The food is good, although I recommend ordering pastries and cakes rather than sandwiches/brunch dishes as baked goods is where Pollen's strength is. Every baked good I tried was fantastic, while the brunch dishes were nothing remarkable. The location is great, and the space is very open and suitable for remote working, as well as it is dog-friendly. Perhaps the biggest negative is that due to the place's size and the fact that remote workers stay there for hours, ordinary customers are often sharing a table with someone else - and the tables are not big. It is a bit uncomfortable if you are trying to have an intimate conversation with friends, and the person next to you is on a meeting with their boss. The place is lovely, but it is way too overhyped on social media. It does not live up to the hype, although I would go there again.

Delicious food!! So good! I would have bought one of their massive sourdough breads that look so tasty but I had no room to take it. A little warm inside, a fan would do well there on hot sunny days. Free self-water, kind service, take your time here as on busy days it is slower. Beautiful being by the riverway.

One of the best breakfast we ever ate! Lovely place,fresh ingredients,super tasy. Especially recommend to try egg benedicts and homemade hashbrowns with kimchi sauce!!! They have also good coffee and fresh pastries🫠

My favourite bakery in Manchester. I used to get my sourdough there a couple of times a week (for me, it’s the best in a very competitive field!) and loved working my way through their pastries and sweet treats. The staff are the absolute best—so friendly and warm. I also love the location; it’s full of natural light, overlooking the marina, with outdoor seating for sunny days. The cooked breakfasts are excellent too. Honestly, everything I’ve had here has been top drawer. 🥐

Pollen is always a solid, consistent choice as a bakery/cafe. Whilst some of their prices have increased to the point where you question why does a small ceasar sandwich needs to cost £9, they still maintain their consistency and quality of products. My favourite Pollen purchase is their bread (and probably the only reasonably priced thing in there, alongside the croissants). You can't go wrong with them, but just bear in mind that the quality is reflected in what you pay.

Came for my birthday brunch with my friends. I had the lemon and blueberry french toast and they both had the hash brown bun. All of the food was absolutely delicious and the coffees were delectable. Shout out to the server who gave me a free cake for my birthday, it made my day!! We will definitely be returning to try out more of the menu!

Loved it!! Just went here on a whim before a day of study and really set us up for the day! We were so excited about everything there was to offer, and had a delicious sausage and egg barm which fueled us up for the day. The loaves looked so so delicious and we will definitely be coming back here again to buy one!!

Food is really over priced and staff that served me was rude & short with me. This is my first time and was really looking forward to the visit but it wasn't worth the hype. The almond croissant I had was average, not even better than what you get from Aldi/Lidl bakery, so not sure why they would charge 4.99 for a tiny flat white & almond croissant. I expected a better quality & overall experience. I love the seating outside though, that's what I mainly came for!

Barbakan is a brilliant local artisan continental bakery, where you can by traditional bakery goods with a twist. It specialises in baked goods and deli products of great quality. Unlike a lot of artisan bakeries around, value for money is high. I regularly get the carrot cake, Polish Twix (highly recommend) and their fresh baked bagels (for a make-at-home delight) Their lunch menu is comprehensive, with a range of hot toasted sandwiches (I recommend the Mediterranean sizzler), other hot food and a deli section with interesting cheeses and meats. On Saturdays they have a German bbq outside, in their outdoor seating area which is wheelchair accessible. In addition to the bakery and hot food kitchen, Barbakan sells a range of artisan cooking ingredients and treats for at home (think condiments, spices, oils, garnishes galore) I will add, at busy times the hot sandwiches often sell out, and they periodically close their kitchen to change over staff just outside of peak times (which is often when I go- so I’ve been disappointed a couple of times!) All around highly recommended for a bakery snack or a great value lunch.

People travel miles to come here me from Yorkshire (I'm on a nostalgia fest, I used to come here in the 1950's through 1970's when I lived locally). Polish and Italian food and drinks, I note there is now an outside seating area for hot drinks and eats, plus a BBQ area. I bought a selection of Salads; Nutty Ham and Polish Sausage for friends (I'm a veggie) and Poppy Seed Cakes to take back with me, all yum (carnie friends loved the meat). Accessibility: Ramp to the right, then level. Car Parking: On street, however, there are extensive road works for installing cycle lanes. I was however able to park on a side street. Bus: Chorlton Library stop very close. Staff: Very friendly and helpful. The store was quite busy, but I did not have to wait too long to be served! Definitely worth a visit!

Normally a decent experience here. Just been in in the middle of the day and the kitchen is closed for a bit so no sizzlers. OK, fair enough. No sandwiches either. 🤨 I ask the staff to make me a sandwich and they proceed to get a loaf and put it in a bag, measure out coleslaw into a tub (£1.99) etc etc. telling me they have no way to charge me for a cheese and coleslaw sandwich unless I make it myself. Is this a weird dream? Am I still normal if I expect staff in a deli to be able to make me a simple sandwich? 🤔 It’s not the fault of the staff although the vibe in here does seem to have dipped recently. They just don’t have the autonomy to do simple things, clearly. I gave up in the end and went to Tesco. How depressing. What are visitors from NYC gonna think!? Come on Barbakan, giz a butty already! 😫

This is essentially a bakery with a large covered seating area outside it also serves a range of delicatessen foods cook meats, freshly baked bread and the fantastic selection of pastries crisis I now believe our little on the High side however the coffee and cake offer for £5 is unbeatable. The coffee is fantastic. The cakes are wonderful and outside most of the day there is a stand selling grilled sausages and meats. However for me this is at the High end of pricey for a sausage in a bun at between seven and £9. The view from the Terrace is less than inspiring dirty street glitter Park cars and derelict buildings

Always a nice place to stop by. While the service can sometimes feel a little indifferent, there are also friendly staff who make the experience enjoyable. The pastries, bread, and sandwiches are consistently good, and the Saturday outdoor stall is a great bonus.

AMAZING! I bought the caramel pistachio cruffin, pistachio croissant, and Brazilian sausage roll. All of them were delicious but I'd say the cruffin was too sweet and didn't have much pistachio. I'd recommend that they did a pistachio and chocolate one instead! The Brazilian sausage could of had cut up evenly dispersed sausage. However, the pistachio croissant was the best, with a generous actual pistachio cream and brilliant croissant that was light! The queue was also abit ridiculous, maybe they should have a separate city centre location just to sell and spread people.

So this fabulous original Bakery now has a larger cafe, next to the original place. Amazing coffee and such a delicious display of croissants etc, took me a long time to decide. Definitely worth a visit.

New decorations are so charming and cozy. The staff’s service is so amazing. I tried the pistachio croissant for two times, all fabulous! Maybe next try I’ll try the almond croissant 🥐

These cruffins have been a real comfort. The Flat Baker has been a quiet highlight in my week. I’ve been dealing with a few personal challenges recently, and taking one of their incredible cruffins to go — then heading down to the marina — has become a small but grounding ritual of care. It’s rare to find somewhere that gets flavour, texture, and comfort just right in one bite — but they do. Grateful to have this place close by.

Visited yesterday, asked for recommendations and Filipe was a hospitality expert. This gent surpassed all expectations. He even knew the heritage of the small city I’m from which nobody else in Manchester has even known the location. He gave great product recommendations, I read others say best bake they’ve had. Must agree. Filipe was the star of the show though - what a welcoming guy! Flat Bakery is lucky to have him 💯

Popped in here to get a 2G2GO bag and it seemed to be their first day of a new premises opening. A lot bigger than expected and the pastries I got were delicious. Even the cheese balls were alright. A little bit pricey for my usual spend but a solid pastry shop guess those prices are the norms in the high end ones

I recently visited Companion this morning and tried their croissant and seeded bread. The croissant was absolutely perfect—light, flaky, and buttery, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture that rivals those from the best Parisian bakeries. The seeded bread was equally impressive, with a delightful crunch from the seeds and a soft, airy interior. It was fresh, flavorful, and perfect for sandwiches or on its own with a bit of butter. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I'll definitely be coming back for more of their delicious baked goods!

Everything was delicious! We tried five types of pastries and the coffee was excellent. The décor is beautiful and the seating area is spacious.

Beautiful bakery. Feels authentic from the offset and the fact you can see the open kitchen is a bonus. I love the variability in the baked goods. We had the cardamon roll which was CHEFS KISS perfection. The banana cake was delicious and the olives in the focaccia made it! The flaky almond croissant with the delicious filling was to die for. Coffees were great, sad there weren’t any syrups though! Friendly staff and lovely (but limited) seating outside. Don’t be put off by the queue, it’s fast moving.

The staff are so attractive you think you be intimidated, luckily they are so friendly and welcoming. Best bread and pastries in town. Faultless sourdough, would recommend the Madbrod, amazing curried potato sandwich, huge portion for the price.

Great bakery with a good selection of pastries. I only tried some of the savoury options and I have to recommend the sausage roll, it was amazing. The sausage was well seasoned and cooked and it was delicious. The curry potato roll/bread was also really good and it was massive.

Really nice fresh bakes! I got the cheese and garlic brioche and the cinnamon bun, both had really nice flavors that weren't too overpowering. We went on a Saturday morning around 11am, so we had to queue but it moved fast, we only waited for 10 minutes

Firstly it’s definitely worth booking to get a table here and I’m glad we did! We had a warm welcome from the staff and wow the menu was amazing. There were lots of gluten free options and I was told all the cooking for gluten free was done separately which is exceptional! I had a lush gluten free toastie and the biggest piece of cheesecake I’ve ever seen! Mostly all their cakes are gluten free as well, apart from the scones Would definitely recommend for gluten free

I just popped in for breakfast. Now, as an American that usually means coffee and muffin/roll/scone (nothing like a British scone). I'm not celiac BUT my gastro AND my endo think I should avoid gluten as much as possible. Sadly, scones are the only baked good that isn't GF at Marmalade. I went with fruit crumble and custard sauce. It was wonderful. They brought my custard on the side (Americans!!!). I was glad, as it had a subtle sweetness with vanilla finish. The crumble itself was the perfect level of sweetness and crisp.

