Good Truckin' Diner, located in Lansing, MI, is a small and popular diner in Reotown known for its down-to-earth atmosphere and delicious menu. The diner offers a blend of classic American diner fare with unique twists, including street tacos, breakfast burritos, cereal milkshakes, and breakfast sandwiches. Good Truckin' Diner started as a food truck in 2014 before opening its doors as a family-owned diner in early 2015.
Fun place! There motto is, "better food, cool people", would agree Causal laid back, low key, and cool atmosphere. Would go back. We had the tacos, you could pick 3 for $11. Husband got hill Billy, n'awlins, and I got the cauliflower. Yum!! Salad was not bad just not my jam.

Went to eat breakfast after our walk. The food is good. They also make coffee drinks. Prices are reasonable. The restaurant is in Old Town in Lansing. The parking is curbside where available. You might have to walk a little. The service is good; but everything took a little time.

Wow! What an amazing place! We waited maybe 5 mins for a table and we were serviced right away! This place had everything! And as someone who is a coffee lover, having their iced latte was AMAZING! Great portions and nothing is spared!
M H — Google review
Got a chance to visit their new old town location and had a great experience as always, with a lot more space for seating! Service was quick despite being quite busy and the food was as good as always! My wife is vegan and I’m vegetarian and they have a ton of great options for us. Definitely recommend trying it out!
Nick M — Google review
This place has a great selection of very interesting foods to choose from. The menu items are named after movies and TV references. The bacon was not so great, but the biscuits and gravy are to die for! The Bourbon Street French toast the Rocky mountain omelette and the hippie hangover we're also incredible. Cali was our waitress and even though they were full and busy she stayed right on top of everything and got us everything we needed when we needed it! Do yourself a favor and try the tacos. Literally, try all the tacos.
Davidsonian — Google review
Food was good, many options but as a diner I was expecting some fruit at least. Most of the options were heavy meals and I was not in the mood but settled with a salad. Coffee was great! There is a wait but we only waited for 20-30 minutes. Place is next to a cute shopping area of Lansing. Service was 10/10. Dishes were delicious but since my dish was more plain, it’s what you could honestly make at home. There’s a coffee place attached to the restaurant if you don’t want to eat in. Would I go out of my way for this? Probably not but if I’m in the area and want good coffee, I would recommend.
Vel P — Google review
Tried this place out for lunch today! Highly recommend! Tried the Steak Fiesta Burrito! It was really good! They have a variety of coffee lattes! The waffle fries were also really good! Loved the retro vibe! The new location has lots of space. Be prepared to wait for a table on the weekend it was about 40 minutes! Overall we will be back! Try this place out!

Restaurant
The People's Kitchen is a trendy establishment that offers comforting and inventive dishes paired with artisanal cocktails, all served in a vibrant industrial setting. The restaurant stands out for its unique and original ambiance, which adds to the overall experience. The menu may be small, but each item is executed flawlessly, impressing diners with its exceptional flavors. Prices are reasonable considering the portion sizes. However, some patrons have noted that they were given an inaccurate wait time and ended up waiting longer than anticipated.
It's one of the best restaurants I've been to in Lansing. The menue is somewhat small, as is the space inside. This has allowed them to focus on perfecting their dishes and to working as a team. I loved the pork chop I had, and my girl loved her cauliflower dish. My only suggestion is if coming on the weekend get reservations. It is slower during the week or early afternoon. I will definitely be back again. Thank you for such delicious food.
Grant F — Google review
Dined here on 5/3/25 and thoroughly enjoyed it! Service was friendly, the food was great (beet salad, fish and chips for one entree, smash burger and smashed fingerling potatoes for the other). The salad was great with fresh beets and both entrees came out very hot and fresh. The menu varied greatly as did the clientele - it’s always refreshing to go to a creative, locally-owned restaurant where seniors are dining next to hipster students and everyone is enjoying themselves. I love this place and always look forward to coming back!

Beyond excited I finally got to try the place. The syrup on the waffles was out of this world. Chicken was perfectly cooked. This chorizo sandwich....its magnificent. Just order it

Truly, The People's Kitchen has to have the most delicious food in Lansing. Every dish is high quality and well made. Plus the waitstaff always gives excellent service. Do yourself a favor and go for brunch. Their pancakes are the best I've ever had. Pictured are the Espresso Martini (amazing) and the Hippie Quiche (amazing). I have tried something new each time I've gone because it's all so good.

