Bakery
Deli
Italian grocery store
Nestled in the charming corner of Sierra Nevada Street, Genova Bakery is a delightful old-world Italian deli that has captured the hearts of locals since its establishment in 2018. This family-owned gem specializes in crafting made-to-order sandwiches and artisanal breads, ensuring each bite is a taste of tradition. With an array of customizable options featuring meats like ham, turkey, salami, and pastrami, there's something to satisfy every palate.
I’ve been meaning to write a review for this place but everytime I want to take a photo the sandwich is already gone. I hated bread, pasta, gnocchi, and red meat sauce before visiting here but I love it now. The sandwiches are very affordable, $10.00 for one meat and $10.50 for double. I started off ordering extra meat for all my sandwiches but stopped because the meat is topped on so generously already you won’t be able to find a place that does it like Genova’s. (The sandwich pic I posted is extra meat, still have no photo of the normal sandwiches bc I eat them instantly and forget) I love the coppa and prosciutto on ciabatta, pastrami and roast beef, the havarti cheese, whatever combo you can think of on bread it’s gonna be great. The ingredients are all high quality, neither the bread, pasta, or gnocchi will make your stomach feel heavy. If you’re a pasta hater like me but want to be convinced otherwise get the truffle gnocchi and the meat sauce in the freezer. The meat sauce they sell is not like Ragu or even Rao’s it’s a red tomato based sauce but it’s not acidic. It doesn’t have watery filler tomato sauce in it, it’s perfect. I cook it for less than a minute then toss cooked gnocchi in there. You don’t even need to drown it in sauce. It has great spice, full of flavor, and it doesn’t overpower the truffle in the gnocchi. You will still be able to taste it. They are super pillowy too. My friends love the packaged cookies, lots of oils and vinegars you can buy here, as well as the same Italian candy I saw being sold at “Eataly” in San Jose except the prices here are much more reasonable. I love buying the ciabatta bread to make my own sandwiches at home too. I hate crusty breads, I’ve always preferred soft milk bread but the ciabatta is the perfect for me because it doesn’t taste overly yeasty or sugary like normal bread does. It’s very filling too. From Tracy to the Bay you literally cannot find another place that sells ciabatta rolls. In Berkeley there’s a bakery that sells the big crusty ciabatta bread but Genova still beats it because it’s cheaper. Everything sold here must be vetted because it’s just so exceptional. The only thing I don’t like is the basil pasta salad it’s just not my taste. Lastly all the staff have great attitudes. Service is quick, and this place opens super early. I don’t feel judged either for wearing the same set of clothes every-time I come here, not that anyone cares I always wash them but even my mom judges me for doing it 🤣
Anoni M — Google review
Decades ago they used to deliver hot milk bread to my porch twice a week. I actually had a wooden bread box on a tree that said Genova Bakery but it was too old to put the bread in. The taste is as good as ever. You won’t fine better bread anywhere. Best sandwiches around but get it on the mild bread roll you won’t be disappointed.
Linda H — Google review
Best made-to-order Italian Deli Sandwich Shop in Stockton, hands down!!! Love love this place!!!! So delicious!! Staff is always attentive, friendly, and helpful! Genova offers awesome selections of freshly baked breads, soft drinks and confections daily!!! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 Accepts cash & credit cards. PS. This place does get super busy during lunch time! Although line moves fast, but if you are impatient, go early before lunch crowd or go after!! 😆
Calvin L — Google review
It's an older building needs new paint and flooring to make it nicer. I don't understand why we have to fill out the paperwork on the orders with 8 people behind the counter. Didn't put pickles on the sandwich but I can say they give a fair amount of meat on the sandwiches and the bread is always fresh. The store needs cleaning we git 5 sandwiches some chips for $60.
Michael C — Google review
Very good service, very good food sandwich was great. I definitely go back. Do recommend to go check it out. Experience it for yourself. Parking is a little tight , well, worth it. 6 " is the largest sandwich, they make.
Victor G — Google review
Sandwiches were very good. You have to sign What you want on the piece of paper that they have, which was kind of weird. I like the atmosphere very old school reminds me of back in the 60s, 70s. Era ... It's in the middle of Stockton, somewhere get directions. If you're gonna go Remember it's stockton so don't trip...
Papi V — Google review
I have been a fan of Genova's since arriving in Stockton. I live nearby and often walk over here for lunch. For a place that's been here going on 80 years, to have such a regularly frequented business after all this time, should give you some insight on the delicious sandwiches and the lovely smiles abundant here.
Kishaun K — Google review
This has been a go to since I was a little girl. I remember walking there with my cousin to get a couple of dutch crunch rolls to snack on. The bread is always fresh baked, meat sliced to order and the grocery selection is top tier. If you are from the area then you know. They also sell pasta and sauces from Angelina's which is just as great. I always have to go when I come home and they never disappoint.

