Been wanting to try this place for about 3 years. My thoughts as follows:: What a charming little bakery, early morning sun peeping through the large windows makes for a delightful atmosphere. Other than the locals that quickly stop here for an early morning take-away coffee and pastry, so be there early to ensure you don't loose out; there is a wonderful, quiet indoor seating area for a sit-down meal too. My ratings on the baked goods:: Baguette - 10/10 (better than Woolies) Custard puff - 10/10 (my favourite) Almond Croissant - 10/10 nice surprise to have marzipan in the middle. Ham & Cheese Croissant- 10/10 (needs to be warmed up a little at home though) Pan au raisin - 9.5/10 Peach Danish - 9/10 (The large peach is quite daunting to eat. Perhaps one could find a way to thinly slice the peach, lay across the danish and use blow torch to caramelize?) Cheese Croissant - 9/10 (just warm up at home) Chocolate Croissant - 8.5/10 (more of a Nutella tasting chocolate inside, which is nice, other than the "traditional") Plain Butter Croissant - 7.5/10 (fresh and decent size, but lacked the buttery flavour and flaky/laminated/airy pastry. Texture was more like a roll) Pain au chocolat - 6/10 (pretty dry and lacked flavour) Prices are reasonable.

Needed a cake fix. Popped down to Mackay Street In Blairgowrie for a take out this morning. Tastebud explosion - yowzer - yet to find a Lemon Meringue better than Paul’s from Patisserie de Paris. And the portion was huge! Blueberry Cheesecake also excellent. Did I mention the croissants - ‘demolished’ before taking a photo 😋 - yowzer (again) #supportlocalbusiness

Popped in just to grab-and-go on a few paistry classics. So impressed with both the variety and the quality of items on offer. I was greeted with a warm 'good morning' and served with a smile. Couldn't be happier. P.S. check out those layers! 🤌🏼❤️

I'd definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family with an appetite for European food. The unique decor gives the place a friendly, French ambience. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The food was served simply, but appetisingly and creatively. I loved the beautifully, neat cursive in which the menu was written on a large blackboard. The only unfortunate experience was the waiter forgot to bring cold milk for my husband's coffee on both occasions. However, he was quick to bring it when reminded to do so. The service was good considering the restaurant was busy due to it being Mother's Day.

un magnifique petit déjeuner 🥐🌟 Great service, amazing atmosphere, exceptional food. Well worth the stop. Elegant in its simplicity, from the background music to the specialist deli items, just enough to take you to foreign destination. Fairly priced, next time I’ll try the famous baked cheesecake, but my Lyon breakfast was truly delicious, thank you!

Went out to enjoy a pre valentines breakfast with a French style. So I was not as too impressed but it was nice-ich morning out. The music was a bit morbid, and my croque monsieur was not as nice as I would have hoped, too rich and heavy. My wife, however, did enjoy the quiche and the cute bowls of salad and chips. For R50, she had a full meal. Their bakery was small, but it looked so yummy. The Chocolate Croissants was extremely yummy.

A slice of Paris in the Northern Suburbs of Johannesburg. Patisserie de Paris as the name suggests is a Pastry Shop/Bakery in Blairgowrie. The establishment is in a residential area and from the decor looks to be a bit dated which adds to the charm of the place. The bakery has pink walls with some graffiti pointing to days and memories of sitting under an umbrella sipping coffee and enjoying a Croissant while watching people in Paris. The bakery offers a range of baked goods including cakes, croissants, tarts, rolls etc. I saw the establishment is very popular for breakfast with patrons enjoying beautifully plated food. I was also impressed by the number of people dropping by to pick up their daily bread and other baked goods. The gig workers from Uber and Mr D were also making multiple rounds of the establishment. It’s impossible to try all the baked goods on offer so tried a few including their croissants and a pain au raisin and a peach tart. Everything was superb in my opinion. Service was friendly and food came out quick. If you’re sitting inside they also have a book shelf to enjoy a book while waiting for your food. The bakery is licensed and offers a selection of alcoholic drinks. On Sundays they offer bottomless mimosas for R 175. They also have a small pop up at Bryanston Organic Market on Saturday and Thursday with a limited selection of their baked goods. Parking on the street is free but a little limited. Highly recommended for a visit or two to savour their baked goods

I'm underwhelmed. I had high expectations. They downsized from the cute pink cafe I knew to this rich Mediterranean colours in a room. The waiters tried to get us to move from our seats twice. Almost none of the items on the menu were actually there. The teas? Almost all sold out. The cakes? 90% sold out. The food? Overpriced for the taste quality and quantity. I really wanted this to be a good experience. I really did.

The restaurant is rather chic & pretty. The food was OK. The desserts was yummy. Pricing makes sense when one has regard to the aesthetic of the restaurant and its location. Would make a gorg outing for bridal/baby showers!

The vibe here is super cool. You could completely forget you're in a shopping mall. The people I was with all really enjoyed their drinks and food. So did I. The staff was prompt and friendly. I really enjoyed my Irish coffee. ;)

Beautiful setup and the coffee isn’t bad but that’s where it stops. Burnt food prepared in stale oil, extremely limited veggie/vegan options, neglectful service and a complete lack of care from the manager - she herself even said, “I’m sorry we ruined your birthday” then she proceeded to do absolutely nothing to rectify the situation. Based on their price point, it wasn’t worth the hype - I actually wanted to try their high tea offering after I’m done with my religious fast however based on my overall experience I doubt I’ll be doing that

Walking into Just Teddy is like stepping into a Parisian dream wrapped in elegance and floral charm. The décor is luxurious with golden accents, cherry blossoms, and a warm glow — it sets the perfect mood for a chic brunch or indulgent dessert session.

An absolute Instagrammable place and one you have to go to tick off the bucket list. It’s the perfect place for an afternoon tea with the ladies or a lazy brunch spot. Food is good and the high tea is even better.

I felt it was really important to share a review of my experience. A big, heartfelt thank you to Just Teddy, Hyde Park. I arrived early to set up for a bridesmaid proposal brunch, and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly and accommodating. A special shoutout to our waitress, “Pinky” (apologies if I’ve got the spelling wrong) – you were absolutely amazing. Thank you for your fantastic service and for organising the surprise moment when the staff sang. It truly made the day even more special. I honestly can’t thank you all enough!

Nice bakery, but try and get there early enough, as items might be sold out later in the afternoon. Things could be a little tidier, but then again one probably goes to the bakery for yummy food, not to see a tidy shop.

Walked in to the bakery staff is helpful but all over the place . What was a bit concerning is we saw these savory rolls and asked the lady what was in them she was unsure but was kind enough to go find out upon her return she advised no one knows what is in the rolls not even production themselves which is a bit strange. The the lady that is one duty for the pancakes has zero customer care skills or communication skills and is very rude , we greeted her and she looked at me and my husband, proceeded to ignore us and continue her conversation with another staff member my husband then greeted her a second time and told her she was being rude this lady just decided to then glare at us with a death stare like we are the rude ones meanwhile we trying to greet her and ask for a price on the pancakes, my husband then proceeded to ask not once but 3 times how much the pancakes were and by the 3rd time she had an attitude and shouted the price at us so we decided to leave We did mange to buy a muffin, a brandy snap and rolls the muffin was quite dry and the brandy snap tasted more like coffee . The rolls were fresh and soft so no complaints there.