High quality ingredients, equally amazing food. Everything I have tried here, in the hand full of times I’ve visited, was delicious! Atmosphere is causal, staff are welcoming. Our server did rush us unnecessarily when we were first seated, which was off putting, but at the end she had a better attitude. Over highly recommended restaurant! (Be advised weekday & weekend menus are different)

Unfortunately the quality of The Peoples Kitchen has gone down immensely in the past few months. We use to love it there but the past 3-4 time we have ordered from there or eaten in house, we have had terrible experiences. I think today is the last time we will be ordering from there. Last time we ate in, they gave us the wrong item and were very difficult when we asked for the correct menu item once they brought it out ( Didn't even eat it because we knew it was wrong the moment we saw it. I always order the same thing) Today we ordered out and when I got home, I saw that my eggs were raw AND there were shells just stuck all over it. Huge shells from the egg .... I am not sure how someone could miss this while cooking let alone while plating it up. The food is far to expensive to pay for something that in inedible ...

Unfortunately I was not pleased with the food at all . Let me first start off by saying our waiter was wonderful because I’m sure the actual food was not his fault . We came for my mother in laws birthday and true food was very under par , we started off with a charcuterie board which was Very mediocre ( the carrots in the pickled onions were extremely tough to chew through ) .1) I then ordered what I thought was a lamb shank and ended up being meat balls and “ risotto “ which was a scoop of rice and nothing like risotto 2) My husband had “ Risotto “ and I’m sorry but it looked like a scoop of jambalaya . Finally my mother in laws meal was fish, and she enjoyed it but to be honest the portions were extremely small for the price it’s listed for . The dessert was for free which I appreciate but the chocolate cake was extremely extremely bitter and tasted like it was store bought and not freshly made at all ! I get it’s a college town but the portions were very small and very overpriced and to me it wasn’t fair at all . They need to up the portions or lower the price especially if you have college students who don’t have the money to enjoy a good quality meal . I will not be returning to this place and it breaks my core to write this review but I’m very direct and I’m not fake .

This is a gem in Lansing for brunch. They have the best chicken and waffles I have ever eaten - I really like chicken and waffles. The menu is “elevated” American food and does not disappoint for flavor. That said, the first time I went in I was expecting a more affordable menu given it is name for the people ;P I have also had a couple unique drinks here which are also great though a tad on the expensive side. Sometimes the staff are busy and the wait can be longer than expected, so give yourself ample time. All the servers are friendly and attentive despite probably overworked.

Restaurant
Fleetwood Diner is a 24-hour eatery that serves a variety of dishes, such as breakfast, burgers, gyros, and traditional American diner bites. It is renowned for its extensive selection of omelets like the Coney and cheese omelet, as well as the ham, bacon, or sausage omelet. Additionally, they offer the original hippie breakfast consisting of eggs, toast, and hippie hash.
OMG!! The service was great, prices were very reasonable, and portions were huge. We got a Gyro that was big enough to share with 2 sides that were definitely family size $16.99. Also, we had the Saganoki - OPA Cheese too.

Second time in a week to come in to eat breakfast. This time with our daughter. Great food as always. Eggs still cooked to perfection. Place is “thick” with cooking in the air as it’s open but so worth it.
Melly J — Google review
I was very disappointed with my visit. I got the fish dinner and for $16 it is not worth it. The fries were soggy, the fish was mostly greasy batter with very little fish. We also got the chicken strips and they were terrible. They appeared to be fried in overused oil. The only good thing was the server was polite. Save yourself the trip and eat elsewhere.
Hector I — Google review
I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with my experience here. I came with two friends, and after being seated, we placed our orders. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty — only about three other tables, all of which were already eating — it still took over 50 minutes for our food to arrive. That alone was ridiculous. When my food finally came, I was shocked. I had ordered a sirloin steak, but what I got instead was a cold, unseasoned burger patty. And get this — the server even admitted it was burger meat and said that’s just what they use. That’s completely unacceptable. If it’s not steak, don’t call it steak. I felt misled and ripped off. To make matters worse, the server brought me hash browns instead of fries, and when I asked for the correct item, she came back and literally dropped a basket of fries on the table, saying, “Good thing we had some sitting on the counter!” The fries were cold, soggy, and clearly old. The entire time there I saw three homeless people walking in and out of the bathroom and even a people asking us for rides! This entire experience felt unsafe. I paid over $20 for a meal that was misrepresented, poorly made, and served with a complete lack of care. This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had, and I’ll be telling others to avoid this place entirely.

