Mūya is a charming bakery cafe located in Tokyo Mizumachi, offering a delightful selection of artisan bread. Whether you prefer it as a loaf or in the form of Japanese-style sandwiches or sweet French toast, Mūya has something for everyone. The cafe also offers the option to take out their delectable items.
Adorable small cafe right at the entrance to Sumida Park. The atmosphere is lovely and the staff is kind :) ordered a vanilla latte and a salt bread and it was delicious 10/10 Never had salt bread before but it was an amazing first experience :)

There's nothing better than a さつまいもcaramel latte on a chilly, October day. Jazz music was playing from the park in front of the cafe and the cozy vibe of Mūya really made me want to sit there for hours. That said, the latte was good even if the さつまいもflavour wasn't particularly strong. Not sure whether I'd get it again, it's good but less unique as you'd think. But next time maybe I'll try their square shaped bread, it looked really fluffy.
Anna M — Google review
I've visited this place several times and usually enjoyed their interesting seasonal menu. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the taste is generally good. However, the last time I made a reservation online, they didn't have what I needed when I arrived at the shop. It was very annoying since I came from another part of the city just for that.
Daria P — Google review
Amazing dessert and bread. Even the simplest-looking one can pamper your taste buds. 😄
Vân L — Google review
Cute cafe for a quick lunch. If you’re getting a little tired of rice & noodles, their options are a nice change with good croque madame + salad option & coffee. Nice break on the way to the Skytree, no queue !
M — Google review
Stopped by in the morning on our way to Skytree. It's in a great spot and we were looking forward to a hot coffee on a rainy day. You only get half a sandwich (despite what the picture shows). The filling was quite tasty but it would have been nice to eat the other half. The coffee was fairly weak and really disappointing when eating a toasted sandwich.
Dee J — Google review
Nice little café in Sumida Park, right by the water. They serve really tasty milky bread.

Great coffee, kind staff and a very cozy cafe - didn't get to try their baked goods, but they look heavenly!

Japanese confectionery shop
Ichiya Tokyo Mizumachi is a traditional Japanese sweets cafe located in Sumida City, offering a variety of handmade Japanese confections known as wagashi. The menu features seasonal treats such as Shiratama Parfait and shaved ice, along with classic options like daifuku and dorayaki. Guests can enjoy these indulgent desserts in the cozy cafe space or take them out to savor in the nearby park.
Great place to cool off during the summer months especially in August. The kakigori was so good. I had mine with condensed milk and mochi, which I believe is made to order or made in house.
Ian M — Google review
We stopped by here because it was too hot outside, the staff was not that nice but we stayed anyways. The shaved ice was a little bit sweet for us, the macha was fine as well as the Daifuku. One thing that bothers me is the staff keeps on saying we will close soon, is it ok? It made me feel like i am being rushed. Please make your customers feel relaxed.
Sake S — Google review
We came around noon on weekday. Not much people , it’s quiet and calm . It’s better for them to play some music in the store .
Momo — Google review
We stopped here unplanned and we were happy we did! I agree that the prices are a little high, but the quality was excellent - and the portion was large. We had a fun time because Pansa Ogata came in with a film crew to showcase the restaurant and we were asked a few questions! A great experience overall (calm, relaxing and tasty!)

Love the 抹茶parfait and 黒糖dorayaki. Great location and the prices are reasonable. Will comeback for more if I'm in the neighbourhood.

(Translated by Google) We came here on a Sunday afternoon for two. We ordered shaved ice and a matcha parfait. We chose apricot shaved ice, which was huge. However, the ice itself was fluffy so it was easy to eat and we didn't get bored of it. I was a slow eater so by the end it had turned into mostly apricot juice lol, but it was still delicious.

(Translated by Google) I've been wanting to try this Japanese cafe 🍡 The anmitsu you get at the cafe is truly exceptional 🤤 It's not too strong and has no cream, so it's easy to eat 🌿 I love pancakes and chocolate, but Japanese sweets are my absolute favorite 🌸 The warabi mochi, parfaits, and roasted green tea lattes are also absolutely delicious! I was also curious about their shaved ice 💭 I'll definitely be back 👍🏻 The interior was calm and the atmosphere was lovely ✨ (Original)

