Bakery
Bäckerei Hanss is a third-generation family-run bakery that has been in operation since November 1, 1935. It was awarded the title of best bakery in Germany in 2013 by the magazine 'Der Feinschmecker' (The Gourmet). The bakery offers a cozy setting with birch logs and a delightful menu featuring flavors like beef, hay-milk cheese, and homemade sauces. Visitors can also enjoy their pepper-crusted beef burgers.
While we were having dinner at a local restaurant, an older gentleman from Backerei Hanss brought a basket of bread and pastries to our table. The two men sitting next to us told us that Backerei Hanss is a local bakery that has been around for a long time and you can find the best Ginger Cookies at their shop. We visited the store the very next day, what a lovely little shop! We end up bought all kind of treats to bring back home as gifts.

One of the many flavorful neighborhood bakeries throughout the city. A great way to start the day before cycle-seeing, including the lookoff tower at Goetheturm.

High quality handwork, perpared in their own bakery in the back .This is one of the last small bakers, that make everything on site. A must try are the typical tasty Haddekuchen, great to have with coffee ot tea. They also make a nice gift. They also offer great cakes. Support the local shops!

In Frankfurt, there are several well-known rooftop spots like Citybeach and Long Island Summer Lounge for those seeking a perfect Mainhattan vibe. Visitors can also enjoy chic bars at hotels such as IMA Rooftop in 25hours and relaxing shopping stops at Skylounge Galeria Kaufhof and Alex Skyline Plaza.
I ordered the classic cheeseburger, but the patty was a bit lacking in flavor. On the bright side, the fries were absolutely delicious! I also tried the raspberry juice, which was refreshingly enjoyable—not overly sweet. The atmosphere of the place is stunning, located at the very top of a skyscraper, offering breathtaking views. However, one staff member seemed a bit tense when it came to handling the payment—perhaps they’re not fans of counting coins!
Sena Y — Google review
This restaurant has stunning views that create a nice atmosphere for dining. Unfortunately, it was uncomfortably hot both inside and outside. The staff seemed busy and service wasn’t the most attentive or efficient. The food was okay, but lacked flavor and seasoning. Overall, it’s a good spot to enjoy, but not the best choice if you’re looking for top-notch food and service.
Emilia G — Google review
The sky bar is lovely, but unfortunately not the coolest one you can visit in the area! However, the à la carte restaurant is open until 12:00, which is a definite plus if you want a meal later in the evening. Beautiful view, but as mentioned, it is blocked by other buildings, which prevents me from giving a top rating. The steak was absolutely fantastic. We went for fries as a side dish, and it was definitely the right choice. The only downside was that the salad was a bit too simple, and the fries were served without any dip. All in all, very satisfied with the visit! A big downside is the additional cost for water and ketchup, which totaled 7 euros alone.
Torald K — Google review
A great spot, especially for the fantastic rooftop terrace with views over the city. It's located right in the Skyline Plaza, making it super convenient for a break from shopping or for after-work drinks. We just went for cocktails and the selection was good and the drinks were well-made. It can get very busy, so be prepared for a lively atmosphere, but the view and vibes are worth it.

I had dinner with my friends at Alex, a popular restaurant in Frankfurt that offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. The menu caught my attention as it featured a variety of dishes from around the world, including Asian, Mediterranean, and German cuisine. However, my experience at this restaurant was not entirely satisfying. I decided to try the chicken schnitzel, but unfortunately, it fell below my expectations in terms of taste and texture. The chicken was dry, and the crumbs on the schnitzel were overcooked, resulting in a less enjoyable dining experience. On the other hand, my friend ordered the Alex cheeseburger, which was slightly better than average. It seems that the burger was more palatable compared to the chicken schnitzel. Tye special winter mules that i tried was tasty. In terms of service, I must say that the restaurant needs significant attention and improvement. The customer service was poor, exemplified by an incident where the waiter raised his voice at my friend because he couldn't hear his answer regarding his dessert order. The crowded nature of the place seemed to overwhelm and stress the staff, leading to mistakes being made. To enhance the customer experience and reduce mistakes among the staff, my recommendation would be to have more staff members available. Overall, my experience at Alex was not entirely satisfactory. While the menu offered interesting options from various cuisines, the execution of the dishes, particularly the chicken schnitzel, left much to be desired. Additionally, the poor customer service and overwhelmed staff further detracted from the overall dining experience. It is my hope that the restaurant takes these criticisms constructively and works towards improving their food quality, service, and staffing to provide a better experience for their customers.

The views of the Frankfurt city are amazing!! Perfect for a day or evening out. Recommend reserving in advance as the place is always full.
Kerrygan T — Google review
I went for brunch with friends — the location is very nice, the food was tasty with a nice variety to choose from. Service was friendly and efficient. The only downside was the noise; we were seated in an area with lots of families, which made it hard to have a conversation at the table.
Francesca F — Google review
The food was not bad, but I went there with a Muslim friend who prayed in a corner, it was at 15:00 in the afternoon and the restaurant was almost empty, yet one of the waiters told us afterwards that we are not allowed to do that again there and it would be a problem for the restaurant owner to see a Muslim praying there! My friend is such a peaceful looking lady that needed to pray and didn’t take much space to perform her prayers! I found it disturbing and racist and definitely wouldn’t go again! Don’t support xenophobic businesses please!

