THE BESTESTTTTT BAKERY!! My family and I have been coming to Candied for years and this is my first time writing a review because Alex deserves it!! I had a family emergency and needed two cakes and she was so helpful and kind. To say her customer service was great is an understatement. The most beautiful soul ever , definitely what I needed on a stressful Saturday morning. Other than that , I cannot recommend the red velvet cake enough. I wish i could gatekeep but its too good. It has become a family tradition of ours to have a red velvet cake every birthday .. so please never change the recipe🫶🏻 10/10 Also tried the cinnamon scroll and it was delishh, i do prefer a creamcheese frosting but this was sort of like krispykreme icing sugar glaze. Still yum, light and fluffy and doesnt make you sick🥰8/10

Tres Leche must try!!! I love it ~~~ And the beef roll was tender and amazing 🤩 I would definitely come back again. No wonder there are many people lining up for these delicious food

Loved the tres leches cake! Pistachio cream croissant shell was a bit hard but filling was tasty. Disappointed with the red velvet as the icing almost had a rubbery texture and don’t recommend it. Will be back to try the other cakes and pastries though

Long queue the moment it opened, but service is quick. Nice ambience and plenty of dine in space. Pistachio croissant cream is sooo good. Definitely must try! But disappointed with their cinnamon scroll, very sweet and nothing special.

Stumbled upon Candied Bakery and tried the chocolate Biscoff cream croissant, rich, decadent, and perfect if you love dark chocolate. We also tried the pistachio escargot, which was my favourite, lighter but equally delicious. Would’ve loved to try more, but they were understandably sold out on a busy Sunday afternoon.

We also got the beef burger which was absolutely delicious! So simple but the sauce and the patty were perfect. These waffles are on another level though. Couldn’t finish them all which was disappointing but wow. The cafe is also in a great location by the beach and dog friendly which is nice!

Nice place with a great view and vegan options. Highly recommend to try vegan pies! And waffles also look amazing!

What a welcome surprise to find this esplanade cafe has evolved into a delicious dining experience. The veggie burger came out with a side of scrumptious and crisp crinkle cut chips (with a difference) & gorgeous salad garnish. Complete with sauce, dressing and relish, it was a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds. Best meal I’ve ever had in Altona.

Come here if you would rather spend your trip to the beach waiting for food than at the beach. Took half an hour for two toasties, and it wasn't very busy. Food wasn't worth the wait or the price.

I only come here for the big breakfast. Unsure what anything else on the menu is like so my review is based on just this. While it does take some time to come out, I can’t fault the food. Great location right across from the beach!

Good menu variety for this little unassuming Cafe right across from the Altona Beach. Friendly service. They stock the KA pies. I ordered a milk shake, quite tasty.

The food was good quality but waiting more than 30 minutes for drinks to arrive (even after raising a query as to where they were) took a shine off the day. Ultimately producing the order email at the bar delivered the drinks - so get your order receipt emailed to you. After being hit with a 10% weekend surcharge and then a card surcharge, lunch for two was $90, so a request for a tip from the app was discreetly declined.

Went for the Sunday roast special, which was quite nice. Sprouts were a bit crunchy and more potato would have been nice, but roast was well cooked and lots of veggies and tasty gravy. They forgot our wine order and we had to ask again. Had dessert as well, which was generous and quite nice.

Our dining companions accidentally made the reservation for the wrong night so we were unable to sit in the dining room but the balcony has the same menu though it was a little windy. The food did take about 50 minutes which wasn’t ideal but when it finally arrived the calamari was flavoursome. I thought my steak was overcooked and I didn’t really enjoy it though the rooftop bar had a lively atmosphere

First time here and the food was great (amazing oysters and chicken baos in particular)! Had a nice variety on the menu and despite how busy it was, our server Louis was still so wonderful and apologised for the wait. He gave us some fun suggestions and overall made the night even better, so shout out Louis for being absolutely delightful!

We have been to this venue quite a few times, but this time we were a little bit disappointed by the 1hr+ wait time and the quality of our food, we were a party of three and ordered three steaks which took over an hour to get to us, I can understand that they’re a busy times in any restaurant but I would expect after waiting over an hour my food that it would at least arrive hot unfortunately the steak and the chips were all room temperature at that point we were so hungry that we just ate it. It was very mediocre. However, the staff member who was working the rooftop area was absolutely lovely and we did order the sticky date pudding which was fantastic and steaming hot, hopefully this is just a one off. We will still definitely be back but just a little bit disappointing.