I came here from nyc, very hungry in search of meatloaf… amazing….. enough said. They were short on supplies like Parmesan for their salad, otherwise meatloaf was perfect.,,,

Had the meaty hippie hash, was filling and delicious! Also got the flaming cheese which was a sight to behold and tasty!

Easily one of the best restaurants I have been to! I am from Indiana so this is my first time coming here and I am impressed. My bacon cheeseburger was awesome and my friend got the stuffed French toast and omg! So good! Definitely coming back here soon!
Aryn D — Google review
My husband and I have been wanting to try this restaurant, but I was disappointed. The food is good with attentive servers. My husband ordered the Hippie Hash breakfast. He did like it. My food was okay. The food is 3 1/2 stars 🌟. For the amount of food on the plate, it's overpriced. I might go back; I'm not sure.

Breakfast restaurant
Blondie's Barn is a fantastic breakfast spot that offers a wide range of delicious options. Their Red Velvet Latte is an absolute delight, and their Hot Chocolate is made from the finest ingredients. The food is homemade and served in generous portions, ensuring you'll have leftovers to take home. Whether you choose to have breakfast or lunch here, you can expect great quality and taste. The staff at Blondie's Barn are friendly, warm, and fun to be around.
The breakfast at this establishment was truly delightful. Our server, Jenn, was exceptionally courteous and provided invaluable assistance in selecting our food items. Despite the fact that our entire party had not yet arrived, she graciously offered to make any necessary changes to accommodate their preferences. Fortunately, no alterations were required. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience and look forward to visiting again.

Lovely place to breakfast! I like the barn vibe here, vintage 🤩 A lot of choices of foods and beverages. The waitress is so nice 👍 The coffee is great, my favorite is sugar daddy 🤭 caramel machiato Food tasted delicious and the price is not expensive
Nada Z — Google review
First time here and everything was just ordinary, at best. To begin with it was very warm inside, they have wall units but it just wasn't enough. Server messed up on almost everything we ordered but they were minor issues. Missed a drink, didn't take off the one item from my sandwich I wanted removed (could have been a kitchen mistake though), and we asked twice for more of an item before she brought it back. Pancakes at home are better. Spent over $50 and it just wasn't worth it for 4 total meals.
Shawna Z — Google review
The food is amazing, and you get large portions. If you want a doggy bag or if you just want to have a very filling meal, this is the perfect place. My omelet was delicious, and I took the recommendation from Laurie with the seasoned potatoes. The pancakes have great flavor, and they have a slight sweetness, which I love. Laurie is amazing and such a sweetheart. I felt like I was going to my aunties house, and her genuine smile and personality made me feel like home. She is a treasure and I hope to see her each time. The booths are a little tight, but the tables are great too for wheelchairs. I saw them move tables around for a larger party, and they have separate areas as well. The restaurant is pretty clean, much cleaner than Cracker Barrel, and it's a cozy and relaxed atmosphere.
Stela M — Google review
They provide close to a perfect breakfast with really good country style and slightly delightful coffee.
Claire G — Google review
Blonde’s Barn is one of our absolute favorite spots! This family-owned and operated restaurant has a warm, welcoming atmosphere that’s perfect for gathering with friends and family. We usually go once a week—most weekends—for a late breakfast or early lunch, and they also open a few nights a week for dinner. Every visit is just as enjoyable as the last! The prices are very fair, the staff is always friendly, and the genuine family feel makes you feel right at home. We often stop by around 1 PM, which gives us a chance to chat with the staff and even the owner before closing—it truly feels like visiting friends. We always enjoy our time here, and I’m confident you will too!
Michael D — Google review
Large portions and affordable. Menus are under glass on the table, so if you have vision problems, be prepared. Didn't have to wait long to get waited on or for our food to come out. However, our waitress never came back to check on us. I had to finish my meal with nothing to drink because I couldn't get a refill. We waited an additional 15 minutes after we were done eating before we could flag our waitress down for our check. We went on a Saturday, so I might try them again on a week day to see if the service is a little better. Having said that, the food almost makes up for the service.

