Finally visited this place and was not disappointed. The cocktails and the finger food were great! They have a limited menu and limited veg options but whatever options were there were great. One has to order at the bar and it's mostly self serve except food. The place can get pretty crowded during weekends. We ordered almost everything from the food menu and really liked the shrimp tacos / al pastor baos/ mushroom empanadas.

Paper Plane is an amazing spot for a late-night hangout in downtown San Jose! If you’re looking for great drinks, good food, and a lively atmosphere, this place checks all the boxes. The food was equally impressive—perfect for sharing and exactly what you want when you’re out for a night of good drinks and conversations. Service was another highlight. Despite how busy it was, the staff was quick, friendly, and attentive without ever feeling rushed. It made the whole experience even better. The vibe at Paper Plane is perfect for both small groups and larger gatherings. It’s lively without being overwhelming, and the seating setup makes it easy to relax and enjoy the night. After an exciting win by the 49ers it was time to have one last meal before we hit the road from San jose. This restaurant came highly recommended as a family member of mine said she really loved their tacos. I enjoyed the ease of the menu as you pick your items told the bartender and paid in advance I ordered the vegan tacos along with the truffled fries. My friend ordered a bacon hamburger. I enjoyed that the food did not take much time to come out and the Truffle fries had great flavor I really enjoyed the tacos as you couldn't tell there wasn't meat in them. The brussel sprouts along with their sauce and pickled onions gave these tacos a really good flavor profile. Overall I definitely would try them again. I wasn't able to try a drink at the bar because I was the designated driver for the night however I'd love to try their Bar menu as they had some unique drinks that should be explored.

Solid cocktail bar! Went on a Wednesday night so it was a bit empty but crowded at the bar. Had several cocktails there and all tasted great. Tried one of their special cocktails (had gochujang in it) which I wasn’t a huge fan of but the old fashioned was tasty. The bartender was super friendly and made sure everyone had a drink.

Great place to chill if you're in the area! They have this menu with a cross-section of different flavor profiles to try 😋 even so the bartenders were fantastic and recommend me some great drinks outside the menu! Great music and awesome staff!

Excellent bar in Sanjose. I loved the cocktail selections and names on the menu card. The 4 quadrant graph for cocktail selection was fun and quirky.

Trying this place for the first time, it's great. It has a small menu so not too intimidating. Happy hour is from 5-7pm. The koji wings were good but not what I expected. I thought they would have sauce. They actually are fried but oh so good. The cheeseburger was delish! I got it with regular fries. The most amazing thing was the brussel sprout tacos. OMG! Very delicious, had to order a second batch. You get two for a serving. The atmosphere is very casual yet upbeat. The alcoholic drinks are great. The "Don't tell Mom" is a great drink. Also, "Summer '93". It's a different drink but has vanilla ice cream. Music is not too loud but enough to vibe off to.

I wouldn’t call this hidden or a speakeasy because it’s easily accessible from the street. Although there’s no name on the outside, just a logo of a hat and tie. For sure speakeasy vibe. The servers are all dressed in true Haberdasher theme with a measuring tape around their neck. Inside has the dim underground lighting. We stopped for one drink and I couldn’t make up my mind. So many great choices. We got Pagoda and Putter Up. The Pagoda has the green basil drops that almost look like mold!..haha very tasty. The Putter Up was with scotch. Too strong for me. They have tables, booths and high top tables. There’s a glass case in the back full of high end premium spirits. You can join $25 monthly membership to get 5 rare tastings a month.

Big thumbs up on the friendly service, cozy environment, and top-notch cocktails! Went here with a friend last night (Friday) around 8pm. Already getting crowded but we still found a cozy place to sit and could hear each other pretty well. Can't say enough about the friendly, welcoming, and talented staff and wish I had gotten their names so I could better recognize them here. The doorman was genuinely warm and instantly made us feel welcome (though I was amused he even requested to check the ID of 50something gray-haired me :D). The bartender closest to the entrance immediately and warmly welcomed us as well. Two different bartenders served us and both were friendly, engaging, and clearly talented at their craft. My friend and I tried four very different cocktails and all were great! I do wish they served food other than just nuts here; while in fairness there's a food hall just around the corner with a decent variety of options, it would have been nice to sip the cocktails alongside food. Re pricing: most of the cocktails are $17 + tax + tip, though their cocktails on draft (!) range from $12-16. EDITED TO ADD: Disappointed to discover that Haberdasher calculates the tip as a percentage of the purchase PLUS taxes. I get why places do this (obviously), but it just doesn't seem very fair.

Their bartenders make great drinks! I wish that their interior was more decorated and felt more like a British speakeasy pub.

This is our favorite spot! We've been here plenty of times and I wonder how I haven't written a review. This place is fantastic; from its vibe to their cocktails to their incredible service. We come here for date nights and special occasions and it hasn't let us down. My favorites include the Mango Tango and Tally Me Banana but recently learned that although I'm not a huge fan of coffee flavors, the Back in Black is also amazing. If you love craft cocktails, you can't go wrong here. The downstairs going into dark lighting and red walls really add a nice touch to a date night as well.

Our drinks were amazing and we loved our bartender. She would give you samples to make sure you liked the drink she created before you committed. She would also get to know your taste and recommend drinks. Best drinks we had downtown all night.

Favorites: Born Again Cajun & Kodak moment. Hidden gem in downtown San jose. It is an absolutely amazing cocktail bar. It is an underground place and has exotic drinks. A couple of tips: they don't have food, just some nuts as snacks, and they check every single person ID.

They don’t serve food here. Just some chips. Love their cocktails. The mixologists are well trained and very knowledgeable. If you tell what kind of drink you like, they will custom make it for you. Even the bouncers are friendly, respectful and recommend great drinks!! Must visit, recommend 💯

I loved the atmosphere here. It was dark, loud and full of drunk people. It made me feel young. The music is extremely loud, so if you want to have a conversation, this might not be a place for you. Some of my friends got the Guinness, whereas I got a rum based cocktail which was very good and also reasonably priced. If your main objective is to have a good time, would definitely recommend this place. The decor is very irish and would transport you back to pubs in London and Ireland.

They had as love name playing traditional music that was nice without being too loud. The food was really good, as was the drink selection. I'll happily come back here next time I'm in town.

We were there during St. Patrick’s day. What a great atmosphere and vibe! A great band was playing and the people were so nice.

Awesome Irish pub in San Jose California. Great service and atmosphere. Watched Kentucky Derby with friends and had a great time. Tried Guinness and it was really good.

This is a pub in San Fernando. I drank beer during happy hour. I ate French fries as a side dish. The price is relatively cheap. The atmosphere had a strong old pub feel, the TV was placed so that people could enjoy it comfortably, and the old photos were also nice to see. However, many of the guests were accompanied by dogs. Please keep this in mind when considering the atmosphere. The clerk was friendly.As the location is in a busy area, consider paid parking or street parking.

My old stomping grounds. Haven’t been back in a while since I moved away from Downtown San Jose. They still have one of the most impressive whisky collections I’ve ever seen. The old fashioneds are the best here and I’m not sure why no where else has been able to replicate it. I’m glad they’re still doing well but I’ll have to try to come back more often.

