Gorgeous bakery, lovely staff, but everything I tried was meh… The photo of the rhubarb crumble shows how much filling there is vs the dough.. madeleines were to big and fluffy, tasted like muffins, the sardine breads was lackluster and the puffy dough had no character or taste, the teeny baguette was alright.. It’s ok but (a) I wouldn’t travel across Amsterdam for this, and (b) I won’t return

Le Fournil is an absolute must-visit for anyone who loves real French bread and pastries. From the moment you step inside, you’re welcomed by the wonderful smell of freshly baked baguettes, croissants, and other traditional treats. Everything is made authentically, and you can really taste the difference in quality. Their croissants are perfectly buttery and light, exactly how they should be. The pains au chocolat are consistently excellent too—crispy on the outside and rich on the inside. The staff are friendly and helpful, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. In short: a little piece of France that you’ll want to keep coming back to.

On our last day in Amsterdam, I stopped by this bakery after reading the great reviews online — and it truly lived up to the praise! There was still a good selection at 5.30pm, maybe because of the poor weather. I was happy to pick up croissants (€2), a whole apple tart (€15), financiers, canelés, and a rhubarb tart. Everything was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. The staff was friendly and packed everything up nicely. Highly recommended!!

I’ve got Cigalou (with olives and sun-dried tomatoes) and financier today. Both were extremely tasty, cigalou is very soft, but still flavorful and yummy. However, i came for croissants and it’s not nice at all to have them out of stock at 15:55, when it’s french bakery and it’s open till 19:00. And service must definitely be improved, it was noisy and crowded in store, so i can barely hear and the guy at the counter served me with a bit of sarcasm and reluctance, which wasn’t really nice

Loved the Pavlova. It was fluffy, light, and there was no eggy taste/smell. Be prepared for a long wait tho!

THE best bakery in all of the Netherlands in my opinion. Freshest, fluffiest, most delicious pastry. Brioche buns they have are phenomenal, and their rhubarb crumble is excellent.

So glad I went out of my way to buy stroopwafels here before we went home. They aren’t exactly the kind you see in all the other shops. They are more like a very thin spiced biscuit with the caramel inside. And I loved it!

Holy crap this is the best stroopwafel that I had in my life! I wish that I had bought a box to go when I was there. The store is small and quaint, but the stroopwafel is so good. I highly recommend!

This stroopwafel was honestly the best I’ve ever tried! Perfectly balanced in flavor, not overly sweet, just the right amount of caramel, and so tasty with my coffee. The texture was soft but still had a nice bite to it. A must try if you’re looking for an authentic and delicious treat..

This place makes very good Stroopwafels with honey. The poppy seeds dessert, the ginger almonds and the Oliebll were also very good. There is a place to sit inside and coffee is available. The service isn't the friendliest out there especially towards newcomers. Highly recommended nonetheless.

Lovely bakers and very kindly took an order of Oliebollen from me for mine and my wife's birthday for early October. Excellent taste and also bought some butter cookie pieces. Can't recommend this bakery for sweet treats enough! <3 thank you.

I heard a lot about their Stroopwafel, so I was excited to try it, but honestly, it was a huge letdown. It was way too hard, super crunchy, cold and pretty much tasteless. Definitely not what I was expecting. And for the price? Totally not worth it. I really don’t get the hype. As someone who’s tried pastries all over Asia and Europe, I can confidently say this was one of the most overrated ones I’ve had in my life. I was expecting something maybe a bit softer (?), warmer, or at least flavorful, but instead, it was just a plain, sugary crunch with no real taste. The cappuccino was also pretty cold, which was really disappointing. As someone who has lived in Italy for years, this felt like a huge disappointment to what a proper cappuccino should be. It’s not just about the taste—it’s about the experience, and serving it lukewarm just ruins it. Not trying to be rude, but there’s absolutely nothing special about it. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. There are way better options out there for pastries or a sweet breakfast, specially if you already have tried good pastries in other European countries or Asia.

Never really been sold on vegan pastries, but this place got closer than I expected. Stopped in for a quick bite on a Friday morning. Came about an hour after opening and luckily didn’t hit a line. The shop itself was tiny (3 cramped tables), and I only grabbed a seat because a kind stranger offered to give his up. There’s a bigger deli with proper seating across the canal, but the pastry selection wasn’t the same. Pistachio Raisin Cruffin – Supposedly their pistachio cruffin is the signature, but on my visit it came in this pistachio-raisin detour. The interior was plush and moist. But as some locals pointed out, they no longer use pistachio cream, so pistachio barely whispered through. More like a dressed-up raisin bread than the nutty pastry I had in mind. Pain au Chocolat Hazelnut – Don’t see a lot of twists on pain au chocolat even in trendy bakeries, but this worked. Lamination was on point, crisp outside and structured inside, and instead of the usual baton of chocolate, it came with a hazelnut mousse filling and almond chunks on top. Missing that buttery perfume of a true viennoiserie, of course, but still satisfying. The mousse ran a tad mild at first, but hidden bits of chocolate inside pulled it back nicely. Salted Pistachio Cream Latte – Clearly targeted for American tourists (and judging by the crowd, it seemed to be working). The latte itself was a bit flat though. Much like their cruffin, the pistachio cream was too faint.

I would say this bakery is a must visit for ANYONE - but particularly if you're a vegan. There's a different variety of pastries available every day and every one I tasted was crispy and flaky, with incredible flavour combinations. I ended up coming back a second time because it was too good! (Only con is very limited seating indoors, although you can get a drink at the pub opposite where there's more seating.)

This is a pastry shop with very limited seating. You’ll have to wait in line a bit, and they only serve croissants and coffee. It was good—not a “5-star amazing” experience, but an ordinary, nice taste. Instead of the classic, it might be better to try the pistachio or almond ones, at least you really get the flavor. If you’re in the area, it’s worth a stop, but it’s not a “wow” kind of place.

A vegan bakery gem for pistachio lovers Saint-Jean is an incredible vegan bakery. I tried the pistachio cruffin, and as a true pistachio fan, I can honestly say it had the best pistachio filling I’ve ever tasted. The filling was rich, full of flavor, and there was plenty of it — no stingy portions here! The dough was just as impressive: perfectly baked, soft yet flaky. A must-visit spot if you love pastries, vegan or not.

Fortunately, I went at a time when there was hardly any queue. The pistachio cruffin was definitely a highlight—flaky, crunchy, creamy and nutty. On the other hand, the yogurt berry toast was disappointing, The toast itself was quite dry, and the combination with the yogurt icing felt mismatched—the textures clashed, and the flavors didn’t come together as well as I’d hoped. That said, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, which added a nice touch to the visit.

Honestly, this place has the best pastries in Amsterdam. Both the coffee and the buns are absolutely incredible - the dough literally melts in your mouth, and they’re packed with filling. MUST VISIT if you have a sweet tooth

I stumbled upon this gem in Amsterdam and was pleasantly surprised to find two shops right across from each other — both with the same name, but each offering something different. One specializes in desserts, while the other focuses on savory items. Everything I tried was absolutely delicious. You can really taste the quality and care in every bite. Whether you're in the mood for something sweet or salty, this place has you covered. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

Amazing bakery - we had the Palestinian savory danish and the ham & cheese croissant and it was absolutely delicious. We will be dreaming of the croissant tonight - it tasted exactly how it looked: flaky but not crumbly, buttery, flavorful. The matcha was perfect too. Would be nice if there more possibilities to sit, as there are just a few benches inside and outside - but if kept in mind it is totally fine. We will be back soon! It’s a must try for vegans and non-vegans 💚

The staff were so kind, and I was so happy to discover this fully dairy-free bakery in Amsterdam! 🤤🥰 It felt amazing to finally enjoy such delicious croissants and pastries without having to worry about dairy. The cakes were also absolutely delicious – I truly recommend this place to everyone! 🥰

Dairy allergy safe ✅!!! All vegan bakery. I've been to quite a lot of vegan bakeries at this point, and I'd honestly say the pistachio rose danish here was the best pastry I've ever had. I also got the cheese croissant which was also amazing. I went with my friend two days in a row on our trip because it was that good (and got the pistachio one both days). I'm deathly allergic to dairy so it's always a really nice treat when I can eat at 100% vegan places without my normal allergy anxiety!! But my friend who isn't vegan loved it just as much. The lattes were great as well. Highly recommend!!!!!!!!