Nestled in the heart of Lansing, this beloved spot has become a go-to destination for both locals and students seeking hearty breakfast and lunch options. With its inviting counter seating and friendly atmosphere, Sparty's offers an array of delicious dishes, including their famous Coney Island hot dogs.
Let’s just say I was not expecting this to be SO GOOD! My bf and I went and he got a huge omelette it was jam packed with the fillings and the potatoes were absolutely on point!! The pancakes were ginormous and our server was calm, collected, and super cool even when the restaurant was pretty busy. Thank you to Noah for a great dining experience! We will be back and appreciate the hard work 💗

Best hometown Breakfast in town! Heart of MSU Spartans campus! Owners and Staff treat you like family. Noel is our favorite waitress and takes care of us every time we are lucky to get her. The whole atmosphere is family oriented and help each other out like we are at “grandma’s house” for breakfast or lunch! Clean and organized for how small and how much traffic comes through!

Great Coneys, both the Detroit and Flint style. I came in and sat down, less than 2 minutes later the waitress was taking my order, 5 minutes later my food was on the table. A Great spot to hit for lunch while working downtown Lansing. This is definitely on my lunchtime rotation.
Patrick E — Google review
This was a BEAUTIFUL ( food wise ) place to find while in town. The food was on point. I like my Eggs scrambled real soft, and that us how they showed up, the gravy on the chicken fried steak was were it should be, in flavor, thickness, and the amount of sausage in it. The wife's veggie omelet, with a side of Chile cheese fries, was so on point as well. We consume more than we normally would because it is good. Our waitress was kind enough. She came to the table often enough for refills, and the other waitress was checking with the coffee pot. Anytime we are in town, this will be one of our new normals.

5 stars definitely 😎💓 Excellent free customer Wi-Fi here, that is much appreciated. Update 9 Sept '25 Brandy and Wayne are awesome. Happy employees who quietly sing along with the soft rock playing on the radio is always a good sign 😁. Food was amazing, not many cooks can properly brown hash browns or American fries, but mine were perfect ✅. Had cheese omelette, dry wheat toast w/ Strawberry jam, American fries with a side of their homemade sausage gravy 😋, and hot black tea. The extra creamer cup of hot water is a nice touch, gives you room for a bit of ice and a refill. Well done everyone, I still love this place 💓 Older reviews... Amber and Heather are great, thanks 😊 Crew is friendly, professional, experienced, awesome, well trained, and very fast even when it's at 100% capacity ( which is often) . Food is delicious, very clean place, love the open diner seating and the counter area. Prices normal for good quality food. Owner is nice and seems to works well with the crew. Too bad the hours are limited. May not be easy to find an reliable evening crew in this area , tbh... Try to keep the counter clean, and check the silverware, my butter knife was not clean. I did work here years ago when Sparty owned it , I had fun and made a little $. The crew was awesome back then too...
Robert B — Google review
The food was not good at all. I ordered two pancakes, scrambled eggs, against my better judgement had bacon. It took me far too long to cut up the pancakes. I have never experienced a breakfast so bad. I thought by taking it with me it would be better later. So once I was done with my business there and headed home I ate the food hours later and the pancakes still gave a challenge with cutting them down further. The eggs were horrible. They reminded me of wax eggs you see on TV. The bacon was far too hard for my teeth. I don't eat pork and THAT BACON made me realize why I don't. Now the orange juice was delicious it had the right amount of pulp how I like and it was cold. My waitress was sweet and she made sure she checked on me. So I gave her a tip for that. But that food I ordered let me down big time. I was already there a hour early and just wanted something to eat before I conducted the business at hand. But generally the overall feel of the place was nice and I can tell people frequented their often and knew what to order, whereby I didn't. So I will leave you with this, if you should go make sure you know what to order. Because it doesn't seem all bad. The price was I thought that was quite pricey. I don't believe that it was handicap accessible. And it was overall clean it had a fresh smell to it also so I was impressed by that.

Looking for an authentic Detroit style coney dog but can’t get to downtown Detroit? This is the place. As good or better than any I’ve had in Detroit area. Also serve Flint style. Fast friendly service. Great classic diner breakfast place. Warning: the hotcakes are HUGE and delicious!

On a whim we stopped at Spartys for brunch. Some of the prices shocked us (the meatlover omelet for $17.50) but then other prices were great. My husband got the smoked sausage omelet and I got the gyro with onion rings. We shared a plate of chili cheese fries. I was surprised that the gyro didn't come with feta on it so I added it. I was pleasantly surprised by how much feta they put on it, as well as how much tzatziki was on it. I have been craving a gyro and I was not disappointed at all. My husband was pleased with his omelet as well. The chili cheese fries were underwhelming I would say. Not a lot of flavor at all. The server was friendly and attentive without being annoying.