I went to 55 South in San Jose and had an amazing experience. The atmosphere was chic and cozy, perfect for a night out. I ordered their signature cocktail and a steak, and both were excellent. The steak was cooked perfectly, tender, and flavorful, and the cocktail was refreshing with the right balance of flavors. The service was outstanding; the staff was attentive and made sure everything was to my liking. I also enjoyed the music playing in the background, which added to the vibe of the restaurant. I’ll definitely be coming back for another great meal.

Came here as vendor for an event and this is by far one of the best bars I've been to. The decor, the staff, the atmosphere... Also heard the drinks were top notch as well!

Happy hour from 4-7pm. Came on Tuesday around 6PM. A lot of space at the bar. At least 4 tables available. Great food, good selection for happy hour drink. A little loud but not enough to shout.

This place is delicious! I mean, the food is delicious! Service was great. It has a classy feel to it. They don't allow minors in after 8 p.m. because that's when it's grown up time. They have hand sanitizer on every table. Bathroom was clean. Security checks ID at the door. And I'm enjoying my adult eggnog Ray faboulsy made!!

I’m so impressed! I came in on a Tuesday night looking for dinner and a good drink. There were two bartenders, and both were amazing. I started with a margarita made with Forteleza Añejo. The bartender used great, fresh ingredients – so good. The other bartender made a Naked and Famous. I mentioned that I don’t like a super smoky mezcal, and the drinj he made me was perfectly balanced. I ordered the beef stew – so good! I can’t wait to go back!

Wonderful Experience at Trails Pub in San Jose! Trails Pub in San Jose is a gem that should not be missed. Whether you're looking for a delicious meal, a relaxed atmosphere, or a great selection of drinks, this place has it all. Nice beers on tap, loved the Smithwicks. My partner had Dragon's Slayer. We wanted to play darts, and you can just request darts from the amazing bartender. I can't wait to return and try more of their offerings.

Generous pours of a diverse set of beers, ranging from wheat to stouts. And then the combinations thereof. Had a chill Friday evening here and got a ploughman's plate, though one of the cheeses was a bit fungal. Decent prices & friendly staff. We took vta here, but parking might be possible on nearby streets.

The food is underrated here. Everything from the curry dish to the mozzarella sticks is delicious. Fair price and good portions. Very welcoming and laid back atmosphere.

This is a nice cosy little English pub. No loud music making it possible to have actual conversations. They have a nice little fireplace as well. Their chicken pot pie with salad is amazing. As for their beer I recommend the Dragon Slayer. 😊

Very disappointed with my experience. I visited last night to support some local bands and friends who were performing. The drinks were mediocre—I ordered a Long Island and a tequila lime soda, both of which were made incorrectly and tasted watered down. After the performances, a few friends and I stepped outside for some air. There were multiple groups gathered outside, not just ours. At one point, we noticed another group—whom we did not know—taking Jell-O shots. While my group was simply standing in a circle talking, a bouncer suddenly approached us, yelling and accusing us of taking Jell-O shots. He told us we were being disrespectful to the bar and that we were no longer allowed back inside. I explained that none of us had taken any Jell-O shots and even showed him to prove it. He responded that he didn’t care and reiterated that we were banned from re-entering. You’re seriously going to kick out a group of 20 people who came to support your venue and brought in significant business—for something we didn’t even do? That’s absolutely unprofessional. Businesses should remember that their customers are the reason they stay open. This situation was incredibly frustrating because we were doing nothing wrong—just standing outside and following the rules. Overall: I do not recommend this place. The drinks are overpriced and watered down (especially for a dive bar), and the staff is rude and unprofessional. I won’t be spending my money here again.

I can’t believe how poorly they treat their customers and performers. From the moment I walked in to set up for the show, the staff were snippy with my band, friends, and family. They ended up kicking out nearly all of us because someone had a drink outside, and they took it personally—even going as far as banging on the bathroom door to kick out a friend simply for being associated with us. It’s a shame they cleared out almost the entire bar before the closer could perform. This is no way to treat local musicians or their supporters. Sadly, this was our first live performance—and it will definitely be our last at this venue.

Good local place, strong pours on drinks. Mostly a rock club with live local music/bands, but they do other things sometimes.

As someone from freaking Kansas I've never had a chance to experience a proper punky dive bar. Cheap Pabst, free music, great people. When I return this will be a place I stop. The people were drunk but friendly and the owner as well as the bartenders kept things moving. I'd pay 10 dollars just to enter a place like this in Wichita, it wouldn't have live music and the drinks would be twice as expensive. Amazing why we have no night life here.

I was here for a private event and had a nice experience. LOCATION This bar is conveniently located near San Pedro's square (SPS). You can park in the SPS parking lot which provides 90 minutes of parking for free and only $1 for each additional 15 minutes. It's a short 5 minutes walk from the parking lot to the bar. AMBIANCE I like the spaciousness and warm decorated vibes that this place gives. Noise level is reasonable. Their restrooms are also clean and tidy. SERVICES Our server was attentive and made me one of the best Amaretto Sour drinks. Overall, I enjoy this place. Though I haven't tried any of their food item yet, I heard good things about them from my friends who've been here before. I'll definitely consider Five Points next time.

I don’t really do bad reviews but I was really upset about this business. We were having a 30 year birthday next door and want to continue our celebration at five points. We were a group of 8 Asian American girls but only had a bottle of champagne between the 8 of us. The bouncer declined our entrance and continued to let other people that were not Asian American that looks very intoxicated through the door. We asked why and the bouncer just simply said “no”. No explanation or anything.

Cool bar with lots of seating. It has an old rustic vibe and on the night we visited there was live music which everyone was enjoying. Drink menu is standard with an in house cocktail menu that's special to the location. Good selection of wine as well. They could do with maybe one more server. Seemed a lot of one person to do but it was a Tuesday so perhaps a usually slow evening that was surprisingly busy.

I'm very shocked this was the only place in Dowtown SJ that did not accept me due to my outfit, basic cut sleeves shirt, jeans and shoes. Due to my outfit, I will need to cover my arms, so my friend lend his jacket and security/bouncer still did not want to let me in and told me to completely change. All I can say when someone looks ugly as a bouncer/security, they get will be hating on you since your very good looking. Customer service lost, all good. Just looking out for y'all.

We’ve visited Five Points twice now. Both times, I’ve enjoyed my cocktails, but the first time my husband wasn’t impressed with their old fashioned. This latest visit, however, was a turning point for him - he said the old fashioned was a little bit spicy in a way, which is unique and he really liked it. I think we’ll be adding this bar to our regular rotation

Good drinks and atmosphere - walking distance to the Sharks game and a nice stop prior to the game. We ended up getting a great booth on the back of the restaurant and it was a delightful experience. The service was also excellent. Revised / 5 stars when we arrived for service, atmosphere and the drinks but when the food came it was a solid 2 stars. Being gluten free, I had limited options and ordered the nacho fries. They came cold and not appetizing at all. Rounding up to 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ based on the other attributes but not a dinner destination for GF or even others.

I was looking for a restaurant with live music on a Monday night, I found five points, and I was thrilled. They had a live jazz/blues band that seemed to bring in different instrumentalist. It was so much fun to watch. I had the most delicious nacho fries. The drinks were really good, but had a lot of ice and they were playing the raider game on TV. My server was super nice and attentive. What an awesome night!

