Cocktail bar
Gen Yamamoto is a unique cocktail bar in Azabu-Juban, offering an intimate omakase-style experience with one man tending to eight seats. The menu features meticulously crafted cocktails made from locally sourced fruits and vegetables, such as hassaku citrus paired with Marc de Champagne and kiwi with soju and matcha. Each drink is stirred and measured by eye, then served in exquisite glassware alongside carefully selected flowers.
Amazing experience well worth the time. If you love cocktails this is like the top tier sushi bar equivalent where everything is hand crafted in front of you with the same level of skill and care. Great to experience with up to 8 people.
Scott — Google review
This place might not be for everyone, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. And reservation was easy, even though I live in Europe. If you want traditional cocktails - this isn't a place for you. But if you are looking for something new and special - you should definitely visit Gen Yamamoto. The cocktails were great, albeit unorthodox, and the barman was nice and professional. At first, I wanted to try 4-5 cocktails. But every drink was something special and every time I heard the ingredients I couldn't believe that this drink would taste good. But every time I was proven wrong. So I decided to go until the end - to the 7th cocktail. And it was the best of them all. Just some of the ingredients that were used: mashed potatoes, wasabi with pineapple, garlic brandy. One of the best drinking experiences in my life.
Felix M — Google review
Gen Yamamoto was a very unique cocktail experience. You have the option of choosing 4, 5 or 7 courses. 7 is a cool 10,000 yen. Yamamoto-san speaks English quite well and provides a course by course description similar to dishes being brought out from the kitchen at a Michelin restaurant. Every cocktail is prepared in plain sight as you would see at an omakase sushi restaurant. Nearly every cocktail is a blend of fruit or vegetables and one spirit. Yamamoto-san used Finnish whiskey in two of the cocktails, as well as sochu and brandy. My favorite was the tomato, lemon juice and whiskey blend. The smoky whiskey and fresh tomato juice complimented each other harmoniously. I’m trying to recreate it at home and the tomato jam seems to be the one missing element. You need to make a reservation over the phone starting from a week out. I asked my hotel concierge to call but Yamamoto-san requested to speak with my directly since he speaks English. There were two tourists from China and one from New York. Neither party stayed for all 7 courses, so I was the last one there. I will say that some of the reviews complaining about the lack of spirits used are valid. Yamamoto-san uses less than a shot of alcohol per cocktail so you end up getting more fruit and vegetable juice than a bonafide cocktail. That said, I still enjoyed the creativity behind each cocktail and left inspired but still needing more drinks. So I wandered into the neighborhood to find Bar Melt, which is a new bar with patrons smoking houkas but quality cocktails that have considerably more alcohol in them. Bar Centifolia is less than a block away from Bar Yamamoto but was closed that night. Tokyo Confidential is also very close by. Here are my tasting notes in the order that they were served: 1 - Yuzu and Sochu 2 - Strawberries and Daikon / Sochu 3 - Kiwi/Marc Grappier Brandy made from Pinot noir 4 - Soy Milk / Fava Beans / Palo Single Malt Whiskey from Finland 5 - Pineapple / Japanese Whiskey 6 - 🍅 Tomato/Lemon/Tomato Jam/ Benromach Whiskey 7 - Quince / Wasabi / Kyro Finnish whiskey
Danny ( — Google review
Gen Yamamoto is one of my favorite bars in Tokyo. It’s not your typical bar—you won’t find a Negroni or an Old Fashioned here. Instead, the experience is curated through a tasting menu of 4, 6, or 7 cocktails, each crafted with seasonal ingredients and a special selection of spirits. Every glass is a piece of art. The cocktails are delicate, precise, and thoughtful—you won’t get drunk here, but you’ll leave with a lasting impression. I recently visited and had a brief chat with Yamamoto-san, who told me the bar has now been around for 12 years. I don’t even remember when I first visited, but every time I return, it feels just as special. His glassware and ceramic cups are always stunning, and though I’ve always been curious about what happens to the old cups when he changes the menu, he never sells them. My favorite cocktails are always the ones with tomato. Typically, when you ask for a tomato-based cocktail, you get something resembling a Bloody Mary—but not here. Yamamoto’s tomato cocktails are unlike anything else, layered with such unique and unexpected flavors. The menu evolves with the seasons—summer brings brighter, more acidic drinks, while winter offers starchier, even warm cocktails. Every visit is a surprise, and every time I bring someone new, it becomes a one-of-a-kind memory for their trip. Even after 12 years, Yamamoto-san hasn’t lost his touch. His craft hasn’t declined—in fact, he continues to create and innovate, making each visit as special as the last. If you're looking for a cocktail experience that goes beyond just drinking, this is the place. Don't expect to get drunk. This is not a place for alcoholic beverages. Always make a reservation.
Season C — Google review
I wish I knew in advance how bad the place is, so I would not waste my time calling for a reservation but also pay all this money for juice served as a shot! Nice atmosphere, but these is not an alcohol tasting experience! There are way better bars in Japan!!!! BIG NO from me!!
Eleftheria ( — Google review
Well crafted cocktails made with seasonal ingredients and the utmost care. You can choose 4-7 cocktails (don’t worry, all of them are quite small) husband and I each had 6 and honestly could have done 7. Everything we had was delicious and interesting. Gen Yamamoto takes great pride in what he does and it shows. While stoic and serious about his craft, he is also welcoming and is happy to answer any questions you have. Highly recommend that you make a reservation here for a unique omakase cocktail experience. FYI no food, just cocktails. My only complaint was that it was very quiet. Could have used some music.
Gabrielle K — Google review
A minimalistic experience with a host that makes you feel right at home. The drinks were simple and seasonal. They had between 2-3 ingredients. So each flavour was clear and easy to recognize. We went with 6 drinks and I only disliked one of them. The rest were really great. The atmosphere was relaxed and Gen was kind and welcoming. It is a great drink omakase experience.
Emil F — Google review
I will never forget the kindness and humility of a person who is so capable of treating his ingredients with so much care and attention. Calling his beverages “juice” would be like calling miso soup “soybean water” — such reviewers have missed the idea. A week later I am still stuck by how understated such a special environment was.

TOKYO Whisky Library is a sophisticated and elegant lounge located in the heart of Omotesando. The opulent space features brick walls, dark wood, plush sofas, and multiple chandeliers, creating a luxurious ambiance. With over 1,000 international varieties displayed on backlit library shelves, it offers an exceptional introduction to the world of whisky. Renowned mixologist Michito Kaneko crafts exquisite cocktails based on classics like the Old Fashioned.
July 24, 2025 Spectacular ambience with whisky stacked up from floor to ceiling like a real library. The moment I entered the bar, I was dazzled by bright chandeliers and the gorgeous interior. Since my companion and I were not in the mood for strong, straight whisky, we opted for whisky cocktails and we were just as pleased. I got a vanilla velvet and he got a honey old fashioned. The vanilla one was light and airy, while the old fashioned tasted stronger with a honey aftertaste. Drinks are between ¥1,800-2,100 for a cocktail after tax. The menu comes in as a catalogue with so many varieties of whisky and lots of explanation in English and Japanese. Be prepared to be overwhelmed with so many choices. Got seated almost immediately as 2 people for a table at 9:30pm on a Thursday night. Prompt and very polite service. Truly a premium experience.

We had an amazing dinner here, with exceptional service for the whisky tasting. Excellent for a special occasion & for whisky lovers! Delicious cocktails and many unique and rare bottles made for a truly one-of-a-kind evening!
C B — Google review
This place is absolutely beautiful. However wonderful the ambience, the drinks were not as good as expected. There is no doubt there is a wide wide variety of whiskey however we enjoy cocktails. We enjoy very Spirit forward cocktails and our drinks were nothing special in spite of the hype and price. Two of us had the pasta of day and both of us found it very dry, but we ask for extra olive oil on the side and that made it edible. Definitely do not recommend their fish and chips as that was very disappointing.
Lori T — Google review
The service was amazing. The bartender was very knowledgeable on the flight I selected and highlighted tasting notes of each of the whiskeys. Additionally, I tried the Shinano Gold fashion cocktail…think Apple forward old fashion. It was absolutely delicious ands comes highly recommended

This is a lovely little whisky bar with attentive staff and a great range of whisky. We went for the Japanese whisky and high quality food with it. I would recommend it to anyone who is keen about their whisky.
Fiona — Google review
Didn't have food so can't rate the food. Overall, the atmosphere was relaxing and a tremendous range of whisky's. This place is on my bucket list and definitely did not disappoint. Thr bartender was knowledgeable - said slightly peatty and must be Japanese. He got it straight away. A must go place if you're a whisky lover! And no... I didn't get the hikibi 30.... ,,😔
David L — Google review
Unquestionably the best selection of whisky, with the best service, and the best atmosphere I've ever experienced. Highly knowledgeable, skilled, and kind staff. Recommendations from their staff of rare bottles were absolutely fantastic and beyond all expectations. Pricing on most pours were extremely generous given the rarity of the bottles. I wish I could give it 10 stars out of 5.

If you have any interest in whisky then this is a must visit location when in Tokyo. The library is hidden on the second floor of the Santa Chiara Church in Minato-Aoyama. I’ve been on numerous occasion over the years and the library of whiskies from all over the world available just keeps getting better. New, rare, collectible or made specially for the TWL .. everything is up for tasting .. at a price . For those that want to try a range from famous distillers there are a good selection of whisky flights The food menu is also is of good quality in both its variety and quality. Nothing to match their whisky selection but much more than a bar menu. The service is top notch whether you are local or speak only English. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to anyone who has a few hours to spare in Tokyo!

High Five is a renowned cocktail bar located in Tokyo's upscale Ginza district, attracting cocktail enthusiasts from around the world. The intimate space is famous for its extensive collection of spirits and ingredients, allowing the skilled bartenders to craft personalized drinks for each guest without a menu. The bar's owner, Hidetsugu Ueno, is a legendary figure in the industry and known for his precision and service.
Amazing cocktails, atmosphere (very cosy) and the service staff are incredibly friendly! Will suggest getting there shortly after they open to secure a seat as it is a rather small bar. Along with the classics, the mixologists here can create drinks from your tastes, or just simple ideas you have, and through their amazing imagination will present you with something delicious! A must visit if you are in Tokyo!
Connor D — Google review
Speakeasy cocktail bar in the basement, no menu no prices, bespoke cocktails which range from 1600 to 1800 per drink. There is a cover charge of 1000 per person but they do serve light snacks 'free'. The service was excellent, attentive. And they consistently replenished our ice water and snacks. It's a small space only around 18 seats so come early around 8pm as it does get full by 10pm
Jeen N — Google review
Excellent bar atmosphere, friendly staff, good and balanced cocktails. Both cocktails I orders are wonderful, one of the best. They even age the whisky before serving. Highly recommended.
Mr. A — Google review
I had a fantastic experience at this bar. The service was exceptional. I asked for a drink that was fruity, spicy, and sweet. I explained that I was open to anything from tropical to citrus. My server, Joseph, absolutely nailed it. He brought me a white peach-flavored cocktail with San Rojo that added the spice I was looking for. The combination was balances and better than I imagined. The bartenders here clearly know their craft. They don’t just follow recipes; they tailor drinks to match what customers actually want. Joseph made the whole visit even better. He was extremely friendly, respectful, and attentive. He also kept the bar snacks coming, which I really appreciated. There was a great variety of bar snacks at this place. This is the kind of bar where the service and attention to detail make the experience memorable. I highly recommend visiting this bar if you are in the Ginza area!

High Five is one of the most reputable bars in the world, as part of the Best 50 Bar Awards, and led by Hidetsugu Ueno. I need to start by saying that I love the place - it's a kind of hidden, dark, small, and grand spot all at the same time. The rules are very clear, as stated by the bar, and I appreciate that. However, the drinking experience was just okay, nothing special to be honest. The feeling, though, was chaotic - the bar seemed to be without a manager or anyone in charge, staff were discussing billing issues in front of customers, and there was very poor professionalism from the young international team, who seemed to be in training without a trainer, likely due to the owner's absence. Sadly, we won't be back.
Hao C — Google review
The cocktails were amazing quality. Also Kristen was superb and so sweet. She welcomed us in and made sure we were fine all night long. She’s very sweet and chatty, which made us feel very welcomed. I’d go back just because of her!
Lidia G — Google review
We had a wonderful time at Bar High Five! The night we were there, there were several bartenders from all over the world training as part of an international internship program. They were all fantastic! They ask you questions about what you like to drink, then relay this to the woman who makes the drinks and has been bartending there for 17 years. The drinks were delicious and the interactions with the staff were great! It was the perfect final night for our stay in Tokyo.

Restaurant
L’Effervescence is a renowned two-Michelin-starred restaurant in Japan, currently ranked 26th on Asia's 50 Best Restaurants list. Chef Shinobu Namae combines French culinary techniques with fresh Japanese ingredients to create inventive dishes with philosophical titles reflecting his commitment to nature and the environment.
L’Effervescence is an extraordinary dining experience! This three-Michelin-starred restaurant masterfully blends Japanese precision with French elegance, creating dishes that are both innovative and deeply rooted in seasonal flavors. Every course is a testament to the chef’s artistry, showcasing beautifully composed plates with the finest farm-to-table ingredients. The flavors are delicate yet bold, with a perfect balance of tradition and modern creativity. The service is impeccable—gracious, knowledgeable, and perfectly attentive without being intrusive. From start to finish, L’Effervescence delivers a truly unforgettable culinary journey. A must-visit for anyone seeking world-class dining in Tokyo!