If you're on the hunt for a delightful breakfast experience in Lansing, look no further than Flap Jack Shack. Nestled in the Frandor Shopping Center, this charming eatery is known for its extensive menu that caters to both breakfast and lunch lovers alike. Diners rave about the generous portions and affordable prices, making it a go-to spot for those craving hearty meals. The atmosphere is lively yet welcoming, with friendly staff who ensure you feel right at home from the moment you walk in.
I had a great experience here today. THE place to go for breakfast in Lansing. Great prices, a wide variety of both breakfast and lunch options, sweet and savory. I was greeted immediately and my server was at my table to check in minutes after sitting down. I was impressed. The restaurant was busy but food came out fairly quick. I received exactly what I ordered and was surprised by how big the portions were in comparison to price. Everything was crispy and delicious! Thank you for staring my day off on a great note!

Overall a great experience. The atmosphere was peaceful, well lit, and, aesthetically pleasing. The wait staff was kind and attentive. They had a large menu, with a great variety of breakfast and lunch offerings. I ordered a build your own omelette with sausage, mushrooms spinach, tomato, and, cheddar. The omelette was cooked well and tasted great. This place has a few little touches that set it apart from other breakfast spots in the area. They left a full pot of coffee at the table for me to drink at my leisure and almost all of their breakfast offerings had an option of a small stack of pancakes in lieu of toast. I appreciated that option especially, as I often have a hard time choosing between a sweet and savory breakfast and here I could get the best of both worlds. Really the only things I didn't care for were that they didn't offer real butter (the table had individual containers of whipped spread) or real maple syrup (maple flavored corn syrup), which are minor gripes really. Definitely worth coming back to check out other things on their menu.

Classic old school breakfast spot in East Lansing. Our service was top-notch (Bill was awesome and they accommodated our party of 12 without hesitation). Party members tried flap jacks, baked oatmeal, omelettes, breakfast quesadilla, French toast, hashbrowns, and skillets. Everything we had hit the spot, there was no disappointment. Overall, worth the stop whether you live in the area or you’re just passing thru.

My breakfast place when I visit East Lansing. I am from Texas and I do love their soft chicken fried steak.
Carlos M — Google review
I am usually happy with the food here. This morning I had a craving for steak and eggs. I ordered my steak to be medium, which means cooked most of the way through with maybe a little pink in the middle. No? In any event, the steak was very red and raw. It was chewy and rubbery like raw meat usually is. I didn't send it back, but chewed and chewed the little piece of rare meat. Who knows what happens to your food when you return it to the kitchen? Please teach your line cooks what the difference is of rare, medium rare, medium, and well done steaks are. It's not the waiters fault...

Large place with no breaks in the building, so the restaurant is very loud when full. Old-style restaurant booths and tables. The place could be cleaner. My friends and I received dirty coffee mugs. I wasn't pleased with the quality of food vs. the price of it. You're better off eating at home. At least the service is good.

I'm not a huge fan of the pancakes and they are a bit too thick for my preference but everything else was good. If you love big, fluffy pancakes you will probably enjoy it there.

Great restaurant with fast, friendly service! Flap Jack has been serving the greater Lansing area for years and their food is always hot, fresh and well prepared and is also very budget friendly! If you're looking for a nice family style restaurant, Flap Jack Shack is your new go to eatery!

Dan's Coney Island is a charming locally owned restaurant located on the South Side of Lansing. It offers a delightful selection of American comfort food, including generous portions of French Toast and Cinnamon Roll Pancakes. The friendly staff provides excellent service, and customers praise the quality and quantity of the food. While some have noted minor issues with specific dishes, overall, it is considered a perfect family diner with delicious offerings such as Reuben sandwiches and perfectly cooked Home Fries.
The signs on the wall are fun. "Eat here or we'll both starve". But the food is really good. THIS is how you do a home cooked meal. Breakfasts are great and served anytime. I had the ham egg cheese bacon burger and it was awesome.

