Sushi restaurant
Takashi is a popular Japanese eatery and sushi bar known for its contemporary atmosphere and signature rolls. It has gained recognition as one of the best sushi restaurants in Utah and even in the entire country. Chef-owner Takashi Gibo is celebrated for his culinary artistry, offering sublime, melt-in-your-mouth sushi and a variety of izakaya-style dishes.
If you’re serious about sushi in SLC, Takashi is the spot—but get there before they open if you want to make the first seating. It fills up fast for a reason. We started with the pear salad, which had great flavor and texture. The pickled pear had a subtle, addictive tang I couldn’t quite place, and the mix of greens, seeds, and creamy cheese hit all the right notes. Calamari came out as a massive portion. The dipping sauce carried the dish—calamari was decent, not super flavorful on its own but fried well and not greasy. Fried oysters were visually stunning, served in-shell. Crunchy and clean, though I’ve had better. Still solid. Edamame dumplings were the best appetizer by far. Super rich broth, great texture, and savory flavor in every bite—don’t skip these. The steak with vegetable tempura was beautifully cooked and plated. Steak was juicy and flavorful, and the tempura (especially the portobello) was crisp and not overly oily. Now the sushi—fresh across the board. Favorites: • Squid, bonito, mirugai, masaba were the standouts. • Uni was sweet and creamy. • Also enjoyed: chutoro, iwashi, razor clam, amaebi—all fresh and handled well. Our server was fantastic—welcoming, attentive, and made sure we were taken care of throughout the meal. The sake recommendation she gave us paired really well with the nigiri. Only suggestion: it would be great if the larger bottles of sake came with a chilled bucket to keep it cool through the meal. Top-tier experience overall. Can’t wait to go back.

I'd give 6 stars for service if I could. We got to sit at the sushi bar and enjoyed the delightful experience of discussing our meal with the chefs. They provided thoughtful insights about the menu and ingredients. This was a lovely meal. Note that you will have to show up early or expect to wait outside for a while. It's worth it!
Joshua L — Google review
We visited on a recommendation while in town for a conference and the sushi was fresh, presented beautifully, and tasted amazing. Specifically the chef's choice nigiri combo, where every bite had a different burst of flavor. Service was friendly and wait was short.
Alexa P — Google review
We had a great time on a Friday night at Takashi. Like others have said, the service from the host to sever to manager were all lovely. Friendly, helpful, charming! The atmosphere is fantastic from the waiting room, decor, seating options, to music. The food was great. Really unique options. I particularly LOVED the ceviche. For 5 of us, not being restrictive of what we ordered, but no kobe, no drinks - our bill was $220 including a 20% tip.
Stephanie C — Google review
Best sushi in Utah—no question. Azekura beef was some of the best tasting, best textured steak I’ve had. Definitely recommend as an appetizer. Crunchy Ebi, Sunshine, and Caribbean were the perfect ensemble: the tempura-topped shrimp roll with masago and eel sauce, the refreshing salmon/lemon combo, the yellowtail and chili peppers to bring a little heat. Hell yeah. Service was a bit slow when we came, but based on the tables around us I think it was just an off day and only for our table. Our water glasses never got below a third empty. Whether you’re visiting or if you’re a local, it’s a must-go.
Jenny S — Google review
One of the best restaurants I've been to in general. The fried trout and the fried chicken are both amazing starters. The trout had a salty flavor and was fried crispy. It flaked off the bone and I was mesmerized. The sushi is tasty, fresh and made in front of you so well. A must visit in SLC!
Ashwin V — Google review
Flew into salt lake for the day. Had some time to burn. Went here after being recommended from a local. Best sushi ive ever had! Waited was great, sat at the bar, everyone was awesome. The wife and I are actually planning a weekend flight to salt lake just to eat here! She felt left out she wasnt with me when I tried it.
Evan C — Google review
This restaurant is worth the wait. We waited 30 minutes to get a table for two, but it was 100% worth it. This is upscale and modern dining. You order little plates at a time, which makes it feel more like a culinary experience. The service was great, and our waiter was very kind with lots of recommendations. We ordered the following: Edamame Dumplings, Toro Tartare, Uptown Roll, Mr Blue Sky and T&T and the Mars Iwai 45 Whiskey. The edamame dumplings were probably one the best things we’ve ever eaten in our lifetime. It wasn’t on the menu, but written as a special on the wall. This place is worth the money. They put an incredible amount of time and energy into making each roll and making this restaurant a culinary experience.

Japanese restaurant
Kobe Japanese Restaurant, located in a strip mall, is known for its steaming ramen and sushi served by kimono-clad waiters. Chef and owner Mike Fukumitsu ensures the highest quality of fish by sourcing deliveries from Tokyo's Tsukiji fish market twice weekly. Having honed his skills at Kyoto Japanese Restaurant and in Japan, Fukumitsu has turned Kobe's focus toward world-class ramen.
This place was awesome experience for sushi. Especially if you are sitting at the bar. We had shrimp tempura, sushi hotategai, sushi unagi, chef special roll. Gotta have sake Sho chiku bai hot. Other food looks good too. Also you can bring the whole family. Also this place gets packed very quickly.

Excellent appetizers, sushi rolls, and Japanese entrées. The service was friendly. Everything was clean and comfortable. Plenty of parking. Will absolutely be going back.
George S — Google review
The first time I came here was a Tuesday and my boyfriend and I were craving sushi so we decided to try it. Mike (the owner) was making our sushi that night and he was so delightful and made the night so much fun. The flavor profile is out of the world, along with the creativity! When I first started going there I didn't even like raw fish but Mike slowly got me to like it. Definitely the best fish in the valley and best sushi environment. We go here at least twice a week!! Our custom roll is called the Nix Roll, it has shishito peppers, avocado and tuna on the inside and then seared blue fin tuna and lemon on top! I highly recommend.
Gabby P — Google review
We ordered six rolls and they were great. The one that stood out for us was the Shrimp Nips, it had everything one could love. We also had the spicy edamame and a enjoyed the spicy secret sauce. Ask around great experience.
Jared B — Google review
The best sushi I've ever eaten was an incredible combination of flavors and textures that left me speechless. The rice was perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of vinegar and sweetness to balance out the other ingredients. The fish was so fresh that it practically melted in my mouth, with a delicate texture and buttery flavor that was simply unforgettable. The accompanying sauces and garnishes were perfectly balanced, adding just the right amount of spice and flavor to complement the sushi without overpowering it. Overall, it was an experience that I will never forget, and that has set the bar incredibly high for all sushi that I will eat in the future. Personalities of the chefs were a succulent bonus. The hamachi Kama (fried chicken fish) was amazing. Sorry, not sorry.
Emily C — Google review
Hands down this is the best sushi in the Salt Lake Valley. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, the sushi is amazing and the chef, Mike, is an artist for the taste buds. Thanks for making our Anniversary even more special !
USSD C — Google review
The only problem I had was the food. The rice was really gummy on most the sushi we ordered? Maybe a combination of badly cooked rice and incompetent chef who squeezed everything too hard. The texture and food got better on the last two rolls we were served and the uni was really good!
Christina W — Google review
The service has been questionable in past after tonight I won't be ordering again. Called to place an order 40 minutes before posted closing time and was informed the kitchen was closing in 5 minutes. I was informed they were not taking orders because the kitchen was closing in 5 minutes. If not taking an order at that time wouldn't the kitchen be closed now. Our family has picked up food there weekly wanting to support a small neighborhood restaurant.

Japanese restaurant
Kyoto Japanese Restaurant is a long-standing establishment in Salt Lake City, offering traditional Japanese cuisine in a setting adorned with Asian-inspired decor and tatami cushion seating. The restaurant is known for its authentic Japanese fare, including sushi crafted by skilled chefs trained in Japan. With a focus on regional specialties from Sapporo and Osaka, Kyoto showcases the rich culinary traditions of Japan. The restaurant's ambiance exudes a relaxed yet bustling atmosphere, featuring private tatami-style booths and a lively sushi counter.
A Delightful Sushi Spot with Cozy Booths & Great Vibes! Stopped by this charming sushi spot last night, and it was a fantastic experience! The space is super cute, with cozy little individual booths that make for a comfortable and intimate dining experience. We started with the pickled vegetables, which were a fresh and tangy treat, and I loved their homemade soy sauce--it added such a unique depth of flavor to everything. For sushi, we had the Lobster Roll, Mars Roll, and Rainbow Roll, all beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. The mussel shooters were a fun and flavorful addition to the meal. Despite it being a Monday night, the restaurant was lively and full of great energy. The staff was incredibly kind and attentive, making the experience even better. Can't wait to come back and try a Sake Martini!

Well, I am sorry, but this restaurant used to be very nice with the original owners. They sold out, and now it's awful. We went there and we were very disappointed at the food. It had no taste and plain. TOO PRICEY for what you get. The salmon and ribs were not Japanese style, no way. Splattered with honey a d soy sauce isn't Japanese. The meal should come with soup and salad, since the price was too high. The tempura appetizer lost it flavor, don't bother, you will get it with your food( fried carrots) expect to pay around $80 for 2 people, this is with water only. NOT WORTH IT PEOPLE. Go to another place...

I've been going to the Kyoto for years. It's tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, with limited parking. My favorite thing is the sukiyaki. For me, it has a unique flavor that is a mix of sweet and salty. I love the yam noodles, the broth and the veggies. I always order the beef, which is sliced thin and delicious. I recommend it if you love sukiyaki. I've had many other dishes as well that are good.

Very good Japanese restaurant, with all of the elements that I expected, including some chill music. Solid menu with much to choose from and seasonal specials. Attentive service at just the right level. Enough parking for most of the time but I'm sure that it gets packed when busy.

I've been to Utah three times now, and during those three trips I have made the most of my meals. Utah has a great food scene, and I've truly enjoyed a lot of what I've experienced. I think my meal tonight at Kyoto, however, is the best meal I've had in this state! To begin, I have to comment on the beautiful landscaping outside. As a plant person, I really appreciate both the variety of plants throughout the property, and the meticulous care taken to make this garden next level for a restaurant. I particularly enjoyed the variety of conifers and the careful pruning. It was like a small Japanese botanical garden! Okay, let's get inside. The owners put as much effort into the layout and style of the interior as they did in the garden! From the tatami seating to the authentic decor, I was very much immersed in the theme. Our server, Ping, was the absolute best! So friendly and genuine, we all loved her! Everything came out fast too. Very impressive service. I ordered a locally made unfiltered sake called Tsuki White Peach Nigori Unfiltered which was fantastic! We decided to skip appetizers, which I'm so thankful we did because I had a LOT of food! My meal came with miso soup which was incredible! I've never had a miso soup I didn't like, but this was clearly made from scratch. For my main course, I chose the combo plate, which included two options: Beef sukiyaki and torikatsu pork. It was basically two full meals on separate plates! The torikatsu was very good, but holy cow, that beef sukiyaki was AMAZING! This dish is a stew with thin sliced marinated beef. It was served with yam noodles, mushrooms, and huge chunks of tofu. So much flavor! I can't recommend this dish enough. I also tried my friend's saba shioyaki (grilled mackerel) which was also excellent. One more about the mackerel: there are some tiny bones in there so pay attention as you eat. After dinner I tried the ginger rice pudding and once again OUTSTANDING! Such a great dish! I'm going to be dreaming about this meal for a long time. When I visit a place multiple times I tend to never eat at the same place twice. Next time I'm here in SLC, I will definitely be eating at Kyoto again, and realistically, ordering the exact same combination of dishes.

The food was decent, but the service was extremely disappointing. That waitress basically just ignored us. She never checked in to ask if everything was okay, not even the most basic polite phrases. She seemed impatient while waiting for us to order, and after bringing the dishes, there was no further service at all. Overall, it made the whole experience very unpleasant, even though the food itself was fine.
Hao R — Google review
Absolutely brilliant place. Seriously delicious sushi. The service is lovely. And even if the waitress forgot to bring our soups and starters first, she was so delightfully lovely that it really didn't matter. She gave her opinion when asked and made us feel very relaxed. The atmosphere is simple and fun. The decor is the tasteful. I have already recommended it to a few people living in the area and who profess to enjoy good food!

Sushi Groove in Salt Lake City offers a modern twist on traditional Japanese cuisine, set against colorful graffiti-adorned walls. This hip eatery is not your average sushi bar, featuring a lively atmosphere with nightly entertainment such as live music and DJs. The sushi rolls are consistently fresh, flavorful, and creatively presented. For an immersive experience, diners can grab a seat at the sushi counter and engage with the chefs for insider recommendations. Additionally, Sushi Groove hosts $2.
My wife, baby and I went here and we were not disappointed! So good! The staff is friendly, owner is inviting and Adrian is an awesome chef/artist! Yeah, I said artist. They have a cabinet with some art for sale and a little spot in the corner for a DJ. The vibe check is there. This place ought to be slammed every night! Sake was tasty as well! We got a flight and they were all smooth. I loved the coconut, my wife loved the plum. We'll be back for more noodles and sushi! Thanks for the amazing service!
Sam O — Google review
I eat sushi often, but this was my first time coming here being on the other side of town. I was impressed and will be back! Both rolls I had were great and fresh! It's not your normal atmosphere for sushi, which is nice finding somewhere unique. Sounds strange, but it was nice going to a sushi restaurant where the bathroom didn't smell like a sewer plant (don't know why that's so common). Good service, even though it was in the slow afternoon time, so I don't know how quick they are on a busy night. I plan on finding out though!
Jed A — Google review
My new favorite Sushi restaurant! Their Shrimp Tempura roll, with chicken added and deep fried, 🤤🤤🤤, soooooo good! The staff is really cool too, make sure to say hi to the Chef, he's a really cool dude with amazing Sushi Talent! Plus they have Fuji Apple Sake, which in my opinion is the greatest Sake ever! Seriously, if you like Sushi, check this place out, it has a very unique and chill atmosphere.

We’ve been coming to Sushi Groove for date nights for years. We get both take out and dine-in depending on our mood and both are great. Great place for both veggie sushi options and meat-eaters. I’ve ordered a Vegas for myself and sometimes it’s got different ingredients from the last time I got it, but it’s still tasty. I think it just depends on who rolled it. The sake selection is great. The servers are great. I think there are vegan options too but neither me nor my boyfriend eat vegan so don’t take my word for it.
Sarah C — Google review
This place is great! Highly recommend the mount fugi roll, I've never heard anything like it and it absolutely devolved in your mouth. It was basically a riceless roll, crab replacing the rice. The other roll pictured here is the White Mars. Also delicious. I came to leave a 5 star review again just for that Mount Fugi roll and forgot I already left one. Seriously, everyone needs this roll.
Lauren B — Google review
I was skeptical walking in Friday afternoon because the small venue smelled a bit fishy. Tried the Zenith, Pineapple Tango. Also had the Serrano Sunrise as per my waiter’s suggestion. First, I appreciate the large roll size and pieces. I struck a lucky hit with a good combination of deep, rich flavor (Zenith) and a light, spicy experience (SS). The other roll was good, but the other two stole the spotlight for me. Overall, this might be my favorite sushi place in SLC at the moment. Currently my favorite place to get sushi in Salt Lake City.
Michael T — Google review
I came in to get a couple of sushi rolls to go. There was no wait so I got my rolls quick. The employees were nice. I would say this place is a hidden gem. I tried the spider roll and the Vegas rolls. They were both super tasty but the Vegas was my favorite. They also do great deals. I will be back next time I’m in the area.
Megan L — Google review
The HARDCORE COMBO is the best sushi platter with the freshest, tastiest fish assortment of sashimi & nigiri... plus it comes with miso soup and a Poké bowl with seaweed salad... all for $24.99! The vibes are cool, with under the sea dj graffiti. Also, I heard on Tuesdays they have nigiri happy hour all day. Local gem, for sure! Salmon belly is mind-blowing.

Itto Sushi Downtown is a popular sushi restaurant located in Salt Lake City, offering a relaxed and vibrant atmosphere perfect for a quick lunch or an exciting night out. The menu features a wide variety of classic sushi rolls, sashimi, teriyaki, and Asian fusion dishes. In addition to the delicious food options, they also offer an extensive selection of sake and Japanese beer to complement your meal.
Best sushi I’ve had in Utah! Their menu provides a broad selection making it easy for everyone to find something suited for their liking. The atmosphere is comfortable and inviting and the service staff are top-tier. I tried a variety of different rolls (everything looked so good!). I must’ve surprised them with how many I ordered because the sushi chef brought out a complementary “Caribbean” roll! It complemented the array of flavors we ordered, it ended up being my favorite one of our dinner! Needless to say, i’ll be looking forward to my next visit to Itto. Thank you!

Oh wow! The sushi here is really awesome! No wonder they won best sushi in SLC! I got the Stairs to Heaven Nigiri platter. It came on a really cool unique platform serving tray and the sushi was SO fresh and melt in your mouth delicious! It came with a sauce I don’t remember the name but it was kinda sweet and I absolutely loved it! I also got the Sushi Vampire roll and one I don’t remember the name but boy was it tasty!! Just take a look at the photos. Yumm I look forward to coming back here!!

Food Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The sushi was an absolute 10/10 fresh, flavorful, and perfectly crafted. To top it off, the chef surprised us with a new dish to try (pictured above), and it was truly amazing! A beautiful mix of fresh tuna, avocado, and crisp greens with just the right kick of seasoning. The presentation was stunning, and every bite was full of bold, balanced flavor. Huge shoutout to the chef for the thoughtful gesture and for making our experience unforgettable.

The sushi is amazing and super fresh! They have great lunch and happy hour specials and their prices overall are very fair for such good quality. Wonderful staff and their sushi chefs are amazing!

Staff were attentive right when I walked in and greeted me. First time here and I wanted a spicy roll and was suggested the “fire dragon.” It was the perfect amount of spice with the jalapeños and lime. I would come back here.

