Excellent food and service all around. We liked they asked if we wish to include ginger and wasabi because we don't like wasting food. Our server was Kim and the managers spent a few moments speaking with us. Music was excellent and not too loud so we chatted without any difficulty.

Authentic Japanese cuisine with a little bit of Korean flair. The Chicken teriyaki dinner was a wonderful set and huge. The sauce is amazing and on the whole the setbis very filling. The wild salmon is wild and mouthwateringly tender, this is a good place to order sashimi. Their Maki is top notch, fresh, tightly rolled and secure. Proper ginger without pink dye and the wasabi has a perfect spice point. Highly recommend for dinning in or takeout.

Perfect food. Perfect presentation. Courteous and quick service. The price asked was less than the quality of the food merited. Times are tough and economy is important, but Sushi Langford does not stint the customer (a growing trend in the restaurant industry). I have never been disappointed by Sushi Langford. Good food, good management. An unbeatable combination during tough economic times.

Excellent quality, excellent service, atmosphere is fairly good. I don’t mind paying extra for good quality sushi but it’s still too expensive. $45 for 2 dishes after tax and tip is just too much. I know I ordered sashimi but it was $20 and that’s more than some really high end places I’ve been. It’s okay to be very expensive but then the experience needs to be mind blowing.

Had a great experience. The portions were way too small for what we paid but the flavors were there and it was great quality. Service was friendly and quick. Recommend eating here for sure just a bit underwhelming for me.

We really enjoyed our lunch combos here! The sushi combo came with a delicious variety of nigiri and a perfectly balanced bowl of miso soup. The beef teriyaki lunch was equally satisfying and also included soup. Portion sizes are generous, and the staff is always friendly and welcoming. We’re regulars for a reason—the tuna and salmon sashimi, beautifully presented on a bowl of ice, is absolutely amazing.

This was a pretty nice place, very classy vibes inside. Service was pretty good although we did have to wait quite a while and ask again for our drinks. The food was pretty good and was reasonably priced.

Simply awesome. I'm surprised that this restaurant offers more traditional Vietnamese dishes than Pho and Vermicelli. I especially enjoyed their Bo Kho. The beef had melt-in-mouth level of tenderness and was super flavourful. Their sausage summer rolls were super pretty and tasted fantastic as well. Surprisingly, the sausages were rather sweet. Definitely coming back for more.

First time here. It's a decent location, and the food was tasty and fresh. The soup was especially tasty. We ordered #45, #31, and a Vietnamese coffee.

The food was really great. Amazing portions and variety. I had a virgin Pina Colada that was DELICIOUS!

Unfortunately, after coming back a couple of times, I have to update this review. The service and atmosphere are good, and even with the weird parking setup, everything else is fine. However, as you can see from these pictures, unless it’s Pho, the food is not as good as it used to be at their previous location or the downtown one. This fish had zero seasoning—not even salt—and the vegetables on the side were completely plain. I had to ask for fish sauce. What was supposed to be a sizzling dish looked and tasted like something that had been boiled with lots of garlic instead. On a prior visit, I noticed that instead of using vermicelli, they are now just using regular noodles. While this might seem like a minor change, it’s disappointing because we expect rice noodles with our dishes.

The food is great, with generous serving sizes and lots of different options to choose from. The service was optimal. Will come again.

Food is decent but horrible service. We sat down and did not get served. We were the only ones there so it wasn't busy at all. After I politely signalled to the waiter, he said "I'll be right back" and did not come back for another 10 minutes until I called out to him again. Overall seemed like he was trying to make power moves to feel good about himself. He was very visibly upset when I gave a lower tip for the rude service.