First time at a 3-star restaurant. The service and ambiance was top tier, as expected. The staff was beyond welcoming and kind, not just polite but making sure they could do anything to enhance our dinner experience. Restaurant was dark but there was a moderate spotlight at each table to ensure good visibility. The courses were all good, the duck and grouper were my favorites, as was the dessert, but all in all, a fantastic dining experience.
Ghazanfar A — Google review
We had a wonderful experience at L’Effervescence, the restaurant. Every bite was like a flavor explosion that took us to a whole new level. As we stepped into the restaurant, we were immediately enveloped in a sense of hushed elegance, where the lighting was soft and the minimalist design made the whole experience feel like a retreat from the chaos of the city. The chef’s passion and creativity shone through in every dish, and you could taste the love and care that went into each one. The outstanding dishes that stood out the most were: Salad > Chapter II: Harvest Journey This was truly a masterpiece. With 62 types of ingredients, each bite was a symphony of flavors and textures. The freshness and crispness of the ingredients shone through, and the way each component complemented the others was nothing short of divine. Fish > Chapter IV: Across the Ocean A masterpiece! The super-chilled, aged grouper was marinated to perfection and grilled to bring out its tender texture. The Japanese spiny lobster Américaine sauce added a rich, creamy element, while the parsnip purée, pickled celeriac, and chrysanthemum flowers added a delightful contrast of textures and flavors. The lemongrass oil brought everything together beautifully. What truly stood out was the freshness and oceanic flavor that came through in every bite. The fish had a tender yet satisfying texture that made each mouthful a delight — a truly outstanding dish that showcases the chef’s skill and creativity. Duck > Chapter V: Catching Fire The other standout dish was the wood-fired Kyoto duck breast, served with a rich red wine sauce and sautéed red onion in white wine sauce. The duck breast was cooked to perfection, tender, medium-rare, and melt-in-your-mouth. The skin was crispy yet delicate, without being too crunchy or soft. It was a masterclass in texture and flavor , simply wonderfully tender. Every element was individually distinct, yet harmonized beautifully, creating a truly unforgettable culinary experience.
CB T — Google review
Highlight of our Japan trip. From start to finish, in terms of food, it was phenomenal. Every course was so tasty in its own ways. Loved all of them, but my personal favorite was the 63 ingredient salad course and the grouper course. Service was friendly and fun, but yet professional and formal. The som helped us picked a great bottle of orange wine. The tea ceremony at the end of the meal was also very poetic. Definitely will come back again!!
Jason L — Google review
Easily one of top 3 stars restaurant i've ever eaten ( i have been a fan of them since they was 1 star back then in 2019). The service, ambience, curated japanese local ingredients and food execution was on another level.
Erick C — Google review
L’Effervescence is a Michelin 3-star French restaurant in Nishiazabu, Tokyo. Hidden quietly next to a temple, the restaurant looks like a modern mansion. The contemporary design of the dimly lit main dining room is serene and elegant. Servers are professional, attentive, and welcoming. Yuki-san and Takumi-kun are especially helpful and accommodating. Online reservation is straightforward. There is only one omakase menu for dinner (JPY 36,000/person), which is mainly composed of seafood, meat and produce from Japan. The evolutionary Japanese-French cuisine is delicious and full of surprises! The Kyoto Nanatani Duck Breast main dish and the Duck Thigh Ravioli simply rock your palate. Who would think of combining 56 kinds of Japanese vegetables and fruits to make a salad dish?! Mixing your own “Matcha Latte” in your mouth is the definition of evolutionary for sure! Even the final cup of drip coffee does not disappoint!
XO H — Google review
Everything was perfect. Nothing extravagant. No caviar, no foie gras. The chef used all Japanese (organic) ingredients, even their olive oil, cheese and wine. I can really feel the chef deeply respects Japanese farmers. Every dish is made from simple food combinations yet it tasted complex. Service was superb. The servers were friendly, one of them knew I went to volunteer at a japanese organic farm, and he recommended a farmer's market in Tokyo for me to visit. The restaurant work culture must be very nice too as they even showed me pictures of the restuarant staffs visiting farms to pick fruits, and holding kelp harvest workshops. They even publish a sustainability report for the restaurant. They even give out souvenirs for us to choose, which are all local produces the restaurant uses. The experience is very worth the price, I would def save money to dine again when I visit Tokyo
Melody F — Google review
The service was excellent, and the restaurant was very accommodating of my girlfriend’s vegan dietary needs, which we really appreciated. The first three courses were fantastic, with some dishes being finished or prepared right at the table, adding an interactive and enjoyable touch. However, the remaining courses were unfortunately underwhelming. While there are many things the restaurant does well—especially the attentive service and creativity in the opening courses—for a 3 Michelin star restaurant, we had hoped for a higher level of consistency throughout the entire meal.

Two Dogs Taproom, located in Roppongi, offers a laid-back atmosphere and English-speaking staff that will make you feel like you've been transported to Northern California. The bar features an impressive selection of craft beers from around the world, including favorites like Lagunitas IPA and Goose Island 312, as well as local brews such as Pharoah Smoke Porter and Hitachino Nest White Ale.
Easy to find in the pleasant neighbourhood of Roppongi. Good split level set-up with quite a decent range of craft beers and other assorted goodies.

You have to take stairs to get to the entrance (2F.) Not sure if they have an elevator. There is also an upstairs area accessible by a spiral staircase. Bathroom is a step up, so not barrier-free. There is a great selection of craft beers, and the price is similar (if not slightly lower) than other craft beer bars in Tokyo. They have a page of Japan beers and a page of (mainly) USA beers. The beers are available in Small (200 ml), Medium (360 ml), or Large (US PINT). The Large is about ¥1,300 for the Japanese ones and ¥1400 for the US ones. The food menu is mostly customizable pizzas, various bar starters, and a handful of mani dishes. It’s probably best to just get some pizzas and appetizers to share as a group. On a weeknight, the vibe was pretty casual and laidback, not rowdy. Service was okay. Friendliness depended on the worker. Overall seems like a good place to get your night started on the weekend.

A great beer place (did not try the food) where they have many domestic craft beers on draft, as well as imported from USA. Majority are IPAs but there are a few really good lager/pilsner and ales.

Great place to visit. I'm a little more of a fan of the thin crispier style pizza but good selection of beer.
USguyInJapan — Google review
Staff are friendly, lots of seating. Large selection of beers and cocktails. The pizza is large and pretty good. They serve ranch dressing on the side. The chicken wings are great. They have three different flavors. The shrimp ajillo was ok, as were the onion rings. I'll be back.

Looking for a pizza/craft beer place in Roppongi? Looks around no more as the pizzas here are wonderful 😊! It is not too easy to get in as this place is busy, but you won't regret your stay. Might be a bit expensive for a normal nomikai with heavy drinkers, but otherwise, you will end up with a normal price for high quality food and drink ^^

Old fashioned interior looks awesome and feels comfortable. Crews are kind as usual. I heard the owner of this taproom came from Seattle but I couldn't find any Taps of Seattle. :-) Overall line up of beer is pretty good means very balanced, and dishes are matched with beers as well. One thing I'm not comfortable is smoking is permitted.

I ordered one glass of grapefruit which took multiple reminders and 30min to reach the table. I ordered a pizza with no cheese - in addition to a bunch of others - and they brought out one with 2 types of cheese. I was told then that all their pizzas have cheese and we were forced to take it. Guess who's not coming back.

Bar Ishinohana, nestled in the basement of Shibuya Station, is a renowned cocktail bar known for its seasonal cocktails and unique creations. Owner Shinobu Ishigaki crafts distinctive drinks using fresh fruits and vegetables, elevating classics like gin and tonic with kumquat or margaritas with housemade cassis confiture. The tuxedo-clad staff and polished wood counter exude a classic Tokyo cocktail bar ambiance.
One of the signature bars in Tokyo with an internationally renowned bartender owner. Seiko used one of his creations for a watch face in the Presage limited series edition. Very friendly and helpful staff, I am always happy to return.

Very cozy bar with expetional cocktails. One of the best i ve ever been. Be aware, that the entrance is a bit hidden
Thomas H — Google review
If you're using Google Maps to find this place via walking directions, it might be wrong. The entrance to this bar is to the LEFT of 7-11's entrance. There should be a sign that says YOGI BLDG 2. IT IS NOT BEHIND 7-11. If you're going behind 7-11, you're going the wrong way! (Learned the hard way) We went to Bar Centifolia for the flashy drinks but came to Bar Ishinohana several days later to try a normal bar. This bar makes far better tasting drinks and has a way bigger selection than Bar Centifolia. Would recommend this place 10x over if you want tasty drinks. They served us a tiny bowl of chicken soup with our drinks which was surprising, but somehow, it worked really well. Wife and I both ordered 2 drinks. Highly recommend putting in a reservation and stopping by here one of your evenings if you come to Shibuya. It's only about 15 mins from Shibuya Scramble.

Love that bar. Everything is perfect. The lounge ambiance, the staff, and of course the amazing cocktails. Be aware that some entry fees are requested (around 500¥ per person), but some tiny food is offered with the cocktails.

These gentlemen can make cocktails. Ordered my classic boulevardier. Up to par. The next cocktail was a mix of Yuzu and matcha. Tasted like an alcoholic matcha drink. Next up their original cocktail "Oribe" was a milky matcha alcohol treat. The barmen and women very professional. Book in advance! I only managed to get a bar seat on a Tuesday night.

First time in a cocktail bar in Tokyo, went there at random due to Google Maps suggestions and this is really what I wanted. A cozy bar underground with a nice atmosphere, really good cocktails. Of course the counter seats are the best. 500 yens cover charge but it's not like it's relevant lol

Excellent spot. The cocktail list is intoxicatingly extensive and each drink was really tasty. The fresh fruit libations were really refreshing. For the old fashioned drinks, I'd recommend letting them sit for a minute to let the ice melt.

Great bar in the heart of Shibuya. Classy atmosphere with really friendly staff. Had 2 cocktails while I was there: the matcha one as well as another seasonal watermelon based cocktail. Both were excellent, up there with the top bars in Tokyo. Reservations, as par the course for Tokyo, are recommended.

Bar Trench is a vintage-style European bar located in Tokyo, just a short walk from Ebisu Station. The dimly lit interior and dark timber textures create an old-world ambiance. Head bartender Rogerio Igarashi crafts an array of cocktails, including classic and herbaceous drinks made with ingredients like absinthe and amaretto. The bar stocks herbal liqueurs such as Chartreuse and Picon, along with quality absinthe served traditionally with a sugar cube and cold water.
This place has definitely exploded i popularity, so it's VERY busy. Their annex across the street matches the vibe of the main place well, and the hype about the drinks is not overselling. Mindbending cocktails for a discerning palate at a price that is far more friendly than I expected to find in a now-famous place in this part of Tokyo. I plan to go back when next I'm in the area.
November D — Google review
Trench Bar is a very popular mixology bar located in an alleyway in Ebisu. We were able to get 2 seats within 5 minutes at 10 pm on a Saturday night and were served by Arthur, a very hospitable Kiwi expat who spoke fluent English and Japanese. We ordered the Trench 75 (Nikka Coffee gin, lemon, honey, sparkling sake) and Una Vez Nada Mas (shiso-infused mezcal, elderflower, grapefruit, lime, absinthe, with a miso chili-salt rim) for a total of about JPY 4000. The Trench 75 had a subtle citrus edge that masked the alcohol well, while the Una Vez Nada Mas was a bit more tart than expected, though the miso chili-salt rim provided a nice savory balance. The drinks are definitely more interesting than what you'd find at an average bar. This spot is well worth a visit for any mixology enthusiast.

We randomly found this on Google Maps, a short walk from our Airbnb. Immediately we were weighed down by one of the staff members on the street and greeted warmly. Taken to our table and handed warm towels to refresh. Followed by very attentive service in being offered to hang up our jackets and then given snacks. Really good variety of cocktails. Very talented staff, and you can tell there's a lot of craft behind their work.

This is must visit if you are in Ebisu, the ambience is so cool, chilled and well worth it. Cocktails of course were great, tried some signatures and some classics, would definitely come again. Service was top class.

This Charles Schumann recommended place is a must stop for every elaborated cocktail lover. Delicious drinks and on spot service. Stayed there for 3 rounds before taking off again to Germany and loved every bit of it. Only small minus: little over ambitious on the AC, but that is of course almost everywhere the case in Japan and they turned it down a bit, after we asked for it. Please visit and enjoy!

We found TRENCH one evening when we were looking for a bar that stayed open later than midnight. The service was amazing — all the staff were very friendly and accommodating, especially our waiters, Saito Ryusei & Keitaro The drinks were good but strong. We would definitely visit again!😇
Maya B — Google review
Bar Trench makes great cocktails, but was once an elegant cocktail bar seems to have become a crowded tourist hang-out. When that happens, Japanese staff (either subconsciously or consciously) stop offering the same level of service that they would give to a Japanese person, because it's not expected in the same way. If you want to enjoy great cocktails in a fun place, by all means go. But if you want to enjoy the craft of a true Japanese cocktail experience, this place is (no longer) it.