We were looking for sushi in SLC and found that this place was awarded the best sushi in SLC in 2022! Service was quick and friendly. The interior is cute and casual. For food, we had miso soup, Romeo and Juliet roll, Las Vegas roll, Hokkaido roll, and the aburi stairs to heaven. The miso soup was very good, usually that’s how we can tell the sushi is solid. The Romeo and Juliet was an interesting concept, although I’m not sure coconut shrimp works for me in sushi. Las Vegas roll was a standard fried roll, but it kept falling apart as we ate it. The Hokkaido roll had a nice torched flavor. The Aburi stairs to heaven was the highlight for me - each piece of nigiri was very flavorful. Would considering coming back to try other rolls

Tsunami Restaurant & Sushi Bar, also known as Tsunami on 9th, is a popular sushi house in Salt Lake City that offers a mix of creative and traditional rolls, along with standard Japanese entrees.
Came in on a last minute decision to get some sushi and they definitely exceeded expectations! One of us has celiacs so gluten will cause a very bad reaction. Our server, Spencer, was extremely helpful and cautious about the allergy. He was very knowledgeable and patient with us. The food was outstanding, and the service was equally impressive. The restaurant has a fantastic ambiance, with both indoor and outdoor seating offering a comfortable and inviting vibe. We left completely satisfied, yet still craving more! I would highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be coming back!

This was our first time at the Ninth Street location, though we’ve been to their other locations before. We went for an early Saturday dinner without a reservation and were fortunate to be seated right away. However, we noticed a large party that couldn’t be accommodated immediately, so if you’re dining with a big group, I highly recommend booking a reservation on OpenTable—it makes the experience smoother for both you and the restaurant. Our waiter was fantastic—knowledgeable, attentive, and even helped with the pronunciation of the sashimi I ordered, which I really appreciated. I wish I remembered his name because he truly made our experience even better. We started with Kylie Minogue’s Prosecco, a favorite of ours, and it was great to see it available by the glass. Since I recently had my wisdom teeth removed, I stuck to soft foods, beginning with a miso soup and a selection of sashimi from the special menu—four different types, three pieces each, totaling 12 slices, which was the perfect portion. My other half ordered two rolls: one featuring Wagyu beef with a hint of spice, which he enjoyed, and a classic salmon and avocado roll, both beautifully prepared. The atmosphere was lively as more guests arrived, and it was fun to see a few birthday celebrations happening. One waitress made a young boy’s birthday extra special by acknowledging him when he ordered his rainbow roll. He looked so happy to be recognized, and it was a thoughtful touch that added to the warm and welcoming vibe of the restaurant. The restaurant has a modern, stylish interior with soft lighting, creating an inviting space for a date night or a relaxed dinner with a partner. They also have a great outdoor dining area, which we’ll be sure to take advantage of after winter. The menu is extensive, with plenty of options, and the special menu offers unique flavors, making each visit feel fresh and exciting. Highly recommend—we’ll definitely be back!

Came here for my first time with my family for lunch & had a good experience. It's a cute little restaurant with pretty decent food. The servers were all really friendly & the atmosphere was nice. We ordered a variety of sushi to share & I got the lunch box special with teriyaki steak & the chicken wonton tacos were the best by far! The only downside was that we waited a long time for our food to arrive.

Heard so many good things about this place that I had to check it out whilst in town. It might have been the sushi rolls I picked but I’ve had better overall tasting rolls- everything didn’t seem to blend. My experience of taste was more individual flavors of the food rather than nice blends on things. The quality was excellent- just the flavors. Service and atmosphere was excellent and I have no complaints here. I’d try it if you are thinking about it- again, glowing reviews from others. I hope next time I try it- it will be worthy of the 5 stars!

This is a really good option for sushi lovers and non-sushi lovers like me. They have a really good variety of options and the lunch box is the perfect deal for sushi lovers.

Well I have now been to all locations of Tsunami in Utah! It is my favorite sushi place! Everything is wonderful and consistently wonderful and if you come to the ninth and ninth location ask for Kalieigh to be your server! I had the purple haze to drink, and had the delicious scallops and a tiger roll and a sunrise roll. And I finished it with the banana ice cream they make in house which was heavenly!
Roxy C — Google review
This was our first visit to Tsunami and I must say it was so so good. And actually very reasonably priced!! We could have very easily spent $30-$40 more for what we got at other locations. Everything we had tasted delicious and fresh. They have a Jalapeño Teriyaki sauce that is incredible, it comes with the Shrimp Poppers but I ended up dipping some sushi in it as well. The only thing I would complain about was that the service was just okay, our server refilled our drinks once during the hour visit.. and I have seen on here there are lots of people that have complained about their service so they weren’t wrong. I would highly recommend the Don Juan roll or the Cococabana roll for you heat lovers.

Sapa is a trendy Asian fusion restaurant located in downtown Salt Lake City, offering a vibrant atmosphere and a courtyard for outdoor dining. The restaurant is renowned for its delectable sushi, with must-try rolls like the UFO, Lowrider, Cyprus, and Kamikaze. In addition to sushi, Sapa also serves Vietnamese and Thai fusion dishes along with Korean BBQ and Vietnamese pho.
Had a great experience at Sapa. The lamb sauté bento box really impressed--huge portion for just $18, and the lamb was coated in a flavorful, rich sauce with just the right amount of heat. The salad on the side was crisp and refreshing, especially with the light, citrusy dressing that balanced out the meal nicely. We also shared the calamari, which was a standout. Super crispy with a light, airy batter, and the dipping sauce had a sweet and sour blend that had a subtle Southeast Asian vibe--really addictive. It came out hot and fresh, and the portion was generous. The sashimi plate was beautifully presented and tasted just as fresh as it looked. The sauce on the side was unique--not something I've tried before, but it complemented the fish in a really cool way. Definitely better quality sashimi than what I've seen at most other spots around SLC. Service was attentive and friendly throughout, and we only waited about 5-10 minutes for a table, even on a busy lunch. Overall, Sapa delivered on both flavor and value. Solid spot if you're craving Japanese or fusion in the area.

Wow, what an amazing place this is! We just happened upon this Asian Fusion restaurant while out exploring Salt Lake City. A really nicely decorated place with actual imported Tea Rooms in the wonderful garden area. The food was as excellent as the decor, with a wide variety of options that catered to the wide ranging tastes of our group of 6 (from 16 up). Our meal cost $170, and we ordered plenty. Highly, highly recommend

This is my new favorite sushi place in the SLC area. Everything I had here was amazing, including the staff. Their main menu is digital, but if you want a physical one, just ask and they'll give you one. Also, if you go Mon-Thurs from 5-6:30pm, the sushi (plus several starters) is all you can eat. Definitely the best option. But regular hours or all you can eat hours, I will be returning many more times.

We got here at at 4:57pm on a Friday and took the last parking spot. They opened the doors at 5pm and were seated and we got our food very quickly. Amazing service! I highly recommend the Filet Mignon on the fried rice, it was so good. The pieces of steak had great juicy flavor in each bite, the green beans were great, and the fried rice was top tier! The two sushi rolls we got were the Imperial and the Dinero. Both were phenomenal. Our favorite was the Dinero, it came out warm and deep fried and the cream cheese added delicious creaminess to it. Best sushi I have had in Utah! We will be back! Service was great! We didn’t have to wait for anything, we were in and out within an hour.

Our food was really good but our server Sarah was outstanding. She gave us some great recommendations from a food perspective. Even better after finding out we are from Australia, she gave use some great suggestions on were to visit as well. The firecracker calamari was very tasty along with the large combo sushimi. I would definitely recommend this place for people wanting a tasty Japanese meal and amazing customer service.

I loved everything about this place, and I’m not even a sushi guy. I was able to make my own custom roll, I call it the Brady Roll…anyway, super good. It was basically a sushi version of a burrito. Fantastic food, and great service!

Sushi was really good, I got the wagyu bento box. They asked how I wanted the meat cooked to which I replied medium rare. I’m Not sure why they asked if they were just gonna cook it all the way through lmao but the food was great anyway. Good portions, good beer, lovely atmosphere. Would come back.

Fat Fish is a trendy Japanese restaurant that has gained popularity for its inventive sushi rolls and Vietnamese noodle soups. Since its opening in 2013, it has become one of the go-to spots in Salt Lake City for exceptional Japanese flavors. Food quality: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Value: 5/5 Tried out Fat Fish for the first time and it was a great experience! The staff was welcoming and nice, and the restaurant was clean. We ordered a few different plates to share and everything came out relatively fast. I wish there was gyoza in the menu, but other than that, the menu had a pretty good variety of both fish and shellfish items. Would definitely go back to try other items!

We are from Houston, where good food is standard. I was pleasantly surprised by this sushi. I loved the citrus on top of the rolls. What a great idea. This isn’t a thing yet in Houston and I fell in love with it. Great meal overall. Our server was also wonderful. She was polite and fast to deliver and had very good conversation.

This was our first time going to this place and we really liked it. There was no line when we went on a Friday night which was nice. The atmosphere was cozy. Our waitress was really nice and recommended some great dishes. The presentation was nice, don’t mind the mess on the plate, I dug in before remembering to grab photos. I wish I remembered all the names. One was Las Vegas Roll. I also got Miso soup and iced Thai tea to start off with which was good. Definitely will go back to try more recommendations.

Fat Fish hands down is the BEST sush & I’ve tried almost every place from Ogden to SLC. I ALWAYS come back to Fat Fish and SAPA but SAPA is also their restaurant so obviously that’s why both hands down are 5 stars . Fat Fish WVC has the best quality sushi I’ve ever had. Everything is always made fresh. I’ve never once had a bad experience. The staff are always amazing and have my order ready to go when I stop in to hurry and pick up my order for the lunch hour on my break. When I eat inside the restaurant, it’s the same experience they treat you so well make sure that you have everything and always provide the best customer service. I eat here so much it’s become a problem where I order here almost every day 🤣 they also are on DoorDash . 100% recommend

Pretty solid sushi spot! Their weekday afternoon AYCE special is a great deal—lots of sushi options plus pho and appetizers included. Everything was fresh and tasty, and the variety makes it worth it. I’ve had amazing service and not so great service here. The majority of the staff is friendly and good workers, but I’ve had at least one bad experience. Still highly recommend for the AYCE for $30.

My husband and I were looking for a sushi place down in the West Valley area. Came across this place on a simple google search and picked them based off the photos of the food that were posted and checked out their menu on the website. They did NOT disappoint!!! Everything was amazing. The kamikaze roll was recommended by our server when we couldn’t decide on another roll since they all look so good! It took me on a flavor adventure to eating street tacos on a beach in Mexico. I highly recommend and will definitely make the 40 minute drive again!

The sushi rolls were average at best. Not worth $16 a roll. The seaweed was old and chewy, more rice than filling, no real distinct flavors.

This is such a cute location but unfortunately it is poorly kept…. The floor and tables were sticky, even outside. The bathrooms were not adequately stocked as I had to use watered down soap. And do not get me started on how long it took to get our food. The sushi felt chewy and tasted slimy. Overall not worth the price.

Yellowfinn is a Sugar House gem serving exquisite Japanese food in an environment that exudes major neighborhood pub energy. I don't recall ever feeling more at home or authentically welcomed to a place on my first visit. The menu is about 80% gluten free, so it makes it easy for diners with those issues. I recommend the hamachi nigiri, Utah roll and tempura banana for dessert. The creamesicle saketini is perfect. This is a place you need to try.

Was in town and saw some good reviews, and they mentioned half price sushi during happy hours. Was a block away from our hotel, came by and was not disappointed. We ordered 4 sushi rolls and they were all delicious. We sat around the sushi bar as well, giving some great authenticity. Sushi artists are very good and helpful for any questions. Few notes, it is in a bar so you need an ID. My wife forgot hers in the hotel so we had to go back to get. Blame dresses for not having pockets. But still a note if you're walking like we were. Again, solid find for some great sushi. It is a steal during their happy hours.

Found this hidden gem at the first night in SLC because there were few restaurants open near my hotel during late night. Then, I came back for their half price and discounts at late night. The service is welcoming and the vibe is always amazing with a lovely bar and some other interesting things. Rolls taste not impressive, but still fresh at late night.

Oh, how I wish Ahh Sushi wasn't adjoined to a bar! I would love to be able to bring my siblings here. The sushi is phenomenal. I LOVE their spider roll. It's a little dismaying how you need to be ID'd to get in... I get it, it's a bar, but I wish there was a separate restaurant only area. I've stood outside in the cold on one occasion to wait for the sushi because it is that good (And the employees are super kind, to take your order back and get it made to go when you forget your ID.) I really do recommend it! It's so yummy!

Jacob and Arturo, the sushi chefs, were amazing and gave such good suggestions for us. Hamachi Sushi Bar is a modern Japanese restaurant known for its precise preparation and presentation of traditional sushi with a modern twist. The inviting and light ambiance offers a variety of regular and specialty Maki, but their standout dishes are the sashimi and Hamachi in nigiri. With an elegant atmosphere, minimal decoration, and good service, it's perfect for special occasions. The menu features high-quality sushi, sashimi, wagyu beef, foie gras, and other Japanese delicacies.
I’ve ordered both takeout and dined in at Hamachi Sushi, and I can confidently say it’s one of the best places in Salt Lake for sushi. The fish is always fresh, beautifully presented, and made with high-quality ingredients. My favorite roll is the Billy Billy—it’s a must-try! The service is always great, and their patio seating is a nice bonus, especially on a warm evening. Perfect spot for a casual date night or a small group outing. Highly recommend!

So I struggled rating this place a 3. I really wanted to give this place a higher rating but here is why I couldn’t. The food was good except for a few things. We had the stuffed Shishito peppers, nigiri combo and the Shoyu Ramen. The Ramen had great flavor and for me was just the right size, and the pork belly was perfect so good…but the soup was lukewarm. No one wants cold ramen especially on 30 degree days. Please serve that ramen super hot… The Nigiri I was told was really good. Most people who follow my reviews know I’m not a raw fish fan so I leave how good that is to my wife. She said it was good. Now for the peppers which was what ruined the whole experience for me. The peppers are stuffed with cream cheese and spicy tuna and then fried in tempura batter. The tuna was just not it, the tuna should not be in that combo. Seemed to me the tuna was added to the recipe just to add a protein, the texture was wrong and it didn’t fit the dish. I feel there could be a better choice of protein if the owner feels a protein needs to be in there. Like a spicy pork or something that will stand with the cheese and pepper not work against it. Just bad choices as it is. Beyond the issues stated above I liked this place and would consider going back just need to reconsider my menu choices.

Found this place for lunch on a Sunday! A small and quaint restaurant in a rather neighborhood area of Salt Lake City but the quality of the sushi took us by surprise. The staff was very sweet and kind, she was also very attentive to our table. 🍽️What we ordered * shrimp and veggie tempura -- we ended up getting two servings of these because how much we liked them! They were fresh, hot, crispy, and served with the tempura sauce * chicken karage -- honestly by the time tempura and the chicken karage came out, we knew this was a good place. Chicken was juicy inside and crispy out. LOVED the sauce is was served with * crispy tuna tartare -- very fun appetizer with fried sushi rice and spicy tuna on top. * specialty rolls -- we ordered so many that I weren't able to keep track of it. Both Billy Billy and kill bill were great! * nigiri -- often times we judge a sushi place by their red snapper nigiri and this placed passed the test! The red snapper was fresh and so well made. ✨Vibe 8 /10 💵price $40 ish per person 👤party of 5 people I give 9/10, definitely would recommend people checking this place out. Whether you're from the SLC area or just stopping by for a skii trip, you'll definitely be in for a nice treat! 🗓️12/29/2024

This ramen is so delicious!! However, they are a bit sparse on the meat, so I recommend adding more (you’ll get 4 instead of 2). The karaage chicken had an interesting batter (I wasn’t a big fan, but my boyfriend liked it).

I’ve ordered from here before and really liked it, but last night was a huge disappointment. I added pork belly and one of them only got a chunk of pure fat with no meat at all. The shoyu broth was extremely salty—so salty it was basically inedible. I expected way better given my past experience. Really let down this time.

Tasty sushi at a small, fun spot for a nice evening meal. Convenient location downtown-ish, but not in a crowded part of the city. Nice, helpful service and yummy sushi and ramen. Everything was fresh and delicious; just a bit noisy due to the concrete floors, I guess. We enjoyed the mango mochi for dessert, too!

Hamachi has firmly established itself as the go-to destination for fantastic sushi in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City. Its central location is incredibly convenient, making it the perfect spot for a work lunch, a pre-show dinner, or a night out on the town. The atmosphere inside is always buzzing, a clear sign that you've found a local favorite. Above all, the taste is consistently excellent. The fish is always incredibly fresh, and every roll is crafted with a perfect balance of flavor and texture, reminding you what truly high-quality sushi should taste like. What truly sets Hamachi apart is its menu, which features an impressive array of unique food offerings that you won't find at a standard sushi bar. Alongside the classic rolls, their creative signature rolls and innovative appetizers provide an exciting culinary adventure for both new and returning customers. Even more impressive is the service. Despite how constantly busy the restaurant is, the staff operates with a remarkable efficiency that ensures you get your food surprisingly fast. They have perfected the art of providing prompt, attentive service without ever making you feel rushed. This winning combination of a prime downtown location, uniquely delicious food, and incredibly efficient service makes Hamachi an unbeatable choice. It’s a place that consistently delivers a top-tier dining experience from the moment you walk in. For anyone craving sushi that is both inventive and impeccably fresh, I wholeheartedly recommend Hamachi. It’s a true downtown gem that has never once disappointed.

Service and atmosphere was great. This is my friends favorite place. The flavors were delicate and the ingredients seemed to be of good quality. In my opinion however I think it is a bit overpriced. $50+ for two people will not make you feel satisfied, portions are rather small. I would also expect something more flavorful. Like you want more of it. Sadly it was just alright for me. Nothing that leaves me craving for more except you get hungry after you eat since they serve very little portions.

I came to this place while it was under a different name a while ago, and it was pretty average as far as resturants go. But I just went and realized it wasn't the same place anymore and had an absolutely FABULOUS and surprisingly chic meal! They've updated the interior with a beautiful modern vibe, and the presentation of their food is SO GORGEOUS. Everytime a new plate was brought out, I found myself saying "wow" or "that's beautiful" out loud! I was so impressed with our meal and our service! We got several different sushi rolls and couldn't help but notice the quality of the fish, and the care that was put into making them. Also, we got the chocolate mousse dessert which was so good! We are excited to come back!

We were so pleasantly surprised by this find. It is new as if end of year 2017 and it may not look like much from the street but the quality and service was better than most sushi joints. The roles were unique like the photo of the lollipop roll that was served in sticks and had strawberries in it. The Blue Marlin was amazing and we loved the sashimi plate.