I love coming here for their cakes. It’s so good. I also get my custom cake here also. Everyone is so nice and welcoming ❤️

I will never do business at this place again. A cake was order for a coworker baby shower and the cake was not what we ordered. We weren’t offered a discount or our money back . The manager was not around and we are unsatisfied. I work for the county and will not be order any longer from M & W. The pictures really don’t do it justice. The first two are what they gave us and the last one is what we expected and ordered

Yuck.. I was expecting so much more from a Dutch bakery.. the rum cake had no rum flavor.. the chocolate cake with white cream filling tasted old like it sat in the fridge for weeks . and the Russian tea cookies had no flavor at all.. I just took a bite of the cream puff bad mistake.. the cream had the consistency of shaving cream.. Nothing I ate had any sweetness to it.. All of the people that left 5 star reviews have never been to a quality bakery.. I can be this judgemental because I have been a quality baker for over 40 years.. I happened to be in Stockton visiting and wanted something sweet.. I picked this bakery because of the good reviews... I won't be finishing the rest.. All I can say is, buyer beware..
Diana W — Google review
I've been coming to this bakery for years have taken nieces and nephews have taken aunts and uncles have taken all kinds of family. It is one of mine and my wife's favorite places to go definitely have to try their German chocolate. It is one of the best we've ever tasted. Definitely get there early so you don't miss out on all the desserts. Their customer service is amazing. They will explain any of the desserts to you if you have any questions or dietary restrictions. They can explain what they have in everyone. Definitely. A must try when you come here to Stockton.
Sara L — Google review
Pros: - short time notice for customized cake. - The sponge part of the cake is very good. The cons: I ordered strawberry & custard filling but I only got strawberry & cream.
Hana E — Google review
The staff is friendly, and service is quick. Only two customers are allowed in the store at any given time. I purchased a small key lime pie and a fruit tart (forgot to snap a photo). The total cost is approximately $8.00. The key lime pie is on the sweeter side, so I recommend eating with some milk to drink. The filling and whip cream is smooth, and you can taste the lime. The fruit tart is my favourite of the two. It is decorated with kiwi, strawberry, and mandarin slices and dressed with simple syrup. The custard filling is perfect..!
Hailey K — Google review
Small place with a decent selection of pastries, cakes, cookies. I bought Cannolis, they are pretty good here and at a cheap price.
Al V — Google review
I love coming to this place. This wonderful chocolate ganache cake, and the two small chocolate slice cakes are so smooth and moist!! The cakes were not too heavy, the cream and the chocolate covered tops we're soft so it was easy for the fork to cut into. My family and I were able to finish the entire thing!!! It was so light we continue to eat it and there were no leftovers.

