Best cupcakes we've had perhaps in decades. We tried the "Chocolate Doom" and "Razmanian Devil" flavors and both cupcakes were exceptionally moist, light and airy with a perfectly balanced, and topped with a not overly sweet rich, creamy, smooth frosting, which enhanced the cake flavors. Worth going out of your way to try. See my posted photos if you need further pursuasion.

The chocolate peanut butter and dirty chai cupcakes weren’t quoted as best sellers or favorites of the employees, but both were really excellent! The strawberry, dulce de leche, and blueberry lemon are popular choices. Our flat whites were excellent too. The employees were nice enough to explain what a tallat is (a Spanish coffee drink similar to a cortado) despite the long line behind us.

We are visiting from Az and never just sit and go to a coffee shop but we were recommended to this place from someone who worked at the Barnes & Noble up the street and we could not be more happy with the recommendation. The coffee & the pastries are out of this world plus gluten free and vegan options are a plus. We have been here 3 times and if we lived closer we would be regulars!

A Sweet DC Icon That Still Deserves the Hype Baked & Wired is a Georgetown must for anyone with a sweet tooth—or a serious love for great coffee. Back in the heyday of DC’s cupcake craze, the debate was always Georgetown Cupcake vs. Baked & Wired. Personally? I think Baked & Wired still wins. The cupcakes are generous in size, super moist with just the right amount of frosting (not too sweet, not too skimpy), and each flavor is paired with a cute, hand-illustrated sign that makes choosing feel like a mix between a gallery visit and a dessert decision crisis. The vibe? Artsy, bustling, and delightfully chaotic. Be prepared: it’s almost always crowded. I don’t think I’ve ever visited when it wasn’t packed. The line moves quickly, but it’s definitely not the place for lingering inside—unless you’re lucky enough to snag a coveted seat. I managed to grab a spot outside, which felt like winning a little cupcake lottery. Also worth noting: the coffee and tea game here is strong. So whether you’re stopping by for an afternoon pick-me-up or a treat-yourself moment, it’s always worth the wait. Baked & Wired is one of those rare places that has stood the test of time in DC—and continues to deliver.

If you are going to get cupcakes in DC come here! We got the cherry blossom and the German chocolate and both were delicious. Both were soft and moist. Completely different tastes but both very good, and fit their names.

BEST cupcakes in dc! These taste so fresh and delicious. I recommend these to anyone that visits or is looking for a sweet treat. My favorite flavors are the lemon blueberry, carrot cake and red velvet. They also have delicious coffee, biscuits, and their cheesecake brownie is to die for!! They were super helpful when it came to my mom’s allergy accommodations as well

We were searching for a bakery that offered vegan desserts for a very special book-launch event. Our son just launched a book, "Harmony and Light: 10 Meditations for a Peaceful and Purposeful Life," that has a large focus on health and wellness, so, it was very important to us that the sweets be vegan and taste good! After sampling cupcakes at a few bakeries with vegan options, we decided on Sticky Fingers because of their wide selection of cupcake and cookie flavors and because their cupcakes were a good size (not too large and not too small). We ordered three dozen assorted cupcakes and 20 assorted cookies, and we were very happy in the end becuase our guests loved all the treats! The cupcakes were moist and tasty and the cookies were delicious. All the treats were very attractive. Our guests were pleasantly surprised to learn that everything was vegan and nut-free because everything tasted so good. The service was personalized and polite. The bakery filled our order in one day and everything was ready on schedule and in time for our event. We would recommend Sticky Fingers Sweets & Eats to others seeking tasty vegan, nut-free sweets, and we will certainly order from this bakery again.

An attractive little shop offering a good number of vegan and gluten-free baked goods. Worth trying if you're in the area. Located very near to Donut Run as well if you're making a vegan pilgrimage to the area and have a sweet tooth!

I enjoyed what I got from sticky fingers. I love the rotating menus, making it exciting to come back and see what they have. I the inside is very small so it's definitely a takeout spot. The staff is excellent friendly and welcoming making it an easy recommendation. I will definitely be returning soon.

A delicious vegan bakery located across the street from a metro station and close to multiple bus stops. Has awesome seasonal options as well as savory treats.

Do not go here. Stale baked goods and worse customer service. I was a regular customer for almost 10 years and due to my last experience I will never return and will no longer recommend this bakery. I ordered a cake for pick up and purchased cupcakes in store and they were very stale. I picked up the cake on Sunday, I called the bakery the next morning to get a refund and I was told the manager would call me back. I received no call back, so I left a voicemail later in the day. Still no call back so I left feedback via email the following day. Still no response. I called the bakery again on Thursday and was told I would get a call back before noon. I received a call back from the store owner, Doron, at 1:30 that day and was on the phone for 10 minutes because I was being questioned if I knew how vegan cakes were supposed to taste and that the cake was fresh. She asked for photos, I texted her photos. She still questioned me about how I served the cake to imply that it was my fault the cake and cupcakes were stale. She asked me to bring the cake in for a refund. I did, and was told by the manager Mel that the refund would be issued once Doron came in at 1pm. I even forwarded my receipt to Mel because they could not find my transaction. I texted the owner to let her know when I was coming in and when I dropped off the cake and received no response. Guess what? Still no refund. The name sticky fingers is fitting: they stole my money and refuse to give me a refund. Do not go here, they want to ignore customers to avoid confronting the fact they are selling old desserts. Edit: After emailing the bakery again and sending another text to Doron I finally got a response. She argued with me through text stating that she issued a store credit that Friday, but sent me a screenshot showing that the email was sent the following Monday to the incorrect email address. Then stated she never agreed to refunding me. I told her that I had evidence proving the opposite. Then she said she would issue the refund once I removed this review which I declined to do. She eventually did issue the refund. Between calls, emails, and texts, I contacted the bakery 14 times and 9 days later the refund was issued. I apologize for the long review but I felt a duty to warn others about this place.

Had the chance to check out Sticky Fingers recently, so here’s the scoop! First off, the spot was super easy to find, but parking? Yeah, a bit of a struggle. The moment I walked in, though, the smell hit me—so good! I decided to try the s’mores cookie, and while it tasted great, it was a little harder than I’d like. Still, the vibe of the place was cool enough to make me want to come back and try more. Oh, and their business card? It’s literally a cookie. Genius.

I'm on vacation and I had heard about this place years ago and wanted to try as I enjoy supporting good vegan establishments. Apparently, the reviews are mostly old and not to be trusted, and unfortunately Sticky fingers does not really post updates on social media anymore so there is no way to know about daily menu items or any other changes. We took a 30 min. train to get here only to leave with nothing because the employee could not answer even the most basic questions. The only answer for all my questions was "I don't know". I was quite put off. And just so people know, there is no breakfast nor are there donuts on weekends in this location, as I had read in the reviews. Maybe they had/have another location, but the employee didn't know. Like I said, most reviews are months old and apparently a lot has changed. Also, the answers from what I assume is the manager to some of the less favorable reviews are appalling. Customer service is definitely not a priority here.

Group of friends got lunch here and sat at the outside tables on a glorious weekday. Apparently the fresh loaves of bread are fabulous but lunch is mediocre. My premade beet salad with walnuts and gorgonzola and lots of fresh greens was tasty but the oatmeal cherry cookie was poor: overcooked and dry, zero taste of cherry and way too salty. A friend with the ham and cheese baguette said the baguette was fabulous but the meager portion of ham and cheese left him feeling as if he was just eating bread. Others who had gotten the bagel and lox were not impressed with the bagel nor the lox nor the other items on the bagel such as the mildly pickled red onion slice.

Don’t order the runny egg unless you know you like a barely cooked scrambled egg that’s pooling in liquid. The English muffin or bagel gets drenched and soggy. And I like my scrambled eggs not fully cooked, but this is another level. We mentioned how both my wife and I couldn’t eat it to two of the staff and they were like “yeah, it’s called a messy egg, duh.” It’s even worse with the cheese - too salty. And the mashed avocado isn’t good either. Nor is the homemade lox. And the Counter Culture coffee isn’t amazing either. I don’t often write reviews like this, it’s just my 5th time giving these sandwiches a chance because I love this neighborhood gem and hold out hope I might like their breakfast as a treat once in a while. I love the retail options (though expensive) and the baked goods are great, which is why I gave 4 stars. And it’s expensive. And want to warn people away from the messy egg unless you know it’s your thing!

My uncle picked up plain and chocolate croissants for me to try. Place was crowed and outdoor seating is limited. Most disappointed that my croissants were on the burnt side. For a popular bakery I was not happy. From what I can tell seems like a very good quality set of ingredients, but to over bake pastries is just unacceptable. Chocolate chip Cookies were good and chewy. They offer wide variety of baked goods to try.

Got the Ube Matcha which was very good, but it is on the sweeter side if you like that. I got a bagel with eggs and cheddar and the eggs were literally liquid. Couldn’t finish it because I felt I was eating raw eggs and definitely not my style. The bagel itself was good and the people working there were nice

Bread Furst is a true DC gem on Connecticut Avenue. The quality of everything—from the flaky pastries to the savory prepared foods—is exceptional. My favorites are the canelés and baguettes, which are on par with the best boulangeries in France. They also carry an excellent selection of European wines and gourmet delicacies that transport you straight to a market in Paris. Prices are definitely on the higher side, so it’s more of a Sunday indulgence than a daily stop—but always worth it.

A dry and pre-made sandwich can be yours for $15! You won’t know that when ordering though- prices are hidden for everything. Looking for mayo/pickles/onions? Good luck - no add-ons available! The good news is the service - the cashiers seem to be wise to the fact that this place is a complete tourist trap, if only I had done more research beforehand. Definitely skip!

Bread Furst is a must-visit for anyone in the Washington D.C. area who appreciates exceptional baked goods. From the consistently outstanding bread & savory options, it offers a delightful and authentic European bakery experience.

I ordered their dozen cupcakes for my sisters birthday because she loves cupcakes..... There was supposed to be one of each of their cupcakes and we were really excited to do a whole tasting thing in celebration with our kids. My sister loves chocolate and red velvet so I ordered an extra one of each chocolate cupcake. At the last minute they cancelled all of the chocolate extra cupcake orders and sent us a dozen of what must have been what they had left over for the day. They sent (vanilla/vanilla, salted caramel, coconut & another random vanilla looking cupcake. I understand if they got busy and couldn't fulfill the order. However, They never contacted me to inform me that they didn't have the order.... I would have cancelled immediately.... So now I will have to spend more money to buy a cake and the kids are super disappointed 0 out of 0 stars and $50 down the drain.

I ordered a custom birthday cake here and unfortunately the entire experience was disappointing. From the start, the ordering process felt dismissive and rushed. I asked for a blueberry lemon cake — a classic and popular pairing — but the staff member insisted it couldn’t be done and that the flavors wouldn’t go well together. Instead, I was steered into choosing a lemon lavender cake, which ended up tasting unbalanced: the lavender was overpowering, and there was no lemon flavor at all. For the price of a custom cake, I expected a thoughtful consultation, where the design could be discussed in detail and the baker could explain clearly what was or wasn’t possible. Instead, with only one employee handling both customers and orders, I felt rushed and not given the time needed to plan properly. The final product itself was no better. The heart-shaped cake came out lopsided. I had provided a reference photo with the popular vintage piping style, but that was dismissed. What I received was messy, poorly executed frosting that did not resemble what I asked for. On top of the design issues, the cake itself was dry and the frosting overly sweet, making it unenjoyable to eat. Overall, the lack of care in both service and execution left me feeling like this was a waste of money. When you pay for a custom cake, you expect quality, communication, and attention to detail none of which were delivered here.

I went to pick up my cupcakes on Saturday and parked near a fire hydrant, thinking I’d run in and grab them real quick—only to realize I had placed the order for the wrong pickup date! Luckily, they happened to have the lemon lavender cupcakes my client wanted. Mikaela was so kind and had them boxed up and ready for me in under 10 minutes. Her customer service was a 10/10, and the cupcakes were absolutely delicious. Highly recommend!

