Pity I can’t give negative stars. Go elsewhere, no, seriously don’t spend your hard earned money on this business. Arrogant, insulting and condescending. Any other place, even the crappiest you can imagine, will be better and more friendly than this one. Because of his very unwelcoming attitude, the boss/owner/<whatever, and who cares> did us in fact a big favour and saved our day, ensuring we spent our time and money in a far better and much more enjoyable place.

We was there on the launch. After some time of waiting, waiter told to us that for this day, they have only oysters. But they have no notice anywhere. It means I didn't eat there anything.

Friendly staff, quick service, good quality muscles. Rather small but for the start of the season acceptable. For sure the best muscles of Bouillon.

Great restaurant. I went for the pork stew dish and it was amazing. Others ordered the mussels and they looked great. Staff were polite and helpful. We had a very big group and only complaint was the service to bring out things like bread was a little slow but the food tasted amazing.

The mussels were very tasty (I got the Nantua) and friendly service. The fries could be better. Merci!

I’d not never recommend this place welcomes only Belgium people.. they made us to go all the way to ATM to be able to pay with cash only, (writes at the back too small you won’t see before it’s a problem) waited 2 families with kids 45min. Unacceptable behavior, no sorry, no empathy!

Avoid this restaurant! Some of food is tasteless, particularly the cheese (4/5 cheeses were exceptionally similar) and the deserts were watery. When you explain your feelings to the staff, the staff are very rude, become angry and shout loudly in front of a full restaurant. Very strange behaviour. I know it is No.2 in Bouillion, however there are far superior places to eat in the area without doubt.

Came here on a family trip after a day in the area for dinner. The staff was very friendly, provided warm service. The food was very delicious, varied and creative yet based on traditional cuisine. Waiting time was rather long but otherwise a perfect memorable experience.

The food was truly excellent, so good in fact, that we came back on our second evening in Bouillon. Service was great too. And the price is not high for the quality of the meal. We will gladly come back if we pass by Bouillon again in the future.

The food was VERY average, especially considering the price. We were the only people in the restaurant. We got served a fish with a hair in it - the waiter just looked at us and did nothing. Another fish was undercooked, which after being sent back was still questionable quality. We did not get any rebate, or even an apology - when the bill arrived, we mentioned the two issues again and asked if anything could be done. The answer was a plain ‘Nothing’. It’s not in line with my expectation when paying €105 for 1 set menu, 1 main course and 3 glasses of champagne (€10 per glass)

What a disappointment. The food was not the same as on the menu. My Risotto was simply missing. The other plate had two (2!) hairs on the potatoes. The service was really bad and not worth the money. Don't Go there.

It's expensive but the food and service was good. The aperitife was the best part for us. Menu was in French only but we could figure out roughly what to expect and the waiter assisted. Lovely location and restaurant.

We have come back to Bouillone after 3 years and a must be during our visit was Il Padrine restaurant. We were not disappointed even a tiny bit! The food was as tasty as we've remembered it. But the portions seemed even larger than before! There was no problem in sharing the dessert by the 2 of us, which was life saving after such a feaste :) Service was efficient and the atmosphere was very friendly :) was it was very pleasant day, we've been seated outside. Around us were some families with children and people with dogs, which was adding to the cosiness :)

Got a pizza with a raw egg… I ordered the same pizza in over 10 countries and non of them had raw egg… not even Italy… the guy that served me was really nice and I’m pretty sure he was the only one that knew any bit of english and I would suggest that he finds a different restaurant to work in as this one will bring him down After finishing my meal I ordered a bottle of water to take away but when someone bring it to me, opened, they told me I actually can’t take it away… but I will have to pay for it anyway 😐because they open the cap… anyway I get to pay for something that I did not consume and that’s a pretty nasty thing to do as a restaurant in a tourist area

Well apart from the wait insisting we sat in the hot sun and not in the shade, it was great. I had tomato soup and it was absolutely fantastic. Recommended

The food was ok, nothing special. Overpriced. Slightly better than snackbar quality. Nice staff however and a good place to take the children and family. The interiour did not resemble anything italian.

Nice restaurant in a great location with a beautiful view of the river. The pizza is some of the best I had in a long time, generous toppings, right amount of crust which was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The waitress was happy to offer some crayons to our 3 year old son to draw something.

