The place looks very nice and the cocktails are great. However, I cannot recommend this restaurant to get something to eat. The size of the dishes is much too small compared to the price and the taste is below average. The waiters were polite, but not able to give information on the menu.

We were looking for a table for dinner around 7.15-30, and spotted one here. A miracle as we could sit immediately. You might have to wait, but get a cocktail or local beer from the bar and be patient, it is worth it. The dishes are not large, but really delicious, we had the local cheese and sausage platter, chorizo, sausage, black pudding (blood sausage), two Sao Miguel and one Faial cheeses, honey, pineapple jam and plenty of good bread. A Greek salad and a local pepper hummus. All very well balanced. Finished off with caramelised pineapple and ice-cream. So good. There's a huge turnover of covers managed by a courteous front of house team, who kept track of the innumerable orders and did not seem to keep anyone waiting too long. Most dietary requirements it seems can be catered for, though vegans might have a tough time. There are a lot of people walking around and through the outside dining area, and also waiting for a table. Don't rush but also don't hang around too long either. Enjoy the flavours.

We came here twice during our stay in Ponta Delgada - once for cocktails, and once for tapas. We sat inside for drinks and they have a cozy area by the bar with couches and armchairs. The cocktails were delish! We had the peach Paloma and the blueberry bourbon mule. When we went back for tapas we sat outside, which was great as well. We shared the cheese board. Maybe not super great value for the money there but it was yummy. Service was terrific both days! I’d definitely recommend coming for drinks and small plates!

We came twice during our stay in Ponta Delgada. Service was welcoming and efficient. Drinks great and food came in fast and was super tasty. It is bar a tapas, so don't expect large meals. But what we got was enough for decent dinner.

We wandered into this place when we weren't sure what to get for dinner and it exceeded expectations. Service was quick, bar was delicious, the vibes both inside and outside were great. Three tapas was plenty of food for the both of us. Not the cheapest place on the island but everything was good so we were definitely fine with the price. Would recommend for drinks and a lighter meal!

The bar Tá Gente has a very inviting atmosphere, perfect for a chat and a drink with friends. I tried a warm Drambuie, served in a beautifully crafted setup with herbal tea and a twist of orange—an original and cosy choice for a cold evening. The ambiance is relaxed and charming, making it a great spot to unwind. While the overall experience was pleasant, there’s some room for improvement in service warmth. I definitely recommend visiting, enjoying the creative drinks, and soaking in the warm vibe of Tá Gente!

Beautiful location right by the ocean, near the commercial docks. There’s both a restaurant and a bar, but the best view is definitely from the restaurant terrace or from inside the restaurant itself. The bar/terrace is set further back near the dock area, and the view from there overlooks a few commercial boats. We visited around 5 PM and were lucky to find a table on the restaurant terrace. A reservation is definitely recommended if you plan to dine at the restaurant, but overall, it’s a lovely spot for a meal with a view. The bar offers some unique and interesting cocktails—different from what we found elsewhere on the island—and the bartender really puts effort into preparing them well. It’s a quiet location with shaded areas, and if you’re sitting on the restaurant terrace, you get a nice view of the harbor. We even caught a rainbow while we were there, which made the experience even more special.

Loved our dinner at Cais da Sardinha. We were there during a big local festival so it was super busy, but the staff were still great. The limpets were amazing, and we really enjoyed the mushroom risotto and Caprese salad. Great wine too. Awesome spot right by the water, definitely worth a visit!

The most important thing to consider first: it's extremely loud, like really exhausting at the end of an active day which is why I wouldn't go there again and I'm normally not that sensitive to noise. I had the octopus - it was OK, the octopus itself tasted good, but the whole dish lacked taste and was boring. My friends had the sardines, they were much better, though.

Very delicious, the best fish and seafood we’ve had in Ponta delgada yet. Fair prices, authentic and great quality. Definite recommendation and can’t wait to come back for our next meal!

Beautiful location, right on the ocean with floor to ceiling windows everywhere. Warm lighting. Very fresh and delicious food. Attentive waiters, dealing with a lot of demand - as food is great. Great night ! 🌟✨⭐

Extremely mid, welcome to a restaurant with boring food and lackluster service. Was served an overpriced steak that was ordered medium rare but was instead slammed to gray. Reordered and got instead a steak that could walk off the plate. If you’re going to order, opt for the fish. Never mind, don’t come here. Go somewhere else.

Cais de Sardihna is in a good setting overlooking the harbour but the food was disappointing. One of our dishes , Bacalhau Lascado, was cold - which is quite impressive as it takes a really long time for potatoes to go cold! In fairness it was quickly replaced - but without apology. My risotto was ok. The acoustics are terrible and so it is very noisy if there are groups dining, which was the case when we visited. The staff were friendly, but service was slow as they were busy, but as a customer, this shouldn't become my problem....

Great happy hour with wine and mixed (mean and cheese) boards. The champagne and oysters are a must try!

Hello I went to listen an Italian & Portuguese jazz duo 🫠plus Thomas on harmonica and bunch of other musicians, they were amazing. Also lady behind the bar had tasty skills for me, who doesn't know what she wants, prepare a cocktail that I loved 😍it was a the first Portuguese place I have ever seen working with three people and fast enough for the amount 🙃note : it was not with a ticket night but was still full

Small local jazz club we've enjoyed 5 or 8 times. Local talent of extremely high caliber. Reservations are needed. Check website for talent and schedule. €10 cover per person weekdays, €15 per weekends that is used for drinks, snacks or light kitchen fare. Top shelf club just celebrating their 7th year as I write this.