Amazing selection of gluten free cakes. Great to find somewhere that has a whole selection of home-made GF cakes. I didn’t sample them all but the cherry and almond was amazing Lots of fuss for the dog too

Called in after visiting the Cathedral. Wanted a drink and a light bite keep us going. Sat at the table straight away as it was later in the afternoon, but we're people in. The lovely lady came to the table and took our order for drinks and food. The sandwich I ordered was lovely, freshly made and a nice side salad, mate had cheese and pepper panini. There was a great selection of cakes but didn't try any. I recommend you visit if hungry or thirsty. A very friendly place, chatted to a customer while in there. Will definitely nip in again if in Chester.

Lovely brunch! Boyfriend had a full English which he enjoyed and I had English muffin with bacon and scrambled eggs. The scrambled eggs were divine! Staff lovely also! If you are looking for brunch/brekkie go here!

Fantastic service from friendly staff. The food is cooked fresh and is great to set you up for the day, in traditional British style. A good range of non meat options, with both vegan and vegetarian featuring prominently. An honest British 'caff' style, worth visiting. 😎

The service was perfect friendly and attentive staff who really made us feel welcome. We ordered the KP Full English and the Manc Muffin breakfast, and both were amazing. The bacon on top had the best flavour!

I got the English breakfast no black pudding no eggs and it was delicious and filling. My first taste of an English breakfast and I was pleased! The smoothie was delicious as well. It was quite busy and there was a 30 minute wait to be seated. We walked away and came back. It was cute they had their name on the plates. I’d come back here again!

Nice vibes inside, very cozy, nice music selection. Them loaded fries was unbelievable probably the BEST I’ve ever had, they’re a big portion which is great but we were too full to finish them off.

Food and Coffee is very good! Recommend highly, especially if you're hungover. We had Full English, and Chicken and Waffles which was the daily special.

We visited last sunday for brunch. The place was busy but still had a few empty tables. We were told that there is a 20 minute wait. When we got back after 20 minutes we were sat to our table. The staff took ages to take our order. We ordered the American pancakes and asked if they could not add the meat on but an extra egg. The waitress informed us the the extra egg would be charged extra, even though we would not be getting the sausage party and bacon. I ordered the chicken waffle, the mixture of flavours did not really suit my palet and was not very tasty. I have not been for years but it has definitely changed and not for the best. On a positive note dogs are welcome, however, I could not see a water bowl and was not offered one.

Really enjoyed our breakfast here. I had the tomatoes on bread which was delicious and my partner had mushrooms on toast with a poached egg. The egg could have been a bit runnier. The staff were really friendly and attentive. The good quality cutlery and crockery is also nice to see. Coffee was delicious. A bit expensive but well worth it.

We had a great breakfast - early on a Sunday Coffee is very good, and the menu has many options. Everything was well prepared. Waffles are excellent and my walnut coffee small cake was perfect. We really liked the interior as well and the service was friendly

I have tried numerous matcha in Japan and Korea , so wanted something similar as knowing UK matcha are not up to the Japanese standard , and this has prove my point, this is by far 1 of the horrible matcha latte I’ve tried because it tastes like lemongrass. Don’t think I’ll be back for anything else.

Came here for the first time in summer 2022 and had a great time visiting again this December 2024. The storm couldn't keep me away from a breakfast menu and coffee that's as fantastic as ever! Amazing service and made my toddler very welcome too.

Cute place. Came for afternoon tea after exploring the city. Service was a little slow. Had to ask for tap water three times before we were finally served some. Tea was nice. Had some history upstairs which added to the character. Don’t sit upstairs during the winter! It’s freezing, but I imagine spring and summer are lovely.

Looks really lovely from the outside, with plenty of customers. Given the location possibly first time customers, visitors to the area, etc. The staff were all female and all looked very young, and lacked friendly conversation. We ordered the Full English Breakfast, whereby the usual breakfast items, beans & black pudding were an additional £0.75p. We swapped the fried bread for black pudding. We also ordered a coffee and a tea. As you can see from the pictures, the breakfast looked ok, though tasted greasy, bland and dry. The toast was half toasted on 1 side only, dry bacon, mushrooms shrivelled dry and tasteless, the saussage was full of fat and tasted awful. This was the worst cooked breakfast I have ever had. We both left half the breakfast and paid. We were charged for the black pudding, even though it was a swap. Total price £20.25. Pointless complaining as the staff looked to young and preferred not to embarrass them. As a result this post will reach the 657,000 people on my google reviews. Warning - have breakfast elsewhere.

Lovely little tearoom housed in a building that is over 700 years old. The afternoon tea, it's self was nice, you are given 3 halves of sandwiches (cheese & tomato, Salmon & egg) a scone and then you get to chios from a selection of cakes and teas/coffees. It appears very popular, as was very busy when we arrived. The toilets are a fair walk, if you need to go

We stumbled in here on a rainy day looking for some gluten free options, of which we found several !! The lunch selections were decent, and the *meal* prices were incredibly fair. The food was admittedly somewhat simple, my husband loved the leek and potatoe soup which came as part of the special. We got the impression the focus was put more on the bakery and drinks so I had to try some gluten free caramel apple crumble pie. MY GOD was it good !! However, it was nearly £6 for one lone slice. Having said that, it was surprisingly WORTH that much (but maybe just the once) The soft drinks I must admit were absurdly priced (over £4!!) and teeny tiny. The staff seemed quite friendly, however they were very busy as the place appeared to be quite popular, particularly for drinks. May return for the gluten free menu and affordable lunch, and will dream of the apple pie, but a little thrown off by the underwhelming meals and the high prices of other items. I am also celiac and faced no adverse reactions whatsoever.

Found this place on the first day of our visit to Chester. Very rare to find a place with a proper vegan menu, so I was sold. The staff were friendly, the building is lovely, food was delicious (I had the Thai inspired burger, but was too hungry and enjoying it too much to take a photo!). We liked the place and the options so much, we came back again for the second day of our trip, when I only had a vegan cheese and onion sandwich because I wanted to leave room for a pudding! If we’d stayed a week, I think we would have been able to eat there every day, which is a rare thing for a vegan to say! Next time we’re in Chester, we’ll be back…

Strolling around Chester, my Dad & I were looking for somewhere for lunch. We came across Katie's & were so glad we did. We can highly recommend the club sandwich & the coronation chicken. The staff were friendly & welcoming. The atmosphere was relaxed & there were seating areas across several floors.

I visited here for a small lunch. Very nice place over three floors with lovely staff. We got a vegetarian breakfast (beware it doesn’t come with baked beans as standard!) and the leek and potato soup with cheese sandwich. The latter was disappointingly watery with an overwhelming taste of just celery. The sandwich was a couple of small triangles with the dry cheese all falling out. The breakfast was reasonable good. Service couldn’t be faulted. Not so sure I would go again.

Just had an excellent 2 night stay here. Service was excellent and our room was lovely, clean comfortable and very quiet at night. The air conditioning was extremely easy to use and was very effective. Breakfast both days was very nice. Parking in the Grovensor Centre Car Park (chargeable) allowed for very easy access to the hotel and it felt safe to leave the car there. Our thanks to all.

My wife and I stayed here the night of our wedding, along with our immediate families. The rooms were incredibly luxurious and spacious with lots of care and attention paid to them. Bed was incredibly comfy - we didn't want to ever leave! The breakfast the next day - which was most needed - was delicious and fresh, and everyone enjoyed it. A huge thank you to the staff who really went the extra mile to assure that we had a wonderful evening when we arrived and throughout our stay. From organising the block booking of rooms, to arranging breakfast for us all the following day to the personal touches special to my wife and I to celebrate. We're locals to the city and it was truly a wonderful experience to get to stay here.

As expected the hotel was fantastic. The staff couldn't do enough for us, every area was very clean. Yes this is a more expensive hotel, but you really do get what you pay for. If you want the afternoon tea book in advance as this is popular Worth a visit if you can.

Wow how the mighty have fallen this used to be the best hotel in the area with a Michelin starred restaurant and a member of the leading hotels in world. Now it’s a pale shadow it’definitely shouldn’t be 5 stars anymore. A lot of the staff are either rude, very rude or couldn’t give a damn and the rooms a very tired and dated. Very sad to see, it used to be a lovely place for a luxurious treat…now all you will get is a headache or a nostalgic pang for what it was.

Wonderful location. The accommodation size and quality is what we expected for the price of a suite. We did have one precariously wonky and unstable table. The bed was incredibly comfy. We enjoyed being able to order breakfast to the room.

Plentiful afternoon tea in elegant surroundings. Great views! Asked as soon as we arrived if we'd like still or sparkling water (money spinner). Opted for Tap water. Lovely sandwiches and cakes. The scones were disappointing, overcooked and too hard-replaced on asking with fresh. £43 for a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc. Pleasant, efficient staff.

The place itself is quite nice. We went for drinks. I asked for two different whiskies, one of which the staff hadn't heard of despite it being on the menu. For two large reds, a double and a single Johnnie Walker, it was £47! But to add insult to injury, they added on a 10% tip! Our table was next to the bar so what was done to warrant it? I know they will say we can ask to take it off but they know customers don't want to have the conversation so it actually cost over £50. I'd love the business to justify the tip. We are not in the USA and if they aren't paying their staff enough then that's on them. It's not my responsibility to pay the staff. I will not be back.

We visited Abode Chester on Saturday 22nd February. Food was good! Location was lovely. However, the service was absolutely terrible considering it was a group paying over £300. We ordered Afternoon Tea which was supposed to come with free refillable hot drinks, however not once did anybody come over to see if we wanted extra refreshments, we had to go up and chase, we had already been there 30/40 minutes at this point. Again with standard drinks, we had to go up, then eventually someone would come over and ask us. Additionally, there was not enough cutlery or plates, despite booking the table with the amount of people attending in advance. This is really disappointing as the restaurant was not busy, and there was more than enough staff by the looks of it. We were just left. This is not what I would expect from this type of establishment. Staff did not greet us on arrival, and I feel they were quite hostile, again, for this type of establishment, this is not what you would expect. We were also overcharged as the menu stated £25pp, instead we were charged over £26pp. We also paid a service charge of around £30 which I did not realise at the time otherwise, I would’ve requested for this to be removed as the service was awful. After paying over £300 for mediocre food and appalling service, we could’ve gone to Grosvenor Pulford for similar, but incredible service! I never leave reviews however, this has truly been one of the worst experiences that not just me, but the whole group experienced. Unfortunately, due to the service we will not be coming back again.