My recommendation is to avoid this place and go somewhere else, anywhere else. The food is dog meat at best. Brisket lacked on every level (Thin, dry, covered with a thin, peculiar tasting barbeque sauce), the ribs were extremely over cooked, dry as can be (you can snap the meat in half). The meat (both brisket and ribs) tasted like it was microwaved. The atmosphere (which has incredible potential) and vibe is lacking anything desirable. The service was poor. If you are going to be a waiter/waitress engaging with you customers is key. When someone says they are going to head to the bar to look at the whiskey selection (and you do just that), the next question or engagement should be: "What whiskey can I get you?" I would imagine this also increases the bill which generally increases the tip, (but only if a nice tip is deserved). Zero mention of any whiskey or another recommended beverage. Spend your money and time elsewhere.

Vibe’s got that laid-back Western BBQ feel, and the staff keeps it easygoing. But the food? Straight-up Chili’s level. Solid local hangout, just not worth crossing town for.

The service was well done. The heated up food was so-so. The brisket was dry and dated. I sent it back and it was less dry but still dated.

We dropped by the Old Wagon Saloon to catch some college football action and enjoy some food and drinks. Seated at the bar, the bartender provided excellent service. We opted for beers and Paloma cocktails. In terms of food, we ordered extra crispy garlic fries, chicken wings with sweet and spicy sauce, the shrimp Louie salad, and an assortment of barbecue meats including ribs, brisket, and pulled pork. Our top picks were the wings, pulled pork, and the Shrimp Louie. The Western ambiance added to the chill vibe of the place. Situated adjacent to San Pedro Square, there's a parking structure conveniently across from the restaurant. It's a great spot to watch games, although the TVs at the bar are a bit too high. Your best bet is to sit in the middle of the restaurant to have access to screens on both sides of the walls.

Food was very basic. Ordered a Chipotle fried chicken sandwich with cheese and there was no Chipotle to be found. Brisket was bland and looked old...service was okay. Our server was nice but not tentative and did not check in once. Would not come back unless it was just for drinks. Cool vibes inside and out but not a good place for food service

I've had bbq all around the country...this was one of the worst tasting bbq I've ever had. Tritip looked like it was frozen and then heated up too quickly and tasted like it too...white meat, no rings. They put a sauce on it that tasted like thin gravy, not bbq Brisket was overcooked or tasted like they just added bbq sauce to yesterday's meat. The server was nice, but there was only one other person inside. Cornbread was good. Albondigas soup was good.

TLDR: Go for the beer, bonus points if you love fries. Be forewarned, when we were there, the food menu was burgers and fries *only*. That said, they're damn good burgers and fries, just don't expect other options. Beer options were excellent. I enjoyed the Imperial Stout from Russian River and my wife liked the hard seltzer from someone or other. No frills, but did have TVs with football on. Beer, burgers, and football means I'd go back.

Great food & great beer! I LOVED their sours, and the grilled cheese is super ooey-gooey with a nice crispy buttery crunch to it, although it filled me up REALLY fast and I ended up taking 1/2 home. Overall, great place and I will be back!

I went with a large group of friends and we are all able to sit it the same table thanks to the outdoor seating in the back patio. The Fries were very crispy and the smash burger was extremely smashed(I’ve never had such a thin burger but it was great).

My favorite bar to start off an evening out. They have a rotating tap with a great selection of microbrews for everyone's taste. I enjoy sours which they always have a few delicious options. Burgers and fries also. Veggie burger option available.

A fantastic place to have a good beer. I had a Oak Town and loved the taste of it. We ended up here after a long walk with a group of people. There is lot of sitting area in the back side of this place. The lightnings and the wooden plane setup at the back gives you a feel of belonging. Prices were reasonable, order and delivery time is very fast. Staff was helpful in making some good recommendation to the group.

Good craft beers selection. Love the sour beer on the list. Good staff and nice decor. They also support local artists by displaying their art for sale. The tables and bar stools are very comfortable and make it A good place to hang out with fellow beer buddies. Must try when in downtown San Jose.

Came here for drinks after work. There is ample space, and when we came around 5:30 on a Friday, there weren’t many people yet, but by the time we left, it was packed. I can see why because it provides a friendly, laid-back atmosphere. The service is super friendly and I liked their selection of drinks. We chose to sit outside for some fresh air. The succulents on the wall and the string lights were cute. I’ve been here before to eat spicy chicken sandwiches, but for now, it seems like the only things on their menu are the duck fat fries and the Smashburger. The Smashburger is simple and savory. It really is smashed; the meat is flat and it looks like it’s almost a cheese crisp. The fries were crispy and delicious. They are thick and crinkle cut. I really loved their garlic aïoli because it really packs a spicy punch. You can also ask for spicy ketchup. I paired this with the Board Meeting beer. It’s a brown ale that looks like a stout/porter. I’m not sure if the food here is rotated or anything, but I would love to come back!

The place is generally very happening every time I have passed by so finally tried it. I do not appreciate that they make their waitresses wear skimpy clothes, especially more so in the winter. Like why!? You will do just fine with having them warmly dressed. I would give this place a 5 star if not for this. I did love the cocktail I got, it was a coffee one and so good. There was a huge block of ice in the middle and then the drink around it. So no ice chunks weirdly coming in your mouth, and the drink was so smooth and tasty!

Consider this place more of a bar than a restaurant. Place was simple but cute. Had an open floor concept to it. Food: it was okay. Not the best, but it wasn’t the worst. Cocktails were well made. They delivered what and how they needed to deliver! 🙃 Service: Super friendly staff! However, cleaning the kitchen (spraying, wiping, brooming, mopping, etc) while still cooking food orders cannot be sanitary!!!! 🫠 Ambience: DJ was on point! Definitely would go back on a late spring or summer day/night just for cocktails. Parking: available either in nearby structures or meter street parking.

Since the day this place opened. It has been a delight. Definitely on the list of some of the best happy hour in downtown San Jose. Consistency is king and with this spot consistency is on point. Everything from the sticky ribs to their warm burrata cheese, the food is great. I understand there. Chef is very talented and is indeed keeping the bar high. Happy hour drinks are a good deal, and if you get there early enough, you can find a seat at the bar or outside on the covered patio. I’m glad they’ve survived and are still doing great things.

I’m not even sure how this place deserves a one star 🤦🏻‍♀️. Paid over 2k for bottle service to celebrate my sister in laws birthday. We were told we can go out to change clothes and come back as long as we had a stamp. Came back 5 mins later and was told my husband and I could not come back in due to the “manager” saying we could not re-enter I said there must be some misunderstanding and asked to please speak to the manager and the security was so rude (one with ponytail and septum piercing). We were told to leave and come back another time! Completely ridiculous! Definitely bring your service elsewhere!

Don't bother to go here! Our brunch experience was horrible. Where do I start! We were given dinner menu first despite confirming about the menu. Service is super slow, our orders weren't taken for the longest time. The waitress forgot to get our mains. Food lacked seasoning and tasted bland. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone.