Restaurant
Asakusa Kagetsudō is a renowned bakery in Asakusa, Tokyo, known for its delectable creme-filled "melonpan" sweet buns and traditional Japanese confections. The establishment has been serving these delightful treats since 1945 and is famous for sparking the specialty "Asakusa melon bread." Additionally, visitors can savor ice cream and shaved ice with various toppings at this cozy venue.
If you love melon and bread, this is a bakery you definitely shouldn’t miss when visiting Asakusa. Start by trying their plain melon pan, then go for the one with ice cream. The outside is crispy, while the inside is soft and fluffy — it’s delicious on its own, but even better when you try it with ice cream inside. It’s one of those fun and tasty experiences you really have to try. The prices are affordable, and even though the line can be long, they serve customers quickly so the wait isn’t too bad.
Andro C — Google review
Creamy, Crispy, Cash only! Do note that they only accept cash. Jokes aside I really like the warm bun served with the cold fillings, I quite liked the vanilla cream one instead of the ice cream fillings as they tend to melt quite fast and it gets messy to eat. They have a strict policy of only eating within a designated area so do note!
Benedict L — Google review
just walking NEAR this stall front is heaven for melon pan/pineapple bun lovers — the sweet, signature, sugary aroma of the bread entices everyone walking by. compared to pineapple buns, i found that the melon pan was much softer and floppier/limper(?) than a pineapple bun. as well as that, the top was crispier/crunchier than a typical pineapple bun’s, which is usually very crumbly. i loved how the matcha ice cream wasn’t too sweet at all, with its perfectly bitter notes of green tea complementing the sugary top of the melon pan. the soft serve was also extremely creamy, and the coolness of the ice cream contrasted well with the warm, fresh, fluffiness of the bun. although it didn’t completely blow me away, and i think i still prefer pineapple buns, this was extremely satisfying and filling. also don’t be intimidated by the line, it moves EXTREMELY quick, since a lot of people are just getting the melon pans and not the ice cream (although you might have to wait a bit if you want ice cream, since they do it one by one and it’s quite slow).
Katelynn C — Google review
Tried the matcha flavored melon bread. There was a short queue but it moved very fast so there was no wait. The bread was fresh warm out of the oven and super crispy. It was a nice contrast to the colder matcha ice cream. A bit pricey but the bread was quite big and I miss eating this.
YQ L — Google review
Fantastic bread shop. Melon bread was large and had plenty of different filling options to choose from. We chose the Matcha and Whipped cream filling options. Also grabbed some for the trip home and just to snack on random days of our trip. 300y for a plain bread, and something like 600-800y for other filling options. Popular place and wait times were short despite having a long wait line.
Hei S — Google review
We ordered one normal Melon bread and one with matcha ice cream. Both tasted really good, especially the one with ice cream, because the bread itself is quite dry inside, so the ice cream makes it taste more moist plus you will have some of the matcha flavour as well. Definitely one of the better ones I had in Japan if you also have a sweet tooth like me 😜🍦
D. C — Google review
This is a must try and highly recommended if you are going to do a food crawl along Asakusa area or just looking for a light snack. The bread has a crunchy outer layer with the right amount of sweetness. Then the inside is light and airy which is contrast to its exterior. You can have it as is or with soft serve icecream in its center. There will be another queue if you opt for the latter.
Miguel M — Google review
Little line however well worth the wait! The best melon pan I have eaten. It was warm and crispy, paired well with the matcha icecream.

Bakery
Japanese confectionery shop
Ginza Kimuraya, the oldest bakery in Japan, has a rich history dating back to 1869 when it was founded by a samurai named Kimuraya. The bakery is renowned for inventing sakadane yeast and creating the popular anpan, a delectable combination of red bean paste and soft bread dough. Since its establishment in 1874, Kimuraya's anpan has become deeply ingrained in Japanese culture and remains immensely popular with branches nationwide.
Had lunch at their restaurant on the third floor. Food quite good - had the beef stew and roast chicken. But the highlight was definitely the free flow bread that was part of the lunch deal that they come over to offer every so often --from spinach bread to cheese bread -- all so delicious and complemented with whipped butter We also bought some baked goods from the ground floor bakery. Queue is quite intense -- famous for their red bean buns-- a little sweet for my taste but definitely really popular. They also sell many types of unique jams like hojicha jam and earl grey jam etc
Mei Y — Google review
Breads are excellent, tried both the famous red bean bun and the sesame variety. This was on a summer morning where there was a downpour outside. I wanted to grab a quick breakfast but surprisingly, was told not to eat in store after buying my breads. I was truly puzzled as the entire store was empty and I was only a handful of customers at the store. I understand if this policy should be enforced especially when the store is packed. But this policy of disallowing customers to have their buns hot when fresh, out of store is truly disappointing and one of the very rare occurrence of poor customer service that I’ve encountered in Tokyo.
Chris C — Google review
Ginza Kimuraya, founded in 1869, is Japan’s oldest bakery and the birthplace of the famous anpan sweet bun. Located in central Ginza, it still uses its traditional sake yeast recipe that gives the bread a soft, fragrant flavor. The multi-floor shop includes a bakery, café, Western grill, and French bistro. Their sakura anpan—topped with a salted cherry blossom—is a must-try. It’s a perfect stop to taste over 150 years of Tokyo baking history.
Magdalena S — Google review
Very good business. Famous for its red bean bread. Some butter Inside the bread as well. There is a big variety of breads for selection. Can come and grab some breads to go. This shop also has an afternoon tea areas on the second floor and some decent meals offered on the third floor.
Antony L — Google review
TLDR: bit pricey for dine-in, red bean buns were ok but nothing special to me We got two sets at the cafe upstairs. I got the shrimp sandwich combo and she got the red bean pastry combo. Both come with coffee or tea. The shrimp sandwich was pretty decent but nothing that stood out. The red bean pastries were also just ok, the sweetness of the red bean comes out but the bun itself wasn’t that great to me
Wilson T — Google review
Delicious bakery which will provide the perfect breakfast if you are in the area! Very polite and kind people will help you in case you have any questions! Sweet and salty - or take both! My favourite one for the moment is the „cheese danish“! Thumbs up!
Dimi R — Google review
The best red bean bread jn Tokyo. The second floor is the cafe shop and the third floor is the restaurant. The sandwiches are good too. Highly recommended
Betty L — Google review
Updated review: They used to sell a divine beef curry kare pan while it’s hot but now it’s bagged and you get a soggy one. Such disappointment they messed with one of my favourites. I’m lowering to 3 stars because of food sanitary conditions. Out of 10 times I’ve eaten here, I’ve gotten sick twice. Once was the lovely cream anpan bun in the hot summer, and this last one was the milk bread. I ate the milk bread on separate days apart and realised the culprit. So be careful. They sell lovely baked goods- another favourite are the anpans (baked buns with various fillings) in the front. I like the cream cheese, the chestnut, the classic anko red bean. The red bean doughnut was just ok- next time I will try something else. This store is always busy, côme and enjoy!

