Dominique Ansel Bakery, located in SoHo, is a must-visit for those with a sweet tooth. This bakery-cafe, led by the renowned pastry chef Dominique Ansel, offers an array of classic French pastries and unique creations that are exclusive to this establishment. While you may encounter a line at the entrance, the wait is well worth it once you step inside.
This Bakery was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to New York! Crumpets were phenomenal, I ordered the special that had a strawberry cream filling (that I absolutely loved!) but there’s plenty of options available and they all look delicious. Coffee was great as well and they had veggie milks available. Perfect place for a to go order, but definitely worth staying for a while as the place is really cozy and beautiful.

The desserts at Dominique Ansel Bakery were very tasty, and everything we tried was really good. There was a long line, but it was worth the wait. Definitely a spot to visit at least once if you’re in New York!
Rushi J — Google review
Disclaimer: I came near closing time and I’ve heard that there’s a big difference in quality between early visits and late visits, with items tasting better earlier in the day. We got a DKA (Dominique’s kouign amann) and a cronut and it ended up being almost $16. The flavors of the two were good but neither were flaky at all. No flakes to be found. I was very disappointed in the lack of croissant texture. I don’t think I will return as I didn’t enjoy the “must-try” items and it was expensive. The waiter was also nice but the person manning the register was kind of rushing to get us out of the restaurant.
Vivian N — Google review
Ansel Bakery is a true NYC classic! Their Cronut is really good, a little too sweet for me, but still delicious. I love their cookie shot with the milk inside! There’s plenty of seating toward the back, which is nice. Overall, I really enjoyed my visit. Definitely worth checking out at least once, they have lots of other great treats too!
Karina V — Google review
Dominique Ansel Bakery in Soho continues to live up to the hype. I popped in for a quick treat and left completely delighted. The almond croissant had just come out of the oven about an hour earlier and was honestly perfection—crispy on the outside, delicately layered, and filled with rich almond paste that wasn’t overly sweet. Every bite had that just-right balance of texture and flavor. A special shoutout to Chapel, who went above and beyond. I mentioned loving the extra toasted almond bits that fall off the top, and without missing a beat, she added a handful to my bag. That small, thoughtful gesture made my visit feel personal and warm. Great pastries, even better service—I’ll definitely be back.
Maryam — Google review
While traveling around Manhattan, hitting some bakeries and coffee shops, I stopped in at Dominique Ansel. It came highly recommended, and is the home of the original cronut, so I knew it had to be on the list to visit. There was quite a selection of options, and the cronut was pretty special. They even had a cute little outdoor garden space to sit and enjoy our food. It took them a while to get us everything we ordered, but all in all, I'd recommend giving it a try if you're in the area.
Eddy G — Google review
TLDR: 3.5 stars, liked the cronut texture but didn’t get the flavor. Cookie shot is good but also fairly expensive I liked the texture of the cronut, like a thin deep fried doughnut. However I didn’t know what the flavor on top of the cronut was, it didn’t taste like anything specific. The cookie made into a cylinder with some vanilla milk inside was a fun play on cookies and milk but for almost $7, seemed a bit costly as well.
Wilson T — Google review
Can't say enough about how friendly and kind their staffs are. Beautiful, beautiful place. You dont realize it until you walk all the way to the back and you see an oasis. Plenty of sitting areas for you to enjoy indoor and outdoor while you enjoy your delicious food/desserts. We had to try their chocolate chip cookie cup with milk in it. Wow! What an unique idea. It was so soft and tasty.

Supermoon Bakehouse, located in the Lower East Side, is a bakery that has gained popularity for its innovative and visually stunning pastries. Co-founded by Ry Stephen of San Francisco's Mr. Holmes Bakehouse, this bakery offers a unique selection of croissants, donuts, and cruffins (croissant-muffin hybrids). The croissants are described as having a distinctive appearance with rounded corners and a glossy sheen.
Not your typical bakery. I've gotten boxes in the past and I do think their pastries are top notch. I was in the area and stopped in becase I heard there was a summer elote croissant. Good, but I do wish the corn flavor was stronger. The place is not like any other bakery - more lab-like than inviting. The five stars are for my memories of what I remember being one of the better croissants in NYC.
Lisa W — Google review
Supermoon Bakehouse has a very edgy trendy interior mixed with such unique flavor combinations which is what drew me here in the first place. My friend and I had a hard time deciding what to get because everything seemed so interesting. We went with the strawberry matcha croissant, Banana pudding cruffin, and white Sesame, honeycomb & sweet soy gelato. We started by tasting the gelato which wasn't as punchy in flavor as we had hoped. The banana cruffin had great banana custard filling but we wished the textural difference between the pudding and the crisp croissant was more drastic. The matcha strawberry croissant was my personal favorite. ACTUAL matcha flavor which is hard to find nowadays and the croissant was so buttery and held its own against the sweetness of the strawberry! After trying everything else and the gelato melted a little the flavors popped out more! Definitely give this place a shot if you want to try new and interesting flavors!!

I love creative bakeries like this, who don't settle for the ordinary and try the daring. I gave their chilli croissant and the ube eclair a try. The chilli croissant had a nice flaky texture, as you would expect from any good bakery. The chilli cream cheese was inserted in the middle of the croissant, which meant it wasn't evenly distributed. The flavours were nice though and it's worth trying for something different. The ube eclair was done well. The choux pastry was just right. The uber icing and ube centre was just the right level of sweetness, with little candy pieces decorated on top, giving a nice crunchy texture. It was certainly the highlight. Would definitely recommend stopping by to try their creations. Not cheap, but it's all about the art.
Carlito — Google review
Got the spicy nyc croissant (savory, not really spicey, has cream cheese inside with hints of black pepper), and scallion pancake Danish (i like this savory croissant, not spicey, has nice crunch texture, very good, would get this again) Thai tea eclair also very good, tasty, taste just like Thai tea 😁 I was able to sit inside, limited seating. Also it gets busy, so go early, things could sell out and they will post a sold out label in front of the items. I don't go often, but every time I come here there's always a variety of pastries to choose from sweet to savory and all good and worth trying.
Jason M — Google review
Admittedly, social media brought me here, but—unlike other TikTok inspired food journeys—this was well worth it. I see some of the reviews touch on the brutalist architecture of the store, and I understand if that’s not your vibe but I personally loved it: I felt like I was in some video game or sci-fi 80s movie that involved dark warehouses and hidden pastries… although the pastry isn’t hidden: a lineup of croissants, eclairs, cookies and more are displayed along the counter and the very pleasant (and patient) pastry experts behind the counter and very sweet about helping you make a choice. I went with the ube eclair, which is probably the best eclair I’ve ever had. All of their treats are very pretty, but this one has an equally vibrant purple filling and the flavors were the perfect balance of buttery, salty, creamy and sweet. Fully intend on returning because I almost went for the Thai tea eclair and now I want it more.
Katherine S — Google review
Finally made a point of visiting this high performance bakery. Very spartan concrete & steel space with the functioning bakery behind a red toned industrial polyurethane curtains. All available items are placed on a 16’ stainless steel island. A little over 20 items were displayed on my visit from ice cream sandwiches to sweet pastries to baguette sandwiches for take away. I chose the passion fruit custard donut, mango lime custard donut, Thai iced tea bi-color croissant, ube éclair along with one scoop of Thai iced tea and Kaya toast gelato & a scoop of sesame honeycomb and sweet soy gelato in a cup. The gelato texture was quite excellent and the flavor was certainly unique and rich. I enjoyed them both. We saved the pastries for an after dinner dessert. The flavor of the passion fruit custard donut & ube éclair were absolutely exemplary. The mango/lime custard donut was very tasty as well. The croissant was larger than most due to the luscious Thai iced tea custard lurking within! All the pastries were filled abundantly! The two gentlemen at the island were all smiles & clearly confident of all the offerings. They were knowledgeable & helpful too. The items are expensive but that’s more a statement of the quality ingredients & labor intensive demands of each handmade product. I highly suggest a visit. It is a very worthwhile trip.
Thomas F — Google review
Talk about cool…. This place gives retro-futuristic vibes, like I could see a robot serving up the orders but also an actual really cool human waitress. The customer divide was nice and the pastries were even better. I do not like eclairs at all - or so I thought. The Thai tea eclair was soooo good. I also got the strawberry matcha latte croissant and it was divine. The strawberry flavor alone was so delicious like strawberry milk. I love how they were sold out of things but still had a good selection left by the end of the day and it wasn’t stale. Will definitely be back here. It’s not your average bakery
Kenni — Google review
Unfortunately did not have the greatest experience. Got 2 ice cream sandwiches which came to about $24 and the ice cream was melting before even opening the packet. They did add seating in the front so we were able to sit and eat there but it was a mess since the ice cream was essentially soup. There also wasn’t enough staffing to do the work in the back and mind the front so they weren’t helpful with quality control, we ended up asking for spoons because it was spilling out the of package and onto the table. Taste wise, the sandwich part was great, just wish we got to experience it as it was meant to be.

Breads Bakery is a spacious and bright bakery located in the heart of Union Square, NYC. Co-founded by Gadi Peleg and baker Uri Scheft, this bakery is known for its carefully crafted artisan breads and pastries. The menu includes legendary chocolate babka, decadent rugelachs, dense brownies, beautiful challah, and other delightful treats.
Popular bakery on the ground floor of an apartment complex. Fragrant even before you step in, it’s bustling with visitors in line to check out. Frequently restocked shelves of different pastries. The palmiers here were a lovely treat to get, petite but full of buttery sweet flavor. Staff are prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. It’s fast paced inside but wonderful to smell everything.
Kevin C — Google review
Very tempting butter aroma, the croissant was really good, with almond filling inside and a cookie-like crispy outside. Maybe the croissant was so good that the cinnamon roll looked ordinary. The store also sells sandwiches, lunch salads and soups, with a lot of choices. It is a bakery that has won many awards, I will come back to buy croissants and try other foods.
Louise ( — Google review
Signs announcing that this bakery has been awarded best baguette and best croissant are all over the walls of this bakery with good reason. Upon entering, you’re confronted with a really mesmerizing display of breads and pastries, and the bakers in-store are happy to discuss their products and help you make a selection. Because I am limited to the confines of my human organs, I could not eat everything and picked an almond croissant and a chocolate rugelach. The almond filling was delicious and smooth, and nothing was too sweet: completely perfect. I’m a little traditional with rugelach, and I think this felt a little more like a mini chocolate croissant to me, but it was delicious nonetheless! Will be returning.
Katherine S — Google review
Total waste of money. Insane you buy an almond croissant and you get neither of the distinctive traits that makes a pastry an almond croissant: the studded almond crust on top, and the almond filling inside. My crust had literally two tiny flakes of an almond. That’s it. 2 shavings. And absolutely nothing inside. Even as a basic croissant this sucked, it was flat and had no lift or air inside. Staff were nice but they can’t save this total disappointment of a pastry. Edit: In response to the reply, there was nothing inside. Zoom in on the pics and judge for yourself.

Thank you! Truly. Thanks for not making me late for work this morning. I saved $12 and got a healthy breakfast from my work fridge instead. Win-win. I usually stop by 2–6 times a week for the carb-loaded goodness. Lately, though, I’ve discovered a new perk here: the staff’s talent for such engaging conversations with each other that customers at the register become invisible. Watching 4–5 staff members ignore you on your way to work is… impressive. I leave with money still in my pocket and arrive at work on time. I’m starting to think this might be the best deal in town.
Explorer G — Google review
Went to the Union Square location- lives up to its reputation as a go-to spot for artisan breads and delectable sandwiches. We started with their sourdough bread to go, which is a standout. The slow-fermented organic sourdough had a perfect balance of tangy flavor and a chewy, airy crumb, encased in a golden crust. If you’re a sourdough enthusiast, this is a must-try. The olive and cheese breadsticks were another highlight. And we also got croissant and palmiers were superhit. They were a fantastic snack on their own. We sat and I ordered the egg salad sandwich. My wife ordered the roasted bell peppers sandwich with cream cheese on sourdough bread was the star of the meal. The roasted bell peppers were sweet and smoky, paired beautifully with the rich, tangy cream cheese. The sourdough bread provided a sturdy yet soft base that soaked up the flavors without falling apart. The combination was simple yet executed with such precision that every bite was a delight. The staff was friendly and efficient, making the experience even more enjoyable. Prices are on the higher side, as expected for an artisan bakery in NYC, but the quality justifies the cost.

Bien Cuit is a renowned NYC bakery known for its exceptional French-inspired baked goods. The James Beard-nominated breads, particularly the miche extra-fermented sourdough, have earned high praise. Using local ingredients and a small-batch mixing method, the bakery produces hard-crusted loaves with buttery, flaky crumbs. Their baguettes and pastries are also highly regarded.
Good job everyone! Bravo. You've had pizza all around New York but you've not had pizza on puff pastries before. That's for sure but this is the place you come to to see that happen. It tastes amazing. Really good.
Duran S — Google review
“Bien Cuit” means “well done” and that’s exactly what this bakery is. This humble storefront often has a delicious aroma that draws pedestrians in from the street. Their baked goods are extensive and amazing. There are both savory and sweet options. The breads are small batch and baked daily on premise. The design and branding is tastefully done; much like their food. I ordered a cafe mocha ☕️ paired with a financier wrapped with a chocolate bar filling… as you guessed, I’m a chocolate fan! Much of the real estate is taken up by their baking operations hence the lack of seating nor restroom. There’s a small selection of market items which adds a nice touch. In the late afternoon, I’ve also had their ham sandwich on baguette 🥖 which is also excellent. Overall, Bien Cuit is a winner, highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
LIEM — Google review
I love Bien Cuit! I used to live in this neighborhood and got treats from here every so often. I ALWAYS got the almond croissant , which I love. I recently stopped by and decided to venture out into some newness and got the pastry in the photo. It was a tasty mix of sour , sweet and salty. Good , but not something I’ll get to be honest. Definitely a must visit overall though!

No seating but worth going every day. Excellent coffee, croissant and must try the zaatar n lemon scone. Service with pride.

Paid $9 for a chocolate almond croissant, which was only alright -- I can't justify the price. Definitely on the sweeter end, and I didn't really taste a difference even with their "bien cuit"/well done style of baking. Overall a decent, but not must-try, croissant.
Irene Z — Google review
I've never had such a mid $8 pain au chocolat. I'm not sure if the pastry was stale, but the croissant was tough, not flaky. Every blue moon, I try and give this place a chance, but frankly they're egregiously expensive for a mediocre product.

When I heard about Bien Cuit I said to myself I have to go. It's super cute place with tables that you can sit and enjoy your coffee and croissant. The products are delicious, well backed and crispy! I took a traditional croissant with butter and jam and daniish with asparagus and cheese, delicious!!

Mille-Feuille Bakery is a charming French bakery and cafe that brings the essence of Paris to New York City. Renowned pastry chef Olivier Dessyn has honed his skills to perfection, offering an array of delectable Parisian pastries such as croissants, macarons, Napoleons, and cakes. The bakery's signature Mille-feuille, featuring layers of crispy puff pastry and luscious pastry cream, is a must-try.
The croissant class was a lot of fun! Love the chef and the staff there. You get a bunch of croissants to take home in addition to the dough that can be frozen up to 4 weeks!
Carol J — Google review
I've taken 2 classes here in the last 2 weeks! I bought a gift card for a macaron class for my husband's birthday. Chef Nicholas was kind, funny, knowledgeable, and VERY patient. The macarons we made were wonderful. I feel like I could make them at home! So, when my Mom came to the city for a visit - we decided to take the croissant class. We had so much fun! Again, Chef Nicholas was wonderful. And, not only did we take home what we baked... we also took home the raw dough we laminated to make our own at home. When my Mom got back to Texas - she put her dough to use. (Pictures from the croissant class and my Mom's creations at home are linked here.) I highly recommend the bakery for a fun-filled 2 hours of baking education. The Quiche Lorraine we brought home was fabulous also!!

Stepping into Mille-feuille feels like stepping into a charming Parisian corner of Manhattan—intimate, warm, and full of the kind of authenticity that only comes from doing things exceptionally well. From the moment we walked through the door, greeted with a glowing smile and heartfelt "hello" from Mounia, the experience was exceptional. Mounia was not only warm and welcoming, but her grace and attentiveness were unmatched—especially with my toddler daughter, whom she treated with the utmost kindness and care. It’s rare to find someone so professional and genuine. Her hospitality alone is enough to bring you back, but thankfully, the food and coffee elevate the experience to unforgettable. Let’s start with the latte. I ordered mine with no sugar, no syrups—just pure, expertly crafted espresso and milk—and it was absolute perfection. I believe they use Colombian coffee beans, and the result is a rich, smooth flavor that’s bold without bitterness and delicate without being bland. And then came the macarons—oh, the macarons. If you’ve ever had a macaron that was too chewy or too sweet, Mille-feuille will make you forget all about them. These were textbook perfect: a feather-light shell with a whisper of crispness giving way to a melt-in-your-mouth interior, delicately flavored and beautifully balanced. A true homage to the French classic. The almond croissant was another standout. The croissant itself had the ideal golden flakiness, and the almond filling was just the right amount—not too heavy, not too sparse. The ratio was so spot-on, it felt like every bite was designed to be the perfect one. And the chocolate chip cookie? Heavenly. Studded with dark chocolate, it was gloriously gooey in the middle, while the edges were just the right level of crisp. The quality of the chocolate and the balance of textures made it feel both nostalgic and elevated. The space is boutique and cozy, with a few bar-style seats in the front and some intimate tables tucked into the back. French music plays softly in the background, adding to the charm. There’s even Wi-Fi, making it a lovely spot to pause with a pastry and a laptop or a friend. All in all, Mille-feuille is one of the best bakeries I’ve visited in Manhattan. It’s a rare place that marries craft with kindness, beauty with substance. Wow! Enjoying the most buttery almond croissant and delicious oat chai latte on a park bench directly across the street from Mille-Feuille Bakery. The service was so personal and kind. The fresh selection of breads, sandwiches, cookies and pastries will make your mouth water. If you’re nearby, stop struggling to decide and go here! You will be so happy you did!

There wasn't a great selection of deserts on the menu at the Tartinery café & bar where we went for lunch, so after we finished our delicious food there we walked around the block to the Mille-Feuille Bakery for some pastries to finish off our lunch. We sat at the last remaining table on the pavement and enjoyed the best almond croissants ever, in the hot late summer sunshine - they were so tasty, buttery and full of almond paste, with a cross between a flaky and cakey texture😋😋😋 I had a cup of tea with my croissant and my wife enjoyed her usual weak, milky large latte with just one shot of coffee expertly made by our friendly server. If I wasn't so full I would have been tempted to also try another of the wonderful looking pastries on display.

I ordered a large assortment of pastries from Mille-Feuille Bakery Café as a gift for a team in New York, and the experience was fantastic from start to finish. Lorraine and the staff were kind, responsive, and went out of their way to help coordinate everything. The pastries themselves were absolutely delicious — perfectly flaky croissants, rich brownies, and the cinnamon buns were a hit with everyone. You can really taste the care and craft in everything they make. Highly recommend this bakery for anyone looking for authentic French pastries and wonderful customer service. I’ll definitely be ordering again next time I’m in the city!