SÉZANNE is a chic and luxurious French restaurant located at the Four Seasons Hotel Tokyo at Marunouchi. The executive chef, Daniel Calvert, brings a blend of Parisian elegance and American approach to French cuisine, resulting in a polished and precise seasonal menu. With a comprehensive study of Japanese cuisine and culture, Calvert incorporates top-quality Japanese ingredients into his dishes using French cooking techniques.
Our visit to this restaurant was nothing short of exceptional. The culinary experience was truly outstanding – every dish was perfectly prepared, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented. The service was impeccable, with the staff showing genuine attentiveness and care throughout the evening. One of the highlights was the wine presentation by the sommelier, delivered with the utmost professionalism and expertise. Each pairing was thoughtfully explained, enhancing our appreciation for both the food and the wine. We booked a private dining room (additional €500), which offered a direct view into the kitchen – a unique touch that allowed us to witness the artistry behind each plate. To our delight, the head chef personally introduced himself at the start of the evening, making the experience feel even more special. We left with nothing but positive impressions and heartfelt admiration for the entire team. This is a place we wholeheartedly recommend to anyone seeking a top-tier dining experience. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Went there May 2025 on another girls’ trip to Japan. Top notch service, and awesome food! Starting off with the cucumber flowers to enlighten your taste buds, very refreshing! My favourite is the eggplant dish, the presentation and taste were both exciting! Never had I seen eggplants giving out that much steam, and they also reminded me of Bomb Flowers from Zelda. Had one of the best seats in the house to watch the chefs work, was for sure a pleasure.

Reputation sets some expectations but our luncheon experience was full of surprises and delights- textures, flavors in distinct combinations. Outstanding food with professional and engaging staff who quietly made it a memorable occasion. Loved the nod to Japan with the unique bread recipe which added an extra crunch (à la rice crackers); and provided an invaluable accompaniment to the wonderful sauces.
Chris B — Google review
Cost at the last photo- ¥40000+ surcharge forgot to take photo of wines. Top 10 restaurants in worldwide. I have to say the overall tasting is quite disappointing. Nothing really makes me to remember of the night. Except the 2 veg dishes…. Tomato and the eggplant, not really positive way. Especially the last course, 2 way to cook duck. Duck breast is good, but nothing special. The duck soup is really disgusting, it’s full of the flavor of duck skin (gamey). I believe all the chef aims to get rid of this bad taste of the duck. It just like you are having the raw duck butt….. Complaint this to the waiter, but no response from the kitchen. They had great service and the sommelier is very professional and friendly!

A Truly Memorable Dining Experience at SÉZANNE Dining at SÉZANNE was an unforgettable journey through the artistry of French cuisine, elevated by the finest Japanese ingredients. Nestled within the luxurious Four Seasons Hotel in Ginza, this Michelin-starred restaurant offers a dining experience that is both refined and deeply personal. My favorite dishes were the kinki fish, known for its delicate sweetness, was perfectly cooked with a crispy skin that added a delightful texture and Megumi Duck dish was a revelation. It was tender and succulent, its skin crisped to perfection. Overall expense, from the moment we entered, the service was impeccable. Each dish at SÉZANNE told a story, blending French culinary techniques with the purity of Japanese ingredients. It was a dining experience that not only satisfied the palate but also touched the heart.

Probably overall the best fine dining experience we’ve had in the past 3 months. The aged Comté cheese amuse-bouche started this summer journey with a bold, masculin taste. Among all (from the summer tasting menu on July 10 2025), the most impressive one would be the tomato basil tarte, which is visually artistic and technically very well made: each of the multi-layers of the tarte has its own taste however does not cause any conflicts. The pan-seared white fish was cooked to perfect, which could be the role model of any kinds of fish cuisine at a fining European restaurant: crispy on the skin while juicy and tender inside. The “deconstructed” and “reconstructed” mango topped with Chantilly cream was a really wow. It’s light, refreshing yet intense and fruity, with the topical mango taste. For a “mushiatsui” hot summer day, nothing would be more suitable than this for a after-lunch dessert! The only course confused us was the melon underneath the oyster, which is a little bit too sweet, but not sour enough. Any citrus fruits instead maybe? Overall a bravo!

Situated on the 31st floor, it offers an elegant interior dining room called The Jade Room and a luxurious seasonal escape known as the Garden Terrace, providing breathtaking panoramic views over the Tokyo skyline. Guests can savor a fusion of contemporary Japanese and Western-influenced dishes along with unique seasonal cocktails.
The Jade Garden delivered the best service I’ve ever experienced at a restaurant—anywhere in the world. Kento and Itsukina were exceptional: warm, knowledgeable, and genuinely attentive throughout the evening. My wife and I enjoyed the 7-course menu, and every single dish was a work of art—beautifully presented and rich in flavor. It was well worth the price. This is the kind of place you go to mark a special night. The view of Tokyo Tower and the city skyline added a magical touch to our dinner.

We were truly blown away by the service, the food and truly how memorable our anniversary was thanks to Daniel and Chef Richard. Needless to say, the restaurant is beautiful, but also the service is amazing. I have food allergies to which the menu was customized to fit my dietary restrictions. We loved every dish, and the experience. Honestly can’t thank Daniel and the chef Richard enough for our best dinner in Tokyo!

The appetizers were enjoyable, but the main dishes were just average. We ordered one mocktail and one cocktail. The mocktail was disappointing, while the cocktail met basic expectations. Unfortunately, the portions were very small, leaving us unsatisfied and needing to eat elsewhere after this meal. On a positive note, the service was excellent, which is why I am giving this restaurant two stars. Otherwise, it would have been one star, considering the high prices. For your information, only a few seats offer a view of the Tokyo Tower, and we were not among the lucky ones.
Alpha N — Google review
This place is 5 stars all the way. The restaurant itself is spotless and beautiful and with a fantastic view of Tokyo Tower. The food portions are small but that is to be expected. The flavor is good and the presentation is superb. But what made this experience amazing was our awesome waiter who was attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. She helped make our night special. If you have a nice celebration coming up this is the place to be. Unfortunately, since we had been out and about sightseeing all day we didn’t get to dress up but we did not feel mistreated or looked down on at all by the staff. Getting to the restaurant is kind of tricky so I recommend getting there a few minutes before the reservation time to find the correct elevator. All and all a very fancy and enjoyable experience.

What a great little spot for a drink!!! Six of us wandered in off the street at about 1030pm and staff quickly shuffled around and made some space so we could all sit together. Service was exceptional, and staff were so polite. Their English was great too so we had no troubles ordering. All in all - excellent.

I had originally heard about Star Bar from Bar Times Tokyo many years ago, so I knew I had to visit them during my next trip to Japan. They did not disappoint with delicious cocktails and their signature Ninja Ice (completely see-through especially when viewed from the side). While I speak Japanese, the head bar tender at the Ginza location also speaks English quite well, so you should have no trouble communicating. The atmosphere is well-suited to the quality of the drinks: calmly-lit and in the basement of a unassuming building on Namiki-dori (literally translated, the tree-lined street), it has a speakeasy feeling to it. Highly recommend.
Bret — Google review
My boyfriend and I love these types of cocktail bars and Star Bar was one of the best we've been to in Japan. Normally the cocktails on bar menus are too sweet or fruity for us, but there were lots of interesting and stronger options and each one was worth the price considering we've spent the same at tourist establishments with mediocre drinks before. If you're looking for just a vibe it might be a little expensive, but if you really appreciate quality cocktails, this place is worth going out of your way for. No reservations so you just walk in and try your luck. We loved this concept bc we don't speak enough Japanese to book in advance, and we never know when we'll be done with things so it's hard to be on time anyways. We went around 9pm on a friday night and got a table for two, then were moved to the bar when seats became available. This is a place where you want to sit at the bar - not a table! Then you can watch them making the drinks and get a view of the gorgeous bar setup during your visit. The staff are very attentive here and we appreciated the service! They noticed that I was giving my boyfriend the side olives, so gave me crackers instead. They were also courteous enough to change our seats as mentioned above, without us even letting them know. I was also waiting for the bathroom for a little while, and the staff came to open the door for me because I mistakenly thought someone was in there the whole time, which was dumb of me but smart of them to catch! Lol

Mixology Salon, located in the Roppongi district of Minato, Tokyo, is a sleek and modern cocktail bar owned by the skilled mixologist Shuzo Nagumo. The bar prides itself on its unique approach to mixology, using high-quality ingredients and innovative techniques to create one-of-a-kind cocktails bursting with flavor.
This cocktail bar is located in a large department store shopping centre. We’d made a reservation in advance as it is pretty small with limited seating. We had the tea tasting experience with 3 cocktails, there are options for 4 or 5 instead. The first cocktail was a G&T with a Tea twist and then we could choose the other 2 cocktails. They were all tasty and enjoyable, especially the martini. I felt the prices were reasonable for the quality of the drinks and the overall experience.

We couldn't get reservations here, but decided to walk-in and they had availability on a Saturday evening. They seated us outside, even though it was almost empty inside. The concept of this place is boozy tea cocktails. We were excited for the tea focus but that part fell short. We tried the 4-cocktails course and could barely taste the tea in any of the cocktails. The drinks were good, just not tea-centric. The people working there weren't friendly, nor did they explain any of the drinks. We went to their sister location, Memento Mori, which focuses on boozy chocolate cocktails and the vibes/service/drinks at MM were so much better.
Becky T — Google review
Great experience and very authentic. They prepared their drinks with tea which is something that we can’t experience very easily. I enjoyed all drinks specially the one served in a wood box because each time you drink it you have different flavors and sensations. I strongly recommend it! Sad that we could stayed just for 1 hour.

I finally made it to Mixology Salon in Ginza Six—a bar I missed last time because I didn’t make a reservation. This time, I booked a week in advance and snagged a 5 PM slot (not ideal, but hey, we start drinking when we must 😂). The bar’s concept is super cool: every cocktail is tea-based, and each one is crafted so beautifully. I went solo and got a 3-drink tasting set for just 5,700 yen—such a steal! I also treated myself to their seasonal special. Everything was so good. Highly recommend!

What a unique and peaceful experience at Mixology Salon! I tried the Gyokuro cocktail course and loved every drink served. 🍸💚 The course was beautifully crafted—from the non-alcoholic Gyokuro drinks at the beginning and end, to the smoked whiskey cocktail, which was really interesting. I also ordered a Tea Espresso Martini, and it was absolutely delicious—smooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. ☕️🍸 The alcohol portions were just right for someone like me who doesn’t usually drink much—nothing overwhelming, just enjoyable. The staff were friendly and welcoming, creating a calm and intimate vibe for a relaxing evening. 🔍 Tip: The bar is located on the 13th floor of Ginza Six, and a little hidden, so don’t be surprised if it’s tricky to find—just take the lift straight up. 💡 Highly recommend booking in advance as the space is small and quite exclusive. A perfect spot to experience tea-inspired mixology at its finest.

A truly unique cocktail experience in Tokyo! Mixology Salon specializes in tea-infused cocktails, blending traditional Japanese teas with modern mixology. The drinks are beautifully crafted, both in flavor and presentation. A must-visit for cocktail lovers looking for something refined and different. I don’t usually leave Google reviews, but I had to for this bar. Hands down the best bar in Tokyo—maybe even all of Japan. They have super creative drinks, so if you’re into trying something new, this is the spot. Our bartender, Kaoru, was amazing. He really listens to what you’re looking for in a cocktail and puts his own twist on it. He made us several original drinks that weren’t even on the menu. Both the menu and off-menu cocktails were incredible. If you like spicy cocktails, you have to try one with wasabi gin—it’s next level. Also, it’s not too hard to grab a seat here, which was a bonus. We’re so happy we found this place on our last day in Japan—just wish we had more time to come back. This is a must-visit when in Tokyo!

Go to this bar if you wanna have a good time. The vibes are classy and fun at the same time Bartenders are extremely attentive and would even give us custom drinks based on our preferences if there was nothing on the menu we liked. Our bartender was Aki and he was an awesome guy. The popcorn also had a unique twist to it that had us ordering multiple rounds.

I was lucky to arrive before the busy time and got to enjoy a lovely dinner with outstanding cocktails and even better service. The team takes great pride in their work and I am thankful to have been able to experience a little of their craft.

Really loved this bar, great service and amazing unique drinks. I had a couple, including the Roquefort colada which was my favorite. They've got a small gin distillery in the bar as well, make a lot of unique gins, got to taste the blue cheese & wasabi, which were both very true to the flavor, quite tasty.

Went to this place with my colleagues and we all loved the drinks. We all ordered two drinks, the first one is from the menu and the second one is a special drink they made based on our conversation. They have a great collection of food-infused alcohol! All the mixologist here are very kind as well.