This place is just phenomenal when it comes to 🥯 I just had the most delicious Palestinian pastry with cheese and herbs ! So so aromatic and delicious! Also I had to try their apple saluted caramel danish and was fire 🔥! Highly recommended when in Amsterdam !

Really nice vegan bakery, small variety but they all looked delicious. We had I think 6 different ones which as vegans we can't find in many places, like the croissants. I would have preferred if the cheese croissant had a little more filling, and the same with the pain au chocolat. They were all delicious though, and really reasonable prices. It didn't have many places to sit just two seats outside and one on the inside, so it's more a to go place. Would totally recommend!!

Came here and tried the bread pudding which was unfortunately a poor choice. It was just a block of bland stodge! It really had no flavour at all, including the icing on top, which is a shame because I loveee a bread pudding. Maybe a poor pick from our part, hence why I’ve only ducted one star.. All the other pastries looked delightful, service was efficient and the place has a real buzz to it. I’ll be back, just not for the bread pudding 🥲

Omg,the staff were so friendly and really took good care of the customers. Sometimes when I go to places, I come across employees who are superficial and not genuinely friendly, but Fort Negen was completely different. Their miso cookie, kaas croissant, and of course their almond chocolate croissant are the best!

4.5/5 The almond croissant has a high butter content, making it crispy and flaky, but the pastry itself is rather flat and the air pockets aren’t very noticeable. There’s a generous amount of almond cream, and it’s not too sweet. I really like it. The cruffin, on the other hand, wasn’t as impressive. The sugar on the outside was a bit too sweet and overpowered the buttery aroma of the pastry, and it wasn’t as crispy as I expected. The filling had more fruit jam than cream.

A very popular local one! Also you can see a long queue in the shop. They offer many options with bread, pastries, ice cream and others. I wanna have a cruffin but they only serve them on weekends. Instead I took a choco almond croissant and kombucha. The croissant is very different from the ones in France, here they are more crispy, and idk if it’s common the one I bought had two layers. The filling is rich, I can taste so many chocolate. I saw a lot of locals they bought 4 or 5 bags, so I think the bread should be good too! Recommend to come and have a try!

Very good bakery with tasty croissants, they also sell bread. The most tasty one was almond-chocolate croissant, the best one i tried so far, i went today to buy one more, but it wasn’t available, and took chocolate one which was also fresh and crispy Cheese croissant and classic ones is also very fresh and tasty, very recommended

Finally I visited this bakery. The place is cute and the service is high. There is a very good choice of sweet baked goods like cinnamon rolls, pain au chocolate, many types of croissants, gluten free brownies and bread ofc. I took an almond croissant which was good, rich but still a bit on the heavy side for me when it comes to butter.. But this is typically dutch,overall was good, just not my taste completely so I will try something different next time. The brownie was delicious, I will take it again for sure. They bake the goods in front of you and you can see the ladies knitting the dough live from the windows shop

This place is insane—in the best way! They have the best cinnamon roll I’ve ever had in my life. Everything else I tried was also incredibly good. If you’re anywhere nearby or not nearby, do yourself a favor and stop in. You won’t regret it!

I still remember the chocolate and pecan praline cream habano and I would go back to Amsterdam just to have it again! So delicious, my God! Even though the size looks like it would be huge, it’s not. It’s super airy and the cream is light, so you can really taste all the flavors—the dough, the crunch, the chocolate, and the cream. We also ordered the croissant and the cinnamon bun, which never disappoint! Definitely some of the best we’ve had in Amsterdam

It was the best croissant I've ever had. The plain and one with chocolate was very good. I haven't tried the others but they are also very good. And the coffee was very good. I would definitely recommend it.

I had an okay experience at Rise Bakery. The pastries looked good, but one was so flaky it broke and fell on the floor, while another I tried was too dry. I ordered the wheel croissant and found it way too sweet for my taste. It was a bit too much for me

I tried the cinnamon roll, spinach and feta pastry, pain au chocolat, kimchi croissant, and salted caramel cruffin. The cruffin was my absolute favorite, followed by the cinnamon roll. The cappuccino was excellent, and the prices were reasonable. This place truly deserves its high rating.

Nice bakery. I ordered a small sourdough, a pain au chocolate and ham/cheese croissant. I liked that they slice your bread for you (not all bakeries do this), which is appreciated. Everything was delicious. There are always lots of people, which is a good sign.

It’s small cute bakery behind Albert Cuypmarkt, but the variety is so huge, i went there this Sunday and it was a bit crowded, but i guess i was waiting just 7-8 minutes. Croissant is huge, fluffy, flavourful, special focaccia with mushrooms, olives and salsiccia was the best, highly recommended! I got sourdough baguette as well - it’s fresh and crispy, but it’s a bit too hard to chew

Well hellooooo Breadwinner. Okay, I’m sceptic when it comes to bagels 🥯 outside of the US. We have more bagel places in Amsterdam, but let’s call it what it is, those are just bagel shaped breads okay. I’ve been to all other Amsterdam bagel places once and never visited them again. Now Breadwinner, they surprised me bigly(!) You need to understand my reference when I talk bagels. So I am a fan of (top of mind) Bagelsaurus (MA), Broad Nosh (NY), Sunrise (ME) Tastewise Breadwinner comes close to a US bagel, I’d say they are 90% there. There’s a hint of that malty aroma that you need. Texture wise they are 95% there. It’s dense, and chewy. They also toast great, don’t burn, don’t lose their taste or texture. Yet there is something in there that I can’t put my finger on that is not completely bagel. I’m still trying to uncover what that is. That said, stellar bagel. Price wise a bit steep, €3,- is the price of half a bread. A bagel shouldn’t cost more than 2,- per piece. They don’t sell bakers dozens, you just have to buy them per piece. Never tried one of their bagel sandwiches, if I ever do, I’ll add a review. Want a good bagel? Go to these guys, you wont be disappointed, but bring your wallet. FYI not a sit down kind of place, just a few seats. It’s all made fresh, so there could be a wait. People friendly. Not accessible with wheelchair. English speakers. Go enjoy.

My dry sourdough bagel didn’t quite live up to the hype. I ordered the smoked lox and cream cheese (with added tomato and avocado), which looked amazing but needed more seasoning. The lox portion was generous and really tasty though! We arrived later in the afternoon, so I’d l give it another try in the morning when the bagels may be fresher. The staff were nice, and there are benches outside on a sweet street. Maybe worth a visit earlier in the day?

Delicious bagels, the first ones in Europe that I found to be comparable to the ones in New York. Very much recommend the pastrami and chutney bagels. Their everything seasoning was so good that I bought some immediately.

This is easily the best bagel place in Amsterdam, possibly in all of the Netherlands. The guy who owns it has always been friendly and the staff as well. Easily is a staple for me when I’m back in Amsterdam. Also the pastrami sandwich is (chef’s kiss) great!

