Carmela Ice Cream is a charming ice cream parlor in Pasadena that takes its craft seriously. The shop offers a variety of unique and artisanal flavors made with organic dairy and seasonal ingredients, setting it apart from typical ice cream spots. Visitors are drawn in by the enticing aroma of freshly made waffle cones and stay for the complex flavors like brown sugar vanilla bean, strawberry buttermilk, and lavender honey.
I met this amazing hand crafted ice cream company at a local event in Los Angeles and fell in love with their ice cream. I finally had the spare time to visit their location. Staff was more than professional. I definitely recommend this location! Can't wait to come back for more!!

It's my benchmark for young Ice cream shop. Great quality ingredients you can taste..i can feel the passion of ice making artisan, She highlights the ingredients taste profile. My summer go to is Buttermilk strawberry and Mint with cocoa nib. Very consistent product season after season. New addition of sorbet is great with additional of a hint of rose. The great thing of this shop, small artisan ice cream that source ingredients are the key foundation. It's very refreshing that someone actually care about how ice cream should taste like..Kudos!
Alec S — Google review
Carmela Ice Cream is a great little place for a fancy treat! My wife loves this place and comes here often with her friends. Now I understand why. I had the Orange Vanilla Bean Sorbet and my wife chose the Spiced Apple Sorbet. Food joy activated! The flavor satisfaction experience makes this treat well worth the price point. Fun Facts: -Carmela Ice Cream was founded in 2007 by folks who had never made ice cream or owned their own business. -The ice cream and sorbet are handmade with seasonal farmers market produce. -After starting their business in downtown LA the Pasadena location opened in 2011. So, if you are looking for a treat, give this pioneer in the artisan ice cream business a try soon.
Mitch W — Google review
Fresh flavors like brown sugar vanilla and mint cucumber keep me coming back. The waffle cones smell amazing from down the block. Parking on Washington is usually okay. Scoops are creamy and not overly sweet. Staff are upbeat even when the line stacks. A perfect neighborhood treat.
Kris E — Google review
Stopped by Carmela Ice Cream and found their offerings to be decent, though not the best in the area. I felt the different flavors were quite similar, with nothing particularly special or standout about them. Was hoping for a richer flavor profile. If you're in the neighborhood, it's worth a try, but temper your expectations.
BK — Google review
Generally good ice cream. The Lavender Honey tastes more like vanilla, but has a very fine and light taste. The Brown Sugar Vanilla Bean has a great vanilla bean taste, but I missed the small black grains from the vanilla bean, which makes me conclude that it contains artificial flavor only. It is also a little bit too sweet for my taste. The Dark Chocolate with Cocoa Nibs tastes rich in chocolate and the cocoa nibs gives it a nice crunch. I really recommend to opt for the waffle cone as it features a delicious buttery, rich French like flavor. Cute little shop offering a few baked goods as well.
Jasmin H — Google review
The ice cream was a little pricey but it was really really good. My only complaints are the price and the softness off the ice cream. My daughter wanted to taste test one and he put it on a spoon and handed it to her and as he handed it to her it slipped right off onto the floor. I was only going to get ice cream for my kids but when I tasted my son’s fresh mint ice cream cone I walked back in and bought me a cone. The cup was really small. The cone I think was worth the price. We parked in the front of the store. There were only 2 parking spaces on the street. The guy was a little slow at getting things and it took a little while. I would go back. The store was fairly clean. The floor was sticky, my shoes stuck to the floor and when we wiped up the ice cream my daughter dropped the napkin turned black. Everything else looked clean though. I would like to try other things they offer. We will see if we are ever back in Pasadena.

This hidden Gem is amazing. I love the combination of honey lavender, dark chocolate and brown sugar vanilla ice cream! You can taste the quality.

Ice cream shop
Afters Ice Cream is a popular ice cream shop known for its innovative flavors and unique treats. One of their famous creations is the Cookie Monster, a vanilla-based ice cream mixed with various cookies and stuffed inside a warm glazed donut called the Milky Bun. This dessert sandwich has become a cult favorite and is highly Instagrammable. Afters offers other options as well, such as building your own version of the Milky Bun with different ice cream flavors and toppings.
This charming ice cream shop, playfully disguised as a gas station, attracts many parent with kids. I ordered the milky bun with ube brownie flavor—a unique and delicious choice. The bun was served warm, providing a perfect contrast to the fresh, chilly scoops of ice cream inside. The combination of the warm, soft bun and the cool, creamy ice cream was absolutely delicious and made for a memorable treat.
Yunong S — Google review
I just had taken my son to the dentist and, lucky enough, ice cream was one of the things he could eat at the moment. While I was driving, my eye was caught by a very iconic-looking ice cream establishment. It looks like a very old gas station with antique-like gas pumps, and it has plenty of shaded tables outside, it's definitely a place you can take your date to. The flavors are the kinds you find in craft ice cream parlors, with more intricate recipes than just chocolate and vanilla. I can't remember the names, but I took a photo of the menu (I got the equivalent of chocolate and vanilla). The ice cream was pretty good, but the price was way too expensive! We got 2 cones with 2 scoops each for $19.60, I know a place where I can get 2 very good double-bacon-cheeseburgers and 1 order of fries that you can barely finish (small fries!) for 17.50! The ice cream is not worth that much money in my opinion.
ADAM J — Google review
Service was efficient, super nice environment to be at while you’re spending a summer night enjoying a summer dessert! Flavors were interesting! Ended up opting with their coffee and strawberry. The bites in the strawberry were perfect touch! Their Saigon coffee tho, could not miss! It tasted like those coffee candies!!! Super satisfying!!!
Nat A — Google review
It's one of my favorite locations of Afters. This place has nice decor outside. It's all outdoor seating. You walk up to the window and there's a person there to take your order. This location only takes credit card and tap (Apple/ Google pay). No cash. There are a lot of good flavors, but I prefer the Ube brownie. I have yet to try their sweet bun. I like the waffle cone, but just like any waffle cone, they're messy to eat because they leak at the bottom. I'm not sure if they charge, but I saw a few people ask for an additional cup with their regular cake cone. When we arrived there wasn't a line, but there was after we ordered. Lol. Thank goodness we got there before the wave of people came. Lots of parking around the place also.
Jane D — Google review
Stop by this little hole in the wall ice cream place to try out a new location of ice cream. The customer service person was friendly and recommended some flavors. I went with the mango sorbet and the vanilla. The mango was delicious, but the vanilla was melting, soft, not as cold as it should be. My two guests had one scoop each, one Saigon Coffee, and one mint monster. They both enjoyed their scoop, but the clear winner was the Saigon Coffee. I may return but the previous place I reviewed is preferred. Total for four scoops $19.85, with tip $22.83.
Bubba R — Google review
Their ice cream is a little expensive but very much worth it! They give you huge scoops and it is homemade. Unique flavors you can't find anywhere else. And the staff are very friendly!
Gloria J — Google review
Great spot! Been coming here since it opened! It’s perfect spot to bring a date, friends, kids, family, or whomever! Flavors are great and I like that they have good non-milk options. Open late also in case you want something sweet, tasty and cold during the hot days throughout the year! Try the Milky Bun if they have it in stock!
Luiz L — Google review
Went to this location around 10pm and got an Ice cream waffle cone with two scoops, one of Cookie butter & Dark matter brownie batter. Which were delicious. The flavors were not overly sweet and had a good balance of chocolate and cookies. The only con was that the ice cream was a little runny and started melting way to fast, like it needed to be in a colder fridge. But overall great experience, nice and friendly staff who answered our questions about the flavors they had. The location does have a parking lot & street parking, tables to sit if you choices to eat your ice cream there, & they don’t accept cash.

