Coogee Common is an upscale farm-to-table restaurant located on the historic Coogee Hotel site, built in 1894. The restaurant offers a modern menu with a focus on seasonal produce, much of which is grown in their extensive veggie gardens. The connection to the produce is reflected in their dishes, such as scallop ceviche with raw turnip and coastal herbs from the springtime menu, and mushroom tagliatelle with ricotta made using garden greens.
What an amazing dining experience! You are welcomed by a beautiful exterior - full of green and bushes, then invited to a beautiful interior with high stable like structure with elegant decor. All the dishes we ordered tasted so fresh and you can actually see them prep the meals. The organic chicken was so perfectly tender and the sauces were amazing. We also could not get enough of their organic wood fired bread! Will definitely be back to try their other dishes!

Oh man, everything about our dining experience was amazing.. We came for an early Mother’s Day dinner. The food, for starters! Every mouth full of food we ordered was mouth watering - we ordered bread & butter to start, then the thigh chicken (heaven), we then ordered the gnocchi and prawns.. I could not stop saying Mmmmmmhmm 😆😭 The chocolate fondant of course was also amazing, and our waitress was a kind soul too. We will definitely be back 💛

My friend was visiting Perth and came across this restaurant through some local recommendations. The place was beautifully styled yet felt cozy and warm at the same time, so we instantly felt at ease. The handmade frames were really beautiful, and the door that looked out onto the garden felt like a frame overflowing with green. When we were shown to our table, everything was neatly set up, and even the wine list looked beautiful. The food overall was clean and well-balanced. Rather than being bold or flashy, it felt like the dishes focused on humble ingredients and a natural taste. It was a great experience.

Went here on Sunday and had a fantastic experience. The food was amazing, the staff were warm and welcoming, and the venue itself is top class. Be sure to take a walk around the gardens — they really capture the ethos of the place. Highly recommend if you’re after fresh, high-quality food at a fair price.
Conor O — Google review
The seafood was so fresh and perfectly prepared. The scallops were phenomenal. The goldband snapper was also amazing. The venue is beautifully surrounded by gardens producing seasonal ingredients for the kitchen. It makes a stunning view and 5 star food. The service is friendly and attentive. Would recommend for a special occasion. The sunday roast looked very popular with other diners
Cara M — Google review
Such a beautiful place, we went at dinner time so we weren’t able to see the garden unfortunately - but the food was delightful anyway. Miso Kohlrabi was a major standout, so was the lamb with miso and ice plant. Flavours were always a blast to enjoy with each dish, atmosphere was extremely cozy, and what a wonderful and gentle waitress that cared for all of our questions and needs to top that all off. Lovely dining experience here. My family’s obsessed with the bread.
Valerie K — Google review
Lovely place to enjoy for lunch. Everything was beautiful except for the portion size was too small for the price. Everything in the pic cost over $100. But I’ll go back again.
Zoe — Google review
I don’t usually leave negative reviews, but given how much I’ve enjoyed Coogee Common in the past, today’s experience (for my 40th birthday) was a real disappointment. The restaurant was clearly understaffed, with just one waitress and one bar staff trying to manage a busy service. The waitress was doing her absolute best, but it was obvious she was overwhelmed. We watched hot meals sit on the counter going cold, which at this price point, or any, just isn’t acceptable. It took a long time to even place our order because we felt guilty pulling her away when she was already so stretched. When the food did arrive, it sadly didn’t live up to expectations. The gnocchi was bland, missing a key element of the dish, and easily one of the least enjoyable meals I’ve had in some time. To their credit, the dish was removed from the bill without us even asking. The chips weren’t hot either, but I was so hungry I ate them all. We enjoyed the bread and my husband said the scallops were okay, but that’s about it. While I truly sympathise with the staff doing their best under difficult circumstances, the overall experience was disappointing. Coogee Common no longer feels like the place it once was, and I’d recommend giving it a miss for now.

Bar & grill
Rockpool Bar & Grill Perth, located in the Crown complex, is a top-notch steakhouse offering an elegant dining experience. The restaurant boasts an open kitchen where prime beef is grilled over wood fire and fresh seafood is roasted in a charcoal-fueled oven. With over 1350 wines to choose from, it's a haven for wine enthusiasts. Signature dishes like steak bearnaise and creamy potato gratin are served alongside dressed salads that perfectly complement the main courses.
From the moment we arrived, everything was flawless — the service, the ambiance, and of course, the food. Every dish was prepared to perfection, with incredible attention to detail and the highest quality ingredients. The steaks were melt-in-your-mouth amazing, and the wine list was exceptional. The staff were knowledgeable, attentive, and made us feel truly special. Dining here felt like a celebration in itself. Highly recommend for a memorable night out — it’s world-class in every way!

Date night! What's the special occasion? " The kids are at a sleep over". Quality time & food with the one is priceless. The food was top notch for sure (although the best steak was sold out - late booking four hours earlier), the experience was amazing (definitely embroided in the memory banks). Well presented and friendly staff. Had a standout evening indeed and can't wait for the next experience.

I have been to Rockpool a few times over the years and the meals have always been exceptional. Everything from the bread and butter to the mains and desserts are delicious. Dry aged steaks are their specialty and while they aren't cheap, you definitely get what you pay for. The service here has always been very good and I've rarely had to try to get a waiters attention as they have been on top of their game and very attentive. The atmosphere and vibes are quite nice. The entrance hallway to the restaurant has great lighting and a number of windows where you can view the cold rooms where the dry aged cuts are stored.

From the moment we walked in, it was clear we were in for something special. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between elegant and inviting. The food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Each dish was well prepared and the ingredients were clearly fresh and thoughtfully combined. Service was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. Great food, great service, and a great overall vibe. Highly recommended!

It was my friends birthday, we had a fabulous time. Everything was fantastic. Food and wine was just so delicious. That was my third time visiting, it was my friends first time and they truly enjoyed it!! Thank you I will be back to visit again.
Laura B — Google review
I recently dined at Rockpool for my birthday dinner and found the food to be absolutely delicious. The dimly lit atmosphere created a pleasant ambiance, which I appreciated. The service was generally good; however, I was disappointed that they did not acknowledge our special occasion with a complimentary dessert or cake slice or something special, despite noting in the booking that it was a “celebration dinner.” Rockpool typically offers this, so it was a bit surprising. Other than that, everything else was great.
Natalie Y — Google review
I really like the food, however, for the price, I have had better for cheaper. I’m not saying it is bad, but for the price I was expecting more. The octopus was very nice, the ceviche was perfect, but what is that size!? Extremely small. The scallop was missing flavour… the dessert was delicious, the mango sorbet with the champagne was absolutely divine. The sip so brazil cocktail was divine, the bs margarita does not worth $30 The service was absolutely amazing! And the touch from the host bringing me the birthday cake even no one remembered to do so was a nice surprise. I don’t think it was worth the price.
Renata F — Google review
Went there on Friday night to treat ourselves. The service is excellent, but the food is just alright. We ordered a dry aged medium cooked steak, duck breast, scallops and a couple of sides. The fat of the steak is not rendered properly and is hard to chew, the roasted potatoes are a bit tough on the outside, but all the rest is pretty good. Total bill comes to AUD 280+. All in all, not so worth the price.

Fusion restaurant
Nobu is a renowned restaurant located in the Crown Perth complex, offering a luxurious dining experience with stunning skyline views and a sophisticated bar. The establishment, led by legendary chef Nobu Matsuhisa, presents reimagined Japanese-Peruvian cuisine that continues to impress patrons with visually striking and delectable dishes. Known for its opulent setting and upscale ambiance, Nobu is often frequented for special occasions and celebrations.
Had a dinner at Nobu Perth yesterday - as always, the service was excellent, just as it has been every time we’ve visited over the years. The team is consistently professional, attentive, and welcoming, which makes the experience feel special every time. Yes, the food is a little on the expensive side and portions can be small but that’s more than balanced by the uniqueness of the dishes, the quality of ingredients and the exceptional service. Every visit feels like a treat. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a top quality dining experience in Perth.

Hands down the best Japanese food in Perth! Every dish is full of authentic flavours, beautifully presented, and made with the freshest ingredients. The highlight for me was definitely the oysters. Absolutely the best I’ve had in Perth, so fresh and perfectly prepared. Service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend for anyone looking for top-quality Japanese dining.