Decent (and only) jazz spot in Ponta Delgada. Before going be aware that they are not open weekdays normally and/or every weekends. You will need to check at the door to make sure - there is no source on the internet for the correct opening times. Some rigid rules here - no caps for starts, and it operates on a performance time schedule - sit down tables. Strange table sharing concept which my lady was not fond of. I found the lady manager on duty a bit impersonal and arrogant. Drinks here are mighty expensive - recommend not ordering too much. Overall the acts are fine. Drummer was amazing but the bassist looked like he was disinterested and wanted to go home. I’m a big jazz fan and i felt this place missed the mark to what jazz is - i felt so rigid and not able to just enjoy the music from the constant pestering of abidance to the rules and how the lady manager kept coming to us and asking to for us to share tables with strangers. They seriously need to chill out and let customers enjoy the music.

A lovely, intimate space to spend an evening listening to world class musicians! There is no bad seat in the house, great sound, very affordable. Don’t miss it!

We booked a private event at this venue ahead of our wedding on Sao Miguel. Our night here was amazing beyond words. We asked for karaoke plus a DJ, but our group preferred to do karaoke for the whole time between 8-12pm. Everyone had an amazing time, partly because of the attentive bar staff who provided everything our guests needed all night long. The karaoke options spanned the 60s to the 2000s so some people missed some more modern options, but the group had fun all the same, bringing out old school classics and deep cuts. The drinks were delicious, and the staff were the absolute best, making sure we had what we needed, when we needed it. The venue itself is the perfect space for 50-60 people to enjoy a private event. 100% would recommend for karaoke, private concert, or probably any public event just based on our interactions with management and staff. If you don't visit here when you visit Ponta Delgada, you're missing out on an absolute gem. We had one of the best nights of our lives here. Thank you again to management and staff!!

The staff are incredibly friendly and the food and drinks are pretty good! I'd recommend it if you're looking for a bar with a good atmosphere.

I highly recommend this place! We just had the Seafood Casserole and the Tuna Tataki and we are in love!! Drinks are also very very good. The staff was very friendly, making jokes, even asked the chef what type of tuna we were having and fish in the casserole. Do not miss this while in Ponta Delgada! We were able to catch some spots at the bar immediately as we were a bit early for dinner but there was a line later.

INCREDIBLE MEAL(s) We only had two nights in the azores and we went to this place twice. Not a single bad dish. I can already tell that I will be dreaming about that braised beef risotto for years.

We had such a nice evening here. The staff is super friendly, Francisco welcomed us and took care of us the whole time. We had the seafood arancinis, chicken saltinbocca and red wine braised beef risotto and tarte tatin for desert. All dishes were great and super flavorful, you’ll really wish for an extra stomach! Cocktails were super nice as well. Big thanks to the team!

We went for brunch after arriving that morning to sao Miguel. This French cafe was recommended by our hotel - it was truly delightful. Adorable decor- charming patio. The food was delicious! The portions were generous as well. The chocolate cake was outstanding

Absolutely delicious!! We came here twice during our 4-day stay in Sao Miguel and ordered the same thing: shrimp pasta & seafood casserole. The flavours are explosive, especially if you love lemon and coriander. Cocktails deserve a shout out too, best on the island.

Probably the best food we had on the island that's a bit more contemporary. Fish-rice stew was amazing. We did have to make a reservation in advance, almost half a week or so. Absoultelt recommend this place!

Very nice place and the waiters were extremely professional and friendly. The food was good but not worth the price they are charging and also the lights were a bit bright. We had excellent wine here that was priced decently. We told the waiter that we were sharing our mains and they divided them in the kitchen and gave us separate half plates, which we really appreciated! However, even with two mains we left hungry and had to get a snack out.

I rarely leave reviews but this place needs to be put out there! Our family had an absolutely amazing experience. Chef Ricardo claimed to have the “best octopus in the world” (as a joke of course), but honestly, he was right. The crispy octopus is truly one of the best I’ve had — grilled to perfection. The place got revamped, and is under new ownership with normal restaurant hours, so call ahead to get seated. Ricardo was truly warm and so was our waiter andres. Both made us feel like family within the couple hours we spent there. They gave us great activity recs too, as delightful as their chocolate mousse with a zingy creative fun pepper twist you gotta try it! My daughter’s favorite was the beef tartar; it was very fresh and balanced so well. We are actually on our way back tonight and are trying to explore more of their menu, but we might just stick to what we got yesterday because it will be hard to beat!

The food was exceptional—the scallops and medallion steak were outstanding. The chef was fantastic, and the wine selection was top-notch.

Outstanding. We found this place randomly while walking. The exterior looked a bit sketchy but we figured we’d peek inside. We are extremely glad we did! This is a beautiful converted old barn that integrates local art and a truly fantastic restaurant. The servers were professional and friendly. In fact, they really added to our overall experience! The food was amazing and the atmosphere was relaxed with a sophisticated feel. The prices were very reasonable. Overall, pretty much perfect!

Wow wow wow. Best octopus I have ever had. My friend had the porc fish and it was delicious and the filet mignon as well. Chef Ricardo has created a masterpiece and you can taste the love he puts in the food. The best dish I had so far (octopus) in Sao Miguel. Definitely recommend and reserve.