Ordered with them on Too good to Go. After this experience, I will definitely be back. The person behind the counter was friendly. The atmosphere was super cute and the cake was amazing!! Definitely worth coming from VA for a sweet treat

Cupcakes didn’t have much flavor, my strawberry ones wasn’t as fresh they were stale, red velvet and carrot ones idk my daughter ate the rest. Will give them a try again one day.

i’m pleased with the employees attitudes and all but i just got a cake for my dads birthday & my biggest fear was paying $100 for a cake that consist of frosting and writing that i could of gotten from a grocery story . and to my surprise , it was exactly that. i was expecting alittle more for that price especially because it’s my dads birthday . this cake looks very basic . not worth it …and i’m irritated

We had a dinner reservation nearby so we popped in right before closing. The bakery case we well stocked with huge, beautiful cakes! The jars were full of cookies and everything looked beautiful. We got two cookies and two slices of cake to-go. Service was absolutely wonderful. (Aug 18, 2024)

I am so glad I stumbled upon Rose Ave Bakery because their brioche donuts are divine! Since I'm not from the area we had to try the Passion Fruit, Ube, and Pandan Coconut filled donuts. Not only are they visually stunning, but they have the perfect balance of donut to pastry cream. The Pandan Coconut was the fan favorite - flavorful without being too sweet. I hope to one day enjoy more of their Asian-American inspired pastries in the future. If you're in the area, Rose Ave Bakery is a must stop!

The Intern: When I read the reviews I thought that this place was going to blow me away, but in reality it had a smaller selection than most bakeries, and the food was very simple, but trying to be fancy in a way. I’m not a doughnut person and this was a place with a lot of doughnuts, so it wasn’t really my favorite. We got the Strawberry Passion Kouign Amann, Matcha Chocolate Twice Baked Croissant, Sugared Donut, and the Roasted Tomato Sambal Focaccia. The Strawberry Passion was a 7/10, very delicious with a passion fruit filling and a croissant-like texture. The Sugared Donut was very simple, nothing too fancy, just a donut with no filling and sugar on top. The Focaccia was OK, just a little kick of spice. It was a curry bread with tomato sauce. I really liked the decorations and vibe of Rose Ave.

Was recommended this spot. It’s a bakery with a Filipino twist, offering brioche donuts and cake slices similar to other Filipino establishments in the area. We arrived around opening and there was already a line. Service was friendly, and we sat outside. The pastries were fluffy and good, but in my opinion, not quite worth the wait or the price.

Rose Ave Bakery is a super cute and fun spot. You can find street parking right out front or nearby, and I was lucky enough to grab a spot right in front. When I walked in, it wasn't packed at all. I saw they had an ube latte, and I knew I had to try it. I also decided at the last minute to get the scallion, egg and cheese, and I'm so glad I did -- it ended up being my favorite thing. The ube latte was kind of a letdown, honestly. I wished it had more ube flavor and less coffee since the coffee overpowered the ube taste for me. It's a little on the pricey side, but honestly, totally worth it to check out, especially if you opt to get a pastry item!

I’ve heard so many good things about this bakery and it truly lives up to the hype. A favorite for me was the passion fruit donut and the garlic scallion roll. But everything was so delicious! Be prepared to wait in line but they move quite efficiently and quickly. I got the mango matcha and it had really good authentic matcha flavor (rare sometimes in cafes). 10/10 experience!!!

Really good bakery. The selection was good. The quality was good. The food was good. No complaints. We got there at opening on a rainy Saturday and there was a long line but it went quick (10 min). Cute place inside, food looks aesthetic. I got the garlic scallion egg n cheese, thai curry tarty, and a brown sugar latte. The egg n cheese left much to be desired. They do not make it fresh to order and is rather kept under a heat lamp. The egg tasted spongy and microwaved. The pastry was dry. And worst of all, the whole thing was maybe room temperature (hard melted cheese). The thai curry pastry is fine, nothing superb. The latte was good, had a strong coffee taste and was well made. The brown sugar syrup is quite good. Maybe their sweeter items are better, but the savory was severely lacking.

I stopped by Levain Bakery in Washington, D.C., and tried their famous two chocolate chip cookies — and they truly lived up to the hype. Warm, thick, and perfectly gooey inside with a crisp golden edge, each bite was rich and satisfying. The bakery has a cozy, inviting atmosphere with the aroma of fresh cookies filling the air, and the staff were friendly and quick. It’s a great stop for anyone craving something sweet and freshly baked while exploring the city.

Hidden gem in Georgetown! The chocolate peanut butter cookie is insanely good soft, rich, and totally underrated. Morning pastries are just as impressive. Do yourself a favor and try the Whole Wheat Walnut Raisin Roll , the smell in the morning alone is worth the visit.

These cookies are next level! The double chocolate is a chocolate lovers dream. Not too sweet, just sweet enough. The oatmeal raisin is a close second. The muffins are also excellent. They also have soy free options.

The cookies were good, but the service was really disappointing. The staff were very nice to the people ahead of us, but when it was our turn, they were rude and dismissive, even though we were smiling and polite. It really ruined the experience.

Cookie was tasty, but expensive. Espresso was incredibly bitter and undrinkable. Also, served in a disposable cup, even when drinking in, which I find to be tacky, not to mention, not very sustainable and bad for the environment. The cookie was also served in disposable wrapping, instead of a plate.

One of the best places for cookies i have ever tried. I have lived on the east Coast and west coast and these are hands down the best cookies i have ever had. VERY LARGE cookies that are soft almost undercooked in the inside while a little crispy on the outside. The chocolate chip walnut is the original and is perfectly sweet with not too much chocolate and the walnuts are perfect in the cookie. Ever so buttery and just delicious. Cookies are around 5 dollars per cookie but again they are huge. There are always seasonal varieties but must try the OG. THERE IS NO PARKING and it is in a very busy part of Georgetown so be prepared to either have a lengthy street parking adventure or try one of the paid garage's that is near. There are no tables inside to eat but there is bar style seating on one wall and a couple of benches near the window. I went on a weekend and it was extremely busy. The line was wrapped around the inside of the store several times and out the door. Surprisingly the line moved very quickly and i was in and out in under 10 minutes. Staff was nice and very efficient. Must visit ❤️❤️

Great spot for breakfast in my opinion. The prices are decent, but the service is slow due to the FRESH made to order food. This is not a fast food rush type spot. They are quick with some items but the more complex meal items they are making from scratch and you can taste it. Great to grab coffee and beignets or a biscuit sandwich.

This place is busy! Definitely order ahead. Breakfast sandwich was kind of small but perfectly proportioned. Think the bread type could’ve been more inspiring. Iced coffee worked its magic on me. Perfectly sweet but not too much. I’ll need to plan to go back to try their beignets and other treats.

A nice little corner brunch shop. Staff are polite and the food is delicious! Try their Louisiana style French beignets and biscuits! They are delicious! Coffee and hot chocolate are good as well!

Omg. I don't even know where to start. I've had beignets in New Orleans (Cafe Beignet) and the ones from Bayou Bakery definitely satisfied that craving!!! The mufaletta was everything I could ever want in a sandwich. It was piled high with quality meats, served on a delicious roll, with mayo and yummy olive tapenade. It was bursting with flavor, and definitely one of my new all-time fave hot sandwiches! I was torn between ordering this or the Arm Drip (roast beef Po Boy, looks similar to a French dip). I compromised and ordered the mufaletta with a side of the gravy that comes on the Arm Drip. (They don't actually have the option to order the gravy on the order online menu. I requested a side of gravy in the "notes" section (alone with extra mayo). It didn't occur to me that they have more than one type of gravy, ha! When I arrived to pick up my order, the lovely human who greeted me (Karla) asked me which kind of gravy I wanted, and was able to quickly add a small cup to my order for just $1. I dont expect much as far as customer service, because I know first-hand how rough it can be to work those jobs. You'd never know it based on my interaction with Karla. She was all smiles, extremely friendly and personable. It felt like having a conversation with a friend as opposed to a business transaction. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. I cannot wait to return and try more items. I definitely want to dine-in sometimes as well. The seating is somewhat limited but its got a cute ambiance. I definitely need to try their baked goods sometime. Oh! They sell yesterdays leftover baked goods for $2! How fun! Love that, because not only do you get a good deal with the "old" pastries, you know everything else is freshly baked that day! You can tell a lot of love is poured into this place, and the staff seem happy, so not only is it good for my taste buds, it's a place I am happy to support. Do yourself a favor and go try them asap! ​ What my stars mean: 5 is outstanding, memorable, a place to write home about! A must-experience. Someplace I would love to reccomend to tourists, and visit myself again and again. 4 is great, somewhere I'd love to return again and again. Back-up reccomenation for tourists. 3 is good. A solid option if I am in the area. I may reccomend to locals, but would probably leave it off my list of reccomendations for tourists. 2 is ok, but only because it a great value, unique, and/or convenient. 1 means I would not return

This place is too small. The line wrapped through the cafe and made moving about difficult especially with the extra tables they have. We got a breakfast sandwich with ham and egg on a roll, a sandwich with sausage and egg on a biscuit and a seasonal scone (chocolate cherry). The roll sandwich was good but it was also the size of a slider, which made the price seem outrageous. The biscuit was a typical biscuit breakfast sandwich, we should have gotten some cheese as the biscuit was a bit dry. The scone was like the person that made the filling burnt everything.

My wife didn't love the flavor of her latte (but everybody has different taste preferences). The muffins and scones were enjoyed by all in my family. Service was good! Would definitely come back on next visit.

One of our favorite spots for late weekend breakfasts. Biscuit breakfast sandwich with bacon is tasty, biscuits and gravy are savory, and the "Hungover Hog" is a filling and delicious meal. My fave coffee is the lavender honey latte. And the beignets? Oh my God THE BEIGNETS. All warm and fluffy and generously dusted with sugar. So, so good. Love the vibe, and the staff is always efficient yet friendly. Keep it up, y'all!

Ordered cupcakes online for shipping. I guess they didn’t have one of the flavors I requested. I would have had no issue with this but they did not bother to contact me about other flavors and instead incorrectly substituted additional flavors that I did not want. I know that they can’t control how FedEx delivers either but most of the frosting on the chocolate mocha ones are attached to the plastic lid. For $70 these are NOT worth it.

I purchased half a dozen cupcakes today for my husband‘s birthday. And when I got home, I looked in the box and every single cupcake except for one, was completely upside down. Not like a little disheveled, got bumped in rhe car and got knocked over a little bit. No completely 3/4 away upside down inside of the box. There’s no way those cupcakes were put down bottom first and not just dumped into a box without a second thought. I tried to call to speak to a manager, but the phone just rings and rings.

I have been here two times and I can honestly say they are a hit or miss ! The atmosphere is super cute it’s a boutique type of setting inside . The first time I had one of their cupcakes it was really great so I decided on my most recent adventure there to try them out , again . My second time going the cupcake was the worst cupcake ever please do not buy the “ chocolate cheesecake brownie cupcake “ I literally threw it away & almost up ! I was thinking it was gonna be a very different combination. It was a thick fudge on top it was literal chocolate cheesecake then a thin layer of crumbly brownie . I love chocolate ! But when I tell you that cupcake was flat out disgusting !!!! Some of the other cupcakes are good but that literally and figuratively put a bad taste in my mouth . I wish I had pictures !!!!

This is a very convenient location, located in high traffic downtown area, convenient parking garage right across the street. Service: efficient, line moves fast Cupcakes: delicious, it has been our favorite in comparison to all other cupcake shops, buttery bottom and creamy top. Price: not the cheapest, on the pricy side, but…you get what you pay for. Inside the shop: tiny place, can get crowded with people who waiting for orders instead of order ahead just to pick up. Highly recommend by @WineDinenVacay

Awesome cup cake available in the town. The taste and texture are brilliant, I’m not a fan of hard fondue so I didn’t like the one that had chocolate fondue but the white raspberry flavor was awesome along with many other fluffy cupcakes. If u live in Montgomery county u can try the Bethesda cup cake store as I haven’t found any difference in taste between the DC store and Bethesda store. The prices are also reasonable! The place is quite small and over the weekend the line flows out and goes on and on, better go between 11-12 in the morning to skip lines.

I ordered 6 cupcakes and they placed them in a box, sealed it with a sticker and placed the box in a bag. So far, so good. When I got home 4 of the 6 cupcakes were NOT what I ordered. If you order in person, take the time to open the box and check the contents, because the employees clearly do not take time to correctly fill your order.