Nobu Perth was a great experience for lunch! Food was exceptional. Very quick and professional. Omakase set menu. Very filling and everything was to die for. The dishes came out very quick. Every single bite was a flavour explosion. A culinary experience at its finest, special thanks to Christina for the professionalism and warm vibes she gave. A+ 10/10

Was recommended by a lot of people to eat here. A good friend brought me here for dinner. And I know why it’s recommended by many after trying. The Japanese food was awesome and it was very fresh. My favourite would be the Cod fish, it’s so soft and tender, melts in your mouth. In terms of pricing, it could be pricey but definitely worthwhile to pamper yourself once in a while.

My expectations were high and yet this incredible dinner exceeded them! Luckily for me my friend's date had to cancel quite last minute so I was her understudy and will always remember it. Everything was absolutely sensational. The service, the large variety of dishes we shared (The Yellowtail Sashimi was a highlight), the wine, the service, the ambience. Perfection. A very special treat.
Angelique L — Google review
The service wasn’t bad - nothing special to be honest. We had the omakase signature The first 4 courses were very tasty! Wasn’t a fan of the miso cod and the striploin - bit too salty and too many flavours (I prefer stake and fish on its own or with minimal added flavours if it’s a main course) but that’s personal preference I guess… The atmosphere was okay The price felt expensive considering these things Giving a generous 4 stars just for the first 4 dishes 👌
Ewan R — Google review
I dined at Nobu Perth on my last night visiting from Melbourne and it was the perfect way to end my trip. The food was absolutely incredible and the service was just as impressive. Emily behind the bar was so warm, accommodating, and genuinely lovely, she made the whole experience feel special and made me some killer cocktails. The atmosphere and vibes were spot-on too. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Perth!
Jessica H — Google review
Honestly, Nobu truly is the best value for buck for the high end restaurants. Flavours absolutely punching your mouth with every bite. An incredibly vast menu which accommodates everyone's preferences, ontop of having some really unique dishes (kangaroo new style sashimi, snow crab ponzu and the wagyu carpaccio quail egg are insanely delicious). The service really is second to none, as it should be with the price you're paying, and the atmosphere is busy but still quiet enough where you can enjoy your company. 10/10 👏

Thai restaurant
Restaurant
Long Chim, located at St Georges Terrace in Perth, is a popular Thai restaurant known for its flavorful dishes and vibrant atmosphere. The restaurant, founded by celebrity chef David Thompson, offers a fusion of Bangkok street food and tropical cocktails. With its raucous yet inviting ambiance, Long Chim provides an exciting dining experience that showcases the best of Thai cuisine. Guests can expect to savor a variety of shared plates bursting with bold flavors and may even catch a glimpse of the renowned chef himself during their visit.
Its been ages since I gave 5 stars. But the tiger prawns were cooked to perfection. The sauce that came with the prawns were simply amazing. So much that i ate all the red onion, chili and cucumber. Chicken wings are dime a dozen, every other place has it. But the chicken wings were just cooked right, it was tender and juicy and the light soy sauce was just perfect to compliment everything. Such a sinple dish, but cooked to perfection takes skills. I am so impressed !!! Nita was really helpful with the menu items and even gave me little fun facts about this restaurant.
Biohazard — Google review
First time here for a quick lunch after recommendation from our son. Staff was great and ambiance is nice. Parking can be challenging for this part of town. Food came very timely for a 1hr expensive park. Curry fish - broth has depth without being heavy. Fish was cooked well. A very delicious plate of food. Can be spicy for some. Fish cakes - a great side, serious heat but nicely balanced with the sweet dressing and cucumber. Skewer lamb - Too much fat/too little lean meat. As the fat was not rendered enough, the dish was largely inedible. Staff was good enough to take it off the bill. Overall it was a positive outing despite the total fail for the lamb. I still don't get why Thai cuisines are significantly more pricey than others in Perth regardless of location; I struggle with the value proposition in general.
Andrew — Google review
Arrived on time and after a little wait, we were greeted and after another little wait were told our table wasn’t ready. A more senior staff member took control of the table wait situation and we were then shown to our table which had been ready. After that, the service was excellent, fast and attentive. We had the Chang Mai chicken larp and Som Tum to start with. The larp is considerably hot, like super hot. Be aware. But lots of flavour and well presented. Som Tum is always nice and this one didn’t disappoint. We washed our starters down with cocktails..combo of Mai Thai and classic margaritas. We then moved onto mains and shared fried rice with crab meat, noodles with beef, pork curry and grilled king fish. Thoroughly enjoyed, tons of flavours and well balanced. We then shared roti and banana and black sticky rice with coconut. The roti was amazing…I wanted to lick the plate. Atmosphere pretty good, good times playing and the Treasury never disappoints, just a beautiful space.
Lou F — Google review
cocktails were good and the food was edible. we had the chicken starter (4/5) which was pretty good. crab fried rice was just okay (3/5), missing wok hei which you would expect at an authentic thai restaurant. unfortunately the veg curry and soft shell crab noodles were incredibly sweet and weren’t balanced at all (2/5 at best). the service was acceptable (had to wait a while for a table even though there were plenty available) and the restaurant was really loud on a weeknight, you pretty much need to shout to hear each other across the table.
Shawn L — Google review
Been coming here for years, easily the best traditional Thai food you will find in the state/ if not country. Unfortunately what drags it down is the service. Staff always insist that you sit next to another occupied table. This is despite other tables being available across the venue (which are not reserved). Guess they are going for that crowded Bangkok experience. Be prepared o wait up to 15min for your first drink/food order.
Dr D — Google review
We had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. There were two of us, and we ordered the set menu. Since we didn’t have a reservation, our dining time was quite limited — yet the service was slow, which made the whole meal feel rushed. In the end, we even had to take our dessert to go. The entrees were fine, but the mains were far too salty, especially the chicken and the fish. Ironically, the best dish of the night turned out to be the snap beans. The only highlight was the male staff member who served our cocktails — he was genuinely friendly and attentive. However, the worst part came later. Around midnight, I started feeling sick and ended up vomiting. I can’t be 100% sure if it was caused by something from the restaurant or by the street food outside (since it was their anniversary event and we also had some snacks there), but either way, it completely ruined the night. Overall, for a fine dining restaurant, the experience was quite underwhelming — definitely not up to the standard it aims for.
毕凡 — Google review
I liked the food and drinks, particularly the veggie rolls and the roast duck. The thai milk tea was good too. We were sat in the patio, which was nice and quiet, so we could converse easily. Our waiter was perfectly friendly and helpful, but forgot about us after bringing the main dishes, so we had dessert elsewhere.
Seetrg B — Google review
We were visiting and my friend was able to make a reservation last minute on a Friday night at this place. It was quite lively and a bit loud, but that was understandable given it was the weekend crowd. There was a bit of a wait before we got our orders, though I didn’t mind too much since I was meeting an old friend—it gave us time to catch up. As for the food, it was decent but didn’t quite hit the mark in terms of authenticity. You can tell they’ve tweaked some of the flavors to suit a more general palate. The portions were on the smaller side for the price, which made it feel a little pricey overall. All in all, it was an okay experience—not bad, but not something I’d rush back for either

Pub

Restaurant
The Royal Perth is a charming 1882 pub located in the heart of Perth city, overlooking Yagan Square. The heritage-listed watering hole offers a modern and stylish atmosphere with a balcony that provides stunning views. The menu features elevated pub classics such as burgers and salads, along with a variety of local and international beers, wines, and spirits. Additionally, the establishment hosts enticing specials on Wednesdays and Thursdays including feature burgers and chicken schnitzel at affordable prices.
The Royal Perth has a fantastic rustic atmosphere with unique decor that gives it real character. It’s the kind of place that feels both cozy and lively, perfect for a relaxed meal or a few drinks. Food The French Dip was phenomenal—hands down the best I’ve ever had. The beef was rich and flavorful, and the freshly made flatbread was the perfect pairing. A flawless 5/5. The Caesar Salad also impressed. My wife, who takes her salads seriously, said it was the best she’s ever had. The dressing was well-balanced, and the crunch was just right. Her only critique? A bit more egg would have made it perfect. Still, an easy 5/5. Drinks The beer selection was good, but for an English-style pub, I expected more variety, including some classic UK options. Most choices leaned Australian, which is fine but left me wanting more. Solid, but 4/5. The peach cocktail was a hit. A perfect balance of sweet and sour with just the right amount of gin to give it a nice kick. A strong 4.5/5. Overall Amazing food, great drinks, and a welcoming vibe. Just a little more beer variety, and it’d be perfect. 4.5/5.

