Came here with family for some cake and coffee and it’s really nice to see the old photos showing the history of the store up on the walls. The decorations and design of the interior is very full and cosy, quite lived in and tells of a long history. The flat white was nice, the coffee was flavourful and the cakes were unique and a treat to try. The atmosphere was just okay but the staff were friendly and personable which was a nice experience too.

I stumbled upon this place while taking a walk in St Kilda - I then remembered it was flagged by the Lonely Planet, as one of the best spots for coffee in the hood. Super cool vibe and atmosphere. Great coffee and cakes, including two vegan options. Only con, there’s no toilette.. Otherwise, highly recommended - full of locals, nice music in the background.

The cakes are to die for and coffee tasted good too. However as some other review also pointed out, we did not quite appreciate the attitude of the staff members towards customers. This isn’t against us but we overheard staff bitching about some other customers who decided not to buy their cake and they were rolling their eyes after the customers left and making comments which were borderline racism.

Great coffee and cakes. Probably due to the high publicity , the cakes are mostly pricey. The environment is quite unique inside the cafe. Pleasant and friendly service.

This was a big disappointment. I saw the huge amount of cakes in the window and assumed (wrongly) that they would be delicious and fresh. It appears to be a tourist trap (along with all the other cake shops on Acland St but they'll get their own reviews once I've finished this one). The cakes were old, stale and bore little similarity to the traditional names. The owner and staff were pleasant but unfortunately that alone wasn't enough to cover for the poor tasting cakes. I wish I had read the Google reviews first but you live you learn.

Omg delicious .. visiting the area from Perth. Stopped in for a coffee and I had to try the Monarchs famous kooglhoupe . I was asked if I wanted it heated to yourself a favour do it ! Also note there are a few cake shops in the area trust me don’t walk bye !

We tried a couple of cakes from this bakery, and the poppy cake in particular was quite nice. The service was friendly and the overall experience was good. That said, there’s still room for improvement — everything was decent, but not quite exceptional yet.

Waited in line only to find out the pandan croissants were sold out and I was devastated. But the amazing staff were really helpful and I was able to get a fresh batch, they are always incredible! Beautiful pastries and super great staff. Will definitely be back

Pretty good pastries but there was a very long line to get in. The pandan was very popular and took us two tries to get it as it kept getting sold out. While it was good, I wouldn’t get it again as it tasted like a normal croissant that was green. The croissants were fresh and hot and it was good.

Agathe is a popular patisserie in Melbourne with multiple locations. I’ve been a few times and there are always lines on the weekend. I recently got to try the pandan croissant and it really surprised me. The flavour was definitely sweet but didn’t feel heavy. And the pastry itself was just so crispy, flaky and chewy - one of the best croissants I’ve ever had. I particularly liked that it didn’t fall/flake apart when biting into it! It was also moist and seemed freshly made. The other typical flavours like plain and chocolate are good but didn’t stand out like the pandan. Price definitely isn’t cheap at almost $10. Definitely recommend a visit and hope you’re lucky with timing (I was there after lunch).

A 100% must visit shop when visiting the South Melbourne Market. Agathe Patisserie is a handcrafted, authentic French pastry shop located at the South Melbourne Market. With heaps of variety to choose from there is a pastry for everyone weather it be an almond croissant, a pear pastry or countless other options there is something for everyone. Thank you for having us and we will be coming back again.

13/7/25 - 4.5 stars Probably one of the most famous bakery chains in Melbourne and for good reason. I was recommended this place several times and seems like many other ppl were too cos the lines are always long. That being said, service turnover is quite fast. The pastries are freshly made and in pretty big batches, but, even still things were sold out like the flan which was highly recommended. The quality of the croissants were exceptional though so was worth waiting. Croissants Pandan: SS, 9/10. As advertised, delicious but maybe just a bit too sweet Original: SS, 9/10. Just buttery and tasty. Texture: SS+, 9.5/10. As good as any I've ever had Value: S, 7/10. $9 for pandan is a little bit much but $7 for original is good.

OK, what do you get when you cross a croissant with a croque monsieur? No, not a ham and cheese croissant, much much more. Agathe Patisserie bakes this little number well, keeps them warm in a pie warmer for lunch (Royal Arcade store) and takes me straight back to Paris where often a boulanger adds a dollop of bechamel to the leg ham and gruyère before rolling/baking the ultimate lunchtime croissant. Been coming here for 3 years and the pastries have always been great. However, there have been a few instances of price discrepancies and missing orders, so I could see improvements in service to really boost the establishment. Picked up a slice of their bread and butter pudding with apricots this morning, and while lovely I was surprised to pay $9 at the till, given there’s to pricing signage anywhere. I would recommend that items are labelled with a description and price, as sometimes I am surprised at the total when paying (as was the case today). All in all, great local bakery.

We wanted to try this local bakery. The offer a lot of options, mostly sweet pastries. We tried the hazelnut croissant and the ham&Chee with bechamel sauce. They were both good, balanced. I would say they were good but nothing special. I think it's a good option for a low key weekend treat. The prince range in my option is high for the quality we paid $18 for the two croissants. For now, I wouldn't return to buy the same items.

Small shop with big surprises! The bakery is so colourful and tasty. You can taste and smell the freshness in them. Definitely recommend!

I stumbled upon the S’roll on Google Maps while I was in the area this weekend. The bakery was relatively empty when I visited past 1 pm. The S’roll is generously portioned and filling. Despite the thin crust, it doesn’t make me feel overly carb-loaded, though I probably did. It’s a delightful savoury treat that’s also satisfying enough for a lunch. Their other pastries look really good as well! Will return again :)

A lovely artisan bakery with quality goods. Primarily we came for the almond croissant in our journal of the best Almond Croissant in Melbourne and Aus. Tivoli scores a solid 7.5/10, generous filling, not as airy as I'd like but a definite recommender stop if you're around and craving an almond croissant. Will definitely stop by again when we're in the area again!

I've been several times and I've loved it every time, their pastry cream is top tier! I've tried their chocolate and caramel croissant, strawberry danish, Bischoff croissant, cruffin, hazelnut and tiramisu pastry, as their strawberry and cream croissant out of their sweet food, and I've tried their pies, sausage rolls, and spanakopita out of their savoury pastries, I think their sweet pastries are better than their savoury, but still they are all good, and I enjoy their hot chocolates as well, if you're in the area I would totally give it a shot

I’ve eaten here several times before, and the ham and cheese croissant has always been delicious—crispy bread, flavorful filling, and fresh ingredients. However, after today’s meal, I had a stomachache and diarrhea. Not sure if it was just bad luck or a food hygiene issue. I really hope the restaurant pays more attention to this. If improved, I’d still consider coming back!

Found this place on my last morning in St Kilda. Friendly, lots of freshly made food, wonderfully well made coffee. A refuge before a long journey and shame I can't take it with me.

This local bakery has the best sourdough Bagette‘s and croissants in Melbourne. For all the years I’ve been going it is always the best quality freshly made on site. Definitely recommend - you won’t be disappointed

I really enjoyed the atmosphere at Dana Patisserie when we visited. We arrived around 8am and dined upstairs. While we could hear the hustle and bustle downstairs as people came and went, the upstairs area was empty and peaceful. There’s a small collection of books that were fun to browse, and a couple of tables by the window for any avid people-watchers. The coffee and hot chocolate were good, not too memorable but a nice way to kick-start the morning. There were plenty of pastry and dessert options in the display case, catering to a variety of dietary requirements. The staff were friendly and approachable as they served customers, creating a pleasant morning vibe. Overall, it’s a lovely little cafe, conveniently located right by the train station in Balaclava. The quiet nook on the second level is a great spot to relax. With its charming, modern interior, it’s definitely a worthwhile stop when passing through the area.

I was walking along Carlisle St with my friends, and I stumbled upon this lovely bakery with so many choices of baked goods. Staffs were so friendly and helpful, they guided me through all of their best sellers and helped me decide what to buy. I recommended the pesto, mozerella, and tomato puff pastry, and the spinach and leek quiche. Coffee was also exquisite ❤️ Highly recommended to everyone

I ordered 1 croisant, 1 cinamon bun and 2 chai lattes. The pattiserie is dietary friendly. The croisant reminded me of Paris, exquisite taste. The cinamon bun was filled with icing, which was lovely.

I had such a lovely experience at Dana Patisserie today! The pastries were absolutely fresh and delicious. I tried the Danish pastry with berries and the cinnamon roll, and both were freah outstanding. I also ordered an oat milk cappuccino, and it was made perfectly, just the way I like it. And they even gave me one piece of marshmallow. The staff were so welcoming and kind, which made the visit even more enjoyable. A beautiful patisserie with stunning treats and wonderful service. I’ll definitely be coming back!

I recently discovered a bakery that was new to me, and I’m so glad I did. The staff were very helpful and friendly. I tried a chocolate almond croissant and a spinach & ricotta bureka- both were fresh, flaky, and absolutely delicious. It’s definitely a spot I’ll be returning to. Highly recommend if you haven’t been yet!

Had the chicken sandwich, it's alright nothing to write home about. I was expecting the bread to be the start of the show, being they are famous for their bread, but it was just alright. I'm a bit underwhelmed because it was a bit pricey. All in all, it wasn't a bad experience.

Delicious and Decadent. My partner and I had the tuna sandwich, cinnamon scroll, and the margarita pesto pizza from here, and my goodness, it's heavenly. Highly recommend it. It was our first time there and the attendent that served us threw in an extra scroll too - which made our day 🥰 It's slightly on the higher end of prices but rightfully so because that's the level of quality and flavour their products exude and pack.