Arrived just before 9pm (kitchen closes @ 9pm) and the chefs were still happy to do a Ribeye with chips & salad. Thank you! Try the 4Pines Dark Ale. 👌

Our family went to the Rooftop Bar to enjoy a couple of drinks. The sign out the front indicated happy hour between 4.00 and 6.00pm weeknights. The sign was consistent with their website.. I ordered a round of drinks and I was advised that happy hour doesn't apply on public holidays.... This was inconsistent with the signage on the footpath and their website. I raised this with management and thought we had an agreement but this wasn't honoured when we ordered the next round of drinks. Potentially a great venue but the hotel should honour what they advertise and promise.....

What a find! Sensational Charcuterie board with a few cocktails then left with the most beautifully recommended wines. Wonderful friendly host, a touch of 80’s trivia we played at our table and my partner and I were thrilled we dropped by. Highly recommend.

Good local spot for a drink. The staff are very helpful and are good for a chat. Not sure if it’s a place you want to go to for a proper sit down dinner. It’s more of a place to drink and have something to nibble on. The pizza dough/base was a bit too hard/crispy for my liking. I prefer some chew to the bite. Next time, I’ll just order some more cheese or meats instead. The mushroom pate was awesome!

Love it here. Been three times but haven't yet left a google review. If you like awesome wine recommendations and great snacky food, in a pretty cosy venue, look no further!

Everything was fantastic. The oysters were delicious, as was the selection of cheeses we had. We asked for drink suggestions form the staff and all matched perfectly. The chocolate negroni was a great finish to the night.

Would recommend the cocktails, especially the Vietnamese Iced Coffee martini 🍸 and the Virgin Tropic Like it's Hot 🍹

Best chicken liver pâté I’ve had in awhile. Service was amazing, cutest nook around the area.

🥪 The Godmother 🍃 Spinach Ricotta Maznik 🥔 Potato Leek Maznik Maznik is a Balkan deli and cafe located on the main strip of Spotswood. You can grab yourself some @allpressespresso coffee, pantry staples, a deli roll, sweet treats or their specialty item - a maznik pastry. 🇲🇰 Traditionally, Maznik is a crispy pastry stuffed with a range of fillings, from cheese and spinach to meat and onion. It is hand stretched until it is paper thin, the dough is then rolled and coiled with all the fillings inside and served with a glass of creamy buttermilk. 🥛 There were many different flavours on offer, the Spinach and Ricotta was nice but our favourite was definitely the Potato and Leek, it was incredible! 🥔 For a deli roll, a great choice is the Godmother. Everything was so fresh and the sauce inside was amazing. 🥪 Everyone passing by stops and peeks at the goods in the window. Can get busy on a Sunday but there are plenty of seats out the front.

ORDERED: 🥟 Cheeseburger Maznik: ground beef, caramelised onions, American cheddar cheese and mustard ($10.90) 🥟 Cheese Maznik: ricotta cheese baked to perfection ($9.90) 🍞  Prosciutto Deli Rolls: fresh baked demi ciabatta rolls, prosciutto san daniele 24 month, rocket, olive oil and provolone cheese ($12.90) I spent $16.85 here, including card surcharge. *They were very kind in not charging for public holiday surcharge, even though we came on Easter Sunday REVIEW: This is the first time I've had a maznik!! It's a crispy swirl pastry with lots of air in between and fillings of your choice. The sesame seed toppings have a mind of its own, letting it be partially messy as it makes your way in and around your plate. It's a cool buttery alternative to the usual pastries you get from cafes. I will say it is a little dry though, but unsure if this is the norm. The ricotta was our favourite! It doesn't melt under heat, so we got the crumbliness and the neutral cheese taste without feeling overwhelmed. 😊 Cheeseburger was more similar to just seasoned ground beef - it didn't have that sweet/sour/saltiness that you get or particularly juicy. Prosciutto roll was delicious. I prefer the Saluministi construction, but the prosciutto used here is far superior. 24 month San Daniele is wonderfully salty, falls apart in your mouth, is so flavourful and wonderful that you definitely want to savour the moment. I'm also a hardcore fan of prosciutto in general. 😚 Service was straightforward and friendly. They kindly cut it up our meal in half, on our request, so we were able to share our dishes easily. Bring your own hand sanitiser/cutlery - this is definitely an eat with your hands establishment. It was quiet, but it was good because we could definitely taste the love in our maznik(s) and prosciutto deli roll.

Today we visited Maznik Cafe which had excellent coffee, had a very tasty deli roll and it was made with excellent produce. Will definitely go back again.

Simply the best Almond Latte I've ever had (no joke). Great, friendly coffee place out west and just off the highway! Grab the Vegemite toastie with a dash of honey, trust me you'll love it!