Absolutely terrible meal, from start to finish. Bad food, but even worse service. The manager was also terrible and I deeply regret spending my time and money on the restaurant. Would never return.

Had afternoon tea, food ok but no facilities to bring home what you don't eat and it's to expensive to waste at £26pp. Staff very clumsy, knocked over milk and was going to walk away from cleaning it up and did not bring any more. They eggnored any contact once the food was served for drinks refill.

High expectations. Let down. Family Christmas meal was really poor in the end. Poor greeting from the staff. Service was confused and poor. Slow to do anything, no knowledge of the menu, no knowledge of our pre booked booking and what was included. Drinks were poor. Food was average. Wouldn’t recommend, and you pay a pretty penny to top it all off..

Really lovely spot in Chester. We were going up for a girls trip and stopped for some Brunch. The presentation is lovely and the Welsh rarebit was exactly what I expecting! I would have loved it even more if the potions were a bit bigger as I found myself ordering some extra toast on the side to keep me full.

Taste-wise, it was okay, quite similar to what you’d expect from a typical brunch place. The staff were generally friendly, which we appreciated. However, when we paid our bill (around £31–32) with £40, one of the staff asked, “Do you want change?” That made my husband and me feel a bit uncomfortable. We usually leave a tip without being asked, but in this case, the way it was handled felt a little awkward, so we decided not to tip. Overall, it was a decent visit. Beautiful setting and warm vibes, but there’s a bit of room for improvement with the food and service approach.

Decided to go to Chester for breakfast on our way home from a summer party and found The Flower Cup - lovely little place. Breakfast was mighty - think I had half a loaf, with whole avacodo and a side of smoked salmon. Absolutely delicious and rolled out - eggs Royal was pretty special too!

Lovely little café with lots of greenery and a relaxed vibe. I had the Hot Honey Halloumi French Toast (£12), which was really good—though they swapped pomegranate for blueberries, which changed the flavour slightly. My partner had the Maple Syrup French Toast (£10.30) with an added poached egg (£2.50) and enjoyed it. We didn’t wait long, and service was good albeit a little miserable from our server, she didn't seem interested in being there at all. A nice spot for brunch in Chester.

The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring we felt welcomed from the moment we walked in. The menu offered a great variety of options, from freshly brewed coffee to delicious pastries and hearty brunch dishes. I tried their signature avocado toast and a latte, both of which were absolutely delicious—fresh ingredients and perfectly balanced flavors. The coffee was rich and aromatic, clearly made with high-quality beans. The prices were reasonable for the quality, and the service was quick without feeling rushed. The only minor suggestion would be to add a few more vegan options to the menu.

We went to an expensive wedding - everthing included. We satyed (about 2 years ago) in one of the turret rooms. The room was very dated - not quite avocado green but dated. Numous settling cracks in the paintwork, dust big style begind the tv. Paintwork needed a wipe. Nice view but very tired feel. Staff were very good. Good breakfast. Quad outside had litter. Car park ok but bit of a walk and your car will end up with loads of leaves on it. There is a disco room downstairs which felt pink tacky. The mens toilet smelt of pee. I would never go again as we paid £250-300 for a night. The 2 stars are for the staff.

We had our full wedding day at Peckforton and it was absolutely amazing. They were fantastic from the moment we booked with them, all their communication in the lead up to the wedding was great and kept us well informed and we felt like nothing was too much trouble for them. The venue is so stunning, all of our guests were amazed on the day and it felt so magical there. We stayed at the hotel the night prior to the wedding which was lovely, being able to get ready there without the stress of making our way to the venue in the morning was such a big help. A lot of our guests also stayed the night of the wedding and all of them were so impressed with the rooms and being able to stay in a castle felt really special. The team working on the wedding day were excellent. Everything was done for us without us having to chase them or even ask for updates, the whole day just flowed so effortlessly and we were able to enjoy ourselves without the stress of checking what was happening. Also the wedding breakfast food was delicious, all of our guests said how nice it was and were really happy with the food. We opted for a hog roast in the evening which was also delicious and so filling, nobody left hungry! Can't recommend Peckforton enough if you are looking for a magical wedding that will be unforgettable to your friends and family! Birthday treat of afternoon tea. Excellent food and staff. No idea what the rest of the facilities are like but the lovely (small) wedding party seemed to be having fun. Plenty of parking although the road from the c.p.to the castle was a bit uneven- as warned by appropriate signage (thumbs up). Also electric charging stations in c.p. Well worth another visit.

We stayed here for 2 nights 6-8th October 2025. It was fabulous! The venue is just beautiful. The staff and the service they provided was brilliant! Nothing was too much trouble. The food served at breakfast was really good quality with a variety of choices. It was delicious and service was very friendly and efficient. We opted to have dinner at 2010 Brasserie and can honestly say I have never had such a delightful and tasty gnocchi dish. I would definitely recommend a visit to Peckforton Castle. It isn't cheap but you get very well looked after. If you can afford an executive room it is definitely a lovely experience <3

Had our wedding here, I can’t put into words how amazing it was. Our wedding co-ordinator Molly was so lovely and so helpful! As were the wedding team on the morning of the wedding. We all enjoyed staying in the hotel the night before and the breakfast was lovely!! If your thinking about booking your wedding here, DO IT!!

Came Halloween for Murder Mystery Evening with 10 friends. £65 a head which included a choice of one starter, two mains and one dessert, and the Murder Mystery. It was based on being in a movie and the production was poor, the engagement with the guests were poor, the sound quality was terrible and most of it was inaudible. The food was of poor quality, really poor, for a venue if such stature it was really disappointing. No table service was offered and the drinks were seriously pricey, even by today's standards. I have been previously and my experience was nothing like this, not writing the venue off completely but my expectations will be very low. I didn't stay over so cant comment on the rooms. It seems like they have cut back massively on quality as a lot of businesses have to cope with rising costs Shame

We stayed 19th September in the Tollemache suite. Highly recommended. The suite is huge, spacious living room, bedroom and bathroom with roll top bath and shower. Stunning views of the castle grounds and beautifully presented. We opted for dinner in the Brasserie and we were not disappointed. Delicious meals cooked fresh and wonderfully presented, compliments to the chef! Service was faultless. The serving staff were really helpful and recommended an adaptation to my meal to suit my dietary requirements. Would happily book again.

Tasty, fresh, vibrant lunch. Bear updates its menu every few months (although their favourites remain constant). It’s a casual dining experience indoors and you order at the counter. Several people choose to bring their laptops to work from here. Peaceful view over the river & outdoor seating if dry/warm. We are regulars

My favourite vegan haunt in Northwich. I took my husband here yesterday for birthday brunch. We both ended up having the latke breakfast bowl, which was super delish, nutritious and very filling. The ambience is always very relaxing and the staff are lovely. 5/5

Lovely restaurant spot with it being on the river. Great calm atmosphere with opportunity to play board games and do some colouring with the kids. Food was amazing, though we had the crispy chef on and had to get our burnt sausages re done, staff were welcoming and very helpful to resolve issues. Food was spot on for breakfast with a lot of variety to choose from.

I hate leaving negative reviews but on this occasion it can't be helped. This was my third and final visit to Bear sadly. I ordered Chicken and Bacon pancakes that was £15.90 and took 45 minutes to arrive then when it finally came the chicken was completely inedible. I'd have sent it back if I hadn't already waited so long for it. The prices are too high for what you get so I never made it a regular visit but for a treat now and again I accepted it. My previous 2 visits were pleasent enough but after today I can't say I'll be back.

A rare date night without the kids at Bear. Great food, good beer and lovely service from the front of house. We come often for breakfast, but will absolutely return for dinner.

I have been loyal customer over last 2 years and the Bear used to be my favourite local place for lovely brunch. I recommend it numerous of times to my friends and family and visited with people from outside of area and they all loved it. Today's visit was so disappointing that I have to leave bad review. My little one's sausage must of been left under the heater for well too long, it was all dry so asked for another one that unfortunately we never received. My poached egg was basically hard boiled egg but that was kindly replaced, then I was also missing a butter with my breakfast. I understand that the restaurant was super busy and this kind of mistakes can happen but it was just too many for one table, if that makes sense. Like one thing after another. From what I saw all the sausages were in the bowl under the light just drying to hell. Even my sourdough toast seemed that has been left just sitting there dry for ages. I don't think we will come back for the weekend visit again. Just not worth the money. I have to say though all your staff is amazing and they always been kind to us

Big deception. We ordered egg baps with extra turkey. after, they reported that they had no eggs, they suggested replacing them with chicken. in the end, they brought us baps without an additional portion of turkey, only with chicken. however, we paid more than we should have. bad experience.

Very bizarre experience!!! We have called in here a few times when we visit Chester and have a coffee and breakfast barm, there are normally a couple of young girls serving and even when it's busy they are courteous, efficient and manage a smile. Today there were two older women behind the counter, one of the "woman" we have seen in here before (she never looks like a smile has ever troubled her face) We won't say they worked here as we saw very little work, I was the only person at the counter my wife sat at one table and only two other tables were occupied, one woman looked in our direction and then slipped behind the screen (weird behaviour) and the other stayed at the top of the shop making an effort NOT to make eye contact! We assumed they must be busy preparing food for the occupied tables but both tables had food and drink!!. After a few minutes the remaining woman walked down the shop to where we waited but avoided eye contact and never acknowledged us! NO "I'll be with you in a bit" NO "won't be a minute" NO smile, NOTHING! she looked the other way and made a show of moving some trays around and not making eye contact!!!!! Another customer walked in took a look at her, turned to his wife, rolled his eyes and his wife signaled for him to leave, which he promptly did shaking his head!!! I waited another minute but feeling awkward signalled to my wife to leave and promptly did. What am I missing? Is this some sort of "faulty towers" experience? Or is this one of those businesses that don't need customers? Walk across the road to "Starbucks" or walk up the stairs there is a café above "pandora" and the staff are happy to serve.