Was fortunate enough to grow up visiting here. Well worth the drive - make sure you get there early because items fly off the shelves in the bakery! Their frozen kroketten and bitterballen are an absolute treat for having at home and handy in the freezer. Top quality all around and both the restaurant and the bakery takes pride in this! Take a visit to the shop around the corner for some more products like the hagelslag, platte salmiakjes, and so much more. The restaurant also makes some of the nicest hot chocolate and fresh meals.

Your Petit Fours used to be one of the best things on this planet. But now whoever is making them is making the icing on the outside too thick and also has a heavy hand with the orange food colouring. Please use more water for the outside icing and apply a thinner layer of it... You are ruining them by doing this. The person applying the icing lacks training. They have been the same all these years and now they are only half as good due to the icing problem... It's almost like a clay. I bought them twice now the past month and they were the same both times, I was sorry I bought them because they are not as good as they used to be. 🙄 Also another complaint. Please keep your mini sausage rolls warm. You scoop them up on that dozen scoop and then they get cold while waiting for the next customer. You gave me ice cold sausage rolls this morning. I wanted to sneak one in the car and I almost spat it out because a cold sausage roll isn't enjoyable at all. Pies are meant to be warm. You have an oven right there in the display unit... Oh and 2 weeks ago I bought a croquette and found a massive piece of fat in it. A 2cm piece of fat. How do you even miss that? It was very nauseating. It will be a while before I buy from you again because you have disappointed me twice in a row now, so your standards have dropped.

We love getting pancakes on Saturday mornings. They are delicious and fresh. We also often buy breads from there which are always delicious. This is a part of Edenvale and we love being able to share in all its deliciousness.

Every single item from this place is simply delicious and of the highest quality. The chicken pies are the best pies by far! My go-to items are the cashew slices, petite fours, French loaf, pecan tartlets, and the eclairs. Amazing service as well 👏 🙌👌

Best Pies in Edenvale and The Cheese and Ham little thing is wonderful too. OMG l could get eat them Everyday and never get tired. But the sitting space is a bit small. Only 6 chairs but l think there is not a lot of demand for the Sitting space. Cause they are almost always empty

I have given it a chance three times now, the stuff is horrible, this morning the till lady literally shouted at a customer for nothing, and i mean nothing. you will stand there waiting to be serviced and they will serve their regular costumers first and jump you. the baked good? my goodness, a 2/10. the cheesecake is never fresh. the base is all soggy and mushy, just disgusting to be honest. nothing is ever fresh. i am so disappointed as their menu is good but 0 in freshness. they really need to vet their worker, coz the service is just bad.

Most amazing little bakery. Go there on a regular basis, especially for their bread, bread rolls and Brezeln.

I placed and order because the reviews were so great, but my experience was not the same. The almond croissants were dry and hardly to no filling for the size, the plain ones were dry and the brioche bread they forgot to deliver and said they would deliver the Monday, but I only got it today, Thursday and its was old because it just crumbled to crumbs when cutting into it. So I didn't feel it was worth the money I spent.

The baked good are delicious got a lemon poppy seed infused like Danish pastry. But I must say that service is bad we stood there for 10 mins no one paid attention to us. Could do better but it's a cute little store unexpected in the middle of braam

Had the chocolate cake today bought at Braamfontein, the cream not fresh (tasted like it was an in between blend of butter cream and some fresh creme), the sponge was dry,I also don't understand the jam on the cake. Not good quality cake for the price. Honestly, I've eaten better cake from a supermarket. Truly disappointing.

As French I was craving for a croissant 🥐 and found that bakery while shopping at the Rosebank mall and let me tell you that I was not disappointed! The plain croissant was good and convinced me to get more there so I went for the Benedict eggs and waffle! It was delicious, I’m so glad I had it and definitely recommend that place!

It was 10H00 and We ordered Hamburger on Brioche roll and a Breakfast Bagel.. Brioche roll was so stale, rock hard. I asked for it to be changed with fresh Brioche roll.. I got my hamburger back on a plain sesame roll.. I asked the manager why I did not get a brioche roll as per the menu.. and why nobody came back to explain the change.. she (manager) said that there were no fresh brioche rolls.. but no apology that they decided to change the roll without informing me first.. such a disappointment.. bagel wasn’t fresh either.. won’t be back anytime soon

I like this place because it is next to my house. We always buy fresh bread and cookies. The service is good. But today I found an egg shell in my favorite cookie ☹️ It's not pleasant, from now on be careful and watch the cooking

The food here is usually very good, so we trusted them for a sandwich platter. We were told the platter would feed 10-12 people, but received the equivalent of one loaf of bread and a few slices of cheese and 7 baby tomatoes for R550. Presentation wasn't even really considered.

We visited Olivia’s Coffeebake out of curiosity after seeing their Google reviews. Initially, we bought a takeaway quiche, which the lady said was chicken and mushroom. It looked delicious, so we ordered it to go as we were in a hurry. Once outside, we noticed how lovely the seating area looked and decided to have coffee there. However, when we asked for a fork to enjoy the quiche, we were told we had to pay an extra R80 because we were now eating it outside. Whether that was for the fork or a small side salad (which we didn’t want), I’m still not sure — but R80 seems excessive for either. We decided not to eat the quiche there and just had coffee instead. The waiter was excellent — friendly and professional — but the policy and handling of the situation felt very unprofessional. When we eventually ate the quiche, it was disappointing: one tiny piece of chicken (about the size of a marble) in the entire portion. It was essentially an egg and mushroom quiche, not the chicken and mushroom we were sold. Overall, the experience was disappointing, and I wouldn’t rush back.

First time visit to Olivia's and loved the warm atmosphere. The food was fresh and flavourful. Our waitress was attentive and gave us great service despite it being a really busy morning. The bakery is so tempting with all its delights. Great potential to becoming a regular breakfast spot ♡

I have always had goid service at Olivias and i go there often for thier quiches. I know they are the best quiches and that they sell out quickly so I placed a telephonic order for two of them. Driving all the way from Pretoria I was boasting about how great the queshes are, to my dissapointment my order was incorrect and only one quiche was available leaving me dissapointed and embarresed with quests i invited over. I truly hope that the next time I place an order that more attention will be taken

Authentic cafe on the corner where you can sit safely outside and watch the world go by in peace. Friendly staff and good value for money food. Freshly baked croissants every day and excellent breakfast and lunch choices. Unfortunately the meat pie was very disappointing.

This might be THE most comfy hangout spot in Linden (maybe even in the whole Randburg). People have meetings here, work on laptops, buy stuff from the bakery or just spend their entire pong lunch here (like me:). Very warm and welcoming atmosphere✨

Very cool spot. Had the French toast with banana, added avo in place of the bacon. Bought pastries to take away which were devine. Loads of seating outside as well as inside. Friendly service.

