Croft36 is a renowned food spot run by Julie since 2010, offering locally sourced seafood and homegrown produce. The menu includes delectable options like crab or langoustine soup, apricot and almond frangipane, and lobster and langoustine butteries. Operating on an honesty box system, the place tends to sell out quickly due to its popularity. This unique culinary croft has gained the top spot on Trip Advisor for Harris.
Really lovely home baked goods shed! Nice selection of savoury and sweet. We’re from Aberdeen so familiar with the buttery but the langoustine buttery was one of the best sandwiches we’d ever had! Also options for veggie- the curried veg pasty was delicious and so flavourful. Nice story of it being an eco Croft and sustainable produce. Highly recommend stopping! Also good to have the option of paying through PayPal as we didn’t have enough cash with us - glad we didn’t miss out! Thank you!

A little slice of happiness on our tour of Isle of Harris in our campervan. Delicious warm veg curry pasty, yummy frangipane and lovely shortbread. Love these delights. Thank you for your fabness.
Zoe B — Google review
A must if you’re passing on Harris. Self service bakery goods, hot and cold drinks. We had beef pie, chicken chorizo pasty and a selection of the sweet butteries. We took them to the beach up the road to eat. Everything was clearly homemade and very tasty. Pay with cash or PayPal.

Amazing honesty box bakery. Hot veg curry pasties were lovely and the butteries are a must. Well worth a detour to this fab little gem.
Vickie W — Google review
We went today just before closing, and a lovely lady offered us the most amazing cakes! There is an honesty box, and if you don’t have cash, you can pay via PayPal. Unfortunately, we are leaving the island early in the morning and can’t return, but we would definitely recommend going early in the day. I bet everything is delicious, and as a bonus, there is a friendly Springer Spaniel who seems keen for a cuddle. Such a lovely place!

Came across by accident on a walk. We had some excellent food here, paid for in honesty box. Fantastic range of food for all tastes. A big big thank you and well done to owners.

Wow! Amazing butteries (we tried crab and langoustines), delicious curry pasty and aromatic homegrown strawberries 🍓. We enjoyed these delicacies at a nearby beach on a sunny day! This is heaven 🌈

Tobermory Bakery & Tea Room is a must-visit spot in Tobermory, Isle of Mull. The bakery's blue walls stand out on the seafront and the aroma of freshly baked goods is irresistible. They offer a variety of sandwiches, soups, pastries, cakes, and a selection of local cheeses including the famous Isle of Mull cheddar. Visitors rave about the delicious food and excellent service at this gem.
Loved the bagel here & the coffee. Just what you need. A huge variety of pies and bakes as well on offer! Great location if you are visiting Tobermory. Affordable pricing. Only criticism is we wished they did link sausage!

What an amazing find in Tobermory. We were looking to find somewhere to eat for lunch and came across the Tobermory Bakery and Tea Room. Spoiled for choice with all the filled rolls, toasties, pies and quiches. We had a chicken, haggis and bacon pie and also a prawn Marie Rose filled roll. Both were amazing and tasty. The service was fantastic from the team. Everyone was so friendly. We had to do our cakes to take away as we were so full from lunch and they were a welcome treat after our little drive around Mull. Would highly recommend.

Popped in today for lunch. Enjoyed a really delicious Glengorm steak pie. Plenty of good quality steak filling. Highly recommend that you try these. Staff are friendly and helpful. A really nice wee place with plenty to choose from the fresh bakes.
Linda P — Google review
A variety of food offerings, in addition to coffee and tea. Small space can get crowded when the ferry disgorges large number of tourists. Was able to get a table and appreciated the cozy, homey atmosphere.

Dont go if you have an allergy! Visited today and after trying a chicken leek and ham pie we realised it was a mushroom pie which i am allergic to. I went back and got zero apology but a replacement. Then realised they had given us another mushroom pie. I went back for a refund. I tried to speak to them to say how serious allergies are and all she said was "im not the manager" no apology and a horrible attitude. Avoid

Great Bakery. Nice bread, pie’s and coffee!
Robert J — Google review
The coffee was good and the cakes we excellent - chocolate tiffin and bakewell slice. Best of all, though, were the quiches - best I've ever eaten.
Marcus M — Google review
I got the soup and sandwich combo, which came out to be a little over £6. Food portions were just right (I'm too used to being overly full from American portions). The soup was really rich and flavorful, and the cheese in the toastie was really stretchy. I figured if I'm in the UK, I might as well try haggis AND blood pudding - I was not disappointed. They went well in the grilled cheese sandwich, and the acidity in salad that came with it cut through the richness. We got our food really late though, but maybe it was because the waitress was new. Overall, food was tasty, and it's a nice place to sit and chat.