Highly recommend this hidden gem. Not so obvious to find but amazing food and huge selection of wine. Big portioned, high quality tapas which were delicious. Huge wine selection. The owner knows a lot about all the different Portuguese wine and is pleasant to talk to.

Great find. Excellent tapas and wine bar featuring a variety of local cheeses, cold cuts, sausages, etc. and Portuguese wines and ports. They focus on many wines are hard to find or older vintages than what are currently available in stores. For food tried the mixed cheese, cold cut and sausage plate, some tinned tuna belly and octopus (wow! delicious) and bread. Had one white, one rosé, one red and a port by the glass based on the waiter/owners recommendations and all were excellent. Strongly recommend if you like tapas and trying premium wines. The owner was very knowledgeable and passionate.

We had the pleasure of dining here and as vegetarians, have had a tough time finding a restaurant in Sao Miguel with a variety of foods for us to enjoy. We had a salad, cheese plate, buns, potatoes, and dessert here! If you have any questions about wine, the owner had some lovely recommendations for us. We explained what flavors we liked and he recommended some wines for us to try! You can truly see his passion for his food, wine, and country shine through. Some neighboring local restaurants had a lot more reviews, but I would skip all of them (we tried a few and were extremely underwhelmed) and come here instead!

Very good wine bar with selections of meat and cheeses, mostly produced locally or within Portugal. Amazing wine selection. The blood sausage was fantastic. The waiter was very knowledgeable and offered wine pairings based on how much you want to pay per glass. Tried several different Portuguese red wines, each better than the last. Great place to eat if you are in the mood for some great wine and delicious food.

A nice spot to sit and enjoy the view but it was a crowded. The food was good. Especially the garlic bread was so crispy and yummy. The shrimp was unexpectedly spicy for me, but overall it was a good experience.

For real THE BEST LEMONADE I’ve ever drank 😍 daaamnnn and they even hace flavoured lemonadesss (which transform them in no-lemonade but whateva). The wait is worth (waiters are not that fast even when there are many 🫠) Food is ok, nothing from another world, eatable and open on sundays which many sites close!! If you go whale watching, Moby Dick is just at the front 👏🏻

Beautiful terrace and bar by the marina. After a long walk, we enjoyed a beer, a delicious steak, and a cocktail there. Great service and pleasant staff with friendly personnel. Highly recommended if you want to relax and enjoy life.

Amazing pub!! I enjoyed this time over there having my drinks. Very friendly staff, lovely atmosphere, lots of pictures of ships and Azores, and the most famous whales bone on the main whole of the pub. My recommendation!

We spent a few nights in here soaking up the beer/wine and atmosphere. Met some great people from all over the planet and had a great time. Closest thing to a pub we found while we were there.

We (Shamrock Rovers) met there prior to our football match, staff were overwhelmed by the amount of fans & drink consumed. On the 2nd of 3 days they ran out of draught Super Bock on draught, large bottles and small bottles and Somersby Cider !!! Great staff, great atmosphere, great prices and fun.

The best funky bar in PD to my opinion. Not in a fancy location perhaps, but with many vibes inside. Some tables also scarcely available outside. Good cocktails and some local beers on the tap, including a sweet Stout. They should induce more bitters and IPA’s, left alone the Belgian superior artefacts.

I haven't had their food. But their drinks are great and the prices are right! Not a lot of good margaritas around, but they make a passable margarita even. Personally though I drink where the locals drinks. This is not really a tourist bar. But they'll serve tourists as well. It's a sailor themed establishment.

Historical architectural gates in public square. It's beautiful and works as a central mark for the city. You can easily get from there to the military museum, churches, chapels, botanical garden and marina. It is next to the town hall. Usually they start walking city tours from these gates.

Just a very pretty, well preserved entrance to the town centre. The paving is beautiful as are the surrounding buildings.

A picturesque spot and a popular photo opportunity, especially during peak hours when the area can get quite busy. While the gate is iconic for the city, to be honest, its historical or symbolic significance isn’t entirely clear unless you’ve read about it beforehand. Still, it's a nice landmark to pass by when exploring the city center.

18th century city gates made of dark volcanic basalt. It looks great and is undoubtedly a symbol of the capital. Day and night, always beautiful and atmospheric.

The end of April there's a chance of rain but when we went it was just overcast skies light jacket weather... The city is very clean we'll taken care of easily able to walk around the town to different tours attractions.. very affordable food and souvenirs.. the locals are very nice and friendly...

Very big portions of food! Everything that we tried here was absolutely delicious! Atmosphere was amazing as it's in the heart on the city opposite to the church. Prices are not so bad as to compare with another restaurants in this town. Definitely recommend to visit!

I am so happy that this cafe reopened. It truly is at the heart of Ponta Delgada with its ideal location opposite the central church (Matriz), with views of the famous arches and glimpses of sparkling water in the marina. It has kept its reputation for generous portions and fair prices. The highlight on the menu for all of us was the cheese and bacon burger in the local bread (bolo levado). The ‘contemporary’ salad was exceptional, even more so considering that it is difficult to find good salads on the island. The ‘Ovos Rotas’ is listed as an appetizer, but it could certainly be a main course and is like a skillet breakfast with layers of fried egg, bacon, French fries and sweet potato fries. Our server Luana was great. Please note that there is a system to being seated outside - come into the terrace by the cafe entrance and wait under the sign. The servers will see you and find a table for you.