Went late this afternoon for early dinner first time trying it; heard the one downtown was good so gave this a go! The building is old and really needs a major face lift but the food was totally amazing wife had the 37 crispy noodles with prawns and veggies I had the traditional chicken Vietnamese sub sandwich and it was delicious! Ordered the deep fried tofu and it was amazing fresh ginger and onion in a nice sauce. They make their own hot chili sauce; the service was good. They are closing this one and moving to Colwood corners. Would love to go back and try the many menu items food was fresh and delicious! A+

I called in advance, ended up dining in. The staff were quick to offer me a fresh glass of water with ice. Food was very fresh, I loved the seared tuna sashimi, tataka tuna. Spring rolls are good, thicker batter, nice and moist. Edamame was good too 🫛. Love the passion in the name. Good spot for sushi.

My first time here after being strongly recommended this was the best sushi spot in Langford. It did NOT disappoint! Super fresh, delicious and great presentation. We got gyozas, a variety tray of classic sushi, crazy boy and crazy girl rolls which were fantastic and a few other things. These guys were busy which is a great sign. And still the staff was super friendly and let us hang out for a while chatting. 100% recommend giving this place a try. I’ll be back to try more stuff for sure.

The assorted tempura is magic. They use thick pieces of veg and must double fry it because it is very substantial. It is so deliciously dense that if the Circle K was being robbed, I could throw my tempura like ninja stars at the bad guys to knock them out. Then hopefully get another container of it because it’s so good.

Amazing sushi — super fresh, flavorful, and beautifully made. The staff were friendly and the atmosphere was cozy. Definitely one of my new favorite spots!

Staff was punctual and organized, even when dealing with a high volume of customers. Very good value as well! Only thing that was not enjoyable was the spicy mayo. Usually I love it! But my roll was absolutely drenched in it. Also, the spicy mayo was not spicy at all, maybe ideal for some? There was also a strange sweetness to it that didn’t do it any favors. I really wanted to like this place and left slightly disappointed. Didn’t want to give a lower review because the staff are truly kind people.

I have ordered from this place constantly for the past year and a half and I have been trying different things on their menu each time. I have never once been disappointed in the quality, presentation, or taste that the food they preset offers. My wife is Japanese and hasn’t had proper Japanese made food from home in over 2 years and she loves this place and describes the feel of the food like “home”. The price compared to other places is great as the portion size relative to the cost is very much worth it. If you haven’t eaten here before I HIGHLY recommend it

Don't be scared off by the location! My fave sushi spot in the Westshore hands down. Very fresh fish, great filling/rice ratio, and they don't slather everything in mayo which seems to be the new weird trend. Very reasonably priced which is hard to find in Victoria and always prompt pickup times. Try it out for yourself!

Amazing food. Could not stop enjoying the ribs and spicy bi bimbap - OMG just so delicious Plus they have a cool Korean Soju and Wine Flight. Highly recommended. Sorry - only empty bowl to show because it was too good to sit for a pic.

I can't I haven't been here until now. I definitely missed Korean food. It is nice to get Korean food with great price and quantity. Customer service was great. No complaints there. Cass beer with $5 price tag is great! Very happy with my dinner. I will be back!

So, I perused my map pins for something to try that was close to where I need to be next and ended up at Persimmon Tree Restaurant. I've been to a few Korean places in many cities (but none in Korea) and do really enjoy the food. We had the Bibim Bap, the Gochujang Beef Noodle, and the Deep Fried Shrimp dumplings. All of the dishes tasted great. I'm only sad I didn't have space for the spicy soft tofu soup! It is truly one of my favorites. A very nice spot to have lunch. We were greeted by a most friendly host. There is a tasting menu for lunch with bulgogi or a vegetarian option. The bulgogi tasting menu came with a vegetable dumpling, a shrimp dumpling, a Korean pancake japchae, and some kimchi. All were very delicious - for $19. Will be back to try the short ribs!

My husband and I visited this restaurant for lunch and it was AMAZING. This is definitely a place you can go for a GOOD quality Korean food which there are not many on the island. The parking lot is huge so it was nice. The restaurant was very spacious and CLEAN and the pleasant welcome from the staff was really nice. We ordered some appetizers and Jjambong(seafood noodles) and the famous Korean chicken. I LOVED jjambong! The portion was great and it wasnt too spicy. The Korean chicken was so yummy as well and it came with the salad on the side. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone and we are definitely coming back.

