The 50 best bars and drinks in Bergamo

Huge disappointment as for the restaurant you can find in the Michelin Guide. The dishes were served cold and, what’s more important, prepared without any imagination (you would expect that from the restaurant on the Michelin Guise list). Simple lamb (meat not cleaned properly) served with grilled pieces of vegetables, and tuna (as a fish of a day). The only interesting one was “Xiao Long Bao”, with some kind of character. But that’s it. Moreover, wine list is on 88 (!) pages, as this is a wine shop. But… the waiter couldn’t recommend anything, simply asking us if we want red, white or sparkling. I would call it: funny and unprofessional. We ordered red, for the price of not more than 40€. We got it. Relief. On top of that: the restaurant is in the residential area, far away from Cita Bassa. We have specially selected this place, as we have never been disappointed by the Michelin recommendation. Ane we wanted to celebrate our visit to Bergamo. Anyway: stay away from this place. Don’t go there: it’s a waste of time and money.

Outstanding service and an overall fantastic experience. I came to the restaurant a little too late to enjoy the food, however the kitchen prepared a set of snack and cheese for me to go with my wine. The staff was excellent and my waiter took the time to ask me about the kind of wine I like and what I am looking for. He opened a bottle of a very nice Cuoredivino 2018 which I really enjoyed. The music was charming as well. I highly recommend this place for a social meeting, romantic date or simply just to sit down and enjoy a beautiful glass of vino. Absolutely flawless experience.

Great restaurant located in Bergamo! The place is well-finished with a large collection of wines and modern paintings. The waiters are professional and well prepared. Moreover, both the ingredients and the cuisine are refined. All the flavours are valorised and food plating is in line with Michelin-starred restaurants. I really appreciated the pigeon, one of the most tricky meats, as well as the fish appetiser. Special experience!!! Strongly suggest!

I really enjoyed visiting this restaurant tucked away in the back streets of Bergamo (although only about a 10 minute walk from centre). The food was great. The welcome friendly and a nice buzzy atmosphere. Interesting design wise and definitely worth revisiting.

The place has an amazing atmosphere. It is worth to travel here from the historical center of Bergamo. Especially the finger food, the small dishes, are very tasty.

Firstly, the kitchen works during siesta time. We decided to eat some local food casoncelli alla bergamasca and cotoletta alla Milansese. The portions were big and really tasty. Moreover, the service was really nice and professional. I recommemd this place!

I have been there a couple couple of times First thing to mention is that do not expect pizza to be like a normal pizza they cook it differently The first time I ordered pizza, it taste it not really good but the second time I ordered this pizza that I already uploaded the image. It was perfect. They will charge you three euros for the service which wasn’t really fair for a pizza but to have a conclusion I think this bar and restaurant is a good one and I don’t know why they have the rate of 3.9 and I think they deserve more than that. We stumbled across this little gem on a short trip to Bergamo. The restaurant is so welcoming and the decor is gorgeous. The wine section was great, the service was fantastic and the free antipasti with each glass of wine was to die for would highly recommend.

This is the best GLUTEN FREE restaurant in the area. The menu has many GF options and the service is very good. I would suggest making a reservation during week-ends because it was quite full. Gourmet food with local ingredients.

I dined solo for the evening. I walked in and asked for a table and was seated somewhere towards the back for a nice quiet meal. The music was a fantastic playlist to go along with the food. I had excellent service with the waitress taking care of me for my time there. She made some excellent recommendations for the evening. They have many gluten free options to choose from here. Reading some of the other reviews was unfortunate to read. I had the opposite experience with my visit to this place without a reservation and walking in. I will definitely dine here again if I’m the Bergamo area.

Very classy wine bar. This is the second premises to the main restaurant / wine bar. Staff were very helpful and kind. Fantastic wine list and we picked our bottle from the shelf. We ordered Parma ham platters, bread and oil, cheese boards, olives etc. I love this place and will definitely return. Met the owner who was lovely. All staff attentive and pleasant. Went to Donizetti at the end of January. The food was spectacular, the local wine pairing was amazing and their desserts oh, but oh so good! We also enjoyed our server who was very nice, on top of things and knowledgeable. Ordered the Casoncelli, the Polenta e formai e speck, and the Spedo di Manzo. Everyone loved their meal!

Its all about the food. Decor is comfortably rustic in a setting that is almost more out than in on a warm September evening. A variety of traditional pasta dishes with a very local vibe and seasonal ingredients. The charcuterie and cheese is a delight. I had a pasta dish which was so good I ordered the same again, fortunately the staff were happy to provide a child's portion at a reduced price or I would have exploded. I followed this up with a cheese platter of 6 different local cheeses which I shared with my wife. They were all excellent and craftily arranged in strength order from mild to challenging. Probably the very best cheeses I have eaten in the last 10 years and I love cheese. We had a starting glass of local franciacorta sparkling wine with a bottle of robust local red for the pasta and cheese. Altogether a memorable meal in a memorable place. You can find cheaper places to eat in Bergamo Alta, but I doubt you will find better.

