Caffè San Marco is a historic coffee house in Trieste, Italy, known for its literati clientele and timeless atmosphere. With over a century of history, it offers a magical ambiance in its well-kept dining room, outdoor terrace, and library spaces where events and book presentations take place.
Such a hidden gem in the heart of the beautiful city of Trieste. An absolute recommendation for every visitor here. The coffee and the cake are amazing, the stuff are welcoming; i changed the order 2 times and the waiter was cool about it. There was just a delay in delivering the my order but it is explainable because there were too many people. 4 stars 🌟 are well deserved Update: being a person who does not consume alcohol i did really appreciate the fact that at each time i ask the waiters either a cake or a product does contain alcohol they were very clear about it and helping me choosing.

It wasn't too busy when we went there and it was a lovely experience. The staff was a nice and fast and the coffee was delicious. But as a person with a sweet tooth the absolute highlight was their signature cake. But caution, if you don't like desserts that are quite sweet, this may not be for you.
Raluca R — Google review
Great cafe with a lot of tradition. It now even has one of the highest rated bookstores in the world inside it. Has a lot of specialty coffee and bakes their own tasty cakes (we had the famous “Capo in B” and Sacher cake).
Andreas W — Google review
One of the most charming cafes I've ever been too. Absolutely delicious desserts and cakes that I can't wait to eat again. I appreciate the vegan menu. The gorgeous bookstore adds even more attractivnes to this place. Highly recommended!

• Founded on 3 January 1914 • Art Nouveau style - ornate stuccoes, brass lamps, rich woodwork, marble tables, and vintage caféscape. Caffè San Marco is a historic and literary icon in Trieste. • The interior features painted allegories of rivers, coffee leaves, nude medallions, lion-paw iron table legs, and elaborate stuccoed ceilings—still largely original and preserved • In 1915, Austro-Hungarian soldiers attacked and destroyed parts of the café. However, much of the décor survived. • Literary luminaries like Italo Svevo, James Joyce, & Umberto Saba, have been regulars • Recognized as a Historic Café of Italy since 2005. • Functions as a café, restaurant, pastry shop, enoteca, bookstore, and cultural venue, & event venue. • Cuisine blends Austrian, Slavic, and Italian traditions. • Drinks include a house-blend of Arabica/Robusta roasted locally, fine Eastern European wines, and a strong coffee tradition central to Trieste’s identity. Beautiful place, coffee was okay, nothing out of this world and the service was not friendly and slow. Price wise it' okay but you will find the same or better coffee with a much better service in many other Caffes in Trieste. Worth checking it out if you are in the area just to see the interior, may be get a Nero and that's it.
Rodrigo R — Google review
A super elegant and quiet century-old café that’s a mix of coffeehouse, bookstore, pastry shop, and restaurant all in one. Loved the experience!
KY W — Google review
The atmosphere is amazing, the interior design is very unique and beautiful. There is a boon store at the same place. We liked it, but the service was veeeery slooooow, we waited for 20 min to get a menu. Unfortunately there were not many vegetarian options for breakfast in the menu. We tried sandwich and beige and they were not tasty. I would recommend them to improve the menu and to add more breakfast options (especially with no meat/fish).

Restaurant
Caffè Tommaseo is an elegant and refined café located in Trieste, Italy. It offers a variety of cocktails, coffee, Viennese-style pastries, pizza, and pasta. The café has a rich history dating back to its opening as Caffe Tomaso by owner Tomaso Marcato from Padova. Over time, it became a favorite meeting place for artists and businessmen due to its sophisticated ambiance.
We had the absolute pleasure of dining at this incredible restaurant during our honeymoon visiting Trieste for the very first time from Ireland and it quickly became one of the standout experiences of our trip. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by maître Loris, whose passion, knowledge, and exceptional recommendations made our evening unforgettable. Loris’s guidance through the menu and wine list was beyond impressive , each dish and pairing elevated our experience to something truly special. We were served by the fantastic Dino- Jo, who were equally attentive, friendly, and professional throughout. The service was flawless warm, genuine, and perfectly paced. The food? Simply the best we’ve had in years. So much so, we came back again during our short stay something we very rarely do on holiday. Every plate was bursting with flavour, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care and expertise. This is more than just a restaurant it’s an experience, made memorable by people who clearly love what they do. Thank you Loris, Dino Jo for making our honeymoon in Trieste even more magical. We’ll be talking about this place for years to come and recommending it to everyone! You must visit when in Trieste. Loris you made our honeymoon dinner so special thank you so much, we can’t wait to plan our next trip in Trieste.

We had the privilege of dining at this most famous restaurant located in Trieste late last year whilst on vacation from Australia. The location, building and interior took you back in time however with a modern outlook as the service and food were exceptional and delicious. The waitresses and waiters were more than happy to give you a history of the restaurant and the menu, wines and food that are predominantly and proudly sourced locally. We had a superb time and we recommend it to anyone visiting this beautiful port city of Trieste in North East Italy.