I bought yesterday a box of 6 cinnamon roll, it looked delicious but unfortunately they all tasted the same. It's very very sweet, full of sugar in the roll and the icing. Even my young daughter that loves sweets couldn't finish half a cinnamon roll. Really disappointing.. 😔

So delicious! Couldn’t believe they were vegan! They are soft but not airy- which makes them so filling and delicious, unlike Cinnabon or American cinnamon rolls I’ve had, that just felt like you ate air a second after, which made it super unsatisfying even while eating, but not like that with these! Some flavors we loved more and some less, but definitely would come again. I loved the original one the best!!

Every now and then I get surprised by a vegan bakery. I've never had a good vegan cinnamon roll before. But leave it to the wonderful bakers at Have a Roll to change my mind. This was a great experience and I loved the rolls we had. The apple pie topping was so unique and delicious. I highly recommend you stop here if you're in Amsterdam and grab a delicious Cinnamon Roll!

Fantastic cinnamon buns, probably the best in Amsterdam out of all cinnamon rolls i tried. They made it fresh, and nothing can exceed the taste of freshly baked bun in a winter rainy day. Go with the original roll, it’s already so good, if you want something different, I would recommend pistachio or pecan mixed. Besides that i have to give them a credit for a really nice, welcoming service and excellent store design.

Super cosy spot in central Amsterdam without being too crowded in the streets surrounding. Clearly a popular spot since it was so crowded inside though! All of the cakes looked delicious (lots of vegan and gluten free options). We went for a savoury treat this time and the portions!! HUGE! Will definitely be back to try the sweets!

This beautiful little bakery makes the most amazing looking and tasting baked good! The owner and her team efficiently handle the store and it's many many walk in customers. And the food is truly heavenly! Every 10 minutes you can watch a new tray of delicious baked goods being taken across from the kitchen to the display window 🙂

A magical place! You’d need to spend a whole week in Amsterdam just to try everything here. The pistachio cream aragostine and the cinnamon buns are an absolute must! Thank you for such a cozy and atmospheric café.

The balcony view is dreamy and the environment and design are very beautiful. Warm and friendly. Excellent and friendly staff. Reasonable prices. Good quality. I will definitely go again and highly recommend it.

All their products are amazing. You can easily buy the products we tried. The soup of the day was eggplant soup. It may look a bit strange, but it tasted delicious. The service might be a bit slow, but we go there to be calm and relaxed. So it was a very nice experience for us.

AMAZING!! I’m so happy I found this place, we ended up coming back twice! This little place is small on the inside, but they do have an upstairs as well. The windows are lined with fresh pastries and baked goods. Delish!! They have a tiny patio with 3 tables that is right over the canal! Luckily we got to sit there and people watch, while enjoying our breakfast. Coffees were amazing. Baked goods, so fresh and delicious. We ended up eating some sandwich’s as well, tuna melt was excellent. The have homemade jams which we took some home with us! Overall this place was a perfect breakfast/lunch spot

I honestly can’t put into words what I tasted here, it completely blew me away. We ordered the dish with labneh and another with braised beef. Both were distinctive and incredibly delicious, with flavors so rich they truly move you as you eat. Perfectly seasoned, full of depth. The chef deserves a promotion. It’s definitely on the pricey side, but worth every single cent.

Our second time here, this time trying the salmon after having beef before – both were excellent! It’s a lovely spot for a couple sharing and exploring new dishes together. A bit on the pricey side, but perfect if you split one main and a dessert, like the Basque cheesecake we had for breakfast – such a treat. Had brunch today at Little Collins, and it was a long-time coming visit. You can’t book a table here, and it’s always quite popular, so it’s tough to get a spot. Luckily, we were in the area around 10 and found a table free, so we hopped right in. The vibe was super pleasant. Service was great. Nothing over the top, but friendly, kind, smiling staff and pretty quick too. We didn’t have to wait ages for anything. We ordered two cappuccinos, a fresh juice, and both of us had poached eggs with labneh, roasted tomatoes, and seeds. Absolutely delicious. The flavors were balanced and everything tasted just right. I spotted a few other dishes around: shakshuka, some French toast, and a kind of salmon eggs Benedict with hollandaise. Everything looked tasty, but I’m glad I picked what I did—it seems to be the popular choice for a reason. We spent about 49 euros in total, which felt reasonable. As a dessert lover, I did check out their sweets, and while they didn’t instantly call to me, maybe I was just too full to give them a fair shot. They might be great, but they just didn’t look like must-try items at first glance. Overall, good experience, nice food, friendly service, and worth a visit if you’re in the area.

We went here on a sunny weekday, and since it was busy, we had to wait a bit. There’s a QR code at the door where you can drop your name, see the waiting time, and go for a walk or grab a coffee nearby while you wait. Food-wise, it’s definitely a treat. The flavors are rich, the portion was enough for me but can see people be challenging it. It’s not your everyday brunch. Prices are on the higher side, but honestly quite standard for Amsterdam 🤷🏼‍♀️ The only downside was the service. Drinks and the check took a while, and the overall pace on the logistics side could be improved. Still, the taste really made up for it, and I’d say it’s worth visiting if you’re looking for a brunch spot that feels a bit more indulgent

Fabulous brunch place! Insanely delish food (corn fritters!), service leaves you alone to chat with your friends and doesn’t chase you away when you are done. Nice to sit outside protected from potential rain or sun.

The food was excellent, just as expected. However, the portion sizes were small for the price. Another downside is that the restaurant doesn’t take advance reservations - you have to scan a QR code and join a virtual queue upon arrival, which is quite inconvenient

The layout is quite unique with the bar in the centre, giving the place a special vibe. You can also buy their coffee beans here — a great touch for home brewing lovers.

One of my favorite coffee spots in the center of Amsterdam. Bocca is super cosy, with plenty of comfortable seating options, perfect for catching up with friends or just relaxing. I had a flat white, and it was just how I like it: strong and well-made. It had a slightly sour note, which isn’t quite my thing, but that’s definitely a personal preference. The barista was friendly, added a lovely latte art, and served it all with a smile. I’ve been coming here for a few years now and have also bought their beans for home brewing – always great quality. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a solid coffee stop with a chill vibe in the heart of Amsterdam.

We found Bocca via Google as it had high ratings in the area. Personally, I couldn’t see the hype for it. A huge, huge space for a coffee shop. It felt more like a university cafe. I had a hot chocolate and whilst they spend a good time and effort on your drinks, the hot chocolate was not that great. This was evidenced with all the big bits of chocolate at the bottom of my mug at the finish. A nice little stop to warm us up but not the most cosy and warm, especially with people leaving the door open every 10 seconds. Thank you for our experience. 💫

The staff inside were incredibly rude. We went in, got coffee, sat down, and only had five minutes of shut-eye, which can be verified by security cameras. We did nothing to disrupt public order. Despite this, the waiter came and told us with shouting to get up, "This is not a place to sleep." I've never experienced this kind of stench anywhere else in the world. Cafes are recommended everywhere.

The products are not best but they are fresh. Focaccias and pizzas were delicious but we didn’t like the cookies and cinnamon bun. The tables are very dirty I think no one cleans or wipes them. We struggled to sit at a table and eventually we cleaned our own table.

I had them for breakfast. Their bakeries are excellent. They have lots of vegetarian and cheese stuff, so it's good for halal too. They have tea, hot coffee, and iced coffee. The coffee wasn't great. I got a flat white, and the beans tasted old and bitter. They have a big indoor seating area. They always have a queue, but they are fast. The staff are friendly. I would recommend basil tomato toast, butter sandwich, and cheese sandwich.