When you find yourself wandering through the charming streets of Portree, make sure to stop by the Isle of Skye Baking Company. This delightful bakery is a haven for those with a sweet tooth, offering an array of scrumptious cakes, scones, and freshly baked bread that perfectly complement your coffee. Their commitment to using local produce means that every bite reflects the rich flavors of the Isle of Skye.
Lunch was organized through our tour group from Lisa’s bakery and wow was it amazing! Sandwich was delicious and huge, great cakes and probably the best scone I’ve ever had. Would definitely recommend!
Katie K — Google review
We had the opportunity to taste these delights on our Isle of the Skye Tour with WOW Tours. The lunches were very tasty. 3 of my group selected the Vegan sandwiches and said they were the best they've ever had. Desserts included with the Vegan option were delicious chocolate cakes with Expresso cream frosting. I had the Mushroom Quiche that was delightful and it included a small side salad and 2 small cup cake Desserts that were delicious. I added a cheese and butter scone and fruit bar. Everything was scrumptious and gobbled up rather quickly. This have us the fuel to complete the 3 mile hike at the Fairy Pools. When we picked up our lunches on our tour route, the art gallery / bakery showcased some amazing local artwork.
Mike B — Google review
Ordered through the tour company WOW and the online process was super easy. Great options and easy checkout. I was able to ask for no dairy and she was most definitely able to make adjustments. We picked up our lunch sacks and the orders were correct. The sandwich was delicious (gammon and chutney & the vegan with hummus). The added pastry was a surprise and much appreciated. Great value great meal and great experience.
E D — Google review
We did a tour through WOW Scotland and had Lisa fix us lunch. It was amazing! I had the bacon and leek quiche and my friend had a pasta salad. The cookies were delicious and there was a Walnut Zucchini muffin that was the highlight of the lunch (for me). If you stop by, you have to see the art gallery. So many unique pieces to browse. I bought one to bring back home with me. I’ll definitely return when I come back to the Isle of Skye. ❤️ Thank you, Lisa, for your hospitality!
Lori W — Google review
I ordered lunch during my tour of Skye (via WOW Scotland, also highly recommended) and was delighted with the quality of the ingredients, the preparation, and the gluten-free options! Liza was very kind and welcoming, and I was able to pick up a beautiful piece of vintage jewellery in the art gallery upstairs during our stop. A series of delightful surprises!
Kate S — Google review
I was on a tour of the Isle of Skye through Wow Scotland. The tour company arranged for lunch to go. We individually ordered online, picked up the lunches on the way. I had the bacon & leek quiche, salad, a little cake. I also ordered an apple scone. Everything was fabulous! The quiche was delicious even cold! The scone only had butter (I didn’t order the extra jam) I didn’t need it. So good! Treat yourself and stop by. You won’t regret it!
Jane H — Google review
We ordered a packed lunch from the Isle of Skye Baking Company and it was absolutely perfect—from the thoughtful presentation to the delicious, homemade flavors. Everything was clearly made and packed with care, down to the smallest detail. The gammon ham sandwich (slow-roasted for 10 hours!) on potato bread with apple relish was a standout—flavorful, fresh, and genuinely comforting. The snack box was a hit with my daughter: a generous mix of cheese, fresh fruit, ham, cucumber, cherry tomatoes, bread, and the perfect little slice of chocolate cake to end on a sweet note. This is clearly a small, heart-driven local business run by a lovely couple, and it shows.
Inna Z — Google review
We loved everything we got from the Isle of Skye Baking company. We stopped by while we were on a WOW tour of the Isle of Skye from Inverness (also wonderful) and picked up takeaway lunches. We ordered ahead of time and had several great options. We had the spicy sweet potato stuffed bread and the ham pizza. Both were delicious! Not pictured because we ate them too fast to stop and take a photo. Also included in our meals were shortbread cookies, a zucchini cake, and a chocolate espresso cake. We loved everything we had. We also added on a lemon drizzle cake which we saved for our train ride back to Edinburgh, and even a day later it was incredible. If you have a chance to stop by for some pastries, for lunch, or to look at the lovely art gallery that’s connected, we would highly recommend it! We also purchased some art from the gallery that was hand made by a local artist, they have some beautiful pieces mostly depicting the Isle of Skye.