Food was okay. I'm disappointed in the quality. I used to come here nearly every week. The oysters were flavorless. The ribs... What happened?!? I used to order 2-3 servings if these to take home. The pork belly was disappointing. The burrata and beet salad were the best part. Chicken wings were cooked perfectly. I enjoyed the smokey chili rub. The worst part? It took HALF AN HOUR to get the bill. I wish I were exaggerating. Never again.

Spacious, albeit rather bare, rooms spread over two floors + roof top with DJ Set Up. Well-mixed long drinks and cocktails. The staff is very attentive and speaks English, Spanish, and German. The garlic fries are highly recommended!

The speakeasy is such a nice place to sit down with friends and enjoy some well crafted cocktails. The potatoes are unique and delicious, highly recommended. The bar tenders are super friendly!

I am rating this bar a 5 simply because of the amazing service we received from Rinada. She was kind and helpful and made the BEST lemon drop I had in my life!!! Honorable mention is Robin with the stache and lushes locks, come for the lemon drops and lushes locks 🫶🏼

There was no wait on a Saturday at 6 pm. The staff was friendly and attentive. Quality of the food wasn't outstanding, but the service more than made up for it. It's a great place to get friends together and share small plates. They turn the restaurant into more of a nightclub after 10:30.

Renata and Robin gave us the best lemon drops i’ve ever had! incredibly talented and such great service! WE HAD THE BEST TIME!!

We were lucky to get a table as this place had three private parties going on. We managed to eat in the outdoor tent area which was cooler than inside but still ok. We each ordered appetizer size food and was a perfect amount for the not so hungry. Prawns were cooked perfectly and paired well with the mixed greens. Our waitress, Nicole, wasn’t so great. She poured a taste of wine and left the table with our bottle for all of us to pour ourselves. She was not attentive and seemed very quick to try and run away from us. We will be back for the food and hope we don’t sit in her section.

Honestly, this place has always been mid and the bouncers are real selective about who they allow in often based solely on appearance like tattoos or some other arbitrary thing. As if this place was such an exclusive hang or something, it's kinda funny 🤦🏾‍♂️

Came here years ago and loved it as a quiet hangout spot with an extensive tap line-up and lots in the fridge. Outisde seating was nice too. To my horror, when I popped in recently there were only 3-4 beers on tap (and not interesting or adventurous choices, think Sierra Nevada), disco lights and loud music. Maybe some people like it better this way, but if you're into beer this is no longer a destination when in San Jose

They're back! The patio has all new furniture and the inside is fully renovated in a very smart style. The beer cooler is gone so the beer selection is more limited than before, but they offer a short list of cocktails and wine. Would like to see some non-alcoholic options, which the menu is lacking.

Cool brewery, good customer service, was a bit slow but didn't have no lines, they allow dogs but dont offer any water bowls or snacks for the dogs kinda lame. They had good craft beers I forgot what I had but it was really tasty and light definitely recommend a check this place out thanks for being my shoulder 😎

Amazing selection of outstanding beers. Despite the price, it was a very pleasant experience trying out various beers with very unique flavors. Aside from a rotating tap, they also have multiple fridges full of other beers. They do not serve food, but are fine with outside food, so feel free to bring some food back and enjoy it with all the fine beers they offer. For 10 a beer, this isn't the kind of place I'd go too often, but is definitely where I would go to spoil myself.

Awesome craft beer bar that is constantly rotating their taps. I have probably tried a new IPA every time I have been here. Also has a large selection of bottles you can enjoy in house or take home and as an added perk they allow you to bring in outside food since they only sell packaged snacks in house. Great patio and friendly bartenders. I highly suggest this place.

5 stars for the alcohol on tap. I never seen a tap list with rye wine, barlyewine, and tequila ba strong ale together. You can't even get those in a beer store. So this place pretty much have everything you could wish for. They have some unique beer for to go as well.

We came to Dr. Funk for the first time today. Sadly, it's unlikely we will return. There are 4 drinkers at the table and the only person happy with their drink is the person who drank a beer. ☹️ The drinks we ordered had no hint of fresh fruit juice, cheap alcohol, and had a medicinal taste. No tropical aspect at all. The cups were packed with ice and were small and plastic. We suspect the cups were due to the event but the charge should be 50% less. We also think maybe the ratios were off due to the cups and ice. Not really sure but at $17 a drink, you expect it to taste good. Especially from a tiki bar. We just walked away from $34 worth of no bueno and one of the drinks was consumed just because of the principle that he can't walk away. On a positive note, the staff is very nice and cute. The food we had was very good. The mushroom curry is very flavorful. I would've liked more substance, it's mostly sauce but the flavor is really good. The spam fried rice was also very good. The spam was crispy and the flavor profile of the rice was good. We are used to Forbidden Island in Alameda for the drink quality, so it's probably hard to go to any place with less quality but it's sad that we were so disappointed in the drinks. The place is very very cute inside and vibrant but it just wasn't enough to bring us back. :(

Dr. Funk is hands-down one of the best late-night spots in San Jose, especially if you’re hanging out with friends in San Pedro Square. Whether you’re into tropical, fruity blends or bold, strong mixes, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The outdoor seating area is a huge plus, especially on warm evenings. It’s a great spot for conversations, laughs, and people-watching in the heart of San Pedro Square. The casual atmosphere makes it perfect for both small groups and bigger hangouts.

One of the best places for happy hour. We had our drinks and food brought to us very quickly. The staff was welcoming and fun. The ambiance and the decor was phenomenal and detailed. Overall a great tiki spot!

The drinks are the BEST!! I love the Phoenix Rising... Get it!! It's a unique beverage and ever so pretty!! They ALWAYS decorate the interior and exterior so elaborately. I just love this place!!!

Went with some friends and we each ordered a cocktail. Out of the 4 of us, not one of us truly enjoyed our cocktail. We all tried each other's to much of our disappointment. Bar has a nice vibe and the staff was friendly enough, the drinks were just plainly not enjoyable

Atmosphere was ok. They had decorated for Christmas which was fine but not that great or exciting. Cardboard cutouts aside, it was a half-hearted attempt at best. We were the first ones in when they opened and the table was already sticky from the previous night. Really? Yuck! Made me wonder if anyone actually cleaned this place. The drinks were overpowered and while ok, not the balanced drink you’d expect from a tiki bar. Decided not to try the food after the sticky table mess. So many other choices nearby on San Pedro area that I’d skip this and try out the others next time. Oh, and dog friendly means outdoor only as our friends found out.

A place with good vibes and live music and lots of food choices. Liked the beers on tap, especially the IPA. Smooth and just enough punch. Enjoyed the pizza but no seasoning other chilli flakes and cheese. Garlic yucca fries were decent but the dip made it better.

I went for the beer and it didn't disappoint. Many hazy IPAs to choose from. And the bartender was super helpful! I took the beer out to the patio to watch some baseball and there was luve music !

Fun marketplace with many shops.... - ice cream shop to start the marketplace - great Indian Dosa place - South Asian - Pizza place - Few Nice bars - Open air seating in the middle - indoor seating with sports on TVs - There is even a Tequila Bar !! - Nepali momo bar - Mexican restaurant - Peruvian Restaurant - and more Kind of a mini Boston Market (of course smaller and less famous). But similar vibes, less crowded, less touristy. Has good parking nearby.