We did the private dining room experience, 10 people. 2 courses, $65. Exceptional value. Point of difference was the table service and ordering drinks; guests paid for each drink with the eftpos terminal at the table. Avoiding splitting the bill at the end of the night was the best.

Caution: this photo is from the restaurant called Alba cross the road from this place. And I don’t have current photo of what they served me as I didn’t have time to take pics. Alba charges 44bucks for steak of 250g. And this place charges 42bucks for the same size steak with chips. Unfortunately this place has significantly substandard. Meat was way too thin to cook medium rare that I requested. Definitely not worth 42bucks in any aspect. Mine last night came out as medium well if that(no pink bit), too thin, any chef couldn’t make medium rare with that thickness. I have never returned food back to the kitchen in my life but I had to. The management gave me free of charge after cooking again for me, however my friends all finished their dinner by the time my meal came out. I took it home in the paper container. Ruined my dinner and I won’t come back for dinner here. Good place for beer though. A lot of room to improve.

The Royal is one of those places that just stole my heart ❤️. When I’m in the mood for a beer or a cocktail without making it a whole “event,” this is the spot 🍻🍸. Now, let’s talk prices — if you follow my page Hungry Italians Perth, you already know what’s coming: the infamous Perth Tax™ 💸. I’ve made peace with it at this point — Perth is expensive, and The Royal is no exception 😅. If I were being objective, it’d be a solid 4⭐️ — but since it’s my comfort pub, I’m going with 5 stars from the heart ❤️🔥.

Had a wonderful lunch here, served by a lovely young Brazilian lady behind the bar, she was so patient and pleasant as we asked about the various items on the menu. We had the steak special, it was superb and really good value! Highly recommend and look forward to returning!

Visited the Royal for drinks many times, today we stopped off and grabbed a bit to eat. Chilli squid was drenched in paprika, deep fried to death. Chips in the peri peri chicken were also coated in paprika. Manager was very apologetic and a refund was offered. Service was solid, only the food was unacceptable. We will still come back.

Fine dining restaurant
Modern Australian restaurant
Wildflower is a unique and innovative restaurant located in the COMO The Treasury hotel in Perth. It offers a fine dining experience with stunning views of the CBD and river. The restaurant prides itself on showcasing the best of Western Australia's local produce through tasting menus that change with the six indigenous seasons, providing a fresh and unique dining experience each time.
Wildflower – A Culinary Experience Worth Celebrating Wildflower is more than just a place to eat—it’s a destination for those seeking a truly immersive dining experience. Whether you're celebrating something special or simply want to be inspired by what food can be, Wildflower delivers on every level. Our recent visit to Wildflower in Perth was nothing short of exceptional. Nestled above the city, the restaurant offers a stunning panoramic view of Perth’s skyline, which set a magical tone for what turned out to be an unforgettable evening. From the moment we arrived, every detail was handled with care—from coat storage to personal touches for our birthday celebration, it was clear that hospitality is held to the highest standard here. The ambiance was elegant yet warm, with a sense of calm that allowed us to truly focus on the experience. The hand-thrown pottery plates added a beautiful, artisanal touch to each course, subtly reminding us that this was a place where craftsmanship and care are central. We indulged in the eight-course tasting menu, which featured uniquely Australian ingredients presented in inventive and refined ways. Each dish felt like a story—thoughtfully composed and intriguing. Highlights included the Swan River Crab with crocodile and bush tomato, and the Kangaroo with bunya nut and cured egg - both complex and perfectly balanced. The Dorper Lamb with black olive caramel and sweetbread was rich and memorable, while the Westland Honey dessert with quandong ice cream and guanaja chocolate was a revelation. What truly elevated the evening was the perfect wine pairing. Each pour enhanced and transformed the flavors of the food, and vice versa, prompting lively discussion. One guest in our party opted for the non-alcoholic beverage pairing, and the creativity and execution of those drinks were phenomenal - just as thoughtfully crafted as the wines. Every element of the evening felt considered, from the beautiful plating to the way the flavors evolved across the courses. The entire menu was a showcase of local produce and culinary innovation.

We visited Wildflower in Perth with the family for the fine dining experience. Overall experience was pleasant, the food was decent and beautifully presented, though the flavours didn’t quite live up to the expectations set by the price point. What stood out, however, was the excellent service. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain each dish in detail, which made the dining experience more enjoyable. (Overall, the family all agreed that the service industry in Australia is truly top-notch, warm, professional, and consistently attentive without being intrusive.) While the ambience was elegant, it felt a little underwhelming given the fine dining setting. Still, it was a good experience and worth a visit if you are curious about native Australian cuisine in a refined atmosphere. (We skipped the kangaroo, not quite adventurous enough to try it yet.)

We have been to the other restaurants in the Como the treasury building and so decided to try their more famed Wildflower for lunch. Service staff were very friendly and attentive and the food and cocktails were delightful, nice spot for a romantic lunch or dinner date. Our favourites were the duck and fish mains as well as the lamb entre which came with a very flavourful pistachio sauce. Unique but flavourful food combinations that worked in harmony. Highly recommend 👌.

Honestly, I don’t even feel like writing this review because the whole experience was unpleasant, but I think the team at Wildflower needs to know. After having dinner here, I woke up in the middle of the night with severe stomach pain and ended up vomiting. Since I hadn’t eaten anything else after this dinner, I have no doubt the food here was the cause. 1. First dish – Petite tart Placed on top of a flower, but it was soggy and tasteless. This immediately lowered my expectations. 2. “Fremantle Tuna” This was the worst dish of the night. I couldn’t eat more than one bite. It felt like a punishment game. I’ve dined at fine dining restaurants around the world and usually enjoy trying new foods, but this was simply inedible. The name also feels misleading – it was sticky beet puree with unpleasant duck liver flavor. What part of this was Fremantle tuna? Because of the tiny piece of tuna tartare? 3. Jarrahdale Pumpkin No comment – dull, bland, and left an unpleasant aftertaste. Unfortunately, this same heavy, cloying flavor carried through most of the courses. 4. Pork Belly This was the most acceptable dish, but nothing special. Honestly, the crispy pork belly I cook at home is better. 5. Shark Bay Seafood I expected something refreshing, but instead it felt like a steamed egg custard. The shrimp on top tasted like frozen shrimp. Again, heavy and cloying. Why wasn’t there even one refreshing, clean-tasting course to balance everything out? 6. Wagyu The worst wagyu I’ve ever had. The meat was tough and dry even though it was served medium. The cabbage pickle didn’t cut through the heaviness, the mushroom sauce was greasy, and overall it was just unpleasant. 7. Lemon lime and bitters Why not serve something light and refreshing like a lime sorbet? Instead, it was cream and meringue – once again heavy, not refreshing at all. 8. Rhubarb dessert Why so many puree-like dishes? After an entire menu full of sticky, creamy textures, this dessert was more of the same. Not enjoyable. 9. Blue Cheese course This was the absolute worst. The smell hit me as soon as it arrived. It felt like the chef extracted only the worst aspects of blue cheese. After a whole menu that was already unbearably heavy, to finish with this was like a test of patience. Finally, the petit fours were also terrible. Honestly, don’t serve them at all if they taste like this. Overall, this dinner felt less like fine dining and more like a punishment game that I paid for.

Firstly what excellent service from every team member..a rarity. There was warmth, humour and care..every dish that came out was explained in detail..our glasses ( I only drink sparkling water and a lot of it) was never empty and everyone was efficient yet discreet. My husband ordered a red that retails for $22 and was $135...a huge mark up. We chose the 8 course degustation with no wine pairing. The food was beautifully presented with some interesting flavours ( not all to our taste especially the kangaroo that was extremely strong). I also found the canapes and deserts not very exciting and the food flavours very underwhelming or rather hard on the palate. The bread was divine. The decor very simple. There were at least 5 birthdays celebrated and the cocktails looked great. Not quite as decadent as we expected but a good evening out .

$69 lunch promo – excellent value for fine dining We came for the 2-course $69 lunch promo and left impressed (mostly!). The crab starter was fresh and sweet, and the grilled crocodile was surprisingly tender — almost like chicken breast, but with a subtle “fishy” undertone reminiscent of meaty white fish. The smoked duck was beautifully presented and flavourful, while my partner’s wagyu steak (medium rare) was cooked perfectly — melt-in-your-mouth, and seasoned just right. Alongside our bottle of Sauvignon Blanc, we also ordered the risotto (creamy and well-balanced) and were treated to a few delightful amuse-bouches: scallops with beetroot glaze and swordfish on crackers. These small bites were unexpected standouts — bright, textural, and inventive. Desserts, however, were the weakest part of the meal. We had two: 1. A fruit and berry salad with milk foam – refreshing but felt more like a palate cleanser. 2. An ice cream encased in chocolate – a bit generic and didn’t live up to the creativity of the earlier dishes. Service was professional and very attentive, and the venue’s panoramic views add a special touch to the dining experience. Overall, Wildflower is a beautiful spot for a special occasion or long lunch — just wish the dessert menu lived up to the rest of the meal!