A small cafe/restaurant on the corner of the piazza where I enjoyed an aperol spritz in the sunshine. The staff were friendly and the service was good with complimentary, crisps,olives and peanuts. Grazie.. I didn't eat here, hence no food rating.

A really good experience at Bar Flora, we attempted to pay by card but had issues so were double charged. The manager, Luca, helped us out promptly upon our return home and refunded us. Other than that, hidden gem in Bergamo. More reasonably priced than most of the other big city bars, and with great food and drink. What more can you ask for?

We had a great time in Bar Flora, the service was amazing and the food and drinks were great. The friendly and super efficient staff handled everything perfectly, especially Jasmin and Shermin who are the gems of the bar. They had prepared food as we had ordered and also prepared gluten free portion for one of my guests, really appreciate it.

It was Sunday afternoon when we arrived, and all the tables were full, so we grabbed some drinks and sat at the counter just outside the bar. The staff were friendly, and we were especially struck by a beautiful girl with a warm smile who had just started working there as she said. She made the experience even more pleasant!

I see in the reviews there are people who had the same experience about their rude and ignorant service: We asked for a table and the waitress impatiently pointed one and NEVER came to take order while busy serving others came after us. I had to go to cassa and complained to others to finally got our cappuccinos after almost 20minutes. To the ignorant waitresses: Serving people is your job. You may not like it but at least be worthy for your paycheck.

Came for drinks in the afternoon. Staff were really attentive and helpful so we decided to return the following day for brunch. It was very busy but staff were not rushed yet seemed to be ignoring us. We finally ordered avocado on toast was very disappointed when it arrived as it wasn’t actual avocado but what looked and tasted like supermarket guacamole and cheap bread. It was very expensive for what we actually got! Also waited ages for drinks to arrive and when they did my latte was cold. We then tried for ages to get staff attention to ask for bill. Then were given a receipt and told to queue at the till to pay though we’d seen other people paying at the table and had paid at the table the day before.

Very helpful / kind service, If you're visiting the city it's a good stop for you to get breakfast and enjoy the atmosphere of Bergamo. Food is filling and coffee is delicious. Asked for toast, got toast. 10/10

I loved the look of this Cafe. I was craving a pistachio croissant and Googled the nearest place, that's why I visited here. However, the croissant was not fresh (maybe a day old), but I still enjoyed it. If you have a sweet tooth, then you will love the 'filled' croissant here. I thought the cream was way too sweet, and it wasn't distributed evenly throughout the croissant. (It was nothing like I had in Venice, but it settled the pistachio craving) The weather was great, so I ate at the park directly across the Cafe to enjoy the sun.

So bad experience, I ordered Franciacorta, but they brought me Champagne 13€ per glass, with no added information. After paying the bill, they said they stopped offering Franciacorta per glass. So bad service.

Decided to try this place based on reviews and storefront attraction of jams and cozy inside. Got a latte and it was well balanced. It was great. Also ordered polenta and the cream inside was great. I also ordered pear juice while not their own, it was great. The location is great right in the old town and fantastic cozy ambiance. Love this cafe. My dad took me here 20 years ago. Coffee and atmosphere amazing. I re attended 19 and 18 years ago so was delighted to go back when on Holiday the last few days. By chance I saw this fancy looking cafe/patisserie offered a lunch menu. Went in to check the prices and found a very affordable weekday lunch deal. We were 4 adults and ended up sharing 2 x lunch deals which gave us 4 primi dishes, 2 cakes, 2 waters 250ml, and 2 espressos for the very reasonable price of €44. No coperto but they still gave us a generous portion of bread. The table service was top notch, and the interior decor was beautiful, dining room was quiet tucked away at the back far from the busy street. Food was excellent; meatballs and polenta was creamy and flavorful, casoncelli and trofie al pesto pastas were delicious. Admittedly the size of the primi dishes are not massive, someone with a big appetite might want the €22 deal for just one person, but this was adequate for us, especially with the addition of the bread and dessert. For dessert you got to choose from a selection of tea cakes in the middle table; the pistachio strawberry was top notch. This special menu pricing was not advertised anywhere outside the cafe so I am very glad I went in to check!

Panino Giusto at Orio al Serio Airport in Bergamo Milano offers an impressive dining experience despite the bustling airport environment. The sandwiches, as expected, are amazing. I enjoyed a smoked praga sandwich, while my girlfriend had a salmon one. Both were delicious and maintained the high standard that Panino Giusto is known for. The service was commendable, and we appreciated having a place to sit down and relax even though the airport was quite crowded. The spritz drinks we ordered were also quite good, adding to the overall pleasant experience. However, the price is on the higher side. Spending 15 euros for a sandwich feels steep, which is something to consider. Despite the cost, Panino Giusto provides a nice spot to unwind before a flight, with quality food and drink in a comfortable setting.