Frozen yogurt shop
The ice cream shop Bloomfield Creamery is great for all kinds of ice cream lovers, with a range from soft serve to frozen yogurt. There's also a vegan option available, as well as fresh ice cream.
Has everything - frozen yogurt and tons of toppings, creamy homemade ice cream, chocolate chip cookies to die for, and fresh waffle cones made in a waffle maker, made only when you order one so it’s warm and fresh. They also employ the nicest people on the planet, have a cute outdoor patio area and even games to play if you have a while to relax. We LOVE coming here. ❤️
Malea B — Google review
Ages ago, I found this ice cream shop on Yelp and had been thinking of trying it out. Unfortunately, the location was a bit far for me. I finally ventured over there today. I originally hoped to try the salted caramel flavor, but they had run out already by the time I arrived. I finally settled on the cookie monster and birthday cake. These flavors weren’t as creamy as I liked; they satisfied my ice cream craving fine enough besides that. The birthday cake is made with oatmeal, no dairy included. I saw that Bloomfield offers cookie dough. I might get it next time.
Esther L — Google review
Nice ice cream spot offering Mid West flavors in north side of Pasadena. Offers both ice cream, frozen yogurt and cookie dough with a good variety of flavors. No sugar is added to the ice cream, only honey. Ample seating out front for patrons. Enjoyed on a weeknight
Susanna S — Google review
Absolutely loved this place! I got the coffee and salted caramel flavors — both were super creamy, rich, and packed with flavor. The coffee had a strong, bold taste without being too sweet, and the salted caramel was perfectly balanced with just the right amount of saltiness. You can tell they use quality ingredients. The shop itself is cute and cozy, with a fun vibe and a clean, well-organized setup. Will definitely come back again to try more flavors!

Love adore this place and am obsessed with all the gluten free/ vegan options they have. Support local, treat yourself and give it a try!
Denise V — Google review
Love the coffee flavored ice cream. Forgot the exact name of the flavour but it is heaven. Perfect coffee strength, sweetness and consistency. Lots of other ice cream flavors. The store is clean and with adequate amount of tables and chairs. They also have frozen yogurts with a lot of availavle toppings and they also have edible cookie dough. Will definitely go back for the coffee or capuccino. Only thing is, the waffle cone had an aftertaste, it's not bad but I am not used to it.

I’m OBSESSED with this place. The maple butter pecan ice cream and cake batter cookie dough are my faves 💖

Had the pleasure of having Bloomfield cater our wedding. Amazing Ice Cream, the absolute highlight of the evening. You don't realize how many people love and prefer ice cream over plain ole wedding cake. Glad we went with Bloomfield!

Wanderlust Creamery is a unique and artisanal ice cream shop which specializes in flavors inspired by travel and different destinations around the world. The ice cream is delicious, and the flavor selection is impressive. The earl grey ice cream was particularly strong, but it would be difficult to sleep after eating it!
A cute place to get that sweet tasty treat. You can come in and sample the different flavors they have before you finally decide on the ones you want. The waffle cone is the way to go, get the split scoop you’re gonna want more than one flavor. Staff was great, also awesome to see Filipinos representation and flavors that people get to enjoy. Cultures are meant to be shared and appreciated. Love their fusions and seasonal flavors that change, it keep it fresh and allowing to come back to try something new. This place also has pie hole and pressed juicery inside. They have seating area by the window where you can enjoy your treat and people watch. Lots of stores that you can visit on your visit either before or after. Parking garages are close by just be mindful of the time that passes by either parking isn’t too expensive.
Joss T — Google review
I love coming here whenever I swing by Pasadena. The ube waffle cone is delightful and every ice cream flavor I've tried has not disappointed me. So far my favorites are probably the pandan tres leches and black sesame cookies and cream
Stephanie S — Google review
One of the best ice cream spots in LA! They have so many options and the best part is so all are inspired by different countries. The staff is also very friendly and accommodating. I tried a range of different flavors but went black sesame cookies and cream, olive oil salted date, and Japanese Neapolitan. Would definitely recommend visiting and definitely coming back!
Asad C — Google review
⭐☆☆☆☆ (1 star review example) The ice cream was tasty — not bad at all — but the service and attitude were absolutely terrible. I went there for the first time yesterday, and honestly, I’ll never go back. There was no greeting, no “hello,” no “welcome,” nothing. The guy working there had a mask on, and when I asked questions, he just nodded without saying a word — no smile, no friendliness, just cold silence. We got our ice cream and sat down to eat, and just a few minutes later he came over and said, “We’re closing in five minutes,” basically telling us to leave. In my opinion, customer service should always come first in the U.S., especially when there are so many ice cream shops to choose from. The ice cream itself was good, but the atmosphere and the staff’s attitude were extremely disappointing.
Rider — Google review
Ordered a two scoop of Ube Malted Crunch and Smoky Road and another two scoop of Passionfruit Cacao and Black Sesame Cookies and Cream. The Ube Malted Crunch is a good pick for ube lovers and has small malt bits that you can savor a bit longer. The Smoky Road is great for chocolate lovers that want a darker chocolate taste. The Passionfruit Cacao is a sweet and fruity flavor. The Black Sesame Cookies and Cream have the sweetness of the cookies and cream mixed with the natural tones of black sesame. Great little nook to have a dessert and you can try samples before you buy, just be mindful if there is a line behind you.
Kevin C — Google review
Some of the best ice cream I've had recently - hoping they open a Seattle branch! Love the tasting trio option which was just the right size, and I'm a sucker for Asian and tea flavors so had to try plenty. Particularly loved the Korean honey butter crunch and the Japanese Neopolitan :) Wanted the halo halo but they were sold out - maybe next time! Super friendly staff too and free samples of course.
Anna B — Google review
Delicious! Yummy! Good! Awesome! Great tasting ice cream. Not your average ice cream flavors. I got a sticky rice mango flavor scoop of ice cream it really has that same taste as mango sticky rice! They also have an ube flavor that i will definitely come back to try. Price is a bit high for such a small scoop but I guess with the flavors they offer I will pay it. Its very creamy and yummy and would recommend to anyone that loves ice cream! 😋