Lovely food, nice waiter. Got cheese added when requested. A little long wait but no problem given ambiance, being next to the water, the freshness and quality of the food. Got a doggybag for the leftovers. Can't believe this restaurant isn't reviewed with a higher score.

Great food and reasonable prices right on the river. Lamb shank special was cooked well with a good cut. Apples and pine nuts in burger went REALLY well together.

My girlfriend and I have come to stay in Boullion for a week holiday. This was a beautiful unique restaurant on the river. The food was delicious. We had the ‘Lasgane allá mamá’ and the Chefs burger, plus the local beer. Thoroughly recommend.

we waited endless before we were allowed to order and than another one and a half hour before some of the food arrived, and another 15 minutes for the rest of the food. the moulles were okay, the pizza however was black at the bottem, the burger was decorated with cheese - and some of the plastic skin of the cheese. we absolutely do not recommend this sad place.

There are not many restaurants serving food in Bouillon after around 2000 every evening, so it was very nice of the restaurant to take us at 2100. Our experience was good: the lady serving us was friendly and made sure we had what we needed and the food came through from the kitchen in a reasonable period of time. The food is definitely not the best of the best but it is a far cry from some of the stories here and not bad at all overall.

I went to the restaurant with my wife and we were almost waiting more than an hour for the food and also they gave us a different dish instead of the one we asked for. We ordered salmon with salad and fries but we got salmon and over cooked veggies and honestly it's not a veggie it's only two pieces of tiny carrot, no fries and the portion is really really small. We were really disappointed. And also the people who came after us got their food, but We were still waiting more than an hour. Over all it was not a good but a bad experience. We won't go there again.

After waiting 1h10 my friends got their pizza's. Moist and soft, except for the black-burned crust. 10min later I got my steak bien quit, wich was rosé at best with a pathetic amount of fries. The citchen clearly can't keep up and can't deliver quality. The organisation is pure chaos. Just another case of an absent boss who doesn't lead, doesn't care about workload, quality or even revenue...

Chanced upon this gem of a local restaurant - beautiful and charming interior, warm and friendly service from the time we enter. The food was amazing and so fresh. I especially loved the meatballs and local trout. Pls make a reservation here as I can imagine it getting quite busy in summer! Highly recommended !

We ate in the restaurant for lunch and it was charming. The service was lovely. The ambiance was great and the food was perfect. Delicious trout and home cooked frites with a perfect little salad with raspberry vinaigrette. And excellent local beer.

The trout was extraordinary—remarkably fresh, tender, and juicy. Cooked to perfection, it allowed the natural umami flavor of the fish to truly shine.

Accueille chaleureuse, et une cuisine qui combine la tradition et l’innovation. Admittedly I was out of season but this is the sort of restaurant at which I was pleased to get a table. Delicious food, fruit and veg from their own ‘potager’ and unfussy but efficient service. Highly recommended.

We stopped to have a got drink after a day in sightseeing in Bouillon. Very friendly staff, nice decorations for Christmas, I think 8 euro for 2 hot chocolate was a bit to experience but those are their prices. It is pity that such beautiful place has to be only for take away.

All very good and dishes revisited well, very kind and helpful staff, the only flaw is the dessert, after more than 30 minutes of waiting I was expecting an excellent dessert but it was not. Mediocre dessert and chocolate bar really too hard to cut and eat.

Located next to the river and with a nice view. The pokebowl was okay and filling, but the ribs were really delicious. A bit pricey for what it was, but I guess it's the location.

I absolutely recommend this place to anyone! Food and drinks all tasted great, were reasonably priced and presentation was amazing. The atmosphere is classy, cosy and industrial. Waiters were super friendly and food and drinks were timed right. We had a very nice afternoon in Bouillon with family, but I would also recommend on an incentive or with friends. I wouldn't just say it's recommended when you're there, it's absolutely worth a detour.

Nice little spot for lunch or a snack in the centre of the town. We had a drink and a fried fish dish, which was tasty and a fairly decent portion, so no complaints there. The prices are slightly too high, in my opinion, but the place is better than its rating and deserves a fair shot.

It's okay nothing special. Looks like a tourist trap but food isn't bad. Staff are very friendly and prices are decent. We ordered crepes and apple pie and they were good. Toilet is not very clean and overall place looks like it needs a renovation.