Update on June 8th: Finally got a chance to dine in. The service was amazingly friendly, and had more option than online menu or delivery app. Also the store inside was nice and bright, had a large table in the middle that can accommodate more than 6 people. ========================== I've been trying to order their food on skip, but their hours of operation on skip are very inconsistent. I was addicted to ordering their pork soft tofu soup, salty and spicy with a hint of sweetness, the best dish in my opinion. But after the pandemic, I think they cut the portion. The savoury seafood pancake tastes good too, and the waiter is very attentive to mark the sauce. However, there is not much seafood in it, and most of the pancakes are chives. Have ordered bibimbap too, amazing taste, hope to try it again next time I see them open on skip.

I got take out, so that's why I gave a 4 for the atmosphere, although it is a very clean place! David is providing personal recipes of Korean classics and his own take on his South Korean culture. I got the boneless chicken, and it was delicious with the perfect sweet and spicy. I will be back!

Not the Noodle Box of yesteryear?? This place has gone progressively down hill as new owners take over. This was the last visit for me and my family. Everything we ordered was drowned in sugary watery sauce? Asked for medium spice level and no spices were present?? Just sweetened rice. My chicken wasn’t crispy, just frozen chicken balls. My wife’s order came as a soup, not a chowmein? It’s a real shame!

This was our first time ordering food online from this Westshore location. Unfortunately, Highly disappointed to see the quantity of the ‘Spicy Peanut Bowls’ but well below as per the standards of Noodlebox compared to other locations in town. You can literally see the bottom of the bowls even, though the food was delicious!

Incredibly disappointed. Ordered the pad Thai with chicken, and not only did it take a long time to make but it was awful. Chicken was so overcooked it was dry and mealy. Noodles were fine but there was no sauce, which is bizarre, so they were incredibly dry and sticky as well. Easily 1/4th the amount of vegetables than what I used to expect from NB 5+ years ago. Would not recommend.

I've been going to this location off and on for years since the day it opened after tonight. I will never go back tonight.I ordered the usual spicy peanut with extra cilantro, as you'll see in the picture, it said no cilantro, as I was walking out the door I realized that I said no, so when I went back to the counter and asked why no cilantro, she claimed, I asked for that which I did not I told her I asked for extra cilantro, so she took the box, went to the end of the kitchen for a a few seconds and then came back and said it was fixed. I asked if it was in all in the box. She said, no, when I opened it, as you'll see in the picture was the few little sprigs that were put on, and I paid for extra cilantro, and they also charged me for a black bag, which I didn't ask for a bag. I was hand taking it out. My wife ordered drunken noodle with extra veg. No ginger and in the picture, you'll see what it says.She got very little veg and it says, no garlic, we asked why you said no garlic, the answer was that the ginger and garlic were combined, so that's why they didn't put in any garlic in all the years that I've been going to noodlebox since the 1st day it came to the lower island I have been to every location and not one of them has told me. That the ginger and garlic are together. They are both separate.So now that we tried them with the alternate taste, i will not be back to that location. What I complained they just shrug their shoulders at me. Some people will try and say it was a language barrier, that is not an excuse. I don't care where you come from. So if you're working in the food industry. You shouldn't be able to understand simple english when taking someone's order for a meal that they request. And so in Reading other reviews, it seems this restaurant is almost at the bottom. I we'll no longer be going to this restaurant. At least the one in victoria and Duncan. Still served correct meals when ordered you, and the fact that they charged me for a bag, which I never use and extra stuff that I never got as to my frustration and attitude towards this business. I see you answered me the same as you answered everybody else with the email, well I did and nothing you done about that. So it's kinda useless to say the same message to everyone that complains because you can't take care of your business, you don't deserve to continue running if thats all that happens and the service is still crap.