Balthazar is a long-standing favorite in Perth, located beneath the elegant Lawson apartment building with views of the Swan River. The restaurant embraces the nostalgic Art Deco era and offers a sophisticated and intimate setting. Known for its refined Australian dishes, Balthazar also boasts a robust wine list featuring labels from various regions, including WA's Frankland River and whites from the Loire Valley. The seasonal menu includes delectable options like duck breast with plum and seafood spaghetti.
Came here to celebrate my birthday with my partner. The atmosphere was just gorgeous. Intimate, dimly lit, and tables were well spaced. The food was top notch. We highly recommend the raw tuna and the kangaroo. What stood out to us most of all, was the incredible service. Staff were so attentive and on the pulse, despite it being busy. They gave me tailored recommendations that I absolutely loved. We thoroughly enjoyed dining here. Thank you for such a wonderful evening.
Michele — Google review
Solo dining – impressive service, excellent seafood, steak not worth the hype I dined alone at Balthazar today and was honestly impressed by the service. It was so attentive that after just one sip of water, my glass was immediately refilled. Possibly because you get to choose a tip percentage when paying, but either way, the staff were genuinely professional and observant without being intrusive. I started with a Negroni, which was well-balanced and smooth. Later, with dessert, I ordered the Cocoa Old Fashion from the dessert drinks menu – sweet, boozy, and absolutely delicious. A bit pricey, but worth it. I was honestly a little drunk by the end of it! Entrées came out very quickly. It seems they offer some off-menu specials for starters and desserts depending on the day. My server was extremely knowledgeable and gave me detailed descriptions about the origins and ingredients of each dish. I went with a tuna dish and a special scallop, both of which were outstanding. The sauces were incredibly well crafted – they highlighted the seafood rather than overpowering it. The addition of roe and finger lime brought brightness and contrast in both flavour and texture. Visually beautiful, and a real flavour experience. For the main, I chose the beef fillet. Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. The red wine jus was nice, but the steak itself was cooked unevenly. Though I was told the chef recommends medium rare, what I got was mostly medium – only the very centre was close to medium rare, while the outer edges were completely overcooked and dry, bordering on well-done. It was also over-salted for my taste. The potato purée and greens were just okay – nothing memorable. At $59, it felt quite underwhelming. For dessert, I tried the chocolate mousse, which I found quite average in both taste and texture. If I return, I’d definitely try the Mont Blanc instead – it looked more interesting. Overall, Balthazar shines when it comes to sauces and dishes where plating and flavour integration are key. I’d recommend ordering composed, sauce-driven dishes – I imagine the kangaroo would be a better showcase of what the kitchen can do. Simpler, more “naked” dishes like the steak seem to fall short. Oh, and the cocktails are great – definitely worth trying.

We had a lovely time. Service exceptional, it was a little dark so we struggled to read the wine bottle labels…not a huge deal…Everyone loved their meals, I did also, but the octopus in the spaghetti was tough and rubbery. Hence the 4 stars instead of 5. Others in our party had the kangaroo, pork belly and beef and all were happy with their meals.

Thank you for the wonderful meal. All the staff were friendly and provided excellent customer service. The mushroom risotto I ordered was different from others I’ve had — instead of being overly creamy, it really brought out the flavour of the mushrooms, and it was absolutely delicious:)

It takes a certain confidence to serve transcendence in daylight. At Balthazar, even the sun seems complicit — filtering politely through the blinds, as if aware that something holy is underway and it really ought to behave. The room glows with its own quiet self-assurance; the kind of atmosphere that suggests important things are happening here, most of them edible. Even in daylight, there’s a softness — that golden hush between conversation and reverence. The scallops arrived first, glistening with roe like tiny acts of rebellion against moderation. Perfectly seared, resting in a pale, silken sauce, they were the kind of dish that makes you forgive yourself for ever pretending to enjoy restraint. Then, the vitello tonnato: veal so tender it should have been whispered about, not served. Draped in tuna cream, it managed the impossible — delicate yet audacious, nostalgic yet smugly modern. Capers scattered like small, sharp reminders that perfection needs contrast. For the main, the filet — a sculpture of serenity, its surface seared with quiet authority. The mash beside it was smooth enough to question the value of all previous life achievements. The sauce — dark, rich, and entirely too knowing — might as well have been made from the tears of people who still think lunch is just a meal. Across the table, the kangaroo — Australia’s paradox on a plate. Wild yet urbane, primal yet plated with monastic precision. Its crimson reduction felt almost philosophical; the rhubarb and cream, an argument in balance. It was the taste of the outback rewritten by someone who quotes Camus at dinner. And then, our waiter. Italian, impossibly poised, with the warmth of someone who understands both wine and human frailty. Their knowledge of the menu was vast but never performative; each recommendation felt like a gift, not a lecture. They guided the meal as if orchestrating grace itself — unhurried, perfectly timed, and suffused with quiet confidence. Everything — the pacing, the space, the lighting turning glass to amber — conspired to remind you that life, while brief and mostly absurd, can occasionally arrange itself into moments of flawless composition. Five stars. Because Balthazar remains immaculate — proof that meaning, though rare, occasionally appears between mouthfuls.

Amazing food & service. Great mains, had the kangaroo which was processed & cooked nicely. Was hoping the duck skin could be more crispy but overall good taste & sauces.

First time visiting this incredible restaurant! From the start to the end, everything was on point! Those oysters with the lemon & beetroot dressing together exploded in my mouth. I absolutely loved them! My main dish which was the duck breast, oh my goodness, soft, perfect seasoning😍 the sauce was a bit too sweet for me but together with everything on the plate just made everything taste amazing!! My partner tried the kangaroo steak for the first time ever and he loved it! He said it was cooked to perfection:) Both of our desserts were top notch. Especially my mont blanc with the perfect combo of the mandarin sorbet. The host who welcomed us at first by the entry was amazing!

Sauma is a vibrant and relaxed Indian restaurant located in the heart of Northbridge, offering a modern twist on traditional street food and tapas. The menu is inspired by Chef Gurps Bagga's upbringing in Dehradun, featuring a variety of share plates perfect for group outings.
The food was nice and freshly prepared. The service was great and atmosphere was fantastic for a late lunch for two in Sunday afternoon. We ordered the grilled barramundi in banana leaves, lamb samosas and grilled squid to share. We were happy and enjoyed the food.

Went to Sauma last night in Northbridge. Looked great, great decor, fabulous staff and service, but the food let it down a little. We ordered the beef samosa which was very nice and well presented. Then we ordered the kingfish fish wing only to have the waiter come back and apologise as was unavailable. We had auntie g's chicken curry, basmati rice, raita and garlic naan. The curry was a bit watery and the flavour and heat took a while to come out in the taste buds and was a bit too subtle for me. The rice was a bit dry and also lacking in volume since we ordered it separately to go with the curry to share. The garlic naan and raita were very nice. Overall it was good and we will go try something different next time

Sauma offers a refreshing and energetic twist on Indian cuisine, perfectly located in the lively Northbridge precinct. The restaurant has successfully blended the bold, vibrant flavours of authentic Indian street food with a contemporary and stylish setting, featuring rustic decor and communal tables that encourage a shared-feast mentality. Dishes like the addictive Tamarind Lamb Ribs and the flavour-bursting Pani Puri Shots are essential starters, setting the tone for a menu that feels fresh and inventive without sacrificing traditional depth. While the atmosphere is buzzing and the service is efficient and friendly, it's the high quality and modern execution of the food that makes Sauma a standout. Whether you opt for a classic like the Butter Chicken or a specialty like the Banana Leaf Barramundi, every plate feels carefully crafted. It's a fantastic spot for a celebratory meal or a pre-theatre dinner, delivering a dynamic, memorable, and high-value dining experience that makes it a firm fixture on the Perth food scene.