Donut shop

Fast food restaurant
Krispy Kreme is a well-established chain that offers a wide range of donut flavors and shapes along with coffee and frozen beverages. While one customer had a negative experience, it should not overshadow the overall reputation of the brand. During their visit, they ordered several donuts which were enjoyable. However, their dissatisfaction stemmed from ordering an iced mocha coffee that seemed to be poorly prepared by the staff. Despite being charged for a medium-sized drink, they received a smaller portion instead.
Krispy Kreme always delivers the same great taste no matter which location I visit. This shop was clean, quiet, and the staff was reasonably friendly. The original glazed donut is still my favorite! Full Review: One thing I appreciate about Krispy Kreme is the consistency — no matter which location I go to, the donuts taste just as good every time. This location was clean, peaceful, and the staff was decently friendly. I had the original glazed, and as always, it was soft, sweet, and delicious. It’s a reliable place when you’re craving something classic and satisfying.
Daniel — Google review
The sign was on!!! The best glazed around! The service was something to be desired here but I wasn't there for the moody sagging pants wearing counter boy I was there for the glazed doughnuts! Very cool to watch the doughnuts being made too!
Lisa — Google review
I expected a little more, especially because of the store's fame. What caught my attention the most was the simplicity of the place, something curious for a business so popular and loved by the general public. Unfortunately, the most famous donut, cream cheese, was already finished when I arrived - and it was only 10:30 am on a Sunday morning. The production was already being sanitized. I understand that Sunday is a quieter day, but still, I got the feeling that it could have been a more complete experience.
Frank V — Google review
I love Krispy Kreme and I drove all the way over here and the place was kind of dirty, the people really nice though, the donuts just did not seem to be super fresh.
Veronica C — Google review
I came in for donuts for my birthday and not only were the donuts fresh and delicious but Anthony's energy was such a ray of sunshine and made my whole day. The workers here are so kind and the facilities are so bright and clean. I would recommend this Krispy Kreme to anyone and they have a loyal customer for life.
Valerie L — Google review
we went in and the place was really clean. The customer service was great, the manager, Anthony Lowe, made us feel welcomed, offering us two free glazed donuts. He then gave us a additional free drink when we ordered only one. Amazing service! 👏

On Thursday August 7, a friend and I went to the March lane store. Our server was Anthony Lowe , he was very friendly and welcoming. He's a perfect example of a great employee, every food facility should have an employee like him. Thank you Anthony for the great service.