Service from Brian was good. I ordered a cappuccino chiller/crusher for R32.00, it had the faintest taste of coffee so I asked them to fix it with a shot of Expresso and recieved a great coffee drink. Sister ordered cappuccino at R23.00 with cream it came with no cream.The cream was asked for a again and came in a bowl however good cup of coffee. Sister ordered a fruit cocktail fruit juice at R26.00 it was trash. A cordial type drink it was so watery that we sent it back. We then ordered food which was delicious!!! I had eggs Benedict at R60 money well spent here (hint for the kitchen a little lemon in hollandaise will go a long way). Sister had a breakfast with 2 eggs, mushrooms, grilled tomato, boerewors and bacon for R65.00 she says it was pretty good but wors was over-cooked and one egg was further cooked than the other. Overall an okay experience if it was not for the service, I don't think we would visit again.

Bread is a very regular purchase at your grocery store, but when you are buying bread from Not Bread Alone you are buying the best bread with the best ingredients and the proof is in how quickly it sells. The pies are amazing the cakes delicious and the sit down menu has a lot to offer, prepared fresh and it will have you coming back on many occasions. Thomas and the many other staff members are helpful and friendly. Well worth a visit

Not bread alone is a bucket list bakery! Absolutely delicious pastries and pies. Pies filled with fresh and tasty meats and veggies. Drool worthy pastries and cakes. A wonderful outside area to sit and enjoy your treats. A lovely spot for a weekend treat and coffee.

When it comes to food, not only do I take the time to enjoy every little bite but food takes me on a journey of moments and memories and places that I have traveled to. I often reminisce when I drink my coffee about all the wonderful places I have traveled to and all the bakeries and patisseries I have had the pleasure to enjoy something to eat and drink while listening to the the laughter of people and watching everyone walking by. I stood outside Not Bread Alone Randburg for a short while as the aromas filled the air of freshly baked pies and cake and coffee and I could not wait to sit down and enjoy this journey. Welcomed with smiles all around and a shop where everything looked delicious, it was time to taste, Carrot Cake 🥕 moist and delicious, not too sweet and the slice was just enough. Grenadilla Cake 🎂 OMG the icing was superb and the gentle flavour of the Grenadilla came through with each bite. The Pies 🥧 and if you are anything like me, pies are my go to meals. I tried yes not all of them there but I bought some for home as they are easy to freeze, chicken and mushroom, cornish, beef and onion and the famous sausage roll, each one packed with flavour and delicious. Their croissants are extremely filling and take aways are always a good option. Coffee is as always yummy Take some time out and go visit them, you definitely will not be disappointed.

I have been going to not bread alone for years and they never disappoint. They make the most Devine and comforting pastries in whole of joburg. Their almond croissant is an absolute blessing. It is perfectly flakey with a slight chew and their filling is perfect not too sweet. My other recommendations is their; quiche, pain au chocolat, cheese croissant, custard slices, and chicken pies. Something very special that some may not know about is pre-ordering their chicken Lasagna, best lasagna and lovely to share with family at home! Love not bread alone!

I bought a variety of platters for a kitchen tea. What a treat! Everything was delicious and fresh. The whole experience was easy with no fuss and very good value.

What an incredible find.. almost too good to share, but it seems from how busy it is, lots of people know about it..the tastiest , fresh, homemade food, that you can tell they have taken care in making every single dish, full of flavour and my best is that they offer an all day breakfast... well till they close at 2.30pm.. even huge takeaway homemade pies... And the bakery is amazing..You can't go there and not feel like you just got hugged by your fairy food mother.

Saw the place coincidentally after having lunch in La Parada. I was craving the cake and saw these spectacular cakes on display. I decided to give it a try. I tasted the granadilla one, and it was pretty interesting. The white hot chocolate with marshmallows was really nice. I loved the vibe, an aesthetic much.

HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE! We are extremely dissatisfied with the service provided by this so-called flagship wedding cake bakery. We were promised a lot during our initial consultations, which included a cake tasting and a detailed discussion about our requirements. Given that our cake was required to travel six hours to our destination( first back to our home town and then picked up by a guest and driven to the location) , one of our strict requirements was that the cake be packed securely. We "specifically" requested that no perspex be placed on top of the cake, as we planned to assemble it at the venue. This was conveyed to Kelly cakes, and they just ignored this. It made traveling with the cake so much more difficult. Unfortunately, the bakery continually changed the pickup time, which was concerning since we live an hour away. When the day finally arrived, we were confronted with the most shocking situation: the cake was not packed securely at all, and the perspex was already placed on top of the cake. Considering it had to travel a significant distance, this was highly inappropriate. To make matters worse, when our driver arrived to pick up the cake, no one from the bakery assisted him in carrying it to the car, despite the visible damage. This experience has left us extremely disappointed, and we would never recommend this bakery to others. It was an unnecessarily exuberant experience that fell far short of our expectations.

Absolutely stunning and delicious—our wedding cake was perfect! The design matched our theme beautifully, and each tier had a unique, mouthwatering flavor. Guests couldn’t stop talking about it. Flawless presentation, incredible taste, and truly unforgettable. Highly recommend!

I walk past almost every day to the gym and was only tempted recently to try one of their glorious looking cakes. But I didn't just buy 1 slice, because I wanted to order one for my birthday. Knowing that it would probably be impossible to order a custom cake for delivery the following day, I opted to have their store carrot cake, which the shop manager happily ordered from the bakery on my behalf. Even though it was a 'standard' cake it definitely drew a few 'oohs' from my guests when I unboxed it at my party. It was beautifully decorated and absolutely delicious, although I do think the frosting or cake could be less sweeter, just to balance the flavours out more. There was more cake than my 10 guests could finish and I happily took home a quarter to feast later!

I love a bakery/cake boutique that understands cake, and Kelly Jaynes just nails it . I've been there about three times trying out different flavors of cake, and I've never been disappointed. Their cakes are so moist,fresh, and just the right dash of sweetness. Their slices are oh so generous, and I love their different flavor combinations. On my recent trip ,I ordered the Activated Black Charcoal Cake, and it was divine. If you have a hankering for something sweet and delicious, definitely pop in their boutique. And if you love cheesecake and different varieties of cheesecake, then hurry,hurry.

We recently ordered chocolate salted caramel cupcakes for our wedding and the whole process was a great experience. After struggling to find a bakery who would even reply, Kelly Jayne's was on the ball from the start and very communicative which we appreciated. On the wedding day, the cupcakes were delivered well on time and looked exactly like the reference picture we sent. When it came time for dessert, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their cupcake and we couldn't be happier with the taste.

My experience at Walnut Grove was truly delightful, marked by a charming ambiance and an incredibly welcoming staff. Godfrey, our server, went above and beyond to ensure we felt attended to, delivering service that was both prompt and attentive. Impressively, my meal arrived within about 10 minutes of placing my order. I chose a delicious chicken prego roll, which had a satisfying blend of flavors that I would rate a 7/10. The roll was perfectly fresh, and the chicken was tender and savory, complemented by a zesty sauce that elevated the dish. I can confidently say that Walnut Grove is a fantastic venue for group breakfasts or leisurely lunches, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant dining experience.

Had such a lovely experience here today! My waitress Joana was friendly and attentive, and the manager Brilliant truly lived up to his name. I accidentally left my phone in the bathroom and only realised about 20 minutes later, when I rushed back, Brilliant had kept it safe and even put it on charge for me. So grateful for their honesty and kindness, they saved me from a major panic (and about R15 000!).

