The service was very nice and recommended almond croissant, I do not regret, one of the best almond croissants in Perth. The pastry was very chewy and buttery. Will come back for the vanilla eclair, also Hyde park is the perfect location. Long wait on the weekend though.

Chu Bakery is a wildly popular spot, and you'll often find a long queue snaking out the door, but trust me, the food is absolutely worth the wait! My personal favourite is their chicken baguette, which is always fresh and bursting with flavour. And for a sweet treat, you can't go past their Earl Grey dessert – it's a perfect blend of delicate tea notes and just the right amount of sweetness. Plus, their Earl Grey hot chocolate is a fantastic choice if you're looking for something warm and comforting. It's a consistently good experience, and it's easy to see why it's a local favourite and great for a neat picnic with Hyde Park across the road and pre or post yoga workout during season is always a bonus!

Ok I have been working nearby and coming here frequently....way to much haha. The chicken rolls are my fav (however if you have veneers or sore teeth be warned it can be a bit cruchy and dense some days - which i love .x ) and the pastries 🍰 are lovely. Nice fresh and made on site. I will say if you come here on a weekend expect to wait if at peak times as it is a small intimate venue.

-Raspberry Almond Croissant (AUD 9.50) Superb! Made with fresh raspberries (not jam), and generously filled with real fruit. The croissant itself was buttery, crisp, and perfectly baked. A delightful balance of tartness and sweetness. -Mushroom Bechamel Toastie (AUD 9.80) Fragrant and rich in flavor, packed with plenty of mushrooms. The bechamel was creamy and well-seasoned. Best enjoyed fresh, as it can get a little chewy if it sits too long. -Caramel Latte (AUD 5.80) Standard, smooth and balanced, though nothing particularly distinctive. -Lemongrass Ginger Tea (AUD 4.80) Standard, light, refreshing, and clean on the palate, but fairly simple in taste. P.s.: -Enjoy Chu items while relaxing by walking across to Hyde Park. -Tip: Come early, many items were already sold out by 3 PM!

Chu Bakery staff are so relentlessly friendly. Seriously, the variety of yummy, delicious pastries they offer is just unfair. But the real monthly life choice is their special, it’s always dangerously good and deserves its own pedestal. Pair that with their truly spectacular coffee, and you have a dangerous, yet perfect, combination. My wallet weeps, but my taste buds cheer. 10/10, bring stretchy pants.

The place is very popular, it has great food options and the coffee is excellent. Everything is high quality and flavorful. It doesn't have tables and chairs; orders are for takeout only. But that's not a problem because Hyde Park is right across the street, another wonderful place you can go for a meal. You'll probably really enjoy buying a cappuccino and croissant, sitting on a bench in Hyde Park, and enjoying the moment.

Definitely one the best bakery in Perth. Always a queue for coffees and pastries sold out before closing time. They always have something on special days. This time we tried them on father’s day and glad we did!

We found ourselves at Miller + Baker on a busy morning and had to wait in line to get in — always a good sign when people are willing to queue. The café sits in a great spot, but seating is limited: a handful of tables outside and only a few inside, which makes it feel quite tight. The vibe though is buzzing and energetic, definitely adds to the experience. Service was decent, nothing over the top but smooth enough to keep things moving. What we tried: • Rainbow Sandwich – decent, but the focaccia got chewy pretty quickly and overall lacked flavour. 3/5 • Orange & Fennel Bun – again, decent, but nothing that really stood out. 3/5 • Iced Latte – slightly off balance, leaning a bit too bitter. 3/5 • Iced Mocha – fell flat with no sweetness to lift it. 2.5/5 Overall, I’d say Miller + Baker is worth a visit for the energy and atmosphere, but the food and coffee didn’t wow me this time. 3/5

Such a gorgeous community cafe/bakery, I was so impressed with the fact they mill the flour from scratch. The most delicious, fresh pastries and coffee accompanied with the loveliest staff who make you feel so welcome in Perth! I especially loved their signature cardamon bun!

I would say Miller + Baker is one of our perth trip highlights. Woke up early to try this well praised cafe in the cbd and our 30 min walk was so well worth it! Freshly milled flour hits different 👏 I had the poached chicken sandwich (8/10) while my husband had the egg + bacon (11/10). Also bought their choc chip cookie, pistachio rubharb, and pain au chocolat for some munchies during our ferry ride to rottnest. They also have an in house store selling local produce. If only I had the time to try everything 🥲 Definitely going back here 💜

When you’re feeling under the weather, everything can seem a bit off, but the croissant from this bakery is truly a life-saver. Its crispness, delicate flavor, and buttery goodness bring me back to life. Ordering is quick and easy, especially in the early morning when they open up bright and early. I love watching the fresh pastries come out of the oven, filling the air with their irresistible aroma. I can’t wait to try their bread pudding next! 🤫

We did tried sourdough @ Wildfower. It's very excellent. Thus, we came here for takeaway. There were traditional croissants ($6.5) left and Focaccia ($7) . No much left before 1pm. The Croissant was flaky and crispy outside and airy inside. Come here earlier next time.

We are on holidays from the Uk visiting my daughter . We were recommended by one of her friends to come for a coffee . When we saw the cakes we couldn’t resist them and we had carrot cake . I returned and tried the Portuguese tart a few days later . They were delicious . I also bought some chocolate granola that I enjoyed daily travelling around the south west on my morning fruit . Definitely a lovely bakery that I will remember for a long time . Staff were very helpful . Looking forward to the sandwich I bought for the airport later

Going to North Street Store has quickly become a weekend ritual. The contis are hands down the best in Perth. Fresh, packed with flavour, and always spot on. Their specials are also awesome, constantly changing and always delicious. Couldn’t recommend it more!

We got the Iced latte, Cappuccino, Cinnamon Scroll 😍 My mum from korea she absolutely loved it! Amazing customer service and friendly staffs and a lot of options to choose from! I will def be back in future 💚

The most overhyped cinnamon scroll I’ve eaten in Perth. Tasted like a bread roll with a sprinkling of cinnamon. Barely sweet. Young girl that served me looks like she hates her life/job - she shouldn’t be in customer service. No seating anywhere. Have to eat on the street or the car like a hobo.

Best coffee, and best burger I had around perth, with fresh hand cut potatoes 🥔 . It should be voted perth best burger and fries 🍟🍔 😋

I got the plain croissant which was huge and not bad! It was buttery and light but would have been even nicer if I heated it up. I also got the strawberry lemonade which was a lil too sweet for my taste but still great (i would prefer a tad bit more lime juice)! Service was great and they offer a mch larger selection than what i choose. Definitely be bk to try more Update: Came back to try the sausage egg muffin and unfortunately it wasnt really great. the egg was burnt, the sausage patty lacked seasoning and just quite greasy. Not sure if that was the muffin but it seemed like just a regular roll. I still like their other bakes but this was thoroughly disappointing.

Mary Street Bakery is definitely a popular spot among the locals, and it's easy to see why! Every time we've been, the food is consistently good, with a great range of tasty options. Great spot very easy to recommend and the food was good! Easily catered for the group of 8 that I went with and the service was at a good pace! They even offer batch brew from offshoot so you know they take coffee seriously!

Extremely busy place, plenty of wait staff and very efficient. Ordered the scrambled eggs on toast (didn’t like the taste of the toast and only ate couple of bits - had an unusual taste), good crispy bacon and hash browns- these are home made with a spicy sauce. Great coffee.

Sunday afternoon brunch all day breakfast on point! Had a combo scrambled eggs with avocado and chorizo … scrambled eggs top class and good side serve of the avo and chorizo. Winner was the fried chicken butter milk pancakes with maple syrup and peanuts… decadence! Coffee ok.

No Lactose free milk A long time since I've been here and things have changed and not for the better..... It's great that they do table service and the small cake I had was yummy. I also had a coffee as needed a fix however for those that can't have lactose and can't stand the other so called milk substitutes, unfortunately you are out of luck as they are one of the VERY FEW cafes that don't DONT DO lactose free milk. Other disappointment was a guy working there was extremely loud. Good service and attentive but just needs to tone the volume a little. Other disappointment was for those people that pay only cash and don't use debit or credit cards, we'll don't even bother going in as they " do not accept cash" I can understand if we in WA had covid but we don't. I had to use a credit card of mine that has expired as I don't use it. I was surprised it worked unless it gets rerurned/ rejected after I left.. Very disappointing visit. Sadly, this place was one of the worst spots for food & coffee :( Ordered a soft boiled egg dish that consisted of few piece of bread cut out in strips & 2 boiled eggs still in shells lol Then a $28 of an omelette but with an additional pieces of chorizo that were rock hard & rubbery. Most of all, the coffee. It was shocking :( It looked like our coffee was just sitting at the food / coffee pass for a while. It tasted horrible.

Coffees on your day off always taste better for some reason. Capp and almond croissant were on point. Keen to come back again!

The almond croissant was one of the, if not the best almond croissant I have ever eaten. Now that’s a big claim which I don’t make lightly. Coffee was great but I feel 95% of coffee in Perth is. The takeaway cups had cool patterns so that’s a plus.

So delicious! The pastries were fresh, packed with flavor, and just the right amount of sweetness. My favorite was the bee sting—usually not a pastry you’d rave about, but this one was something special! The salted caramel chocolate tart was a total winner too. We chowed down in the car, and when the bearded staff guy walked by, his nod confirmed what we already knew: those pastries were absolute perfection! Can't wait to get back and try some more!

Amazing bakery for a quick breakie on the way to the beach. Surprisingly there were quite a few spots to sit outside. We enjoyed the ham & cheese croissant, hazelnut chocolate croissant and the brownie. Breads looked awesome too. Coffee was only OK but nice to have the option on site to enjoy on the spot with the pastries. Sandwiches, quiche, sausage rolls and all the other pastries all looked proper. Would definitely come back to try more.

Ordered catering for 40 farmers through Wild Bakery and it was amazing, everyone loved it! The service was great picking it all up the day before, everything was organised and ready to go packed on crates for easy transport. Would definitely order again.

Posting this review after visiting the place around 4 times. Discovered this quaint little bakery around 6 months back while looking for a breakfast place in Fremantle. I pride myself on spotting great bakeries, and this was no exception. They have a wide selection of breads, savoury baked goods and desserts. They also have some great selection of thin crust pizzas slices. To complement that, they boast a great coffee menu and some decent lemonades and kombuchas. Let’s get into it in detail. It’s not a huge bakery, so the seating is extremely limited, and it can get difficult to eat here if it’s a sunny day, but it’s bakery food, so we made it work. The ambience is a decent 3.5/5 Now the food. Below are the things we have tried so far: 1. Almond Croissant: Rich, buttery, flaky and delicious. 4.5/5 2. Pain au chocolates: Flaky with a some smooth dark chocolate. Could be a little more fresh though. 4/5 3. Orange cake: Super moist to the last bite. Loved it 5/5 4. Margarita slice: Crust was nice and thin. Not as well done as I like and a bit chewy since it stays in the display and is reheated. Also, a bit on the oily side. Since I am a pizza fanatic, I will rate this a 3/5 5. Fruit pie: Good. Nothing spectacular, but gets the job done. 4/5 6: Coffee: Good 4/5 We have also tried their while wheat bread loaf. It’s quite good. 4/5 All in all, it’s a solid 4/5 for their food. Try their croissants and baked stuff. Pizzas are a bit of a let down. The service was also decent. Nothing standout but nothing to complain about. :) 4/5

Had the pork and fennel roll which I thought tasted really nice, was still quite warm once we got a seat. The roll itself wasn't overcooked or burnt and to my surprise there was cheese mixed in with the meat which added great flavour. There isn't much shade outside so if you do go on a warm day like we did and want to sit outside, stay sun safe.