The cafe IIMORI Patisserie has a very beautiful interior with delicate French and Japanese flavors blending together elegantly. The cakes are delicious, but the drinks are not so great. It's a good place to spend your weekend with friends and family.
I discovered this place a decade ago and have been coming back with friends, family and alone throughout the years, so I thought it was about time for a review. :-) It's one of my favorite cafes, the decoration is a little eccentric, vintage and unique, it definitely speaks to me and I love spending time here. The personell is always super friendly, I don't remember ever seeing them in a bad mood. The pastries are usually around 5~7€ per piece and definitely worth it, they are incredibly delicious! Thank you for always providing a great time!
Mazury — Google review
Food looks amazing and tastes very good. The interior is really astonishing. We had to eat outside on a small table which wasn’t really our plan but it was still fine. Lots of choices to eat. Will definitely visit again and try the other pastries and shushi.
Alyssa B — Google review
The food looked and tasted amazing. I've also had an Iced Matcha Smoothie, which was a bit too watery in my opinion but the scoop of ice cream was delicious.
Katelyn L — Google review
Such a cute experience! 💝 Lovely café, with such good japanese style cakes, it was really delicious. What I love the most is the unique decor, makes you feel like inside an anime movie (Neko no ongaeshi vibe 🤭), it's so charming! I definitely will come back.
M S — Google review
Almost everything about this cafeteria is amazing. You might find yourself lost amongst the range of options they have to offer - both for drinks and food. Location is amazing and cannot be better - right in the heart of Dom Römer. The staff speaks English and is really sweet - so that helps. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating. I'd definitely recommend this place for a date, or just visiting casually. Prices might feel a little higher than usual, but again - the general ambience of the place and the atmosphere around it compensates for the prices!
Neelesh B — Google review
Pros: The cake quality is exceptional, and there is a wide variety with creative flavors. Cons: The service could be more attentive and efficient. Verdict: This place is great for cake lovers; with improved service, it would easily earn five stars.
Yasmine L — Google review
Almost the cakes we tried were good (except for the Matcha Roll which had no matcha taste at all and was very bland, felt like eating just a sponge cake with a layer of heavy cream). Matcha smoothie was nice, so was warm Yuzu tea. The staff seemed not to be friendly, most of them showed a flat face.
Duong T — Google review
The place looks amazing however the cake is so heavy after one bite I thought wow one bite is enough. Prices generally around 6-7€ so if you're looking for a place to meet it's nice but if you're coming for taste experience then unfortunately I don't recommend according to my experience.

Bitter & Zart Chocolaterie is a creative chocolate shop with a turquoise design, offering international specialties and gift ideas. The café has a 1920s style, providing a pleasant atmosphere for studying or simply enjoying delicious treats. It's the perfect place for those with a sweet tooth, offering an array of cake and tart creations. Additionally, it's recommended for breakfast and brunch, serving delightful croissants, pancakes, and fresh fruit in a nostalgic setting that invites visitors to linger.
Stopped by this adorable chocolate shop after googling, “best chocolate in Frankfurt”, and I was not disappointed. Upon entering the shop there is an almost overwhelming assortment of chocolates and treats. Walls of chocolate bars of all different flavors and tables packed with chocolate and marzipan delights. I opted for a box of 16 assorted dark chocolate truffles and let the woman behind the counter choose them for me. Wrapped in a beautiful box, I was so pleased to be able to take these treats back home with me to enjoy once my vacation came to an end.

Incredible flavors inside, matched only by their service. Do yourself a favor and come indulge!
Alex N — Google review
A charming spot for a leisurely hangout or a cozy read, this place boasts a delectable selection of desserts to satisfy every palate. However, some cakes may fall short in the flavor department. The interior is lovely, though it's evident that it has been around for quite some time. I highly recommend popping into the neighboring chocolatier and indulging in their scrumptious chocolate truffles. Their assortment is vast and unique, and I always admire how they decorate their displays for various occasions.
Charlie N — Google review
I don’t know how to start with this place. Tue vibe is super nice and the place takes you to another place. Maybe Alice in the wonderland. The chocolate is super delicious. The lemon cake was so vibrant and good! Whenever you order a drink they bring you many sugar variants to choose from. The price is reasonable and the staff loves what they do. Totally recommend it!
Ahmed Y — Google review
Really nice bakery with a cozy ambience, with mixed modern and antique vibes. Love their pastries, especially recommend trying caramel tartlets, it has a unique taste. On the other hand, the home-made lemonade is not their best drink. Overall, a must visit on any day of the year.
G P — Google review
Nice coffee place with good selection of desserts. Unfortunately, when we visited there was no choco-torte or something similar, but overall nice cakes like cheesecake. Polite & pleasant staff.
Ioannis R — Google review
Cute coffee and tea parlor. Great for a quick bite or a dessert. Blueberry tart was delicious, so was the spinach quiche. Good prices. Service is fast and somewhat friendly. Wide drink menu. Nice ambience.
Monica R — Google review
A small cozy Cafe with good looking display of chocolate sweets and cakes that look absolutely very convincing. Nice and adequate service. Interior has red draperies , lovely furniture and decorated with interesting wallpapers figures. It’s hard to say which style it is, but somehow classic. All together that making creates a good drama, and I like it. I had mango coconut cake that looks pretty but tastes creamy, heavy... it’s not what I expected but I can accept it.