If you come from a Foreign Country you need to try Panino Giusto, it’s the real big company that do fast food but with the Italian quality and products. You will spend more than an avarage fast food but it’s really the best panino that you can eat in Italy. I ate Esagerato and Baita that they are amazing, dessert and coffee are good too, it’s not my first time in this place. Unfortunately it’s located this in the airport so it’s loud as all Italian people, but is the best place to eat if you’re waiting your flight.

Had a one-hour break at the airport and decided to skip the usual McDonald’s (which is just across) and try this place instead, and….what a great decision! We had two paninis, the Tartufo and something like Jolly, and they were honestly incredible, considering that it was an airport food. Spent 19 EUR for two incredibly delicious vegetarian sandwiches. We were blown away by how good they were and would have wanted more. They were prepared quite quickly. We didn't seat at their table as there was a 15 minute waiting time, but we got the food to go and sat at the common area tables. Out of all the eating options available in the Bergamo Airport, this place is definitely worth it.

Bought the absolute cheapest thing on the menu (a tiny ham-and-cheese toast, €7.80!) just so I could use a socket and charge my phone as there’re no sockets in the airport. After I paid and sat down, the waitress came over and told me I’d have to spend more money if I wanted to sit at a table. Total scammy attitude they just want to squeeze every cent out of you. Honestly felt unwelcome and ripped off.

The place is very welcoming, with a nice, warm atmosphere and, despite the small area, it doesn't feel cramped. Their best asset is a very vast tea selection, with high quality leaves and a wide array of flavours, with more than reasonable prices. As for the food, they have a good selection of pastries, in which you can find many vegan or gluten free options, as well as a few of both. However, because of the choice of flour, some sweets feel a bit dry, so I recommend always ordering with a nice beverage.

Most people wouldn't notice this place since its entrance is a bit hidden and there's no clear indication, but Pasqualina is one of the best places in downtown Bergamo: you may stop by just for a quick coffee (which is really good on its own) but I recommend also asking for a chocolate treat (my favourite is the on with pistachio). Or you can stop here and have lunch on the second floor: tasty mixed salads, rice or fish plates: the menu offers rich and healthy combinations for a great meal. The interiors are very nicely decorated and staff is always nice and welcoming.

Nice atmosphere before Christmas 2022. Pedestrian areas, shopping district, high street, coffee shops, a small ferris wheel and Christmas Markets as well nearby. A beautiful part of the lower city where You can stroll quietly to spend some spare time.

It is also very close to the Bergamo train station. Very tasty food and good coffee. I was looking for a croissant with pistach and they had exactly this. Also I got the croissant with nocciolla and the taste was amazing. For brunch I ate Panino Il Sublime and I was very satisfied, it execede my expectation. On the other side service was a little bit of, coffee was served to go even if I had a table, the sandwich was forgoten in the owen and the tables cleaned with some delay.

A slice of pizza, a focaccia, a Sicilian arancino... You choose the Italian snack from this take away fast food. Sandwiches, focaccias and pizza are freshly are made there in the kitchen. Other food arrives frozen and they just microwave before going on the shelf, unfortunately there are no signs about it. Recommended is the focaccia di Recco (a city next to Genoa) very difficult to find out of Liguria.

1 star is the perfect rating for this bar. Overpriced, low quality products, is just a turist trap just like any other bar you will find here, they are owned by the same busines that changes name to trick you into believing you have freedom of choice. The only pro is the tortellini option, still Overpriced but they are actually good if you can go beyond the 10 euros per portion. Also during summer its infested with flies.

Very busy spot for dinner special at the weekend. Reservation was needed. We have ordered Rabit with polenta, beef with polenta and two pizzas + bottle of red wine and 2 Coca Cola paid around 80 euros with coperto. We didn’t have to wait long for our order. Everything was tasty. Portion was not to big. If you order only one dish (no starters) you might be a little bit hungry but then you have a space for dessert so overall is good👍

Arrived in Bergamo and had to try this place despite a couple of dodgy reviews. Walked in about 6pm and were immediately sat at a nice table. My family and I had a fantastic time. Great food (the steak was awesome!), really friendly staff who were helpful on food and wine selections and great fun. We were sat upstairs and we all commented how good the acoustics were for conversation at the table in a reasonably full restaurant by the time we left at about 9:30pm. As for the slightly negative reviews on here… Hey everyone has an off day, don’t let that put you off this great establishment. Cost wise… €170 for 4 people having 2-3 courses each, soft drinks and a decent bottle of local wine to complement the steak. We felt that was very reasonable considering the quality of the experience. We could easily have dined there without deserts and the alcoholic beverages for well under €100

Great restaurant at citta alta with a lot of local products. They offer a variety of local cuisine, beer, wines, pizza and sweets. When we went it was packed and had quite a wait time, so it was a good thing we had a reservation in advance. The dishes were great and the pizza was very light.

The pizzas were light and crispy, while the Caprese salad featured ripe, juicy tomatoes and a whole mozzarella, perfectly seasoned with fresh herbs. Very reasonably priced. I went to this restaurant with my girlfriend and two other couples. My friends quite like the food but our dishes weren't of the quaility I'd expected. The Bergamo-styled rabbit was dry and had too many bones for my taste. Pasta was good but I'd tried better ones. Having a chance to be at the main square at the centre of the old town was really pleasant as we listened to local musicians. At the end of the night we had to wait for 30 minutes until we finally got the bill and paid as waiters were quite slow.