Best I’ve ever had! Service was impeccable, variety was wide, taste was divine. The queues at this location are not as long as the flagship store in Washington, DC. Cakes were fluffy and the cream was not overwhelming. Got a lot, and still tasted great the next day. Definitely worth the hype and I will definitely try them again. Maybe in another location?

Where do i start… this is THE BEST bakery thats out there!! Amazing croissants.. almond, pistachio and ham & cheese is to die for !! Coffee with oat milk was amazing too. Can’t wait to come back!! I always bring secured bag back home full of goodies!

Update: visited again in June 2025, super impressed as always! This place is hands-down one of the best French bakeries and dessert shops in DC—a true gem right in the heart of Dupont Circle. The window display is always full of freshly baked, picture-perfect pastries, some of which I’ve only ever seen on TV. I’ve never been to a patisserie in France, but judging by the look and unforgettable taste, I’d be willing to bet it doesn’t get better than this around here. On my last visit, the pistachio croissant really stood out—it was flaky, rich, and filled with a creamy pistachio center that wasn’t overly sweet. It may be one of the best pastries I’ve had in a long time, and I’m still thinking about it to this day. Whenever I’m headed to a birthday party, I try to stop here to pick up some desserts, and they’re always a hit. Your friends will love you for this :) It’s hard not to just get that pistachio croissant every time, but I’ll do my best to try something new next time… maybe.

Unfortunately, the service was disappointing — one staff member who is a white female. She was unfriendly with eyes rolling when we ask for forks/knives. Visited 9/7/2025 Sunday 2:40 PM. Feel like I owe her $1 million. Pastries are good that I can give 5/5 if ignoring the negative services (please just let us do self-service order on machine, that will save your business money too) Recommend the pistachio Paris Brest which isn’t overly sweet and works well for Asian tastes. The lemon tart was quite sharp but I like it.

I've been to this French pastry shop many times, but usually, I get my order to go. This time, I came here on my birthday and chose the Chocolate Vanilla Cake as my birthday cake. It was my first time eating inside the shop. I love their desserts, though I haven't been able to try every kind yet. The Pain Au Chocolat, Chocolat Twist, Pistachio Paris Brest, and Merveilleux each have their own unique characteristics. I first learned about and tried the Merveilleux here. It has many layers, and each layer has a different texture. It consists of a sandwich of two light meringues welded with whipped cream, which has been covered with whipped cream and dusted with chocolate shavings. Overall, the desserts here aren't overly sweet and are full of buttery aroma. Even if you put them in the fridge and eat them the next day, they still maintain their excellent flavor. The store isn't big, and there aren't many seats, but the interior is warm and exquisite, making for a very comfortable experience.

Je Ne Sais Quoi: $92 Later and Zero Regrets I walked in planning to “just grab a pastry.” I walked out $92 poorer, clutching a box of a dozen pastries, a cappuccino, a latte, and a mango juice like I had just robbed Fort Knox in reverse. The pastries? Each one deserves its own Netflix documentary. Croissants so flaky I left a crime scene of crumbs on my shirt. Pain au chocolat that could probably start an international conflict over cocoa rights. A raspberry tart so shiny it looked Photoshopped. Almond croissants that should come with a restraining order because I can’t stop thinking about them. The drinks? Cappuccino and latte both hit smooth, no bitterness — the kind of espresso that makes you nod slowly like you understand French philosophy. The mango juice? Bright, tropical, and probably the only healthy thing I consumed, so I pretended it balanced out the dozen butter bombs. The staff were sweet, patient, and didn’t laugh when I pointed to basically everything in the case like a kid at Disneyland. Yes, I spent $92. But honestly? That bought me enough joy to forget gas prices, politics, and my to-do list. Worth it. Verdict: Skip the diet, skip the guilt, and bring a bigger box. Je Ne Sais Quoi has me hooked.

Amazing pastries, almond chocolate croissant was delicious. Wanted to try the pistachio chocolate croissant, but they ran out it. Worth every penny. Highly recommend!

I visit with my french friend and she loved it, me too!! The coffee is really good, I just had an Americano and added some flavor and it taste really sweet. Then we took a croissant, pain au chocolates and the yogurt puree! All of it was a 10/10! The only thing we would not recommend is the canneles, they were to hard. We do recommend to be here early if you come on the weekend , cause only after 20 min opening it was already super crowded!

Snacks were good. Prices are on the high side. Panda cake pops were almost $7 each. Raspberry cake was good. Black and white cookie didn’t have much flavor. Nice place to stop for a special treat before the zoo.

I took a cakepop class here. I’ve taken other cooking and baking classes elsewhere before and was a little skeptical walking in. I shouldn’t have been! It was amazing. Class was only an hour, with short manageable instructions from a super friendly staff. At the end of the class I had a dozen delicious and ok-looking cakepops to bring home to my kids. This would be an excellent team-building or fund-raising activity for a group. Way better than driving two hours outside DC to hang from ropes. No contest. Also, while we were in class someone walked in to the store and ordered a bagel sandwich. It looked so good I almost dropped my cakepop.

I came in and had a visit after the zoo. I saw it and thought it was a cute Bake shop and I love supporting small businesses. The cake pops looked very appetizing and very tasty so if you’re looking for a good cake pop in DC this is a good place. I’m not sure if it was just the panda cake pops- but yeah they were almost 7 dollars ($$$). But they were bigger than the average Starbucks cake pop if I’m not mistaken. the chocolate flavor was really nice! it was not dry at all, and it was very cute. So yeah it’s on the higher end for a cake pop, but it got the job done and made for some great pictures. note it is a very small café so not sure about having a seat or having a large group— but it’s great for a grab and go.

These kind people not only make delicious bagels, pastries, and cake pops, they are awesome humans. Yael donated a huge amount of bagels and pops for the students at Duke Ellington School of the Arts to get them energized and full for our special event "The March for the Arts" this coming weekend. We at school literally asked day-of and an hour later they had the donations packaged for us to pick up. AMAZING!!!!! (Also the food is flipping phenomenal and everything is nut-free and Kosher!) Came out of the zoo and wanted some coffee that wasn’t from a chain. Glad I came here! Had a nice cup of coffee and a raspberry cake pop. They also have panda swag, if your kids are still pestering you for a souvenir from the zoo 😋

Delicious baked goods! I happened to meet the owner when I stopped by who is just as kind and friendly as the rest of the staff. I would definitely recommend. The owner has also been known to go above and beyond to support zoo staff (the store is located just outside one of the entrances to the zoo) during times of hardship such as government closures or the COVID pandemic.

Great place to stop by after the zoo to grab a quick bite. The bagel sandwiches are around $6 and baked goods are around $4 each. Overall a decent place with vegan and gluten-free options. Nut-free and kosher if that’s also a concern for you. They had cute zoo-themed cake pops here and if you want a cute panda pop then this is the place for you. I tried their southwestern sandwich on an everything bagel and it was tasty and big enough that you’re full but not overly stuffed. I also tried their cookie bar and it was okay, though I wish I would’ve gone with their raspberry bar instead (maybe next time).

Delightful little bakery with cute vibes and a phenomenal selection of treats. I first fell in love with the Georgetown location of Bakeshop for its variety of vegan and gluten-free items, and the Clarendon spot is no different. They offer a ton of standard, vegan, or gluten-free cookies, cupcakes, and cakes; each one is as delicious as the next. However, if you're in the mood for something savory (and distinctly non-vegan), their breakfast sandwiches are also delightful. I passed the Clarendon Bakeshop location on my way to the metro station on a Friday morning and decided to stop to treat myself to a nice, warm breakfast. I got their everything croissant -- which is perfectly flaky and comes studded with plenty of everything bagel seasoning -- and added a scrambled egg and slice of cheese. The egg was perfectly soft and fluffy, and the melted cheese helped to bind the whole thing together. You usually have to wait for a few minutes for the breakfast sandwiches, but the space is nice and cozy, and it's a good opportunity to peruse their pastry selections.

Bakeshop is such a fun and cozy spot! The desserts are always fresh, creative, and absolutely delicious — you can taste the quality in every bite. The cookies and cupcakes are especially amazing! The coffee pairs perfectly, and the staff are super friendly and laid-back. It’s the perfect place to grab a treat, chill with friends, or just make your day a little sweeter.

The atmosphere and service were great! Also nestled in a cute part of town. I think I would have loved if this place had a bathroom. There are so many drink options and you have the ability to sit-in and enjoy your treats/ drink, but without a bathroom, it’s difficult to give this place a 5 star review. I also wish the gf items would have been clearly separated like the vegan ones were. I felt like I had to struggle to find the items they had since it didn’t match the menu online. But super grateful they had something gf to offer. I’d love a gf biscuit/ scone to add to what you already offer + more macron flavors.

I’ve been a loyal Bakeshop customer for years as I love their banana pudding and breakfast sandwiches. When it was time to choose a cake for our wedding, I looked into the fancy wedding cake bakeries and the economical grocery store sheet cake options. But in my heart, I knew I wanted a Bakeshop cake. The 8 in 3 layer Neapolitan cake was so delicious and picturesque as our cutting cake. Our guests also enjoyed the chocolate cake and carrot cake. We got so many compliments on how amazing our cakes were all night. We love you, Bakeshop!

Ordered delivery for a co workers birthday. They delivered perfectly to downtown D.C. and everyone raved about the taste and presentation of the cake! Excellent experience 👏

The place was neat and looks cozy. They have only indoor sittings and mostly people stop-by for takeout than dining in. Staff were eager to help and really help to provide recommendations for your likings. We had their ice cream which is the cookie vanilla sandwich and the Macaron Red Velvet ice cream. For sweet tooth go for the cookies for the mid sweet, go for the macaron. The combination was so good! We will surely go back to this place!

An amazing Azerbaijani restaurant in Washington DC! The qutabs, dushbere, erishte, plov, dolma, unique pastries, baked goods, breakfast dishes (kuku, scrambled eggs with tomatoes), thyme tea, and homemade döners — everything was absolutely delicious. It truly felt like we traveled back to Azerbaijan. We loved it so much that we came both for breakfast and dinner in the same day. Aunt Natavan’s warmth and kindness make you feel like your own mother cooked for you. For anyone living in Washington, this place is simply irreplaceable!

One of the most delightful meals I've ever eaten. My husband and I traveled here on our honeymoon in DC - Sharbat was on my list of places I wanted to visit and I'm glad to say it exceeded my expectations. Before talking about the food itself, it's got a nice atmosphere and kind staff, and there's fresh flowers and pretty art too. We ordered dishes to share, selecting the dushbara and gurza. The dumplings (gurza) came with a yogurt like sour cream and a little crock of sauce that resembled something between sundried tomato and a very mild chili oil. They were beautiful and fantastic - like you hear "dumpling with beef inside" and that seems like it'd be pretty familiar, but the flavor was unique and complex. We also got the most gorgeous soup called dushbara. It was honestly to die for. Beneath the surface are these small dumplings, of a different shape but I think filled with the same beef mixture. I was reading an article about it from natgeo recently and supposedly it's a fine art in Azerbaijan to try to get the dumplings as micro as possible. These fit perfectly one to a spoonful and they filled up with the beef broth which was phenomenally silky with oil. There was a small crock of vinegar which you could pour into your spoonful to cut the fats and also that same sour cream type stuff. Both were delicious with the soup, which was warm and herby and glorious. There was also a flatbread that came with it - my husband dropped chunks in to soak and it made for a decadent bite! We also took back with us a slice of honey cake and pistachio cake. We'd tried something similar at another bakery before (our first exposure to these kinds of desserts) and I think Sharbat's were my favorite. The honey cake has so many layers, and the pistachio cake is coated in extra nuts with plentiful frosting (which I especially like). One recommendation! If you have time in advance and you know you'll want particular dishes, it's worth letting the staff know ahead of time. For example, the dovga soup, creamy manti, and khinkali were dishes I was interested in trying out but they'd need to be requested in advance. I wish I had longer in DC so I could go back and try those out, knowing how good everything else ended up tasting. And there were such beautiful pastries on display which I wish I could have tried. It's a fairly extensive menu with many phenomenal options, so if you live nearby you ought to take advantage of it and sample everything!!

