Surfside is a laid-back eatery located on Sliema's promenade, offering stunning sea views and a terrace where you can enjoy global dishes, cocktails, and shisha. It is known for its panoramic view of the waves crashing on the rocks underneath from its large glass windows. The restaurant offers a wide selection of food and drinks, making it an ideal spot to sample local cuisine while enjoying the sunset or the view from the air-conditioned indoor area with floor-to-ceiling windows.
Amazing place by the beach! Lovely view, friendly staff, good food and awesome vibes! Either in party groups or families just hanging out, the place is suitable for all make up. Definitely a spot to bring friends from oversea to have an awesome at Malta!

Amazing place by the sea, overlooking the Roman baths. 3 floors. We sat on the top floor (level with the street) nicely shaded and a lovely breeze and sea view. The staff are super friendly and efficient. The food was nice too. There was a mix up with an order (garlic bread didn’t come out with the pasta dish, until the end) but they apologised and didn’t charge us for it. Great place!
S G — Google review
We visited this restaurant by chance, but the food and service truly impressed us. The food was very tasty – I had a pistachio pizza, and my fiancé had a burger, and everything was really good. Our waiter was from the Balkans, so we had a lovely chat in our own language. An absolute recommendation for a restaurant with a wonderful view and great food.
Jana M — Google review
Very nice location and a big bar, but it’s also crowded and the stuff can’t really manage the whole place. But, we had delicious desserts and drinks, would totally recommend take-away Aperol Spritz or staying at the first floor (if you like partying)
Olga O — Google review
We visited Surfside yesterday just to relax and it was the perfect spot! Located right in front of the beach, the place has a cozy and laid-back vibe, great for chilling out with friends. We enjoyed some drinks while unwinding, and loved that they even have a mini jacuzzi to add to the experience. They also offer a happy hour deal where you can get 2 drinks for the price of 1, which is a great bonus. The place is very aesthetic, with a beautiful beachside atmosphere that makes it a must-visit in Sliema.
Natalie A — Google review
Great pub-style food by the sea and fun sports bar vibe! They have a separate gluten-free kitchen which is amazing for coeliacs like me. The homemade fish and chips were lovely!
Sian E — Google review
Cool little sports bar. Dropped in for a refreshing beverage. They had the NFL and Rugby playing. Food looked amazing. The burger looked on point!!
Rocky C — Google review
Incredible place with amazing food! The BBQ ribs were perfectly cooked — juicy, flavorful, and with a generous portion. The fried calamari were tender, fresh, and delicious. We stayed until the evening when there was a live event, and we got to enjoy Caña Soul, a DJ-Latin fusion group that created an incredible atmosphere. The vibes, the music, and the food were all just perfect. An unbeatable experience — highly recommended!

Ta' Kris is a traditional restaurant located in a charming old bakery, featuring dark wood and patterned tiles that create a warm and rustic atmosphere. The menu offers a variety of regional dishes, including hearty options like rabbit stew, bragioli (beef olives), and lampuki pie (fish pie). Run by chef proprietor Chris, the restaurant retains the traditional colorful tile-work from the old bakery, adding to its authentic decor.
The restaurant is located in a charming spot with very friendly staff. The portions are huge the salad starter was really generous and delicious. Everything was tasty! The Maltese Spritzer is one of the best drinks I’ve had, and the seafood was perfectly cooked.
Maja K — Google review
This restaurant is one of the few places around offering local dishes, so it was a real shame that one of their main specialties was sold out for the night. The rest of the food was good — nothing particularly impressive, but definitely tasty and enjoyable. The staff were attentive and polite, which made the experience smoother and pleasant. However, the terrace lacks a sense of privacy. Since many people pass by, it doesn’t feel as relaxed or intimate as it could be. Overall, a decent spot with tasty food and good service, but it could really shine if they ensured their signature local dishes were always available and improved the terrace experience.
Raya P — Google review
A very popular place and it is clear why! The food tasted delicious and homemade, so this would be the perfect spot to try out authentic Maltese food. The service was however quite slow and a bit messy, we were always approached by someone new and sometimes it took quite a while to be noticed when you needed help. It's recommended to reserve a table but outside seems best, inside got pretty loud.
Darlene — Google review
This is one of the few good Maltese restaurants here in Sliema. The service is very good and fast. I enjoyed how attentive they were. You get a tasty appetizer with bread. The food is fine. I had the octopus as a starter and it was delicious! The pasta with rabbit was fine but nothing out of this world. The taste of the rabbit is not that present. So arriving here with high expectatives I was a bit disappointed that it wasn’t as mind blowing as I expected. Would give it a second chance though!
Nikita N — Google review
Was told we had to come here for Maltese food. Silema is very congested. We had the brajoli, the rabbit spaghetti and the Maltese salad. The brajoli is braised brisket, stuffed with mincemeat. Very good flavor! The spaghetti was bland and not very good. The salad was probably the best part of the meal. If you are staying in Silema, stop on by, but don’t make a special trip for the food.
Scott — Google review
This was recommended to us by the receptionist at our hotel and it didn’t disappoint. We turned up at the restaurant with no reservation but were given a table straight away. Once we’d ordered they brought out bread and crackers with some Bigilla as a dip. The bread was still warm and the Bigilla really garlicky and tasty. With a bit of research we’d learnt that portions in Maltese restaurants are generous so we just ordered mains. We both ordered the rabbit as this was our first meal in Malta and we wanted to try the national dish. It was a very generous, hearty dish full of flavour and the slow cooking meant the meat was tender and fell off the bone. Although we’d got a table straight away, the restaurant was busy and you could see the staff was doing its best to keep up. That said, they all remained friendly throughout.
BMara — Google review
Apparently this is the only authentic Maltese restaurant in Sliema. The snails lacked a bit of taste, the steak were the worst cut and full of tendons and hard to eat. If you seat outside the noise of tge street will ve very loud.
MMelom — Google review
The first meal in Malta. we had a really long day that we couldn’t wait for this meal. 2 of us ordered 3 main courses. The taste is ok. But octopus stew is not as chewy as I expected. Quite different from what I tried in Spain. I am not sure is this the maltese taste? And we sit outdoor which is a bit noisy cause it close to the street.