Our party of eight really enjoyed this place. We ordered almost all of the sushi rolls they served to share and liked all of them. Our favorites were Wall Street, Shenano, temple and Tokyo rose. The service was great-very friendly and refilled our water cups in a very timely manner. We also really liked the gyoza and the Brussels sprouts. The walls change colors and the vibes are great. I would definitely come here again or recommend this as a great place to eat.

Some places do sushi as well as other menu items. Blue Marlin has a tapas menu, and some salads, but it's clear if you're coming here your coming for the sushi. We did get two tapas, both were good. The wagyu beef really benefited from the avacado it was plated with. The sexy shrimp was fantastic, I would order it again. Just be mindful that they are definitely going for quality over quantity. We had three rolls as well. The Aurora and Pandora were both particularly good. The Vulcan is fried and too heavy for my liking, but the flavor was great. I think I'm just partial to the non-fried rolls. The music had an Asian fusion vibe, and set a good mood. I'd definitely come back and recommend this place.

Wonderful atmosphere, amazing service that's at a perfect relaxing pace that what you look for in a good dinner with loved ones, not an overbearing amount of sushi roll choices and few options that are really good for those who are still on the fence for sushi styled food. Great for those looking for a romantic vibe to those looking at a good light dinner before a night on the town with friends.

Absolutely fantastic meal! We started with the oyster shooters, Hiramasa Carpaccio and the brussel sprouts, all 3 were phenomenal. We then had the chef's choice nigiri plate that had tuna, salmon, fluke, mackerel, and their house marinated Ikura, the salmon and Ikura were some of the best I've ever had and the rest were all delicious and crazy fresh as well. We then had a few of their Kushiyaki(grilled and skewered) items, we tried the pork belly, tsukune, and shiitake. They each came with a small bit of condiment that complimented the flavors of the items perfectly, the tsukune was my personal favorite, but they were all so good it was hard to choose. We then had a couple rolls to finish off our meal, we tried the Brooklyn roll and the Shogun roll. Both were delicious and had very well balanced and inventive flavor profiles. The whole dinner was a great experience and we will definitely be back soon to try all the rest of the menu that we didn't have the room to try this visit.

Nestled in the heart of Salt Lake City, Siegfried's Delicatessen is a charming and bustling deli that brings a taste of Germany to the local dining scene. This delightful marketplace offers an array of traditional German specialties alongside imported groceries, making it a unique culinary destination. Perfect for lunch, Siegfried's allows diners to explore new flavors without the commitment of an elaborate dinner.
This is a very unique German restaurant! They have a lot of food options that are authentic German food, as well as options such as a grilled cheese, or chicken leg. We really loved the quality of food and the price was very reasonable. I got the Reuben on Rye and it was so good. It wasn’t overpowering at all, but it had enough flavor that it tasted amazing. Their cucumber salad was amazing with whatever vinegar they put on it and it was really fresh. My husband got a pork steak with potatoes and macaroni salad. His pork steak was a little chewy, but it was really good. The potatoes were flavored well and you can never go wrong with a Mac salad. For dessert, we got their cheese cake and their Napoleon. They both were amazing. They were each price about six dollars which I think is reasonable for the quality. I did not care for the German drink I got because it has a beer taste. I’m not a big fan of the taste of beer. We will definitely return and hope to bring our family so they can try some of the different types of food they offer. The guys behind us in line so they’re bratwurst is the best. There was plenty of seating for lunch, but it may get overcrowded if there’s an event.

If you're craving authentic German food in SLC, Siegfried’s Delicatessen is the place to go! This spot is our go-to for bratwurst, goulash, and their delicious German chocolate cake. It’s a casual deli with plenty of authentic dishes to choose from, plus a little market area stocked with German chocolates, sauerkraut, noodles, meats, and other imported goodies. On my last visit, I ordered the homemade sausage plate with two sausages and a side of potatoes, plus an order of the Hungarian spicy goulash. We finished off with a decadent slice of German chocolate cake—absolutely 10/10! I love that they’re generous with portions and keep their prices reasonable. If you’re downtown and looking for a great place to try, I highly recommend stopping by. Friendly staff, amazing food, and best of all—**FREE parking!**

A quick serve restaurant in downtown with the quality of a sit-down restaurant. You order at a counter and the food was served to us very quickly. A separate counter had delicious dessert options. The serving sizes were very good for their sides. I particularly liked the sauerkraut and the healthy vegetables in the shrimp salad. I give a high recommendation for this place.

Siegfried's Delicatessen: A Taste of Germany in Downtown If you're craving authentic German cuisine, Siegfried's Delicatessen is a must-visit. Nestled in the bustling heart of downtown, this gem offers a culinary journey straight to Germany. From the moment you step in, the aroma of hearty dishes welcomes you. Their Reuben sandwich is nothing short of amazing - with perfectly balanced flavors and quality ingredients, it's a standout on the menu. But the delights don't end there. Their selection of sweets and cakes is equally impressive, offering a sweet conclusion to your meal. Siegfried's also stocks a variety of German products, adding an extra layer of authenticity to your dining experience. It's like having a slice of Germany right here in the city. The only downside is parking, which can be a bit tricky given the downtown location. However, they do offer validation for a nearby parking garage, which is a helpful touch. Be prepared for a bustling atmosphere during lunch hours, as it's a popular spot with locals and visitors alike. Overall, Siegfried's Delicatessen is a fantastic spot for anyone looking to indulge in genuine German food. Whether you're there for the savory sandwiches, delectable desserts, or just to pick up some German goodies, you won't be disappointed.

Great authentic German food. I got the Wienerschnitzel. I would definitely go back. I'd like to try the Ruben and sauerkraut. It was a very unique experience.
Jarad B — Google review
We didn’t know that to expect, we thought it would be more of a deli sandwich place. We were pleasantly surprised. Fast service, friendly and good food. The entree portions were large, my husband and I split the Weinerschnitzel and the 2 sides. It’s a very casual and there are German food products to purchase. The desserts looked so delicious, we were too full to have dessert, but will definitely be back to try their desserts and strudel. We were just in Berlin and we felt like we had just stepped back into Germany.

Great place for a breakfast, lunch or dinner - pretty much they have it all. From the traditional Black Forest cake to the Ruben sandwich, it’s all tasty. Full of European treasures that are worth trying, especially Milka chocolates.

Very unique little deli/grocery store. The chicken leg and thigh were fall off the bone tender and the Reuben was huge. I wish I had a chance to stay a couple days longer so I can try some of their sausages.

Benihana is a vibrant hibachi chain that offers an unforgettable dining experience centered around the art of teppanyaki. As you gather around the steel grill, master chefs dazzle guests with their culinary skills, chopping and sautéing fresh ingredients right before your eyes. Known for its exceptional sushi made from daily flown-in fish, Benihana ensures every bite is a delight. The atmosphere buzzes with energy as diners enjoy not only delicious food but also an entertaining show by talented chefs.
You can't go wrong with Benihana, I've been here twice in 2 weeks. Shows how much I love their food. This location has a sushi bar downstairs and there are several Habachi tables upstairs. Consider this establishment for any size group or family occasions. They have weekday lunch specials, a happy hour and a pre fixed menu avaliable. Chloe was a great server, attentive and very friendly.

Yummies good and best experience! We had the best time celebrating our anniversary and the staff was so kind and attentive! They really put on a show and amazing dinner all in one night. Best time!

I’ve been to better restaurants that do the same thing, wasn’t impressed with our chef. Was very slow and the food was average. The food had a strong ginger taste, plus it was small portions compared to others.
Kyle J — Google review
I’ve been going to Benihanas since 98’ NEVER have I had a bad experience until tonight. I normally dine upstairs but a family member wanted to do the Taste of Benihana. Server was beyond amazing, he was a delight but the food was horrible. Started off with the soup tasting like someone dropped the salt container in it. Was not edible. Then he brings out the food and noticed that it had no noodles. I did order Yakisoba. It should’ve been subbed with spicy teriyaki and extra garlic butter no yakisoba sauce. He takes back our chicken plates (chicken was cooked with spicy teriyaki) and came back with noodles also overly cooked with spicy teriyaki. It was over powering and couldn’t taste the garlic butter and noodles were dry. The chicken fried rice was the worst fried rice that I’ve tasted from here, in 27 years. It had zero taste. I didn’t even eat my food. I did order a pint of the ginger dressing to go, it was delicious as well as the Vegas roll. I highly recommend. I was so excited to have a date night out with my wife and S-I-L to end up with overpriced dry tasteless main course food. Make it make sense that the side courses taste better than the main course?! Thankfully server was great besides the amazing company he made the night. Benihana please don’t be like the other restaurants with the bad economy letting the food quality go down too.

I just turned 30 and we wanted to make the occasion special and go somewhere nice. Nate was our sever and he was super nice and kept on top of our drinks. However Quinn definitely made the night amazing. The food was amazing and very well seasoned he even go the quiet people out of their shells and enjoying the night. Definitely coming back for birthdays again.

It was a beautiful dinner, a bit crowded and loud for a team dinner but the service was good. And delicious fun food
Lasha S — Google review
For a hibachi grill, this Benihana is good. The food was good (but very buttery) and the drinks were decent. It seems the servers are very heavily worked and a bit tired.

I have been to Benihanas many times and have always enjoyed the experience. The food has always been delicious. The general atmosphere of the restaurant is quite nice - even the area outside is fairly pleasant. For every time that me and my family have gone, we haven't had to wait for too long to get a table. I think the longest was not quite ten minutes. I would highly recommend this place.

Sushi restaurant
The japanese restaurant Kaze Sushi Bar and Grill has an extensive menu with a variety of sushi rolls and Japanese fare. The modern setting is perfect for a casual meal with friends. The service is attentive and friendly, making this the perfect spot for a sushi lover looking for something new.
The staff is wonderful and so was the food! Probably some of the best tasting appetizers I’ve had at a sushi restaurant. Highly recommend to try the variety of them. The atmosphere was cozy and didn’t feel crowded even when they were busy.
Rachel Y — Google review
This has to be the best sushi I have ever had in my life. The fusion of flavors here are prepared by master chefs who are generous in the portions of ingredients and present each roll as a work of art. The Miyazaki roll is a sight to behold. We also got the my darling roll and the sugarhouse roll. The rolls were so fresh and flavorful every bite had me wanting more. The meal ended with fried cheesecake so sinfully good I was shamelessly lapping it up like a dog drinking from the bowl. We will absolutely be back. I am so glad we found such a great spot in the city.
Caleb P — Google review
We chose this spot based on previous Google reviews, and thank goodness for the power of a good Google review! This spot is a knock-out. Extremely authentic Japanese cuisine, heavily leaning towards sushi, but the menu has some excellent items that show off the skills of the whole kitchen crew. We tried three selections of yakitori and they were well done. Could have used a bit more char on the chicken thighs, but that is a small critique. The sushi menu is varied, from maki, negiri, sushi and specialty rolls. All hand made with great care. Nothing comes quickly from the kitchen, which is also a good sign. The ramen was very flavorful, packed with noodles still containing a bite, pork, egg etc. The real star was the Cha Soba, which you rarely see outside of Japan. A summer dish where the noodles are served cold, with a dipping sauce and vegetable tempura. This was a surprise hit with me.
Graham P — Google review
I was about to write another review not realizing I had already wrote a five star review for this place. I have come here so many times I’ve been too many other sushi restaurants in Salt Lake specially near downtown and this place I would say is even better than sapa the fish is fresh. The service is great and the food/menu is even better. I’ve never had a bad experience here and I’ve probably been here about 10 to 15 times I’m from San Diego California and so I feel like my expectations of sushi are high. I would absolutely recommend this place to anybody

The Caribbean Jack was more like a dessert than a drink, it was so delicious! The Natsu Mango rolls and Ramen were very good!! Our server was super nice and professional, the atmosphere was relaxed and easy. There's patio seating if you want to sit outside, but it's noisy with traffic. Inside was nice, low lightning, wasn't loud or chaotic. The prices were all very reasonable.

I LOVE this place!! Great selection of sushi and small plates. Service is always wonderful and the price can’t be beat! Try the wagyu beef tataki! The steak melts in your mouth it was so delicious! They also have some great lunch specials!!

Me and my friends went here after lunch. Kaze Sushi Bar & Grill is walking distance from Main St. The food was fantastic! Especially the takoyaki and the cripsy tuna sushi. I also commend our server, she's very nice and attentive with our tables and our needs. They also have a lot of seating and space for groups of people dining. Overall, I loved my experience and would definitely go back.

Ozora Izakaya Japanese Bar & Tapas is a hidden gem in Salt Lake City, offering a unique and cozy dining experience. The restaurant's large bar and ideal ambiance make it the perfect spot for friends to unwind. Guests can enjoy expertly made sushi rolls and an array of small plates that cater to all tastes. While some diners experienced a wait for seating and slow service, the delicious food made up for it, with most dishes being highly enjoyable.
I've been to a lot of sushi restaurants over the years, and I think this might be in my top 5. The rolls were delicious, fresh, and flavorful. The ramen was spectacular, their waigu plate was immaculately presented, and their lava cake was on point! When I come back to SLC, I'm visiting here again. This one deserves 4.5+ stars
Caleb R — Google review
This is a fantastic Japanese restaurant that never disappoints. The sushi is always fresh and meticulously prepared. I particularly enjoyed the pork belly, asparagus bacon, and chicken thigh yakitori. Each dish was perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The service is consistently excellent. Highly recommended for an authentic Japanese dining experience.

I visited this place a handful of times so far and never a bad service. Somehow I never had to wait to get seated, unlike many other restaurants. The food is amazing. The pictures are from a family outing. We ordered a bit of everything. Great newish Japanese restaurant with cool vibe and awesome food. (I used to go to Kobe a lot but the wait there is always over an hour. Same time, this place seats you right away).

Amazing and delicious food. Beautiful ambience and friendly staff to help prepare and serve your food. Each dish is carefully prepared and beautifully presented. It tastes as good as it looks. Highly recommended place if you are in the mood for sushi or Japanese food. Parking at nearby garage and the restaurant validates the ticket.

Guys this place is better than Takashi, seriously. Same quality, cheaper! Try the Yakitori wagyu and try the chicken nanban. Same quality fish as Takashi. Better and fun sushi combos. Get it.
Bryan T — Google review
This izakaya is a jewel in Sugar House. They are going for a mix of traditional but also fusion Japanese tapas and for the most part they get it right. Authenticity may be slightly compromised but overall undoubtedly they have made a genuine effort. Everything is pretty much awesome, from the beef to the fish, tempura to the rolls. The place is not overly swanky but can pass for a date place, also a business meal, or even family with kids I'd say. But what really makes this place hum are the reasonable prices compared to the caliber of the food. My group had a lovely time and will definitely return!
Wook C — Google review
Great little place, the food was high quality and delicious prices were actually pretty manageable. So fun with friends and service was quick. The highlights for us were the pork belly, the kaze roll, and the sashimi platter.

Informal dining. Bar area was popular. $200 for 2 people with a $50 bottle of wine. Seems to be the going cost in Parkcity Fried green tomato salad was excellent. Large portions. Interesting menu.
Glue G — Google review
I'm a certified Sommolier level 2 and Weset 3 diploma holder and love going to local places when I travel and I'm no stranger to park city and it's nice offerings! The decor and vibe of the place is very comfortable and while the staff might not be super educated in their food/drinks list they are good with food/drink recommendations and give you a warm smile with fast service. Started with Champagne for the table and they don't have the best glass wear for the wines they carry but that doesn't matter too much...she opened that cork silently and provided me with an ice bucket so I was pleased. Service is fast and the food is fantastic with solid presentations, was also nice we were easily seated as a larger party. The sourdough bread for the table is so soft and very tasty. The Snakeriver Filet is absolutely delicious so much flavor and was perfectly medium rare (melts in your mouth), I also asked for the green beans which were excellent. The Dreamloaf is also very good but wow that Cream spinach is maybe the best I've ever had! The crispy pork belly dumplings are tasty with a fitting sauce. I think one of the most surprising things was the freshness of the sushi, the menu has so much variety but it was actually all good having ordered quite a few different things. Also they use real wasabi not horseradish and the sauces were pleasing to all the options we had on the table. Dessert list is better than almost every other average restaurant with lots of solid coffee and dessert wine options! My god the frozen lemon pie is so good, the lychee sorbet is divine and the Coffee ice cream with the brownie is just a perfect paring. Overall, this is a great place lots of variety with great options, good wines, and friendly service that is quick. Only thing that I didn't like was the cocktails that did get ordered specifically the espresso martini was not good, the old fashioned was fine just not great.
Wyatt A — Google review
Love this place! Our server, Christine from Romania was highly knowledgeable about the diverse menu and she was just delightful. Since we are fortunate to have excellent sushi back east, we did not know what to expect. Our two rolls were large and delicious and so were the cauliflower dish and pork dumplings. My husband had the banana foster and he enjoyed it. I finished my meal with the cucumber salad. We liked this place so much that we were quick to make another reservation during our stay in Park City.
Babette L — Google review
It was great to have options for gluten free that include tempura. The tempura veggies were nice, but the standout for our meal was the power bowl. It has a great flavor with high quality fish, and a nice crunch while remaining gluten free. Unfortunately, the sushi didn't come out great for us. The rice was over compressed, making every roll tough with an almost paste-like consistency. The staff were great to take care of this issue that we had, and I would come back again, just not for sushi.
Ryan H — Google review
We have ate here several times and love it! The specials have been really great and all of the sushi is really great as well. We usually get the funky roll and lollipop roll and they always hit the spot! Their bakes are really amazing as is the sourdough bread. The ambiance is really nice and it isn't overly loud. Highly recommend the blind dog as a great place for dinning in small groups, large groups or by yourself. Still one of the best sushi places in Park City! Great environment, great staff and great food!
Riley A — Google review
5 stars all around except for the price. We will not be returning because the prices have become absurd and take all the fun out of dining out. One SMALL crab cake for $25, and two small cheesesteak egg rolls for $19 is just completely out of line. This is not inflation or supply chains but just sheer greed with a captive tourist population.
Thomas S — Google review
The food was incredible from start to finish, amazing oysters, creative sushi rolls and the Apps also fantastic. Solid selection of local beers as well. Service was also amazing and loved the outdoor dog friendly patio as well are camping and can only eat at dog friendly places. A must stop for a great meal and also live music when in Park City!

