Pizza Takeout
Two Magpies Bakery is a popular spot in Southwold, known for its award-winning Southwold Blend coffee and traditional festive treats. The bakery has expanded to multiple locations across East Anglia due to its success, offering a variety of delicious baked goods. In addition to their renowned coffee, they also serve up delectable pizzas such as the Lombardy and classic margherita.
Amazing bakery! We got a special birthday cake from here - it was so easy to order and collect and it was so delicious! Thank you. Also, best almond croissants we’ve ever had!
Grace P — Google review
An amazing bakery! Wow, The food was very nice the plain and chocolate croissants were gorgeous. The rocky roads so nice, I just think everything in that bakery was amazing. Why did I choose 4 stars? It’s a lovely bakery but my one main concern is the food being displayed with the door open. I got a bit cautious with this because through the window there were a load of flies on the food don’t know if there there for display and then they get them fresh? But other than that a gorgeous bakery.🎂🍰🍪🍩
Finley K — Google review
We got some cakes to take away (2 cinnamon buns and a lemon & raspberry bakewell slice). These were absolutely unreal! Really friendly service too. We may have also purchased a brownie, a giant cookie and an Eccles cake to eat later 🤣 everything looked so good and we will definitely return! Thanks!
Judy H — Google review
Stopped by for some sweet treats during a day in Southwold. Bought a slice of carrot and walnut cake and a dark chocolate cookie. Both were delicious! The carrot and walnut cake was to die for, we wish we had gone back to get more before heading home. Lovely friendly staff and dog friendly cafe.
Jessica H — Google review
Two Magpies Bakery looks very stylish from the outside and the selection of baked goodies in the window is intoxicating! Service was fast and friendly. Prices are not cheap but represent good value. They serve coffee and hot drinks and sell tins of pop too. There weren’t pizzas being sold at the time I was visiting but the flavours sounded good. Huge array of pastries and cakes to choose from. I had a very nice hummus and roasted pepper sandwich and a fine cinnamon roll. Would come back for sure.

Phenomenal!!! Never go anywhere else when we’re on our holibobs in Southwold. Staff are so friendly, and always smile. They actually seem to want to be there!! Coffee is lovely too. Never mind a queue at 8am when things are this good. On our last day (22nd Aug) the Croissants were a little too well cooked and were a lot more flakey than normal and were a little darker than expected but still really tasty!! We’ll be back 😎😎
Hugo S — Google review
Some of the best pastries I have tasted outside of France! We came at the end of the day so we were given a few extra that they had left over which was a lovely treat. The sausage roll and the Moroccan vegetarian one were absolutely delicious. Cannot recommend this place more!

I cannot be in Southwold without calling in here and making a purchase. From luscious lattes, to scrumptious croissants, and ever so polite staff

Bakery
Pump Street Bakery, nestled in the charming coastal village of Orford, is a must-visit destination on The Suffolk Coast. This renowned bakery takes pride in its exceptional bread and handcrafted pastries, all freshly made daily within the village. Visitors can savor these delectable treats in the cozy cafe, where they are also treated to locally sourced seasonal fare and top-quality artisanal tea and coffee.
Stumbled across this little bakery on the way to the castle, it is an absolute local gem. We arrived as doors opened at 10am which was needed as there was a queue of people! We bought an assortment of pastries, bear claw, rhubarb donut, custard donut, pain au chocolate, ham and cheese croissant, chocolate chip cookie and a large white sourdough loaf. Along with both the 70 and 80% hot chocolate and a flat white, the drinks came with little gingerbread stars. There were so many wonderful options and they were all high quality. The donuts had a good jam to dough ratio and weren’t oily, the croissants were flakey and buttery and the chocolate was high quality. There is a small area to sit inside along with a few tables and benches outside. The set up allows for you to see the baked goods before you reach the till. If you order a drink the barista section is in the second room which helps not to block the queue. If you are eating in the bring the drink to your table and if you are taking away you wait outside for your drink and they pass it through the window (which I personally thought was very charming, and helpful for people with multiple dogs). They also have their own chocolate brand, some minis are available to buy here, if you would like to try more their chocolate shop if across the road. The man serving here was very knowledgeable and told us a little bit of the background of the shop and details of each other chocolates we picked.
U V — Google review
Brilliant bakery, with a very limited amount of seating. Excellent teas and coffee. The cinnamon buns are to die for!
Ronnie A — Google review
Excellent baked goods with its own chocolate shop opposite. The rhubarb donut is fantastic

Nice pastries and good vibes, very cozy

A fantastic bakery that also has tables for eating and drinking. The most delicious pain au chocolat and Monmouth coffee. Friendly service and very pleasant atmosphere with a wood burning stove for warmth. Great selection of breads.
Stuart W — Google review
Great bakery lovely food really good here and very well priced
El O — Google review
Hidden gem. Visited on a wonderfully sunny day. So much choice had a hard time choosing just one thing. The softest cinnamon bun I’ve ever had. Would come back to Orford just for this.
Emmanuel O — Google review
Overpriced and a cold experience. On a Sunday outing we came to Orford and dined in at the Pump Street Bakery. We ordered two vegetable tarts and a hot chocolate. The man serving us mentioned about their homemade marshmallows to have with the hot chocolate. While I was asking my wife if we'd have them with it, he said "you're having one, they're really good" and proceeded to make up the bill and charge for the marshmallow. The bill was really expensive especially for two tarts which came cold and a rather mediocre hot chocolate. You don't get value for money, we found it to be pretentious. You pay extra to dine in but you might as well have been outside as the windows and doors were open in the small seating area on a cold day. Overall not a great experience and we won't be going back there.

Bakery
The Cornish Bakery is a charming spot located in the heart of Southwold, a popular destination for both locals and visitors. The bakery offers a delectable array of treats including focaccia, savory scones, and traditional Cornish pasties. Upon entering, guests are greeted by the inviting aroma of freshly baked goods in a rustic yet cozy setting with wooden accents and comfortable seating.
Popped in for a quick bite. I had a traditional Cornish Pasty and it was lovely, I could have eaten another easily and probably should have taken a couple to go for later. Together with a can of Cornish Cola, which was refreshing, I had a lovely snack that kept me going until dinner time.

Lucky they got one star! Visited this week. The place was filthy, crumbs all over the floor and tables dirty, cleaned ours myself and the wipe was disgusting afterwards. We were greeted by a woman who's first words were 'I'm on my own when these girls leave off soon so if you want to eat in, you'll have to eat out of a paper bag, no plates'. Nice! And I had to pay extra for the privilege! Safe to say I will never return to eat in there. The pasty however was lovely. They need more staff, and polite ones at that. Listening to other conversations in there, we weren't the only ones unhappy. Sort it out Guys!!!

Here we have a lovely little cafe on the main high street in Southwold. There are indoor and outdoor tables and dog friendly. Very nice selection of cakes and excellent coffee to be had. Toilet facilities available and disabled friendly Parking outside not possible due to restrictions however at the rear of the building in Victoria street one or two spots to park for a while
William D — Google review
Have been coming for years. As soon as they saw the pram they told us to leave or go to the garden. The gate wasn't open. Incredibly dismissive. Lack of listening skills and basic human skills. Normally all the staff so helpful. But not this time sadly. Sad to see one of my favourite places go downhill.
Katie E — Google review
I popped in a couple of times last week because i was so impressed with the food quality and friendliness of the staff. Lovely atmosphere and a good range of cakes, pasties and pastries to choose from. Hayley i think her name was served me and she seemed very enthusiastic and jolly which was nice to see which she obviously enjoys her work. She is a credit to the team and deserves a pay rise! The pain au chocolate was tasty and delicious definitely recommend! Will be coming back again for sure :)
Treenaxx — Google review
I thoroughly enjoyed a delicious and moist Cornish pasty alongside a succulently sweet cinnamon swirl here. Service was quick and the staff were attentive and friendly. Not much more to say.

The best Cornish pasty I have had. Also great vegan choices. The pastries are delicious and the coffee excellent. The staff are very friendly and helpful and they allow dogs

Bakery
E5 Bakehouse is an artisan bakery and cafe in Hackney with a strong community focus. It started as a supplier of excellent loaves and has now expanded to offer mouthwatering brunches, organic lunches, and a variety of sweet and savory treats. The bakery's commitment to sustainability is evident in its use of fresh produce from its Suffolk farm, including organically grown wheat processed in its own stone mill.
I had an amazing time at the sourdough bread course at e5 Bakehouse last Saturday. It was a beautiful day, and the whole experience was inspiring from start to finish. Alex, our teacher, was fantastic—so enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about his craft. He made the learning process fun, clear, and really engaging. The rest of the team was just as warm and welcoming, creating a great atmosphere throughout the day. I learned so much and left with new skills, more confidence, and, of course, lots of bread! Highly recommend this course to anyone curious about baking or just looking for a special and enjoyable experience in London.
Davide G — Google review
The place is quite nice with a supermarket corner and some fresh pastries. It looked appealing and there was an outdoor area too. The queuing wasn't clear and chaotic with lots of people. We had coffees and pastries (brownie and almond chocolate cakes). Coffees were okay but pastries very average, though all quite pricey. There are few tables inside but they were dirty as the place is very busy.
Cyrielle A — Google review
First time coming here and loved the space. Great selection of bread and cakes as well as drinks. I ordered a BLT and a slice of their danish which tasted great! They have outdoor and indoor seating. I had a lovely time catching up with a friend here for a few hours, staff were very attentive and quick to clear up empty plates. Laptop friendly environment, would definitely love to come back on my own and do some work.
Bee L — Google review
This is one of east London's most popular artisan bakeries, located right next to the entrance of London Fields train station. There is only a small sign to let people know that it's there. But once inside, it's like doctor who's TARDIS, bigger on the inside! I paid a visit early on Saturday morning, and it was bustling. Despite being located only a 5-minute walk from Broadway market I would think that this place gets very busy about Saturday lunchtime to afternoon. This place also roasts it own coffee, hence my interest. Prices are par for the course for an artisan bakery in London. I had a pain au chocolate and a flat white, both were excellent. Competition for artisan coffee in this part of London is tough, it has to be good and it most certainly is. Recommended by myself.
Mike — Google review
Loved the feel of the place and how it has a mini market. Very spacious and clean bathrooms if i may add. Delicious coffee didn't like the cookie they braged about, was kinda dry for me. Will definitely try other things if I ever was in the area again
S ( — Google review
Holy cow this was good!! I had the fried egg & halloumi bun, as well as a corn madeline/scone thing. The bun was yummm — super tasty bread with just the right balance of sweet/savoury/umami. I had the corn snack a little later and it really threw me off: moist inside but with a satisfying crust. Would 100% return, this time with an empty stomach and some grocery bags.
Min — Google review
Excellent place where they make their own bread starting from the wheat with a mini mill, we ordered sandwiches and soups, there was a lot of space outside.
Diego C — Google review
We went on a Saturday morning and didn’t have to wait long. There’s a good range of brunch options, the halloumi and egg bun was bigger than we expected so definitely worth the price and tasted great. The wild garlic swirl was also really good but tasted more pesto than garlic. Also took away a lime twist which had a good citrus-y flavour and the pastry was soft and flaky with a nice crunch to it on the outside although, it got a bit sweet after a few bites

Bakery
Fortitude Bakehouse offers a variety of baked goods such as bread, buns, cake, and coffee. Their sourdough loaves have a perfect balance of chewiness and tanginess, while their sticky buns are light and sweet. The cakes are also made from sourdough and fall somewhere in between. What sets this bakery apart is that all their cakes use either sourdough starters or fermented batters.
During my vacation in London I visited this bakery twice. Everything was great. The smell from bakery was awsome. Firstly I tasted hazelnut-chocolate pain suise with mocha cappuccino and it was great. The dough was crispy and pastry was well balanced. Ialso took berber omelette. Services was nice and helpful. It was friendly talk with the ladies. It could be better if will be there cozy inside sitting place in the future. Second visit was also very good experience. I tasted morning bun with blueberries and vanilla cream and I took matcha latte. Great combination. Nice latte art. Bun was full of filling (it could be more baked for me, but it is not necesary). Both visit were perfect start of the day. I am looking forward to next visit sometimes in the future.
Michal D — Google review
Stopped here somewhat recently on a whim. Super busy! They have a really great selection available - We both had one of the beignets, which were very tasty but I think they could've been a bit more generous with the toppings for the price, service was quick and friendly, will definitely be back again if we're in the area.
Will — Google review
Fortitude Bakery is such a gem. Everything here tastes like it’s made with real love and quality ingredients. The pastries are flaky and fresh, but what really surprised me were the sandwiches — especially the chicken harissa. It’s bursting with flavor and perfectly balanced. You can taste the freshness in every bite, and the staff is genuinely friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere makes it easy to linger over coffee or lunch. Definitely a must-visit when you’re in town.
Christy — Google review
I recently visited this bakery and was genuinely impressed by several of their pastries and drinks. I highly recommend the Hazelnut & Chocolate Custard pan suisse, which is rich, flaky, and layered with a perfect balance of nutty sweetness and silky chocolate. The Cinnamon & Stick Bun is another standout—warm, aromatic, and wonderfully comforting without being overly sweet. My favorite pastry might have been the Baked Plum Danish with Orange Custard Hazelnut crumb; the tart plum, bright citrus custard, and subtle hazelnut come together beautifully for a pastry that’s both unique and incredibly flavorful. However, the Blackberry Cinnamon Cream Beignet was a miss for me. The flavor combination didn’t come together well, and it was much too creamy, to the point where I couldn’t finish it. On the drink side, you should definitely try the Apple Matcha Latte. It’s absolutely delicious—refreshing, balanced, and surprisingly harmonious. I also tried the Chicken Harissa Baguette, which was flavorful and satisfying, making it a solid savory option worth ordering. Steaming outside only though
Ebaa A — Google review
Had been meaning to visit on a couple of previous London visits, having seen a lot about it online, and came here for some breakfast. Sure it's not the cheapest place you'll find and there will likely be a queue out the door for service, but I think it was worth it. A wide selection of sweet and savory to choose from. Tried the Almond Croissant and the Apple Custard Hand Pie. Both were delicious. Forget trying to eat without dropping any though, the flaky pastry is that flaky. The local pigeons clearly know this as well and were quickly on hand to pick the floor clean again. There was a wait for service, but the staff behind the counter were well organized and getting through as quickly as they could. Marked down one point for atmosphere. Plain wooden benches on the street outside might not be to everyone's liking, but to me just added to the experience.
Mark D — Google review
Fortitude Bakehouse Review: Coffee and Pastries Shine My recent visit to Fortitude Bakehouse was a mix of highs and one small low, but the exceptional quality of the baked goods certainly won me over. The coffee was lovely—perfectly brewed and exactly what I needed. The pastries were the real highlight, though! I ordered what I believe was the beignet (as pictured, dusted with cocoa/sugar), and it was absolutely delicious—light, airy, and a true indulgence. The standard of the baking here is clearly top-tier. On the service side, the young lady who served me was a little short and seemed a bit rude. I'm going to chalk it up to her having an off day, as we all have those moments. Hopefully, her day got better! Overall, if you're looking for outstanding pastries and coffee in London, Fortitude is a must-visit. The quality of the food and drink makes it worth overlooking the minor service issue.