This is a really nice and relaxed place. We came here for lunch with our kids and it was easy to find options for everyone. The outdoor space made it easy for the kids to entertain themselves once they were done with their food. There's also a small playground in a neighboring courtyard. The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly and efficient, and the service was prompt. We'll definitely be coming here again.

Nestled in the heart of Frankfurt's Neue Altstadt, Schirn Café Bar Restaurant offers a delightful culinary experience that beautifully blends Mediterranean and Middle Eastern flavors. This contemporary eatery, connected to the renowned Schirn art gallery, is a favorite among locals for brunch, lunch, and dinner. The expansive menu features Israeli-inspired dishes with customizable options like shakshuka paired with avocado or merguez. For those with a sweet tooth, their fluffy pancakes are not to be missed.
The cuisine is modern, with quality tableware and stylish presentation. Everything I’ve tried was absolutely delicious! Excellent coffee, specialty level. Delicious desserts. The interior is also great — large windows, high ceilings, and it’s right inside the museum building. Lately, the service has been excellent! (There used to be some issues with it before) The menu was recently updated and added photos of the dishes — thank you, it’s really nice!
Dariya K — Google review
This Cafe has many seats but unfortunately too few staff who can take orders and checkouts. We had to wait and struggled for a long time until we finally got some notice. Food was good, I especially liked the bagel I ordered in addition. It was served warm and had slightly crunchy surface.
Chou S — Google review
This place is very well decorated with details of fresh flowers at every table on beautiful terrace and inside seating. I got the marrakech breakfast which was cold when it got to my table, probably because the service was SLOW and unprofessional (while I was there servers dropped trays of drinks/food twice). The carrot cake was the best part but I paired it with an espresso that lacking in size. You can pay by card but they like many places in Frankfurt don’t have wifi. They are connected to the museum.
Alejandro G — Google review
Came here by chance on a Friday night when other spots were full, and it turned out to be a pleasant find! The restaurant is right next to the metro station, making it very convenient. Spacious, nice outdoor seating, and a chill vibe. Service was pretty slow, but the staff was genuinely friendly, so we didn’t mind too much. Food was good, though not a lot of meat options for dinner—maybe because of the Middle Eastern influence? What we did try was solid: - Lamb chops – Nicely seasoned, but slightly dry. The polenta was smooth and flavorful. - Octopus – Cooked beautifully, tender with a nice hint of lemon that made it even better. Overall, a nice spot for a laid-back dinner, especially if you enjoy Mediterranean/Middle Eastern flavors.
Cherry W — Google review
They are really kind and sweet! Location and atmosphere are also cute. But the drink price is a little higher than how it was, in my opinion. Food was so nice and I loved their selection of cheese on the platter.

I was here about an hour before opening and the nice proprietress was kind enough to set me up with a free coffee on the house! Too bad they will be closing soon due to renovations, a shame.
Joon C — Google review
Very solid and fresh brunch options with a great outdoor space to enjoy yourself before conquering Frankfurt’s old town and River Main walk. The bagel was fairly priced and was largely portioned, though it will not leave you bloated.

I second another review: yes, the pancakes with fried chicken taste very nice! Good combination of sweet and savoury. Relaxing atmosphere and friendly service as well. A perfect stopping point after visiting the Schirn gallery.

Cafe Sugar Mama is a cozy and laid-back spot that offers a variety of light meals, sandwiches, cakes, and desserts. The cafe has a charming and stylish ambiance, reminiscent of a sweet grandmother's kitchen table. Located near the Elbe River in Frankfurt, Germany, it provides a scenic view for patrons to enjoy while savoring their freshly made sandwiches, quiches, salads, cookies, and cakes.
This place is a real gem! It’s got that modern vibe that makes you feel right at home, whether you’re chilling with friends or getting some work done. The food is super tasty, the drinks are on point, and the overall atmosphere just makes you want to stay. Plenty of cozy spots to settle in and a great mix of people. Definitely a go-to spot if you’re looking for great food, good energy, and a space to focus or unwind. Highly recommended!