Solid diner food! This is a clutch breakfast/ lunch spot. They let me dine in despite arriving 1445. (A business should but not all do close to close.) I got the burger, fries, soup, and coffee. I would recommend. Prices are super reasonable. Service is kind and quick. Fries are fresh cut and one of the best in the area! Italian lentil soup was delicious. Their hamburger meat is fresh and accessories were well appropriated. They are not scamming you on add-ons. They hook it up!! The only down side is lack of seasoning in the meat, which isn’t a big deal. I’d come again and had a very nice lunch! Thanks Dan’s Diner cooks and staff!

We ate here for a Saturday morning 🌄 breakfast. The food was super good. Food itself was tasty and fresh. The cinnamon roll pancakes are to die for. Scrambled eggs were fluffy with crispy bacon. The service was wonderful. The inside of the restaurant needs some help. It does not have a nice atmosphere. We will be back to try more delicious 😋 food. 4 1/2 🌟 The prices are reasonable

My favorite place to get breakfast! I usually call to pick up and I wish I knew her name sweetest lady with light blonde hair to her shoulders. She's there everyday and always makes sure I have everything. I might cry if you guys ever close all the other coneys are nasty 😭 below is the Dans special on two different occasions. There is no where else I can get potatoes/hash browns like this!

Absolutely delicious food, and a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. Plenty of parking. Staff works very hard and keep everything friendly and very homey. The breakfast menu is large and covers two pages, make sure to look at them both, there are plenty of options. In regards to the food, I cannot say enough about how good the french fries were. Not due to fancy seasonings, but the french fry itself was as good as I have ever had, the person I was eating with agreed, although they liked their french toast very much also. I will be back, and encourage you to do the same.

Dan's Coney Island has been a staple in the lansing area for many, many years. The food is very good and very affordable. I had the all meat omelet, I asked for tomatoes to be added. I was pleasantly surprised when the omelet was brought out. The amount of tomatoes was impressive. Most other places scatter a tablespoons worth in the omelet. This one looked like they used the entire tomato. It was delicious.

Great, well priced food and always awesome service. They make us feel like family each time we're there. Whether you're choosing breakfast, lunch, or dinner items there menu has something for every occasion.

I love eating breakfast here but I wish they'd pay more attention to how they cook their eggs. I order over medium because their over easy has runny egg white, and unfortunately so does their over medium. I'd order over hard but they'd probably get that exactly how it should be cooked and that's not what I want.

The standout feature of Anna's House - Okemos is the delectable brown sugar butter that accompanies their dishes, taking them from good to excellent. The charming ambiance and tasteful decor create an inviting atmosphere, while the cleanliness and ample seating ensure a comfortable dining experience. The extensive menu offers both traditional favorites and unique options, catering to a variety of tastes. It is advisable to add your name to the wait-list online prior to arrival due to its popularity.
As a gluten free person, I always wanted to try this brunch place out! When I tell you my gluten-loving friends were in heaven as much as I was, I mean it. The server marked my food as GF for my celiac which was perfect. I never had any reaction to the food here, and I plan to return again whether to sit down or take out. Speaking of eating in, the interior is the cutest 60s diner but doesn’t offer a ton of seating. I recommend joining the online waitlist. We joined it 20 minutes early and still waited another 20 at the restaurant. Still worth the wait for me! The fresh squeeze orange juice is delicous and worth the higher price than the regular orange juice.