7Noah's NY Bagels

Bagel shop
Bakery
Breakfast restaurant
Noah's NY Bagels is a popular bagel chain known for its breakfast sandwiches, pastries, and delicious bagels. The mornings are always bustling with activity due to their early closing time at 2pm. While the lines move quickly for picking up food or purchasing bagels, the preparation of sandwiches and hot foods can be slow and disorganized. Staff tend to start multiple items but leave them sitting, resulting in longer wait times of about 15-20 minutes for hot items.
My wife and I were at St. Joseph's for a few days and decided to grab some breakfast. I looked up some local spots on DoorDash and found Noah's. The bagel sandwiches looked really good. I decided to order some bagel sandwiches for us, and placed an order for a baker's dozen for the nurses in the maternity ward. At first, I tried calling but realized I would have to order ahead online. After placing my order, I drove to the spot located in Lincoln Center. The area was bustling with people. There was various groups of people sitting outside the shop. This was a good sign to me that this place must be good. Went inside and my order was ready to go in the mobile order area. I had a slight mixup because I ordered two of the same cream cheese tubs when I meant to order two different kinds. I ended up purchasing a plain cheese cream tub in addition to the two onion and chives I had ordered with the baker's dozen. The lady at the register was very nice and gave me a small discount because of the confusion. She then made sure I had knives and napkins for my order, and handed me a few different flyers for their business. The bagel sandwiches were really good! I got the farmhouse sandwich which came with egg, cheese, bacon, and ham. My wife ordered the ham and Swiss with egg. The bagels were nice and soft and there was a generous portion of toppings on each sandwich. The nurses loved the bagels and thanked us for getting them. My full order for two sandwiches and 13 bagels with three tubs of cream cheese came out to less than $35! The cool thing about the baker's dozen is that you get a mix of their different flavors of bagels. The bagels were a hit and the customer service ensured that I would return the next time I need breakfast when I'm in Stockton!
Major R — Google review
Their Bagel Brands, 😋Vanilla Hazelnut😋 coffee is the best I've ever had! I would religiously use San Francisco Bay coffee in their hazelnut cream coffee. It was good, but does not hold a candle to Noah's NY Bagels coffee. In one order you get (3) 4oz. packs for $10.99 I bought 4 for a total of (12) 4oz. packs and they gave me a senior discount. 😇 the staff was very busy taking care of orders and they were very friendly.
D10 D — Google review
The jalapeño bagels from Noah’s are always consistently good. Alicia is usually at the register and rings me up. She’s very sweet and knows my order every time, before I can even say it! Good food and Alicia’s excellent customer service, make this place a staple for me when I’m in town.
Saeeda I — Google review
My kids school had Noah NY Bagels Cater to go boxes and coffee. The coffee was I think medium roast flavor was ok the bitter side for me. But not terrible. They had the almond honey cream cheese that was really good. Grabbed a chocolate bagal and mixed berry bagal
Jennifer E — Google review
Noah's is the only place I will eat Bagels from. The blueberry bagels here are delicious, especially double-toasted with butter! Their Blueberry muffins are yummy, and even though I prefer my homemade chocolate chip cookies over any other, I get excited for one of theirs' when I visit. The only dorm side is that the line gets a little long sometimes, but it's worth the wait. Emily, who I believe is a manager, because she carries herself as such and works so flawlessly, is always delightful. Oh yeah, try their brisket breakfast sandwich if you're a brisket person.
Mini M — Google review
Literally a long wait no matter how many people are in line. And no one seems to care about customer service, or speed. Its not that hard to make a bagel and i should have to wait almost 10 minutes for a bagel with spread. But one employee here emily is great!
Allie C — Google review
Noah's Bagels is a fantastic spot for breakfast and the perfect way to kickstart your day. They offer a wide variety of delicious bagels and toppings that are sure to satisfy any morning craving. The flavors are always fresh, and their coffee pairs perfectly with the bagels. However, this place is always packed, especially during peak hours. You might have to wait for a bit to get your order, but it's definitely worth it for the tasty food and great atmosphere.
Joshua B — Google review
The Noah’s NY Bagels ruined my day off :( I came to get a bacon, egg, and cheese on everything bagel for breakfast and was very disappointed. Bacon and egg were dry, cheese was barely noticeable and they were out of ketchup.

Toot Sweets Bakery Cafe is a charming spot in Stockton that offers a variety of delights including coffee, wifi, food, and gifts. With 28 years of history, it's known for its carmelitas and small cakes. Customers love their baked goodies and whole quiches for work potlucks. The cafe has recently undergone changes with new owners bringing in banquette seating, Sunday brunch with live music, and plans to serve adult beverages.
My aunt had her birthday celebration here and it was amazing. The buffet food was excellent. You will definitely have more than one plate here. The servers were beyond friendly and attentive. The ambience was great and the live band was the cherry on top.

Whether it's baked goods, tasty drinks or a good meal, this place seems to be a great place to get what you want. A large area and plenty of seating for groups coupled with a sincerely genuine staff makes for a great start to a day or a nice respite for lunch. I found the outside area to be slightly noisy due to the traffic but the small tile waterfall seems to drown out the traffic noise with a babbling creek vibe. Prices seem to be decent(I bought a yogurt smoothie for about 5 bucks which she made right in front with fresh ingredients) and their selection seemed to be surprisingly diverse. I look forward to visiting more often and trying out more of the menu and providing more feedback as it comes in.