Bagel shop
Bakery
Maruichi Bagel is a bagel specialty shop in Tokyo, inspired by the famous New York bakery 'Ess-a-Bagel.' The female owner fell in love with New York-style bagels and opened this simple setting shop. The bagels are made by letting the dough proof, boiling it, and then finishing it in the oven to achieve a crispy exterior and soft, chewy interior.
Bagels are freshly baked and there are constant customers coming in and going out. One bagel is fairly huge and chewy. Cream cheese filling is generous. There are plenty of options to consider including whole wheat and rice bagels. Limited seating and accept card. Quite a walk from Shimbashi Station.
Lily R — Google review
I stumbled upon this bagel shop after strolling around the area. Staff was very welcoming. At noon there were few customers, no line. I ordered freshly baked cinnamon and raisin bagel with raisin walnut soy cream cheese and jamon Serrano ham. They accept cash and cards. I waited for my order around 5 minutes. The place is quite small, only 5 seats available indoor. And few more seats outdoor. The bagel was huge and I almost couldn’t finish them. Everything perfectly goes together. The bagel was crisp and chewy (but not for long if you don’t finish them quick enough. I would recommend to stop by this place.
KP P — Google review
Welcoming staff and delicious bagels! Thankful it opens early compared to most food spots. I had the garlic bagel with salmon and enjoyed every bite.
Sidra C — Google review
ı am in search for a NY style 🥯 and found this shop that offers their own unique twist — literally. They’re hand-twisted into beautiful shapes, giving them a distinctive look and texture. One of the highlights for me was the germinated brown rice bagel. It’s not something you come across often, and it was surprisingly tasty — definitely more flavorful than the whole wheat option. I also tried a small plain bagel to get a sense of the base flavor, and it held up really well. I also picked up a sesame bagel— I enjoyed it with watermelon and cheese, one of my favorite summer combos, especially with sesame bagels. Their sesame bagel was gooood 🤩. The sandwiches you see in the photos are actually my own variaton, but the bagels themselves are from here — and they turned out great. If you’re open to trying a creative, local twist on the traditional bagel, this place is worth checking out!
Elif B — Google review
Such a cute bagel place hidden away! The bagels were super soft and flavoursome, and the workers were super warm and friendly. I got the everything bagel with saba salad, and a blueberry bagel with cream cheese. Both 10/10. I love that the everything bagel has chunks of rock salt baked into it 🥯
Uyen — Google review
Love their bagels 🥯 BiG and warm 🤤 Came here at 11:30 and 3 out 4 bagels were still warm 😙 Surprised how BIG they are Only wish they had strawberry cream cheese !! Came here before around 1-2pm and they sold out so be careful
James F — Google review
I’ve been a huge fan of MARUICHI BAGEL ever since they opened in Yoyogi Uehara. Their bagels always remind me of authentic NYC style bagels and the way they make their sandwiches. I’m always impressed by the quality! The staff are friendly and polite, though it might take a little time to choose your bagel they have so many great options. Highly recommended!

FACTORY is a beloved bakery known for its artisan breads, pastries, and simple menu of quiches. The bread is particularly exceptional, with a soft and enjoyable texture that keeps customers coming back for more. The cafe area offers a comfortable and cozy vibe with a cute interior, making it an inviting place to enjoy a meal. Customers also praise the flavorful soup of the day and sausage roll, which pair perfectly with the freshly baked bread.
One of the best bakeries I've been to in Tokyo! Each slice of bread was delicious and the lunch plate was so filling! The biggest quiche I've ever had and the flavour was on point. The photogenic atmosphere was cozy and welcoming as well. I highly recommend shopping before you leave as well! Bread, cookies and granola were delicious. I literally wanted to buy everything in the store. It's a bit of a walk from the station but well worth it! The short distance from the station means a relaxing and quiet atmosphere which is a rare find in Tokyo. Definitely recommend!
Yui P — Google review
Very friendly. Consistently good taste and excellent quality since over two decades, during which my wife and I used to go there to this “Factory” on a daily basis as neighbors living very close. Our special favorite then was their “Pain de campagne”. BTW, we happened to see a YouTube video clip posted just a few days ago by a YouTuber “Kikkake” and its title was “Three consecutive holidays to make a leisurely breakfast. A happy time spent with warm soup and bread. daily life, breakfast.” To our surprise, at around 6:20-23, we noticed the following subtitles“Buns from a bakery called FACTORY in Kudanshita Tokyo, which is a bit far (for me). Nonetheless, I go there to buy it, because it’s so delicious !”