Cafe
Mint is a beloved waterfront cafe in Sliema, offering a relaxed atmosphere and seasonal cuisine made with locally sourced produce. The menu features a variety of dishes, including Thai fish cakes, Moroccan lamb tagine, Spanish tortilla, pies, and quiches. Run by New Zealanders, the cafe serves salads, sandwiches, smoothies, and delectable cakes. Additionally, Mint in Windsor Street is known for its healthy food options suitable for various dietary requirements and an ever-changing lineup.
If you are looking for a great breakfast spot, this is the one. Great selection of savoury and sweet dishes in the display case, that tasted as great as they looked - amazing. I had the mini breakfast cup with a lentil salad on the side and it was so good. My husband had the croque monsieur , and he said it was equally as good. This cafe is run by some super friendly Kiwis, and as an Aussie I was so happy to see they have flat whites on the menu. Also a great location by the beach with nice outdoor and indoor seating, if you are in Sliema, we highly recommend this for an awesome breakfast and good conversation.

Fantastic place for a breakfast, they have a large choice of savory and sweet dishes, from all types of sandwiches (with meat and vegetarian) to oats and cakes. When it comes to morning drinks, there is so much choice too: coffee, fresh juices and even beer. The staff is super friendly as well. For your first meal of the day, you will leave with your tummy full and with energy recharged.

Amazing food, amazing coffee, best choice for foodies in Malta, who like yummie salads, healthy food and amazing smoothies. This is - since years - one of my favorite places to go to in Malta - and I don’t know if I am just being nostalgic, but I love the variety of different offers and their Israeli Couscous which they have every now and then...

No toilets After ordering in a near empty place we had to ask when our chicken pesto wrap was coming. The coffee and the food took too long as the staff appeared preoccupied doing I don't know what. The food and the coffee were both very good and the price I would say was on the high side.

Piadina Caffe is a charming cafe located near St Johns Co-Cathedral in Valletta, offering a delightful breakfast menu featuring fresh croissants, muesli, toasts with Italian hams, and their specialty piadina. This flatbread originates from the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. The cafe is perfect for a leisurely morning or a quick lunch break, with limited seating inside but ample space on the long steps outside.
As a bread lover, their piadina definitely brought a smile to my face ☺️ The atmosphere is really cozy, but keep in mind the limited space and the fact that the seating is on steps (not ideal if you’re feeling a bit wobbly) 🫨 The service was good! We had a little misunderstanding regarding me not wanting cheese (which is very present on most items 🧀), but it was sorted out just fiiine in the end.

Awesome drinks. Fantastic service. Vibes are immaculate and such good music. Would come here over and over again wish I didn’t discover this place on my last night in Malta!

Great Little Place to grab lunch. Although i was tempted by the name...I love piadinas ....I had an Amazing base salid with all the vegan options. The outdoor seating in a Little side street on a Hill was the perfect Malta atmosphe for lunch. Note. Tables are small... Perfect for two. Also you have tò get a Little use to eating sideways ...or if you are in the chair facing down the Hill... Its like getting a slight squat workout pushings back so your chair does not slide down the Hill. All in all, i recommed the Piadina Caffè for lunch. The salid was really nice and the staff are really friendly.

We’ve been there a couple times in our stay in La Valetta and totally worth it. The vibe is super nice. They have draught beer and the food is simple but really nice (ask for recommendations).

Fantastic place with a fantastic crew. We were here last year and knew we had to come back. Huge selection of mocktails, big salads and overall a beautiful place.