One of the best joints for coffee and toasties. At such a great price too. Extra accomodating staff as I have gestational diabetes and they were able to swap the ciabatta for sourdough! Very family friendly setting also. Our toddler loved the chalk and being able to draw on the footpath outside! Thank you chapter one!!!

Unpretentious neighbourhood cafe with great coffee and outstanding toasties made to order - do yourself a favour and try the caramelised onion, bacon and fried egg toastie, or go off-menu with bacon, egg, avocado and roasted tomatoes on toast.

In a West suburban desert of culinary establishments I happened to chance upon a camel less oasis serving delicious food and beverages. The highlight was the $5 shake. It brought back memories of Vincent Vega interrogating Mia Wallaces’ in arguably the greatest movie of the 20th century. Had the BLAT as well. Just lovely. Could have had more but I’m watching my weight…..

This is a hidden gem, just off the freeway, in Eames Ave (off Miller's Rd). With great service, and a well thought out delicious menu, and the best coffee I have ever had, I would highly recommend Chapter One as your go to place for breakfast, lunch or coffee. You will not regret it. Love it! Anne

We just love shopping at our Hot Golden bakery. Lovely service, beautiful servers, and a great selection of baked choices. Their hot cross buns are the most delicious things you could imagine! My husband just adores them! Thank you for making our little shopping centre such a delight. Noelene

OMG this shop is AMAZING. We bought various pastries and Pies. The pies are great. Tasty, flaky pastry and generous. We bought cold pies to have for dinner and lunch tomorrow. The cakes are so nicely presented. Try the coffee eclairs, proper fondant and fresh cream. And Cheap. Well worth it. Give it a go. It won't disappoint.

Moved out of the area so haven't been to this shop for years. Had an opportunity to visit after 10 years and was delighted still same lovely owner! And wow, has the place been upgraded. There was a long line of people waiting for banh mi which wasnt available back then, so of course I had to try one. So delicious had to buy another one for later. Didn't leave without their cold pies and tarts. (heated up pies several days later and regretted not buying more). There was so much variety to choose from and all looking fresh. Prices were very very cheap for the high quality. Wished I had replica in my area. Please Mr. Owner, open one in Blackburn north!!!

Second time here to grab a bite, went for sausage Roll once again amd a French vanilla slice. One bite in the sausage roll and all.i tasted was the greasy oil.. that was done. Moved onto the cake, dried out pastry but the custard was OK. Put some love and affection into your business people .. disappointed

I’ve only been here about three times, and I’m slowly making my way through the croissant flavours! But so far I think the pistachio is my favourite, it’s amazing! The block loaves are great, the service and staff are lovely, and I had a long black the other day that was really good - it didn’t have that bitterness some long blacks have when they get a little cold. I highly, highly recommend this bakery.

This is such a lovely little shop near my workplace. I’ve passed by it many times, and one day, I decided to step in and try a Danish pastry. To my surprise, it was absolutely amazing! The taste blew me away—the baked blueberries were bursting with flavor, and the crust was perfectly crisp. For just about 7 AUD, I couldn’t believe I got to enjoy such a delicious pastry. I couldn’t resist going back into the shop to personally tell the baker how much I loved her creation. I’ll definitely be coming back often to buy more!

The croissants are amazing. My favourites are pistachio and cinnamon scroll. Hazelnut is also yummy. They are a premium price (~$7ea) but you pay for quality and they aren’t shy with the filling.

Hi everyone! I just had to rave about the delicious treats we tried - the brownie croissant, almond croissant, and pistachio chicken sandwich. They were all so mouthwatering and satisfying, and for the price, the quality was great too. I have to say, the almond croissant was absolutely amazing - it was so tasty! If you happen to be in the area, make sure to give them a try. You won't be disappointed!

For sure one of the most welcoming bakery I have ever seen, the jam donuts are honestly one of the best Jam donuts I have ever tasted, and the lady that served me was very nice.

Last time I visited it stated 4 doughnuts at $2.50 each but buy 4 and get one free for $10 now it’s buy 5 get one free for $12.50 your basically paying for your free one and they have really decreased the jam amount. A little sneaky

Well I’ve seen this bakery change hands a few times over the years and I wanted to give it another try. . I feel like it’s a new owner but it’s the same old run down shop. The bread is nice and that’s why you get 1 star The sausage roll was sawdust and tasted like it was 2 days old and the pie ended up in the bin after 1 bite.