We decided to celebrate our anniversary here last week. They welcomed us with a drink and a warm greeting. I had the full course menu. We were speechless from the appetizer to the dessert, the food was excellent. The only downside was the raw tuna on the pasta, which had a slightly odd taste. The place is very elegant, although there was a fly flying around while we were having dinner. The dessert? Absolutely the best! I’ll definitely come back.
Jeffrea T — Google review
I just had an incredible experience with the best scallop I've ever tasted! The staff were so kind and attentive, making my time there truly special. I felt so well cared for, and I can't thank you enough for everything. It was a lovely experience. 😊💖

A top-notch Italian restaurant with fresh ingredients and a cozy atmosphere. The service is excellent, especially Dino, who knows the menu inside out and shared fascinating stories that made the experience even better. The tiramisu was the best I’ve ever had! Highly recommended—we’ll definitely be back!
KY W — Google review
We came for tiramisu but got inspired to taste octopus salad and seafood risotto too. Don’t have to say one was better than the other. Excellent food, great location and very kind staff. Tiramisu of course exceeded our expectations, so we left very happy. :) Would recommend highly!!
Neja P — Google review
Amazing food. Amazing atmosphere. Amazing service. Food - seafood crudités and cicchetti were very tasty and a good choice to share within a group. Grilled octopus was delicious. Tuna tataki was fabulous and almost melting in mouth (one of the best seafood meals I have ever had). Tiramisu was a great experience. Besides the fact that you can clearly taste the coffee, and hence this dessert being tasty, one of the waiters made it in front of us which delighted our eyes too. Atmosphere - you can feel the history in this place, especially that it is the first café in Trieste and used to be a meeting place for intellectuals. Beautiful historical interior. Service - very professional with big extra (e.g. as mentioned above). The croatian waiter made the whole experience even nicer, he had good suggestions for the food and wine and we had a nice chat (e.g. about the Trieste and the café) thanks to him being well-read. Edit: Visited again - great again!!! Edit 2: Visit again. This time we had San Pietro fish which was one of the best fish meals I have ever had. While all of the waiters were doing great, I want to point out that Dino was excellent - the amount of discussion was on spot (talkative but not too much to be disturbing) and his presentation of tiramisu was amazing.
Tomáš Š — Google review
The restaurant is great, everything is on the high level. Design is quite posh. We are vegetarian and there were only one vegetarian dish for us (pumpkin gnocchi), but our waitress Loris and Goffrane offered us special dishes out of menu and they were very tasty! Especially ravioli with cacio e pepe, you need to include them to your menu! We enjoyed the taste and how the dishes looked a lot. There are some things can be improved: please add more vegetarian dishes to your menu. It is also make sense to clean/renovate a toilet. Overall we had a great experience in this restaurant, thanks for this service.

Cocktail bar
Antico Caffè Torinese, located in the city center, boasts perfectly preserved wooden interiors and striking Art Nouveau glass cabinets and tables. The historic café offers a modern mixology counter alongside classic espresso and 'capo in b' pairings with brioche, cakes, mignons, and biscuits. Decorated by renowned artist Giuliano Debelli in 1915, the café's original furniture has been well-maintained since its renovation in 2009.
Standout location in Trieste with craft cocktails and a huge assortment of spirits. Homemade desserts and an "old school" vibe, makes for a nice experience here.

Small, vey cute and old caffe. Vintage atmosphere and friendly stuff . Good drinks, coffee and cocktails! Also pet friendly .

I had a wonderful experience at Trieste Torinese—everything was excellent, from the food to the atmosphere. A special mention goes to Danielle, whose service was outstanding. Authentic, beautiful and not expansive as the other old famous bars. Large amount of ingredients for lots of cocktails. I had a 5 years old grappa and before a coffee mixed with gianduja and cream. All very good 👍 I have not eaten so I couldn't tell about food...

Place with a great old-time atmosphere - coffee place during the day, bar from the evening until midnight. We only had a pleasure to visit during the day for some great coffee and small tiramisu bites. Judging from all the bottles and pictures of drinks, it can can pretty spectacular at night as well :) Possible to pay by card 💳

As the weather broke and the rain started Paulicarus decided to pop in here. Indoor corner cafe with pavement seating. An amazing architecture. Beautiful. The lovely lady behind the bar served Paulicarus with a large beer from Barcelona of all places plus a white wine.Oddly there is NO toilet...so cannot be an all night venue!! ( maybe regretting a big beer on a wet night.) Huge selection of spirits in glass display cabinets.) Some nice looking cakes...so had two coffees and 4 small petit four sized cakes..( one definitely a mini Sachet Torte).a good evening meal to go with barley soup. Americano referred to as " everyday coffee." Could have stayed longer but for......!!!! You can guess.20.5€ for all that.