We come here sometimes especially in the beginning of the week when we don’t have to work at our own venue. My favorites are the sandwiches, the tuna one 1️⃣ is super delicious. The sour dough bread is extremely tasty. I like Oatmilk on my cappuccino, no problem with sugar mama, always there are nice milk alternative choices. It can get sometimes quite busy at the counter but we always had a good experience with staff. I can’t really follow certain reviews here. Service is very friendly. A few words to the bathrooms. There’s only one for all - but it is very clean and shiny with a personal touch. This is very good other places should copy that. The only minus point for me is that cards are not accepted - it’s cash only. In 2024 this is in my opinion a necessary feature, it will raise the proceeds and it’s also easier for accounting (own experience). Card terminals are nowadays very affordable without monthly fees or rents with many low fee and non contract providers. Personally I will spend more money if I could pay with card/phone and it’s uncomfortable to search and seek an ATM. But everybody has the choice - we will come back anyways as we really like the place and these were just few critics :) 5 stars

Pros: - the Cafés charming interior - the coffee tastes great - friendly service Cons: - we waited 35mins for 2 pieces of cake and coffee - the bar and kitchen looked like a bomb exploded in there (which was rather funny than concerning) Perhaps our desire for coffee in the afternoon wasn't such a unique idea, which is why the café seemed completely overwhelmed by the number of guests and orders. If you see the barista spinning bottles and cups around hectically, I would recommend ordering to-go.
Cindamonbun — Google review
Wonderful place to grab a drink and a cake next to the Main River. My family and I were greeted with a warm welcome as we walked in, which is a pleasant surprise in Frankfurt. My wife ordered the Vegan Chocolate Cake, our kids had a warmed up brownie with ice cream on top, and I enjoyed some kind of yummy apple cake creation. Sugar Mama offers plenty of seating both inside and outside. We opted to savor our desserts outside while taking in a beautiful Frankfurt sunset. This was our first visit, but certainly won’t be our last. 😀
Phillip G — Google review
Very nice place to have a coffee and a conversation. Would recommend :) the glasses are big, so that's nice. Maybe the prices were a bit expensive, but I feel it's worth it based on the taste and feeling of the place. Plus it's in the city center so that's nice too.

Great brunch place, full of options of both savory and sweets, very hard to choose from! Not cheap, but beautiful and tasty. Place was full but we were able to find a table to sit. Everything takes time to be prepared or heated, so go with time. Really recommended for a slow pace brunch :) Though it's "Sugar Mama", would be nice to have some sugar-free sweets option as well :)

This place is so chaotic. I waited 30 minutes for my espresso when I was the only customer there. The two girls running the front literally went on a tandem bike ride as soon as I ordered my coffee. When I came it was cold, I went back in and told them I’d like it hot, took another 20 minutes to get my hot espresso. I won’t be coming back here because the service was such trash. The food was good but also cold in the middle

Very nice Cafe with the best coffee I've had here in Frankfurt, and some very nice salads too! They have a fair amount of outdoor seating and it's all old tables chairs and sofas like from someone's house which is kind of cool. Well worth a visit! The salad had zucchini made like spaghetti which was wonderful.

Glauburg Café is a cozy and laid-back spot located in the Nordend district of Frankfurt. It's a family-run cafe with a warm atmosphere, offering delicious coffee, cakes, light lunches, and aperitifs. One of its highlights is the sumptuous Sunday brunch buffet featuring organic options from 10 am to 3 pm. The breakfast menu includes an array of bread, croissants, fruit salad, muesli, sausages, and cheese.
Dropped by on a Sat an hour before closing. Was not busy. Waitress was attentive. Lots of cake selection and taste wonderful. The coffee here is also top notch. Tried ice cold brew, a bit of nutty favorite which I like. Also tried black coffee. Coffee is strong but not sour nor bitter. Good coffee.

Just visited the Glauburg Café with two of my dear friends, and it was truly an exceptional experience. What made it particularly special was that my friends were already well-known by the staff, which set such a welcoming tone. The service was beyond anything I have experienced in Germany before: it felt genuinely like being hosted by a friend. Every wish we had was taken into account in a completely effortless and friendly manner. The food and drinks were not only delicious but beautifully presented, and the entire atmosphere was relaxed and accommodating. I had heard about Glauburg Café before, but this was my first visit - and it certainly will not be the last. In fact, the highlight was sharing it with dear friends, which made it all the more memorable. I could not have wished for more from a café visit.

Amazing place for breakfast or brunch! The selection is just right — not overwhelming, but with plenty of delicious options to choose from. The quality of the food is fantastic and the prices are very reasonable. The service was excellent — truly friendly and attentive staff. We enjoyed every moment and will definitely be back!

Very cozy friendly brunch place with nice outdoor seating. Service is really great even in their busy hours. Their special dishes apart from those traditional offers are: Antipasti Sandwiche - it’s vegan but very tasty! Carrot cake, apple cake and etc. Obst Salat - if you decide go health and light. Btw they have strong coffee that I like a lot. More importantly make reservation in advance during weekends.