We had two experiences which were very contradictory. Once the food was good, the waitresses were nice, fast and efficient. The second time was not as good. The food was still good but the waitresses were extremely rude, slow and inefficient. We arrived and the outside area was full, I took a look inside the Cafe and it was empty so I asked if we can sit inside which they denied „The inside area is closed.“ I am sorry but that makes no sense at all if you have a completely full outside area you should open the inside seating arrangements whether you feel like it or not, it is unfriendly and poor customer management not to. Also no one comes towards you to explain were to wait or how to approach getting a table (no there are no signs either). So we approached a waitress to ask if they have space for four people. She didn’t even greet us and just said „Get in line“ I didn’t understand what she said the first time so I asked for her to repeat it again please, she basically screamed at me „GET IN LINE!“. That is absolutely unacceptable and there is no excuse for this behavior. We all have bad days but we were very nice and she had no reason to scream at me, mind you this is the first impression they deliver? Disappointing. As I said the food is fine, the Prego‘s taste good but are a little dry, the iced coffee is great and the „fresh cheese“ is not a cheese platter like usually served, it’s a special soft cheese from São Miguel. It would be nice to mention that as I was expecting something else. I would also like to add, the male waiters were honestly always friendly. They need to work on their customer service approach and need to focus on serving quality no quantity.

The location is prime, no doubt, but unfortunately, the food and service don’t live up to the atmosphere, which was disappointing. It almost feels like the stunning view is being relied on to make up for the lackluster service and average food quality. We ordered the burgers… while they were decent, they didn’t feel worth the price, and it took over 40 minutes for just two to arrive. I’d recommend this spot for the view on the square, but not for the service or food quality.

The service might take awhile because they have so many customers. But its all good and it was the best fish soup we ate in Azores.

We were visiting the Azores for 8 days and visited the cafe twice. Both times the food was excellent, and service was good. Prices were reasonable, drinks were cold, and the patio is a great place to get some fresh air & people watch. Would certainly recommend it.

The site is a series of greenhouses for growing pineapples with explanatory plaques inside. Next to them is an "exhibition" that explains the stages of pineapple growth, and finally there is a cafe/restaurant and a shop selling various pineapple products. The place is not particularly impressive and not particularly well-kept. It is pleasant and does not require more than a 20-minute visit if you get there not hungry.

Such a neat plantation, being able to see the unique way they cultivate and learn the history of their pineapple production was very cool. The pineapple are without a doubt the most delicious we’ve ever had, I wish I would take 100 of them home with us! A free self guided tour and very reasonable priced gifts and snacks in the cafe.

Pineapple plantation in Ponta Delgada (we walked from the city center). It was a nice visit (and free!) although it is true the place is a bit decadent. The cafe was more renovated and added value to the visit. Would definitely recommend if you are staying in Ponta Delgada.

Walkable from Pta Delgada city center. If you don’t have cell service maybe stop at the bar to get the WiFi password so you can scan the QR codes for the self-guided tour through the greenhouses, though the video at the end explained the process well enough. How cool to add smoke to make the plants flower. The pineapple Caiparinha is delicious.

Very nice place. I can imagine that in Central Europe you would pay for entry, but here it’s free – and if you want to support them, you can go to the bar and enjoy something with fresh pineapple. We had flambé pineapple with ice cream – it was a real delicacy – and also very tasty pineapple juice. I recommend visiting!

Brilliant idea to produce pineapples in greenhouses. Had access to a couple of them. A very nice place with a cozy cafe and an area, where they sell products in glass and bottles, at very reasonable prices.

A free plantation tour will show you how pineapples grow and how long it takes. At the café, you can try pineapple beer, desserts, or ice cream, buy liqueur or pineapples from the plantation, and simply relax.

Totally disgusting, we order 6 cocktails and not even one was good. Looked like they had no idea what they were doing. The staff was not friendly, obviously under the effects of something, I do not recommend it at all, i cannot understand how they have this mark.

The staff here is super friendly. Miguel even helped us out getting take out from the restaurant across the street. They have a some great craft beers which isn't always easy to find on the island.

Get the red sangria! But be warned, it will change your standards of sangria for the rest of your life. Everything else was good too, but the sangria was the best I’ve ever had and I’ve had a LOT of sangria all over the US and Europe..

We went there tonight just before opening, and were greatly dissapointed to be told that the kitchen was closed ‘for the duration’. No explanation offered, apart some vague reference to a ‘management decision’. NOT satisfacfory, and why this wasn’t posted on the net remains a mystery. Check before going!

My wife and I enjoyed breakfast here on a Sunday. The lady that served us was so friendly and polite - truly a pleasure 🙏 The food was tasty (especially the yogurt with granola and the pancakes) and price/performance was great. I can definitely recommend coming here if you are looking for a breakfast in Ponta Delgada.

Came here for an afternoon snack. Had the banana cake, match, empada de bacalhau, and the meat muffin. Maria, the owner was precious. I’ve included the hours because Google was wrong. So tasty! Adorable spot!

Away from the city centre, but only minutes from the port, this teahouse serves a very wide selection of teas from around the world as well as locally grown tea. In terms of the food offer it is all fresh, great salads, good home made soup and wonderful cake-try the Matcha with lemon topping, they charge almost daily so you might miss out one day but be fine the next. The team were welcoming and helpful

Very cool small coffee shop to grab really good coffee and some small breakfast. Many locals are passing by to start into their day, which has a really nice atmosphere. The Bartender is busy but super friendly :) Can definitely recommend!