Caffè degli Specchi is a venerable cafe located in Trieste, Italy. Situated facing the Mediterranean Sea, it is surrounded by the city's public offices and an elegant hotel. The interior exudes an old-world charm, offering a perfect setting for enjoying brioches, coffee, and hot chocolate.
Such a nice place to sit and relax, and enjoy the great view of the square in front, in a restaurant with an elegant, historic feel. I had a lovely breakfast fruit plate and coffee. The atmosphere was calm and the staff didn't fuss or make me feel rushed. There are doves/seagulls around, but that's just what you get in a city and near the sea. They were not aggressive, but easily went away when you waved in their general direction.
Christina N — Google review
One of the oldest, if not the oldest cafe in Trieste. It is located on the largest square and has a wonderful view. The service is a bit slower, but that is common in Italy when you come to popular places. The food is the worst - the pasta with tomatoes and gambori is bad, the pasta is store-bought and as if it should have been cooked a little more to be al dente, and the gambori are frozen and you can really feel it in the taste. Prices above the average for Trieste. It's worth coming and having a drink, but not much more than that. Be prepared that if you sit outside, pigeons (mostly) and seagulls will land on chairs and tables and try to take your food, which can be very irritating and unhygienic.
Sveto R — Google review
Culture and modernity united. The best and oldest coffee, paired with exquisite and top-class pasticcini. Coffee at the counter for just 1 euro — and of course, the quality is perfect. Highly recommended! See the pictures!

Do you know what kindness means? Kindness is when someone helps you when you’re most in need. My boyfriend and I were craving something sweet, and the guys at this place came through for us. Even though it was late on a Tuesday night and they were literally closing and packing up, they offered to prepare some sweet delights for takeaway. They packed everything with great care, very discreetly and with top-quality packaging. When we came home, we enjoyed the beautiful sweetness of what they had to offer.
Prentovic L — Google review
This is an upscale, historic café with a truly charming atmosphere. The place feels elegant and exclusive, yet the staff are very warm, welcoming, and attentive. Service is excellent. Whatever you order to drink, it’s accompanied by small snack like chips, peanuts, and cocktail toasts. They are also dog-friendly !
Benoit — Google review
Caffe Degli Specchi is the only thing I didn’t like in/about Trieste. The man who showed me to the table didn’t smile a single time. Neither did the woman who took my order. Both stone faced, both looked grumpy and not too welcoming. Showed me to a table under the glaring sun - no umbrella, no shade. Seagulls kept stealing people’s food and overturning ashtrays. Out of three things I ordered, only 2 arrived. Coffee was mediocre. Half the size and double the price of a coffee I had for brunch at a different restaurant in Trieste. Dessert was mediocre and on the expensive side. Took ages to pay because their card terminal didn’t work. The gentleman who came to rescue the unhappy man who didn’t know how to take a payment from me was the only one who smiled and apologized. I understand it’s the oldest cafe in Trieste, but with the attitude they currently have… unsure why they still have a high rating.
Tatiana S — Google review
This place is amazing! It brings you back in past, in some better times, with it's interior mostly, than with classic music etc. Stuff is very polite and helpful, and range of coffee and sweets is extremely wide and tasty. Highly recommendation for this place on Triestes central square.

Urbanis, located at Piazza della Borsa 15, has a rich history dating back to 1832 when it was originally a pastry shop. The floor mosaics and charming depiction of the Bora wind pay homage to its origins. Now transformed into a chic bar with evening entertainment and serving three light meals daily, it offers an irresistible experience. While the interior underwent renovations, the whimsical floor mosaics remain intact.

Dropped in here for a coffee, I'm English and to me Italian coffee's are so small, however the beer was amazing / German I think !!! haha and the Roman architecture is out of this world. I never complain on internet about bad service (worst service ever) but the waitress was just horrible (not only at us but with the other customers around us). No smile, angry, definitely not happy to provide an " acceptable customer service". When paying at the cashier the guy (probably the owner) threw the bill at me.... Avoid that place....

Caffè Stella Polare, located at Dante Alighieri Street 14, has a rich history dating back to its opening in 1865. The café's Viennese-style interiors with captivating mirrors and classic decorations have attracted merchants of German origin, as well as renowned writers and artists such as Umberto Saba, James Joyce, and Virgilio Giotti. Notably, the main room features a pastry section and hosts various art exhibitions throughout the year.

Caffe bar Stella Polare is a well-known historical place where the citizens have their meeting place. An exceptionally nice and pleasant place to hang out and talk. The birth of Caffè Stella Polare dates back to 1865. The unmistakable Viennese taste, with its classic decorations of stuccoes and mirrors, characterized by a place attended mainly by merchants of German origin and by many writers and artists both from Trieste and abroad. The visitors was Umberto Saba, his daughter Linuccia, Guido Voghera, Virgilio Giotti and James Joyce a teacher ( that time ) at the nearby Berlitz School, and many more….. Now, besides the traditional bar and cafeteria service, you can relax at lunch. For those who want a bit quiet, there is a comfortable and silent Tea Room available. In the inner room, in addition to finding a rich pastry department, a pictorial or photographic exhibition is permanently set up which hosts a different artist every two weeks. A great place to relax and enjoy the rich history. The service is exceptionally good, pleasant and professional.

Exquisite food. Cheerful and welcoming staff. Their Tiramisu is sheer ambrosia 👌 🤌🤌🤌Would strongly recommend. Will definitely visit again.