Hidden away in a quiet passage, this little shop quickly became a favourite of mine. The staff are incredibly friendly and I loved the impressive range of pastries, with choices for both sweet and savoury moods. The first time I visited, I chose a feta and spinach pastry alongside a cinnamon bun — both were absolutely delicious. The experience was so enjoyable that I returned the next day and got a morning bun, which pleasantly surprised me with its subtle sweetness and light texture. I also tried two different coffees on my visits, and both were excellent — Very rich and the ideal companion to my pastries.
Karolin M — Google review
We had a Mocha Cream and Cherry Beignet. The buns were fresh and cream nice and fluffy. Not too - just the right amount. Really enjoyed it and will return. The seating outside is convenient and much needed. Definitely have the beignets, I will try other things next time.

Pophams is a patisserie known for its traditional and innovative croissants and baked goods, including weekend specials. The bakery has expanded its menu to include items like sourdough cheese toasties and artisan pasta. While the physical stores have closed, Pophams now offers delivery of pasta, sauces, bread, pastries, and cheese within a one-mile radius of London Fields. A portion of the proceeds from orders goes to support a local community food kitchen.
Lovely bakery with loads of outdoor seating on a peaceful street with a beautiful homegoods and pantry store next to the bakery. Highly recommend ham and cheese croissant and the cardamom bun. Bottled green juice was also excellent.
Maria Y — Google review
Now I get why people keep saying that Pophams is the best bakery in London. I tried the bacon and maple syrup bun and it tasted amazing, very balanced sweet and savoury. I also had an almond croissant that had a more particular taste but you can tell everything is fresh baked. There’s always a queque in the morning but it’s moving fast. The only thing I find quite stressful is that you have to order at the counter and then you don’t know if you’re going to find a table, if you go alone. I really want to go back next time I’m in London and try more pastries.
María T — Google review
This place is quite famous and happens to be close to my office. Really lovely environment with both indoor and outdoor seating — you can choose whatever you feel like! Their pastries are exceptional and huge! This is exactly what we all look for when it comes to delicious pastries, isn’t it? This is my second visit, and after checking the reviews, I decided to try the Bacon & Maple one since it seemed quite popular — and yes, it was absolutely delicious! The pastry was crispy yet moist from the maple syrup, not too sweet, and perfectly balanced with the bacon, which wasn’t too salty either. The sweet-and-savoury combo just made me keep eating! The croissant was also really good — fluffy and buttery — and the flan had a unique flavour, maybe dark sugar or malt? They also offer unlimited water, which is great for people like me who don’t drink coffee or tea. Definitely recommended, and I’ll be back again soon!
Michel M — Google review
The place has a really nice vibe and the service was very good. The highlight of the visit was definitely the pastry. We had the maple and bacon swirl and it was out of this world! The best pastry I’ve ever had. Definitely recommend getting it warmed up as well. The coffee was also very good. Will definitely come back :)
Adriana N — Google review
Great on a sunny day as there is lots of outdoor seating. We ordered the sweetcorn chowder which was served super hot with tangy fresh sourdough, the bacon maple swirl, this was nice but was expensive! My almond croissant was well filled and not too sweet but a little over cooked. For two coffees and the food it cost £27. We came on a Friday to a full cafe but we could get a table straight away.
Lily G — Google review
Highly recommend Pophams! I came here on my travels looking to try pastries in the UK and this was definitely the top place. We had the maple and bacon pastry. Was delicious, temperature was perfect, and was baked so well. Service was very friendly and really enjoyed the atmosphere as it was a chill and relaxing vibe. I also really liked how their menu showed which were vegan, and had nuts in it.
Devin V — Google review
Long queue on a Sunday brunch - same queue regardless of takeaway or dine in. Found a nice spot facing out, ordered the yoghurt with granola and portion was quite small for the price. Yoghurt also had a strange cream texture, still good. The classic parmesan twist was crispy and savoury. Cardamom bun was perfectly crispy with the savoury cinnamon flavor.
Tan M — Google review
The best pastries I’ve ever had in my life and this is not an exaggeration. The maple and bacon bun is so interesting and full of flavour, the coffee is incredible and I’ve come back to have the cardamom bun again and to share it with my mom and she loved it to. The lamination, the caramelised outside of the pastry, the butteriness, the salt levels and the rich cardamom flavour. It’s just perfect. Their coffee was also incredible. Would give it 1000/5 if I could. Will come back again, 100%.

Bakery
Nestled in the heart of Norwich on Gloucester Street, Dozen Artisan Bakery is a haven for bread and pastry lovers alike. This charming bakery offers an impressive array of baked goods, including all-butter croissants, delectable pastries, tarts, cakes, and even savory options like sausage rolls.
My absolute favourite bakery in the area. I always go for a cinnamon pastry, which is the best I've had, maybe ever, but definitely in Norwich. Light, crispy and flavourful! I've read some reviews saying that the sourdough is under baked but this hasn't been my experience. It's always been wonderfully crisp on the outside and moist without being dense on the inside. The bonus of the loaf being so moist is that it keeps and freezes well. You can also buy a half loaf, which is so handy. Lots of other tasty products too. Service has always been helpful and friendly. The only downside is the limited opening times, which mean I end up going to my second choice bakery Bread Source more often.
Ria S — Google review
This place has been recommended to me a lot and I can see why. Fresh daily baked goods, sweet, savoury and the staple of many that is bread. They also have a selection of deli numbers, chutnies, oils, particular meats and a nice selection of liquids down to kombucha and filter coffee which is my cryptonite and brewed beautifully. I was going to take snaps of my hefty slice of pizza and rye brownie but my mouth beat me to it. Jamie approved

Amazing bakery. Open a few days a week. This will be my goto for croissants, breads and other baked goods.

Loved the kimchi cheese croissant ❤️
Emmanuella A — Google review
Inconsistency with the quality of the bread. Been twice, today sourdough didn't rise? Both days nice crust but inside was very moist, gooey and sticky, hard to cut into slices see picture attached. Seems undercooked or maybe under fermented but I'm not the expert.

Passing this place last week was a momentarily shocking experience. For I never imagined I would see, middle class folk, queuing placidly in the rain for bread. Foolishly I thought this necessity to queue for a staple like bread, was the result of climate change, or the vagaries of a hard Brexit and i felt my ego swell with a glorious narcissistic rage, and an urge to join the gilded folk of the golden triangle in forming a vegan-workers cooperative for the protection of our inalienable right to subsidised bread. Fortunately, I learned quickly that in the lamentable absence of a nearby Waitrose, this little bakery was courageously making up for the lack with excellently baked bread and cakes. I joined the queue and bought an excellent loaf. It was expensive, but definitely worth it for a treat. However, when I spend a small fortune on a French Stick, I would like what I normally receive in Gregg's, the simple acknowledgement of our shared humanity: A smile. Edit: i have returned to Dozen about a dozen times since making the above observation. And on each occasion i was served by friendly, pleasant and humane member of staff. It is a wonderful bakery, one of the best in the UK, so along with the quality of the staff, a very well deserved 5 stars.

Has to be one of the best bakeries in Norfolk, not just Norwich. Delicious breads, cakes, hot cross buns and sausage rolls - plus local preserves and other delicacies. Delightful team too - always cheerful and helpful.

Bread Ahead Bakery, located in Borough Market and various other spots around London, is renowned for its fresh sourdough bread, award-winning filled doughnuts, and delectable pastries like cinnamon swirls and pistachio pains au chocolat. The bakery's iconic doughnuts are a major draw, with flavors like salted caramel and classic vanilla custard.
I had the most amazing donuts at Borough Market! The dough is wonderfully fluffy, soft, and light, yet still rich and satisfying. Each donut is filled generously with delicious cream or jam, and the flavors are varied and exciting — there’s truly something for everyone. The balance between the filling and the dough is perfect, so every bite is indulgent without being too heavy. They also sell fresh bread, which looks just as tempting. Service is quick and friendly, and it’s super convenient that you can pay by card. Definitely a must-try if you’re in the market and craving something sweet and freshly baked!

Absolutely delightful experience at Bread Ahead Bakery in Borough Market, London! The food here is simply incredible — everything from the fresh pastries to the doughnuts is heavenly. You can really taste the quality and passion in every bite. The dough is wonderfully fluffy, soft, and light, yet still rich and satisfying. Each doughnut is filled generously with delicious cream or jam, and the flavours are varied and exciting — there’s truly something for everyone. The balance between the filling and the dough is perfect, so every bite is indulgent without being too heavy. The place has such a warm and inviting vibe; it’s hard not to smile as soon as you walk in. A special shoutout to Raghu, one of the staff members — he was so friendly, patient, and helpful! He made the whole experience even better with his cheerful attitude and great recommendations. Truly an asset to the team. Highly recommend Bread Ahead to anyone who loves good food and even better service! Don’t miss their Blackcurrant Cheesecake and Crème Brûlée Doughnut — both are absolutely divine and a must-try when you visit Borough Market! ❤️🍩
Malladhi H — Google review
Their dough is very good - light and fluffy - and are packed with filling. However, was disappointed with the lack of flavour in the blackcurrant - there was no blackcurrant jam on the inside, only the bit of jam dribbled on the outside, and the cheesecake filling didn't taste like anything at all, not even vanilla. Service was also a bit rude/dismissive. There are far better doughnut spots elsewhere - would not recommend going out of your way for this one - did not live up to the hype at all getting a flavourless doughnut.
Kat — Google review
Must try doughnuts when you are I. Borough market, if you go on the weekend it’s worth going through the crowds of borough market and the queue goes very quickly. The crème Brûlée is my favourite. In addition they do amazing savoury snacks also. There big pizza slices are great for a lunch bite or a snack. The olive and cheese stick is so good and you can’t beat their sourdough bread to take away. To make it even better they offer courses to learn how to make most of the items they sell. The pizza course and sourdough classes are great and you learn so much and get to eat as you go, normally with a baked good treat as a bonus.
Amber G — Google review
The food Is delicious, the display is also fantastic. They offer courses to book online and you have the chance to see the whole bakery function at all time. All kept clean and tidy. Well done
Giuseppe C — Google review
The flavour is just not there. 12:00 on Friday (last day before half-term), and it wasn't particularly busy in comparison to the hot food stalls. I got there just before the lunch-rush. The service for selecting the doughnuts was good and friendly, but the payment section was poor. The doughnuts are selected and nicely boxed up, and placed into a pile by the cashier. The cashier then shouts out the order and the customer pays. So, the next person in line is not necessarily the next customer to pay, especially if it's the same order as someone else. They need more space to line up the orders, in order. Flavour-wise, they were disappointingly bland. I had the creme brûlée and Pistachio. The fillings in both were tasteless. I couldn't tell if it was a meringue, cream, custard, creme pâtissière, or butter based. It was just "there". I had to really think about the Pistachio and vanilla to be able to taste them. Two good things: The dough had a good texture an a nice taste; the filling wasn't too sweet, sickly, nor rich. So, I would have much preferred a plain sugar covered doughnut. I don't know if they do them, but I want to say they are £2. I can't be sure, as it wasn't on my mind when buying them.
James K — Google review
I understand the hype around this place. Soft light donut pastry, creamy, not overly sweet fillings. I wish we'd tried the creme brulee donut because it looked great but our chocolate velvet and blackcurrant cheesecake was fantastic too. Long queues that move very quickly and pricing is fair for the taste and quality. You'll be covered with sugar dusting after eating but that's part of the experience.

There's always a que at this stall. Tries their doughnuts and now I understand what the craze is about. The pistachio doughnut is amazing! One bite and the cream oozes out. Creme Brulee doughnut was also yummy!