Restaurant
MAZ is the latest venture by renowned Peruvian chef Virgilio Martinez, known for his acclaimed restaurant Central in Lima. Led by chef Santiago Fernandez, this 25-seat restaurant in Tokyo offers a unique culinary experience that delves deep into Peru's diverse food culture and traditions. The seasonal tasting menu, organized by altitudes, showcases nine inventive courses that explore the country's topography and microclimates.
Food = literally the best meal of my life (and what a way to celebrate my 35th birthday, thanks to my amazing wife). Innovative as it is delicious. And you will NOT leave hungry after the 9-course journey through the landscape of Peru (with a Japanese twist). Chef Santiago Fernandez is brilliant, kind, and humble. Drinks = cocktails were very tasty and the wine list is ridiculously good. Hospitality = the best I’ve ever experienced. Attentive to your every need without feeling over-bearing. Rating = 15/10. Perfect dinner. If you have the means to try it, this is probably the best value of any 2-star Michelin restaurant in the world. A truly unforgettable experience.

aMAZing experience at this enigmatic restaurant in Tokyo. This is not the traditional type of Peruvian cuisine I am familiar with. There is a lot of science and arts behind the preparation of the meal. Conceptually, it is unique from all the Michelin restaurants I have tried. Some dishes wowed me, some were a little bit too strong for my palate and could have been balanced with some carbs to showcase their richness. The chef was very interactive and approachable, so were all the staff. Looking forward to the new menu. Note the noisy German group present that night, atypical from a fine dining experience in Tokyo
MD N — Google review
This restaurant is one of the most memorable I have ever visited. Despite having dined at Peruvian restaurants and other 2-Michelin star establishments before, I was still captivated by the excellent storytelling throughout the experience. The narrative included the origins of the ingredients and rich elements of South American culture, combined seamlessly with unique flavors and beautifully presented dishes. The chef began by introducing the ingredients sourced from Peru, setting the stage for our nine-course meal. Each dish was creatively named after different altitude levels, showcasing a diverse range of ingredients—from fresh seafood and highland-grown vegetables and fruits to various meats. Overall, it was a worthwhile visit, and the price was reasonable for a 2-Michelin star restaurant.

Delightful experience and fantastic food showcasing Peruvian flavours using Japanese ingredients. The concept brings you through the natural ecosystem from the depths of the seabed to heights of the Andes, using ingredients from different parts of the ecosystem. Exceptional service as well. Well worthy of the Michelin stars.

Maz, a two-star Michelin restaurant, offers a refined and unique foray into Peruvian-Japanese cuisine, blending visual artistry and intricate flavors into an experience that delights the senses. From the moment you step inside, the attention to detail is evident, not just in the beautifully crafted dishes, but in the overall ambiance of the restaurant. The staff’s professionalism was impeccable, and their commitment to creating a memorable experience was evident in every aspect, from the service to the thoughtful approach to plating. One of the highlights of the evening was the staff's attention to my personal needs—after noticing that I was unable to finish my dishes, they kindly offered to prepare smaller portions. This gesture, though rare in Michelin-starred restaurants, was much appreciated. Unfortunately, there was a slight oversight when they returned to offering regular portions for the next dish, which was a small inconsistency in an otherwise attentive service. However, the restaurant's accommodation of our various allergies and dietary restrictions ensured that everyone in the party was able to enjoy the experience without feeling excluded. The food itself was expertly executed, showcasing Peru’s rich culinary heritage. That said, some of the more exotic ingredients, though well-prepared, didn’t quite resonate with me personally, though this is a subjective critique rather than a flaw in the cuisine. The restaurant remains faithful to its Peruvian roots, and while I may not have been enamored with every ingredient, the dishes were undoubtedly creative and well-balanced. A quirky but thoughtful touch was the collection of visual papers offered throughout each course. While they were visually appealing, I struggled to see a clear purpose for them, and they ultimately felt like an unnecessary addition. I also couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed when my friends’ birthday was not acknowledged, especially since I noticed another table being celebrated in a similar manner. In terms of the overall experience, Maz delivers on its promise, but it doesn't necessarily go beyond expectations. The food is impressive, and the design of the restaurant is undoubtedly beautiful, but nothing stood out as truly extraordinary. It’s an excellent choice for those looking to explore Peruvian cuisine in an elevated setting, but I left feeling like the experience didn’t quite reach the "wow" factor one might expect from a two-star Michelin restaurant.

This place really deserves its two stars. Every dish was a delight, and they have the most innovative plating of any restaurant I’ve ever been to. Even the dishes used to display silverware - every detail was impeccably designed. Truly a cuisine as art experience.

An absolute culinary experience. I didn't even know some of these flavors existed. Every bite brought me to a new place. The pairings were spectacular. I think this was the best meal of my life. If you have to chance to go while you're in Tokyo, run, don't walk.

The 24-seat upscale fine dining spot impresses with top-quality food at reasonable prices, showcasing a blend of traditional techniques and contemporary ideas by chef Shinji Ishida. The curated menu features exquisite pairings of Japanese flavors and wines, overseen by renowned sommelier Yasuhide Tobita.
This Michelin star resturaunt was classic and sophisticated. The staff was friendly and welcoming , taking your coats in the beginning. It is a whole experience, having each dish explained to you in detail as it’s served as well as watching the chefs prepare in directly in front of you. Each dish was beautiful and carefully prepared and the chef seems proud of his work. They were kind and asked me multiple times in English if I was enjoying the meal. I got to enjoy the 11 course kaiseki set that was healthy and beautifully prepared with seasonal ingredients. I was given over 5 cups of tea to complement the meal. The menu changes monthly so this is just a taste of what they have to offer. A wonderful experience over all!

We come to celebrate the finish of marathon race. Food is good, but the first several dish serves quite rush, seems trying to push to the same tempo with other guests. The kitchen behind the chef chat loudly, not feeling professional. Wine pairing is quite nice with modern style, but again. Quite feeling rushed. We order extra crab, mine is quite good, my wife’s seems over cooked. I would recommend no need to seat at the front bar table, most food was done by the kitchen, only decoration here. Table might feel more comfortable?

Food was mostly enjoyable with many unique combinations. The pairings of sake and wine were excellent. We started to get quite full the 7th course. The dishes were delightful although I was disappointed with the boar. Unfortunately the boar was nowhere to be seen and instead was predominantly gristle. Service was impeccable.

Brunch restaurant
TWO ROOMS Grill & Bar is a sophisticated 5th-floor venue in Tokyo, offering a terrace with city views and an elegant dining room. The restaurant is popular for its decadent brunch served as set meals on weekends, featuring options like the Brunch Set and the opulent Champagne Brunch Set. The sleek ambiance of the dining room, with its black-and-white decor, creates a stylish setting for high-powered business lunches and after-work cocktails.
I’ve been coming to Tokyo for the past 15 years, and Two Rooms has always been a staple…especially that iconic balcony for a laid-back Sunday session. On my recent visit post-renovation, it was great to see the refreshed entrance and the newly expanded terrace. It’s a welcome update that’s elevated the whole vibe. The energy was spot on. I’m fairly certain they’ve upgraded the sound system too, the music was crisp, well-balanced, and never intrusive. It really added to the atmosphere without overpowering it. Food-wise, they’re still nailing it. I couldn’t go past their take on avo on toast with egg…simple, yes, but beautifully done. My friend ordered the oysters and crab balls to start and they absolutely hit the mark. Service was solid and with a fresh team in place, I can only see it getting better. It feels like the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Two Rooms. If you haven’t been in a while, it’s definitely worth a revisit.

We arrived with no reservation for dinner and we were nicely accommodated inside. The inside room I felt the light very white, could be more cosy compared with the other room. I had the bonito, my companion had the chicken, the food was very well executed without surprising factor. After dinner we asked to finish with a cocktail outside. They didn’t have space outside and we went to the bar room which was very loud to talk, eventually we asked again to to the terrace and the staff was amazing and managed to find us a table outside more comfortable for the ears and great view. Great service, we were very happy they took care of us! When in Tokyo we might come back. Thank you!!!

There is now a 1500 yen admissions to the terrace. In all honesty there's not much to see and it's not worth it. The drinks took about 20 minutes to come out. Ordered a mango passion martini and lychee mojito. The martini was good but mojito not really. This was booked about a week in advanced and the seat was horrendous compared to other places when bookings are made in advance If you're looking for a nice rooftop bar I wouldn't recommend this. Especially with the charge for the terrace as it's not worth it and be better spending it somewhere else

Absolutely loved this place! The service was incredible — friendly, attentive, and genuine. The food was amazing and beautifully presented, and the drinks were spot on. The vibe is fun, lively, and upscale. Great music, live DJ, great energy, and stunning views — definitely one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Tokyo!

Great views and atmosphere. Specially at night and during summer. Very professional staff and plenty of options to choose from. Recommended dish: fried crab donuts, fish of the day and fish carpaccio. Appetizers in general were delicious and so worth trying. The main dishes were disappointing and a bit over priced. We just recommend going for appetizers and drinks. We didn’t order desserts.

Great hidden rooftop that I visited again after 8 years, and the flair remained! Very nice choice of drinks, great fresh oysters, mouthmelting wagyu A5, vrry friendly and polite service!
Predrag P — Google review
We had a reservation on a Thursday night, the restaurant was empty and we were seated next to the only other party that was so loud we couldn’t hear or speak to each other. The advertised rooftop area was not offered which could be okay but the indoor seating didn’t offer anything special or nice views. The service was lacking and overall really disappointing. They rushed us out by bringing the check the second we finished our dessert and saying “I’m so sorry but here is the check and we need you to pay now.” For the prices, the food should’ve been better too. Disappointed!
Ella S — Google review
Probably my worst experience in Japan so far. The restaurant has a nice ambiance, but unfortunately, the service was very disappointing. The staff were rude, impatient, and didn’t seem interested in whether we were having a good time. Our server kept coming back but still forgot our drink orders only a few minutes later. When I first arrived for my friend’s event, I mentioned the reservation under her name. The staff told me they don’t take reservations on weekends and that I must be mistaken. However, once I gave them another name my friend used for the booking, they immediately found it and took me to the table — which was confusing and unprofessional. The drinks were good, but the food was overpriced. It also seems like the prices increase at night — for example, the truffle fries were listed as ¥2,500 on one menu, but after the menu was switched, they were suddenly ¥2,900. Paying nearly ¥3,000 for fries feels unreasonable. The DJ was also incredibly loud and it was hard to communicate with one another. For a restaurant that positions itself as upscale, I expected much better service and consistency.

Atelier 森本 XEX is a renowned teppanyaki restaurant in Japan, frequented by both local and international celebrities. The establishment is overseen by Mr. Morimoto, an accomplished iron chef known for his expertise in sushi and teppanyaki cuisine. The restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere with comfortable armchairs and a warm ambiance accentuated by votive candles, creating an inviting setting for diners.
We were looking for a last-minute teppanyaki spot in Tokyo and ended up at atelier 森本 XEX — and what a great decision it was. The entire experience was phenomenal. The restaurant is apparently associated with a famous American chef, and there were quite a few American guests (some a bit loud), but the atmosphere overall was elegant and lively. The staff was incredibly friendly and professional. One dish from the set menu didn’t work for us, and they adjusted it without any issue — which we had mentioned in advance. The menu itself was fantastic, the meat was top-tier, and they had a great selection of sake to go along with it. What really stood out was our chef — fluent in English, super personable, and genuinely fun to talk to. It made the experience feel both high-end and personal at the same time. Yes, it’s very expensive — but it was absolutely incredible. One of my favorite spots in Tokyo so far, and I really can’t wait to go back.

It's hard to put into words just how fantastic the dining experience was. I have been around the world and this ranks in the top three dining experiences. A memorable dining experience at this restaurant. I booked quite late for a birthday meal on our last evening in Tokyo and, from the very first interaction, Kayty ensured that the service was exceptional, accommodating us and making us feeling very special. The food itself was outstanding, expertly prepared by Shiro on the grill in front of us, from the freshly prepared blinis to accompany the caviar to the buttery Wagyu that almost melted in the mouth. Thank you to the dedicated team that collectively made a thoroughly enjoyable evening.

I will start with how welcoming and kind the Japanese staff were, as well as the beauty of the restaurant. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by the very loud volume of other guests, specifically a larger table, we could not enjoy our romantic anniversary dinner. Multiple times, we had to ask staff for more tea or water. The chef came to say hello once and then seemed to focus on only one side of the restaurant, which was surprising. While we’re happy to have dined here, it did not meet our expectations for a two star Michelin dining experience. (Following this review on Pocket Concierge, the restaurant promptly reached out to acknowledge the feedback, shared that they reviewed it with staff, and offered us to reach out to the GM should we want to return.)

The taste combination is complex and subtle, requires a great deal of brain work to see where the food is leading you to. Chestnut plus Uni is a very interesting pair. Very, very good patisserie here. Update: revisit after 7 years, I still enjoyed this restaurant with its clean, subtle and poetic approach.

2 Michelin stars! Delicious and adventurous foods! You could tell the staff care deeply about their service and food. Every dish came with an explanation and a background on the ingredients and locations. We had amazing Japanese local ingredients cooked under amazing French techniques. The dishes were innovative with a weekly rotating menu. Our favorite was the pigeon and the bread. We let one of the staff know how delicious the bread was and he said we could have as much as we want, though we were stuffed so we kept it light.