Saw this place in passing. Good choice of sandwich options - can include extras. A bit of queue with only a couple of staff on, and limited seating area downstairs. Although, good customer service, and rather nice food so I would go here again.

Been going here for over 10 years. Never again. It's now sadly a total rip-off. £6 for a bacon on toast. When previously (and at other branches) it was always u der a fiver. Appalling attitude and service from the staff and as for the "manager", she needs to wind her neck in and learn what customer service is about. Absolutely discusted.

The cafe served fresh food made to order. The gentleman who served us was friendly and helpful. We got served promptly and the surroundings were clean and comfortable. The portions are quite big so if you don't have a huge appetite maybe best to share. A good variety of food and drink available and suitable for most diets.

One extremely rude woman who shouldn't serve people as she has no customer service skills, tutting and rolling her eyes as we ordered,served our food on dirty plates, got funny when we asked for clean plates, didn't clean the table before we ate, when I took our Copenhagen slices back and asked if we could choose something else as they had hardly any jam filling and they weren't the same as what they used to be, she was rude again, luckily another woman who actually has customer service skills intervened and kindly helped us, we selected another cake and there was no problems. Shame you employ people like that first lady, as it ruins people's experiences and gives your company a bad reputation. She shouldn't be customer facing at all, shocking and embarrassing

Unless you're happy to be served by the world's grumpiest and slowest staff then don't bother, walked in with a cheery hello for Karen to greet me with a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp, all 3 staff were then in the back and we could hear them moaning about how 'its not working'.... maybe start with serving your customers. We took the last 2 sausage rolls and then they decided to put more in the oven...maybe think ahead before you run out. Food was ok but the meat is dry....could do with gravy! Over priced for what it is, don't bother!

Had such a lovely experience today at Sextons. Our waitress went above and beyond with both service and friendliness. When my husband couldn’t decide which of the soups to have and left it to the chef to decide we ended up with a bowl of both! (equally delicious though chicken and chorizo won my vote). My ploughman’s was superb as was the coffee and cakes. All the staff were incredibly friendly. We will probably stay in Lymm an extra day to sample the ice cream too. Thank you! A lovely afternoon all round.

The lovely place in Lymm near the canal. I had some breakfast and coffee with my wife. The service is good and all the people there smile. What a great morning. Highly recommend having a walk through the footpath near the canal after breakfast.

Had to update my review of sextons... first time I went (pics) great service and great food and great experience However came a 2nd time May bank holiday weekend and unfortunately experience was rubbish... waitress forgot to write down my order, on the second occasion after this got the order wrong, our drinks arrived (coffees) stone cold and although this isn't the owners fault annoying dogs trying to eat off your tables etc First experience very good second experience very bad

What a fab cafe, shop and bakery! We stumbled across this when we stopped to visit another cafe in the area (sssh don’t tell them 😂) as we were mooching down by the river before breakfast. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. We were buying some items from the shop first and they said we could just add those to our total bill if we wanted to eat breakfast first. Food was delicious. Drinks were great. Brilliant portions of both! Will definitely be adding this to my favourite places to stop again! ❤️

Nice choice of freshly made sandwiches, soups and pastries / cakes. It can get very busy at lunch time as it's a popular place for lunch for everyone in the village. It's also only a out 10 seconds away from the duck pond and 5 mins from the dam so it's nice to get a takeaway lunch on a nice hot day and sit on one of the benches nearby. Theres plenty of seating indoors and benches outside too. They also have a decent range of breads and cheeses etc. Highly recommended.

This cupcakery was fantastic when it opened years ago but is consistently terrible now. The cupcakes are never fresh, always dry and the buttercream so hard that it’s like eating a block of icing. I appreciate these are probably days old stock due to not wanting to waste food but at a premium price of £3.50 per tiny cake, you absolutely expect much better. Won’t be using again despite being a customer since day 1.

Amazing service from ordering my Daughters 5th Birthday cake, nothing was too much trouble after she changed her mind from Hello Kitty to Labubu! She absolutely loved her cake and it was yummy, as always! We dont visit Trafford Centre without going home with some rainbow cake its our favourite, The Second year I have ordered her birthday cake from here and it is well worth every penny and the travelling from Liverpool! So I'm going to start this off with no fault of Hey Little Cupcake but my own for lack of understanding maths and how big the birthday cake was going to be that I ordered, I just picked the biggest size cause I thought that would be perfect for 30 kids... Well the cake was absolutely huge and a massive hit the decorations were beautiful and we loved how Rapunzel's hair came down the cake to, we had so many compliments on the cake! We got rainbow filling and when we cut into it was absolutely amazing. The cake was lovely to everyone took extra and it tasted amazing. Don't be like me though and order the biggest for 30 kids, my family will be eating cake for weeks now... 🤣 💛

Such a lovely little place, I booked a surprise for my sister, mum, our children and myself. The staff was lovely, they also allowed me to bring a couple of bits for my son who has a Milk allergy, they displayed it on his own little afternoon tea stand so he didn't feel left out, which he absolutely loved! I have never seen him as made up as he was. The communication from booking was fantastic. Definitely recommend and definitely will be visiting when we are in Manchester again. We had an absolutely wondertul dining experience, especially , Saman. She was incredibly welcoming from the moment we sat down. Her knowledge of the menu was impressive. Saman had the perfect balance of being attentive without being intrusive. The restaurant is lucky to have such a dedicated and professional staff member. We'll definitely be back.

Truly fantastic curry house and as calling mid afternoon there was no problem getting one of the few tables available. Everything cooked to order and able to eat the 3 curry and rice with a chapati and still get change out of a tenner.

Authentic, affordable, quick and unbelievably flavorful selection of curries, kebabs and samosas etc. Curries also cooked to order but well worth it. A gift that keeps on giving! Card machine also a bonus! PS don't judge a book by its cover, especially with this place!

Pound for pound one of the best curries I’ve ever had. £8 for rice and three and the quality is right up there with curries I have paid double, triple for. Don’t let the surroundings put you off. This is well made, freshly made Indian food as it’s best. Alcohol not served but you don’t need it as it’s a fairly quick service

Absolutely amazing food. The lamb jalfrezi fell apart and tasted incredible along with the chicken Karahi and keema and potato. The nan was fresh and so light. Best curry I think I’ve ever had. Thank you and will definitely be back 👌🏼

Great little place, quite popular as I had to wait 5 minutes to get my coffee but it was a nice atmosphere. I had a coffee and a cinnamon donut which was tasty, there were 3 vegan donut options and they had oat milk (charged 30p extra for). Would go again if in area.

It's disappointing there aren't more vegan options. I did ask about an ingredients list with regards to the non vegan options and was told they don't have one. I wasn't expecting them to, but it would have been nice. Regardless, the Coffee Donut was very appetising. The Iced Latte that helped wash it down was also very good. I've knocked down one star due to the fact that the indoor seating area isn't very welcoming, featuring fairly uncomfortable and weird looking seating. They do have an outdoor seating area which is a lot nicer. Prices are very high for what you get and they have the gall to ask for tips when you're paying an already steep price. Tips should be based on the overall service, not before you've even tried the food.

I was on a quick trip to Manchester for a gig, and a friend of mine told me to visit this coffeeshop, and honestly? It is now my turn to highly recommend this place. The staff is friendly and the coffee tasted DELICIOUS. If you love great coffee, this coffeeshop should definitely be on your list. Also how cute is this flatwhite mug??? Their colorful decoration is so cute and definitely sparks some inspiration. Wish I'd brought my sketchbook. If I stayed in Manchester longer, I'm sure I could spend entire days here. Also, I've never been much of a donut fan as I don't really like sweet things, yet I still tried out their tiramisu donut and I am not disappointed. It is so perfectly balanced. They also have a selection of savoury snacks so I took a sandwich to go. Looking forward to eating it already!

We had a lovely visit to Siop Shop this morning. The doughnuts were delicious (we had apple fritters and pistachio cream). Hibiscus iced tea was lovely, and filter coffee got a great review from my husband. (Not a coffee drinker personally, but he says it's tricky to make filter coffee that tastes delicious so kudos to the staff!) The interior is funky and the seating area super cute.

This is my second visit to Siop Shop and I’ve been nothing but impressed by them. Yesterday was a prime example of a coffee shop that nails the management of a busy shop with great customer service. I decided to change my order last minute and it was no problem and I got a delicious pour over from Ecuador, and the guy serving made sure I was enjoying it, giving me a lil rundown of its origin and tasting notes. The atmosphere in the shop is truly perfect, great music, relaxed vibe, amazing skate shop/art decor interior. Amazing shop in Manchester!

What a bad experience it was to visit one of popular spot at Manchester. Cakes are terrible looks great but no taste .. waste of 20 pounds on cakes. Classic and brown sugar is but stronger side as not authentic Chinese tea .. tastes like local early grey English tea mix. Ordered 5 sesame balls but they given red bean balls .. careless customer service. I only recommend fresh buns n breads from this place. They are worth the money.

Very fresh bakery and you can even see the kitchen. The pastas din sums were delicious and coffee & milk tea was good.

Always busy because the bread are so authentic , just like what we ate back in Hong Kong but bigger with more fillings. There are so many varieties we could try but definitely missed the rice dumplings which is only available during festivals once a year.

Been here twice and was pleasantly surprised both times, usually come around 11-12 after my morning class and isnt busy, i absolutely love their baked goods, especially the pandan and cream cakes and staff have been lovely both times iv been. Id say its a good price for the amount you get, plus its freshly made. Good variety of sweet and savory treats and its also a nice and calm environment. Bonus for now accepting contactless payments too. 10/10 will be coming back

On holiday for a few days and decided to try the local bakers. Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed as both sandwiches and one of the cakes were stale. The filling was very poor with the people serving not knowing what ingredient were in them. Definitely would not use this chain of bakers again.

The staff are lovely but unfortunately the food was not good .the bean and sausage pasty was cold and didn't contain a singular sausage, the sausage roll had an unpleasant chemical taste and the texture was like slush.