Guests can choose to dine in the casual dining room or opt for a more intimate experience in the traditional area with lower tables. Tona has by far the best sushi in the state! Nothing ever comes close to the wonderful atmosphere, service, and the outstanding flavors of the dishes they offer! Perched on the 10th floor of the Cliff Lodge, The Aerie is a renowned restaurant offering upscale American cuisine and an extensive wine list. Guests can enjoy breathtaking mountain views through enormous windows while savoring award-winning fine dining and exceptional service. The restaurant also features a sushi bar with sensational offerings, as well as more affordable options like burgers.
Breathtaking Views, but Falls Short on Culinary Experience Aerie at Snowbird boasts some of the most stunning mountain views you’ll find in Utah. Perched high above the ski resort, the restaurant’s expansive windows and elevated location provide a breathtaking backdrop that makes you feel like you’re dining in the clouds. The cozy fireplace adds a warm, inviting touch, especially on a chilly evening. The ambience is nothing short of magical, creating an ideal setting for a romantic dinner or special celebration. However, while the atmosphere excels, the food and service leave much to be desired. The menu, though ambitious, struggles to deliver on its promise. The dishes we tried were mediocre at best, with flavors that felt underwhelming and portions that didn’t quite justify the premium pricing. Service was equally lackluster, with long wait times and a noticeable lack of attentiveness from the staff. That said, Aerie might still be worth a visit for the views and the overall experience, especially if you’re looking for a unique location to unwind after a day on the slopes. But if culinary excellence is a priority, you might want to temper your expectations—or explore other dining options at Snowbird. With its prime location and unparalleled views, Aerie has immense potential, but it would greatly benefit from a focus on elevating its food and service.
Ryan H — Google review
The Aerie at Cliff Lodge offers breathtaking views that truly elevate the dining experience. Sitting high above Snowbird, the panoramic scenery is undeniably the highlight of the visit. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite match the setting. The menu felt limited, and the dishes we tried lacked the expected depth of flavor. The crème brûlée was disappointing, missing the rich, creamy texture and caramelized top that makes it a classic. The burger, while decent, was surprisingly under-seasoned—no salt, no pepper, no real kick. Service was another challenge. Our waiter was doing their best, but they were the only one managing the entire restaurant at the time. Eventually, someone stepped in to assist, but the delay was noticeable. Would I return? Probably not. While the ambiance is spectacular, the food and service didn’t leave a lasting impression. If you're visiting for the view, it’s worth a stop—but if you're looking for a memorable meal, you might want to explore other options.
Wa Q — Google review
Y’all, don’t listen to the other reviews. This place is wonderful! You just need to ask the waiter/waitress what they recommend/don’t recommend! We got the beet carpaccio, carrot ginger lemongrass soup, and wagyu steak. The carpaccio was absolutely delicious - creamy cheese and balsamic-soaked beets. The wagyu was melt-in-your-mouth, super flavorful, and was perfectly paired with the asparagus. The soup was our least favorite but it went great with the fresh sourdough rolls. The view is also incredible, and the prices are reasonable if you don’t get two entrees (which you shouldn’t, as what we got was plenty already!)
Jacob R — Google review
Excellent food, and an extensive wine selection, but summer service can be a bit spotty.
Ben V — Google review
The restaurant offers a fancy ambiance perfect for enjoying the fall foliage. While the service could be friendlier, the food and drinks were top-notch. However, the prices are on the higher side, and larger portion sizes would be appreciated.
Inna — Google review
First of all, they don’t have frozen strawberry daiquiris or piña coladas, which is ridiculous at such a fancy restaurant. Also, for such a fancy restaurant, the food they give you is big enough to feed a bird. I got the Caesar salad and it was probably big enough to feed my toddler 2 year-old baby and it cost $16!. The lobster bisque had absolutely no lobster in it except for one tiny little bite of a claw that they throw in there at the beginning otherwise it tasted like opening up a can of tomato soup. I waited over 30 minutes to get my ice water refilled and they don’t give enough butter for all the bread that they give You . Way way way overpriced for the food that they give you the restaurant downstairs 71 has much better food, service and prices
Gretchen G — Google review

Had a great time here with my group of 8. Gratuity for large groups is automatically added to the check, so keep that in mind. Service was awesome--we had two waiters help us and they were polite and funny! The ambiance is nice as you're on the top floor of the Cliff Lodge, so the view of the mountains adds to the experience. Really yummy rolls with butter and oil/balsamic are included. All the dishes flavors are well thought out and the presentation was fantastic!

Such a wonderful restaurant! The sushi is fresh and drool-worthy, and service is awesome. Luke was our waiter, and he made our night! If you would like some spicy sushi, just ask for it and they will bring it to you. The chef was kind enough to make a special hot 🔥 batch for us. Don't make the mistake of then dipping that roll in the habanero dipping sauce... Lovely seating and ambience with the waitress doing a super attentive good job. Food was very well prepared and presented. Make sure your wallet is ready for the dent.

We really enjoyed eating at Tsunami restaurant and sushi bar. I got the steak and it was delicious. I didn’t care for the Udon noodles. The Jenny was our favorite sushi roll. We did not like the gluten-free Isaac roll. Most restaurants dessert is not worth it. Tsunami brownie is absolutely worth it. Unfortunately ours was burnt on the end and not edible, but it was so delicious. It was worth it.

Outstanding service and food! We made a reservation for my daughter’s birthday dinner and couldn’t have been more satisfied with the experience. They surprised us and put my daughter’s favorites into a roll. We’ve never actually had this luxury before, so you can say they made her food dream come true! Our server was extraordinary, I feel horrible I can’t remember his name as this meal took place sometime ago. Thank you to everyone who made it a special night for us!

The Tsunami near our house had a long wait, so we tried another location. It was gorgeous inside! You would never know looking outside. The food is always great! I was recommended a new roll and I really liked it, but I can't remember the name. It was a roll similar to Jenny but with trout I stead of salmon. Everything was delicious and fresh. Always a great choice, but my daughter had an allergic reaction at this location.

I moved here after living in Japan for 4 years, and Tsunami's sushi hits the spot 🔥. The quality of fish is fresh and rice is decent. The combo of flavors and specialty rolls are great. They have a good variety of non sushi items + gluten free options too. Only con I would say is that it can be pricey. But sometimes you need to pay up for freshness and quality. I've had several poor sushi experiences in Utah and Tsunami isn't one of them. Go and enjoy! Rolls I like... The executive, Cococabana, Something Tropical, etc.

Nestled in the heart of Utah, The Tree Room is a charming eatery owned by Robert Redford that offers an enchanting dining experience with stunning mountain views. This rustic gem serves upscale American cuisine, showcasing seasonal ingredients and artistic presentations. A highlight on the menu is Chef Jason Knibbs' seafood trio appetizer, featuring exquisite sushi-grade tuna sashimi, a perfectly seared scallop accompanied by apple coulis and celery salad, and a succulent Australian prawn paired with a vibrant citrus salad.
We had a wonderful experience! The atmosphere was inviting, the food was excellent, and the service couldn’t have been better—everyone was so friendly and welcoming.

The food here truly is delicious! It is obvious that the meats are high quality. However, this also means that this place is pretty expensive (expect to pay at least $200 for 2 people). They also have a vegetarian entree item that is highly recommended (unfortunately I did not try it, so I cannot give my review on it). They even give you the pretties chocolates after for everyone in your group as a parting gift! What we ordered: * Fig goat cheese salad * Pork Belly * King salmon * Steak * Elk * Chocolate Toffee Cake * Plum dessert

The most expensive dinner me and my wife have ever had, but it was a fun time nonetheless. Probably won't do it again because we spent $200 there, It was fun to do a fine dining full course meal. The steak I had was definitely the best steak I ever had, and the mocktails were very refreshing. Everything was delicious though, the only thing that wasn't a perfect five was the Thai green curry and seafood bisque, My only complaint being that it was not nearly enough green curry in it to even taste it and it was mostly just a seafood bisque. The atmosphere was absolutely incredible, probably the most notable difference between a fine dining experience and anything else. The service was also really good, but we thought we would have more frequent table visits with how little people were there. Had to wait a while for a service to come back to our table. Overall though, it was a fun time and I'm glad we did it, even if we can't afford to go back again.

We had the best time on Saturday. The host gave us a nice and quiet booth for our party of 2. We lived the service from our server Tanya Apps: we had the crab rillette and the pork belly. Both were delicious. My husband and I could not align on the best one, although the crab rillette felt more unique Mains: we had the elk and the duck breast. Both delicious. The steak would have been our 3rd choice, classic dish always on the menu As of summer 2025, the parking situation is a bit tricky due to the construction. We opted for valet parking but was surprised they wouldn't do parking validation at a place like Tree room where we spent over $300 for 2. It certainly felt "nickel and diming" especially sicne comparative establishments will definitely include valet parking with dine-in guests (eg. Montage or St. Regis Deer Valley)

To put it basically, went here with some coworkers and the food was good, but not great. The service was good, but not great, and the atmosphere was food. The Parsnip and apple soup and the wagyu cheeks were by far the best things. The bread they served was really good too(and was probably why I ended up full). My pepper steak was medium, not medium rare, but was still good, but not great. Portions seemed fairly small on pretty much everything but the bread, although I did end up being full at the end. Nothing was bad enough to complain about while I was there though, as that always interrupts having good conversation. The service was really good at times and really slow at times. We got there at 5 PM and we were done eating at 7:30. Which would be fine if that's how the pacing turned out, but we waiting a long time on our entrees and again a long time on desert. But the pacing on the appetizers and soups/salads was really good. They only refilled my drink once, which was empty a while before we left. I'm not sure I would have had more to drink, but they didn't offer. They had the windows blocked off because of the construction outside the window, which really hurt the atmosphere. It was also on the cool side, which also detracted some. If the prices were cheaper, I would have given it at least a 4 star instead of 3, but their high prices definitely hurt the rating.
Stephen M — Google review
Food was incredible, Michelin star quality. I could bathe in the lobster gnocchi 😂. Service and ambiance were both great. The grounds were beautiful after dark. My only minor complaint is that the grounds are in the process of being expanded, so you walk through a bit of a construction zone to reach the restaurant. Definitely plan some time walking the rest of the grounds before or after dinner though - quite magical!
Joe H — Google review
Had a great experience here for dinner. Small restaurant, very rustic and intimate setting. Really quiet. Enjoyed the mushroom soup, and apple strawberry salad. For our entree, we enjoyed the famous pepper steak (filet), and the duck breast with a birria tostada. We preferred the pepper steak, but both dishes were tasty.

We braved the snow to eat at The Tree Room last night, and it was absolutely worth it! The variety of flavors and textures on every plate made each dish feel like an experience. We ordered the Elk Osso Buco and Rabbit Confit for our main course. I was amazed at how tender the meat was, while the accompanying garnishes were both beautiful and delicious. It's obvious that Chef Diane and the rest of the kitchen staff take great pride in their work! The ambiance was warm and inviting. Haylee took great care of us and was so friendly, and other patrons were in baseball caps and fine jewelry alike, so there was no feeling out of place. There's so much more that could be said, but I highly recommend experiencing it for yourself. I can't wait to visit again!

Ramen restaurant
Restaurant
Tosh's Ramen-State Street is a popular spot in Salt Lake City, offering a variety of ramen options including vegetarian choices with vegan noodle alternatives. The owner, Toshio Sekikawa, has a strong background in the Utah dining scene and brings his expertise to this low-key eatery. In addition to ramen, the menu features appetizers and small plates, as well as sushi for those looking for a different culinary experience.
Tosh ramen has always been my go to ramen place in SLC. I have tried many ramen places in town but nothing compare to TOSH. Service is a hit or miss but the food has always been consistent. Simple and hearty broth with perfect portion and well seasoned egg. My favorite is their Karai ramen with the seasoned Shiitake mushroom. Chef Kiss!!!
Vivian D — Google review
I recently visited Tosh’s ramen restaurant and tried their spicy tonkotsu ramen, which was very good. The flavor was rich and tasty. While the restaurant itself isn’t the most aesthetically pleasant place, it definitely serves its purpose: delivering hearty, flavorful ramen that hits the spot. Overall, it’s a great choice if you’re looking for quality ramen and don’t mind a simple environment.
Hibraim R — Google review
The appetizers were good, we ordered the chicken teriyaki and spring rolls. Chicken tasted great but the portion was a little small even for an app, the spring rolls were nice and crispy. The tonkotsu ramen was just okay. The broth could've been more flavorful and they only give you half an egg which seems a little stingy. But overall a decent bowl of ramen for $13. The atmosphere inside is very simple. Cheap chairs and tables and no artwork or decor on the walls. The service was good and food came out quickly. Overall I'd come back and try more dishes but this won't be a regular spot for me.
Willow — Google review
While Tosh’s Ramen has a strong reputation for its flavorful and authentic ramen, vegetarian options are somewhat limited. I opted for the spring rolls, which were fresh and well-prepared, but I would have loved to see more variety for plant-based diners. That said, my friends ordered the curry ramen and original ramen, and they couldn’t stop raving about them! The broth was rich and deeply satisfying, and the balance of flavors seemed to hit all the right notes. The atmosphere was cozy, and service was attentive, making for an enjoyable dining experience overall. If you're a ramen lover looking for bold and comforting flavors, Tosh’s seems to deliver—just keep in mind that vegetarian options are sparse.
Marquis E — Google review
Super delicious! Wife and I each had different ramen dishes and different teas (definitely shared ONE bite tho) and we couldn't decide which one of us had the best combo. The flavor, the noodle ratio, the meat quality, the price point, all of it was perfect! We saved this to our Favorites list because we'll for sure be back! Great place, great taste, great service, and great price. We had all of our food in less than 5mins after placing our orders. No complaints here!
Juan F — Google review
i ordered through door dash the amount was less than acceptable for a $19 ramen bowl. i ordered a side of noodles and i had to ask for a refund. They should quality check the food before delivery because this reflects poorly on the business.
MakingMoves — Google review
Okay, real talk—Tosh’s Ramen is that spot. From the outside, it’s nothing fancy. Like, you might drive past it and think, “Eh…” But don’t sleep on it. The moment you take that first slurp of broth? Game over. It’s rich, flavorful, and straight-up comforting. The noodles? Perfect texture. Not too soft, not too firm—just right. This place is all about the food, not the aesthetics. And honestly? I respect that. It’s giving “hole-in-the-wall heaven” energy, and I’m here for it. If you’re craving a solid bowl of ramen that hits every time, go give Tosh’s a try. You’ll walk out full, happy, and already planning your next visit.
Sylvia J — Google review
Tosh used to have the penultimate spicy pork ramen in Utah; however, quality of the bowl has incrementally gone down every year since the pandemic. It is still a good bowl, but it’s just nothing close to what it used to be. Makes me wonder if the original chefs/owners have been gone for a while and replaced completely.

The small yet airy space features a cityscape mural, creating a pleasant dining atmosphere. Visitors rave about the quality of the sushi and other Japanese dishes, with highlights including the Idaho roll and the TNT roll served sizzling in tin foil. The restaurant's well-managed dining room and attentive staff contribute to an overall great dining experience.
This place has amazing sushi! There is so much variety and flavor. We came on a Monday night and it was really busy for a weekday. The food came really fast as well! We ordered the TNT which comes out wrapped in a foil with fire. It was such a great experience, good service, and a beautiful atmosphere! Highly recommend and will make this my new sushi spot.

This place will be a new family favorite for sure!! It’s cute and clean and the staff is super friendly!! We got appetizers and rolls and everything was delicious! We got the gyoza and veggie tempura and got the rolls we enjoyed the: Hollywood, Dragon, TNT, Draper, Vegas, and Beach! If you love sushi and are in the area, don’t hesitate to try this place!

Went in today to have some sushi and with the amount of sushi places around, thought it wouldn't be that full but this place was packed and I can see why. The service was amazing and the staff was very kind and friendly. The sushi was amazing, from the flavor to the plating. Definitely going back for the Musseel shooters with the Quail egg was shockingly good.

My experience at Wasabi Sushi was EXCELLENT. The food, service, and ambiance were all exceptional. My favorite dishes were James, Samurai, and TNT rolls. And their Agedashi tofu and Pepper Jack were phenomenal! Highly recommend!!

Wasabi has Utah's sneaky best Sushi. You can go to the more well known places and pay 50% more. Or you can come here, get served quickly, eat great sushi, and be on your way whenever you feel full. You can see the rolls prepared right in front of you, so you know they're fresh, made to order. Try the TNT, Cowboy or the Coco. You won't be disappointed.
Adam B — Google review
This restaurant has the best sushi rolls from any restaurant I have ever eaten at. Top roll choices in no particular order: - TNT - Valentine - Kill Bill - Coco - Idaho - April (this is very difficult BTW as I rarely encounter a roll here that doesn't knock it out of the park!) Updating and adding: - Hollywood (light and fresh) - Volcano (fresh, crunchy, good spice 😋)

Fuji Sushi, located in Centerville, is a cozy strip-mall venue that offers a wide selection of Japanese dishes, including creative sushi rolls and sashimi. The restaurant provides a relaxing atmosphere where you can unwind and indulge in delicious sushi while sipping on quality coffee and tea. Visitors rave about the fresh and well-balanced flavors of the sushi rolls and prawns, as well as the delightful variety of options available.
The food was absolutely amazing. One of the best places for sushi and sashimi. Everything was fresh. The King Roll is one of the best we've ever had. All the flavors were amazing the manager took the time out to make the roll himself for us. The Tempura Banana was so yummy. We will definitely be back. Staff was so sweet and we're on top of it. Very rare to find now days

They offer excellent fried items like tempura and tonkatsu. The veggie udon is surprisingly good. Even though I'm not a vegetarian, I really enjoy this dish. The rolls we ordered (dragon roll, rainbow roll, spider roll) were just okay.

Good was great, no complaints at all despite living in a land locked state. The booth we were in was really dim, so the point it was hard to see the menu. There was a dimmer switch in the booth for the light but it was all the way up already.

Fuji Sushi is hands down the best sushi restaurant I’ve ever been to—truly a hidden gem and an absolute must-try! Every dish is consistently fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The quality of the ingredients is unmatched, and you can tell the chefs take pride in every roll. On top of that, the service is outstanding—warm, attentive, and always makes you feel genuinely valued as a guest. I’ve never had a single bad experience here. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would—15/10 recommend! Fuji Sushi sets the standard for what a sushi experience should be.