I have never tried anything from this bakery probably because they cool the bread outside among the seagulls, pigeons and sparrows who defecate on and eat the fresh bread. I also saw a baker working inside the back of the shop with a cigarette hanging out of his mouth. Hygiene and food safety does not seem to be big on this shops agenda.

There was no bread outside. The beef and cheese pie was one of the best I've had in Melbourne. I will go back.

Good coffee but very mixed experience with customer service. The barista doesn't seem to take orders and the siglewaitress can be lengthily engaged with other customers, leaving the rest of us to cool our heels. I would at least like to be acknowledged. Perhaps further trainig is needed, and perhaps an extra staff member at busier times.

Was in the process of ordering a cake online, when I wanted to confirm some details regarding their 'themes' and sizing, so decided that I would go into the Highpoint store to get some further information and place my order. Having gone through the online ordering process, I knew that I needed 7 days notice to place the order, which we had. After speaking with the staff at the store, they told us they couldn't take our order because no one was trained and could not answer my questions around the cake itself. They advised me that I can call up and make the order this way. After calling up and trying to order the cake over the phone, I was then told we can't order over the phone and to come into store....I told them that I was told earlier that I couldn't do it in store cause the staff were not trained. They then went onto say that there is another 'condition' for Friday orders, in that they need to be ordered by the Wednesday by 1.00pm.......nowhere on the online ordering process did it state or mention this, nor was it brought to our attention by the staff. I stated that the Wednesday 1.00pm cut off contradicts their '7 days notice' policy only to be told 'well we can't control that'. Absolutely digusted by the level of customer service and lack of information and training, for products that they openly advertise to be easily ordered in a 'simple 1, 2, 3' process. Will not be ordering or supporting this franchise anytime soon....

Coffee always good But we had a toddler with us & the "high chair was very very Dirty" & we had to ask for table to be wiped. Seats need a good clean..

For a business based on family values i was pretty upset how their staff member blatantly refused to give 30ml of hot water to help me make a bottle for my child. That's not family values it is poor customer service.

Great service, awful pies. I had excellent customer service from the nice lady at 10 am on Thursday 24/04. Lamb Vindaloo Pie $8.00. Pastry was nice and flakey, but the filling was possibly the worst I've ever experienced. Crunchy cubes of Potato, large amount of corn flour sludge and 3 tiny pieces of lamb (approximately 5 x 10 mm). Could not finish the pie.

The young lady who served us was extremely charismatic and charming. She adeptly Manoeuvred the milkshake machine with such speed and grace. I very much enjoyed the whole atmosphere and overall quality of the milkshake. 👍👍👍

I stopped in for a scone and coffee, and was disappointed when my scone was served with a wedge of margarine! C'mon, surely a couple of pats of butter won't break the bank? I also found the older customer service person had quite an attitude. Disappointing.

Have gone past here plenty of times passing the train station and on my way to work, but today I finally decided to try it and I am so glad I did. I tried the meat burek and some cheese item I forgot to get the name of. And the meat and seasoning reminded me of my Baba's food from back in the day. And the pastry was so delicious and buttery every bite made me want more. Plus the portions were huge for the price! I was so full after but I still wanted more! I am 100% going to be back! The world needs more simple but delicious food, nothing with a million ingredients or toppings. I could talk forever about how much I enjoyed these pastries, but if you're still reading, go buy one, you will not regret it! The owner was also super friendly and had a thick accent so I knew straight off the bat that the food was going to be phenomenal.

Stop whatever it is you're doing and head to Nick's Burek. It is VERY good. Sadly there are no pictures because we demolished them before I even had the chance to take any. We ordered the spinach and cheese as well as a meat Burek, both were very large squares for a very low price. Service was good. Will absolutely be back here if we're in the area again.

The borek here was so amazing that I had to go back the next day. Called them up to ask to put some aside for us. We were a little bit late, but they waited and kept food. Very nice of them. Will go back again. Great service and food.

I ordered spinach and cheese burek. It was very delicious. Very crispy, not to oily , light pastry and alot of fillings As soon you enter you smell the aroma of the bureks. I felt I was in Europe. Reasonable price. Very good customer service. Will be back again

Lovely staff. The front lady was nice by trying to explain the ingredients and prices for us. Easy to reach from Laverton train station. Plenty space to park around the shop or train Station. Inside, was clean with simple set of table and chairs. Most of the people buy to take away anyway. Easy choice for vegetarian: Burek with spinach and cheese.

First time trying this. Got a tray of spinach and ricotta for $30. Worth every cent. Very delicious and fresh!! Will be back for sure

Traditional Eastern European Burek, Made in house delicious and delicate pastry with yummy fillings. Something I hadn't tried before and glad I did, I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch and will be back again soon.