Lunch offers and bowls are really great. Good value for the money. It is freshly made and delicious. For the desert their cakes are a must. Nice cafe and friendly stuff.

This is so far the best place in Frankfurt! You can get Fabolous drinks and a super tasty breakfast here! The attention is unique and they take care about all the details, since you cross the door the most important part for them is make you feel comfortable. The menu is created with many options, so if you are vegan or love of good ham for sure that you will find an option that fit your necesities.

Huck's Favorite Place is a cozy bakery known for its wide variety of bread, pastries, and snacks. The staff is friendly and provides excellent service. Customers rave about the delicious sandwiches, pastries, and hot or cold drinks. The atmosphere is described as pleasant and busy with quick service. Visitors appreciate the reasonable prices for fresh and flavorful food.
I sat down in this beautiful corner café in the summer, when all the doors and windows were open to let a cool breeze through. I ordered a slice of Mohnstriezel, and got an absolutely massive portion with my Iced Matcha Latte. It was the happiest I have been in a long time.

It's a bakery with all kind of bread, pastry and snacks. The staff was amazing and very nice. It's a small cozy place with super delicious food and drinks hot and cold. I had a sandwich with salmon arugula and egg, a salad on the side and a latte machiatto with chocolate on top. Very delicious!!! If you looking for a nice breakfast or brunch place or just some nice coffee then this is definitely the spot! I will be back 😏

Wow! The sandwiches and pastries at this ship are DELICIOUS. My husband and I both ordered sandwiches and we shared a pastry. The prices were very affordable ($11.00 for our entire lunch). The sales staff were super friendly and the shop looked very clean. I hope we can return before leaving Frankfurt.

This German pastry shop is a true corner of paradise, where every sweet tells a story of love and tradition. Their strudel is pure poetry: the crispy pastry embraces a warm, fragrant filling that makes the heart sing. Every bite is an explosion of sweetness, like a kiss that warms the soul. Here, the passion for the art of pastry is felt in every detail, from the enveloping aroma to the refined presentation. A place where taste becomes emotion, and unconditional love melts in your mouth

We had their famous Black Forest cake and cheese cake, both were delectable. It was hard to find good Black Forest cakes in Germany and we are glad to have found this place and enjoyed a taste of Germany here. The baker/owner of the bakery was incredibly kind and we hope to come back for the carrot cake (owner said usually available around Easter only) one day! ♥️😌

Tiny little gem of a bakery in Frankfurt’s old town! ConditCouture is perfect if you love really good cakes, pastries, and sweets. The Frankfurter Kranz was one of the best I’ve tried, the staff are friendly, and everything feels high-quality and carefully made. Cozy atmosphere and a great place for a treat or a gift when exploring around Römer.

Delicious cakes. We went three times in two days. The Frankfurter Means cake was my favorite, however all of the cakes are winners. The staff is friendly and the kucken is fresh. Come here and have slice with a cup of coffee!
Philip H — Google review
The carrot cake was so moist and delicious and the best carrot cake I have ever had. I have travelled throughout North America, Asia, and Europe eating many carrot cakes. The Frankfurt Kranz was creamy, very sweet but the cake part was very dry. The hot chocolate was delicious. The Bethmannchen cookie was delicious with a marzipan taste. There are about 15 tables immediately outside of ConditCouture, with about 5 empty tables on a Saturday afternoon around 4pm. The shop is located on the periphery of the Romer-Romerberg plaza.

Wandering around the old town, you might suddenly want something sweet. Good news, there's a great place for a break with yummy cakes. You can grab a coffee to go with them and chill out. It's the perfect spot to recharge and keep exploring.
Alexis Y — Google review
The staff is attentive, they were patient with me when I tried to speak in German (they speak English). The apple strudel is good, not cloying, consistent pieces of fruit, good balance of flavors and texture. The blueberry pie wasn't the best, it had a sour aftertaste which I attribute to the fact that they don't use too much sugar which I think is great.

MokkaTeeria is a charming coffee shop in Frankfurt that offers a delightful selection of Turkish coffee, cappuccino, and other classic coffee specialties. The oriental decor adds to the enchanting ambiance. The traditional preparation of Mokka on hot sand and the use of Dalla Corte's espresso machine ensure an authentic experience. In addition to their excellent mocha coffee, they also serve delicious Chai tea and Salep for those looking for something unique.
Overall great experience. Nice staff and incredible tasting food. There was no menu in English and we still managed to order. There is a Rewe beside it with a large parking space. Would definitely return. Great value for what you are getting

When I arrived at the cafe, I didn’t expect it to be so crowded. Without a reservation, I had to wait outside for a table to become available. Since it was quite cold, around 1°C, the staff kindly came out, apologized for the wait, and offered us a free cup of tea to warm up—a gesture that truly surprised me! After about 15 minutes, we were finally able to go inside. The ambiance was delightful and very welcoming. The decor had a beautiful Arabic-Turkish style, creating a unique and cozy atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and took the time to explain the cakes on offer, even recommending the best ones. I chose the Spicy Cake and a Cheesecake with green sauce, along with two coffees. The total cost for 2 cakes and 2 coffees was €23. Both cakes were amazing, but I personally loved the Spicy Cake more! That said, there are a few downsides worth mentioning. Finding parking nearby is quite difficult. Additionally, a couple of guests brought small dogs inside on their laps, which I found it unhygienic. Lastly, some of the chairs were not very ergonomic and lacked proper back support. Despite these minor issues, I would visit the cafe again and highly recommend this wonderful cafe in the heart of Frankfurt. It’s truly worth a visit!