The Dusty Knuckle Bakery is a popular spot known for its creative sandwiches, salads, and fresh breads. In addition to their renowned loaves and filled focaccia sandwiches, the bakery has expanded its offerings to include sourdough pizzas with unique twists on classic flavors. The new outpost in Harringay serves up these delectable pizzas straight from a woodfired oven, accompanied by tiramisu and beer on tap.
so yum! ive had this bakery on my radar for a while now, and it was so worth the wait to come along. whilst £11 is obviously a lot for a sandwich, you 100% get what you pay for. The homemade bread was absolutely lovely and the sandwich was packed full of flavourful filling. the atmosphere was lovely, and sitting outside was great. service was brilliant and hardly a wait for my food either. i came at about 12 o’clock and didn’t have to queue, however when i left at 12:40 there was a large queue, so definitely get there a bit earlier if you want a sandwich! they deserve the popularity though, i absolutely loved this bakery.
Marcie — Google review
Fantastic bakery! Had the green bean, tomato and whipped feta sarnie which was delicious. The fruit pastry was also brilliant. Due to its popularity it does sell out early of certain products which is the only down side
Garth S — Google review
Really liked this place - very good croissant and excellent sandwiches. I got a pork sandwich, it was Asian style so came was full of interesting flavours and the pickled carrots etc balanced the pork nicely. I would say the sandwich is on the expensive side compared to other places which is why I didn’t rate it 5 stars
Ella R — Google review
Best sandwich I’ve ever had! If you want the focaccia sandwiches then you need to come at 11:30! The till doesn’t take payments for the order unless it is exactly 11:30 and after. Takeaway orders are collected outside of the shop. Although I’m not a big fan of coronation chicken, but they’ve done very well at combining different ingredients, crunchy nuts, herbs, green apple slices, not to mention the airy and flavourful sour dough potato bread, I can see why people queue up here for food. The only downside to me is that the place gets so busy and it can be crowded. Also as a first time visitor, there’s not much guidance on what to do, you just sort of figure it out. The location for me was a little hard to find, you walk down the alleyway and it is the shop to your right, the name of the shop wasn’t visible unless you step opposite the shop.
Yulin — Google review
After being recommended this bakery I was eager to visit and it didn't disappoint. Maybe one of the largest bakeries you'll ever visit, hidden down the end of a back lane with extensive outdoor seating it's a great spot for brunch or lunch on the weekend just be prepared to que. I visited on a Saturday and waited no more than a couple of minutes and tried two of my favourite UK stallwards the Morning Roll (chai spiced sugar dusted cruffin) and the go-to Honey and Feta swirl which was laden with sesame and poppy seeds and was absolutely banging! All their pastries and bread looked top tier. Flaky lamination and a deep caramel crust on all their sourdough (just the way I like it!) The breakfast sando looked unreal, and is clearly a top seller for good reason. I look forward to my next visit to try the rest! Keep up the good work team! 🤘
Maxwell B — Google review
Unbeatable breads, amazing sandwiches, and really creative options! The queue this past July 6th weekend was wild, but worth it! We waited in the queue about 20 minutes until we ordered, but there were plenty of tables and we were able to sit 4 of us at a table inside. Despite the crowds, service was so fast! Our sandwiches + drinks arrived within 8-10 minutes of ordering and were of course, the best in London. It’s the first time I’ve seen it this busy, but even with the queue, these baked goods are always worth it.
Kaitlyn K — Google review
I had very high expectations because this place is recommended to me by a lot of people as “the best bakery in London”. It is very solid but there are many others similar to this, and much better ones for creative pastries
Mert C — Google review
I tried the aubergine peanut satay sandwhich which was full of flavour if a little bit messy with how much sauce they supplied. We also got a morning bun which was amazing. Along with their rooibos honey mint tea. I enjoyed this bakery with its beautiful indoor and outdoor setting tucked away off the main road. I will come back to try more.

Layla Bakery, located in Ladbroke Grove, West London, has quickly become a beloved neighborhood spot since its opening in March 2021. The bakery is known for its welcoming atmosphere and dedication to tradition. It offers a delightful range of baked goods made with seasonal ingredients and heritage grains, including pastries, sandwiches, and bread.
One of the best croissants in London, if not the best. There's always the stress of getting a seating:( but the pastries are worth it. That's why we keep going back. Also, I want to know if the coffees are in standard amount here because they seem a bit small.
Aysegul D — Google review
Delicious pastries and beautiful croissant lamination. Highly recommend if in the area even if there is a wait. It is a bit chaotic, hard to find a seat and not amazingly welcoming but makes sense given the popularity and tourist quantity.
Vedrana I — Google review
I stopped by this bakery and tried the plain, almond, and pistachio dark chocolate croissants along with a coffee — and everything was so good! The croissants were perfectly flaky and buttery, with just the right balance of sweetness. The coffee paired perfectly with the pastries and really rounded out the experience. Overall, a fantastic spot for anyone who loves high-quality pastries. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Sweata P — Google review
One of the best bakery in the London. Their pastries are awsome. Pastries look and taste very good. I tried pistachio-dark chocolate pain souse and blackberry-almond danish. It was great. The dough was crispy, taste was balanced, not to sweet. Coffee was also good. In the future could be there some cozy sitting place inside. I sat outside. It was ok, hovewer inside place could be better. On the weekend they serve pastries only to the box and coffee to the paper cups. I prefer cup and plate. Also there was long queue. It is better to visit bakery early. Service was very nice and helpful and they talked with me. I am looking forward to next visit in the future.
Michal D — Google review
Their pastries are so freaking delicious you’ll want to buy one of each I seriously couldn’t pick! The coffee is so good and there is outside seating. The staff is lovely and deserve to be praised for constantly dealing with all the queues.
Jana A — Google review
Layla Bakery in Notting Hill looks beautiful from the outside and their baked goods are undeniably well-presented – precise, neat, and very photogenic. However, once you get past the appearance, the taste doesn’t quite deliver. The pastries lack the depth and aroma you’d expect from really great butter – that rich, rounded flavour you find in the best French viennoiserie. Instead, they come across a bit bland, and the fillings aren’t particularly generous either. On top of that, the pricing feels hard to justify. £3 for a croissant here compared to around €1.40 (Mamiche or La Maison d'Isabelle for example, where the aroma of butter oozes out as you dig in!) for an outstanding croissant in Paris does make you question the value. Of course, London is a different market and it’s not always fair to compare directly, but at this price point you naturally expect more. On the positive side, the coffee is genuinely good, which helps elevate the overall experience. Still, while Layla looks the part, the flavour and satisfaction of the pastries don’t quite match the premium positioning.
Mimi — Google review
Busy bakery/café. Seen the hype and a friend lives nearby so had to visit. Beautiful pastries that lived up to the hype. Service was quick and we sat outside. Coffee was ok too. But those pastries are to die for!

Violet Cakes is a quaint bakery in Dalston, run by Claire Ptak, a talented cook/designer/stylist from California. This charming spot offers an array of delicious American-style cupcakes, pastries, and brownies made with high-quality ingredients. Their signature treats are beautifully decorated with real flowers, adding a touch of elegance to their laidback atmosphere. The menu changes seasonally and features flavors like chocolate violet and lemon.
Their Christmas cake is worth five stars on its own. Absolutely delicious I can't get it out of my mind. The flavours are decadent, and when you slice into it the liquor notes really come out. The layer of marzipan is a wonderful touch. I also bought some of their mince pies, which were delicious though a bit pricey for its portions. They are pretty mini compared to your typical mince pies sizes at that price Staff were very friendly and accommodating. The location is more of a takeaway with some outdoor seating. Honestly, don't miss out on their festive menu!

The California cookies were delightful. I can really taste the coconut, strawberry with big chunks of chocolate, perfect! The cupcakes are more in the sweeter side but I love it!

I enjoyed the strawberry cupcake at Violet but what was suggested (the scone with apricot was not good and expensive!). The filling just tasted like butter and the dough was mediocre. The service was weird too… the server got angry because I didn’t leave tip. It’s a bakery!

Ordered the chocolate buttercream cake for a birthday and it was so so good. The chocolate flavour was so rich in both the cake and cream - it was almost like a brownie cake. Super delicious and recommended!

Gluten free Vanila sheet cake was lush! 8/10 minus two points for a small square being priced at 7 great British pounds! 😭
Sxxkira — Google review
£8 for a piece of sourdough. I usually love Violet for their cakes and cookies, but I was really disappointed with the cheese toastie I ordered today. It was just a single slice of sourdough folded in half with barely any cheese, and it arrived looking messy almost like it had been carried around in a backpack all day. It also cost £8 and took 25 minutes to arrive (only after I went to ask about it). I definitely wouldn’t recommend ordering a toasted sandwich here, it was surprisingly poor given how good their other food usually is. I wish I took a photo it was comically bad.

We used to live very close to this place when it was new. We were supporters and would regularly drop by to a fantastic neighbourhood cake shop and reminisce about life in the Bay Area. We have since moved away and had kids. By chance I was nearby with one of them today and so swung by. It seems to have turned into an Instagram hotspot. I’m sure the scones are very good, but £12 is ridiculous. The server got aggressive when my disabled son started pointing at the cakes. Not welcoming at all. We left and won’t be back.

Kuro Bakery is a delightful addition to the Notting Hill scene, brought to life by the same talented team behind Kuro Coffee and Kuro Eatery. This charming bakery specializes in an array of freshly baked goods that are as visually appealing as they are delicious. Under the expert guidance of head baker Adam Morley, visitors can indulge in seasonal filled croissants, delectable Danish pastries, and their unique Sakuras—wheel-shaped croissants filled with luscious cream that have taken social media by storm.
There are a lot of bakeries in the Notting Hill area, but Kuro Bakery stands out for me because of some of the more unique items on their menu. These include their Sākuro Pastries, which are delicious. My personal favourite is the Pistachio flavour. Their customer service is also very good. I contacted them recently, as I wanted to purchase their Guinness & Chocolate Ganache Cake, but could not order it through Deliveroo. I contacted the bakery and Olive from the team was incredibly helpful and arranged a collection for me. I really appreciated it, as the cake was for a special occasion. The other staff at the bakery are also friendly and helpful when you visit in-person. I do recommend the Guinness & Chocolate Ganache Cake if you are looking for a chocolate cake which is not too sweet. It has a really nice contrast between the slight bitterness of the Guinness and the sweetness of the chocolate. Kuro Bakery is definitely worth a visit whether you are looking for well baked conventional breads and pastries or something a little more unusual.

Stopped by Kuro Bakery in Notting Hill for a pain au chocolat and an iced coffee - both were great. The pastry was fresh with good quality chocolate, and the coffee was well made. Plenty of tempting options on offer, so definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area.

I’ve ordered apple strudel, chocolate and hazelnut croissant and blueberry muffin. The croissant is generously filled with chocolate and hazelnut cream but the cream itself is tasteless and taste more like a pudding, apple strudel had so little filling and it was somewhat hard to chew. Seemed like apples were not cooked enough or croissant was old. Or both. It wasn’t melting in your mouth at all. Blueberry muffin was nice bc of the blueberry compote at the top but once it’s gone then it’s bland. I’m not sure if for over £15 it was worth the trip Also the lady on the till was too busy chatting to a friend to acknowledge new customers coming in although I stood in front of her.

Kuro Bakery is an absolute gem in the heart of Notting Hill! The moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the warm aroma of freshly baked pastries and a minimalist, calming atmosphere. Their croissants are perfectly flaky, and the matcha lattes are some of the best in London. The staff are always friendly and clearly passionate about what they do. It’s the perfect spot for a quiet morning coffee or a weekend treat. A must-visit for anyone who loves artisan bakeries and beautiful design!

Absolutely one of the best finds in London. Everything is so good. However, the best is their Truffle cheese pastry - it gets sold out by 11AM. So get there early & it’s worth it. Their sweet treats are spectacular too.

I ordered an iced matcha with soya milk. The flavor was just right—not too sweet and not too bold. Also got a flat white, and the croissant? literally the yummiest I’ve had in a while The staff were sweet, but there weren’t many chairs so maybe don’t expect to sit for long. Still, cute little stop if you’re around!

Luminary Bakery is not just a place for delectable cakes, but also a social enterprise that supports underprivileged women by providing them with training and employment opportunities. The bakery has cafes in Hackney and Camden, offering a delightful selection of birthday cakes such as lemon and blueberry, almond cherry chocolate, and orange cardamom pistachio. Customers have praised the incredible flavors of their wedding cakes and the positive feedback received from friends. Additionally, they offer vegan and gluten-free options.
Even with an email mishap (technology sometimes 🤷‍♀️) and a particular busy week for them, the team at Luminary Bakery were able to fulfill our order - - amazing work! The cookies were a hit with the team with one of our bosses saying it was the best 🍪 he has ever eaten! And well done for the fabulous social work you do - thank you 🤍

Bought 3 lovely clebration cakes from Luminary after trying their wedding taster cup cakes. After trying out a couple of supplier these were my favourites. I went for the Carrot Cake, Chocolate and Hazelnut and Salted Caramel. They were all delicious - moist and really tasty! My only slight complaint was their serving size suggestions. They said 14-20 people per cake for the size I ordered, so I got 3 birthday cakes for a party of around 75 people and was worried it wouldn't be enough... I needn't have worried at all! One cake did the entire party!!! So If you just want to give people a small taster slice for a party/wedding or an event, you won't need 3 cakes for 70 people!

We ordered a selection of Luminary Bakery’s mini cakes for our wedding reception. Christy was super helpful during the ordering process, and the cakes were delivered to the venue on the day on time. Our guests really enjoyed the cakes - not a single one was left! We loved it !

I ordered a lemon and blueberry wedding cake from Luminary Bakery after ordering the taster set. I don't think the taster cupcake did justice to how amazing this cake is when you get a full cake :) It was just one of the most delicious moist and tasty cakes I have ever had (and I pride myself on eating alot of cake)! Whilst I was gutted that at the wedding everyone had eaten so much they couldn't eat all the cake , it was still fabulous and so fresh the next day. I ended up giving out slices at our brunch the day after the wedding for people to eat on their trains home and it got rave reviews! This bride and groom may have also had it for breakfast two days in a row and I wish I could start my day with that cake for the rest of our married life :) Thank you so much Luminary for what you do, not only are you an amazing business who are really trying to do something good for so many women ,you are also baking the most beautiful delicious cakes! The cake was a definite highlight of our wedding -thank you so much!

It’s not what you expect from a local business… customer service is everything! This aside-enjoyed the food even though crusty rolls were now chewable. Ridiculously dissapointed. Today I went and bought two belgian buns. Awful. Too much dough which was very heavy. Plus they are not belgian buns, just dough with a bit of dough thrown in. £3.25 for two belgian buns which were thrown in the bin. They tasted nasty. Way too expensive. Greggs belgian buns are far superior.
Caitlin C — Google review
Really disappointing quality of bread - best avoided! We are blessed with some outstanding bakeries in Suffolk - Two Magpies, Pump Street, Little Pig to name but three - but this is in a very different league. We ordered a number of loaves after reading other reviews and of course noting their awards but they all lacked flavour and texture. Worst ciabatta I think I have ever tried. I am interested how they can make bread this poor - you have to think that it is the flour? Never again!

You would think the pedestrian shopping area of Woodbridge would be safe to visit on a busy lunchtime. Left with the feeling of being mugged after paying £6.00 for four iced buns. Last ever visit to the cake shop.

The Suffolk Trencher bread is brilliant, and I occasionally treat myself to a cheese and bacon turnover because they are amazing too. This place really makes the high street in Woodbridge.