The a la carte menu is available for both lunch and dinner, featuring exquisite desserts that are not to be missed. Table-side service includes handmade bread, cheese, and a variety of small pastries.
Having dined at L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon Roppongi Hills during a previous visit to Tokyo, I returned this time with several friends – and once again, the experience was nothing short of outstanding. The exceptional quality of Japanese ingredients, combined with masterful French cooking techniques, results in dishes of remarkable depth and precision. A special mention must go to Damien, whose warm hospitality, expertise, and attention to detail elevated the evening. His intuitive service and genuine enthusiasm make guests feel completely at ease while maintaining the elegance of a fine-dining setting. At the start of the meal, I requested for white grape juice but the server came back with a bottle of red grape juice. That's fine, no big deal. Bones in the fish. I informed the staff and received an apology. Chocolate dessert was an assembly of sweet on sweet and I had a hard time finishing it. The chocolate tasted rather ordinary. The plate for the bread was so small. I could see other customers having crumbs all over the place as well. No hand towels were provided. For a restaurant which serves starters, bread, desserts, etc which uses hands, it would be appropriate. I thought it was common for Michelin restaurants in Japan to provide them but not this time. There is a decoration in front of my table which is obstructive for the servers. They had to bend awkwardly to reach the right side of my table for water and utensils. It came to a point the staff decided to unprofessionally place all the utensils on my left. The bread basket was also removed before I was done with it as it contributed to the obstruction. I requested for tap water and tried to confirm a second time with the server. The server took my glass away and came back. I assumed it was tap water but was charged 1500 yen for a glass of water. The drinks are expensive. The 5 dishes meal cost 13800 yen. Water and juice are priced at 1500 yen. 10 glasses of non-alcoholic drinks would cost more than the Michelin meal. The overall bill came to be 18479 yen for the 5 dishes meal plus a glass of juice and a glass of water.

Had Joel lunch in HK, it’s ok, overrated to be honest, kinda like most of the reviews here for Tokyo, what impress me the most is the bakery, their pastries is a MUST try! Even in HK, the breads are really amazing, consistent high quality. The French do make amazing pâtisseries 👍🏻 You can skip the meal & just turn left directly to the bakery section. Highly recommend this spring limited roll, not too sweet raspberry jam inside, the sugar powdered crispy & buttery taste is amazing!

I have been coming to this restaurant since 2003 when roppongi hills just stated to run the business. We love the food here very much so This year I paid a visit again to my favorite restaurant at all time while in my staying in Tokyo. Unfortunately, the service has been really disappointing, the manager who serving us was not friendly and not professional. He did not give us or explain to us what the special is on the menu, but he did it to the Japanese people. And what’s more , he over charge us by paying more bottle of water on the bills! I found this is very dishonest with this behavior and should never happen in a such fine dining. Over 20 years of loyal customer, I am truly disappointing the way it is now. From the professional service to stuffing management, everything is go down hills. A Big disappointment 👎

I visited L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Tokyo for the second time in 15 years, and I just had to come back—it was my very first Michelin-starred restaurant, so there’s a bit of nostalgia there. I chose the 10,000 JPY menu, which is probably the best value option, as it includes two appetizers. I also upgraded with the Ibaraki Wagyu steak for an additional 4,000 JPY, and it was absolutely worth every yen. Don’t let the negative reviews mislead you—there’s a reason this place has held onto its Michelin star for around 20 years. Is it the best French restaurant in Tokyo? Maybe not. But is it still one of the most consistent and enjoyable Michelin experiences you can get in the city? Definitely. And let’s be honest—being able to have a Michelin-starred lunch starting at 5,000 JPY in Tokyo is still pretty incredible.

The food was excellent and it was nice to have the little boutique inside L’Atelier to bring back some yummy spreads. However, we were unpleased with the service: we asked to split the bill and it took more than 15 minutes. And the waiter had the nerve to stand on one foot crossing his arms while staring at us when we were checking the separate bills, as if we were annoying him. Eventually, even though he took 15 minutes to separate the bills, he got it ALL WRONG and mixed everything 🥴 Also, we were not offered the mignardises at the end of the meal, but the clients next to us were offered those, just like us during a previous visit. A sour note at the end of the meal that makes the overall experience disappointing. I’m a fan of this franchise but I’ve never had a disappointing experience like this one at their other restaurants in Taipei, Las Vegas, Montreal and Singapore before it closed.

The SG Club in Tokyo is a top-notch cocktail destination that strikes the perfect balance between professionalism and fun. Founded by renowned bartender Shingo Gokan, this award-winning establishment offers a unique experience spread across two floors, each with its own concept and menu. The bar has earned accolades such as the 'Altos Bartenders' Bartender' title at the 2019 Asia's 50 Best Bars, solidifying its status as a must-visit spot for cocktail enthusiasts.
I was able to sit at the bar, and the bartenders were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They offered great recommendations and took the time to explain the drinks, which really added to the experience. Since visiting Japan, this has become my favorite cocktail bar. The cocktails are imaginative and truly one-of-a-kind—each visit feels like discovering something new. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates creative mixology in a welcoming atmosphere. Also make sure you make reservations. I only tried sip, the downstairs bar but would love to come back and try gulp.

Hands down the best cocktail experience I've ever had. Incredible cocktails (tried 5 total) with truly out of the box flavors, and incredible balance. We had Sae serving us and she was extremely knowledgeable and made us feel right at home. I couldn't recommend it enough. Well worth the reservation!

You hear stories about Japanese bartending expertise and then you come to a place like this and you understand it better. This place simply rules. Creative drinks in a beautiful space. Excellent service and quality products & ingredients all being used to develop a menu that feels authentic, different & special. The space itself is pretty much perfect. I loved it here and can’t wait to come back.

Very quirky spot with a great atmosphere and cool cocktails. I thought I'd hate the parm Pisco sour, but it was actually great. Lots of other cool choices too. Definitely a good spot, also quite close to Shibuya.

I was able to walk in and immediately get a seat on a Friday afternoon. Appreciate that they open at 3pm 👍🏻 I absolutely love sitting at bars watching the bartenders work their magic 😍 Seeing the staff work together so smoothly and effortlessly makes me happy 😊 I tried several unique, savory cocktails and was very pleased with my choices. I had to meet a friend for dinner but I eagerly await my next trip to Tokyo and my next visit to The SG Club!

My partner wanted to visit this bar because it was on the Worlds Best Bar list, so we came on a rainy night and stood outside waiting for a spot to open up. 😒 However, they took our orders outside and served us outside. The drinks are unique and tasty and a great value. It was nice to even have some savory drinks which the guys in my party really loved. The vibe is casual but also upscale but also very dive at the same time. I’m not sure how to say it. It’s not pretentious but it’s also “nice.” Service is fantastic and definitely recommend!

⭐️ Overall Rating: 4.5/5 🍹 You’ll know why it’s ranked top 50 the moment you step in. 💬 The Vibe: Energetic, stylish, and packed — but in a good way. Each floor offers its own unique flair, and the staff handles the chaos like pros. What we tried: A mix of cocktails from their inventive menu — unexpected flavour pairings that worked surprisingly well ✨ Highlights: •Staff were warm and accommodating, even found space for our group of 5 during peak madness 🙌 •Loved the multi-level concept: main and lower floors open to all, with a members-only top floor after 1am. It can feel cramped tho! •If you’re arriving on a whim, expect a wait — but you’ll be well looked after

The SG Club in Tokyo is probably my number one cocktail bar! It boasts two experiences: an underground speakeasy and a more laid-back bar upstairs. Each has its own menu, but the drinks are always tasty! To ensure a spot, make a reservation or show up early. 🍸

Zoetrope is a cozy bar located in Nishi-Shinjuku, offering an extensive selection of over 300 Japanese whiskies. The intimate and dimly lit space is adorned with film-themed decor, reflecting the owner's passion for both whisky and cinema. Whisky enthusiasts can indulge in rare bottlings from renowned distilleries such as Suntory and Nikka, as well as lesser-known producers like Mercian and Venture Whisky.
A cool place to enjoy unique Japanese Whisky! The owner will guide you through the vast selection once you give him a taste profile. It is awesome that he wants you to experience whisky that is not available in your home country.

Intimate whiskey bar upstairs in the building. It can be a little intimidating at first. There aren't menus or prices. You can ask for suggestions if you can really hone in on what you want, but the list of "rules" is pretty explicit that you shouldn't just ask for generic recommendation. It's a shot bar, so expect to drink it neat. The owner is nice, knowledgeable, and has a true passion for what he serves. I definitely recommend.
John M — Google review
Def 10 out of 10. The bar owner is very kind and knowledgeable. loves whiskey and movies, and enthusiastically introduced his collection of more than 450 bottles. There is no menu, but he recommended whiskeys based on my preferences. I like them all. The price is reasonable, and will remind you if it is out of range. There is no table charge. Highly recommended!
Jacob X — Google review
What a gem of a spot! Huge selection of whisky and the owner plays movie sound tracks all night long. Had a ton of fun trying different Japanese whiskey and chatting with the owner and other patrons. It's a no non sense kind of bar so it's best you know a bit about what you like to drink and then the bartender will take it from there. We didn't ask about prices and trusted him to give us stuff that wouldn't be too expensive - there were no surprises on the bill but expect to pay about 2000 yen per drink on average.
Mark R — Google review
Love whiskey and movies? Then pay a visit to Zoetrope. The whiskey bar is run singlehandedly by the owner. You get in (no more than groups if 4, since the place is tiny), sit by the bar and tell the man what you like - a specific brand or type, along with a price range. Relaxing place amidst the chaos if the city below. Visited in late October 2025, w/t waiting in line.
Nikos T — Google review
Great little bar. Owner very knowledgeable; asks you questions about your taste and preference and then makes recommendations. 450+ Japanese whiskeys on shelf. 5-6 gins and a few ciders for those who don’t drink whiskey.
Alex M — Google review
This bar was recommended to me by two different friends in two different occasions, so I had to try. The owner is really nice and welcoming. He's very knowledgeable about Japanese whisky and gives nice recommendations based on taste. My girlfriend and I had two glasses each, and we met a couple who had tried a few more. We all loved what was served. If I have time again during this trip, I'll come back, but otherwise, I'll save it for next time. Definitely recommend it for anybody interested in Japanese whisky or just curious about it.
Allan S — Google review
Such a fun bar! There are more than 150 different bottles of whiskey, most of them Japanese and many of which are very hard to find elsewhere. The bar owner is very knowledgeable and fun to talk to, he recommended me and my partner 6 different whiskeys based on our taste preference and all of them were spot on to our liking. The bar also has a lot of references to movies and the playlist is all movie soundtracks. One of the funnest places we've been to in Tokyo

Kabi is a modern European restaurant with a twist, as it prominently features Japanese ingredients interpreted through the new Nordic approach to food. The team forages for local ingredients and experiments with traditional Japanese techniques like pickling and fermentation. The chef, pastry chef, and sommelier are dedicated to expressing the beauty of each season through their creations. The restaurant offers a cozy ambiance and excellent service, with a knowledgeable sommelier to assist in choosing from their selection of quality wines.
Kabi offers a refined and relaxed experience that blends traditional Japanese elements with modern techniques. The presentation is thoughtful, and I appreciated the subtle approach to flavors that reflects a deep respect for seasonal ingredients. While I enjoyed the meal, I wasn’t entirely impressed. The dishes were creative, but I found myself expecting more depth or standout moments. That said, the overall execution was good, and the flavors were balanced and nuanced. The ambiance is minimal yet inviting, and the staff are knowledgeable and attentive, which added to the experience. If you enjoy understated, modern Japanese cuisine, Kabi is worth a visit, though it may not leave a lasting impression for everyone.
Thanva C — Google review
The food here is just amazing. The presentation is very simple but do not let it fool you. Each dish is simple yet sophisticated and creative, the taste is clean, raw, light yet you can feel every level of depth. The vibe is so chill and relaxing with ambience music and different scents for each dish. And the juice, wow, just unexpected combo of flavors, strongly recommend you go with the non alcohol pairing. They have an open kitchen so if you seat at the bar you can see the chefs working diligently in silence. Out of all the Michelin restaurants I’ve been to I’ll definitely come back here. If you enjoy a course which focuses less on protein (I’m not a big fan of a big steak or a heavy course), I strongly recommend here.

This meal was a tour re force. The three hour dinner consisting of 14 different samplings all paired with alcohol was such a delight. The staff were incredibly friendly. The music set the right mood. I had a wonderful time solo, but this is really just an excellent romantic spot for couples. This place is great for English speakers as well. You get to watch the chefs painstakingly prepare all of the food. It's truly magical watching them meticulously place items to present them in the best manner possible. Thank you for taking me on a culinary tour of Japan and the flavors it has to offer.

Mixology Laboratory is a unique and cozy bar known for its creative drinks. The use of scientific lab equipment in the cocktail-making process adds an interesting twist to the experience. With multiple locations, this concept has gained popularity quickly. The bar offers limited seating, but sitting at the beginning of the bar provides a great view of the drink-making process. There's an 800 yen cover charge, and they serve various alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks along with small toast snacks.
This place is definitely worth a visit if you enjoy nice cocktails. Trust the bar tenders, they will ask you what you like and you can get them to make you something or order from the menu. Quite a show if you get a seat at the bar. Cover is 800 yen and the drinks run between 1400-1800 yen each. Pretty pricy but you get what you pay for.