My friend and I passed by this café at lunchtime and noticed the sign outside advertising pork chop buns. We were curious and decided to step in—and it turned out to be a great choice. The café is quite small, selling coffee, drinks, and even lottery tickets, but it’s clearly popular with the locals. We ordered a pork chop bun, a steak bun, some fried cod, and two beers. The local beers were absolutely fantastic—exactly to my taste. The buns with pork and steak were also really good, hearty and flavorful. On top of that, the prices were very reasonable. Hopefully, we’ll have the chance to come back again in the next few days!

Real local genuine atmosphere with local stangastas, cheap beer and in the heart of Ponta Delgado. After a whole day of driving around the island, this is a well-deserved relaxation in the evening after dinner. If you're looking for luxury, you won't find it here.

A very local place to get a quick and tasty breakfast. The owner did not talk much with us, but was very friendly and patient with a couple of hungry tourists who ordered A LOT. He only gave us laughter. Plus point is that they open very early, a very important thing when you have a tour starting at 8 am.

Fantastic place to have a drink and to grab traditional Portuguese bar food. Ricardo, the owner is an awesome guy, serves delicious prego no prato and bifanas, all rounded up with Azorean beer Munich. The guests are very friendly people and chatting while having a beer has never been so easy. Definitely one of the mandatory places when in Ponta Delgada! This is a local spot to get breakfast. The owner is so nice, sweet, and accommodating. You really have to experience one of these coffee shops to get a glimpse of local culture in the Azores. The ham and cheese sandwich was simple, nice, and light and the espresso was strong :). If you’re on a budget come by for the ham and cheese sandwich, coffee, and experience.

Nice bar with good music & drinks. Smoking balcony with a view is a special plus. 😉

Wanted to enter the bar, but there were four staff members sitting outside. I politely asked if I could come in with a girl, and they told me I had to wait 10 minutes because they were smoking. I even clarified if I should just stand there and wait, and one of them just nodded his head. Completely unprofessional and disrespectful. Horrible staff attitude — I really hope the owner becomes aware of situations like this.

A very good place to spend the night dancing and enjoying live music. The cocktails are great amd prepared with good level of skills. Open balconies allow some fresh air and give you an overview of the city square. The bands are playing really awesome music with good vibes.

I did like this bar it's a good size and the music was ok, I wish they played more afro house I guess it might have been the DJ I went to on a Saturday night they close at 5am I didn't have a cover. I would go back

I was privileged to witness a wonderful moment here, I was the only one outside and a homeless man and his companion called by to see if there was any food available, the welcome given to him by the staff and the friendly greeting when he opened the door and asked if they could help him was truly amazing.. they duly obliged with smiles and friendship was truly humbling to see. With the world as it is, what a moment ❤ visit this place and experience good vibes from all the staff, I'll never forget that moment

It was a perfect night, thank you to the barmen with the beard, I don’t remember his name. He was very friendly and professional. Great drinks and great music.

They offer an extensive menu, mainly focused on fish and seafood. While the food was tasty and well-prepared, I expected a bit more fish on the plate for the price. The menu does not include portion sizes, which makes it harder to decide. Since everything is freshly prepared, be prepared to wait a little longer for your food — but it’s worth it. The staff were friendly and spoke English without any problem. The place is spacious, so you usually don’t need a reservation. The entrance from the coastal road can be a bit confusing — the main entrance and parking area are actually on the opposite side of the building.

Lobster roe and grilled squid on a skewer were the only good things about this place. Service was slow and the grilled limpets were so small compared to other seafood restaurants I've tried. Aside from the nice view, there isn't anything too special about this place. If you're looking for good seafood, there are plenty of other options in the area.

Came here in search of a late lunch spot, and Cracas. Tourist prices for decent but not outstanding seafood. Ambience: rather large restaurant that sits 100 pax, so service can be slow. laid-back ocean views Food: Cracas pieces looked smaller than what we saw online. Cold crab was fairly fresh (€30/kg). They mix the crab roe with mayo and add extra chicken egg to the center with spicy peppers and crotons to accompany. The limpets were small, and pricier than other places. €20 for 1/2 share, €30 for the full. €5 for 1.5L water.

We were disappointed. The appetizer – shrimp – was served cold and far too salty. We waited about an hour for the main course. That would have been acceptable, but 2 out of 4 dishes were inedible. The steak, ordered medium rare, was raw and not suitable to eat. The other dishes were decent, but the side dishes did not match the mains, so the overall taste of the meals was unbalanced. I do not recommend this place.

The service was good. The food was quite expensive and the fish were not tasty ( we ordered two types of fish ) As simple as that… also the vegetables served with the fish ( zucvini, mushroom, eggplant) were not tasty… sorry 😞the only good dish we ordered was the fried sardines . Also the yam and the potatoes were good. Maybe it’s our taste in food… I don’t know but we were really disappointed ☹️ and felt that we paid too much for food we did not enjoy.

