I'm really digging this bar's atmosphere, and the food is amazing. If you're a cocktail snob, skip it, but their beer is top-notch.

The craft beer was the best I had in Samarkand. The "PULSAR" in particular was extremely fresh and mellow. this beer can tell it comes directly from the factory next door. There was live piano and accordion music around 8pm. The British-inspired design and villa-like atmosphere made for a moody space.

A bar/restaurant in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. Decent beer and food options, and prices were great. Staff were attentive and spoke pretty good English, which made my life easier. Indoor and outdoor seating is available, and the AC kept indoor temperatures comfortable.

I loved this bar! There’s some great decor and large tables inside and the staff behind the bar are genuinely helpful in finding a drink from the large range which is suitable. Sitting outside is a delight though, with comfortable seating and table sizes suited to any group size. In the evening some music provided a great atmosphere but even during the day the relaxing vibe is great. The waiting staff were attentive and quick throughout my visit. The drinks menu lists a few bar snacks but there is a separate a full food menu on offer. The selection of food is very wide, from small plates to very large barbecued platters. The mini khachapuri were the perfect starter and so tasty, despite the egg not being runny. And the lamb chops for main were some of the best I’ve ever had - cooked perfectly and while not the largest, five made up for it! Presentation of all the dishes was super and the value for money incredible. Well worth taking a detour to check this place out and one of the highlights of my time in the city!

A great place with a large selection of dishes, reasonable prices and VERY tasty steaks. I even sampled a rib eye steak and ordered a well done roast, and the steak was superbly cooked. I was satisfied and will come back again.

Amazing place, live pianist at night. Food was great and not too expensive. Beer for 1,20$ CAD, that's a yes!! Nice atmosphere, the only downside is that people are allowed to smoke inside, so if you're not a smoker, it's not ideal.

Blues Bar is a fantastic spot for a fun evening! The cocktail menu is spot-on — tasty, creative, and pleasantly affordable. Huge shoutout to bartender Nikita for lifting the spirits (both literally and figuratively!) with amazing cocktails and great vibes all night. The place has a cool, relaxed atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer. The only hiccup: smoking is allowed inside, and especially in the restroom, the smoke hangs so thick you might need a compass to find your way out! But all jokes aside, it’s a great bar where you can enjoy delicious drinks and a lively mood. Definitely worth a visit!

A fun and original spot in Samarkand. The atmosphere is unique for the city and it’s a good place to enjoy music and have a beer with friends. However, the service was disappointing — the waiter seemed indifferent and disengaged. If you’re looking for a casual evening with decent vibes, this works. But if you expect warm service and a well-made sparkling gin and tonic, this probably isn’t the right place.

We had a blonde girl who served us who was helpful. This place generally has a nice atmosphere sitting outside and blankets to keep warm. One person was incredibly drunk to the point of not being able to walk and you have to question how staff had let him get that way, only interfering when he collapsed on a bench, preventing a table being used. Aside from that there was no bother. Only one toilet seems to be available

Very disappointing experience. Wherever I sat, the staff kept saying the tables were “reserved,” even though many were empty. When I finally sat near the terrace, they said it was also reserved and only the bar was open. No one offered me a menu or any help, and the staff seemed uninterested in serving solo guests. Definitely not recommended for travelers looking for good service in Samarkand.

The bar is apparently split into two locations (?) and the one shown in most of the photos isn't open until 7pm. The one I was at didn't have any draft beer and only 3 types of bottled beer available. The third beer I ordered came at room temperature but they willingly provided me with ice. The mushroom soup was good and the quesadilla was fine, but a bit bland. I would NOT recommend the nachos with guacamole. First, the chips are not plain tortilla chips, but flavored. Second, I don't know what the "guacamole" is made out of, but it 100% is not avocado. The taste and texture made that abundantly clear. The restaurant also has no chill whatsoever and charged me 12Ksom for lemon that I requested to try to fix up the "guacamole" a bit. The service was quick and friendly and mostly in English.

Waited 2+ hours for soup and a fish; after 1.5 hrs asked where the fish was only then to be told they didn't have the fish !!! Waitstaff was absolutely incompetent, people were vaping and playing videos on their phone at max volume. Of the 6 in our party, only 2 got their full order. Avoid this place!!!

It's called the barrel because, erm, it's all wooden inside? not sure about barrel, more like something from the wild west, but the little booths actually work and it's a surprisingly nice little bar. Beer range is the usual Pulsar stuff, maybe a couple more than most of the other bars.

⚠️ BEWARE ⚠️ ask for prices upfront and be careful not to fall for the 'free' snacks they bring - you're charged for it all in the bill. Beers are brought before you even finish your current one, even if not asked for. All basic tourist scamming stuff but the sausage were tasty. 2 people, 4 beers (2 of which we didn't order) 508,000som. I'm surprised they don't charge you for the air you breathe. The manager couldn't even hide his smirk as we paid. Even the tastiest of sausages won't get rid of the bitter taste in your mouth as you leave.