Villabate Alba is a renowned family-owned bakery in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, established in 1979. The bakery exudes warm, old-world charm and offers an array of traditional Sicilian pastries alongside delectable gelato.
I recently visited to purchase a cake for my mom's birthday, originally planning to get a cheesecake. However, one stunning cake in the display immediately caught my eye—it was a Tres Leches-style cake with peaches inside, fresh strawberries on top, and a beautiful chocolate drip along the sides. The cream was incredibly fluffy, light, and delicious. Every guest at the party loved it! The store’s line organization was excellent, making the experience even smoother. I also tried their rainbow cookies and absolutely loved them. Highly recommend!

I’m so disappointed with Villabate bakery. Literally spent over $100 on pastries just to come home and find out all of the pastries taste and smell very old. It’s like they have been sitting in their fridge for months. They’re absolutely inedible. All cakes are very stale, the back of a strawberry is covered in mold. I called the bakery to let them know about stale pastries and ask for a refund. They refused to give me a refund and offered a credit instead. I will never step my foot into Villabate Alba again and don’t recommend them to my worst enemy. After taking a bite of a carrot cake I almost puked. I just lost over $100 because everything went straight in the garbage. It’s a shame they’re selling old stale cakes to their customers. AVOID THIS PLACE! They’re scammers!

This is, hands down, the best, old world, Sicilian/Italian bakery in all of Brooklyn. You name it, they have it! It's always so busy that you know it will always be fresh and authentic ✨️ I got my usual line-up of seeded semolina, a few chocolate Cannolli cream Cannolli (sorry, but we got hungry on the way home and a half was all that remains), plus chocolate and pistachio homemade Gelato 😋 One more note: You just can't go in and not be overcome with the many display cases full of fresh baked items! Bring money!! You definitely will not regret anything you buy from the famiglia. Ciao!!

The employee was not friendly, would not let me take pictures. I felt a bit rushed. No prices or flavors are shown for any items. It was hard to choose not knowing what it is.

The bakery is located in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn. It opened in 1979. They sell cakes, cookies, pastries, breads and gelato. The bakery specializes in Italian baked goods. I purchased an Italian bread, cannoli and a slice of tiramisu cake. The order tasted very good and was well-prepared. Friendly and helpful staff.

The best cannoli I have ever had. And the lobster tail was super tasty also! Worth your time to stop in!
IPW — Google review
Dishonest personnel be careful! On my visit to this pasticceria i bought 2 cannoli, 1 large sfogliatella, 2 Napoleons and another small pastry. In total 6 pastries the young lady picked each pastry in front of us there was 2 of us that saw her collecting our order. She told us to wait at cashier while she was wrapping the box. We payed a total of $ 23. No receipt was given to us! When home we opened the box there was 1 cannolo missing! Myself and my wife saw the worker of the pastry store pick 2 cannoli and we know that for sure as it happened right in front of us and we asked for 2 specific ones!! Another very negative thing about the store is that there are no prices nor names of the pastries which i find extremely weird that one has to ask and no receipt of payment given but we were told by voice. Last but not least as some other reviewers have pointed out personnel is very court and seems unhappy to be there..i thought it was a Sicilian pasticceria instead they are all hispanics…and they comment in Spanish about the customers. I am half Spanish from Spain so i understood them.. I hope the owner will take this situation at heart and look into finding honest personnel. Mi dispiace, ma no non tornero’, sono molto delusa e mi sono sentita presa in giro e raggirata.

Four & Twenty Blackbirds is a charming bakery and cafe located in Brooklyn, NYC. Founded by sisters Melissa and Emily Elsen, the eatery offers a delightful selection of handmade pies that change with the seasons. Drawing inspiration from their grandmother's recipes, the sisters have perfected the art of pie-making, infusing each creation with an authentic homemade feel.
I love pie, and thus am hard to please. I feel like you can kinda get away with a crappy cake but pie holds itself to a higher, more sophisticated standard, and flaws are harder to hide. This was some of the best pie of my life. It was ABSOLUTELY the best pecan pie I've ever had, I now not only understand why people like pecan pie, but I'm now an avid fan myself. I need to get this bakeries book and learn the secrets to their crust because it is perfect. Honestly, there's not much more so say. We tried their lemon, matcha, chocolate pecan and their cranberry sage and every one could not have been improved upon. Flavors were sharp, strong, balanced, great, deep matcha, the lemon and cranberry were tart without being sour, the pecan was sweet without being too sweet (they brilliantly use bittersweet chocolate. I could probably tear through a whole one myself). It's pie done right. Smooth custard fillings, flakey gold crust. And because this place is a paradise full of magical dream people they gave us a to-go cup of whipped cream. I love them. Happy national pie day everybody. For a celebration destination, look no further than this fine place.

I wish I had a better photo of the rhubarb pie - it’s beautiful and most importantly it tasted amazing. Finding just rhubarb pie is hard and finding it out of season in late September is even harder. I am so glad I could pre order this for my boyfriend’s birthday. It’s his favorite that his mom makes and he is so picky about pies but was really happy with one. Sweet and tart with perfect crust and crumble. Thank you guys for making it a great birthday

I’ve enjoyed their delicious and decadent pies in the past but yesterday I had picked up a blueberry pie I had ordered 2 days before. The blueberries were plentiful and delicious and the pie crust was unbelievably fabulous. I think this is the best blueberry pie I’ve ever had. Thank you. I’ll be back!

Super cute, nice staff, and inviting atmosphere. I've been to a lot of places where the "community table" seating is uncomfortable and awkward, but the one they have here is genuinely wonderful. The menu's definitely a bit pricey, but it's a really nice space to come for a treat and get some work done.

The pies from this place are amazingly delicious! My favorite is the Lemon Chess Pie - the best! This last time we had a cappuccino from Variety Coffee - the perfect temperature for a rainy morning. Where some places overheat their capps, here, they definitely make cappuccinos right. Also, my husband & I shared a Blueberry Lemon Muffin and Brown Butter Apple Strudel. Both were scrumptious Fall treats. The place is pretty and rustic with plenty of seating. The staff are always friendly!

Came all the way from NJ expecting a warm slice of pie, but the service was kinda cold. Latte wasn’t hot, pie wasn’t warmed up, and no one offered. You’d think a pie shop would be all about warmth. Anyway it’s my second visit, not great.

We went on a Sunday so street parking was not that difficult. We got some cupcakes because they looked pretty and the flavors sounded great but they all tasted horrible and were very hard that we each took one bite of each item then threw it out. We also got the pecan bar and a peanut butter Nutella one - both were not worth the price and my kids hated it. We also ended up throwing them out. Also the employee that was helping us seemed very impatient which caused us to feel flustered and I didn’t get to order more than I would usually for trying a bakery for the first time - albeit I have to say it benefited us since we didn’t like anything we did get so would just have been an added waste of money.

Went there because it's the only cafe close to my work. Place is small and expensive. When it comes to food and drink, it's very bad. I had a latte and a cheese biscuit. The biscuit and latte tasted terrible, and it was expensive. I spent more than $10 and had to throw out my drink and biscuit. I would not go there again.

Pretty community-engaged bakery. Cute space with seating inside. 🥐❤️‍🔥Croissant was out of my expectations! Their croissant reminded me of the pineapple bun in Chinese bakeries. It was brick-liked crunchy outside, soft and pliable inside. I made myself a sandwich at home. The apple spiced cake was a classic. Moist but a little bit oily for me. The brownie and cookie thing was the same. Delicious but slightly too oily.

So happy we went with Baked for our wedding cake. From the very first tasting, Annemarie was warm, professional, and easy to work with. On our wedding day, the cake was stunning — it looked exactly how we imagined and tasted incredible. We ended up going with the citrus passionfruit, red velvet, and almond matcha (our personal favorite). Usually not a cake person, but Baked cakes are undeniably delicious

Our wedding guests continue to tell us how great our desserts were—even many months later! So we had to make sure to send our thanks to Baked! We had a cutting cake with two different flavors: Oopsy Daisy on the top, Sweet and Salty on the bottom. Then we sent out platters of cupcakes to our tables of those flavors, plus a mix of others. Additionally, we were able to serve some gluten-free and vegan options for guests with dietary restrictions. Annemarie really helped us work through all the details beforehand, and everything turned out perfect on the day of. Again, we cannot thank them enough! Expect us to come back often, and especially on our anniversary, to pick up some treats!

This bakery is heaven!!! Like best almond croissant of my life kind of heaven. Can I say it was better than any baked goodies I had in Paris or is that too much?!?! Also the coffee is great but the Chai latte is even better. They use a real tea blend and not just from a box like most places. Nice seating options. Can’t wait to go back!

Radio Bakery is a haven for baking enthusiasts, offering an array of delectable treats that are more than just food - they're experiences. Their sausage chive focaccia is a savory masterpiece, while the Dutch sticky buns are a sweet indulgence that keeps customers coming back for more. Despite its popularity, the bakery ensures there's always plenty of pastries available.
The pastries here are fantastic. Expect a line on a Saturday morning, but it moves quickly. We got the corn pecorino focaccia and were completely blown away — such a unique combination that totally works. I’m still thinking about it. We also got the brown butter cornbread, which was excellent, and topped it off with the cheddar pretzel bear claw. If you’re into pretzels, that one will be perfect for you. They have so many pastries that you’ll want to come back a few times to try more. The service was very friendly, and everything looked amazing. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re looking for a great pastry spot in Brooklyn.

Interior/outside terrace: the interior is very functional, very few inside seating options. But it’s not like a comfy café. They do have a small outside seating area, which is nice, nothing special, but if you get a table there, you can enjoy your croissants in the sun. Food quality/price: good selection of savoury & sweet food, very delicious. I got an earl grey bun & a pistachio croissant. Both very delicious, like out of another world. Loved them. I found their food to be quite expensive. Suggestion: why not making tiny versions of the different treats (to a smaller price as well of course), so solo-visitors can try more delicious treats? Service: friendly, functional, nothing outstanding though.
Daniela V — Google review
Tried the Spicy Tofu Sandwich and Earl Grey Bun: both tasted really good. The sandwich had a nice flavor, though it was a bit too charred, which affected the taste. It would be great if they warmed up the sandwiches, as the bread gets hard and chewy after a while. There’s usually a line, but it moves quickly. The space inside is small with limited outdoor seating, yet the service is friendly and efficient. Overall, a solid spot for baked goods, definitely recommend and will be back!
Mounica B — Google review
It's not bad but a bit overhyped. The foccacia and sesame twist are delicious but the rest of the pastries are just average: - Croissant: no flavour whatsoever, the butter is completely missing - Corn cake: rich but a bit too sweet. The inside is a bit gluey. - Morning bun: can taste the early grey but also sweet, texture a bit dry - Cinnamon rolls: also sweet and dry Overall recommended to try if you are in the area but not worth travel the length of NY for...
Minh N — Google review
I’d heard great things about this Brooklyn bakery, so I finally stopped by on a Saturday around 1 p.m. As soon as I arrived, I saw a long line outside — and it continued inside as well. The shop itself is very small, with no indoor seating and just a few sidewalk tables, which fill up quickly. So my first tip: go early if you want the full selection and a shorter wait. The line does move fairly quickly, though, thanks to their fast service — and the crowd alone tells you how popular the place is. Even though it was already late in the day and many items had sold out, I still managed to get a ham sandwich. It was fairly large in size. I ate it in two portions ( however, I was not super hungry, tbh) and made with high-quality ham, a flavorful spread, and a sesame-crusted toasted baguette. The bread was a bit firm, but it seemed intentional. It wasn’t served hot, but it was fresh and made with high quality ingredients. I also grabbed a slice of their brown corn butter cake, which was incredible — unlike anything I’ve had before. It reminded me of cornbread but with the richness and texture of a butter cake. A really delicious fusion. To go with it, I ordered an iced mocha, and it was excellent. I’m usually picky about mochas, but this one had great balance: high-quality espresso and chocolate, thick texture, and just the right sweetness (leaning on the less-sweet side, which I loved). Overall, this bakery is absolutely worth the visit — especially if you enjoy unique baked goods and great coffee. Just be prepared for a line, and try to arrive early for the best selection. I’m already planning to return and try more of their menu.
Debisree R — Google review
I don’t know man. Maybe because my wife makes some slammin focaccia, considering the line, I thought maybe the food here would be outstanding but, I found myself gnawing or needing to tear the sandwich from my mouth after biting down hard on the bread. I did see someone bite down and use their fingers to help them tear it away. My jaw muscles shouldn’t get tried from having to chew so hard to be honest 😅 Maybe they’re baking at too high of a heat who knows. The chocolate croissant however was “very good” not sure I would 15 minutes again to get a sandwich or pastries here.
JC S — Google review
Radio Bakery is my no. 1 bakery in nyc. every time i go, i have to wait in line (~10-30 mins depending on which day and time).
what keeps me going back is their unique sandwiches and pastry 🥐 they always have rotating seasonal pastry and scrumptious collabs. what i have tried— ✨apple brown butter croissant ($7): crispy croissant with sweet apple 🍎 it is not overly sweet; just enough to fuel my day. ✨smoked salmon focaccia ($15): a perfect breakfast or brunch. it is packed with cream cheese, dill, onion, and smoked salmon. ✨earl grey morning bun ($6): my all time fav. it is fragrant with early grey, cinnamon, in a chewy bun. i’d always go back for this. i was actually going for corn custard tart but it was sold out within minutes 😭 people do not play when it comes to viral and seasonal bakery.

One of the best bakeries in nyc!! I stopped by around noon on a Saturday and had to wait in line for maybe 20 min. The focaccia sandwich I had was incredible and def hit the spot. Elbow Bread, located in Chinatown, is a charming bakery offering an array of delectable pastries and breads with a unique Jewish American twist. The former baker at Sadelles and the team behind Court Street Grocers have created a menu filled with mouthwatering treats such as caraway rye palmier, sweet challah honey bun, and a flavorful knish filled with dill, potatoes, and sauerkraut.
Loved it! Get the challah croissant and sauerkraut knish. The croissant was uniquely eggy. The eggs created a more tender, moister crumb than normal croissants, and the lacquered shell was full of browned egg flavor. It unmistakably tasted like challah. The knish was simply heavenly. The potato filling was rich, creamy, chunky, dilly, and tangy. It’s pricy, yes, but after tasting it I immediately went back for a few extra to bring home. It was so aromatic the smell just wafted out of the paper bag as I walked around—it was a challenge to not eat it on the way home! The other baked goods were nice but not as excellent as the two mentioned. The cookie could use a bit more soy sauce as a flavor bridge between the nori and chocolate chip.

Nice little bakery with a cozy vibe, though a bit pricey for what you get. I really enjoyed the blueberry kolache and other pastries , fresh and flavorful. Some of the sweet options were a bit much for my taste, but overall good quality. The place is quite small with no seating, so it’s more of a grab-and-go spot. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Worth checking out if you're nearby, just maybe not a spot I'd line up for.

It's amazing. Black sourdough bread tastes rich and I like it very much. If you haven't tried it yet, I think it's worth a try here. I also tasted the turkey clutch and liked the pickles inside. The taste is distinct. I will try other breads again next time I have the chance.

Great work yall. That’s a good gluten free muffin. The sour cherry ginger muffin… yum yum. The passion fruit ricotta donut is also fire. It weirdly tastes like lemon chicken (that Canadian-Chinese take out dish). But delish. Perfect texture. I went at 10am on a Sunday and they still had donut. Another time I went at noon and there were no donuts left. The line moves fast.

ELBOW!! DELISH! I will be back with friends so I can get MORE things. I tried the date walnut butter sandwich, garlic bail, and miso chocolate chip cookie. The sandwich was a perfect balance between sweet and salty with the most satisfying textural difference between the bread and gooey inside with little crisp bits to chew on. They pretzels weren't ready because I got there quite early but they looked SO enticing, cant wait to visit again! The crew inside was so chill, really appreciate their work!

I was disappointed because there w only one left of their chocolate babka. I was told that I have to come in early hours as it sells fast. Any way I tried their rugelach and it was close enough. The staff are helpful. The place is small but there’s few seating area outside. Will try to come back earlier next time. A little pricey but for me it’s worth it. This review is mainly for the chocolate babka and rugelach. For the rest of the menu, I never tried them yet.

Very cute and lovely tiny chocolate croissant I felt a taste that felt like it had a lot of inner strength in it. The sweetness was very well preserved and only the chocolate had flavor. The blueberry cream cheese pastry was a delightful combination of blueberries and cream cheese. The richness of the blueberries made me feel the love of the baker who made this bread. The fluffy texture of the bread with green onions and the addition of poppy seeds gave it a light yet fragrant flavor that whetted my appetite. Each bread had a different texture and was rich in toppings, so it tasted high quality. T.M.I🤫 I came to New York and tried Babka bread for the first time, and it was interesting to see how each bakery had a different flavor. Elbow's Babka has a harmony of coffee and chocolate, and the coffee flavor is a little stronger, so I think it would be perfect to pair with coffee.☕️🥐

Magnolia Bakery is a beloved bakeshop that gained fame after its cupcakes appeared on 'Sex and the City.' Known for its classic American baked goods, this cozy West Village spot offers an inviting atmosphere with vintage decor. The menu features a wide array of handmade treats, from cakes and cupcakes to cookies, bars, and seasonal pies. However, the real star is the decadent banana pudding made with layers of vanilla wafers, bananas, and vanilla pudding.
Visiting the original Magnolia Bakery at 401 Bleecker Street in the West Village is a great experience. The shop has a charming vibe with vintage decor and a cozy atmosphere. Their cupcakes are tasty, but the star is definitely the banana pudding. It’s smooth, rich, and absolutely delicious. They also offer a peanut banana pudding, though it’s not as impressive. Staff were super friendly. Expect long queues, especially on weekends. Parking is nearly impossible, so plan accordingly.

This is the viral bakery that I have been wanting to try for a long time. I absolutely loved it. They are known for their banana pudding and it was delicious. I went during the fall time and was able to try a few of their fall flavored pasties. I got a pumpkin cheesecake, a regular cheesecake and I believe it was some type of gingersnap pastry as well. Everything was so good. There isn't seating inside but across the street there's an area with benches I sat on to enjoy. 10/10 I would come again!

Magnolia Bakery is one of those spots that feels like a true New York moment. It is cozy, welcoming, and the kind of place that manages to be both iconic and genuinely good. Everyone talks about the banana pudding, and for good reason. It is creamy, light, and unlike anything else. But my personal recommendation is the chocolate cupcake with vanilla icing. It is simple, perfectly balanced, and exactly what a classic cupcake should taste like. The bakery itself is always clean and the staff are friendly, which makes the experience feel easy and enjoyable, even when it is busy. It is also across the street from a great little bookstore, which makes stopping by feel like you are stepping into one of those quintessential New York City days where everything lines up just right. Magnolia works for just about everyone. It is great for kids, but just as fun for adults who want a sweet treat or a nostalgic moment. Whether you are local or visiting, it is a must-go and a place you will probably find yourself returning to again and again.

Finally tried Magnolia Bakery’s famous banana pudding—totally worth the hype. Creamy, fluffy, with real banana chunks and soft wafers that melt right in. Sweet but not too heavy, and dangerously easy to finish in one sitting. A NYC must-try dessert—approved and devoured.