Hands down Melbourne's best Portugese tart bar none. And also easily in my top 5 best Almond Croissants in Melbourne. Having documented over 70 patisseries in my journalling of Almond Croissants around Australia, I will always be happy to travel to any Baker Bleu locations for some tasty pastries. A lovely bakery with a great assortment of pastries. They are one of the few bakeries in Melbourne that make the Kouign amann- unfortunately they tend to be a bit more burnt than other bakeries version, but the unburnt ones are fantastic. Not a lot of space to eat, esp in winter, but the prices are reasonable, the service is excellent and the coffee is delicious. Do yourself a favor and try their cinnamon scroll 🤤

I wanted to hop by before uni to get myself a treat, I got there at 10am and have been really wanting to try the salad sandwich however they said they didn’t serve it until after 10 and it was already 10, I just don’t understand how they had every other sandwich but the salad sandwich when it doesn’t even require any sort of protein? So I got the chicken sandwich instead, which I’ve already had before. I also got the sausage roll and it was given to me cold :( I wish I could’ve given better service and product next time.

Purchased some Bagels..Seeded bread..Almond croissant and all were really good!! 10/10 I also ordered a Chai Latte and asked for it to be extra hot and extra strong, the staff repeated it back to me to which I agreed. I got my order and drove off, the Chai was COLD! I was disappointed as I made a point of saying how I wanted it...obviously the barista doesn't actually read the orders.

Best Almond Croissant in Melbourne? Well at least the best one I have tasted so far. The combination of crispy pastry and buttery and moist fillings is just amazing. My only complain is they close too early. Highly recommended.

Came here around 10am on a weekday and this place has a good steady flow of customers from the nearby hospital. Parking is a bit hard to juggle but is possible to find some on the street. We had the cinnamon roll and the chocolate croissant. It was flavour and crunchy, it was so good we had birds picking off the crumbs as we ate on the bench in front of the store. All their baked goods are made on site but hand, clearly a sign of confidence as they close at 1230. Most bakeries close at 2pm.

The pastries here are absolutely amazing. The chocolate almond croissant blew my mind and makes for a delicious mess! However, I’ve ordered a coffee there this morning and it was burnt… like really bad. I also have noticed they always have flies around, so an improvement in their hygiene would be good!

A very busy bakery on Gordon Street. We were greeted with a very nice warm smile by the staff which was really nice. Unfortunately I didn't have the time to take photos of my food as they are takeaway. But, the cheese stick was so moorish and tasty, with perfect crispness. I also had the gluten free brownies and OMG, it was the best brownies ever! And sorry I can't remember what it is called but I also had the heart shape crispy sweet pastry, so yummy. Lastly soy chai latte is creamy and perfectly spiced, I loved every sip. It was a privilege to be able to try their baked goods.

Fresh and yummy pastry and good coffee . I’m obsessed with their Almond Croissant . The only thing I would suggest is a couple of chairs outside for seating, and also organizing inside a bit more so the environment is more pleasant. Overall a very satisfying bakery!

Don't bother with Lune or anywhere else. This place does the best Croissant in all of Melbourne! Tried the vegan Croissant, nornal Croissant, almond Croissant and palmier and could not fault a single thing. Perfectly crispy, buttery and full of flavour. This café has a calm and relaxing atmosphere that really stands out. I’d often seen a line outside when passing by, so I’d been curious for a while. They close at 3:00 p.m., and I came in at 2:50. Many items were already sold out, but there were still a few groups of customers. I ordered a matcha canelé and a flat white. To be honest, the matcha canelé was absolutely delicious, but I’ve had flat whites elsewhere that I prefer. Still, I’ll definitely come back. Next time, I’ll try their regular canelé or croissant.

Sesame and sea salt was divine! Soft yet crunchy, sweet and salty, the sesame flavour was perfect. The Spinach and ricotta Danish was also Very nice, pastry was flaky and crunchy, the spinach and ricotta filling was substantial, one could consider a it to be a meal itself. Definitely will return to try other flavours. No seating available. It was terribly windy the day we went, so we went to QV food court to enjoy the pastries.

Bakemono has the best shiopan in Melbourne, flaky, buttery, and absolutely delicious! 🥐 The coffee here is also really good, perfectly complementing the pastries. I love the atmosphere of this place, and even though there’s usually a wait in line, it’s totally worth it. Friendly staff, great vibes, and everything just tastes amazing. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Melbourne for a treat! ☕💛

Shio pan and canale are perfect. Latte is good. I went there before shop opening time but still had so many queue before😅. The smell of freshly made pastry could be recognize by two block away and it’s amazing✨

Down an alleyway, baked goods smell wafting down the street beside it. Good coffee and great Yuzu Almond Croissant. Flaky pastry, little chew on the middle to break up the flakiness, the hint of Yuzu breaks the croissant's butteriness and sweetness of the almonds. Worth the money and short walk from where we are staying. Line at the front but wasn't to bad and it moved fairly rapidly. Standing room while waiting for takeaway, plenty of street benches on Swanston street. In front of a Church of Christ. Glory to God the highest

This bakery has my heart! Their blue cheese and garlic fougasse is hands down the best you’ll find in Melbourne. The almond croissant is also fantastic — for me, it’s the second best in town. I grabbed a garlic & rosemary fougasse, an almond croissant, and two regular lattes for $26.50. They’ve got a great selection of rolls, sandwiches, and breads. Highly recommend checking them out!

Thank God I came across this bakery! Ordered the egg salad sandwich, sticky bun and fruit danish. I’ve saved this place for a few years now and I finally got to try it. I tried the dark chocolate chip cookie with sea salt and also the toffee scroll. One bite into the chocolate chip cookie and the rich and bitter taste of dark chocolate coats my mouth. The outer layer of the cookie is crispy while the inner part is chewy. I can’t imagine how good it will taste fresh out the oven. The toffee scroll was recommended by the person taking my order. The bread is a tad bit dry but it could also be because of the timing that I went. It wasn’t too sweet which always wins plus points for me. The walnuts are crispy, and the bread itself has some savoury notes to it. The cream on top saves the bread as the light sweetness and the moistness from it complements the dryness and savouriness of the bread. I would not say that I would crave these, but it’s well made pastries that won’t go wrong. I also would like to add that I found a reaaaaaaaaally small strand of hair in the cream (listed in the last photo). I understand accidents happen and you guys probably uphold sanitation in the kitchen. I’ll let it slide because the pastries were good. Just be careful!

One of the best bakes we’ve had this trip to Melbourne! Our local friend highly recommended the garlic & rosemary fougasse - and lo and behold, it was the BEST bread. Easily in my top 10 breads of all time. The financier was delightful too. I think there were gooey bites of Nutella in there?!? Still so good even the next day! We absolutely loved everything. Service was homely and warm, couldn’t have asked for more. It’s a little out of city centre, but so worth the travel. Definitely a must-visit! 🏃🏻💨

Visited this shop twice at around 8am and it was starting to get busy. Therefore highly recommended to arrive early to best the crowd. The quality and variety of bread and pastry are very good. Ordered a flat white one of the days and it was very, very good too. Extremely friendly staff to help you pick out what you need.

Small cafe with only 2 seating. There was a long at oneish, perhaps everyone was grabbing a quick bite? Had the Beef bourguignon. Goes well with the chilli sauce provided, otherwise it was too tad too salty for me. There were chunky pieces of beef and bacon, carrots. Nicely done.

Tried this cute local spot on my way to work, but left disappointed. The Jerusalem onion & cheese croissant was literally half a croissant, and the almond one started great but halfway turned into a bitter citrus custard—strange combo. No espresso, only filtered coffee with long-life milk, yet charged latte prices. Staff (possibly the owner) came off a bit blunt. Paid $27 for a half savoury, half almond-weird hybrid croissant, and a sad coffee. Definitely overpriced and not the vibe. Wanted to like it, but can’t recommend.

Delicious!! Definitely rate this the Best in Melbourne! Loved Todays savoury one: Jerusalem artichoke, roasted onion and taleggios, the pastry was crunchy, flaky and buttery and the filling had so much flavour, Delicious! The sweetness of the sweet varieties were also perfect. Service was friendly and helpful when questioned about the pastries.

My friend and I wanted to get these croissants before meeting up with our friends. So we left early and got there and tried the chocolate croissant and mango croissant. They were to die for. It’s this small little bakery basically a hole in the wall selling delicious pastries. I would definetly come back again just to have the mango croissant.

A small place selling croissants out of window. But wow! Do croissants are really good. My go to piece is the leatherwood honey and sea salt. If there is anything else interesting I will usually get it too. If you have the time, definitely a place to stop at in Melbourne.

I got the chocolate croissant to go. It was a good chocolate croissant but didn't taste a step above what you get at a lot of other bakery shops making a chocolate croissant. Maybe more butter would make it more flaky and amped up the flavour profile.

This is just review of their pain au chocolate… which is disappointing, especially for $6-7. Barely there chocolate bar / inside (unlike the one that I had in another bakery) and I bought this yesterday and had it this morning, it already felt like eating a stale bread. Not much butter, not crunchy… just meh. Ive eaten a 2-3 day chocolate croissant before that has been squished inside my bag and that one still tasted better than this. I also bought some chocolate cookies from this place before and they were very disappointing chocolate cookies. Should have learn my lesson. Never again.

Best tasting sausage roll in the world! (at least as far as I have tasted). I was offered chutney to go with it but refused because of my dietary restrictions; so glad I did because the flavour of the sausage roll was so awesome it didn't need any sauce (which may have detracted from the taste anyway),

Great sourdough bread. Been around for many years and always consistent product. I only buy the wholewheat bread and casalinga loaf which are delicious. The casalinga makes excellent french toast as it soaks up all the egg and becomes super lush.