Normal pizza was great. If you’re coming for gluten free pizza I would not recommended - the dough was too hard to even cut, pizza was cold but toppings were tasty. Gluten free beer and gluten free tiramisu were good! Our whole table had horrible abdominal pain after eating there - maybe it was not the food but we can’t say. Overall, a lot of gluten free choices - from starter to dessert, but I would choose pasta or gnocchi not pizza :)

The big positive was that it was open on Sunday afternoon when everything else was not. Our waiter was very nice but the person behind the counter seemed to be unhappy about us being there. The portions are large.

First time trying Orangecello along with authentic Italian pasta and pizza. My husband had been waiting a long time for the authentic Italian food in Italy so he was really excited to find their options with vegan cheese. David, the manager, was super helpful and attentive. He gave us great suggestions and even brought out a colouring paper with colour pencils for our baby to play while waiting for the food. He also kept an eye out to make sure we enjoyed our food. We love the meal and the staff. Would definitely come back if and when we will revisit Italy again! 5🌟 and a 👨🏼‍🍳's😘

staff know enough english to communicate with foreigners and are okay, menus are also in english. we were not excited about the €2.5 placemat at the end because it was nothing special and the food was for its price already expensive enough. pizza was very good, pasta not so much and the bread was a little wet in the bag (so not very good). it is next to the sea so this is a big plus and also they are open all afternoon when all other are not.

We started the day with breakfast at the oldest cafe in Trieste, Pasticceria La Bomboniera, which dates back to 1836. This Austro-Hungarian style pastry shop specializes in pastries like Rigojancsi, Sacher, Linzer, and Pischinger. They still use the original wood-fired oven.

I can only recommend the patisserie. Try to get a place inside to get feeling about the place. It's a bit like a well functioning beehive. The sweets and hot chocolate were amazing and the prices very reasonable.

Very nice place for sitting and enjoying cafe and something sweet. The staff is very kind. Huge selection of desserts, very tasty cofee. You can see "Capo in B" in the picture (white coffee in glass) and you will get a small glass of hot chocolate with 👍

Poor service. They forgot our order after we waited for 20 minutes at the terrace. With only 5 other table with guests. They speak only Italian. There is like 5-6 people working and no one didn’t even try to say 1 word of english. After we said that they forget cakes for our kids, we waited for 10 minutes and they forget it again. And one important thing. They do not have a toilet. This is also against the Italian law.

I always visit the same pasticceria, and it never disappoints. The staff is wonderful, greeting you with warm smiles every time. Though the space inside is small, it has a soul that makes it truly special. Their croissants are divine, and the pralines are just as delightful!

This is my favorite café in Trieste. I really like their coffee and pastries — especially the filter coffee and cappuccino. It’s a great place to hang out with friends or get some work done. They also offer free Wi-Fi. The staff are very friendly and speak English as well.

One of my favorite cafés in Trieste. I love their sweets, especially the red velvet cake and red velvet cupcake. Today, I also happened to try their vegan lunch, and I can say it’s really, really good. BUT, today we went there between 12:20 and 13:00, and the service was really BAD. One of the staff members kept chitchatting, not paying attention at all. I saw that our order was ready, but she stood there talking for about 2–3 minutes with one of her colleagues right in front of our cake and coffee before serving it. I mean, how can a staff member keep talking in front of a client’s order? Imagine her saliva landing on our food. Secondly, she didn’t even say “excuse me” or anything when she came to remove our plates. The really bad part was that she stood behind me, noisily throwing all the utensils onto the tray like she was mad or something. She also got my husband’s order wrong, which I can understand since it was a busy hour. However, I’ve never met such a rude staff member in my life until today.

maybe the best coffee I ever had. also, cookies and cupcakes are excellent. prices are ok, and the atmosphere is beautiful. staff is nice but sometimes a bit slow because it is usually crowded. the location is perfect: near the park and not so far away from the sea. I regret for not buying coffee for home (I haven’t realise that they sell coffee in bags, for home) but I do really hope to visit Trieste again soon. this is a place to be!!!

Nestled in the heart of Trieste, Viezzoli is a charming family-run establishment that has evolved beautifully since its inception as a bakery in 1962. Over the years, it expanded to include a pastry shop and relocated to its current inviting space in 2008. A brilliant addition was made with an adjacent area transformed into an open-view laboratory, allowing visitors to witness the artistry behind their freshly baked bread right from the elegant pedestrian street outside.
Located super centrally Viezzoli is a joy for the eyes. And very importantly for your palate too! Their selection is huge. It offers both sweet and savory options. Much appreciated the presence of patisserie mignon & bread flavored with things like olives (one of my favorites!). They have some tables inside in a beautiful environment and then many more outdoor, nicely covered by a gazebo immersed in a pedestrian area, one of the most beautiful and lively in Trieste. The personnel is quick and kind, so you can enjoy equally a quick snack-to-go or a longer stay.

Tourists Trap. People try to scam you, don’t offer water, force you to pay for some bottle of water, plus the food and coffee is much worse than in any coffee around. Really go for some local food, this is not it. Plus when we went to pay they gave us attitude because the waiter didn’t give us the ticket. They were three for the payment rolling their eyes and doing faces in front of us. Shame on you.