UPDATED: Let the van driver know about the issues and was offered a refund for the pie and a free sandwich. Great customer service. I don't know what store runs the delivery vans, but it's all part the same brand so can someone explain how this is a pork pie? If its content is 90% gelatine then surely its a gelatine pie? Sausages stone cold today as well and the icing on the cake (pun intended) prices have gone up.

Finest beef and onion pies in North of England which is a great recommend ment as come from pie eating wigan. If you're going to try one get at least two you won't regret it. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Thought this place was lovely, great bakes and great value. You'd be a fool to seek out a chain like Greggs or the Pound Bakery given the gulf in quality of ingredients and historical knowledge of baking. The loafs looked fantastic but was a bit too late in the day to get one at this time, but will be back to buy one soon.

Saw the shop every day, going home from the train station, and decided to get something the other day. And I was not disappointed. It was almost at the closing time, and thought pastries wouldn't be that fresh. But I was so wrong. It was fresh and tasted delightful. It's not overly sweet, which is just the way I like it, and the price is really good for what you're getting. Will definitely go back again and try the other stuff. Highly recommend!

I consistently have very incredible pastries from here and the staff are friendly. The doughnut dough alone (even without the filling) is 5 star! I'd recommend: Chocolate croissant, Apple & cinnamon pastry, Literally all the doughnuts.

A gem of a new Polish bakery on Brook Street. Right by the half hour parking by the central sorting post office - handy if you’re driving past. I have been in a couple of times now. First time for bread (a sour dough which was very hearty) and the next for a fruit crumble treat (picked out by my little one) which was big enough to share with the family. Next time I’ll go back for a coffee and lunch treat! Great value for money too! (Check out the menu).

Great selection of Artisan breads and cakes, there is always something new every time you visit. First Bakery who offers so many VEGAN options too. Definitely Chester need it one.

An amazing little shop filled with sweet and savoury treats. I order a Cheese, Bacon and Mayo toastie that arrived on a lovely sourdough bread and was delicious and filling with every bite. I additionally bought a Spanish Donut and for the price, the size is unreal! Highly recommend anyone stop by and have a look at all their goods. Really friendly staff as well who always greet you with a smile.

I can't show you a picture of the Almond Croissant we just shared because it disappeared so quickly! Easily enough for three it was generous, flaky, sweet and outstanding! We ran by here on a whim as we had a few moments before catching the train. There is fresh bread, pastries, pre-made sandwiches, and pizzas for one. The woman at the counter was kind and patient with us as we decided. This is on our list of places to return to while in Chester!!!

Wonderful and affordable place to eat a treat! Absolutely love their strawberry shortcake and my sister loves their pork buns. They do a wide assortment of Asian desserts, bread and snacks. Very delicious and always take my friends and family here when they visit Manchester as it's a nice change.

The birthday cakes I have had from this bakery are hard to describe! All the good things you would expect in a cake! Soft, firm, spongy, not too sweet, fresh ingredients, beautiful. etc.! I have not been disappointed by Ho bakery yet! Definitely would recommend.

I basically made a pilgrimage to this bakery so often. It opens I think at 9am and when you enter is just a waft of bread. Asian bakeries for those of you who don't know, are very diverse. Whether you want a pork bun, a bun with cream in it or a straight up pastry, you can buy it here. I mean, it's cheap, it's good, and I'm fat. So really just go there and get some buns hun

Really great for treats...as I'm sure others have said the honey buns are pretty special! Lovely Chinese bakery offering a huge selection of cakes, buns and baked goods. I can't pass through China town without popping in. The staff are always super friendly and helpful. Top marks.

This must have been one of the best experiences I have had in England's Chinatown(s). I had the cold coconut bubble tea and it was so refreshing, creamy and just purely wonderful!! 10/10 would recommend! The pastries were also fantastic and truly beautiful.

Tried their Parmesan Chicken sandwich, Cinnamon Roll and Latte last week. The sandwich was okay (a bit more seasoning on the chicken would be good) and the cinnamon roll was quite tasty. I'll probably come back to try the other pastries.

So many pastries and cakes to choose from! But no gluten free options... My friend loved the carrot cake :) The iced matcha was delicious. A bit pricey though, but that was expected!

Today at Gail’s I was deliberately ignored by a staff member. I felt discriminated against and very disrespected. When I arrived at Gail’s, for some reason the queue was forming towards the collection counter. I thought it was a bit odd, but didn’t think too much of it and just joined the line. Later, some people also started queuing on the bakery side. When it was the turn of the girl in front of me, there were people lined up on both sides. The staff just looked at the two queues and said nothing, leaving it up to the customers to figure out who should order first. When it was about to be my turn, another staff member came out and served the people on the bakery side. The female staff member who was standing in front of the POS machine looked at me once, and then just walked away. She simply left, making me stand there alone, looking as if I had cut the line. She didn’t even say anything like asking me to rejoin the queue properly, nor did she explain to the other side that I had been waiting for quite a while. Oh wow. In the end, I had to go back and queue all over again. When it was finally my turn, it was the same staff member taking my order. And when I received my drink, my matcha latte had been made as a regular latte instead. I was already upset, and on top of that I had to deal with a wrong order. At that point, I had no mood left to deal with the staff anymore. Overall, it was a very poor dining experience, and I won’t be coming back.

The staff working this evening were extremely professional and "on point" with delivery of service to us all this evening. Unfortunately the need for door staff/security during the Christmas Market season is a must.Having sat and watched the hectic pace the staff had to deal with people who are alcohol challenged insisting to use the facilities etc without buying anything etc. Enough is enough.. Come on "owners" of Gail's, you have a duty of care your valuable staff as they are a credit to you.

- Tasty food and a great location. - The new menu - Pistachio and Raspberry bun - is absolutely lovely and it is definitely worth trying! - Staff members are generally very friendly at this branch except for one tall male person at the till - please learn from your colleagues!

The food and coffee are good. My personal favourite is the iced mocha. Bear on mind that the place can get too crowded with long waiting times and queues. While the bakery is good, I wouldn’t say it is worth the long wait. Loads of places around with better queue management.

Service is great but the queues can be a bit long and slow to move. My coffee is not piping hot but that suits me; my partner complains about it! ♿ Accessibility is not great. Indoor sitting on the ground level is very limited; a few tables and the rest are high tables with tall chairs. There is outdoor seating so that's great especially when the weather is nice. The toilets are in the basement level and only accessible via a flight of stairs. There are more seating spaces in the basement level too but the vibe there is plain/neutral.

The interior was very large, aesthetic and chill with a relaxing atmosphere for a catch up with friends or studying/working. I had a mini biscoff loaf cake, iced chai and bbq melt. All were really nice. For me the chai was different to ines I've had before, as I'm used to less milky and sweet ones( but this is just my experience, I understand loaf makes them differently). Overall would highly recommend! ( wish I could live in the flats part of the building haha)

We tried our first Loaf cake last week at the newly opened Oxford road site and it didn't disappoint. Retro pink palace with flavours of cake that any Mancunian will love from custard cream, Vimto and many more. Ive yet to try the Biscoff so a good reason to go back. Started during covid and now on his third site Aidan Loafmcr is definitely worth a visit.

My absolute favourite coffee shop in Salford/Manchester. The staff are so so friendly, always making you feel welcomed (especially as I often, as a student, go by myself). The hot chocolate is the best I’ve ever tasted. And the general vibe is just the best - decor, people, everything. Thank you Loaf!

I’ve enjoyed every single moment over there. The staff was very friendly, banana Loaf was amazing, I’ve tried the americano wasn’t perfect to be honest. The location and the atmosphere deserve 5 stars. For sure will come back and I hope they will upgrade the coffee level.

Apart from the interior being an absolutely beautiful pink paradise, the loaf cakes and coffee are delicious. The service is excellent and everyone is so friendly and happy to chat. I got a slice of brioche loaf to take home with me for my breakfast the next day and would highly recommend it (have it toasted with butter and jam).

got a birthday loaf for my father in law - ordered the lemon curd with blue drizzle on top and ordered some decorations online (we were so excited to eat it that half of it was gone before i remembered to take pictures) but everyone LOVED IT! i placed the order via email instead of online as it was short notice (i apologised as I didnt know at the time) and ruth, head baker, replied really fast and did an incredible job! definitely ordering again!! thank you guys xx

SEP 2023 Oh boy, the Jammie Dodger Loaf…what a little treat 🤤 Just looking at the counter gets me excited here. Love it! You can take your cake away, or there’s plenty of seating inside. 2022 Get a Loaf of These Cakes I either saw this place on Instagram or on a leaflet: the sweet, stodgy, sugary-looking loaves of cake instantly drew me in. I went for a slice of Jammie Dodger which was a creamy treat that lived up to my expectations. I need to go back and try them all. There’s lots of seating and there’s hot/cold drinks for sale too: it looks like an ideal place to work from.

Stopped off for some food in Chester Market and passed here after 6pm on a Saturday night. They still had plenty available and the staff were busy making more! The food and treats looked stunning. Great selection and they even had frozen treats too! I went for the Macaron ice cream sandwich, which tasted great and was reasonably priced. High quality items, very well presented and made with care. Pleasant staff too. I’ve wanted to try here for a few years and finally managed to catch it. Highly recommended!

A patisserie whose pastries taste with a hint of passion, big bursts of wholesomeness and a fantastic, complicated and complimenting flavor profile. Their menu keeps updating, meaning you'll find something new everytime you visit Pastry Pédaleur. A must go-to spot inside the new Chester market for satisfying you sweet tooth. Shout out to chef owner Stephanie and team for always having that thousand megawatts smile and being kind and thoughtful with service. Side notes; you will get addicted to their macroons and cheesecakes, they're unbelievably good. You've been warned!

Yesterday I honestly believe found the greatest cheesecake in the world actually in my home town! This statement may seem like an over exaggeration, however I really mean it. Prior to this, the best cheesecake I ever had was in a place called Juniors in New York. Yes, I’m really saying that Stephanie Peters may have just put New York to shame with her cheesecake. This is a Chester inspired cheesecake that exclusively made for the groups that joined the ‘On a plate’ Chester tour. Stephanie, please keep up this incredible work and for the love of god! Please make the Chester inspired cheesecake more accessible. I never believed it would make me emotional and proud to be a Cestrian.