I ve been here twice now, the service is good and surprisingly fast. Good local beer selection and nice food for the price. I don’t undertand the ratings, this is 5 star for me for the price. Don’t expect michelin star quality from a bar! Oh and the athmosphere is great, no renovation needed at all.

We sat at the outside terrace. A cafe that serves delicious crepes. Service was great.

Communication troubles resulted in a couple errors with our service. Service is usually much better. Food always correct and delicious. Cold drinks always served cold, hot drinks hot. Very good variety of everything 👌. UPDATE 6 April 2024 Rochefort Burger today was one of the best burgers I've had in Belgium (over 25 years)

Great place! Friendly people and what's the most important: The Burger 66! Perfectly baked meat, fresh and crispy salad and baked onion. Delicious fries on the side. We've paid €33 (sic!) for 2. In my honest opinion - underpriced; nevertheless if you're in the neighborhood, on the way, or just looking for some good food - take a detour and stop there, parking spot literally in front. Totally worth it.

Beautiful historic hotel right on the riverside. Very comfortable bed, lots of hot water and very clean. Team are welcoming and helpful. Would love to stay here again

Lovely place. Great location. Really good evening meal. The only issue was no a/c in the room and the fan was noisy so not a great nights sleep as it was hot.

Comfortable terrace, perfect for enjoying a beer while taking in the city views. The location is central, and the service is friendly and efficient.

Our second visit to this hotel. Old fashioned style (in a good way) staff are very friendly and welcoming, if I could award 6 stars I would. As an aside to potential customers/clients- there is a underground car park located to the side/rear of the hotel but a retractable bollard prevents access, you need an access pass from the hotel If you’re walking impaired rooms 1-7 will be a struggle for you as no lift elevator to this level . I didn’t specify this while booking and struggled with a heavy suitcase Quaint quirky and comfortable hotel with a view of the river and central to the town. Evening meal on the terrace (bar food really) was good and breakfast well cooked and buffet style. No A/C throughout the hotel but a fan was in the wardrobe and well happy with that as the temperature climbed to the very high 30’s. Would highly recommend this hotel

Great location and near to most attractions and hiking routes. Located next to the river and had beautiful view when you get out of the room. Staff were alright but not particularly friendly. The hotel didn’t feel like a four star hotel as the room was small. There was also no tea making facilities. It rained during our stay at the hotel. As the ledge was made of metal, it was extremely noisy when it rains.

Really nice hotel, friendly staff, and perfect location. We didn't have a river view room, but the view was still really nice looking onto the hills. My only complaint would be that the breakfast was incredibly expensive (17 euros). While the food was good, we had to queue for over 20 minutes to be served. I would happily stay here again, but I would skip the breakfast.

Pathetic and disrespectful service. Expensive and average food. The owner has an authority complex and is apparently also xenophobic and racist. Upon trying to sit at the terrace with a party of 5 we were rudely asked to leave because only 4 are allowed. After asking if it was possible to sit inside, we waited around 20 minutes simply for our order to be taken. We were repeatedly ignored, even when attempting to speak in French. The French people sitting next to us received a friendly and quick service, while we had to wait and were dismissed. While trying to pay, the owner quite literally did not even want to speak to us. We had to ASK the lady if we could pay, because the old man decided to walk away every time we tried to get his attention. To add to the situation, a group of black people who tried to come to the restaurant were told “there was no space” and were asked to leave. The mussels in white wine are average at most, no flavor and seasoning save for a couple of pieces of celery. The fries are definitely frozen. They also charge 8 euro for a tomato salad which is one medium tomato sliced, with italian dressing. If you’re considering to eat here, save yourself the time, money, disappointment. Don’t.

Welcome by a charismatic gentleman who knew how to deal with clients. I ordered a steak which was beautifully selected and trimmed, slightly dry but that's my fault as I requested to have it medium, it came medium well. Nicely presented. Sauce in the salad a bit too pronounced (too much vinegar). Most probably it was not made on the spot. Coffee attractively priced. Overall money well spent and to be recommended. PS No need to remove toothpicks from the table before the meal is over.