I believe this is the best restaurant in Bergamo. I stayed in the city for three days and came back here every single day because the food was delicious, the atmosphere was beautiful, and the prices were very reasonable. Everything was fresh, full of flavor, and served with great care. It truly felt like the heart of Bergamo’s hospitality.

Its a very nice location in Piazza Vecchia where you can take breakfast, i had one Caffe Aromatizzato Alla Nocciola which was so small.. not so tasty. The gem croissant was ok. Its nice that you can stay out and enjoy sun, view.

There was no waiting for a table even though the restaurant is always full, the service is excellent, the waiters are very helpful, the prices are high for the amount you get. If you sit outside the restaurant, the atmosphere is great because the restaurant is located on the square itself, while the inside of the restaurant exudes history and creates an additional atmosphere and ambiance while tasting the dishes of that region.

The carbonara was only warm, the taste was average. The guanciale was not crispy, but completely hard, there was little sauce. The lasagna was very strangely prepared and had a poor taste.

My husband and I researched restaurants in Bergamo before we left the UK. We came across this delightful restaurant online and called to book a table on the terrace for the evening we arrived. Well, what can we say! It delivered beyond our expectations in every way. We took the funicular railway and a few steps from the terminal & we had arrived at the restaurant with its outstanding view and twinkling lights. It was such a pretty setting. The buzz from the people dining on the terrace was just lovely, and we received exceptional service from the staff. Nothing was too much trouble and they were very friendly too. The menu choices were amazing, and the food was incredible! Every dish had flavours that set your taste buds going. We had a lovely rose wine recommended by their wine waiter, which did not disappoint. All in all, we had a truly wonderful evening, and we will treasure our memories of our time spent here. Highly recommended. Pay a visit when in Bergamo, you will not be disappointed!

We found out about this place from the Michelin guide and this was actually a second visit. We went in without a reservation and the staff were super accommodating. The food is so good, it has a familiar feel, like good ol' homecooked meals but with a special twist. I especially enjoyed the pumpkin appetizer, the carbonara and the truffle pasta. Not to mention the pittoresque setting which was so cozy in a rainy day.

Had an excellent dinner here Aug 31st. It was hard to choose whether to sit inside or outside as the inside is so beautiful, and the outdoor view is amazing. Excellent young lady server took care of us and the food was amazing. Grazie.

One of the best experiences I ever had in Italy, amazing food, great staff. I would totally recommend this eating journey. We got here by accident just visiting Bergamo after some busy days in Milan, and were kinda disappointed to be honest. But I do recommend Bergamo and especially this restaurant. This is a Michelin star restaurant so you can expect prices to be high, but you do great food and great service. The food was amazing although I ordered the Cod with Polenta and expected it quite different but still delicious. I was able to taste the Octopus as a main dish and this was magnificent. A nice touch was all the complimentary little dishes in between courses and with the coffee. We were a party of 11 so I was lucky to try different starters and main courses and all the meals were exceptional. We had a lovely Bergamo white which was fruity and complimented our courses which were all mainly fish courses. A meal at this restaurant is not cheap but it's a culinary experience worth indulging in. I have to mention the excellent customer service which was delivered with professionalism and cheerfulness. There is only one thing that lets this restaurant down, and that is the toilets. First, they need to be cleaned during the clients being there as it gives a bad impression when there is no toilet paper or hand wipes.

We visited this restaurant for the second time during a short family holiday at the beginning of September. This allows me to modify my previous review based on the food tasting. The pizza is delicious, with perfect dough, excellent toppings and seasoning. The staff are very efficient and discreet. I like that you can pay at the cashier on your way out. The biggest advantage of this restaurant is the view from the terrace. The view is worth every penny. :)

WOW. A must visit restaurant. A lovely walk up a long cobbled hill. The menu had changed and I couldn't see a vegan opinion. The waitress asked the kitchen and they made me a vegetable ragu with tagliatelle. It was excellent. The view from the open patio door was spectacular. Waiter service was attentive but not overpowering. A really nice, relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend.

The restaurant offers truly excellent food and authentic local Italian cuisine. I had one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten, and the beautiful views made the experience even more special. However, I would kindly suggest that the staff try to be a bit warmer and more relaxed, as the atmosphere could then match the wonderful quality of the food.

One of the best views ever. Overseeing the whole of Bergamo and the amazing hills and mountains. The food was delicious. It is a mix of local Bergamaschi dishes like rabbit stew with polenta, and lovely tuna stake , they were kind enough to arrange a big table for us that would still come with a view and keep it as we were late due to traffic. The tiramisù was perfect and they have a very good variety of vines. It is a busy place and i reccomend you book and come on time.