One of my go-to cafés in Frankfurt for cakes and tea. This time I had the Garden Party Tea with a beautiful aroma, the San Sebastian Mango Cheesecake with a fresh and light flavor (I still prefer their classic version with chocolate sauce), the Dubai Cheesecake with perfectly balanced sweetness, and the vegan Apple Cinnamon Cake which was soft, fresh, and full of apples. They have a great variety of fresh cakes, quality coffee and teas, plus breakfast and snack options. The location is central and often busy, so reserving a table is a good idea, especially on weekends. A lovely spot for anyone who enjoys good cake and a cozy atmosphere.

Nice experience overall. The Turkish coffee was beautifully presented and served, and there was a huge selection of cakes that were very tasty. The main drawback was the waiting time to find a spot, which can be lengthy. Despite that, a pleasant place for coffee, dessert, and a casual visit.
Yasmine L — Google review
The staff does not speak English very well - so this caused some confusions in the order we placed. And since this cafe is almost always busy (given their opening hours extend long in the evening and the central location), the staff may sometime act a little impatient (and impolite). This cafe offers a really large range of cakes, desserts, coffees, milkshakes, and smoothies, but the flavors in general are not standouts. Prices are slightly on the higher end.

If you're on the lookout for a remarkable dining experience in Frankfurt, make sure to visit Leuchtendroter in the Ostend area. This charming restaurant offers a seasonal menu featuring delightful tapas-style dishes, perfect for sharing with friends or family. The atmosphere is vibrant yet comfortable, allowing you to enjoy your meal without overwhelming noise.
We celebrated our anniversary at Leuchtendroter last week, and it was an unforgettable experience! This was our third time enjoying their tasting menu, and I strongly recommend going for it, even though they also offer an à la carte option. The entire menu is vegan, but the flavors are beyond impressive. Their wine selection is extensive, and the cocktails are truly out of this world. One thing that never changes is the exceptional service—always flawless! A special highlight is their homemade vodka, which is already waiting for you at the table. Always recommended! 🍷✨
Sinem G — Google review
So many good things to say about our dinner here but some disappointments. We travel a lot and try to find these dining experiences at least once per trip. It's always a treat! We found the atmosphere to be great - very busy but not too loud. Service was extremely friendly and they did a great job translating complicated dishes to English. That said, some courses were brought out before the previous round had been finished and/or cleared which was a bit sloppy for this level of dining. The 10 course meal was good, the right amount of food, and well-balanced but some dishes seemed to be missing a sauce or lacking salt while others were excellent. Few dishes "wow'd" us though, which we were expecting. Overall it was a great experience but far from perfect. Cheers!
Jeff H — Google review
The food was not quite as tasty as it was before. Small portions with interesting flavors and combinations but there was something missing. Didn’t catch me at all this time. The service was nice but most of the girls had some kind of attitude. The loving kind of 'feeling at home away from home' feeling was missing. Atmosphere was suffering because of that and the chairs are really uncomfortable ---- A small edit after the owners response: I have eaten there on more than just three occasions, but have never had an email asking me for a review. So it's a tad unlucky I was asked for an honest review on an occasion where the food didn't match my taste. Sorry for that. And yes, on other occasions the food was fantastic, so was the service. I have seen a lot of your loving service come and go over the years. In general I love the concept and will definately come again to try the next menu. But I will write an email to explain and three stars is not too bad for an honest opinion....
Sharon S — Google review
One of my absolute favourite places in town! Creative, innovative, and delicious menus that change every couple of weeks, a very solid and comprehensive wine selection, friendly and attentive staff, a gorgeous interior with an incredible atmosphere... Leuchtendroter really ticks all the boxes and I would encourage everyone (whether vegan or not) to visit it.

Unforgettable, truly magical, and utterly surprising! A visit here is an absolute must! It's not just a meal; it's an extraordinary experience that transcends the ordinary. The service is always equally refined, with a team of congenial and knowledgeable staff who gracefully attended to our inquiries. Their warmth and attentiveness elevated the entire dining affair to sheer perfection. A heartfelt thank you to the amazing team for creating such a remarkable haven. If you're looking for a dining adventure that will leave you speechless and forever enchanted, don't hesitate to visit this place. Trust me; you won't be disappointed! Everything is so well-designed, from the materials to the interior design, every detail. Even the ceramics are handmade from a local ceramic artist.