I had a Badambura. Warm and fresh out of oven. Less sweet than gujia, I actually did like it very much.

I've been on the hunt for authentic baklava and finally found a spot that hit the mark. The baklava was fresh, flaky, and delicious. I tried the Walnut Pakhlava, Meringue Pakhlava, Kata, and took a Mutaki to go. Each treat was amazing. The service was excellent and the cashier offered me some recommendations for my next visit. Initially, I sat outside to enjoy the beautiful weather, but when it got chilly, I moved inside to a cute table by the window with pillows and hanging greenery. There was also space heater nearby to keep the area warm. Overall, I highly recommend this place and look forward to returning for more sweet treats and pleasant ambiance. A definite 10/10 experience!

Sharbat is a cozy gem in DC that offers a truly authentic taste of Azerbaijani cuisine. The atmosphere is inviting, and the staff are incredibly kind and attentive. I had the qutab, and it was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended!

We came to have a lunch w my friends and it was amazing from service to the atmosphere and to the food. It is very tasty here and kind. We had Qutab, Dushbara and Baklava with Teapot. Highly recommended!

Went here for a quick bite and a cup of coffee and was very impressed with the coffee. Never mind the beautiful design in the cream, it was delicious coffee. The biscuit sandwich was very flavorful as well. We sat outside and enjoyed a beautiful day as I sipped my coffee. Love the look of this place.

I came here because this place was highly recommended. The food was good, but I wish I had been given a heads up about the limited seating and the long wait for my order (25 minutes). I ordered a bahn mi and a salted caramel latte and they were good.

The desserts, yes, the coffee, yes, the food, maybe. We came to a baked joint after a busy day seeing the monuments. We were hot and tired and cranky and ready for something tasty and refreshing. The breakfast sandwich was small, but flavors were good. The goat cheese gave it the perfect tang. The Caesar salad was very, very ... very lemony. Not bad, but def avoid if you dont like sour. The yogurt bowl was a bit lackluster. The yogurt could use some agave or honey. The tuna salad was probably everyone's favorite entree. The coffee was great, and the desserts were good. The cupcakes were delicious. We especially loved the strawberry one.

We had a great experience visiting this bakery coffee shop! After finding the menu on a piece of paper in front of the register we got some egg biscuits, pastries and coffees. I especially liked the almond croissant and the salmon on baguette. The coffee was a bit underwhelming but their main focus seems to be the food. I will add this: the name of the place (a baked joint) seemed really weird to me. I almost didn’t go because of it. I’ve lived in Colorado for some years and going to a place with any marijuana theme is not a place you want to take your kids to. That being said this place did not have any marijuana theme at all and the atmosphere was really nice. Especially loved the dried flowers on display

One of the best bakeries to pop into for great coffee and amazing selection of bakery. The variety is what’s mind blowing, so many great and interesting choices. They have both savory and sweet things as well as other breakfast food they prepare. The two gentlemen sitting next to us were eating a shakshouka that looked and smelled delicious. The labneh pita was delightful. My friend didn’t care for her croissant as much. While fresh, she said she had better in smaller places. She expected this to be better. Matcha was superb, well made and not sweet like it ought to be. The ambiance is nice and it’s a very busy location. It’s bustling with locals and tourists; we heard French, German, and Portuguese spoken at nearby tables. Fun people watching spot. For a very busy spot the service is quite dialed in. Our food and drinks were provided within 5-7minutes. Staff is helpful and friendly. Go, linger, and enjoy your cafe time!

What an amazing variety of deserts and pastries! Everything is so fresh and delicious. I tried the mixed nuts pastry, superb! Also their cookies with pistachio and cranberries are out of this world. Service is good and seating area inside is very pretty and spacious.

Here’s what we ordered this time: • Shakshuka: A bit too watery this round—not quite as impressive as my last visit 😅 • Latte & Matcha Latte: Both solid choices for a cozy café moment • Cheese Boureka: Flaky pastry filled with cheese, brushed with bacon fat for that smoky, indulgent flavor—dangerously good! 🧀 For dessert: • Pistachio Cherry Tart: A little dry, and the cherry flavor was too subtle. Might’ve been better with blueberries or strawberries for a brighter pop. • Pear Tart: Surprisingly delightful! A poached half pear with just the right amount of crunch, nestled in a buttery tart crust—definitely recommend! 🍐 Looked it up while walking and turns out this spot is originally from Israel 🇮🇱—no wonder it has that unique Mediterranean-meets-American vibe! The food was delicious! The chicken sandwich and the salmon sandwich were really good. The coffee was also great. However I recently ordered delivery from here and tried the caramel coffee mousse. Unfortunately, there was a strong spice added maybe nutmeg or something similar, both on top and inside the mousse. It didn’t taste like caramel or coffee at all. I couldn’t even finish one bite. I’ll forgive them this one dessert because I really love all their breakfasts and lunches😂 Still, I do think they should mention this spice in the name or description, because it’s definitely not for everyone.

This bakery was pretty good. It was very busy for a Saturday and the people there were on the rude side for my taste. The staff and servers were great and the food was tasty. The outdoor seating was nice but because of their location full of pigeons and birds. The price point is kind of high, just an fyi.

I’m so sorry to leave this review. My score is only for the pistachio croissant, since I didn’t try the other food or drinks. I’ve had amazing pistachio croissants in Washington, D.C. and Georgetown, but this one was very disappointing. It was dry, didn’t seem fresh, and had no cream inside. I went on Sunday at 11 a.m., when there were plenty of people, so it wasn’t like I came too late and couldn’t expect freshness. I’m sorry, but I left very disappointed.

Unfortunately had a miserable experience here. The manager and other workers did their best to turn it around, and i genuinely appreciate them. But the takeaway here is that the food was mediocre at best. The meals came with a gnarly store bread instead of the “sourdough” that was advertised. The replacement bread was still not their full sourdough that was sitting in the display window. The breakfast patties tasted like slimy frozen meat. The shakouka must have been sitting in the window for a long time (see picture). The biggie here is that after being extremely clear about my severe anaphylactic allergies, I ended up drinking a latte that had sesame paste in it (under a different name). They kindly refunded us entirely, but I was itchy and then stomach ill for the next 24 hours. It really set me back as I was visiting the city. The refund was nice, but really not enough given how much of a setback this was. :-/ it’s really lucky I stopped drinking early on, because if not I would have been in the emergency room. So yeah, although the space is really nice, given my experience, I wouldn’t recommend this spot to anyone. And be extremely careful if you have allergies!!!

Wow! Everything we ordered was delicious. It’s a small bakery but very nice and clean and the smells of fresh baked breads and pastries hits you as soon as you open the door and makes you smile. Strawberry croissant was really good and the Kouign Amann was perfect. A little too much ham on the Parisian Sandwich but still very good. Highly recommend.

This fresh Baguette french bakery is a discovery: we were totally unprepared for the deliciousness of the food there. They have proposed a new sandwich approach that we immediately felt could revolutionize the sandwich field. Yes, it is that unbelievable in taste , in appearance. You owe to yourselves to drive there and order one CROGEL sandwich. A palate revolution !!

Nice little bakery in Bethesda. Their baguettes won awards! We parked free at the garage 1 block away on a Sunday.

My daughter and I are thrilled that Paris Baguette has finally opened in Bethesda. We had been eagerly waiting ever since the “Coming Soon” sign went up. Their cakes are truly unbeatable—every one we’ve tried has been delicious—and we especially love the sweet rice ball. We find ourselves coming here almost every day, not only to enjoy the wide variety of drinks but also to study. The beautiful ambiance and lighting make it a perfect place for both relaxing and getting work done.

A gem in Bethesda! An experienced baker makes the French pastries and bread here, e.g., the croissants are tasty, laminated, fresh, and well-baked. The Kouigan Amann is crunchy, flaky and sweet. An assortment of novelty/seasonal pastries (in different sizes) are always fun to try. The coffee is good, but oat milk is the only milk alternative. The lighting is bright. There is plenty of seating (indoor and outdoor). Closes early, six o’clock.

We were looking for a source of fresh sourdough bread while in town! Fresh Baguette and Mia delivered! I called from an hour away to confirm they had loaves of bread and Mia was very helpful and gracious. She described the various types they had which there were many! We selected ancient grains and sliced! Yum! We found a rare parking spot right out front and Mia greeted us! Bread was ready! Latte for my wife! Thank you Mia! We made delicious sourdough toast that evening and I have sandwiches for today. Life is good with fresh baked sourdough!

My favorite spot in Washington, DC! The food was absolutely impeccable, and the service was incredibly friendly. It’s such a cute place with a cozy atmosphere. My husband and I shared the Eggs Benedict with salmon and the Nutella crepe, both were amazing! We also grabbed a baguette, pain au chocolat, and a crème brûlée to go, and everything was delicious. The latte was smooth and flavorful too. Plus, the neighborhood is super charming. Definitely worth a visit!

Went here for an early brunch. I got a croissant, which was a bit stale and also reminded me of a Costco packaged croissant. The service was ok. The atmosphere was great however, and the outdoor patio had gentle chatter and pretty decor. Otherwise, I do believe there are better croissants out there.

The best thing about this restaurant is the delicious food. The atmosphere is cozy, but it’s not very laptop-friendly. The chairs inside aren’t comfortable, and while the outdoor seating is nicer, you can’t use your laptop if you need to charge since there are no outlets available. The service is fairly standard, but the food is excellent. However, I don’t like that whether you dine in or take away, drinks are served in paper cups, it doesn’t quite match the French café atmosphere.

Extremely pleasant service, the flakiest dough in pastries. I had a tomato pie and it had a beautifully complex flavour. The quality of the food definitely beats Tatte I’d say. The vibe of the place is more relaxed though.

I’ve been coming here for years, and the pastries are so good, they taste just like the ones in France! The Algerian girls working here are always so sweet and welcoming. My only wish is that there was a bit more space to sit, but overall it’s such a lovely spot!

Everything here is delicious! We frequent Heidelberg for weekend treats so it was no question this is where we’d order our wedding cake. They set up a formal tasting that exceeded my expectations. We went in thinking we’d just have a 1-tiered small cake for the purposes of photos, but were convinced to get a full 3-tiered wedding cake and we do not regret it! The cake was delivered on time and safely and it looked absolutely gorgeous. Even better in person.

Easy to located. Minimal parking. Greatest section of pastries and sausages around. Fresh sandwiches are delicious. Marzipan treats are tasty. Good hot coffee too. Attentive, professional, friendly and plentiful employees eagerly wait to serve. I'm 45 minutes away so I dont get here often, but when I do, it's always a treat for the whole family!

Have been a fairly regular customer over last 10 years. Pastries, cakes, breads and nice variety of deli items tasty. Prices have gone up as mish as 20% on some items over the last few years. Customer service in bakery very good most days, even on busy weekends however for a recent large catering order, items (trays of soft pretzels and dozens of dinner rolls) brought out to car without and plastic covering! Had to request these bakery items be covered....not very sanitary to say the least

I can't say enough about how good this place is! Excellent pastries, cakes, bread, cookies... the list could go on forever( P.S. the cheese sticks are the best!!). Staff is super friendly and always wanting to help can you find exactly what you're looking for. I've been coming here for at least 20 years and now my kids come here. Just awesome.

My husband and I have loved Heidelberg for years, it’s our go-to spot. So we immediately knew we wanted Heidelberg to make our wedding cake when we got engaged! Cake tasting was so fun — the wedding cake coordinator recommended some traditional ones and a unique one. I gave her an inspo photo, and next thing I know, that exact cake was at our reception. It was absolutely beautiful and so tasty. We plan to order a mini version each year for our anniversary.

LOVE this German bakery. I gladly drive over 30 minutes to visit here a few times a gear. You HAVE to try the beer cheese dip and fresh pretzels. Their sandwiches are also great. My only suggestion is that they update their decor. It's very 1990s and could use some major updates.

One of those hidden gems in Georgetown. Great place to sit and relax with a drink and a snack. Clean, quiet and plenty of seating. Great food too. The spicy hot chocolate cookie is spicy but not overly so..just enough to add a little bit of heat. Their brownies are rich and delicious (and they're already cut in half so you can share with a friend). Friendly staff too.