This place is a vibe. Right next to the cathedrals in Piazza Vecchia in Bergamo Alta, tucked away in the corner is a nice caffe that can get busy at times. Great for a brioche and espresso in the morning or aperitivo as the sunlight dances along the facades as the day concludes, this place is great to leisurely spend your time, either by yourself, a loved one, or friends.

After staying a few nights we tried this restaurant for our last night. The food was fantastic and fairly priced, the service was exceptional! This is the first restaurant where we felt there was no rush to move us on, a very enjoyable night. Would highly recommend.

Really not impressive. The food itself was tasty, but I got served not even half a glass of amaretto with ice. The bread we got with the food was pretty stale. The service was good 👍

Some of the waiters were very good and the atmosphere is nice. They were able to find us a table for 6 at 10pm, but the rest was disappointing. Some of the food looked bad visually, but I did like the salmon tartar, and my lasagne was half dry due to it not being fresh and only microwaved. Also, one waiter spilled a glass of wine, barely apologised, and we had to ask for additional glass due to the discomfort. The bread was also dry and tasteless.

Great soft jazz music playing. Delicious pizza, actually one of the best we have had and the tiramisu was fantastic! I would recommend!

Our first stop for lunch when we arrived in Bergamo, as it’s strategically near the bus stop from the airport. We have cheese platter, which was super nice and delicious, pizza with anchovy i can’t remember the name it was great and tomato tuna pasta was just ok as the pasta texture is too chewy for my liking. However the service was excellent and the waitress that day gave a funny cute look when I’ve ordered the cappuccino at 2pm!! Didn’t know it was illegal to have cappuccino in the noon time LOL, considering im a tourist and it counted as dessert.

Food wasn’t exciting at all. The mussels were raw, pizza tasteless and the beef was kind of ok. The service was very good.

The food at atmosphere here were amazing! However, towards the end of our meal, the service slowed down. It seemed there were only two waitresses serving all the tables. It took 35 mins for us to get the bill. Which is a shame because this was the best meal we had during our stay!

We found the restaurant by walking around because it caught our eyes. The prices are decent for Bergamo (we paid 50 euros for two pasta + 1 cocktail + water + 1 dessert).Before your meal arrives you are served with fresh bread and croquettes.The dish I recommend is the traditional Bergamo pasta they have in the menu. Food was great and the cocktails were amazing.

We popped in for a night cap and received a warm welcome and were given advice on the local beers. Sadly, football was on at full volume, which made chatting difficult. I didn't have anything to eat, so in fairness, there was no star rating on the food. Noisy sports or not. I enjoyed my beer in this authentic Italian bar.

We enjoyed the food a lot. The snack for two, amazing polenta with mushrooms, cheese, and meats, is great in a local casual atmosphere. The staff was nice, and we had several types of beers. It's a great spot.

Food and drinks were good. Watch out when you take starter for 2 persons with ham and cheeses - I do not recommend to take it together with main course because it's huge. When it comes to service i was not really happy. Waiters do not even know simple words in english it's difficult to communicate. They forgot orders, I had to remind them after couple of min waiting for a wine. We waited for a bill 20 min asking waiter 3 times when will it come. At third time we relized that maybe we should pay at the bar - waiter failed to communicate that, I think even if you do not know english it is possible, it's only about goodwill.

The beer was reasonably priced at 6.5€ for a medium Paulaner or Chouffe, but we could not seem to get the attention of the server to order new drinks. When we did, we were not greeted with the hospitality that you might expect. We did get some complementary peanuts, olives, and chips. The location itself is also quite cozy.

A good bar that also offers hot food. I don't say "fresh" because the lasagna and pasta were heated rather than cooked after our order, but that's okay because it's not a restaurant. We went here early in the morning when many other places in the area were closed. Overall, we were happy with the prices and service.

I had a really pleasant lunch experience here. I was seated right away at an outdoor table of my choice, which was a great start. The waiter spoke English very well, so communication was smooth and easy. I ordered the tagliatelle in Bergamozza style, and the food arrived in about 10–15 minutes — a very nice surprise considering how long meals can sometimes take. The pasta was absolutely delicious and full of flavor. After the meal, I ordered a coffee which was served immediately — hot and just the way I like it. The service throughout was friendly and efficient. Prices were also very reasonable: €14 for the tagliatelle and €2 for the coffee. Tap water and bread came to the house. Great value for such quality food and service. Overall, I was very pleased and would definitely come back!

We bought drunk to go, then we decided to just sit for a while till we finish drink. Waitress come to stop us that we can not sit. I asked her if I can order something like snack or chips she said no. Very unpleasant and arrogant. And not nice experience from Italy…. A really pretty restaurant in Piazza Lorenzo Mascheroni. The food was excellent — we had pinsa and lasagna, and both were very tasty. The waitresses were friendly, and the whole experience was a lovely surprise.

This is a fabulous place to visit for a few daytime drinks. There are some unique cocktails on the menu which all sound great. I really enjoyed the Americhinato. It was a slightly bitter drink, but very refreshing and tasty. The seating area inside is small, but there is also plenty of seating outside. We also ordered a little piece of cantucci with our drinks. It might sound like an odd pairing, but the crunchy biscuit went perfect with a cocktail. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. You order from the staff at your table, but scan a QR code to view the menu (available in English or Italian). I will definitely visit here again when I next visit Italy as I would like to try the evening cocktail menu.