I recently visited Piadina Café & Pizza and had a wonderful experience. The menu isn’t very large, but everything is prepared with great care and tastes fantastic. Their pizzas are offered in three different styles, which is a nice touch, and the salads are absolutely huge and fresh. The atmosphere is really charming – the café is located on a narrow, steep street, which adds a unique and cheerful vibe to the place. Service is attentive and friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. Overall, it’s a cozy spot with excellent food and a warm atmosphere – definitely worth a visit!

Among the many (quite similar) places in the area, this one stands out for the exceptionally good service and nice relaxed atmosphere. We were a party of 5, we were seated ina "creative" but comfortable way on the sidewalk, and had our drinks customized to out taste. Recommended!

Great drinks, pure alcohol drinks with too many choices especially in gin (that we tried) for all kinds of wallets. The owner ( Ralph )is a very nice guy with too much hospitality in him. Old Bakery's Pizza e Pasta is a charming and intimate venue located in Senglea, offering authentic Neapolitan-style pizzas made with the freshest ingredients. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive, creating a delightful atmosphere for diners. The restaurant also accommodates specific requests from customers. Guests have raved about the delicious pizza and pasta dishes, praising the unique flavors and high quality of the food.
Great place to eat! We had two of the best meals here during our stay in Valletta over the New Year. The quality of the ingredients shone through making for great tasting dishes and lovely presentation. Fair pricing for both food and wine and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. A very enjoyable experience altogether!
Sue B — Google review
Delicious food, pleasant atmosphere, polite staff. The dishes are very tasty. Maltese and Italian cuisine. Local and Italian wine. All the dishes we tried were excellent. The closed pizza is really worth the attention, as are the pasta and ravioli. Keep in mind that the restaurant is quite small and without a reservation you will have to wait. Therefore, reservations are recommended. Overall, a rather colorful and interesting place, suitable for both tourists and locals.
Mykola K — Google review
This was a very good restaurant. The staff was really nice and sweet and the food was amazing. We got the octopus in garlic for starters and would definitely recommend. The pasta diced was also amazing and the portions were huge, so you definitely don’t leave with an empty stomach:)
Helene B — Google review
My wife and I had pizzas: both of which were great to eat and really good value for money. We enjoyed them and would go again for the food. The service is lacking though: although the restaurant was quiet the staff were initially disinterested when we arrived. They took no care over helping us to a table with the first waiter barely looking up from his conversation. Food was brought out in a purely functional way with no conversation. No desert menu offered. The owner needs to tighten this up!
Richard H — Google review
Great place for a salad, fantastic pasta, tasty pizzas & calzone! Warm welcoming staff & a great follow-up with tiramisu. If you are nearby, please try regional wine and Gozo beer. If you opt for Belgian, they have a surprise for you! We have been 3 times during the week and plan to be back! Cheers!

Manouche is a bakery that offers a unique twist on the traditional Maltese treat, Figolli. They provide a variety of flavored Figolli with different bases like pistachio and almond, as well as fillings such as fondant or marzipan. These decadent, egg-shaped treats promise to elevate your enjoyment of this classic dessert.
The very best brunch and lunch place in the region. They offer such big selection of brunch dishes and they serve so fast and work very efficient. I love this place. Haven't had that quality cappuccino for a long time. And the breakfast brioche buns just melt in your mouth, so soft and fresh. And oh my...the pastries and cakes they make....to die for honestly wow, so worth the money. So overall very very good place, one of my new favourites for sure.

The review doesn't need much explaining, you can tell by the smile on my face and the takeaway in my hand to know that the experience was a solid 5 stars. Very good selection of sweets and pastries for those with a sweet tooth and there's something for everyone as the tastes and flavors that make their line of eats is vast. Needless to say that I'll be visiting again 😃

Be cautious with the food when shewing as we found egg shell and the avocado’s stem in our plates! The place is spacious and has many tables, there is a variety in sweets, it runs out of croissants very quickly.

Great place for breakfast and brunch! They have very large menu and serve breakfast till 3 pm. They have many tables, but I still recommend to book in advance especially in summer. Their coffee is delicious! I think they have one of the best breakfasts in the area. This time I tried avocado toast and I will be honest it was ok. My husband had eggs beef brisket and it tasted amazing! It was so good, that I ordered it as well! I really really recommend it! Manouche also offers a lot of desserts, bakery and chocolate. I love their dark chocolate with hazelnuts; as for other desserts, they are way too sweet for me

The brownie tastes a bit off. Please change the butter that you used for it and add a bit of cocoa to the recipe. And please reheat the brownies that don't have frosting before serving. Chai latte is good, better than other coffee shops in Malta. Service was excellent. Very attentive and courteous staff. The place is clean and we'll ventilated. Individual seats are not very comfy. Balcony seating is available. A good venue to hangout with friends and family for some small bites in St. Julian's busy area.