Dog Tag Bakery is a cute bakery and cafe in the heart of Georgetown. They serve baked goods and sandwiches, along with good coffee. The bakery is owned and run by veterans with all proceeds going to support vets. It can be found right between Water Street and the Tow Path. Street parking is available and there’s also Georgetown Parking a block away.

Cute little bakery, right off of Wisconsin Avenue. Very good selection of baked goods, sandwiches, and beverages. Honey rosemary biscuit is to die for! I have visited this bakery about 10 times, and they are always quick and friendly. Extra bonus is supporting our veterans and military families through their business. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Very cool spot in Georgetown with a great mission. Plenty of room to sit a ton of different treats to eat. I only had a black coffee which was lovely but I’m not going lie the baked goods looked out of this world

My thoughts are mixed , I ordered red velvet cake which was really bad. All I tasted was dye & super dry cake & the frosting in the middle layers was almost like a sour taste I dont know what or why this cake was so horrible but Im extremely disappointed however the chocolate covered brownie was a 9/10 it was very delicious & fresh. I also ordered the cinnamon bun which was out of stock which I didn’t realize that until I rec my order from doordash...So that was a big disappointment as well.

Love this non-profit bakery and their mission. Stop by for baked goods and coffee in the morning and know you’re supporting a good cause. Some evenings Dog Tag hosts open mic comedy and story-telling events in partnership with Armed Services Arts Partnership, another awesome veteran and family focused community non-profit that provides free arts and comedy classes! It was my first time. I got the Salted Caramel Cinnamon roll. Absolutely mouth watering and soft. Would do it again. These people strive for quality. I actually thought it was a dog food store.. just don't ask.

Paris Brest tasted very good but was a bit cold like it had been sitting out for a while. Portions seemed a bit small for the price but probably okay for DC. I enjoyed the live music outside.

Been coming to Georgetown for years and never knew this place existed until the Georgetown Fall Market. I’m so glad I stopped by the pastries are really good! I’ll definitely be coming back!

What a wonderful find on a beautiful Georgetown Saturday. The Patisserie Poupon offers lovely light fare and delicious libations, a perfect stop for a coffee and pastry. I was fortunate enough to find that they had live music out front to pair with my treats. The staff was welcoming and told me about their favorite items. I would recommend stopping by and enjoying the pleasant atmosphere plus the good breakfast or lunch offerings.

I ordered cassis cake and it exceeded all expectations - it tasted and looked absolutely stunning. Everyone was complimenting how amazing it tasted and it was all gone before I took any more pics.. Thank you Pattisserie Poupon for absolute deliciousness.

The Opera cake was amazingly scrumptious and great for a large party! The delivery was even a few minutes early. Can't wait to have another party so we can order from Patisserie Poupon again.

Delicious baked desserts! We ordered a caramel napoleon. Creamy vanilla and caramel layered beneath a caramel topping. If you like caramel then yes, try it! Small number of tables inside but a good number of tables outside back and front. They also serve illy coffee drinks and have a selection of quick grab food items. Friendly service and very clean. A solid choice for desserts and coffee.

I only stopped by for a cappucino, but to be honest about it, it tastes a little strange compared to, say, Elle Bakery's cappuccinos in Mt. Pleasant, or perhaps Rue Cafe just up the same street a few blocks away. The beans Le Caprice DC used for my cup taste, well, I don't wish to assume anything, so I'll just say the roast that ended up in my cappuccino made it taste a little differently than I'm used to cappuccinos tasting at cafés. For reference, my go-tos for espresso drinks are places like Tatte (several locations throughout DC), Elle Bakery (Mt. Pleasant), Yerevan Cafe (Adams Morgan), Saku Saku Flakery or Fresh Baguette (Cleveland Park), and so on. This cappuccino from Le Caprice DC didn't quite evoke the flavors and aromas that I'm keen to perceiving from my usual café stops. Also, one big hang-up for me from Le Caprice DC was that they offer one size: large. Not only that, but for just over $4, the amount they filled up my large cup with *milk foam* relative to actual liquid was immediately evident the second they handed the to-go cup to me. Upon waiting for the foam to dissipate a bit, the liquid revealed itself (pictured). I honestly hate it when cafés do this and fill your cup with significantly more foam than espresso. It takes skill to froth milk to a point where it becomes creamy with light froth (suitable for café art, for example). When you froth milk to the point when it's just air and bubbles, however, and then sell it to me as a size large...well...that's disappointing. About the service: minimalistic. They took my order, fulfilled my order, said thanks and goodbye. That's it. If I sat in to stay, I might have received a little more attention, but that's alright--I was just in for a quick stop and wasn't asking for any special treatment. **PS**: the Square/Block credit card reader at the counter follows the unfortunate trend of the increasing "guilt-trip" tipping option, where you have the "choice" to tip 15%, 20%, or 25%. Off of what total, I'm not sure as I did not look nor did I keep my receipt. This tactic is increasingly used shamefully towards customers for places that oftentimes don't offer much or any actual service, and it's known to increase irritation and play on a customer's sense of obligation to tip. Le Caprice DC implements this tipping mechanism, FYI. Finally, bsed off the cappuccino I purchased and my purchasing experience from Le Caprice DC Café Bakery, I'm going to give them a disappointing 2/5 stars. ⭐️⭐️ You'd be better off getting espresso elsewhere.

Ordered delivery and got the stalest almond croissant ever, and carrot cake so old it was literally bendy. Bet you didn't know cake could do that! Had to toss both. :/ Pls enjoy the photo of my trash.

Super filling sandwich! The combination of bacon, salmon, and croissant was new to me. Not bad at all! I do wish I could get a 16oz coffee instead of 20oz…overall, good experience.

Great place! Easy to order, big selection, and plenty of seating inside and out. Best croissant in DC? I will say it is the only croissant in DC but it was absolutely fantastic and I would be willing to believe it's the best. I would happily go back the next time I am in the area.

The Erfani Family have built, created, and run a warm and friendly establishment. Have not been back in a couple years. When I had been in the area, I had been a regular customer, for about 10 years. Le Caprice Café is a lovely French- style Café and bakery. They make American, French, and Persian delights: from bread to sandwiches made with the bread to danish and crusts filled with savory fillings. There is also nice outdoor seating and nice indoor seating with books and newspaper to distract one as needed. This establishment is a bit of sophistication with a European flare in the heart of DC. (Photos included below are of: outside view of "Le Caprice, outdoor seating with privacy Garden, and one of the specialty breads made at "Le Caprice).

Not so french but not so bad. Pastries were hit or miss. Pain au chocolat was good, but flavored cookies were bland, no flavor at all. Chairs and tables were dirty with food crumbs everywhere. Staff was nice and friendly.

The tiramisu was very dry. The baklava was also dry and didn’t have much flavor. Disappointing. The woman behind the counter was pleasant

The name “Watergate Cake” is believed to named after the Watergate scandal involving President Nixon in 1972, which was unfolding at the time the cake was popular, I am getting custom cakes for special schedule and never disappointed and always enjoyed every bit of my cake

Great experience! Easy to communicate with and Fantastic Cake! Ordered an 8” x 8” rum cake for my husband’s birthday. Watergate pastry was super easy to communicate with, their pricing was fair ($50). On pick up day everything was easy, and the employee at the shop was so kind. I’m personally not even a fan of rum cake (it’s his favorite) but we both ended up loving the cake!!! It was creamy, flavorful, flaky, and the perfect amount of sweet! 10/10 recommend watergate pastry! And it’s fun to walk around the old historic building while you’re in the area :)

Spectacular dark chocolate mousse. Probably the best that I have ever had. It was moist, decadent, rich, anything that you want in a chocolate mousse. And the decorations were so professional and sharp, it was a shame to ruin them to eat the cake itself! Definitely would recommend that you try any of their delicious pastries here.

My experience was absolutely perfect! The ordering and pick up process couldn't have been easier. The cake was just what my husband wanted for his 40th birthday. (He couldn't wait to have more for breakfast!) It was delicate and delicious. I can't wait to have an excuse to order again!

Ordered some custom cookies, adding our company logo to shortbread-type cookies, and they turned out great (and were tasty too!). While picking them up we decided to try their chocolate cake, and it was amazing. Wow. So thanks again to Watergate Pastry, they did a great job for me yet again!!

I ordered a pineapple upside down cake with balloons and paid to have it delivered to a hotel on Capitol Hill. I was told the cake tasted good but the rest of the experience was negative. The balloons were blown up by mouth...no helium and not floating. The icing writing on the cake was lacking. The receipt was ON TOP of the box!! For $65, I expected more, a lot more.

My favorite pastry shop in the US! My family has been coming here my whole life, maybe before I was born. They have some pastries here 5hat I've never had anything close to. (The Grand Marnier, amazing! ) I adore this place.

Amazing fresh pastries made from their in-house whole grains. No white flour! Loved everything I tried! They also make their own coffee and tea syrups from scratch. BlackBerry, vanilla bean, lavender, etc, etc. Coffee is fresh group and wonderful. Sophia is a delight. You can tell she loves what she does! Have come everyday I have been in DC. They are closed on Mondays so I stocked up on Sunday…. I am smiling as I post this and savor every bite and sip…

If you think you’ve had good bread, Seylou will change your mind. A Must-Visit in DC Friendly staff, incredible bread, and pastries that look as good as they taste. The rye sourdough is outstanding fresh, flavorful, and made from grains milled right on site. A real gem in the nation’s capital!

Great bread, but nothing too special about the pastries. They claim very novel flavors but you can't taste those ingredients. Their muhammara danish tasted more like bell pepper paste than the tang of muhammara, for instance. The kale/cheddar scone wasn't balanced and more bitter from the kale than it should have been. Corn breton was great, but in that it was basically a southern corn cake, not a twist on the classic. The cinnamon roll is nothing special. Plus: 1) They don't list their prices in the store. You just are charged what you're charged 2) If you want your pastry warmed, it's a whole song and dance

I've been to Seylou at least seven times now. Always enjoy the pastries and ambiance. First two times I ever went the lattes were great! Lately, I find coffee grounds at the bottom of most iced lattes I've ordered there. Coffee itself is great, but the grounds getting in one's mouth ruins the experience. Please don't let your coffeeshop go downhill -- more extensive training for the baristas would be great so that coffee grounds stop ending up in the drinks. Thanks for your consideration.

This place is like a warm hug every time I go. Their pastries and delicious, clearly made with great care. My all time favourite are their savoury scones, I take as many as are available because they ran out fast! Pizza night is a delight as well and you should def try it! The staff is very kind and there is a family feel to the atmosphere 🥰

This place offers a wide variety of breads and breakfast pastries—everything looks delicious. The coffee service is quick, even though the space is small and always busy. I tried the cheddar scone and a cappuccino, and both were excellent.

High quality and very creative offerings. I appreciate the use of local ingredients and the clear thoughtfulness behind each of them in a pastry; their placement, what they’re paired with and how much. Everything we tried was perfectly curated and balanced but the flatbread in particular was herbacious, floral, soft and buttery - perfection! The prices are very reasonable, too. I would greatly encourage anyone reading this to ignore the reviews complaining about this. Seylou is a one of a kind bakery that mills their grains, goes above and beyond in their offerings and their staff is well looked after - you can tell this by their gracious customer service, how they speak and present themselves. Seylou is worth the consideration of swinging by and every praise already given! What an incredibly special piece of DC ❤️

When Elle opened in 2018, it became an immediate favorite for me and my wife. It wasn't long before our weekend ritual was going to the Mt. Pleasant farmers market, getting biscuits from Elle, and going back to our apartment for a veggie scramble with some (warmed in the oven) biscuits. Years later, they are still our top-tier biscuits in DC. This year, for our latest wedding anniversary dinner (cheers!), we had an absolutely wonderful meal. First: thank you, Shayna, for being a fantastic team member and taking care of us! The whole experience was one giant highlight, but here are some of the greatest hits from their always-creative dinner and drinks teams: -To drink: Amaro Camatti Highball made with mint, bitter orange, Dr. Pepper (yes!), almond, and balsamic. I mean, let's face it, when part of your drink has a Ph.D., you're in good hands. -Pan Roasted Sunchokes with anchovy bagna cauda and horseradish gremolata. Savory depth and funky goodness from the bagna cauda. I will be thinking about this one for a long time. -Smashed Shio Koji Sweet Potato with granny smith apple, chermoula, castelvetrano olives, pistachio butter. Such a perfectly executed balancing act of hearty, herby, and acidic. It was a real party of a dish! -Honey Goat Cheesecake with charred citrus, cashew, and blood orange gelee. I don't think the cheesecake has ever left the Elle menu and for good reason: it is a dream of a dessert. They dress it up differently when the menu changes, and it's always beautifully composed and equally delicious. My wife and I split one this year, but I can absolutely see the case for everyone getting their own (and certainly wouldn't judge you for it.) Happy to say that year after year, we continue to visit Elle and we continue to love what we get. I've added pictures from the dishes I didn't cover here, too, and please know that all of them were lovely: we have never been disappointed by any Elle dish. Simply the best.