It was raining heavily today and I was drawn into this bakery while passing by. The young lady at the counter was very friendly and introduced the breads to us. The bread was also delicious! Highly recommend this bakery:)

The mushroom brioche was amazing. I like mushrooms but only as a side flavour like topping on a pizza but for it to be one of the main ingredients I was hesitant but pleasantly surprised with how well it shone and came together in this brioche. The almond croissant was probably the best I have had to date. Most I have had tended tough or dry but not this. Even the ends of it was soft and delightful. The prosciutto role tho was a let down. The bread was just too tough and it’s was just plain in terms of flavour… maybe this is how is supposed to be ?

One of the best places I’ve eaten in Melbourne! Phenomenal chai - super spicy and flavoursome. The food was absolutely incredible! Super fresh and burst with flavour. The quality of the ingredients were very high, I could taste the quality with every bite. The lady who served me was very competent in assuring the gluten free food was coeliac safe. Too many options to choose from, I want to try it all! I’d say it’s quite expensive but when you think the quality is excellent, the taste is amazing and they produce their own nut milks - makes it worth it! 100% a must in St Kilda!

Awesome atmosphere- visited here on a rainy cold day, but vibe was so chill, music relaxing, and the customer base was good too. Food was tasty, had pasta and focaccia. Would like to come back to try other things. I tried some pieces of cake/brownie for tasting too- they were so delicious!! Can’t wait to come back. Last but not the least, we had gluten free requirements and owner was able to comfortably accommodate for.

The coffee was good, but I was disappointed with the service. They advertise their homemade plant-based milk as available for tasting, but when I asked to try it, I was refused. The Italian waitress was quite unfriendly, which really affected the experience.

Awesome coffee and lovely atmosphere! It’s worth mentioning they put three shots in an extra large cappuccino so it’s still strong and not only a warm cup of milk. Love the bags they sell for a very reasonable price coming with their beautiful logo.

3 of us met in Au Naturale as recommended by a friend when he and the owner had a chance meeting the day before. The owner, Marialuisa, was so accommodating with all our many questions regarding their menu & food recommendations, their products & milking processes among others. The food was awesome! I don’t eat pasta much but had tried the orecchiette & loved it… they even made their own pasta! My friends had the parmigiana & eggs benedict. BTW, before our food orders were being prepared, the owner had us sampled their 3 plant-based milk. One can tell the passion & care that went through the milking processes, the menu & their cafeteria & their business. No nasties in their nut milks, food & drinks! I even bought bottles of the 3 nut milks we tried to see which goes the best with my coffees & teas & other treats! I already tried their milk with my coffee at home earlier & sharing my photo here. Such a great find! Definitely highly recommended!

Good coffee, good service what more could you ask for? A cute decorated spot to relax that’s what I was welcomed to on my first visit on Tuesday. I have tried the bacon and egg slice which was full of flavour and fresh! Service was out of this world, the staff try so hard to remember your name, and make you feel like family after few visits. The atmosphere is filled with soft background music, and feels comfortable due to the decorations and location.

This place was recommended by the locals of St Kilda and this place did not disappoint. Coffee was excellent and so was my truffle scramble eggs. More impressive was their own brand vegetable based milk for coffee and normal consumption. Taste of their Almond milk which I tasted was well balanced- was not watery or diluted like other brands of Almond milk; there is a rich taste of Almond. As for the food, simply divine; my scramble egg was done to perfection and they were not shy in the truffle offering. Won’t be our last time; would certainly come by again when we come back to Melbourne.

The food was really, really good, it tasted amazing, and looked really nice. The portions are a bit small though, for the price. Staff are kind and friendly, and drinks come out really fast. We got seated pretty quickly. The atmosphere is sooo nice! The music isn't too loud either.

Recommended by local, apparently they said St Ali has the best coffee in town, so I come and try it out. They have really lots of variety of beans and brewing, I tried their standard and daily single origin, well, thats really good 😊 Food are very special as well, my favorite is the Barramundi Wings (fish with sweet and spicy source), a bit of thai flavor which is a surprise in view of this is a Coffee place. But i really love it, very fresh fish as well. Turkish Egg and Fluffy pancakes are good as well.

We came here for a quick coffee and it did not disappoint. The staff were very friendly and well informed of the speciality drinks. We got ‘espresso flight’ and ‘strawberry cloud’. They were great. My only complaint and reason to not come back is the prices. My drink was $16 alone. Not very affordable, especially in this economy!

The blueberry lemon pie coffee was STUNNING! We had the polenta, salmon bagel, scrambled eggs and a pour over but the blueberry lemon pie drink stole the show! It sounds like a kiddy dessert beverage but it's so complex and delicately crafted - the coffee whip was so delicious to both an espresso lover and a non-coffee drinker present that we had to get another one to go! Saddened that it doesn't seem to be on the menu at the other outlets - but we'll definitely travel out here the next time we fly into Melbourne just to savour this flavour again. Service was great too!!

Each cup revealed unique notes and aromas, reflecting the global diversity and craftsmanship that make coffee such a fascinating beverage. It was an awesome experience that reminded me how excellence often lies in the details, and how curiosity can transform something as simple as a cup of coffee into a world of discovery.

It was the best almond croissant I ever had. There were crunchy textures of the bread, the almonds were glazed with caramel perfectly. The Vegemite one was decent, not too strong flavour. The pain au chocolate kind of surprised me. The chocolate flavour wasn’t incredibly sweet and the bread was honestly amazing. The butter made the whole texture soft. The hot chocolate was very elegant in its appearance. It wasn’t the sweet kind you would get in stores, it was slightly more bitter and the cacao powder was a perfect match. The only thing that could be improved was the seats. There were very little seats in a big room. And the tables were too low. So it felt awkward eating there and my back didn’t feel very well. Overall, you must come! If you come at when it’s almost lunchtime. There would be less people than in the morning.

I heard the queue here is shorter than at the city location, which was a pleasant surprise. The almond croissant was fantastic—flaky, crispy exterior with a rich, flavorful filling. The classic croissant was also impressive, boasting a perfectly crisp crust and delightful taste. However, the pain au chocolat was underwhelming, lacking the same wow factor.

Yeah. The pastry here is quite elite. Never had a croissant pastry like this place. Always come for the specials, especially the Golden Haze. That is top notch quality flavours. Of course any croissant is amazing, the cruffin with that tart lemon curd and the amazing vegemite scroll.

Incredible experience at Lune Lab. I have been trying to get tickets for a long time. Great dining experience, 3 courses (traditional croissant, savoury and sweet). We were really impressed with the savoury and sweet courses, the design and taste of the meals was excellent. The information shared by the chefs and team added to the experience. Highly recommend. The best croissants in Melbourne and probably across Australia. Nice chic environment with friendly staff, they’d explain each pastry in detail which is helpful for first timer. Not a lot of parking nearby, just limited street parking.

I like my croissant like i like Lune 🤭 I love coming back here every now and then. The ordering flow is so smooth and efficient. Though the options are not too vary since croissants are quickly sold out, but i am happy with every piece that i had here, every time 🥹

Came here for dinner on a weekday. The food was really amazing and delicious! The entrees we got were all based on some kind of bakery items and they were very well done. The cavatelli pasta and lobster croissant were my personal favourites. The only slightly disappointing thing we experienced was that it took a while for the food to come out. This was on what looked like a pretty quiet weekday too. Not sure if that was a one off or a common occurrence. Regardless, the food was good enough that I would still recommend this restaurant. Just don't accidentally end up in the Armadale location like one of the people in our group did.

Great coffee and brunch spot. Food quality is great however their bakery goods are sort of hit and miss. We had the strawberry danish which was pretty food and the pain au chocolat which felt either it was almost on the verge of stale or just overbaked. We also had the eggs benedict which I throughly enjoyed. My partner had the avocado smash where the sourdough toast was borderline burnt considering it was a hard sourdough the burnt toast meant it was harder even to cut through. I have eaten here a few times but would recommend to try all their offerings in terms of food .

I am extremely dissatisfied with my recent experience at Ned's, where I found a piece of cardboard in my artisan bread. Their management of this food safety issue has been inadequate. Furthermore, this incident, coupled with a previous experience of burnt coffee, has led me to choose not to return. It's disheartening to see the significant decline in service levels since the new management takeover from the Valarc Group, as it once was a beloved destination for coffee and bread. 😞 #foodsafety That’s quite an unfair comment to say I have ‘other intentions’. You offered me $30 store credit to come back when I have lost totally trust. It’s actually quite insulting. I wonder how you would feel if you were treated and felt that I did after leaving with a customer service experience like I did.

European style bistro open for brunch all the way to dinner and very popular with the locals especially on the weekends. This is also a bakery that sells various European style breads. We came for a Wednesday dinner around 630pm and there was no wait. The baked Paccheri which is like these large tube-shaped pasta was excellent, so was the calamari that was seasoned and fried nicely. The steak Frite however was disappointing, the meat was tough and the butter that ties the sauce with the overall dish had not much taste. Food - 6 Service - 9 Vibe - 8 Price - $$

From the moment you walk through the door the friendly and attentive staff are there to greet you, even at its busiest. I love when you sit down your coffee order is requested straight away. The pastries and bread are all beautiful and fresh. There is so much selection! My personal favourite is a heated croissant with butter and jam - simple and delicious. I went here frequently when staying in South Yarra for a month, having just moved from Scotland, it was a consistently amazing, warm and welcoming go to during the transition. All round great place with great people.