Bagel shop
Beigel Bake Brick Lane Bakery is a renowned 24-hour bakery that has been serving traditional Jewish-style filled bagels since it opened in 1977. Located in the East End, it caters to a diverse crowd including clubbers, drinkers, and taxi drivers. The bakery offers classic options like smoked salmon with cream cheese and moist salt beef carved fresh from a warm slab on display. The beigels are boiled before being baked and are available day and night.
Incredible bagels at a very reasonable price. I have walked past here a hundred times but never fancied the wait in the long queue outside around lunch time. Today I decided to give it a try and I was not disappointed. The salt beef bagel with gherkins was very tasty and filling. I got my wife the salmon and cream cheese one and that one was just as good. They are not stingy with the meats or salmon, so it's a decent amount of food for the price. Will definitely come back for more.

Decent bagel at this bakery that is an institution in London. I had a salt beef beigel with extra of pickles. There is a good amount of meat in the beigel per serving . Meat is not dry and it’s flavoursome. Service was fast (I was not stuck in a queue). I would say if you are in the area looking for something to eat /after a night out this is your best bet. Good value for money.

24/7 delicious bagels with unbeatable quality and value! Bagel Bake on Brick Lane is an absolute must-visit for anyone craving fresh, tasty bagels any time of day or night. It’s open 24 hours, which makes it perfect for early mornings, late nights, or whenever hunger strikes. Despite the incredibly cheap prices, the quality is amazing — every bagel is freshly made, generously filled, and packed with flavor. My personal favorites are the classic salmon and cream cheese bagel, and for something heartier, the beef with mustard is fantastic — they really don’t skimp on the meat! I also often take home their challah bread and jam doughnuts, which are super yummy and always fresh. The staff are efficient and friendly, and the bustling Brick Lane location adds to the lively atmosphere. Whether you’re a local, a tourist, or just passing through, Bagel Bake is a delicious, reliable, and satisfying stop for bagels, baked goods, and more. Highly recommended for anyone who loves fresh, affordable, and filling food! Kosher options!
Nóra C — Google review
The filling to beigel ratio is awful for £3, all I can taste is bread! I remember when you could actually see the filling from the sides. Are these purposely being prepared with less filling than before? A sad shame when a Tesco meal deal is actually better value for money. Highly doubt I’ll be back. Response to the owner: Appreciate the apology but, my brother purchased 6 of them (£18) and were pretty much the same. The cheesecake was the only decent or acceptable thing from our order. The cheese and cucumber beigels had a generous 1.5 slices of cheese. If the Tuna beigels were made in front of us it would have been spotted but were sat ready prepared in paper bags. Wanting to rectify it after the fact when we’re not local doesn’t help I’m afraid. Not sure how someone being off is the cause for a standard to drop this bad, does no one else make beigels there? The shop wasn’t busy at the time. The was food lazily prepared, we felt ripped off, hence the review.
Cichlid S — Google review
Honestly, the best bagel in London! Had the plain bagel with salmon and cream cheese – super fresh and tastes just like a real New York bagel. Even the plain bagel on its own is amazing. It’s not a tourist spot – lots of locals come here. Definitely worth the trip instead of going for the usual mainstream bagels around London.🥯
Sebastian S — Google review
We went back twice for the salt beef bagel and sandwich after trying it the first time—it was absolutely incredible! The meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the bagel was perfectly fresh. We stood in line but didn’t have to wait long, even when it's busy, the service is impressively efficient. The salmon cream cheese option was tasty too, but if you're visiting, don’t miss the salt beef bagel or sandwich—it's a must try!
Shalom W — Google review
Had been told about this place by a few people and it's back story about NEVER being closed (apart from some pandemic time), so I had to try the salt beef... WOW. absolutely incredible flavours and a bargain price when you consider it's location. Would 100% recommend and next time I'm in the area I'll be telling whoever I'm with the same story!! Go, have the salt beef and enjoy!
Richard B — Google review
My fav. So nice having it open 24/7 too. Much better alternative to all kebabs and fried chicken shops. Recommend! 🇬🇧 Also you’ll most likely see a queue, don’t let it scare you away, it’ll be gone in minutes.

Bakery
Mayfield Farm Bakery is a popular spot known for its British baked goods and homemade food. The bakery offers a traditional afternoon tea featuring freshly made sandwiches, dainty scones with local jams and Devonshire clotted cream, as well as mini patisserie crafted by their dedicated patisserie chefs. While the coffee may not be up to par, the overall consensus is that the food is great.
Attended a bread making training day with Giovanni who shared his 4th generation Italian baker knowledge with us. It was a great day, we made 5 different bread loaves had a good laugh and were treated to refreshments and a lovely lunch. Would highly recommend!
Anthony G — Google review
Such a pleasant visit, staff were responsive and checked the answers to queries on if the glaze on the fruit tarts were vegetarian (which it was, yay!) Clean and tidy, welcoming to bikers. Reason it dropped a star on food was that the cakes are not served on plates even if dining in! You put in take away paper bag then pay. Such a waste of paper.

Food and service was brilliant. Tasty and scrumptious. So much variety. Good sized portions. Staff were friendly.

Nice little bakery, was impressed with the wide variety of options. I got an almond croissant and a cookie slice (kinda bueno). Coffee: got an iced vanilla oat latte. Perfect for the hot summers day. Enjoyed it and will certainly come back again during our cycling trips.

The freshly baked food at this farm shop is out of this world! I was specifically interested in a fresh loaf made the traditional way with yeast. Then the bread pudding and sausage rolls called me which were delicious. This is a far cry from the supermarkets. I recommend you give it try.

Not sure what happened to the pastries (croissant, pain au chocolat) because they have become really bad. Used to be good but now they’re tasteless with bad texture.. have had to throw them in the bin after a few bites

Came here for the day with my 2 children 10 and 12, they loved the bouncy pillow, and spent ages just having fun. We wandered around the deli and the homeware shop and it was still of beautiful things. We got an ice cream which was the best value I've cream I think I've ever had! Absolutely delicious... Massive scoop and only £3.50. A jolly lovely day out !

We visited the restaurant for my birthday today, All 6 of us agreed the food was absolutely delicious the decor of the restaurant was stunning and view looking out just wow what a fantastic place..... But for such a stunning place the service was awful it was not particularly busy, the hostess when we checked in was rather rude, the waitress serving us was abrupt, we were not checked in on asking if our meals were ok or if we needed another drink, it was all rather "un-friendly" when we asked for another drink dessert menu we felt like an inconvenience! It felt arrogant - you need the good service to match everything else otherwise the experience is average guys hence the 3 stars

Bircham Windmill, a restored windmill dating back to 1846, offers visitors a unique experience with its working bakery and tearoom. The site also features resident goats and sheep, adding to the picturesque countryside setting. Campers can enjoy the small yet charming campsite with 15 pitches and two shepherds huts, along with amenities such as toilets, showers, and a games room.
Really enjoyed our long weekend at this campsite, we had a couple of meals in the tea rooms and a wander into Great Bircham for a Sunday Roast. The pitches are generous so you have plenty of space to call your own. There aren’t many showers/toilets but I didn’t wait long for either. They were clean and didn’t feel like camping facilities (much nicer). The washing up area had fairy liquid, sponges and tea towels to use which made life easy too. I had a brief look in the games room which would be fantastic if the weather hadn’t been as good as we had. It wasn’t a surprise that a campsite at a windmill was windy and we were grateful of the breeze!
Sophie N — Google review
A group of land-rover series one enthusiasts camped at the Mill campsite for a weekend. The campsite was excellent, we had a field to ourselves. The shower & toilet facilities were spotless, a super on site cafe, windmill, museum, animals, well equipped shepherds huts to hire. The staff were all friendly, helpful & completely committed to the good running of the complex. The surrounding area is full of attractions, excellent beaches and various estates to visit.
Mark E — Google review
Nice, restored windmill, where you can climb right to the top, 5 floors. Each floor has tools, implements and information about what that floor was for. Also on site is a bakery where you can bake your own bread or buy some of the products they have made, tea room, garden space, animals and gift shop. Great for families. Free parking. There is also a camp site adjacent but I don't know anything about the costs, facilities etc.
Andrew B — Google review
This is a beautiful place to go for the day. I believe they also have accommodation but I didn't see that. I walked to the top of the windmill and listened to the story and commentary on the way. Stunning views from the top. There is a delightful cafe serving scrumptious food in pretty surroundings. It's all dog friendly with lots of things for children. A definite "must go"
Marilyn H — Google review
Visited the Windmill to stop for a light lunch. Their sausage rolls are delicious and we also had some bread pudding made on the premises. I Had a look in the bakery, I felt like had gone back in time. There was the wonderful smell of freshly baked bread. The loaves looked very tempting. The bakery also has a separate area where families can have a go at bread making. It looked great fun for all ages.
Shirley C — Google review
Great place to visit for children/adults to make and bake bread. The windmill is fab to look around with information and museum. Feed the horse/ donkey. Sheep. Or just buy daily bread which is really good. It is seasonal. Lovely staff on hand for any if your needs. Looking forward to seeing it all again next week!
Val C — Google review
This is a wonderful family attraction with excellent use made of the historic windmill. However can I urge you to review your pricing policy. At the moment you charge over £7 to go into the garden which includes entry to the windmill. My husband and I just wanted to sit in the garden with our coffee and watch our grandson play. We weren't going to pay an additional £14 to do that. Surely you can separate the mill entrance fee from the garden?
Ros N — Google review
Interesting windmill with good views from the top. The entrance fee if you're a group of adults only is quite high for what it is. Better value if you have young children with you as there is quite a bit for them and you could probably easily spend half a day here whereas without children it's probably maximum 90 minute activity.

Lisboa Patisserie is a charming cafe located on Golborne Road in London, known for its authentic Portuguese pastries and coffee. The cafe has been a staple in the area since the early 90s, offering a nostalgic experience with its unchanged ambiance and sense of community. Despite the usual large queues, early visits can help avoid the crowds.
Authentic Portuguese Cafe. Great pastries and sandwiches, cracking atmosphere, always packed. They must be doing something right! Check out their deli across the road. So much better than the so-called Portuguese cafe opposite.

We walked past this bakery and it immediately reminded us of the ones you see in Portugal. The pastries were absolutely delicious! We tried the pastel de nata (egg tart) and another one whose name I can’t remember, but both were amazing. The place was busy and it’s easy to see why everything tastes so yummy.
Kwang S — Google review
Friendly service, delicious pastries, cheap prices for London as well. My partner and I really enjoyed our visit. If you have time, make sure to stop here 👏🏼
Rav P — Google review
Now did I take great pictures of this place? Perhaps not but since I’ll be going back at least on a weekly basis I’ll update that soon enough. I think the pastel de nata is one of mankind’s finest inventions- I love a dessert that’s also egg so I was very excited to hear this place had a good one. When I entered however I was met by a beautiful pastry case stuffed with lots of beautiful things so I also got two other pastries. I LOVED the service because the guy was truly not happy anyone was in there which is fair and I greatly respect how he answered my questions even if all he told me about the other pastries was ‘sponge’ and ‘coconut’. It was really all I needed to know. Cost of three was only six pounds and it was a damn steal because not only was the pastel de nata flaky and eggy greatness but coconut and sponge really came to play. The sponge turned out to be a heavenly creation with custard smothered over it, coconut around the sides and a cherry on top. I really don’t know how to describe the coconut one differently than he did but it was maybe my favorite of the three. My photo doesn’t do them justice but currently this is my favorite London bakery. They had two other shops it looked like so I’ll have to check those out too when I’m not I’m working my way through everything else in the pastry case. Anyway, go here. Get the sponge. And the coconut.
Siena W — Google review
Everything is so delicious! First was brought here by my friend who likes to have her hands on their pastel de natas whenever she’s around. The cappuccino is served very nicely and tastes very nice as well. The prices are very reasonable for London. The staff is very lovely and always helpful as well, very attentive and clear communication. We’ve had some of their other pastries and all was delightful. Can get very busy in the weekends, a lot of community members around meeting up over a cup of coffee and having fresh goodies. Always will be coming back and bringing more friends to taste their tasty treats!
Nuran B — Google review
I've been going here for probably 30 years. Best Portuguese Cafe for food and drinks in what is a trendy part of London . Everything is made on the premises bakery, and their food and custard 🍮 tarts are simply the best. Also, there is a great Portuguese Delicatessen opposite .
Frank — Google review
I've been coming here for over 30 years.. Delicious pastries and coffee. I always go for the Pastel de Nata, (Traditional Portuguese custard tart) and the double latte as it's very strong. Always a good, lively atmosphere. Avoid Fridays and Saturdays as it's very difficult to get a table because of Portobello/Golbourne market.

Nestled in the heart of Norfolk, Two Magpies Bakery is a beloved artisan bakery with three charming locations, including one in Norwich and two along the picturesque North Norfolk coast in Holt and Blakeney. Renowned for its hand-baked delights, this bakery offers an array of freshly made sourdough loaves that line the walls, alongside tempting pastries and savory bakes that beckon from behind the counter. The fridge showcases generous slices of cake that are simply irresistible!
What a find in Norwich, for me, its all about the coffee, whether it's strong and not bitter, smooth and totally drinkable. It's was spot on! 👌 Whereas the rest of our family were all about the food, wonderful breakfast plates, cakes, biscuits and most importantly the variation of Gluten free and Dairy Free for allergens. The Magpies were totally all over this and had a superb menu. The staff were all so helpful, polite and had full knowledge which left you feeling totally confident. Visit, you won't be disappointed! 😘❤️

Easily one of our favourite cafe chains in Norfolk, and this one is particularly good. I love the almond croissant and the cheese twists are brilliant too. Decent pricing and very friendly staff. Only slight criticism from our recent visit is the floor area where we were sitting was pretty dirty and we didn’t want to put our bags down.

What a great place for lunch, brunch, or coffee! We went with my husband to have lunch, loads vegan and GF produce but not bread which contained eggs (well done on stuff knowing this!). So since I am vegan and GF instead of break they gave me a macaroon for free! How very nice of them, definitely come back and 100% recommend!

A gem in Norwich. So much nicer than the high street chain offerings. It's beautiful coffee & magnificent cake selection is why you might have to wait for a free table, but it's worth the wait.