Food is overrated and just ok. We paid 14€ for quite a poor salad and 10€ for 3 small pieces of bread with cheese and an anchovie...limited vegeterian options in the menu. To have a drink, maybe I would recommend as location is quite nice but for food there are way better options and cheaper in the area

Extensive food & drink menu. We had ordered easily from the menu and our drinks & food arrived promptly. The staff were friendly and efficient. Nice atmosphere in this fairly authentic Irish pub. Lots of big tv screens and eclectic selection of music playing in background. The food we had was delicious, hot & tasty. With 2 mains, 2 desserts & 3 large beers, our bill was €50. Excellent value.

The staff were professional, helpful and friendly. Service was good. The waitress made great food suggestions. I wanted to check they’d be showing the tennis before I arrived but they didn’t respond to social media messages. Not a big deal in the end as the tennis was on, something to keep in mind maybe.

I had to get his attention and ask for a table for one, he waved his hand around indicating I should choose anywhere, I pointed to a specific table and asked if that was OK, he said it was. I sat for almost 5 minutes and nobody came near me with a menu or to ask what I wanted to drink, so I went up to the bar. I stood directly in front of where the barman was and he ignored me and moved away. A female server then came out from the back and also ignored me, but when a couple came in behind me, she greeted them immediately. I moved to where the barman was and asked for the drink I wanted, he again barely acknowledged me. After a few minutes he then came and asked me what I wanted so I ordered again and asked if he had a menu, he grunted at me that there was a QR code, it was tiny, barely the size of my thumbnail, and no sign indicating what it was, so I don't know how customers are expected to know that is the menu. Anyway, finally got my drink, paid and went back to my seat to look at the menu, then the female server comes up to me. My first thought was, finally they've noticed I'm here, but no... she proceeds to tell me that as I'm on my own, I can't sit where I've chosen, even though the barman said it was OK when he said anywhere and I asked if that specific seat was alright. At that point I'd had enough and told her I was going to finish my drink and leave because the service was sh*t. Would avoid this place at all costs, but especially if you're looking for an authentic Irish pub, this is nothing like the pubs in Ireland... staff in those are friendly, attentive and even remember your name if you return more than once.

Found this pub while walking back to our airbnb from the train station. Kust 5 minutes from the train. Cold beer, fair prices, cool atmosphere, good service. Also had outdoor seating. The food looked good but we only had the popcorn. We closed the place 2 nigjts in a row. Recommended.

It's hard to find a place for breakfast in Bergamo on Sunday! Fortunately, Botega Caffe Cacao is waiting for visitors first thing in the morning. A large selection of delicacies for breakfast and delicious coffee to go with it. There are crowds of visitors from the morning, fortunately, the tables get vacated every now and then. It's worth starting the day with breakfast at this place!

I was looking forward to coming here as a huge pastry fan. Ordered 2 pistachio cornettos, 1 to go and they were severely under filled with just a squirt of pistachio cream on the top. I opened it up to show in full the amount of cream. Very dry and unsatisfying cornettos, nice coffee but due to the disappointing cornettos I cannot recommend it.

I had the Apollo chicken burger at a cafe in the airport, and it was quite good. The ordering process was a bit chaotic, though. After paying, you receive a receipt and need to go to another counter where the food is prepared. It seems to operate on a first-come, first-served basis, which leads to some confusion and a bit of a scramble as people push to get their orders. This system made it take a while to actually get the food. Also, the way they heat the food made the bread and burger a bit soggy from condensation, but the taste was still decent. Prices are higher, as expected at an airport, but they're not too over the top compared to other places.

AWFUL!! i regret going here . when i was looking at what to get , a lady who works there came to us and started shouting on another language and dismissing me , she then said on english that they were closing. Then 2 minutes later i see her at the cash register with customers ( they obviously werent closing she just refused to serve me ) . When i noticed that i went to her and asked her why she refused to serve me , which she explained as : “ i was just pretending not to understand u “ . I had gotten my sandwich only when another worker came by and offered me a service . She is really unproffesionall and i dont know how she still has a job .

Terrible experience at this café. When I politely asked a question in English, the woman at the counter flat-out ignored me and my husband and literally no answer, no effort, nothing. Just a rude attitude then she spoke in Italian which I didn’t even understand. Moments later, she served another customer in Italian with a big smile and full attention. For a café inside an international airport, this is completely unacceptable. Basic courtesy should not depend on which language you speak. I left feeling disrespected and unwelcome. Definitely avoid this place if you expect fair treatment and even the slightest bit of professionalism.

I’m entitled to a food voucher due to severe delay. However, the staff refused to accept my voucher. After I paid and noticed that the voucher is unused, I asked him and the second staff told him that he should accept the voucher. Then he was like: So what do you want now!? I give you another what you paid for? Why do I need same stuff for twice? Especially when it tasted horrible. It’s a complete extortion.