My husband and I had breakfast on a weekend. It was good food, excellent service and atmosphere. I enjoyed the atmosphere and the fine food. They offer numerous varieties of breakfast items and smoothies. We had pancake combos with hash browns. I think it was a little pricey; but the experience was good. We'll go back. The cinnamon roll we took home to eat later was good. I was disappointed in the roll. We have had better.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ **Anna’s House** — a magical land where breakfast and lunch battle it out for my affection every time I walk through the door. Do I want crepes or a sandwich? Sweet or savory? Do I start with a cinnamon roll or end with one? (Trick question: both.) And the best part? Almost *everything* is available gluten-free. YES—gluten-free cinnamon rolls, gluten-free crepes, *gluten-free breakfast lasagna*. That’s right—breakfast. lasagna. The coffee? Always superb. The vibes? Bright, cheerful, and cozy enough to make you consider giving up your kitchen forever. I’ve visited multiple Michigan locations and haven’t been disappointed once. If you’ve got food allergies or need special accommodations, this place is like the Disneyland of dining—only with fewer crowds and more waffles. If you haven’t been yet, *run*—don’t walk. (Unless you're full. Then waddle.)
Amy K — Google review
Best breakfast in Okemos! Tons of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. I tried the vegan breakfast tacos and they're terrific! The service is quick and friendly and the dining area has a lively, fun, and casual vibe. I can guarantee I'll be back... probably more than once!
Adam R — Google review
We had decent service at Anna’s House—our order was taken quickly, but the food took quite a while to come out. When it finally did, I was honestly shocked. My “waffle” looked like something fit for a toddler—tiny, underwhelming, and definitely not worth the price. My boyfriend’s eggs Benedict were decent, but nothing special. What really pushed it over the edge was the bill—almost $50 for two meals that were just okay. To make it worse, I paid $1.25 for three blueberries on top of my waffle. Yes, three. For that price, I expected a lot more food and a better overall experience. It wasn’t terrible, but it absolutely wasn’t worth the price. There are plenty of other breakfast spots that give you better portions, better value, and faster service.
Lola T — Google review
Waw, always crowded here! You need to be patient is coming for breakfast because there is a long line. Sometimes if you lucky and you want you can get the bar seat so no need waiting in the line for table. They have a lot of choice in menu. The lavender coffee is great. Love this place vintage vibe, the service and foods is great. But a little bit pricey here, but worth it to try!
Nada Z — Google review
The food is always delicious with many healthy options including vegan and vegetarian options. The pancakes are yummy! I regularly rotate between the breakfast burrito and the chicken sausage tater tot casserole. The service is prompt and friendly. Prepare to wait a while for a seat on weekend mornings and bring a sweatshirt as the space is often chilly.

I came in on my lunch to order just one cinnamon roll since I saw it advertised here on google maps when looking at this location. Each staff member I spoke with was quiet, short and unfriendly. Everyone is walking around looking depressed… I signed the check at 12:10 and got my cinnamon roll 10 minutes later with no icing or anything on top. Not sure why it took so long but…here we are. it’s more like a cinnamon bread that tasted microwaved .

Sophias House of Pancakes is a lively diner that offers a wide range of breakfast options, including Greek dishes, steaks, and classic American favorites. In addition to their famous pancakes, they also serve indulgent Belgian waffles with creative toppings. Customers rave about the fluffy omelettes and blueberry pancakes filled with fresh fruit. While some found the crepes overly creamy, others enjoyed the tasty stuffed French toast and flavorful skillet dishes.
Absolutely Worth the Trip! We made the drive from Ann Arbor just to have breakfast at Sophia’s House of Pancakes—and once again, it did not disappoint! Last time I enjoyed a delicious skillet, but this time I went with the Greek salad with gyro—so fresh and flavorful. My daughter ordered a cheeseburger and fries, and she loved every bite. The restaurant is spotless and welcoming. As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted by Marinella and her warm, wonderful smile. Thanasis works his magic in the kitchen, cooking up amazing meals, and George, the owner, goes out of his way to make sure everything is just right. The food is absolutely delicious, and the staff is incredibly friendly and efficient. It’s more than just a meal—it’s a great experience. Totally worth the trip. Thank you for the hospitality and another fantastic meal!

I came for breakfast on a Monday. It was a 3/4 full. Not a long wait before I was greeted and seated. The waitress was timely yet not so vocal. Food came hot, fresh, and good. I ordered the Sophia's combo with bacon, French toast, scrambled eggs with cheese, and American potatoes. However, I received hash browns instead. I didn't mention it. It was OK.

A good old local favorite. The atmosphere is a little rundown in spots, but the pricing and amount of food you get is worth stopping to try it at least once. The lot is usually packed.
Grant F — Google review
I got a skillet that came with a side of pancakes. I went on Mother’s Day weekend so it was pretty busy. The food was good - you get a lot for a serving. I would say adding toppings to the pancakes is a bit more on the pricier side (~$3/topping). Overall would go again
Julia — Google review
I believe some of the younger staff could benefit from having some perspective. I understand to obtain Service as a restaurant you have to work together, but I am there to eat a meal. The young dark-haired gal that was my server made physical contact with me four times and had her arms over my plate six times. I was planning on ordering more food but it was very difficult to consume what I had already ordered. My sister flew into town from Utah for an event, and to take me to breakfast. I had had good service at Sophia's in the past so I recommended the restaurant. The food is always good but I can no longer recommend the service. My server had no perception of my comfortability as someone dining. I was waiting for her to offer me more napkins. Nope. Just kept bumping into me, and reaching across my plate so she can move on. Lame.
Brian R — Google review
The food was decent. I got the western omelet and the meat and veggies were barely sautéed and overall lacked flavor. Some of my hash browns weren’t cooked all the way, so if I go again I’ll ask for extra crispy. We were also seated at a table right by the door and near the kitchen, so it was a busy area, but also seemed like too many tables in general for the space.