Pleasantly surprised on my most recent visit. Have been many times for cakes and coffee but this time went for breakfast. Absolutely beautiful French toast, bacon was super Smokey and the bread was so thick and fluffy. Can’t recommend enough, portion size was just right. Not the cheapest breakfast in Norwich but we’ll worth it.

If you have dietary issues then Two Magpies is an option with sourdough bread as well as pastries cakes and savouries. There were 7 of us and they had no issues with orders or making sure that the food came out at the same time. The bill wss split 7 ways and, again, this was not an issue. The food looked great and tasted better. We have revisited a couple of times since and the food is still fab but the service was slow, sorry guys

The Greene King Beer Café & Brewery Tours offer a unique opportunity to explore the rich heritage of one of England's oldest operational breweries. Located at the historic headquarters in Bury St Edmunds, visitors can embark on guided tours that delve into over 200 years of brewing history. The brewery, which dates back to 1086, boasts a fascinating story that includes monks brewing ale on the site of the Great Abbey.
Today I had the Brewery tour with my father, It was an amazing experience, Cathy was absolutely a legend showing passion and knowledge, giving me time to translate into Italian for my dad also. Practical moment, the tasting 😁 fantastic. Our top 3 Abbott, Abbott reserve and Old Speckled Hen Distinctive.
Patrik M — Google review
Absolutely loved my visit to the Greene King Beer Café & Brewery—such a rich slice of brewing history in the heart of Bury St Edmunds. The site has been brewing for over two centuries, with roots stretching right back to medieval times and a Victorian brewhouse still in use today . The gravity-fed system in the beautiful 1930s tower brewery is twice as impressive when you learn it’s still operational . But let’s be honest—the best part? The tasting. It’s a highlight of the tour, and you get to sample a range of their beers—absolutely worth it for any ale fan 😜 . And if you’re staying in or around Bury St Edmunds? I’d highly recommend fitting this visit into your itinerary.
Richard O — Google review
Just had the pleasure of doing the brewery tour and it was brilliant. Had a wonderful and very knowledgeable lady taking us round for a great insight to the history and production of one of the best known beers around. From the amazing views on top of the brewery to the taste testing their amazing selection, the whole experience was great.

It's always risky bringing out of towners into Bury St Edmunds and find something they'd be interested in. I need not worry. The Greene King Beer tour was just the tonic. Very informative, very interesting, loads of beer to taste and to take away and all led by the fabulous Cathy. Cathy was superb on every level. A twinkle in her eye when she said something sarcastic and brilliantly knowledgeable. My guests loved Cathy and the tour. My second time of doing it and I thoroughly recommend it.
Steven H — Google review
I’ve been wanting to do the tour for a long time and finally got round to it and glad I did. Steve was the tour guide and his knowledge of the history of Greene King and expertise in the range of beers made for a really interesting day. After the tour, the beer tasting session was excellent and we were able to taste 4/5 different beers. We finished off with a really good lunch in the cafe. Wholly recommend this tour, good value for money too.

Whilst staying at Elevden Centre Parcs popped here for a tour. Everything about this place deserves 5 stars, The tour guide (John) so friendly and knowledgeable, the beer tasting at the end, explaining the different beers etc. Then had some food in the cafe, the staff here (Karen?) were also super friendly and the food amazing. Totally worth taking the time to come here and also Bury St Edmonds is lovely to walk around.

Our tours with John & Steve were absolutely fantastic! Their depth of knowledge is incredible and it was great to taste some beer and learn something at the same time. We particularly enjoyed the walking tour - Bury St Edmunds is a beautiful place and so full of history that we could have stayed wandering around all day. It was only the beer calling from the tasting room that tempted us back inside!

My wife and I went to the Supper Club yesterday evening. It was without a doubt the best vegan dining experience we have ever had. The food was extremely delicious, and beautifully presented. The food literally melted in the mouth. The 2 waitresses were kind and attentive. We really enjoyed the small and intimate restaurant setting. This morning we enjoyed almond pain u chocolat for breakfast. Thank you to the chef for cooking the most delicious dishes! The restaurant takes allergies very seriously. Nestled in the heart of NR6, Fresh Bake Bakery is a delightful gem that has captured the hearts and taste buds of locals. Known for its mouthwatering cheese straws, this bakery has become a beloved spot, especially during challenging times like lockdowns. With an impressive selection of savory treats including sausage rolls and hearty meat pies, it’s no wonder patrons keep returning for more.
A fantastic bakery selling terrific bread, cakes and pastries. Cheese straws are a stand-out item. Staff are friendly. Car park needs some work (take care driving around it - massive potholes) but it wouldn't stop me going. Filled rolls are good (BLT is excellent) My favourites are the Eccles cake and Flapjack.

The best breakfast baps in the morning, their cheese straws are the best I’ve ever had, yummy sausage rolls, pizza slices fresh filled rolls, delis cakes and breads the list goes on. The staff are lovely and welcoming. Highly recommend this bakery

This has been my mums local bakery for as long as I can remember. I don't live near by but when ever I'm that way I will go there for their exceptional cakes and cheese straws.

Best bakery by a country mile. Sausage rolls and cheese straws are amazing and my favourites. The bread is lovely and the Christmas Yule log is really good but you have to order that. A nice range of filled rolls too. There is plenty of parking outside the front. You can pay by cash or card

First time visit at fresh bakery. Very impressive selection of cakes, bread, and sausage rolls/ pasties etc. Excellent quality and service, plenty of parking out front. Open a lot earlier than some bakery's in Norwich, this would be handy for people on their way to work! Use and support local businesses.

Very friendly place, so many things to choose from and such great value!! We used another bakery that was almost double in price and didn't taste as good, so changed to this bakery when we moved and have been 4 times in the last couple of weeks, because everything is so tasty!! Very busy most of the time when we went past but I can see why, definitely our new favourite local bakery 😍 (highly recommend the apple doughnut!!)

Nestled in Harlow, Couzens Bakery and Coffee Lounge is a true gem that has captured the hearts of locals and visitors alike. Renowned for its friendly staff who go above and beyond to ensure a delightful experience, this bakery offers an array of mouthwatering treats. From their delectable sausage rolls to the heavenly carrot cake, every bite is a testament to quality and flavor.
Spotted an English bakery called Couzens so how could I not get something from there so I got the iced bun which was fluffy and decadent. The cream they use is synthetic or I would have got the scone too. There is another branch in Welwyn but it is it not in the town centre area hence out of my radar.

Love the food always here after gym for toast thick and coffee , wife tea and apple pie , food is amazing and staff area great
Simon B — Google review
Staff are really rude, an older woman that worked there had ago at me and my boyfriend for sitting down and eating when we never was asked the option to eat in and takeaway. We told the woman this and she shouted at us that the worker shouldn’t have to ask that and we should just know. Never experienced such bad customer service. Need signs displaying what tills are takeaway, we’re not mind readers. Food was average and overpriced.
Rebecca S — Google review
Staff are nice. Food is basic but the price is expensive. 3.45 for a bacon roll. And it was hardly anything special. The bacon was cold and the roll was squashed. There are no prices on display for anything and then you are shocked when it comes to paying.

Sorry this morning i am going to have a rant. Yesterday lunchtime, I went couzons bakery in harlow town. I thought I would buy myself a lovely ham salad roll, i waited nearly 10 minutes for this roll while I was waiting all I could hear was one of the members of staff bragging on how many timesl She had injured herself there and been to hospital. Finally I got my roll, which was around £3.50. Finally getting home and Looking forward to eatting my roll , i took it out of the paper bag, i found that the roll had no butter not even a handful of shredded lettice half a slice of cucumber, half a slice of tomato no mayo and to top it all not even half a slice of ham which was paper thin. I had to open a pack of my own ham and add some more salad + mayo to make it edible. I am so disapointed and disgusted that i wont be going back there again and i thought i should let people know how bad it is there staff are lazy and just dont care where is the manager and customer service the company beed to sort there staff out. Next time i get a ham salad roll i will drive to Simmonds amazing rolls or even better make it my bloody self. Sorry hope every one has a nice day and lovely lunches but hopefully not from Couzons.

A great place to get a coffee and something to eat with amazing friendly staff. I had a sausage roll which was freshly made and full of flavour, and an apple turnover, which it tasty and not too sweet. Their coffee was great too. The staff were friendly and attentive and I will definitely be visiting again if I'm in the area.

Buns From Home is a bakery in Notting Hill that makes delicious croissants and other breads. They offer a range of different flavors, and their custard cream buns are especially popular.
Great buns for takeout! Fresh from the oven and super soft. The custard bun was especially creamy and delicious—maybe just a touch too sweet, but still very enjoyable. A sweet little place with friendly service. Will definitely be back
Sandra B — Google review
I found a strand of hair inside the vanilla custard bun. I’ve been obsessed with the buns since I first purchased it three months ago, and I’ve been a regular ever since, so this was really disappointing. The bun also had a strange flavour, almost like it had been cross-contaminated with something like sausage or ham, which definitely shouldn’t be in a custard bun. The hygiene seems to be consistently poor, and I’ve seen similar complaints about other branches as well. I won’t be buying from this brand anymore.
Iris S — Google review
Great spot for takeout buns. They have a wide variety of flavor alternatives to cater all likings. Personally, I chose the Dubai chocolate flavor (as I have a sweet tooth) and it was really good. The portion size is REALLY generous. Can perfectly be shared by two. I couldn’t eat it all in one sitting, so the box they provide you with comes in handy so that you can take your leftovers with you. The coffee was decent. Could be improved.
Delfi D — Google review
You can’t miss with buns from home. Every time I get something from them, I’m have an incredible experience. Whether it’s pistachio bun, cardamom or cinnamon, almond croissant one ALL OF THEM are incredible.
Polina H — Google review
Really soft and delicious buns—a little cold but still good. Most of the places are take-away so you'll have to stand outside and eat or find somewhere else to sit. The classic bun and blueberry buns were great.
Sarah K — Google review
cinnamon bun and vanilla custard are so delicious!! highly recommend. Waiting is usually a bit long but we were lucky enough to be the first on the line this time. Pastries go out of stock really fast if we did not manage to go there early enough.
Ebaa A — Google review
I visited this branch of Buns from Home for the first time recently and I was pleased to find the buns are up to the same standard as there other locations. I visited when they had just opened and so the full selection of buns were not ready yet. However, the young lady who served me was very helpful and recommended the Pistachio Double Bake instead of the Dulce de Leche. The Pistachio and the Almond Double Bake which I also purchased were both delicious. They were lovely and soft. I could really taste the almond and pistachio without it being "too much". I can honestly say they are among the best buns I have ever tasted. I do recommend warming the buns up, because they taste even better. The location is takeaway only and if you have want to purchase any of their dessert buns (such as the Cheesecake), you need to visit later in the morning. I will definitely be back for another visit to try them.

First time I’ve visited and will 100% be back. Cakes are huge and taste amazing! Great prices too and very friendly staff.

Whilst on a day trip to Sudbury the beautiful looking cakes in the window display caught our eye. With the double window shop front with seating one side and cakes the other, along with a 5 star food hygiene rating sticker in the window we were tempted inside. Having entered we discovered an odd smell, reminded us of either stale water or that similar to when you often walk into a charity. However this did not put us off the lovely looking cakes. Unfortunately, whilst the presentation was 10/10, the quality of the cakes did not live up to their appearance. The Belgium Bun, albeit massive, was dry and hard going. The icing was ok, but the bun was far from moist, tasty and what I expected. The Eccles Cake was bursting with Currents, perhaps too many, and too many hard & stringy bits within. If the quality of the cakes lived up to the presentation then it would have been the best cake shop/bakery ever, but unfortunately for us, this was not the case.
Star N — Google review
Since they have opened the new bakery cafe it’s not great, Sausage rolls are always overdone and inedible, coffee served luke warm, never any iced ring donuts without sprinkles, the little one on goal lane the sausage rolls and pasties were always lovely, soft and hot, not like eating a chunk of dry pastry, coffee hot! We were regular visitors. Up the standards as we’ve been to the cafe 3 times now and always leave disappointed, we won’t be coming back any time soon. The owner really needs to intervene and ensure quality and consistency is implemented in the cafe. Hopefully the cafe is due an update too as it’s currently like gods waiting room in terms of decor.

Totally won over by this bakery, not only are the cakes HUGE and taste amazing, the staff are super friendly and gave my daughter's a little extra gift to give me for mother's Day, free of charge! I know business have to make a living, but two egg on toast £12.00..?? Where they cockerels eggs.? I actually said I would leave it and left! And lucky I did, Found the absolutely adorable David’s coffe shop, What a difference. Positive review for David’s to follow..

Went in today for lunch, 8th April. CHAOS ! Serving staff running up and down stairs; table cloth stained; waitress eating while taking customers orders; pastry of quiche not cooked; card machine not working properly; hope I won’t get charged twice as eventually paid with cash. Oh, they did reduce the bill for the quiche pastry when we mentioned it to our server, but the ‘old man’ who appeared to be owner, was overheard and seen talking to his ‘chef’ joking about our comment, very rude. One ladies toilet out of order and hand dryer not working. Had to ask for condiments and sugar for drinks. Nothing good to say!

Went into the cafe today, which I always look forward to, requested a chai latte and an egg and bacon sandwich. The chai latte was delicious as always but unfortunately I received an egg mayo and bacon sandwich. I told the lady that I'd received the wrong order and parts of her responses were "it's your fault, we don't do egg and bacon sandwiches, they're not on the menu, if you don't pay for the sandwich (which I did not request) you'll would be banned". Quite dramatic response over something so silly I thought. Ignored the snarky comments made thereafter and left it at that. (My question is- egg mayo and bacon sandwiches are also not on the menu, so the logic doesn't make sense at all). Anyways, I paid for my chai latte and went on my way. I'll sign off with this...a good business isn't just about how good your product is but also how well you deal with issues. May you deal with things better in future. (Response to owner- the conclusion of this review isn't about a sandwich. It's about the disgusting treatment I received for an order (you messed up) that was received, accepted then denied (which is fine) but everything could've been dealt with professionally. You chose to ban me over a sandwich. Now that is quite dramatic).