We came from out of town just to visit this market. (An hour and a half, drive time) Read a few reviews on the restaurants, but not too much said about the whole market itself. So, I wanted to review the market as a whole. I'll try, I mean. Arrived 10 minutes before doors were opened. Seems like a good neighborhood/area of San Jose. Plenty of parking when we arrived at 10:45am. *Free parking for the first 90 minutes, large parking garage, we ended up paying $3 for the extra 30-40 minutes afterward. We walked halfway around the block, and everything outside was kept clean and pleasing to the eyes. There was a coffee shop already open and taking customers, especially love the outdoor seating. Saw a few dogs on leashes. Their main website says dogs allowed, they just need to be well-behaved. *Two main food courts. Both courts have their own ambiance. One seems more dimmed and busier while the other was more open (bigger as well) stalls spaced more apart. Surprisingly, both courts had bars. One had a full service bar while the other mainly focused on craft beers, micro brew & IPA's on tap. This bar had canned beers too if there wasn't anything on tap you didn't like. There is plenty of outside seating area from four tops to benches to seating for 6-8 people. Tables and booths inside market area too. *Bathrooms- 4 of them situated around the market. And each had 3-6 stalls per bathroom. *Security was present. They seemed vigilant and were always walking around. *18-20 stalls of food, drinks, and snack stands to pick from. Asian, Mexican, pizzeria, American food to coffee, tea and boba drinks to pick from.

This place is great! I came for lunch while visiting the area with family. we ordered a few things to try different foods and I really enjoyed the seafood spot. They had a lot of spaces indoor and outdoor to sit and enjoy your meal. For those who like sports, they were playing the football games!

Lots of good food options in the market. The outside open area is great to hangout with friends and family. It is very lively out there specially over the weekends!! parking might be difficult to find. There are lot of good bars and restaurants outside of the market. Bars are open till late thats great.

If every town had a spot like this, we’d all be better off. Great live music. A food option for everyone. Multiple bars with various offerings.

I was here working for a week and was eating fast food and my body was highly upset about the whole food situation. On our last day in town I found this place with great reviews. Bartender was great and answered all our questions, I finally went with the pork chop. It was easily hands down, the best pork chop I ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Add a old fashioned and I was in a great place to be. Absolutely 🔥. Will definitely return to give the 5 Starz this place deserves. Do yourself a favor and just go!

Good service. But my shrimp carbonara came out too salty. The mixed drinks were delish. The total came out a bit pricey for the quality of the food.

We came during happy hours. $10 on selected appetizers, $5 on selected beers/ wines/ cocktails. Their mussels are good! We also ordered the wings, bison burger, calamari, a couple of HH drinks, and our total before tips was $90. Will probably come back for the mussels and try other entrees. Though we will sit at the bar next time, the sit down area was a little loud even though there were not many people inside.

The area where this restaurant is located can be very busy, especially during Fri and weekends, so plan accordingly. There is a parking garage nearby which is very convenient. The night we went for dinner was quiet so we were able to get a table right away. Our server was very courteous and helpful since it was our first time there. They have a good selection of beer and cocktails. The four we ordered were great. Appetizers were very generous in portion: calamari and the French fries. Both came out fresh and crispy with loads of flavor. Our main entrees were surf and turf (6oz sirloin and grilled halibut) and NY strip steak. Again, both came out perfectly and we're delicious. Overall a great place for drinks and meal with friends or date.

Really nice place. I went in kind of early so it wasn't too crowded. Staff is on top of it. Had the waygu burger, it was awesome. Had a great old fashioned. Will definitely go back again!

We were able to dine in now that 25 percent is allowed. We were the only one in the restaurant. Everyone was in the patio. We had to fill out a form for the city of San Jose. The service was good. The food was only above average for us. We had the calamari for appetizer. The batter was good but the calamari was a little chewy. We're calamari aficionados so our standard is a little high. I had the pork chop. It was juicy enough, but a little on the bland side. It was also a little small. The wife had the steak. Again it was juicy but a little bland. So it was an above average dining experience.

Came here for brunch today and it was OK. I think if they had more staff my review would have been 4 stars. Our waiter seemed as though he was the only waiter working, and unfortunately drink and food did take awhile. That being said I didn’t realize Sunday’s were only the brunch menu and he did tell me the kitchen could accommodate me ordering Mac + cheese. He was very accommodating and I think had he had more time to dedicate to each table it would have been a better overall experience. The food was just OK. I will be back to see how it is in a few months maybe.

Hosted an event here and the staff was PHENOMENAL. The coordinating of the event with Julia was effortless and smooth. The staff that evening was exceptional at taking our groups food and drink orders and making sure we were well cared for. We will be back! We also had some appetizers for the event that were perfect. The fruit platter was amazing and all the fruit was sweet and perfectly ripe! That's rare for a fruit platter anywhere... Potato skins and chips and guac were delicious as well!

If you're looking for a proper British fish and chips experience, this is, unfortunately, not it. You get steak fries, the fish was fine but not amazing, the atmosphere was just a sports bar. I think it would have been better sitting outside, but still the food was average and the prices were surprisingly high. Just cooking real chips from potatoes would really elevate this and make it much better I think. Overall not terrible, but not what I was looking for!

We were looking forward to enjoying some potato skins along with traditional English fare. We arrived around 5 PM, and the restaurant was not very crowded, possibly due to a graduation party wrapping up. We ordered a Diet Coke, a beef Cornish pastie, and sweet potato fries as a substitute for the mashed potatoes. Unfortunately, my Diet Coke was overlooked, and the pastie arrived with mashed potatoes instead of the sweet potatoes I requested. The biggest disappointment was that the potato skins were unavailable, which made us wonder if they might be pre-frozen and reheated. On a positive note, I appreciated that they substituted my mashed potatoes as requested. Additionally, since the drink was forgotten, I didn’t end up being charged for it. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the beef pastie was quite tasty and generously sized.

I’ve been here twice. Food is pretty much “bar food”, so don’t have high expectations. I knew it’s not going the best meal ever….!!! Of course combine that with British culinary and you know you’re not eating anything special. The bangers are usually the ordinary sausage and chips are potato fries. Last time I had the stake and kidney which I regret ordering it. This time I thought I’ll try something else. I didn’t have the Shepherds pie but I’ve heard from others it’s not that great. We ordered four different meals. The stake sandwich looked ok. The Cornish pastie was super dry and we had to ask for extra Garvey and that didn’t help either. Same thing with the chicken pot pie it was too dry. The side veggies were steamed. I usually pick on my family’s dishes when there’s veggies but these looked nothing appetizing so I didn’t even bother tasting them. I ordered the Patti melt which I think it was the most better looking of all four meals and yet not the best Patti melt out there. The Patti was much smaller than the rye bred and the bread was somewhat to the burned side and greasy. I ordered a side salad but the lettuce was old and turning yellowish red around the edges. I ate my food because I was hungry but I don’t think I would order food at this place again. If it wasn’t for my family, I would r even go there again. Service was very slow but the waitress was new and she apologized for being new and not familiar with everything.