The Croce Bonaci Caterers is a nice and affordable place for snacks, with delicious coffee and tea. They have a pretty view, but unfortunately it cannot be seen in the photo due to the lighting. The staff are friendly and recommend the place.
Very affordable without skimping on flavor! We don’t typically stop for a meal at a place we happen to walk past but today it worked out in our favor! Order for takeaway or eat at one of the bistro tables (inside or outside). Constant stream of patrons, local and tourist alike. Many options for comfort foods that are heated up before coming to your table. Chicken pie has a savory filling of corn, peas, and mushrooms, enclosed in a flaky crust. Fried pasta was surprisingly al dente. Less than €8 for both dishes!

We were lucky enough to find this place while visiting Valetta. It made a wonderful lunch stop. You can sit outside and soak up the atmosphere or sit inside where it’s lovely and cool. Staff were amazing explaining all the food choices and giving their recommendations based on my preferences. Food was home made and very tasty. Best of all, the prices are low. Don’t miss this place on your travels!

Best way to start the day. Cappuccino was creamy and hot. Pastries are freshly baked every day. We came back every single morning. No waiting time and they took the time to answer our questions about what pastries were available. The guy gifted us with pastries when he found out we were leaving Malta and we would have not been there the following morning. Very personable and nice people working there.
Andrea C — Google review
I’ve been living in Malta for 2 years and I can say that (almost) everything they serve at Croce Bonaci is popular with Maltese people…the sweets are not the best, not made from top ingredients, but are what you would see in most confectioneries/sweet shops across the island. Same goes for the pastries. Fried pasta - another popular option that you would see in maaaany places…and so on, so on, so on :) I would recommend this place specifically because of these popular Maltese snacks/treats.

Great donuts at reasonable prices. I'd definitely come back here as I really enjoyed the Boston cream donut. It wasnt overly sweet and had good tasting chocolate on top. Unlike some of the other reviews, my donut had an ample amount of filling in it, but not enough to make it gross.
Aneel M — Google review
The place is nice and the service was very good. But unfortunately the donuts weren’t good at all, it wasn’t fresh. The coffee was good though but overall I don’t recommend the place.
Mostafa H — Google review
Sorry for that and just consider this for glutenfree: I went there hoping I could have a gluten free donut, the only thing available was a “mini donut”, however that was just an upside down muffin covered as a donut, and also not good at all. They also had a gluten free brownie, which was slightly better but also not something I would recommend anyone. I am sure (or hoping) the normal donuts are good, considering the other reviews. However the gluten free topic needed an update. If you want to offer gluten free stuff please offer something that is also of better quality- and don’t call a muffin a donut.

Had a good experience in this place, I had breakfast almost every day during my trip to Malta. Always was welcomed with a good fresh coffee, hot sandwiches and tasty donuts. The owner was very kind and alwasys helps me. I do really recommend the place for a starting in the morning!
Cacia S — Google review
Ordered: 3 donuts, one chocolate, one cinnamon sugar, and one Boston creme. Service: Friendly, average. The donuts were good, I'd say average to slightly above average, but not by much. From the pictures I had the expectation of something a bit higher quality, but the certainly leans more heavily into the "factory" part of the name. The donuts themselves were typical yeast donuts, the dough was soft and chewy, and just the right amount of sweet. I appreciated the puffiness of each one, instead of the deflated, squished donuts you find at a supermarket for example. The toppings on the Boston cream were decorative, certainly giving an attractive appearance, but not exceptionally tasty. The chocolate was average and the creme was average. Was expected more, and ended up with something good, but not great. I would return however.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful ice cream experience, look no further than Häagen-Dazs! This charming counter-service chain offers an array of scoops, sorbets, sundaes, shakes, and smoothies that are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. Located on Republic Street in Valletta, this ice cream parlour is renowned for its classic flavors like cookie dough chip and pralines and cream.
Ice cream at Häagen Days is delicious. Although it is available at some supermarkets, it is worth visiting this shop. They also have tubs to take away. We had chocolate cookie, and mango raspberry. The ambience is relaxing, and retains some original features.

Nice place on two floors, attentive and fast service, knowledgeable and skilled staff. Very good waffle combination plus ice cream and Belgian dark chocolate sauce. The place is located in one of the main streets of Valletta, prices in line with the location where the ice cream shop is located and for the quality of the products offered. I will definitely be going back there

The place and options are good, but staff was unreasonable. We order 2 crepes, we went outside and ate them, after finishing it, my friend wanted to use their restroom, but he was yelled at by staff because we was “not customer”. Crepes was not freshly made but only microwaved.