Every bite is an explosion in the mouth. You can never go wrong with a visit to Walnut Grove. Worth every penny!

My niece ordered this fabulous red velvet cake for a 60th, it was massive, fresh, and oh so delicious! What a fantastic cake!

I use to love coming here on a Saturday for a mid afternoon coffee whilst shopping at Sandton however the past two visits have been very disappointing. Besides the restaurant not been kept clean (so much “litter” from sugar and sweet wrappers on the floors), the service is below standard with staff reflecting a busy days work with less interest in clients after the lunch rush. Both past meals were average - I don’t believe I’ll be back anytime soon. Management didn’t appear very interested in the feedback offered.

I've been to Walnut four times, and the first three times were great - delicious food, attentive waiters, etc. Except, the last time I was there was a catastrophe. My friend's food and I took so long to arrive and we had no updates whatsoever from the waiter, manager, etc. The wait was so long, at a fancier restaurant we would have been given free drinks or bread, a small plate to eat while waiting. After the long wait, we were told that they got my order wrong and had the redo the whole thing (after we found the waiter after 30 minutes). Really a terrible experience compared to the other times.

Having been here before I knew what to expect, a pleasant experience, which was had. Came on a weekend and the mall was packed but was lucky to find a table for lunch. The entire deco is spot on, love the over hanging lights. The food was exceptional. I must admit, prices where a bit on the higher side but I guess you're paying for great service and food. I'll give them an overall rating of 9/10.

Robert - I have often had a very good coffee and a delicious cake or pastry at CG. Today not so much. I ordered a spinich, mushroom and feta pie. The pastry was so tough, I would have done better with a chain saw than a knife. The pie filling was like a thick soup, without any texture and it was tasteless. Finally, my Americano coffee was average to say the least. This was not what I have come to expect from CG. The service was very good and the staff was attentive. I love the decor and the ambience of CG. I hope the good standard I have experienced in the past will return.

I ordered a cake through Uber Eats, the driver realised he didn’t feel comfortable delivering in Johannesburg CBD and he turned away, he lied and said I wasn’t at the address. Uber Eats charged me for the cake I never received. I am very disappointed, if only you selected only the safe places to deliver at. I

Delicious coffee with a rich selection of tasty treats! Very accommodating as I requested my coffee to be made in a certain way and they followed it exactly. The pricing of their baked goods is a bit expensive but is perfect for a special occasion.

Chateau Gateaux is cake heaven. To spoil yourself or the one you love on any special day definitely visit this place or order from Uber Eats. OMG!!! They serve the perfect cake with the perfect moisturizer and rich in flavor. I have ordered from Chateau for over three years and they have never let me down. Their baker 👨‍🍳 or baking team are masters at cakes. Well done guys...love myself a Chateau Gateaux cake!

We recently celebrated my Ouma's retirement at Whisk Wine Bar, and it was absolutely amazing! The ambience was perfect for our celebration. While others enjoyed their drinks, I personally loved my hot chocolate and the delicious whiskey cocktail. The food was great, and the service was excellent, making for a truly memorable day. Highly recommend!

We visited the Whisk Wine Bar on 29 December 2024.A five star rating for food,service and atmosphere this is what Whisk Wine Bar is.We had a kids chicken strips and chips, a focaccia and quiche with chips which was all fantastic and well priced too.You also have lots of sauces to choose from free.The food was really good and great service.Play area for kids is plentiful and your kids will love this place.I would highly recommend bringing the family and kids to come lovely food, service and atmosphere here.A great restaurant and place to spend time with loved ones.

Used to love this place, haven’t visited in a while, seems it got a bit expensive for the amount of food we received. Service was great, she really went out of her way for us. Deserts was great, had all of them and shared across the table, the peppermint tart is a bit funky as it was very gelatin heavy. Food is great just pricey vs portion size.

First time I went to Whisk today. What a totally awesome place for the whole family. The food was also awesome and the prices are affordable. Will definitely be going there again, with friends and family.

A scrumptious breakfast was had. There are a variety of delicious options to choose from, all depending on your mood, time of visit, and the weather. Kids are well entertained during your visit here with the pond of ducks, jungle gyms, and Plantland next door. Take your significant other, group of friends, the whole family, or your 4-legged kid for a good time out.

Waiters are friendly, and waiting time is standard. The food is good, and the vibes are great. The venue is well decorated and interesting. The restaurant itself is way more memorable than the actual food. The waitress recommended the spinach and feta balls, but it was dense, not well seasoned, and couldn't find any feta. It's not something I would order again. The pizza I'd give an 8 out of 10 and the pastas a 7. The last time I ate there, I had the butternut soup and mild peri peri chicken wings, which was AMAZING! Definitely going to order that again. The bathrooms could maybe use some upgrades in several areas and proper cleaning Whisk is good for meeting up with friends, special events like baby and bridal showers, business meetings, birthday parties, and romantic dates. Had a fantastic morning out with the wife and your boy Judge Dread. I ordered a unique item that wasn't on the menu, and although it wasn't as I wanted it was still pretty good. Gave me the opportunity to try another restaurants vegetarian options

The food at tashas in Bedfordview was fantastic, with flavors that really impressed. However, I was disappointed to find that the pricing didn’t include VAT, which was added afterward. I was also initially told the wrong price, which led to some confusion when the bill arrived. This was a first for me, and it would be helpful if the pricing was more transparent. Aside from that, it was a great dining experience, and I would recommend it for the food quality.

Breakfast at Tashas never disappoints😋 This time I tried not to go for my usuals and I was happy with my decision. The Rosti breakfast hit all the right spots and was the perfect hearty & filling breakfast😋 The chops were also just a great, juicy and flavourful . I was sceptical seeing that it was located at a shopping centre but that later turned out to not be a problem at all

Tasha's is a serene oasis, but be prepared to pay a premium for the ambiance (The Air) as much as the food. Just don't forget to bring plenty of cash 💸 💰 🤑 😅. Food review: poached eggs and spinach was great , however the carrot cake was dense .

Tasha’s is always a 10s across the board for me. The consistency is what will make me choose this restaurant over and over and over again. Breakfast and lunch options are both amazing. The outside area is amazing, the food is fresh, the staff is friendly. For all the years I’ve been going to Tasha’s, every location, they thrive in excellence. The just do it right. Simple, good, quality and consistent food, ALWAYS. Love it!

Pleasant place with good food and service, but don't sit inside although it has such classical theme. The kitchen staff was so loud that it became hugely annoying even though they were effective in getting the orders out during a busy Saturday morning.

The was good. Nothing fancy - at least, not the light Saturday lunch we had - but very enjoyable. The service was friendly and attentive, without being intrusive. Wasn't busy even we were there, so the atmosphere was quiet and relaxing. Great for a chat with a friend we hadn't seen in a while.

Nice food however there's only one waiter,we had to wait when we walked in to be attended to,we initially reserved our seat however no one seemed to know even the waiter. Also we were not allowed to take pictures outside the restaurant as they snatch phones from people. Please try out the restaurant but be prepared to wait,the food is scrumptious.