Infinite samples and a wide variety of flavors. Every flavor is unique and delicious, something for everyone. One of the best ice cream spots in the area. The staff are really nice too. Frozen yogurt shop
This frozen yogurt shop has a wide variety of flavors to choose from, and the quality is really good. They're also very environmentally friendly, using green energy in their kitchens. However, the prices are a bit high and they don't have any locations in the city that are quite as spacious as the new location.
One of my favorite places in pasadena — clean, delicious, and sweet. It is nice to watch them making your fresh frozen yogurt right in front of you. The workers are friendly but today there was a worker named Jacob, and he was the kindest man in the world. He really made my day. I usually choose a small cup, which is actually pretty big. I ordered Couch Potato this time. The texture was fun and it tasted great! I would love to try other flavors too.
Celine — Google review
Have been coming here almost everyday. The plain yogurt flavored soft ice cream keeps me cool! And people working always nice and cheerful. But today ordered the same exact medium size plain yogurt flavored soft ice cream and got almost half amount than any other time. I felt so disappointed. Will come tomorrow and try again though. Still have high hopes that I will get my piece of ‘Cool’.
Hanai — Google review
Creative frozen yogurt choices in old town. Pretty pricey, but you get a lot even in a small cup. Staff is friendly but service can be slow during peak times. I tried the couch potato (interesting combination with potato chips and cookie dough). Was too sweet for my taste, just a lot happening that didn't really go together. If you have a sweet tooth this might be for you.
Ying L — Google review
$8 for a single ice cream is a litttle ridiculous and it doesn’t taste like frozen yogurt. but the service was nice and we got to keep the soda for our root beer float ice cream. which we needed bc it didn’t taste much like a root beer float, more like vanilla. the store inside is also a bit bare bones with no seating in or out.
Charisma B — Google review
Very tasty, but it’s melting too fast. It is half melted by the time we got it from the table.
Howard H — Google review
Was looking for a different ice cream spot with my girlfriend and we happened to find this semi-hole in the wall spot. We thought it sounded good and much to our surprise, it was awesome! The amount of mix-ins they have is crazy and we ordered rhe strawberriy tequila sunrise. It was really fruity and good. The service is also amazing. Expect a line in the later hours. Definitely reccomend for a late night ice cream spot!
Hugo B — Google review
Love 21 choices, but I think the worker who made my ice cream is new. My friend and I got the exact same thing. Hers was made by someone else and it look good, while I was handed a cup with my ice cream looking runny and watery
Jazmin R — Google review
Got the chubby hippo! Contained brownie, pretzel, caramel, and sea salt. You’ll see them make it in front of you. Or you’ll pay first and they’ll bring you your frozen yogurt. Lots of people! People do sit down and eat inside so it does get crowded. Their pricing isn’t too bad. The one I got was a small and they’re very generous with their portions.

The ice cream shop is yummy, with dark chocolate and espresso being the best flavors. The service was polite and helpful, and there was a bench outside where customers could eat. The prices are high but the servings are generous.
Hello Gelato stands out among the many frozen sweet shops in Old Town Pasadena. The flavors taste exactly like they're supposed to, rich and delicious. The texture is dense and smooth. I like chocolate and mint chip, and my husband swears by the stracciatelli. Bonus: you'll often meet the owner himself scooping behind the counter. A great little local business!
Gail G — Google review
Hello Gelato in Pasadena is a. Wry good option to grab some ice cream! The gelato is super creamy, with tons of unique flavors to choose from. My favorite was the pistachio, so rich and flavorful. Perfect spot for a sweet treat.
Carlo C — Google review
Amazing selection of flavors that weren't too sweet, just perfect and simple. Very nice lady. Cute store
Yuna J — Google review
We left Hello Gelato very disappointed. As soon as we asked to try a second flavor, the staff sternly told us we could only try two samples—creating the impression that we were just there for free samples instead of planning to buy. With so many flavors to choose from, limiting people to two samples makes it nearly impossible to make a confident choice, especially if those two aren’t a match, and you haven’t been here before. The experience felt unwelcoming, which might explain why the shop was empty while Bacio Di Latte across the street was full. A little flexibility and respect for customers would go a long way in creating a better atmosphere.
Rctromano — Google review
Good gelato store in Great location. Lots of flavors to choose from. Good customer service. They allow sampling before buying. There's a couple of seats and a small bench inside.

GREAT selection of Gelato. Friendly owner and YUMMY YUMMY food. We went back for seconds. Literally some of the best sweets ive had. He also uses like fresh milk and all these other things to make them healthier than average sweets!! Check them out!!

y second time here (first time was way before the pandemic) and it is still great!! It’s hidden in a cute little alley with lights strung up and a bar at the end. There are TONS of delicious flavors to choose from 😋😋 I chose the size small with horchata and hazelnut flavors. Both so good! Hazelnut was frickin amazing!!! Def would come back to try even more flavors!! I thought it was cute how they decorate the flavors with berries or actual pie slices!

You don't have to be so stingy with the bathroom code. It's not your private bathroom. 3 different businesses use it and the business I went to was super busy so getting the code was hard, that's why I want to your business, which had no one, to ask for the code. Definitely won't stick my head back in your place, a little courtesy goes a long way.

Brunch restaurant
Float Pasadena is a charming retro storefront located in the picturesque Burlington Arcade alley, offering indoor-outdoor seating and a cozy ambiance. The cafe specializes in gourmet sodas and classic sandwiches made fresh to order. Guests can indulge in the namesake floats, including traditional root beer floats with artisanal root beer and San Gabriel Valley's own Fosselmans ice cream.
As soon as you open the door to this small coffee and sandwich shop in the Burlington arcade, you are greeted with friendly personnel and great aromas. There was both a coffee and sandwich menu available. We ordered an Americano and a cooling iced latte. There were some tables available near the service counter as well as some tables outside in the Burlington arcade itself. It was close to lunch so it was starting to get busy. I ordered one of their popular Chipotle bacon sandwiches to go. I was asked some questions about condiments that I preferred. The sandwich was incredible and a great value. Enjoyed the second half the next day and still tasted great. Great service, look forward to trying other of their popular sandwiches.