Bakery
Kyoto Japanese Bakery is a charming coffee shop that offers a delightful selection of Japanese-inspired sweets and dishes. The cozy atmosphere and sea view from the window seats make it an inviting spot to enjoy their amazing matcha coffee. The menu features treats like matcha cinnamon latte, coconut bun, cheese and edamame bun, yuzu tart pastry, egg tart, and complimentary light chocolate cake.
A hidden place in Sliema, located right next to Starbucks, Kyoto Japanese Bakery is a delightful place to enjoy something different, delicious, and uniquely Japanese. I popped in for a quick bite and was genuinely impressed by both the quality and charm of the place. I ordered a double espresso and one of their Chocolate Chip breads, which was soft, light, and spongy—perfectly baked and not overly sweet. The coffee was also great, strong and smooth, just the way I like it. The bakery display is beautiful and full of tempting options. I’ll be attaching photos of everything to show just how much variety they offer. From sausage rolls and chicken curry pastries to bacon epi, matcha-infused treats, and other delicate Japanese-style desserts, there’s something here to please every palate. The portions are ideal for a quick snack or light lunch, and everything is presented with care and attention to detail. What really made the experience special was the warm and friendly service. The staff were welcoming and kind, and they took time to explain some of the baked goods I hadn’t tried before. You can really feel the passion behind the concept. Kyoto Bakery is a refreshing change from the usual cafés around town—a place where Japanese flavours meet a European café vibe. Whether you’re just passing by or specifically seeking it out, it’s definitely worth a visit. A unique and charming spot that adds something truly special to the Maltese food scene.

Lovely place! A true gem in Malta. Thank you Kyoto for introducing me to the BEST Matcha I’ve tried. Isabella and Maria were really nice and the recommendations they made were perfect! Definitely will be back. And don’t forget to order the fluffy cheesecake! You won’t regret it, it’s heaven!!!

Very delicious and sweet bread that has different flavours and the form of a turtle really cute. I had the chocolate chip turtle and the strawberry turtle. Both were very good but the chocolate chip was my clear favorite. The coffees were both also super delicious and the price is totally fair.

We visited a small Japanese bakery called Kyoto. Inspired by Kyoto a city in Japan known for historic sites and gardens. Anyway this little cafe was so cute, there were lots of sweet treats from the donuts to the matcha treats and turtle shaped cookies. I ordered a Matcha with oat milk and I have to say it's one of my faviourite, lots of oat milk and the matcha seemed smooth and less bitter. definitely check this cafe out!
Taylor T — Google review
Been few times before and it definitely used to be better food-wise. They have non-lactose and number of nut milk varieties. The staff is always friendly, polite, patiently answers all questions and explains what is what. But they all look like they work long hours and are seriously tired. When we walked in there were 2 empty tables both dirty, we were choosing for quite a while, then places our order, sat down at dirty table and had to ask for the table to be cleaned when they brought our order. The hot chocolates were very sweet and watery. That's why the whipped cream of my hot chocolate immediate sunked in. The picacchu pastry was quite dry.

ILY food is amazing no misses with high quality ingredients. trust i HATE matcha but theirs (called shreck ashes if you pay attention) is insanely good. tried almost all the buns, they dont skimp out in cream and both the japanese and basque cheesecake is above my dads standards (who is a baker) service is amazing everyone there is so kind <3 same with climate if photos are what youre looking for price is very fair especially compared to the other bakeries around (under €4 for most baked goods) stayed in the area a week and went there multiple times a day, i am 50% melon bread atp. i will DEFINITELY be back asap

I honestly debating which matcha infused food should I take but the one with strawberry didn’t disappoint. The matcha latte is kinda lacking on matcha taste but it is okay, yet could’ve better. Next time I’ll try the other cakes. the place is small yet cozy.

WOM - Word of Mouth is a popular breakfast and brunch spot in Malta, taking over the location of the former Mint. Visitors love the food, service, and overall vibe of this place. It offers a variety of gluten-free options and has a cool setting with quirky touches. The brunch selection is great, albeit a bit pricey, but worth it. The atmosphere is cozy with relaxing music and friendly staff. It's recommended to make reservations as it's quite popular.
Amazing service and amazing food!! My girlfriend got the waffle tower and I got the pulled beef burger both were absolutely amazing the waffle is a sweeter meal and the pulled beef burger is more savory. They have all day happy hour on Fridays and it is beautiful! Also the service is great and felt very welcoming! Cocktails are also really good we got the space age love song and it was really sweet and honestly not expensive for how good they were. Would recommend booking unless you’re planning on going early in the morning like 11am.

Saw this place in TikTok and just knew we had to try it. It said that it was busy, so we made a reservation for the morning. I think because we are here not during peak tourist season, it was that busy in the morning. Got the raspberry smoothie, excellent! Then we got the worm eggs royale and the waffle stack! They were both very generous portions. Excellent quality, very fresh. I highly recommend for breakfast.
Gabby S — Google review
Very nice and tasty place in Malta. I enjoyed a cup of wonderful coffee and a bowl of açai. Definitely recommend! It was sooo good. Also the other food options looked quite tempting. If you are in the area - give it a try.