Came across this bakery via their Facebook page, and the treats appeared tempting, so we decided to give it a try for lunch (got there at about 12h45) on a Saturday. It was very quiet with maybe 4 tables occupied. This bakery advertises sweet and savory baked goods, a breakfast, and a lunch menu. So, the positive aspects of our experience are that the food was freshly prepared, plentiful, and tasty. We ordered two meals off the breakfast menu, the grilled lemon chicken, bacon and avo baguette, and the crispy chicken burger. The breads and buns are baked in-house and are tasty. The food was also seasoned well. Drinks ordered were a filter coffee, an apple, mint and ginger granita, and a chocolate milkshake. The drinks were also good. We then had enough time (after receiving our drinks order and before being able to place our lunch order!) to look over the sweet baked options and opted for the mille feuille, the baklava and a salted caramel tart. We opted to have this as part of our meal at the restaurant. We then had to flag our waiter to be able to place our lunch order. And then the "not so positive" aspects of our experience: despite there being very few tables occupied, service was very slow. It took us more than two hours from start to receipt of the bill. Most concerning was the fact that a number of the sweet and savory baked goods were laid out/displayed on a countertop. NONE of the items on the countertops were covered by any protective covering! Flies were obviously making themselves "comfortable" on several of these items. We brought this to the attention of a waiter and (I think) the manager and suggested that they cover the items to prevent insects sitting on the food and/or maybe burning coffee grounds to keep flies away. In response, the waiter did nothing and the manager made, what looked like a feeble attempt for a few minutes, to stand in front of the counter display and chase the flies away by hand. He then gave up this attempt, and the countertop items continued to be exposed to the flies. When we left (after about 2 hours), nothing else had been done to address the situation, and the flies were still observed to be enjoying the bounty! Thirdly, there were only 2 waiters on duty, which should have been okay-ish given the number of patrons, but the server's attitude came across as slow and apathetic. Also, apart from helping us with the baked sweet items that were not exposed to flies (these were in a closed off glass display cabinet), the "manager" was not present at all. This place is in Melville, Jhb, and parking is available on a first come, first served basis, on the street. All in all, this place has lots of potential, but there is also a LOT of room for improvement.

Great Café! I've been there for both breakfast and luch. Both menus offer a wide variety of dishes. The food is appealing to the eye and tastes delicious. The bakery offers a wide variety of baked goods. Everything from chocolate croissants to teramiso! All prices are reasonable. The manager is active on the floor and checks in with the guests. The staff are all attentive and friendly. All COVID-19 regulations are in place. Everyone wears masks and the tables are spaced so as to ensure social distancing. The tables are sanitized after the guests leave. Overall a great experience will definitely be back!

Very disappointed with the sandwich. The positives were that the bread and cheese were excellent. I ordered the spicy beef toasted sandwich. The beef was not pleasant in the sense that it was very firm and it had a very gamy off putting taste. The was a small piece of Jalapeño. Honestly, it was just crap. I don’t believe that this is the norm, and would probably give it another go. The service was just crap as I got a bit attitude from the waitress when I asked if this was the correct order. Nothing that arrived suggested that there was anything spicy.👎

It was mid afternoon and I was feeling peckish so a friend recommended we try the Lucky Bread Company, and I’m glad I did. The waitress was intelligent and friendly and suggested the toasted sourdough beef sandwich with sweet chilli sauce which was delicious and just what I needed. The preparation time was longer than I expected but the meal quality was worth the wait.

I don’t usually give reviews but I thought I should after 5 years of CONSISTENT delicious pastries and good service. Their pastries are amazing and not once have I ever been disappointed by their pastries. They were sold out on the pain au chocolate so I decided to try something new, which was a strawberry cheesecake croissant. Whoever came up with the idea to add this croissant, is an absolute genius. I had a ratatouille moment 🥹. One of the best croissants I’ve ever had. Also had a donut custard. Amazing as always. I love how their treats are not too sweet either.

The food is amazing now. I can surely not complain about that and the coffee amazing. I've got to say it's the best! The only issue I noticed is the service. Some waiters take long to come see if the table needs something. But since my waiter disappeared, I had to go look where the manager is to ask for the bill. Just need to work on the service.

Wonderful medium roast blend coffee and delicious Fresh man Sandwich and moist carrot cake. Unfortunately the waffle machine was broken, and had to order plain croissant but it was dry. All in all nice place to visit with family and friends

Found this cute lil spot in Brooklyn Mall, the food was superb, I had a lucky breakfast something with a dirty chai latte and my companion had a Zulu breakfast board with a berry smoothie of some sort. The food was beautifully presented, well prepared and most of all budget friendly. Sourdough bread is amazing 👌🏽👌🏽👌🏽. The menu is quite extensive for a small joint but service is really good. I will definitely go again.

A Heavenly Slice of Patisserie La Patisserie is a true gem in Illovo. The white and dark chocolate cake was pure indulgence—rich, smooth, and unforgettable. The red velvet cupcakes were perfectly moist with a luscious cream cheese frosting, while the banana loaf was wars full of flavor. The real stars? The tarts—absolutely heavenly, with buttery pastry and delicious fillings. Every bite here feels like a treat. Highly recommended!

The service was amazing and the coffee shop is quaint and makes for a great location for a coffee date, however the red velvet cake wasn't as great as I had anticipated. The frosting was grainy and too buttery but I am keen to try their other cakes.

A beautiful bakery. Friendly staff with welcoming atmosphere. There are quite a few out of the way seats. Ideal for a high tea or posh get together. Prices are on the hefty side for the portions, however it is of good quality and served quickly. Staff started clearing tables and such prior to official closing time which made it feel like they might be pushing us out.

A homely cafe crowded with locals. The seats were relatively small, but there were many seats, and it was crowded when I went. We were carrying a baby, but the all clerks were very kind to us.

The BEST toasted sarmie, I have ever had! Bread toasted just enough to be crispy, right amount of cheese and tamato. Lightly seasoned with salt and pepper! I was so happy about that, because not all the places put salt and pepper. And you can't season a sarmie after its been toasted. Just the right amount of mayonaise, no funny business of extra sauce on your chin or dripping on your lap! This really was a wonderful place. Waiters and Managers greeting regulars with a fist pump and some even with a hug! I will definitley be back!

Best egg Benedict in PTA. Lovely service. Good coffee. Parking and all that in a quiet suburb with street lined with jacaranda. So refreshing that it is not a chain but a place with its own identity and style.

I went there for brunch on Monday. Positives: Their "Savoury Crepe" was really delicious and filling. I asked for medium eggs and a side salad. I liked my meal very much. I recommend adding some tomatoe sauce and Tobasco to kick the flavours up a notch. Negatives: Not much criticism here, only their cutlery sets does look worn out and the bottom of the walls/pillars are dirty. I think an update to the interior would do wonders to their atmosphere. Overall, this is an affordable and convenient place to get breakfast and lunch. The staffs here are friendly and I thoroughly enjoyed my food.

Nice menu. Service was good. The chairs are not very comfortable. But that is the only downside. The pastries and food are great. Try the chocolate croissants, they are delicious, and the Chicken Mayo toasted sandwiches! The ice-creams are also good.