This is a classic. I don’t think it needs any more recommendation. I obviously got the banana pudding and I was very surprised at how good it was. I also got the seasonal pumpkin spice pudding, and it was the perfect fall dessert. I cannot recommend the banana pudding enough. I actually thought about ways in which I could bring this back to Europe, so now I’m hoping they would open up a bakery somewhere in Europe.

Stopped by for the second time while my car is being serviced at Lexus. This is a very nice cozy bakery with comfortable seating. Great looking selection of pastries, breads and sandwiches. Nestled on West 47th Street, the space had an inviting charm: sunlit interiors, rustic tiling, and that unmistakable scent of fresh bread weaving through the air. We ordered: – Strecci Pomodoro – simple, satisfying, and rich with the kind of flavor that speaks to well-honed craft. – Peach Pastry – golden, flaky, and gently sweet, with a seasonal brightness that landed just right. The food, without question, was enjoyable, and the interior carried a kind of quiet, rustic hospitality that made it easy to settle in. Unfortunately, the experience was dimmed by the service. The barista on duty was noticeably curt, almost dismissive, which shifted the energy in a way that was hard to ignore. And while I’m not one to linger on negatives, there’s something about service—especially in a place that celebrates warmth and craft—that shapes everything. Before we left, we had hoped to try another pastry, but what we saw gave us pause: multiple flies hovering near the display, some landing directly on the pastries. For a bakery of this reputation, it was unexpected—and honestly disappointing. I rarely feel compelled to voice critique, but in this case, the experience didn’t reflect what I had hoped. Still, I recognize the quality of their baked goods and the history behind the name. Perhaps it was just an off day. But in a city full of exceptional bakeries, the details—both in taste and in treatment—matter.

This is hands down the best focaccia bread I’ve had in New York, crispy on the outside, perfectly fluffy on the inside, and always fresh. Everything here is made with care, and it shows. The space is clean, cozy, and well-maintained, with a welcoming atmosphere that makes it a great spot to journal or unwind in the morning. The staff, especially Spencer, are warm and friendly, adding to the overall experience. A true neighborhood gem.

A fabulous addition to my bread-adventures, I braved a walk through times square (which would be terrifying in any conditions) in horribly aggressive wind I swear to god it was like getting run over by a pack of bulls but anyway I survived and I made it and I followed the festive Sullivan Street flag into this fine establishment. I was greeted by a rush of warm, foccacia scented air and an array of beautiful baked things. All of their bread sounded great but I went with the Truccione! An interesting choice since I'm one person and I think it would feed a family of twelve (GREAT price considering that). I'm still working my way through it. It's nice and airy inside, soft, nutty, with a great crust. It's making things like this sandwich you see here possible. I'm over the moon with it. Excited to try more of their breads

This was a lovely unpretentious bakery to have breakfast in. I had the breakfast sandwich, which though my picture of it is unexciting, was delicious, with rich Gruyère’s cheese, sausage and egg in a flaky croissant. I also had a cup of tea, which came from a really nice tea brand called “In pursuit of tea” (which aptly I then pursued to try and find that brand to buy to take home whilst I was there, and then never found). I wish I could have been there longer to try the interesting looking pizzas and pastries, but I did take home a lemon ring doughnut, which even when eaten the next day was fresh, light and just sweet enough, and not greasy, a truly perfect doughnut. Staff were super friendly and there was a nice atmosphere, though probably the seating area could be a bit cosier. Overall, really outstanding baked goods, would definitely revisit.

Almondine Bakery is a renowned bakeshop in Brooklyn that offers classic French breads, pastries, and light cafe fare. Located near the vintage Janes Carousel and offering skyline views along the waterfront, it's a perfect spot to grab a pain au chocolat before exploring the historic neighborhood of Brooklyn Heights. The bakery boasts traditional French delights such as croissants, fruit tarts, and eclairs made from choux dough filled with rich cre patissiere.
I went to Almondine Bakery while visiting the area last weekend and had a great experience! I was there early on a Sunday and the atmosphere was so quaint and relaxing. The staff members were welcoming and friendly. I have food allergies, and they went above and beyond to check with the kitchen on what would be safe for me to order. I really appreciated that! Everything looked so fresh and wonderful! I definitely recommend Almondine Bakery and look forward to visiting again soon.

Almondine is a quaint little shop, with some solid pastries, and okay coffee. The space is quite tight, and there isn’t much seating, but luckily the surrounding area is a nice neighborhood to walk around if you’d rather do that. The staff were friendly enough. Overall, a decent spot to stop for a bite and a coffee, but not sure I’d go out of my way for it.

I liked the croissant. The pastry of chocolate eclair was soft, but the flavor was good. The staff was very kind and the place was clean. A good spot to stop by. I will come back and try their in-house baked breads.

Excellent pastries… Specifically the peach Danish and the 10 layer crepe was perfectly balanced with sweetness… Not too sweet like you would normally find them in other US bakeries. Very fair prices compared to the rest of NY… Cozy seating area. Overall highly recommended for a quick stop & sweet fix!!

After enjoying some fantastic Dominican BBQ food from the Bark Barbeque stall in the 5th floor rooftop foodhall of the Timeout Market we fancied some hot drinks and pastries. So we popped into the delightful Almondine café next door where we had a delicious almond croissant, cafe latte & cuppa tea at one of the small number of tables inside the small café. Our server was very friendly & helpful. There was a display of wonderful looking cakes & pastries inside a refrigerated cabinet in front of a Bakery at the back of the café, so I assumed they must have all been made in house. There's a single toilet at the back of the café and it's probably not suited for people with physical disabilities as the front door is accessed from a flight of steps.

I had a really disappointing experience at Almondine Bakery in Brooklyn. From the moment we walked in, the woman behind the counter seemed cold and rude toward us. What really bothered me was how friendly and cheerful she was with the white customers before and after us, but with us, we’re Brown and Muslim, her whole attitude changed. No smile, no warmth, just a clear difference in how we were treated. It honestly felt like she didn’t even try to hide it, which was really upsetting. We ordered three hot chocolates hoping at least the drinks would make up for it, but they were terrible. All three were so bad we ended up throwing them out. I don’t know how you can mess up hot chocolate, but somehow they did. The only thing that was decent was the cheesecake. It was fine, nothing special but definitely better than the drinks. Still, the overall experience left a really bad taste. It’s sad because I wanted to like this place, but I can’t support a business that treats people differently based on how they look.

Tale of two halves here. Firstly the pastry, without comparison the best pastry we had in NYC. Delicious almond croissant which had both an exceptional filling and pastry that was so brilliantly crafted, it melted in your mouth. Just had a dreadful coffee at Butler so we walked here for a long black - again poor. So take away point is - go for the pastry and you won’t be disappointed!

Bakeri is a charming European-style bakery and cafe with two locations in Brooklyn, offering a delightful array of freshly baked Scandinavian breads, pastries, and sandwiches. The cozy atmosphere features rustic communal tables, antique finishes, and hand-painted wallpaper. Guests can enjoy watching the bakers in the open kitchen while sipping on morning coffee and indulging in treats like raspberry pistachio muffins or Norwegian skolebrod.
Bakery is a very cute and small bakery (there's only a few seating spots located inside so it's best to take your goodies to go) Tbh, I forgot the name of this particular pastry but it was yummy and filled with blueberries! Very soft and tasty. The staff was efficient and friendly. It's great to stop by if you're enjoying a nice walk around Williamsburg.

I took a visiting friend to Bakeri for coffee in the morning and it did not disappoint. I ordered an iced latte which was good and prices were comparable to other cafes in the area. They had a delicious-looking baked goods selection. My only (not so positive) note is that it was HOT inside. It seems as though they do not have AC or have very limited AC. There are also not a ton of places to sit so whether or not you will get a seat is a gamble.

SO delicious!!! I had a glorious lunch here- rotisserie chicken sandwich, kale grapefruit salad, green smoothie, chocolate chip cookies. Everything was delectable. Fresh ingredients and flavors, beautiful presentation, generous portions. I bake a lot and have a high standard for cookies and bread- these were incredible. Gooey inside, crispy outside, surprising and delicious flavor pairings with the cardamom and hazelnuts. Sandwich bread was just as good as its insides. Great ambiance too- Everyone who works here is warm and authentic, with good recommendations about menu and bakery items. Cool soundtrack, really cute decor inside, great visual texture. Overall really welcoming energy with a lot of personality- customers sharing tables/counters, nice outdoor seating too. Can’t wait to come back 🥰

Wow—delicious drip coffee and a gluten free berry Financier. Neighborhood is young. I see no one above 40 walking the streets or in the cafe. Good place to see what young professionals are wearing to impress each other. Back to Bakeri itself! Baked goods look yummy and nice that there was a couple GF and vegan options. The coffee bar can work if you WFR—see a laptop. There’s also a “WC.” Love the decor!

What a cute little delight this place was! Service was awesome and so polite and timely. Food tasted amazing and coffees were a great start to our day! If you are looking for sweet coffees this may not be your spot as they just have simple syrup for lattes, but if you love the rich aroma and flavor of espresso then you’ll be right at home! Seating is limited. But we took a spot out back on the little patio by the koi pond around 11am.

I really love the blue velvet cake. Due to short notice had to go with Vanilla which was good too. I requested the cake less than 24 hours they delivered. The edible candies I think it could be made of a gummy or a bit tasty. Didn't have a taste or just overall chewy. I would most definitely shop here again. They are worth every penny and great customer service. Timely response.

We always get our cakes from Mia’s Bakery and they never disappoint! The cakes are not only delicious, but truly beautiful every single time. The pastry chefs create the most stunning designs — this is probably our fifth cake from them! We’ve ordered for my son’s birthday, my baby shower, my 40th, and now my daughter’s first birthday. We’ve tried so many flavors and each one has been amazing. Consistently excellent — never disappointed!

I ordered a custom cake from Mia’s, gave them an exact photo on what I had wanted and chose flavors. Between their patience and day of picking up, their customer service is above and beyond. The cake decor was exactly what was provided to them in photo and the cake was absolutely delicious. Every single guest I had complimented on how delicious the cake was and I was so impressed all round. Thank you Mia’s!

We tried about 5 different bakeries for our wedding cake and chose Mia’s for their quality/taste above everything plus their ability to do exactly what we hoped for, responsiveness and price. We selected coconut and lemon blueberry flavors for our two-tier cake. We loved it and so did our guests. Mariam was especially great to work with and the cake came out perfectly and was delivered right on time. Highly recommend for their special custom cakes as well as the rest of their delicious everyday treats! Thank you, Mia’s!

I’m satisfied with the cake overall Mia customer service via Text message is amazing. They will work with you with pricing and what type of cake you want far as 139 Smith St. bakery that Mia owns customer service with one of the guys is very rude refuse to answer questions and over talks. Also, my pick up for my cake was 1 to 2. I didn’t pick it up till 4 and didn’t cut the cake to 7 And it was still cold sort of frozen in the middle, which was hard to cut the cake but overall it taste good look good and I would recommend to buy just deforested or let the cakes sit out a little longer so it can have the soft texture and you can actually taste it

I recently placed an order for a custom cake for my friend and I’s party. I ordered a vanilla cake with raspberry cream and also requested a custom design. The design came out adorable, my friend and I were really happy with how it came out. The raspberry cream added the perfect sweetness to the cake and it tasted freshly made. I was a bit disappointed that the cake itself was a little dry but the cream really saved it. Easy pickup and the staff was super attentive.

Fortunato Brothers is a long-standing family-owned pastry shop and cafe located in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. Established in 1976, this charming eatery offers a blend of Italian and American sweets, along with delectable gelato. The cafe exudes an Italian ambiance through its decor, coffee, and culinary offerings. Notably, it stands out for its marzipan artistry, where almond paste is skillfully crafted into various shapes like bananas and eggplants.
Such a great, timeless Italian bakery in the area for ages! Varieties of pastries, cookies, cakes, gelato, and seasonal specialties like St. Joseph’s pastry and a variety of things for Easter. They have pistachio sfogliatelle (lobster tail pastry) as well as other varieties, they have a cream puff shaped like a swan. Something many unique items that differentiate from other Italian bakeries.

I am writing to express my disappointment with the cake I recently received from your store. I am not a first-time customer, which makes this experience even more frustrating. In the first picture (purple cake), the handwriting on the cake was extremely poorly done. It looked rushed and unprofessional, completely ruining the presentation. The words were slanted, “birthday” was missing the letter t, there was an odd scribble at the bottom of the “B,” and the “M” in “Maria” didn’t even resemble an M. Because of this, I wasn’t able to take proper pictures with the cake. For comparison, the second picture shows a cake I ordered just a month ago from your store, which looked clean, neat, and well-presented. The difference between the two is significant. When I addressed my concerns with the staff, the customer service I received was dismissive and unhelpful. I was told the handwriting was done by the owner himself and this was considered “fancy handwriting.” I never asked for fancy handwriting, and what I received was not neat or legible. Then when I showed him the photo of the cake he proceeded to tell me “That’s how all the handwritings on the cake look”. When I pointed out that this was untrue and showed them a photo of the previous cake I had ordered, which clearly had different, better handwriting, they had no response. I was told the owner would reach out to me the following day, but no one has contacted me. Instead, the only “solution” offered was that in the future I should order cakes without handwriting and have the writing done at pickup. This is not a reasonable solution. I expected much better quality and service, especially for an important occasion. Unfortunately, this experience has left me extremely dissatisfied, and I will not be returning.

Ordered a cake for an early Father's Day surprise-and the real surprise was that it arrived completely smashed. When I called the bakery, I was told, "Well, we didn't give it to the driver like that," and that there was nothing they could do. This was ordered directly through their website. Unfortunately, this isn't the first time l've had issues. On several occasions, items were missing from my order, and when I called to report it, I was told they couldn't just send a driver out to fix it. One time, they even claimed a replacement item was sold out-only for me to place a new order under another name and suddenly it was back in stock. It's been one unprofessional experience after another, and I can no longer recommend this place in good faith.

Levain Bakery in NoHo, NYC is a relaxed spot known for its pastries, fresh bread, and oversized cookies. The bakery's famous 1/2lb cookies are loaded with chocolate chips and walnuts, making them a must-try for dessert enthusiasts. Originally created as a refueling snack for athletes in training, these hefty treats have become an iconic indulgence in New York City since the bakery's establishment in 1995.
Hands down, this was one of the best experiences of my life with desserts. Never had cookies like these before. These are humongous and buttery, sweet too. I tried 4 of their flavors (choco dark chip, choco peanut butter, choco chip classic and walnut) and all were unique and tasty. Infact I took these back home with me in a 19 hour long flight, where these lasted a week in a ziplock bag in my freezer. I would take a bit out microwave for 15 secs and there you go. Perfect dessert to complement your tea. Each bite was heavenly as if freshly baked in the oven. My personal favorite was walnut chocolate chip cookie. To those who are concerned about them being too sugary, you don't have to consume the whole cookie in one go. Save it for another time ;)

Food: We got the chocolate chip cookie and although it was good and THICK, it didn't seem fully cooked inside. It was very sweet but just wish it was in the oven for a bit longer. Service: Service was great and they were very helpful Atmosphere: Very cutesy and picturesc here. Overall, I would come back again but try something else. The pastries look and smell phenomenal, as always.

Saw this on social media and had to try it. Came on a Thursday evening for my bday treat wish and it was crowded with a long line out the door. Easy to get here by train. They had a good enough selection and can see someone in the kitchen making cookies. It’s a nice store and had some merch to purchase. Gosh, so glad we made it to try these delicious cookies while in NY! I loved them all. I forgot to take pics of everything as everyone at them right away but they were fat cookies and moist with lots of chocolate and ingredients. The Muffin was a small size I am used to seeing. Blueberry muffin Two Chocolate Chip Caramel Coconut Chocolate Chip Double Chocolate Chip (My favorite!!!) Prices are a little expensive but so worth it. This is a must try while in NY Manhattan.

The NoHo Levain Bakery should come with a warning sign: “May cause cookie addiction and spontaneous joy.” I casually strolled in for a quick snack and left questioning every life decision that didn’t involve these cookies. The chocolate chip walnut? A warm, chunky masterpiece. The dark chocolate peanut butter chip? Basically therapy in baked form. Staff was super chill, the vibe was cozy, and I may or may not have eaten half my haul before even leaving the block. If happiness had a street address, it would be this Levain.

If you're looking for a cookie spot in NYC, then you have (without a doubt) heard of this spot. They have a variety of baked good here, but are most known for their chocolate chip walnut cookie. I wanted to try their summer collaboration with Cafe Panna before the summer ended, so I headed here recently. The cookie was honestly pretty solid. If you are a fan of thicker cookies, then you would definitely love these. The outside is hard, but the center is so soft and the chocolate chips are still gooey. Definitely very rich and heavy. Would love to come back to try some of their other cookies.
Mia H — Google review
Levain Bakery is a famous spot for a reason — the cookies are massive and packed with flavor. We tried the classic and a dark chocolate one, and both were very sweet, almost overwhelmingly so, but still incredibly tasty. It’s hard to stop eating once you start, even though the sweetness can be a bit much. Definitely worth trying at least once while in NYC, especially if you’ve got a sweet tooth. A memorable bakery experience that lives up to its reputation.

I’ve been making a copycat, Leviain bakery chocolate chip cookie for about three years now. It is my favorite chocolate chip cookie. We had to stop here and see how close are copycat was to the real deal. We aren’t close. I thought the Tiffany store and the plaza hotel smelled good. This place was on a whole different level. We got the chocolate peanut butter the chocolate chip the rocky Road and the caramel coconut chocolate chip. All of them were great. My favorite was the Rocky Road. The service was awesome. They were super friendly and helpful. The store is super clean. We are excited to come back on our next trip.

Lady Wong Pastry & Cakes is a charming patisserie that offers a delightful selection of Southeast Asian-inspired treats. Founded by Andre Oliver, the patisserie features an array of homemade ice creams in fourteen flavors, including spiked options for those looking to indulge. The pastries and cakes at Lady Wong have won over many patrons with their consistently delightful taste and presentation.
One of the most memorable bakery visits I’ve had in NYC! I tried four of their cakes and each one was a work of art in both flavor and presentation. My absolute favorite was the Black Sesame Passion Fruit. The mousse was perfectly nutty, the caramel balanced, and the sesame crunch gave the best texture contrast. The Ube Blackberry was a dream for ube lovers, layered textures with fragrant ube caramel and a subtle citrus note. The Blackout Noir is a chocolate lover’s fantasy, deep Valrhona chocolate, silky ganache, and coffee caramel that’s rich and indulgent. The Mont Blanc Chestnut Mille Crêpes was delicate, creamy, and lightly sweet with a very refined chestnut flavor. Also tried their Pandan Latte, which was aromatic and unique, a cozy companion to the desserts. Everything here feels thoughtfully created, from flavor pairings to textures. This place is definitely a hidden gem for elevated, modern pastries and I’ll absolutely be coming back for more!
Bella L — Google review
Lady Wong is a flop! I’m disappointed by all the great reviews especially because most are from Asians. The black sesame passion fruit is pretty sweet and not as described at all. It’s suppose to be a black sesame moose but the consistency is definitely not a mouse and also has very little black sesame flavor. The best part was the passion fruit but there’s very little of it. I also got a pineapple cake was a bigger disappointment especially at $9 for 2. There was more breading than anything and the pineapple portion is definitely not 100% pineapple. The flavor is very off! I’ve had some of the best pineapple cakes in Taiwan. I wouldn’t waste calories eating any desserts from Lady Wong!