Excellent sandwich, highly recommended. This is a 2nd edit: We are back to Pasadena on June 11, 2024 again to attend the commencement on June 14. It is a very exciting experience to come back to Float again that my son likes most when he was here during summer of 2019. The food is the same high quality and excellent taste.
Jason L — Google review
Float is a Pasadena staple in the lovely Burlington Arcade. The environment is pretty and inviting, good to catch up with friends or meet someone over lunch, soda, coffee/tea, or ice cream. Their menu has a good mix of sandwiches, drinks, and treats. The caprese I had was straightforward and tasty, iced tea refreshing and tart. I recommend a visit!
Susanna S — Google review
Float is a niche sandwich and ice cream float shop in an outdoor mall in South Pasadena. The area is cute and spacious to sit in. The actual establishment itself is small but inviting. They make excellent sandwiches, but be sure to order before the kitchen closes. They also specialize in floats, hence the name. If you are feeling game, pick the Float's choice, where you pick the root beer or cream Soda of your choice, and they do the rest. It was an accident finding the place, but sometimes accidents can make for the best finds.
Eric C — Google review
Walked in with a smile and said Hi to the cashier, didnt say Hello back and treated me as an inconvenience! Then kinda tossed the coffee i ordered on the counter. Fresh pastries, and hot beverage. Deliciously made hot chai tea. The owner has a great sense of humor. I had to purchase one of the awesome sauces to take home. They do have free WiFi. This cafe is small but a lot to offer. Light music is playing while I enjoyed my drink and pastries. The first 90 minutes is free parking. They’re is a lot of outdoor parking.

Quiet Lunch spot, wheelchair accessible, good for all ages, great coffee, delicious sandwiches, easy to Park area. I highly recommend this place. I had a sandwich called the Italian float and it was very good. I also had a chai latte that was iced and I had an iced vanilla latte, both were very good and very well made. I'm very picky about my coffee and I thought this was very good. Not too acidic like Starbucks.

Twohey's Restaurant is a retro American diner that has been serving classic fare and standout desserts since 1943. The restaurant features a sleek white interior with a full bar and is known for its iconic Original Stink-o burger, specially made for onion enthusiasts. Twohey's relocated to South Pasadena in October 2020, bringing its renowned soda fountain sundaes to the new location.
As LA native who haven’t been back in the city for three years, this is a perfect restaurant to visit for breakfast, lunch or dinner. You see lots of smiles and great vibe and outstanding service. Also many options for breakfast and lunch..

Just squeaked in before they closed at 9pm. I had (part of) an excellent Steak Frites with garlic fries. Tom and Denise both had the Thursday special- a really good Chicken Pot Pie, with gravy that is out of this world! We all got salads too, and that was lucky, because salads were unusually good. Split a piece of dark chocolate cake too. A fabulous meal!

This feels like the best version of a fancy diner where I would be happy eating like 10 different things off the menu. I had the prime rib dip with home made chips and both the sandwich + dip and the chips were fantastic. It ended up being a nice big plate. So good. My partner had a short rib melt and loved it. His potato salad was fantastic, with some olive oil and scallions. They have a great happy hour and since we were there early, we also had some decent margarita and mojito. We'll have to come back to this place and bring our families when we can't settle on anything else. I'm super curious about the poutine.

Held a mini high school reunion here for six at 3:30 pm on a weekday. Beat the dinner rush, plenty of free parking. Got a nice booth near the door so we could watch for people we haven't seen in a zillion years to arrive. All were easily found thanks to our location. Service was friendly. I had dessert for dinner. The large sundae with bittersweet chocolate. Cherry on top. It was yum. I snatched an onion ring, nice not greasy, lightly friend. Others ordered stuff from the happy hour menu. Everyone seemed happy. Yayyy. We were there about 3 hours. And also lingered for about 20 minutes in parking lot. Two of us chose to park on street same side as restaurant, so parking filled up fast after I arrived. The place shares a lot with other businesses. Some parking in rear. Invoke your car karma.

First time here and so seriously impressed with the ambiance, the service was first class - Brody took excellent care of our party of 8 - The food was delicious, the baby back ribs were perfectly prepared, and even our picky children loved their food too! They even had the Dodger game on for the WIN! Highly recommend and we'll definitely be back!

The food was especially good. I had a burger, and when I ate it, it tasted like heaven. It was soft, but it had the right amount of salt and other stuff. I also had the ice cream. It was pretty good, not gonna lie. The service was as fast as any other diner. It's a little long but not that bad. The place felt modern. There is a little bit of wood details here and there. But you're probably not going to notice them anyway.

I dont usually give 5 star ratings. However I've visited this place often after being introduced to it from my son who frequents Twohey's. It is always crowded! Consider that a good sign people! The atmosphere is always lively. The employee's treat everyone, regardless of race - with excellent customer service. Often times a really polite woman, who also frequents Twohey's, will engage in good conversation with customers. She may even buy you a drink or offer to buy you a dessert! Dont be surprised to learn it's the owner!! Yes! that sweet lady who engages with all customers, is the actual owner. John Haffner from Bar Rescue, would be proud of this place, I'm sure. I hung out at the bar to watch the USC game & was not dissapointed by the diverse crowd! If you are "persnickery" as I am, want good food, good atmosphere, diversity of people, & customer service where they treat you like family, stop by Twohey's in South Pasadena, You will be glad you did. Tell them you heard from Sandra this place made her recommendation list of places to eat at.

Handel's Homemade Ice Cream is a long-standing ice cream parlor that offers a wide variety of flavors, sorbets, sundaes, and shakes. Originating in Ohio in 1945, this franchise has gained a reputation for serving some of the best homemade ice cream. Despite often having long lines, the service is quick and efficient. The menu includes options like mocha almond fudge milkshakes, strawberry ice cream cones, and banana splits.
Came here with my family and oh boy the ice creams are fantastic, you won’t be disappointed, by the price, quantity, service and seating space. We bought 4 scoop which had pistachio, cotton candy, chocoholic and black raspberry chunk which costs only 8.25$ sufficient for a family of 4. This location has an amphitheater next to it which makes it a go to spot on any day.

The ice cream is fresh and delicious. All their flavors are mouthwatering. I took my 4 year old niece and she chose a strawberry ice cream. She absolutely loved it and she's really picky. The service is really fast. You don't have to wait too long. The workers are helpful and friendly. If you're in the mood for some mouthwatering ice cream you should try Handel's. It won't disappoint.