Whether you're looking for breakfast, lunch, or just some delicious pastries for tea time, Greggs has got you covered. They are particularly famous for their mouthwatering doughnuts which are considered the best in the area.
Probably one of the best Greggs experiences I’ve had. Everything was neatly presented and cooked perfectly golden brown . Staff were clearly very experienced especially Laura who was exceptional. We were in and out in a few minutes.

Absolutely filthy! Every single table was dirty, floor was disgusting and seats covered in crumbs. Food was even stuck on the walls, there was multiple members of staff working (more than enough for someone to be cleaning) and many of them who walked through the seating area and ignore the state of it! Put me off my food after paying extra to eat inside, would avoid going back to this location! Appalling!

Asked for a hot sausage roll and cappuccino. Was given a cold sausage roll and half a cup of luke warm frothy milk with sprinkled chocolate . Then tried to find a clean table that didnt have something spilt on it. Used to be great going to Greggs guess I wont be going back.

I've always liked Gregg's cheap prices and tasty food, but they only ever do two vegan options, three if you include the fruit pots. I was happy to see there's now a forth option. I've just tried their vegan doughnuts and they're lovely. I was probably happier than I should have been to see they added a new vegan alternative, and it's a dessert to boot. 😋 The staff was also friendly, which is always a bonus.

The bakery also offers coffee made from the Workhorse blend from Horsham Coffee Roaster, which can be purchased to enjoy at home. While some visitors speak of Bread Source with awe, others find the staff less impressive than the delicious treats on offer.
I have been there many times now both to have in or take away. They have a very nice selection of sweet and savory things. My top favorite is the almond croissant, raspberry and pistachio whirl and their vegetarian quiche. But everything I have had so far has been good and it is worth a try. Their coffee on the other hand is not one of my favorites. It's ok.

Bleubirdy99 — Google review
Terrible Service & Inedible Pastries I used to buy my coffee and pastry here but the last few experiences have been really bad. I had a truly disappointing experience the other day at Bread Source Bakery. The staff were incredibly rude, talking to customers for ages no greeting, no smile, and acted like I was a nuisance just for asking a simple question about whether the pastries were made the same day. It felt like I was inconveniencing them by being there. To make things worse, I bought an almond croissant that looked decent but was hard as a rock and when asked to change it, I was told that all of them were the same. I’m not exaggerating, it was like biting into a stone. Completely inedible. Between the terrible service and the awful food, I honestly don’t know how this place stays open. Flies everywhere sitting on the bread. It was so unhygienic. Definitely won’t be coming back. There are far better bakeries around that actually care about their customers and their pastries.

Amazing selection of cakes. Not many choices in savoury pastries but the savoury options they did have were very tasty and delicious. We tried homemade sausage roll and spinach, cheese and ham pastry as savoury and fresh strawberry and clotted cream filled doughnut and Chelsea bun as a sweet options. Coffee and hot chocolate. Decoration is very original and fancy. One of the best places to get breakfast or brunch.
Ilonka S — Google review
Pastries there is amazing and what you pay for is worth. but the brioche bun with chicken was a little pricy unless they actually made their own bun? Otherwise is just some chicken with nice mayo in a bun with fresh lettuce. I found most of the savoury pastries or sandwiches there are on the small side with the amount they are charging in my opinion..the cardamom bun and the banana muffins were good but were not many Vegan options. Also had a leek pie with bacon and cheese. A touch bigger would have been very satisfied.

Love love love this place. Stayed in Norwich with a friend for a week... We went to Bread Source every single morning! I'm usually a savoury food person but I absolutely love the pastries here. Delicious corned beef sando. It was moist and the fried onion gave it a lovely texture. We also got the condensed milk bun which was not too sweet, just perfect. Our server JD was the best, he's so lovely. We will be back! @twochewfoodies

I think the sandwiches were alright but too overhyped in my opinion. The chicken Caesar one tasted like it was a tuna sandwich, not chicken because of its mushy texture. Breakfast bap was good but a bit overpriced for what it was. The doughnuts were tasty though! There’s only a bit space inside to sit and have your food, and a few tables outside. But I’d say it’s mostly takeaway place rather than sit in.
Magda B — Google review
Simply out of this world proper sandos. Bread is incredible, a little sweet to wrap the flavours of the filling of choice. I had chicken and mushrooms: juicy and so tender you don’t know where the chicken starts and the mushroom ends. Must try their sweet offerings as well (spend some time waiting to see what comes out of the oven).
Federica M — Google review
We got the beef sando, matcha strawberry cookie, matcha ube latte, latte and donut. We loved everything, especially the sando. The beef was so soft and flavorful, the bread was toasted perfectly. I only regret not trying the other sandos (or is this the perfect excuse to travel 45 minutes to Camden?) On another note, I forgot to substitute the milk in the matcha latte with oat milk. My husband mentioned that I was lactose intolerant and if there was any way we could get it with oat. They were more than understanding and made it with oat, but due to the recipe having whipped cream on top, they had to redo it again. I felt very bad to have them redo the whole thing and was ready to pay extra for their troubles. However, they gave us an extra matcha strawberry cookie as an apology... We didn't know what to say - the whole thing was my fault from the start. We want to genuinely thank the staff working that day. The ube matcha latte and cookie were perfect. Love the unique choice of drinks, there were so many I wanted to try but went for sunrise espresso. It was sourly but surely unique haha. My friend’s ube latte was quite nice. The Sando Chicken sandwich was way better than I expected - Melted in my mouth. Wish they had more seats but overall I enjoyed the spot!

I am in love!!!! I cannot stop thinking about the insane sandwich (the Chicken Sando) I had here and honestly, I do not want to stop! Panadera Bakery is a little gem situated in Camden Town which gives your usual baked goods a Filipino twist, so what’s there not to love? Also, I’ve been here twice and both times the service was sooo lovely! What we got: 🥪 Chicken Caesar Sando 🧄 Garlic Cheese Pandesal 🧋 Ube Matcha Latte
Silvia — Google review
Literally insane...my mouth is so in love with me right now ;) The Sando was it!! 10/10 was not sure which to have and 2 of the 4 flavours had sold out..the guy behind the counter was super helpful and gave advice and once I told him all the things I can't have helped me navigate. I had the chicken and mushroom sando which was out of this world, loved every bite...tasted even better than I thought chicken could...worth the 9 quid. Had an ube milk over ice which was purple and delicious and no lactose...tasted like red bean. Takeaway I got a donut leche flan...which I was meant to share but I didn't...oops. Def going again..staff really friendly, they were playing Usher tunes and all singing..was fab

These are some of the best sando’s I’ve ever had! Wow the flavour and the balance of fresh and soft and crunchy is out of this world! I’ve had the beef hash sando before and came back to try the new chicken mushroom one and it’s equally as good! You can’t miss this place if you’re in Camden, delicious coffee too. My only regret is that I didn’t get the meal deal as it’s great value for money.

Crusty Corner Bakery is a charming family-run establishment that offers a delightful array of freshly baked goods. The bakery takes pride in producing a tempting variety of bread, cakes, cookies, pastries, and more. With a focus on quality and unique flavor combinations, the bakery has garnered praise for its delicious offerings. Whether you're in the mood for traditional treats or quirky creations like MARMITE sausage rolls and cheese straws, this bakery has something to satisfy every craving.
Lovely to find a corner bakery. I was driving past at the right time for once and decided to have a nose! THE BEST cheese straws I have ever tasted. You may think it looks pricey but every penny you spend there is yummy points! I also bought a gingerbread man and MARMITE sausage roll. Now I have found this bakery I will definitely be back soon :D Thanks for making such yummy treats !

The bread and rolls are not vegaterian or vegan friendly my partner noticed a some set white grease on the bottom of the bread and rolls and it was confirmed to be lard (animal based fat) ☹️
Jame D — Google review
I visited the bakery this morning as I woke up with a craving for decent bread. Parking is not easy, it seems as if you have to drive over the pavement to get to the parking near the shop front, and one of these spaces appeared to be filled with a table and chairs. The shop has a nice and fresh appearance, the lady who served me was friendly. I asked for a soft white tin loaf and was given three options. I asked for the Farmhouse loaf and to have it thick sliced. There were no prices next to these loaves (there may have been a pricing board somewhere in the shop, but I didn't see it), so when I handed over a £5 note and only received 25p change, I was a little shocked. I appreciate that this is a small, local bakery and I expected to have that reflected in the cost, but £4.75 for a loaf of bread? The closest equivalent in sainsburys is £1.60, or even from Bread Source it's only £3.50. The bread itself was soft and nice enough, but no better than any other bakery loaf I have eaten. I drive past it every day on my way to work, but sadly I don't think I'll be returning.

Bar
Fine dining restaurant
St. John is a renowned restaurant located in a whitewashed ex-smokehouse, where Fergus Henderson gained fame for his offal dishes. The bar at St. John is dog-friendly and even offers bone marrow treats for furry companions. The menu features simple British cuisine, including the legendary bone marrow and parsley salad, cold roast pork with dandelion and shallots, cheese and chutney sandwiches, hot-cross buns, and Eccles cakes.
Perfect for people who want good cooking with adventurous options! Got a drink at the bar as I arrived a little early, house wine was great. Our waitress was wonderful, and spent extra time recommending dishes for us. I got the Pig and Ox Liver, both of which were amazing. The madeleines cannot be missed, I would go for them over a regular dessert. Easy recommendation, get a reservation early!
Sam G — Google review
What a special restaurant! Really enjoyed the inventive British menu, every dish was unique and thoughtful, without being pretentious. Fun to try some more unusual cuts of meat. Great drinks list and the bread pudding dessert was incredible. Service was extremely thoughtful and attentive, and helpful with dietaries. Wonderful experience and I look forward to our next visit!
Ying W — Google review
This is by far the best British restaurant I’ve ever had in my whole life. I’ve come to UK for two weeks and nothing of what I’ve tried so far can be compared to this restaurant. From the starters, to the mains, to the desserts. It’s just “mmm” 🥰😘. So good, so delicious! Glad that I came here during my time in the UK. Would love to pay this place a visit again 🙏
Bryan L — Google review
This is unpretentious excellence. In a world where TikTok hype drives crowds, St. John just focuses on doing things right (boring done right). It is a classic British spot, known for its nose-to-tail approach. Service was polite and professional without being fussy. We never felt rushed and never felt ignored. The fish of the day was excellent, and of course we had the bone marrow on toast, which was worth the visit on its own. Flavours are not experimental, but the quality and freshness make everything great. I had the pigeon, which I really enjoyed, although the meat is firmer and the flavour stronger than other meats, so it may not be for everyone. Right outside is a more casual bar with a lighter atmosphere where you can have a drink and snack on excellent food without spending much.
Victor H — Google review
St John is quite the culinary institution where offal is concerned. The food presentation is unpretentious and fuss-free, and the flavour comes through. Not for everyone, but definitely interesting for the adventurous amongst us. There was a bit of a long gap between appetizers and main course, which dimmed the experience slightly. Overall, St John is a must-try for the foodies.
Sim N — Google review
Was drawn here after hearing this is many a persons favorite restaurant, including Anthony Bourdain. My criteria for a great restaurant are few: delicious, attentive service, and most importantly, creative flavors I can’t or haven’t easily replicated at home. St. John meets all of these. I particularly appreciate the ethos behind the ingredients, the personable service (shout out to June!) , and the unpretentious ambiance. It’s a bit ironic coming from someone who was once vegan. For fun, I’m gonna give a dumbed down explanation of what I tried. (I’m American, so I’m allowed to be dumb.) Bread: unusually good, nicely chewy Pickled herring: quite well done, not too fishy. It’s toast with fish, sauce, and pickled stuff. Eat the top slice of fish separately because you can’t fit it all in your mouth. Terrine: gamey, which I like. Like a square cold salami. Roast bone marrow: the classic. Fun to eat. Marrow has a subtle flavor. Don’t expect the intense flavor of cabeza. Roast middle white: very good. Like a pork steak, with crispy skin on outer edge. Prune sauce was pleasant. Ox tongue with beet: pleasantly salty, the roast middle white is more substantial. This was two thin slices. Madeleines: divine. I got these with a cup of milk and it was fantastic. Now, were any of these dishes so delectable that I’d come back just for one of them? The madeleines, yes. The bakery is phenomenal—I’d go more dessert heavy next time.
Joseph Y — Google review
Laidback environment with a no-frills serving style, but the quality of everything plated is impressive. Whether you want to try something different or elect for a comfortable classic, you won’t be disappointed. Do not leave before ordering the madelines, as they’ve perfected them. We had an excellent experience and would return!

Very much enjoyed this visit. The room had a great vibe. The service is very friendly, and the food was fantastic. We had a large group and had almost one of everything and it was all good. Some weird stuff like chicken neck and lamb liver but all of was excellent. The smell and taste of the fresh Madeleines at the end were simply awesome. I will be back on future London visits.

If you're looking for a comfortable and convenient stay in the heart of London, look no further than the Premier Inn London City (Old Street) hotel. This low-key accommodation features simple yet clean rooms equipped with complimentary Wi-Fi, making it an ideal choice for both families and solo travelers. The hotel's relaxed eatery serves up traditional fare that is sure to satisfy your cravings after a day of exploring the city.
Really enjoyed our breakfast here! There was a great variety of fresh food, and the buffet was always well-stocked. The pastries were warm, fresh, and looked amazing. It’s a very family-friendly place too — there’s a little toy area for kids in the restaurant, which was a nice touch. Our table was downstairs, and we found a cozy little reading corner tucked away with lots of books. It made the whole space feel extra inviting. The staff were all really friendly and polite, and everything just felt well taken care of. Would definitely come back!
Jori D — Google review
The location is great, the rooms are nice but to have no running water in a hotel (except for the kitchen) is absolutely ridiculous. No apology from staff just a shrug and “yea the water’s out in the whole building” then moving on to the next guest without offering bottled water or a way of getting some kind of refund. We’ve stayed in hotels where things have happened that are out of people’s control but the way the staff handled it eased the situation. I’m not sure how they managed to clean the rooms efficiently with no water for the next guests.
Lauren S — Google review
Location wise the hotel is good but the hotel itself has no customer service at all. We visited 10 days back, our washroom sink was blocked, we checked in at around 4pm and no one was there to take care of it. We were told that it will be taken care of in the morning when maintenance people come but we stayed for 2 nights and no one came to open it. We were washing hands, brushing our teeth, washing face in the bath tub, like we were living in a 2 star hotel. Furthermore, Air con was not working and it was extremely hot, we waited many hours that it will work on its own but we had a very restless sleep.
Madeeha A — Google review
Decent hotel in a useful (for me) location that might not suit everyone - at the northern perimeter of the Square Mile. Easy walk down to Guildhall, Bank, Royal Exchange and the Thames and Borough Market. A nice stroll north takes you to vibrant Islington over the Regent Canal. Premier Inns are a reliable and comfortable standard with our Premier Plus room being on a quiet floor with marginally improved space and facilities including a fridge, coffee pod machine and complimentary bottled water. I'd hope for slightly better maintenance - part of our shower was loose and damaged. Housekeeping is hit & miss - only one set of towels was provided for a booking of two people and the hand-wash was empty. A word with the duty manager got it sorted. Staff are very friendly & helpful but as always with Premier, too few in number to cope at busy times.