Sooooo good!! In my mind - this IS a bakery. Breads that are so far removed from the big supermarket fare - simple, healthy and tasty, if you’re after classic sour-dough bread and correctly made croissants etc, this is your destination. Added to this great coffee, great (brilliant) service and a terrific atmosphere the Wild Bakery stores are on point in all aspects…. Highly recommend

I have never had a chiffon cake as light and fluffy as I have had at Teeter (don't tell my mum as her Pandan chiffon was amazing!) Anyways, Teeter is a cosy space in Claisebrook, had lovely staff who loved that I bought my own massive container for the treats. Basque was tasty, and the quiche would be the best I have ever had. Can not recommend this place enough!!! Don't ever change! #life_is _sugary

After hearing so much about Teeter Bakery, I finally had the chance to visit and it was absolutely worth the wait! Located in the corner of Claisebrook, the area might feel a little rough around the edges, but the pastries here are exceptional. I visited at the very end of spring, and with the Jacaranda trees in full bloom, the view outside the shop was absolutely gorgeous. Choosing just one pastry was a real challenge because everything looked irresistible. I ended up trying their savory scroll, which was packed with cheese and incredibly flaky, every bite was so satisfying. I also had their Kouign-Amann, and it was flawless : perfectly laminated with a caramelized top and a sprinkle of flaky salt to balance the sweetness. Such a delightful experience! I’ll definitely be back to try their cakes and explore more of their selection. Highly recommend for pastry lovers :)

Perth’s best bakery, for me the croissant is absolutely delicious; I haven’t tried anything much, but I’m definitely going back!! Love how homey and cosy they are. This is a must for those who haven’t tried it yet. I recommend getting there quite early; otherwise, you're going to get nothing home because they run out quite fast.

I really wanted to like this place — I’ve had a few good pastries here before — but my recent experience was honestly pretty disappointing. I ordered a small hot chocolate for $6 and was told it would take 5–10 minutes to make, which surprised me since it was 12:30 PM and I was the only customer in the store. The two staff members seemed unsure of what they were doing and honestly came across awkward and unprepared, which immediately made me feel a bit uncomfortable and confused. After waiting 14 minutes (again, with no other customers in sight), one of the staff finally brought out my drink… but managed to spill it on himself and the floor. He said “ow” very childishly and walked back inside without saying anything else. At that point, I assumed he was going to remake it — but after 5 minutes, he returned with the same cup, now with a thick layer of cocoa powder dumped on top, and said, “my bad” as he placed it on my table. It genuinely felt like I was being served by a toddler. The presentation was messy, and the whole interaction felt careless. To top it off, the hot chocolate had a really strange taste — almost like Kalamata olives — definitely wasn’t worth the $6 I paid. It’s a real shame, because the pastries here can be nice. Hopefully this was just a one-off, but it left a bad impression. Photo shows exactly what the hot chocolate looked like when it was brought out to me. Super comical to be worth $6.

The bergamot and brown sugar financier was incredible - possibly the best financier I’ve ever had. The peach chiffon cake is a great option if you like to steer clear of extremely sweet cakes. I will be returning asap to try some of their pastries and hopefully another financier.

Didn't want to cook on public holiday so ordered the mixed 6-pack for early morning pick-up yesterday. Added sausage roll and savoury tart at bakery. All gone just after lunch 😋. Went this morning just after 10.30am and only a few items left ☹️. PS. Got there earlier last Sat for the fig danish, plum tart and mango rice pudding.

Have only been here a couple of times. Discovered this bakery on my way to work early morning. And have only tried two products from here thus far, a sausage roll, Jalapeńo pepper sausage roll! The normal sausage roll was a great sausage roll, but the jalapeno sausage roll was sooooooooo delicious! And the inspiration for my return visit, and many more to come no doubt! All the food here looks delicious, the sweet pastries look amazing too! I'm sure I'll be able to give a more comprehensive review in time to come. But do yourself a favour and try the Jalapeno sausage roll, amazing flavour, and great texture because of as well! A must have!!!!

Grain Bakery’s in Shenton Park is just as good as their original in Lathlain. The modern ambiance creates a perfect setting to enjoy their excellent selection of breads, sandwiches, turkish bread, and pies. The croissants are great, with buttery flavor that stands out. Their delicate cakes are also a treat, and the coffee is spot on. Whether you’re after a quick bite or a relaxing coffee break, this bakery has something for everyone. Definitely worth a visit!

Love this bakery, been coming here for almost 2 years. The coffee has always been nice but has got better the last 6 months I’d say. Cappuccino is very frothy and delicious (not just a latte with chocolate powder on top like some coffee shops do it). Service has always been great for me.

Grain bakery do a fabulous seeded sourdough bread but what sets this bread apart from some others is it’s like the traditional square loaf ( perfect for lunchboxes) and seeded crust, so kids will eat crust also. This is our families favourite . They also have recently trialled for next few months , the square jalapeño cheese sourdough, also such a treat. Great fresh or toasted. Highly recommend. They have several different breads including pumpkin which we have tried, would love to try others. They also do beautiful and delicious desserts some photos included.

Egg sandwich is very yum on the freshest white bread. Continental sandwich on multigrain was average and a bit soggy by the time I bought it at midday. Crème brûlée donut wasn’t really my style but might try a more plain flavour next time.

Great food, above average coffee, good service. Having been to both locations, I can safely say the service is identical. All these complaints about service are unwarranted and I think only exist because people in the Western Suburbs are far more entitled and feel like service people have to kiss the floor they walk on. It's honestly fine and I've never had a negative experience here

It's a pity the previous place had to close, BUT Grain Bakery in Shenton Park is the bomb. Yummy pastries, especially the jalapeno croissant and a extremely good coffee.if u work at Charlie's or the surrounds. It's a lovely spot for a quick bite and a visit.

Excellent bakery, fresh and tasty. Service is quick and friendly, coffee is good too. I loved the cherry danish! Custard products are also all top tier. They prefer cash, so pay them with it! Only criticism is that a baby cino for $3.50 is a ripoff. Other than that, the pastries are fantastic.

A delicious selection of perfectly baked pastries. Took my 6 year old and he made some excellent choices for elevenses with his Papa. Plan to head back to try some of the savoury options and give the coffee a whirl. Stand out favourite for us was the lemon meringue. Be sure to treat yourself if you are in the area. It was busy on a Saturday morning but the queue moved quickly.

* Hazelnut ?? Not sure about the name - 1/5. The hazelnut flavour is too weak and light—it kinda tastes like rice pudding. Most importantly: chocolate and hazelnut are the perfect match! Hazelnut cream without chocolate is just a waste for me. *Pistachio Éclair - 2/5. The pistachio flavour isn’t strong at all —it tastes more like green custard. The shell is too soft. * Mini Pistachio Croissant. - 3/5. The croissant layers are excellent—very flaky. The pistachio cream is the same as in the éclair, and it’s still pretty bland. It seems like their croissants are the real strength here."

At first, I was quite skeptical as it’s been more than 5 years since I last saw a rating over 4.5, let alone 4.7! However, I was completely convinced and satisfied with how the taste can go so far at such an amazing cafe. They deserve 5 stars! The quality of the Japanese and French techniques with their pastries are brilliant! I can’t wait to go back and try more of their recipes. I’m so impressed with the taste that it’s almost as if we aren’t allowed to eat it. I ordered a cappuccino, a matcha latte and a salted caramel banana danish. The cappuccino would be a 8.5, very yum! And the matcha latte is sadly not grounded with pure matcha powder as the colour is a darker green but it was still very delicious and mixed fantastically! That would be a 8.5 as well. The star of the show would be the danish. Absolute carnage on how delicious it is. It’s not just normal fresh cream on top, but they go the extra mile to create a new flavour and welcome the blend with the salted caramel and bananas! Consequently, they are able to give decent prices to the working class whilst elevating Michelin quality works! The little cupcakes that are delivered with the coffees are the BEST cupcakes I’ve EVER tasted! They were so moist and soft and a perfect amount of sweetness! Thank you so much and see you soon!!

Incredibly popular bakery judging by the queues early Sunday morning but possibly overhyped. The $6 plain croissant was nothing special although the long macciato was good and the accompanying wee cake a nice touch. Contents of the display cases are gorgeous to look at while waiting in line but based on the croissant I'm not sure they would taste as good as they look. Perhaps the patisserie and baguettes are better?

Overrated cinnamon scrolls. Cinnamon scrolls were actually too sweet for me. They didn’t warm up so the icing on the top was cold and still hard. Also tested like margarine not butter. Cappuccino was watery not milky. Just gave a try and it is enough. 10 percent surcharge for the weekend.

We knew the cinnamon scrolls would sell out quickly, so we placed an order for them, along with other items, before our visit. Overall, everything was delicious 😋 and we enjoyed every single bite. Very disappointing experience. I came all the way from Sydney, excited to try this place, only to find out they were only serving coffee and leftover stale pastries that day. I was really looking forward to their cinnamon scroll after hearing great things, but they didn’t have any. Instead, the staff offered me a version topped with cookie dough, saying it was the same base as their usual cinnamon scroll. Unfortunately, it was overly sweet, the cookie was dry, and the scroll itself was stale—not freshly baked or warmed up. I do appreciate the creativity behind the concept, especially with the recent trend of cookie hybrids (cookie in a croissant, cookie in a brownie, etc.), but the execution here didn’t work. The only redeeming part of the visit was the coffee, which was actually quite good.

Sugar & Nice: A Sweet Local Gem! Sugar & Nice is an absolute delight and truly a local neighborhood gem! The coffee is great, but what really sets this place apart are the excellent baked goods and the wonderfully friendly, warm staff. My absolute favorites are the plain croissant, the irresistible cinnamon scrolls, and their amazing portokalopita. And for something savory, the ham and cheese croissant with béchamel is simply divine. Don't forget to try their kouign-amann too! Sugar & Nice is a must-visit for anyone in the area. Great to sit outdoors or indoors.

How freaking cute is this shop. The staff are very welcoming and the decor is cheerful and whimsical. I came from freo to get my hands on the ever popular cinny scrolls and they did not disappoint. Also had to get a couple of the best ever choc chip cookies I've ever had the pleasure to enjoy. Definitely a must stop for a nice sweet treat.

I stopped in at sugar and nice to have a brunchy snack. The staff here are always super lovely, engaging patrons with just enough warmth to make the place inviting and pleasant. The Croque Monsieur I ordered was promptly brought to my table and was perfect in its composition of flavours and texture. The cheese was perfectly melty, the ham perfectly hammy. Chocolate undertones with a lingering, almost effervescent sparkle in the finish. Observations: A benchmark-level piccolo for balance and clarity. Compared to home brews, it leans richer and more syrupy, with the milk integration amplifying sweetness without muting the coffee’s liveliness. Excellent reference point for future espresso texture calibration.

Came here for the baked goods, always opting for their tarts! This place is becoming my go to cafe for solid pastries. Was able to do some solo reading time. Wished they opened later! Appreciated the fans to keep the flies away. Service could also be a bit friendlier, some of the workers don’t seem like they want to be there - we all have rough days!

Wholemeal Sourdough Bread from Maylands I recently tried the wholemeal sourdough bread from Maylands and was impressed by the quality of the ingredients and the overall flavour. It’s a hearty, wholesome loaf with a pleasant texture—clearly made with care. However, there’s one significant drawback. The dough is only left to ferment for a maximum of 8 hours, which is quite short for traditional sourdough. Proper fermentation usually requires at least 24 hours to fully break down gluten and other components. Without this extended process, the bread may continue fermenting in the intestines after consumption, leading to bloating and digestive discomfort. If Maylands extended the fermentation time to 24 hours, this bread could go from good to excellent—not just in taste, but in digestibility.