Excellent food and great service! Each dish was well balanced and many interesting takes on classic dishes! Of course you have to get the bread since they bake it fresh there!

I walk up from Dupont Circle just to enjoy this lovely café. The food in the restaurant (and in the bakery) is high-quality. They even have some of the best baguettes in town. If you want to have breakfast with a friend, try to meet them here! It has a very cool vibe.

On our first ever visit to Washington DC we were fortunate to discover Ellē on the first morning of our week. We returned every day afterwards for Breakfast and sampled their first class fare one evening for Dinner. There is a wonderful, interesting menu, great baristas and a genuine sense of staff being part of a team and enjoying what they do. Servers are terrific. I loved the backstory, that Ellē is the name of the grandmother of one of the owners. Also (the old sign remains outside) the building until Ellē took over housed a renowned bakery & café "Hellers" which ran from 1928 until 2014. Mount Pleasant is a delightful area with many cafés, small shops, restaurants ...independent businesses with a great sense of community Thank you, Team Ellē

Wow so rude. Just left after the oddest interaction ever. I typically come in on the weekends and order a latte and read for a bit. Tonight, I came in to do the same thing and unfortunately the espresso machine was down. I had already sat down after a twenty minute walk and asked, oh I really was hoping for a coffee. But that’s ok, mind if I just sit here and read for a bit? The waiter said well this is a place that sells food so you need to buy something if you want to stay. I’m sorry, but that’s not a very welcoming experience. Not only had I frequented this establishment, but they just didn’t have what I wanted so is it really that much trouble if someone wants to sit a read? The place was half empty and very calm. Obviously I will not be returning. Bad energy!

Wow...where do I even start? Whether you're looking for a cozy café with great coffee / pastries, an intimate restaurant serving some of the best New American cooking, or just a place that has some of the friendliest, most inviting staff to ever grace the DC restaurant scene, Elle has you covered. They operate a cute little coffee counter in the day, which includes some of their amazing scones, croissants, and other goodies, as well as outstanding espresso drinks. There isn't a ton of seating in the café section so it ends up being quite crowded, but if you're lucky enough to snag a seat, it's super cozy and the perfect place to read or just hang out. The café area is confined to two mini counters in a small corner next to the front window, so it always gets plenty of natural light and is a great place to people watch. I dropped by on a Sunday morning to grab an americano and their maple pecan scone; the americano was phenomenal, and the scone was such a delightful ode to autumn flavors. It was quite large, super buttery and rich, and packed with maple and pecan flavor without being overly sweet. Come back in the evening and you'll stroll into what feels like a completely different restaurant. The coffee bar is transformed into a standard bar, and the ambient lighting, dark wooden furniture, and brick walls make the space feel incredibly cozy and intimate. Their dinner menu is quite pricey, but it's genuinely worth every penny. My friend promised that Elle had the "best vegetable he's ever tasted," and they absolutely delivered -- the roasted broccoli with sardines and parmesan was delightful. It was super simple, but I appreciated how well it let the natural flavor of each ingredient shine, and each component had plenty of its own flavor, with the parmesan and sardines offering a hit of salt, umami, and sight funkiness. We also got the grilled cucumber which, at first glance, seemed like such an odd menu item. After giving it a try, however, I'm now questioning why we don't always grill our cucumbers -- the cucumber was beautifully charred on the outside, and heat helped to bring out some of the vegetable's natural sweetness to counterbalance the smokiness from the grill. It was served on top of a bed of savory, tangy yogurt and with chopped hazelnuts, which offered a great crunch. I was most impressed by the skate; this fish is a rare find in DC, but they prepared with perfectly. It was super tender, which contrasted beautifully against the crispy, crunchy fried outer shell. The skate was topped with crispy onions and a savory, slightly spicy sauce, as well as swimming in a rich, incredibly umami broth. The skate may have been the single best thing I put in my mouth all year -- I'm going to be devastated when it falls out of season and rotates of the menu, but I'm also super excited to come back and sample Elle's next season of items.

I see it’s popular with neighborhood folks and it seems like a good neighborhood spot. Not sure I will venture out to eat here again because there are better options for the offering. The wait was a bit unreasonable just for a breakfast sandwich (25-30min) and the price for a breakfast sandwich is a bit outrageous ($20 before tax) with no side. There was somewhat of a long line to order but it moved fast. I saw they used Tandem beans, which is one of the best coffee/bakeries in America. However, the latte was overly sweet and tasted little of espresso, and I get 4 shots. The bacon and egg on the sandwich were good but the cheese was mild with little flavor and the biscuit was average—not worth the price. They had several pastry options—the donut and chocolate chip cookie were really good. If I lived nearby I might try again, but not going out of my way.

First, this place has excellent service. It is a gluten-free bakery, but there is no sacrifice on the taste. Everyone is friendly and helpful. We were looking for a sweet fix, which is tough when you're both dairy-free and gluten-free. We got warm Chai donuts (yummy, but definitely best when warm) and a mini bundt cake. Also very good. These were so good that for Valentine's I ordered a mini cookie cake for my daughter, a box of mini cupcakes for my guy, a sweets sampler for the in-laws and a mixed bag of donuts for sibling. We loved them. My only request is more vegan+GF options (at least on weekends). We will be back!

If you're around Eastern Market, this spot is just a quick 8-minute walk away. We stopped by over the weekend and absolutely loved it. I am sure that they hear this a lot, but even though I'm not gluten-free, their pastries were amazing. I had the fig & goat cheese scone for breakfast, and it was heavenly. The chocolate donut holes were also a sweet little treat I would snack on them every day. The staff up front were super friendly and welcoming to everyone. Definitely planning to go back soon!

Last minute decided to stop by on my way home, got 3 egg and cheese sandwiches and a pumpkin spice cupcake. Cupcake was fantastic! Egg and cheese sandwich’s were kinda ehh, the biscuit part was amazing, but the egg and the sauce didn’t really do it for me. I’d definitely come back for the sweets though.

Do not order via delivery service! I received the saddest looking cupcakes that had clearly been on the shelf for a long time (one was even labeled clearance) and looked like they were made by an amateur baker. For $8 a pop after tax that is the actual crime. We’ve been a huge fan of Sweet Crimes for years - they did our wedding cake and I’ve ordered multiple cakes or cupcakes from them for my GF husband’s birthdays but this was exceptionally disappointing. So I don’t recommend getting any treats from here that you can’t pick out yourself.

Sometimes it's hard to ask for the moon when going into a gf bakery as someone who has an intolerance and has visited many places with gf options but I was left pretty disappointed with the options here as well as the execution. Fine and mid if you're needing a gf friendly sweet treat.

Sweet Crimes is my favorite gluten free bakery in the DMV and I love to stop by to see what's on their menu. In addition to their usual sweets, we ordered our wedding cake and desserts from Sweet Crimes. Keri went above and beyond to make sure all of the desserts were gluten, dairy, and nut free to accommodate a variety of food allergies and she took care of the delivery and setup for us. The cake was the best cake I've ever had and we've decided we'll be ordering an anniversary cake from them every year just to relive it. All of the guests remarked how they couldn't tell it was gluten free either!

We ordered banana bread, a "large" cinnamon bun and a smoothie and it was $23. We had higher expectations for that price. The smoothie had a delicious flavor, but it was room temperature and very small. The cup wasn't filled to the top either, and for that price I actually asked her to add more, which she did. The banana bread was VERY good, but very small compared to what it looked like in the picture we saw when we ordered. The cinnamon bun was also very small, even though we ordered a "large." I can't even imagine how small the "small" must be. And, it really tasted terrible. This little bakery could do better. We will not go again.

One morning before my meetings in DC. I got a chance to walk around the city. One of the places I had saved my phone to try was Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken. The doughnuts were decadent but still delicious. While there, I tried the PB & J donut along with a seasonal pumpkin pie. Both were really good, but the PB & J doughnut alone was worth the trip. I also got an order of chicken tenders. The tinders were crunchy and flavorful.This was definitely a place.I would take my family back to.

This little shop is just big enough to have a 3 person line in the shop. We got the honey fried chicken sandwich on a biscuit and the cherry blossom donut. The chicken was juicy it was also small and disappeared quickly. The biscuit was even better, soft fluffy and with butter moist. The cherry blossom was ok but the cherry jelly that is on the inside was a bit much, it was too sweet.

Liked this like donut shop. They had a great variety of unique and artisan donuts (nuveau). You will find something ecclectic that will pluck your donut heart (stomach 😉) string. Love the new trend in the last 10 years of artisan donuts that has been building up throughout US. We did this via the Underground Donut Tour Washington DC. A great option to see some of the great donuts and bakery shops in DCs

Got several donuts from here and they were all ok. The flavor was lacking for me and the donut was very bready - not my liking. I got the following: - Crème Brûlée - Glazed - Chocolate Birthday Cake - Vanilla Birthday Cake - Strawberry Shortcake

The variety of donuts was so fun to look through and they all looked delicious! I got an Old Bay Fried Chicken Donut Sandwich & it was sooo good.

Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken is such a fun spot — crispy, juicy chicken paired with soft, sweet doughnuts that totally hit the craving. The combos are creative, and everything’s always fresh. It’s a little indulgent, but worth it for a quick treat or comfort meal on the go.

i came across Astro walking to Macys and i promised myself to stop back by after i was done shopping. Astro doughnuts is a petite takeout storefront with bistro tables set up outside perfect for a snack solo or with a couple friends i purchased 4 donut flavors, creme brûlée, root beer float, glazed, and a glazed cake donut. So delicious and totally will satisfy the sweet tooth. these donuts are heavy and many had a cream, curd, or compote filling . Creative flavors make it hard to choose! I did return the next day for another half dozen to try a couple different doughnuts and grabbed a couple more root beer which was my fav!

Lively breakfast spot! My friend recommended and did not disappoint. Staff is friendly and make you feel welcome. Bagels with ham, egg and cheese was tasty. I enjoyed the coffee!

Looked up bakery near me, and this was listed. I was looking for a new experience and found Bedt Buns Bakery & Burgers. Overall, everything was a pleasant surprise. The customer service, food, and pleasant atmosphere was a 10 out of 10. I have already recommended this bakery to my friends. You can not go wrong if you want to experience great food.

Love the setup in the restaurant. Wait time was a little long, but definitely worth the wait. The croissant was flaky, soft and buttery I might add. The bacon and eggs were cooked to perfection.

Truly some of the best buns as they supply bread to so many different restaurants around the area. Even from outside, one can smell the bread being baked and we couldn't help but go outside. Best Buns has been in business since before I discovered it in 1997. They are the real deal. The quality, consistency and value of their products is unmatched in this region. There are other bakery cafes that may have a couple of good products but at Best Bens every item is amazing. They seem to retain staff for years or decades and are always pleasant and kind. They were especially thoughtful when my spouse’s father passed and their kindness will always be remembered. Highly recommend for breakfast, lunch, takeout, holidays or catering. Thank you for being a highlight in NOVA.

Service was great and the staff was friendly. The donuts themselves are overrated and more like a cake donut, much like you would get at dunkin donuts or the supermarket. I think for the price ($23 for half dozen),you would get a better tasting donut. The store was clean and well maintained from what I could tell. It's not a bad experience, just not my style of donut.

Donuts were YUM. They were kinda pricey with over $25 for a half dozen but we all loved it. Vanilla bean Crème brûlée was delicious as it was warm and perfectly crusted with the sugar. I did not personally try, but my group loved the Samoa donut. Quick & nice service with window seating.