Denny's is a beloved casual diner chain that serves up classic American comfort food, making it a go-to spot for all-day breakfast enthusiasts. Diners rave about their signature dishes like the Build Your Own Grand Slam, which allows you to customize your meal just the way you like it. Many patrons have praised the kitchen staff for consistently delivering perfectly cooked items, such as crispy bacon and delicious hash browns.
My husband and I came in today a little after 9am. There was only 1 server at the time. She was really nice, and got everything correct. She had a total of 7 tables and one of the tables was an older couple and they left after getting their drinks; the lady said very loudly that this Denny’s is going to get a 1 star review. I was very upset with them. I was a server when I use to live in Virginia. There was 1 server taking care of 7 tables and just because she didn’t come back right away to take their order doesn’t mean just walk out and complain loudly to the point of everyone looking at you and waking up a baby. I don’t know if the older lady is actually going to do a 1 star review today but I will say to just ignore that review; she was rude and disrespectful. I once had to take care of 10 tables at once on my own. People need to think of others not just themselves. So I’m sorry for that server this morning. But she was really sweet, great at getting everything correctly. I would love for her to be my server again.

I went with my significant other for a breakfast date that turned bad.. my food was overwhelmed with chocolate in the pancakes, His food was made multiple times for being undercooked! They served raw meat! It looked clean until we got to our seating as there was dirty tables and booths. I am not impressed. Did talk to a manager and got his meal taken off the total! Thank you!
Melissa M — Google review
I took myself an a solo date to Denny's. The food was amazing. Bacon came out crispy just as I requested. I was greeted and served with a smile. My issue is servers who have dog or cat hair all over their clothing serving food. If you know you have pets that shed and there is hair in you car or your house... don't put on your work clothes until you get to work. It is unsanitary to be in and out of the kitchen where food is prepared and serving food with your clothing full of pet hair.
Ldwalton75 — Google review
They need to teach the staff to cook more than one strip of bacon at a time... Went on a regular Thursday morning. Not busy but took a few minutes to get greeted. Sat down and then proceeded to wait over 45 minutes for my food. I finally left without my food as I had other things to do that sit at Denny's for 2 hours. More people left without their food in frustration than actually ate there! The same with takeout orders they kept telling them that wasn't ready blah blah blah (people came back 15 minutes later to still wait). No reason with the amount of volume on a fall weekday in Lansing to have this kind of incompetence. Starts at the top with ownership and management. PS.... please don't ask me to contact any corporate numbers for more information. Reread my review if you don't clearly understand what needs to be done. Understaffed and not trained properly.
Jeff W — Google review
The server was on his first day on the floor, they kept seating his section. He was very sweet and tried his best but even though the manager was at the food window, he would not run food causing our food to only be warm on top and cold throughout. The staff was swearing at one another to the point that it was heard by everyone in my section. When I spoke to the manager he did not care just said he will take all the food off the check. Not a good experience except for the sweet server.
Michelle K — Google review
When we went they were lined up out the door, had two trainees and only one waitress and I think the manager that was explaining everything to each person and making sure they had a little extra time to accommodate. We were seated shortly after we got there and actually received great service. The food was great and the employees remained in pleasant moods, even though they were overwhelmed. I always love the food at this location. Rarely disappointed.
Samantha M — Google review
Ordered from here twice, the first time the food was great and still warm and milkshakes were delicious. The second time the food was cold, milkshakes were melted and watered down, the bananas for my pancakes were soggy might as well have been baby food. I've been calling for the past few days and the staff (mainly night shift) can't seem to answer their phone ever. Finally got through to a manager and she wasn't the friendliest and questioned why I didnt contact them before. Whoever made our food the first time needs a raise. Whoever made it the second time along with staff that night, do better.
Madison G — Google review
The food was alright. The hash browns were super thin and over done with a very oily flavor to them. The eggs were also too buttery with the cheese incorporated into the eggs it just tasted odd. The bacon was very crispy and the sausage was cooked and tasted fine! The French toast was not that delicious to be honest. The coffee was very delicious and the waitress was very nice