We are frequent visitors for past few years, mainly for breakfast & coffee and we've never experienced anything but great service, amazing food and coffee. Beautiful settings, with an "Old world" urban interior in most positive sense....a bit of Guernica hanging down and perfectly made bread & pastries reminding us that this is our local European place we are craving to go as often as we can. Last Wednesday, we went for Steak frites night first time and it was very good. Nicely prepared steak, well presented with Montpellier butter, fries and glass of red....sangiovese , quite nice & aromatic....what else would you desire on a Wednesday afternoon to break the week and recharge for the rest of it... Really feeling like something sweet and maybe a bit chocolatey so headed to RACV @LePetitGateauMelb for the black forrest: Two layers of chocolate sponge surrounding a vanilla mousse with guinette cherries all enveloped with a dark chocolate mousse, topped with vanilla Chantilly cream pebbles. One fork full and I'm in my happy place. Delicious flavours and textures. I’ve been a loyal customer of Le Petit Gateau for years and have always ordered my birthday cakes here. However, today’s experience was deeply disappointing. I was suddenly charged an extra $5 for the chocolate plaque — something that has always been complimentary in all my past orders. There was no notice about this change either online or in-store. When I questioned it and even showed my previous receipts, the staff’s response was dismissive and unprofessional, asking if I wanted to repay the $5 they hadn’t charged me before. The issue isn’t the amount — it’s the lack of transparency and respect for returning customers. Had this been clearly stated, I would have had no issue paying it. Sadly, this experience has made me lose confidence in a place I once trusted and recommended.

Caramel butterscotch pie is to die for 🤤 sweet and delicious! They have amazing selection of pastries, bread and cakes. Cinnamon roll was good, the glaze reminds me of krispy creme donuts

THE BESTESTTTTT BAKERY!! My family and I have been coming to Candied for years and this is my first time writing a review because Alex deserves it!! I had a family emergency and needed two cakes and she was so helpful and kind. To say her customer service was great is an understatement. The most beautiful soul ever , definitely what I needed on a stressful Saturday morning. Other than that , I cannot recommend the red velvet cake enough. I wish i could gatekeep but its too good. It has become a family tradition of ours to have a red velvet cake every birthday .. so please never change the recipe🫶🏻 10/10 Also tried the cinnamon scroll and it was delishh, i do prefer a creamcheese frosting but this was sort of like krispykreme icing sugar glaze. Still yum, light and fluffy and doesnt make you sick🥰8/10

Loved the tres leches cake! Pistachio cream croissant shell was a bit hard but filling was tasty. Disappointed with the red velvet as the icing almost had a rubbery texture and don’t recommend it. Will be back to try the other cakes and pastries though

Stumbled upon Candied Bakery and tried the chocolate Biscoff cream croissant, rich, decadent, and perfect if you love dark chocolate. We also tried the pistachio escargot, which was my favourite, lighter but equally delicious. Would’ve loved to try more, but they were understandably sold out on a busy Sunday afternoon.

Came here on a weekend day just after lunch before they close. We ordered the croissant with home made jam, and a egg baguette sandwich. Both of which are divine. The bread crunch and the flavour of the egg and mayo is moorish and can’t be stopped.

Once I came by this bakery as they were closing. To be honest I think they had closed and forgot to lock the door. The guy working there sold me a loaf of bread for cheap, and gave me a free pastry and a free sandwich. It was such a bounty of baked goods.

For a bakery with only a few tables, Loafer packs in the quality. Organic, biodynamic flours, artisan technique — you can taste the difference. And it feels like a proper local treat.

Such a cute nook just off St Georges Rd! Loafer bread is definitely an Melbourne institution that cannot be missed, and I'm so happy that I finally got to try their pastries. From first glance you can already tell its going to be a yummy pastry as the colouring and shine on the outside is perfect. The pastry was both crunchy and flaky which is a must for me, and it had a well cooked taste which I enjoyed as well. The actual inside of the croissant was well cooked and super super light, but there wasn't too much flavour to it unfortunately and lacked the sweet and buttery taste I tend to look for in a croissant. Rating: Flakiness and Crunch 9/10 Flavour: 7/10 Lamination: 7/10 Overall it was an above average croissant and I reckon it deserved a 7.5/10 🤩

I’ve worked in hospo my whole life and just moved down to Melbourne in January so I’ve never been a regular of my own ever. I’m so glad I moved in down the road from loafer. The coffee is delish, I love bringing my own mug it’s the best idea. The pastries are one of the best in Melb. Every staff member is so lovely, but I need to give a special shoutout to Ken as he has made my morning every time I go! We love you Ken! And of course Patrick is awesome and I always love having a chat.

Delicious crispy almond croissant for the best value in Melbourne! Loafer Bread was this week’s agenda on my list of finding the best croissants in Melbourne. For only $6.50, with staff who kindly warmed up the pastries, I highly recommend trying it out! Compared to the other almond croissants in the game, this one’s got a hefty amount of almonds which adds a heap of nutty flavour but I’m not complaining! Butteriness is an understatement! It’s more on the crispier side than it is flaky, and just a little bit over baked at that time :( The frangipane filling inside was definitely the star of the show here - good amount of spices with a nice mellow tone of rum, soft consistency. Personally didn’t blow my mind and I would prefer it less sweeter but if it was in my area, 100% would be grabbing this on the regular! Food: 4/5 Value: 5/5 Ambience: 4/5 Service: 5/5

You can never go wrong with brioche donuts and the golden gaytime has to be one of the greatest. My husband prefers the more traditional options like custard or plain sugar so a 4 pack is perfect to share

Faultless coffee & bacon and egg roll was a delight

I met a colleague for breakie here. The restaurant is in a beautiful part of Port Melbourne, that is easily accessible from the West Gate Freeway. There's plenty of car parking in and around the restaurant. The tram stop is very close to the restaurant. The restaurant has a beautiful ambience, old world charm and very warm interiors (and I am not talking about the heating). The staff are very welcoming and keep an eye on every table to refill tea cups, bowls and plates. They will tell you if the food is going to be too much for the group. So, do listen to them. We ordered the brunch because we wanted some of everything. We loved the food. Even though I know less than little about Lebanese food, my colleague is from the Middle East and she knows about authentic Middle Eastern food. I am so glad that we decided to share a meal together here because I felt like I was at home (a place where eating with your hands and sharing food from the same plate is a norm).

This restaurant is undoubtedly one of the city's best Middle Eastern breakfast spots. It was our first visit, but we will definitely be returning. The variety of authentic Lebanese dishes is impressive; they are freshly made, taste amazing, and are beautifully presented. We also tried the kunafa, which was even better than the main dishes. It was one of the best in the city, surpassing those we've tried on Sydney Road. The kunaffa was fresh, warm, and perfectly balanced without being too oily. We truly enjoyed every item on the menu and highly recommend it!

This used to be Brûlée- just in case you go there and get confused by what was on Postcards (existing elsewhere now). Still have some decor up from them as I believe part ownership, please let me know if I’m wrong and I’ll correct. I have introduced this place to many and they to many more, word of mouth is key. Before was a French menu however, now it is Lebanese/Franco. The interior is rustic/almost homely, with personal touches of wooden board games scattered around, old technology, paintings and photos. Limited seating outside but inside is generally the place to be. Always busy for brunch on the weekends, and if you want a bit more quiet come during the week, where it is less hectic. Parking limited to street 1-2hrs and some free on weekends if you look around. Wait Staff are friendly, engaging and flirtatious at times, made my friends elderly Mother chuckle. The variety of chef and kitchen hands earn their wages as they are working hard non stop! Food is tasty, made on the premises and traditional Lebanese. If new to this cuisine try the ‘All you can eat’Lebanese breakfast - I watched two tourists polish this off in about an hour and they loved it. I tend to go for Awarma with eggs and bread, or Manakish with falafel or meat for brunch or lunch. Coffee or teas are superb - try some traditional ones too. The food is hearty, rich and seasoned well. Servings are generous and you always leave full! Love this place. ***Question to those preparing the Manakish - why no gloves?

I came here with a friend and we adored the all-you-can-eat breakfast! It was my first time trying Lebanese cuisine and everything was so fresh and delicious. All of the staff were lovely, especially Nioka who was an actual ray of sunshine

The pastry was quite good! It had a nice flaky texture and was baked to a golden perfection. The filling was flavorful, though it could have been a bit richer. Overall, it was enjoyable, and I’d definitely recommend giving it a try. I’d rate it 80/100—solid and satisfying!

Beautiful, quality pastries. We’re here on a weekend and pretty busy, but the line moves fast. Coffee was average but worth your time for the pastries - will return to try out the loaves.

It’s a bit of a mixed pastry experience. The croissant was decent but nothing to rave about — a bit underwhelming in flakiness and depth of flavour. However, the Kouign-amann was absolutely outstanding — perfectly caramelized, rich, and buttery with a great balance of crisp and chew. The real surprise hit was the Vegemite danish — a genius combo of savoury, cheesy, and just enough pastry sweetness to keep it interesting.

Had an early breakfast at Q Le Baker and it was excellent. The almond croissant and ham & cheese croissant were both standouts — buttery, flaky, and fresh. Nice and quiet around 8am with plenty of seating in the market. Great spot to start the day!

A huge thank you to the team at Q Le Baker for helping me with my marriage proposal! The service was absolutely fantastic. They were so flexible and accommodating when I had to change my plans. I gave them a very brief idea of what I wanted, and they delivered a cake that was more beautiful and delicious than I could have ever imagined. They created a stunning Burnt Basque Cheesecake with fresh raspberries and a touch of gold leaf. The raspberries were so fresh and held their form perfectly, making it very presentable. The cake itself was incredible—it had a classy level of sweetness that wasn't overwhelming. The crumb had a satisfying texture that was perfectly firm without being burnt. I couldn't be happier with the result or with how helpful and professional the team was. They truly made a special day even more perfect. I highly recommend Q Le Baker for any custom order!