I had a really lovely dinner here, can’t stress how good and fresh the Ardennes Trout was. Everything about the dishes and the restaurant seemed authentic, local and delicious. The staff were very sweet and friendly and would give serious compliments to the chef! So if you’re looking for a local authentic place to eat with reasonable prices, Chez Betty is the place to be - also situated by the river.

Very unfriendly owner. We wanted to order a second round of drinks and the response was that it's almost dinnertime and if he serves thos round us we have to clear the table at 6 because the tables are almost all reserved already. He could have asked if we wanted to have dinner also, which we actually were planing on, but I guess hospitality is not his strong point.

WE had dinner there Saturday evening. Food was fantastic as allways. I read alot of negative posts about Chez Betty but I cant understand why. Yves is a very nice man. Get to know him first people. It's also a busy restaurant and they run it superbly.

Good meal and a character for an owner, he ran down the street and threw money at a customer that called him a thief. Well done owner! Our meal was delicious, only 4 stars as my partner's steak was a bit under cooked. Order the dauphinois (sp) potatoes, they were delicious.

Betty and Yves work very hard to give you a great and nice experience. The place is casual with a nice atmosphere. The foods are plentiful, freshly prepared and very tasteful. It is a relaxing friendly place.

We had 3 different foods. All 3 people was cery satisfied. Everything was tasty. We tried traditional Belgium beer, which was also perfect. If you will fe in Bouillon, I must recommend to visit this restaurant. Price for our menu with two beer - 53 Eur.

Loved their wide variety and vegan adaptations of the mushroom saffron risotto and vegetables risotto. Tasty and good portions with lots of fresh ingredients! The rice was well-cooked (al dente). We returned for dinner and requested for a specially made truffles with pasta and the mushroom risotto again. Everything tasted well. Service was friendly. Ambience and decor fit very well as a typical Italian tavern. Complements perfectly with the surroundings. There are many little decorations scattered in the restaurant and somehow, someone has kept the whole place very clean.

We had lunch here after a visit to the castle. The staff was mighty friendly and the food really good for the price range it is. No scrap that, the food was really good period. We paid 70euro for a lunch (two adults and an infant menu), which was really well priced. I'm stuffed and go home satisfied.

We had lunch at this place and absolutely loved it! For me, it was one of the best Frutti Di Mare pastas I have ever eaten. A lot of flavour, so many different types of sea food, pasta cooked just perfectly and a good portion size as well. Not too expensive, worth the price. My partner had the mushroom risotto and enjoyed it as well (but he was probably jealous of my pasta!). Will come back immediately when we're thereabouts again!

The food was fine, if you can stomach being verbally attacked while you eat. A man from the kitchen stormed out and insulted my friend out of nowhere. Top of all, we had to pay twice for our food because that crazy freak didn’t believe that we payed already. If that’s your idea of a good time, this is the place for you.

Good Italian food joint that sits in the Au Duc de Bouillon building. We had some great wine with our dinner! Communication was a bit rougher as no one really spoke English and we do not speak French, but everyone made it work and we had a good experience!

Really good food. Pasta with tuna and tomatoe sauce was delicious. Small minus for the service (no one brought the menu for us and and the waiters didn't speak english) although I really recommend this restaurant because of tasty food.

Booked a panorama room, which was advertised on the website as having airconditioning. Except the room didn't actually have a/c, and the room gets very hot in warm weather since the sun shines on the hotel all afternoon. Apart from that, rooms are mediocre, pretty outdated with very small pillows. But fine. Location is nice, about a 7 minute walk/climb to the center of Bouillon.

Great room, lovely service and an amazing view! We went by motorcycle and were able to park these sheltered during the night, which is a big plus. Furthermore, we enjoyed the menu and the service at the restaurant, as well as the amazing breakfast.

We had a wonderful visit. Amazing views of the castle, river, and valley from the hotel. Rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff friendly while ensuring excellent service. Lobby and seating area was quite nice with relaxed environment for drinks or to visit. The restaurant offered a varied menu which we enjoyed the four course selection. Appetizer to Dessert were all wonderfully prepared and presented. Preselected wines paired nicely. Parking was easy along the street in front where there was ample room. We recommend and should we return would certainly stay again.

Very special hotel overlooking the town of Bouillon and the medieval castle across the river. Staff were friendly and helpful with dinner suggestions and reservations. The room was spacious and spotless.