Home to the famous Knafeh croissant, they are creative masterminds that have put in the hard work to perfect unique flavours and pastries. - sticky date 4.8/5 ✨ - pistachio cruffin 3.8/5 - halva 3.8/5 - almond croissant 4/5 - choc hazelnut croissant 4/5 - strawberry cheesecake danish 4/5 - blueberry lemon curd danish 4.3/5 - zaatar cheese stick 4/5 - mushroom danish 4/5 - cinnamon scroll 3.25/5 - knafeh croissant 3.4/5 - baklava walnut croissant 4/5 Their classics like their almond croissant and danishes are delicious, but their unique ones are not to be missed. I’m speaking sticky date, to baklava, to halva, to zaatar. Middle eastern and european worlds collide to bring you the best. As a self proclaimed croissant connoisseur, they arent the best in terms of texture, but they’ve nailed the flavours. I first tried her Knafeh croissant in 2023 when she stocked at cafes and it wasn’t my favourite - a bit overpowering and lacked lamination and crunch. Now I have no doubt this is the comeback of the century.

probably the best o.g. cinnamon scroll i have ever had. i arrived just after opening so everything was super fresh. i landed on the cinnamon scroll and the chocolate almond croissant for my order, $7 and $9.5 respectively. the cinnamon scroll was unreal, the sweet cream cheese frosting was thick and had the perfect amount of twang and complimented the soft, melt in your mouth fluffy dough to just make the best cinnamon scroll. the chocolate almond croissant was nice but i didn’t notice a very strong almond flavour in the frangipane and i personally wasn’t a fan of the chocolate drizzle on top, it tasted cheap almost like ice magic? other than that, i was very happy with both my items and i would return next time im in melbourne.

I got the lemon danish and cinnamon cruffin - both tasted excellent! Lemon danish - the tangy and sweet lemon curd complimented the flaky pastry layers. Cinnamon cruffin - loved the rich cinnamon taste and butter cream. It was heavenly 😍 I'd definitely go back again to try the other pastries.

Almond Croissant, Nutella Croissant, Pistachio Croissant, Plain Croissant. My husband and I really enjoyed the Almond Croissant the most. Nutella Brownie is divine! So is the Cheese and Mushroom Danish. But my absolute fave would have to be the Cinnamon Scroll, just because it satisfies my sweet tooth craving. 🤭 Parking is just along the side streets. The people who served us are quite lovely and friendly. Service with a smile! 👏👏👏👏👏

I've never tasted pastries as divine as these - the flakiness, taste, texture, and explosion of flavors will leave you speechless. **Patisserie Review: An Aesthetic Neighbourhood Patisserie** If you are in Spotswood, come try this simplicity yet aesthetic patisserie place. I have been seeing lots of posts and stories about this patisserie and I managed to try it today! Unfortunately, most of the patisserie were sold out but I decided to try their plain croissant and danish. And, omg! It was just so good. What I ordered: Plain Croissant 🥐 The croissant was crispy on the outside and soft, fluffy in the inside. It was just so good and buttery👍 Danishes I’m a huge fan of danishes and the taste of it is just right! It was not too sweet but the outside layer of it was still crispy. Ratings: 4.8/ 5 Hopefully, I’ll get to try their other patisseries too if I’m able to go early ☺️ Really looking forward to it!

Placed my order service was not over enthusiastic which didn’t bother me ordering a chicken pho and some kind of bah mi while sitting down and waiting we noticed the lady working and serving people there heating up the pho with the microwave then proceeded to put her fingers into to the soup to check if it was hot this is just very poor hygiene you can serve people using and touching atm machines and money then proceeded to put your fingers in food we just left at this point we walked back past the shop twice in our shopping route the clearly seen us but proceeded not to care all this was around 30 dollars will not return.

As I approached the counter to order a Bahn mi the lady behind the counter was eating out of the Bain Marie with her hands and handling the pork with her ungloved hands, licking the pork juices from her fingers. I declined to order, she shrugged her shoulders and continued to eat from the Bain Marie.

Ordered via uber. Entire order was incorrect. Didn't deliver what I asked for. Couldn't eat it and had to throw it away. Not ordering from them again. They don't even have a phone number to call them. Useless absolutely useless

Always a good atmosphere, food is always amazing, honestly can’t complain. I love the Roast pork Bahn Mi 100/10 recommend. I come here most days

Sadly not nearly as great as use to be. They have shallots for sale on the counter but don't have any to add to your roll (Banh mi) I've had great Banh mi all over Melbourne and never encountered a place that can't put shallots in. Shame.