Delicious cakes and kuih! Every single cake is so delicious. Matcha pandan tart had a good mix of both matcha and pandan. Very surprised how the flavors mixed so well and it tasted so refreshing. Definitely unique as I've not had this flavor before. Black sesame and passion fruit had both earthy nutty flavor from black sesame, and then a good citrus tart flavor from passion fruit. Passion fruit and calamansi cake was light, fluffy and fruity delicious. The kuih was good. The custard was so soft and smooth, while the non custard kuih was smooth, just the right chewy texture and not overly sweet. Wonderful.

We got 4 things (black sesame, strawberry guava, ube nian gao, hazelnut crêpe cake), and everything had 9-10 flavor, texture, and design 😍—wish we’d tried more! All were nicely sweet and not cloying. It’s a very small shop but pretty and clean, with good service. There is seating. They tape the card to the bottom of the box so your goods don’t get messed up. 👍 The only sad thing is that they might not have your favorite pastry since the display always changes and sells out quickly. Strawberry guava was light and airy as a cloud and melts in your mouth. The balance between the savoriness of the sesame and tartness of the passionfruit is lovely. Prob the most unique thing on the menu for those unfamiliar with Asian flavors. I do think there could be more passionfruit to sesame. Hazelnut crêpe cake is soft, milky and easy to eat with a utensil unlike other mille-feuilles. I didn’t get that much praline flavor, however. Ube nian gao was my favorite. The inside is so so chewy and contrasts with the crust which reminded me of cereal.

Hit or miss depending on the dessert you get. I got 3 desserts: black sesame passionfruit, matcha tart and talam pandan. Didn’t really taste the black sesame, the passionfruit overpowered the dessert. Matcha tart was okay. The best one was the talam pandan, that actually tasted like the ones I used to eat as a kid. I’d still come back and try their other desserts.

Was told this was the place to go for some Asian fusion baked goods but a little unimpressed. While the mango sticky rice cake was good, the service and the cleanliness of the place was lacking. Granted we walked in around 7:30pm but the worker there wasn’t helpful with picking out desserts and could barely hear what she was saying. Also she seemed overwhelmed when an online order came through with something that was sold out but I guess she didn’t check until the driver came to pick up. Will have to try again for a more thorough review.

The stars of the show are definitely the pastries, baked goods, and desserts but I ordered a savory avocado toast in my last visit to Hani’s and it was truly exquisite, probably the only avocado toast in the entire city that’s actually worth the price. It was presented so beautifully that I hesitated eating it, but it was just as delicious as it looked. I love this cafe. The vibes, atmosphere, music, service, everything - is top notch.

This area bustles with many bakeries and we did a bakery crawl starting here first! The place is super cute and small as well. It has extra seating just outside Food : We tried their famous cinnamon bun and it was good. The bread was super soft and the flavours was lovely. The only thing that didn’t work was that it was too sweet. The cream on top was yum but too sugary Service and wait : Even though there was a long line and too many customers, the line moved quick and the staff was super sweet and helpful. Ambience : Small quaint place and with limited seating inside. Overall a good bakery with not just cinnamon roll but pies, pudding and cakes.

Second time going go Hani’s bakery. Went early enough to get the cinnamon bun. I was underwhelmed. Loved the icing but not the actual bun. Very good portion though, it’s huge. Could barely finish it. I did love the raspberry loaf. Had the triple chunk cookie the first time I went and it was just okay. Limited seating. So be prepared to take out.

Hani’s Apple Honey Cake is a delightful fall treat. Its multi-layered design combines honey cookie with braised apples, creating a harmonious blend of flavors. The cake’s moist texture and subtle sweetness make it a standout dessert, perfect for the season.

First time here, my friend asked me to meet this cute bakery. 9am, there is no line, and all bakery goods are prepared and displayed nicely. Iced Cold Brew was delicious. I got a slice of smoked salmon flatbread. Very good!

Very cute bakery! Got the carrot cake and a cinnamon roll. Both delicious and the icing on the cinnamon roll was delectable. However, flavors were a little lighter than I wanted. But the atmosphere of the bakery was great and could spend an hour or two here reading Update: I went again and the breakfast sandwich is amazing. Absolutely will come back again and again for that.

Best salmon toast I've ever had! Fluffy and crunchy bread fresh ingredients and topping go really well together. Cinnamon bun light fluffy and sweet. Delicious food and worth the hype. Friendly and helpful staff.

Service here is amazing! Staff is super nice but the food was okay. I got the carrot cake and the flavors of the cake were nice. But the cake overall was a little dry for a carrot cake. Also I wouldn't go out of my way to make the trip go to this place. The prices are a lil expensive for what they deliver. It is hard to compete with other pastry shops that offer better with the same price range. For this price point I expected a little more because it wasn't anything to write home about. I hope they get better in the future!

Last summer, amidst the challenges of the pandemic, Kimberly Camara and Kevin Borja launched Kora, a delightful donut and dessert brand from their Woodside apartment. Drawing inspiration from Kimberly's Filipino heritage, Kora has quickly gained popularity with its unique offerings like brioche donuts filled with ube custard. The vibrant colors and creative toppings of their treats reflect Southeast Asian flavors such as pandan and coconut, making them not only delicious but also visually stunning.
What a great experience! It was my first visit and worth my morning walk. I anticipated a long line and was welcomed by the owners. They show how much they truly appreciate each and every customer. My favorite was the ube latte and ensaymada croissant, but all of their drinks and baked goods are phenomenal. I can't wait stop by again and try some more treats. Their entire team are so kind and make the wait worthwhile. I appreciate how organized the entire visit was- from the line outside, inside the store, the kitchen, check out, etc. They put a lot of thought into making it a seamless and enjoyable experience.

The donuts here are amazing! I think we got 5 in total today and they were so fresh. Everything was delicious!!! Def recommend coming here. The ube donut and apple fritter donut are a must. All the donuts were so light despite the fillings and weren’t overly sweet. Hoping to stop by soon again.

Had to try this place because of their flan, and they delivered. I'm not a fan of donuts, but I was surprised about the flakiness of the dough, also not too sweet nor greasy, paired with a good and firm flan.Definitely a must try. The lemon cookie was a last minute addition and tasted good. The Ube was also a nice surprise as it was the mango float (I wish they could make a plain custard one!). The only complaint is in the matcha cruller, too greasy for my taste. They open late and there are plenty of people in line even during the week. It's easier to get pastries later in the AM but past 11:30 AM they might be sold out. Kudos to one of the owner for trying to make sense of the line outside.

Amazing food! Creative and mouth watering flavor combinations! A lovely introduction to filipino culture! Love the atmosphere inside and the seating. Worth the hype and the line out the door that moves quickly, they’ve got the efficiency down! My fav pastry was the sugary butter cheese croissant! Will be coming back again and again

I had been meaning to try Kora for so long but kept missing the pop-ups. When I finally did go on a Sunday at 9am I anticipated the wait but the staff was INCREDIBLY helpful in coming out, explaining the wait, the process and giving us hope, answering questions on what they would likely have and what might sell out. I got inside about 10:15 and loved the space. The decor is very neutral toned and I recommend sitting if you can. Since there is currently a 6 pastry cap, I got the ube babka, coffee cruller, cinnamon cruller, spam pan suisse and leche flan donut. Every single one knocked my socks off. I have been to allot of bakeries, and several Michelin Star restaurants, but I can't think of any that compare to Kora's pastries in terms of variety of flavor, texture & dynamics of taste. The lofty, butter-rich steam air that is trapped inside each layer, the soft and supple textures of the bites was intoxicating. The spam pan suisse with pimento cheese had a touch of savory heat while the outer glaze added crispy, crunchy sweetness. The the braided babka touched with salt played well together with the sweet profile of the ube center. I am very partial to coffee/coffee cakes and the Coffee Cruller was my favorite. The outer layer and coffee is delicious but I could not believe how tender, cloud loft, buttery soft the inside was. Even if the pastries are sold out the cookies and coffee are sold throughout the day and the full glass storefront lets in plenty of light. It is going to be my go-to coffee shop. Also, I really appreciate the signs in front explaining the current situation with the facilities, projected waits on weekdays vs weekends, and the explanations of the multi-day processes it takes to prep elements that go into the pastries. PLEASE don't be upset if items are sold out as all new businesses have growing pains. Do your homework and plan for a 1.5-2 hour min window from the time you arrive to when you eat. You can taste the effort and artistry in each bite, so make time for the experience (just my input).

Ok, so I’m not the person that likes standing on a line for something, but I’m so happy I did. While waiting in line, someone kindly came and spoke to us and shared some Expectations such as respecting the neighbor businesses by leaving space open for the doors. Super sweet. Anyways, once the bakery opened their doors, they had us come in groups to keep order and give us a good experience. They have a huge window so you can see them preparing the goods. Everything looked amazing so I had to buy a few different ones to try. Faves are the flan one and the ube donut. Everything is tasty and beautiful. I also tried one of their signature drinks and even though I don’t like coffee, this one was amazing. All this to say, this place is beautiful, the staff is super nice and the goods are amazing. It’s a must and it’s worth the hype.

As a Queens native, I have been waiting to try Kora for years and finally got to try them out! I got there on a weekend around 9:30am and got inside by 10:30, which was expected. There was a worker who came out and greeted everyone, and also updated everyone on the timing/amount of pastries left which was very nice of them! Once I got in, I was greeted at the door and all of the workers were very hospitable! I truly appreciate their warm attitude during such busy shifts. I ordered 5 pastries since the limit is 5 and I got: the ube donut, the leche flan ni lola donut, ube babka swirl, passionfruit bun donut, and the ensaymada croissant. My #1 pick was definitely the leche flan ni lola donut!!! Absolute fire. The ube babka swirl was my 2nd favorite, do not sleep on it. The rest were also good, however, the ube donut was a little underwhelming in flavor and the passionfruit had a nice cream but the donut itself was very doughy in texture. I am a huge foodie and growing up in Queens, NYC, we are exposed to so many great bakeries including Filipino bakeries in Woodside. I love the flavors of Filipino pastries and desserts and I guess I was expecting a wow factor after waiting so long to try Kora. The leche flan donut, I would definitely order again. The rest, maybe not. But that is my preference and I would definitely come back to try the other pastries that I couldn’t try this time around!
Elif D — Google review
Would travel and line up to wait for Filipino pastries and coffee anytime. If you’re willing to do the same for food, Kora will be worth it! Right before the store opens, one of the owners and the staff will go outside to greet the waiting guests and brief them on how things will go. This was a nice touch as I didn’t feel so lost. I did anticipate a line and a wait. All in all? It took about almost an hour to get inside. Not bad of a wait, but I had company too. So that was a good way to let time pass. Once inside, it felt warm and welcoming. We got in line and someone from the counter will assist you to choose your pastries. They place the pastries on a “bilao” or tray/basket. Note: A max of only 6 pastries per guest. Then you reach the cashier and you can order a drink. Pay (and tip 😄💕) and then wait for your order to be boxed and name to be called (if you ordered a drink). My friend and I stayed a while to chat and enjoy the pastries. It’s a good idea to go with someone so you can each order other pastries and have a pastry tasting party! Haha I might be too lazy to type in each pastry we tried and share my comments, buttt so summarize: you won’t go wrong choosing any of the pastries! The hot Ube Latte complemented the sweetness of all the food we ate. Each piece was honestly not too sweet either. I had leftovers and will try to toast the croissant to have a little crunchy melted cheese top. 😍 would go back again!

Laurel Bakery in Cobble Hill offers a delectable plain croissant that is small but packs a flavorful punch. The diamond-shaped pastry has a delicate, buttery texture with airy holes inside. Pair it with a baguette and pain suisse for the perfect lazy weekend morning treat. Additionally, their ramp & cantal escargot is highly recommended and worth returning for. The staff is friendly and professional, adding to the overall pleasant experience at this neighborhood gem.
I was on the hunt for some bread to make a tuna salad sandwich for a cheat meal. And I’m glad I found this spot, everyone was kind and incredibly patient as I slowly looked at their breads. They answered my questions patiently and it was just incredibly relaxing. I bought a focaccia bread and it was incredible, and their iced coffee was also incredibly smooth. I highly recommend this spot.

Finally tried multiple items and feeling ready to review. For sure a bakery worth to visit in the area. Many unique pastries and bread. Some spaces to improve. Croissants: overall good, flaky and crispy, but inside were slightly dry. I got a brick-shaped one with chopped pistachio and the Kouign-Amann. Deli rye was gorgeous too. Really soft with crunchy edge. Based on my long-rye-eating experience.. I think it was less impressive and slightly dry.

I had high hopes for this bakery after hearing several local recommendations, but I left disappointed. First, the pricing is surprisingly high: $8 for a small croissant, $6 for an iced drip coffee, and $6.50 for a cortado. For comparison, places like Hanis and Librae charge lower prices for much larger portions and higher quality. Unfortunately, Laurel’s croissant didn’t justify the cost: the interior wasn’t soft enough, and the outer texture felt overly thick and coarse. The coffee was similarly underwhelming, leaving me questioning how these prices are set. Overall, Laurel simply doesn’t deliver the quality to match its premium pricing. I won’t be returning, and I’d recommend exploring the many better and more affordable bakeries nearby in Brooklyn Heights and Dumbo.

Came here on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Literal best savory croissant of my life. Had the mortadella, pistachio, and pecorino croissant - their version of a ham & cheese croissant - and I didn’t want it to end. The dough was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Service was great. Space is really nice but be wary there is no indoor seating. A few tables under an overhang outside. Will happily sit in a bomb cyclone to eat this croissant. Enjoy!

Everything I've had here has been exceptional - usually getting a few pastries and maybe a sandwich. Love that you can get super high quality pastries with seasonally focused ingredients and interesting + well balanced flavors with less of the line / chaos of similar places like radio or l'apartment. Laurel is better in my opinion too! Many fruit pastries let the fruit flavor get overpowered by the general sweetness but not here. Not sure what the complaints about the staff/slowness are about, the person working the counter has always been kind and patient, and there hasnt been much of a line in my experience.

New favorite pastry spot. I think I've tried all of them at this point and they're all so good! Especially the Blueberry Danish, Pain Suisse, Kouign-Amann, and the honey/ginger loaf cake. So basically all of them haha. The cookie was pretty great too. Need to try the Jambon Buerre next time!
Sandy S — Google review
Must-try the ramp & cantal escargot (wonderfully savory, olive oil touch). Nicely balanced crunch & texture of the kouign-amann. Try the sunflower milk with coffee ☕️
Peter I — Google review
There are thousands of pastry options in Brooklyn, all of which you can convince yourself are subtly different in some way, especially if they're hyped up and garnering lines down the block. Laurel somehow doesn't have that same hype but they're the real deal. Everything I've had here is the best of that thing I've ever had: the canelés, the speculoos rolls, the foccacia, the bostock. Every detail is thought through, down to the homemade butter. This place is about depth over breadth (and hype) and on top of that, Nico couldn't be kinder, for someone so clearly meticulous. It's a little out of the way, so I'm writing this review in the hope that it lasts!

Angelina Bakery is an Italian bakeshop with two locations in Hells Kitchen and Times Square, offering a wide variety of breakfast pastries, cannoli, tarts, cakes, and high-end donuts known as bombolones. These Italian-style donuts come in flavors like chantilly cream, Nutella, pistachio cream, and Boston cream. The bakery has recipes passed down over generations and is loved by both tourists and locals.
Nice bakery shop with a good variety of pastries, desserts, and coffee. The crossiants and savory breakfasts are quite good. The Strawberry Bombolone is too sweet for me - it's a donut outside with strawberry cream inside. The matcha latte and coffee are quite fine. They have skim milk options. Also they can serve just hit milk for people who don't want coffee. Nice vibe with adding dining areas upstairs.

It was suggested to me by the both agent at the Neil Simon theater largely because it was so close to the theater, had great baked goods and also had outside a lot of seating which allowed for comfortably hanging out until show time. It did not disappoint 👏 It has a lot of options, both to eat and drink... the service was friendly enough and very efficient... I had an Italian Cannoli, a Lemon Merengue Tart & a Turmeric Iced Latte... Although the tart was a bit too sweet for my liking, it was so very yummy and the Cannoli being DEEELISH made up for any downside ;) Everything was a good portion for the buck 😋

My roommate and I wanted to try their croissants and we got the pistachio one! It was so good but if you're not into sugary things, I suggest that you don't order this, because it's super sweet! Don't forget to have some water with you or order water with it! Ha! Not much of a wait time either! Great place!

Saw the beautiful looking pastries from outside and knew I had to give it a try! I bought the Chantilly donut and a pistachio croissant. Loved them both! The Chantilly was a soft bite with light vanilla cream and the pistachio was thick enough to enjoy the flavor mixed with the croissant. Not only are the pastries good, the sitting is very cute. Not large but they do have additional sitting on a 2nd floor. Worth a try!

The staff here is super attentive and friendly. The restaurant itself is clean and comfortable. The pastries are beautiful! But the flavor is just okay. I had the mini Chantilly cream croissant and a mini strawberry bombolone. And a small shaved coconut gelato. The gelato was on point, creamy, flavorful, and fresh. Both the bombolone and the croissant had good pastry but the creams/fillings were heavy and not very tasty.

Doughnut Plant is a unique bakery known for its handcrafted donuts in a variety of unusual flavors such as crème brûlée and tres leches. The shop offers an extensive selection of donuts that fall into different categories, including nostalgic, newfangled, cake, and yeasted options. The bakery's signature rose doughnuts with canele-like ridges and two-tone icing modeled after the iconic black-and-white cookie are particularly popular.

Cute little donut shop that I wandered into on my way to meet a friend. Too bad there's not a lot of sitting room - it was definitely on the more cramped side but I can appreciate the effort on the donut related decors. The donuts themselves were also just so-so. Very unique and fun flavors but maybe it was because it was cold when I finally got to eating it, but it tasted a little dry.
Kat — Google review
The first time I discovered Doughnut Plant, I gave it 5 stars because they were truly the most spectacular doughnuts I had ever tried. Every time we planned a trip to New York, our reaction was always the same: “Yes! We’re going to eat Doughnut Plant!” But this time was a big disappointment. We went three times, and all three times were a bad experience. We visited three different locations, at different times of day, and unfortunately, the result was always the same. They used to stand out for their flavor, texture, and variety — they were really special — but now they just feel like any other doughnut shop. The crème brûlée no longer has that crispy top that made it unique, the vanilla bean was completely melted, and even the Valrhona hot chocolate, which used to be rich and intense, has lost its depth. At the Grand Street location, the service was particularly poor — the staff looked upset, served with bad attitude, and seemed annoyed all the time. This didn’t happen in the other two locations, where at least the service was polite. It honestly makes us sad, because for years this was our favorite place. Whenever friends or family came to New York, we always told them they couldn’t leave without trying these doughnuts. But now, unfortunately, that’s no longer the case. We want this to be a constructive review, because we truly value what Doughnut Plant once was. Hopefully, this is just a rough patch, and they’ll soon go back to being the best doughnuts — like they used to be.