One of my favourite bakeries for so many reasons. Let's start with the bread. The. Bread. I love bread, and this bread is exceptional. So incredibly soft and enjoyable to eat, I could eat it all day. The Cafe area has a comfortable and somewhat cosy vibe. A very cute interior. I also got the soup of the day and sausage in a roll. The soup was so flavoursome and I ate it with the bread that I was served upon sitting down. I got some bagels to take away, sweet and savoury. The texture was perfect, a little bit chewy and dense, but still soft. The service was fantastic and staff were friendly and inviting.

This bread shop provides nice lunch options. Today, Cuban sandwich & quiche plate were on the menu, it comes with free refill of mixed bread (campagne, bagel, baguette) which is very satisfying

Cute, industrial design, little bakery. They have a solid, carbs-heavy breakfast for 750¥. Lunch is also quite nice, with a selection of either soup+sandwich or quiche/pizza+salad. The staff is very nice as well.

Lunch plate is "okay" (very typical Japanese style). The morning set and baked goods though are excellent. Especially try the french toast. Summary: go in the morning...or takeaway breads and toast at home!

very good friendly service. They gave me iced tea while I was waiting outside as it was super hot today and I was sweating hard. best fluffy and rich taste quiche I had in Tokyo. Salad and sides were pretty healthy tasting too

Bakery
Beaver Bread is a cozy bakery located in Higashi Nihonbashi, offering a variety of homemade pastries and artisanal bread. Despite its small size, the bakery boasts an abundant selection of Japanese-inspired treats such as melonpan, naporipan, ciabatta, caneles, and chunky sausage subs. The consistent queue outside the bakery attests to the high quality of its offerings. Visitors are recommended to arrive early to have their pick from the diverse selection.
Very great bakery, highly recommended trying their freshly baked walnut bread rolls. They have attention to detail and really make all their baked goods with lots of love and care. You can pick up your rolls and sweets with some tongs and put them on your tablet. Afterwards you go to the checkout with the selection. Went to this bakery twice when I was in Tokyo. Was amazing!
Chris R — Google review
Overall, it's just satisfactory, but it's not worth the long wait in my opinion, especially if you're not nearby. Traveling specifically for this shop might not be that worth it. The quality of the bread can be inconsistent, depending on which type you choose. I visited twice and bought 6 pieces in total. 1 of them (ie the jalapeno one) is very good , another 3 are just okay. 3 of them are quite disappointing in my opinion including the cake, the mentaiko (めんたいこ) one and the pistachio one.
Jay L — Google review
Incredible bakery. The smell brings you right in! Everything tasted fresh and handmade with care. The croissants and red bean bread were especially good — flaky, buttery, and worth the line. One of those small places that just nails quality.

I regret only one thing - that we found this place that late and that we cannot repeat the visit. The place is very cute and offers a great variety of snacks. We selected 5 different ones and all of them were just perfect. I strongly recommend!!!!
Joanna L — Google review
Loved the spicy nut scone. The heat left a great taste. A bit on the drier side, best warmed up to moisten it I think. The sourdough and white bread were good, white bread especially - dense and with a firm bite, great for sandwiches. Deifnitely want to toast both. Cornbread is savory, would be perfect with more butter or some sweet spread. Cornbread and the not overly sweet scone seem worth going out of the way for. Also a bunch of other good looking things here even at 4pm. Also really nice looking pricy jams, I'll have to try in the future!

March, 2023 If you're in the mood for delicious bread, Beaver Bread in Higashi Nihonbashi is a great option. Located on the lively Hiroo Dori, TRUFFLE Bakery stands out with its eye-catching brick exterior and the enticing aroma of truffle that lingers in the air. The bakery specializes in a variety of truffle-infused delights, including their popular truffle egg sandwich. Despite its popularity, the bakery is worth the wait, offering an array of delectable pastries such as the salt truffle bread and cream-filled shokupan bread.
Cardamom bun and cinnamon bun is a must! Really delicious. Really high prices but also very delicious- so from time to time I have to go there.

This bakery has very good bread, that’s for sure. I bought their best seller - salt butter roll. It was great. Cardamom bread was mediocre- it needs a little something more to it.

- Spinach Tartine (¥398): I had to eat this cold, so it could have tasted better, but it was still very good. The cheese was melted well, and the bread was soft with a crunchy crust. - White Truffle Salt Bread (¥278): I can see why this is the number one seller. The bread was so soft and airy, and the truffle taste was magnificent. Would get again.

A must-visit for anyone who loves fresh bread and pastries with a gourmet twist. The moment you walk in, you are greeted by the rich aroma of truffle, which is the star ingredient in many of their creations. Their signature truffle salt bread is incredible, soft and fluffy inside with a crisp crust and a deep, earthy flavor from the truffle oil and salt. I also tried the truffle egg sandwich, which was creamy, fragrant, and absolutely delicious. Everything is beautifully presented, and you can tell a lot of care goes into each item. It is hard to leave without wanting to try one of everything, so come hungry.