Just back from London today. Stayed at old street premier inn for the first time. Food was lovely, rooms were great, clean and spacious, but the staff really made it. They were so good and helpful, and absolutely fantastic with the kids. Will definitely be back to stay again.

Nice location. Standard rooms. Like all other hotel in london it is expensive. The extractor in the bathroom is quite loud. Also no mini bar in the room. We had some stuff needs to be refrigerated so went down to ask if they can put for a night in the fridge. The answer was no. Hotel policy. The location is great close to public transport. Also 15 min walk to regents canal.
Tugberk B — Google review
Rooms were pretty outdated compared to other Premier Inn but they were comfortable and spacious. Area is very nice, busy, well connected via public transportation and close to many great spots but quiet enough
Berta M — Google review
We enjoyed our stay at this location. The hotel is basic. Expect to check yourself in and out. My room (611) was basic but spacious for London. The bathroom had a big bathtub, which made getting in and out a little challenging. The mattress and pillows were comfortable. The breakfast was basic. You can tell the ingredients are not of the highest quality. I wish the bread was of better quality. The positive is that kids eat for free! Location wise, it's good. There are buses and metro very close by. It does take about 30 minutes to get to the side of town where Buckingham Palace and Natural History Museum are located. You can walk to Tower Bridge if inclined. It takes about 40 mins. Lots of good restaurants around. I highly recommend Hoxton Fish House for fish & chips.

Nestled by the serene West Boating Lake in Victoria Park, Pavilion Cafe is a delightful waterfront spot that invites you to unwind with its airy ambiance. This charming cafe specializes in organic breakfast options and unique lunch specials, making it a perfect retreat after a leisurely stroll through the park. You can savor your coffee while observing playful ducks or take in stunning lakeside views from the deck that extends over the water.
Pavilion is one of my favourite cafés in East London. Located in the heart of Victoria Park, Pavillion offers some of the best pastries in town. They specialise in Sri Lankan food and have a unique breakfast menu. I had the Sri Lankan roti and dal which was absolutely perfect, extra points for fresh curry leaves! What makes Pavilion even more special are the staff at the cafe who are super friendly. Huge shout out to Sam who made us feel very welcome! If you’re visiting soon, would highly recommend trying the cardamom and turmeric buns.

This was a lovely stop. What an amazing cafe to stop by when you're having a stroll in the park. I had the cheese and kimchi toasty and it was perfect. Gooey salty melted cheese on a crispy sourdough bread, all balanced out with some sour kimchi to the side. Exactly what i wanted. We also got some baked goods. The Chocolate au pain, chocolate chip cookie and a cinnamon roll. All baked perfectly to my liking. Airy soft au pain, chewy dens cinnamon roll and soft and chewy chocolate cookies. Personally i liked the vibe a lot, especially with some nice reggae music to accompany my lunch. Thank you so much!

The cafe is nestled within Victoria Garden, offering plenty of outdoor seating—perfect whether you’re visiting solo or with a group. The garden and lake views are stunning. We ordered a flat white with oat milk and an Americano, paired with almond croissants. The coffee was excellent, and the croissants were outstanding—crisp on the outside, soft and tender inside, with a generous portion. You can tell they use premium ingredients and possibly even infrared baking. They also sell housemade granola and peanut butter to take home, which I really enjoyed with my breakfast yogurt. I’ll definitely be returning.

Despite the fact that it was very busy on Sunday, we were able to find tables with beautiful views of the lake. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was absolutely fantastic. The view is spectacular. P.S. The boats 🛶 on the water remind me of a movie scene from The Notebook. 📔

With an impeccable space owned by the founders of Frieze, Toklas offers an understatedly stylish atmosphere and playful ambiance.
Our new family favourite! Perfect for any occasion - I’ve celebrated two graduations there as the food is so delicious it feels like a treat reserved for special occasions but it’s also got a relaxed vibe that feels like you could pop in for a casual lunch. We always end up sharing everything to cover the menu as it’s impossible to choose from such a yummy sounding selection of dishes

I felt underwhelmed by food here. Some dishes were absolutely amazing like the feta, bread or carrots. But some didn’t hit the mark. I’ve got courgette as main and the portion was not very big and flavours didn’t blend well. Most of the menu is also fish. The wines were really nice as well as service was great. Overall we felt like this was an overpriced experience.
Karo — Google review
I’d been to Toklas once before to photograph the food for Bloomberg, but it was wonderful to finally make time to return as a proper customer. Walking into this spot on The Strand, you’re immediately struck by how right everything feels. Ivone and Divine looked after us beautifully—the kind of servers who anticipate your needs without hovering, making the whole evening feel effortless. We started with their olives, though honestly these were the weakest part of the meal—decent enough but nothing special compared to what followed. The peaches with green beans and almonds were nice, and the mozzarella with caponata, pinenuts and basil was particularly lovely—they worked well together. The lamb chops with tomato and salsa verde were stunning—you could tell immediately this was exceptional meat, cooked with real care. Our brill with marinated peppers and marjoram was equally impressive, the fish perfectly complemented by those vibrant peppers. And the chips? Absolutely brilliant—crispy perfection that somehow made everything taste more like itself. But honestly? The Alphonso mango was something else entirely. Even though we were completely satisfied, we couldn’t resist, and it turned out to be the best sorbet we’ve ever had—clean, intense, absolutely perfect. Toklas gets the fundamentals so right.

The beetroot with pomegranate was a perfect start — refreshing, vibrant, and beautifully balanced. The raw fish crudo was another highlight, and that tiny lime on top (finger lime) is shockingly sour — in the best possible way. It wakes up your taste buds instantly.

Nestled beneath the Hoxton Overground station, Fabrique Bakery Hoxton is a charming gem on a cobblestone street that beckons with the irresistible aroma of freshly baked goods. This delightful Danish bakery specializes in an array of buns, including cinnamon, cardamom, and saffron varieties that boast gooey warm centers. The danish bakery that I will be dreaming of when thousands of miles away. As you walk the street the sweet smell of butter and freshly baked bread pulls you in. The place is known for there cinnamon bun - and they deserve the reputation. I tried there famous cinnamon bun. It is slightly chewy, feels glazed with some crispy sugar crystals on the top. Perfect way to start a Sunday. Only downside: could’ve have been slightly more moist, but likely personal preference here. Likely one of the best cinnamon buns in the city.

Good morning from a lovely little corner, suitable for grabbing a coffee and breakfast on the way and if you have time to sit down for a drink and a bite to eat in peace. The smiling and friendly young people of the staff will put you in a good mood, and the food and drinks will give you the strength to overcome the stress of everyday life. I've been living 5 minutes from the cafe for a month now, but I'm always in a rush for the overground and it never occurred to me to look to the right where Fabrique is. Take a look because the quality of the items on offer is definitely worth it ❤️. Buying a surprise bag from the To Good to Go app brought me here. Exactly for 3.39 you get your breakfast and bread...delicious, like homemade and tempting (despite my diet :)) Enjoy ❤️ I recommend!

Was recommended this place and will definitely be returning. They have a fantastic range of pastries for a little bakery which were all delicious and buttery. My favourite was the doughnut which was sugary and soft and flavourful without being too sweet. I haven’t yet had a chance to try the bread but I will go back to do so. My only comment was for the eaten mess bun the icing didn’t go the whole way through the bun. I believe this is human error tho as I have seen on their Instagram others do and for that I won’t impact the star rating.

The staff’s service isn’t much to expect beyond making the sale. The coffee has remained pretty much the same over the years — still quite good. The bread tastes best when it’s freshly baked, though it’s not particularly special — just very basic and reliable in flavour. The pizza tends to dry out over time, so I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat it here. Since the end of COVID-19, Pavilion Road has become a major hotspot, and this place definitely plays a part in that.

The food looked amazing, but I can’t say the same about the taste. It’s a small boutique-style place, good if you’re hungry and just want to grab a coffee and a quick bite to take a short break. It’s self-service, very much a eat and go kind of spot. The staff are friendly, but I wouldn’t say it’s a place you’d become a regular at.

Chicken pizza was good and the sourdough bread had a smooth texture to it all be it a bit on the pricey side at £8 for quarter of a slice seemed a little bit steep

I Love Bread Ahead is my favourite bread company.First time visit to this location with my friend on Saturday 25 October only to buy a quarter of the big sourdough bread. End up with last 2 left and focaccia. We also try two types of pizza. All delicious. Normally I go to Borough Market branch or Wembley. This time we try the one on the pavilion’s.First time on that road I discovered new shops, all very nice, very expensive but is Chelsea.Only mark they don’t have person to clean the table, but, was very busy day.

Beyond the great coffee, the croissants here deserve special mention. They are consistently fresh, with a delicate crunch on the outside and a soft, buttery inside. Perfect with either an espresso for a strong kick or a latte for a gentler balance. Unlike some cafés where pastries feel like an afterthought, here they clearly put effort into offering quality baked goods. The café is small but welcoming, and it’s conveniently located for anyone passing by. The staff are efficient but also take the time to engage with customers, which gives the place a pleasant local charm. The prices are reasonable, especially given the quality of both food and service. Alongside croissants, there are also handy snacks that make it a good option for a light lunch or something to grab on the go. Altogether, it’s the kind of café you can rely on consistent, friendly, and with just enough choice to make it interesting without being overwhelming.

Pizza restaurant
Jolene Hornsey Road, also known as Big Jo, is a bohemian restaurant that showcases farm-to-table dishes and baked goods. They pride themselves on using heritage grains, which are complex, resilient, and delicious. This restaurant goes the extra mile by sewing these grains directly into the grass and milling them on-site to ensure maximum natural goodness in every loaf they sell.
Jolene is amazing! The pizza was delicious — super fresh and flavourful. And they even gave us a free loaf of bread at the end, which was such a nice surprise. Definitely coming back!
Alexander A — Google review
Unfortunately, not my favourite experience at a Jolene restaurant. Don't get me wrong, the service was great. The staff, very lovely, and the food was as delicious as you'd expect at Jolene. The portion sizes, however, are tiny. Especially considering what they're charging, and the menu is a tad pretentious. I understand leaning into a fancy asthetic, and I've seen how it works at other Jolene restaurants, but this one feels like more of your run-of-the-mill cafe, brightly lit, and spaced out. I felt silly having to google practically every item on the menu to understand what I was looking at, all the while surrounded by young mums and their babies. Serve slightly larger portions and rewrite the menu in a fashion thats a little more descriptive, and I'd be revisiting much sooner. Right now though, unless getting takeaway coffee, I'm not in a rush to get back.

Jolene – Hornsey Road, London Review Atmosphere & First Impressions (4.5/5) A spontaneous coffee stop at Jolene turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The space has a warm, inviting vibe, and while I didn’t eat on this visit, the food on display looked incredibly tempting. It’s the kind of place where you could easily settle in for a while—or just grab a quick, quality coffee. Coffee Quality (5/5) Ordered my usual flat white, and despite not having my usual keep cup with me (which I typically use to keep reviews consistent), this one stood out enough to warrant a note. • It arrived with dense, well-textured microfoam—exactly what a flat white should have. • Once it cooled enough to hold (more on that in a second), the taste was balanced, smooth, and possibly the best flat white I’ve had in a while. Presentation & Practicality (3.5/5) The one downside: no handle on the cup. It looked great, but aesthetic over function doesn’t help burnt fingers. A handle would be much appreciated, especially when the drink is piping hot—waiting to hold your coffee shouldn’t be part of the ritual. Value for Money (5/5) At under £4, this is fantastic value for the quality. In a city where flat whites can stretch well beyond that for far less quality, Jolene delivers a knockout cup without breaking the bank. Overall Rating: 4.5/5 Jolene nailed it—great coffee, lovely space, and excellent value. If you’re in the area, it’s an easy recommendation, and based on this flat white, I’d absolutely return to try the food next time.
Nitin S — Google review
Jolene is first and foremost a superb location. Spacious, with an industrial decor but with (very) meticulous details. The place where I love to have an excellent coffee and very decent viennoiseries (sorry, I'm French, so I'm very -very- demanding when it comes to croissants 🧐 ), after taking my niece and nephew to school. You can relax and work in peace, on the terrace or inside, outside meal times. What's more, I've heard nothing but good things about their savoury cuisine, so I'll have to give it a try!

Lovely place next to Finsbury Park. I really enjoyed sandwich with leeks and feta cheese (what a great flavour marriage). Perfect bread!! Definitely I’ll come back there!
Alicja D — Google review
We booked a table for 4 at 8pm, on a Wednesday. However, it was still quite busy which says a lot about how popular this place is. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the servers were really nice. The overall vibe was great. We were seated on a long table divided by chalk into 3 tables. This was rather odd to me, but I think its part of the vibe. The bathroom was quite questionable as it had large windows into the stalls that have a slight blur to them. The reason for the low rating is the wait time, we ordered a bunch of small dishes as this was the only thing available, and it took forever for each dish to arrive. I dont recommend going here if you are hungry, definitely stock up on some food before coming here.