Caffe Pirona, established in 1900 by Alberto Pirona, holds a significant place in the city's history and has welcomed esteemed guests such as James Joyce. The cafe's charming interiors and Liberty-style outdoor seating provide a tranquil escape from the bustling Largo Barriera. Visitors can savor high-quality coffee or indulge in velvety hot chocolate made from premium cacao.
This historic cafe (often frequented by James Joyce) was across the street from my hotel. I loved the variety of petit-four-size pastries and sampled a number of them. My favorite was the one that was salted caramel, topped with a pecan. The service was prompt and friendly.

traditional and beautiful attention. There is not much variety of sweets but those that are there are divine. The decoration of the place was paralyzed in the 40s, it is something that people like me who love places with soul and history enjoy. The young woman's attention is wonderful.

So to be clear this is hands down the best and nicest bakery/patisserie in the world. If you care for such things it was frequented by Joyce but more than that it looks so impossibly cute. Everything is great but the maritozzi are sublime. About 10 times better than anywhere in Rome. In case they sold them out come the next day. It’s that good.

This Historic cafe has been back for a while now and I'm so glad about it. Cafe is good but make no mistake, you will come here for the pastries: the mignon with whipped cream are heavenly delicious and definitely my favourites. You can't go wrong choosing the maritozzo or the sacher though. The classic interior, which preserves the historic value of this cafe is a treat too. Highly rcommended, James Joyce would approve!

A must-visit in Pordenone! Il Posto di Follador is a fantastic spot — part bakery, part pizzeria — offering a variety of fresh, flavorful products, both sweet and savory. I tried their pizza, and it was absolutely delicious: fresh ingredients, perfectly baked, and bursting with taste. Though I didn’t try the sweets this time, they looked just as tempting. The place is bustling with loyal customers, and the staff couldn’t be kinder. Sarah, in particular, was incredibly helpful, guiding me through the menu and making excellent suggestions. I also had a local, non-alcoholic drink they recommended, which paired wonderfully with the pizza. The ambience is clean, lively, and welcoming — the perfect spot for a casual meal or a quick bite. I’ll definitely make a point to come back next time I’m in Pordenone!

This is very nice place. We usually go there late morning on weekends, and it’s usually crowded. They are very generous with the Nutella in their brioche (croissants), and that’s why I like them. Their coffee is also great. Some of them speak English, and some of them don’t.

Nestled in the heart of Trieste, Pasticceria da Ily is a delightful gluten-free patisserie that caters to those with dietary restrictions, including lactose intolerance and vegan preferences. This charming bakery is a true haven for anyone avoiding wheat flour, offering an impressive array of pastries made from rice, almond, and corn flours. The selection includes mouthwatering mini tarts filled with pistachios, blueberries, mangoes, and passion fruit—each bite bursting with flavor.
Delicious coffee, cake and panini (vegan and caprese)! And they’re pet friendly, too! The bread was perfectly balanced—crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside— which can be difficult to achieve with gluten-free breads. The apple cake was lovely and soft, too! We’ll definitely come back again. Grazie!

Perfect place for gluten free products! They have gf beer, tramezzini, foccaccie, sandwiches, all kinds of bread, cookies and pastries!! Its just heaven! They have a great gf lunch menu and great coffee as well! Loved the foccaccia with pistacchio and the tramezzino with gorgonzola/crudo and the one with prawns! So moist! So soft! not to mention the donut with cream..heaven! Love this place! Grazie! <3

I had a wonderful experience at this charming café. The staff were polite and welcoming. Their croissants, mini pizza's, macaroni—absolutely stunning! The croissants had chocolate and fruity filling which complete flavour of the dough, while the macaroni was delicate, creamy, and full of flavor. Mini pizza was soft and fluffy with generous amount of cheese. It’s rare to find a place that gets both sweet and savory so right. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a cozy spot with top-notch service and delicious food.

Pizza, sandwiches, sweets, desserts, cakes, bread, mixed cold cuts, cheese and much more strictly GLUTEN FREE. Kind and professional staff. I suggest in particular the strudel. Very good Italian coffee (espresso). Indoor and outdoor tables and take away. Quiet and elegant environment.
Valerio M — Google review
Sadly didn’t taste like what you would expect a croissant to a taste like. Wasn’t soft, airy or buttery but harsh and a strange taste. I chose Pistachio of which there was a lot of chocolate, to make up for the lack of croissant quality. Sorry, the venue was a little too pink and instagrammy for my liking. Personally should’ve turned when I saw that.
Grainne B — Google review
I had been looking forward to visiting this bakery for days. I really want to give it a higher rating but the food was just disappointing. I ordered a vegan sandwich but the focaccia was rock hard-I couldn’t even eat it. I think they also tried to warm it up, but only 1/3 of the sandwich was actually warm, the rest was “fridge cold”. The chocolate cake I got was ok, nothing remarkable. My husband’s sandwich was also very crunchy. The strudel was probably one of the better items we ordered. I often feel that GF bakeries with too many items struggle to do well in quality control. Either things get stale/old or they are just trying to do too much and I suspect that is the case here. The best GF bakeries, to me, offer a handful of really good items on a rotating basis. I will say the service was great, even though they were busy.