Nestled in the vibrant neighborhoods of Soho and the Lower East Side, Little Cupcake Bakeshop is a delightful haven for dessert lovers. This charming bakeshop specializes in traditional American sweets, all crafted with sustainable ingredients in an eco-friendly environment. From colorful cupcakes topped with fluffy frosting to delectable cake cups—especially their famed Brooklyn Blackout Cake, which has a rich history dating back to the 1800s—there's something for everyone here.
I drove past a cute and vintage-looking cupcake bakeshop and thought, “Oh my gosh, it’s so adorable!” I grabbed coffee just two minutes away and wanted something different from the coffee shop. So, I decided to walk to the bakeshop, and I have never had such amazing cupcakes in my life! I tried the strawberry shortcake, carrot, coconut, and red velvet cupcakes. The bread itself was so fluffy and not too sweet, just perfect. The frosting was just right! I highly recommend this place. I also tried their almond croissant, which I’ve never had anything like before!

I have been to the city many times over the past few years. I finally made my way into this gem of a bakery. Between the cakes, muffins and pies there is something for your palate. I chose the carrot cake cupcake. It did not disappoint. There was a perfect balance of sweet and savory. There was a hint of ginger and it was moist but not wet as some carrot cakes/muffins can be. The cream cheese frosting was soooo good. I wish had also gotten the hostess cupcake. Yes that’s right like the ones from your childhood. Except these are made fresh and not processed. See photo. Thanks to the staff who were super nice and the ambiance is what I would expect of a fanciful bakery. My rating is 5 stars.

Such a cozy little cupcake spot in Nolita — it feels super homey, like everything was baked with love right in someone’s kitchen. The vegan cookies and cream cupcake was seriously delicious (moist, not overly sweet), and the red velvet was really good too. Definitely want to come back to try their popular chocolate cake next time. Only downside is that their website could use a little refreshing — it doesn’t quite match how cute and warm the shop feels in person.

Popped in to try some sweets. The S'mores bar was a 3.5/5 as it was a little dry. The Nutella Bar was a 4/5. The Apple Crumb Bar was a 5/5 and was by far my favorite. I'd come back just for that. The service was great as the staff members were super nice and professional and there was no wait.

Giving stars because the shop looks nice and the workers were decently understanding when I expressed my concerns about their brownies. The cupcakes and brownies are very overrated and too sweet. They look delicious but the taste doesn’t match up unfortunately. Everything is overpriced for a mid cupcake. The rice Krispie treats may be the best thing there though! Overall, I wouldn’t come back

The strawberry cake flavor is decent but the texture is dry and needs to be more moist. For $10 per cake slice, I expect a higher quality product. The Brooklyn Blackout cake is not good and has a weird after taste.

It's cute and cozy. Always go there when I crave a gluten free cupcake. They're the best I had in NYC. Their vegan chocolate cupcakes are amazing as well. I would imagine the non gluten free cake and cupcakes are as good if not better from all the happy sugared faces.

My daughters treated me to a delicious raspberry vegan bar 3 years ago. I loved it!!! They have since shipped the same bars to me out of state. Came into town to spend my birthday with them and upon my arrival… my favorite bar waiting for me. I was so excited until I had my first bite and immediately noticed the bar is simply not the same bar. The crust is now very cake-like and devoid of flavor. The ingredients that made this bar my go to dessert in NYC have definitely changed and not for the better. It’s as if the ingredient list has been pared down to the bare minimum and the taste and texture reflects this sad change. Unfortunately, I will not return to LCB while visiting NYC nor ask for a special shipment.

Peter Pan Donut & Pastry Shop is an old-school bakery located on Manhattan Avenue in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The bakery offers a wide variety of donuts and pastries, as well as shakes and egg creams. It has been a staple in the area since the 1950s and is currently owned by Donna and Christos Siafakas, who took over in 1993.
The iconic Peter Pan was packed on this perfect picturesque day. The donuts are huge, delicious and reasonably priced. The crazy long line moved super fast. Dressed in bright colored smocks the donut specialists (?) were friendly and easily handled the multiple hungry customers on line. These donuts are so so good. Enjoy

Everything is great about this place. First, the donut was really, really good. I tried the traditional glazed, and it was honestly incredible. Secondly, the service was super friendly and helpful. The girl behind the counter was really kind. Last but not least, it's hard to beat their prices, especially in NYC.
Aon — Google review
I was in the area so I finally stopped by Peter Pan Donuts. I tried the blueberry buttermilk donut first, and honestly, it was pretty dry. Mike’s Donuts in Bay Ridge definitely does a better blueberry donut. The apple crumble donut, though, totally saved the experience. It was excellent — the apple filling and pie crumb topping worked perfectly together, and it wasn’t overly sweet. Definitely the highlight. From what I saw (and tasted), their cake donuts seem to run on the dry side. I’d stick to their yeast donuts instead, since the sour cream, old fashioned, and chocolate cake donuts all looked dry too. Customer service was fine — not rude, but I did have to flag someone down to get served once seated. Overall: 3/5.

I was ready to be absolutely blown away by the doughnuts here and bought two to test both. Firstly, and perhaps my fault, the offer wasn’t as broad as I’d hoped due to selling out. I really wanted to try glazed/plain plus one of the jam options that I did try. On both doughnuts the pastry was exceptional - mixture of light and full of flavour. Jam was too much for me - felt too processed/thick/sugary. It’s a good offer so I’d recommend trying. Queue is long but moves quick so don’t be put off by that.

We visited here on a Sunday morning around 11 am, just before the lunch rush. I was hoping to order an apple fritter, but they ran out, so I ordered a honey dip and a lemon filled donut, which was generously filled. The texture of the donuts was soft and chewy, making it a perfect snack! I loved the old-fashioned diner vibes with the barstools and decor. This joint was reasonably priced, especially considering the price of quality pastries in NYC, but I would definitely recommend visiting early in the morning for a greater selection of flavors. I would definitely recommend visiting Greenpoint Toys across the street with its wide array of toys for all ages.

I so wanted to like this place but the donuts were…. beyond mid. Their classic honey ring donut had an oily, unfresh taste and their blueberry cake donut was similarly gas station-like. The staff were super friendly and the retro vibe inside is very cute. My NYC donut search continues :(

Was recommended by NYPD cop and wanted to like it, but was trash food. Went there late AM July 28 and it was the first and only thing I ate that day. Had coffee, red velvet donut but marble cruller was off, really oily from the fryer and just bad tasting chocolate. But that was enough to upset stomach and started vomiting later so everything came out until nothing left. Otherwise, staff was wonderful, prices good, cool atmosphere... but we'll never go back.

Mah-Ze-Dahr Bakery is a renowned cafe with multiple locations in New York City, offering an array of delectable treats such as cakes, brownies, pastries, and cookies. The name "Mah-Ze-Dahr" translates to the essence of food in Urdu, reflecting the bakery's commitment to providing a unique culinary experience. Founded by Umber Ahmad in 2014, this establishment has gained recognition for its exceptional cheesecake and The Devil in Ganache chocolate cake.
Stumbled into this bakery on a rainy nyc Saturday. The line was long but we got through it quickly. There is additional seating in the hallway in the back. The owner is so friendly and you can tell they really care about customer experience. We will be back again and again for years to come!

Not what it used to be. Maybe my memory betrays me, but this old-fashioned donut is way sweeter and greasier than a few years ago. It’s contrary to Mah-Ze-Dahr’s philosophy of “not too sweet”. I stopped coming here because they never had the old-fashioned donuts whenever I visited—the brioche donuts are not a substitute. I was ecstatic to see it in the display case as it has been years since I had it, but it’s just not the same. Still pretty good though.

In a world that moves too fast, this little coffee shop feels like a beautiful pause. The beans they use are of the finest quality — rich, aromatic, and full of character. Every cup is crafted with such care that it feels less like a routine and more like a small ritual. The baristas greet you not just with skill, but with genuine kindness, making each visit a reminder that good coffee and good people make all the difference. This has become my daily sanctuary, a place where my coffee break turns into a moment of inspiration and energy to embrace the day ahead. Grateful to have such a gem in the neighborhood!

Amazing pastry! We loved this bakery. We stopped on our way and did not have high expectations. We took some pastry to go and it was amazing! We tried the traditional donut and brioche and seriously - so good! Highly recommend this bakery!

A very cute Cafe’ with Pastries, Croissants, Cakes and so much more. Very homely and nice ambience and a very kind and responsive staff. We tried Iced Mocha, Latte’, Coffee Cake and more… The coffee cake was really nice, very subtle level of sweetness and flavor. The Mocha was very good as well. If You’re walking about in the area, this is a GREAT place to stop by, grab some coffee and cake, chill.. Definitely recommend a good place to wind down and enjoy something sweet…

Their hospitality is unmatched! We placed an order for coffee and dessert and there was some confusion regarding the coffee order and they didn’t ring us up for it. And when we asked, they just gave it to us on the house despite us offering to pay! After paying for our order, we decided to buy their famous donut.. which they also gave on the house. This kind of service and hospitality are rare and create a strong sense of customer loyalty. Their taste is as hyped but 20/10 marks for warmth and hospitality

Paid $5.17 for a cappuccino that’s not listed on menu. Small cup but nice flavor & aroma. Pastry selection is a bit limited. Looked like most customers came for the coffee. Cozy spot but unfortunately no restroom for an indoor cafe. There is also outdoor seating which appeared quite comfortable under shaded umbrellas. Service was quick with no wait… AVERAGE I say

An absolute gem! We were waiting for our dinner reservation around that area and wanted to grab a quick coffee! The mocha almond croissant (I couldn’t resist it though we had a nice dinner planned for in an hour) was delicious! And the coffee was great too. The staff were super friendly and attentive to everyone walking in. Can’t wait to go back to try their brioche donut!

Ladybird Bakery, a beloved 32-year-old establishment in Brooklyn, is known for its classic and traditional sweet treats. The compact neighborhood shop offers a variety of house-made cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and other delectable specialties. Customers can enjoy customized cakes with expertly frosted designs and a range of flavors. Notably, the bakery's signature Brooklyn Black Out cake features layers of dark chocolate cake with chocolate pudding and decadent frosting.
FANTASTIC LOCAL DESSERT BAKERY 🧁 Great to see Lady Bird back up and running in a new location. The cakes are very good and come in different sizes. Known for their “Brooklyn Blackout” cake for the chocolate lovers and it also comes as a cup cake that’s more manageable in size. My favorite is the pecan fudge bar… it’s a must try. Overall, all the dessert items are very good! Highly Recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ladybird Bakery is hands down my favorite bakery in NYC. I’ve been enjoying their sweet treats since I was a child and their Brooklyn blackout cake is truly out of this world. Perfectly sweet, rich, & moist with the most beautiful decorative details. I was surprised with one this Valentine’s Day and like always, it was absolutely divine. You simply have to try the chocolate cake or any other delicious desserts. You won’t be disappointed.

Ladybird made the cake for our wedding in spring 2025. We highly recommend them! They were great to work with, and the cake was beautiful and delicious. Also, the tasting is a blast — you get to try every combination of their cakes, frostings, and fillings. :)
Raymond B — Google review
We just had Ladybird cakes at our wedding and can't recommend them enough! They tasted phenomenal and were VERY reasonably priced when compared to other quotes we got. Ladybird was actually running a sale for the offseason too. It seemed to me that they charge fairly for the ingredients and labor, but don't gouge just because the word “wedding” is involved. We had a great time at the bakery tasting ingredients and building our custom cake. Once we chose our flavors, Melanie did a beautiful job matching the buttercream flowers to our actual flowers. Our secondary cake, a Brooklyn Blackout cake, was one of the best chocolate cakes we've ever had and the chocolate lovers were very happy! The delivery went off without a hitch, and we will be back for some Brooklyn Blackout cake on our anniversary.

Our wedding picnic cakes were delicious! We ordered well in advance and had no problem picking them up. The flower decorations were pretty! Thanks so much!

My top pick for birthday cakes in the neighborhood! Delicious, beautifully decorated cakes from a clean, friendly neighborhood spot. A consistent favorite for years—always a perfect experience

Their cakes are stunning! I was blown away when I saw mine. They exceeded my expectations of what a cake could be. I love how they listened to my wishes and brought them to life. Just little regret that I feel like the cake is a little dry and not so fresh, like it was made a day before.

After dropping our son off at college, my husband, other son, and myself went to Brooklyn specifically for this bakery and the Brooklyn Blackout cake. We were NOT disappointed! I also got my mom a small carrot cake. She loved it!! Whenever we're back in NYC, I'll definitely be going here again. The young lady behind the counter was really nice too.

Bourke Street Bakery is a renowned Sydney-based bakery that has made its way to New York City, offering a wide array of sweet and savory treats, artisanal breads, sandwiches, and specialty coffee. The NYC outpost has become a go-to spot for Australians craving a taste of home with offerings like peanut butter and jelly croissants, sausage rolls, shakshuka dishes, and rustic sourdough breads.
Excellent pastries, great service. You can tell the ingredients used in the production are top quality, I've found items in this shop that I haven't found in other places before in the US, but that resemble Spanish or Mediterranean cuisine.

They were able to make us 90 or so loves of sourdough bread as a wedding favor!!! They came out adorable and delivered them packaged and fresh like this the morning of!! They even found tag ideas I ended up using!! Im a customer for life, thank you!!!
Sarah C — Google review
Very disappointing- came in for a sourdough baguette which was very good- that’s why I gave 4 stars for food. But the weakest most bitter drip coffee I’ve had in years - I tried to make it drinkable with more milk and sugar but it was beyond repair and after two sips I threw it out. Also ordered an almond croissant but received a chocolate one. I didn’t go back because the staff were not friendly and disinterested in engaging with me. Otherwise atmosphere was ok - no one else was in the shop despite it being a nice Sunday morning and other local places were very busy.

I don’t like their pastries. I ordered a croissant last time but it was stale. The interior is very dark and the service is not very welcoming. However, their hot cross buns are fantastic. This Aussie chain bakery is known for rolling out hot cross buns every year. Their chocolate flavor is a standout this year. It is piped with chocolate icing and filled with chocolate chips. It really impresses me from all the other regular flavored hot cross buns. FYI this is also the most expensive hot cross bun I’ve gotten. $5.17 after tax.

Came here based on a recommendation and I wasn’t disappointed. I had the almond croissant and carrot cake with Chai tea and everything was delicious! The cake was moist and the croissant was flaky. The space was also clean and welcoming. To top it all off I received excellent service from Sofia who was at the til. Would definitely come back!

Great Australian and contemporary food from this nice bakery/cafe with a good amount of seating, with tons of great savory items like sausage rolls, savory pies and croissants and sandwiches to choose from. For sweets they have cookies, cake slices and muffins. They also have a nice collection of breads, hot and cold drinks. We got the Shakshuka danish (great), pork and fennel sausage (great), chickpea eggplant feta and mint roll (decent) and the chocolate sour cherry cookie (good). They also have frozen down versions of their customer favorites to taken home. They did not have the Australian iced coffee though.

Nestled in the heart of Bed-Stuy, Saraghina Bakery is a beloved local gem that has mastered the art of baking. Known for its delightful chocolate chip cookies, they strike a perfect balance between chewy and crispy, with crunchy edges and a soft center. Beyond cookies, this charming spot offers an array of gourmet treats including almond croissants that are simply divine—filled to perfection and leaving you wanting more.
I recently tried the strawberry croissant at Saraghina Bakery and it was amazing! Flaky, buttery, with a delicious raspberry filling – total perfection. The place itself is super cute, and the food is always fresh. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to!

Nice bakery to have in the neighborhood! Small spot with bread, coffee, and Italian products. Friendly and helpful staff. 🍪✨✨Chocolate chip cookie was probably my favorite thing from them! It was a thin style with soft and chewy texture and slightly crunchy edge. Taste was well balanced and outstanding. Chocolate croissant was classic, nothing go wrong but not a lot of filling. Sesame long bread was neat as well. Like a sesame-flavored baguette!
Julia H — Google review
This place has great baked goods and some fancy international foodstuffs like pasta, cheese, cured meats and jams. I got a white bread loaf and a jumbo chocolate chip cookie and they were both great. Another day I’ll have to come back and try their croissants, which looked nice and laminated. It’s next to but not connected to the pizzeria - there’s no seating.
Emily K — Google review
Chocolate chip cookie was pretty good. Thin, slight crisp with chew. I don’t love the layout of the bakery though; a narrow area to see what’s in the pastry counter/ check out. I actually left bc it felt too crowded with only like 5 people there and came back when it died down a bit.
Aja B — Google review
I have been coming here for more than a year and I can tell you things are changing, and not in a good way. They used to be my favorite store, and I’ve been trying continue supporting them, but the changes are making it hard. Saraghina is on the pricier side, and it used to be worth it, but I can’t say the same anymore. The Fellini sandwich-they changed their bread. (It’s not worth a quarter of the price tag they put on it anymore. Used to be my go to). The croissants-they started cutting them different, almost as if to put less content between. The customers notice when you change things. We’ve expressed this but you guys keep switching things up. I hope this review will help you realize. Don’t lose more customers. Please take your customers criticism, we’d hate to see you go.

When we searched for the best Almond Croissant in the neighborhood, Saraghina Bakery popped up on the result list. The decor is adorable and narrow-spaced with no indoor seating, only 4 people maximum are allowed at one time. Their options of pastry were limited and we had their Almond Croissant, Scone & a bag of Granola. Everything was amazingly delicious, especially the Almond Croissant . The filling was creamy and the texture was crispy & layered. Their Italian restaurant Saraghina is located right next door and it also looks really popular with great reviews and we would like to give it a try in the near future.

The best focaccia in bed stuy! Would be 5 stars if they didn’t allow dogs inside. Who wants to wait in line for baked goods with a slobbering dog right behind you?
Gelimar H — Google review
This place was a happy surprise in Brooklyn. We were there in December, but I cannot wait to return. I ordered smoked salmon and eggs Benedict. The entire meal, with a garnish of arugula was mouth watering delicious to the last drop. The pancakes my husband ate were fluffy and filling but not too dense. The price was a little steep but I have no regrets and since it was the holidays made it a present to myself. Not five stars due to the wait, but there were tons of people and few servers. I recommend a better system for takeout and seated dining to correct that. Not mad at all.

Martha's Country Bakery is a delightful bakeshop nestled in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, where the inviting atmosphere perfectly complements its array of old-fashioned cakes and pastries. This charming spot is renowned for its homemade treats, including some of the finest cheesecake you'll find in New York. The bakery also boasts an impressive beverage selection that ranges from classic lattes and teas to unique offerings like Peanut Butter Hot Chocolate served either hot or frozen, as well as a refreshing Cappuccino Milkshake.
I’ve walked by this place a few times but never went in. Decided to walk in with my son and WOW we were instantly hit by the smell of all the baked goods and the pleasant atmosphere of the place. Everyone who worked there was so nice and welcoming. Everything behind the glass looked so good. We tried 3 different slices of cake plus some gelato. At first I thought it was pricey but after eating, it was all worth the price. This will be a “go to” every time I’m in Williamsburg. Loved it. Give it a try and you will too.