A little bit of paradise hidden in Chester Markets. Pastry Pédaleur is a must to visit. Excellent pastries and cakes are absolutely out of this world. You won't be disappointed. Banana Brulee, Brownies, Croissants, Canele are just a few of the excellent things baked there. I love this stall its my favourite place to visit when in Chester.

Best place in the Chester market. My little one always loves to have a fresh baked muffin and steph (owner) always there when we need a birthday cake. Best choice plus nice and tidy shop. Highly recommended

Had the absolute pleasure of visiting pastry pedaleur today. And woww what a pleasure it was.! After 5 minutes of trying to decide what to go for i finally decided on a Nutella cruffin( which I had never tried before yet alone heard of ! ) a slice of biscotti chess cake and a capachino to wash it down. I can honestly say they were the nicest cakes I have ever had in my life. Will definitely be back . And would highly recommend them. Sorry no pics as they were divoured in literally minutes.

My first Cinnabon experience! Oh my goodness what heaven! I had the small original Cinnabon (warmed up) and an oatmilk cappuccino and they were both delicious and great quality. There was a really good deal on so an absolute bargain it was too. The lady who served me was very polite and advised me on the deals and helped me decide. I'll definitely be back!

At Cinnabon Sweet Shop, my recent visit offered a mixed experience. Although the service was a tad slow, the delectable taste of their treats was undeniably satisfying. The warm aroma of cinnamon filled the cozy space, creating a welcoming ambiance that enhanced the overall experience. Despite the initial wait, the flavorful indulgence and pleasant atmosphere made it a sweet visit worth savoring.

This was my first time going here and the classic cinnamon bun I had was amazing! Honestly incredible and definitely the best cinnamon bun I've ever had! So soft and warm and gooey, with just the perfect amount of cinnamon and sweetness. The price wasn't as bad as I was expecting, it was £2.99 for one cinnamon bun and £5 something for a box of two, which I think is a decent price for what they're offering. The place itself was small, a place to takeaway more than sit in, but the server was really friendly and polite. If you've never been and love cinnamon buns I'd definitely recommend going.

I visited the Cinnabon in Liverpool today at around 2:30pm, and unfortunately, I had a very disappointing experience. The service was quite poor . I would even say the staff were rude. When I entered, I greeted them, but no one greeted me back. I waited, and only after a few minutes did someone reluctantly ask what I wanted. The staff seemed uninterested and unwelcoming. The Cinnabon itself was also dry, which added to my disappointment. I don’t think I’ll be returning to this location again. The Cinnabon in Chester is much better both in terms of service and the quality of the product.

Menu very confusing. Prices expensive. I don't think we were advised well & paid over the odds, nearly £8 for two. I'd rather have had a box with a selection of all the flavours but it wasn't available. In the end I just ordered two big ones as there was a queue & we'd already waited behind someone asking a LOT of questions. Someone else who was leaving advised us which they recommended so I went with that the lotus biscoff which had cinnamon & the chocolate one that didn't. I really liked the lotus biscoff but wasn't fussed by the chocolate one, my boyfriend was the other way around. I'd get the chocolate again if it had cinnamon or maybe next time I'd try an original one.

The Cinnabons were pretty nice and fresh. I believe a batch just came out of the oven when we got there. The place is fairly small so it got full pretty quick. Definitely worth a visit if you’re a fan of cinnamon buns like I am. It’s not as good as the US version but it’s still high on the list as far as cinnamon buns go

This cute little bakery is something i discovered recently. The owner is very welcoming. I tried their famous pasties, the lamb and chicken one. The breads were quite new to me, but I would like to try them in future.

What a masterpiece of disappointment. £15 for six patties (£2.50 each) — the chicken and lamb ones smelled like they’d missed their expiry date by a week, and they were cold. Lovely… nothing says “fresh” like freezer burn. Meanwhile, the staff were busy moaning about customers — maybe because the prices are higher than the food’s quality. And of course… cash only. Because why not make it even less convenient? Should’ve just gone to McDonald’s and at least been disappointed for cheaper.

Ordered some patties after hearing the hype. Absolutely garbage. Not even cooked properly. Hard stuff and barely anything on the inside. The bread is expensive in my opinion. The attitude of the lady serving stank. Will definitely not be visiting again.

Just been and got 4 pattys and a coco bread all went in the bin as they were dry and nasty ive been here about 10 years ago and it used to be nice and i was buzzing to take my mum the for 1st time but its gone down the drain by the looks of it il never go there again 🤢🤮 £12.50 in the bin nice one

This is truly the best brunch I ever had!The French toast was on a different level of deliciousness and the tofu sado sandwich was a delight. I cannot wait to return and have it again! The staff were really friendly and the vibe was great. However the French toast blew my mind and I cannot stop thinking about it without my mouthwatering 🤤plus it was a generous portion. We had some 🍩for takeout (because we were stuffed ) and we had them the next day,even so they were still so fluffy and the taste was exceptional with plenty filling. I personally liked them all but the basque cheese cake was my favourite! Thank you for such an excellent culinary experience !

I wasn’t expecting too much from this café at first, as I thought it was just another influencer spot — but it turned out to be such a pleasant surprise! What impressed me most was actually their savoury food, which was absolutely delicious and even better than many savoury restaurants I’ve tried. The katsu sandwich and crispy prawn bun were both full of flavour. With my Asian palate, I noticed the stir-fried veg tasted a bit like Cantonese-style sauce, which I really enjoyed. The katsu sandwich was perfectly balanced in flavour, and the prawn bun was juicy and thick — just a little salty, so make sure to have it with the bread in one bite. I was genuinely shocked (in a good way!) at the first bite — I’m sure you’ll feel the same. We didn’t try the cookie, so can’t comment on the sweet options. The Kinder donut was good, though not particularly special. We planned to try the Reuben sandwich but didn’t this time — it seemed popular, so check other reviews for that one. The only downside was the service — not sure if I’m happy with it, as there’s always a queue outside but the table turnover seemed quite slow. The online ordering system also felt a bit sluggish, which might have caused the queue. It made the experience a bit less pleasant despite the great food. All in all, I’ll definitely be coming back for the savoury dishes again soon!

Such a great café experience! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming perfect for a relaxed afternoon. We ordered a French toast, a jam-filled doughnut, a cappuccino, and a flat white. The French toast was honestly the best I’ve ever had crispy on the edges, soft and buttery inside, and soaked in a rich syrup that tasted heavenly. Both coffees were spot on: the flat white was smooth and perfectly balanced, while the cappuccino had a nice creamy foam with a strong espresso flavor. The doughnut added the perfect sweet touch to finish it all off.

Got recommended by a friend to try Gooey Cafe in Manchester, and it definitely lived up to the hype! I had the bacon sandwich, orange ginger carrot cold-pressed juice, French toast, and a cappuccino — everything was delicious. The bacon sandwich was perfectly crispy and flavourful, the juice was super refreshing, and the French toast was rich and fluffy without being too sweet. The cappuccino was smooth and well-balanced too. Loved the cozy vibe and friendly service. will definitely come back next time I’m in town

Service staff were lovely and very polite to guests. We decided to try the famous french toast, it was okay and I would say not worth all the hype. It was just too sweet for our liking. Place is so warm, the floors were slippery as well. Its nice to try but wont be returning

This was absolutely delicious. I was worried it might just be one of those TikTok viral places that looks better online than it tastes, but I was happily proved wrong. Everything we got was a 10/10. The French toast is a must – perfect sweet and salty balance, not too sickly, just absolutely delish. The hash browns were amazing and the bacon sandwich was exactly what it says it is, but a really good one. Would deffo return.

Popped in around 9:35 AM with a friend and had the French toast and egg mayo avocado toast. few hours later, we both felt quite unwell，diarrhoea and vomiting. We hadn’t eaten anything else that day, so it seems likely it came from the food. A real shame as the café itself was lovely, but hopefully they’ll look into this.

Attended a wedding here at the weekend and had a wonderful time. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even more special. The venue itself has a really cool, stylish vibe that adds to the celebration’s atmosphere. Everything was well organized, and I felt comfortable and relaxed throughout the day and evening. Highly recommend this spot for anyone attending or planning a wedding!

Having just held our wedding here, we can’t recommend it enough. The venue fit our theme, the bedrooms were lovely, the bar and restaurant areas beautifully decorated, and the upper floor was ideal for our needs. The staff were super friendly, but a special mention to Katie, who looked after us in the absence of the main events coordinator. She did a brilliant job ensuring the venue was set up exactly as we wanted. And finally, a big shoutout to Daniel - mentioned by several of our guests - who was one of the nicest and most helpful people we’ve had the pleasure of dealing with in the industry.

Had Sunday lunch in Oddfellows restaurant yesterday. We had a party if seven ladies who received the lovely news that one of them was getting married next year. Our server, Daniel, was amazing. Firstly he rearranged the seating to accommodate us all. He joined in our "banter". He then brought out a Congratulations board with strawberries and cake. The meal was very good, hot and tasty and the drinks was good too. To be fair, all the staff were friendly but Daniel was outstanding. Just a note to say that this is a card only venue. We will return (we hope we get Daniel), and we highly recommend it

Had a 1 night stay here and it was absolutely incredible. Deserves more than 5 stars! The service, the food, the atmosphere.. all AMAZING! They were so accommodating as I was booking for my partners birthday, they made it extra special and the service was just perfect. The food is outstanding, one of the best meals we’ve had. It’s over a 2 and a half hour drive from us but we wouldn’t hesitate to stay again! Would totally recommend. Thank you :)

We just had our wedding here on Saturday, I just needed to say how incredible all the staff were. Rebecca and the team made everything so seamless and everything ran so smoothly. The day was so incredible but the staff from Oddfellows just took it to the next level! Anything at all we asked wasn’t in any way too much and my (sometimes ridiculous) requests were accommodated straight away! We stayed in the 3 bedroom apartment which was insanely big for getting ready, with ample parking and the honeymoon suite we had on Saturday night was also incredible. All the food was amazing and every drink served was perfectly made! Just wish we could do it all again this weekend :)

We had afternoon tea In Alice’s Parlour, service was brilliant start to end. The quality and amount for Afternoon tea was great. What a lovely unique experience. Thanks Daniel for taking great care of us 🙏🏻♥️

Just had the best food here - Alice’s Parlour is quirky and fun and the food does not disappoint! Absolutely packed with flavour, I loved every mouthful. I chose the vegetarian options just because they sounded so appealing and I was really glad it did. Heartily recommend this eatery

this hotel is perfect! Bedrooms are clean, beds are comfy, lovely bathroom with good quality toiletries. Breakfast is cooked to amazing quality. I don’t normally like scrambled eggs but the scrambled eggs made at this hotel are perfection! staff go above and beyond for all guests. staff being helpful telling us where they best recommended us to go! The seating areas opposite the reception is gorgeous, comfy chairs. the bar area is an affordable price and we have enjoyed our evening games of pool during our stay. everywhere is beautifully decorated and you can’t complain about the price of the stay because it is 100% worth it.