The beef goulash pie was quite good although at $9 it's a bit pricey and I couldn't detect much in the way of paprika action happening. Still, it had chunks of tender beef and not the gristly slop you get in some bakery pies.

Service was terrible. The girl didn’t make any eye contact and seemed like she hated being there. We said we wanted a sausage roll as there was only 3 pork, apple and fennel ones left. She said “yep, a beef sausage roll” which there were none left so I told her. The sausage roll was super dry and gross. Sat on a table outside that has dirty dishes pushed to one side and no cutlery. Not impressed and won’t be back.

The sourdough bread here is absolutely amazing. I don't think I've eaten so much bread in such a short period of time. I have used it to make sandwiches and thick toasts and it pairs really well with either! I also tried the salted caramel pistachio tart which was also beautifully done. Would recommend everyone to try their breads - I promise you'll love it!

Great little spot. This was the 3rd bakery I hit today as my Perth bakery crawl. Morning Bun: cheese, butter, and something else on a sesame bun. I could have eaten another one for lunch. Get it if you come here. Honey Cruller: good solid cruller. If you're a cruller person...pick from the options. There were also coffee and cinnamon options. Chocolate Chip Cookie: pick up two of these next time you're in. You will regret just getting one. These little doughs of heavenly goodness. Butter Croissant: this was good but I imagine it lost some of the magic as I ate it the next day while 30K feet in the air. Definitely need to stop by here if you're looking for a great bakery in the city.

The pastries were quite dry and skimpy on filling.The cruller was decent, but not enough to save the experience. Service was terrible and indifferent; the staff(the girl wear dark green jumper) barely engaged with most customers, though one man got noticeably friendlier treatment. Wouldn’t recommend.

Decent coffee, amazing pastries. My wife absolutely loved their Vegemite rolls. They don't have them right now but hopefully they will be back quick. I am a big fan of their rye malted cookie. I try to stay away from sugar but if I am going to treat myself, it is my go to. Their chocolate croissants are really tasty as well. Light and fluffy just like they should be.

Delicious hidden bakery in Subi! Possibly one of the best chocolate croissants I've ever had- so flaky, light and flavoursome 🥐 we also had their eggplant curry pie which was honestly incredible. Rich, deep flavours and a pie top with so many pastry layers!! Can't wait to be back and try more goodies, 10000% recommend a visit here!!

I really enjoy their pastry selection. I tried the parmesan scroll and custard apple crumble, both were delicious and perfectly suited to my taste. I also had a small cappuccino, but personally, I found the coffee a bit too weak for my liking. Overall, definitely worth a visit!

Finally got to Goods Bakery. Picking up some bread for our trip down to Margaret River. Oh, and who can resist an almond croissant? It. Was. Delicious!!!!

If I could add another star, I would. I am going regularly and this constantly delivers. Great coffee and probably one of the best bakeries in Perth. Great option in the morning to grab a Brekky bun or outstanding ham and cheese croissant!

This is my pick of local bakeries in the area - everything has so much flavour and is beautifully made - the sausage rolls, pies, pastries and cakes. Their weekly and seasonal specials give me a great excuse to return. My ultimate indulgence is the seasonal Basque Truffle Cheesecake which happens to always fall around the time of my birthday.

Been coming here regularly. The chicken curry pie never disappoints and is bang on delicious. Tried the weekend special chicken satay pie which was great as well. Lovely bakery and our favourite pie fix! Keep doing what you do Butter Crumbs 💛

Came here after hearing such good things on the internet and the reviews here but it’s clear that some people are too lenient or haven’t actually tried a decent dessert. As a sweet tooth myself I couldn’t help but be excited to try this place especially the chocolate peanut slice, boy was I disappointed. The cake itself was dry and when I say dry I mean dry as cake that has been sitting outside in the heat. The only savour of this cake was the peanuts which frankly speaking contribute a small portion of the cake itself. As much as I love to support small businesses, I would not be visiting this shop again for cake.

Phenomenal pastry! I walked in to pick up an array of desserts for a family birthday and walked away with $90 of beautiful little cakes that were throughly enjoyed. Every single one was phenomenally put together. While waiting for my order to be packed up I sat by their window seating and enjoyed one of the best mushroom pies I’ve had in Perth. Honestly words cannot describe the buttery, flaky, creamy goodness this delight was.

I ordered a beef sausage roll from this place. Albeit I’m not a huge fan of pastries, one bite of this changed my whole perspective. The crispy exterior juxtaposed with the warm, tender interior created an explosion of flavour in my mouth. And all of this came at an outstanding price. This place will forever be on my list of go-to’s when someone asks me where to eat. I doubt I’ll ever find another spot that lives up to the expectations you’ve now set!

Hankering for a snack? Get the sausage roll. Wanting something meatier? Two words, rending pie. Need a birthday cake? The Sprinkle Cake never misses. Trying to impress someone (or yourself)? The Basque cheesecake is it. Butter Crumbs just gets it right, every time. Whether it's a flaky savoury bite or a showstopper dessert, this place is my go-to for all things delicious.

My friend loves Sherbet and has been telling me for years stories of chocolate eclairs and red velvet cake. Today I tried an Eclair while the super sweet mild milk chocolate topper isn't a favourite of mine it was a lovely eclair. The vanilla slice however was dreamy , the snap of pastry that was also soft and buttery and perfectly chewy. The icing was on point and the custard delicious. Worth the detour 😄 and standing in the line that started out the door 🚪

Sherbet is a beautiful vintage style cafe that feels like back in time into a vintage retro diner. The cafe has a blue and white striped front facade and has lots of seating. The cafe has a variety of food available from quiches salads sandwiches through to cupcakes eclairs and tarts and so much more. We love visiting this cafe

Sherbet is an absolute gem of a place! Located across from the train station in Maylands, it serves - quite honestly - the best breakfasts and cakes in Perth! I love the vintage decor (imagine a 50s style diner) - it’s so cosy to curl up in a booth with a pot of tea and a slice of the amazing chocolate banana bread. I also highly recommend the red velvet cake, Turkish orange cake, vanilla slice and the avocado bruschetta is delicious! The staff are always so friendly and welcoming, I genuinely haven’t experienced service like that anywhere else in Perth. And the owner Matt is so lovely, you can tell from talking to him (he does the rounds greeting diners) that he is super focused on good old fashioned customer service and making sure that everyone has a positive experience. I’ve tried many other cafes but none come close to Sherbet, I’d recommend it in a heartbeat! Best cafe in Perth, hands down!

What a great little gem tucked away and deceiving in size inside. Food was great and considering they were flat out busy you would never of noticed based in service. Food was out really fast. Great service and food. Only shame was food/cakes etc were getting packed away over an hour before closing. So didn’t grab a takeaway.

Looks like Herbert Café has new owners! The vibe’s a little different — front counter staff not quite as bubbly as before — but the coffee is still next-level amazing! ☕️ The cakes look delicious (a little tweak in presentation would make them pop even more). Still one of my favourite spots — I’ll definitely be back for that incredible coffee! 🙌🍰

My Local spot ( BagelO's) wasn't open so decided to get some bagels from this spot. Ive had it on my radar for a while but opportunity wasn't there until today. The bagels cost me $ 8.80 for 8 pc. So that's quite cheap but now I am not sure if that is the correct price or did i pay for yesterdays bagels? These were not fresh or made today - that is/was obvious. They are also thinner then the other place and not cooked enough. (boiled - whatever) Or at least not enough for my liking. Overall very disappointed with quality of the product. And I am not interested to visit again to verify if they are better when fresh or made on the day. Maybe they are made daily, and if that's the case then , there is an issue there. This place hasn't been updated for a while now... at least last century at some stage judging by the way it looks and I don't think there is a plan to glow it up any time soon, judging by the amount of produce being offered. The guy at the counter was really chill and friendly. It was the best thing about this place so don't understand why others are mentioning the service. Or lack of.

The inside of the bakery has phenomenal fragrance!!! The blueberry bagel 🫐 🥯 was the absolute favourite! The other bagels that were great too are: onion, poppy, rye!

I popped in here the other day, had the ham and cheese croissant and the meat pie, as well as a flat white. The croissant was nice, the meat pie was pretty empty, not really a meat pie and not very filling. Coffee itself was good, first few sips I didnt like the blend at all, but it grew on me. Girl on the counter was nice, guy bringing out the coffee was not too pleasant, bit abrupt. They bought out the wrong order to our table but eventually sorted it out. Overall pricey but not too bad.

First experience review: We were starved when we decided to visit Croff (and it was on our list for a while now), but unfortunately, it was a bit disappointing. Let’s start with the ambience. The bakehouse is located in one of ‘the most prime’ locations in Perth, and we passed over a few bustling places to eat here, but the vibe inside (like the outside on that day) was pretty cold. Just one person sitting with a coffee and my immediate impulse was to find something else. Ambience 2/5 We resisted, however, and ordered two drinks and an everything bagel. 1. Earl grey latte: Tasted fine but was cold from the get go. It didn’t feel like a hot drink at all, and I was hoping for something warm and comforting since it was a cold day. 2/5 2. Purple potato latte: Tasteless. Looked great but tasted of just milk. 1/5 3. Everything bagel: It was not your conventional dense, chewy bagel but it was alright. Light and the everything mix was decent. I got 2. 3.5/5 Overall a bit of a let down. The service was fine. No complaints 3.5/5 Overall 2.5/5 at best.

We really enjoyed the four cheese croissant. The strawberry matcha in a can is a fun and convenient takeaway option. The miso pork belly danish had great flavor, but the meat was a bit too fatty for our taste.

I feel bad about this low review as I love supporting local businesses. We ordered two coffees - I had to leave mine as I couldn’t drink it, and an almond croissant which was not how I like my croissants (I like buttery, flaky and not hard).

First time visiting Croff Bakehouse, tried the chocolate croissant, almond chocolate croissant and the 4 cheeses croissant. A bit disappointed with the chocolate croissant just have a tiny bit of chocolate on the bottom.

I think I just found the best croissants in Perth! Today I had the berry & pistachio and in was so delicious! Crisp, flakey and oozing with deliciousness! Great coffee too 🩷 it’s so good to find decent coffee in the city. Will definitely be a regular 😀

I visited here for breakfast on Sunday morning. It’s already full and hard to get table. Luckily we got one. Pastry and breakfast was good but coffee is a bit weak. I ordered small flat white but tasty only hint of espresso… I hope coffee will be good.

I recently celebrated a significant birthday, and Maison Saint Honore went above and beyond to create a truly beautiful event. The food was exquisite, the venue was perfect, and the atmosphere captured the genuine French flavour I’d hoped for—both in cuisine and ambiance. With space to comfortably host my crowd of 60, it was the ideal setting for an unforgettable party. The staff were simply wonderful—attentive, gracious, and full of warmth. It was a birthday I’ll always remember, and I’ve received so many messages from friends saying it was a fantastic party.

Butter is the King here! Awesome this place close to the city and the train station. Pan au chocolate, Swiss chocolate and egg & bacon were very close to the Paris taste. They also have crepes, panini and macarons. The only downside is that the place has a strong smell of cooking, and after having breakfast your clothes end up smelling like it too.

The food here is absolutely incredible, every dish was a masterpiece of flavor. The staff were also wonderful so friendly and attentive, they truly made us feel at home. Plus, the location is a major bonus, just a quick walk from the train station. I'll definitely be back soon!😊

Really nice Sunday morning breakfast. We went about 10.30am and wasn't too busy, didn't need to book. The coffee was pretty good, 7/10 for me but the food was outstanding! 10/10. We shared the croque madame, which was epic. So tasty and big portion. I also had the French big breakfast which was perfect and probably one of the healthiest big Breakfasts I've ever had. Well done Maison Saint-honore! Brilliant breakfast, Merci beaucoup!