GO! Although my pictures do the food no justice, this is the best food and service experience I’ve had in Germany. We ordered everything and everything was absolutely tasty. The times between each plate were wonderfully timed. I really appreciated the non-alcoholic variety for drinks. I highly recommend going and taking the time to enjoy all the wonderful dishes.
Gaby R — Google review
Overall a great dining experience! We had a warm welcome and love the decor. Food was very very good. We ordered the entire menu and ended up having 3 dishes per person to share which was enough. While ambience, food and drinks are perfect, the service still needs to improve. After a few hours service started to ignore our table and forgot our desserts. A nice gesture was that we got one dessert for free. Prices are fair, but wine is expensive. We will be back for the new menu.
Kai H — Google review
This place is definitely a must! The entire experience around the food is marvelous. The service is exquisite, extremely friendly and caretaking. The interior of the restaurant is one of a kind and very beautiful. The cocktails, like the wine selection are delicious and very well chosen. The food has really blown my mind. The dishes are so delicately well put together. You wouldn’t want change a thing about any of it. The ingredients are very well selected and all in all it’s going to give you a unique experience you can’t have anywhere. To top things off, everything is vegan, which is absolutely amazing. You get a free bottle of liquor per table, which tastes insanely good. And in the end, the prices are way too reasonable for what you truly get! Royal Donuts Frankfurt is a must-try donut shop in the city. Lines can be long, but it's well worth the wait. Choose from a variety of delicious donuts, including rainbow sprinkle, blueberry crumble, and cronut donut!
BEST VEGAN DONUTS IN TOWN! let’s keep it short and simple: Service: Very friendly and helpful! He recommended a few tasty donuts and freshly prepared them for me. Food: If you have a sweet tooth… this is the place! Many vegan options - more than enough and all very tasty! My personal favorite will always be the classic, but nevertheless; they all were great.

Ordered online and i dont understand the complaints. As on the others pictures aswell my donuts looked exactly like advertised. Compared to DD they arw a bit lighter in my opinion which i like. Just very good donuts
Lukas J — Google review
Service mind not available here. The staff was not friendly at all. She seems annoyed and upset. She didn't smile and wasn't amused that i need time a bit to choose the donut. Today was my first time at royal donut and i need time to look around. It was not easy to choose. The price isn't reasonable. You pay1,40€ extra for nutella filling but you get a very little amount of nutella. She gave me a ripped 5€ note for a change. I asked politely for a note that is not ripped. She said she doesn't have. I asked for coins instead. She said that she doesn't have even coins for a change too.... The donut was ok. Edible. It tastes not that great but not bad. To be honest, All donuts don't look good but very messy. The chocolate coating is quiet hard. The staff's friendliness is very low. Not again.

In this period you will need to wait 30-40 min in a row to get your donuts. But still "Royal Donuts Frankfurt" are super tasty, all recomendations! 😍
Dina K — Google review
Ill begin with the positive. The staff members were very very friendly and adviced us kindly about their donut sortiment. The store itself had a wonderful location and I've felt welcomed. Outside was a great place to sit, very comfortable. HOWEVER, I was disappointed about the very thing I was visiting for. The donuts themselves didnt taste good at all. Frankly, the donuts at Rewe taste better. The dough was dry. The icing tastes like nothing and the flavors are confusing. I ordered the cheesecake donut, which looked delicious, but tasted like a mixture of margarine and lemon. The chocolate donuts were barely sweet and a bit stale. I would definitely visit again for the space and climate but the donuts themselves need a revamped recipe.
Brandon B — Google review
I get that this has become more of a scene thing than anything else, and obviously nothing anyone says would deter someone who is willing to stand in a line of 30+ people in the rain for a donut. But after months of seeing the crazy lines, I finally tried these donuts and ... they are very, very mediocre. All effort clearly goes into decoration, but the donuts themselves are too dense/spongy/oily. Disappointing!

I happened to stumble across this place while I was visiting the area and I needed breakfast and a cup of coffee. The place itself was very cute, lots of seating, considering the space and what I liked about the experience was that you could grab a quick meal or snack because they were already prepared ( some of them ) I had a lovely Chia pudding that was very a generous portion. There are lots of options and super convenient for takeaway, love that! I also ordered a flat white, which was just OK. Note that all the coffees are with plant-based milk. The one thing that took a lot away from the experience for me, was the service, there were a lot of people working behind the counter however nobody told me where to order (I thought you sit and order since there were menus on the tables) and how the service worked, when I asked, they were a bit unfriendly and told me to go to the counter to pay first. They were also quite busy with Uber eats orders, which I guess was reflected in the service.
Foodie H — Google review
Great acai bowl and all vegan, refined sugar and gluten free. Great option if you don’t mind paying a bit more! One slight issue is the service is quite slow- we got our drinks when we were almost done with our food, but the staff was pleasant. Overall good experience, if a little pricey.