The rooms were recently renovated. There was the odd bit of missed dirt like a spill down the front of one of the bedside tables. Hotel was small and located in easy walk of the riverside, gardens, Roman amphitheatre, shops and restaurants. Parking was few minutes walk away and we managed to use the 30 mins on street for check in and check out. The weather was hot while we were there and the room was way too hot. The windows were open when we arrived (safety locks had been disabled) be careful with young children, I had to put ours back in. There was a fan which we had on permanently but it was 2am before I was cool enough to sleep. There is a lively outdoor seating area for drinks and games for the kids and a pool table indoors. All of which were unbelievably quiet for the holidays, gorgeous weather and how nice the place is.

Had my daughters hen party at the Townhouse recently . A large group of ladies stayed overnight . We had full use of the beautiful garden ,which was perfect for our celebration 🍾 The afternoon tea was delicious 😋 with all diets catered for .All our rooms were spotless & comfortable ( including the apartment ) The breakfast served was amazing 😛& everyone commented how nice everything was . The best thing about the Townhouse are the staff ! Every single member being helpful & kind 🥰 they really are an asset to this wonderful hotel . They made our weekend memorable & we would definitely recommend a stay here . Thank you ❤️ we'll be back soon !

My niece and I spent three very enjoyable days at the hotel in July. The room was very large and the beds very comfortable and everything was very clean. We enjoyed the breakfasts which were delicious. Service was exceptional and nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff particularly Nichola. She made us feel very welcome. The hotel is ideally placed to enjoy all Chester has to offer and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

It's the 2nd time we have stayed here, depending on which room you have can make the difference between a good night's sleep or not. Unfortunately, room 4 is not as good as some of the other ones. The breakfast is excellent, in particular the scrambled eggs are the best I have eaten. As well as hot beverages available in your room, lovely biscuits and bottles of water are also included. The location of the hotel is very good for all the sights, restaurants etc. The staff we encountered were very friendly especially in the breakfast room.

Very lovely room, and right where you want to be in town easy walk to the main street and the river. We didn't have food/ drink here but the lady who checked us in was fab (sorry didn't catch name) but very helpful with parking and any questions we had including parking discount.

Great little independent hotel. Centrally located in Chester and close to the river and near to plenty of bars & restaurants. Rooms comfortable and staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is lovely. Would stay again next time we come to Chester.

Beautiful bagels from a small independent bakery. They also serve a range of sandwiches, fresh baked bread and cakes, but the bagels are the real star of the show and the main reason to visit. They are soft but with right amount of chewiness, with a slightly sweet flavour. I would recommend visiting early in the day when the bagels are still warm

State Fayre Bakery is a lovely local spot with a proper traditional feel. Freshly baked bread, pastries, and cakes are always on display, and you can really taste the quality compared to supermarket options. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and everything is reasonably priced for the freshness you get. It’s the kind of bakery that keeps people coming back — whether you’re picking up a loaf, grabbing a quick snack, or treating yourself to something sweet. Definitely worth a visit if you’re nearby.

The service staff gave us an extra assortment of lovely homemade side salads. Everything was absolutely delicious, the portions were very big, so I would highly recommend the lunch bagel with soup!

Arrived at around 11.30, but no soup for some reason. No worries, I ate a herring bagel with sesame seeds while my beloved had an egg and onion bagel. Top class food, good service. The bagels were lightly burnt on top, my personal favourite.

Unexpectedly wide selection of baked goods and other products including farm eggs. Parking can be somewhat difficult though.

New favourite bakery just landed. A smaller selection of exquisite pastries & they have sweet and savoury options. We still struggled to choose what not to have on the end but the Cherry Crumble Danish was my clear winner. Just a quaint local bakery on a residential street so make sure you get down there and show some love, it will be returned 10 fold in baked treats. 6 stars.

Picked up some delicious artisan pastries. Really enjoyed the lamination on the pan au chocolate and the croissants. But our favorite was the monkey bread! A real treat to try. Certainly a place to go if you are a pastry enthusiast (which everyone should be!) No indoor seating unfortunately, only outdoors otherwise we would have stayed for a coffee. There is a ramp so accessible for buggies. Slightly limited road parking but we managed to find a spot. Definitely worth a visit!

Been coming to Long Boi's for years. The greatest coffee and pastries. I also had my birthday cake from here! Anytime my friends come to visit, they demand a trip. Part of the experience is queuing when it's busy (it's always worth it!) and praying the person in front of you doesn't take the last pain au pickle. It is everything there is to love about Levenshulme: true community spirit, inventiveness and heart.

Every time I roll up, I sigh, “Oh Boi, Long line!” Long Boi’s bake goods are five-star legend - those loaves could win an Oscar for “Best Crunch”! The food is pure magic (5/5), with pastries that make my taste buds sing. The service (2/5) is a slog thanks to that single counter handling both retail and café orders. I’m just here for a quick loaf, not to wait behind hipsters debating if their oat milk was hand-churned by artisanal goats or if the flour was blessed by a local druid. In Europe, where quality baked goods are basically a religion, they’ve mastered the process to keep the flow smooth. Long Boi, take a cue and give us bread-lovers a fast track! I’d kill to grab that epic food without the saga of a long boi line.

Long Boi’s is a much-loved part of my weekend routine! I’ve been going since it opened and I’m so happy to have such a lovely bakery local to me. Sometimes there are queues, other times you’re in more quickly. Either way, I’m happy to wait for LB’s delicious, creative cakes and pastries, and I’m thrilled to see an independent business busy and thriving! There is always a great vegan selection and allergens are really clearly marked which is super important. The friendly, all-women staff make the time to chat and are part and parcel of the experience. Dreamy decor too. Perfect in every way!

The best bakery in Manchester if not the UK. Just absolute art for your mouth. The team is absolutely wonderful and the care and creativity that goes into their baked creations is clear to see and taste. Worth a visit and the que always moves quickly even if you have to wait, it’s always worth it. Spend your money here to support a local, female owned and independent business rather than the faceless global coffee shop chains filling up our high streets. A true local gem.

Very knowledgeable sharing their bread expertise & guided me round their products to create the perfect holiday basket! The bread I ordered covered 4 days of holidaying from breakfast, picnics to supper! Still amazingly fresh on our last day. Would highly recommend doing a bread delivery for your holidays!!

Lovingly Artisan serves up delicious freshly baked bread. I didn’t realise we had the Baker of the Year, the award winning National Bakery and Olive Magazine Baker 2019 in our home town Altrincham. How did they keep that a secret? I bought my first loaf from Lovingly Artisan today and it was delicious, I will definitely be returning to this hidden gem of a bakery. It is definitely worth a visit. You will find it near Altrincham Market.

Favourite place for about everything I've tried from them!! Their bread, their black garlic ketchup, their jam. I even dream of the pain au chocolat - they add salt flakes to the bottom, which sounds very strange but works so well!! It's really unique and tasty. The bread is so light and tasty, and it makes the best toast! I hope that I can visit more often! The owner(s) are so lovely, too. One visit, I got a phone call with some bad news just around the corner, and either they overheard snippets or could tell I was visibly distressed when I was browsing as they offered me another pastry on the house 💖 This was some months ago now, and it still makes me really happy. Really worth trying any of their produce if you're in the area!

Been buying sourdough bread from Loving Artisan since lockdown Covid. Delicious bread really good for allergies. Staff helpful and have plenty of suggestions for other bread they have. You need to get there early as they are very popular. Plus I love the smell of the bread so even if I'm not buying I'll stop to breathe in the smell as it's lovely.

My absolute favourite place in Macclesfield. Coffee is amazing, pastries are out of this world (especially the almond pain au chocolate - only available on Saturday) and the staff are fantastic! So friendly and uplifting, I always leave with a big smile on my face after visiting!

I had an amazing experience at Flour Water Salt! The bread and pastries are absolutely top-notch — you can really taste the care and craftsmanship in every bite. The coffee was perfect too, rich and smooth. A special mention goes to Amelia, who was so friendly and welcoming. She took the time to explain a few of the bakery’s specialties and made great recommendations — her warmth and genuine enthusiasm really stood out. If you’re looking for a spot with incredible food, great atmosphere, and lovely service, Flour Water Salt is a must-visit. Highly recommend!