I really enjoyed the atmosphere, especially the high ceilings and natural light in the industrial setting. The savory crepe with beef brisket was definitely worth trying. We also tried the macarons and pistachio cake, accompanied by a long macchiato and flat white. Overall, it was a great experience and a good way to spend some time.

Won over by the display in the window. First time visitors. You grab a tray, a pair of tongs and try to figure out what’s what in the cabinet (some items are easy to identify, others are a little more exotic). It was a particularly hot day, with lots of other people waiting around/behind/next to me and bakers also waiting to fill the shelves. A little claustrophobic. However, we were served promptly and checked out with about 5 sweet pastries costing $20, which the family commented were fresh and delish.

Lovely bakery treats at Breadtop! Tried a few pastries here — flaky, fresh, and not overly sweet. Just the way I like it. Everything was well-balanced, with soft textures and light cream. Perfect for a snack without the sugar overload. Definitely coming back for more! 🥐🍓

I am very disappointed with the crepe mango cake I bought today. They didn’t have a full crepe cake, so I bought 9 slices, and the staff helped to wrap it with a ribbon. It turned out the cake was frozen, it was still very hard when we ate it. The mango pieces are still FROZEN. Imagine thawed cream and half frozen mango in a cake, that cost $68.4. Huge disappointment, nearly ruined my birthday

Stopped by Breadtop for a quick snack and ended up leaving with a small bag full of pastries. The BBQ pork bun was warm and soft with just the right savoury-sweet balance, and the custard tarts were buttery with a crisp shell. It’s self-serve, so you grab a tray and help yourself — everything’s freshly baked and neatly displayed. Staff at the counter were polite and efficient, even during the lunchtime rush. A good option if you’re craving something quick and comforting on the go.

I love visiting here. There is a variety of items to choose from. The young girl always smiles and greets nicely and that makes me happy there. Wish they were a bit cheaper so I can buy more.:p They open early and they sell coffee too. It’s a good spot to pop in for the tourists for breakfast/lunch/snacks as well I guess!:)

Nice and clean, it’s a great Bread shop. Grab some bread for your morning. Counter is always busy, she also takes order over the phone while checking out. If someone can help would be better. And the location in a lively area, so no parking spaces here.. only some spaces for 5 minutes stay.

My mate recommend me this place, haha to say very impress. Love their American donut, though the $4/ea was steep. Was it nice? Yes, so moist and dense and yet so hood melt in your mouth. I do like the cinnamon scrolls. For once something healthy does taste good.

This bakery is an absolute lifesaver for us! The allergy free combination means my daughter gets to buy food here that almost nobody else makes! We absolutely love Strange Grains and would recommend it to any wheat or other allergen sufferer.

Food was delicious- we tried cupcakes, scones, eclairs and bought bread for lunches. Just needed a small butter packet serve to make the pumpkin scone Divine!! I would definitely pay extra for that! Hope the owners consider supplying, as we head to the park for picnic.

This place is an unfortunate letdown. There is absolutely no service, the staff are cold, unhelpful, and seem like they couldn’t care less about the customers. The pre-made rolls are bland and forgettable, which is unacceptable for the price. The only redeeming quality was the gluten-free bread itself, which was great. That said, the overall experience was terrible. Frankly, the entire staff needs to be properly trained, because as it stands, this place is running on autopilot with zero regard for customer service.

Super disappointing 😩 We spent $100 in store and it was extremely average to straight up bad. Custard Eclair & Fruit tart - the “custard” was green and tasted awful, holmsey bakery does delicious vegan custard so it’s doable and I have no idea why these were so bad but they both were. Hummingbird cake - dry and overpoweringly sweet icing. Ate about 1/4 and wasn’t worth finishing it. Lamington - ridiculously stale. Took 2 small bites and ditched it. Donut - these were okay. Taste was good but extremely oily. Cherry ripe - this was legitimately enjoyable. Donuts were $4 and the other desserts were all $6ish so we wasted a lot of money on them. GF Peri Peri Pizza - upwards of $25 which was obscene. basically inedible. Ate 2 slices each person and then binned the rest. I don’t know if it was the sauce or the vegan cheese but something was so watery that the whole middle of the pizza was a wet slop but the outsides were almost burnt from trying to cook it longer. Overly spicy for a premade pizza. If it’s got chicken, why use vegan cheese 🤷‍♀️ Salad baguette - okay, nothing to write home about but wasn’t bad. Gluten free loaf - extremely expensive. Tasted good. Overall a super disappointing experience and I definitely won’t be going back.

We stumbled upon this hidden gem and ordered the raspberry crumbs and an almond flat white — and wow, they absolutely blew us away! While many cafés tend to burn their coffee on busy weekends, this place nailed it to perfection. The raspberry crumbs were unlike anything I’ve had in Perth: dense, beautifully layered, and bursting with wholesome goodness. We left with happy hearts and have already pinned this spot for many more visits to come!

As someone who doesn't have a sweet tooth, I'm always excited to come across a bakery that has savoury treats that don't involve our girl friday: the overworked spinach. Cheerio's potato galette hit all the right spots, and the coffee was pitch perfect. The staff are very personable, and a pit stop here is the perfect way to start your day.

Came here at 5.45am this morning & the aroma of the coffee was amazing so I decided to try it & it was perfect but the amazing winner is the the very flakey,soft & tasty filo pastry.I bought both kinds & to me the best in Perth.Thanks to the staff for making my morning a better one 🙂

Grabbed a few coffees and hot chocolate first thing before hitting the road. First visit and I was not disappointed! Attentive service with great tasting coffee, got a short mac and was impressed. Heaps of freshly baked delicious goodies (hurt me to say no!) Glad I dont live too close by 🤑 Less than $20 for 4 hot drinks in this town is a deal in my book, plus they were excellent so highly recommended!

Had the best oat milk Laté with a perfect tasting home-made egg/spinach/cheese quiche: a taste-bud delight- could not have made it that good myself and I’m a pretty good cook 😆 Highly recommend the super friendly service too 👌🏼

I love honeycake and take pride in making the best honeycake myself. Knowing that, I was still excited to try The Honeycake Shop in Perth during my visit. I’d heard about it while living in Sydney, where we are lucky to have Christina’s Honeycake. Stepping into the Perth shop, I immediately noticed the similarities to Christina’s: the color scheme, display fridge, and layout all felt familiar. I was looking forward to the experience and was pleasantly surprised to see they offer halal options and unique flavors like pandan, although their selection isn’t as extensive as Christina’s. They even had tiramisu cups made with honeycake, which was intriguing. I bought a small slab to share with my husband back at the hotel. Unfortunately, I was disappointed to find the cake was several days old. The dryness was evident from the first bite. The layers were dense and felt more like they were held together with glue than the traditional sour cream filling. The cake lacked the softness and moisture I expect in a honeycake, and the flavor didn’t come through. I truly wanted to love this shop, but I can’t ignore the quality issues. I understand they’re a small business, and I hope they take feedback like this as an opportunity to improve. Best of luck to them.

I visited The Honeycake shop in Northbridge today, hoping to try their special roasted black sesame flavor. Unfortunately, it wasn’t available, but the visit was still worthwhile. The shop is tucked away in a small alley across from Kumo Dessert, with a clean and minimalist design that adds to its charm. I ended up getting my all-time favorite, the pandan slice, which never disappoints, and I also tried their honey cheesecake – delicate and delicious! The staff this morning was super friendly and made me feel very welcomed. I’ll definitely be back soon to try the black sesame when they have it in stock! ❤️

Stop by to get a quick takeaway honey for my man. The shop was so nice and cosy. The staff was very helpful. We went there Sunday afternoon and most of the cake was almost gone. We bought a small honey cake slice for $7.5 and it was just enough for one person. Very nice to have with coffee or tea.

The Honeycake is my go to for giving as presents and my take home gift when I travel interstate to visit my family and friends as it is uniquely WA. Besides the delicate and delicious tastes, the presentation is absolutely gorgeous. My absolute favourite is the Pandan and coconut flavour, although the original is just as delicious. I have also gifted these to my friends in Sydney NSW as they deliver via Australia express post. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We were the only customers when we got there (weekday, early afternoon). The cakes are good (both the original and the pandan one). Quite expensive at $7.5 each piece, but good :)

I ordered a strawberry torta from Dolcetto for my mother’s birthday and it was perfect. The sponge was so soft and light, sandwiched with delicious cream and custard plus strawberries. Just delightful. The medium size was also very generously sized with roughly a quarter of the cake remaining. Dolcetto will now be my go-to for cakes.

Friendly staff and nice pastries. I like the chocolate roll and lemon meringue. The chocolate scroll was soft. The lemon meringue crust was flaky. But the apple strudel pastry was too sweet for me. The latte foam was not smooth enough — probably the staff was too busy. Overall experience was great. Will come back again.

I recently purchased a Black Forest cake and specifically asked if it was made with fresh cream only, as I really don’t like buttercream. I was reassured that it was made with fresh cream, However, when I tried the cake, it clearly contained both fresh cream and buttercream. Unfortunately, I didn’t enjoy the cake at all because of the buttercream, which was exactly what I was trying to avoid. I find it quite disappointing and misleading, especially when a customer makes a clear request. Being honest about ingredients is important. This could have easily been avoided with the right information.

Dolcetto made an amazing cannoli stack for a birthday celebration with a range of pistachio, vanilla and chocolate filling. It was beautifully presented and tasted equally as good. They also made a gluten free chocolate cake that was just as amazing - thank you to all all at Dolcetto. PS the coffee and wraps to eat in are exceptional

We ordered a wedding croquembouche, it turned out spectacular and the taste was exquisite. Hefty profiteroles with silky smooth custard cream filling and crunchy caramel exterior. Looked great in photos too.

Incredible service and food. We have been on a cannoli hunt for the past few weeks and will 100% be back. The smell of coffee as you walk in was amazing and the family atmosphere makes this small business all the more special.

We ordered a Teddy Bear Cookie & Cream Cake from Just For You Bakery on Hay Street for my mum’s birthday — and it was nothing short of magical. From the moment we picked it up, we could tell this wasn’t just a cake — it was a work of art. The detailing on the teddy bear was absolutely beautiful, and the flavour? It was a very unpleasant experience. There are similar breads in Japan and it had the same style as Japanese bakeries. I was excited, but the customer service was very bad. The staff (a woman) was unfriendly and she didn’t even say “Hi, how are you?” She had no smile and seemed grumpy the entire time and even glared at me after the payment. Unbelievable, that’s terrible. That was disappointing. The food wasn’t bad… but I will never come back again.

VERY BAD EXPERIENCE&CUSTOMER SERVICE! We ordered the Black Tea Swiss Roll, but the cashier mistakenly gave us the Red Velvet. We realized this when we returned to the hotel. We tried contacting the shop over the phone more than ten times, but there was NO answer. To get the correct order, we had to walk 20 minutes in the heavy rain back to the shop. And there was no apology!

Purchased a slice of matcha cake, it taste like frozen cake and super dry. Not sure how long they kept the cake.

Just for You - The Bread House is a delightful bakery in Perth city! They offer a fantastic selection of freshly baked goods and beautifully crafted cakes. The atmosphere is cozy, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

Taste wise was not too bad, not overly sweet for breads we bought. Custard bun, matcha red bean mochi, taro mochi, chicken bun. Filling was too little so like we only ate bread. Service was just ok, no smile but also not rude. They use single plastics for bread like another bakery nearby. Hope these bakeries can start using paper bag one day?