This place is amazing and we just Absolutely loved it. We came here for breakfast every day of our holiday and it was brilliant. I'd definitely reccomend booking as they get super busy. Our favourite breakfasts were the nesting eggs bendict and the avo smash with bacon but we tried 8 different options between us and they were great. Also highly reccomend the raspberry beret smoothie 🥰 Thank you!

We had pistachio pancakes and a halloumi salad. The service was excellent, however the food didn’t quite reach our expectations. As constructive feedback, I’d recommend changing the sponge batter to a real pancake batter, and not adding so much sweetness in the salad dressing (the salad was actually sweeter than the pancakes). Coffee was nice, and the coins for the music box after food is definitely a unique touch, not to mention the disco bathroom! -overall, it was a nice experience!
Amelita B — Google review
Had a great experience, I ordered the matcha with coconut milk and vanilla syrup it was very good, as well as the eggs royale which were very tasty although they didn’t appear like the classic eggs royale. The Acaï bowl was also sooo good and the presentation for all dishes was a 10/10. We also had the green juice which was very tasty as well as the OMFG meal which was really nice although slightly well done and chewy but nonetheless really tasty and the red sauce with it was very very good. Service was amazing as well staff were so friendly and accommodating and we felt very comfortable. Additionally the atmosphere was lovely you also have a slight view of the sea from the outdoor seating and it’s very well decorated and cozy indoors. Will definitely be coming back and trying more dishes but thoroughly enjoyed my brunch today!!

When in Malta, a visit to Malta Pastizzi is a must for anyone looking to sample one of the most famous Maltese foods - the pastizzi. These sizable phyllo dough pastries come in various flavors, traditionally stuffed with ricotta cheese or mushy peas. Located on Merchant Street, this food stall offers traditional Maltese pastizzi that are both cheap and delicious.
I knew this place from reading the reviews from travel blog. The shop is easy to find. I bought 3 pieces and all of them are so delicious. The texture is perfect and taste as well. Chicken mushroom is my favorite one.
AS S — Google review
The best Pastizzi I’ve ever had… the cheese and peas remind me of my childhood. The lightest, crispy pastry cooked to perfection and properly filled with tasty smooth ricotta or peas that melts between the pastry and leaves you wanting more.
Suzanne B — Google review
Freshly baked goods with excellent flavor. Their Pastizzi (ricotta cheese in filo pastry) is especially delicious, a must-try when in Valletta.
Pamela — Google review
Excellent, flaky, fresh and warm pastizzi. I had the cheese one, and loved it!
Priyanka R — Google review
The best pastizz! We searched for the national traditional Malta pastizzi for days. This is the best ones we had, but also the cheapest prices!! So strange huh. The pastries are freshly made every morning. He closes shop before 2pm, sometimes around 1pm. Lol When we tried the first pizelli, I went back to get another one and also waited for freshly baked rikotta. Highly recommended. Wish we could try more types but he sold out all the other type of pastizzi for the last day of our trip.
Sophia G — Google review
At Manuela’s they use their Family RECEPIES - great tasting Pastizzi (singular is pastizz) ….these are a small pastry made with a crisp flaky dough and typically stuffed with fillings like ricotta cheese, mushy peas etc. We tried the peas and ricotta. Excellent. We also tried the Qassatat…These pastry pockets are larger and less flaky than pastizzi, and are often filled with the same traditional fillings: ricotta or peas. Enjoyed them.
Fulldistance G — Google review
Delicious and affordable! The pastry was baked to a beautiful golden brown and the filling was flavourful! The pea one was my favourite.

Jeff's Pastizzeria in Valletta is a must-visit bakery for anyone traveling to Malta. The shop offers delicious local pastries with flaky crusts and various savory fillings, such as pea, spinach, mushroom, anchovies, and tuna. The warm and fresh pastizzi are highly recommended and are priced reasonably due to government subsidies. Visitors can also enjoy other treats like apple pies with fantastic crusts and warm apple cinnamon filling.
What a gem this humble place is. All the pastries are fresh warm and delicious. The guy who owns it is very lovely , welcoming of if I made the kind of food he made I’d be happy too 😃.. but seriously all the locals were lining up outside which is a testimony of how great this place is. The apple pie is a must !!

came here to try some traditional maltese pastries. i had the pastizzi with both ricotta and peas filling, as well as a qassata with ricotta. you can really taste how fresh the pastries are. they were straight out of the oven. the fillings were very flavourful, especially the peas one which reminded me of mushy peas. they only accept cash, so make sure to bring some. the prices are very fair and you can get a tasty lunch or snack for really cheap.