🌧️ My friend and I were literally running through the rain, looking for somewhere to eat and warm up. That’s when we spotted this cozy Indian restaurant—and what a lucky find! As soon as we opened the door, the delicious aroma wrapped around us and we knew we had to stay. We shared a barramundi curry, sauma dal, basmati rice, and roti. Everything was perfectly presented, served warm, and full of comforting, home-style flavours—it had that real “nona” taste. It was more than enough for both of us and absolutely delicious. The restaurant was beautifully thought out—cozy, welcoming, and a perfect escape from the weather. The customer service was also excellent: kind, attentive, and genuine. What started as a dash through the rain turned into a memorable meal. We’re so glad we found it—highly recommended!

Post Osteria & Bar is a refined restaurant located in a restored post office, offering seasonal Italian cuisine and drinks. The historical setting adds a romantic ambiance to the dining experience, complemented by an impressive selection of beverages. Executive Chef Kim Brennan curates a menu featuring contemporary Italian classics such as prosciutto San Daniele, tagliatelle osso buco, pork cotoletta with sage, tiramisu, and formaggi.
I love the building and the atmosphere of this place. So classy, presentable, and nostalgic. Our breakfast was OK. We loved the coffee, vegetable & fruit juice. However, my omelette was a little dry and simple. The mushrooms and bacon were a little dry, too. There's certainly room for improvement. The service is amazing. Staff was friendly and very helpful. We will come back for lunch or dinner and try their dishes.

I had a booking for 8.30 for three people and the table wasnt ready by the booking time, which wasnt a big deal but is important context for the rest of the night. By the time we were seated it was about 8.45. Entrees and first round of drinks came out, wine was great, cocktails were great, bread and prosciutto were very good. An absolute stand-out was the beef carpaccio, it was excellent and the best meal of the day. We were alerted by our waiter (who had great customer service skills) that kitchen closed at 9.30, and that we'd need to order immediately. Fortunately we had looked at the mains and had some in mind. We ordered beef cheek risotto and chicken breast. The chicken breast was good, well cooked but the risotto was average. It had a very strong red wine taste that overpowered everything else. To finish, we ordered the two cows cheeses which were good, albeit expensive for what they are. Overall, Bill came to 300 dollars with tip for 3 people. I was left full, but longing for something a bit more fulfilling. For future, I would not book any later than 8pm, and at this stage won't come back until the menu is changed, as the price couldn't justify a return for the same dishes. Overall, worth a visit, but not a stay.

Food, especially main meals, was disappointing. Chicken and sword fish was overcooked and dry. Dessert was good - tiramisu and panna cotta were good. Wine also good but waitress failed to change wine glasses between white and red. Overall ok but disappointing and not up to the standard that the price and venue reflects.

Post is an amazing spot for a romantic dinner or catch up with friends and family. The Degustation gave you a nice sampler of options on the menu. Ah, Post. My go-to for any occasion big or small. From birthdays, to anniversaries, to Father’s Day and sunny Sunday afternoons, there is always something to celebrate here. Tasteful decor and cozy atmosphere feature as highlights of the Post experience, with every spot feeling apt for an intimate dining experience. The waitstaff have incredible knowledge of their food and drinks and can easily make great recommendations for menu pairings. I recently tried out their cocktail menu which is creative and high quality. Additionally, they have an extensive wine list with any variety your heart could desire. In terms of food, one cannot go wrong with any dish. Ingredients I’ve felt unsure about such as raw fish have been so skilfully prepared that they have become favourites of mine. All of the pasta is beyond delicious and the meat cooked to perfection each and every time. In my many visits to this lovely restaurant nestled within the gorgeous heritage state buildings, I have yet to encounter anything short of divine. I’m already looking forward to my next visit. If you're on the hunt for an exquisite dining experience, look no further than Silks at Crown Perth. This opulent restaurant offers a delightful journey through creative Chinese cuisine, featuring a lavish selection of dim sum that will tantalize your taste buds.
Highly recommend! I've tried all the restaurants in Crown, and this was by far the best. Couldn't find fault with the food, service or ambience. Most of the restaurants in Crown I've enjoyed but would walk away thinking 'for what we just paid, I could find almost as good elsewhere for a fraction of the price'. Silks was the opposite. I particularly recommend their seafood dishes - top tier. We had the $99 pp Tasting Menu. For $50 pp more, they will pair wines with your meal. Very reasonable for the volume and quality of food. Every dish was just delightful. Will definitely be returning.

Silks Perth is located at the Crown Resort Perth. It is a Chinese restaurant with a modern twist. I went for the Afternoon Tea, which runs from 2pm to 4pm. You get a Blue Tea to start, followed by a set menu. The tea looked good but lacked flavour. This comprises three deserts and three bite-size savoury bites. The Black Squid Ink Bao Bun looked good but lacked flavour and was tasteless. The positives: The fish was excellent, and the prawns wrapped in birds' nests were the best. The desserts were well presented and tasted great. The drinks were also well presented and had a good taste. The negatives, for the price, were that the food was mediocre—no option to order any extra food. Although the food was served quickly, none of the staff asked what we thought, and it seemed very bland like the food. Why pay for the meal? They seemed to want you out the door as quickly as possible and did not ask for feedback. For $300, would I go back? The answer is No; better-value Chinese food available outside the Crown.

Dining Experience Review at Silks Restaurant This evening, I dined at Silks Restaurant to experience the Chatterbox (from Singapore chef’s). I ordered the Mandarin Chicken Rice and Beef Ho Fun. The taste was satisfactory; however, the Beef Ho Fun was slightly salty and, more importantly, the dishes were not served hot, which was quite disappointing. In terms of service, the waitstaff were friendly and attentive. However, my overall experience was significantly impacted by the poor attitude of one of the managers, who was dressed in a black jacket. Her demeanor was unprofessional, lacking a smile, and her tone was rather rude. When clearing the table, she created unnecessary noise, which disrupted the dining atmosphere. Moreover, she accidentally spilled sauce onto my mobile phone, which was placed right next to the chopsticks and was clearly visible, yet she did not offer any apology. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, especially in a well-known restaurant within a reputable hotel. If she lacks passion for her role or finds it challenging to provide quality customer service, it would be more appropriate for her to refrain from serving guests. Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling quite disappointed, particularly given the restaurant’s high standards and reputation.

Quality dropped tremendously, only hot&sour soup and chicken still acceptable, forgettable peking duck 3/10, kongbao chicken 1/10 taste isn’t kongbao (chicken meat tender albeit cashew not even fried), fried rice is most disappointing (any food court or hawker can do better job). Not appropriate representation of a chinese restaurant. Whatever happened to the chef i wonder? Regrettably won’t visit again nor recommend to anyone.

CHATTERBOX CAFE PROMOTION 12 to 23 March 2025 Let's start with the good: * Reception was efficient & quickly found our reservation. We were shown to our table almost instantly. * Waiter offered us water (still, sparkling or tap) almost immediately. The venue looks nice and had a good ambience. The let down/bad: *There was no real offer of explanation of the menu or offerings for the evening by the senior waiteress ( who wore glasses) who served us. * When ordering asked our senior waitress if it was possible for the rojack to have the nuts on the side. She did not even bother going to the kitchen to ask and instead just said "nuts are nice". This is very disappointing attitude, not having even gone to the kitchen to ask. *Rojak ($24) when it was served had the portion size that would at best fit into a small bowl. The taste was ok. Contained about 4 pieces of cut dough sticks, about 6 x 5 cent pieces of apple, around 5 x 20 cent sized pieces of pineapple, 2 x 20 cent pieces lf bang kwang, about 6 x slivers of wax apple. Flavour wise it was good but not the best. * Lobster Laksa ($52) - the presentation was really not good & nowhere close to the picture promoting the dish. The dish was served luke warm. The thick roce noodle was overcooked & a little gluggy. There was a bit of lobster in it for sure but just bits & pieces of it. The taste was ok but we can definitely find better Laksa in Perth. The portion size is very small. The cost of the noodle is really not much & the amount of it was really very small when you consider this bowl costs $52.00 * The chicken rice ($34) was served with a bowl of soup. Whilst waiting for our food, we heard the next table complain to the waiter that their chicken rice was cold & the soup was cold too! 5 minutes later, we were served our chicken rice. The rice was not cold but it really was at best very mildly luke warm. The soup was also luke warm. The portion size of the chicken is fine but the rice was probably on the smaller side. Just to see if there was a difference in taste I ordered an "extra bowl of rice" ($7) and gave specific instructions (in jest) for them to ensure they microved the rice for an extra minute to ensure it was served properly warmed through & hot. To be fair, this warmed up rice when eaten with the chicken actually tasted much more flavourful. I did ask our senior waitress if the Guest Chef from Singapore was inside and she said yes. My conclusion is that if Singapore Chef Liew Tien Heong really was in the kitchen, he should be immediately retired to save his reputation. Silks as a purported Chinese Restaurant of the high end nature needs a good review as well. Both this guest chef and the chefs at Silks, a Chinese Restaurant served nearly cold rice, served cold soup, served luke warm Laksa. That is as bad as it can get as these are just very basic things. Am not shying away from paying for a meal but the chefs must at least serve the rice and soup elements hot. Our table was less than 5 meters from the doors of the kitchen, so it really didnt have far to go to. Something is definitely wrong in this kitchen after our experience today.