I bought 2 teriyaki boxes a couple days ago, and I got a big surprise when I got home. The boxes were only 3/4 full which it never happened before. I called the restaurant, and I was told that my boxes were only 3/4 full because I didn’t have protein in them. I have been a fan of Noodlebox for more than 25 years. I’m not impressed with the leadership of that Langford location, I will not step foot in that restaurant EVER. Keep in mind that this location is under new management. Oh, one of the manager hung up on me.

We ordered two medium and one mild but we ended up three medium and three of them were without sauce!!! Disappointing

This Place is so Bad at portions, I paid for extra double chicken and extra sauce and ask to separate the rice and the curry chicken and didn’t get any of those im so disappointed because I waste money and waited hungry and this is what I get, and I called this store and talked to a girl to make sure that it’s extra and separate the rice and curry chicken to different box and they didn’t follow what I ask for. I’m so disappointed

I ordered house special fried rice. The portion was big and there were shrimp, BBQ pork & chicken. It tasted good and is affordable. Highly recommend. Just a reminder, you can just order takeout.

Asian Noodle House is one of the best Chinese takeout spots in Langford! The food is always delicious and fresh, and the owner and staff are such a pleasure to deal with — friendly, fast, and welcoming. Definitely our go-to for takeout!

Worst pad thai I've ever had. It's not actually pad thai as there were no peanuts or proper sauce, just noodles and veggies. Also, i asked for spicy and there was no spice at all. Will never order from there again. Service was impersonal, too fast to be of any quality and atmosphere bordering on atrocious.

My favorite Chinese restaurant in Colwood area. Delivery is available after 5pm. Regularly order food from them, extremely tasty, and great portions. The owner is very friendly, they usually insanely busy, so they might have a not too good attitude and tone on the phone. Better order food during their slow hours, otherwise needs to wait for 20mins. But everything is worth to try.

Best Chinese food in all of Vancouver Island! Always fresh, high quality ingredients, and great value. Must try the Won ton soup, keeps us coming back every time! They also have a steak sauce similar to Japanese village/Azuma that is worth a try. Definitely a hidden gem.

Unbelievable! So impressed with the fresh crispy vegetables, the tender chicken , & what a surprise - we ordered sweet & sour chicken & expected deep fried crappy balls , but we got real tender chicken & vegetables. We also requested extra bean sprouts on the chowmein & were pleasantly surprised to see it wasn't just 5! This seriously was the best Chinese food we have had in years! They deserve a huge shout out!

We had an amazing dinner we had delivered. The veggies are fresh , cashew chicken and sweet and sour chicken were great , we asked for extra bean Sprouts on the chow mein and they loaded it up, didn't just put a few on top like others. It was one of the best Asian dinner I have ever had. Thank you!

We ordered takeout from $200 for a large group and had very high hopes because of the reviews. The food was very greasy and very thickly covered in coating. The sweet-and-sour chicken balls I think they forgot the chicken. I will never order from there again

Went in with a friend and his gf and was confident it would be good given the reviews. The drinks we ordered tasted like nothing, basically just water. When we ordered the food, they came out with dirty dishes and decided to opt out of our order, the lady did not like it, we left and still left $20, was followed outside and as I was about to drive away she came and slammed my car door.

Ordered the 4 person dinner and paid $55 with the tip. The chomping had no flavor and tasted like butter noodles. The house rice had shrimp in it which I didn't order and the beef broccoli was just beef and celery.... the only thing that was good was the prawns

I've been eating this food for a very long time. Saturday night the power was out but luckily GLR still had power. Order a dinner for 4 and waited in the parking lot for it. Normally I do not expect a lot from take out, any take out but they did it up right and it was great. Thanks Gold Lion.

Of all the Chinese food places I've visited from the island to Metro Vancouver and Fraser Valley, this place is by far the best. Salt and pepper prawns have chili pepper (not black pepper) and we were talking about them the next day they were so good. Wonton soup is also amazing, large portion size great for sharing with a group.

Been going here for years. Great staff. Fast service. Good food. If you eat in they sure make you feel like family. Love supporting this run family business.