Had a really nice breakfast at this wonderful bakery. Everything is fresh and baked on-site. The space is large, the service is friendly and efficient, and the pastries are excellent. The cinnamon bun was a bit dry and lacked a strong cinnamon flavor, but the pain au chocolat and pain aux raisins were absolutely delicious. The cappuccino and the espresso were also very good. I’d definitely recommend this place!

A great place for breakfast if you happen to be in the area. There's a huge variety of confections, most of which are great.. there's very decent coffee as well, so that is icing on the cake (pun intended!). You order the food and then take it to your table .. you have to go and pick up your coffee too which works fine.. the seating area is spacious and has the nouveau 'industrial vibe', which is cosy and welcoming. The freshly pressed orange juice is great as well... Recommended!

This is a little gem! We stopped as our eyes caught the glimpse of their window from a cross the street , it was pretty. The shop is small but very clean and presentable, there was a huge variety of fresh creamy cakes, biscuits and chocolates. We decided to get 4 cakes to go and the lady that served us was so kind and packed them so we could enjoy them while walking . This was a treat for our taste buds, so fresh and light, full of flavour. When we go back we will definitely pay another visit and try other treats. This is definitely a place that is worth coming back to and needs to be recommended.

A tightly packed space, all four walls filled with delicacies ranging from handmade Chocolates and Cakes to packaged Confections, staff takes an old-time approach to hospitality by greeting each guest with warm smiles before boxing each item carefully. Far more than Pancakes and Syrup Waffles, a Baba in thick Syrup as sweet as it is boozy, fans of Canele will find Holtkamp nearly as good as those in Bordeaux with a generous crunch giving way to mellow Cake with the texture of Custard. Also offering Macarons and Feuilletine, tempting but not enough to replace three Chocolates including one with Honeycomb, Dutch Tompoucen comes highly recommended thanks to all the elements of a Napoleon but more Pastry Cream.

Such a nice, tiny place. Many vegan options. We had chocolate cake and cheesecake, both vegan, and both made us seriously doubt whether they are really vegan because of the genuine taste! But that was indeed vegan and so delicious and beautifully presented, portions are really satisfying. Coffee was tasty, too, nice homely, imperfect vibe. Very refreshing. People there really take care of customers :)

Nice tiny place with lovely and kind owner. Lots of vegan options (be sure to ask, not everything is clearly stated as vegan on the menu, there are more options than showed). I tried a sandwich with tofu strips, lettuce, tomato and vegan cheese. And had the vegan carrot cake. My mother tried a sandwich with grilled vegetables and a vegan and gluten free orange cake. Everything was really nice and the cake was devine! Will definitely come back here!

My girlfriend is lactose intolerant, vegetarian & is on medication so she really has to be careful what she eats, & so many places insist they are vegan then aren't! This little cafe was absolutely brilliant. The staff were attentive, friendly, helpful & honest. The service was great & the food presentation & quality was of an exceptional standard! We really were impressed, they clearly take great pride in their establishment. The atmosphere was lovely too :) highly recommend it!

Do not eat at this place - they sell moldy food. I went to this place on Thursday 20.6.2019 and bought some pastries to take away for myself and some colleagues. All the pastries tasted stale and not fresh. However, the worst part was that one pastry had actual mold inside. You could not see it from the outside but the whole inside was already green and moldy. Fortunately my colleague only took one bite and hopefully won't get sick. After going back to the bakery the same day and confronting the staff, the waitress was shocked about what I told her. She said that management buys the pastries and she will inform them about it. I demanded to receive a confirmation about this and left my phone number. However, after three days I still did not hear from anybody. I paid 12€ for stale and moldy products and management is apparently not interested in fixing those issues. Do not eat here!

This is a hidden gem for someone who grew up in the city center of Amsterdam. Lovely local owners and good coffee / food. Very flexible and not uptight or like those fast boys and girls who take over the city center right now and take away it's soul and charm. This is still authentic and very much enjoyable!

I rarely ever write reviews but I felt compelled to do so in this case. I booked this hotel for a business trip and noted it was supposed to deliver an excellent experience. Stayed here 6-9 May 2025 Overall very disappointed and underwhelmed by the experience: the The good: Location is great, staff very friendly and professional. Rooms very clean. HOWEVER, 1. the room layout was terrible bordering dangerous. I stayed in room 11 which had two levels (bedroom upstairs, bathroom and entrance downstairs). The stairs in between were narrow and very very difficult to navigate, every time I went down the stairs I was concerned I might trip fall and injure myself so much so that every visit to the bathroom became an annoying arduous trip. 2. Upon checking in, I was asked to pay 2500 Euros despite having fully paid the room when I booked it, when I questioned this the staff said it was an ‘error’ and I only needed to pay city taxes and leave a deposit of 200 euros per night, totalling 750Euro, a pretty big difference compared to the 2500 Euros I was asked for. 3. Breakfast was very underwhelming 4. There was no lift access to my room. While the staff were kind enough to carry my luggage up to the room, I had to carry my stuff down the stairs when I was checking out and I really felt uncomfortable and worried about the risk of falling and injuring myself I was never informed about the room layout nor given the choice prior to checking in. I am returning to Amsterdam in 3 months however I would never ever again stay in this hotel.

We had our wedding at The Dylan, and it truly became the most memorable day of our lives. Our guests couldn’t stop complimenting the food, and Elise, our planner, was wonderful — attentive to every little detail that made our big day perfect. The ceremony timing was seamless, and the venue itself was exactly what we envisioned: timeless and classic. We also stayed at the hotel, and the service was just lovely — warm, thoughtful, and personalized. Wouold highly recommend any newlyweds to choose The Dylan for their special day!

Great walkable location, top notch service from everyone we encountered. Charming rooms (we had the lowest tier option and it was still great), the daily breakfast is outstanding… the soft scramble of my dreams! Renting bikes was easy and fun, helpful and friendly staff. Loved it!

We loved this hotel. From the moment we arrived (literally, out on the street in front of the building), the service was 5 star. After our overnight flight, they grabbed our bags and welcomed us with a cup of herbal tea and a fresh, warm muffin. One of the concierges, Ronald, came right over and introduced himself, and asked if we had plans while we were in Amsterdam. When we said no, he asked what sort of things we like to do, and then suggested and then arranged several excellent tours (one walking, one by canal boat). He advised us on museums and nice walks. He asked what kind of food we like, and booked us several excellent dinners, and made sure we had an umbrella when rain was in the forecast. He single handedly made our trip better. Meanwhile, the rest of the hotel staff answered "of course" to anything and everything we asked for. The rooms are luxurious and modern, with thoughtful touches and very comfortable beds. The location is perfect, within an easy walk of everything. The hotel is located at the edge of the Nine Streets boutique district and the city center, right on a canal. We got dropped off at the hotel, and didn't have to get in a car again until we left three days later. Inside the hotel, there are several nice spaces to hang out. There's a living-room like salon with a fireplace, a comfortable bar/cafe, and a couple of outdoor patios (one out front, one in a courtyard) for nice weather. The place is small enough to feel cozy, but the service is really extraordinary. The employees deserve a lot of praise, as does whoever trained the staff and set the standards here. We have already recommended the Dylan to friends, and will absolutely stay there again.

I accidentally stumbled across this lovely little shop on holiday over the weekend. Unbelievable empanadas 👌 quality and flavour was absolutely incredible. The staff in the shop were very friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely be back if I ever visit Amsterdam again. 5 star ps. The cake was great too

Amazing bakery, so different from what you usually find in Amsterdam. Handcrafted cookies, pastries and croissants. Coffee is great too! I saw as well the sell hand made ice cream and sorbets. Delicious sweets in stylish atmosphere!