The staff members are friendly and treat customers like family. The store itself is comfortable and welcoming. We tried three desserts, all of which were pretty sweet (not in a bad way, but just as a warning for some folks).
Mylea P — Google review
This place is disgusting. I just went there since I haven't been there in forever. First off the service took forever. We waited 20 minutes just for a coffee. The girl was too busy talking to someone. Then my coffee was so gross. It was mostly oat milk, couldn't even taste the coffee and my mom got a hot chai tea that was extremely cold. We also ordered quiche and waited another 20 minutes for that and once we got it it was disgusting. The crust was so hard I couldn't even chew it. I tapped it on the plate to show how loud it was. The filling was fine but I had to pick around it. To top things off they made us pay with a card saying they had no change to take money. The food is definitely old and has been sitting there you could tell. Do not come here. Save your money. It's way too pricey to have old food. This doesn't even deserve one star. The customer service is awful too. Go somewhere else!
Deanna W — Google review
Absolutely the best Sunday brunch I have been to in years. Everything on my plate was delicious but the shrimp and grits and the pot roast deserved a second trip back for more. The owners, Monica and Anthony were so friendly they treated everyone there like old friends and even though this was my first visit they made us feel so welcomed and comfortable. I highly recommend this place especially for Sunday brunch.
Kevin B — Google review
Love coming here for their baked goodies! I especially like to get the whole quiches for work potlucks. Everything from here tastes so good and the goodies always look beautiful. Update: 06/10/2022 There are new owners at Toot Sweets and they're doing a good job. I stopped in yesterday afternoon to order a quiche for the next morning. Terrell helped me, and he was wonderful! He is very professional and provide excellent customer service. This morning, I received a call stating that the quiche would not be ready until 8:30am, 30 minutes later than my requested time. I arrived a bit early, and had to wait until 8:45am for my order to be ready. The staff was very apologetic about the situation and offered me a complimentary item which was nice of them to do. I took the quiche to work for a birthday potluck we had for our boss. The quiche was packed with cheese and spinach - so good! The crust was light and flaky, which I loved. Try the Mediterranean quiche... delicious!

Stopped by for lunch and discovered there are some incredible changes happening here! Beautiful banquette seating, Jazzy Sunday brunch, and soon adult beverages will be served. They are now serving delicious looking bistro boxes and along with ready made pasta, casseroles and seafood cocktails. My cozy neighborhood cafe is turning into an elegant bistro! I loved how it used to be and look forward to seeing the new version. Definitely stop in and check it out and enjoy the amazing food, ambiance and stylish new look.

Qiang's Bakery is a humble and no-frills establishment that operates on a first-come, first-served basis. Their selection of baked goods includes delectable options such as fried pork buns and hot dog buns. While the store may appear basic and lacking in seating, it compensates for this with its tasty offerings. Customers are advised to bring cash as it is the only form of payment accepted.
This is a must-have everytime I'm in Stockton. The best buns! My family and I always get the baked buns! I love the BBQ Pork but I try to experiment sometimes! I've been hooked on their buns ever since I first went. It was love at first bite!

Went in at 2pm. They had fried pork bun available. No fried chicken bun. The Bakery cooks in morning and then when they run out they run out. The pork bun had good Char Sui pork. Bun was delicious. The hot dog bun was good as well. They have a variety of baked goods to include cream puffs and custard pies. Very basic and plain store. No real seating. This is a take it and go place. Only takes cash. Food reminds me of fried pork buns from Honolulu. Overall good place for specific food. They also have steamed buns, but I did not try those this trip.

Donut shop
Sam's Donuts is renowned for its delectable donuts, which are unparalleled in taste and quality. What sets this establishment apart is its early closure time of 2pm, a rarity among other donut shops. Although the location may be somewhat distant, the trip is undoubtedly worthwhile. The proprietor exudes friendliness and hospitality, enhancing the overall experience. These delectable pastries are akin to soft, sweet pillows of pure bliss.
I drove a couple hundred miles for a donut…. Acrually a dozen but id of done it for a donut hole!!! I drive truck and on my way back from nevada with a load of hay and im always craving a donut… never met one i didnt like but when my maps app brought up sams and proclaimed them to be “The best donuts in Stockton” i said ill be the judge of that and you cant imagine just how difficult it is to get off the highway in a bigrig and find a donut shop then be able to get back to the highway and be on your merry way without your dispatcher or the owner jumping down your neck for not spending every precious second on them and there truck and load im hauling!!! When i get hungry i pull over and eat… these were not only the best donuts around but the gentleman that served me was great… the place was clean and to tell you the truth i remember back in the day how this part of town was and i was shocked to find it has improved a lot….. i will most Definately be back, soon too…