I had an awful experience at this coffee shop. I was handed a receipt and didn’t realise you had to give it back in as never experienced this during my two weeks in Italy, so and put it in the bin. I explained what happened and The cashier confirmed I paid and a barista made the coffee but a third ‘woman’ refused to give it unless I fished it out of the bottom of the bin. The other staff laughing and this third woman screaming at todays entertainment of the stupid tourists. I have never ever experienced rudeness and humiliation like from these people. Please save yourself an awful experience and go elsewhere no coffee is worth this treatment to another a fella human even if they don’t understand your ‘system’.

Fish and chips here are served with Mayonnaise(!) No green beansor lemon. This should be considered as a crime. Beer was fine.

Difficult to know how to rate this place. Needed somewhere to stop off for refreshments after walking up to the old town. This place was conveniently situated but was dead, literally nobody else came in the whole time we were there. They do have an excellent selection of beers, I had a pint of la chouffe and everybody else enjoyed their soft drinks. The bowls of chips also went down a treat. Maybe locals just don't like going to Irish bars at lunch time.

I normally avoid Irish pubs in foreign locations as they tend to be awful. However, on this ocassion after 3 weeks of travelling I just fancied a little taste of home. We ordered 2 pints of Kilkenny, the Tuscan Burger and the Irish Stew. The burger was completely raw. When I mentioned it to the staff, they asked If I wanted it well done. It's not a fillet steak! It's mince. It needs to be cooked through. It was completely pink and raw. Totally inedible. The stew was also terrible. Nothing like an Irish stew and full of salt. Again it was inedible. The food was that bad, we left our (mostly full) pints of beer and walked away. I definitely do NOT recommend this place. It's truly awful.

Loved this place! Good vibes even when I went at 1 am. The bartender spoke amazing English and was super nice and sweet to me. Their food is AMAZING. Loved their veggie sandwich (without mozzarella for the vegans) and their fries are amazing! Got a drink too and spend 13 euros.

To be honest I didn't want to go there as my frirnds have asked me to buy some pizza and bring them to hotel. It was quite late and somebody diverted me there. I have ordered some paninies. Waiting for there some drink. Sandwiches were unexpectedly tasty and my friends very happy.

Would have given them 0 stars if possible. Ordered an Aloha poke bowl and it’s the worst thing I’ve ever eaten. The rice was in cubes like it’s just been taken up from the refrigerator, the tuna was mushy and not in nice dices as shown in the picture. The edame beans were frozen dry. Don’t eat poke here! One bowl costed 16€.

Everything about the bar was amazing. The staff goes above and beyond their way🙏 I have never seen anything like it, they were the kindest and the most thoughtful. If you are looking for a night-out in Bergamo, you should definitely give this bar a try.

It's okay, called "beach bar" but is just an Italian version of the Hard Rock bar. After owner's reaction; First of, I love my Hard rock/metal, and I didn't intend to talk you down, that's something you did yourself. I think that The Hard Rock Café is actually a good franchise, and the comparison was intended as a compliment. The only thing I didn't like, or understood, was the beach bar aspect as I have, like you insinuated, never visited the states. I gave your bar three stars because your waiting staff was new, did his best, but didn't know a lot and didn't get any real help by the owner/colleague. As I've worked in hospitality myself for ten years, I think the most important thing is to properly teach and assist new staff. After your interesting reaction, I've even been thinking on downgrading it, but this wasn't part of my initial experience, so I won't. But, Rock on!

We only found this bar after checking Google for recommended places to eat in Bergamo, but we're so glad we did. It is a little out of the centre of Citta Alta but is well worth a visit. It has a nice, relaxing atmosphere and a wide selection of beers - if you're into that thing 😁. The staff are really nice but, without doubt the star of the show is the food. I would safely say it is the best we've had anywhere in Bergamo and would highly recommend the burgers and pizzas.

It was quite late dinner and only one open restaurant in that part of the city. Love local dishes and taste.

This feels like our little secret hidden gem in Bergamo but I have to share. We have returned multiple times in the last few years for the cansoncelli and the local wine. The service is always lovely and the atmosphere is great. In the winter we have sat by the fire and they have live music on sometimes. The original cansoncelli and the cansoncelli fly are both amazing!!!

Good space, I just popped in because I wanted to try one of their beers. Didnt see an option to do a tasting tray of several beers so I chose one that sounded good: the Georgia. Unfortunately it was quite bitter and I had expected a maltier more sweet taste from the description. I then tried the Melita which is made with honey, I liked that one much better.

Terrible Café !! Me and my friends were sitting and were then told everyone had to order something or else they couldn’t sit with us. The iced coffee we ordered was really small and disgusting. It was just coffee with a whole lot of ice and the price was for it was insane. The waitress was really rude and the plant we got for our table wasn’t even real. A cured meats lover's paradise. It offers a wide range of cured meats served on wooden planks and has an excellent unfiltered wheat beer on tap. The piadine (italian version of a quesadilla) are average. A great place to snack or have a quick bite but not to have a satisfying meal.