Got a pasta takeaway, was very salty and the cubes of meat weren't very tasty, felt with a chopped up Vienna. The pasta was cooked well and the flavours were ok... Not something i would order again. Definitely wasn't worth the price...

Convenient stop if you need a break from shopping at the retail park . Good drinks specials (draw card) and some of the baked goods are quite yum. Food is fine . Huge portions but not great for quality and taste . Crossaint was bready . Spinach was so salty I couldn’t eat it . And unfortunately they can’t poach an egg . But again no or the price you can overlook it . I suspect most people come for the drinks anyway so maybe would be back if I’m very starving amid a long day of shopping . Coffee and service we good

Bought a few baked goodies on a Sunday morning for tea. The giant chocolate muffin was half-baked and still had a big clump of raw dough in the centre.

It is my first time and have to be honest it feels like such an authentic experience. The staff is friendly and the coffee was good. Ordered Custard Canoly take away and it looks good 🌸. Me and Hubby wil return to try out the more German food.

I wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt, after reading the Google reviews; but alas, should've listened to them. Seems like you need to pay more attention to your bad reviews; you seem to respond only to good reviews, and ignore bad reviews, because it seems like nothing has improved. Please realize that your customers write bad reviews to give you a chance to improve. Went there for breakfast - food is VERY oily, so didn't feel well afterwards. The atmosphere is really nothing to write home about, very noisy and not peaceful at all. No vibe, no home-y feel as I've come to expect with many other fantastic coffee shops in the area. Please work on that.

This used to be my go-to local bakery when the old man and lady were running it. The quality and freshness has slipped over time. Today, I was sold dry, crumbly croissants and day old seed bread at a premium price. No thanks, no more…

Der Zucker Backer came highly recommended by friends and family. Service was great and our waitress was friendly and efficient. Both the inside of the bakery and the seating area are clean and neat. Our breakfast was delicious, however the toast with the Eggs Benedict was incredibly tough, making it almost impossible to eat with a knife and fork. I had a vanilla latte and it was delicious!! Ok, the bee sting and canolys are legendary. But this time, on the waitress, Vanessa’s perfect recommendation, we had the chicken strips which had been properly fried and were not dry at all. We ordered them with a cheese sauce that had been freshly made, not from a packet or bottle. So good. Oh, and the bee sting cake and canolys…. LEGENDARY.

I would like to commend Evens and his team for quick efficient and friendly service. I arrived two minutes before closing time and they happily made me a takeaway coffee. Most other outlets stop serving up to thirty minutes sooner to start cleaning their machines. And it's nice they have three people serving to speed up the queue.

Customer service was so slow,we placed an order 2 days prior to collection and on the day it took us over 30min to get our order.

Upon arriving at 8:30 AM, despite the website indicating an 8:00 AM opening time, the employees were found outside. When inquired about the opening time, they confirmed it was 8:00 AM but mentioned they were awaiting the manager, who was still arranging transportation.

This is our local coffee shop and we hardly miss a Saturday morning! It does get busy at times, we like to go early though. Most delicious bakes, friendly staff and you can see the master baker at work. It is a classic, baked like your grandma did it. Fresh flowers on the tables frequently, a new delight almost every visit. We love Oregano <3

I was looking forward to visiting Oregano based on a few reviews regarding their pastries and cakes. I was in the area and popped in for breakfast/brunch. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing. The place was almost empty at 10am on a Saturday - 3-4 tables occupied at the most. We sat next to the windows, which offered a nice breeze, and noticed empty sugar packets left on the table by previous customers - not a good first impression. We looked at the menu and placed our orders straight away. I had to ask for our bottle of water 3 times, and a different waiter only brought it after my coffee and my partner's "banana and peanut butter smoothie" arrived. It is, without a doubt, the worst banana and peanut butter smoothie we've had. No banana or peanut butter was coming through - it was like an off-white milky frappe. We asked the waiter to please request some peanut butter to be blended, but it was the same tasteless drink when he brought it back. My Americano was good, but I also had to request my side order of milk 3 times. We waited a very long time for the food, which was simple: scrambled eggs on toast with extra avo (photo attached), pawpaw, and 2 poached eggs. The eggs were properly cooked, but definitely not worth the 30 minute wait. The furniture looks old; the wooden chairs are chipped everywhere... something you can easily fix with some sealant and care. The bathrooms are tucked away in a sort of underground floor, after you walk through a dark room... it looks like a tavern; I don't enjoy going to places where the bathrooms are not tidy, as to me, it shows how the restaurant is managed. I rarely write bad reviews, especially for small businesses, but today, we felt uncomfortable from the minute we arrived until we left. We experienced poor service, and the manager was on site sitting at one of the few busy tables - There needed to be more attention to detail and service quality control. Sadly, we will not recommend Oregano to friends or family.

I ordered a fresh cream covered, chocolate caramel birthday cake for my daughter for the first time from the Gingerbread Lady bakery as I am from KZN. The service was excellent, however, I was very disappointed with how small the cake was at first. Then upon cutting into the cake it was overly dry and it didn't taste or resemble anything near what I wanted. The fresh cream tasted like butter but a bit sour and the cake itself was like bitter chocolate and the caramel was chewy. It was meant to serve 10 people and I paid R650 for it and it was very small. Now I'm glad it was small, but I am just very disappointed about how much I paid for a cake that was so inedible.

You are greeted by an amazing smell when you walk in and receive great service nomatter who you speak to. My hubby and I love their baked goods and they have also made some lovely cakes for us.

Had the most delicious ginger muffin with a strong cuppucino at the coffee shop. The cookies and chocolate bombs in the display cabinets are gorgeous and looks mouth watering, would make lovely gifts. Lovely place to have a bite or order a cake.

I go at least once a week when l go to chamdor for Coffee & a delicious muffin for R45. There Chicken Mayo is divine. They make there own bread. It's so big you have to share or take half home.

I love a good rye bread and buy it at the Brotstube regularly. Having visited family in good old Germany recently I can confirm that the rye bread from the Brotstube compares very well with top bakeries in Germany. Unfortunately, so does the price. But it is still worth it.

Sweet staff. Awesome 100% rye bread baked without yeast - delicious! But bienenstich not up to scratch. Too sweet, with a thick lemon flavoured bread base. If you’re looking for bienenstich rather go to Zucker Backer for the traditional version. But keep in mind that this German bakery does also have some nice slices of smoked meat as a back up for when the German Butcher (Alma) next door is closed.

I bought seeded bread rolls this week that were hard as rocks. They were few days off despite the cashier ensuring me that they were freshly baked that day! When asked, the cashier was very irritable and defensive! I am extremely unhappy with this dishonesty and the fact that they costed me R15 a piece was unreasonable. Cannot recommend!

Overpriced. R120 for a loaf of bread. It's a wonder this business survives. Sacher torte sliced cake at R68 a slice and jam doughnut was bone dry, tasteless and probably 4 days old. Terrible Terrible. Save your money and rather go to Fournos bakery. In fact your local Checkers offers tastier, fresher bakery treats at way better prices!

What a huge disappointment. Bought some carrot cake slices that were so dry and tasteless that we dumped them in the bin. The chocolate rum balls were also decidedly average, and everything was overpriced. To top it all, there were bees everywhere. Schoolfees paid, feel cheated!