Torta Ricotta e susine - buona :) COMUNQUE : I took a big cappuccino (which is on the menu and costs a little more than the usual cappuccino) and I still got it in an average size cup 🙂 Why do you put it on the menu and let people pay more, if you still make it a usual size cappuccino?

Here, those with gluten or lactose intolerances can indulge in an impressive array of delicious options—from mouthwatering pizzas to delectable pastries that are anything but ordinary.
I thought I am in heaven first! Such a big variety of options and all GF. Their pizzas are delicious as are most of the things I tried. I didn’t particularly liked the croissant as I found the filo pastry to be too thick to my taste. But other sweets (and pizza) - very delicious! They also have good variety of dairy free options. Please note that if you also have allergy to almond the place uses almond milk as a vegetable alternative in their non-dairy pastries. So if you have a strong almond allergy sadly this place won’t suite you. Otherwise - go and feel in heaven!

(Translated by Google) A journey into the taste of the tradition of real Friulian bread. The Jordan Bakery in Capriva del Friuli is a real institution for lovers of artisanal bread COOKED IN A WOOD OVEN and homemade desserts. Every bite is a dive into tradition, an experience that involves all the senses. I had the pleasure of tasting several specialties and I must say that I was enchanted. Horseshoe biscuits are a real delight: the crumbly shortcrust pastry, the characteristic shape and the high quality dark chocolate create a perfect combination. You can feel that they are prepared with an ancient recipe, handed down from generation to generation. Pizzas cooked in a wood oven are an explosion of flavours. The dough is light and digestible, the crust is crunchy and the sauce is always fresh and genuine. I've tried different variations, but my favorite remains the classic one with tomato, mozzarella and basil. The panzerotti prepared once a week are another specialty that you cannot miss. The filling is always different and surprises with its variety and originality. And what about leavened desserts? The gubana and sweet focaccia are prepared according to traditional recipes and melt in your mouth. Gubana, in particular, is a very rich and caloric dessert, but absolutely irresistible. I also really appreciated the pact bread prepared with zero kilometer flour. It is a tasty and nutritious bread, perfect for accompanying local cured meats and cheeses. During Lent, I tried the pan pizza with leeks and anchovies. It is a specialty that surprised me with its delicacy and its unusual flavour. The Jordan Bakery is a place where passion for food combines with craftsmanship. The staff is always friendly and available to recommend the best products. If you are looking for an authentic dining experience, I highly recommend paying a visit to Jordan's Bakery. You won't regret it! In summary: * Pros: High quality artisanal products, wide selection of breads and pastries, friendly staff. * Recommended for: Lovers of good old-fashioned artisan bread, homemade desserts and traditional cuisine.

"This is a truly lovely restaurant with a very cozy outdoor seating area, perfect for relaxing. We tried everything from the menu and were delighted. The toast and cake were delicious, but the little homemade cakes were the absolute highlight—you can tell how much love went into them. The coffee and ice cream were also excellent. The staff were very attentive and friendly, which made the visit absolutely perfect. We'll definitely be back!" Excellent 🫶

We sat outside, the day was pleasant, in the shade of a cypress tree next to a meadow full of spring flowers. A beautiful Caffe with a view of the Basillica. Superb, creamy, real Italian espresso, you can't miss it. Desserts are not only pleasing to the eye, but also taste fantastic. We ate an apple cake with a special filling. Toast and sandwich correct, prices affordable.

Normally I never write bad reviews but today’s encounter at this place had me at lost for words…I know I shouldn’t have brought in a cannolo from another shop, but I still ordered and paid for my coffee without issue. Instead of addressing it calmly, the owner/worker there(not sure?)chose to gossip about me in Italian and later confronted me with passive-aggressive and verbally hostile remarks. It felt unprofessional and unnecessary, especially from someone representing the business. Perhaps focusing more on improving attitude would be better for customers and I hope she remembers me every time she sees a cannolo.”

Nestled in the heart of Pordenone, Pasticceria Cossetti is a must-visit for anyone with a sweet tooth. This charming pastry shop specializes in authentic southern Italian delights, particularly Neapolitan and Campanian treats. On Saturday mornings, it buzzes with energy as locals flock to enjoy their delectable offerings—be prepared for a lively atmosphere! If you prefer to savor these pastries at home or share them with friends, take-out options are available.
Simply the best pastry shop in the Pordenone area. They make typical authentic southern Italian pastries. Saturdays mornings are almost always packed due to the Pordenone markets going on. If you decide to try it on Saturday then be prepared to wait a long time for a seat or either stand at the bar. They also prepare their items for take-out so I recommend that especially so you can share some very delicious pastries with your friends. The coffee is also very good, I would recommend a nice cappuccino with a large canoli ( they make them Sicilian style).