Crony is a sophisticated dining establishment located in Tokyo, offering high-concept tasting menus and an extensive selection of fine wines. The restaurant features Nordic-style finger food with unique elements, complemented by freshly baked sourdough inspired by the chef's experience in San Francisco. The courses are known for their playfulness and creativity, with dishes presented in unexpected ways. Guests can expect amazing hospitality from bilingual staff and a great atmosphere.
Wow. If you’re going to splurge on one dinner while in Tokyo, this is the place to be! Crony is a 2-star Michelin restaurant that delivers and the food + creativity coming out of the kitchen shines through. My favorite standouts from the meal were the fried cream cheese ball (rich and creamy), cucumber scallops, sake bread and sake-less butter, and the wagyu. The wine recommendations (not pairing) were also spot on for the dishes. The attention to detail was beyond. Make a reservation about 1 month in advance to get a prime seating. The cost of the meal was almost $600 for the tasting menu and 3 drinks each for 2 people. Enjoy!

JAN 2025 Visited here for dinner with a reservation. The course had 18 items which included a welcome tea drink, a number of small bites, freshly baked sourdough bread, main fish and meat dish, and finally desserts and petit fours. Most of the dishes were very tasty; I enjoyed the first half of the course more than the mains; and I liked how the menu shows the source of the ingredient for each dish. The course went for two hours, pacing was good and the staffs and chefs were friendly and hospitable.
Barry — Google review
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Crony in Tokyo with four of my friends from medical school, and it was an evening we will be talking about for years. Crony is more than a restaurant - it’s an intimate experience built on the concept of lifelong friendship, harmony, and sustainability. From the moment we were seated, the warm yet refined hospitality set the tone for a night of elegance and connection. The tasting menu was a masterclass in complexity and balance, stimulating every taste type - sweet, salty, sour, bitter, and umami - in thoughtful succession. The opening bite, a delicate tart crowned with translucent pearls and tiny blossoms, was as visually stunning as it was refreshing. From there, the dishes unfolded like chapters in a story: a truffle-laden creation with intoxicating aroma and depth, silky scallops with a luxurious sauce, and a perfectly cooked fish with crisp skin alongside fresh, vibrant greens. The wagyu course was pure indulgence: succulent, melt-in-your-mouth beef elevated by precise and harmonious accompaniments. Desserts were both playful and sophisticated, from the ethereal powdered creation to the intricate white chocolate sculpture casting delicate shadows, culminating in whimsical petits fours that felt like the perfect epilogue. Every detail from the impeccable plating to the warm, intuitive service - showcased Crony’s deep respect for ingredients and commitment to excellence. The entire experience was a sensory journey, complex yet perfectly balanced, and left us in awe from the first bite to the last. If you are in Tokyo and want a dining experience that lingers long after the meal is over, Crony is an absolute must.
Nam N — Google review
Crony in Tokyo is a culinary masterpiece that left our table in awe. From the moment the first dish arrived, it was clear that the chef and his team are true artists of the culinary world. The appetizers were a delightful introduction to the meal, each one a miniature work of art that delighted the senses. The flavors were expertly balanced, providing a symphony of tastes that danced on the palate. The mains were the true showstoppers, however. Each plate was a masterful display of the chef's prowess, with every element thoughtfully prepared and presented. The flavors were exquisite, revealing layer upon layer of complexity with each bite. And the desserts? Absolute perfection. The pastry team clearly puts as much care and attention into the sweet courses as the savory ones. The desserts were not only beautiful to behold, but also delivered an unforgettable taste experience. It is clear that the team at Crony in Tokyo is dedicated to providing an exceptional dining experience. The attention to detail, the commitment to quality ingredients, and the creativity of the culinary team all combine to make this restaurant a true standout. I cannot recommend Crony highly enough. Whether you are a seasoned foodie or simply appreciate excellent cuisine, this restaurant is a must-visit. Brace yourself for an evening of culinary wonder.

Visited Crony for lunch — a beautiful restaurant with an impressive open kitchen that greets you the moment you step in. The staff welcome you twice — once at the entrance and again as you’re guided upstairs — a nice touch that sets the tone for a polished experience. Food: Overall very good, with elegant and thoughtful presentation. My favorite dish was the matsutake mushroom chawanmushi — deeply flavorful and perfectly balanced. The fried abalone was a bit disappointing; the batter overwhelmed the delicate abalone flavor. The blue cheese dessert had a clever concept — different textures and temperatures — but the aroma was quite strong, so skip it if you’re not a blue cheese fan. The venison was outstanding — tender, mild, and beautifully paired with the crispy lotus root garnish. Even someone who doesn’t usually enjoy venison would appreciate this one. Service: This was the most uneven part. The female server with short hair was excellent — fluent English, friendly yet professional, and explained each dish naturally. She could easily work at a three-star restaurant. Unfortunately, the tall young male server was less polished. His English was difficult to follow, which is understandable, but he repeatedly pointed at food during explanations — once even resting his hand close to the plate. I noticed the same gesture at another table, which felt unhygienic and distracting. Another issue was water service — no one offered water initially, and I had to raise my hand after the second course. Interestingly, I noticed a gentleman at another table also raising his hand for a refill shortly after. After that, the staff seemed to realize and became more attentive about pouring water for everyone. The sommelier was prompt in presenting the drink menu when we were seated, which was nice. I had a glass of red wine that paired well with the meal, though once I finished it, no one asked if I’d like another — a small detail, but noticeable at this level. The first four or five courses arrived too quickly, with barely a minute between them, which made the pacing feel rushed. The tables are placed quite close together, so conversations from nearby tables carry easily, and the tight spacing made service movement look a bit constrained. Overall, Crony delivers creative, well-executed food and moments of real excellence, but inconsistent service and pacing prevented it from feeling truly two-star caliber. Still, worth visiting for the flavors — especially that incredible chawanmushi.

We came here for our anniversary dinner and it didn't disappoint. This restaurant is probably the best restaurant we've ever been to worldwide. Starting from when we arrived, the staff were so gracious. We were taken to our seats quickly and the from there the food just started flowing. Each course was a piece of art and tasted phenomenal. Each bite was full of amazing flavours and you can tell that the chef is super passionate about his craft. My husband got to wine pairing and they were very generous with their pouring. The sommelier took the time to explain each drink and answered any questions that we had. This is the perfect place for a special celebration

Words can not describe how wonderful our experience was at Crony. I came to Crony to celebrate my anniversary. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted with a warm welcome. We were served an 18-course meal. The food was AMAZING. Every dish we were served, we saw a beautiful masterpiece. Not only was the food very eye-catching, but it was absolutely delicious. All in all, the best way to describe the whole experience is to recommend everyone to try it. It truly is like no other restaurant.

Vowz Bar in Tokyo offers a unique experience where patrons can enjoy cocktails while learning about Buddhism. The bar is run by actual Buddhist monks who lead sutra chants and offer lectures, making it a place to unwind and gain cultural insight. With its foreigner-friendly environment and creative drink menu, including a bean-based concoction that tastes like cookies and cream ice cream, Vowz provides an offbeat yet welcoming atmosphere for travelers seeking something different.
An entire bar that is operated by Buddhist monks. Most of the cocktails have some connection from their ingredients or their concept to Buddhism. There are also nightly sutra readings that everyone can participate in.

We had such an amazing experience here. Great cocktails, impeccable service, tremendous atmosphere. The best sake I’ve ever had in my life. If we could give 10 stars, we would, 5 stars isn’t enough for this establishment. We’ll absolutely be back next time we’re around.
Ash B — Google review
Vowz Bar is built around the concept of Buddhism and the contrasting idea of a Buddhist bar against the idea of drinks is quite cool. All the drinks, including the choice of sake or the salt used in one their cocktails are related to the religion eg. the salt used are the salt they use in their prayers. There are evening sutra reading sessions that last about 10 minutes where guest are encouraged to participate if you want just at the comfort of your seats. It can be a very zen and soul soothing experience. The drinks are of decent strength and price, and you may even see a couple of regulars too which goes to show the place isn't just a gimmicky concept. If you like to be at a bar where you can peacefully contemplate on your week or life whilst being in a very zen environment to help you, do give Vowz Bar a visit.

This was a nice hang out experience with reasonable price and good drinks. The bar is cozy and run by a group of monks. We tried all the cocktail they offered and it was a good drink and the price is okay. What's weird is that some of the drink actually uses animals while the snack was all vegetarian. It gets weirder as we had drink up and tipsy enough, then a monk came and lead to chant prayers. All the people including us stopped and join the prayer for about 10 minutes. Then it come back to normal again where we just hang out. Such a weird experience in a nice way.

really nice, intimate bar playing great music. you can request one song for free. there’s a set service charge which I didn’t know of, it’s not a problem but would’ve been nice to make a mention of this on the menu or something (¥900) because when I paid ¥1900 for two cokes I got a bit surprised, but overall very good experience

This bar is a short walk from yoyogi station. Another cool vinyl record music bar. I think they probably attract a younger clientele as I was definitely the oldest person there. Their Manhattan is called a New York 🤣 but tasted good. There is a small fee, but for that price you can select a record from their collection to play. This is done via a QR code and you can also select your food that way. Their sound system also looked very interesting and sounded great. I chose Sade - By your side

Vinyl bar, where they offer a big selector records and you can choose your song with additional fee. Very nice and chilled atmosphere. They also have nibbles available for free (included in the cover charge to be more precise). Card payments accepted. WiFi available.

One of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had in Tokyo. I asked two simple questions about the bar (since there was no prior guidance), but the staff brushed me off and blatantly told me to “read the menu” instead of simply answering “yes” or “no” — which would’ve been far more polite and efficient. The staff didn’t seem busy either; they were casually chatting with regulars. As someone who speaks Japanese, I could clearly tell they weren’t occupied with work, which made the dismissive attitude even more disappointing. The music was good, but with service this poor and food that’s only average at best, it’s definitely not worth a visit. There are plenty of bars in Tokyo with far better hospitality — your time is better spent at one of those instead.
Star S — Google review
It’s a lovely bar, the space is intimate and the seating is comfortable. The music played is not that appealing as the owner lets the patrons decide what to play which leads to a mismatched vibe and a lack of curation that can be a bit jarring if you’ve come to listen to good music. Potentially nice place to bring a date or a friend but not necessarily one for the music lovers imo. Fantastic Moscow Mules though and amazing bar snacks.
Fatima O — Google review
Great atmosphere, great for people who love records and bars. You can pick up the record and look at it, which I think is rare ;) (Please check with the staff just in case) I also like that 1 request is included in the seating fee.

It was must visit place for me in Tokyo and I did. Lovely place with an amazing music and cocktails. The manager/bartender (I forgot his name) also, Kento, Ryota, Nosu were very friendly. I just want to to thank all of them for an amazing time there 🙏🏼 If you are around you have to visit this place.

Located just a short walk from Roppongi Station, BrewDog Roppongi is the place to be for beer enthusiasts. This Scottish brewery offers its own in-house creations like Punk IPA and Dead Pony Club pale ale, as well as a variety of international beers on tap. With 20 craft beers available, including 10 brewed on site, visitors can enjoy options like Northern Star Porter and Sea Coast Pilsner.
Great open bar with tables in the back. A bar this size is a rare sight in Tokyo and very welcome. If you are ever missing western style atmosphere, especially in a pub, look no further. Reasonable prices, awesome service, and great beer. What more could you ask for?
Jeffrey T — Google review
Overall was a pretty good experience. Really enjoyed the lamb pizza. Beers were as expected and prices in line with the area.
Mike P — Google review
First time visiting this bar in Roppongi. The inner décor reminds of a bar in the US with counter seats and booths at the front and tables in the back. The menu is mainly in English with Japanese descriptions. You can select from a wide range of craft beers that are available in S/L/Pint sizes. They also have a pretty good food menu with daily specials that are really great. With some slightly old western pop songs playing in the background, perfect place if you want to drink alone or with friends! Spacey and very welcoming even for a first timer! Crowd Size: Small Payment Method: Credit Card

I went to this place with friends on a Friday night and made a reservation through AutoReserve. The staff speak English really well. They have a great selection of craft beers and food. We got three pizzas, and they were super tasty! The craft beer was awesome too. The restaurant is pretty big, amazing atmosphere, and the bathrooms are clean, though you have to go upstairs for them. The prices are very reasonable. I’ll definitely visit again when I'm around there. If you love craft beer, you should totally check this place out! 🍻

American style brewpub here offering beer flights and some cocktail specials. The server we had was extremely cool and awesome to talk to as well. The beer was also pretty good.
C R — Google review
Had a great night out here. The food was good, even if the servings were on the small side (but, hey - it is Japan!). The service was friendly and efficient — we got some good beer recommendations from the bar staff 😀 After a few beers, we met a couple of friendly Americans and had a good old chat. So, a “tick” for good atmosphere and friendly patrons. It is a Western style bar with western style food and craft beer. The disconcertingly named “Elvis Juice” was the pick of the tasting paddle. Although we enjoyed our beers in moderation, I did wonder how people who might of had “a few too many” get back alive from the bathroom, which is at the top of a long, narrow flight of stairs on the second floor 😂

I’m so sorry. The food was not great. :( poor attempt at American cuisine. The sharing plate. The onion rings were very bland. Batter not right. We couldn’t finish them as they were very icky. :(.