I would describe this bakery as ‘fine enough’…Almond croissant was not that fantastic honestly. The almond filling was too thick and clunky I found. The NY style white chocolate and raspberry cookie was alright. I think this place is more for if you’re in a rush and don’t mind a sort of average coffee & sweet treat.

I visited this bakery this morning and got a single hot cross bun and a semla bun. We came from Perth and were so keen to try this bakery, but it was so disappointing. The hot cross bun was inedible. As seen in the image, it was SO DRY and the flavour was terrible. There was clearly no salt in the dough (all sweets should have salt to balance the flavours) and it was as hard as a rock. It was low, not fluffy at all and there were too many sultanas. There was no cinnamon flavour throughout and it was just awful. I recently baked hot cross buns at home and it was not difficult at all. Mine came out fluffy and delicious. The semla bun was dry and stale and the cream didn’t taste right. There was no almond flavour throughout the pastry and it was barely edible. The almond paste inside was so sickly sweet that it had to be taken out. All of the sweets and bread products sit out and I believe this is why they go stale to quickly. They’re not in a fully enclosed cabinet and today was a 30°C day. There were products with fresh cream and other dairy products sitting out of the fridge in the open warm air. All items have no prices displayed and it cost over $16 for 1 hot cross bun and a small semla bun. There was a sign stating “public holiday surcharge” but there was no percentage stated. We were so disappointed with our experience here. Melbourne has such incredible bakeries around and I will not be returning to Austro. EDIT: The reply received from the bakery owner regarding my review is very disappointing. We did message you privately (multiple times) and all messages were seen, but we were left with no response. I understand what it is like to have a small business, my family has owned one for 15 years, but customer service should always be a priority. I have read some other replies from the over, to negative reviews and they are of the same calibre, with a slightly passive aggressive undertone. All feedback should always be taken on board and the customer is always right - it’s the key to good hospitality. You can produce a mediocre product, but have FABULOUS customer service OR you can produce an incredible product, with terrible customer service and the customer will always choose the place with good customer service. Eating out in this economy is a luxury and negative experiences can always be resolved and all feedback should be taken onboard and used to improve. I won’t be removing my review, as this is a true depiction of my experience and it is an honest review of the items I purchased and the overall experience. No one should be asked to revoke a review of their experience if it was negative, isn’t it the whole point of having reviews in the first place?

I have been eyeing this bakery that only opens 2 days a week and have been reading good reviews online. I tried the mushroom t-stracc and carrot cake. The carrot cake was just average and kind of disappointing, but the mushroom t-stracc was good.

Their bread and pastries are baker on site. I had their beef goulash pie and the meat wasn’t juicy plus the texture was on the tougher side. Also, the pastry wasn’t flaky at all. I also had the coffee cinnamon scroll recommended by the staff, can barely taste the cinnamon but the texture was soft and pillowy. Final verdict: all average and it costs a total of $17 which is a little pricey but since it’s located in south melbourne I guess it makes sense? May be I might change my mind after trying their famous coffee and pretzel?

Such a nice laidback spot with amazing bakeries with Central European flavors and modern Melbournean accents. ❤️: I panicked bought a ton of bakeries that the staff their asked if I was having a “party”. Well, I shamelessly said no and that all these pastries were for me 🤪 (and a sanga for my boyfriend 😅). I loved loved loved the Miso Eggplant Danish (AMAZING FLAVORS 😍). I was intrigued with the Baklava Danish and Vienna Coffee Scrolls—both did not disappoint! Also grabbed an issue of the Tart Magazine. Loved the collection of recipes, food commentary and articles.

Tried the fig mascarpone tart and almond flat white. I love the tart but the coffee is way too hot. I enjoy sitting outside but the chair is not comfortable at all. Will come back to try other pastries and hot pies.

Creativity isn't always a plus. What I've seen done to donuts is part horror, part porn movie. No such dramas here. Along with the well made coffee, came an eggplant miso Danish that soared. The rest looked so good, I'll get on to flying back down for this as my first stop.

It's not worth coming at all! I ordered an Osaka-yaki toast with wooden fish flowers on the top floor, but when I tasted it, I found that the dish was cold. I didn't understand why there were wooden fish flowers on the cold dish. Moreover, tamakoyaki is also cold, and crab fillet is also cold. Why is a cold dish called Osaka-yaki? And the kitchen is far away from the lobby, even in another building. I'm not sure if the waiter is hygienic in serving food. After all, I can't see it and no one supervises it. I won't go there again.

Had a great brunch at Fuumi! The sandwich was delicious — fresh ingredients, well-balanced flavors, and satisfying without being too heavy. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed, perfect for a weekend brunch. Friendly service too. Would definitely come back to try more dishes!

Cute cafe in West Melbourne, with a variety of shokupan options. Great portion size for an affordable price. For food — we got the Ebi and egg sando, and pork katsu sando. Pork katsu was a bit tough but otherwise tasted fine. Bread may also be a bit much for people (who may not be huge on carbs) but we were happy with it; it was fluffy and not dense. Drinks — ordered a grapefruit americano & almond milk latte, which were good. Note: toilet is located behind their sliding “secret” door.

Out of many Japanese style cafes in Melbourne I really liked this one! The cafe actually makes you feel like in Japan with Japanese books and posters for decor, and the food was lovely. Both sweet and savoury options were great make sure you’re hungry when you go!

This Japanese cafe is a must try spot for foodies. I’m still trying to work through the menu. It’s hard to pick a favourite when the quality, flavour and presentation is so consistent. At first glimpse, the prices are above average but in relation to portion size, they are spot on. The servings are massive! Consider sharing if you are not starving or a big eater. Highly recommend this spot for anyone that want good food and drinks. The bakery section is amazing too!

The food was excellent, particularly the bread in both dishes (we got the Okonomiyaki Toast and Ton Katsu Sando). We also got a matcha latte which was okay. It was lukewarm when served and the matcha needed a good stir to get more flavour. In terms of the atmosphere, it had very pretty decor and easy ordering with a QR code menu. The service was good too, being greeted at the door, and food was served relatively quickly. Overall, I highly recommend it as a brunch place to visit!

Definitely the highlight of the Melbourne Cafes I visited during my trip there, everything about it gives off such a warm and relaxing feeling. Everything we ordered presentation-wise was immaculate but I wasn't super blown away with how my dish, although its a relatively minor complaint considering everything else went so well. We didn't get the chance to try it but they had plenty of shokupan and melon pan on display that all looked great if you still have some space in your stomach. (Photos taken about May 2023 so possibly outdated dishes)

This place is really popular, but it was just okay for me. We ordered two slices of cake — the premium matcha was rich and definitely my favourite. The cakes weren’t too sweet, which is good for those who prefer lighter flavours.

Average strawberry shortcake with a hefty price tag ($14 on weekday; surcharges apply - 10% on weekends, 15% on public holiday). Don’t get me wrong - it’s tasty. Has the potential to make a good strawberry shortcake with its light cream (cake moisture could be better). However, nothing outstanding. Won’t be returning for it with this price tag. Did not try other beverages. Overall - Cafe was bustling with decent line on a Monday afternoon (4pm). Cute atmosphere in the cafe but you’re on your own to scout for seats (only after you order at the counter). Lady at counter is cheerful and takes your order with a smile despite the snaking queue (keep it up!)

The best strawberry matcha I’ve had in Melbourne 🍓 I have a sweet tooth, so this might be too sweet for some and the other cabinet food was good. The service could be better - wasn’t asked it if I was dining in or takeaway and had to grab mini plates and wooden utensils myself. Though it makes sense because they are popular and have to work through long queues.

Unreal matcha drinks and patisserie! I highly recommend EVERYTHING if you are matcha OBSESSED! Sidenote — beware consuming too much high quality matcha in one sitting, in my experience, it can hinder and slow digestion.

A popular cafe in a small alleyway. Both cakes look so beautiful. The garlic bread is 10 out of 10. It was freshly baked and still warm when we ate it.

This Jap cafe near the CBD area is quite popular, drawing a queue even on weekdays. I had high hopes for authentic Jap beverages, but I was disappointed to find that their premixed matcha was sweet and the dessert was on the sweeter side. I was reassured it won’t be too sweet when I checked in before I placed my order. The experience was further marred by the poor service. The staff at the counter didn’t even bother to ask if my order was for dine-in or takeout; they simply assumed everyone wanted takeout. When I requested dine-in, I still received a takeout order. He made no efforts in assisting me to get a seat. The service was terrible, and with average food and drinks at a higher price tag, I would imagine it is hard to revisit or recommend this cafe. There is better matcha cafe in this city.

I looove Tori’s! I bring people here all the time and also come myself when I need a little break and a realllly good matcha! The cakes are so beautiful and delicious, you can watch the bakers in the kitchen from the seating areas. The matcha is all hand whisked with traditional whisks and matcha bowls. An iced matcha + a slice of cake is around $25 depending which kind you get (cake slices are around $14, iced oat matcha is $9-10 I think) but it’s such a nice cafe that it’s worth it to me! There is limited seating so come early in busy periods as can be hard to sit down! There will likely be a line out the door but it moves pretty fast. The staff are all lovely and have made an effort to remember my name as I come here a lot! The couches are comfy old seats that bring a real cosy homey feel. The air conditioning is amazing in here and perfect for a hot day! There’s also nice merchandise available to purchase and cute plants around! Highly recommend if you’re ever in the city ☺️

Excellent pastries, we had the tarte tartin which was just the right level of sweetness. The Coconut and Dulce de Leche bomb was wonderful, i was worried it would be too sweet but its a very subtle Dulce de Lece cream, lovely. Coffee was on point too.