Very nice! Had 2 empanadas (spicy meat and cheeseburger) and they were both very tasty. Tender but crunchy crust and very juicy filling that was perfectly seasoned. Had the classic alfajor too and that was very nice as well. Generous amount of filling and nice play of textures.

The best alfajores and medialunas outside Argentina. I ordered twice form this place. In the beginning the price was preventing me from buying, however I can tell that the quality is impressive. You bet I will order once a month :) As a suggestion I would recommend a small gift box with 4 alfajores with a note

I ordered flat white but it was more like cappuccino with one shot of coffee , tables are so dirty and when we were there to order the blonde girl was sitting there and working with her phone and drinking instead of taking our order or cleaning the tables…. not recommended at all

please look into how to make matcha 🙏 you have to really mix it first in a bit of hot water with a bamboo thing in a “W-motion” until it’s all bubbles and then add the milk. and it would be responsible to keep plantbased milk as the default 🫶

Friendly staff and cozy atmosphere inside. Tiny but it’s enough room to enjoy a coffee, lunch or snack. They have good specials - the one they had when I was there: two 4 piece California rolls for €6 total. The rolls and other food looked fresh, and there was a nice variety to choose from. They also had delicious desserts, sandwiches, salads and poke type bowls. Lots of to-go sushi that looked decent. They also sell bottles of wine and champagne as well as sake. The only negative: the tables were a bit messy and needed to be wiped down. They did collect dishes, but didn’t wipe off the tables. There was consistent foot traffic in & out and only two employees, so I understand but it looked like the tables had been negligent for a while. Otherwise, it’s a nice place! I will be back!

Great place to go for nice (take away) beers, alcohol free sodas with rose, ginger, elderflower flavour (and more), cookies, chocolate, chips, breakfast, and so much more. I can recommend this shop to every foodie and unusual taste lover. Friendly service to, but be aware, not really atmospheric to sit, so have your goodies home, or even better, in the park.

Amazing baked food ... awesome cookies, cakes, brownies and more. This place is perfect for a snack or meal. The coffee is great. The staff are nice and friendly, and are more than happy to assist you through the menu.

If you do not have any options left and you’re just desperate to take a quick bite, this will be a relatively good spot. The crispy avocado sandwich was a disappointment. It was 7.95€ and there was barely any avocado. The flat white was 4.40€ which was rather underwhelming. I’ll highly suggest for you to walk another 100m to Uncommon Cafe which has legit coffee and matcha and vegetarian food.

It is always a pleasure to visit De Drie Graefjes. The service is constantly great and there is a tempting selection of cakes on display. Their red velvet and mash-up cake are really tasty and firm favorites of mine. The generous slices of cake are a real bonus and make it feel well worth the price.

I had a lovely experience at De Drie Graefjes. I stopped in for a drink and a slice of red velvet cake and it was wonderful. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and attentive. I felt comfortable right away. It really felt like a little oasis in the middle of the busy city. The cake slices are large and incredibly delicious and the coffee is strong and well-made. I even took a slice home because it was so good! There are plenty of cozy seating areas upstairs and the free Wi-Fi makes it an easy place to relax for a while. A very charming café. I’ll definitely come back.

I usually come here for the cakes, but this time I decided to try something different and have a meal instead. Unfortunately, it was quite a letdown. I ordered the avocado toast – something I often enjoy elsewhere – but what I got was literally just dry toast with a blob of avocado slapped on top. No seasoning, no flair, just… bland. Tried to save it with some salt & peper, but no. It came with some uninspired nacho chips on the side as well, which didn’t help much either. I ended up sending it back. Apparently, you can add extra toppings (for an extra charge), but honestly, the basic version should still be decent enough to serve. There were a few other small things too, but I think this review is already long enough. Next time, I’ll happily stick to the cakes

Great overall experience here at “The Three Graefjes” at the Rokin. The crew is friendly, welcoming and proactive. I was here on a Tuesday afternoon around 2PM and it was not busy at that time. The interior feels modern, with a vintage vibe. It’s clean and tidy. I wanted to try their red velvet cake, and I have to say… it was definitely tasty, not too moist, not too dry and most importantly not overly sweet! Make sure to leave some room, because the cake itself is quite heavy! If you order a drink, I recommend to order it without a lot of sugar added to it. Since the cake itself is sweet enough. Definitely recommended to try some of their delicious cakes!

Love the croissants here! All gluten free so we got a few to try. The ham and cheese is delicious, very smokey meat which we loved. The original is lovely. We also got the almond which was a bit too sweet for our taste. Also tried the stroopwaffle but wasn't keen. Would love to try the bread rolls as they look very yummy. Busy and small so we got it to take away and went to the park. It was already very busy by 10.30am.

Absolutely delicious! This is one of the best croissants I have ever had (even before the celiac diagnosis). Prices are very reasonable and everything I had was incredible— highly recommended the ham and cheese croissant but you really can’t go wrong. Everything being gluten free is a dream come true! Gluten free croissants are near impossible to find, so happy this exists! Totally worth the trip over here if you are in Amsterdam and are celiac!

This was the best croissant I have ever eaten! And I couldn’t believe it was gluten free! When I took my first bite of the croissant, it was so good that I had to immediately go back inside to double check that it was actually gluten free and then buy a second croissant! I would love to know how they manage to make it so light and delicious! Even my gluten-eating family said it was one of the best croissants they had ever eaten and we had just come from Paris.

We came across this bakery by chance and had to wait about 20 minutes to get in the shop to place an order. There were three ladies working in the bakery at time we visited they did work hard, our coffee was served pretty quickly as well as the delicious food we ordered. Bakery products were fantastic and coffee was tasty too. There are very limited seating available if you'd like to have food & the drink on premises. The day we were there, June 5th happened to be Cafe's birthday they were offering some modest discount on the purchases. Nice food, recommended.

Very please we discovered this bakery for our breakfast. It is located close to the old bridge and the waterfront in this village. They have indoor seatings as well as an outdoor terras. Our coffee was delicious as well as their croissants and pastries. This bakery goes back to various generations, and on the wall, the history is outlined.

Very welcoming, delicious, friendly bakery in the far "suburbs" of Amsterdam in the Ouderkerk area. During the "Covid-times" this place is fortunately open since it is food related. This is a charming little village outside of Amstelveen outside of Amsterdam. Delicious pastries, coffee, and other deserts. So lekker! I can only imagine (as a fantasy) how awesome this place would be with no restrictions. It is on a beautiful canal and the Amstel. The downside is there is no bike parking out front, but on the plus side, a historic cemetery across the street. You can't park your bike against that fence, but people still do. Certainly worth a visit when in the area...no competition - but they deliver with a smile and a great value!

Highly recommend. I've been here more than once and tried several dishes - the food was always fresh, flavorful and beautifully crafted. You can really tell there's attention to details in every plate. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming which makes the experience even better. I'll definitely come back again.

The breakfast was absolutely delicious! I tried the shakshuka, and it was amazing — adding the spicy sauce gave it a perfect extra flavor. We also tried the flan cake, which was delightful as well. The coffee was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. I highly recommend visiting this place!

Absolutely amazing sourdough, the texture is divine! Very stretchy, soft, and satisfyingly chewy. Highly recommend the za'atar spiced loaf- perfectly balanced between the delicious spice mix without overpowering the subtly flavour of the bread itself, combined with the nuttiness of the sesame seed topping that gives a rich tahini/peanut butter nuttiness :)

Great spot, it’s a bakery and resto. They have great breakfast and lunch options. Since they bake their own breads, croissants, etc they are delicious. We went twice in 3 days. Staff is nice and it can get “busier” but we never had to wait longer than a few minutes for a table.