Nestled in the picturesque Isle of Skye, Dunvegan Bakery & Coffee Shop is a delightful haven for those seeking a cozy spot to indulge in sweet treats and aromatic brews. Renowned for its heavenly apple turnovers, this charming bakery exudes warmth and hospitality, thanks to its friendly owners who bring an old-world charm to every visit.
Super little bakery with lovely owners. Had a long chat with them about their time there (40years) and current economic problems on Skye (lack of staff , costs etc. ). Due to lack of staff they no longer do table service, takeaway only, but there are tables outside you can use and bins for rubbish to clear up afterwards. We had coffee and some pasty/bridie type savouries and a couple of apple turnovers. Took a corn loaf for home (massive handmade crusty loaf, a bargain £2.50 compared to what you would pay in an artisan bakery anywhere else). Highly recommend.
Will M — Google review
Tasty food that was extremely reasonably priced. The sausage, egg roll was on freshly prepared bread and was delicious. Cakes were moist and flavoursome. Staff were friendly. It’s take away only as it’s a very small space but much worth a visit!
Jennifer C — Google review
An absolutely outstanding bakery set in a stunning location . High quality ingredients and care and attention are used in creating bakery products that are second to none. Customer service is also first class from the lovely lady who is the owner. I cannot recommend this bakery highly enough.
Alistair H — Google review
Take away only. Small place with friendly service. Wonderful baked goods. Best value in Scotland.
Chris W — Google review
While in Scotland I became pretty much a scone fanatic (as you can’t really find them in my country) and I think it’s safe to say that, after devouring dozens of them, these were the absolute best!! The ladies serving us were very kind and even offered a couple of tips on how to make them at home (something I will most definitely try once back). While on Skye, I don’t see how you can miss out on this place! Oh, and the carrot cake was to die for.
Gabriela — Google review
Lovely bakery, got a few of their bread rolls which were perfect as cooked breakfast rolls and as cheese sandwiches. Their iced cinnabon bun with blueberries was also very nice. Would recommend getting more than one thing.
Sam — Google review
Just nipped in to see what was available. The sign says, opens at 10 and closes when they sell out, so I knew I wanted to sample what was on offer if I wasn't too late. Thankfully I wasn't. I had a peach & raspberry sponge slice and my husband had the carrot cake, along with a couple of fresh coffees with oat milk. I arrived about 11.30ish and I could see they had been busy preparing. There was so much to choose from and it all looked so delicious! Fresh bread, rolls, pies, pastries, cakes, scones, sponges and so much more. Both the cake and the sponge were so tasty and so light! And amazing value for money, all came to just over £8. Everyone was so friendly, i could have stayed and chatted forever 😌 We will definitely be back when we venture over this way again. Thank you x

We stopped by this bakery on the way back from the cliffs to grab sandwiches. It’s a takeaway, so you can’t sit inside. Simple food, delicious pastries, very friendly staff and fast service. No fancy things, but it’s exactly what is needed after a long walk.

MacKenzie's Bakery is a charming spot with a delightful array of freshly baked goods. From breakfast bacon and sausage rolls to flavorful filled rolls and salads for lunch, the menu offers a variety of options. The biscuits are exceptionally tender, while the Empire biscuits and Million dollar slice stand out as must-tries. After a day of walking, the apple turnover provides the perfect pick-me-up. Additionally, the bakery serves really nice coffee that provides a welcome break from trendy alternatives.
Very yummy food! Custard filled donut was very fresh! Highly recommend! Also got the tomato and basil soup with a toastie and it was great! The line was out the door the entire time we were there and staff was clearly overwhelmed and not having the best time.
Mackenzie Y — Google review
Nice little bakeshop located in the center of Portree with a lot of options like scones, tarts, cakes, brownies, cookies, and hot pastries. I got a cherry & coconut scone and fruit scone and enjoyed them both. The apple turnover had nice flakey pastry but I think it could have used more apple filling. My dining companion also enjoyed the biscoff bar and some of the warm savoury pastries as well.
Vivian A — Google review
MacKenzie’s Bakery offers a wealth of sweet and savory pastries as well as breads. The selection is enormous and the variety overwhelming. Don’t be surprised by the long line outside the bakery, and don’t let it discourage you. The short wait is absolutely worth it. The delicacies taste excellent. Incredibly, the prices are very family-friendly. Nowhere else can you get such quality for such a good price. Four fully loaded donuts cost us 12 pounds. We even went back two days in a row.
Jan M — Google review
This famous bakery in Portree had a queue ahead of its opening. The aroma of freshly baked bread greeted me as I stepped inside. I tried their donut, scone, and sausage rolls, and each one was a delightful experience. The donut was fluffy and light, while the cherry and coconut scone was perfectly balanced and tasted the ingredients. The sausage roll was savoury yet not too salty. And each of the bake is reasonably priced
Y T — Google review
The bakery has a plenty of different choices. The woman who attend us was very polite and suggested all some nice sweets tupically from Portree. The best place for breakfast!
Marco V — Google review
So good! We picked up sausage rolls one day and donuts each day we were on Skye. The sausage rolls were great but the DONUTS were perfection. Definitely get the salted caramel - it's a legit caramel topping and it is delicious. I've never had donuts that were so substantial but felt pretty light - a perfect mid-morning snack.
Carrianne C — Google review
this review is 4 months late but i still think of this bakery every now and then. Situated in the middle of what i would call the town square, fresh bakes are available bright and early. Prices were really decent as well. During our 3 day stay in Portree, we visited the bakery twice for the simple breakfast rolls to fuel our road trips!!! but the highlight for us was the lemon drizzle…ahh what i would give to taste that again…Staff were really lovely as well. sending love from singapore!
Rachel T — Google review
Very fortunate the bakery was very near my hostel. The best donuts I’ve tasted!!! They were pillowy soft with just right amount of sweetness. I LOVE IT SO MUCH!!! I wish I could eat this everyday!! I went exactly when they opened so I didn’t experience any queue at all! The apple-turnover was very good too! 😙