I use to love going here but the past couple of times seem to be different food experience. The sushi was decent, but not good or great when I ate there yesterday. I took order of chicken fried rice to go and finally eating up to eat it…I said no onions and there is nothing but boiled white rice, eggs, and chunks of chicken. Nothing seasoned other than the chunks of chicken. Rice doesn’t even taste fried just boiled and there is a strange taste all together.

The service was fabulous! The place is clean and cute. We ordered the Snow mountain salmon cream cheese mango. It was amazing! The TNT has crab shrimp jalapeno cream cheese and is a favorite. We love the Dessert cheesecake, banana, kiwi and strawberry and of course the Vegas salmon avocado cucumber spicy mayo. Fuji Sushi is a favorite!

Same sushi is a hip and trendy sushi restaurant with modern vibes. The rolls are creative and delicious, the presentation is expressive, and the quality is excellent. The martinis are also a hit!
It was my first time here and I loved it!!! The sushi was delicious and the atmosphere was great. Our server Roman was awesome! He was very polite and attentive. Will definitely be coming back!

Same Sushi has a wonderful environment and sushi is served uniquely on a cut wooden block. The food was very delicious with reasonable prices. Their signature rolls were around $13 as the other more common rolls were around $9-$11 For the dessert we tried their deep fried cheesecake. I will say although it was still good, I would much prefer just a good ol’ regular cheesecake.
Caleb K — Google review
I always thought there were 5 types of sushi: mind-blowing, good but served at very trendy place so its over-priced beyond belief, standard/fine, fear-of-getting-sick, and grocery store level (ok when very hungry and potentially is pasturized like the raw oysters at Hooters). I have never had this type of sushi: looked great, checked all the boxes, omakase option, special fish, chef creations, and then tasted like nothing. The rice tasted like nothing even, it was all bland. Even the hamachi with jalapeños app. We left a lot of food. Great price on sake. Quality of fish and portions all looked great. Oyster shooters not what i expected, it is a chopped up oyster. The server was the sushi chef, he was great, friendly and very knowledgeable about the dishes, but as you can imagine having him cover the floor is difficult for the process: greeting table, taking order, checking on other table, then going to make the food... It wasn't busy when we went. I suspected the owners were there talking at a table with someone,; they did not even stir to assist chef with serving even after their guest left or glance at any of the tables. A different person had arrived to cash us out by the end. It was just disappointing.
Christin D — Google review
Hip sushi restaurant with modern vibe. Creative and delicious rolls. Expressive presentation, flavor, and quality. Recommend the Lotus roll wrapped in cucumber, Tokyo Drift, Jungle Fever, Seduction and the Same roll topped with lemon. Excellent seaweed and squid salad too. The sashimi martini rocked!
Lisa J — Google review
It has decent taste sushi. It might be better if the rice had a little bit more of moist because it was dry. The menu has interesting names for its sushi like True Texan, Chicken Spring, Color Me Fancy, just to name a few. Personally, I enjoyed Jupiter roll. I came to dine on Friday night and the atmosphere here was a bit quieter than average sushi restaurants in downtown.
Karen ( — Google review
Near downtown location, at least the ample of free parking. This place the deco is very nice and comfortable. The food portion is generous and prices are reasonable. Other than the tuna, the other raw pieces are fresh.
Alpha — Google review
Absolutely delicious! I expected ordinary, and was surprised with excellence. I ordered the " 2 basic rolls and miso soup" and received more than I bargained I would receive at only $10. We also ordered the "Chirachi Sushi"; again, absolutely magnificent and beautiful as well, for only $17.50. The down side. I must first preface this with the downsides are minimal, but for that level of epicurean delight, I expect more on the other side. 1. We were told we could sit anywhere. We chose the corner booth behind the curtain and was told no. Very few people were there and no one had it reserved. 2. When sitting in the booth, please be super skinny because you will be unable to comfortably fit. It's a tight squeeze and that did affect my overall pleasure. They do have seats in the middle, but that is not my preference. 3. I asked for mochi. No mochi. Eh, the freezer was broken. That is understandable. Overall, nice ambiance, great food and just a few little things to fix. I will definitely be returning again. It is well worth the visit.

Just in for the night for a quick business meeting and wanted to go somewhere close. The sushi was really good, CJ is an excellent manager and took care of service and is very warm and kind. Quick service and great pricing, keep it this way I'll keep coming back. By far my favorite was the delicious vegetable tempura. I've never had carrot tempura or broccoli crowns but they are now my new favorite. Good quality and atmosphere for the price.

Chopfuku Sushi Bar and Asian Fusion is a pan-Asian restaurant with an experienced resident chef offering a variety of dishes including sushi, soups, and noodles. The restaurant has received positive feedback for its clean and pleasantly decorated ambiance. Customers have praised the quality of the food, particularly highlighting the toro roll as a favorite. The establishment is known for its fresh and flavorful offerings, including sushi tacos, specialty rolls, sashimi, and nigiri.
I had a wonderful dining experience at this Japanese restaurant. The environment is elegant, comfortable, and very inviting, creating a perfect ambiance for enjoying a meal. The food was fresh and delicious, showcasing authentic flavors. The presentation was also beautiful, adding to the overall enjoyment. The only slight disappointment was that two of the dishes I was looking forward to, including sea urchin, were not available that day. Nonetheless, I was very satisfied with the other offerings and the attentive service. I look forward to visiting again and trying more of their menu!
Anna L — Google review
I recently visited Chopfuku and had a great overall experience. I ordered the Sashimi Tasting, Bento with Rib, Dragon Fry Roll, and the Best of the Best Roll. The Sashimi Tasting was absolutely the highlight of the meal. The quality of the fish was top-notch—fresh, buttery, and beautifully presented. It really impressed me and is definitely something I’d come back for. The rib in the bento was also excellent—very tender and flavorful. As for the rolls, I had high hopes for the Dragon Fry Roll and Best of the Best Roll, but personally, I found them a bit bland compared to the rest of the dishes. They weren’t bad by any means, just not as bold in flavor as I expected. That said, presentation of the Best of the Best roll was excellent. It came with wood smoke! One of the surprising parts of the experience was the interior design. From the outside, the place looks pretty unassuming, but the moment you step inside, it feels like a completely different world. The atmosphere is warm, stylish, and slightly upscale without being intimidating. It’s a great place for both casual dinners and special nights out. Service was also very good—friendly staff, prompt attention, and overall a smooth dining experience.

The setting is great - very pretty and good parking. Gelato was fantastic! They have unique rolls, which I appreciate. The sushi was good as well. Unfortunately, I did bite into a very hard, wide but thin fish bone while enjoying my sushi roll, specifically the Heaven roll. It was about an inch long. That definitely made this experience slightly negative.

A new West Jordan gem! The fish was fresh and delicious. The menu has some unique rolls and classics. We really enjoyed the UK and Angry Bird rolls. The service was excellent and pricing was very reasonable. They were out of the 2 matcha flavored desserts we wanted to try so we didn’t order dessert, but they brought us a different one on the house anyway. That was generous! We will definitely be back.

While we liked our food. I don’t think we loved any one thing. I do suspect there is an offering on the menu that would blow our minds… Just need to find “our thing“. Soy's Sushi Bar & Grill is a delightful destination for sushi lovers, offering an array of eclectic rolls and beautifully crafted Japanese dishes in a chic, minimalist setting that exudes a relaxed atmosphere. Renowned for its classic offerings like the shrimp tempura and negihama rolls, this restaurant excels at delivering tightly rolled sushi that maintains its integrity even during takeout.
The food, waitress, and overall atmosphere were great. The service was a bit slow, likely because there was only one chef, but that was understandable since the place wasn’t very busy. The rolls are priced around $15, which is reasonable. However, if you plan to order more than one roll, along with drinks or desserts, the cost can quickly add up to $30 or more, making it a pricier dining experience.

We had a great experience here. The server was extremely attentive. We didn't eat the Miso soup we ordered as we thought it was too salty. No biggie. But without asking for it, the server brought out another soup the chef remade for us that was perfect. We ordered the Lollipop roll and the Godzilla roll. Both were fantastic, but would highly recommend the Lollipop. One of my favorite sushi rolls I have had. Would definitely recommend this place for a nice sushi night out.

The service was extremely slow and inattentive. I initially thought all the food was too salty but we realized it was the soy sauce. I’m not sure if they made their own but I had difficulty eating my food after adding soy sauce to the fried rice and the sushi. The sodas were also flat and so the coke tasted like it had been sitting out for some time. I though the price points were really reasonable for what we ordered.

These guys used to be really good. Now their burritos are pretty much meatless. I am not going there anymore. It seems like for a couple years they are they made amazing burritos. Not only are they meatless now, they just don’t have a lot of flavoring anymore. Here’s a picture of the meat at cross sectional area is a quarter inch and it’s like that all the way through. It used to be three times that much. It’s really sad because we used to enjoy this place. But they just lost their touch.
Brent G — Google review
This location used to be really good but it has completely tanked. The one in downtown SLC is so much better. They’ve cut out more than half of their menu and aren’t making what they on there very well.
Izzy R — Google review
I decided to try this place because of good reviews. The burrito was alright, I thought the portion was small for me - not too small, but smaller than I expected. I ordered Vegas roll and half of the rice was white and other other half was in brown sauce - it tasted lime soy sauce with some other sweet sauce. They put cream cheese, avocado, lettuce, cucumber, crab, and salmon. It tastes exactly like what you would imagine - nothing too special, nothing really bad either, just all those ingredients together. They give you a pack of soy sauce and some ginger, and if you need more soy sauce it's a self-service. Water is a self-service as well. I will say the portion itself is bigger than a roll of sushi, but it's harder to eat than sushi. When you take a bite, ingredients like lettuce and cucumbers come out and the rice kind of falls off if you're not careful. The store is kind of old and only one person was working when I went. The same person who helped with payment also made the sushi burrito. They make it right in front of you. The place didn't look too clean but it wasn't too dirty either. The worker was nice and had a good service. When you walk in the door, you will face the cashier right away. The payment is done with iPad and they have tap pay option as well. You can give this place a try if you want - but don't expect too much.

Incredible! This place is probably the best kept secret of Provo. It's tucked away, but it's worth the little adventure you have to take to get to it. The portion sizes are always enough to share and for $1 more you can deep fry any recipe. Having tried 90% of the burrito menu and enjoyed each one, but the Vegas deep fried is amazing. It's got such a diverse amount of ingredients that each bite has a new flavor and the bonus is that half is really filling. The prices are fair considering the ingredients are fresh and each item is made to order. The seating area is limited, but the food makes up for it. If you like sushi and are up for a fun twist I highly recommend visiting this little shop tucked away in the heart of historic Provo.

So this location had us questioning our life choices that day. But looks can be deceiving. I got the Las Vegas roll and this thing was the size of a huge zucchini. I was only able to eat half. But that thing was falling out both ends. Me and my colleagues had a lot of “that’s what he said” and “that’s what she said” jokes for a while. It was soooooooo filling. My two male colleagues ate theirs I could only eat half but that’s because I’m going on vacation in a couple weeks. Gotta have that summer body in spring. If not I would have continued to gorge my face in absolute sushi heaven.

Ok loved this. So yummy! I got the Vegas burrito and it was exactly what I was hoping for. Well made, great flavors. They are a little understaffed I think so it takes a bit of time but not too bad.

What an awesome idea for food. Sushi made into a burrito? Delicious! A real nice find and really great selection of food! The only reason there's no picture is cause i was hungry and inhaled it, hehe.

Sur La Table is a well-known chain retailer offering a wide range of high-quality cooking and dining supplies as well as home decor. The store also hosts an array of cooking classes, catering to various interests and skill levels. These classes provide an opportunity for participants to learn from experienced chefs in a fun and engaging environment. Customers have praised the personalized experience of small class sizes, allowing for one-on-one interaction with the chef.
An unforgettable experience with Chef Nicholas! I recently took a cooking class with Chef Nicholas, and WOW—what an incredible experience! Not only is he super informative and skilled, but he's also hilarious and makes learning so much fun. The pace of the class was just right, and he made sure everyone—no matter their skill level—felt included and engaged the whole time. One of the highlights? He taught us a brilliant mincing technique that I’ve already used twice in my own kitchen! It’s rare to walk away from a class feeling both empowered and entertained, but Chef Nicholas nailed it. Can’t recommend his classes enough—I’ll definitely be signing up for another one!

Chef Cori was interactive and informative. We loved her. The food was amazing. Instructions were easy and straight forward. We left with lots of cooking hacks for home. We would definitely do date night again.

Chef Nick was AMAZING!!! His presentation and his knowledge was beyond. I have signed up for his bread class with my best friend and we are so excited!!! Can’t wait to learn more from him, he truly made it so easy but so fun and the food was amazing!!

3 stars because we did manage to have a good time, but the French Bistro Date Night cooking class was overall pretty disappointing. The knives were extremely dull, our tart was undercooked with a raw crust, and we were given a half portion of a chicken thigh each for our entree (despite the entire rest of class getting full size servings). On top of all that, we didn’t really learn anything - we and others in the class asked the chef for tips on how to prep herbs, specifics for how to cut onions for different dishes, etc and were continually rebuffed with terse non-answers. It overall felt as though the chef would have preferred to not be there. The food turned out well otherwise and it was fun to do for a night out, but for $90 a person, it was pretty disappointing and certainly fell flat compared to cooking classes at other locations.

Korean restaurant
Nestled in the vibrant Central Ninth neighborhood, Bar Nohm is a culinary gem that perfectly embodies the spirit of social dining. Drawing inspiration from the Korean concept of anju, this trendy spot offers a delightful array of dishes designed to complement drinks and foster camaraderie. With its inviting patio, guests can soak up the lively atmosphere while indulging in expertly crafted cocktails and mouthwatering bites.
My favorite spot in Salt Lake! Bar Nohm never disappoints. The food is incredible every time. The fried tofu is my absolute favorite (the bartenders even know it’s my go-to!), perfect portion and full of flavor. Every dish is creative and beautifully balanced, and the cocktails pair perfectly. The shiso dessert is a must have every time! The team is always so welcoming and you can tell they really care about what they do. I can’t recommend it enough!
Maddie V — Google review
This was recommended to me by a local and it definitely is easy to miss. Sort of on the edge of the city, in an area with not much around it. This Bar features a small but incredibly flavorful menu. I started with the sesame noodles and the flavor is just perfect. The noodles have a hint of sweet to it but complimented by the meat and the Sichuan peppers and it all comes together in such a great way. The baby octopus was the standout though. However if you are a picky eater or sensitive to texture I would not recommend. But the flavor of the sauce and the paddies is just out of this world. It just overwhelms you in the best way. The bar tenders were super friendly and right there to help out. It’s fairly small but a cool atmosphere that would also make it a great spot for a night cap or meet up with friends.
Eric D — Google review
SO 👏 GOOD 👏 Vibe was amazing, drinks were so unique but also delicious, and FANTASTIC food. We had the sesame noodles, karaage, and the fried tofu. Sesame noodles were my personal favorite. Karaage were so fantastic though, it was like a moist rotisserie chicken in chicken nugget form but better lol. I love that they rotate their drink menu every 3 months! The drinks this time had a few “cake” themed ones. My favorite was definitely the owner, with the little pineapple cake on top. Also amazing was the passion of the rice, guava margarita, and leaf me alone. Funfetti wap was the only one I didn’t love. The cake foam was bomb but the drink itself tasted too almost sour to me. 100/10 experience, will be going back!
Heidi H — Google review
Favorite spot in salt lake, hands down. Bar Nohm is the heart of the Granary district and it’s the best place to take friends who have never been. The cocktails change often and are very creative and fun. For how great the ambiance is, the food doesn’t have to be good, but it’s also incredible. The sesame noodles or fried karage are incredible dishes. The staff are super friendly and you can tell everyone genuinely enjoys working there and adding to the great vibe. Sitting on the patio and people watching is the best. Wish there were more places in SLC like this!
John G — Google review
This was a fantastic meal. The standouts were the oden and kushiyaki. The Asian pear salad was also delicious. The only thing I probably wouldn’t order again was the spicy baby octopus, just because I find gochujang-based sauces to be sort of one-note. But even then the baby octopus was impossibly tender. My mocktail—a spicy, citrus-y number—was actually interesting and not just a glass of gussied-up juice. The space is intimate without being cramped, and the decor is eclectic. Service was top-notch. I’d come here again in a heartbeat to happily eat my way through the rest of the menu.
K. S — Google review
There was so many things to choose. I wanted to try all of them but I eventually got too full.. every item I had was amazing, they all had unique flavors. There were a few items that I did want to try but they were already sold out, I'm not sure if that is a regular thing (hopefully not). I also heard they switch menus from time to time soooo... I cannot wait to return again!! Now the cons: It definitely feels super over priced for the food. A beef skewer had 4 pieces of bite size beef for $8, that's $2 a bite. Drink, I know very little about so I'll not comment on it. Portion size is small that's why I ordered a lot. Plates sizes were the size of an average hand I will say, it's probably more of a bar than a dine in restaurant, where you order full meals. Next time when I return I'll probably have some dinner or food ahead and come enjoy a few bites here instead. Something that I would recommend others do as well.

One of our absolute favorite places in SLC! Food is delicious, service always goes above and beyond, and the atmosphere is cozy and well decorated. They have a ton of unique drink selections as well as fun mocktails. The highlight of our meal is always the bluefin tuna sashimi, steak skewers and the sesame noodles! These are constants in our order when we visit, but we also love the baby octopus & karaage. You really can’t go wrong with most things on the menu! This place gets busy, especially on the weekends, so make a reservation if possible to secure a seat! Our photos don’t due this place justice, but it’s well worth the visit & may become a staple in your restaurant favs.

Amazing!! Bar Nohm is always a good experience whether getting food, just drinks, or here for a pop up. Love love love the atmosphere and friendly staff! Damien is a particularly wonderful host, and Dylan always goes above and beyond with specialty cocktails! Every drink I’ve had here is a step above what you expect out of a drink, and the food is absolutely amazing. The mushroom skewers are a hidden gem, and I love popping over to their sister bar, Water Witch, for a fun drink! I love the entire vibe and fun events they have and could not recommend enough!

Itto Sushi is a cozy restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere and a bar that offers traditional Japanese sushi, specialty rolls, and bento boxes. The fourth location of this small Japanese chain has recently opened in South Jordan, bringing the same popular menu from its existing locations in SLC, Midvale, and Orem to the South Valley.
We came here twice in one week during our ski spring break. First time was for omakase. Chef was extremely friendly and explained in detail how he prepared different fish and sauces. Everything was super fresh and tasted excellent! We had a wonderful experience. Second time was for regular sushi and all the rolls we ordered were delicious! Definitely our favorite sushi place in SLC. Highly recommend!