Beautiful venue. We went there for the valentine day set menu. The prawn dumpling and fried rice was very tasty. However the prawn was way too salty and the dessert was too sour. There is nothing significantly that highlighted my attention. The wine pairings were poor. I've been to far better tasting Chinese restaurants like god fortune duck house The service is not great. I find there are so many staff, but they walk past you, they don't really look at your table if you need anything, or ask you if everything is OK. Overall, it was ok and I don’t think I’d be returning any time soon as it’s not worth the price.

I wanted to take my mother to try something new, Singapore Chatterbox ,but the result was so disappointing. The Hainanese chicken rice was too small, the salted egg yolk fried chicken was delicious but there was hair in it, the bak kut teh only had 3.4 pieces of pork, and the fried beef rice noodles were very salty. The experience was not worth it.🤣

Very professional and for fine dining for a special occassion, the tasting menu option was value for money. The food is very good, taking some familiar favourites to the next level. The Stables Bar is a charming establishment located in the heart of Perth's CBD. Housed in one of the city's original horse stables dating back to the 19th century, this converted building offers a unique dining and drinking experience. The venue features old-world decor and a relaxed yet stylish atmosphere, providing guests with an inviting space to socialize and enjoy locavore dishes and house-cured meats.
My husband and I stopped in for drinks and a snack after work on Friday. The service was excellent, the food was delicious and the live music was great. Even though the weather was cool, the courtyard was cozy. Will definitely be back.

Great vibe! We went with the set menu and really enjoyed it. The cauliflower pakora was a standout absolutely delicious. I had the barramundi with yellow curry noodles for my main. The fish was cooked perfectly, the sauce could’ve used a bit more of a kick.

Came here on a Friday afternoon with friends. Mixed crowd of people, but plenty of room in the bar. Also plenty of bar tenders, so waiting for a drink wasn’t too bad. The live music was good as well, and not to loud so you can still have a conversation. Later on in the night, a dj comes on with a good selection of music. The menu for food was good. Not the usual bar eats, but something different. I got the Mac & Cheese croquettes, and the Brussel Sprouts with Speck. They were both very tasteful and a good portion of food on each plate. My friend got the Lamb Rump, and said its was extremely good as well. The rest of the menu looks good as well. Definitely on the cards to come back here for a drink, and to eat again.

A business lunch with 5 colleagues went off beautifully, with everyone very happy with the food - The steaks being the go-to - with all positive feedback. The service was great - Attentive, frequent and accomodating. They even split the bill 6 ways! - Appreciate!!! Great venue, very good food, positive vibes and lovely staff. Perfect for Perth CBD food and drinks things.

The $20 Pie and Mash special is back - service can be a bit hit and miss to the point that you're unsure if it's table or bar service. Nevertheless, I'm glad to see that the pie has returned for the winter months

Came for a solo lunch after I did some research for lunch offers in CBD, the steak sanga here for 20$ is worth coming back every thursday. It’s huge, the fries are crispy and juicy alltogether. The steak in the sanga was perfect, not chewy at all as sometimes steak sangas can be and you can taste the flame grill totally- a bit smoky meaty flavor. I mean perfection. Coffee was lovely too.

Our final night & meal in Perth was spent at The Stables and we were certainly impressed. Walking up the laneway entrance we soon discovered a vibe that was terrific. Live music greeted us in the courtyard bar area before we headed upstairs to the restaurant. We’d booked online and did so to avoid missing out on a Friday night - so glad we did. The wait staff were fabulous - warm & super friendly, offering great advice to first timers like us. The menu had something for everyone and we were there for some hearty protein! We settled on the lamb shoulder that came with chef’s suggested sides. I don’t know what we were thinking when we ordered the crispy squid as an entree to share as the lamb shoulder was enormous. The squid was fresh and cooked to perfection - delicate & crispy and believe me we are tough critics on squid. When the lamb arrived we were blown away as it was a very generous meal. The 1.5kg lamb shoulder on the bone was succulent & flavoursome and there wasn’t a great deal of bone so the amount of lamb was incredible. The sides of broccolini, salad and hand-cut chips were also faultless. We ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir for the meal and it was a beautiful match thanks to the advice of our wait staff. Yes we over-ordered, but have no regrets whatsoever. To our delight we were given a container to take the leftovers home and we did so with pride bringing them home on our flight back to Sydney! Whenever we return to Perth we’ll definitely hit The Stables again.

We had our engagement dinner in the Basement Venue. The staff were incredibly attentive and on the ball. They made it a priority to discuss the logistics of the evening and ensured we had a very smooth experience. The bar staff were great and very friendly. Food service was prompt and accurate. The plating was beautifully done and everything tasted incredible. We had such a lovely experience, the Stables staff looked after us very well throughout the evening. The only point of feedback I would have is to improve the sound system, sometimes we could barely hear the music that was playing over the speakers linked to the main restaurant. Also, accessibility could be improved but we were aware of the accessibility limitations at the time of booking. Overall a fantastic experience!

The venue boasts a diverse selection of hard-to-find wines and cult labels, making it a paradise for wine enthusiasts.
A+ Food is delicious, extensive drink options Incl wine selection. Staff and service was very good even when it was a relatively busy evening. Ordered 7 of the small plates, could have gone with 6 or even 5 as we were very full by the end of the evening. Highly recommended, bookings essential.

I cannot express how amazing our experience here was! I was referred this restaurant from multiple people and heard so many good things about the staff, specifically the owner. All the staff was soooooo lovely, I didn’t get his name but the owner looked after us the entire night with a couple other guys here and there. Everyone was fantastic! We ordered the chefs tasting menu and all the food was delicious!!! To end our experience we were given 2 glasses of Limoncello on the house… we were so confused at first and then the owner came back to clear our table once more before we asked if this was from him - he told us that he could see we were having a good time and enjoying ourselves so he thought he’d do something nice for us. I have no words… I cannot explain how great it was here… we’re returning for sure!!! Absolutely LOVE this place!!! Ps photos aren’t the best, I was too into everything to spend too much time on pics etc

I really enjoyed the dark ambiance of the place, and the neon pink pig logo is adorable. It’s a popular spot for dining with coworkers, which speaks to its appeal. The waitress was incredibly friendly, and the food was quite good.

I came here with colleagues for after-work drinks and was genuinely surprised at how good the food was. We shared a few plates — the lamb shoulder was unforgettable, and even something simple like the bread and dips felt elevated. Great wine list, relaxed but classy vibe, and the kind of place where you actually want to stay for hours. Definitely adding this to my regular rotation.

Hello 🌻 I just wanted to share a lovely experience my colleague and I had recently. After work, we went to LaLa Rookh and I must say, this venue still has that amazing, cool edge! The service was fabulous, and every staff member made us feel so welcome and checked in to see if we needed aching at all. We were impressed by the extensive wine list and the quality of the food. We both absolutely love coming here and truly enjoy the space. Thought I'd pass along the good vibes in case you're looking for a great spot in the Perth CBD to properly relax and unwind and of course enjoy a wine! 🌟

Regular spot for client lunches as well as beers after work! The restaurant is a bit of a hidden gem - fantastic seasonal menu changes too. If you’re a beer (real ale) drinker, then you’re spoilt for choice with many boutique beers that you won’t find in other bars in Perth. Great service also, staff def know their beers!

Hadiqa is a chic Middle Eastern-inspired restaurant and rooftop bar located in Perth's East End, near Elizabeth Quay. The venue, named after the Arabic word for 'garden', is part of the Sneakers & Jeans hospitality group. The elegant rooftop provides a stunning setting for enjoying a menu filled with Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, and Greek flavors paired with beautifully crafted cocktails.
Although this is a late post, I wanted to share our wonderful experience from our visit on December 28, 2023. It's been a while since our last visit, and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is beautifully designed, offering a great atmosphere that perfectly complements the exceptional food. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the generous portion sizes. The staff were friendly, attentive, and ensured we had a pleasant dining experience. We made a 5:00 PM reservation for two, and the service was prompt and efficient. We started with Char Grilled Octopus with warm breads. We followed that with Lamb Banjo and Crispy Potatoes with aioli. 👌 We're already looking forward to trying the latest menu on our next visit!