If you haven’t tried the amazing strawberry tarts from Devonshire Bakery, you are depriving yourself of an experience more wondrous than the Great Wall of China and definitely more delicious. I mean… the Great Wall is impressive and all, but can you eat it? No. And if you tried, you'd probably end up in a hospital with a mouthful of ancient bricks and a hefty bill for dental work. These strawberry tarts, on the other hand, are a culinary marvel. Each bite is like a journey through a strawberry field where the strawberries are handpicked by angels and kissed by gods. The crust is so flaky and buttery, it puts the pyramids of Egypt to shame. Sure, the pyramids have stood the test of time, but one nibble of this tart and you'll understand why they say good things don't last long. I devoured mine in a time that would make Usain Bolt jealous. The filling – oh, the filling! It’s a glorious, gooey, fruity concoction that makes you wonder if the Hanging Gardens of Babylon were actually just a giant strawberry patch. It’s sweet, but not too sweet, like the perfect pickup line that lands you a date with Cleopatra. And let's talk presentation. The tarts are so beautifully arranged, they could be a contender for the eighth wonder of the world. Move over, Petra! This tart’s glossy strawberry topping sparkles in the light like the Taj Mahal at sunrise. But unlike the Taj Mahal, which you can't take a bite out of (not recommended unless you fancy the taste of centuries-old marble), this tart is perfectly bite-sized and oh-so-satisfying. In summary, Devonshire Bakery’s amazing strawberry tarts are a testament to human ingenuity, more spectacular than any ancient wonder. If the Colossus of Rhodes was still around, he'd be juggling these tarts in sheer delight. So, skip the travel expenses and head to Frodsham High Street for a taste of true wonder. Just be warned – once you try them, you might start referring to your taste buds as the new wonders of the world.

Noting that only 6 months ago someone below was astonished to be charged £2.80 for a sausage roll, it is now £3.15... What possible justification can there be for such a massive hike to an already high price. The rolls may be "nice" but they're certainly not the best I've ever had, and it's hardly the Harrods food hall. I feel offended by it. I won't be back.

Very nice food, great portion size for a calorie ristricted diet, however as a suggestion to offer french dressing as well as mayo, all in all service was good.

Pies, pastries, croissants and cakes: they're all here, and all most excellent. Friendly staff, even under the duress of dithering customers and a long queue - definitely worth a visit for your bakery fix. Top tip: bring yourself something with which to keep occupied in case you too are behind customers who are trying to buy the entire shop...

Brilliant little traditional cafe with lovely staff and the breakfast was amazing value for money. £9.50 including a tea or coffee. Two slices of toast, two sausages, three bacon, egg, mushrooms, beans, black pudding and fried bread.

This is such a lovely local bakery. All the produce is sourced locally, and it's all hand-made. The sourdough bread is to die for and is my only choice of bread. The cakes and cheesecakes are all divine. I don't mind paying a little extra for good quality homemade produce. The authentic taste you get from handmade quiche and cakes is worth every penny. I would recommend this bakery 100%. Treat yourself to a coffee and a muffin.

This bakery deserves 10 stars!! The produce is absolutely amazing and so delicious. The choice of breads and foccacia is wonderful. The sweet treats are so moreish especially the home made cheese cake. The biscuits and flap Jack's are lovely. I can't give enough praise. I am like a child in a sweetshop whenever I go in. Homemade is totally the best. Can I also add, there is a great variety for vegetarians. I found lots of delicacies to enjoy. I can't recommend this bakery enough. Thank you

Would definitely recommend! Great little bakery spot☺️ I was visiting a friend in Crewe who lives close to the Bakery so we popped in whilst walking the dog. Please note - dogs are not allowed inside the bakery however there is a cafe next door which is linked to the bakery which does allow dogs inside. I ordered an egg, cheese & mushroom sarnie which was made within minutes fresh in front of me. It was delicious and very well priced! They had a good selection of little cakes also and the staff were talkative and friendly :)

I had been on Saturday with my two well behaved dogs with no issues but today I go in and was told I must not bring them in. I would be more worried about the very old , broken up dirty floor being more unhygienic , than my 2 small dogs that have an antiseptic wipe everyday on them. Dirty work men can come in as I saw. This place will NOT get my support, where I would have done at least 3 times a week. Very rude too, about approaching customers that are keeping you in business. No sign either to say no dogs allowed, or be more consistent, and too not allowing dogs in the cafeteria. It’s not as if the dogs are going behind the counter.

Absolute ripoff,had decaff tea x1,£3.40,coffee x 1,£3.40, Small pork pie,£3.00,steak and Stilton pie £4.05. Total£13.85. I was charged £18.95. When queried,I was told extra charges were vat and service which amounted to approx 44% surcharge,absolutely disgusting. We will not be returning.

No wifi or even decent signal - I came in here to grab a coffee and catch up on emails instead of going to Costa. Pretty frustrating. coffee quite expensive for what it is, but cakes are fantastic and worth every penny and calorie, and similar price to Costa. It is a bit cramped, and seriously, do you need that many cushions?? Some of them were a bit grubby and I really didn't want to touch them before handling food.

Excessive prices. I don't mind paying a bit extra for quality but £15 for a ham sandwich and a coffee in a small shop in Runcorn not a tourist attraction, I actually querried which I wouldn't ordinarily do, they said there was added charge on top because I sat in. Sandwich was plain no trimmings ordinary sliced bread nothing thick or special about it, ironically there was a Costa next door and 2 cheap bakeries opposite, it's a shame as I prefer to support small businesses but I felt ripped off. There were 4 servers and an empty shop with no atmosphere no music no wifi.

The food here is really nice! Great quality, flavor, and variety. One time we came in and they had free samples, I almost cried. Sweet and savory alike, they don’t disappoint. It’s a bit pricey but it’s also quality stuff!

Food is good value for money but the service from the staff lets it down.

My husband found this place last year when we were at the Countess and I was waiting for my labor to kick off and he needed a warm meal. Now each time we come to the hospital for baby appointments this is our lunch stop. The baps are so tasty and filling that we devour them before even thinking of taking a photo. The doorstep toast is a nice bonus for our little one who loves to munch on bread. Very nice and caring staff who were always attentive to our needs. The only downside is there is no changing facilities, which is understandable being such a small place. Unfortunately wheelchairs also can't access the bathroom area.

Nice relaxed place to stop off and the savoury rolls are amazing with a good selection of desserts. Service is quick and friendly. Not somewhere I'd go out of my way for but happy to pop in when going past.

Had the new “Roast in a box” from Chatwin’s in Upton, you get two thick slices of meat (I had pork), Roast Potatoes, carrots, green beans, stuffing, crackling & gravy all for £7.50 to take away. Overall quality good, only small negative the member of staff didn’t know what they had to put in it

I usually love the upton chatwins and would give it 5 stars, but today was an exception. Ordered the usual pork bap as the cut is always great and they load on the apple sauce and stuffing. For £5.50 i expect the quality i always get but today it was disappointing. I received near to no apple sauce and a tiny amount of stuffing compared to what i normally get (keep in mind i ask for a lot). So this was again a disappointment for the price and i hope i dont experience it again.

No choice of milk for latè, only semi-skimmed , not good if people are lactose intolerant or have allergies.

Not impressed at all, not with the donuts, they were alright, it was with the missing box from my order that obviously couldn’t be replaced so instead of calling me to explain, which I would of been fine with, they passed it straight on to just eat who called to tell me a credit would go onto my just eat account with no explanation of why??? Not great customer service so I won’t be ordering again.

Krispy Kreme doughnuts big on taste but are known for expanding your waistline which isn't good. The question is can you just buy one or is the special offer for 12 to tempting. Only one person working and they were friendly and helpful. They also serve hot and cold drinks. A nice seating area is available for when the sun is shining. Greggs doughnuts will never taste the same once you have eaten a Krispy Kreme. If you enjoyed reading my review and looking at the photos then don't forget to like them.

I needed a wicked themed cookie for my daughter for her birthday as she doesn’t like cake. This cookie turned out so perfect, I was ecstatic and so was Paige. The pink and green, the hat the wand, the song lyrics. It was everything I wanted so thank you so much. We were given advice regarding keeping the cookie cool (her birthday was on the hottest weekend of the year so far) I will definitely be back next year for another cookie. Thanks

Beth from you golden square in Warrington, went above and beyond yesterday to do my grandsons Millie’s cookie for his birthday. He plays basketball for Cheshire so I wanted a basketball theme, she did explain that you didn’t have the colour orange which is the only negative comment I shall mention, she did say it’s an autumn winter colour, maybe consider using this all year round. Beth did improvise and used red and black. The cookie looked amazing and our grandson was over the moon.. Thankyou so much to the lovely Beth 🤍 xx

Despite the insanely hot weather, both of the ladies working were upbeat, friendly and made up a fun, Rugrats-esque design for my cookie. Unfortunately I didn't catch either of their names, but they were both great :)

I visited this store with my children today I asked for 2 slices of double cookie , 2 ice creams and 2 milkshakes. Was told they had ran out of milk and couldn't do any milkshakes. I just ordered the 2 slices of double cookie and 2 ice creams. I was not told how much it would be so I handed the male a £20 note. He passed me my change and dropped it behind counter, so I do not know if I got my correct change or how much I was charged Very disappointed with this visit, was my first and last visit to this store The male looked so unhappy no smile no nothing

I would just like to say thank you to the two ladies that were working on Sunday 20th November in the Chester store. My daughter fainted and I needed water for her and these two ladies helped me with that. So I would like to say thank you to them both.

My favourite place to grab a cup of coffee. I always feel welcome and comfortable here. The staff is very friendly, even when they are really busy. The coffee is much better than in most chain cafés because they use specialty. Sometimes, baristas don’t measure the milk correctly when making coffee and it goes to waste. But nobody is perfect.

The food and savoury here is very good. Of course you're paying a slight premium because of the location and quality. However the coffee is fairly average, so I'd recommend more so the food.

Always wanting to try Gail's but only had the chance to get there earlier today. The flourless chocolate cake was soooo good especially if you like the dark chocolatey taste like us. My husband doesn't usually like puff pastries but he enjoyed the croissant with chocolate and almond on top. We would love to go back and try the savory stuff next time! xx

Great coffee and delicious pastries at Gail’s but the staff’s grumpiness and inattentive service can put you off. Coffee cups often arrive with drips down the side, with zero attempt to wipe them down and not so much as a “sorry about that.” It almost feels like they’re clocking in without any enthusiasm. If you’re just after top notch brews and bakes, it’s worth a try; otherwise, don’t expect a friendly welcom.

Perfect place for a breakfast/brunch in Wilmslow. I’ve tried the baguette, the ciabatta and white sourdough from the bakery. I was expecting more ( I guess for the high expectations from social media ) but they are nice although a bit pricey. Loved my iced latte with agave.