Divey as expected maybe. Fun spot with a lot of space though. But not much night life around it. Kind of a townie Bart do not as fun for visitors unless you’re looking the that. Service wasn’t very warm but they did the job. Try the sticky toffee pudding. Delicious.

Happy Hour is theeeee best!!!!! Very reasonable prices on food as well as beer with a great selection. I found My bar in the San Jose area!! The bartenders are so nice. The Owner is very interpersonal with the customers, this is an amazing place to jus eat, drink a pint or two and watch sports. The regulars are so nice to. I was welcomed with open arms here. The food is AMAZING as well! SHOUT OUT TO THE KITCHEN STAFF!! SHOUTS OUT TO GABE BEHIND THE BAR AS WELL!!! I recommend this place to anyone near and far!!

Great place to watch NFL on sundays. Multiple screens so you can see the games no matter you sit. Staff and waitresses were friendly and matter sure we were OK. With Dj Brotha Reese playing music made it a party atmosphere.

Lots of TVs, good food, good service, my son ordered their house burger medium well with fries. It was cooked perfect and the fries were hot, crispy and lightly salted . I partook in the 34oz Lagunitas which was poured well and fantastically chilled.

The service here was terrible. I went there to watch the games and it was not crowded. My friend and I sat at the bar. The bartender was largely on his phone and very not attentive. It took a while to even order our first round of drinks. Several times he left the bar area completely and at one point was just hanging out talking to the servers with his back to the bar. He never asked if we wanted anything else when my friend and I were close to done our drinks. At the end, we were trying to leave and he was no where to be found to close our tab so I had to go ask several other people to close it. The nachos are great and I would highly recommend getting them. Save yourself the hassle and just get take out.

Levi’s season ticket holder and lifelong 49ers fan. Was looking for a local sports bar to watch the Niners vs Tampa Bay game last weekend. Rookies in downtown San Jose looked like a good option with all the TV’s and projection screens. I got lucky and found a parking spot in a loading zone, which was free on Sunday morning. I saw two people get let in a few minutes after 9am. I wandered in and was asked by the hostess whether I wanted to sit at the bar or a high top with bar stools. I chose a high top away from the brighter front half of the bar for tv and projection screen visibility. They did turn on the audio on the house speaker system to make it possible to follow the Niners game. Unfortunately, the projector bulbs are so burnt out that there is barely any light reaching the screens. Zero contrast. It’s a shame because the projectors look like an expensive high end Sony model. If the bulbs are replaced, they should look a ton better but who knows how long they’ve been like this and if they care enough to order and install new bulbs. The angle of the table and stools was perpendicular to the screens, so I had to turn at a hard angle to see the game. Once my bro-in-law arrived, we ordered some drinks and a massive platter of nachos with steak. It took the entirety of the game to consume about 2/3 of it. The flavor was pretty good with plenty of cheese, black beans, sour cream, guacamole, salsa and slices of jalapeños. I ordered an Irish Coffee that was pretty high on ABV. Later I ordered a Ballast Point Sculpin. Their beer selection was decent if not a bit conventional. Service was fine, a team of young waitresses were constantly circulating around the bar. It was pretty early to be drinking for a 10am East Coast away game. Interestingly, it seemed like there was a large amount of Pittsburgh Steelers fans there, and Steelers memorabilia on the wall. I was glad the Niners pulled out the win on a last second Jake Moody field goal, but I don’t know if I would return.

Went here while we were working in San Jose and it definitely was not what they make it seem like on the internet. The bartender had no personality or hospitality and was to busy talking to his regulars and other employees (that would come behind the bar and make their own drinks) to be a good server. I ordered a double and got a pint full of cranberry juice for $18. The appetizers we ordered (calamari & meatballs) we're not good and tasted frozen and the meatballs tasted microwaved. There were 4 of us we got the burger that did not come with cheese like asked for by my employee so when he asked he was given two slices of cold cheddar cheese on a cold plate to put on his $23 Juicy Lucy Burger, pulled pork sandwich (had a few slices of cabbage not coleslaw and not much flavor except cold and salty). I asked for crispy fries and got soggy fries, I asked him for crispy fries again and got your average cooked fries not crispy! The Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich was ordered with Cajun Fries, the sandwich didn't have much meat and the fries were like a spoon full of salt. When I gave him my card to pay he came back and asked me to review the receipt to make sure it was correct and disappeared. The best thing about this place was how many TV's they have besides that it was a 👎🏻. 2- double cocktails, 1- single cocktail, 2- sodas, 1- calamari appetizer, 1- meatball appetizer, 2- pulled pork sandwiches, 1- burger with cold cheese and overcooked and 1- philly cheese steak sandwich for $185! Applebee's would have been better and cheaper.

Located in the heart of Downtown San Jose, at the corner of bar-hop-central, there's a wide selection of beer plus a full bar. I found the scene too chill for my taste as solo lady looking to mingle... especially for a college football Saturday. On the plus side, it seemed appropriate for families during the day. The service staff is friendly but the food was too salty. I can't comment on the mix drinks. Just know there is no shortage of tvs which is mandatory for a decent sports bar.

Great selection of craft beers and foods! Acceptable price for beers and food in SJ downtown and area! Also this is a good place to watch the game and hanging out! BTY, I think they don’t have Happy Hours for now.

Nice outdoor seating area setup, plenty of parking around the area. Very friendly staff and owner. Took a bit of time to get my order but worth the wait. Grabbed the Gobble Up burger with tater tots. Burger infused and mixed with apricots and spices made it a delicious, juicy bite. Cooked well-done. Tater tots were nice and crisp, tightly packed to the brim in the box.

Came here for a pinball tournament. It's a very nice bar and has several separate areas where there also video games along the walls. The pinball machines are in the back area where the food pickup area is. I ordered a Maitai from the front bar and it was really nice. The pins are very nice too, and they are well maintained. Priced very well @.75/gm 3 for 2.00. I didn't order food, so I cannot comment, but it looked good.

Miniboss is one of our favorite date night spots in SJ! We first came in on a Saturday night around 9:30. It was decently full, but we didn’t have a problem ordering drinks or playing games. Staff are friendly, and we were served quickly. The cocktails and the games are a highlight for sure. We usually find ourselves back at Miniboss after a weekend dinner in San Pedro area. Certain nights - like Halloween weekend - can get very packed. Recommend parking in any of the structures around San Pedro Square area and walking over. Compared to some SF barcades I’ve been to, Miniboss is well organized, clean, and fun. We always have a blast playing games like Street Fighter, TMNT, and pinball. Sometimes you have to wait to play, but people are generally friendly and will let you take your turn shortly after them. All in all, one of our go-to spots!

The whole atmosphere of here is great, we went early on a Thursday to check it out. It wasn’t too busy when we got there but it quickly started filling up. The bartenders were great everyone was working fast but still very friendly. Drinks were good, I liked the uncommon blends they use to make unique cocktails.

Very fun and unique place. Great beers and a lot of video games and pinball machines. Enjoyed playing classics like donkey kong, ms pac man, and many others. Since we are older, perhaps we felt a little out of place since most of the customers were in their 20s, but really, who cares? We're still young at heart.