This our first time coming to Handel's Homemade Ice cream in Pasadena I know they have couple Handel's in the southland. I know Handel's is from the East coast and they stores in the Midwest their ice cream is very best using the best ingredients they use in the ice cream. The Handel's in Pasadena is very popular there's long line for their ice cream but the line goes fast but they very good selection of flavors that a hard core ice cream junkie will dream this moment in their life. We got in line and waited then is our turn we know what we want my wife got the Blueberry Clobber and I got the Lemon Bar. When we got our ice cream both of them looks so good. My Lemon Bar ice cream look on a waffle cones it taste like a lemon Bar but I can taste the lemon flavor it was good and even the Graham cracker blend in the ice cream I really enjoy it very much. My wife enjoy her blueberry clobber she say it taste like blueberry clobber on a cone very creamy she say. We need our friends and family to Handel's Homemade Ice cream.

Ordered a small lemon bar ice. Thought $8.50 was a bit pricey for a small. Oh, it's HUGE. It was a meal in and of itself. It was very sweet, and was enough to share with some else really. Would like a smaller size to be available. Hit the spot on a sunny warm afternoon, but I think I'll be skipping supper. 😆

This is not just a business it is a community partner. The owners of this location care about their employees and their community. They donate to local events and host fundraisers. When the local fires happened they were serving firefighters and helping how they could. They treat clients and employees well. Not to mention they have the best ice cream in town. It really is so creamy and delicious. I have tried over ten flavors and all of them were delicious. We have hosted multiple events at this location and they are always so friendly, accommodating and the services is amazing. If I could give 10 out of 5 stars I would.

I think I've been to one in San Diego a long time ago and didn't know it was a chain. Came here after some lunch and I couldn't finish ice cream for the first time in my life. The medium size was so large and the amount of cookie dough was so much, I could not actually finish it. I cannot imagine what a large size looks like. Definitely fantastic prices for what you get and the quality is wonderful too. Definitely recommend if you're looking to cool down in this heat. They also have some nice tables behind the store.

Sweet Cow Cafe is a delightful destination for those with a sweet tooth, offering an enticing array of ice cream, bubble tea, and desserts. Nestled in the heart of Pasadena along Historic Route 66, this charming spot boasts a modern interior that’s both inviting and stylish. While indoor seating may be limited, the outdoor areas provide ample space to enjoy your treats al fresco. The menu features an impressive selection of flavored ice creams alongside a curated list of tea drinks that cater to various tastes.
A solid spot serving a wide variety of desserts, ice cream, and bubble tea. The soft serve ice cream is good and looks nice. The interior is compact with some seating and very clean. Right across from PCC so lots of students come here at night to hang out and grab dessert. Staff are friendly, and there is even a claw machine too.
Shawn S — Google review
We used to be regulars at Milk Cow. The soft serve was creamy, decadent, and worth every penny. Then Sweet Cow bought it — and it’s been downhill ever since. First of all, the ice cream? It’s no longer ice cream — it’s ice with a dash of cream, if you’re lucky. Grainy, watery, and disappointing in a way that feels personal. You can literally taste the corporate takeover in every spoonful. It’s like they fired the cows and hired ice cubes. They didn’t just change the name — they changed everything that made Milk Cow special. What was once a hidden gem has now been stripped, rebranded, and sold back to us as a cheap knockoff. And for what? Higher prices and lower quality? The audacity. Honestly, McDonald’s soft serve — yes, McDonald’s — puts this sad Sweet Cow swirl to shame. You could buy two cones there, and they’d still cost less and taste better than the icy disaster you’ll get here. Sweet Cow, if you’re reading this: not everything needs a corporate glow-up. Sometimes, simple and authentic wins. But you didn’t just miss the mark — you lost the map entirely.

The people working here were nice; but they messed up all of our orders 😅. The ice cream was also subpar and cost $12. I asked for less, they made the swirl and then tapped it down for some reason 🥲 unfortunately, not coming back here

This ice cream/dessert/boba shop is a charming little spot across the street from PCC. The shop is clean and tidy, and while there's a kiosk for ordering, we were glad to be able to order from a person. The drinks and desserts are delicious. Overall, a great experience!

This place isn't as fancy as it looks on google. They have a lot of stuff on the menu that they don't carry anylonger, why is it still on the menu board? False hopes id say. It was ok. The girl today didn't seem too friendly, knowledgeable upbeat at her job nd or didn't seem to care at all. She was annoyed with two older gentle asked questions about the drinks and kind of snappy. Must be nice to get paid and not care!

Life is like a cup of tea, it’s all about how you make it. ;D With that said let’s begin this review. Milkcow Cafe (est.2013) is a cute little ice cream and tea shop in Pasadena. It’s located along the Historic Route 66 and PCC. Interior design was modern with an eye catching decor and layout. Indoor seats were very limited, but plenty of outdoor seats (back and front). Their menu is mostly flavored ice cream and limited tea drink. I ordered a Mango Green Tea with mango chunks/boba (75% sweetness and ice). It tasted banal and lacks the mango fruity; ice was in small amount that it melted quickly. Therefore, it became a little lukewarm. Next time I will make the necessary adjustment. Server was amiable, patient and professional. Service was on point. They have free wifi. Kiosk order available. Parking was easy. Overall, I had a decent tea drink and I wish I had ordered ice cream instead. I will come back and try other stuff.

Cute little place for some boba and ice cream! Small shop that mostly does pick up orders, there is a bit of seating. Pop ID accepted here like some other businesses, mostly in Pasadena right now. Plenty of street parking. On the pricey side of milk tea. Tried the dirty ube milk hot—it was so creamy and delicious! Would try it less sweet next time. On the pricier side for boba, but pretty high quality. Worth a try.

If you're in Old Town Pasadena and love ice cream, Salt & Straw is a must-go! They have vegan options that rotate out every month, and the staff are always willing to help you find your perfect flavor. The only downside is that they don't have any non-sugar options for those who can't tolerate sugar, but otherwise it's a great place to get your ice cream fix.
Salt & Straw Pasadena absolutely delivered. The Double Fold Vanilla was to die for — rich, creamy, and insanely satisfying. Honestly, worth the trip just for that flavour alone. They let you sample different flavours (which is dangerous in the best way), and the scoop sizes were super generous. Staff were friendly and patient, even with a line. If you’re in the area and even remotely into ice cream, go. Just go.

Came here on a weekend in the evening after FIFA Club World Cup game Monterey vs. Club Atlético River Plate. Line moved fast. Staff was welcoming and offered samples without being pushy. Tried a few flavors before ordering Scoop was about $6.50 but quality justifies it. You taste real ingredients. Small space inside, limited seating. Street benches nearby work fine. Service was fast, place was clean, and the flavors are unlike anything at regular ice cream shops. Worth the stop if you're in Pasadena. I’ll be back.