Fabrique is a Stockholm-based bakery located near Hoxton Overground station in London. The bakery offers a small Scandi-style seating area for visitors to enjoy a Swedish coffee break, known as fika, along with sweet buns. Using traditional stone ovens, Fabrique hand-bakes various bread like rye, walnut boules, and sourdough. Their knotted buns come in flavors such as blueberry and buttery cinnamon with sugar crystals.
my absolutely favorite bakery in the whole world. whenever i’m in london or stockholm that’s my go to place because the atmosphere is chill and cozy and the food is 11/10, especially the croissant! love it love it loveeee it

Best sourdough! The place was tiny with limited seating but the crew was amazingly efficient. They took turns serving in the counter and tidying the tables regularly. The coffee was also of good quality.
Lee L — Google review
This depends completely what you’re going to have. Croissant was such a waste of money, 3.75£ for no butter flavour or layers, how do you even call it a croissant?? The sourdough bread was excellent on the other hand. Honestly they should just remove the croissant from the selection and they would have gotten 5 stars from here. A smile in the service wouldn’t hurt either.
Cech G — Google review
I have visited Sweden a few times and one of my favourite things besides the lovely people are the delicious cakes and pastries. So I was really pleased to find out there was a branch of Fabrique in my area. Their signature cardamom and cinnamon buns are delicious and definitely recommended. However, my personal favourites have to be the almond and blueberry buns. They are the perfect weekend treat. The staff at this particular branch are also great. They are friendly and happy to answer questions and make general chat if they are not busy serving customers. My only request would be that I would love if Fabrique also served more traditional Swedish cakes like their bakeries in Sweden. I am sure the British public would love the Princess Cake.
Damien K — Google review
Fabrique is a solid stop for quality baked goods, especially if you’re into Swedish-style buns. The cardamom and almond buns are standouts, rich, flavourful, and perfectly balanced. The cinnamon buns (kanelbullar) come knotted and topped with sugar pearls, slightly firmer than your usual soft rolls, but full of depth. Service is friendly and efficient, even when it’s busy. Prices are fair for central London

We got the chocolate chip cookie which was a bit pricey and it tasted nice, but it could’ve been heated up and made to be softer. The interior is warm with nice music but the floors are a bit dirty and there is a limited seating area (one long bench only, no chairs).
Gabriella — Google review
Located right by Portobello Market in London, is a cool spot we tried. We had this almond Danish there, and honestly, it was amazing. It was packed with fillings, had a bit of a cardamom taste to it, and was super fresh. You could even smell the fresh sourdough they sell, which was nice. The only downside was that there weren’t many places to sit. It got pretty busy, and we ended up waiting around 5-10 minutes to get a seat. But if you don’t mind a short wait, it’s definitely worth checking out. The pastries are top-notch.

Best cardamon buns ever!!! The place was tiny, not so many tables to sit at, but it is a Swedish authentic bakery. A bit pricy, but definitely worth it! 😊next time the cinnamon buns are in the tasting game. 🤩if you’re in London and crazy about bakeries, then it is so highly recommended.

Margot Bakery, located in East Finchley, was founded by two locals who have built a strong reputation for their sourdough-based pastries and bread. The bakery's interior is adorned with Muuto lamps and handmade patterned tiles, creating a cozy atmosphere. The small team of bakers takes three to four days to craft each signature bread, showcasing the bakery's dedication to quality ingredients. Customers are welcomed with friendly smiles and the enticing scent of freshly baked goods upon entering.
This is touted as one of the best bakeries in London and now I completely understand why. The portions are generous, as are the proportions of butter used in each bake. Everything I bought was delicious and full of flavour, proper hearty baking.

The best tuna sourdough sandwich I’ve ever had! Coffee was not to my taste. Despite that- I definitely come back again as it’s the perfect local meet up spot.

Incredibly unfriendly staff. I have been here a few times, always expecting something better however the produce is on par with Lidl bakery. Im not sure what all the fuss is about? It is the only bakery / take away shop for quite a distance so maybe people dont realise there are better options outside of their postcode 🤷🏽‍♀️ wouldn't recommend purely because it is heavily overpriced for standard items and unfriendly atmosphere.
SJ K — Google review
I got an almond croissant and a piece of babka. They are absolutely amazing. Perfect texture, crispiness, and moisture in the bread. If I ever come near this area again, I’ll definitely revisit and try more stuff. Sadly, it doesn’t allow laptop use, so I couldn’t sit down and work for a bit.
Jenny D — Google review
As pointed by some others, the staff is quite unfriendly with no common sense at all. Ordered take away coffee and pastry(no plates or cutlery) and just last minute decided to sit down for 5 mins outside before going. All the tables were empty, no other customer. The staff came out to point out that we said it is take away and were charged accordingly. Absolute non sense , nothing else! They are just profiteering being the only coffee shop on the road. Definitely will skip them for future.

These guys to l do vienoisserie right!! Excellent bakery and variety. I've been here a few times and whilst I keep missing the croissants (I don't have a car and live far away. I can't make it before 10:00 a.m. and they're sold out! It just goes to show how good they must be!) everything else I have tried has been top-notch. I love that they use sourdough in everything which adds a nice tang. The cinnamon buns are buttery and incredibly soft. The babka is delicious and chocolatey, the peanut butter cookies are bomb! Tried both the egg and salmon sandwiches. I love that they add tons of fresh herbs and even a touch of pickles to the egg. Great texture and flavor! If you can get a hand on their savory danishes I highly highly recommend!!!

The Lily Vanilli Bakery, located in Shoreditch, East London, is a charming and trendy destination known for its exquisitely designed cakes and pastries. The bakery's owner, Lily "Vanilli" Jones, has created stunning confections that have caught the attention of celebrities like Elton John and Madonna. We ordered a cake for a friend’s baby shower and it was the most beautiful delicious cake. Everything they do at Lily Vanilli is gorgeous and tastes so good. Highly recommended!

Lovely! It does get very crowded with the flower market. We had the scone (was even warm) and the brownie (salty). Both were delicious. The service was a bit slow though, but friendly.
Soraia A — Google review
I love cake and stopped by Lili Vanilli based on the strong reviews. There were a few options available (most with a cherry theme), I went with the chocolate cherry cake. The cake itself had a nice chocolate flavour, and the buttercream was smooth and generously applied. It tasted like a North American-style cake - the sponge had a tender and moist crumb, fluffier. That said, I was hoping for more cherry presence. Aside from two cherry halves in the filling, there wasn’t much cherry flavour overall and ended up tasting mostly like a chocolate cake. It was served at room temperature, but I think this style of cake might benefit from being slightly chilled. At room temp, the fats in the cake and icing were more noticeable in taste and texture. Located off of Columbia Rd, in a mini alley / courtyard. There is outdoor seating. Lovely on a quiet Saturday afternoon.

If you find yourself wandering through central London, make sure to stop by Little Bread Pedlar, a delightful bakery that has been charming locals and visitors alike since its inception in 2011. Founded by the dynamic duo Nichola Gensler and Martin Hardiman—who serendipitously met at a roller disco—this bakery is renowned for its artisan breads and pastries.
Worth a trip across the city to enjoy this bakery. I had the tunga (sp?) bean with a nice topping. There were a few other items I thought about getting but was on a bakery crawl and could only take some Kuch stuff. The turkey cranberry Danish looked amazing too. The Brichoe bun looks nice too. Have to come back for a visit. Great service and customer satisfaction.

Amazing speciality pastries and treats at this branch that you can't get at the other branches. Flaky, buttery, delicious pastries that satisfy your pastry fix. The coffee here is amazing with a decaf option. The artisan organic sourdough bread from wholegrain to white is super tasty. Queues are long in the morning but it's worth it as they sell out fast, and the queue moves fast.

Great baked breads and treats! The labneh twist is a personal favourite. Baguettes and coffee are nice too
Ahmed Q — Google review
I'm glad I stopped by. I enjoyed my oat flat white which greatly complemented the croissant I got. The croissant was a great bake. It was soft whilst retaining its airiness and flakiness. The notes of salt enhanced the sweetness without it being overbearing. I will definitely be returning to try their other baked goods. The Little Bread Pedlar in Bermondsey is situated under the arches and there wasn't seating available. There was a slender "counter" outside where you could rest your coffee but the space was limited. It's located 10 minutes away from the river Thames, so I got to enjoy both the coffee and croissant at Bermondsey Beach.
Edgar G — Google review
After reading all these positive reviews I had really high hopes for this bakery, as it's been on my to-try list for 2-3 years now. So one Sunday morning after I woke up really early because of post-holiday jetlag, I decided to trek all the way to LBP and finally try it out myself. It had literally just opened when I got there at 8:30, so thankfully there wasn't a queue. It was also super rainy which definitely put people off from coming so early. I had a look the pastries and went with the plain croissant, hazelnut chocolatine, maple pecan swirl and the cinnamon bun. I then went home and tried the cinnamon bun, which I must say wasn't particularly impressed with, as it tasted just very average like any other bakeries out there. It's on the fluffy side, and the sugar on top added some crunch to it. A few hours later, I also tried the hazelnut chocolatine and this was when I got very surprised about the quality of the pastries - it was chewy! Just because I left the pastries aside for a few hours after purchase doesn't mean they should have turned chewy! I was genuinely shocked that it was like that particular given how early I got to the bakery which meant they must have been just baked! It's not flaky, the shape seemed off even though the taste and the filling was great. I have never eaten a croissant-type pastry that's chewy and I don't believe it should ever taste like that. So now I am really confused why others think their pastries were even good?! As someone who has tried millions of bakeries in London and around the world, I am truly disappointed with the quality of LBP. Before my visit to the bakery, I really thought this would turn out so positive that I could start recommending my friends to come. But I guess that's not happening.

This place really lives up to the expectations. The bread is great, light and flavoursome. The croissants are top top level, arguably the best croissant I've had in London, absolutely on par with some of the best croissants you can have in France. Feels like eating a block of butter. Croissant is right there, balance between being flaky and almost raw, but yet almost perfect. The critique for me is easy.... try open earlier!!! 9 am for breakfast is so late, I'd love for this place to be open like a 8.

Me and my family few pastries and bread from this place. Croissant was really good, chicken sausage roll was nice, the miso cookies was delicious, cinnamon bun was okay as it was missing some flavour and their baguettes was really good, soft from inside and crunchy from outside which is hard to find somewhere else. Flor is a bakery and coffee spot which later turns into a wine bar and restaurant. It has been praised for its pastry selection, seating, and kitchen.
Very enjoyable experience. This place is great for a date or dinner with someone very close to you. I highly advise to try and sit at the bar to watch the cooks prepare the food as it is a nice attraction and is not something you often see. The staff is very welcoming and attentive. The food is diverse and delicate. You won't eat much yet you'll feel full. This place is great to try things you wouldn't have imagined existed. I didn't like all the plates we've tried. Maybe it would be good if all the ingredients were listed on the menu to avoid bad surprises. This didn't impact the wonderful dining experience and is only a way to improve it even further. It' cost about £30 per person, which I think is reasonable for the level of attention given to each dish and the quality of the food (I had never seen a chef going through a few basil leaves to pick the right one). Overal, Flor is a place I'd visit again with my best friend or my partner. The food is quite unique and so is the dining experience. Highly recommended.

Love this casual spot in Borough Market. They have absolutely delicious pastries and breads, and the dinner/lunch menu which constantly changes based on the season is really yummy. Throughout lockdown, ASAP pizza 🍕 was the best pizza in town, I hope it makes a comeback at some point.

Wow, the food here is amazing. We tried five small vegetarian plates which were delicious. The interiors are super stylish and the service is excellent. I went to investigate it for my blog and will definitely be writing an article on this restaurant. It's perfect for a cosy lunch date or dinner.

The hype is real on this one... does it deliver? Just about. The latest modern European offering in borough market. Some absolute knockout plates, others not quite there yet. Went a few days after it had opened so we’ll see if they can reach 5* level after my next visit. Interesting menu it must be said. EDIT: post-lockdown visit here was great. ASAP pizza for takeout or delivery is silly good. Thin-crust, sourdough. A lovely baked pie with really interesting toppings sourced from local producers. Lots of other yummy bits and bobs and some class sweet things.

Good food (but pricey). Amazing Lardy bun... But bad service. One of my pet peeves is when you ask if your food is still coming (after waiting 30 mins after the starters have been cleared) and the waitress replies yes without checking with the kitchen. We were waiting so long that the other waitress thought we had finished our meal and she asked if she could clear our plates.
X T — Google review
Although the setting is absolutely lovely and food is good, the price for a few small dishes (5 plus a glass of wine) was too high, even if the location is popular and around other restaurants are not cheap. Maybe more worth it for an aperitif with a couple of dishes.
Erika G — Google review
We had a great experience at Flor, having been there shortly after they opened. The food was really good, the only comment I would make that the scallop tartare had quite sour berries with it which made it slightly difficult to taste the scallops. Everything else we had was absolutely delicious. I really liked the setting as well with the very high ceilings on the first floor. However there were a couple of kinks to work out (probably due to them only having opened recently). The music was relatively loud for the space and it was difficult for me to hear the waiter explaining wines and dishes (as he was standing next to my partner on the other side of the table). The first few dishes came in extremely quick succession, which made us feel very rushed (and logistically difficult to have a number of dishes arriving on a small table). Lastly, for a restaurant with a small plates philosophy, we would have expected to each get a small plate to allow us to easily divide the dishes. But considering the quality of the food, we will definitely be back!

Flor. A great find, tucked away in the heart of the bustling Borough Market - the epicentre of quality food & produce in London. Open plan kitchen, one-page daily sharing taster menu. Typically 2-3 dishes per person. They struck an exquisite balance of taste, texture & creativity. Biodynamic organic wine selection. Passionate & knowledgable staff. Other products like the malt, sourdough loafs and the flapjacks, brownies with a few amaretti are very very good too and definitely would recommend to anyone who likes food!

The almond croissants are to die for! The photo doesn't give much context for size but it is huge! Amazing value for money. The taste is phenomenal! In fact, everything I've ever had from this bakery is amazing. Definitely one of my top two favourite bakeries in the UK. Would fully recommend a visit!

A wonderful little bakery with delicious pastries, coffee and deli. Also a big thank you for stocking oat milk for my coffee! It’s hard to find. Well worth a visit.

How very disappointing today, after all the rave reviews, to buy two very expensive Morning Buns only to find, on reaching home, that they were so stale and leathery I could hardly get my teeth through them. These ludicrously expensive offerings ended up in the bin. Never again.