Great dessert place with a lot of options. If you can’t find a dessert you like here, then it doesn’t exist. They have tons to choose from. We were a party of 4 people and went later in the evening. It wasn’t that crowded and we were seated immediately. The service was a little slow. The table wasn’t clean and needed to be wiped down. Once we received our desserts, it was as if they completely forgot about us. I had to flag down a server so we could pay and leave. The desserts were great! We tried the tres leche cake, Black Forest cake, brookie, and apple pie cheesecake. My favorite was the brookie. It was served warm with whipped cream. I would definitely go here again but hope the service is better.

So it’s my birthday weekend and I was so excited to go to Martha’s because everyone keeps ranting by and raving about it. I have had some of their goodies but never been there in person. My friends took me as a surprise. Walked up to esthetically pleasing place ready to take pics and enjoy the ambiance. It has a plethora of amazing treats and sweets it’s all about pleasure here. The room at the time was empty. My little group of theee asked if we can be seated in a booth like seating or towards the back. We got a strong “no” and the two young lady’s facial expressions changed. Now it’s a gentrified Brooklyn here so it’s a mixture of races etc in the area but my friends and family are all looking at each other. The two hosts (I guess) are now talking in Spanish. My family speaks Spanish so I asked in “Spanish 🙏🏾 “. They said it’s reserved for larger groups. We respectfully accepted it and say we’re placed in the front. Couldn’t help but notice all the black people were seated upfront and even a bigger group than ours so we said to ourselves shouldn’t they be seated further they’re all squished together in the corner. We couldn’t help but take notice that white couples sat where we requested.. hmmpph interesting huh. Not a surprise for this neighborhood. Most play it off but this was interesting. Anyway. My server Grace did a great job at being hospitable so I stayed. The pastries and desserts were amazing. You gotta try their Red Velvet Hot Chocolate. So much to love about Martha’s. They even have a DJ for late night “turn ups”. The music was good, the decor and everything will make your taste buds dance along with the playlist. Wish things were a little different but Grace made up for stuff. She even got me a cupcake for my birthday that I thoroughly enjoyed. Despite everything I would recommend this spot. Breakfast, brunch or even late night. FYI - Vegan options also available and it’s wheelchair accessible.

Wow — this place is a real bakery! I visited early in the morning as one of the first customers, and I could see freshly made breads being delivered out to other locations — it gave me a lot of trust in their quality. Every pastry looked amazing and was filled generously for the price. I ordered the blueberry pie, and it was packed with real blueberries — not overly sweet, just perfectly balanced. You can tell this bakery takes pride in doing things honestly and with care. So many delicious pastries to choose from — I highly recommend this place!

10/10 LOVE THIS PLACE. Shoutout to the manager Nick! He was incredibly friendly and super helpful when I asked for recommendations. With so many options to choose from on the menu, it can be overwhelming but I appreciated how knowledgable he was. This family friendly bakery in the neighborhood is a truly a gem. It literally makes my day just thinking about the aroma of freshly baked goods and coffee from Martha’s. The staff is very meticulous when it comes to detail because everything is perfectly labeled. Must get the Berry Napoleon, Raspberry Cheesecake, Chocolate Chunk Cookie, Nutella Cookie, & their cupcakes. It is very spacious with tons of seating inside - this is definitely a plus. It's become my go-to spot for when I’m craving a treat or need a delicious cake for an upcoming celebration! Will be back soon to try out more desserts.

I first went to Martha’s Country Bakery on a solo trip in July 2023 and had to bring my family back on our holiday in September 2025. The selection of cakes, pastries, and pies is fantastic. We had the chocolate layer cake and carrot cake, with a Mexican hot chocolate, and Pineapple, Mango and Banana smoothie — all were amazing!! The service was excellent; a massive thank you to our server Ela, who was very friendly, welcoming, and helpful! I look forward to going back to Matha’s Country Bakery the next time I am in New York. Would definitely recommend it to anyone who is visiting NY.

5 Stars: A Williamsburg Staple for Fresh Bites and Warm Vibes I've been hooked on Martha's Country Bakery in Williamsburg (shoutout to the Bedford Ave spot) for years—it's my go-to for that perfect mix of nostalgia and quality. Every visit delivers: the donuts are always fresh, fluffy, and downright addictive (dunking one in their smooth, robust coffee is pure bliss). The staff? Super friendly and genuine, making you feel like a regular even on a quick stop. From custom cakes for special occasions to everyday treats like pies and pastries, everything tastes homemade without the fuss. Prices are fair for Brooklyn, and the cozy atmosphere keeps me coming back. If you're in the neighborhood, skip the chains—Martha's nails that authentic bakery charm every time. Highly recommend!

Tons of choices! I choose flan but it’s texture is more like cheesecake, too dense. It’s not bad but it’s not flan for me. Mango gelato is good, the size of the eclair is big. The chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream is served warmed.

Milk Bar, created by Chef Christina Tosi, is a dessert empire with eight locations across Manhattan and Brooklyn. The flagship store offers an expanded menu of inventive desserts and customizable sweets. The branch on Vanderbilt Avenue provides a sunny outdoor seating area and serves a special cereal milk latte alongside classic coffee options. This laptop-friendly cafe encourages a one-hour limit during busy times and has a no-laptop policy on weekends.
Great atmosphere inside, the neon lights and mirrors around really add to it. The sample of the milk bar pie was very welcoming (and tasty). The cornflake cookie is also fantastic, will come again

Delicious desserts for all hours of the day. I had the Milk Bar pie and Sundae combo deal. They were both good. The vanilla soft serve ice cream is a cereal milk tasting flavor which my husband did not like. He thought it was good but his flavor of choice. The pie was very rich maybe too rich for me. Eating it together was delicious though. Prices were good. Selection was good. Seating available was good. It’s a nice place to sit and satisfy your sweet tooth for sure.

Had this place recommended by a friend and it did not disappoint! We ordered the lemon meringue pie and cereal milk soft serve, and it definitely satisfied our sweet tooth. The girl taking our order was also super sweet. Would definitely visit again if I’m ever in NYC again!
Rizka B — Google review
This place has definitely gone way downhill. The employees don’t care, the music is too loud and this is what a “Pie and Soft Serve” looks like. Everyone understands that when someone orders pie and ice cream, the ice cream should be on top of the pie. And also the pie should be warm. Here instead you get this and the pie is refrigerated solid out of a box. Very dissatisfying
Prasenjit M — Google review
Honestly? Average. Just average. I came here expecting a fun, creative dessert stop something sweet to wrap up the night, but everything just kind of fell flat. The snacks looked cute, sure, but the flavors were uninspired. Our drinks were lukewarm, the sugar hit too strong, and it all felt like the staff was more eager to close up than serve something memorable. Quick notes for fellow dessert hunters: Service: Polite and minimal, just enough to take the order and move things along. Food: Ok. It's ok. Atmosphere: Clean enough, but the energy was as tired as the drinks. Nothing terrible, but nothing special either. Out of everywhere I visited in NYC, this was the most forgettable stop, which is saying something in a city full of flavor.

Win Son Bakery is a laid-back neighborhood spot that offers inventive twists on Taiwanese classics for brunch and dinner. The bakery, an offshoot of the original Win Son restaurant, is known for its acclaimed millet mochi donut created by pastry chef Danielle Spencer.
Incredible Taiwanese-American Bakery. Mochi donut is to die for, unlike any other place. The scallion pancake wrapped sandwiches are also killer. My go to is the Juicai package and add bacon and of course, the BEC is yum as well. Lately I tried the shrimp milk bun (available after 3:30) and that was amazing as well. Top tier spot! It is definitely fusion so I wouldn’t go in with expectations for it to be authentic Taiwanese food because that’s just not what it is. Lines are long on the weekends but it does move fast. It’s in my neighborhood so I like to go weekday afternoons after work — if you’re in the area on a weekday it’s perfect and there should be plenty of spots to sit outside.

EDIT: the Win Son Bakery team responded pretty quickly when I tagged them on socials about the issue I initially posted below. They were actually very kind and rather quick about it (responded same day). They moved just as fast during the refund process (issued it within the same hour I filed my info on a claim). Of course ideally the mix up wouldn’t happen in the first place but their customer service was pretty great after the fact. - I’ve gone to this place a few times and the food is always good and service is usually great but today I had a small off experience. I had gotten up to grab a to go box for the rest of my food. I had maybe been gone literally like 40 seconds and when I came back someone had thrown all the food out. I suppose I could have asked the girls next to me to watch it just in case but I felt like there was a decent amount of food left and one item I wasn’t even really touched (I took one bite of it) and it was thrown out. I think what bothered me the most though was the server who threw it out realized when I was standing there with a new to go box kind of confused and bummed and there wasn’t really an acknowledgement that it was a mistake. He just kind of said “oh I’ll take that,” grabbed my box, and threw that out too…. weird encounter and wasn’t really pleasant. I’m bummed because I paid full price for a food item I didn’t get to really eat and wanted to save for later and it ended up in the garbage.

I stopped by Win Son for brunch. The line was long, but it moved pretty quickly. I ordered the fried chicken box and it was really good! Well-seasoned, crispy and juicy. I would recommend this place located in the hip neighborhood of Bushwick on Graham Ave. Outdoor seating is also available.

Win Son Bakery is a true gem in Brooklyn!! everything I've tried has been so good, but I have to give a special shoutout to their BEC scallion pancakes. The pork is insanely flavorful and tender, and the scallion pancake sandwich with bacon, egg, and cheese? A total game-changer. Crispy, savory, satisfying... I could eat it every day. Their menu is creative with bold flavors. Everything is made with care and intention you can really taste it. If you're in Brooklyn and craving something unique and delicious, Win Son Bakery is a must. Trust me go hungry!

this was a bit disappointing, especially with how many good things I've heard about it. I didn't dislike the food at all, it wasn't bad, but I also didn't love it either. the thing is: none of the places I went to in New York have been BAD, but this is one of the places that I won't be going back to. even if I was super craving Taiwanese food, I don't think this place properly satisfies that itch. maybe for people who've never had Taiwanese food before?

This review is about sustainability! ☺️ By 2050, there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. Which is why I so appreciate, that in this waterfront city, you choose to offer your customers the dignity of real silverware, ceramic mugs, and glasses for water. I love to support businesses that are mindful of our impact on the environment, locally and globally. So thank you for setting an example of how a café can operate sustainably. I hope more local spots follow suit! And of course, delicious food and a perfect cappuccino.

So fun and tasty I came here twice during my short 3 day stay in Brooklyn. Playful Chinese-fusion bakery treats. Get the pancake wraps. Other overlooked items are the soymilk (with dough sticks to dip in) and asian salads Trrated myself with a red rice donut too.

A modern and innovative bakery with strong potential to keep growing. Order: Scallion pancake cheese and egg, mochi donut, fan taun, nian ago sesame fig, jasmine lavender milk tea, latte = $53~ The scallion pancake and mochi donut I've seen meet viral status on social media, for the amount of hype it's received Id say it's more the innovation behind it that's appealing than the taste. Nothing extraordinarily groundbreaking but it's an interesting refreshing twist to try. Same goes to the humble fan taun. What my friend and I mutually agreed is absolutely delicious is the seasonal nian gao fig pastry. Nian gao batter, layered with creamy custard, fig jam and topped with smooth mascoropone cream and figs - WOW. You don't have to be a sweet tooth to enjoy this, you just need to love yourself enough to treat yourself with this. Kudos to the pastry chef. The drinks itself was fine but I felt the food does the storytelling here. I'd revisit to give the menu another shot out of curiosity. This place is for those who want to broaden their taste palette.

Librae Bakery is a spacious spot that offers a variety of custom-made baked goods such as pastries and cookies, along with both indoor and outdoor seating. This Middle Eastern-inspired bakery is known for its delectable treats, particularly the extensive selection of croissants. Visitors rave about the divine taste of the hot pistachio rose croissant and recommend trying to get them fresh out of the oven.
Best of the best pistachio croissant!!!! I’ve tried pistachio croissants from many places, but I’ve never seen one so generously filled with pistachio paste and topped with this much pistachio on the outside. The flavor and presentation are absolutely perfect. At $8.50, it’s worth every penny. The blueberry corn scone was also delicious, and both the sea salt mocha and strawberry lemonade were absolutely excellent. I’d gladly live near this bakery just to enjoy it more often. =============================== On my second visit, I had the tomato danish, Jerusalem bagel, cherry cookie, and pistachio croissant again — and they were just as amazing as before!

Another bakery that comes highly recommended when asking around, so it was quickly added to my list. It’s a cute little shop with indoor seating, outlets to charge your phone, AND WATER! This was one of the few places I visited that had free water cups for paying customers. That seems like a taboo option these days in ny. The case had ample options from both laminated to non laminated options. I went with a pistachio croissant and the sticky toffee date oat cookie situation. The croissant was maybe 3.5 stars. Nothing super remarkable but a decent croissant nonetheless. For me the showing the star was that damn cookie. The perfect texture, chewy, well seasoned, good balance. I mean my god was it a home run. I saved it and ate it when I arrived back at the airport and regret doing so because k couldn’t get another one. I was absolutely go back here to first and foremost get more sticky little cookies but also to try some of the other offerings. Highly recommend a stop in if you have time. And when I arrived while still early there was no line!!

Ambiance (5/5): There are some seats outdoors and indoors. Laptops are not allowed inside, which makes sense to allow occupation by dining patrons! It was cool being able to see into the kitchen where the baking was taking place. There’s the public park with benches across the restaurant where you can eat outside. Service (5/5): It’s a well oiled machine to get you in and out. I asked for a recommendation and the person who helped me provided some good feedback. Halva Croissant (4/5) $8.50: Available only on the weekends! It is indeed a hefty one with some chocolate and halva melted on the inside. The outside of the top part was almost too crunchy but it was good on the inside. Rich, oily, but I very much enjoyed it in two sittings, or perhaps one if shared with someone. Loomi Babka (1/5): While beautifully folded to create a lovely bun, there was almost no taste to it. The bread was soft but I only took 2 bite before I chucked the rest and wasted $7.

Stopped by Librae to grab a pistachio rose croissant and a flat white. The croissant was massive - super flaky with beautiful layers and a decadent pistachio cream filling that carried a subtle rose note in each bite. It’s rich & indulgent and definitely big enough to share. The flat white was smooth and a perfect afternoon pick me up.

This place has some of the best pastries in town, with lot of options to choose from. I’ve been here a couple of times and tried the pistachio rose croissant, espresso chocolate croissant, and focaccia, each one consistently flavorful and perfectly balanced, not overly sweet. They bake everything fresh, and the quality shines through. There’s usually a long line, so expect a 20–30 minute wait during peak hours, but it’s absolutely worth it. The staff are friendly and welcoming, though seating is limited. It’s already become a favorite spot for pastries, and I can’t wait to try more from the menu. Highly recommend!
Mounica B — Google review
The pastries are tasty but be forewarned they are very heavy and can be greasy. This is the only criticism I would level against this place. As for the croissant the flakiness is superb but there is too much butter which makes the actual dough greasy. You need a black coffee or tea to pair this with. The tahini chocolate chip cookie on the other hand is 5/5!!
Jonathan L — Google review
Worth the usual wait. Fortunately we got there early and didn’t wait long. Busy but friendly and helpful. Had the egg pastry- it was a delight. The baked parm that comes on the sandwich should be sold separately, it’s that good. Don’t limit yourself to just a pastry- the Chocolate Chip cookie was soo good.

La Cabra, located in the East Village of New York, is a Danish-owned coffee spot known for its serious approach to coffee. Despite its Spanish name meaning 'The Goat,' it has strong ties to Denmark's second city, Aarhus. The cafe supplies many Michelin-starred eateries in Denmark with their excellent brews. La Cabra's minimalist Scandinavian-style interiors attract crowds looking for Nordic-influenced coffees, pastries, loaves, and desserts.
An impressive blend of technology, minimalism, and clean, refined lines. The coffee is served with a sense of ceremony, creating a truly unique atmosphere. The service is exceptionally polite and attentive. The quality of the coffee is outstanding. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area—or even as a destination in itself. It’s well worth going out of your way for.

This coffee spot is next to my new job and this was the first place they took me on my first day of work Immediately she raved about the cardamom bun and let me tell you it did not disappoint. I think about that bun all the time it was delicious. I have gone back multiple times for lattes and coffee and I just really like the shop. Everything has been good and there’s a bunch of pastries I wanna try. However, note that there may be a line sometimes and line can get pretty long in the morning I will Keep Coming back

This is truly one of the finest cafés in New York City. Originally from Denmark, they now have multiple locations across the city, and I’ve visited one — this one happens to be a bit more spacious. When I stopped by on a weekday afternoon, the place was buzzing with energy. There was a steady line at the counter, but the atmosphere felt cozy and lively. I ordered my usual iced cardamom latte, which I highly recommend if you love the aroma of cardamom. The sweetness is perfectly balanced, the coffee smooth, and the milk-to-espresso ratio spot-on. That subtle hint of cardamom really elevates the flavor — it’s one of my absolute favorites. I also picked up a ham and cheese croissant. The barista didn’t warm it up, and I didn’t ask either — but even served cold, it tasted delicious. Flaky, buttery, and satisfying enough to devour right away. I can only imagine it would be even better warm. Overall, great coffee, good food, and an inviting atmosphere. Definitely one of my go-to café spots in NYC — I’ll absolutely be back.
Debisree R — Google review
La Cabra feels like Copenhagen and New York had a perfect little love child. The space is all clean lines, pale wood, natural light — curated with that quiet kind of intention. The cardamom bun is an essential ritual: delicate layers, warm spice, a touch of sweetness that lingers. The sourdough feels almost too sculptural to eat, but then you do, and it’s pure comfort — the kind that makes you forget time and place. Coffee here is precise and elegant, sharp enough to wake you but smooth enough to make you stay. La Cabra is less about a caffeine fix and more about a mood — curated, grounding, and quietly inspiring. The kind of café that makes you want to slow down, order another round, and sketch out big ideas in the margins of your day.

My friend recommended this café to me, and I tried their cardamom buns — honestly, the taste was beyond amazing! The cappuccino was delicious and well-made, and the atmosphere of the café was just perfect. Highly recommended!

Tried the Pain Suisse pastry which had an excellent crisp on the outside and balanced vanilla / chocolate flavor but did leave me wanting more of that filling especially for the price. Got an Ice Matcha Latte with Oatmilk too which was not sweet at all but I really enjoyed it! Super high quality because I don’t usually enjoy unsweetened matchas.
Patrick Z — Google review
A wide variety of great coffees, incredible service, and delicious baked goods. If you haven’t yet tried high-quality filtered coffee, now is the time to give yourself the chance. The only thing the place could use is a bit more space — otherwise, it’s perfect!
Diego T — Google review
A must-visit for coffee enjoyers! Love the serene and instantly calming atmosphere as soon as you step inside, really well designed, minimalist and warm decor without feeling cold. The cardamom bun is to DIE for. Super soft and delicate dough, with complex, multi-layered flavours of spices and a crisp sugary outer layer. Absolutely perfect. Would actually rate the cardamom bun as more of a standout than the coffee itself. The flat white with oat milk was very good, but not super memorable either. But definitely worth stopping by! Lines can get long, so recommend coming in the morning if you want to get a seat.