I have mixed feelings about this place. It is a strip mall that needs some serious updating and there is always an odd smell at this location. Not to mention parking is a joke. It is also weird the setup as you walk past the soda machine sitting next to the front door. The employees are always very nice and the food is good but nothing above average. We went here a few times because of the discount coupons online, but will not be going back. Maybe we will try another location. Most of the times are good. The Ronie and Juliet is too sweet.

When we walked in, we were greeted by a very friendly woman she was so happy and made us feel so welcome. When ordering, we couldn't decide between what fish to get sashimi and the chef actually brought the tuna I was considering out for us to see it. We chose a beautiful red tuna, and it did not disappoint. Melt in your mouth delicious! They served very large pieces and were not skimpy with it at all. We ordered the dandelion, kill bill, and cherry blossom rolls. I did not care for the cherry blossom it was quite fishy, but likely good if you like salmon. The kill bill was delicious, and my boyfriend ended up ordering another dandelion cause he liked it so much. The service was great, and the staff was all so friendly and attentive. I think our servers name was Joseph, great guy. We live in Eagle Mountain but will for sure visit this place again. ❤️

I wasn’t always a big sushi fan, but after several business trips to Itto Sushi in Orem, it grew on me. Tried the Midvale location for the first time, and it did not disappoint—I’ll definitely be back. My go-to is the Firebird, which is not only delicious but also entertaining. The waiter lights a flame, and the sushi, wrapped in aluminum foil, warms up as the fire burns for a minute or two. It’s a fun experience. This time, I ventured out and tried the Romeo & Juliet, Lion King, and Playboy rolls, all of which featured shrimp and were absolutely amazing. If you’re looking for great sushi with a little flair, Itto Sushi is worth a visit! Highly recommend!

Incredible omakase experience—every course was a hit, but the fish was especially outstanding. The octopus? Hands-down the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly tender with unbelievable flavor. Atmosphere was intimate and stylish, making the whole night feel special. Highly recommend.

Our daughter wanted sushi for her birthday. So who are we to not oblige. We had about 17 people coming. We called in advance to reserve seating with no issues. When we got there they had our place set up right away. We had a few people in our group show up late but the staff were very helpful and understanding to accommodate and get their food for when they arrived. Since it was my daughter's birthday, they even surprised her with a Tempura fried ice cream and mocha ice cream! Will definitely come again when I'm in the area.

10/10 recommended for their omakase. Hard to believe SLC has such a good place for omakase. High quality fish and very friendly service. Chef is very passionate about every single course and tells you a lot abt the materials and cooking process. IMO it’s as good as the few hundred dollar places in NYC. Will def come back whenever I come to SLC in the future

This place has some of the best service around. They always have plenty of servers running around and several servers will check on us frequently throughout our meal, constantly topping off our water glasses and responding quickly to requests. The food is really well priced and tastes great. Whether you go in the middle of the day when it's almost empty or you go at dinner time when it's packed, they'll treat you with excellent, attentive service.

Sushi restaurant
Tsunami Restaurant & Sushi Bar in Sugarhouse is a modern Japanese eatery known for its classic and innovative sushi rolls, as well as its selection of sake and happy hour specials. Customers have praised the delicious rolls with creative flavors and the attentive service from the staff. The restaurant underwent a renovation after being closed for several years due to COVID, but it has since reopened to the delight of loyal patrons who missed their favorite dishes.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Let me just simply say, Tsunami hit the spot. A table populated with sushi as far as the eye can see is a sight to behold. Each bite of those decadent rolls left me satisfied down to the last grain of rice. But let's pause here and give praise to the real star of the show, the appetizers. I had the pleasure of dropping a Shrimp Popper onto my tongue, giving that bad boi a few bites, and sending it straight into my happy belly. If you were to ask me if I'd go back, my response would be, "the check is in the mail." Also, I'll give a tip of the fedora to the music choice of the afternoon, Hermanos Gutiérrez. You may think a Latin America vibe in a sushi joint is out of place, but you'd be dead wrong buddy. That two-piece band took me on a beautiful cross cultural journey. With that I'll close out my review by saying, sayonara amigos. p.s. it was a work lunch, ya know, the boss and all. The food was fantastic, but the company was so-so, mediocre at best. I give the table conversation 2.5 stars, and that's being generous.
Ike H — Google review
I ordered the Seared Ahi Salad and Spicy Masa Roll (no rice). The flavor of the dishes were good. I am so happy that any sushi roll can be made without rice. That is a HUGE plus. My only complaint is the price of the food is quite high for what you get. Service was fine. Atmosphere is nice and clean.

I couldn’t be happier this location is back up and running! Always solid and consistent. There’s a gem of a server too with a killer memory, we sure love when we get Parker. Also so glad the shooters are in shells again. Keep up the great work! The rolls were amazing last night.

The chicken Katsu today on August 25 at lunch was terrible. I don’t know that the guy smacked it so thin you can see in the pictures it’s not even an eighth of an inch thick. So it’s all breading tasted like junk. Normally that they didn’t put any tempura dipping sauce in . I don’t know usually they tsunami does pretty good but whoever’s cooking today didn’t do it right

I was visiting my daughter from California and was happy to find this place near her apartment. The sushi specials were delicious! Everyone was friendly and the food came out fast. The wine (prosecco) special was fun, although a little bland. But the bubbles were nice with the sushi and made the occasion feel special.

Upon my arrival, I anticipated a memorable experience, yet what unfolded surpassed even my highest hopes. It was, quite simply, one of the most exquisite and unforgettable moments of my life. The cuisine was a revelation: each dish bursting with flavor, crafted with finesse, and presented with care. The dessert, in particular, was a masterpiece that delighted both the palate and the imagination. However, it was the impeccable service that truly elevated the evening into something extraordinary. Sergio, Mikaela, Nick, and Kemis are the embodiment of genuine hospitality. From the moment I was welcomed, their attentiveness was seamless — never intrusive, yet always present. They anticipated needs before they were voiced, offered thoughtful recommendations with sincerity, and carried out every interaction with a rare blend of warmth, elegance, and professionalism. What impressed me most was not only their expertise, but the joy and pride they clearly take in their work. They created an atmosphere that was not just service-oriented, but truly human — where I felt seen, valued, and cared for. It’s a rare gift to encounter individuals who not only perform their roles flawlessly but do so with heart and authenticity. They transformed a lovely evening into a deeply personal and memorable experience. An encounter like this lingers long after the last course is served — a true testament to the art of hospitality at its finest.

I have a special place in my heart for tsunami. The fish is always beyond delicious which definitely keeps me coming back, however tonight the miso was watery( the server graciously took it off the bill) I’m sure it was just a mistake. The lights were uncomfortably bright and the music was very odd for the environment. Our server was good but a bit inattentive at times however kind and apologetic. To be fair we miss the old Tsunami vibe but the quality of food is definitely better than most other sushi restaurants so we will continue to come back. Just a few tweaks and you can be as good as you used to be.

Koyote is a popular restaurant in Salt Lake known for its delicious and authentic cuisine. The menu offers a variety of dishes, including the best brisket, chicken wings, and more. The restaurant has received praise for its fast service and mouth-numbing spice bomb called the Mayuku Bomb. Customers have enjoyed the fresh ingredients and mix of authentic and unique flavors. The open kitchen allows diners to see all the action while they enjoy their meal.
As a person that considers themselves a connoisseur of Vegan Ramen, koyote in my opinion has the best in Salt Lake. Their tantanmen hits every single time. Pair it up with a Dr Pepper and you got one of the best meals on earth. The quality of Ramen here is very good. I’m sure every other thing on the menu hits as well. Can’t go wrong going for anything here.

Great little hidden ramen spot! Loved the atmosphere immediately. Much of the seating is at a communal bar - I’d call it cozy but not cramped. The signature/original ramen was great, added some chili crisp bc slc doesn’t know what spice is lol. Ube icecream ‘sandwich’ was awesome, one of my fav desserts I’ve had in a while. Plus, front of house people were nice (shoutout my guy Grant) 🙌 I’ll be back. Only comment for improvement: didn’t like the plastic water cups.

Best ramen in SLC!!! We went for a birthday brunch and our experience was amazing. French toast is a must try, it was so good! Tantan-men was so spicy and flavourful. The restaurant itself is so cute and the service was excellent. We can’t wait to go back again!

Food and drinks are always amazing, I always get the tantan-man but chose to try the American shoyu with brisket on top. It was just as good as tartan-man! Service was excellent… We sat on the patio and ended up moving to another table because the sun was hot, the staff helped us move our order and bussed us a new one in the shade. No complaints at all!

Fusion Japanese inspired Gen Z restaurant! This restaurant is more fusion than Japanese, 100% Gen Z! You order and pay off the QR code (tired of QR codes now) minimal interaction with servers. If you want to add an item they refer you to add it yourself to your online bill but they can add items. Food is just ok, too fusion focused. There are too many flavours going on the Shishido peppers. The Ramen taste like it’s beef broth. The brisket was good! The TanTan mein tasted off and was just ok. The grilled Mackerel was good. The menu show an entire Mackerel but they only serve you half a fish. The homemade chips were good but I would not pay for it. The house pickles were not good. The decor was simple and clean. I was confused if I should tip as much as a regular dine in restaurant. Everything is through the QR code online billing. Will not come back I prefer more authentic cuisines.

Excellent ramen at this modern, clean setting. Ordering is by QR code on your device. Recommend the flagship Tokyo style soy ramen and the $5 draft lager.

Koyote opened their doors to brunch for the first time and I'm afraid I'm addicted. I've often craved an authentic Japanese breakfast, well look no further because they've decided to put their whole culinary soul into these dishes. Ube and Matcha Latte: 10/10 the best and most balanced drink. If you're a beginner matcha drinker this is the gateway to matcha madness. Cool, refreshing, ube hit with a matcha finish. Just do it! Uni sliders: think of an oyster slider but Uni, same freshness and taste of the sea. If you're craving a bright and light appetizer this is it! 9/10 Japanese breakfast with Mackerel: I would say this is for the advanced palate, for my Asian audience this is comfort food through and through. Perfectly cooked fish, perfect rice, and the side dishes are all perfect compliments. Loved the pickles and the Mini egg omelette on the side. 9/10 Wagyu Moko loco: if comfort food was in a bowl, this would be it! Delicious beef patty and that mushroom sauce is to die for! It's on the heavier side so do come VERY hungry. 8.7/10 Red bean French toast: a surprise! A fusion of American and Japanese flavors. A mixture of peanut butter and red bean paste between perfectly cooked French toast slices. Would've preferred a stronger red bean taste but it is absolutely satisfying! 8.8/10 Staff is 10/10 always friendly and quick! Overall experience for their first brunch 9.8/10

Stopped in for dinner with family. We tried the Nabeyaki udon noodles and several hand rolls including: Shinobi special, Mexi, Spicy hamachi, Phoenix, and Rainbow. I thought the mexi was the most unique hand roll with hints of cilantro. One thing I normally enjoy about sushi are the contrasting flavors and textures. I have to say that in general I found this sushi to be disappointing. The fish was fresh but when I ate each bite it seemed muted in flavor… weak in those contrasting flavors I love. The texture was not varied either but I do realize that is a strong function of the hand rolls I ordered. Atmosphere was great and service was good and friendly. Prices are on the higher side but not ridiculous.

Let me start by saying how great the sushi is here! Not only does it taste wonderful, the prices are incredibly fair! Coming from Seattle, I can't believe how low these prices are! I don't know how they compare to the rest of SLC, but I think they're amazing. The sushi is fresh, delicious, and they have a wonderful staff! I stumbled across this gem, you should too!

We wanted sushi as a family while we were downtown SLC. All of our favorites had 1-2 hour waits so we were on our way home when we saw Shinobi. Glad we stopped by. Delicious sushi, all very fresh and fish forward. Prompt service, nicely decorated interior, and friendly staff. We got the Samari, Shinobi Special, Winter, Spicy Hamachi, Red Line, Playboy, and California rolls. All were pretty well executed with nice flavors, textures, and finishing sauces.

This restaurant can only be described as exquisite. Not only was the atmosphere and aesthetic felt welcoming, but the food was on the level of a five star experience. Not only was the food generous, but it was done to perfection. If you are looking for an atmosphere to cater to either a group of friends hanging out or a business outing that blends casual and fine dining in the most beautiful of ways with a wait staff to match? This is the place to be. You will not be disappointed.

Okay, this sushi was fantastic! Everything tasted really good and fresh. The Jalapeño poppers were really really hot though, we couldn’t finish them and I love spicy food!! They did not take the seeds out which I thought was common for Jalapeño poppers but maybe I’m crazy. That being said they were good. I would recommend the Mars roll. It was absolutely delicious and tasted the freshest of everything. I’d eat 2-3 of them myself. Service was really good and quick. The only downside I’d say was that the deep fried rolls we got (Vegas & Snow Crab) were kinda bland and nothing special. Or maybe that’s just my taste in sushi evolving from the simple things.

The phoenix (add cream cheese) is really good! Definitely my favorite. Love this place, it’s so cute and neat.
Kaylee T — Google review
We discovered Shinobi through a sponsored add on Instagram. After looking at Yelp and Google reviews we had high expectations and were excited to try it. We came in a few minutes after opening and were seated right away. The decor was fun and the restaurant was spacious. We were deciding on hand rolls and asked the waitress what types of hand rolls they have and it didn't seem like she knew the menu. She had to ask her co-worker about the menu. We ended up getting the calamari for an appetizer. It tasted mostly of breading and could barely taste the calamari. The large sashimi platter was $45 and the fish tasted off.. it didn't taste fresh at all and was slimy and warm. The tuna had a film on it and the salmon left some slimy spots on the plate. We were struggling to finish it. We picked 2 rolls, the Phoenix roll and the firecracker roll. The firecracker was doused in sauce and you can't taste any of the fish. The Phoenix roll was okay. The service could use some improvement. Our waitress came over a little after we started eating to give us our checks.. we weren't halfway through eating our food. When we were ready to pay, she cleared our table and passed by several more times but didn't grab the check. It took over 15 minutes for her to grab it. When she did ring us up, she was standing at the counter talking to her co worker for another 5 minutes before bringing us our check to sign. Overall, the ambiance of the restaurant was good, but the food wasn't. Our total ended up being $100 and it wasn't worth it. This was probably the most disappointing dining experience we've had.

The food and drinks were delicious. I was surprised by how well balanced the cocktails were. Our waitress Izzy was extremely knowledgeable about every ingredient in both the food and cocktails. And the ice cream was amazing- very rich and creamy Will definitely be going back soon.

We did a 10 course tasting which was so fun! We enjoyed most of the courses and others were so so. The employees were nice and brought out each dish quickly. The plating of each dish was exceptional. This 10 course tasting was so fun! I wish one of the courses was a sushi roll though. I’ll have to come back to try the sushi.

A good place for a date night. All the tapas are pretty good. The drink menu is pretty fun with Game of Thrones' theme for their names.

Ask for Sloan. Not just the best server at Mint, but one of the best servers I’ve had in Salt Lake City. I’d offer to recommend rolls like the Apollo, Saturn, and Jalapeño Hamachi, but the reality is that Sloan will make much better recommendations and will provide the best service possible. Normally I like to leave pictures of the food, but the table ate everything before I could get a photo.

Phenomenal dishes. Perfect execution, balancing flavors, and utilizing unique ingredients. They also present a strong visual appeal, making them more enticing and enjoyable. And the cocktails are over the moon. The best!

Really excellent dining experience. Cocktails were good, and their waiter Sloan was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and had suggestions for every preference and need. Super accommodating and friendly. We'll be going back sometime soon.

The service was great! BO was so friendly and professional, we celebrated a friend’s birthday there and we got a free ice cream. I love Walu Ceviche and tuna salad!

The waiter, ours was Sloan, was knowledgeable about gluten free foods and allergies. Not everything on the menu is gluten free (they have GF tempura batter!!!) but everything is peanut free which is dope. They do also have vegan options labeled on the menu although there's not a ton. He also let us know about the common favorites or most ordered items on the menu and I gotta say, he was spot on with his description of the Ube ice cream flavour. The grilled scallions were delicious and the stargazer sushi was also delicious. The Ube ice cream (pictured) was really really good. They also use real wasabi which is dope as hell. The ginger is amazing too but I'm a slut for ginger. A work colleague recommended the "Blossom of Peace" sake or as he put it "the plum sake." It was really good, I'm not a wine/sake connoisseur but my colleagues description of "sweet, tart and smooth" was very accurate, I enjoyed it as did my partner.

Mint Tapas and Sushi 4 in Sugar House is the latest addition to Chef Soy's upscale Japanese concept. Housed in a chic modern space, it offers a menu focused on small plates and maki rolls. The restaurant has consistently exceeded expectations, offering top-notch sushi, delicious dishes, and a great selection of drinks. Guests have praised the exceptional service provided by the staff at this location.
Absolutely the best sushi in town. This is our favorite place to go every Saturday. Drinks are amazing. My favorite is White Walker, and old fashion. Wagyu steak, salmon with truffle oil, and poke nacho are amazing appetizers. Ube ice cream is so good and interesting. We also like to get one to go. Highly recommend this place.

This is a review of the lunch time offerings and specials. The lunch special rolls are a light, fresh affair; perfect if you're not super hungry or craving a complicated roll. Not many places in Salt Lake offer shishito peppers - however, like the other places that do, they are sadly fried; grilled with light salt & pepper would have been highly preferable. Great location, with a very nice indoor/outdoor setup. Once the road construction is completed the view and people watching will be top tier.

Seeing some recent reviews on this place, i wouldve expected more since it looks really nice inside and the food seem to be of high quality. I have to agree that the seats are uncomfortable and the staff are no where to be around when it wasn't busy on a late afternoon on a weekday. Im very disappointed that they opened the garage doors when my girlfriend and I wanted to dine inside the restaurant since it wasn't particularly warm outside. I see no point of us choosing to seat either or if they're gonna open the doors. Food wise, the miso soup was pretty good, you can tell they use a kombu stock and it was seasoned well. The tapas/appetizers i chose were the garlic butter shrimp. I was surprised how small they were in terms of portions and the shrimp size for 16$ is kinda too much. Flavor is expected, nothing interesting but it was a little bland as well. You can find this flavor at a food truck that tastes better. i forgot the name but we got this sushi with salmon and lemon and id say it wasnt that bad, i think it was too much ponzu on the bottom for my taste. But the fish was pretty fresh so thats a plus I probably got something i shouldve known. i've had better deep fried rolls and this one is the bottom of my list. The sauce was too much and overwhelming. Tiny slivers of wagyu. I get it, it's expensive but theres better steak sushis with the same price. other than that, its crispy. Overall, terrible balance of flavors here and the proportions are out of whack.