Our favorite place for Vietnamese! The Pho is fantastic, all the meat dishes are super tasty, especially the lemongrass chicken and the grilled pork! My favorite soup is the crab, very unique and delicious! They balance the flavors nicely, nothing too sweet or too salty, but still full of flavor. Definitely recommend!

Me and my boyfriend came here and it was our first time! Staff are so friendly, food is really good, atmosphere is nice. The service is quick and we got our food super fast and everything was delicious. We’ve been looking for a good pho 🍜 place since we moved to Vancouver island and this is definitely our new go to It’s a bit pricy but the quantity is large and very filling. I would say though after thinking about it the price is good for how much we ate! It was a bit loud but not so loud that we couldn’t talk or hear one another! Which is good 😊 We both left super full after sharing both the chicken pho, and the chicken lemongrass rice and fried tofu alongside the two smoothies I recommend Lychee and Banana 🍌

A hidden gem serving elevated Vietnamese street food with heart! The creamy snails, mango shrimp salad, and baby clams were bold, fresh, and beautifully balanced. The pho was exceptional — rich, aromatic broth with just the right heat and freshness in every spoonful. Warm, authentic atmosphere and standout service made the experience unforgettable. Refined, flavorful, and absolutely worth the visit — 10/10!

We always have a wonderful time when we eat here! The Vietnamese cuisine is top-notch – everything tastes incredibly fresh and delicious, and I especially love their diverse and flavorful vegan options. What really sets this place apart is the team; the staff are so friendly, attentive, and genuinely engaging, creating such a welcoming atmosphere. It's also excellent value for money, and you absolutely have to try their refreshing coconut juice drink!

The BEST Vietnamese food outside of Vietnam! We have been to various Vietnamese restaurants in BC and nowhere that we have found, compares to Original Pho! We had #14 rare steak pho (add broccoli) and as an appetizer had the shrimp and pork salad rolls! The portions are massive! If you haven’t been come check it out.

First meal with a new friend and we went for the classic safe choice when you’re not sure what to eat. Personally, I think it tastes better than Green Leaf! Here’s to many more meals together in the future!☺️

Food was delicious. Rice tasted great. However. This was my first visit and there was only 5 pieces of fried pork. Basically the 3 pieces you see on top and only 2 more under the veggies. I paid $20 for this. I won't be back. You get one shot and then I love it and stay or move on. Ill take my business elsewhere. Dang shame cause it was tasty.

Nice little restaurant, the food is pretty decent. Lots of fresh veggies in homemade style of food. The hot and sour soup is my favourite dish here, packs a punch.

We got take out and ordered Ginger Beef, Sweet & Sour Pork, Shrimp Fried Rice, Spring Rolls, and some veggies. The Beef and Pork were fried to perfection and thry even packed the sauces separately so that they won't get soggy! The fried rice was also delicious and the shrimps were so plump and seemed to be fresh! Lastly, the spring rolls and veggies acted like the perfect final addition to our delicious meal! To summarize, we loved the food and wjll be back!

Thought we would give them a try. The breaded almond chicken was just great and not many restaurants offer this anymore. The beef and broccoli were very good but please-----more beef and less broccoli. We will be back.

Adequate for fast"ish" Chinese food to curb your cravings! Prices are kind of high, but seems to be the case everywhere these days. The salt and pepper pork was delicious! Chow mein had great flavor and spice. This place met my expectations and I'd pop in here again for some takeout.

Food is good when you got a craving. I like the wonton, could have a little more flavour to the broth but love the wontons! People who own it are very nice and best service!

Good quality and very affordable! There is no longer a sign over the door and the door was propped open with a fan. The food was delicious and the prices were unbelievable. I had the lunch combo b and it was amazing. The tuna on the cowboy roll was fresh and delicious. We were the only ones in for lunch and service was fine but there was only one person taking orders and cooking. If you're in a rush I doubt this place is for you. I would definitely eat here again but only if I wasn't in a rush.