I recently stopped by Hadiqa for a quick lunch, and it turned out to be a delightful experience. The ambiance is welcoming and relaxed, making it a great spot for a casual meal. The food was the highlight, without a doubt. The dishes were beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The crispy, well-seasoned kibbeh with a touch of fresh herbs on top was a standout starter. The skewers were cooked to perfection, tender and juicy, with just the right amount of seasoning and a drizzle of creamy sauce that brought everything together. The yogurt with a crunchy topping of nuts and spices was the perfect complement to the warm, freshly baked bread, which was simply irresistible. The service was quick and friendly, making it an ideal place to enjoy a meal even if you’re pressed for time. I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch at Hadiqa and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying dining experience in the area.

📅 We managed to get a table for 2 without booking ahead, which can be difficult on a Saturday night. Even though the low tables are a bit hard to eat, they were still comfy. 👑 Great friendly service by all the staff! I think good customer service is hard to come across these days, so this was very appreciated. We got the mezze platter to start with - Great tasting dips, but would have loved more bread 🍞 🥣 Lamb shawarma was nice, slow cooked and meat was tender. Although more of the pita bread would have been great as the meat ratio was a bit much. 🍹The selection of Non-alcoholic beverages were fantastic.

Not often do you find a place that exceed expectations these days. Hadiqa is a rare find; great venue, impeccable service and very good food. Between two of us we had 8 dishes. The desserts are amazing. Perhaps the least enjoyable were the falafel balls as they were a bit dry. Everything else was on point. The cocktails are lovely.

Hadiqa offers a new menu featuring bold flavours drawing from Mediterranean, Greek and Moroccan cuisine. The service here is like none other with each dish introduced and explained in a well manner. The attentive staff here plays a big part in the whole dining experience. Each dish was delicious and unique in its own way. Highly recommend this spot for dinner as the ambience here is cozy and warm.

The waitstaff tonight really elevated the experience! Sam (lady) and Sebastian were both excellent and fully of energy! The food here is always delicious, we had the half chicken (it's massive), octopus, lamb tagine, rice, fried cauliflower, bread & dips. Yum! Bonus: it is very well air-conditioned in the restaurant, perfect for escaping summer heat ;)

Bar Lafayette is a chic and sophisticated venue that perfectly blends vintage charm with modern flair. With its timber floors, leather armchairs, and moody tones reminiscent of a gentleman's club, this stylish bar invites you to unwind in an elegant atmosphere. The cocktail menu is playful and enticing, featuring creatively named drinks like Naked in Vegas and Watermelon Millionaire that are sure to delight your taste buds.
Bar Lafayette gave us one of our favourite experiences at a bar! Not only were the staff amazing, friendly and helpful, they were really knowledgeable. My husband is a big bourbon fan, and was quite happily surprised to see the top shelf variety they offered. I tried some of their cocktails, and loved the Watermelon Millionaire. If could give more stars I would! 🌟

Came here with my partner for date night for the first time on Friday and definitely wasn't disappointed! We were looking for a cocktail bar that offered some specialty cocktails neither of us had been before, didn't disappoint! We both tried several from their extensive list, all feeling very out the box and well curated. Atmosphere was top notch to boot, dark and moody while still remaining cozy. We found some seats and hostess Jasmine served us throughout the entirety of the night, she was so incredibly lovely, accommodating, and was overall just super attentive - taking it upon herself to move us to a more comfortable area when it opened up; which she by no means had to do! Left a tip and for sure have a couple more regulars now <3

This bar is a true gem right in the heart of the city. The vibe is unmatched—perfect for anyone looking to relax or have a great time. The music sets the mood just right, creating an atmosphere that’s both lively and laid-back. What really sets this place apart, though, is the staff. They’re some of the friendliest and most welcoming bartenders you’ll find in Perth. They make sure you feel at home, whether it’s your first time or you're a regular. Great drinks, great tunes, and even better people—this is a spot you’ll definitely want to return to. Further, quite often this venue is graced by famous architects, models, singers and chefs.

A fantastic experience from start to finish, the vibe is very welcoming, the staff are great and the drinks are absolutely delicious, what better way to end a fantastic meal at W Churchill 2 doors down than to go over to Bar Lafayette and have a few drinks. It's an excellent spot to hang out with friends, both the indoor and outdoor seating is well spaced, so it never feels over crowded, but you know the place is pumping! Had a great time and will definitely be back for more delicious drinks. There are also plenty of bar food options, to accompany the drinks. All couple each other really well.

I booked Bar Lafayette for our work Social Event and was very pleased with night. Email communication with Mia was friendly and through and easy to arrange everything we needed for the night. We were taken to our private function room upon arrival and drink orders arrived very quickly after. We chose several share platters and they arrived on time. The food was lovely! So many flavours and so much to choose from. Great selection! All the waitstaff were very friendly and professional, especially our own host for the whole night. I highly recommend for your next function.

Lovely bar in Brookfield Place, with some very nice moody ambience & decor, various interesting lounge & seating areas. Staff were mostly very good, certainly professional & very busy, though bar was a little small to effectively serve the demand promptly. Music with live DJ was good, but too loud throughout - needs some quiet areas. Very pricey drinks, but worth a visit. Didn't try any food.

Nice chilled bar! The bartender's are excellent in their craft mixing some of the best cocktails. The waitresses are attentive, pleasant and polite👌 If you are looking for a chilled night out, relaxing to good music a neat drink or cocktail definitely a place to go. Will definitely visit again! Madalenas Bar is a casual gem located in South Fremantle, offering a unique dining experience that celebrates local seafood and produce. The menu showcases WA's finest seafood prepared in unexpected ways, such as barbecued king prawns with a Thai-style relish and raw tuna paired with goats curd. The restaurant partners exclusively with socially-conscious supplier Fins for their seafood.
Friendly staff in a super relaxed setting serving excellent local and regional dishes. Predominantly seafood, imaginative offerings, truly well presented. Also, a well selected wine list of local, regional, national and international wine and cocktails for most budgets. This our favourite local seafood Cafe. Recommended.

Overall a really nice restaurant with a very chilled atmosphere. We went with the chef's selection which included 6 courses for $90 per person. All the food was delicious, but perhaps not quite as filling as we would have liked as we did need to swing past Macca's on the way home. We loved that all the seafood was locally sourced. The service was excellent and couldn't be faulted. They have an excellent drinks selection but we found that perhaps the non-alcoholic section was a bit limited. Definitely worth a visit.

We came just for dessert, and both were absolutely delicious. The service was lovely, though a touch more engagement would have made it feel less like we were just another table. The restaurant has such a beautiful ambience, and I’d happily come back to try some of the small savoury dishes paired with a glass of wine. Super grateful for the birthday candle for my mum 🫶🏻❤️‍🔥

Unforgettable food, service and atmosphere. One of the best meals I’ve ever had- genuinely! Beautiful selection of wines as well. Staff are very knowledgeable and talked us through all of the dishes. We’ll be back
Lydia O — Google review
This is in a great spot and the seafood was delicious and fresh. However, opting for the rather expensive chef's choice menu was a mistake. The service of the set menu was so slow with so many dishes that the waitstaff actually moved us to the more crowded bar area upstairs because they didn't finish service in time for the next booking. It got quite loud later in the evening.
Georgi Y — Google review
Madalena’s seafood bar is definitely a heaven for anyone who loves seafood and wants to try exciting new flavours. Our favourites were the tuna with ajo blanco and confit pepitas and the Fremantle octopus with tamarind and duck fat, but really, I loved every dish we had. With each bite, you can tell the seafood was cooked with love, respect and care. Our only complaint is regarding seating comfort. At the fold out wooden tables, we were seated side by side, so one of us weren’t able to sit all the way in since our legs were up against the crossed legs of the table. Other than this discomfort, the service was enthusiastic, helpful and attentive. Located within an old building, the interior design was rustic and decorated with plants which created a very cosy vibe.