They have a wide range of American food (Burgers, garlic fries) and drinks (craft beers and cocktails). I love the arcade games free play Thrusdays. A lot of the top games I played as a kid and you can versus your friends or random people. I ordered the multi player because it takes more players to finish

Was a fun vibe, my friends and I took some people to town on a driving game in a 3v3 which made our night! Only got a drink there, it was a spur, but it was alright! Bar prices are high but thats normal. But the vibe everywhere was great and the place was packed!

I've been here twice now. The second time was on a Thursday where they have free games. You should come within happy hours on Thursdays and you'll get a really good deal. The drinks are decent and the food is pretty good, surprisingly. I liked their chicken wings. My husband liked the pepperoni flatbread. Service is great too! Definitely recommend as a place to hang out and have a drink.

Pretty nice place. Lovely vibe and ambience, has a lounge like feel with a nice bar area and some good cocktails which my colleagues really liked. Would definitely recommend a stop in here especially for a cozy drink. They have a pretty good happy hour for drinks. I was not otherwise impressed with the food, which was presented well, however the flatbread was salty and other items not memorable (had the warm nuts, deviled eggs and hummus). I think the highlights were the attentive staff and the alcoholic drinks. I would stop by again for sure!

The atmosphere at The Vesper is so great. It gives a bit of red velvet speakeasy vibe. It’s intimate but also quite stuffy and hot in there. The service is slow but friendly. The food tastes great. Loved the white bean dip and the cocktails are pricey but taste great!

Loved the ambiance. Upper level seating is very cozy. A potential place for girl gang hangouts. Not many vegetarian options for food, but in general the menu is very lean. Drink menu is very creative though. Will definitely go again.

Absolutely amazing service and delicious cocktails. I particularly enjoyed my mocktails that were absolutely divine. Ended up getting two of the same alcohol-less drinks — the Josie. Highly recommend! The service was excellent too.

This place is the best for a Friday night drink after work. The appetizers on happy hour were delicious! And they accommodated for gluten free. The best part were the drinks. I kept getting the city drink- the one topped with wine- and will be back for this again. Vesper is a great spot but expect crowds and loud acoustics. Not the place for an intimate dinner but better for a Friday night out.

Cocktails were decent. We had deviled eggs and prosciutto dates. Both were pretty bad. Eggs lacked flavor and dates just didn't work with the combination of the cheese and sauce. Overall, decent drinks, bad food.

I honestly don’t understand how anyone could leave a bad review here. This place has such a great atmosphere — it’s just impossible to say anything negative about it! The bar is very clean, the vibe is relaxed and welcoming, and the crowd is always interesting. A special thank you to the bartender Marcos— he’s incredibly friendly, attentive, and truly cares about his customers. Much appreciated!

Tony P's is a cool spot to go any time of day. I like to stop by for lunch and a beer or in the early evening after work. There's always a good crowd, I noticed they have their regulars when I do stop by. Overall, it's a decent bar with a delicious Taqueria adjoined inside. I always grab a bite when I'm there. You can't go wrong!

customer service here is horrible and unprofessional. this is clearly a spot for locals who are used to a bad environment. if you do decide to visit, keep your belongings close bc people will steal them and the bartender will not take a report or check security footage bc according to them “bars like this mean drunk rowdy people and its your choice to risk it.. too lazy to check footage.” followed by the bartender gossiping about you right in front of you. also been assaulted by regulars here. very low class place. there are sooo many other places in downtown that will top this spot in price, service, environment, and features. pool table is low quality and cues are barely functional. drinks are weak and overpriced. bartenders are always high/drunk so they will not be attentive. we witnessed so many people get away with paying (so we tipped to cover them bc we felt bad). overall bad and would go literally anywhere else.

Lively, crowded, plenty of tvs. Didn't try the food. Get there early! No place to park. Residential parking is restricted some by permit.

Really good place to take a break after work. super clean, I tried the cheese burger and it was gooooood. The bar tender Tiana super nice attentive to everyone and super positive attitude at work I'll come back to this please enyday of the week. Thank you.

Kitchen and bar are separate from each other although they share the same building facility. They are not affiliated otherwise. There's an outside seating area which makes it nice to get out away from all the noise if you choose . Lots of TVs for sports bar atmosphere. Pool table in separate room next to back door parking area. Ordered medium rare burger which came way over cooked at well done even after i specifically specified. That was very disappointing. Burger was still great with quality bacon and fries were awesome. Price however at $17 I expected better attention to be paid to my food. It wasn't a $9 burger so obviously i expected better. Service however was good and servers friendly so another chance is in order. There's no happy hour so be prepared that there's no specials. Prices are a little on the high side but still within reason compared to many competitors. As far as bar goes they were very busy but yet still friendly. Overall a decent place to hang out.

This is probably the only place I go to in the South Bay area, to have natural wine and literally a 'good time'. I only drink natural wine, and it's difficult to find a decent natural wine place in the area. Always a great selection of bubble, white, rose, orange and red, and the food they have just amazingly pairs well with the wine. They had steak tartar when I stopped by most recently, and wow, it was just amazing. Not pretentious, but seriously good tartar with some nori and shiso toppings on. Love this place.

Loved this place. So good, beautiful wine selection and the food is so delicious. I pigged out and got 6 plates of food + crème brûlée which was 10/10 btw. Super chill vibes sitting outside enjoying a glass of wine watching the sunset. Only thing that would’ve made it better would’ve been a cheeky cigarette after.

What a perfect name for this spot because you will for sure have a good time at Goodtime Bar. Stopped by here with a friend a couple weeks ago for an early dinner and I had a fantastic time. The drinks were delicious and reasonably priced, and the food was even better! I grabbed a glass of white wine (delish!) and the yuzu spritz. The spritz was fantastic! I feel like this would be perfect on a spring or summer evening with a few plates. We grabbed the chips and dip, deviled eggs, prawns, and fingerling potatoes. I dined here solo on a work trip. I went because the menu looked so unique. The place did not disappoint and exceeded all expectations! The staff is super friendly and passionate about the food and wine. I ate so many of the best bites of my life- tinned fish! Who knew?? I can’t wait to come back!

I loved how easy it was for us to describe a craving and have him sweep us off our feet. We arrived right at 4pm after work and didn't have to wait for a table. It got way busier around 7pm when we left, so plan accordingly. I did enjoy sitting outside with the lighting and music. DISHES: 🌟 Arancini — I was skeptical about kimchi + arancini ... trust! They were so full of flavor and the sauce was insane. 🌟 Bluefin Tuna Tostada — smaller portion but still enjoyable, the tuna was very fresh. 🌟 Burrata and Figs — brown. butter. enough said. 🌟 Fingerling Potatoes — seaweed mayo on the bottom was unreal, we almost wanted another piece of bread to soak this all up. 🌟 Mushroom — I was getting full by this point but the tomato sauce on the bottom was to dieee for! 💵 PRICE: Considering the high quality this was a steal. We walked out at $46/pp (incl. tax+tip) for a group of 4 with 2 rounds of drinks + 5 dishes. I will absolutely bring more friends to discover Goodtime in the near future.

Creative yet extremely tasty food. With very friendly but not overbearing service. Hard to judge the nighttime atmosphere as I was there during the day, but I did enjoy the music.