Another nice cafe with lovely range of bread, croissants, tarts. Only tried the apple tart - sweetness was just right. It was a bit flaky yet dense. A slight burnt caramelised taste in the apples but the sweet cream on top blended well.

Very expensive bread compared to many other artisanal bakeries. The rosemary foccacia was the best I've ever had, soft, airy and not dry. Really nice bread, definitely one of the best quality breads of Melbourne.

To Be Frank Bakery has a rustic-modern charm that instantly makes you feel at ease. While the standard pastries are good, what really makes this place special are their unique creations. For me, the Mushroom + Stracciatella & Tarragon was surprisingly moreish, the Salami & Goat’s Cheese pastry had a perfect savoury balance, and the Apple Tarte Tatin was just delightful! It’s these inventive touches that set this bakery apart and would keep me coming back. A great spot if you’re after both comfort classics and something a little different!

Ordered an almond croissant and felt that the pastry was overdone - just a bit too brown and caramelised. The flavour overpowered the almond frangipane, which could’ve been stronger in my opinion.

EDIT: Their Kouigh Amann is something i go back to almost weekly! Get the Mango Cheesecake Bomb. It was lighter and a lot more refreshing than expected. Definitely the highlight. The carbonara Danish was good but wish it had more toppings. The double salami and cheese was damn good with very flavourful and identifiable fillings and the pickles definitely was a great choice. It really balanced the strong flavours. The fougasse was ok. Would like to try more.

The pastries are heavenly and rivals the best of Melbourne - think Lune, All Are Welcome etc. Each time I’ve been, we’ve ordered about 8-9 different pastries. They are in the true sense of the word, a proper boulangerie. But if I’m going to pay nearly $7 for a coffee, I don’t think it’s too much to expect a proper barista made coffee with a microfoam. The bean and roast itself is fine, perhaps I should have ordered a long black instead. Anyway. Their range of savoury laminated pastries is really impressive. They don’t just focus on the sweets. One of the coolest things about this bakery is their exposed back end and the super awesome 5 layered oven… oh and of course the graffiti. Little story here: I ordered two babyccinos, they’re usually served with a sweet treat like a marshmallow or cookie or something. They ran out of baby cups, fine. Served them in paper cups. Fine. Came without the sweet treat and their response was “oh I’m sorry if I had them I’d give them to you”. It’s like going for a Japanese meal and ordering a rice which typically comes with miso and saying “oh we don’t have or we’ve run out of miso, if I had some I’d give it to you”. This seems to be heading down the route of Melbourne establishments getting a bit too much up themselves and forgetting it’s the F&B / service industry. I hope it doesn’t. The boulangerie goods here are really bloody good. I’m giving it three stars but would’ve four if not for that coffee because the pastries.

We originally planned to go to Hector’s for sandwiches, but to our surprise, this store was still open after we finished our heavy lunch. I know Melbourne is famous for its matcha, but honestly, this is the best matcha I’ve ever had in the city — and I’ve tried plenty of matcha cafés around! You MUST try their matcha cookie , it’s sweet, but pairs perfectly with coffee. Simply amazing! We were served by Ray, thanks for his fun and friendly energy, make my day shines !

I got a malt matcha and it was divine. So good and such a unique flavour idea. I haven’t seen it anywhere else and it worked exceptionally well. The pandan cake I got was good but not mind blowing. Staff were very friendly and the location is super convenient. I’d grab a sandwhich from hectors next door but pop in here for the matcha and skip hectors coffee as this was way better.

I just loved the vibes here. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. I saw this spot when I was visiting Hector’s Deli upon my last visit to Melbourne and was always curious to try their sandwiches. Today I was finally able to! So glad I finally got to try it out. I saw another customer having a kaya toast set(?) which looked amazing! Maybe I’ll have to try that next time I’m visiting Melbourne. Aside from sandwiches, they also have amazing looking desserts, cookies & matcha drinks.

However it is very big and $12.5 so definitely should be shared. The buttercream was a bit clumpy, maybe because it was in the fridge for long. 💜🍰Ube Black Forest cake So so soft and fluffy. Tastes like ube with a bit of cherry jam in the middle. Not sour, sweet but not too sweet. I 🍵☕️Matcha, Hojicha we ordered hot, they were both strong and flavourful. 🌷🍵 Pink matcha This one on the other hand I wasn’t impressed, as I couldn’t really enjoy the matcha and the strawberry flavour. The combination didn’t work for me. Excited to try out new items next time.

I have tried Chicken sandwich twice and it was delicious & fresh each time. Also mung bean ang ku kueh was very tasty and delish. Staffs were very kind too.

Came here to do some work and grab a pick me up snack. Got the hojicha latte and peanut butter choc chip cookie. Felt it was a bit pricey to get a cake slice as well. The cookie was yummy, i liked the peanut crunches. The latte was standard. The store had a creative fair. The service was standard. I had wish they had provided a napkin with the cookie.

First came across them looking for birthday cakes in Melbourne. Interesting options! Very unique combinations with popular Asian dessert flavours. Cabinet food is also very special, cute cake options that look delectable. Flavour combos however will not be for everyone and your stomach might not agree with what the eyes see. Tried their sesame match cake - interesting savoury tasting cake leaving a bit of umami on the tastebuds that I didn’t quite expect. I personally love trying odd combos so was open to the flavour mash.

Went in on a Saturday with croissants in mind, but intrigue got the better of me and I opted from a sogum pan (Korean salt bread). This was my first time trying, but I've seen this type of bread grow in popularity so have been seeking one out to try for a while. Not knowing what to expect, I took a bite and it was delicious! The outside is crispy with a good amount (but not overpowering) of salt flakes) and the inside is soft and very buttery. For me tastes it was a little too buttery and I couldn't finish it in one sitting, but I feel like that wouldn't be an issue for most! On a previous visit I almost bought a milk bread bun/roll thing (it was only $1.50 too!) and it was delicious. Super soft and had a nostalgic feeling to it. I'll be back!

Falco Bakery has undeniably lovely pastries and the coffee was spectacular — one of the best I’ve had in a while. The service, though, felt a little disinterested and cold, which made the experience less warm than I’d hoped. Maybe I just don’t have the required hipster cred to blend in (which is fair enough, and Christ I wish I had that kind of rizz haha!), but it did leave me a touch uncomfortable. Still, worth visiting for the quality of the baked goods and coffee.

Nice range of croissants here. Flaky, light croissant with ham and cheese. It’s nicely baked, brown but not burnt.

We actually walked pass already but because of long queue, we changed our mind to give Falco a try and OMG! We made a right decision! We got last almond croissant, it's so flaky (just right flaky level, not too hard)and filling is not too sweet. We feel lucky that we gave it a try. Definitely will visit again when come to Smith St.

Had the Rockwell pie which was quite tasty. It did however cause confusion for my tastebuds. Worth a try if you’re in the mood for a cheeseburger but your only option is cheeseburger in pie form

Ordered the Rockwell pie, sausage roll, and a long black. The sausage roll was beautifully flaky, and the meat was juicy and quality, but the ratio was off - too much meat, and way too much fennel in the pork. Coffee average. The Rockwell pie, however, was a slam dunk. From the crispy, flaky exterior to the rich and decadent filling of cheese, beef, onion, mustard (and something else i missed). Will return to try something else based on the pie alone.

Found this place on Google and thought about trying it. Peanut and salt caramel tart is a must-try. So good, not heavy at all. Coffee is great and service amazing too. You guys give this place a go and try the PB and miso cookie, delicious!!!

I came here after reading glowing reviews for the croissants. I live in France part of the year so I was missing a proper croissant. 5* for the staff's attentiveness and friendliness. 5* for such a cute storefront. 3* Sadly, I was a bit disappointed with the croissants as I found them heavy and not crispy enough. The inside is too dense and chewy. A great croissant should be light, feather-like and with a c.risp, flaky crust 4* for the baguette. It's almost perfect but found the inside a little too dense (not enough holes when cut open). 3,5* for the pain chocolate, almost the same issues as the croissants. In the end, it's difficult to find good French bread outside of France. Rye & Dough gives a very good effort.

Went recently and things are not what they used to be here. My wife ordered a large coffee but was given a smaller one. When she queried this the staff member just said "Well, you weren't charged for a larger one" and walked off. Worst was to come however, as the coffee was very weak, one of the weakest we have ever tasted. No menu anymore and less outdoor seating too. Food is ok, but nothing special.

One of the best almond croissants in Melbourne. Such an underrated bakery, and I wish I tried it sooner. Rye & Dough is an artisan bakery that specialise in exactly what their shop name says, including croissants, danishes, pies, sausage rolls and plenty of loaves. Had to grab their most popular, the almond croissant. Phenomenal. The pastry itself was super buttery, flaky and airy. The filling inside was even better. It was a mix between your traditional almond frangipane with the most heavenly custardy centre, with a hint of spice which is up my alley. And for only $6, probably the best value for an exceptional almond croissant. Food: 4.75 Value: 5 Ambience: 4 Service: 4

BEST flat white I had in Melbourne! Can taste the balance in the coffee and the foam is perfectly smooth. Nice place with fantastic barista at a great location. It’s definitely a cafe that you can’t miss!

I ordered a tiramisu flavoured gluten free Tall, Dark & Handsome cake for my husband's birthday, and it was perfect. It was so delicious, not too sweet and didn't crumble like many gluten free cakes tend to do. Wow! Madie and the team at Mad About Cakes are spectacular to deal with. I picked up 72 cupcakes for my 30th birthday party in 3 different flavours and they were all absolutely divine!!!! Mad About Cakes created a stunning cake for our celebration, perfectly capturing the Enchanted Fairy Pink Jungle Safari theme. The jam donut flavour was just as delightful as the design ,truly the perfect centrepiece for the day.