The food is amazing, no matter what you order they really know how to prepared each dish in a way that you can imagine. You can sit or take away, but if you have the time and there is no line, sit and enjoy this amazing place. If you don’t like spicy, asked for the brioche without kimchi and the mayo in a side, you won’t regret!!!

Good location, good seating, which is rare in the area. The bread was good would’ve loved it if they had some toasted options. The buratta one was very refreshing and light. I was very exited for the chicken but the flavor was a little monotone. It was mainly bbq sauce but not really captivating. The cabbage didn’t really add something. Maybe some pickles would be better idk. Also tried the matcha cookie from the bakery sadly that one was dissapointing. Weird texture and not the cookie u would have in mind. But the place has good options and its clear they put a lot of effort. If they would make some tiny adjustments it would be perfect!

I orders two pastries, they were quite okay, the strawberry, was a bit burned, but crispiness was still there. Anyways I liked the matcha, it has a very strong taste. But besides that I didn’t like the vibe of the people who were working there. They looked quite cold and it felt genuinely a bit awkward.

The place is very nice and cosy, the pastries are delicious . The only thing that I personally found disappointing is that the pistachio croissant cubes lack the pistachio taste in the cream

Really nice aesthetic place, coffee was good, however the pastries that we tried were not the best. Our order: pistacchio bun, cheesecake and flat white coffee. Price: 15.8€ The pistacchio bun had a vivid taste of yeast and you could feel that the dough wasn’t grown enough. The cheesecake was not fresh.

Visited here yesterday and really enjoyed their range of baked goods. I didn’t really like the pistachio cookie as it was just pistachio on top rather than a filling inside the cookie but did enjoy the cinnamon sugar donut, which was similar to a sweet pretzel or like a churro as a donut. It was a comfortable and cosy experience and really liked their matcha as well, it had a good balance of umami and slight tinge of sweet and in general would recommend this place to people to come and check it out.

Very cute atmosphere with warm, friendly staff! The cakes, cookies, pastries, and especially the brownie are to die for! The brownie was super good, not dry and wonderfully chocolaty. The espresso macchiato did not disappoint either. The space is a bit small, so seating can be limited, but the cozy, home-like interior design makes it a delightful spot to relax.

I love this place. Highly recommend to visit. Cozy Interior design upstairs for customers to sit down to enjoy the drinks and cakes. Cinnamons donut, carrot cake , lemon cake and chai latte for dine in. Pistachio soft ice cream is vegan, wooow super good. Also bought peanut butter dates and chocolate cookie take away.

Anook looks great but leans a bit too hipster. The upstairs area with the beach lounge chairs could be swapped for a couple more proper tables. The vibe feels more Californian than Amsterdam, though it's nicely done. Pastries are really good, just a touch too sweet. All in all, a positive experience.

Good bakery with good quality food and original options. Prices are lower compared to Amsterdam bakeries (especially in the city center). Staff was kind and friendly! The atmosphere is that of a typical bakery, with little space inside but it’s okay! I recommend having something to eat and then go for a walk in Amsterdamse Bos, just a few meters behind the place!

We bought 2 tartatelle, one with strawberries and one with lime, and they were really good (though not exceptional). However, we also bought some bread, and I have the feeling it has been frozen and defrosted that same morning, making it a bit chewy and cold on the inside.

Maybe because they call themselves a French bakery, I expect the pastries and bread to be as nice as in France but unfortunately they are not that good. The thing I liked the most was sesame baguette.

Cute small bakery, i was a bit upset because I went there around 13:30 and most of the items were gone. But i bought sourdough baguette and croissant, both are nice. Will try to visit earlier next time hopefully they will offer more .

We came to buy some pastries. It was busy, so we had to wait. No problem. Some of the staff passed down the counter, but none said something. Then, after a couple of minutes, finally one said hi and asked us to wait. Couple of minutes later a girl showed up to take our order. Not a greeting of anything. Only an annoyed sounding "ja...". I asked her the flavours of the pastries. She answered briefly. My bf ordered what he want and than I did. We payed and she only packed my order. See picture... she simply took it and threw it in the paper bag. Next time one of the other shops around, with the same quality of pastries, better price, way nicer staff, and decent packing of the pastries.

The best almond croissant in Amsterdam! It has more than enough, rich filling in a warm, crunchy croissant. Their sourdough bread is also very authentic, and made 100% of sourdough starter. It was still fresh after a couple of days. The interior is very simple, you could also follow the baking the process. They have outside benches to enjoy your pastries under the sun. ☀️ staff is also very kind and helpful, I can highly recommend this bakery, even if it is not located in the city center, totally worth to try it.

Croissants were perfectly flaky and buttery and the coffee was excellent as well. Atmosphere is welcoming and the staff is friendly. A great place to enjoy a quiet moment. We are looking forward to future visits and trying more pastries.

One of my top bakeries in Amsterdam. The bread, the feuilleté, and the flavors are just perfect. The savory tomato danish was delicious, and Ulmus serving good coffee along with the viennoiseries is such a good bonus. Really cute ceramics and atmosphere as well!

Delicious pastries, but service was disappointing. My friend’s coffee took 30 minutes to arrive so we had to drink without her. Staff were chatting with friends, ignored us, and were rather rude. They refused loyalty stamps for all 3 coffees, one stamp per order apparently. Which is the first time I’ve heard that, and I collect loyalty cards all over the Netherlands. Tables weren’t cleaned and there were crumbs everywhere. Tasty, but I won’t be back, plenty of other bakeries around.

Very good cookie spot! Has a line but it goes quickly. I got the brownie pistachio with white chocolate and the chocolate chip with caramel sea salt. It was only ~€7 for two and they were quite filling.

The cookie shop is quite small, but you really just go in and out anyway. As soon as you walk in, you’re surrounded by the most amazing cookie smell. We bought two of each flavor, and I’d definitely get them again whenever I’m in Amsterdam – the cookies were absolutely delicious!

I visited Le Pain Quotidien in Stadshart Amstelveen for lunch with my mother. From the moment we sat down, the service was disappointing. Our server, a white woman, took our order but roughly tossed our cutlery onto the table. At first I brushed it off, until I noticed her gently and cheerfully setting silverware for other guests. I ordered the protein pancake and started eating. About halfway through, I discovered a short, light red hair baked into the batter. My own hair is long and black. When I politely pointed this out, the server’s response was shocking. Instead of apologizing, she snapped that I’d nearly finished the dish and implied it was my fault for not noticing sooner. She rolled her eyes, looked visibly annoyed, and maintained a cold, dismissive tone all the way through payment. My mother and I left feeling insulted rather than cared for. It’s upsetting to be made to feel responsible for the restaurant’s mistake, especially when we came simply to enjoy a pleasant lunch.

If you’re thinking about grabbing a coffee here, do yourself a favor and keep walking. I ordered a cappuccino and honestly, I’m not sure what I got. It was watery, super bitter, and tasted like caffeinated dishwater. The place itself is a mess—tissues and random trash all over the floor. It felt like the staff hadn’t cleaned up in days. And if you’re not a fan of birds, beware: there were pigeons everywhere, just wandering around like they owned the place. One even flew right past my head while I was drinking. Honestly, if you’re looking for a good cafe, this is not it. But if you want to see pigeons up close and personal, this place could probably be rated higher as a zoo than a coffee shop.

I paid almost €20 for just bread and smashed avocado on it. In addition to that I paid almost €3 for soft boiled egg. The egg was crazy hot to clean the cover. No space to put the cover.