My first time in Bergamo, but it won't be the last. We stumbled upon this restaurant on our first night in the city and were met with such hospitaly and kindness. The young man servicing was so nice and polite. The food was amazing, especially the tartar and the casoncelli. We had an amazing dinner. And we came back tonight and the service was just as nice, the young man remembered us and he was amazing today too. And the food, the food. It was so good. Everything was perfect, from the eggplant tart to the tagliatelle alla duck ragu to the tiramisu. The best tiramisu I ever had. I will absolutely visit this place the next time I'll be in northern Italy. My favourite restaurant for sure.

We arrived 30 min before closing time and they welcomed us with no problem!! The waitress was very gentle and explained us the menu and she made some recommendations such as the tartare di manzo, I have to say it was the best tartare that I’ve ever ate. She recommended as well the wine originally from Bergamo and it was excellent choise!! And the main dishes were as well brilliant!! We tried as well torta de miele as a dessert and the tiramisu!! Service was excellent they invited us 2 limoncello shots!!! It is nice to find a place like that, with calm atmosphere, where you can have a very quality food with a reasonable price!!we were very relax and enjoyed so much!!!if we come back again to Bergamo, we will come back for sure!!! It is worth it to have the meal there and then go to the citta alta where it is more crowded!!

Great place to enjoy food and wine. A bit hidden behind the shopping street you will find this lovely enoteca. The food they serve is straightforward. Good quality, what you see is what you get. Prices are quite expensive but it’s value for money. We lived the white wine they served!

We liked the restaurant very much and were satisfied, so we returned another day. 😒 Unfortunately, the overall impression was spoiled by the fact that we were additionally charged for coffee and water on the second day, while the price on the first day was included in the price of lunch as it is written in the menu.👎👎👎 However, the food was very tasty and the atmosphere pleasant. During a recent visit to Italy we stayed for three nights in Bergamo and had an amazing time. On our second night we found an amazing restaurant, IL Cortiletto. Via S. Alessandro, 4. You can eat outside or inside, we choose inside because it was slightly chilly in April. The food was excellent especially the Casoncelli and Irish Fillet of beef. Real quality food, well cooked with amazing flavours. I can’t say enough about the staff, helpful and very friendly, Roberto, Jessica, Matilde and Leonardo. they will go the extra mile to make sure their customers are happy. Loved it so much we ate there again the following night. If you are visiting Bergamo make sure you visit this amazing restaurant.

This is the strangest place with the weirdest vibe. 😳 I came in to check the quality of their pints (spoiler: mediocre) and service (spoiler: horrible). Odd that nobody can speak English properly in an "Irish Pub". Not only that, but it seemed that the barman was way more interested in his conversation/flirting with the waitresses than greeting or serving me as I waited (spoiler: he never did), seated at the bar in front of him. It took a long time for him to acknowledge me, then ask someone else to pour a pint for me (which was actually done correctly) Then someone [a manager maybe] came with a stack of paperwork that needed to be done exactly in front of me on the bar. Ok, but don't you have an office or something? So, let's be real. This is not an Irish pub. This is a dirty, poorly-run 3rd-rate Italian bar with utterly uninterested staff and zero idea of how to make a good impression on customers. Don't bother trying this place unless you thrive on disappointment. It is made of fail.

Very nice place, the beer is good even though there isn't a large selection on tap. I ate a pizza which wasn't bad at all. The service wasn't up to much, even though there were a lot of staff walking around. I didn't see many clients but it's a big place so..... There's lot's of free parking and it's easy to reach.

We went for a couple of drinks and e joyed our visit. The male waiter assigned to us was very friendly, the selection of draught beer was good, the music was great (ACDC etc) and there was plenty of space for parking. We didn't have any food butamy people were eating pizza etc. Definitely a positive experience and would recommend it!

This was one of the best bars that I've ever been to. Much better than anything in London. The drinks are great and are very inspired by a cool theme. Rolling dice to decide what drinks you get is a must (destiny dice). We challenged the bartender to make us the most sour drink they could and not only did they do that, but they also took the time to make it taste great (we were watching them trying to come up with a concoction behind the bar, trying different ingredients) The food tastes good and is also inspired by the themes of the drinks. The atmosphere was great with a good choice of music and we were made to feel so welcome, even whilst being non itallian speakers. I'd recommend this bar to everyone and anyone and wish they had a place set up in the UK that I could become a regular.

Great bar on the edge of the High Town. The staff are very friendly and the food is great quality, if limited in range, The draught beers are numerous, but I settled on the ever reliable Paulane, the boss for the excellent Talisker. It is, by repute, an 'Atalanta' bar, but don't let that put you off. Great pub and truly sorrowful to be leaving.

Once in, I found a warm atmosphere and kind staff. I was suggested a good local gin. Many other drinks available of course. Really suggest to drop by.

Great place for drinks in Bergamo, free snacks at the bar were cool, bartenders cool and attentive.