We were looking for a gluten free cake that didn’t taste gluten free and Madie absolutely nailed it! Not only did it taste so good that people didn’t know it was gluten free, but it also looked gorgeous. Madie was able to nail the brief and give us exactly what we wanted.

Finding beautiful, delicious and reasonably priced GF things is so hard but these GF choc unicorn cupcakes I ordered from Mad About Cakes... absolutely 10/10 - everyone at my 30th said they looked and tasted amazing. Madie was also lovely and easy to communicate with. cant wait to order again!

Mad about cakes made out daughters 2nd bday cake and they did such an excellent job. They exceeded our expectations. We had a vision of a Barbie cake and a photo from Pinterest and she made the exact cake! Absolutely Perfect! We had one short consultation at their shop and they were so lovely and just gave us exactly what we asked for. We appreciate that sooo much. Just being able to explain what we wanted and have it made exactly as we imagined it. Thank you so much! The flavour of the cake was delicious too, we had some great feedback from our guests. The Cupcake Queens Pros: 👧Lovely staff, helpful and friendly. 🍰 There is an assortment of cakes, something to satisfy every sweet tooth here. The vegan cupcakes were fluffy, light, and full of flavour. 🗺 I love the location, it feels like a beautiful alley in Italy . Cons: 💰 It’s a bit pricey, I paid approx $4 per cupcake.

Very happy with their service. I ordered online a Purple pastel cake just 2 days before, for my husband's birthday (even got a 10% discount code emailed to me). I was able to collect it on time and it looked exactly as the picture and tasted very good. The shop is cute and is at a very convenient location. The staff is also very friendly. Highly recommend.

The quality here is absolutely incredible! They do such good coffee and GREAT chai, and the customer service is always so lovely. Definitely a local favourite for hot drinks and baked treats.

I wish I had checked the Google reviews first. Absolutely terrible cake! Go to Europa instead. Lumpy vanilla slice, tasted artificial. Apple crumble was solid jelly, crumble not buttery. Air-conditioning in the bakery also weak. On hot summer days, like today, the display cakes are not cooled enough. Servers were nice but the food is so awful, deserves no stars. However, they gave us our money back as we gave them our feedback but would discourage anyone from wasting their money on cake here.

Worst vanilla slice I’ve had the horror of trying in all my years of living. They had the audacity to charge 7.50 for a clumpy piece of crap with stale cardboard base. My friend who has lived in St Kilda almost 20 years advised me to stay away yet I didn’t listen. This has been the biggest regret of my adult life.

The food looks amazing in the store-front window. Unfortunately, it looks much better than it tastes and my whole group was thoroughly disappointed. The only item we completed were the milkshakes, and even those were only okay - the mango one specifically had no hints of mango at all. My friend got her favourite cake - the Black Forest cake. She could only have two bites before giving up on it. My other friend and I both got different cheesecakes, which were both dry and lacking any flavour. The almond shortbread and nougat log were fine, but left plenty to be desired. We didn’t finish any of the food items. The service was nice and it’s a nice little shop. However, the food was not great and that’s what I base my review on. We all have a sweet tooth but, unfortunately, cannot recommend anyone try this place.

Nice looking cakes but don’t be deceived, they are old, stale and dry. Tastes old and too sweet. I don’t know how long the cakes have been standing outside in the window. Waste of $7.50. You have been warned. I would like to know what “fresh” means - how long do they stay in the window? There’s so many cakes I don’t believe you sell out. Probably there for weeks and weeks. Gross

Quaint, really nice place to eat cakes and have a coffee, best coffee I’ve had in a long time! We come here frequently! It seems some people are intentionally trying to leave negative reviews which is a shame, great cake / coffee shop especially for being open until super super late!

Staff was polite and helpful. There's both indoor and outdoor seating and you can bring little fur friends along. Prices of cakes were within the standard range. There is a large range of varieties. However, all the cakes that I have tried were too sweet. Even my friend who had a sweet tooth, find it too much to take in. The gluten free carrot cake was a bit dry. Overall, did not enjoyed my afternoon tea.

Food is delicious. It takes while to get served with only 2 people serving and making coffee, and lots of customers. Pigeons hanging around outside are a little off-putting.

From the moment I walked in, the customer service was shockingly bad. The girl at the counter acted like she couldn’t be bothered to serve us—barely making eye contact and looking visibly annoyed as I tried to order politely. I should’ve left right then, but the display looked tempting. Big mistake & please don’t be deceived by their bakery goods looks !! 😒 The *cookie dough cake* was inedible—just a brick of sugar with no flavor balance. The *lemon meringue tart* was mediocre at best (soft, stale crust, like it’d been sitting for days), and the *hot chocolate* was generic, nothing special. For the prices they charge, I expected far better. The 5-star reviews baffle me—either standards have plummeted, or we got unlucky. Either way, don’t waste your time or money. Plenty of better bakeries in Melbourne!

The shop is pretty small. The cakes were fine but the tiramisu wasn’t tasty, its not like traditional tiramisu, we couldn’t finish it. There is no bathroom. The nearest restroom is a public bathroom outside. The service was pretty slow and it was pretty empty in the shop.

Europa is my favourite little cafe on Acland street. Fantastic selection of delicious vegan, gluten free cakes and all the others. They also have very friendly staff-and if you happen to catch the owner, Nick-you’ll most likely have a good laugh to boot!

I bought two cake slices from Europa Cake Shop today, and I’m really disappointed with the quality. My partner had one slice and ended up with an upset stomach for the rest of the evening. I still gave mine a try (cos I love the shop and it’s atmosphere), and within the first two bites, I could tell the cake was old. It had that clear “stale” taste and texture that you get when something’s been sitting out too long. I genuinely hope the shop takes better care of their products — freshness and quality should always be a priority, especially when it comes to food.

Ordered a black Forrest cake for a birthday. I kid you not it smells like acetone and when you take a bite, the acetone-like smell literally occupies your entire mouth, throat and nasal passage that it literally makes you spit it out and knock the wind out of your lungs. Guys what is happening back there? This genuinely smells and tastes like nail polish remover and makes me wonder whether I have to call poison control. We couldn't even swallow a bite because it's worrying. This was bought and eaten the day of this review.

We hadn't visited for a while and thought we'd give it another go. Disappointed with our hot chocolate which was luke warm. Lemon tart which had no lemon taste and an Oreo choc cake which tasted mass produced and stale. Don't be fooled by the amazing display. Inside feels dirty and unloved. Heading to Oakleigh for a decent Melbourne cake next time.

Avoid this place! I purchased this $45 chocolate cake expecting a quality dessert, but it was a huge letdown. The cake was soaked in alcohol to the point that it was inedible — not just because of the alcohol, but also due to the unpleasant texture and overall bad taste. It didn’t resemble a proper chocolate cake at all. What made it worse is that the seller didn’t mention it contained alcohol, even though they clearly saw we were with children at the time of purchase. This should have been clearly disclosed, as it’s important for families and those who avoid alcohol. Unfortunately, the whole cake ended up in the bin. A complete waste of $45. I hope the seller is more transparent in the future.

Bought this passionfruit tart to take away. I wish I had checked it before leaving the shop. Dry, hard and inedible. The girls working there were not interested at all in serving. I asked a couple of questions about a couple of the other cakes in the window and she just replied with a shrug. Nobody else in the shop and I had to ask to be served.

Food tasted absolutely awful. Irish Coffee Cake is cloyingly sweet and soaked in unidentifiable liquid. Cheesecake does not taste like cheese or cake. Eclaire tastes like burnt cardboard with whipped cream in between and chocolate on top, but was somehow the best one amongst these three which speaks volumes to the utter disgust the cakes instilled in us. -5/5, belongs in Hell's Kitchen.

<They sell spoiled food> I should have read the reviews before visiting. I bought a tiramisu here. When I got home and tried it, I was shocked. The tiramisu cream was spoiled and had a sour taste. I was so confused that I had to search online “Australia tiramisu cream sour” wondering if all tiramisu in Australia tastes like this. The cream on top was hard and solidified, and the cream in the middle was clearly spoiled. The sponge cake didn’t absorb the coffee properly and tasted like pound cake. I really hope everyone reads this review and doesn’t visit this place. There are so many bakeries on the street, please visit somewhere else instead. Worst experience ever. Not even worth 1 star.

First time visitors to this place - the front windows looked fabulous, eye catchy, full, bright and makes you want one of the sweet treats. $44 for one chocolate eclairs and cherry struddle. wow... should have hopped online and read google reviews first... but old school and don't do that. Just reading all the comments before posting this. Purchased one chocolate eclair and cherry struddle for take away. Chocolate eclair - well shoe pastry is easy to make ... cooking it lol 😆 it had obviously been in the oven way too long and should not have been served! stage before burnt! cream was bolix, full of sugar. Puts this place for a chocolate eclairs as one of the worst places for one. Cherry pie - well we did not know this until we got home to re heat it, the base was overcooked and no flavour. straddles we have had in many country's but it was very sad. Will not buy from these guys again ... save ya $ and make one at home.

Drink was fine. The Nutella slice was awful, sickly sweet. Did not taste of Nutella. Can’t finish it due to the sickly sweet taste of just sugar and weird cream. Why call it a Nutella slice when it doesn’t taste anything like it? Feel sorry for the worker. She is doing her best. She made a nice drink. $15 for a small slice and chai… not impressed. Should’ve figured only 1 person during busy lunch time trade is a red flag and regret not checking the reviews here first!