Ordered these and they were awful. I used to love them and over the years the quality has went down the drain. I usually don’t do reviews but this is the 3rd time I’ve got cold doughy donuts after spending over $40 on less than a dozen donuts don’t waste your money. Do not recommend!!!

On my way to the office, I passed by District Donut and thought it looked like a neat shop. Popped in and saw their offerings of the day. The worker was very friendly and even kept her cool when the customer before me got her undies in a bunch cause they didn't accept apple pay. Kudos to the worker. I decided to try the sweet potato pie donut since it was unique. It looked great, but after the first bite I was sorely disappointed that I spent almost $5 for it. For lack of a better description it was chewy or doughy. It didn't have that nice flaky melt in your mouth goodness that I've had at other shops. The sweet potato filling was okay. Sweeter than I would have liked. Maybe it was an off day, I chose the wrong flavor to try, or their donuts aren't my jam. YMMV

Amazing donuts! Try the seasonal specials like the Key Lime for something totally different than your standard donut shop. And the coffee from Zeke's is strong!

We’ve been going here since they first opened and just had Dulce de Leche and Brown Butter doughnuts as standard. Love the seasonal flavors to keep things fun and interesting. LOVE that the sufganyiot are now available outside of Chanukah. The only downside is that when we got them in February, they were dry and definitely not as good as when they were a special item. Service is usually slow despite and they sell out of flavors throughout the day. So get there early for best selection.

Please do not order online. I ordered a dozen cupcakes online and paid in advance days before an event. When I went to pick up my order for the event, they didn't have it ready and most of the cupcakes I ordered online (placing the flavors in the note section as instructed) were not available. I had to select other options that we didn't like as a refund wasn't available and I was pressed for time. They need to update their online ordering options and at least contact people if the online order is not available, especially if they are processing your payment. I love to support small businesses but this was not a great experience. I recommend calling if you need to place a large order to get clarification on flavors available etc. Also if you are vegan, you are not able to order cupcakes individually, although it is an option online, you can only get this option by the dozen.

I went to this establishment today. The young lady at the register was very friendly and accommodating. I ordered the butterscotch and the white chocolate cupcake originally but Unfortunately, they did not have the butterscotch so I decided to get the double chocolate. When I tried the white chocolate raspberry cupcake, it was lacking flavor. The only thing that stood out was the fruit inside of the cupcake. I hope that the reviews about the shop is taken into consideration by the owner in order to improve In certain areas, but other than that I will still support the small business.

The desserts are pretty good although some of the items could be more flavorful and prepared better. The scones were awful-they didn't have much of a flavor and were so dry! Water couldn't even quench my thirst! The cupcakes were really good especially the champagne and the chocolate ones. The service was pretty lack luster. Nothing special and seemed somewhat detached. I'm not sure if i would return but it was a relatively nice visit that satisfied my sweet tooth. (The cassava is overtly devastatingly sweet)

Always love to support Black owned/run businesses, but for the confections to be award winning, I was a bit disappointed. The shop is located on a cute street in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, but be aware - there’s no place in the shop to sit to enjoy your treat.

I was just curious to try these cupcakes because their texture and design look so yummy! I picked up a chocolate/vanilla which didn’t feel very fresh, maybe It’s because I got there right before closing and the cake was sitting there for long but it tasted like it was there all day! On the other side, the piña colada was so soft and yummy; I regret not taking 2 of this! I think price is fair for the amount!

I purchased cupcakes for a family members 55th birthday. When we cut into the lemon cupcake, they found what appears to be mold. I am so upset! I have been going to SL for years and this was the 1st time something like this occurred. Soooooooooo Disappointed! I would have called to share this info with the bakery directly but it appears that the phone number that was previously listed has been removed, hence the posting.

It was underwhelming at best. The flavors are delicious and as expected but the true macaron texture…. A big swing and a big miss. The location itself is adorable. Great service, good character all around. Product itself — macaron… not so much. All 8 pieces I purchased today were very dry and unnecessarily crumbly. The scent and flavor were on point for each but… what is up with this dry eggshell consistency?! Felt like biting into expensive cardboard at a couple of points getting thru the box. It was soooooo disappointing.

Cute little shop! Very nicely and colorfully decorated the day we were there. With a large variety of Macarons of different flavors and colors they have choices for every possible taste. Nice quality and service. The price was rather high but if you like macarons you know the price is always high for macarons. With just a couple of small tables there no good siting available. A good place to visit while visiting this part of town.

My husband and I stopped in while walking around Georgetown. The barista was super kind and made a great Latte! She recommended some great flavors and the atmosphere was so cute! There were decorations for the cherry blossoms and the shop looked so cute. The cherry blossom macarons are hand painted and you can see the detail and dedication. We definitely recommend this little spot for a latte and some treats! They even have macarons for Doggos too!

I absolutely love macarons. I ordered a 7 pack today out of excitement. The first one was great. Although, everyone one after that was crunchy and stale. Not what I expected from a place that only sells macaroons.

[GREEN MOLD ON CAKE] Updated Review: I purchased the cake on 10/7 around 6 PM, close to the store’s closing time. I placed it in the refrigerator and ate a slice around 8:30 PM, where I discovered green mold on middle of the cake (see time and date of pictures taken-along with cake transaction). The next morning (10/8), after experiencing food poisoning. I immediately called the store to request that the rest of the cakes from that batch be removed from the counter, but I was told no manager was available the entire day. Even if the store doesn’t want to take accountability for the mold, it clearly shows a lack of proper food storage or handling, since mold does not develop within just two hours of purchasing a cake. (Original review): I was really disappointed with my order — I found green mold on my slice of cake, and unfortunately, I ended up getting food poisoning after eating it. This was very concerning and made me question the food safety and storage practices. I hope the business takes this seriously and ensures better quality control so no one else has to go through the same experience.

First of all, the young man behind the counter was so friendly and helpful the moment we walked in. His cheerful personality made our entire visit so wonderful! Second, the selection of gorgeous pastries was amazing. We had a hard time choosing! Ended up with a chocolate mousse cake and a raspberry bar and a bunch of macarons to take home. Finally, the decor is so elegant and chic. Such a beautiful spot. We will return very soon!

Ordered a custom birthday cake (sugar free/diabetic) in advance. Joseline responded in email that it would be ready for the event. I followed up twice in email to confirm and they confirmed it would be ready. Day of the event, they didn’t have the cake and staff spent some time on the phone trying to figure out what happened, and I was further late for my event. I emailed saying my cake order was forgotten by the bakery, no response. Emailed again, they said I can come in for a free pastry instead of a free cake, after I communicated before that I can’t have sugar which I reminded again. I’m so glad I didn’t order a bigger event’s custom cake from this bakery, like a wedding cake. Definitely would not risk ordering a wedding cake from here. Disappointed how disorganized this process and outcome was, and how there was no understanding that a promise was broken and that they should make up for it without me asking for them to.

The place itself is cute but it does have a weird smell and the bathroom was kind of dirty. Worst of all though was tts vanilla vanilla cupcake I ordered. Nearly $6 for one. It tasted days old The frosting was supposed to be butter cream but tasted like refrigerated crisco:( the cake itself was dry and stale tasting. Ugh!

The cake is amazing and the baked goods are so fabulously delicious and they look great! The chocolate cupcakes with chocolate buttercream are a family fave. The sticky buns that are only made on weekends are my favorite in the area. The cookies are just the right level of chewy and crunchy. I go to every bakery in the area and this has become my go to in Bethesda. This high quality bakery really makes a memorable moment better. You won’t regret going.

The good stuff: My husband and I really enjoyed meeting Leslie, and after having done tastings with several other venues we knew Fancy Cakes by Leslie was who we wanted to go with at first bite. We were more interested in fantastic tasting cake than something that was all about aesthetics only. And Fancy Cakes by Leslie does has the aesthetics - we justed wanted our guests to really enjoy eating the cake. I was also surprised other venders were either not willing to make a chocolate wedding cake, or in one instance, had awful chocolate cake. We ordered a small white cake with lemon for our ceremony cake and a larger chocolate cake with raspberry for the reception. Both cakes were fantastic and enjoyed by all. As for the areas this vendor could work on: 1) As our event neared the communication was not great, 2) our cakes were delivered late and without communication that they were going to be late - causing me stress and the florist was waiting for the delivery to decorate the cakes, and 3) despite our prior inquiry regarding how the ceremony cake was going to arrive and if we would be able to carry it to the event location, the person who delivered the cakes was extremely rude to my father when he asked for the cake box - and then left to return later with a box that was too small. Thankfully the hotel was able to find something we could carry the cake in.

I can't say enough about this place. Fancy Cakes is THE place to go for your special events. If you want your dessert done right, Fancy Cake will put your mind at ease. This cake was the highlight of my wife's 50th Birthday. THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!

Wish this place was closer to where I live in Towson, MD. They did an amazing job on a anniversary cake I asked them to make. They also made additions to said cake on at the time of pick up. Also picked up a lemon square and their massive chocolate chip cookies, both were extremely delicious. With that being said, they are on the pricier side but they you get what you pay for. Would recommend them for any occasion. Great job guys

I used Fancy Cakes for my son's first birthday cake and could not have been happier! It was a cinco de mayo themed party and the design was exactly what I had in mind. The cake was gorgeous and really delicious. The baby was also a huge fan!

I ordered a special cake for my son's 18th birthday in June 2019 and the result was a total disappointment. I stopped by your shop and we spent a good half an hour to discuss the details of my order on June 11th. For every detail, your representative that I spoke on that day went inside and checked if that was doable or not with your chefs or staff who are actually making the cakes and decorations. There are two main issues that were not delivered as per my order: 1) The decoration of the cake: What I wanted and what we agreed was hand cut decorations with a little bit of dimension for the bird figures on top of the cake, like not 3D birds but hand-cut birds with a bit dimension and puffiness. I made it clear and you representative noted that I did not want the shape I shared to be printed. I also wanted some decorations on the corners of the square cake I ordered. Your representative drew all those on the paper and took notes next to the drawing. She also noted the extra payments she calculated per figure. The writing on the cake was also supposed to the handwritten. When I went to pick up I saw that the shape was printed, there was no hand-cut bird and no handwritten part of the decoration, and the corners of the square was not decorated. When I complained to the lady at the shop at that moment was very helpful and friendly. She was a different person than the person who took my order. She offered to fix it and have hand cut birds prepared within the next few hours but we did not have time. So she just had your staff adding some color to the corners as decoration and paid me back $60 of the original $150 I paid as the difference for hand cut vs printed decoration. 2) The second and more important thing is the cake itself. I ordered a chocolate cake and we had a long conversation about the filling. Similar to the above the accepted my order went back inside a few times to check and came back to confirm and put the note on paper. She showed me a sample cake standing in a top shelf of the shop, the round one standing at a top shelf in the shop. She said that the square cake would have three layers of fillings. I wanted the top and the bottom layers to be the coconut filling and the middle layer to be fruits. She recommended strawberries. I said yes. So I ordered a chocolate cake with two layers of coconut filling and one layer would be filled with strawberries. Based on what happened with the decoration, I asked about the cake itself when I was picking it up. Your staff said there is no way to know w/o cutting. Everything should be how it is written on the order sheet. We checked the sheet, it was noted exactly I described. Attached is a picture of what I saw when I cut the cake that night!!!! Almost no filling! definitely not as thick as your staff showed me when ordering but a very thin layer of something... I say something there was no coconut! There was no coconut flavor or smell!! There were no strawberries! At all. It was as if a thin layer of butter and bad quality strawberry spread was put in between all layers. Three layers of thin butter and low-quality strawberry spread instead of two layers of coconut and one layer of strawberry filling. let me stress again, I asked fruit and you said strawberries... This should have meant strawberries right? This was my son's 18th birthday cake for the family celebration. I wanted something small but really special. I am greatly disappointed with the quality of your service and with the quality of the cake.

I worked with Fancy Cakes by Leslie for my wedding last May. It was such a smooth and easy process, and they were extremely responsive. If you're not won over during the cake sampling part, I can't help you. There are so many options to choose from and they have a beautiful gallery if you're unsure of what design you want. The day of the wedding was seamless and to make it easier, they worked directly with the reception venue and florist (fresh florals were added to the cake the day of) so I could enjoy my day. The icing on the cake (pun intended) - we got a complimentary smaller version of our wedding cake for our 1-year anniversary. I highly recommend them!