My first pastizzi were from supermarket and they sucked. I was disappointed and though I will never eat them again. 😪 Then I discovered this place and gave them another shot. They were much better! The reason why? It is the filling!!! - there is more of it and it is of higher quality. ☺️

Manouche Craft Bakery in Valletta is a delightful blend of Maltese and French culinary expertise. The bakery and bistro offer a modern twist on classic French dishes using fresh local ingredients. Their high-quality coffee perfectly complements the exceptional food. With outdoor seating providing a lovely view of the church, it's an ideal spot for brunch. Despite the rain, attentive staff ensured a pleasant dining experience.
The food was very delicious we had an omelette and an English breakfast, and finished with dessert. The savory dishes were tasty, though I wouldn’t call them exceptional. However, the sweet pastries were really good, especially the pistachio Paris-Brest.

We had a really yummy brunch at Manouche this morning. Our drinks took a while to come but it was relatively busy and so understandable. We tucked into eggs Benedikt, Norwegian eggs, Eggs Florentine and sourdough with bacon jam, scrambled eggs and asparagus. All were very tasty and reaonably priced given where we were. Next time we will save space for something sweet as they all looked delicious as well! A great spot in the heart of Valletta for breakfast/brunch or lunch - we will return!

We had the most delicious breakfast ever 🥰😍 it was so yummy and so tasty, the eggs were so fresh and delicious, everything was so nice. I recommend this place! Only thing were the birds flying around the table but ok 🙈 Loved the food, love the ladies who were serving us, absolutely beautiful
Tena F — Google review
We came here for brunch, but unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to expectations. The “French toast” wasn’t really French toast at all, and overall the food felt too industrial, nothing special and lacking in flavor. The lemonade was far too sweet, and my friend’s fish and chips were made with low-quality fish and tasted just as tired as they looked. The one highlight was the onion soup, which we genuinely enjoyed. The setting has potential, it’s in a charming old Maltese house, which is impressive. However, even with its historic charm, the bathroom area could use much better sanitation and a quick, regular clean.

My wife and I visited here after visiting the cathedral as we were in need of refreshments (we didn't have food). Got a table very easily, service was good and friendly. Great coffee and Aperol at a good price and we were fortunate to use it to avoid a heavy rainstorm.

Carolina's Petit Cafe & Tearoom has two distinct locations, each with its own unique style and decor. Despite their differences, both locations are equally charming and offer delightful afternoon teas. The cafe offers a variety of afternoon tea options, including deluxe, Maltese (featuring pastizzi), pink, funfair-themed, kids' tea, vintage tea, and traditional varieties. The decor is described as beautiful and whimsical, creating a dreamy atmosphere that's perfect for capturing photos.
Visited twice during our stay in Malta. The first was for a "Valentine" themed afternoon tea and it was amazing. I've had afternoon tea all over the world and this ranks high (for food, tea was OK and is not the specialty). So pretty, and portions were great. Went back again for crepes and coffee one afternoon - delicious! Atmosphere is lovely. Recommend.

An amazing surprise in the touristic part of Sliema. A beautiful hidden coffee and dessert treasure . The decoration is transfer you to a fairy tale kids room..s is not The only minus point is the ordering system ( they don’t have table service but instead you order and (pre)pay your order… But at the end… after all this beautiful food and drink options the total experience is great.. If you pass by Sliema , take a break and try Carolina..

Lovely place from the exterior but some work necessary at the front. Fake flower baskets old, dirty and falling off as were what I think was the signage lights, you should be able to see from the photo. Service was strange... We were only there an hour and although the system is digital and were given a numbered wooden spoon, we were twice offered the wrong order... Remember waitress' service is supposed to come with a smile.. not a grimace! The food to was slightly peculiar... I ordered a bacon and chicken wrap which was okay, wasn't expecting it to come out hot and was covered in beetroot and mango chutney which was from my partners seeded healthy bun, which she said was over filled and soggy.... Inside the place is delightful clean and lovely and the cake and biscuits looked 5*... Perhaps this place should be strictly tea and cake? This would be my advice if visiting... Atmos and view were nice enough so we soaked that up... Overall the experience was, unfortunately, a bit of a let down. Big style of substance is the summary.
Philip M — Google review
We were enamored with the look of the place from across the street. The decoration is lovely, the staff is nice..then we got the food. Cupcakes and two cakes we wanted to try. The cream is horrendous. By taste i assume made from margarine wirh added dye and sugar. We left the desserts on the plate. Paired with the dirty glass my aunt got for her drink, it was not a pleasant experience. Cute for photos but not much else.