Decent, healthy option. I enjoyed my meal, which was a sort of sampling platter, but my lunch companion found her bowl a bit flavorless and leaving a lot to be desired. I have been to one of Plants & Cakes other locations and had a similar experience. It's definitely not exceptional and, depending on the dish, it might be hit or miss.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I stumbled upon this gem of a cafe during my visit to Frankfurt, and I'm so glad I did! Not only do they serve some of the best-tasting sugar-free cakes I've ever tried, but the fact that they're easily digestible due to using only date sweetness is a game-changer. The breakfast options, especially the peanut-chocolate porridge, are top-notch. I was blown away by the staff's generosity when they offered to top up my peanut chocolate porridge with fresh berries at no extra cost! While the prices may be on the higher end, the quality and taste are truly magnificent. If you find yourself in Frankfurt, make sure to carve out some time to visit this cafe – it's an absolute must-visit! 🍰🥣✨

I ate one of the best açaí bowl I’ve ever had! The açaí was fresh and tasted authentic, not watered down or overpowered by banana, which is often the case at other places! 🍌 Not only did it taste amazing, it also looked lovely and very instagrammable! The bowl was prepared quickly. All in all: 10/10 would recommend! There’s outdoor and indoor seating, lots of stuff for takeaway and they also serve savory dishes!
David D — Google review
Great place for vegans / people with intolerances / fruit&veggie lovers. I enjoyed all meals we had and would love to try more if they wouldn't be so filling. Great colours, quick service and always full. Coffee might need some work but otherwise we were happy and will be back.

The lady behind the counter was super courteous and friendly, very patient. The green smoothies are made from scratch and it was delicious! Nice food, white asparagus soup is excellent! Steak is so-so, lobster is not recommended Need to work on service a bit.
Tom H — Google review
We had a very negative experience at Zarges last night. The wine list is ridiculously expensive and every single wine we chose under 100 euros was not available. They would not offer us any other alternative at a decent price. We finally asked to speak to the Manager who said she would look into finding a wine for us and she sent over the waiter with a terrible wine. He then recommended another wine that we did not know and we asked if we could try it first and he said if we try it we buy it. We then asked to see the Manager again (I could see her in the background). The waiter went to find her and came back telling us that she left. We finally decided to leave as well. They did not charge us for the two drinks and two appetizers we had. It is baffling that they wouldn't find a decent solution and it ended up costing them two customers and probably 40 euros in food and drinks. It was a very strange experience.

I visited the restaurant tonight. Upon arrival, I was ordering my meal and asked for hot water for drink because it was a really cold day. The waiter acknowledged but never brought back the water. I have rarely encountered something like this before and upon paying the bill, I was told by another waiter that I need to tip. I always tip the restaurant I visit, so I did tip him, but his attitude was really terrible and the fact that your service was so far below the standard made me very angry for the fact that they still asked for the tip! Then, I was told that the person who asked me to tip is the manager of the restaurant, so I told him about the hot water issue. However, he didn't say anything or acknowledged anything, nor did he bring the hot water to us. Then, at the same time, the lady who sat at the other table also said to the manager that she ordered hot water too but never received the hot water either. Again, no apology or acknowledgement. Be warned to visit this place as the attitude of the people here will not make it a pleasant experience. Horrible!

Really aweful service! Never seen such a low level service in Frankfurt. We couldn’t get the slice of cake we asked for because they sell only the whole cake - unbelievable - and it was already late afternoon, so I guess they wanted to save the Torta for the day after. The service is really slow and they don’t consider you. Plus they tried to charge us an extra tea and cappuccino on the bill. Its also really expensive. Piece of cake 7€ and saft as well! No deserved any tip. Will never go there anymore!

Good schnitzel and beer. Service can be a bit slow at times but staff is friendly. Just try to stay sober if you want to visit the restroom as it is up a winding set of stairs and could result in a tumble.

Overrated most of all overpriced We only had cakes to take home. Normally we go to iimori. The zarges cakes are at the same price but not very refined (amateurish) and lack in flavour. The short crust on the strawberry cake had no flavour. The chocolate caked also lacked in flavour and did not have a richness you would expect. We love our cakes and these were a real let down.

The service is very poor. Good products, but I never get a nice overall experience. They seem to be always on the hurry and make you feel unwelcomed.

Satisfied with the Quality of Croissants we bought there. Butter Croissant especially was really good. Would be great if they keep more variety of stuff.

(Translated by Google) The saleswoman is very friendly, the best bread in town, very good on the same day, but no longer usable after the second day. It's extremely annoying that it's only open on weekends and holidays. And if you go there on a Sunday, for example, July 13, 2025, it's closed, even though it says it's open online. This should be improved.

(Translated by Google) Simply delicious! The onion and caraway bread are addictive. They still taste fresh the next day, that's quality. The cakes and minis are also highly recommended. And the prices are absolutely fair. My favorite is the marble cake. (Original) Einfach lecker!