Quiche was tasty, scone was tasty. There are plenty out outside seats that were covered with umbrellas. The coffee was delicious. Inside the shop there were friendly people and it was clean inside and outside.

This cafe tucked in the corner of a block is relaxing and is a great place to relax. Definitely a sit, chat, and read cafe. I had the spinach feta quiche (delicious!), an american style orange scone (crumbly and subtly sweet but missing something), and a large chai latte (sweet with an interesting aftertaste but perfect for my sore throat). The bathrooms are clean, and there is a variety of seating offered. The service is craaazy fast, and on a beautiful day like today people watching is so enjoyable.

Was in the neighborhood and needed a quick pick me up — ThreeFifty fit the bill! Quick service and clear menu. For an iced coffee that was pretty affordable ( <$3) and blueberry scone. Coffee was fresh, tasty and refreshing. Scone was appropriately dry and crumbly and tasty as well though FF a little pricey at almost $4. Would return again though!

Matcha latte was not too sweet which is how I personally like it, service was super fast even though it was a weekend, lemon and blueberry pound cake was definitely indulgent. Will definitely try more of their baked goods

One of my fav tire coffee places in dc. Pastries are always fresh and the quiches are awesome. Personal size quiches, ready to go. I always get the bacon cheddar, but they have a variety of options. I feel like I’ve eaten something after ordering food here, whereas some places the food feels more like a snack than a meal. Coffee always tastes fresh. Never burned or as if it’s sat out.

Delicious little Italian eatery in the well known Palmer Alley. We were there for the signature Italian pastries, which were all great! Really well made and delicious. We were there with the Underground Donut Tour DC, and our guide had eaten there at other times and said everything they had was great.

The food options were really good and everything tasted good. Nothing was exceptional but also nothing was bad. We tried the panini and a couple sourdough toasts and they all tasted good. The cannoli was good too.

Pluma has some seriously delicious croissants! wonderfully flaky, especially the ham and cheese, and the chicken Caesar Sammy was a hit. My cappuccino was good too, though not exceptional. Unfortunately, the noise level was overwhelming—it was way too loud and packed with people, which made it hard to fully enjoy the experience. If you're looking for a cozy, quiet spot to relax, this might not be the place, but for a quick, tasty bite, the food delivers!

Saturday around noon, bread and croissants are ok. Coffee unremarkable, service 100% unfriendly, service very slow (we waited even longer because they forgot my dish). I ordered folded egg, it was very salty, as well as the sad side Cesar salad. The A/C in minimum levels during a heat wave. People in the kitchen work slow and inefficient. There’s one big table to sit, that has not been cleaned since the 90s (floor looked quite dirty too). Advice: go for take away bread and run out to the door. Or look for a different bakery nearby

Don’t order take out. I ordered two breakfast Sammy’s this am and received two sandwiches with pork fat. There is no way to make two sandwiches this way by mistake. It’s not even edible.

Super cute for a small chain. Suggested sweet corn latte. Great suggestion. My friend had his usual Spanish latte and pain suisse. I had the quiche. Only complaint is that the quiche was a little cold despite being warmed up. Prices are reasonable and service is top notch!

Lovely little spot with wonderful selection. When you walk in you can smell the freshly baked goods as everything is made here in house. For this trip, I arrived just in time for Pain Suisse ! Imagine flaky layers that crunch when you bite into the Pastry. Wanted to try their pistachio croissant for awhile and today was the day. It does not disappoint... Good balance of pistachio paste and buttery croissant dough. Their cortado is perfectly balance milk-coffee ratio as well!!

Love this bakery! Highly recommend - their croissants and pan au chocolate are top notch. They also have cookies, savory croissants and lots of choices of bread. I haven’t tried it yet, but they do also offer a short menu of small bites. And finally, they offer coffee! I’ve tried their Spanish latte thus far, which I have to say - was pretty tasty. I don’t think I would come here specifically for coffee, but definitely hit the spot when I was looking for my coffee fix while already getting my bread! In my opinion, one of the best bakeries in the city!

This place is busy ! With that being said it’s busy for a reason, they have a lot of great food, pastry and coffee options in a lively atmosphere. The Lebanese flare on some of the signature coffees and croissants sets them apart from the every day spot. A bit pricey I may note, also nice environment to sit and chat with some hummus and pita if you are lucky enough to find a seat.

omg definitely a must-visit if you go to Georgetown. I'm Lebanese so I was thrilled with all the Lebanese inspired pastries and I was so happy to see people enjoying my country's food. Had to wait in line for 10 minutes but totally worth it!

HABIBI!! This is the best gem of DC and Georgetown! The line is 100% worth the wait, and moves very fast. Everything is incredibly flavorful and delicious. Tastebuds will definitely be in heaven. I did confirm that the lamb and chicken are halal! We had the lamb sandwich and chicken sandwich which was packed and they did not skimp on any ingredients. Now I could speak paragraphs about the food but the drinks are worthy of a review of their own. Their cold foam is out of this world! The Moroccan mint tea. Peanut dalgona , coconut cardamom were a huge hit. I have been meaning to try this place and has easily become my absolute favorite in the city. If you come to Georgetown or DC. Yallah is a must try!

I always saw the long lines on weekends, so this time I decided to go during the week, and it worked out. It was still busy, but not nearly as crowded as on the weekend. For my overall experience, I’d definitely give this Café 5 stars, the great food, warm atmosphere, and excellent service. The staff are friendly and quick to preparing your food. If you stay there, you’ll truly enjoy the cozy and welcoming vibe.

Not the best croissants I've tried, but not the worst either. Rather mediocre. If you live next door it's worth a walk, but it's not worth a trip. My biggest surprise/disappointment was the fact that prices are not posted. Why not to let people estimate how much they going to spend? Unclear what is the reason for that. Is it even legal?

We picked up a dozen birthday cupcakes, and also got a few treats from the case. The chocolate chip cookie was soft and had a great balance of flavors. The service was out of this world. The person who compiled our order was kind enough to wrap it so that it wouldn’t get wet as it was raining and we had quite an outdoor trek to get home. Looking forward to trying the cupcakes tonight!

I was intrigued by the name, so I Stopped by and picked up some pastries. They left something to be desired, and the price was high. I know that’s common for the city, but at least sometimes, the quality makes up for the price. I was impressed by the fact that they make everything in house. I would give them one more try.

Unfortunately, really disappointed with this almond croissant. It was extremely hard and dense with the only flavor being from the paste inside. The powder sugar was over powering and it reminded me more of a almond shortbread cookie. It was also extremely overpriced at $5. For grocery store quality, prices should match. Thought I would check this out before work, but not a hit. Still on the look out for a good almond croissant in DC.

If I could give this place -5 stars, I would. The girl working at the counter had zero functioning brain cells and gave me and charged me for the wrong item. After I corrected her multiple times on what I wanted. She charged me for a more expensive beverage than what I ordered. My friend then proceeded to order her iced coffee & the girl proceeded to say "so an iced latte?" which, mind you, is $4 more. And my friend only got her iced COFFEE not latte after correcting her twice. Also, the coffee is disgusting. Quite literally ruined my morning.

My girlfriend just picked a sorted box of goodies from Souk and we are in heaven. They are practicing social distance, and their baked goods quality remains high (more like amazing). *edited review - take out If you are looking for an amazing bakery in DC, look no further. From the flaky layers of a well made croissant, to the deep and foamy taste of a perfectly made americano - this place has it all. It really is an experience worthwhile.

I ordered two of Souk's pastry boxes and they were truly spectacular. I felt like I was getting what people eat at Michelin Star restaurants for a more affordable price... Creative pieces baked with careful thoughtfulness and high quality ingredients. I have since recommended these boxes over all of the others I have tried during quarantine! Bonus bc they brought me to the Capitol Hill area when I hadn't been in what felt like a year.

I am so grateful to have found Lala! I found her on Instagram and saw how beautiful her work was but I figured I would never be able to afford it and had no expectations for taste - I was so wrong! Thankfully, I reached out via email and she replied, and the price was reasonable and the cake was incredibly delicious! Just look at the pictures showing how beautiful this cake is! Do you see that tea cup inserted in the middle?! I mean how detailed and beautiful?! This was my cake for my baby shower tea party and everyone was talking about it, taking pictures of it and wanted another piece because it was so good! I chose chocolate raspberry for one layer and vanilla caramel for the other. It was perfection! I was really ecstatic about the tea cup, fresh roses and baby’s breath on the cake. Everything I wanted Lala made happen, even those pretty little gold flakes. I feel so lucky to have found her through instagram because she’s so professional (not always the case with social media). I would love to order from her again and encourage anyone reading this to order from her also! Thank you so much Lala!

What an an amazing artistic talent cake maker !!! The cake looks stunning and fabulous! Everyone was amazed by this beautiful piece of art work (hot cake) in the party!! The cake exceeded my expectation!!! It’s really tasty and perfect amount of sweetness!! And Lala is really professional and she knows what she is doing! I asked her for a cake topper with “happy birthday with Sicilian symbol”. She did surprise me, it looks perfect!!! OMG !!!! I also got the design what I wanted. Lala is hands down the best baker in the dmv. The talent she has to create such beautiful cakes is unlike any other. I have been a long time admirer and was lucky enough to finally be on the receiving end. It was almost too pretty to eat (but I’m glad we did because the inside was just as delicious)! Everyone that saw/ate the cake asked who made it and immediately followed her Instagram page and became a customer themselves. I will be coming back again and again. Thank you Lala!! This is by far the best cake I’ve ever had ! Not only was it delicious but it was so beautiful and exceeded my expectations. My family and I devoured every bit of it and literally left no crumbs. On top of the amazing cake, Lala is such a pleasure to work with! She is the sweetest person ever and her attention to detail is perfect. If I could give Lala a million stars I would! Lala’s cakes have become a fixture for my family and friends for years now. Her cakes are what make our special occasions so special. The taste and designs are just the best. She is the kindest and most professional person you will ever meet!

First off, Lala’s cakes are gorgeous, always! I mean so beautiful you don’t even want to cut it, but once you do, the taste is perfection and the cake itself is so moist. Lala made our wedding cake a few years ago and my guest were raving about the cake, literally no crumbs left. This is my family’s go-to for literally any and every occasion. She is our cake queen and just keeps us coming back. She is also very sweet and simply a pleasure to work with!

Original review: Misleading advertising - I ordered the butter pecan (flavored) cupcakes, but the cupcakes were not as described on the website: 1) The cupcakes were plain without any pecans and certainly were not "folded in" as stated in the website's description. The icing may have had "shavings" from pecans, but nothing more. 2) The icing spread was significantly less than as pictured on the website/advertisements, and it did not fully cover (maybe 2/3 ) the cupcake top. I decided to give 2 stars because the cupcake was moist, BUT overall, the taste was not redeeming enough to overlook the negatives.

Last week, I embarked on a noble quest in a new city for the perfect sweet potato pie, and my first stop was DC Sweet Potato Cake. Walking in, I was greeted by April, a tall, beautiful Black woman who seemed to understand my sweet potato pie addiction—perhaps even share it. Encouraged by her stories of another pie-obsessed patron, I left with six cupcakes and a small pie. Back at my lodging, I gave it the smell test: promising. I took a bite, and boom—the hallelujah chorus erupted. I returned the next day. The rest, as they say, is history.

This adorable bakery is the perfect spot to indulge in a cup of coffee and devour my absolute favorite red velvet sweet potato cupcakes. If you happen to be in DC or work there, make sure to swing by and savor this hidden gem in the heart of the city. Trust me, it's a must-visit!

Amazing. As a carrot cake fanatic, it was not hard to fall hard for sweet potato cake -- delicious and moist!! Excellent cupcakes too!! So glad to have them in Hyattsville.

Finding this beautiful and quaint space was an Happy Accident! I'm embarrassed to say that I stopped to use the ladies room. However, I still wanted Coffee. I was not sure if they were open or not, yet the Queen who opened the door for me was so welcoming and gracious. What a lovely cozy clean stylish space!! Loved the pumpkin cupcake that was perfectly fluffy and sweet!! Thank you for the hospitality!! I will be back!!