Nice service and staff with not tasty dishes. We ordered jambonneau sauce champignon and hamburger. Jambonneau was not well cooked and stayed very pink inside. Champignon sauce was good. Hamburger was not also special (no grill taste, no caramelized onion). Staff were friendly and tried to help

The food was OK but the service and cleanliness was not. After asking twice to clean the dirty table where we sat which had old cigarette butts on it they still did not clean it and just put paper over it instead of cleaning it. Ordered mussels but did not even get a serviette to clean our hands with. Tried to order a dessert but nobody took the order so then we gave up, paid and left.

Positive : Fast kitchen, affordable prices and quality was fine. Negative : Not strictly respecting covid guidelines (Plastic menus, distance between tables, table mat unchanged between clients) Waitress was unwelcoming.

We tried to get some dinner at 19:15 on a Tuesday. Kitchen was closed and we only could get a drink. The day before we wanted something to drink on the terrace however the waitress passed by us twice without asking so we walked away. Note: restaurant should be open till 24:00.

Service was great first, then fell off a little. The food was not good which is the main reason for my rating. Decent choice of beer, good location with outside tables, cozy inside.

The coffee was a true pleasure, because it helped forget the very mediocre food. Good service though and nice ambiance, perhaps stick to the fries and local beer.

They have a small lunchroom upstairs with a menu card. Ordered a cappuccino, croissant and pain au chocolate. Croissant wasn't fresh sadly. Pain au chocolate was alright but chocolate not smolten. Cappuccino was very average. Price was affordable.

Nice croissants and coffee, but in case you want to eat wam breakfast it could be not satisfactory at all (panini was really average). But in case you want to drink a fast coffee with cake, that is a good place!

Nicest host I've ever encountered, absolutely great man. I got the frog legs and oysters with fries. The food was... Interesting. I can't fault them as it was my first time trying it and it was a little weird for me. I also got the house soup which was really good, even if my bread was forgotten. Overall the host really made our experience here great.

Undercooked fries, tasting sweet (probably the wrong kind of potato used). The tartar sauce was way too sweet without any hint of onions. The viandelle was sub-par but acceptable. I do not recommend going there.

The worst choice you will make while visiting Bouillon. This fast-food restaurant offers a very poor quality junk food. The owner can be very rude. They don't accept cards, only cash, and they won't give you a receipt, not even an analysis of the bill. I had to pay 96 euros without knowing how was calculated.

One of those places you forget in a week. Very mediocare. We got recommendatiom to visit this place but wouldn't come back. The food in general was ok, but in my opinion overpriced. Flavour combination were meh ("goat pannacotta" tasted like generic cream cheese you get from supermarket, but put in a jar) portioms were small (paid 6 eur for 20g of brie cheese with a few skład leaves)

Out of three restaurants we dined in in Bouillon this one was the best. My husband had an amazing steak, ideally done with delicious sauce. I had a good burger, not superb, but compliments to the medium rare patty, far not everywhere they manage to keep it nice and juicy. And especial prize to the kids menu, besides coming with a bunch of extras (sweets and toys) it was such a delicious pasta that I regretted not having it as an adult version on the menu. The service was somewhat slow, but fair to say it was a busy evening.

We had the 3 course menu for €30 which was great, price-quality wise especially. We had the gambas, salmon tagliatelle and tiramisu and the white house wine which were all tasty.

La Cabane offers a magnificent view across the Semois valley south of Rochehaut. We enjoyed a delicious 3-course meal. Very pleasant service! Well worth a visit! It gets very busy, so good to get there early.

Amazing and authentic vibe of Belgium restaurant! I was really surprised that staff was using English language. It’s mostly full of local people so it’s must see when being in this area.

This was by far our favorite dinner during our 2-week trip in Belgium and that is saying a lot as we ate at excellent restaurants during our trip, including 2 different Michelin restaurants. Gladys (the owner) made us feel right at home once we walked into her restaurant, explains the different dishes (she has quite a few to choose from) and wow, the meals, many based on her grandmother’s recipes, are just exquisite and flavorful. On top of that, you can tell that Gladys truly has a passion for excellent cooking and wanting her guests to feel taken care of. This is a must visit restaurant if you are in the area.