The coffee has a well-balanced taste. It was neither bitter nor acidic. The coffee beans were medium-roasted. There were lots of pastries to choose from. Cheers! (2023-10)

Overpriced and underdelivered! We bought a pack of cookies which were moulded & expired (almost one month past the expiry date) that could have made us sick with mycotoxins in the mould, and when I emailed them nicely just to inform them, I never heard from them not even a reply or simple apology or a refund offer. Won’t go back to this store.

The Re Store in Leederville is an absolute gem! The selection is incredible – from authentic Italian and European groceries to gourmet cheeses, fresh breads, cured meats, and specialty wines, there’s always something new and exciting to discover. The deli is a standout, with generous and delicious rolls made fresh to order – honestly some of the best in Perth. The staff are warm, knowledgeable, and always happy to help with recommendations, whether it’s finding the perfect wine pairing or suggesting ingredients for a recipe. The atmosphere is friendly and bustling, making it such a pleasure to shop here. A true local institution that never disappoints – I always leave with more than I planned because everything is so tempting! Highly recommend for anyone who loves good food and quality produce.

We always order from Layers Bakery for every birthday celebration! Their cakes never disappoint.the one we just had was so delicious, with those amazing crispy layers that we love. And as always, it looked super colourful and beautifully made. No wonder my family is completely obsessed! Layers has definitely become our go-to for birthdays. I ordered the fresh fruit flan as a birthday cake. Absolutely stunning to look at and the fruit was fresh with a lovely cream filling. After a round of happy birthday I tried to cut the fruit flan which proved extremely difficult. It took 3 different knives to cut a piece because the base was borderline burnt, hard as nails and alas unpalatable. Should have been beautifully buttery. Really disappointed as the photo advertising the cake (photo No 1) is a lot different to what I was given (remaining 3 photos). A beautiful fruit flan, absolutely inedible base.

BEST croissants in Perth !!! The name of the bakery is exactly what the croissants have which is LAYERS, sooo crunchy and flaky and they don’t have that buttery aftertaste. Super consistent and always so delicious. They are very similar to Lune in Melbourne. Definitely recommend :)

First impression: Layers Bakery I was quite surprised to find this bakery, especially after seeing the pictures of their baked goods - I couldn’t believe I had not been here yet. Anyway, we travelled a good 1.5 hours to get, here, and this is how it went. As we reached this bakery, placed unassumingly into a shopping square, we were met with a queue of people waiting to get their hands on the baked goods- always a good sign. Just like everyone else there, we waited - patiently. (We were overjoyed that most of the baked goods were still available) There was a good energy to the place, there were enough people to give the place a vibe. 4/5 We ended up ordering a few things: 1. Iced latte: Good. Balanced and delicious. 4/5 2. Mortadella pinsa (a kind of airy flatbread with toppings): the base was light and airy but since it was sitting out, it didn’t retain its freshness or texture. 3/5 3. Bacon and parmesan scroll: Generously stuffed with bacon- buttery and with a hint of crispy. But failed to impress. 3.5/5 4. Mont blanc finger: Looked fabulous. The layers on the finger looked pristine. So beautifully made. But the flavours didn’t blow us away. In fact, the chestnut flavour was so mild, it felt like an overpriced cream roll (unfortunately) 2/5 5. Choquette: Light and airy. 4/5 Overall the food looked way better than it tasted. And the prices were higher than usual. 3/5 The service was decent enough. The coffees arrived quick. Polite and prompt. 4/5 Overall 3.5/5 edging into a 3 because of the food.

The issue with this bakery is a complete lack of common sense. When you visit a bakery for croissants and coffee on a Saturday morning, you rightfully expect to be served fresh croissants, especially from a place with a reputation. Instead, we were given old and cold croissants. We specifically drove here to try this bakery. We grabbed our morning treats before heading to the park to soak in the beautiful weather. Upon opening our bags, it was clear that the croissants were not fresh; they were stale and cold. Not only did the staff neglect to warm them up, but they also failed to recognise what customers expect: fresh items, not something clearly past its prime. We ultimately drove to another bakery that we know and were confident we wouldn’t be disappointed. Our morning was salvaged with authentic, fresh croissants, which we should have received in the first place.

A must visit bakery in Perth! Best croissant, I got to try it fresh out of the oven. It was warm, light and crispy, and so buttery. The canele was decent. Loved the pain suisse as well! I also tried the cube creme brulee, it was a bit too sweet for my liking though. Definitely would come back to try other baked goods!.

The bagels are nice, however they are difficult to eat, it’s so messy and made it less enjoyable! The Caesar was good but there was too much filling and it just went everywhere, nothing stayed in place. The bagel was also tough and dry. Second time around I ordered the roast beef and asked them to go easy on the meat. This made it a little bit more manageable but it was still a mission to eat. The caramelised onion was really tasty and added more flavour to it. The bagel was nicer than last time as well. Honestly not really sure how people usually eat bagels as I just don’t think they belong in sandwiches with so much filling. The service is friendly and the wait isn’t too long. A little bit on the expensive side.

Came on Sunday morning around 8:30am, not very busy and no need to wait. (When we left around 10am, it’s super busy, suggest to come early) Ordered the S.E.C to start with, absolutely love it, then straight away ordered the chicken one, which is more like a salad filling, I definitely prefer the port one instead. Tried Lox and Pastrami and roast beef, they all taste very nice. Also grabbed 6 bagels for breakfast in the following week.

This must be the most fantastic Bagel place in all of Perth! Located in Mt Lawley - this place serves the most freshly made bagels - not only can you choose the type of bagel, but you can add hash browns or other things in to make the perfect bagel. Our favourites and a must try if you’re visiting is the Bronsalini and the Pastrami Melt! The combination of flavours is amazing and the Everything Bagel is so tasty! Make sure you get here early during the weekends - otherwise you could wait in a queue then for an additional 20 minutes for the bagel to be made. They can also sell out so make sure you don’t miss out! The wait is well worth it!

First time here and everything was delicious. Staff and owner are super friendly, they even gave us little samples of doughnut when we walked in. The bagels are generously filled with top quality ingredients.

First time visitor and I loved this gorgeous little cottage bakery. Before you even enter the grounds you are welcomed in by the beautiful cottage garden and seating. Rosemary and lavender are generously planted giving a homely feel. Join the queue to place your order of delicious pastries, hot coffees and fresh delicious breads. Thoroughly enjoyed my dirty chai and Creme brûlée croissant.

One thing you need to do is arrive early. My favorite pastry is always sold out when I arrive in the afternoon But whatever they have is nice enough. peaceful venue and delicious pastry. Coffee is normal. a good cafe to visit.

First time Here - The bacon pastry was good, but since it came from the window it was cold. I asked the lady at the till if she could warm it up. She did take it, but wasn’t very friendly, and when I got it back it was still cold. I politely asked again, but was met with attitude. Thankfully, the chef came over, was very kind, and made sure it was properly heated. When the same staff member brought it back, there was no acknowledgement , no apology or even a simple ‘enjoy your food.’ Having worked over 10 years in hospitality myself, I know how small gestures of friendliness can make a big difference. The food was tasty, but I hope the customer service improves to match it.

We came for the pastries and we weren't disappointed in that sense. But no so enamored with the coffee, which was bitter and thin. Nice little garden to chill out on a Sunday morning.

Amazing Amazing Amazing. We had the cheese and tomato toastie (pictured) - delicious and cheesy with the right balance of toastie crunch and softness! The choc chip cookie - well, probably the best choc chip cookie I've ever had!! For my preference: perfectly soft and chewy ♥︎ it will now be my go to place for cookies! We also got ice coffees and a sliced half loaf of bread which was gorgeously soft with a nice crust.

Yummy Escargot, Friendly customer service and Perfect Matcha Latte. Canelle, Portuguese Tart, Raspberry Pain Au Chocolat, they have so many goodies to pick from. I love this place❤️❤️❤️

Wow. Excellent quality and craftsmanship. Flaky and delicate. The brownie was great too and somehow gluten free. It was moist and not too sugary, so you could taste other flavors. It also has chocolate chunks in it. The plain croissant is buttery and perfect. The chocolate one is my favorite though. You can tell lots of experience and effort goes into these because the place is owned by a pastry chef and very friendly French woman who care about the pastries.

The BEST and I mean the BEST vegan croissants I have EVER had. I haven’t been able to have a Ham & Cheese croissant in over 10 years, due to allergy and availability of vegan croissants. This Ham & Cheese croissant was incredible. The croissant is perfectly fluffy and slightly salty, the cheese was creamy and the ham was pretty convincing! The almond croissant is the best vegan one I’ve ever had. The butter-y taste of the croissant was so perfect with the almond paste. I made the trip out from central Perth during a very short layover and now this patisserie has me considering a move to Perth.

This is definitely in the top three best vegan pastries I’ve ever had. Such a hidden gem! Even my non-vegan partner said the croissant is tastier than many non-vegan ones. Will definitely come back to try every item. Only thing is the price is a little high, but totally worth it in my opinion! :)

In the energetic Inglewood area of Beaufort st. a modest store houses a selection of exciting, authentic and modern takes on the much loved and revered croissant. Friendly, enthusiastic service and a fantastic pistachio croissant 🥰 not too sweet and just the right amount of filling. I grabbed a coffee around the corner at LOCA and I was set! I’ll be back though, to sample the giant, crusty chocolate croissant next time.

buy these every year for my dads birthday as they are his fave I normally purchase from the glory box which I believe are the best in perth however it seems they have closed down so I took a chance on this place and they were far more expensive and burnt I ordered 2 dozen for almost $200… a bit disappointing 🥲

Had a sandwich here that had mustard in it .....and basically just mustard it was the craziest thing anyone has ever put in front of me on a plate it was allegedly a croque madam but what actually arrived was three slices of bread covered from one end to the other in an insane amount of extremely strong mustard that tased like wasabi and was impossible to eat without gagging to each there own taste for sure but I'm not simply saying I didn't enjoy it I'm saying no living person could actually choke it down without being sick I had to get as much water in me as I could right after the first bite as as soon as I put it in my mouth it had the white hot intensity of eating a tablespoon of pure wasabi could taste nothing else but pain and mustard madness. Credit where it due I told them and they replaced it and made a just ok normal version and gave me a coffee free for the trouble but I had to warn others cos in all seriousness had I been an old man with a heart problem I'd have probably died of shock I wish I was exaggerating

The was a pleasant find in an area with plenty of dining options. This place feels like a local hangout, and not your cookie-cutter corporate franchise cafe. It serves outstanding coffee, the food is fresh every day, the staff are friendly, and there is a nice crowd that hangs out here.

I would come here most mornings for breakfast for a couple of years, before starting work building apartments up the road. The coffee is outstanding and the breakie burger/ham+cheese croissant were some of the best I've had. Whilst the cafe is small and it can feel very cramped whilst waiting to order, the service here is impeccable and your not waiting for long. Staff here always greet you with a smile and most importantly, always get your order correct. This cafe really is great, it's hard to find a good breakfast spot and the fact I came here most days for a little 2 years says a lot. It's worth your time to check out!

Tried the apple strudel and chocolate cannoli. Both were very good, but not the best I’ve tried. The pastries were baked to a good crisp, and the flavours were well balanced.

The apple strudel is delicious, the puff pastry is very soft and crunchy. The filling is not too sweet, and you can taste the apple in every bite. The cinnamon isn’t too strong, but the price is a bit expensive – a small strudel costs AUD 5.