Nestled near the iconic Ponte del Diavolo, Panificio Pasticceria is a delightful gem that beckons pastry lovers with its array of traditional Friulian treats. As you step inside, you're greeted by an inviting atmosphere and a display brimming with mouthwatering delicacies. One must-try is the gubanetta Cividalese—a charming spiral of puff pastry filled with rich ingredients reminiscent of its larger counterpart, the gubana Cividalese.
While walking through downtown Cividale, we stumbled upon a pastry shop window filled with the most delicious-looking strucchi. We had no idea what they were, but they looked too good to pass up—so we went inside and got half a kilo! While we were there, we also picked up a ciambella and a krapfen. OMG—the krapfen was the best one I’ve ever had in my life! It was so good we had to go back in and get another one! The lovely girl who helped us said the strucchi would last 2–3 months… Well, guess what? They were gone in 5 minutes! Everyone in the family devoured them. It was an unforgettable discovery. If you’re in Cividale, this place is an absolute must-stop!

Food: fine pastries, very delicious, portion size goes well with coffee. Coffee is OK as well and pretty cheap. Service: very friendly, foreign languages (German, English) spoken as well. Atmosphere: nice little pastry bar, nothing special, but nicely decorated.

In a very cramped space, they managed to fit a bakery that everyone wants to go to in the morning! Wonderful coffee, very tasty sweet treats. If I had anything to complain about, some salad goodies would also come in handy. For example, sandwiches or something like that. However, a great stop for us and we can only recommend it.

The best bakery and croissant/ pastry experience in Italy 🥰 So good we cycled 100km twice just to have coffee and croissants here. The Italian hustle and bustle can be alarming for a non Italian but only added to the experience as locals jumped infront of me as I tried to understand the ordering process. The kinder croissant I am still dreaming about. And the little pistachio pastry’s. Perfection.
Grainne B — Google review
It's a great place for a small breakfast where a lot of local people come to buy baked goods or drink coffee. You can eat here salty things like pizza, focaccia or toast with cheese and ham (optional) or you can choose from a variety of sweat things - so it's a topical Italian breakfast. That's why you shouldn't expect full service breakfast with eggs, vegetables etc. There is also a big choice of good Italian coffee. It is a small place so sometimes it may be hard to find a place to sit but you can also buy and they with you. There are some vegetarian options. The place has a really great atmosphere of a small local bakery where everybody is super kind and smiling, that was the thing that I liked the most about this place. I really recommend it!

(Translated by Google) Delicious desserts, tried almost everything, and of course incredible coffee - rich and aromatic. In the morning it is very noisy and there are queues at the counter due to the number of guests, but this only indicates the popularity of the establishment. (Translated by Google) I went this morning to get some bread and a cake. Total disorganization. 4/5 clerks behind the counter, chaos and disregard for the customer reigned. While I was talking, the clerk was annoyed, and there was no appropriate response to my requests; it was clear she was only half-listening. Bottom line: I paid more than I should have because I didn't get a response on the cost of a cake, and in my haste, I gave up and got it anyway. Plus, if they had been good products, I would have been fine, but no, not even that. I got home, tasted the bread, and it seemed days old, the tongs were so dry they were hard to swallow. Go elsewhere. Andate altrove.

Absolutely the top pastry and breakfast place in the Roveredo/Aviano area. The pastries are the top, and they serve an English style breakfast with eggs, beans, sausage, bacon, and German style bratwurst. Freshly squeezed blood orange juice is a must. The American style coffee is the only drawback as it is done as espresso with water alla italian style. Place was winners of the Italian cake star TV series.

The owner and staff are truly amazing—so friendly and attentive. They go out of their way to ensure that every customer feels valued and appreciated, which really sets this place apart. One of the standout features for me is their early opening time at 6:00 AM. As someone who starts work early, it's such a blessing to have a spot like this that caters to early risers. Whether I’m grabbing a coffee to go or sitting down for a quick breakfast, I always feel energized and ready to tackle the day after visiting. The menu is fantastic, offering a variety of delicious options that cater to all tastes. Each dish is made with high-quality ingredients, and you can taste the care that goes into every bite. It’s evident that the staff takes pride in what they do, and it shows in the consistency and quality of the food.Overall, I can’t recommend this place enough! (Translated by Google) Terrible experience, unfortunately. I had ordered a cake design cake for an important occasion, providing detailed photos and clear instructions. The result? A disappointment. 1. Wrapped cake, with no possibility of checking When I picked it up, the cake was delivered to me already wrapped in simple pastry paper, not even inserted in a normal cake box. An absurd practice: how can you take away a cake without even being able to see it first? Considering how precarious the wrapping was, I would have expected at least that I would be offered help to load it into the car. Instead, it was simply handed to me, without any attention or offer of assistance. At least a small gesture would have made the difference. 2. Nothing corresponded to what was ordered I had provided the exact photos of the cake I wanted, specifying proportions and colors. The result had nothing to do with it: completely disproportionate characters, wrong colors, overlooked details. I had also shown a similar cake made years ago to better understand... useless. 3. “Fake” cake with styrofoam I was offered a cake for 14 people, but when I cut it I discovered with great disappointment that most of the structure was made of styrofoam. In fact, the edible part was for no more than 8 people. I would have preferred more transparent communication from the beginning. Too bad, because I expected something completely different. 4. Writings printed on white office paper The most incredible thing? The writings and symbols requested were simple SHEETS of office paper printed in black and white, STICKED ONTO the cake! Not in sugar, not edible, simple A4 sheets cut out (and even a symbol was glued on backwards). Are you kidding me? It's shameful, something I could have made at home with a printer. I've never asked for something like this, never seen a cake made like this! 5. I paid for an embarrassing result Considering a price that was still high, as it should be for a designer cake, I would have expected a minimum of professionalism. Instead, I was given a cake that I don't even have the words to describe. 6. Terrible communication No willingness to discuss, no explanation, just coldness and zero assumption of responsibility. I had requested a specific designer cake and it was not made as requested. It would have been more honest to immediately communicate the impossibility of satisfying my request, instead of making me travel 4 hours for nothing. Disappointed and bitter. 7. Sincere advice: CLOSE the cake design section. The photos they publish on Facebook show beautiful cakes, but mine was a real disappointment, horrible. Old place, managed by people who are evidently not up to date either technically or in mentality. I will not return and I will not recommend it to anyone. I was shocked. It was a profound disappointment, and honestly... a shame. In conclusion, I am sorry to have to write a negative review, but when you commission a personalized cake — for an important event — you expect professionalism, care and respect for requests. In this case, I received exactly the opposite. (Original) Esperienza pessima, purtroppo.