Nestled just two miles from the quaint village of Salen, The Little Bespoke Bakery is a delightful gem that promises to satisfy your cravings for wholesome food and comforting brews. This charming spot offers an inviting atmosphere where you can enjoy everything from hearty breakfasts to scrumptious brunches. With a menu featuring delicious granola, homemade scones—especially the lemon and blueberry variety—and cinnamon scrolls, every bite is a treat.
Adorable bakery that was able to accommodate gluten free and nut free dietary restrictions. Everything was delicious and a great value. The staff was super nice and the vibe was friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!!
Amy L — Google review
The coffee, cake & doughnut was around £8+ which is a decent price considering 3 items. The cake and coffee were good but the doughnut was dry and almost hard (most probably needs to be heated slightly). But the atmosphere, service and people were lovely. The bus 95 stops in Salen, so it's worth stopping, grabbing a bite to eat, wander along and see the old abandoned wooden ships/large boats and then make your way to Tobermory (the gastronomy in Tobermory is expensive and isn't "cafe culture" cuisine)
T E — Google review
Absolutely delightful place, beautifully presented and obviously cared for. Staff lovely - felt like a friend rather than customer. Highly recommend - I had pancakes with Nutella, Biscotti and bananas, my companions had pancakes with bacon and maple syrup. Rounded up with the most perfect cappuccinos and tea. Well worth visiting!
Rachel F — Google review
We came in here for breakfast after getting off the early ferry and it turned out to be a great find. It’s a cosy and well decorated little place with a nice atmosphere . We all had the granola, which was a perfect balance of healthy and sweet as well as one of their home made scones and cinnamon scrolls. Both are a must if you come here (especially the lemon and blueberry scones) as they are freshly made and soft on the inside. The coffee was great too as well as their lunch-time sandwiches (which we came back for the next day). The service was a tad slow at times but in general it was still friendly and decent

Wow! We sat in and had scrambled eggs with salmon and eggs benedict with bacon plus a selection of amazing cakes to take away. The food is stunning, the eggs were perfection and we will be visiting again to try the toasties. Delicious!!

Hungry and thirsty? Need a good breakfast/brunch/lunch? Then head on in. Pancakes, eggs, bacon and maple syrup. Breakfast rolls and soup. It’s all Very good. Well organised, good coffee, cakes. & more. Outside sitting area in addition to well arranged interior. So if you’re in Salen ... check it out. Previous visitors will know this location as the Mediterranea restaurant which closed at the end of the 2018 season.

Donut shop
Krispy Kreme is a well-established chain known for its wide range of delicious donut flavors and shapes, along with coffee and frozen drinks. It's part of a group that includes eateries like Pizza Express, Papa Johns, MeatLiquor, Tortilla, and Greggs. The stand is conveniently located after passing through security and turning right. Customers appreciate the friendly staff and great food selection. They also praise the seasonal themed donuts.
Annoying ‘reviews’ here saying the place is closed - it’s not, it’s just moved. Maybe you should do some basic searching before leaving a public review and bringing down a business’s star rating. Turn right after Duty Free and keep walking to the extension area departure gates.

Terrible coffee, basically hot brown water. I told the guy behind the counter that way too much hot water was added, but he did not care.

Not sure if it's just the ones we picked, but at £2.10 a piece they were very underwhelming. My strawberries and "Kreme" tasted like bubble gum and not in a good way. I'd stick to a simple glazed donut next time, personally.