Mini Heart Apple Strudel priced at AUD 4.70 has a crispy texture and is not too sweet. The cream feels cool in my mouth when I bite into it. Delicious! The Chocolate Profiterole (AUD 3.80) is just as yummy, and the latte is also nice at AUD 4. Unfortunately, there is no dine-in area, but I can sit on the park benches in front of the shop. The service is friendly. Will come back again for sure! ❤️

Arrived at around 16:00 and their fridge was already more than half empty. Staff recommeded the Apple Strudel, Amore and custard Horns. Turned out I also liked their mini blueberry tarts. Would definitely come by again earlier next time to try their other pastries.

I was strongly recommended to try this and it was worth the effort to go all the way there. It is a standalone shop selling the famous apple strudel and other pastries. I got a half size and was pleasantly surprised by its taste. The apples tasted so fresh! It's not sourish like the others that I have tasted. The whole pastry tastes so fluffy-light and it's really delicious. Best eaten fresh. I kept half in the fridge for the next morning; apples still taste good (and I wonder how they don't turn brown?) But the pastry has collapsed and not crispy anymore.

It's a nice little restaurant but that's about it. We had a galette and the croque madame. You could taste the flour from the crepe which was not nice at all, and the croque madame had so much cheese(and not a very good one) that it made the sandwich very oily and disgusting, it was not properly toasted and very soggy, it was supposed to have ham inside but i barely you see or taste it. The drinks were mediocre. I definitely recommend not going there, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Great French Cafe with amazing coffee and food. Galettes were delicious. Service was fast and prompt. Atmosphere was excellent, that was a Sunday morning so it was quiet and tranquil.

Coffee here is always extremely good, never had a bad one. French Vanilla Slice is amazing too. Pastry is baked superbly and custard is delicious- not like the Australian snot blocks sold elsewhere - no offence there to those bakeries 🙂

La Galette cafe again was a delightful experience from start to finish. The cozy ambiance, complete with charming decor and soft French music, transported me to the streets of Paris. The menu offered a variety of classic French dishes, all expertly prepared with fresh and high-quality ingredients. I particularly enjoyed the baguette sandwich, which was crispy and freshly baked, and the espresso was rich and satisfying. The service was friendly and attentive, making me feel like a valued guest. Overall, the La Galette cafe provided a wonderful taste of France right in the heart of Perth, and I can't wait to return for another culinary journey."

Only have coffee and pastries as I tend to go early in morning . Never disappointed- excellent coffee and probably best croissants in Perth. Galleries and sandwiches look great and will try one day. A nice place to go.

cute, bustling neighbourhood cafe! the atmosphere was so lovely and peaceful, it saved the experience for sure. strawberry tart [8/10⭐️; AUD$7.50] — fresh sweet strawberries! the tart was a decent one. banana & oat smoothies [5/10⭐️; AUD$9] — it was truly just banana and oat, it wasn’t really sweet enough. i wished they used bananas that were more ripe, or added in some honey!

How can you not love this place? I have been a loyal customer since they first opened, and I even dropped by again today! My favourite is the German sausage, strawberry tart, salami roll with pear and artichoke, and i love their pastries. They also have another location in leederville. Honesty my favourite thing about places line this is the consistency in their products. They are always good, and they have a new sitsown area next door, both inside and out , or you to enjoy their food.

The pastries are absolutely amazing—flaky, buttery, and full of flavour—and the desserts are just as impressive, with each one tasting as good as it looks. Their spinach and ricotta sausage rolls are a standout for me—perfectly seasoned, with a rich, comforting filling that keeps me coming back. The coffee here is very good—while I’ve had slightly better elsewhere, it’s still rich, smooth, and pairs perfectly with their pastries. What really makes the experience shine is the staff: they’re extremely attentive, friendly, and genuinely eager to help, making you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. Seating can be a little limited, but the warm, inviting atmosphere makes it worth finding a spot. If you’re in the area, I’d definitely recommend stopping by—whether for a quick coffee and pastry or a relaxed break to enjoy some of the best baked goods in town.

I absolutely love it. Specially, tart was amazing. But customer service seems a bit poor, 🤔. For example last Saturday was rainy and many customers struggles drying tables and chairs with their scarf or jacket to sit. I know you are very busy and eveyone love your Patisseries but it is also important for customers to feel respected, cared and special too.

I recently purchased pretty expensive Bragg olive oil and the shelf life on this is ridiculous. I contacted this company in regards to this and got no response. The oil itself does not taste any different compared to Woolworths olive oil. I will not buy from this company again.

Excellent Service. I accidentally clicked the wrong delivery date and the staff were so accommodating and delivered to me on the day I reached out via email. I am so grateful and the food looks delicious. There was one item I didn't receive but I believe that was due to the unexpected rush of delivery which was on me. Highly recommend to everyone.

This place is absolutely amazing. All the products are vegan friendly and the range is huge. Everything from vegan salamis, vegan cheeses to vegan bags. A very fun shop to look through and find so many delicious foods. Easy to order online and collect from their store or they do deliver for a small cost. The ham and cheese (vegan of course) was so tasty. The lovely gentleman makes a fantastic flat white too. Will definitely be back to explore and buy more vegan foods. The staff are incredibly friendly and super helpful. 👌

Rottnest Bakery is a charming pit stop with a relaxed vibe. The bakeries are generally decent. A great place to unwind, especially with quokkas casually wandering around the café.

Came here in the morning to have breakfast before exploring Rottnest Island. It’s still a good option considering there are not many other options in the morning. The breads and croissants overall taste ok, and still reasonable for the price. Although when ordering the drinks, the queue can be quite long. There are plenty of quokkas, some can enter the place as well.

We had lunch here on a Monday. I ordered a butter chicken pie + small veggies plate and my partner a half chicken plate with fries. Everything was nice :) I also tried an almond cappuccino which was decent. There were sweet options like donuts and croissants, savoury scrolls, sushi, sandwiches and so on. Plenty of options for everyone! We were seated outside surrounded by quokkas and seagulls 🤣 be careful or they'll steal your food.

I forgot to pick up my latte with a big order of food and they made me a new one when I remembered to pick it up, which was more than 30 minutes ago! Thumbs up! Food was descent and many pastries selection. And of course you get to dine with quokkas😍

Asked several people where to eat on Rottnest. They all recommended the bakery. It is very popular but the pies and rolls were excellent and as we sat outside eating we had a quokka under the table.

worse behave may be it was long day work and they were about to close but the staff was so rude . he didnt even want to reheat the sandwich because they are almost closed and i have to refund it. look at the chips they serve us it was waste of money. Attention Brindle family, Dear Greg, You are the custodian of WAs most iconic bakery, the Rottnest Island Bakery. However, and sadly, the current offering, with the utmost respect, Greg, is pig slops. Everybody is thinking this but they won’t tell you. The spinach ricotta is full of rice (redolent of fly lava, no mirth intended), bland, tasteless, with greasy heavy pastry. If it actually had any taste, I could identify it as probably, a spinach ricotta roll. Let’s go to the pies Greg, which are breaking everybody’s hearts. On Easter Sunday we tried to eat two steak and peppers and a standard meat pie. They were inedible with heavy greasy sodden pastry, a stewed concoction full of gelatinous matter; and a struggle to find a few morsels of tasteless meat. At Easter, may I say Hosanna, to the bakery. And Greg as the custodian of this world famous island bakery, please get this right, otherwise, my boating trips to Geordie bay will sadly decline in the absence of the famous culinary delight of the Rotto pie at the settlement. Yours sincerely, A seasoned, hungry boatie, desperately craving a seasoned Rotto pie. Tip: increase the price from $8.50 to $10, and use the very best ingredients.

Croissant is definitely not fresh. Staff not very friendly. Coffee very average. It used to be different, the one on hay st was delicious! Shame :(

Patisserie is great, coffee is still good, but food and service quality seemed to have slipped from what it was.

It was quite busy when we went but the wait time for both our food and drinks was reasonable. Staff were efficient and friendly.

Lunch at Miss Maud’s today… behold this generous salad: one heroic sliver of tomato, a single cucumber coin, and a daring trio of onion threads. Truly, Miss Maud’s must be teetering on the brink of bankruptcy after such flamboyant generosity. The meal was billed as chicken and avocado — though the avocado clearly had a scheduling conflict and could only pop in for a cameo appearance. All this for the modest price of $20.95. Fine dining? Or performance art? You decide. 🥗

I ordered a burger and small chips. My wife, who wasn't particularly hungry, asked for a child's fish and chips. The burger was OK, nothing to rave about. The chips appeared to be deep fried, under cooked, and tasted awful. But the highlight was definitely the fish - if you could call it that. The three pieces of 'fish' consisted of enough fish to fill a skinny straw, surrounded by a thick beer batter. Miss Maude should not be allowed to sell this as fish, when really all it consists of is batter. The tea and coffee were ok. We will NEVER go to Miss Maude in the future.

My Visit to Miss Maud Joondalup I walked into Miss Maud in Joondalup this evening, and unfortunately, it was a shocking experience. I was met by a young lady with a very poor attitude. All I asked for was a catering menu, and her only response was, “We are closed.” I have never experienced such rudeness. Her fellow staff members looked just as shocked as I was. Thankfully, another staff member—a gentleman—came from the back, politely gave me a menu, and explained how I could order online. He was professional and helpful, and I truly appreciate his assistance. I believe she should be trained better on customer service, as her attitude was unacceptable. I am a big fan of Miss Maud’s food, but after this evening, I left feeling disappointed and shocked.

Absolutely disgusting eggs served to me today, Joondalup, this is not my only bad experience of this particular cafe, but it's definitely the worst. Asked for the sausage, hash brown and egg brekkie, eggs were meant to be over easy, however what I got was cremated! Never even attempted to eat them. Looked around for a server to come clear away so I could complain and there wasn't one to be had! All seemed to be blethering behind the counter. Only thing good about today was the server, never seen her before so she's either a newbie or a Saturday shifter. She was pleasant and friendly. However that said, I won't go back, I should've learned a lesson first time round. I've added a photo in the photo tab.

Typical Miss Mauds. I'm not a huge fan of Miss Mauds anyway, however the people I was with wanted to go have coffee here. Coffee to me is very average, and I go to a lot of different cafes. Didn't have a meal, just coffee and pot of Tea. Tea apparently was OK bug not that strong. A bit like my coffee. Atmosphere was average too. I've rated Miss Mauds 3 stars out of 5 based on experience from visiting other cafes. Personal taste really.

I ordered pumpkin soup for my friend who is a big eater and loves her food. When I looked at her soup, she left half of it. I asked her what’s wrong with her soup, she said that no pumpkin in it. I tried it, it was watery and bland. I told the young man who was in charge. I live in Innaloo and I loved the food in Miss Maud Karrinyup. He offered me a coffee voucher.

Great stop over for lunch. Clean and welcoming set up with outside sitting area with soft music. Mushroom lasagne wasn't that fantastic, coffee was perfect with nice aromatic smell. Serving staff need a little more smile though.

The Artisan Mundaring Bakery and Cafe, is a quaint little eatery in the heart of Mundaring. The atmosphere offers the unique charm of a picturesque country town with the hospitality to match. The store is bustling with locals coming in and out to purchase their fresh bread while professionals, tourists and locals dine in a spacious cafe area that boasts both indoor and outdoor areas. We had a selection of pies and sausage rolls including beef cheese and bacon pie , beef and mushroom pie, classic beef pie and a classic sausage roll. We dined in and the customer service was wonderful and hospitable. Coffee was enjoyable and pies were served warm and fresh. The pastry on top of the pies was delicious and flaky, however the bottom of the pies pastry was a little too thick for my liking, and the ratio of meat to pie was a little inconsistent- the beef cheese and bacon pie was packed with meat, where as the beef and mushroom was a little lacking. There are several other options that looked tasty such as their selection of sandwiches, toasties and cakes, as well as some amazing sounding breads (jalapeño, cheese and chive🤤) and home made family sized lasagnas which we will have to try another time. All in all it was a positive experience in the heart of the hills and definitely an above average experience for a bakery. See you next time!