We went for dinner on a Sunday and everything was fantastic. Not crowded at all, and the atmosphere was clean and calm. We tried a mix of tapas and sushi rolls; all of them did not disappoint, and I found the prices to be fair for the quality. The jalapeño hamachi vinaigrette and wagyu crostini sauces were especially delicious, and our server mixed up some more for us to dip our sushi in. Service was also prompt, and we loved our server Bo! She was very funny and gave us some great recommendations for dishes. We will definitely be back soon!

We’ve been to The Mint a couple of times now, and each visit is a lovely experience. The space has a clean, modern vibe inside, but we especially love sitting outside on the patio—it’s the perfect spot for a summer evening. This time, we started with two cocktails: the Blue Sky and the Pink Man—both super refreshing and perfect for sipping in the sunshine. The Blue Sky even came with a sparkly rock candy pop. I didn’t really partake in it, but I did dip it in the drink for the glittery vibes—felt very Sirtter-worthy. For food, we kicked things off with the baked mussels and noodle tuna—beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The baked mussels were especially delicious, and when we asked for a few more crostini, our server happily brought them out without hesitation. We continued with the Walu ceviche and some sashimi, which were both bright, fresh, and ideal for the warm weather. On our server’s recommendation, we also tried the galaxy lollipops—so glad we did! They were vibrant and super tasty. Just when we thought we were done, we kept seeing adorable little martini glasses going by filled with something purple. Turns out it was UBE dessert, and we couldn’t resist. It was the perfect sweet ending to the meal—light, creamy, and totally crave-worthy. The staff here is always friendly and attentive, and it’s clear they care about both the food and the guest experience. We’ll absolutely be back—especially for another round of cocktails and patio time.

We really enjoyed our time at Mint Tapas in Sugarhouse! We tried to go to a neighboring restaurant that put us on the waitlist and never called our name so we said alright time to go somewhere else! Mint sat us right away. We picked the other place because we had our dog with us and luckily Mint has a dog friendly patio as well which is always major bonus points for me. The sushi is good but I do think some other places in the valley have better sushi. However this place definitely has some unique rolls, the one with apple was good and different from anything I've seen at a sushi place! The cocktails were great as well. Overall this was a solid sushi place I would come to again if I was in the area, but it isn't the BEST sushi place in my opinion.
Karlie — Google review
This was our first time here and it was incredible! Mint surpassed all expectations. The portion sizes are perfect for the price and the food was fresh and delivered to our table quickly. They also have a very fun Alice in Wonderland themed cocktail list. We ordered the grilled scallops, salmon tataki, jalapeño hamachi, poke nachos, and galaxy lollipop. All of the food was delicious but our favorites were the scallops and salmon. Max was our waiter and he was knowledgable and friendly. They also have a dog friendly patio! We will definitely be going back!

Wow! What a gem! We are visiting from Tampa, FL and are use to amazing sushi/tapas restaurants and we have to say Mint now ranks one of the best cuisines we have had. First off the menu has plenty of options and the more people you bring the more variety you can try, everything on the menu looked amazing. Fortunately, we had the most passionate and knowledgeable waiter, named Sloan, he was able to not only describe each dish, make amazing recommendations, add items that complimented and was a top A representation of any 5 star restaurant. Some of our absolute favorites were the Wagyu Beef, this was our absolute favorite. Not only was it tender, flavorful and delicious, it was a large portion to share with at least 4 people. Our number 2 dish was the crispy tuna, we order this everywhere it's on the menu and this was our number 1 crispy tuna! Flavorful, and large portion. Sloan recommended a "fresh wasabi", which was like a slightly spicy relish that complimented every dish. 3rd dish was Jalapeno Yellowtail, perfectly cut, and marinated in a special sauce. The Salmon appetizer had a citrus dressing that enhanced the fish along with avocado and oranges. We also ordered a few sushi rolls! Everything was perfect!! We will be back!

Ichiban is a remarkable dining destination that beautifully marries the charm of an old church with the vibrant flavors of Japanese cuisine. This hip eatery, adorned with stunning stained glass windows and a captivating salt-water aquarium, offers an impressive selection of sushi rolls and traditional Japanese dishes crafted by expert chefs. With fresh ingredients flown in from the west coast, Ichiban ensures every bite bursts with flavor. The atmosphere is both inviting and unique, making it a perfect spot for food lovers seeking something special.
Awesome atmosphere in an old school church with stained glass windows. Rolls are pretty tasty with a big selection from house specials to basic rolls, but a bit pricier than your average sushi house. Priced 10-14/roll. Best service and server we've had in months at any eating establishment. Big plus for tempura frying my rolls for me even when they were busy. It's a definite must try once sushi house. We visit this location a few times a year. We even were able to get a high chair for our kid, but this is a nicer sushi house than your average.

I enjoy the way the place looks. Nice atmosphere. Nice service. Sub par sushi. I've been coming here for years and finally decided to write a review because I've watched quality go downhill. This place was by far the best for years. But the last few times I've went It doesn't taste as good and gives me a sour stomach. It's a shame to see, and to say, but I will be finding somewhere else for sushi now. Only my Vegas rolls were awesome but honestly that's pretty standard anywhere you go.
Weston C — Google review
This place was great. Never thought I'd eat sushi in an old beautiful church. The food was great and so was the service. Brandon was awesome! He helped us pick every roll and had a great sense of humor. If you have the chance, get a story out of that guy...great story teller. Best suggestion was the Ichiban Spider. I'm an avid sushi lover, and it was one of the best rolls I've had in a long time.
James U — Google review
This place is set in an old church, with lots of stained glass windows. The sushi rolls are inventive and delicious. I recommend the spicy tuna. My 9-year-old daughter found the miso soup too cloudy for her liking, but she could hardly believe how good the mango desert tasted. I have always enjoyed the service at Ichiban. I particularly appreciate servers' patience with kids
Brian M — Google review
I'm only giving this place a one because the sushi was actually good. However, the service was horrible! We got there and nobody was up at the front, another person waiting had to go find someone. We finally got seated and they took forever to take our order and bring out our food. My husband and I were sharing the rolls, so we asked for plates, but by the time she even brought the plates out we were already done with our first roll of sushi. She offered us more water as well, and by the time she came back with the water we were completely done with all of our food and wanted the check. She also took about 15 minutes to bring back the check when it wasn't even that busy. The food was over priced, it wasn't worth the time; we definitely won't be coming back.
Adriana U — Google review
This place is awesome! The restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous, and the rolls are great. While I don't typically order steak from sushi restaurants, I have to add that I've tried Ichiban's and it was incredibly. It seriously rivaled Ruth's Chris's steaks AND at a fraction of the cost! If you haven't tried this place, I seriously recommend that you do.
Cozy J — Google review
The atmosphere was strange, weirdo combo of old European style church, combined with stereotypical Japanese art, combined with French music. Sat at the sushi bar and I think the guys making sushi hated each other, it was awkward, one guy was very unprofessional, kept making comments about, "Just the tip." Sure, funny, but not what I expected at the prices they charged. Overall, sushi was good, but just was a strange experience, I actually found it more amusing than anything, made jokes about it all night. I still liked the fish tank, probably one of the better parts of the atmosphere in there. Either way, just a strange dining experience, at least I'm amused.

One of THE COOLEST sushi places I have ever had the pleasure to dine in. The building used to be an old church with stained glass windows and a tropical fish tank! Awesome decore and delicious food. The staff is friendly and inviting. If I lived in Utah, I would be there once a week.

Tanabata Japanese Restaurant is a new addition to the dining scene in SoSL, taking over the space previously occupied by EJO Korean BBQ. The restaurant offers a balance of cooked and cooled dishes, with rumors of possibly introducing shabu shabu during the winter season. The menu features authentic Japanese cuisine, including classic American-Japanese fusion rolls alongside purely Japanese main entrees and side dishes like Oyakodon and Agedashi Tofu at affordable prices.
If you looking for real Japanese food this is the place you have to go. 1. Donkatsu is very juicy and not dry 2. Very reasonable price for all of these tonkatsu, miso soup, salad, and rice for Only $12 3. Servers are very nice. I'm really enjoy the lunch here.

This is $25 in food. This is proof that our country has lost its collective minds. The food is just ok. Literally meh. And they didn't give the tempura sauce with the meal. AND I TIPPED! This is another reason why we should NEVER tip before the food is served. That way we can determine if the food and service warrants a gratuity. We absolutely will not ever return. Conscientious business practices are a thing of the past, ladies and gentlemen.

Great Restaurant 👍 kindly server. Clean areas. Parking lot good. I recommend for American peoples. But I wouldn't recommend for Korean and Japanese. Because it's restaurant food targeting for American peoples.

This is the place. It's truly authentic Japanese food. They have your standard American-Japanese fusion rolls (California, Utah, Vegas rolls, etc) but the main entrees and side dishes are all purely Japanese. Food items such as Oyakodon, Agedashi Tofu, Hiyashi Wakame, the list goes on. Dishes are all affordable, most around $10-12 per person. The atmosphere is very clean and staff are very friendly. The chefs are Japanese as well and came over after dinner to chat and ask how we liked the food. The flavors are very on point and distinct with Sendai area cuisine. The restaurant is themed to match the Sendai summer festival. It was nice to find authentic flavors and food for such affordable prices. Definitely recommend.

I’ve been to Japan several times and I definitely will back to them again.🥰 I went here couple days ago, the Tonkatsu so crispy and meat pretty tender not to dry.😋😋😋 The food so great almost 90% authentic consider in Utah and the price also affordable.🤓🤓🤓

We had Santa Fe Sushi roll and Katsu. Katsu's pork was very fresh and tender. Forgot to take a photo on Katsu but they taste good.
Jim K — Google review
Overall very good. But I felt many of the dishes were light on flavor. Maybe they were going for that? Maybe have a more natural taste of the individual ingredients but the individual ingredients didn't like very much. I felt that consistently with the side dishes. But the entrees themselves and the sushi was really good. I really enjoy the curry. Lots of caramelized onions and good curry taste. I think the price was pretty good for what you get, but like I said, flavor wise I don't think the side dishes are worth it.

Walking down Main Street in Park City can feel overwhelming very fast when you start to think where you want to go to eat. I was popping in and out of stores all day and I asked where I should go. They recommended a sushi spot. So I decided to give it a try. They are pretty busy but I got there early and sat at the sushi bar. It is a little cramped but not awful. Laura and Dustin helped me choose the best options and let me tell you they sent me on a great journey. Everything tastes so fresh and incredibly well flavored. I didn’t know the executive roll had cilantro in it and I probably would have asked with no cilantro if I got it again. But if you want sushi I would recommend trying this spot out.

We had an excellent experience. From the time we walked in they were happy to see us and made us feel welcomed. Within a minute of sitting down the manager came to check on us and ask us if we had any questions about the menu or the restaurant. We love sushi and asked for some recommendations and after asking us a few questions he made some excellent recommendations. The beers and cocktails he recommended were great, the appetizers and entrees were excellent. We had a few appetizers (spicy edemame and fried stuff shishito peppers), wagyu on a sizzling salt block, the executive role and some great sashimi as well. The sushi chefs were very friendly and equally attentive to us. Overall an excellent experience with excellent service and food. Would definitely come back.

Shabu is a warm and sophisticated dining spot with a refined Japanese menu, including sushi and shabu-shabu. Located on Main Street, it was opened over 14 years ago by brothers Kevin and Bob Valaika, who aimed to introduce a new style of dining. The restaurant offers freestyle Asian fusion cuisine that combines celebrated regional dishes with fresh global flavors. The menu features fresh seafood sushi rolls like the Kings Peak, Komodo Dragon, and Skywalker Roll.
The food was awesome but it’s a small place and they really pack them in there. You kinda feel like you can hear every conversation going on at every table. Very loud for me,as I prefer a more relaxed quiet dinning experience. But the food and service were great.

What a hidden treasure! This Japanese restaurant is tucked underground, which instantly gives it a cool, secret vibe. The atmosphere is fun and energetic, making it the kind of place where you can instantly relax and just enjoy yourself. We didn’t have reservations, but luckily stopped by during off hours and were able to get in—so glad we did because the experience was incredible. The sushi was absolutely spot on: fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The appetizers were just as impressive, and the drinks were top-notch, perfectly crafted to complement the food. And here’s something you don’t usually hear in a restaurant review—the bathroom is worth the visit! The way they decorated it was so creative and playful, it added an unexpected layer of fun to the whole evening. If you’re looking for delicious Japanese food with a unique, upbeat vibe, this spot is a must. Perfect for a night out with friends or just a memorable dining experience.

Relaxed, upscaled Asian fusion restaurant - 100% fits that description. Highs: food was very good, you get what you order without gimmicks. I had one of that evenings specials - chicken sausage and beef teriyaki over a wide noodle with a sweet creamy sauce. I would order it again. She had a chicken ramen that was very flavorful on the broth, and the ramen noodles were fresh. Dumpling appetizer was delicious. Space is very tight, you will be hearing lots of other tables. A little worn, - a lot of the furniture is banged up, noticeable, but not excessively. Staff can dress funky which is fun, and they give a professional feel of they've been doing it for a long time. All in all, I'd dine there again.

Great atmosphere. Fun decor. Eclectic food choices. Waiter was horrible. . Felt like we were a nuisance to him. Could barely give us the time of day. Asked questions and when we said our kids don’t eat that he walked away and said I’ll be back. Didn’t want to bother. Recommending the higher priced items, so on and so forth. They charged higher than normal prices but still charge for a Diet Coke refill. Blonde hostess was very nice. I would go back but on occasion.

I live in PC and this is one of the very few places on Main St that I think is worth eating at for the price. Sitting at the bar is fun and the staff is fun and professional. They had bluefin the last time we were there and it was absolutely delicious. The decor is fun and unique. The whole vibe of the place feels like it is for locals than the many many tourists on Main St.

Unique atmosphere as you walk downstairs to a dark, narrow Asian inspired restaurant. The decor has a very Park City vibe, especially in the bathroom. The sushi options are fresh and presented well. It's the best sushi in the area but it's also very expensive.

This place is so fun! Such a fun and friendly environment. The hot rock is a bit pricy, but if you're picky about your beef you will be very pleased! Our table of 8 all enjoyed our dishes. Thank you!!
Jacqui J — Google review
Nothing good to say about this place. The Japanese wagyu steak hot rock was mediocre at best. It’s a cheap cut of steak and the butter was awful. The Komodo dragon roll was just all together awful. I had sushi at the supermarket 2 days ago that was better. The Korean BBQ tacos were good and the best thing we had. The duck fried rice was solid but nothing special. Service was just ok but the worst part was they only had reservations available at 5:30. I did not want to eat that early. We were there til 7pm and the place was literally empty. At least 12 open tables which is a lot for a small place. Would never come here again. For a $200 tab there are much better choices.

Sushi Blue offers a blend of Pan-Asian cuisine and sushi in a modern setting with traditional Japanese seating. The restaurant is praised for its friendly staff, clean environment, and well-thought-out decor. Guests enjoy the faint classic rock music that adds an Americanized touch to the sushi experience. The shredded brussel sprouts appetizer receives high praise for its combination of crunchy macadamia nuts, soft golden raisins, salty pork, and soy flavors.
Good experience at Sushi Blue, we got there about 40 min before closing and the server was not happy with us. We did order quickly and made every effort to get out quickly. The food was very good and we spoke with a regular local whom offered a great selection of food items. I had the pinapple mohito which was much bitter than expected but very good. Edamama was excellent, salmon and tuna rolls were clean and tasty. Wife's Cali and special rolls was excellent. My only complaint is we only had Sushi but we had to ask for wasbi and pickled ginger, and when it finally came it was one serving for 4 plates of Sushi, just odd it didn't come with the rolls... Otherwise, happy with the meal..

We had a gift card that someone gave us for this chain of restaurants. The food it's okay. Not great. We had a couple sushi rolls. We had the calamari our usual calamari dish. The rolls were okay. Not great. Maybe it's just a combination of what the roles were that weren't that great. The calamari was pretty good. The service was pretty decent, not the quickest me and Agnes were like the fourth couple in there. It wasn't overly busy. There was a lot of people standing around doing nothing but our service took a little bit of time to get everything. If it wasn't for the gift card I definitely wouldn't come here. I definitely won't come here again. We've had dinner at some of their other restaurants. One in salt lake. The Japanese steakhouse that was better than this place. I need to leave a review for them as don't come here people. It's not the greatest. You can come here if you want to but just not quality people for what you paying for

The employees were so nice and respectful. However, the sushi was the total opposite. I got the surf'n'turf which was okay, not the best considering the price. The uni here was salty, and fishy. Good quality uni is sweet and doesn't have that fishy taste. The sashimi even just the salmon was not up to par considering the price.

Tasty and unique house sushi rolls! They're expensive, but not beyond what is reasonable in a location like Park City. We started with the gyoza. They were unlike any other I'd had - they had a very thin wrapper that was fried to the point of almost being cracker-like. They tasted good but were quite tiny. I don't think they are worth the cost because of this. We tried two veggie and two blue rolls. Both veggie rolls (Cashew Clay and King Kong) were excellent! I would order both again. The Cashew Clay had a surprising and pleasant bright flavor due to the lime slices. The King Kong was the closest thing I think I've had to a "dessert" sushi. It is one of the most unique things I've eaten in a while. If you're thinking you might like it you should try it! It was the favorite roll of my entire group. For the blue rolls, we had the Mike Thai Son and Jenny From The Block. I loved the fusion flavors of the first ones and the pieces I had with a lot of the Thai basil were the best. The latter one almost tasted like a complete meal with the salmon and asparagus. I'd recommend both! Restaurant was pretty empty during the lunch hour on a Tuesday. Despite this, service/kitchen was sadly still slow to get food out. Restaurant smelled slightly fishy when we walked it. Everything we ate was super-fresh so it didn't indicate any problems with the food. But, it's not the first impression you'd want.