Lovely place next to the beer factory. Freshest beer, fantastic shashlik and sausages. Service is also exceptional. Not far from the train station if you want to grab dinner prior to departure.

Loved the traditional pub design and atmosphere- the only one of it's kind we found in 2 weeks travelling Uzbekistan. Locals and staff were friendly and welcoming despite the language barrier! There was no menu, but a selection of sausages and meat kebabs were available at the chiller counter for you to choose and have grilled. Everything was pretty tasty and very well priced. Definitely recommend- we visited a few times during our stay in Samarkand.

One of the best bars on the street. Miscommunication incident when we arrived. The guy tried to tell us the bar was full and turn us away even though there was nobody there. Turned out it was just the outside which is reserved mainly for locals. The real atmosphere inside. The bar man doesn’t smile at all and but the rest of the staff are friendly, chatty and welcoming. Draft beer choice was limited - only 3 available. Still a good overall experience.

It’s located at the rooftop/3rd floor of the East Star Hotel. The restaurant has retractable roofs so don’t worry if it’s raining. The food here was tasty. Every meat was cooked perfectly, not overcooked like most restaurants in the city. The portion of the salads is quite big. The service was good. Although with limited English skills, but still much better than other places in Uzbekistan, they were extremely helpful and did their best to make sure we have everything that we needed. Just use simple words and not full sentences as they might not understand your accent. 15% service fee is already included in the bill so you don’t hv to give extra tip. Unless you want to.

I have never experienced anything like this. It started off well. We arrived for dinner and were brought to our table. Took a while to place our order but all done relatively efficiently. Our drinks were brought quickly. We were waiting a while for starters, maybe 30min. Starters were good (sushi, lentil soup). Then the trouble began! We waited for our mains. And we waited. And we waited some more. About 40mins after the starters were cleared we enquired about the mains. We were told '9 minutes '. Interestingly specific time so we thought ok let's see. Another 15min later, no food. So I asked again. Different waiter (no communication between any of them). He said 2 minutes. I said ok but I'm only waiting 2 minutes. He looked worried. Obviously the food wasn't going to be ready in that time. So, 5 minutes later, no mains in sight so we left. In fairness to the second waiter, he was very apologetic but really we were there so long, the restaurant was almost empty (late enough mid week) and there were about 6 waiting staff standing around not asking themselves if there might be a reason we were sitting there so long! I've never before left without waiting for the ordered dishes but it was ridiculous. A shame really as the food we did have was good.

Really nice terrace restaurant in the East star hotel, very good service (took some time to get food but we’ve found that’s common in Central Asia), but attentive staff. Menu with good choice international cuisine not so much local food. Really good cocktails especially espresso martini. Good choice of local beer for a good price. Live music! Would eat here agin :)

I had a Great experience with this restraint and the food is very delicious and tasty. The Service is Fantastic Because they actually serve cola zero unlike other restaurants in Samarkand. The seats are comfy and the place feels luxurious they could work with the view tho. Overall, my experience with this restaurants is excellent and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to people I know when visiting Samarkand.

We enjoyed Sirius from the moment the lovely lady in the hotel lobby escorted us to our table on the rooftop terrace. The waiters spoke passable English and were happy to explain the menu. Sirius is the first restaurant in Central Asia that delivered our medium-rare tenderloin cooked less than very well done; it was medium but still the best of the rest. The food was excellent. A real highlight was the strolling alto sax player who is quite good.

I am awaring food stars to music selection - with that I would like to start off my review of this fantast place! Great rock songs the best decades and we still were able to chat casually. The beer is flawless! Especially helles, new england IPA and weissbier tasted amazing. There is plenty of room, prices are fine and we are already sad to be leaving, back home where such bars died out :( all the best to you!

One of if not the best bar in Samarkand, they got a huge selection of beers on the tab, all locally brewed and they also offer many delicious cocktails. The staff is really nice and the music is on point to really create that pub vibe. The only thing they could improve on is the interior which is a bit bland, its therefore better to sit outside. If you want to enjoy a nice beer/cocktail in Samarkand, go here!

Not only did I not expect to find craft beer in Samarkand but I did not expect it to be good. They didn’t have everything that was on the beer menu but they served up a full-bodied stout that was perfect for a chilly rainy night in one of the oldest cities on Earth. Great dumplings too! The first really tasty beer I met in Uzbekistan so far! Price is not cheap, 35k to 50k som for a pint, but it definitely worths it. The food is somehow basic, but very tasty. And price is reasonable considering the location, eg. 25k som for one skewer of chicken shashlik. The owner, who is probably Russian, is friendly and speaks also very good English. Service is sometimes slow and there's only one toilet for the whole pub.