We tried Maiko Sushi once for takeout and won’t be back. First off, the door looked locked so we weren’t even sure it was open. Turns out it was, but we basically had to shoulder our way in as the owner yelled something at us from across the restaurant. Inside the atmosphere isn’t great. One guy working alone, very abrupt and abrasive. While we waited for him to take our order, a couple of other customers came in and were treated just as unpleasantly. Then he shouted from the back for us to shout our order to him. He told us it’d be about 35 minutes, so we went out to do something else. Came back, and it still wasn’t ready, it took nearly an hour in total. The food itself is fine. Nothing wrong with it, but nothing memorable either. Definitely not worth the spirit crushing interaction. Honestly just go to Sushi-ya up the road on Goldstream Ave instead. Way friendlier, much better energy, and the sushi’s delicious. That’s where we’ll be going from now on.

This has been my absolute favourite place to get sushi ever since I was a little girl. I remember when the place was ran by both Brian and his wife and it was always so lovely to come and order from them. I have yet to find another sushi place that I like better and I’ve constantly recommended Maiko to people. I’m so grateful that Brian has kept the business open throughout the years because if he were to close down, the city would be losing an absolute gem.

If you’re looking for fresh (and super cheap) sushi, incredible miso soup, and a side order of emotional whiplash, then Maiko Sushi is the spot for you. Hidden behind a dimly lit “SUSHI” sign that looks like it’s on life support, this restaurant offers a dining experience that is equal parts delicious and deeply bewildering. When my family of 5 and I walked in, there was no music, no vibe, and no sign of life — except a lone man who peeked out from behind a curtain, silently motioning for us to sit. It felt like he was very annoyed we were there. The man (chef? owner?) clearly runs the entire operation solo. He seemed mildly offended by our existence but committed to feeding us anyway. When we hesitated on our order, his visible annoyance was palpable. He didn’t take a drink order and later informed us that our order was “too big” for individual plates, so it would arrive on one massive communal platter “because faster.” Fair enough. My dad had to ask for side plates; the man huffed, disappeared, and returned with exactly one of the tiniest side plates in existence and dropped it in front of my dad without a word. At this point, we were giggling uncontrollably, convinced we were on a hidden-camera show. Halfway through, a group of three entered the empty restaurant. The man emerged, declared “No, I’m busy. Come back in 45–50 minutes,” and sent them away. Later, my brother committed the cardinal sin of trying to politely get his attention by poking his head into the back and was met with a furious “GET OUT! YOU CAN’T BE IN HERE!” complete with what we assume was some expressive swearing in his native tongue. My brother returned to the table like a beaten child. Despite everything — or maybe because of it — we had a fun time. The sushi was delicious, the tea (served 45 minutes late and hot enough to melt steel) was memorable, and the whole experience was the kind of family bonding money can’t buy. Would I go back? Maybe… but only with people I love deeply or those I wish mild suffering upon. Would I recommend it? Absolutely — to my enemies, or anyone who enjoys their dinner with a side of chaos and laughter.

I love the attention to details at Maiko. The food is simple, authentic, and very very fresh. The prices are also super affordable. Props to the chef running the show, you can tell that there is a lot of love and care that goes into his food!

Love the location and the fountain drinks available. Restaurant itself was bright and clean. Portions were really small (pictured is the sumo sized daily deal) and it was about what I get at other locations but with somehow less vegetables.

Food is consistently excellent. I order from this restaurant regularly on Skip The Dishes, this was the first time I'd had the opportunity to go in person. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Food was fast and hot. Really enjoyed my time and meal here. Wow!

Had the chicken teriyaki bento box meal with two spring rolls and a four piece California roll for my sides plus a fountain drink for lunch today. All the food was hot and fresh made to order. Service was top notch with my food being delivered to my table by a smiling front counter staff. She also checked on me during my meal which you rarely get at other fast food restaurants. If you want a fast fresh flavourful meal for a reasonable price I highly recommend Edo Japan - Belmont Market. Five star rating across the board! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My online order was messed up twice. I even spoke to the manager and asked for things like cutlery. Nothing was in the bag. All I got a was sorry for that. Waste of time and money.