Overall an okay experience but giving 4 stars more on the service and ambiance. It was extremely busy and quite loud with servers moving all over the place. Our table was awkwardly placed in the middle where everyone was walking. It took a while to get the food. There is an area with outside seating that has a great view, but it might be hard to get a seat there without a reservation. We got Arroz de Marisco (good for 2 people). The flavor was pretty good and there was a huge amount of seafood in it. However, it was overbearing with clams and very little rice. I found myself wanting more rice because every bite had like 5 clams in it. Charged 5€ just for a large bottle of water. Other restaurants charged around 1.5€.

Came here due to the late hour, we visited furnas and found most kitchens close at 10pm, they are open until 4am. Similar vibe to a US Diner, extensive menu we mostly indescript details, meals come with salad and patatas bravas. We were happy with meals that arrived. Skewers chicken was great chicken was wrapped in ham and rice had pineapple in it. Great char grill flavor. Very busy location and bright lighting is a bit off putting. Loved the view could have more waterfront seats.

Traditional seafood restaurant. The food was very good and plenty. Best to go when you’re really hungry. Fresh fish that you can see and pick for yourself. Awesome shrimp with garlic and olive oil.

Soups needs work, squid salad was good, seafood rice was amazing!

Great Restaurant with best Quality food. We went there around 5 and we get served well and the service was awesome. The Octopus specially i had was the best i ever ate. Have good view from the terrace with sea view. We went with a baby with us and we asked for some just rice and 1 boil egg for her and it reach to our table with in a minute. Appreciate it👍🏼

We dined here twice while on São Miguel. We dined here the first night on the island and was able to sit on the deck without a reservation. We also dined here our last night as well. Pictured are our dishes from the last dining experience. The service staff was awesome both nights and the food was absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend this place to anyone. It’s a little out of downtown, but worth it! I would recommend making a reservation though.

Excellent place to have exquisite dinner. Food is of high quality with nice presentation. The staff in training (white shirts) are greatly taking steps to become graduated.

We went to the Anfiteatro Restaurant for dinner without pre-booking. But it was no problem to get a table for two. We had cocktails upfront, which were great! The food we ordered was good; the french fries could have been more crisp. The service is not good; very much in a learning mode; language skills needs to be improved as well.

What is it to say other than absolutely lovely time and delicious food. Establishment that is an application course field for ppl that chose Catering and hospitality industry. I say well done to all of you. We enjoyed our evening, our meals (extremely well prepared), our time (extremely well looked after).

We searched for a decent restaurant and got the best experience in this one. First of all, the location is near the port and we could see the sunset during our stay. The waiters opened the door for us, seated us immediately and were very respectful and attentive. The service was of high quality and the food looked as sophisticated as it tasted. The prices also were very good for this quality.

Fun little restaurant on the wharf that provided us with the best meal we've had so far on the island! The waiter told us the chefs are part of the culinary school in town, and use this as their kitchen. We got the fish soup and ceviche for appetizers. Short ribs and pasta for main course. Finished with azorean orange cake and apple pie for dessert. The service was great, food out promptly, and tasted amazing.

Great outdoor cafe. We stopped here to have a bifana sandwich (pork sandwich). I also had a cheese sandwich, which hit the spot. 😋 The service was great, and the food was delicious.

Great casual spot to eat. Staff were so attentive and it showed they really appreciated your business. We had some drinks and the cheeseboard. They explained the different types of cheeses and it was delicious. Next table had the fish and chips and it looked delicious. Definitely coming back for that dish this week

Great local feel. Food is amazing. Prices are super good but they took advantage of us. We wanted a cappuccino instead of espresso for the breakfast special and instead they charged us for cappuccino and we did not get the espresso. So be sure you are very clear. They also have hamburgers. One of their specialties is homemade chips with cheese.

This is a little gem of a place to stop for a budget friendly breakfast or lunch, or just a beverage! The fish and chips were really good but the best part is the women who work here. They are super friendly and as a solo traveller, I felt right at home :)

Recommend the fish and chips and white sangria! Fish was fresh and tartar sauce lovely. Fries were homemade with love. This place is perfect comfort food before or after a flight, or anytime you are looking for a cozy local feel.

We went there for the morning coffee. It's self service so you need to order and pay at the counter. The staff is professional and fast. The coffee tastes great and the outdoor seating area is nice, right across from the church.

It's very nice place to have some fish or seafood with potatoes and vegetables or salad. Prices are very nice for this town, and the food is tasty. My big recommendation for everyone!

Great place to have lunch. Staff are very kind and helpful with food choices. Lunch has a huge rush of locals, so that’s what interested me. Have eaten there several times. Food and beer always good and very cheap. Lunch for 2 with beers and desserts costs about €20. Highly recommended.

Surprisingly good food and exceptional service. We arrived late after most other restaurants had closed for lunch. Our server explained that she was alone and did not have any other servers to assist. She was super sweet, even though she looked run off her feet. I had the Salada Beatriz with a soft plain cheese - something like ricotta with some herbs on it, with sliced apple, onions, lettuce, carrots and corn. It was light and fresh. A little on the plain side as there as no dressing, but the cheese pulled all the other tastes together. We also had pasteis de bacalao/ Pasties of cod, and this was served with boiled botatoes, and carrots with cabbage. It sounds really plain but it was a great combo. We also ordered the bife do campo - a veal steak, in a light gravy, topped with roast garlic and a red chilli, served with rice. Our child had a chicken burger with cheese and bacon. If you are looking for a simple restaurant with flavours that make sense, this one was great.