Had a last minute stopover in this cafe, the only cafe open on Eerste Passdag after the visit to Kersenbloesenpark. Tarts, cakes and coffee are surprisingly good, quite similar to Paris patisserie. we had flat white and gwoone coffee which was refreshing. Service is excellent with bilingual speaking waitresses in English and Dutch. All the cakes and tarts are worth to try… check it out ! 😀☝️

Sunday morning breakfast - Over-priced and plain. I had scrambled eggs & bacon. Rock hard dry bacon, that seemed to have been prepared hours before. Scrambled eggs that were tasteless without a hint of garnish. The meal was like a military dish. The menu in general is overpriced compared to the norm. The sour dough was good & the serving staff were nice. I wouldn't recommend it & won't be back.

A great place for a quick breakfast as well as for lunch. I've been here to get a quick breakfast snack before a haircut across the street, and the coffee and chocolate croissant was delicious. There's also seating outside which is an added bonus when the weather is nice. The restaurant is clean, comfortable and seating is comfortable and you feel very cosy in here. The staff are really friendly and really efficient. There's also takeaway if you like or are in a hurry.

I don't understand how people think this is a cozy place, it's not! It's inhospitable without a character, very unwelcoming. The chairs are very uncomfortable, it's like asking you to leave asap. The only thing they welcome you to do is to give them the tip 😆 The coffee was ok but the slice of cake was horribly dry and I had to throw it away. They keep the cakes outside in this small window. There is no service, you even have to put your dirty cup inside the buckets.

Had such a lovely experience during my visit to Amsterdam while I was traveling from the US. The coffee is delicious! I think it was one of the best flat whites I have ever had. To make things ever better, the baristas were so friendly and patiently explained everything. I went in twice because I enjoyed it so much. The coffee literally tastes like cherries! When I went in- they had different espresso offerings for each day so it was so fun to compare the two flat whites I had. I also got their loaves while I was there. Very moist and delicate. This is probably a coffee shop I will miss dearly

Got an iced hojicha on the last day they do iced drinks (27 September). It was good and my first time trying hojicha (tastes like matcha a red bean). But after that date they only do hot which is quite disappointing. The vegan loaves are good. They have a lot of coffee selection as well but no seating and set up of cafe is quite weird but staff is extremely kind.

We loved this place! I had the white chocolate matcha and my partner had a cappuccino, both were amazing. What really stood out was the atmosphere; it felt like we were part of the café rather than just visitors. The space is completely open with no separation between the staff area and where customers sit, it’s like you’re behind the counter with them. That setup, combined with the friendly team and the cool, laid-back vibe, makes it such a special spot. Definitely one of our favorite coffee stops in Amsterdam!

Rum baba is my neighbourhood coffee shop. I really enjoy this place for a quick to go coffee, they make fantastic flat whites, and they really know their coffee. There is very limited seating, so I have never sat inside and there is other places on the street that provide better and more affordable pasteries so I really see this as a take away coffee spot with some of the best coffee in the city. I have however had mixed results with their beans, I bought a bag of one of their diamond blends and it tasted very chemically flavoured, I couldn't explain it but it was very expensive and I had to throw away most the bag even after serving my friends some. It smelt very strong of almost candy I am not sure what it was. But all of their yellow bag espresso beans are fantastic.

This place really cares about their coffee. Extremely high quality espresso, own roasted beans. Reccomend trying a few different beans and taking some home. This is NOT a brunch restaurant masquerading as a coffee shop, it is somewhere you come for something properly special.

Phenomenal bakery, stuff is being baked fresh repeatedly during the day so the aroma inside is always pleasant. I usually get the cinnamon rolls or sandwiches around lunch time.

My go to in Amsterdam, and for a good reason! The cinnamon brioche is my guilty pleasure alongside their coffee which is good and consistent. I love the fact that everything is sourdough, so naturally their bread is also divine! Always a joy to sit in if you are lucky enough to snag a seat 🤎☕️

I have to say everything is very good, except for the cinnamon and cardamon rolls ( dry and tasteless). But I'm giving 5 stars because the bread, baguette, gallettes, cheesecake, sandwiches, salami, eggs are sooo good! 😍 The bread + baguette have a good crunchy crust + soft inside. Hard to find something like this in Amsterdam. Good coffee too.

Delicious fresh baked bread, focaccia and other breads. Only a few choices but the specialties are very good. A very clean and modern place with a few tables to sit and enjoy, also offering coffee to sit in or take away, and bottles of wine to buy. Get there early as the bread sells out quickly! Especially on Saturday mornings.

This is my favourite place for sour sourdough bread and foccacia. What makes it special is that the dough tastes actually sour and it’s the most delicious. This makes me want to be a regular.

Used to enjoy this place a lot but recent experiences been poor. Staff can barely greet you and just points at the bar where you can sit in a corner with no service. Food is boring, something you can make at home, and overpriced. Also the plate was full of oily fingerprints. Interior is nice but for food and matcha, Amsterdam got wayyy better places.

I’m not really a brunch type of person but this place was incredible. Atmosphere is chill, modern and cozy. Staff were very friendly, and service was good. The food was fantastic, we ordered the scrambled eggs on toast, which were top tier (fluffy and creamy) and shared the asparagus (amazing) and a rhubarb crepe (also amazing). Could be considered pricey but you’re paying for high quality ingredients and fresh produce. Highly recommend.

We really loved scrambled egg with miso I am Korean and unfortunately I couldn't find anything special about the dish of the week which was cold noodle with kimchi this week But in general we really fell in love with this cafe. Also interior design is great! Highly recommend

I recently had the pleasure of having lunch at this amazing spot, and I have to say, I absolutely loved it. The flavours and combinations were absolutely amazing, and I was blown away by the quality of the food. One thing that really stood out to me about this restaurant was the simplicity of the menu. They only offer four options for breakfast and three for lunch, which is a refreshing change from the overwhelming menus that you often see at other restaurants. I was also thrilled to learn that the menu changes every month, so there's always something new and exciting to try. But what really stole the show for me was the tea. It's clear that tea is their specialty, and I can't recommend their matcha latte enough. It was so good that I went back for a second one! In addition to the amazing food and drinks, the atmosphere of the restaurant was also really nice. It had a modern vibe with a Japanese touch, and I felt right at home as soon as I walked in the door. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves good food and a great atmosphere. You won't be disappointed!

The most flavorful food I ever ate in Amsterdam. While the friendly staff, hip interior design that is very unique and elegant were highlights already, hands down the reason you must check out Oficina is the food. I only experienced 2 dishes from one of the editions of their menu but they were out of this world. Restaurant in the Netherlands tend to be very tame in flavor but the cooks at Oficina didn’t hold back. The dishes were not spicy, just packed full of flavor. Spices and combinations of ingredients that made the dishes a whole experience. The only reason I didn’t order more is because the portion was very generous and made me full. You have to check out Oficina, my new favorite in Amsterdam, and if you like Matcha tea, theirs is amazing too!

Very cute bar restaurant in De Baarjes. The service was very attentive and the food great. One of the owners is from the Basque Country in Spain so they have good basque wines within their menu. Also their dish menu changes every now and then so you won’t get bored of it. Perfect for a date or just a nice relaxing coffee on a weekday. Will definitely come back and try other things. Heads up!

The location is minimal and modern. The food offer (vegetarian) is very original and you can see there is a research behind, even though from the very enthusiastic reviews we were expecting that something more that unfortunately was missing. Service is not so careful and prices are quite high even for Amsterdam. Recommended? N/Y

This is already my second visit, and I can confidently say they serve the best coffee in the area. The coffee is always smooth, delicious, and truly a treat for the soul! The desserts are wonderful too — I’ve tried the banana bread and almond croissant, and my son really enjoyed the chocolate croissant. A huge thank you to the friendly staff who create such a warm and cozy atmosphere and make this incredible coffee. Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

A fantastic breakfast experience next to Amsterdam-Zuid train station. Enjoyable casual atmosphere, staff was incredibly friendly and we enioyed a customized order of avacado toast, banana bread and almond croissant. They also made me a special dark hot chocolate with espresso shot added (like a mocha) which was recommended by the waitress. If you find yourself in the Zuid area you owe it yourself to stop by!