Really good food and coffee, great spot to sit indoor or out door seating. The steak sandwich was very good and donuts exceptional.

We called into the bakery today and ordered a bacon/egg toastie. Unfortunately the bacon smelt and tasted off. We went back to the counter and swapped it for a pie. We asked about a manager and the manager seemed to be out and that is the last we heard.

Thankful this place stays open that bit later in the afternoon. Damn fine sausage rolls and surprisingly good coffee for a bakery. Recommend!

Sad to see how different this place has become since Patrick ran it. Ordered a large cake and was quoted one price on the phone (had a witness to original quote) once in store we ordered coffee, tea and carrot cake. Then was overcharged $10 for the large cake. The coffee tasted like it had cigarette ash in it and wasn't drinkable (all parties tasted this) and the cake was very dry and stale. We came back here after a while as we used to be very loyal to the place. But with the abbrassive customer service we received and the quality of the food we won't be back. Initially the customer service was okay until we pointed out the error. I can only hope the large cake we ordered is decent as it is a gift for someone else.

Great cake shop and good customer service. Shirley has an excellent customer service and always wants to make the best for you, she made my day with my husband's birthday cake. she did great job. Thank you very much Shirley and all sugar &spice staff. Really recommend it.

This review is for the new cafe at Lakeside Shopping Centre. We have tried this cafe three times now based on our positive experiences from the original sugar and spice cafe on Lakeside Drive. Each time at the new one they have gotten our order wrong and completely mucked up in their service. The pastries and cakes on display on two occasions were not ready for consumption yet and so we were told that we couldn't eat them, this was at 3.00pm in the afternoon. They did not apologise for the mixed up orders and we had to pay for their mistakes. Now we go upstairs to the other new French cafe, better service and great coffee.

I drop into this cafe after my bike ride on Saturday mornings and usually just grab a coffee. I tried a croissant the other day and was blown away. This was no ordinary croissant that you get from other cafes. It was rich, fluffy and the taste was great. The pastry was delicate and almost melted in your mouth. The French influence here is unmistakable so if you want a top quality dessert or sweet, then go there!

I ordered a custom cake for my daughter's 2nd birthday in December, with a pick up date in February. The day before pick up we gave the store a courtesy call to see if everything was still on track as we had ordered so far in advance. We were told that the cake was on site and it would be ready for pickup on the designated day and before we could confirm the price and other details we were hung up on. The next day my Mum went to pick up the cake on my behalf and while we had confirmed a set time for pick up the day before, when she got there the cake had not even been iced yet! Unfortunately I did not actually see the cake until it was time to put the candles and the cake topper on and sing Happy Birthday to my 2 year old in front of about 50 of my family and friends. I was mortified to see that it was definitely not what Shirley the manager and I had agreed on. The buttercream had not set yet and the custard was warped. The icing was supposed to be an ombre design with ocean colours. It was 3/4 white with just a pitiful sliver of blue icing across the bottom part of the cake. Worst yet the top part of the cake, (which was a continental torta), had shifted and it was lopsided. When the cake was cut I noticed that the sponge cake inside was all burnt and crumbly. I immediately took photos of the cake and called the manager to notify her of what had happened. At the time she was apologised profusely and offered 100% full refund of the cost of the cake. She even said that she felt like crying herself after hearing what had happened. She then told me that she had staffing problems (chefs suddenly leaving and short staffed) and on that day a staff member came to work two hours late and drunk which I personally did not think was my issue. I told her it wasn't about the money but I will take the refund since it was so embarrassing. On Monday when I touched base via email to Shirley she rescinded the offer of the full refund and aggressively called me a scammer over the phone, saying "You're like everyone else!" She accused my Mum of moving the cake during transport and that many other customers had commented on how nice the cake was. I said to her "How could they have commented when the cake wasn't even iced yet and after that it was hastily shoved into a box?" My Mum had to quickly approve the look of the cake from the side before it was quickly taped up. She refused to empathise as a manager, acted very unprofessionally over the phone, spoke bad about her staff but then was quick to turn around and support them when she thought I was scamming her. She then proceeded to hang up on me. I had nil issues in the years I'd been getting cakes from there until now. I definitely will be telling all my family and friends about this experience and I hope that no one supports this unprofessional business with obvious lack of integrity again.

What can i not say about this bakery, it has gone completely the wrong way since being bought out a couple of years ago. The quality is a bit less however my biggest grip is the lack of stock and staff, the place used to be heaving but now youll be lucky to see a couple of punters. I guess the previous owner is laughing all the way to the bank.

The manager is disdainful -- she is greedy, rude, and absolutely untrustworthy. The food is average to poor and so overpriced. The kitchen and front counter are disorganised and dirty, and their equipment is falling apart everywhere. This coming from someone who hasaid had firsthand experience INSIDE their kitchen, I can honestly say that it was disgusting and confusing as well as completely short staffed and unprepared.

Very good location, in the central, and next to hotels.. As a new visitor to Perth, i am not familiar with the brand. But everytime i passed by the outlet, it always had some people in short or long queue .. On my last day in Perth, i gave it a try... Love it .. I ordered the pie and a warmed Dutch apple slice.. At first, i was planning to share them with my uncle that time, but it ended up I finished those 2 items alone for my last breakfast in Perth 😄💝 .. So good 👍

Miss Maud is the famous bakery store in Perth with many years of history. I buy the sandwich from this store always every week. I like the ham and egg sandwich. Coffee is ok.

Prompt and efficient service even when very busy. The staff here are always friendly and welcoming. There is good service and there is great service. This outlet falls in the latter category. A small error with my order led to an effort by every staff member to ensure i was happy. They owned the mistake and went above and beyond. This is down to the leadership of the store manager. They all deserve a raise!

Decent food, but if you're expecting a nice relaxing morning sitting out front, forget it. The escape route door outside which is used by staff was slammed shut 4 times in 10 minutes that I was there. Then again, if you're happy with that sort of atmosphere, then have at it!

A bakery that opens daily, with their pastries made on site. Pies, toasties, loaves, sweet pastries, drinks, coffee..a good range to cater to the likes. Pistachio and lemon curd doughnut was awesome- generous sour lemon filling with a tinge of sweetness of doughnut and pistachio on top. Kransky cheese sausage was smoked just right. Black pepper pie.. crusty and beefy.

Absolutely fantastic stop off. Jarrod was exceptional with service. He prepared our orders while we were discussing them (we had a large order). The food was ready almost instantly. There is a lovely sitting area to enjoy your food. Amazing variety of treat to eat here and to take away. Coffee was great. Great teamwork from the service staff and toilets available.

This bakery puts quality 1st in every way. Not only with excellent coffee and service, its in every single fresh pie, sausage roll, gorgeous free range chicken and salad rolls, just some of the treats available every day, So worth the picturesque drive up Toodyay rd, jist 15 mins from midland, not forgetting to grab some sweets while you're there. I haven't tasted everything yet, (goals) but I guarantee it's good 😋

Horrible experience from start to finish. The man behind the counter was rude, unhelpful, and clearly didn’t care about customers at all. He spoke with attitude, refused every request, and was shockingly disrespectful even with kids around. There was no sense of courtesy or professionalism. If you value decent service and a good mood, stay far away from this place.

Absolutely terrible experience at this Cheesecake Shop. The customer service was non-existent. The staff member(around 2pm, 5th July Saturday) who served me behaved in an extremely rude and unprofessional manner — it felt like he had no training or basic manners to deal with customers. Every request I made was flatly refused without any explanation or courtesy. His behavior was erratic and completely unacceptable for someone in a customer-facing role. I will never return to this location and do not recommend it to anyone expecting even the minimum level of service.

The cakes are fine, but the service at this shop is off-putting. We went to buy a cake using a discount we'd been given previously, but the vendor wasn't willing to apply the discount and was coming up with all kinds of excuses for it. In the end he had to apply the discount because there were no grounds for what he was saying. Another time I had called in to order some cakes and the receiver was very impolite - he wasn't willing to wait even a minute while I clarified the order. If it wasn't for the lack of cake shops in the Wembley area I wouldn't order cakes from here again, the customer service is hardly a service at all.

Nice shop… even open on Sunday with decent timings. Tasty, quick grab cakes plus helpful staff. Only issue, Cambridge st is busy and can at times make finding parking spot hard.

This was the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. The man serving was extremely rude, aggressive, and had absolutely no patience — even with kids around. He spoke in a harsh tone, snapped at us for simply asking questions, and refused every single request without reason. He acted like he was being forced to be there and took his frustration out on everyone. My children felt uncomfortable and intimidated by his behavior. Completely unacceptable and disgusting service. This man should not be working in any customer-facing job. Stay far away from this shop.

Ordered a cake for pickup. Website said $54.95. Was charged $59.95. (Only checked when I got home). Nice rip-off guys. You won’t get me again

Our first visit and we are sure to be back. There is just so much deliciously tempting food on display. We had a very tasty baguette sandwich each. And drooled at the donuts.

This would have to be my new favourite cafe. The food is spectacular to view and even more delicious to eat. The coffee is divine and while observing (as I do), made with attention for good service. Located in a fairly busy part of Leederville the street itself is not and we had no difficulty parking

Couldn’t be happier with the perfect Black Forest cake for my birthday! Just as the online recipe says, plus cute gold dust on top. Kirsch liquor is not overpowering and the cream is so airy light.

I absolutely adore visiting CJC! 😋 Their baked goods are simply divine. But for me, it's their coffee that truly seals the deal, always perfectly brewed. ☕ It's the ideal spot to indulge and enjoy good hospitality. This café bakery gets pretty busy, especially on the weekends, for its very good French pastries and baguettes. The baguettes had that classic French-ness (even though being wrapped in cling wrap made the crust a bit chewy) filled with tightly packed tasty fillings, and the crisp and buttery tarts had nice glazed sweet toppings. However, the sticky date pudding cake we tried was comparatively lacking in flavour and a bit dry - it was a sugar hit of a cake that was a bit dry and not great. We also had long blacks, which were a strong bitter blend that was very good.

Jean Claude in Leederville is excellent. Delicious rolls, scrumptious cakes, pastries and biscuits and great variety of yummy breads. Coffee good. Only problem is what to choose each time. That’s why we’re there every week. Enjoy!

Lawley bakery cafe has been around for many years. The foods, breads, cakes and coffee are acceptable. I like the breakfast wrap that have wrap, bacon, vegetables, tomatoes and egg. I used to get their muffins which are good too. The cafe needs upgrade to keep up with other new cafes nearby.

This is the big vegetarian, I think it was $24 including a coffee. Wait time: 20/30 minures for coffee, 50/60 minutes for food. Food: somewhat ok, eggs were nice. Grilled tomato was cold, not a nice texture. Missing mushrooms. 1 piece of bread toasted, 1 not toasted, weird. My partners dish came out 5/10 mins after mine, and they brought out a plate of mushrooms at the same time for me. My partner ordered the big breakfast, which came out exactly like the vegetarian breakfast, added bacon. It was missing sausages. Had me wondering why the plates came out 5/10 minutes apart. We also had a flat white each, these also came out 5 minutes apart. When bringing food/drinks out the staff would say, for example "flat white?", when we both indicated it was for me, it was still placed in front of my partner to pass to me. Even the mushrooms brought out later for my plate were placed in front of my partner. Coffee 4/5 Food itself 2/5 Service 2/5 Price 1.5/5 I don't usually mind price but given missing items, wait time and poor service, I would have been happier if it was $15-$20.