Really nice and funny staff, always ready to help and... entertain :) Good food with vegetarian options and tasty desserts. Also, popular place in the evening as a stop before entering the club which is next door. Recommended if you want to skip "tourist" places and experience more local atmosphere.

Over an hour to get a burger and a pizza, which came cold. We noticed that everyone around us was also waiting too long and complaining. Food The pizza (prosciutto) had very little ham and cheese was hard and cold. Around 8 euro. The burger with bacon, cheese and egg w/fries tasted really good (only thing we liked) Also around 8 euro. We also had a coke and a beer, total less than 20 euro. Service Everything took way to long, even the drinks. The servers would dissappear for long period of time. Atmosphere/Location It's a very simple snack bar, don't expect much. But it's in a great location and has a beautiful view of the church!

No service available. 2 crumpies run around, but ... !? I would love to get a simple Spritz. Avoid this place. It's too sad.

Joined for live music night. The performer was great even though I couldn't physically see her most of the night due to a column. The waiters were nice but not as attentive as I would expect for the small number of guests. My steak was undercooked but it had a good flavor. The french fries were not as hot as one would expect. The main star was the pineapple creme brulee. Great flavor! All in all I'd go back if I visited the island again.

This is the first time I have sat at a bar where the stools are too short, which made sitting at the bar uncomfortable. There is really no excuse for this. That said, the bartenders were skilled and friendly, and the chicken samosas were excellent.

Great service at the hotel, but especially by the bar team led by Tiago, special shout-outs for Joao, Jorge, Bernardo, Gonsales, and Ines (sorry if the spellings are wrong). Nothing was too much trouble. Service was always prompt and helpful, and they gave great suggestions. Cocktails were great and freshly made with expert mixologists. Lovely atmosphere when the live music was on too. Thanks all for a lovely time on my every visit and cannot wait to return.

We chose to keep coming back to the Vapore bar night after night during our 4 day stay in Ponta Delgada. From NY, USA; we found the food to be excellent, drinks creative and nice mellow piano music in the background. Highly recommend for a late night treat!

We stayed in the hotel and thought we’d try the bar for a dinner. We had to return the steaks as they were too tough to chew. Replacement pasta was watery. They didn’t charge us the steak but the whole thing took 2 hours

This place is great! Highly recommend the espresso martini and pineapple creme brûlée. We dined here multiple times on our trip and it was lovely each time.

A truly amazing place. We liked the wine so much we ordered a bottle for home. We got a mix of local cheese and all of them were labeled and come with dried and fresh fruits, biscuits, jam and baked bread. The octopus was thin and flavored so good.. The atmosphere was cozy and the service was impeccable - when we entered the place all the waiters were busy and the bartender noticed that immediately and came to welcome us. I only regret we leave the island tomorrow otherwise we would defiantly come back.

Loved the atmosphere , the desserts, the service and the wines! The two guys running the restaurant are lovely and always up for a chat, which made it a great experience. We went there two days in a row for dessert and for different types of Port wine and you cannot go wrong!

After a guided tour of Ponta Delgada, we had a wine and cheese tasting at Wine & Art. The cheese selection was delicious and the wines were really great. Our server was very knowledgeable and guided us through the whole process. It was a lovely visit after walking about the city.

Dirt cheap drinks and small bites to support CUM - a local Soccer team. Price of drinks range from 1€ beers to 3€ cocktails and beer mugs. They also serve local liqueur shots for 1€. This small place can get crowded in the evenings, but at these prices people just take their drinks and hangout on the (mostly) pedestrian street. Definitely a nice place to mingle with locals.

Great place. Nice, and bartender very friendly. Bar was almost empty, and they saw me with a Metallica shirt, and they started to put Heavy videos and music, Accept live in Wacken, and Metallics videos. It was a nice gesture from them. Really recommend it.

The bar may be small, but it has a warm, cozy vibe that makes u feel instantly at ease. The bartenders take their time crafting the cocktails, and they’ll happily create something just for you. U should just pick your favorite base and tell them what you like. The drinks are top notch! Everyone behind the bar is incredibly friendly, always wearing a smile and making you feel genuinely welcome. Even the youngest staff member came over for a quick chat, which added a lovely personal touch. This is exactly what a great bar should be—great drinks, great people, and a great atmosphere. 10/10 – highly recommend!

What a great find! Creative and delicious cocktails - they personalized several creations for us. The bartenders and owner couldn’t be nicer, and it’s a great spot to chat with locals and other travellers alike. Highly recommend this little spot! The passion and love for the craft is evident.

We had a lot of cocktails in our time in the Azores and these were hands down the best ones. The team here are wonderful, so friendly and welcoming! They rose to the challenge to make a couple of niche cocktails off menu, which were exceptional. We visited twice because we loved it so much!

Owners and staff are top shelf They care, they acknowledge, they craft and/or pour you a simple beer with a smile. It's a tiny place with great energy and vibe. Don't let any poor reviews dissuade you at all. Poor reviews happen at times. The owners care enough to also respond and acknowledge graciously. The least a poor reviewer can do is go back and give them a second chance. Most of us just repeat the experience since it's thoroughly enjoyed. Judge for yourself. Also don't hesitate to express your preferred type of cocktail/drink. They are receptive and aim to please as well. Or let them surprise you. Hermano and the crew will take care of you. Spend little or spend more... That's up to you and your preference on a given evening So far I've only been there once. When in PDL, a visit here is a must! We had such a great time here. All the Staff is very chatty and friendly which underlines the relaxed atmosphere. Over a couple of days I had easily a dozen of different drinks and every single one was very delicious. Thank you Ernesto for the Signature Drink. Great cocktail bar, the signature cocktails are extremely good and they'll go off menu if you have an idea of what you want. The staff is very friendly and the free water and nuts for snacks are definitely a plus.