La Bicyclette Bakery is a charming artisanal bakery located in Williamsburg, offering a delightful variety of breads and viennoiserie. The bakery's French influence is evident in its perfect breads and pastries, which are available from 8am to 1pm Tuesday through Sunday. Despite the long lines on Saturdays, patrons eagerly wait for their delectable offerings.
It was so delicious that I ate it all without even thinking about taking a picture of the bread. It's really delicious. No need to say anything. You really have to try it. The pastry was delicious, the pie was delicious, and the baguette was delicious. It was a very cold day, and I waited about 15 minutes to buy bread, but it was worth the time.

Stopped in as it was mentioned many times as a bakery to visit when in the area, so I did. I arrived right before they opened so they had a full case of pastries. The space is small like most nyc businesses but the staff were friendly. While it’s hard to follow this with somewhere like radio bakery I tried to be open minded. I was upset to see they are on the trend of a case full of laminated pastries. We get it. If you can make 4 laminated pastries we believe you can make 10. So unfortunately it makes the selection feel small. I went with the pear almond tarte which was decent. It was probably average over all. Nothing remarkable but certainly not bad enough to say “I can’t even finish this”. Over all I think it’s an average bakery from what I experienced and while I’d stopping if in the area I would inconvenience myself to go here. With that said if you’re in the area drop by and pick something up

I enjoyed the Baguettes! They made it just like how I remembered them from when I took a trip to Paris. The croissants were good too but the baguette and fougasse were my favorites!

The best bakery in NYC and it’s not close. It’s cramped and small inside, but it’s a great part of New York to grab food to go and walk around. Or bring a baguette and some cheese home! The coffee is ok, but the baked goods and patisserie are what I’m here for. I wish the hours were longer so I could come a little more often, but this is a must-hit.

Best baguette ever. Also they use imported from France flour which makes all sorts of much better. And they sell excellent French butter. Almond croissants is the best in the area also. And plain croissant. Haven’t tried other things, always eat the same. But so far I’d say must try place

ALF Bakery is a must-visit spot known for its European-style pastries and bread. The cinnamon bun is a standout item, with its moist, soft, and doughy texture topped with crunchy sugar. The classic croissant is perfect for making sandwiches. While the lemon brioche didn't stand out due to its mild lemon flavor and slightly crunchy texture, the sourdough comes highly recommended.
Mushroom danish was unreal. Earthy, herby, cheesy bliss on the crispiest, flakiest pastry. It almost felt like eating paper-thin potato chips glued together.

Stale old 8$ pastries. Really disappointed. Strawberry thing was burnt and stale. Mushroom Danish was old. Avoid. Had really wanted to try this place after walking to a bunch of times but it was trash.

The croissant was indeed the best I had in New York yet, as a french person. But the coffee was inacceptable, big bubbles and burning horror. Also dissapointed by the lemon brioche thing, it goes back to the overly sugary american pastries.

If you could eat hidden gems! The food here is delicious and indulgent without weighing you down. I had a ham and cheese baguette, which was perfect - and I mean perfect. I also had the mushroom tart which was throw-your-glasses-against-the-wall tasty. And you have to taste the laminated baguette, the heavenly love child of a baguette and a croissant, always a winner. And the coffee js great too!

hmm... not sure where to start. we enjoyed the croissants but were not so impressed with the laminated baguette. i bit too salty for our taste especially if you want to eat with a good butter like Bordier. we were really looking forward to trying the picolo loaf but when we got home we noticed it was quite burned and of course it tasted burnt. my suggestion would be whoever is baking to either watch the oven time/temp or simply throw that loaf away. it's not sellable and gives the wrong impression especially since it was our first time trying ALF. overall, i do like what mr. amadou ly is doing so we'll continue supporting him and i am impressed that at least he is using PLUGRA butter which many boulangeries in NYC do not use if they even use butter at all. so mad props for that.

Heard good things about this spot and the bakery lived up to the hype! I tried the laminated baguette (10/10), ham and cheese pastry (8/10), and a cardamon bun (7/10). The laminated baguette is one of the most interesting and delicious baked goods I’ve tried in awhile. Perfectly crispy on the outside, doughy on the inside, and an indulgent yet light taste. The ham and cheese and cardamon bun were similar to the caliber of La Cabra (one of my other favorite bakeries). Will definitely return to sample more of their menu!

It was such a pleasure to meet Chef Umbar once again. The pastries at Mah Ze Dahr Bakery are luscious and I have been a devoted fan for many years. I have several favorites and ate the famous brioche donut with the pastry cream filling and then the vanilla choux paired with a hot cappuccino made by Matt, the barista. I took home a savory scone that I had at dinner with cheese. Team MZD of Jubidell and Julian were friendly and kind. This is the first bakery one sees when coming up on the escalator and one should stop for sweet and savory deliciousness. I am happy that MZD is open as I cried when the other two locations closed. Had the opportunity to stop in for a quick breakfast. I got the Taylor ham, egg, cheese, and potato sandwich. I was able to find a seat while I waited for my food. The ambiance is very clean, well lit, and welcoming. After just a couple minutes my sandwich arrived and was very fresh. The bread stood out and all the other ingredients of the sandwich were great! It tasted really good and somehow wasn't that messy. Definitely much better than any food truck will serve up for breakfast. Looking forward to stopping by again in the future.

We became a regular since this new location was open. And to be fair, the restaurant/ cafe is well maintained and we had enjoyed some of the options in their menu. However, I do believe the staff can be better trained to understand what means customer service and owning their own mistakes - what happened today is not a “big deal” but it somehow has been a big turnoff for us to come back. When ordering in front of the counter, my husband got a regular milk cappuccino with food and I got oat milk cappuccino with pastry. The food came with one coffee in a few minutes and the second coffee NEVER came even when we finished the food. My husband asked the coffee and the guy who put the order for us seemed to be already aware he Only put one coffee for us. Fine - we waited more and the barista made us the oat milk cappuccino (and they realized the order they put in was also oat milk so my husband didn’t get a regular milk). I was finally able to sip my oat milk cappuccino, and the guy who missed the order showed up to us, asked to charge us for his missing order in the first place and also included the additional oat milk charge, he left us the credit card reader immediately and we didn’t even get a chance to argue. My husband didn’t want to bother arguing with him and just paid it - left a weird taste for the whole Saturday morning experience for a supposedly relaxing dining. To the owner- see the photo (not showing the face of the guy but want to demonstrate this is real feedback), staff needs to own their own mistake, missing order plus wrong us and still charged (even overcharged) the customers. Even Starbucks gave for free if they made a mistake. You are not going to do well with all the competing businesses in this environment.

This spot is quickly becoming a neighborhood favorite. I’ve ordered both dine-in and pickup several times, and the quality is excellent. The chicken is tender, juicy, and flavorful, with the thigh meat falling right off the bone. The potatoes are cooked perfectly with a crisp exterior, soft interior, and plenty of cheese. Orders are always prepared quickly, and the location is clean and convenient. The rewards program is also a great perk that makes coming back even better. I have ordered this dish six times, and this was by far the best yet. Highly recommend!

Decor and atmosphere is nice. Good customer service. However, the food is mediocre. The tomato soup is very oily and taste not balanced( very sour), the Taylor ham, potato and cheese brioche was plain and you could only taste salt. BTW. They don’t have plain croissant, only everything croissant with cream cheese. With the price I would expected more. Would not recommend.

My go to breakfast is the avo toast with smoked salmon + egg. It’s the bomb. Also the space is huge and very inviting. DP is my go-to cafe to relax or do some work on my macbook. Also love their hibiscus tea for the afternoons when it’s a bit too late for caffeine.

Thus far, I’ve only had things off the “provisions” part of the menu, but it’s been good. Interestingly, the chicken salad is made with scallions, lime, and jalapeños. The larger menu sounds good, though I haven’t tried it yet. There are vegetarian and gluten free options including GF bread for sandwiches. There was a bit of a wait to order. The ceilings here are high with little to dampen the sound so it feels pretty loud when it’s reasonably crowded. Theres a very nice coffee bar set-up. The staff were polite and kept the place very clean.

Veniero's Pasticceria & Caffe is a bustling Italian bakery that has been in operation since 1894. Located in New York City, this establishment is known for its delectable cannoli and coffee, all enjoyed beneath a stunning stained-glass ceiling. In addition to these signature offerings, the bakery also boasts an extensive selection of pastries including tarts, cream puffs, cakes, and more.
Veniero’s is hands-down one of the best dessert spots in NYC. Every visit feels like stepping into a sweet little piece of history. Their Fruit Tart is an absolute showstopper. The buttery crust is perfectly crisp, the custard is silky smooth, and the fresh fruit on top is always vibrant and bursting with flavor. It’s as beautiful as it is delicious. But the real star for me was the Fruit Cheesecake. Creamy, rich, and just the right amount of sweetness, it strikes the perfect balance. The fresh fruit topping adds a refreshing, tangy contrast to the dense, luscious cheesecake base. It’s one of those desserts you dream about days later. Service is friendly, and the old-school charm of the place makes it feel warm and welcoming. This place is an East Village gem. We were looking for some dessert for after dinner and this place was closed by. We had some apple mince pie, a slice of tart, a puff pastry with fresh cream and strawberries and affogato. I think some of the dessert like mince pie should be warm up for it to taste good. The Affogato was a bit small and the tart was extremely sweet with no other flavours to cut it. Overall, big place with many seats and a great varieties of dessert to choose from!

TL;DR: Classic East Village bakery with tons of variety priced by weight. Great to grab a mixed box after dinner. Consistent quality and fair prices. I go every trip. Veniero’s is my go to pastry stop in NYC. You can mix and match minis instead of committing to one big cannoli. I like the fruit tarts, the chocolate chip dome, and the small layered cakes. Everything has been fresh and not overly sweet. The vibe is old school New York with long glass cases and a steady crowd. It gets busy at night, but the line moves. Prices feel fair for the quality. Pro tip: build a small box so you can taste a few different things. Easy walk-over stop after drinks or dinner, and you can usually eat outside if it is not packed. Staple spot.

I remember going to this place in 2018 on St Marks Pl. Now that I'm back in NY, I'm glad there's still an option open. It's literally right in front of the L subway exit. There are few places to sit, and since we went on a weekday afternoon, it was empty. They have many flavors of donuts, at least 18, and hot and cold drinks. We ate the donuts there and asked for more to bring. The donuts are very light, the dough is very good. The toppings are very tasty, the best donut I've ever had, exactly as I remember from 7 years ago. And the best part is that everything is vegan.

I truly love the donuts here — they’re incredible! Soft, fresh, and the fact that they’re vegan makes them even better. But I have to say, the owner’s husband completely ruins the vibe. His energy is nasty, racist, and just plain ugly. When he came out, the whole atmosphere shifted — even the owner seemed uncomfortable, and that said a lot. To make things worse, he ignored me and gave another customer their order before mine. It felt intentional and disrespectful. He’s honestly dragging her business down. She seems like such a sweet person, but he’s the reason I wouldn’t rush back. Sir, please stay in the back where you belong until you learn how to treat people with kindness and basic respect. The donuts? AMAZING. The husband? Absolutely not.

Amazing vegan donuts with a lot of variety. They typically have special weekend flavors too. Their coffee is great too! The interior offers a comfortable and lowkey vibe. Limited seating, though (a window bar/barstools and few outdoor seats). They are open until sold out, which usually occurs ~4:00 PM, give or take an hour. I definitely recommend visiting Dun-Well! Items pictured: strawberry shortcake cheesecake donut (weekend special flavor) and horchata latte. 100% vegan menu!

No notes. Fantastic vibes inside with animal friendly signs and decor up. The donuts are pillowy and soft with the perfect texture. Would fool a non vegan they are incredible.

This place makes me crave donuts. I could not live closer cause I would be there everyday. They always have new amazing flavors and the classics are always there. All vegan!
Metallicfern — Google review
Dun-Well Doughnuts is a Brooklyn staple for a reason. The doughnuts are soft, fresh, and packed with flavor—always creative without being over the top. It’s the kind of spot where you can grab a classic glazed or try something fun and seasonal, and either way, you leave happy. The shop itself has a cool, low-key vibe, and the staff is always welcoming. Whether you’re vegan or not, these doughnuts stand on their own—delicious, satisfying, and made with care. Definitely one of my go-to treats in the city.

Don't sleep on Vegan donuts!! These things are addicting! #1 fav is the cinnamon sugar, then their maple and glazed. They also make specialty donuts, tried their cereal one very yummy.

Jacques Torres Chocolate in Dumbo is a European-style shop known for its delectable chocolates, caramels, cookies, and other sweet treats. The store is famous for its chocolate chip cookies that are generously packed with high-quality dark chocolate, offering a thin and crispy texture. Visitors can even purchase the chocolate chip cookie mix or dark chocolate baking disks to recreate these indulgent treats at home.
Delicious cookie in town. I ordered the jacques famous chocolate chip cookies for $4.09. The cookies was quite hard, but u could ask the waitresses to warm it up for you. I loved it because it's not too sweet. They also sold hot chocolate, chocolate bars, and ice cream. Plenty tables for u to dine in, and they also had restroom.

Excellent neighborhood chocolatier. The staff is very nice and superb helpful. And the chocolate is delicious. Also, I recommend the Wicked Hot Chocolate with s tinge of spice. It's perfect for a cold day.
Michael P — Google review
I have visited the Grand Central and other locations before as I have loved these cookies since visiting Mr. Chocolate's second NYC location on Hudson St. Dumbo was the first location he opened. This is a large and well set up store with excellent staff and so many products available. We of course took away multiple cookies and some dark chocolate. I appreciate that it is explained where the chocolate is sourced from. The cookies were amazing and are definitely a favorite of mine!
Denise A — Google review
Unlike his original chocolate shop in Dumbo over 20 years ago, there isn’t a chocolate factory on site. However, the chocolate is just as delicious as I remember it! So many offerings, truffles, gelato and their delicious big chewy cookies! Not many cold drink options, just water and hand crafted coffees and milkshakes. You can even buy the mixes to take home or hot chocolate mix. We had a nice break after walking the Brooklyn flea on a Saturday afternoon.
Tango T — Google review
If you’re looking for a delicious chocolate chip cookie, soft, tender crumb, rich chocolatey layers throughout- then you’ve found the right place! First time I ever tried one of these cookies was at the Upper West Side location. Unfortunately that shop has since closed. So we made our way to Dumbo just so I could eat a cookie! It was worth it! Ended up buying 5 and getting one free- super excited to share with the family when we get home! If you come out this way- be sure to enjoy the views of the bridges!
Luv2 T — Google review
I only ordered a chocolate chip cookie, but it was very good. Not overly sweet, very soft but light crispness at the edges. Chocolate was very rich. AC was broken when we visited, but the staff still made everything work and served us quickly. The truffle I sampled from my friend’s box was very rich and smooth. Recommended.
Danny L — Google review
Extremely overrated and seems like a total tourist trap… nothing about this experience felt authentic in the slightest. I have been to many bakeries in France and this place would struggle against my local cafe. I was very very excited to try their cookies and hot chocolate but was extremely disappointed in the quality. The cookie both looked and tasted like it was baked last week and I wouldn’t normally be this harsh but for a place that’s specialty is chocolate I was not impressed plus.. its not exactly cheap. There is not much to complain about with the service.. they were kind and efficient. Even so I would recommend going some where else.
Anonymous — Google review
Was a larger than expected size shop. It appears to be 2 shop combined. One side is mostly ice cream. The other is fudge, cookies and coffee. 4$ for most cookies. Fudge depends on how much you buy. Some of the prices seems a little high but that could just be me. Staff was good. It was definitely halloween themed when I entered noticed it right away.

Orwashers Bakery is a long-standing artisanal bakery that has been a go-to spot for over 105 years. Their traditional baking methods and high-quality ingredients result in delicious treats like croissants, black-and-white cookies, jelly donuts, cherry-cheese strudels, babkas, and turnovers. This Upper East Side institution offers friendly service and a variety of gourmet foods including Italian rainbow cookies and Jewish classics like rugelach and hamantaschen.
THE local bakery! Shop local and the best bakery in the UES. Known for the best bread and black and white cookies... and maybe filled donuts! There can be a wait on the weekends, and things quickly get sold out, so put an order in or come early. No seating. Enjoy!

Orwashers Bakery Layout/atmosphere *Artisanal bakery; display case to the left Food/drink *New York Breakfast (house made everything bagel schmeared with dill cream cheese, lox, onion, and lemon zest) - Good; fresh; tasted the lemon; bagel not over seasoned *Chocolate Chip Cookie [large] (Valhrona dark and milk chocolate chips) - Good; crisp exterior, soft interior
Daniel P — Google review
Can’t say that I agree with Infatuation’s chocolate cookie rating #5, as my cookie felt like it was way too bitter for it to be good. Good crisp and not too dense. Cookie is by weight—two rainbow cookies came out to $3.xx. I enjoyed the rainbow cookies way more than the chocolate chip. Staff was super friendly!
Steph W — Google review
Anything short of 5 star review could only be written by a competitor trying to talk trash. Impossible because it’s awesome. It’s amazing. Incredible. Stupendous. Best black and white cookie. Best in New York? No, best of all times. That’s it. It’s simple. My kids got the donuts and loved them endlessly.
Michael C — Google review
Had a bagel here today. Everything bagel with cream cheese. The bagel appeared hand-rolled and baked well, with a nice crispy outer crust and soft interior. The bagel was a bit more chewy than I'd like but not I'd prefer that to being too bready. The bagel was fairly small but dense which is good. Seasoned well. I enjoyed the bagel but there are many great options in NYC. Could have more vegan options
Ray P — Google review
Such a slept on choc chip cookie. Beats maman + levain easily if you like slight crunchy outside and chewy inner. The pistachio croissant was pretty good too

This bakery is pricey, but the goods are excellent. However, their pickup service is oddly managed — I order online for pickup, but there’s never anyone at the pickup counter, so I still have to wait in the regular line. What’s the point? They also seem to have frequent staff turnover, which isn’t a good sign

Fantastic local bakery! They have everything — pastries, bagels, bialys, cakes, breads, babkas, you name it. I loved my morning bun. It’s a flakey, gooey cinnamon pastry I’ll definitely be getting again. You can’t miss here! Highly recommend.

Bakery
Levain Bakery, located in the Upper West Side of New York City, is a beloved neighborhood spot known for its freshly baked goods. The bakery offers a variety of rustic breads and is particularly famous for its six-ounce chocolate chip walnut cookie. Baked on-site daily using high-quality natural ingredients, the cookies are described as "absolute units" and are larger than those found at other bakeries.
Quite large, upper price range, gourmet cookies that are served warm. They’re more of a special occasion treat, or a gift for others, than a regular occurrence. When you order online, you still need to wait in line, so there’s really not much time savings.