I had the most pleasant experience with Camille! This was my first time coming to this shop at the recommendation of my friend. We got helped by Camille; she was super friendly!!! She gave owner recommendations and popular combinations. I ended up going with the Goat Cheese marionberry Habanero along with Huckleberry Cornbread pudding. The goat cheese flavor is really good because it has a slight twinge of spice and is slightly salty. I thought it would be good to balance it out with the Huckleberry flavor but that turned out being too sweet for me eventually. A sample that I liked, that I would get next time is the olive oil flavor. Despite the name, it just tastes light, smooth, and kind of vanilla-y. It fits anyone who doesn't like strong flavors, it doesn't even taste strongly like vanilla but it's the best thing I could compare it to. A scoop is about 7$ but it's massive. I thought it would be small and got two scoops, but I was fully bloated by the end of eating everything.
Ying L — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Salt & Straw is hands down one of the most creative and delicious ice cream shops I’ve ever visited. Every scoop feels like an adventure. Their classics, like Chocolate Gooey Brownie and Double Fold Vanilla, are rich, creamy, and perfectly balanced. But what really makes them stand out are the seasonal flavors — you’ll find combinations you’d never expect in ice cream (like herbs, jams, or even veggies), and somehow they work more often than not. The texture is always ultra-creamy, and the mix-ins are generous without overpowering the base. I love that they let you sample before committing, which makes it fun to explore the wild flavors. The waffle cones are fresh and buttery, and the whole shop has a welcoming vibe that makes you want to linger. Yes, it’s a little on the pricey side, but you can taste the quality of the ingredients and the thought that goes into every batch. Plus, they have a real commitment to sustainability, using local and even upcycled ingredients, which makes enjoying it feel even better. If you’re an ice cream lover — whether you stick with classics or you’re ready to try something bold — Salt & Straw is a must-visit.

Stopped by for a dessert while out on Colorado Blvd on a Saturday afternoon. There was a line of about 30 people which continued onto the sidewalk. However, line was moving at a decent pace and had my ice cream within 20 minutes. This was good timing as they allowed everyone to taste multiple flavors without rushing anyone. There was a large variety of flavors from the recurring classic flavors to the limited edition flavors. Flavors were very unique and creative which causes you to be adventurous. After trying a few flavors, opted for the Peanut Butter Brittle Caramel Fudge and Chocolate Gooey Brownie in a split cup. The split cup was basically a single scoop of each which was plenty of ice cream. Flavor was delicious and the texture was very creamy. Everyone in the group was happy with their order which consisted of different flavors in both cups and cones. Nice place to come for unique and creative ice cream. Line may appear long, but moves quickly. It was worth the wait.

The brownie chocolate ice cream was good but there's a major problem here. You can't be having people with moist looking damp hands touching all over the cones with no gloves sometimes hands wet leaving moist fingerprints on the cone... Some places even have talking guards which I highly recommend since you're talking over all the ice cream. But at a bare minimum You have to be wearing gloves, especially when you're also the person taking the payment.
Michael W — Google review
A cute ice cream place in old Pasadena that serves quality ice cream. They have variety of flavors that are not common which is what makes this place unique. The staff is nice and the service is great, they recommend to taste all flavors before ordering which is really good, thumbs up for maintaining hygiene. My wife got strawberry honey balsamic with black pepper and I ordered chocolate gooey brownie in a waffle cone. They make waffle cone fresh which adds up to the taste and freshness. Portions are generous and value for money, loved both flavors, if you are in the town, don’t miss out on this place.
Devang M — Google review
The quality of the ice cream at Salt & Straw surpasses the hype! The only ice cream that I have ever had that could compare was the dessert at a farm to table fine dining restaurant. It was hand made earlier that day by a chef using local dairy and fresh berries from a nearby farm. Honestly, that is what is so cool about Salt & Straw. They focus on using fresh local ingredients. Their rotating seasonal menu is mind-blowingly good. At the time of our visit it was still berry season. The berry pie ice cream was a heavenly experience of pure food joy! My wife and I treated ourselves to dessert here on our anniversary this summer. It was busy but the line moved fast. We tried a couple of samples which to my surprise we served on metal spoons. When done you just drop them in the spoon chute which is built into the counter. What a fun feature to have reusable sample spoons. If it is your first visit I highly recommend that you focus on the seasonal menu. Everything there is hand made in small batches using the best local and seasonal ingredients so its all going to be fantastic. There is just something a bit more exciting about a seasonal menu in my opinion. I also recommend that you check out the About Us page on their website. What an amazing story. From a basement to a food cart to a gourmet ice cream chain. So, do yourself a favor and give this exceptionally excellent gourmet ice cream shop a try soon.

Kinrose Creamery is a charming spot in Old Town Pasadena, boasting vibrant decor that sets it apart. This unique LA ice cream shop offers Middle Eastern-inspired flavors that tend to be creamy rather than fruity. While some may love it, others might not. It's a polarizing treat! If you're a fan of sorbet-style ice creams, you might want to look elsewhere. To get the most out of your visit, I highly recommend sampling a few flavors before committing to a scoop.

Love the unique and creative taste at Kinrose Creamery. If you're tired of the same old vanilla and Rocky Road found in many ice cream shops and you desire a culinary adventure, then you have to try Kinrose Creamery. Old Town Pasadena already has half a dozen ice cream shop, but Kinrose stand out on its own with its Iranian-based flavors like Baklava, Qaaveh dates, and the two I chose for my ice cream, Saffron Pistachio Rose and Fig and Olive. Both of them are have a distinct natural flavor that is not laden with just sugar. The texture is pleasant and not too heavy either. Ice cream may be deceptively simple, but yummy memorable flavors go a long way. As for the decor, it's charming and not like your typical ice cream parlor.

Very unique ice cream spot if you’re looking for middle eastern based treats. I was delightful surprised by the shop itself and the various flavors. It’s a bit on pricey side for the amount you get. I’ll come back to try the others. I had the saffron pistachio rose ice cream. They do not skimp out on the pistachio. Which is fantastic because I thought it was just gonna be pistachio flavoring.

Nice flavors and staff. I ordered the saffron and the figs ice cream flavors .both were good. I think i like the ice cream to melt Less slowly. And to be more thick. Other ice cream places make the saffron ice cream better with more pistachio on top when requested. However, i like the innovation in their flavors though. Have not seen figs and olive taste in ice cream before.

So, I was out for a while without sunscreen and didn’t realize until my face and arm got pretty burnt. I went to this pharmacy looking for something to cool and soothe the burn. Had to wait in line for about 15 minutes but this lady working there suggested aloe vera gel, I decided to trust her and honestly, it helped a lot. Still, I guess I better stick to using sunscreen next time.