Had an exceptional meal here for Mother’s Day. It was a special set menu for MD and despite being skeptical of set menus, the four course was delicious with such an interesting mix of flavours that worked beautifully with the seafood. Seafood was fresh and skillfully cooked and presented. The scallops with almond, koji and dill was my favourite and the goldband snapper served with this beautiful currant agrodolce and butternut was a mindblowingly good pairing. The wine selection is also faultless. My mum is a hard customer to please but adored this place - definitely coming back again. Love the fact it is local ingredients where possible and the restaurant is focussed on sustainability. Staff were lovely and food arrived promptly.

Head Brewer Matthew Moore ensures the quality of their craft beers while Head Chef Jake Gledhill offers seasonal share plates that perfectly complement the beer selection.
What a treat Bright Tank is! We treated ourselves to the feed me menu last night and every single mouthful was a delight. The food was delicious & abundant which saw us taking home the leftovers to enjoy again today (I forgot to take photos as I was too busy eating!). Service was quick and authentically friendly. It was our first visit here and definitely won’t be our last. Thank you for a great night Bright Tank Brewing 🩷

Among the best of Perth's breweries incl. Fremantle, which seems to have more breweries than any other city in Australia. Of the 7 I've visited all brews at Bright Tank were of a high standard and I particularly enjoyed Pale Ales, IPA and XPA. Bright Tank was easily accessed via the city's free bus service and a 5 minute walk across a small park. A warm ambience in a clean environment lined with brewing tanks on one side and the Brown St Grill on the other was complemented with good seating and acoustics. There's a large choice of beers and other brews such as ginger beer. All are very good. I would have liked to dine there as the menu looked awesome. Alas we were to meet friends for dinner elsewhere.

We booked a table for 4 and the restaurant was pretty cool! The staff were lovely and the service was quick! I ordered the pork belly which was okay, a little on the dry side but the sauce helped with that and made it better. The salad didn’t interest me at all - in all honesty I did expect the dish to be great seeing as it was $39.. The drinks were great especially the white chocolate port they had! I understand it’s a small business with a smaller menu so overall it was a cool experience!

Atmosphere was nice, busy tonight probably because of their Wednesday Night Special. Lots of full tables, roughly 25 minute wait for food. We got the steak&schooner special and the scotch fillet, unfortunately the steaks came out cold. The roast potatoes were the highlight though very yummy and crisp!

Went to steak night to try the Wagyu. Best I’ve had in Perth! One of the few places that can nail a rare steak. More so using a wood-fire oven. Kingfish wings were amazing, as was the basque cheesecake. You can tell it was all made with love - a rarity these days. I’d encourage you to try it out - support this small business that’s obviously trying hard, and doing it well.

I have been wanting to go here for quite a while and finally got the chance over the weekend. I've got to say I was really impressed. The service staff were wonderful, no long waits at the bar or table for drink orders. The food was amazing and extremely well priced. We ordered the Feed Me menu and there was a lot of food, a lot of variety and it all tasted great. The two husbands enjoyed the beers and we ladies had a lovely bottle of white. I would have loved the Basque cheesecake as the chosen dessert, but that was neither here nor there. Thank you for a great night, we'll be back!

We ordered a Teddy Bear Cookie & Cream Cake from Just For You Bakery on Hay Street for my mum’s birthday — and it was nothing short of magical. From the moment we picked it up, we could tell this wasn’t just a cake — it was a work of art. The detailing on the teddy bear was absolutely beautiful, and the flavour? A perfect balance of rich cookies & cream with a texture that melted in your mouth. What really stood out was the presentation and care that went into the cake — it genuinely felt tailor-made and premium. You can tell they put love and craftsmanship into every detail. My mum was genuinely emotional when she saw the cake — it made a special day unforgettable. Massive thanks to the team for helping us celebrate such a big milestone with something so unique. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a custom cake that’s equal parts stunning and delicious

It was a very unpleasant experience. There are similar breads in Japan and it had the same style as Japanese bakeries. I was excited, but the customer service was very bad. The staff (a woman) was unfriendly and she didn’t even say “Hi, how are you?” She had no smile and seemed grumpy the entire time and even glared at me after the payment. Unbelievable, that’s terrible. That was disappointing. The food wasn’t bad… but I will never come back again.

VERY BAD EXPERIENCE&CUSTOMER SERVICE! We ordered the Black Tea Swiss Roll, but the cashier mistakenly gave us the Red Velvet. We realized this when we returned to the hotel. We tried contacting the shop over the phone more than ten times, but there was NO answer. To get the correct order, we had to walk 20 minutes in the heavy rain back to the shop. And there was no apology!

Taste wise was not too bad, not overly sweet for breads we bought. Custard bun, matcha red bean mochi, taro mochi, chicken bun. Filling was too little so like we only ate bread. Service was just ok, no smile but also not rude. They use single plastics for bread like another bakery nearby. Hope these bakeries can start using paper bag one day?

La Lune is a new addition to East Fremantle, offering a touch of Parisian charm. The bistro serves classic French dishes like steak frites and salade nicoise, as well as breakfast tartines. The restaurant has garnered attention for its crab vol-au-vents and interesting interpretations of French cuisine. Visitors have praised the beautiful interior design that evokes a feeling of being in France.
Had dinner there yesterday. I’m French, and out of all the French restaurants I’ve tried in Australia, that’s definitely the best!! Cozy atmosphere, and the restaurant manager is very welcoming, friendly guy. Special thanks to my former cookery school classmate Rafael who is a great chef and participated in making these delicious dishes!! Mathilde

While we didn’t manage to get a table on a Saturday night, we were able to get two seats at the bar without waiting which was very lucky. I like how this place leaves spots for walks in, which makes organising a last minute date night super easy. For drinks my partner had two beers and I got myself a martini and a G&T. I was a little disappointed to find the food menu had changed from what I’d seen online (a few entrees were different) but I get that it was a sample and things shift with the seasons. For entrees, we went with the stuffed squid, scallops, and potato. The squid didn’t hit the mark for us unfortunately although I would say the scallops and potato made up for it. For mains, we shared the duck and the steak tartare (smaller portion)- and wow, the tartare was up there with some of the best we’ve had. The duck was also really great. Service was a bit slow but given it was packed it was pretty much expected. Overall I’d recommend giving La Lune a try. I would suggest if you are a couple to get your own main as well as multiple entree to share, as after those 5 plates we left feeling peckish as the portions were smaller than anticipated. For 4 drinks, 3 entrees, one large main and one small main we spent approx $200 total.

If you value exceptional service, exquisite food, cooked with love and top quality ingredients and an eclectic wine list, La Lune is for you. From the greeting on arrival (no booking) to the sample wine tastings and the suggested pairings with individual dishes, everything was fabulous. The bouillabaisse was outstanding and Tarte Tartine perfect. It's not cheap, but good things never are. Is this the best french restaurant in Perth? Probably...

We visited on a lazy mid week afternoon for lunch. Bursting with old world glamour and heritage charm, La Lune lives up to its reputation. We just had to visit for ourselves after hearing all the reviews and we weren't disappointed! Service was warm and attentive and the overall vibe was unpretentious and a focus on having a good time. Our meals were beautifully plated and everything was delicious. Highly recommend a visit here. It deserves 5 stars! We will be back.

It took us just over an hour to drive down south and it was totally worth it. We ordered the Terrine Du Chef and Spring Ceviche for our entrees. I wanted to order the Wagin Duck but unfortunately it was not available. So for our mains we ordered the Spring Lamb Fillet and Fish of The Day. For dessert we ordered the Creme Brulee. Evey dish danced on my taste buds. The service was excellent, the decor beautiful, and the food delicious. I highly recommend visiting this French Bistro.

I went to La lune recently and ordered the Bavette A La Lune meal to be cooked medium. After waiting over 40 mins the people who were sat next to us meals came before us and they had arrived after us. We then asked the waiter who told us it would be another 10 mins for our meal and from there it took at least 30 minutes. In total it took about an hour and a half to come after asking 4 times. When it arrived the steak was pretty much raw which was extremely frustrating considering how rare it was it should have taken no time to cook. We then complained and were offered to have our meal cooked again which we obviously refused as we had already waited over an hour. So overall disappointing experience.

Wow! Our food was prepared by chef Ollie and it was impeccable 👌 The atmosphere was cosy, modern and had a European feel. Food wise, everything on the menu was delicious. The Burger was surprisingly my favourite as they had made and smoked their own bacon in house which took it to a whole other level. The salads were simple and fresh and my mocktail was refreshling moreish which was perfect on the 32°C day. Our waiter was Omar was an absolute delight and not only attended to every request but was able to recommended many drinks and meals. I can't wait to return for a date night or function.