Dainty Delights delivered exactly what we asked for—a tasteful 80s-themed cake with clean neon details and cassette-tape accents. Ordered a white celebration cake with buttercream icing and tiramiso filling.  Submitted a picture, pointing out detail to a professional lady Jaan-Mari that promptly replies and makes you feel you're in good hands. I was willing to pay the price under a banner of "coutour cakes" with a 4.8 star google rating.  A review from one disappointed customer made me chose a simpler design.  The final product was a let down I asked for the cake to rather be covered in one shade. The cake was not placed on the centre and felt too heavy for the 3mm thin board. It was dry and the tiramiso filling was not what I expected. Had a stressful and disappointing experience for which I paid a lot.

Unfortunately we were not happy with our wedding cake and the experience. If you pay R6675.75 for a wedding cake catering for only 40 people you expect to have the most amazing cake ever. Instead you have to pay additional R950 for a cake tasting, not your choice of flavours, and I have tasted far better cakes than their cake. Unfortunately we already paid the cake fully before the tasting and could not get a full refund as we requested. As per their website it mention they can make the cake with Buttercream or chocolate Ganache. They can only make it with Buttercream. The 3 layer cake was scew on the wedding day and not straight. I will definitely not recommend anyone to get their wedding cake from here.

As a regular client I have watched the service and hygiene of what was once my favourite little coffee shop decline! I can not accept that I was presented with a dirty tea cup and cutlery and on a dirty table. What was more concerning is the leftover evidence of my croissant being cut with a dirty knife as the evidence of either avo or basil was visible - what if I had allergies to either? Lastly, the service really has become very disappointing. On a relatively quiet morning, you still need to walk around to try find a waiter to place an order.

I was so delighted when I walked in here. The art fed me dopamine for the day. South African landscape artists on display to feed your eyeballs. Gorgeous. Add to that great service, tasty eats and ambience for days. This is worth a stop over. We had a toasted chicken sandwich on sourdough bread, but I could not post a picture. And this was my only negative. I was taking pics of the art, to share with you, when I was told that all photographs are prohibited. I was not violating anybody's privacy and the photos of the art I took is not reproducible as fake copies, but I was not asked about what I was doing, just told that I must stop. I did not like this, but I complied, hence no food photos. I did decide to share everything I took, because this art is worth knowing about.

I visited this quaint little store this morning. I'm amazed that everything they have is vegan! The staff are friendly and helpful. I left with 2 large chocolate brownies and was promised that I'd be back for more. 😊 They were absolutely deeelicious!!! Definitely will be going back for more! Looking forward to trying some of their other treats... Doughnuts, vegan cheesecake and more.

Our company ordered us gift packs from moemas, quality of snacks were old and poor. They tasted very stale. Very disappointing as I was looking forward to enjoying the snacks.

The only reason I'm giving such a low rating is I'm devastated that Moemas has decided to shut down their shop and only operate as a catering firm. Such a loss to the general public !! I asked for a specific design for a joint birthday party.The owner - I assume - assured me she would do it. What I got was such a disappointment putting a damper on my birthday. The owner then said she tried to match what I gave her - but even my 11 year old nephew said it looked bad. The owner in no way tried to remedy it. See for yourself. Great experience at Paul’s. It’s one of those places where you’d love to go during a weekend or late in the afternoon after work. You grab a pastry, a drink, sit and relax. I highly recommend the almond croissant a d chicken burger. ✨

Best croissants and other baked goodies. Service always friendly and attentive. Sandwiches were really disappointing though. Not the best bread to use for a good sandwich, chunks of meat, no class at all and not well compiled.

The Fournos franchise is renowned all over Jozi for serving great bakes and cafe food. I'm just going to be blunt and say that this branch doesn't meet up to the standards of others I've been to and here's why. Stores like to offer you a variety, but if you're known for Mediterranean style eats and drinks why follow trends and offer something as baffling as a bowl of ramen? And if you do offer it, at the very least make it delicious. My companions were rather underwhelmed by their ramen in its entirety. What I ate (Half roast chicken with a side salad) was just OK. It tasted good but when even the breast is on the dry side, that's a problem. Service was brisk, friendly and courteous enough to offer me substitutions because the juice I wanted was unavailable. I would like to suggest to all franchisees to have the consistency of your franchise, but also to step it up a bit when it comes to your individual store. Small differences keep your regulars very happy indeed and recommendations flow from them.

So not only do they do mass orders for collection for parties, the staff are so friendly, they make really good coffees, with cute messages that really brighten up the day and of course the doughnuts are made fresh and are really yummy. They also do not charge extra for lactose free alternatives!

Absolutely stupid ordering system. You might be able to get some sort of traction if the staff feel OK, but if they don't, ordering requires two seperate counters and the luck of the God's in order to get coffee and a doughnut. Apparently, the manager is OK with loosing customers and does not acknowledge that there is an issue. I won't be going back here after being a loyal customer for quite some time. I will be instructing my family and friends to avoid them, and I'll take every opportunity to inform people of the absurdity of Krispy Kreme's ordering system. We need a real coffee shop in Rosebank, one that doesn't adhere to religious indoctrination and puts their customers first.

Good sweet overload-perfect if you are not looking after your weight. Can definitely recommend the filled options-much better and better value for money-range could be a bit bigger but will satisfy most people’s cravings . Staff were pleasant and quick and store was clean. The doughnuts were totally viable for the whole of the next day(if they had lasted-but were eaten well before then).

Excellent experience. Probably the Krispy Kreme with the most seating I've seen, plus you have a nice view of how the donuts are made which the kids love.

The customer service was good. Friendly workers. The shop opens at 7am and closes at 9pm. They have a variety of delicious doughnuts. The space is clean and they have comfortable sitting areas both inside the store and outside the store.

I bought the red velvet cake which was an utter disappointment, especially considering I was assured it was baked fresh this morning. It was incredibly dry, practically disintegrating into a pile of crumbs with the slightest touch, slicing it was impossible. Beyond the terrible texture, it also had a distinctly sour aftertaste, which, combined with its staleness, made it clear it was anything but fresh. Every bite was a struggle, offering nothing but a parched, unappetizing, and frankly, unpleasant experience.

I enjoy my restaurant experience. Could have given you a 5 but the teapot… by the time ine finishes the first cup of tea, the tea remaining in the teapot is cold. Invest in those cast-iron teapots that hold heat longer. Otherwise i enjoy eating here

Besides being a bit expensive there is apparently now a “no cash” policy. It would be helpful if they indicated this somewhere outside or inside the store, as we had a valid tender method accepted in stores in South Africa (cash) but couldn’t pay for an ice cream and some croissants with it 🤷🏼‍♀️

I never notice the runners at restaurants, but there's a young man here today, Karabo, who is amazing! Usually they just slip the items onto the table and then vanish them again, but this young man greeted me, told me to enjoy my meal, and was so friendly and enthusiastic every time he attended my table. An absolute credit to my favourite coffee shop.

After a Saturday parkrun at Woodlands, we decided to stop by Fournos for breakfast. I’ve been to Fournos plenty of times over the years—it’s a staple bakery in central Johannesburg, and I’ve been to almost all of them. But I have to say, the customer service at this particular one in Woodmead is brilliant. Big shoutout to “Last” for taking great care of us and to the shop for treating us to some delicious tasters of their baked goods. If you’re after top-quality baked goods, Fournos is the place to go. Head there now!