Great bar for hot summer evenings. Everything is cheap, the service is ok, although I didn't like the fact that they were sitting next to us and smoking. In general, they have enough places to sit, the music is nice, the location by the water has its own charm. There are restaurants nearby, if you are hungry you can go eat and then come back here.

Staff was so kind, especially the gentleman with the longer(ish) hair! My bf and I went here a few nights while staying in town and the cocktails were extremely well priced (€4-€6) and not made cheaply. Good amount of alcohol, and looked so pretty! Just watching him make them, they were so well crafted! 10/10 recommend :) Highly recommend the house drink !!! (Bar Do Pi cocktail)

Great bar overlooking the water in Ponta Delgada. The best cocktail offerings at the best price in the city, as far as I saw. The Super Bock runs freely at less than 2 euro a pop. Great place to chill and enjoy the scenery of beautiful Ponta Delgada

Excellent cocktails for a very good price! Fast and good service, nice ambiance as well. If you're a tourist visiting Ponta Delgada and wish to have a cheap and good drink, stop by. At the time of writing all cocktails (bar the gin tonics) are 4 euros, which includes e.g. and Irish coffee. Regular espresso for 0.7 euros. Definitely worth a visit.

Stay FAR away from this nightclub, especially after 4AM. I'm small and queer, for the record. Someone spiked my drink, and then I was dragged outside and assaulted by a group of men, who then tried to literally traffic me by dragging me off away from the bar and checking with me that nobody was going to come looking for me. I barely escaped alive (thank goodness my jacket was easy to slip out of). When I told the cops the next day, they literally laughed at me and told me "nothing bad happens in the Azores".

Stay FAR FAR away from this nightclub. They make you think you are getting a good deal up front by telling you ladies get so many free drinks with the cards they give you. We went in, the place smelt terrible and was completely dead. Between the four of us that went we only got 6 drinks, all of which were terrible, and then were charged €70 for not filling the amount of required drinks on the card (once we realized how terrible the place was). Will never recommend. Worst bar experience i’ve ever had. Complete scam.

The place is an absolute shame. If you lose the cardboard card they give you for the drinks (you pay when you leave) they charge you 250€!!!!! Extreme misogyny and violence from the guards and the establishment. Boys pay but women don’t, and if they order a drink they are a forced to stay there for 45 minutes at least. They are connected to the brothel next door, and it seems as if they were they same. Pretty sure most of these measurements are illegal. Do yourself a favour and stay in your hotel room instead of coming here; you’ll do it later anyway. Update: right after leaving the place, the owner followed us with his car and tried to beat us up whit an iron bar . Police seems to be part of it, PLEASE DO NOT GO.

Security "handled" (their words) the friends I was with touching and threatening them. They didn't do anything wrong (none had drank, or caused any trouble)... They threatened to call the police on my friends. They continued threatening them and allegedly had another security person call the policia after explaining, "You didn't break any laws..." (Friends walked away faster than security before policia arrived). Regarding the club itself, there was literally no one in the club for well over an hour my friends and I were there. Don't waste your time or money here. Better time at literally any sports bar, cafe, or restaurant Literally any place at all is better than this tourist trap. My friend had a dispute with a guard when we were about to leave. We left the bar with paying what we had bought. After that the bar guard kept being aggressive to the point were he took a chokehold and later punshed my friend in the face. None of us three has in our lifes been in a fight in our whole lifes before which I think explains that we are not aggressive people.

Great authentic bakery with traditionnal acorean products! Each accommodation we had for our trip in Sao Miguel made sure to leave us some bolo levedo and biscuitos from this place as a welcome gift ! We made sure to buy more everytime we’d spot them in grocery stores :-)

This patisserie is a gem! The Bolo Lêvedo and Queijadas da Vila were both delicious. The friendly, smiling service made my day. Highly recommend for a sweet treat and warm atmosphere!

This was my first meal in the Azores and I really enjoyed it. The bolo do Vale was delicious and tasted like a moister English muffin, and the ham and são Jorge cheese was a great addition , I also had the pineapple queijada . Staff were friendly and it seemed like friendly group of locals eating there .

1 star because is the minimum. One of the worst experiencies that I ever had. First of all, is located near a road where there are cars passing every second (even during the night), which results in an impossible atmosphere to sleep. Also, first light in the morning will awake you as there’s no dark courtains. If the house is full (around 16 people) you will share a single bathroom/shower for all house. Although there’s rooms with private bathroom, you’ll have to wait long queues in prime times. Same with the kitchen. To conclude, the staff attitude was so rude. We tried to reduce our stay from 5 nights to 1 because we were not able to sleep because of the cars’ noise, and even Airbnb gave us the option, they didn’t want to accept it. We had to call Airbnb to solve our problem. They prefered a couple of pounds, that having happy clients. We don’t recommend this Casa da Praia to anyone. Sometimes cheap becomes expensive.

Really great price, the rooms were clean and the whole place was in good condition and also it is just a few minutes walking to the beach.