Fabiola O — Google review
This place makes the best donuts! You know how i know?? Cuz my family used to own one. And they're sold out or closed by 2pm, unlike other places. I totally recommend it. The only draw back.. it's kinda far out. But well worth it. The owner is very friendly too

The bakery Crumbl Cookies in Stockton offers delectable treats with a perfect round shape, satisfying any cookie lover's cravings. They provide convenient curbside pick-up, but be mindful of the limited parking space. To avoid waiting, it is advisable to park in a visible area close by. If you're willing to try other pastries, 85 Degrees is also nearby.
Love their cookies… Khloe’s skillet cookie has been my favorite. (Not the best looking cookie) but definitely really good
Kimberly P — Google review
Food safety is a huge concern. The photo posted was taken on a Sunday afternoon. If you'll notice the kitchen is a huuuuuuuge mess. Trash strewn all over the floors, crumbs and flour still on the workspace. The closing crew on Saturday has no regard whatsoever, just packed up and left. What is disgusting is that this mess sat from Saturday, all the way to Monday because they are closed Sunday. Absolutely unacceptable.
Chris N — Google review
I absolutely love crumble cookie they are so delicious and all the flavors are always new and different. Their cookies are the best recipes ever.
SAM — Google review
Definitely can never go wrong with the chocolate chip cookies. They are so soft! I also enjoy their different weekly flavors.
Tina S — Google review
We got curbside and the employee was very kind! It was quick and easy. Thank you!!
Sarah H — Google review
The cookies are AMAZING! I love the variety the weekly menus give us! You can’t go wrong with cookies or small cakes from here!
Brandi C — Google review
The cookies were amazing! My husband ordered one flavor and I ordered the chocolate cookie. Such a great cookie place with terrible service. I blame management. No napkins, clear information, ect. We went to Lodi and could only post about our experience at that site.
Tom C — Google review
This went from a weekly visit to checking the menu weekly only to find trash flavors. The usual carrot cake, chocolate chip, lemon, sugar cookies for the price point we need better flavors.Cake should be once a month and no more than two options on the menu at a time.Focus back to cookies and perfecting that niche. If you’re looking for the BEST PERFECTION of a tres leche cookie pls pls pls go over to CHIPS cookies❤️. You’ll thank me later. Look up locations near you. Hey crumble do better. Y’all fallin off the wagon.

If you're on the road and find yourself at a Flying J truck stop, make sure to swing by the Cinnabon kiosk for a delightful treat! This charming little stand offers freshly baked cinnamon rolls that are made right before your eyes. With both regular and large sizes available, you can choose from beautifully boxed options or grab one straight from the tray behind the glass counter. The atmosphere is clean and family-friendly, making it a perfect pit stop during your travels.
In a Flying "J" truckstop, Calling something "the best " is a matter of opinion. Thst said, I haven't found a better one anywhere. And, I've tried
Don R — Google review
Huh… what do ya know… there’s a Cinnabon stand in the Flying J truck stop mini mart. The mini mart was clean and modern with a family friendly, welcoming vibe. Now back to those cinnamon rolls. They fresh bake and frost the Cinnabons right on site. They have the regular and large sizes. Some are boxed and others are in the tray behind the glass counter. You pay at the mini mart registers. The Flying J staff work the Cinnabon counter and it’s not staffed at all times. So if you need help, you have to actively track down an employee which shouldn’t be an issue. The staff that I interacted with, in the mini mart, were friendly and helpful. But I lucked out and there was someone there frosting a fresh batch of cinnamon rolls. If you are in the mood to gobble them down right away and don’t want to do so in your car, there’s a small indoor seating area with a few tables.
Lillian — Google review
Yummy! Stopped here to grab cinnabon and drinks. Lady at the till was really helpful.
Joanna — Google review
They do not serve ANY cinnabon drinks if you are planning to go there for their drinks . They only serve just cinnamon rolls. Save you gas and time.
Phary S — Google review
Total ripoff. Small bun for $5. No thank you. Diabetes in a box