It seems the recent complaints regarding the sale of stale and rotten food from this Fournos branch have gone unheard by those in charge. I ordered apple crumble via Mr D only to find I was sold rotten, moldy food. It’s extremely shocking how bad the quality has gotten and there seems to be little to no regard to health and safety protocols if this is happening frequently. I went back to the shop to show them what they had given me and the manager on duty was very apologetic and offered me complimentary treats for the inconvenience. However, there is still further accountability needed and the blatant disregard for the health and trust of customers must stop. Until then, please approach this branch with caution and if possible, avoid.

Disgusting customer service. Serious health violations with selling cakes and pastries that are rotten. Goods left open and full of bugs. Still waiting on a refund after they sold me a rotten bar one cake. It's really not safe to eat here from what I saw upon visiting the branch.

FOURNOS is located inside the Woodmead shopping mall. We enjoyed a tasty all day breakfast here with the waitress being attentive and obliging. No cash payments are done/ only cards are accepted.

Most pathetic service. Food gets cold in the kitchen. Waiter claims they not understaffed yet everything you are waiting for requires you to get up from your table to check and ask before it finally gets served. They sent me the wrong meal and blamed it on the new computer system. When my bill arrived I got charged for the original meal that I ordered (which was more expensive than what I received). At some point I saw someone who appeared to be the manager but not once did she ever come past our table to apologize or check in on us. Extremely disappointed

My first time at this patisserie (Sandton branch); cake was incredible though a bit steep at R60 a slice. However the service was terribly poor. We arrived at 5pm yesterday, seated ourselves, helped ourselves to menus we found laying around then called a waiter to take our order. We were never checked up on or offered two separate plates to share. We were basically invisible until they hurriedly packed up closer to 6pm. We felt so unwelcome.

Normally very good cakes, but they did a particularly poor job for my birthday cake and then never responded when I complained. Totally ignored me or my messages. Had no choice but to use what was delivered and literally had to spruce the cake up ourselves. Extremely disappointing.

The red velvet cupcakes and rainbow cupcakes are my favourite. Very rich and worth the high price. - Belle's isn't perfect though. This place has cancelled every Uber Eats request I have ever made which is dissapointing. I've tried so so many times. One time when I went to the actual shop (I made sure it was the correct Belle's that I made the Uber eats request to) on the same day as a cancelled order, I asked why they didn't want to send me cupcakes and they replied that they had not received any uber eats order that day. The staff is often rude and completely apathetic to everyone entering the shop. On another occasion I ordered a speciality cake for a baby shower and the cake was an absolute flop. The cake was so overpriced for the amount of effort put into the design. The design was quite simple and I wanted a 3d sugar topper that looked like a bow. I received a 2D flat fondant design stuck to the top of the cake. I had made several drawings paired with detailed typed descriptions of exactly what I wanted, I was met with misunderstanding, rude assumptions and lack of interest in what I wanted. Do not get a custom cake from Belle's. Go to Village fair instead or any other bakery for that matter. However their normal cakes are lovely which is the only reason I will give it 3 stars.

Truly disappointing last experience, I was refused service because Fournos has decided to go cashless and was unwilling to accept my money. As one of your customers from the time the first bakery was opened in East Rand Mall, all I could say is that today you have lost a loyal customer forever.

Your trusty source for a lekker breakfast even on holidays. Great selection of bakery. Unfortunate is the choice of music. Pumping night club tracks are disturbing a peaceful meal.

A very pleasant experience and the service from Priscilla was outstanding. Food was delicious and we had to get goodies from the bakery. As always, the French bread sliced was first class. It's always a treat with the baked goods. And then the Gelato took it to another level. It was a taste adventure as we had to roll out the store from being over fed😋 Everyone needs to get a taste of deliciousness. Thanks Priscilla😍

We went for a light brunch and a strong cappuccino. Didn't realise the meal we ordered had basil pesto, and my wife is allergic to nuts. Asked the manager, and he confirmed that there were nuts in the pesto. :( He then proceeded to remake the partially eaten meal without the pesto, even after we said it was okay. One doesn't always get friendly service and people who are so eager to help their customers. The meal was delicious, and the experience was most pleasant. Keep it up guys!

Great atmosphere and great menu. There are plenty of options to choose from with your meals. Service was great and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place for a great meal or even a quick cup of coffee.

What a lovely place to eat. So hungry when you walk in there, with all the delicious pastries, cakes and platters and then you sit down and the menu is top notch. Will definitely be back....👌👌👌

Excellent service, lovely restaurant but the food was terrible. My husband ordered a chicken burger and chips, the chicken fillet was under cooked. The replacement burger as well as an additional take away chicken burger and chips came home with chicken breasts over cooked and the chips under cooked. While we appreciate the good service it was a total waste a of money.

We adore this amazing coffee shop located in the Sandton City Mall, and it has quickly become one of my favorite spots. The café specializes in freshly baked bread, cakes, pastries, and delightful baklava each day. What stands out is the hands-on approach of the owner, who is always present and engaging with customers. Conveniently situated near the banking hall, this coffee shop serves excellent coffee that perfectly complements their delicious offerings. The staff members are friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere, and the comfy couch seating makes it an ideal place to relax. Additionally, there is paid parking available, making access easy for those driving to the mall. Don’t miss out on their fresh Greek sweet treats and breads—they are simply irresistible!

Review of the Bread Basket cafe. Situated in the sandton city mall close to the banking Hall. Overlooking the information desk and shoppers. We enjoyed a flat white cappuccino, delicious baklava, and a trout sandwich. friendly staff and comfy couch seating. Paid parking available. Delicious fresh Greek sweet treats and breads.

I can count on 1hand over my 18years in JHB, the amount of times I use sat down for a meal here, BUT since the revamp am sure this will be a regular stop for me. Also great value for money on meals… however cappuccino a bit pricey watch out (R38 small.)😳

I think its the best place in Sandton City to catch a break from the hustle and bustle of this crazy mall. Just to have a coffee and some delicious pastries. There are so much to choose from in this bakery, they also have a nice menu for breakfasts and lunch. And lots of imported candies, cereals and chocolates.

Lovely decor and a haven of calm from the hustle and bustle of Sandton City. Service lets it down though: drinks arrived quickly but the food took forever, and our waitress was notably slow when it came to something as basic as just getting the bill (when you really want to just get going). I can highly recommend the Tramezzinis (salami, mozzarella, avocado and artichoke for the win - always get my respect with unique flavour combinations), but the fried chips are a let-down (served a bit cold and neither crispy nor soft).

Love the Bread Basket. It's a cute little shop come coffee/ Cafe. The staff and the owner is very friendly and welcoming. The store and Cafe is very clean and open . Love coming here when we shop . They have delicious foods and the coffee is Divine and the croissants are mouth watering. My best is the Cheesecake. So worth the drive . Look forward to coming again .

Burgers were really nice. The pizza was not so bad... Didn't like the fact that it wasn't freshly baked 😕 The pricing is fair but they should definitely work on service!