Carolinas Petit Cafe' & Tearoom is a delightful little gem in Sliema that perfectly balances elegance and comfort. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a charming ambiance and friendly service that made us feel right at home. The **blueberry cheesecake** was simply divine—creamy, rich, and perfectly complemented by the subtle tartness of the blueberries. The **honey and walnut cake** was a masterpiece of textures and flavors, with the sweetness of the honey beautifully harmonizing with the crunch of the walnuts. To top it off, the **affogato** was a refreshing indulgence, expertly prepared to deliver that perfect balance of espresso and vanilla ice cream. The attention to detail in both the decor and menu makes Carolinas Petit Cafe' & Tearoom a truly special experience. Whether you're stopping by for a relaxing afternoon tea or a sweet treat, this place is a must-visit. Highly recommended!
Marius G — Google review
This could be such a cute place for Afternoon Tea with a glass of Prosecco. Its a good price and it looked lovely.... but they've got so many things wrong. Burger slice cheese in a cheddar cheese combo sandwich. Triple decker sandwiches cut in half. Stale biscuits and macaroons. Dressing on the salad which soaks through into the bread. Don't expect a dainty afternoon tea with fingers sandwiches and a choice of delicious cakes and moist scones. We thought we would give it a second go and just have tea and cake ...... it was as bad as the first. A HUGE slab of dry cake which had seen better days. I like the quirkiness but not the food.

Nestled in the heart of Malta, the Chocolate District is a delightful haven for chocolate lovers. This charming shop prides itself on offering some of the finest cacao creations around, making it an irresistible stop for anyone seeking sweet indulgence. From artisan chocolates to rich hot chocolate infused with local fig liqueur, every bite promises to evoke that warm and fuzzy feeling only chocolate can provide. During my visit, I was captivated by their decadent offerings despite a minor hiccup with their steam machine.
Was looking to cool off during a hot July afternoon. Came across this place for some iced coffee and iced chocolate. Both were delicious. Also treated ourselves to some chocolates. We also had a walnut, almond and fig pastry. There is a wide variety of coffee. Staff was very attentive and prepared our drink quickly.

Simply amazing! 🤩 We stumbled upon this place by accident, but it didn't disappoint. We tried the chocolate shots (70 grams of molten chocolate) and we loved it. We were already back just a few hours to try the chocolate cake, which was great as well. They serve a very well balanced cold brewed tea, super pleasant. Great staff, helpful and willing to talk about their products. Must visit!

This place is amazing! Let me set the scene.. we are walking around Malta, we turn down a street when it starts raining and we smell chocolate. Like delicious chocolate. So we go down the steps to find the most magical chocolate shots from a chocolate fountain and special coffees (sea salt caramel chocolate latte). The service was great and the chocolate spoke for itself. Still the best latte I've ever had in Europe 💛

One of the best cafeterias in Valletta. Just amazing. We ordered a chocolate cake and a traditional Maltese coffee. I have no regrets about it. My only minor comment is regarding the heat inside the shop. It could have been cooler inside.

Really nice experience here at Chocolate District. We started with an Iced Chocolate Mint and a Chocolate Orange Martini — they were so good we ended up ordering another martini (the Baileys Martini). The chocolate is so rich that I couldn’t have another one after finishing my Chocolate Mint. If you’re like me and can only handle one cup, I’d skip the regular chocolate drinks (don’t get me wrong, they’re delicious) and try something from their cocktail menu instead. The Orange Martini was surprisingly light and balanced — you can really taste each ingredient. The Baileys Martini was also well-balanced and beautifully presented. I’ve seen some reviews mentioning bad service, but that wasn’t our experience at all. The server chatted with us for a bit and explained how he made the cocktails. He also took time to speak with another customer, explaining why they couldn’t fulfill their request (making an Iced Maltese Coffee). I’d say they just have high standards for their products — or maybe someone caught them on an off day. We’ll definitely be back to try the Biscoff Espresso Martini next time. P.S. I’m eating the peppered cheeselet chocolate while writing this review — it has a nice balance of goat cheese and chocolate flavor, with a hint of peppery spiciness on top. Very tasty!

IL-Forn Ta' L-Ghawdxi is a popular dining spot where you can enjoy delicious pizzas and good service. It's recommended to share a pizza with someone as the portions are generous. However, it's important to note that the menu leans towards indulgent options and lacks vegetable choices. The take-away option ensures that the pizzas arrive warm and crispy, making for a satisfying meal experience.
They ready fast and delicious, price is resonable.

Pizza and tira were great and I didn’t even wait more than 15 minutes, friendly staff, the only thing is they don’t have dine in option, it’s all to go

I don't usually write reviews, but here i ate 2 tasty medium size pizzas for 8-10 euros each. Keep up the good work!
Victor D — Google review
Pizzas are super delicious, we had them take away and arrived warm and crunchy, keep up the great work.

Slow service, watery Aperol spritz and an average burger at best. The rabbit burger-patty contained more veggies than meat (flavourless), the fries lacked salt and came with no extra sauce. Over all, with a price tag of 16.50€ definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Delicious pizza, must try the traditional maltese pizza. For cheese lovers they have an extra crunchy cheese margins which are amazing, lots of cheese

Food was horrible. Nothing is fresh and is just a waste of money buying here. Leaving this review here to save people making the mistake I did. I want refund!!!

We ate hear on the first day of our trip. Overall the food and service was good. But I would recommend sharing a pizza with two persons. Further more know that this is a very unhealthy dinner and don't expect any vegetables.