My favourite would be the Salt Bread of White Truffle because you could really taste the truffle flavour and it was nicely salted too! Truffle flavour was lacking in the Egg Sandwich with Black Truffle but it was still very enjoyable as the eggs were pretty fresh. The Bean Paste Butter Sandwich (Version 2.0) was another gem because the baguette was so crispy! Absolutely loved the combi of red bean and butter too — so good. TLDR: Please do yourself a favour and visit this bakery if you can! Must orders for me are the Salt Bread of White Truffle and Bean Paste Butter Sandwich (Version 2.0). Instagram/TikTok: @smolbelly

The ‘Salt bread of white truffle’ deserves a perfect score of 10 out of 10. The bread’s texture is remarkably soft and fluffy, and the harmonious blend of salt and truffle creates a delightful flavor. I couldn’t resist and ordered six of them, which my wife and I promptly devoured. I highly recommend trying it; you won’t be disappointed.

Chez Kazama is a charming bakery run by an elderly couple who offer a delightful selection of breads and pastries. Despite the language barrier, their warm and friendly service creates a welcoming atmosphere. Visitors praise the delicious offerings, with one mentioning that even as a French native, the pain perdu exceeded expectations. The quaint store exudes a cozy ambiance, making it an ideal stop for those seeking tasty treats and attentive staff.
We went to bakeries all over Japan - ones that had a lot of hype and long lines - but Chez Kazama is better than all of them. Kazama is a true master pastry chef. The croissants are like what you would find at the best bakery in Paris. The pastry is so light and flaky, it melts in your mouth. We went every morning we were in Tokyo, both trips, and couldn’t get enough each time. The staff also was very warm and polite.

Cheese Garden, with locations in Sumida and Ikebukuro, is a must-visit for those craving authentic Japanese cheesecake. Their Goyotei Cheesecake is a top seller, known for its perfect smoothness and sophisticated flavor. It's an ideal spot to relax amidst the bustling shopping area near Skytree. While prices may be higher due to the touristy location, the opportunity to enjoy a slice of cheesecake and a drink in a clean setting makes it worthwhile.
Chanced upon Cheese Garden at Tokyo Solamachi's food alley when the staff were handing out free samples of their cheesecake. I really liked the flavour, so I decided to pop into their cafe — partly because my legs were aching from all the walking and I just wanted somewhere to sit down. What I thought would be a short rest turned out to be an unexpected win! I ordered the assortment of 5 cheesecakes — the matcha and original were absolutely amazing: rich, smooth, and full of flavour. The cheese yogurt one was more average, but it worked well as a palette cleanser. I also tried the baked cheesecake drink, which was flavourful without being too over-the-top. Perfect spot for a quick break and a sweet treat. Would definitely return!
Sylvia C — Google review
A nice place to relax and have lunch. The lunch set includes a meal a drink and a slice of cake. The "pan-due" (bread fondue) was tasty with the French fries. The cheese dog was average. Not bad, but also nothing to write home about. The cheese cake was delicious and soft.

A nice place to try some cheesecake and have a sit down amongst the hustle and bustle that is the shopping area around Skytree. They have "sets" that include a (small) slice of cheesecake and a drink of your choice. As with most of the shops in the Skytree area you are going to pay more than a non-touristy area, so cost performance isn't great, but having a clean place to sit and enjoy a coffee is a plus! There is an attached shop that sells a variety of cheesecakes and related goods too.
Oliver B — Google review
Aggressively middle of the line. They have an innovative presentation, but portion sizes are tiny and the taste is only so so. By brother got an upset stomach after eating here which may or may not be related. They gave free water and a comfortable enough place to sit while waiting for that sky tree ticket time to come up, though. Wouldn't go back.

It’s always the quiet and quaint places that hit different. We came here after a long and rainy day out and the vibes just hit different. Food was amazing, alcohol was even better. The owner was very friendly to us even though we only spoke English. We were very impressed by how much personality the interior design on the place had as well. Saint Etoile Ryōgoku is a charming bakery located in a quiet corner of Tokyo by the Sumida River. The bakery offers a wide variety of delicious and reasonably priced pastries and bread. Despite its small size, the bakery provides a cozy atmosphere with a few available seats for patrons to enjoy their treats. Visitors have praised the friendly and patient staff who are willing to warm up food for customers.
This place is an amazing find right next to Ryogoku station. The chicken sandwich, lemon soda and lemon cream donut were all delicious. Great food and friendly staff! Definitely gonna be coming back to try more of the menu before leaving Tokyo!

This place looks pretty unassuming at first, and you might expect it to be just okay, especially when you're in need of a coffee. But once you walk in, you're totally blown away by the beautiful pastries! 😍 The egg in a hole was amazing, and we also had a chicken sandwich, with fresh lettuce, a home-made fluffy mayo and another mystery condiment that I can’t quite place. It’s the kind of spot I’ll be thinking about once I’m back home. Such a lovely surprise, and the ladies there are super sweet. I used Papago to translate the small drink menu, but honestly, if you just order a Cafe au Lait, you’ll be more than okay. Would love to come again. A hidden gem 💎

Saint Etoile Bakery near Ryōgoku station is truly a fantastic find! This bakery is an absolute gem, offering an outstanding selection of baked goods that cater to both savory and sweet cravings. The quality of the products here is consistently excellent. Whether you're in the mood for a satisfying sandwich or a delicious pastry, you won't be disappointed. A major highlight is their commitment to seasonal offerings. Visiting in October, you get to enjoy wonderful treats featuring autumn flavors like pumpkin (zucca) and chestnut (castagne). This is a delightful touch that makes the selection feel fresh and exciting throughout the year. Beyond the superb quality and variety, what makes Saint Etoile stand out is its very reasonable prices. It truly offers fantastic value, making it an excellent spot for a daily breakfast, a quick snack, or a sweet treat. Highly recommended—this is a superb bakery that provides a great experience all around!