I bought some cakes and tarts from this place, and the taste was absolutely awful, really inedible. I asked the server when they had been made and how long they had been sitting in the display, and she told me she didn’t know. I then asked how she could be sure the cakes were still good, and she replied, “Are you part of the sanitary department?” basically brushing me off. I find this attitude completely unacceptable, both in terms of hygiene and customer service. Very disappointing experience. I definitely do not recommend this place to other customers.

Had the Israeli Big Breakfast. It was delicious though please... why no butter on the toast? It makes the eggs awfully dry. And please, no preference was offered about how the eggs were cooked. Service felt clunky and it took ages for the food to come, even though the cafe section wasn't busy. The coffee took even longer. I think I'll just stick to what you do best, and that's your great bakery. To have a cafe, you need to know how to communicated with diners more effectively.

An institution in the area and a fine example of Jewish bakery. I m blessed to have tasted what is wonderful way of first boiled then baked of what is a bagel and truly a fine way to enjoy the different flour. We had a caraway bagel, a garlic, an onion and blueberry bagel. Kids loved it and well seasoned and flavoured, they even have a fully filled sandwich bagel. This is a must try in the area.

Really bad customer service this morning my partner dropped by to collect some food this afternoon from good to go app but they didn't have any record of the order . She has already paid for it but the woman at the counter treated her so rude like my partner was trying to steal something... She literally threw it over the counter really aggressively saying " just take it " I would highly recommend to train your staff they need a few classes of customer service.( Reminder doesn't matter what what sell but your staff has the responsibility to build a good image. Stay away from this place .

The moment you walk in, you're greeted by the sight of two frozen drinks machines which look like they haven't been cleaned in years. Full of black mould, grey matter and generally gross substances... If this is an indicator of the food safety standards, I'd recommend staying far away from this cafe.

This 1 star is purely on the basis of the bagel filling which was so disappointing! I got two bagels - salmon and cream cheese and a melted cheese - the fillings were so thin as to barely be able to taste it and the melted cheese bagel was crushed in a sandwich press rather than a grill so you’re left with a bagel frisbee slightly glued together with cheap cheese. I love bagels and haven’t been to Glicks in a while and based on today’s experience, I won’t be going back - 20 years ago, Glicks was the only decent place to get a bagel but that’s not the case anymore!

Didn't want a bar of me after my TGTG order was cancelled and offered to buy something anyway. Not sure why you then made me stand there waiting to be acknowledged. Then you got my order wrong. Must have been a long day. I can't describe what I've got here 🤷‍♂️

Used to really enjoy coming here for a quick bagel. I’ve noticed they’re really inconsistent with their pricing and have no prices visible. On one instance I have paid $2.50 for a bagel and another time $5.00 which is really upsetting given how much of a fan I was. Staff are super rude and dismissive, coffee not great. Won’t be returning.

Cakes galore, Need to find a cake in Elwood - this place will have almost every type of cake. Coffee - average, bread good but had better. Inside the shop is very tight, we had Pavlova cake, it was good but needed more merengue on top.

All three of us agreed that this place has really nice coffee, and the cookie and vanilla slice were both exceptionally good. Great location, plenty of out door seating. As good, as last time, just got the almond latte this time, and shares half a yo-yo

They do have a large selection and I’m sure there are some quality items here, but the almond croissant was not a croissant. I’d call it an almond cake. Too sweet, no puff, very doughy. It if was advertised as an almond cake maybe it would clear things up. Don’t go here for an almond croissant but for other items, I’ll give them another go :)

Cool place with lots of yummy options at reasonable price. Outdoor heater works well in cold conditions. It wouldn't hurt to smile upon service. Felt like we were a nuisance after we spent $50+ on many goodies.

This is my friend reco patisserie, we tried mixed berry it has jelly and cream inside crunchy outside, victoria sponge cake, lemon tart has little chocolate inside.

Awesome vibe here with a variety of bakery, desserts, breads, and good coffee. I had coffee and a nut dessert today. I mostly enjoyed the community vibe here and could imagine ppl come here as a child, hubby, father, and grandpa. Of course, women too but I would say children and men crave a shop like this, right?

No leeks in the chicken and leek pie, broccoli instead, nothing that a generous handful of pepper won't disguise, also sold me an out of date juice (by 3 weeks). Staff doesn't seem to give a crap. They looked totally lost and then sniggered when I told them people could get sick from out of date products.

I immensely enjoy my coffee and when an experienced establishment like Laurent can perfect it , look no further. Excellent long black coffee, scrumptious fresh berry danish. There are amazingly friendly and accommodating service; I’ve been to this location twice and endeavour to return.

Both the Almond Latte and Skinny Latte tasted quite milky, lacking strong coffee flavour. The Guido (lemon sponge layered with creamy vanilla mascarpone mousse. Topped with an apple yuzu brunoise compote and pecan cinnamon crunch) was just average, not particularly special and we didn’t taste the pecan cinnamon crunch at all. This is a gorgeous cafe with amazing baked goods and attentive service. I've heard a lot about Laurent from my friends and it did not disappoint. The little tea cakes were so immaculately presented, the breads and pastries looked delightful, and the overall ambience with the marble and soft lighting was so inviting. We had a relaxing little afternoon tea and enjoyed the simplicity of the experience. Even though they were so busy, it still felt like a special treat and we were given due attention and excellent service. Can't recommend this cafe highly enough.

I ordered the Le Lal, but I was served the L’hiver Lal instead (there is a clear difference from the photos). When I asked the waiter if there had been a mix-up, they told me that there’s now a new recipe where the mango and cinnamon are combined?? please do clarify atmosphere was great, but i also found myself being ignored by the waiters too

This is a really cute patisserie, but I was extremely disappointed and embarrassed when I went to pay, only to be told they don't accept cash! Really sad to see, especially when you think of how many elderly prefer to use cash? Isn't cash legal tender? Not a great business decision 😕

Delicious French bread and pastries. The lunch sandwiches, baguettes etc are pre-made so you choose from what is available ... staff are very happy to provide guidance but not able to make an order to special dietary requirements... That's very French, you choose from what is on offer.

Great service, great food and always a pleasure to deal with the employees. Coffee is always on point and cakes are delicious.

My FAVOURITE. The Riga Rye is so so good, with caraway and apple juice (Yes. It's so good). The bagels and pretzels are also delicious. I could spend *a lot* of money here. The staff are all super friendly too.

I bough a cheese cake from them yesterday. It was moulded !!! I just noticed this morning!!! My friend bought the same cake, same size yesterday for $13 and they sold this to me for $25 and moulded. Don’t buy here The owner replied down there. On the day I bought the cake it was not weighted. It was a lady with light hair in her 50s or 60s who sold me the cake. She took the cake, game it to me and said $25. No weighting. There was a male customer before me as well as a group of teenagers. My friend told me she bought it for $13. I cut the cake my friend bought at her place that afternoon. It was the same size. Her cake was shared by the 7 of us and had some leftover. My partner love the cake so I asked my friend for the address and I went to buy the cake around 5pm on Saturday. It was moulded. I wish I took a photo of the mould. I ate the moulded cake and we throw the rest of it out. This is a photo when I weight the cake (after I read some reviews, people said the cake should be weighted). There were many mould spots on the cake. I really wish I took a photo before I throw it out!! I was vomiting. I ate it first and my partner saw the mould. We both sure it was mould. Attached my bank transaction as a proof of purchase.

We absolutely destroyed this zebra cake. Dense, moist and tasty as fffudge. The lovely person there recommended it, as my daughter said she really wanted a chocolate cake. They nailed that recommendation harder than I nailed your dad. 11/10

When I asked how fresh are the beigels, the saleslady responded "today's" - it was after the lunch time on Monday. I purchased a few and regret now - they obviously were baked a couple days ago at least, so very dry and hard. Can't trust in what they say anymore

All of their breads are consistently made with excellent quality. Highly recommend trying the Napoleon cake, absolutely delicious and a must try.

I have never liked rye bread until I ate rye bread from here. This one is amazing. ...All the goods were tasty

Ordered the Steak sandwich. Meal was accompanied with some French fries and sauce. Food: Steak sandwich. Mixed review as the baguette and sauce was fresh and tasty. The steak was a little tough. 3/5 Service: waitress and staff were friendly and polite. Felt very welcomed. 5/5 Cleanliness : spotless. 5/5 Overall experience: The Steak sandwich was a bit of a let down. I woul prefer for the Steak to be thinly sliced and layered in the baguette. The French fres were absolutely amazing. I will return again to try the rest of the menu.

Half a sandwich for $18, very average chicken, egg mayo combo. No flavour, and small portion. Disappointing considering the price! Staff are lovely though. Thanks Neds for your speedy response! The sandwich was actually named “club sandwich” and was takeaway - so I did not have the opportunity to address the sub-par quality/quantity with the staff 😊

I'm pretty fussy when it comes to food. I'd give a 6 out of 5 for the quality, flavour and value of the green salad with poached egg if possible. Service was fast and friendly. The only downfall is the raised standard I am now expecting when I dine in other venues.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Had an amazing experience at Ned’s Café! ☕🍳🥑 We ordered a bunch of dishes off the menu – the Tarragon Mushrooms were absolutely outstanding 🤩, along with the Avocado on Toast 🥑, Chilli Scramble 🌶️🍳, and the Big Breakfast 🍴. All delicious and cooked perfectly. I also grabbed a Chicken & Avocado Sandwich 🥪 from the cabinet which was excellent, and we couldn’t resist the Cinnamon Scroll 🍥 – so yummy! On top of the food, the staff were super friendly and welcoming 😊👏. Highly recommend this spot