What a breath of fresh air. This venue is top notch in atmosphere and service. The sushi is wonderful. Fresh and bold, popping with fantastic flavor. The hot sauces pack a huge kick if you are into pleasing your palatte with a punch. Highly recommend and will definitely return.

Ramen was absolutely terrible. The broth was bland, they don’t put anything noteworthy inside it. Seriously, I’ve eaten ramen all over the country, and this is hands down the worst I’ve ever had. The broth was actually bitter on top of being bland. The ONLY redeeming factor was the braised pork they put inside was half decent. The service was garbage. Rarely did my waitress show up, and I had to go to the counter to pay due to waiting so long for the check. Do yourself a favor and hit another spot.

Likely the most economical choice for sushi in and around Park city. The sushi wasn’t bad. The macro sashimi I had was quite fishy, but the rest was just fine. I was quite disappointed at the size of the spicy tuna roll. Only four pieces. What really got me was the service. The hostess hardly looked at me, grabbed a menu and took me to a seat where I sat for over 10 minutes before anyone came to my table. I already knew what I wanted, but the waitress did not even come to greet me. I don’t know if they were understaffed, and this was an off night, but the food was good.

Sushi Blue is a hop, skip, and a jump away from me, so I come more out of convenience rather than quality. Though whoever made my takeout tonight must be new, because they made the rolls with a standard fish/rice ratio and I was pretty shocked. Normally your basic rolls are all rice with a little dab of tuna or hamachi. I actually got decent sized pieces of hamachi this time and wasn’t overloaded with plain rice. I almost called it quits last time I ordered because for the price, you guys are reallllyyyy cutting back on the fish. We know times are tough, but watching portions shrink to nothing while being charged the same is disappointing. It would be nice if you offered your special rolls for takeout. The two specials tonight sounded great but you never offer them online. You guys have been really quick with takeout lately, so thank you! All in all, there are definitely better sushi places in PC, but Sushi Blue is a standard place. Thank you!

Oishi Sushi in Park City is a contemporary Japanese restaurant that offers a variety of traditional dishes such as sushi rolls, salad, and BBQ meat. The quality of the food is exceptional with fresh and perfectly portioned fish. The menu boasts an array of options, making it difficult to choose just one. The sushi chefs are highly skilled at creating subtle yet delightful flavor profiles.
Ok. I know it’s Utah and the fresh seafood is not readily available. But the the rent must play a huge factor in the food cost. The gyoza was delicious (but also not scarce ingredients and still expensive) everything was delicious but you can easily spend $100 per person with a drink. Atmosphere rating dictated by price, it’s a great establishment… (I travel solo so looking for reasonable meals for me)

The place is good. A bit overpriced, but hey, it’s Park City—what else is new? The food was delicious, but wow, they couldn’t wait to get rid of us (we were at the bar, taking up their precious space). Our bill was definitely more than $20, but they treated us like we were loitering at a coffee shop. Every five minutes, someone would oh-so-politely ask if we needed anything else, as if my food and drink were on a timer. Nothing says ‘welcome’ like being rushed out the door with a smile!

There was almost no wait and I sat outside with my family. The waiter was very nice, attentive and patient. We ordered the spicy calamari roll, shrimp tempura roll, tiger lily roll and the super dragon roll. All four rolls were pretty good the tuna on the tiger lily roll was not fishy at all which I enjoyed! The super dragon roll had eel on it, was hesitant at first but it was very tender and yummy. The gyoza was very good as well, their homemade sauce made it great! The teriyaki chicken plate was good, just overpriced for what you got. But overall the experience there was very nice and relaxing.

Fish was really good quality. Park city means park city prices, overall for location thought reasonably priced. We didn’t have reservation and walked in with baby, and managed to get a bar seat. Service was great, everyone was nice, sushi chefs asked us multiple times if all was good. Recommend a reservation if going, would do one if went back to make sure got a seat. Highly recommend.

I like sushi and I was delighted by this place. I was looking for a lighter dinner and the Uramaki I ordered was called "Sunset". It was one of the best rolls I have ever had. The flavor was incredible and the atmosphere of the place was very calming. What a great place to grab dinner. If you are like me and don't go to Park City often, make sure that when you do, the Flying Sumo is on your list of restaurants to visit while in town! I know that I will be back as often as I can.

So great! We drove over the pass in our Jeep to have a nice evening in PC. We didn’t wanna spend a ton of money! But you could here- the menu was varied for all pocket books! And this place was very friendly, nice and sunny very clean and pretty and interesting. When we walked in, everybody was smiling and checking in with us . Our server for the evening was Rose and she was so pleasant. She made a bunch of great recommendations. She checked in with us often she was bubbly and friendly, and we’re definitely gonna make this spot a tradition. Great spot, we were there after the summer season so if you’re gonna go during the summer season or during the ski season, I recommend making reservations because this place is pretty hot and awesome so I imagine it’s pretty full during high season ! Highly recommend !

What a great place to hang out and eat some sushi! Our experience has been that the staff is very friendly and does an excellent job of taking care of our needs. We ate at Flying Sumo on Saturday night August 30th. This was our favorite dinner during our 4-night stay in the area. We have eaten at Sushi restaurants from Boston to Tokyo... and this place was amazing. ROSE was our server (she was so friendly and helpful) and she recommended several items from their impressive menu. We had the grilled Tuna appetizer and the Thriller Roll. Both were phenomenal! We cannot wait to return to Park City and when we do Flying Sumo will be on the menu!

Cute little sushi place on the southern end of Main Street. Service was good, friendly and helpful. It’s nicely decorated. The cucumber salad was light and yummy. The fried pork gyoza was decent. Windy's Sukiyaki, a popular local establishment known for its Japanese cuisine and sushi, offers a variety of vegetarian and gluten-free choices. It was recommended to me by a colleague, and upon visiting for my birthday dinner, I discovered that their menu catered well to those with gluten intolerance. The staff was knowledgeable about allergies and even offered to have the chefs change gloves if necessary. Our server, Lucas, provided exceptional service - one of the best experiences I've had in quite some time.
At the risk of everyone finding out about this place I have to leave a five star review. Windy’s absolutely nailed everything from the ambiance to the service to the food. Best Nigiri I’ve ever had hands down. Ask for Alexa!! Amazing server! She made our anniversary dinner extra special!

Wow! Wendy’s Sukiyaki is DYNAMITE. What a rush- I started with an ice cold ice water, and chased that down with a squallers juicy IPA (can) so good. Moved on to some sort of spicy jalapeño sushi roll that was spicy, and excellent? Side note the dining room is fab. Wrapped this hawg up with some octopus balls (this is what the nice lady said they were called I think) and it was very interesting and new but tasty. You can tell the staff are happy and I am happy thank you Windys Sukoyayki!

I was born and raised in Japan and have heard that this place is authentic but it is not, unfortunately, this is very Americanized Japanese food. I think they justify the high price point with the atmosphere, but I really would rather eat in a place with no atmosphere and authentic food than high atmosphere and low quality food. I wish I enjoyed it more, we came for our 10 year wedding anniversary.

Osaka Sushi Japanese Restaurant in Layton, Utah has been a beloved spot for sushi enthusiasts since 2003. It offers traditional and Americanized sushi rolls, as well as popular half-off specials on Tuesdays. The restaurant has garnered a loyal following over the years due to its high-quality sushi and excellent service. Meanwhile, Fuji Sushi in Centerville is known for its array of Japanese dishes and creative sushi rolls, attracting many patrons including Mr. Frey.
I always go to Osaka on Tuesdays to enjoy the 50% off sushi rolls, because who doesn’t love a good deal that allows you to eat like a king without breaking the bank? In my humble opinion, it’s the best sushi you can find north of Salt Lake. Seriously, I’m pretty sure the fish are happier than I am! If you want to try a variety of sushi, check out the options shown in the picture below that I posted. I mean, you have to live a little, right? If you’re not experimenting with raw fish, are you even living? Just be warned: one roll leads to another, and before you know it, you're in a full-blown sushi coma, dreaming of wasabi and soy sauce!

Osaka Layton has quickly become one of my go-to spots for sushi, and for good reason – the food is consistently fantastic! Every roll I've tried has been fresh, beautifully presented, and bursting with flavor. Their sashimi is top-notch, and the special rolls are creative and delicious. If you're looking for quality sushi in the Layton area, this place definitely delivers on taste. However, a word to the wise: if you're planning to visit during peak hours (especially dinner on weekends), be prepared for a wait. Both getting a table and receiving your food can take a significant amount of time when they're busy. The staff works hard, but the popularity of the place means they can get overwhelmed. My strongest recommendation is to always make a reservation beforehand, especially if you're on a schedule or just don't like waiting. Doing so will significantly improve your experience and ensure you can enjoy their excellent food without the frustration of a long wait. Despite the rush hour challenges, the quality of the sushi makes it well worth the visit if you plan accordingly!

I went here with some family who does love sushi and I ordered something non sushi and non seafood related. It was so delicious! But I was curious About the sushi so I tried one of the black tiger ones from what they had ordered. It was so good I asked if I could have another piece.

This place used to be really good but it's gone so downhill. The chicken we got literally looked like a kids meal and the sauce tasted like Ketchup. The salad dressing was disgusting. Sushi was very low quality and the fish tasted old and it was VERY expensive for how awful it was. The server told us she had no clue what Sushi was good which also sucked but she was nice otherwise. 0/10

Came during lunch time. Small place but the staff is small too. Might be a husband/wife team. He's the sushi chef and she's the sever. So if it's busy you need to be patient. It was worth the wait for us. Squid salad was awesome. Tokyo roll was awesome. Also got the small sashimi platter which had very generous sushi portions on it. Everything we got were good portions and high quality. Not cheap, but I guess fairly reasonable prices for Park City and sushi is generally not cheap no matter where you go. If we were local we would eat here at least once/month if not more.

We were excited to try Kabuki because it looks nice from the outside but unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite match the appearance. One of the windows was shattered and some of the plants were dead, which gave the place a bit of a neglected feel. It could really use some maintenance to match the impression it gives from the outside. The service was very attentive, maybe too attentive. Our server came by repeatedly, almost every minute, asking if we were ready to order, even though we were clearly still reading the extensive menu. It felt a little rushed and made it hard to settle in and decide. On the plus side, the food came out relatively quickly. The sushi was okay, not bad but definitely not the best I’ve had. The fried ice cream was just okay as well. Overall, it was a decent meal but the atmosphere and service took away from the experience.

We did the hibachi grill for my son's birthday. The waiter was fantastic and the habachi cooker was also fantastic. One fun thing to know is that even if you make a reservation, they will make you wait for fifteen minutes in the hopes that somebody walks in the door to fill the other seats around the grill. So I had a reservation at noon for Friday. So no one else would be there. We had five people around a nine seat grill, and they still had us wait fifteen minutes before starting the meal in the hopes that they could squeeze more people into the grill. I wasn't terribly thrilled about that, but yeah hibachi was really fun

Just like ever -- delicious!!! We've been going to Tepanyaki for at least two decades (originally the one in Provo, and since moving to Lehi, here). It's been a few years since we went, but we were celebrating birthdays a month late and I just got say, we love this place. It seems there may have been some down years, but it was fantastic as always. We usually share the Geisha Special, but one of us wanted extra shrimp, so two plates. The soup and ginger dressing salad were so good. Then the fried noodles and fried rice -- superb. Nothing makes zucchini taste better than a hibachi grill and some teriyaki. And then the meats. Have mercy! Shrimp hot, tasty and just pops! The steak was perfect. Chicken wonderful. It was a great presentation. We had tons of fun and I'm so glad they made it through the pandemic and are alive and well. Prices don't even seem that bad with how much fast food has gone up. We will visit again!

I had an unbelievable experience here. I came here to eat some sushi and steak. I got here they immediately took me to the hibachi grill. I told them no I just want to sit at a table. I got a regular table and they gave me a sushi menu and that's it. I wanted a menu with the entrees on it. They did not understand me. I tried to explain to them that I wanted sushi and steak. The waiter did not understand what I was saying. I got frustrated and said I'll just eat the sushi. I would have spent probably $35 to $40 if they just understood English. Instead my bill was $12. Looking on the bright side, I saved money by their ignorance. Btw the sushi was okay, nothing to brag about. I will not come here again. I highly suggest eating somewhere else.

We have gone to Tepanyaki growing up a lot, but the overall experience felt pretty different since then. The restaurant was completely open on a Friday night, and felt off. The food itself was decent, and was prepared correctly even from a young chef. It still felt weird that there was no one here.
Kyle M — Google review
Really disappointed in our experience here last night. The whole thing felt off. The hostess also ended up being our server and was spread way too thin. Felt for her but she was horribly grumpy and put us on egg shells from the start. Felt like we couldn’t approach her for anything and practically served ourselves. Got our own high chairs, cleared our own garbage, had to go up to the counter and ask for our check. The hibachi server was great and that food was fine but the sushi was gross. It crumbled and fell apart and was not fresh at all. The most disappointing part was that we went to celebrate because 4/7 of our family members have a birthday this week and not once were we asked if we were celebrating and when we mentioned to the hostess that we had birthdays she didn’t even acknowledge it. An 18% gratuity was automatically added and the meal was $150 bucks. Would expect a lot more out of a the over all service and experience to justify that price. It would make a huge difference to have a host with a warm welcome and greeting. That alone would change the entire experience.

I absolutely CANNOT say a single thing wrong with this place. We got sat immediately after we walked in. They took our order right after and the appetizers came out very quickly. The hibachi chef was very welcoming and very good at his job! The food portions are huge and so delicious! We will definitely be back!

Y’all’s might want to stay clear of this place no matter how much you like this place. I’ve recommended that the doors at the front and side be sealed properly due to potential for mice. It’s Utah. You have mice! But then I started finding rat droppings in the rodent control stations and never was a change made. Right as Covid hit, I saw the sushi chef sneezing in the big bowl of washed rice. For years they had cats roaming the property that would sleep on the produce. In all the years that I’ve been a vendor for various restaurants this place is the only place that I’ve ever called the health department on. And the health department didn’t do shit.

Food was meh... Service was HORRENDOUS! DO NOT COME HERE. WAITRESS HAS HORRID ATTITUDE, IGNORED US, DID NOT BRING ENOUGH DRINKS, DISREGARDED SEVERAL REQUESTS FOR REFILLS. We were here celebrating our grandsons graduation, at his request/ choice otherwise we would never have come here. Trust me, I do not leave bad reviews without good reason. Top to bottom this was a hugely disappointing experience.

Food here was excellent. While seemingly pricey at first, they give you more than enough food for two people for two days making it a relative bargain! The service was quick and our chef was funny and friendly. Anytime we have friends from our if town, we bring them here.

Sushi Monster is a lively sushi establishment that offers a diverse range of rolls and Japanese dishes in a vibrant, contemporary setting. The eatery boasts cleanliness, amiable staff, and an extensive menu. While prices may exceed those at nearby sushi joints, the food's exceptional quality makes up for it as it consistently delivers delectable flavors. Although dining here might not be as frequent due to higher costs, ample parking and reasonable wait times make the experience convenient.
One of the best sushi experiences we have had. Great sushi and a great experience. Tasty food, attentive servers and staff, and adaptable to small changes to a menu item. Kid friendly with fast service.

First time there with a seasoned visitor. Even she was disappointed. The deep fried rolls were too big around. The dynamite roll was not good at all. It was very fishy in taste, which sounds weird, but I eat a lot of sushi, and it is never like that. It was just mediocre at best. My friend usually loves this place, so I'm not sure what was "off" today.

Fascinating… I am only used to eating at sushi restaurants in Manhattan NYC and Sushi Monster is a sharp contrast to me, an Americanized version, with giant rolls drenched in sauces, often sweetened and over stuffed with ingredients with many fried ingredients as options. That said, if you think of this as a different cuisine than real Japanese food, I found it enjoyable and the ingredients appear fresh. We had the summer roll and rainbow roll amongst others.

sushi monster is a classic place to get a quick bite with friends. we (group of 4) came into the restaurant at 4:00 and were seated immediately. i got two orders of nigiri for a total of two sweet egg nigiri and two salmon nigiri. the salmon nigiri was fine- the salmon itself was chewy and room temperature which made for a rather unpleasant eating experience and I could only eat one piece. the sweet egg, however, was delicious! it was cool (in temperature, that is) and a perfect amount of sweetness that didn’t overwhelm my palette. if you’re coming here, be sure to ask for a cup of miso soup- complementary upon request! the service was wonderful- we were being attended to in a way that was constant but not in a manner that was too intense. overall, a good spot to hit if you’re craving a good quick and easy bite, but not the spot to hit if you want sushi that’ll make you go “wow”.

Sushi was delicious! We're still timid when it comes to fish, so we had the dino roll, spicy crunch roll and the rock n roll roll. All were just perfect! The wait staff is so kind. The space is small for how busy it can get and can be loud if full - noise kind of echos through the whole restaurant, so if your looking for a quiet lunch maybe skip on Saturdays.

This place never disappoints. Not only is the food delicious and reasonably priced, the owner/general manager takes extraordinary pride in the dining experience. ONE time out of the dozen or so times we've been here, we found a small bone in a piece of salmon (in a single piece of a roll). I didn't even say anything to our server, but she saw it sitting on the side of my plate. The owner was overly apologetic, brought us an entire new roll for free (without us even asking), and seemed genuinely upset about one small misstep. You can't go wrong with a place that pays such close attention to the details. I'll always recommend Sushi Monster to my friends and family.

After checking the reviews it looks like we went on the weird off day, so take that into consideration. Everything was bland. None of the sushi showed its unique flavors, somehow the cucumbers overpowered everything but the eel in one roll. To much cream cheese in another and why 2 different types of salmon, that don't taste like salmon? One roll has so much avocado, you couldn't taste anything but the cucumber? Not the shrimp at the base? Our waitress tried her best to take our order without a pad, screwed up twice. No corrections were made. Again checking other reviewers it seems there tends to be an off day here on more then one occasion. My first time here, my last time here. I've had better flavors for better prices in less ritzy locations and I'm about the food. Not the location.

Sushi Monster is a gem of a restaurant! They offer high quality sushi at an attractive & affordable price. Great location in Station Park shopping center, the restaurant is clean, well run, with efficient & friendly service. The portions are large, with the fish quality remaining high. The vegetable tempura is cooked correctly, and the rolls don't disappoint! Highly recommend!