Saint Etoile Bakery is a fantastic bakery to grab a meal, snacks or dessert at. I stayed at a nearby Hostel and we ended up coming here for breakfast every morning. Everything we tried over the four days we ate here was delicious. Can not recommend this place enough!
Jordan W — Google review
We had some sweet and savory snacks and they tasted really good. The staff was very friendly and provided great service. When you wand anything to be heated up, just tell „hot“ 😇. All the food has English labels. The Crunchy and filled Curry Bread was our favorite. There is searing available and the toilets are upstairs. Cash or PayPay only.

When in Japan, you must visit a bakery for breakfast. Saint Etoile is a cosy little bakery with a selection of savoury and sweet choices. Best of all, if you choose to dine in, they can warm the buns up! My go-to would be the fish burger which came as a set menu with an egg salad (very good) and beverage. Bacon was generous in one of the others we tried. The thick cut bread with sunny-side up egg and bacon seems to be popular. What’s more, there’s a sink for you to wash your sticky hands after handling these delights.

Mister Donut is a popular spot near the Tokyo Skytree, offering a wide selection of delicious donuts and bottomless cups of coffee and cafe au lait. The cozy location has limited seating but is perfect for grabbing breakfast before visiting the Skytree. Despite some mixed reviews on taste, it's known for its amazing variety and special sets. The shop is often filled with youngsters, making it a refreshing stop in an area where aging population is common.
If you are near the Skytree, this is the perfect place to get the best donuts in the world. Since seats are very limited, takeaway is also an option. We had breakfast there before going to the Skytree.

My husband and I had lunch nearby, afterwards we wanted something sweet and we saw that there was ミスタードーナツ, so here we are. I’ve been wanting to try the very cute Pokemon donut, I’m so happy that they have it! We ordered that cute Pokemon donut and one kinda plain and normal one. I always love ミスタードーナツ’s chewy donut, and this time the Pokemon one, has the chewy part and the middle creamy donut part. The chewy donut was absolutely delicious, also the creamy donut was so soft and fluffy, makes you can’t stop eating, I love it! The plain one was delicious too, very soft and although it’s a bit sweet for me, but still acceptable. Always love ミスタードーナツ’s donuts! It’s the best doughnut shop for me and my husband!

I presume that the no photography refers to inside the shop. Photos shared are taken from outside the shop on the street. Limited seats inside for this branch. The tokyo skytree view from the street is magnificent. Got 6 pon de ring for 950 yen - 2 of each flavor. Slightly disappointed with the taste of it as it is a bit salty and not as sweet as I remember it to be.

"Pain・maison Sumida Asakusa Dori" is a must-visit bakery in Tokyo, known for its delectable and reasonably priced bread. Their melon bread and salty bread are particularly popular, with a buttery and soft texture that sets them apart from others. The dense quality of their breads makes for a satisfying treat, unlike the hollow varieties found elsewhere.
Saw a line out the door on my walk after visiting the Skytree, and knew I had to join it. Quite possibly the best rolls I’ve had in my life, and some of my favorite food I’ve had in Tokyo yet. Absolutely recommend the Melon Pan (more a cookie type roll), and the Salt Roll. Everything looked amazing though. The butteryness of it all just makes it melt in your mouth.

Walked by this place and the smell of freshly baked bread was irresistible. There was a line, but it was moving quickly, so I decided to join it. They specialize in freshly baked salty bread what’s called Shiopan? I had the sweet potato bread and it was absolutely delicious. The mixture of the saltines in the bread and the sweetness from the potato combined with the sesame was perfection. It tastes amazing hot.

The smell of freshly baked bread was irresistible as I walked past the store, and there was quite a queue. They offer various types of shiopan, including sandwiches and the original version. I recommend eating it while it’s still warm, or if your hotel has an oven, reheating it before eating for the best taste. It’s much better than having it cold!

(Translated by Google) The other day, I was waiting in line outside the store before it even opened to buy the new menu item, "Mochurin." The store opens at 10:00, and as soon as it opened, I lined up at the front of the queue, under a paper that said "Front of the queue." The customers who came after me also lined up behind me, and as soon as the store opened, a long queue formed. Then suddenly, an older woman at the store told me, "Please line up over there, not here," and made me line up in a completely different place, and in the end, even though I was at the front of the queue, I was put at the back. As a result, even though I had been in line before the store opened, I was put at the back, and the Mochurin was gone right in front of me. What did "the front of the queue" even mean? Even if the place to line up was different, is it really okay to guide someone who was at the front of the queue to the back? Everyone who was in line behind me was also forced to line up again, and some people were unable to buy Mochurin. The location of the waiting line is misleading and difficult to find, and forcing the person at the front of the line to join the back is unacceptable. I was in line before they even opened, so this was a really unpleasant experience. Please give me my time back. TOMTOM Bakery Higashi-Mukōjima has been operating in downtown for four decades, establishing itself as a well-known and reliable bakery. Their menu offers a wide variety of delectable treats that are sure to please any palate, with their cakes being particularly noteworthy. It is speculated that the establishment may have originally functioned as a café too.
Another nice and early place to grab breakfast. We got the curry pan and some sandwiches and they all tasted good.