Absolutely amazing cookies! This bakery offers an incredible variety of flavors, each one more tempting than the last. You can really taste the artisanal quality — every bite feels handcrafted with care and passion. The texture, flavor, and freshness are just perfect. These aren’t your average cookies — they’re truly one of a kind. If you love cookies (or even if you don’t… yet), you need to try this place. It's a cookie lover’s paradise!

Really good!! So decadent and satisfying. I heard the chocolate chip walnut cookie is the thing to get and it did not disappoint.
Vivian N — Google review
I was honnetly a bit let down by Levains. I just felt the cookies were not balanced in flavor and not a texture I enjoy. The magnolia was doughy, not goey, and didnt have much of a savory note and the oatmeal was the same but even drier and didnt have much oatmeal in it.
Josh — Google review
I got one chocolate chip walnut cookie and one s’mores cookie. Both were really good, and seemed like they were baked recently. I also got a cold brew coffee which was very acidic. This made it hard to drink, I ended up throwing it out.
Cassandra M — Google review
This is a clean, spacious and welcoming bakery, which boasts terrific products. Despite its elegance, it simultaneously offers a down-to-earth feel. My friend and I dropped by there a couple of months ago, in the AM hours...it was about 9 AM on a Sunday. And I'm sorry that I didn't get the name of the young lady at the front who served us, as she was very sweet and professional. Yet with that said, the main takeaway here is not actually their ambiance, vibes or even lovely staff members. The main takeaway, Cookie Monster, is their SWEETS!! LOL They make and sell absolutely wonderful, and I mean *wonderful* cookies. : ) Sure, they are pricey, but treats like this should not come cheap. Because, from my limited lived experience (yet speaking as someone with a true "sweet tooth"), they're the best in town. These decadent cookies melt in your mouth. And, from what I can taste, no amount of butter is spared in making them. They are 100% goodness, with goodness being an understatement! So, the next time you walk by a Levain Bakery and you need a gift -- for yourself or someone else! -- don't hesitate to buy the best for the best. A tin of their cookies makes for both an aesthetically pleasing and tummy~satisfying gift. Enjoy! In Cookie Heaven, Kat

Co-owned by chef Petra Paredez, Petee's specializes in a variety of pies made from locally sourced ingredients, offering everything from classic favorites like nesselrode and mince to unique Norwegian-inspired treats.
Chocolate Tart stole the show! Omg I ate half of it in one serving and if I hadn’t paced myself I would have finished it all in one go! The apple pie was equally as delicious. The strawberry rhubarb was a family favorite. Definitely worth visiting!
Vidhi P — Google review
As a NYC foodie, I’ve tasted my way through countless bakeries—and Petee’s Pies is in a league of its own. The crust is crusty with that perfect New York bite: golden, buttery, and just the right amount of flake. The tart cherry is bold and bright, the cheesecake is perfectly creamy, and the peach?- Pure summer in a slice. Every pie tastes like it was made with love and the best ingredient. This is a true hidden gem worth crossing boroughs for. I’ll be back!
Max T — Google review
I do like my wild blueberry crumble a lot and I intend to buy another slice tomorrow. The crust was very crunchy and the fillings were not too sweet and just the right amount versus the flour. The base was nicely constructed and did not feel too heavy.
Jeremy C — Google review
This pie spot in Delancey is their perfect spot for some cozy pie. When you walk-in, it smells absolutely heavenly. The inside of the shop has limited seating and is mostly made for grab-and-go. They also have a variety of pies on display, but you can get slices in little boxes to enjoy! I got their seasonal blueberry and apple pies, and they were both delicious. I thought the apple pie was a bit too sweet for me, but I thoroughly enjoyed the blueberry one. Not normally the biggest fan of pies, but these were good!

We recently ordered a whole NY sour cherry pie for the July Fourth. It was our dream cherry pie! Not too sweet--the perfect balance of tartness and sweetness. Topped with vanilla ice cream it was sublime! The crust was flakey and stayed delicious next day. Delivery was on time, they communicated promptly, and the pie arrived in the perfect shape. Will order again for sure!!!

Ordered two slices via DoorDash for a lil treat to my hotel. They arrived quickly and well packaged. The Maine blueberry slice was sooo good but really messy. I loved the crust! The chocolate chess was good as well, but not as good as others I’ve had in the past. The blueberry slice was surprisingly my fave

Bakery
Fabrique Bakery, a Swedish bakery chain with an NYC outpost, has gained popularity for its delectable cardamom and cinnamon buns. Originating in Stockholm, Sweden, the bakery expanded to London before arriving in New York City last summer. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service make it a great spot for breakfast or a quick bite. While the massive cinnamon buns are popular, the signature loaves and pastries are also highly recommended for takeaway.
We came specifically for our favorite Scandinavian cardamom bun — and it did not disappoint. Soft, fragrant, perfectly spiced, and just sweet enough, it’s the kind of pastry that makes you stop and savor every bite. There’s something magical about the combination of freshly ground cardamom, buttery layers, and that golden crust. Can’t wait to come back for another.
Kristina Z — Google review
Fabrique’s New York cardamom bun hits the spot when I need a sticky-bun fix, even if it’s not life-changing. Mine wasn’t warm or super fragrant, and the crumb leans dense rather than light and airy—but the cardamom flavor lands nicely, and the caramel glaze keeps it satisfying without veering into sugar overload. Fresh off a European pastry tour, I’d still give this a solid four stars. It won’t dethrone the buns I devoured abroad, yet for NYC it’s a thoughtful, well-made treat. Grab it with a coffee and you’ll walk away happy, just don’t expect a cloud-soft roll straight from the oven.
Maryam — Google review
I couldn’t believe my eyes nor contain my excitement when I learned the renowned Swedish bakery had a shop stateside. Americans seem to be afraid of cardamom and never use enough to actually taste the spice. These cardamom buns are to die for. I ordered a couple to take home to Virginia because it’s so hard to find such good buns anywhere else. They have more than just cardamom buns; their bread is also great artisanal quality as well. If you’re looking for Scandinavian quality baked goods (they’re better than the French and the Germans) then this is your spot! I was even able to practice Swedish with the workers behind the counter which added to the experience. It made me miss Stockholm. A must stop every time I am in Chelsea.
Britt — Google review
Stopped in while walking in Chelsea. You can find baked goods every 100 feet in NYC. At Fabrique’s they bake their treats on site. The barista said the cardamom bun was the crowd favorite, I tried the passion fruit chia pudding as well, which is served with their toasted granola. Everything was great.
Dan L — Google review
We ordered the Cardamom bun and the Brown Sugar bun. The cardamom was soft, airy, and flavour. Unfortunately, the brown sugar was stale, dry and hard to bite into. When I complained to the employees, they acknowledged their batch from today wasn’t great and gave me a second cardamom bun for free! LTDR; order the cardamom bun, ask for the freshness of the baked good and be wary of the other items!
Errah F — Google review
Bravo. Lovely modern French patisserie in Meatpacking. Prices are right, sun is bright. Clean restroom , exposed bakery manufacturing in the back high ceilings and clever seating layout. Europe by the Westside Highway.
Ticker — Google review
I’m not sure if they’re training a new baker, but there’s a viable difference in the quality of the cardamom buns that are being made.
Myra — Google review
I've been on somewhat of a Swedish baked goods kick for the holiday season, so I checked out Fabrique to get a saffron bun, which I found to be really high quality. The raspberry cake was also really tasty. The coffee was a great price considering the quality and the size of the cup. My only critique was of the cafe itself, which felt a bit small and like it could utilize the space a bit more efficiently. In any case, I recommend a visit, especially for the baked goods.

Bakery
Xin Fa Bakery, located in Sunset Park, is renowned for serving the best egg tarts in the five boroughs. Despite the long lines, the bakery operates efficiently and ensures that customers are served promptly. The Portuguese egg tarts are a standout offering with their piping hot, crisp golden brown crust and silky egg custard at a good value.
COME FOR THE EGG TARTS! I’ve grown up eating all kinds of egg tarts and these are by far one of the top contenders for best egg tarts. They have a nice light crust but with a dense thick soft custard-like egg filling. For whatever reason they taste a bit bland coming directly out of the oven as you burn your mouth trying to eat it fresh, but once it cools down a little you can taste all the flavours so much better. So be patient and let it cool. I came in the winter time (Feb) around 1pm and they just had a large batch coming out of the oven. I tried coming here in the summer prior and was told there was a 45 min wait just for egg tarts. It gets very busy here and people buy the egg tarts in BOXES! Dude in-front of me ordered 4 boxes as soon as they came out. I’m just glad they make huge batches at a time.
T. T — Google review
Come for the egg tarts. Customers were leaving with boxes, and they didn’t even make it to the display case because they were selling so fast. It's chaotic in there with staff weaving through the lines with boxes and trays of baked goods. I think this may have been the best egg tart I have had outside of Hong Kong/Macau. And very, very reasonably priced. I got a single egg tart and a pineapple bun for just over $3.
Lisa W — Google review
I’ve ate a lot of egg tarts in my life but this is the best egg tart I’ve ever had (not exaggerating). Come early if you want a box of them or any, they sell out fast. Lines for this place is always long so prepare to wait for 15-20+ minutes.
Kristin P — Google review
$1.75 egg tarts that are sooooo delicious. Best eaten warm and on the spot. I got some to go and the warmth of the egg tart in the to go bag made it a bit wet and mushy but that’s my error. So many other tasty looking pastries, but you MUST get the egg tart. 10/10

$2 Portuguese egg tarts - they only sell these but they are just like regular egg tarts! Really great value. I would come back again. The custard is eggy and there is a great amount of it in the tart. The pastry crust is thin. They make it pretty often so I got mine warm!!! This was so yummy and better than Flushing egg tarts for price, value, and taste!!

Their website was so easy to use- you type in some key words to search for reference pics (or you can upload your own), add on any customization, confirm a few other details, pay your deposit or pay in full and you’re done! I admit, I was a bit nervous as to whether or not they would get what I wanted for my mom’s cake but I’m so glad I took the chance to trust them and the reviews people left, because I was so happy with the cake! Patisserie Tomoko, located in a quiet part of Williamsburg near McCarren Park, is a Japanese-French bakery known for its innovative and elevated pastries. Chef Tomoko Kato, with training in both the US and Japan, specializes in creating unique flavor combinations using high-quality ingredients. The bakery offers an array of beautifully crafted desserts perfect for impressing friends and family who appreciate fine European pastry.
Last night I dreamed about the yuzu cheesecake, the cream puff and sparkling yuzu drink. Yesterday, I finally ate desserts at Patisserie Tomoko with Raj who had told me that he wanted to take me there. Raj has been here countless times and likes it a lot. We sat at the counter which was comfortable. Bring a weekday, there were few customers. We ordered cappuccinos, two cream puffs, a gâteau au chocolat and a yuzu cheesecake. All the pastries were delicious. Then Raj told me that I simply had to have the refreshing yuzu drink. Freshly made, it was ambrosial. I could have had two. We ate slowly and finished every bite. Chef Tomoko and Chef Hiro were hard at work prepping. Billie Holiday was singing among other jazz singers. Chef Hiro enjoys jazz. The weekends here get busy so it was good that we came on a weekday. I am planning to return for more of the yuzu cheesecake and drink. The interior had lots of foliage and some pictures.

It was on my list to check out this place for a while. I was excited to try the pastry, but there was no seating so we decided to have prix fixe dessert ($29.50) at the bar. Next time we will just get the ready- made pastry from the counter and take it to the park to eat. Chestnut tart looked amazing. For three course dessert, we chose Mont Blanc. Since its tasting course, portions were small. If you compare with ready-made pastry you see in the display, it’s about 1/4 size. Each course was creatively plated and nice. Cappuccino was good.
Amy K — Google review
The dessert selection was great, tastes amazing, and presentation even better. Minor note on utensils and plating (hard to eat certain items due to plate instead of bowl), and perhaps exchanging stools or seating that's more comfortable for eating dessert instead of drinks.
David A — Google review
Small dessert store with many Japanese and French desserts. The menu overall is simple. They make things good but with some space to improve. Slightly on the pricy side. 💛Yuzu dacquoise was a pretty straightforward flavor. The texture was good but nothing impressive. I had mille crepe cake the other day, although it tasted good but it was kinda dry. Cold brew tea was cold tea.

Stellar, friendly service and beautiful location filled with sunshine and green plants. Banana chocolate tart was dense and rich but a bit one-note from what I was expecting. I would go back and try some of their other desserts.
Spurthi K — Google review
Very delicious. The staff are super welcoming. I like their matcha mille crepe cake more than Lady M. Basque cheesecake and pumpkin pie are fantastic too.
Paul — Google review
There are some interesting desserts here. They also have a Pre-fixe dessert menu. The Cream Puff is 😋 and the Pumpkin pie is also very good. There desserts are Japanese with French techniques. It's not cheap but the quality is worth the price
Vivianne B — Google review
$16 for three mochi, so you’ll be paying just a little over $5 for one. The earl grey mochi was great for its smoother and creamier filling, but you can skip out on the green tea and the red bean…a bit boring for the price. Their textures are also a bit more grainy compared to the earl grey one due to the fiber content of the ingredients.

Marie Blachère Bakery & Café is a French bakery chain with an NYC outpost that offers a casual setting to enjoy pastries and baked goods. Originating from Provence in 2004, the bakery takes pride in using French flour and Normandy butter to bring the best of France to their products. The focus is on accessibility and affordability, with staples like baguettes priced at $2.20 each and meringue tarts available for impressing friends at dinner parties.
Great takeoit spot to grab some French baked goods. The savoury lox and avocado croissant was excellent. Also enjoyed the pain au chocolat.

I work close to this bakery and I decide to pop in and buy some pastries. The store offers a lot of promotions and the prices are affordable. I got two croissants and two donuts. I found the cronut to be dry and flavorless. The chocolate donut was a bit dry but the chocolate portion made it taste a lot better. I got the chocolate and chocolate almond croissant. The chocolate was okay but, the chocolate almond croissant was delicious. It is definitely my favorite out of the four treats I purchased. I would stop by again to get the chocolate almond croissant.

Really wanted to like this locally owned place but unfortunately the heralded french almond croissants were super burnt. They intentionally served it this way so I don’t think it was an accident. Tasted like charcoal. Not really my cup of tea. $10 for two. You can get better croissants elsewhere in this neighborhood.

Big fan, originally i go to the Long Island location but was in the city and needed my fix. My go to items is their danishes. Although at this location i feel like they are better, more filled than hollow. Their croissants are absolutely delicious. Their baguette are soft and fresh. Coffee always on point. It always hits the spot. Nice to know both locations carry the same expectations. Now to visit their Miami location!

Such a charming little French bakery. The staff is super nice and the service is quick. The croissants are to die for and the coffee is great. One of the best things about this spot is the indoor dining area. It’s big! Very easy to find a little nook and get some work done. They have some outdoor seating as well if it’s a nice day. Super busy corner in the city so you get some great people watching.
Taylor S — Google review
A small bite of France in NYC. We came across the bakery looking for a place to take a break, walking around the village. Good coffee and hot chocolate, and fantastic bakes goods. We tried the Beignets, and I had a chocolate Madeleine. Both were among the best we've had. Dumb luck had us stop in to the only one of this loved French bakery chain in Manhattan. 600 in France, but just 3 in the US. Well worth a side trip if you're in the city.

This place checks all the boxes that should make this a great mainstay, a go-to on this side of town - great tasty selection, always fresh, clean dining area (yes, they do have a spacious indoor seating and several tables for outdoor enjoyment), delivery, ongoing promo of “buy 3 get 1 free of the same pastry,” and this place even participate in the TooGoodToGo program at certain times of the day, and they open early, too. You can have your drinks with their many pastry and bread selection. They also actually have prepared food, which is a nice variety. There is a ramp for accessibility, and in the warmer temperatures, there are a few tables outside to sit on, which is great! But sadly I have to knock off stars because one of their staff has consistently been rude and short😩with the patrons. The others have been quick and nice so far, but when you are in a rush and just there to get your morning fix, you cant keep waiting for the other associate to get your order. I have never seen this guy smile at any of the customers. What’s eating you, Grumpy😟🤔? I would recommend you drop by here, but fair warning😢
Hope A — Google review
Excellent. Affordable, tasty. Teas are around 2,95, prepared food from 4, pastries from 1.50. For drink, 25% off applies when you bring your own cup. And one of the places where one charge their phone in peace. Also have wifi and a restroom. (One wouldn't believe how hard this is to find when you're a blogger or the like, and your phone runs dry a few times a day.. ).

Bakery
Martha's Country Bakery is a cozy bakeshop that offers a variety of old-fashioned cakes, pastries, gelato, and espresso drinks. The classic American treats like red velvet layer cakes, sour cream apple pie, and vanilla cupcakes are best enjoyed with their traditional coffee and espresso beverages. Customers appreciate the delicious desserts and friendly staff. The bakery is known for its perfectly balanced cakes that are not overly sweet, allowing customers to enjoy multiple slices without feeling overwhelmed by sugar.
Bulk ordered some slices to have on hand for whenever i had a sweet tooth. They’re all delicious. Cheesecake, Carrot cake and Berry Nepoleon were my faves.

My coworker brings us these cakes for every occasion and they are always so delicious. Moist, not overpoweringly sweet, and the icing is so good. Definitely recommend giving them a try!
Nagie A — Google review
The desserts were tasty and the portions were very big. My favourite was their mango and raspberry gelato, so good! The staff were super kind and helpful as well. Definitely recommend and would go back!
Valentin D — Google review
I recently stopped into Martha’s Country Bakery in Astoria and tried a few desserts. I had the Vegan Carrot Cake ($9.75 per slice), the Nutty Apple Cheesecake ($7.95), and the Pecan Cheesecake Bar ($7.95). The cheesecakes were absolutely incredible—rich, creamy, and easily some of the best I’ve ever had. That said, the price point felt a little steep for a single slice/bar, especially compared to other bakeries in the area. The Vegan Carrot Cake, on the other hand, was a bit of a letdown. The cake itself was decent, but the icing lacked that classic cream cheese flavor that really makes carrot cake shine. It felt like it was missing the signature element that makes the dessert so memorable. Overall, it’s a nice spot if you’re looking for some excellent cheesecake and don’t mind paying premium prices. For me, it landed in the middle—great quality in some areas, but not consistent enough across the board to rate higher

Not recommended. Berry Napoleon - the puff layer was so soft and soggy. Didn’t expect to have a soggy napoleon and was so disappointed. I was looking for a crunchy one. Ekmek - the kataifi at the bottom was very soggy. Expected to have a crunchy kataifi layer but was disappointed as well. Pecan Cheesecake - pecan was not crunchy. Taste of cheesecake was okay.

Stopped by Martha’s Country Bakery and got a slice of Triple Chocolate cake. The flavor was rich, with a nice balance of sweetness and cocoa bitterness. The cake was fresh and had a soft texture. I was pleased with it.
Ralph Y — Google review
I recently visited this bakery and was really impressed. The customer service was excellent—staff were friendly, attentive, and made me feel welcome from the moment I walked in. I decided to try the Napoleon cake, and it was absolutely delicious. The pastry layers were perfectly crisp, the cream was rich and smooth, and the balance of sweetness was just right. Overall, a wonderful experience that I’d happily recommend to anyone with a sweet tooth