Their seeded sourdough bread used to be good value but over the last two years the price has gone up substantially and the loaf size has reduced. In addition we now have far less substance. We’ll give them a miss from now on!

Not a bad little bakery/cafe in Mount Lawley. Ordered a Ham, cheese and tomato croissant which arrived quickly and was hot and tasty. Girl serving me was the only one here and although she was very friendly and lovely seemed to be a little bit flustered as more people started coming in. Seems like this place needs a little refresh on what it takes to make a good cafe great. More staff, more variety in the cakes and pastries cabinet especially early on a Saturday morning and especially in a prime location. A nice place overall just needs a bit of TLC ❤️

My friend treated me for a nice cuppa and fruit tart here. The atmosphere is lovely, and I enjoyed the cake. Next time, I ought to bring more friends. The smell of the bread.....gotta love that ❤️

Awesome vibe, great coffee and food, super friendly staff. Love the neighborhood. The cafe is very spacious with high ceilings which makes it feel not too crowded, but also not too big and sparse. A must visit!

Bought 5 cakes/ slices from here this morning for $29.00. All 3 vanilla slices were stale, pastry was hard and the custard was revolting.The chocolate mud cakes/ muffins were hard and couldn’t eat. Not impressed at all.

I don't normally like making negative reviews unless it is absolutely necessary. I would first like to say the man who served me was absolutely lovely! Welcoming, friendly, very kind. Although his nails looked like they had a fungal infection, like the majority of them. I could be completely wrong and told myself to stop over thinking it. The choc eclair I bought was good! The pepper steak pie, however was very unusual. Has whitish gelatinous stuff in it instead of gravy... Thought that might just be what they use🤷‍♀️ The meat was tender. Was kind of sweet tasting though- I gave it a smell a couple of times and it smelt ok.. but it's very odd and I didn't eat it all. I decided to check the reviews and omg I wish I did beforehand 🫠 If I get sick after this, I'll know what it was from 😬

Didn't risk this place previously due to the most recent reviews but thought I'd give it a go. HUGE mistake! the steak pie is literally filled with gross clear glue… for $8 it's an absolute disgrace, didn’t end up eating it. A Mrs Mac from the servo is a much better option...

The orst bakery in Perth easily. They use this clear jelly to pack out their pies and save money. Without exagerating I'd say you get 20% meat if you're lucky because sometimes it'll be even worse jelly to meat mix because it's not blended. I think they just chuck a bunch of jelly in there pie pot and give it a quick stir.. The owners have no personality at all and just robotically take your order and shuffle you along. Desperately, they cling to this old newspaper cutout where they won a best pie award. Those days are gone (if not a fluke) and all that's left is a dirty, price gouging, passionless husk of a so called "bakery". I've bought pies from this place too many times only because it's close but I'm done and what it really shows is that Scarborough is severley lacking in quality food establishments, it's one shortcoming. Don't say I didn't warn you ;)

I just popped by Brighton Bakery, a place I've visited many times before. Mr. Don's warm smile and kindness are always a perfect complement to his pastries whenever I'm craving a sinful sugar fix. I truly love this old-fashioned Aussie-style bakery, which this Vietnamese man has kept alive for generations! While corporations and chains feed us their soulless products, Brighton Bakery, simply by enduring despite the obstacles, genuinely made my day BRIGHT-ON!!!

Rarely give a review after only just one visit---so we went back again for a second time. The results, their pies are either undercooked or filled with minimal meat and mostly a thick gravy with 'something' else like grisle or a gelatinous substance that is just gross. The second time their chicken & vegetable pie is basically what looks like frozen vegetables mix from Coles, absolute minimal chicken and a white sauce that is just gross. The place could well do with a total clean....don't get me started on their toilets!

Save your Health, eat elsewhere! Their food (inc. pies) terrible. (21 June 2025) Received fines in excess of AUD$140,000.00 for serious food safety breaches. Including but not limited to milk being 5 months out of date, dead insects found in cooking equipment, mouldy dough, fridges failing to maintain temperature at a safe level of food items intended for human consumption.

Used to love this place. Ordered two ham and cheese toasties. They were so dry it was hard to eat them. And an almond croissant (used to be a favourite here) and couldn't eat it it was that bad. Very sad, used to be a great place. Won't be back.

My partner brought me here after raving for years how good the croissants were when he used to live in the area. We spent $56 for 2 pathetic excuses for croissants, containing fake cheese slice, and 1 piece of ham in a crumbly half size croissant. Highway robbery in my opinion for mediocre food and service. The chai latte tastes like hot milk. The service was all over the place. It’s sad to see what was clearly a thriving location go downhill.

Gone down hill big time since new owners, Cost $30 for a loaf or bread and x2 chicken and salad rolls. The rolls were disgusting!!! the place isn't clean, old stale bread bits in the bread cutter and the lady just used her hands and brushed it on the floor then touch my loaf of bread with bare hands, so gross!!! up your game

Walked in and walked out. Could tell it’s been taken over as no beautiful pies in the window no fresh looking pastries no bread and very dirty! We used to come here for the beautiful bread and pastries obviously the new owners have no idea what they are doing and have destroyed such a thriving business many would flock to. Highly dissapointed and a zero rating!

It's such a pity when a business goes downhill. We loved this place for decades under two different owners, but we won't be coming any more at the moment. I think the bakers must have left or changed after the change of ownership because the quality of the baked goods is now very average to poor 😢

Ordered 2 croissants today bit into 1 tasted very stale and old def not baked today. Advised the server not happy can tell this croissant was not baked this morning. She went out the back and queried it. Was right def not baked today. She apologised and refunded my money. $4.50 for a croissant that's not fresh hell no.

Don’t bother going here! Just bought a berry danish and what server claimed was an apricot danish. Berry danish had old paper stuck to its base which was almost eaten before being discovered - it had clearly been sat on paper as whole item was soggy, tough pastry and stale. The so called apricot danish was inedible on first bite it tasted mouldy - when opened for inspection it had pulped apple inside. Both went straight in the rubbish bin. Should be checked by health authorities as unsafe for human consumption. Used to be a lovely fresh patisserie but no more!! If there was a “zero” rating I would’ve used that. Disgusted 🤮

Place must be under different management, coffee tasted like it was from the service station. Decent prices but the croissant and sweets tasted like it was bought from Cole’s or had been frozen. Poor communication, as we waited 20 minutes for a croissant which was cold, when we were the only ones waiting for food in the building

This place is possibly under different management than it was when the food and coffee were of high quality. The coffee we had on this visit was bland and there wasn't alot of foam on our lattes which means the milk isn't being textured enough by the Barista. The cakes look very nice, however I am pretty sure they are bought from somewhere else in order to sell here. Like everyone else on the reviews for this place, I don't want to leave a negative review but I feel they could do so much more for this cafe to be able thrive and be a place people want to come back to.

I went there on Sunday afternoon at 3:45pm i walked in and seem 3 people sitting down having coffee but when I went 2 the counter the lady told me that it was closed so I said doesn't this close at 4:30pm she looked at me in a very rude manner and said we are closed nd that's that. Very rude lady I will never return back and that was my first time there.

Lovely community coffee and baked goods corner shop. We were there on Easter Sunday and happy to have hot hot cross bun and delicious butter with out coffees, sitting out and enjoying a beautiful afternoon. With most other shops closed this time of day, we appreciate the La Vespa's dedication and service. Full marks!

This cafe has lovely cakes and as you can see, excellent coffee with breakfast burger. Luckily the day I arrived it was on promo price. Delicious and great value. Thank you so much to the staff at this great cafe ☺️

Has really gone downhill in the last 12 months. Poor, surly (borderline rude) service, crazy high prices and what looks like mass produced pies. And I’ve never seen a more sad looking vanilla slice, lopsided, no topping to speak of, and really thin. I wouldn’t be so annoyed as I am, if the one in the cabinet (which I thought I was getting), didn’t look so tasty. Shame I didn’t look in the bag until I got home. Spend your money elsewhere

Always busy when we walk past we decided to stop and take a load off. The coffee and hot chocolate were good and the lemon tart was excellent.

"Should have gone to maccas or hungry jacks" My husband and I visited Saturday as we always wanted to try, however, I'm afraid to say that we regret we decided to do so. As soon as we sat down, we had to hunt for salt and pepper for our food as they were missing from our table, then I noticed a few other tables had a complete set of salt&pepper, some had one of them, and some had none like ours. Not sure they were not meant to be located on the table at all times though, I found it was a bit inconvenient. (Also, we didn't have a chance to ask the staff for salt and pepper as they were not around cause they were taking orders, making drinks, etc, further from tables) We ordered Eggs benedict and breakfast wrap and when we had our dishes, we were excited to finally enjoy Miss Maud food, but it didn't last long unfortunately. The eggs benedicts had hard boiled eggs which we have never seen, and 2 small pieces of bacons on each bread. And another problem for the breakfast wrap was a lack of sauce and ingredient. We left without finishing the food and grabbed some other food on the way home, and definitely won't go back.

I went here despite the reviews. I ordered brekkie wrap and large cap. The wrap was very tasty and the cap covered in chocolate powder which I like. I was very impressed with this cafe. It's worth a try.

Service was fantastic, guy serving the tables is super friendly (think his name is Brock) he should be commended for his happy and friendly manner while serving tables, Well Done Champ! Food was great also. Keep it up guys! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Miss Maud Belmont – Afternoon Tea Disappointment Today, I visited Miss Maud Belmont for afternoon tea. The cost is approximately $15 per person. The environment was acceptable—not particularly impressive, but not unpleasant either. However, the level of service was disappointing. At around 3:40 PM, I observed a group of customers who sat down for only five minutes before leaving. The reason? The coffee machine had already stopped operating, despite the store not closing until 4:00 PM. More concerning was that the staff, who clearly saw them enter, did not inform them of this until they tried to order. As for my own experience, it was equally underwhelming. I ordered three items: a chicken pie, a curried egg sandwich, and one dessert, along with coffees. Unfortunately, two out of the three food items were incorrect. I was mistakenly served a lamb pie—even though I do not eat red meat. I only realised this after taking two bites. This could have been extremely dangerous had I had a food allergy. Similarly, the curried egg sandwich was substituted with a tuna sandwich—again, without informing us. This is a serious issue, as allergies to seafood can be life-threatening. Fortunately, neither of us has allergies, but this kind of mistake is unacceptable. In my view, this reflects very poor management. I do not blame the individual staff members, but I do hold the management responsible for the lack of training and quality control. Such carelessness and unprofessional service cannot be overlooked or excused. Based on this experience, I cannot give more than one star.

Service is sad and rude. The girl taking order at 4:54PM doesn’t greet in a friendly way and is always giving a vibe that she can’t wait to be done with it. She is very rude and did not understand simple instructions. and to be honest that’s the only reason I chose to give a review. If customers are paying food the least you can give them good customer service and good vibes. I think her name was Vaanya.There were other customers as well disappointed and couple actually left their sausage roll and pie just due to negligence of not listening or ignoring instructions.Please hire good staff!

Ordered a toasted asparagus and cheese sandwich, came out with tomato , was barely toasted and cold, waited 1/2 an hour. . No beef for the beef burgers. No croissants only found out after being seated. Told No bacon in the breakfast burger, it came out with bacon. Everyone's meal was cold except the scrambled eggs. Very disappointing fathers day lunch. Won't be back again.

7th September 9 orders all cold, staff didn’t offer replacement or refund just look at us dumb founded first out of beef for the beef burger and then no croissants but insisted we pay the difference in there suggested similar choice, pumpkin soup only just warm had been microwaved and had a hard film on top so heated then left to sit before served. At least an apology would have been nice.