Ordered yoghurt bowl, and on the picture you can see - it came with a rotten banana. When I asked the waiter to have a look, he didn’t see anything wrong, so I had to ask to replace it. Then, they brought it with just more apple instead.. we had to wait so long to get served too, although it was Friday afternoon and empty. The only positive was the waitress from Oceania, very sweet and nice.

The cafe is clean and bright and they have nice croissants. “downtown croissant” is quite special and I like it. Maple syrup makes it a bit too sweet tho. A lot of spaces and tables which are nice. It feels not very lively and lacks of welcoming feeling, more like a business area.

Quite rude server and waiters. They seem to only offer discounts via keep cup when it suits them. Have gone for months with sometimes a discount offerred and others not, dependent on who is serving. When asking about the discount they say (oh only when its above X euro do we offer it). their own menu states you ALWAYS get a discount... i will stop going to this location and happily pay more now at the BLACK brewer down the street after this

We had great cappuccino and latte. Banana cake was somewhat not our taste but the waiter was kind to exchange with an apple pie. It was professional and friendly manner. We appreciate it so much.

I cannot recommend Majesteit Taart enough – this place is pure magic. My niece’s 2nd birthday almost turned into a disaster when we had no cake due to personal circumstances. I was stressed and running all over Amsterdam, until I stumbled upon Majesteit Taart. Honestly, it felt like fate. Even though it was completely last-minute, the owner welcomed me with kindness and confidence. Within just 4 hours she created the most beautiful cake in the Two Sweet theme – and it didn’t just look stunning, it tasted absolutely divine. Sweet, yet light and refreshing – far better than I ever expected. She didn’t just bake a cake, she saved the day and created a memory my family will never forget. From now on, this is the only place I’ll order cakes for birthdays and special occasions (next time I will make sure to order in advance via the website or by phone). If you are in Amsterdam and looking for a unique, delicious and beautifully crafted cake with outstanding service, you absolutely need to visit Majesteit Taart.

Wish I took better pictures but there wasn’t much time - it was all just too yummy! Love Majesteit Taart, it’s a cute little place that’s perfect for an afternoon tea and a chat with a friend. They also have beautiful high teas and other arrangements, so I’ll definitely go back to try those soon. Gaby and her team are genuine and sweet, which makes the experience wholesome. I also love to watch the live decorating of cakes by the pastry chef, very soothing. There’s vegan options as well :) can only recommend.

I’ve ordered a cake for my daughter’s birthday. The cake came with a total different colour from the picture in the website (off white vs turquoise). I’ve called to complain, and after a lot of pushback they accepted to do something about it. But the proposed solutions was merely to try to make the color lighter. We had no time for this and no confidence that it would get any better. Taste was plain, nothing special. Very disappointing experience.

Yesterday, I stumbled upon this hidden gem of a cake shop and was immediately impressed by the friendliness of the staff. Despite it being a last-minute Sunday at lunchtime, the shop lady greeted me with a warm smile and a sprinkle of humor. When I noticed there weren't many products left, she kindly offered to whip up a lemon curd cheesecake on the spot! She made it in few minutes and it was really delicious. The vibes here are simply immaculate. Very elegant & peaceful seating by the garden (none outside though). 90% of delicacies are vegan/gluten-free, and they all taste more delicious than the next. This lovely cafe has a wide selection of gluten and dairy free cakes. They come in a varying of styles,, tastes and sizes. There is an amazing selection from fruity to chocolatey and nutty cakes are available - we enjoyed the lemon and coconut cheese cake and the Mocha and Hazelnut ones, but they all looked amazing! The hazelnut chocolate nougat as a little extra with our coffee was a lovely extra. Recommendation for a small coffee break during a city stroll in Amsterdam.

Fantastic Croissants and Madeleines! I was there early on a Saturday morning, croissant came fresh out of the oven, what a great smell the whole place has. They were crunchy on the outside and buttery and soft on the inside, really good! The Madeleine: soft and tasty, you could taste the walnuts they used. The cappuccino I had was tasty too! The open kitchen/baking space looks really cool, the staff is very kind and welcoming. It’s a shame that there is only little space to sit down inside and a small bench on the outside. The location at the Dappermarkt is very lively, so you can grab something to go. The bread looked very tasty too, will try it surely next time.

The sourdough is probably the best I have had in Amsterdam and so I come by once a week to grab a large bread. I higly recommend it! I have not yet tried the pastries though but they also look delicious.

I’ve yet to try their bread — which looks absolutely brilliant — but the pastries are top-notch, and the coffee is just as good. It’s a tiny spot, so best to plan for takeaway. Luckily, Oosterpark is just round the corner!

I love this place! Their coffee and matcha tastes great and they have so many amazing pastries. My favorites are the banana cake with chocolate, cinnamon bun/muffin and the chocolate chip cookie :) Some of the pastries were dairy free and one was gluten free. Maybe they could add some more options like this.. They offer as well a variety of (vegan) milks. Luckily as well the coconut milk from Rude Health, without any gums, artificial vitamins or seed oils. I would recommend actually only getting vegan milks from a brand like that and not from Alpro (they can be very irritating to the gut). The aesthetics are lovely and very calming to the mind. They have a shelf with a lot of books with topics like interior design and cooking, that you can grab to read while you enjoy your drink and snack. The service is as well overal nice and fast :)

I had the best chocolate cookie of my life here! The cafe is so cute and there are lots of places to sit and have a chat, read a book or just take in your coffee and delicious pastries. The entire staff is so friendly and the coffee is amazing. Definitely try the chocolate cookie here! You will want to come back every day you’re in Amsterdam :)

As a coffee lover I appreciate good variety of high quality of coffee beans and drinks. However I felt like in this place they try too hard to have certain formal atmosphere that I didn’t enjoy. If you’re looking for a place where you feel comfortable, having a long conversation, work a bit (laptops are not allowed) then this might not be your place. For me specialty coffee can be cozy and welcoming too. Staff was also very serious and a bit rude. Not the cafe I would come back to every weekend.

I give 4 stars mainly because of the incredible minimalistic nice design that is super cozy, timeless and well thought out. One that I barely see so perfectly done. The coffee was alright. I wouldn’t order it again. We got a cappuccino with oat milk and it wasn’t the cheapest given the location

Absolutely perfect baguettes, I’ve never found one I’ve loved this much! Really perfect for grabbing something small and either enjoying it there in the garden or taking away to picnic nearby. Loved the cheese sandwich and definitely would recommend the olive baguette.

Consistently excellent sourdough breads and sweet and savoury bites with no concessions in the quality. Cordial, relaxed and thoughtful service. The batard and the olive bread are favourites, the house butter 5*, variety of ferments and jams. Very good bread flour. Go early on Saturday, they sell out ☺️

I recently started to try some of the bread options here and I have a couple of comments - they expect you to buy the whole bread where other bakeries you can have half or even quarter when the size is too big. Can you just simply cut in two and sell? - the olive baguette was very salty I mentioned when I was buying bread another time but received no reaction I hope they can improve the above items, as I am fond of trying good places selling sourdough bread.

My wife's mother birthday wow 97 year old! So we buy a fantastic cake at Arnold Cornelis never any quality issues in the past alway great.