Great beer, great food, great music, and great service! I was pumped when I saw that Sam Craft Pub was a few hundred feet from my hotel, so I stopped in for a quick bite and drink. Fantastic beer options, and the burger and fries were excellent! Zeke was also great to chat with! It is only a few minutes from the Registan square, so stop by and reward yourself! We came out here at a lunchtime and the aesthetic, with murals on the wall is nice - they have a nice outside space. They have a large menu, but we didn't want to eat - we just had beers, which were good and very cheap. I love this place. We went there three times during our stay. It's hidden on the side of "pub street" by the side entrance to the beautiful Dinamo stadium. They make really good (and cheap!) steak. It was rather well done every time but taste-wise it's excellent. They also serve beer fresh from nearby brewery.

One of the best clubs in the entire country I don’t remember such good clubs even in Tashkent. Some staff also speak very good English, just remember if you use or book the table you pay $100 deposit which you can utilise to have food n drinks.

They have very nice craft beers, which is great. However, it's a pity they don't sell food or even a few snacks to accompany the beer. For beer enthusiasts, the place is nice as you can try different Uzbek beers. Or it would be even better if there was a nearby restaurant where you could enjoy these beers with some food.

Great little hole in the wall stop for locally brewed beer. 4 beers on tap and they were all delicious. Alternatively you can also take away 1L plastic bottles of beer to enjoy. When we arrived it was empty but by the time we left it was filled with locals and tourists alike. We came back twice.

I think thats the only place that serve quality crafr beer in Samarkant. They have another store around the corner that i went to. Price is very reasonable (~28k to 34k) per pint compare to places nearby that cost ~ 30k for commercial beer. Great place to grab a drink if you are waiting for the light show in registan square.

Wonderful beer joint in the heart of the tourist area, and he serves really tasty local beers. There are only three chairs and maybe another seven-eight person can stand and drink. He has salted nuts, cashew-almonds etc. Clean cozy place, worth a visit!

Perfect location! Samarkand is a safe and very walkable city, and the Billuri Sitora is perfectly situated in the heart of it all. It’s got old time flare with modern amenities and has the feel of a real family operation. The best part is, when you’re here you feel like part of the family. Great value, great courtyard and a quietly setback location. Wouldn’t have wanted to stay anywhere else. If I have one negative, it’s the breakfast. It’s only served from 7:30-9:00 and isn’t worth getting up for.

Wonderful Stay – Highly Recommended! I had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming, and I was even allowed to check in early, which was a big plus. The breakfast was beautifully arranged and delicious – especially the melons, which were absolutely amazing! My stay with my 3 international friends was wonderful! Homemade breakfasts, easy walkability to the nearby bazaar and historical sites, quiet and elevated accommodations all contributed to a great stay. Importantly, the hotel manager went above & beyond to keep us informed about local activities, helped with all our taxis, and any questions we had about Samarkand. Us 4 couldn’t be more satisfied and grateful!

Recently stayed here in Room 124. The room carpet was torn and the door to the room did not allow for privacy as it had frosted glass panels in it. Room was also right next to smoking chairs. Perhaps owners could install a blind or curtain over the room door to allow for privacy. Housekeeping did not provide water on the second day of my stay. Hotel is not close to any sites. Breakfast buffet was delicious and bountiful. Would not stay here again.

I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Billuri. The rooms were spacious, and the beds were exceptionally comfortable. Samander, who speaks fluent English, was always available and incredibly helpful throughout my visit. The hotel is conveniently located near several major attractions—Registan Square, for example, is just a 25-minute walk away. I’ll definitely be staying here again when I return to Samarkand.

Tiny cafe next to a local shopping mall. The cafe is small but it gets a great variety of choices for food and drinks ! Atmosphere is cozy and relaxing. Drink is in high quality but it takes a long time for preparation ! Get alternative milk options which is not common in Uzbekistan!

As vegetarians who prefer milk alternatives we were really glad to find Hleb. The staff are lovely and welcoming and the food is great. We went twice, unfortunately on the first visit there were a few misunderstandings, due to language barriers, with the order which were funny and, luckily, vegetarian so we could still eat and enjoy. Poor things, the women there must have thought we were mad! Everything we tried to do to fix it seem to make it worse and it became a comedy. One little suggestion would be a bit of background music.

Such an amazing win & find in Samarkand. My partner and I often struggled to find cafes at times that we 100% trusted, but we continuously kept going back here and felt so good after! All her food is incredibly fresh, healthy and feels almost organic in the body. Especially the sourdough bread she makes!! 10/10 would recommend :)