(Translated by Google) This bakery has an Italian restaurant on the second floor, and has a wide variety of breads with distinctive Italian flavors. The first thing that surprised me was the high quality and deliciousness of the cheese kneaded into the bread. Cheese lovers will love this delicious dish. Even though the amount of pepper is small, it has a strong flavor, and the asparagus has a strong taste, and you can tell that the ingredients used are of the same quality as those used in restaurant dishes. The bread itself is crispy on the outside, moist and fluffy on the inside, and has an exquisite finish.Reheating the side dish bread in the toaster at home will bring out the contrast and make it even more delicious, so we recommend it. Another thing to note is that the fried bread is not soggy and the dough inside remains fluffy even after a while. Curry bread is the best example of this characteristic. The curry bread is reasonably priced and recommended. If you have a sweet tooth, I also recommend the donuts. Out of all the bakery donuts, this shop's donuts are my favorite so far. At first, you may think the prices are a little high, but the breads with original flavors that make use of the high quality of an Italian restaurant will definitely make you want to eat them again.

Bakery & Cafe Pornic is a delightful bakery in Tokyo that offers a wide variety of breakfast options, from soft pastry dough filled with egg, ham, and cheese to giant cheese bread loaves and mochi donuts. The staff is friendly and helpful, making it easy for non-Japanese speakers to navigate the menu. This cozy bakery also serves freshly baked sweets and savories, including delicious pizzas cooked to perfection.

Bakery with great breakfast. But eat in, or you will have to take it all with you. Get everything and try it you will be surprised. Everything and I mean everything was wonderful. I can type or say the item names but there is a pastry with bacon and egg on top it's my favorite start for breakfast. Then anything else. I even had the clam chowder it was great. We returned every morning except Sunday (they were not open Sunday). Just go here get a tray fill your try to pay and they bring it over to your table with your drink. Lots of local traffic here so you know it's good. Plus great stop for tourists that want to experience the differences. Must go here!

They have so many options for breakfast from egg/ham/cheese on soft pastry dough, giant cheese bread loaves filled with cheese, mochi donuts, hot dogs with cheese of the most amazing bread ever, hash brown patties, etc. All of the descriptions are in Japanese so just use Google translate if you don't read it but everything is pretty easy to figure out. Great little bakery with a wide selection of sweets and savories to pick from. All made and baked freshly in store. Eating some of this for breakfast is a fantastic way to start the day. The staff speak minimal English, but a quick game of charades never hurts. Plenty of seating available inside to get out of the cold. The pizza is so good, they were cooked to perfection and had such good flavors throughout. Definitely a good pick me up in a great location.

We were hard pressed to find any sort of American type breakfast (waffles, eggs, bacon, sausages, pastries, etc) at 9:00am in this area. We thought about eating a sandwich or fruit cup from the Lawson's, but glad we stumbled upon this place. Not American, but French pastries and oh so yummy! Everything looked good, was freshly baked, and inexpensive. A great choice for an early breakfast. It's probably going to be our go-to spot the whole time we're here. We had the chocolate bread, eggs salad sandwich, ham and cheese sandwich, sourdough cheese bread, bacon bread, chocolate croissant, hash brown, and sumo bean bun. The inside of the chocolate croissant had an strange texture, but otherwise it tasted good and we loved our breakfast! *Edited: we have come back every day since my first review and discovered the Onion Bread. Oh my goodness! To die for. Best breakfast we've had since we've been here. They rotate what's on the shelves every day, so it's not there every time, but if you find it, it's gold. Yum!

I looked around and saw that side dish bread was being sold at an unbelievable price, so I got to the back of the line. There were about 8 people in front of me, and everyone came out with big bags, so I bought them in bulk. In fact, there are only a few types of bread left. 5 minutes after I bought it, it was almost sold out. There will be a price increase soon. It's still a pretty good performance What I was able to purchase were ham cutlets and ham sandwiches. I had spaghetti and tuna, but I couldn't decide and decided on the ham combination. It looked like there weren't many ingredients, so I added them myself. I'll prepare some soup. I was surprised at how thick the ham cutlet was, and not only the sauce, but also a bit of cabbage, and the cutlet was covered with a sweet and spicy sauce. Add more cabbage The ham sandwich consists of roast ham, lettuce, and tartar sauce. I have leftover jam from just this bread, so I put it in yogurt or put it on toast to eat it all up. Famous and fashionable bakeries are nice, but this bakery is also great! Komado Bakery is a small shop with a variety of bread options that are both delicious and flavorful. The butter sandwich and raisin milk France are particularly recommended, as they offer crispy and succulent bites. The whole wheat scone and brioche melon bread are also popular choices, with the scones being described as Zakuhoro style and the melon bread being rich and tasty. Additionally, the figs and walnuts from this bakery are highly praised for their natural flavors.