Fair Oaks Pharmacy is a classic location. Ice cream parlor with a real pharmacy. Brings back nostalgic feelings of the old days. They have a great selection of desserts, the portions are huge, be for warned. The ice cream is very average tasting, not to say it taste bad. They also have a selection of regular food, such as burgers and fries. The rest of the pharmacy has toys and gifts, nicnacs and other Route 66 related merchandise. I appreciate the old games and toys, the stuff you may had found in the 50’s. The atmosphere is so delightful. Fun for a date, family or just friends getting together to eat the most expensive dessert I’ve ever seen “the sink” costing a whopping $35. (See picture below)

We ordered the mango melon bowl and strawberry milk. There was a lot so good to share. The only problem was we thought since it was ice, there would be no milk, but unfortunately it all contains milk so my daughter couldn't eat it. But she ate the melon. I had the rest. It was tasty. Just maybe earn customers that all ice is milk based. 🍨

Pretty good experience as a first timer. The shaved ice was delicate and tasted refreshing. The atmosphere was clean and cool inside. It's a nice hang out spot for local kids. I would return to try the strawberry.

Oakobing is a must-try for dessert lovers! After seeing rave reviews across social media, we decided to check it out on a weeknight. It was quiet since we visited late, but that gave us the perfect chance to enjoy our dessert without the usual crowds. We ordered the green tea shaved ice with tiny mochis, and it was delicious. The texture reminded us of Taiwan night market treats, although this is a Korean dessert spot. The shaved ice was delicate and fluffy, offering a light, refreshing sweetness. The place itself is small but has a bright, modern vibe, and the service was quick and friendly. There’s paid parking available on the side, which is convenient enough. Oakobing specializes in Korean-style shaved ice (bingsoo) with many flavors and milkshake options to choose from. The portions are just right for sharing, making it the perfect spot for a sweet indulgence with friends. If you’re looking for a unique dessert experience, Oakobing won’t disappoint!
Regis K — Google review
Sooo good especially on a hot day. The injeolmi (soybean powder) was my personal favorite. The mochi that comes with some of the flavor options has the perfect texture!!
Karina F — Google review
The place was packed when we arrived and there was a wait. I came on a Saturday night. There were a lot of people and a good number of tables, but not enough for a Saturday night. We tried the melon and strawberry shaved ice. Both were good, especially when we added the milk and mochi. The melon tasted better. There's street meter parking.
K — Google review
I did really enjoy this, but it tasted a lot like everyday good ice cream. I was going for Korean shaved ice, and so was a tiny bit disappointed, like a teeny tiny bit! (I know this is shaved ice. It just seemed more like ice cream to me). It was still flavorful, huge portion, with a nice texture. I'd definitely go again. I know everywhere is packed in the area on the weekend, so there is no reason to complain about it, but just know it gets crowded and it's very small on the inside. You can go to the back of the building where there are a few picnic tables.

simply yummy shaved ice, not too sweet, add on is available. I would say a single is enough for two. Highly recommended for a dessert option if u r looking for something other than ice cream around town.

Tea house
L'moon Creamery is a charming Thai tea spot located in the picturesque Green Street Village Landmark District. The staff is incredibly welcoming, offering delightful ice cream samples upon arrival. Their soft serve ice cream, particularly the Thai tea flavor, is simply delicious. The Thai tea trophy offers a delightful mix of flavors and textures, including an intriguing addition of corn flakes. This newly opened dessert place has quickly become a favorite among locals for its unique offerings like the strawberry matcha and fire rabbit soft serves.
I recently visited L'Moon in Pasadena, and I have to say, it was an absolutely wonderful experience! From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was inviting and cozy. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our experience. The Thai inspired drinks were phenomenal — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I highly recommend trying their signature drinks, as each sip was a delightful blend of tastes. The drinks were also top-notch, with a variety of options to suit any preference. The atmosphere was perfect for both a casual meal or a special night out. Overall, L'Moon exceeded my expectations, and I can't wait to return!

This place surpassed my expectations. It's tucked away between Catalina and Windsor, on Green Street. Street parking was a bit hard to come by (I went on a Saturday at 8pm), and the store was packed when I got there, but the workers are so fast and efficient in taking orders and dispatching orders that I was placing mine in no time. I did the check in on Yelp (once outside, and again in front of the cashier, because she didn't believe I actually did, lol) and they gave me a free topping for my soft serve (usually, it's 75 cents). Also, the actual portion size was bigger than I expected (I got a medium (16 oz) soft serve Thai Tea / Milk swirl one with Oreo crumbs as the topping), so that was a pleasant surprise. Overall a great experience and will definitely be back.

Recently checked out this spot — it’s a low-key cute place. We had the Thai coffee with boba (absolutely amazing), & the strawberry matcha crème brûlée with boba, which was a wild flavor ride — definitely not for the faint of heart. Service was quick and friendly too!
Marshella H — Google review
Their thai tea soft serve is so yummy!! Very creamy and sweet but not too sweet. The thai tea was good too. They are very generous with their boba which is awesome but I wish the boba was a tiny bit softer/chewier. Easy street parking on green street and very friendly staff!
Sam L — Google review
The ice cream and chocolate chip walnut cookie are so so good! The Thai milk ice cream literally tastes like the boba Thai tea. It was like having two in one- so delicious and can’t wait to come back :)
Elham A — Google review
Wow this place is amazing! I got the chocolate walnut cookie and the Thai tea self-serve. The cookie was filled with so much chocolate and walnut and soo gooey and delicious! The self-serve ice cream tasted like actual Thai tea and was so sweet and flavorful!

(7/19/2025) First time stopping in at L’Moon Creamery for a late(ish) dessert shop (hard to find around SGV) and was blown away by the variety of drinks and, of course, their soft serve offering. The Thai Milk Tea ice cream was heavenly. You get a great portion for a small size. Also topped it off with a dark cocoa chocolate chip too (almost looks Levain-esque). The area is quite walkable and we hung out there to finish our drinks and ice cream. Staff were super friendly and worked quickly to finish our order. Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5

I want to try their Matcha since I tried the other cafes around this area. Ordered the fire Matcha with my wife. Wife ordered Strawberry fire and pointed at the picture. I ordered the original. The server at 09/24/25 time 3:45pm looked like she is in a a bad mood. Cafes around this place would accommodate any questions but she was a bit dismissive, and looked forced to answer our questions regarding our selection. She also gave the vibe that we weren't welcome or we're bothering her on a non busy time. We were the only customers so, not a stressful time. We waited for our orders, and guess what, she screwed my wife's drink. We both got fire original Matcha lattes. The server didn't even asked if she can correct the mistake -- nothing. We left because we didn't want to cause any issue. So I made this review. My drink wasn't all that and I had better Matcha drinks. This place didn't offer Oatmilk as a substitute. They only have almond milk. We opted for Whole milk since the almond milk might mess the Matcha taste. The experience with this server left a bad taste for us. We will not come back here.