Staff were welcoming and friendly. English speaking staff work at this Brewdog. Postcards were available. Selection of beers on tap looked very good and food menu was exciting. I was upset to find out that they were out of stock on the pin badges and as a collector of them, I left empty handed.

Not Suspicious is a cozy and friendly bar in Tokyo's Golden Gai area, run by the cheerful Sakura and her English-speaking team. The bar has no table charge and offers diverse cocktails from an English-language menu. The walls are covered with notes left by patrons reassuring others that the bar is not suspicious. It has a unique and friendly atmosphere, with little toys on the bar to play with, making it a must-visit spot for anyone looking for a cool and welcoming bar experience in Tokyo.
Wow!!! What a wonderful surprise find at the end of a terribly long day walking about Japan! Delightful little pub… so you may not get seats .. but if you do… outstanding experience!! The bar tender was so friendly and gorgeous atmosphere … just the cutest experience ever..

Unmissable! If you only have time to visit one place, make it this one! One of the best bars in Tokyo. The drinks are delicious, the atmosphere is fantastic, and the bartender is friendly and approachable, chatting with everyone. 🥰
Kriszta O — Google review
We went here yesterday not expecting much, but the atmosphere was great. The bartender was friendly, and her drinks were fantastic. We managed to finish most of the menu. Recommend: - Yuzu fresh - Soy sauce drink (actually good) - A couple of shots - Any other cocktail - all 10/10
Jarrishan R — Google review
Located close to one of Asakusa's crowed streets, this bar has something of "Cheers" ( "everybody knows your name.") The drinks are strong, and the atmosphere is cozy. I suggest spending at least an hour chatting with the bartender to get some tips on what to do afterwards.
Felippe C — Google review
Awesome little bar near the shopping street. Bartender is awesome, really friendly and speaks English really well. Got to ring the bell for a couple of Suspicious Shots. The Yuzu Fresh and Apple Sake Party are definitely worth trying out.
Jack K — Google review
Bring cash because it's no charge, no tax.. totally not suspicious at all you guys. Who needs a paper trail anyway? All jokes aside, the bartender is friendly and the atmosphere is quirky with little drawn notes from all the past patrons. We had the "suspicious shot", "yuzu fresh" and "apple sake party", all of which are delicious.
Thuy C — Google review
10/10 drinks were amazing. Had a Adult matcha Latte and apple sake party. Very cool glasses and VERY yummy drinks. Had 2 suspicious shots absolutely incredible. Bartender was 10/10. Could have stayed there all night drawing pictures

10/10 Would recommend. TLDR; great drinks, cosy and friendly vibe, very welcoming. Food: (Drinks) Great selection, not too much selection which is a green flag for me and the drinks were all unique, I had the Apple Sake which tasted like apple pie with cinnamon, delicious! Service: Very friendly and social vibe, the owner is a bundle of energy and the other server was very welcoming. Atmosphere: Cosy and fun, there aren’t many seats and it’s very intimate, the perfect place to strike up a conversation with someone. You can leave a bit of your creative side here as the walls are covered in individual drawings by people who have come far and wide to Tokyo.

Ginza 300 Bar Next is a trendy standing bar conveniently located just a short walk from Ginza Station and Yurakucho Station. This unique bar operates on a ticket system, where guests purchase tickets for 300 yen each and exchange them for drinks or food. The affordable pricing has been in place since the bar's establishment in 1992.
A lovely experience with delicious drinks and entertaining staff, but sadly the DJ's music was a little too loud for nice conversations, though the music was great 👍
Tamaryko — Google review
Super close to our hotel and great for a late night hang! Very dive bar like if you’re from the states I anticipate you know what I mean. 990 yen pp for 3 tickets (a little less then $7 pp) It’s a cool place to stop for a sec definitely seemed like a local spot. Personally I’m a big music person and the playlist was a total miss for me (but) still a cool experience. If you’re in Ginza late night it’s a spot ($6.78 gets you a napkin I LA so….)
Cindy K — Google review
Affordable bar with items starting from 330 yen tax inclusive. Best to combine when coming with a friend or two as they have this 3,300 yen promo for 11 tickets. It’s a standing bar though without any stools at all so that’s a no-no if you already have tired legs. Food is decent and you can find a drink of choice from what they offer.
Bernadette G — Google review
It’s one of the cheapest & best bar to get drunk & enjoy. If you visit during happy hours it’s even more cheaper.
Div — Google review
A good standing bar to visit in Ginza that won't break your budget. As others have mentioned, there's a ticketing system with a minimum 3 ticket purchase (¥990 tax included), but if you're out and about with mates, just take the 11 tickets for ¥3300). The tickets are also usable at any Ginza 300 establishment, so me and my mate walked over to another Ginza 300 closer to the hotel at the end of the night. However, I'd like to specially mention that the staff at this particular Ginza 300 establishment were much more friendly and accommodating towards a pair of gaijins versus the other Ginza 300 we visited. :)
Paul C — Google review
This bar is wonderful and the people are so friendly - staff and patrons! We made fast friends with both. There are many cocktails available, and the 300 bar rings true with each cocktail being 300 yen (approximately $3 American equivalent). Our favorites were the Long Island Iced Tea and the Godfather (whiskey and Disaron -sp?). This would easily be a spot to frequent.
Betsy K — Google review
Super value fun bar! Drinks are really cheap, and are all 300yen as advertised. Some finger food is available. About 50/50 Japanese to Gaijin ratio. Good crowd, good vibe, live DJ and good music. Highly recommended. Good to come early as it does get busy after about 7pm.
Byron L — Google review
This is one of the decent bars to hit up in the Ginza and Yurakucho area. The bar has three locations and they are all on the basement 1st floor, so please keep that in mind if you have anyone with a wheelchair or leg injuries. They run on a ticket system where each ticket is 300 yen and every drink and snacks/appetizers are all 1 ticket each. Overall, for a ¥300 cocktail, they don't skimp out on the alcohol and the food selection is surprisingly great, you can tell the staff there work really diligently. Recommended for cheap late night drinks.

Bar Centifolia is a reservation-only bar known for its flashy performances and eye-catching cocktails, making it popular on social media. The owner, Yuzu Komai, is dedicated to creating a sensational and entertaining experience for guests. While it may not be the ideal spot for those seeking a quiet atmosphere, visitors are impressed by the delicious drinks and fascinating mixology. Guests have returned multiple times during their trips due to the friendly and welcoming atmosphere created by the owner.
This place is nuts but in a good way. It was overwhelming at first, but then the staff explained the protocol. I had a seat at the table and was worried I wasn't going to get the IG shots, but fear not they leave the two middle bar seats open. So regardless of where you sit when your drink is being prepared, they usher you to the middle of the bar to get the money shots. Drinks are made as fast as possible, but remember, it's a performance, so except to wait. Overall, it's a fun place. I did come from another bar beforehand, so I had a nice buzz and was able to sit back and enjoy myself here.

This was probably the BEST bar experience I’ve ever had in my life. This establishment is extremely popular and reservations are needed. I attended solo and had an amazing seat right at the bar. The staff are professional, kind & attentive. Watching the master at work was awe inspiring. I can’t recommend this enough.

More Than a Cocktail Bar – A True Experience! This place is absolutely incredible! The cocktails aren’t just drinks — they’re creative masterpieces with unique and fascinating flavors. Every cocktail feels like part of a performance, and the whole experience is more like a show than a typical bar visit. The entire team was extremely friendly, attentive, and worked together perfectly. You can really feel that they put their heart into making sure every guest has an unforgettable evening. Highly recommended for anyone who loves great drinks and a bit of magic in the experience!

This bar makes you feel like a king/Queen! I was by myself and didn’t have a reservation, nor was I casually dressed, yet they allowed me in right away. The staff were so helpful and nice; they helped me take cool pictures. They especially understand lighting as well as taking multiple shots. I wasn’t another number to serve to them; I was the customer they were going to make my day. They wanted to know where I’m from, as well as asked how my stay at the bar and Japan was, and they provided great detail to what the drinks are. The bartender was so nice. I was trying to be formal and very modest, but he welcomed me and made me feel happy and let me feel myself. His craftsmanship is beyond other bartenders. He’s hardworking, in the moment, and kind, knowing he’s making someone’s day. (Very important) Even if you don’t get a bar seat for the perfect drink shots, you can still watch your drinks being made — there are two middle seats where you can see all the action when your drinks are prepared. He makes people’s day by doing this, and I appreciate that more than they can imagine. Each drink is a show you’ll never forget. If you want a show, an awesome atmosphere, amazing service, and a quality drink, DO NOT miss this beautiful bar—you won’t regret it.

This was our second time visiting Bar Centifolia — we were here last year and fell in love with the Popcorn Cocktail. Tonight, we were lucky enough to get a seat again, and it was another wonderful evening. A magical place with incredible drinks and warm hospitality — can’t wait to come back!

My wife and I had an amazing experience at Bar Centifolia. We didn’t know what to expect, but it was absolutely worth it. The staff were friendly, attentive, and on point, and even Yozu Komai (the owner and bartender) was behind the bar personally crafting the drinks, which made it feel even more special. Everyone here is genuinely nice and welcoming. A quick tip—you’ll need to make reservations in person a few days in advance, as they don’t accept phone reservations. The bar itself is tucked away on the 6th floor of a building, which adds to its hidden charm. We would definitely recommend this place and look forward to coming back. Thank you for the wonderful experience!

Cocktail bar
Little Smith prides itself on providing a nice time and a nice taste, living up to its catchcry. Despite the heavy wooden door that separates it from the outside world, this warm and cozy bar welcomes guests with a gorgeous timber bar and impeccably dressed bartenders. Some of the city's renowned bartenders have worked at this basement drinking den, including those who have gone on to open their own successful bars.
The Japanese fresh pear cocktail was amazing. I just wish I could’ve tried a few more different cocktails that night.
James W — Google review
Great chill bar with talented bartender who will tailor make cocktail for you according to your preferred taste. They serve food and snack too. We had a great time enjoying ourselves with the cocktails they served.
Kwong N — Google review
I really loved the vibe of the bar especially because the interior is quite unique, but thats about it. Overly priced drinks with cheapest alcohol ingredients. Beefeater for gimlet in Ginza Tokyo haha. Im not quite sure if AO is perfect choice for Old Fashioned. Worst part of the bar was that the bartender kept on leaving dirty glasses from other customers in-front of our seats. Its a terrible view to sit in… just staring at those dirty glasses 🤣 and we paid something like 20,000 yen for 5 drinks.
JK K — Google review
Drinks at LITTLE SMITH in Tokyo are really delicious. They taste carefully made, with clear flavors and a nice balance. The presentation feels thoughtful without being over the top, and you can tell some care goes into each one. The downside is the price. Most drinks are in the 2000 to 3000 yen range, so it adds up fast if you have more than one. It feels like a place to go when you want something special, not for a casual night out where you want to keep it cheap. Overall, if you are okay with paying for quality and want a well-made drink, it is worth checking out. Just be ready for the price.
キムミンホ — Google review
As soon as we exited the elevator, we had a bad feeling: a tacky “Keep calm and drink whiskey” poster and a sign warning about expensive coverage charges set the tone. Despite that, we decided to give it a try. It was a Thursday night, and the bar was half empty with only a few English-speaking customers. We were seated in a corner and handed a “foreigner” menu. Like another reviewer mentioned, the bartender spilled my drink, wiped the glass with what looked like a dirty cloth, and handed it to me without a word. He seemed disinterested, barely acknowledged us, and drank multiple glasses of water in front of us instead of engaging with guests. The drinks were ok but overall, it felt unwelcoming and overpriced—not worth the visit.
Holly L — Google review
Little Smith comes up as a top rated cocktail spot in Ginza. However after trying many specialty cocktail spots in Tokyo, I’m not sure I’d rank it in my top favorites. Don’t get me wrong, the cocktails were good, but I was disappointed in the lack of creativity especially considering a spot that boasts not having a menu. I asked for a spin on a penicillin and got a penicillin with Japanese whiskey 🥃 again, I want to be clear that it was a solid drink, just not anything different than I’d get in NYC. My mother ordered a spicy margarita and it was exactly that with a hint of smoke We then asked for some sort of special martini 🍸 and got an Espresso martini and “The Little Smith” extra dry martini. Our total check came to ¥14,200 (approx $98 including a $10 pp entrance fee) Pros: -Upscale and gorgeous setting -Good drinks served by staff in white tux jackets -Complimentary light snacks (broth, vegetables, and olives) Cons: -¥1500 (roughly $10) per person cover charge which felt aggressive compared to other spots -Overpriced cocktails (most expensive drinks we had in Japan over 16 days) -Service was not the friendliest and seemed to get upset when I asked about each item on the check
Maria — Google review
Even though the bar was empty, we were seated in the foreigner seats at the end of the bar by the trash can rather than in the center where they actually make the drinks. When you go to an expensive cocktail bar like this half the fun is watching them make the drinks. However the bar tender actually turned his back to us when he made both of our drinks and didn’t show us any of the alcohol even though the bar was empty. The service was otherwise cold and impersonal. Overpriced and scammy vibe as well since the card out front said cocktails were 1500 - and our drinks were 2500 yen each. Two pastas and two cocktails cost us over 12000 yen. Like others have said the building and elevator down there are gross. Not going back and do not recommend. There are so many other better bars and restaurants in the area.
Kitty — Google review
Little Smith is nestled in the bustling streets of Ginza, located on B2. They don’t have a set menu but instead craft drinks tailored to your taste and preferences, using a few fresh fruits like Japanese pear, grapes, and fresh tomatoes to create truly unique beverages. The drinks were extraordinary, and after visiting 90% of Asia’s top 50, I highly recommend this place. While some reviewers have found the drinks a bit basic, if you’re seeking something unique and different, Little Smith is worth a visit. The pricing aligns with what you’d expect for high-quality, one-on-one service, creative drinks, and a great atmosphere. The bar staff were incredibly welcoming and accommodating, happy to cater to my desire for different drinks and engaging in friendly conversation. The ambiance is relaxed and calm, perfect for unwinding. A special thank you to Kenta Shimoyoshida for making the experience at Little Smith so memorable!