I wanted to try it out because of its cute storefront, but the focaccia, rustic, and bagels didn't really resonate with me at the time... (I had just gone to a bagel specialty store near the shrine just before that). ,, I wanted "brioche", but the brioche I wanted was a buttery, rich dough similar to the Western liquor at Sabarin, and the one here didn't seem healthy or rich, so I was a little hesitant about the brioche melon bread at the end. However, I decided to skip it this time. But judging by the appearance, it's a store that appeals to women. I would have liked to try it if the Rustick was simple and didn't have purple color (maybe it also contained sweet potatoes?). I'd like to try something else next time. (Translated by Google) A bakery that opened in June 2021 in the place where there was previously a Koppepan specialty store called "Morioka Seipan." Curry bread has croutons on the outside and is characterized by its crispy texture. The curry is rich and the chunks of braised pork are full of flavor and delicious. If you can find it freshly fried, you should definitely buy it. The bread is quite small and cute. It may be unusual for Komae to have chewy ears. They also have cookies and other items, but since the store is small, the problem is that it depends on what they have at the time. However, everything is delicious, so it might not be a problem. It's a glass-walled store, so you can see the day's products from outside. After thinking about it, I bought a chocolate bagel sandwich and a glazed donut this time. The chocolate bagel sandwich is a chocolate bagel sandwiched with chocolate cream and diced chocolate. With its chewy bagel texture and plenty of chocolate and chocolate cream, it's irresistible for chocolate lovers! Glazed donuts are fluffy donuts topped with sugar syrup. When I bought it, there was so much donut dough that I couldn't see it, but it melted while I was moving it and it looked like the photo... Still, the donut dough was delicious, and the sugar syrup went perfectly with it. The shop feels like a small bakery in town, but the staff are very nice and the atmosphere inside the shop is nice.I think it's a very nice shop. When I visited around 2pm on a Wednesday during the Golden Week holidays, there were no other customers. The store clerk will pick it up. I bought cranberries, walnuts, and mayo tamashirasu. The cranberries and walnuts make the bread firm and slightly crispy. It has a unique texture. Mayo Tamashirasu is full of originality. Bread with whitebait is quite rare. It has a lot of mayonnaise, but when combined with the egg, it tastes just right. With this quality, both are excellent value for money at around 200 yen. There were also sandwiches (including baguette sandwiches) in the refrigerated case on the right. There are also fruit sandwiches like banana sandwiches. I gave up trying it this time because I had to take it home, but I would like to try it next time I visit. The first thing I tried was the "Fried Curry Bun with Braised Pork Knife," which was much crunchy than I expected and almost difficult to eat! It might be easier to eat if it was a little softer. The curry was sweet enough that even children could eat it. There were about three diced pieces of braised pork inside, making it a very satisfying and delicious curry bread. One flavor that caught my eye, and is something that seems familiar but is quite rare, was the "Cocoa Macaron and Orange Cheese Cream." I asked the cashier for a recommendation for a sweet treat, and she said melon bread was popular, and donuts were recommended, so I went for the cinnamon donut. They also had long French bread (maybe baguette? Around 200 yen) cut into slices and packaged, so I bought that too. Payment was accepted via PayPay and public transport. No hand towels were provided. The man's voice greeting me repeatedly from the back was refreshing and pleasant. When I got home, the cinnamon donut had a dough similar to cake batter, but it tasted a little different. The French bread was dark in color and full of air bubbles, and was very delicious. The French bread was so good that I want to go back again, maybe for sandwiches. (Translated by Google) I'd been wanting to try some delicious pretzels and rye bread for a while, and finally made it here on a weekend bike ride. I bought a pretzel, two kinds of rye bread, focaccia, a coffee anpan (sweet bean bun), a sandwich bun, and a milk tea melon bun (?). I enjoyed them with coffee I bought at Sumida Park, and everything was delicious!! The rye bread probably contains cumin or fennel seeds. Be careful if you don't like them. (I saw a negative review saying it smelled like perfume, and I think that's probably it...) I'll definitely be buying the pretzel again. I'll definitely buy the focaccia again, as I'll never forget its fluffy, chewy texture! This time, the rye bread was 45% full (it was delicious!), so I'd like to try one with a little more next time. The coffee anpan was so delicious that my high school-aged son and I were thrilled to savor it. My son seemed to like the pretzel the most. Delicious and fresh pastries located at the north exit of kinshicho station. I was especially delighted with the donuts which I ate 3 hours after purchasing and they were still super fresh

The pastries can be a hit or miss. The classic plain croissants are delicious. The mackerel sandwich is unique and tasty. However, disappointment with their limited time chocolate products. They looked tempting and chocolatey but tasted like there was hardly a drop of chocolate or cocoa powder. The tongs are awful. They are too slippery with no grip so you have to be extra careful when trying to grab the products. Make sure to bring the tray right up to what you are attempting to grab. I hope they change them one day. Admittedly the bakery is a little too small for comfort for an often busy station.

(Translated by Google) Sweet breads and side dish breads don't have much taste. The oil in the fried bread is sticky. However, the bread-related items are very delicious. It looks like they use natural yeast. (Original) 菓子パンと惣菜パンはセンスがあまりありません。揚げパンの油はギトギト。しかし食パン関係はとてもおいしいです。天然酵母を使ってるようです。