Ice cream shop
Bengees is a trendy ice cream parlor known for its modern and minimalist vibe. They offer a variety of flavors, including unique options like cronut ice cream sandwiches and vegan choices. Customers appreciate the rich and flavorful ice cream, with favorites such as English toffee and salted caramel. The staff is praised for their friendly service, providing samples and helpful recommendations. Vegan options are available, making it inclusive for all customers. However, some feedback mentions inconsistent portion sizes affecting the overall value.
This is the way everyone should do ice cream. Totally standout. Tiffany displayed masterclass customer service skills, making specific suggestions that made the experience feel welcomed and not rushed. The vegan options were a huge plus being that my girlfriend doesn't eat dairy, and the world is a better place because of "ice cream"...yum yummy yum yummer. It's hot, go grab a cup of that smooth, sweet, Dutch chocolate goodness. -I like it!
Ricky D — Google review
Vegan options - unexpected surprise. The vegan une and classic mint chocolate chip were excellent. The vegan options don't really rotate but I heard the dairy-based ones do. My husband got the Ube and loved it.
Doris Y — Google review
Bengees is an amazing local icecream shop i visit quite often. Their icecream is extremely rich and they provide a unique set of flavors. The Bengees staff are very polite and welcoming. They provide samples of any flavors that sound interesting to you and would recommend a flavor that suites your cravings. My favorite flavors are the english toffee and salted caramel. They also have vegan icecream which I thought is very courteous and appealing for everyone to try. This small shop has very clean and nice interior aesthetics with big vinyl logos and quotes/slogans. Along with an instagram worthy neon sign.
Ethan D — Google review
Delicious ice cream!!! This place is incredible because they have a huge variety of vegan flavors AND dairy flavors. My favorite vegan flavors are thai tea and matcha, and my favorite dairy option is rocky road with toasted fluff on top 🍦🔥
Katherine K — Google review
the ice cream is very good definitely flavorful and a few new flavors maybe for some of you. The vegan options are also pretty good for being vegan. some of the workers there gives you pretty good-size scoops but some people give you very small scoops which makes it super expensive for two small scoops of ice cream. so if you're reading this please don't give very small scoops because that's the reason we're not going anymore that much because we don't want to pay for tiny scoops.
Bertha R — Google review
They have a variety of vegan flavors, made from soy milk. As a vegan, I really appreciated the variety and quality. I ordered the strawberry and it was very good. I would have loved to try their other flavors, which sounded great like Thai Ice Tea, Mango Lassi, Ume. It's definitely a great place for ice cream.
Josefina T — Google review
great small business-owned place.. and you can get a cronut stuffed with ice cream ! also, they have great vegan flavors.. their vegan chocolate is smooth and delicious, with the dominant flavor being chocolate (unlike some other places). highly recommended.
Rory M — Google review
Seriously delicious. I was a little hesitant to try the vegan ice cream, but boy am I glad I did. So far favorite is Amaretto almond. It is one of their vegan options. Other delicious samples were hazelnut and pistachio. The prices are very reasonable. I was pleasantly surprised.

Dessert shop
Coolhaus is a trendy ice cream shop that has made a name for itself with its inventive dessert creations and delightful coffee drinks. Since launching their food truck in 2009, they have been serving up an array of gourmet dessert sandwiches, affectionately known as "sammies." Among their standout offerings is the Fried Chicken & Waffles ice cream, which features a maple base paired with waffle cookies and homemade fried chicken caramel sauce—an adventurous treat that’s sure to excite your taste buds.
I've been coming here with friends about twice a weak for these last few before we ask leave for college. Icecream is amazing, cookies are pretty good, this place is the full package. Flavors change almost daily, but I recommend honeycomb icecream with anything, or lemon sorbet and the vegan ginger cookies!
Cyril H — Google review
Uniquely flavored ice cream choices that can be merged into several cookie options for a delightful ice cream sandwich. I love the interior design of the space which is shared with 2 other businesses. Only issue has been long waits on my Sunday visits. There has only been one staff person on a high foot traffic day in Old Town.
Andre J — Google review
To an outsider, the ice cream scene in LA is competitive with every shop having some sort of novelty flavor to help fight tooth and nail. Most of them are great experiments, but some fly too close to the sun and cause trash cans full of half-eaten cups of disappointment. COOLHAUS has a bunch of crazy flavors, but the craziest is possibly "milkshake and fries" - an attempt to replicate that feeling of a salty french fry hitting a Wendy's frostee. Against all odds, it's PERFECT. Even the skeptical in my group that never dipped their fries, were won over by this flavor. A perfect blend of malty chocolate and shoestring fries that retain their flavor and firmness (no soggy or frozen potato mouth feel), this is a flavor that'll be every grocery store in the next two years. Eat it here first!

Very unique ice cream flavors that taste surprisingly delicious!!
Keira C — Google review
At $5 a sandwich, I'm not sure what to think of these. The ice cream is clearly of good quality. However, I'm not sure If I really like the cookie, it's below par. They remind me of the type of cookies you get at your local supermarket. Not the kind in the bakery but the kind in the baked good aisle. In general, the sandwich was good, maybe a little too sweet for my taste.
E M — Google review
Great tasting ice cream sandwiches and ice cream! The price is great for your wallet too! I tried the fig and balsamic ice cream (which I didn't think would taste so good but was still curious to try it) and it was so good! I'm craving it as I am writing this review. I would definitely go back and try their different ice cream creations.
Juan S — Google review
Unique flavors like Chicken and Waffles keep me coming back to this ice cream shop. With not many dessert spots open after dinner in Pasadena, Coolhaus is a good choice and a stroll away from any restaurant in Old Town. The cookies especially Chocolate Chip are great, too! Ask for as many samples as you like if you can't decide.
Nitar L — Google review
Coolhaus has interesting flavors of ice cream; pastrami, maple fried chicken, salad, etc. That being said, I could never recommend any of them to anyone. Mint is probably my favorite flavor of ice cream, but their "dirty mint" is nasty. It's a too "dirty" for me, tastes like they didn't clean the fresh mint. What bugs me more are their "spoons". After you finally decided on which flavor you can tolerate the most, they give you a piece of popsicle wood to eat it with. You taste the wood in every bite. If you're considering going here, that means you're in Old Town Pasadena. Where there are a bunch of other frozen treat store you can go to that don't leave the taste of wood in every bite. The wooden spoon thing could work, Carmela does it perfectly. Coolhaus....... Does not. I won't be going back.