NinjaBar is a great place to go with friends and enjoy a good time. The staff are friendly and the drinks are excellent. If you're new to Tokyo, this is the perfect spot to start your exploration.
Not so easy to find but anyway a gem. Just go down the stairs! If you’re looking for anything to else than beer this is your place. They of course serve several pint sizes from tap - which I am totally fine with - it’s not for the craft beer gourmet but for the cocktail lover, whisky admirer and Sake enthusiast. The ninja, and I am not exaggerating, who served is was a charm. Friendly, precise and fast. I loved it that he was actually looking like a ninja. The different sake brands and flavours to choose from is insane. The high ball menu vast. If you are unable to find something here, it is definitely your fault. One highlight: the key to the restrooms comes attached to a sword. Neat!

They also have luxurious bathroom products. There are three floors. Make sure to check out the third floor as well for office furniture and high-end, “kawaiiiiiii (cute)trinkets.”

A great selection of classic quality stationery, home and interior goods. They have a nice balance of Japanese and imported European/ American brands. They also have nice exhibitions from time to time, definitely worth checking out. The have a great collection of vintage limited edition prints of Swiss design book on the second floor. The AXIS magazine is also available on the second floor of the shop.

Gay bar
EAGLE Tokyo is an international gay bar located in Shinjuku Ni-chome, known for its friendly staff and diverse language skills. The ambiance resembles a Brooklyn lounge with its decor, music, and clientele. On weekends, the bar transforms into a lively party spot with DJs, drag queens, and gogo boys entertaining the crowd. The venue boasts high-quality audio equipment and an extensive collection of records and CDs for guests to enjoy.
As a tourist, I was welcomed and had a really awesome time here, meeting really nice people from around the world! Drinks were good and reasonably priced and the music was good. I’d definitely come back for a few more rounds of drinks!

One of my favourite places in Tokyo! Staff are super friendly, lots of locals and tourists. Even if you are travelling by yourself, go there... have some drinks and make some friends. The music is great (Fridays and Saturdays are the busiest nights). You normally pay an entry fee, but u get drinks...worthy!

What a place to escape the heat. Cool bear bar, very friendly bartenders, everyone was welcome. Definitely a cool place to have a few drinks.

Eagle is a great gay bar in Tokyo with a welcoming atmosphere and really nice staff. The service was friendly and made the experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. A solid spot for drinks and meeting people.
Genta — Google review
Had a great experience here last year. The happy hour prices were very generous. I visited almost every night I was in Tokyo in October and November 2023. I was there for about 5 days each trip. Everyone I spoke to was really kind and helpful. Sho was extremely friendly and made me feel at home immediately. Jackun was also really cool to talk to. He made his own specialty drink for me one night that was amazing. There was another great guy whose name I unfortunately can't remember at the moment. I think he was Japanese/Thai and had lived in Norway at one point? My favorite memory of the place was when I returned from Taipei in November. I told a couple of the bartenders that my partner said "I love you" for the first time. They all started cheering and announced it to everyone in the bar in Japanese. Then, one of them put on "Bleeding Love" by Leona Lewis, and they all started chanting "Marriage! Marriage!" 🤣🤣🤣 I will definitely be back as soon as possible.
Joshua N — Google review
I had such a blast at this bar! At first I was disappointed that it’s not like the Eagles in America (fetish, leather bar/club). But I must admit I enjoyed the bar vibe, lots of bears, HOT guys and just...NICE people! The bartenders are great. Strong drinks. Go for the double. 1400yen for a double Bombay tonic..soo worth it. Me and my friend even came twice in one night! I also bought a shirt :)
C R — Google review
It's a decent sized bar for shinjuku standards with great staff. English is easily used, or you can speak japanese if you like. The bar goers are also friendly overall. The alcohol and beer prices are higher than what I've seen other bars in Tokyo. Draft beer is about 1000 yen. It's a good start to the night if you want to do bar hopping with friends.
LIG V — Google review
My friend group and I come to this bar often, we always start the night by enjoying a trip to Tokyo Eagle. The happy hour is really great and it goes to 9:00 pm everyday. The staff is incredible nice and friendly, the weekdays is more intimate while the weekends can be pretty full with customers usually spilling out on to the streets at time. The drinks are strong and the interior of the bar is always changing with the current holiday or event theme. But if anything I highly recommend it for the staff Sho and Jackun are always very friendly. If you’re a foreigner I would definitely pop in, there is never a cover charge also!

Amazing food and cocktails, outside seating just far enough away from the street to not feel part of the bustle, but still able to watch the world go by. We had the beef in red wine and the mushroom tagliatelle and it was all really tasty, I had their sweet twist on an old fashioned cocktail and it was delicious!

I ordered Hamburger steak and when mi “hamburger steak” comes it was just the meat, no bread, no onions, NOTHING. Just a patty. That’s it. I feel so disappointed, I think is gonna be a GREAT dinner but no and the taste was bad. It taste like McDonalds patty.

Sure! Here's a polished 3-star restaurant review based on your experience: --- **⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Decent Spot for Drinks, But Skip the Steak** Stopped by for dinner and had mixed feelings about the experience. Service overall was friendly, and our server had a great attitude, but there were some noticeable slip-ups. Our appetizer was forgotten initially, and my date’s entrée arrived before we had any silverware. By the time the appetizer came out, she was already halfway through her meal. When my entrée finally arrived— a wagyu steak— it was undercooked and overwhelmingly salty. Definitely not what you'd expect at this price point. Unfortunately, by the time I got my food, my date was already finished with hers. If you're looking for a place to grab a drink and hang out, this might be a good option. But if you’re here for a proper steak dinner, you might want to look elsewhere.

Hobgoblin Roppongi British Pub, a UK-owned establishment, stands out as the largest importer of cider in Japan. It offers an authentic taste of traditional British and Irish pub culture, providing a unique experience in Tokyo. The pub is renowned for its enticing happy hour deals and consistently draws in a steady stream of patrons throughout the night. With its wide selection of beer on tap and surprisingly good food, this place embodies the quintessential British pub atmosphere in the heart of Tokyo.
Great food, excellent beer. Went during a non busy time and enjoyed myself. The vegan burger was great.
Seraphim B — Google review
Was excited to try something different in Tokyo. The Sunday roast beef was so darn chewy and stingy on the flavorless gravy. They need to cut the meat against the grain. I was disappointed I spent 2600 yen on that roast instead of a wagyu set meal down the street.
Ty T — Google review
June 27, 2025 I came right before Happy Hour (1000y alcoholic drinks → 800y) ended at 7pm. Non-alcoholic drinks were 600y. Drink selection overall was just alright, not diverse nor special. Took a while for my pine rum to be made while I waited awkwardly by the counter. Nachos, fried chicken and potato fries were also ordinary. Considering ~1000y or more, I don't think it was worth it. Decor was quite authentically Irish. I found the whole place a bit too hot and ventilation wasn't too great. Seemed like a popular place among expats as I saw a good number of foreigners and staff behind the counter would talk to you in English. Decent place for gatherings of 10-20 people as it was spacious, but other than that, I don't have anything in particular to recommend about this place.
Andromeda T — Google review
Hobgoblin Roppongi nails the British pub vibe in Tokyo — cosy, authentic, and perfect for friends, sports, or just chilling out. The atmosphere is spot on: plenty of screens showing live sports, a good mix of local and foreign patrons, and a bar set-up that feels genuine rather than overly jammed or pretentious. The food is really good. They’ve got classic British pub staples like fish & chips, Sunday roast, meat pies, and “homemade” style dishes that feel hearty and comforting. Ingredients generally seem fresh, and portions are generous enough. Beer selection is a highlight. They have some imported ales, good craft-beer options, traditional British ales (like Hobgoblin), plus ciders, guest ales, etc. If beer or cider is your thing, this pub delivers. Service is friendly and welcoming. Staff are responsive, speak good English, and people seem to appreciate how attentive they are despite the sometimes busy setting. Heads-up though: it can get busy. Especially during popular sports matches or weekend nights, seats fill up fast, noise levels rise, and it’s harder to snag a prime spot. If you like a more relaxed experience, going earlier or off-peak helps. Also, it’s not the cheapest pub in Tokyo—expect to pay a premium for the imported beers and the atmosphere.

For expats and those who love them. The drinks are good. Has a kind of exurb London atmosphere. The nacho chips were stale but I was very hungry.
Josh F — Google review
If you like the Hub you like it here too. Friendly atmosphere and very easy to meet people. The staff were kind too. I went for a friend’s party and they reserved an area of the bar for an all you can drink for 2 hours and food was included from a set menu they chose. It was a party of 30+ and we paid ¥6,000 each, I definitely got my moneys worth.

Made an online reservation 2 days prior asking for a table with good live stream view for UFC 320. We arrived and sat down to a table marked as reserved but waitress moved us cause the table supposedly was reserved by someone else 1 day before. We were moved to a table right below a TV and it SUCKS. I'm not happy stretching my neck and watching TV at 60 degrees! Other TVs were not an option cause they had sunlight reflection from the windows!
Chalcie V — Google review
Nice looking pub inside and friendly staff. Soggy and too thick batter in places on the fish and the chips just tasted of grease. The beer was fresh but when will they learn to pour a pint? They are not line measured glasses and served me with the best part of two inches of head. Certainly not the done thing in a "British" pub.

Bar Marche Kodama offers a morning buffet that is quite popular among visitors. The buffet features a variety of options including ham, sausages, and sliced meat. However, it's recommended to arrive early or make a reservation as the space tends to fill up quickly. Despite the narrow and congested buffet area, the price for the breakfast is considered very reasonable. Guests can enjoy an all-you-can-eat sliced ham breakfast for just 500 yen, which also includes tea or coffee.
Awesome 500yen one-coin breakfast. Highly recommended!

A small bar serving food inside Shinagawa station, accessible before leaving the JR ticket gates (look for it in the shopping centre, tucked away in a corner, as part of a small butcher's shop/ charcuterie). The meat options looked good, with a variety of hams, salami and sausages on offer both to accompany drinks or as part of a breakfast, lunch or dinner. Seating is limited, but you can order at your seat. The breakfast looks like good value, but do note that the beers here are expensive for the small size, and don't order a plate of salami to accompany your beer expecting a lot of it (even if the Japanese word for assortment "Moriawase" is used on the menu). Still, if you would like a decent slice of meat, this is a good place for a drink or two!

The morning buffet is legit. Granted, you'll have to get there early to grab a spot or make a reservation, and the buffet area is ridiculously narrow and easily gets congested. But for the price you pay, it's almost criminal. Come and get your fill of ham, sausages, and sliced meat. The veggies aren't that delicious, but you're not here for that anyways.
Lissan G — Google review
Very affortable price for breakfast buffet, good taste but a bit salty on the ham. Suggest to visit there during the weekdays to avoid long queue. Limited amount of breadfast buffet seating per session. Every session starts at each hour's 0 minute from 8am to 10am

Didn’t try the food but came to visit after seeing the Japan By Food video on the Matsuo Pour. Not only was the beer delicious but the bar was excellent as well. Amazing atmosphere that really accomplished the Japanese/German hybrid vibes. Very friendly locals who had a nice conversation with us and there was even a very good magician there that night. Matsuo himself even took a photo with us! Wish we’d gone here earlier in our trip so we could’ve come back again

It was a really fun and interesting restaurant. The owner and the staff were super friendly and welcoming, which made the whole experience even better. One thing I really liked was that we could start ordering drinks while waiting for our table—that was such a nice touch! The bar had a great vibe, very relaxed and lively at the same time. The food was also delicious—every dish we tried was tasty and satisfying. On top of that, the prices were totally reasonable, which made the whole night feel like great value. Overall, it was just a fun and laid-back place to hang out, and I’d definitely go back again.