During our vacation in Trieste, we stumbled upon Pasticceria Giorgi, a well-maintained pastry shop located in the city center. Although it seems to be primarily a take-away establishment with no seating, the desserts on offer are delectable. While we expected them to have a stronger flavor profile, they still manage to satisfy our sweet tooth. (Translated by Google) I found this place totally by chance on a Sunday afternoon when everything else was closed and I must say that it was an absolute discovery because once you cross that front door it seems like you're entering a little fairy-tale corner. The atmosphere is that of having a tea break in a fairy tale or in any case doing it together with a person you already know in a welcoming family living room. The lady was very kind right from the start to explain to me that her products are made with very refined raw materials and she was keen to underline how healthy eating and food guidelines are the cornerstones of her pastry shop; in fact, the products are totally low-carb and gluten-free, in fact she is followed by her son, a nutritionist, who accompanies her on this fairytale journey. Everything is very homely in fact there are a few tables for service inside so you can enjoy that tea break in total tranquility almost as if you were at home. The products are all displayed inside well-ordered glass containers and while the lady explains how that product is created, the customer can admire everything in a very warm atmosphere. I took a tray of desserts which included a chocolate muffin with hazelnut cream and one with a sort of orange icing which were nothing short of spectacular: soft, fluffy and above all you feel like you are eating a healthy, homemade product, nothing fancy. sophisticated or industrial; some blackberry and apricot tarts that had an exceptional pastry: soft, tender, citrusy, light and crumbly and not to mention the jam that felt like it was homemade, fresh and genuine. I also enjoyed some biscuits made of shortcrust pastry and a freshly prepared coffee served in typically fairy-tale cups. I was also amazed by the courtesy and kindness of the lady herself, as well as the owner of the place, and how she wanted to make known the genuineness of her products, something that is now somewhat overlooked. Obviously the price is directly proportional to what you are consuming therefore quality products = high price and rightly so. A tray of 5 sweets, two loose sweets, a coffee and a bag of shortbread biscuits €30 but with the kindness of the lady the coffee was offered to me. A place that is definitely worth it and that should be tried at least once to spend a moment of serenity in a fairy-tale environment. I will definitely return with pleasure, 5 stars more than deserved.

They need to fire at least 2 of their snooty, self-important serving staff (1 serves outside, the other inside, both women). Similar experience as another reviewer Antonella Verardo (once, I sat outside once for 15 minutes, no one came, yet they served at least a dozen people inside that I counted during this time AND the outside server sauntered right by me, just having delivered coffee etc. across the street and went inside to do what, I do not know for the last 5 of those 15 minutes, after that I just left). Their pastries are over priced and average. 5 Star ratings here for Diana - La Pasticceria have to be FAKE (probably by staff or their friends or people that do not get out much). Gone to this place at least 4 times, same story. Never had a tiff with them if you are wondering, it's just a recollection of their service & product. (Translated by Google) Today I went to this bakery, I asked for 5 mignon, they had 11 types of slightly messy mignon, I asked the lady what this was and she replied by saying that her colleagues didn't inform her what that new mignon was. Starting from this we are not off to a good start. Then I take it away and find a hair inside 🤮. The diplomat is made only of very wet sponge cake and puff pastry without a minimum of cream. The very dry cream puffs, the only saveable one is the red velvet which I can define as good. Quality of food is really good. Ofcourse, its the staff who are responsible for our next visit. Atleast for me, it's important that the staff be good to us. They seemed not welcoming towards the foreigners. They didn't even care when it was our turn even after waiting for a while in the queue. They were concerned about the person after us. I wouldn't visit again for sure.