Menu is constantly changing with seasonal items so the one posted is from 9/7/25. Ming was our server and he recommended all the hits and great wine pairings. Everything was delicious and can’t wait to go back. Nott pictured is the creme brûlée since that we were given to help celebrate our anniversary.

A nice little spot in downtown San Jose. We had a few starters, pizzas and drinks. The best and most impressive was the pizzas. We ordered the five-spice duck pizza and the pork banh mi one, which were very creative and of great fusion taste. Beers and cocktails were also good while the cocktails were a little bit overpriced in general. Overall a good experience!

I really wanted to come here for the Banh Mi pizza and it was good timing as there was a game on so the BF got to watch the game. Me – Food, Him – Game = win-win. We got the pizza and it was pretty good. The flavors were good and I liked how it was more like a flatbread. We also go the kimcheese fries which were good as well. With those two items, we were pretty satisfied. Since we stayed long to watch the game, we ordered a couple of drinks to justify taking up our seats for so long. We got the mugi mule and the lychee martini, which were pretty good, but definitely pricey for what it was. I don’t know if it was just that day, but there was only one girl serving the whole place, until a second one came to help her out at least an hour later. Because of that, the service was kind of slow, but she was a really good waitress. Overall, they have good Asian Fusion bar food and drinks and a chill place to watch a game. Make a reservation though as they don’t have a lot of seating.

Drinks were pretty good. Chicken wings and fries have great flavor. Highly recommend. Wish the happy hour was a bit more extensive. Only a few signature drinks and starters are included on happy hour prices.

Very attentive hostess, nice interior, music at a reasonable volume, not too crowded or empty. Hostess Lena kept coming back just in time to refill our glasses from the bottle of soju being shared at my table. (The mere fact that Nomikai carries soju is a point in its favor.) These are the good things! The not so good: they were out of the soju we wanted (there were only two varieties available). They were out of the duck far popcorn. And the "seven spice nori fries" were dry, kinda stale, and generally boring. (McDonald's fries are way better and far cheaper!) So... skip the fries... and don't count on anything you order actually being available! That said, the spam musubi was delicious, and Lena is definitely a credit to the establishment. I would probably go again... but it's not my new go-to spot ;)

Interesting Asian fusion place with food and drinks. Place really tries to be hip and clubby while the food is above average. Proposes interesting dishes like kimchi pizza and ends up perfecting nothing.

I've been here a couple of times. The live music scene on Friday's is fantastic and you probably can just walk in without having to make a reservation. It's slightly tricky to locate this one since it's located within the hotel. Great drinks and service along with ample seating for larger groups.

I attended a happy hour here with a group. I was very pleased with the service of the bartenders and waitstaff; Great energy and service. Their outdoor patio is completely covered nice eating warm fire feature. Nice snacks on the happy hour food menu 4 to 7 PM weekdays.

Neat space, but largely falls flat. The bartenders were chaotic and not good - I ended up pouring my own beer that I waited for forever. They and the waitstaff gave the impression of just not caring. Bar selection was weak. It's worth walking a couple of blocks away from this place to experience far, far better places that San Jose has on offer.

Beautiful old bar - very classy. Acoustics are poor though if you are there for the jazz. Conversation is impossible when the band is playing. Wine selection is reasonable, and service was good.

I have to say, I grew to LOVE Hedley Lounge! The vibe is different with a live jazz band, much of an older crowd, but their kick-back and cool, service is top-notch, and the happy hour? Yep, something you gotta try! Drink menu offers high-class spirits and a great selection of wines. Food is to drool over....LOVE the thin crust pizza for $8!! Come early to get better seating, because it does get crowded during the weekends! Just exactly how I remembered it the first time I came here, interior is gorgeous with high ceilings, low-lighting chandelier, and the rustic villa theme going on...perfect for an evening in SJ. Arrived around 5 PM on Thursday. Was the second customer sitting at the bar. Took 10 minutes for one of the two bartenders to acknowledge me. In the meanwhile, they: tried and failed to hang some sort of vintage, framed liquor advertisement; stood with their backs to the bar and texted on their phones; stared blankly into space. The cocktail I eventually was able to order was tasty, but there was no way I was going to stick around with that sort of service.

Fantastic Evening at The Fountainhead I recently visited The Fountainhead, and it was an outstanding experience. The ambiance is a perfect mix of modern and cozy, with great lighting and music. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. The drink menu is impressive, with a wide selection of cocktails and wines. Both drinks were very delightful! Overall, The Fountainhead is a fantastic spot for a night out. Excellent service, great drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere make it a must-visit. Highly recommend!

We had a fantastic time for a friend's birthday! The drinks at the bar were awesome - we all loved our cocktails, and the atmosphere was great. There was even live music that night! We'll definitely go back; it's a great spot to meet up with friends, and there are lots of food options in the same locale.

We went to Fountainhead on Saturday night and had a great time! Live music, mixed drinks (great tamarind margarita - that might have been a special for that night but lots of other interesting options) and interesting wine options. We grabbed food from a couple of the other outlets (vietnoms and japacurry) which was tasty. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Great time!

Depending on where you get, the food selections are excellent. Beer selection is OK but pricing is a bit steep. The Pilsner glasses that they use run a bit on the small side.

Great little hidden bar at the back of SoFA Market surrounded by excellent eateries to avoid too much consumption of alcohol on an empty stomach! The bartenders are experienced to serve you house drinks and cocktails in a loud, lively atmosphere with plenty of seating in a communal setting. The bar and eateries complement each other, so if you are meeting with friends for a quick drink and like a great variety of food choices, SoFA is the place to be.

What a lovely and kind addition 7-Bamboo is to our city. So. Much. Fun. Karaoke was fire, and the bartenders and security were welcoming and on point. Plus, where else (not even on YouTube) are are going to see a live performance by a Boomer first-generation immigrant absolutely slay Whole Lotta Love AND get high-fived all the way back to his seat, all for the price and pleasure of a couple of well-made drinks? I could venture a guess our crooner was from Vietnam, where so many of us San Joséans originate, but in whatever land he was born, I suspect Robert Plant wished he could bathe in its waters. Yep. It's a joyful place, full of pleasant surprises.

Fun filled environment … thoroughly enjoyed our evening…. Highly recommended for Groups and couples… the energy in the atmosphere was thrilling

I almost never write reviews so a place has to really make an impression on me before I feel the need to tell other people about it. 7 Bamboo was recommended to me via Reddit, my friend had heard of it, and as a long-time karaoke aficionado, I was excited to check it out. Unfortunately, I cannot honestly say that I am willing to pass on that recommendation. The service was quick and professional, drinks were priced reasonably, and security was courteous, but anyone planning to visit for the the primary attraction of karaoke should know the following: First, you need to download an app to sign up for songs, so anyone who has a low phone battery or is short on memory will be at a disadvantage. Second, the app instructs you to sign up with your real name. There is no 'nickname' function, so if you follow those directions, everyone else using the app will be able to see your full name, surname included, on the list of upcoming singers. Even if you change your profile name afterwards, it will not retroactively update the roster once you have signed up for a song. Personally, I don't like giving out my legal identity to a room full of complete strangers, so if you're of a similar mind, be warned. Third, don't expect to find all the songs you're familiar with from other karaoke bars; the app's selection is weirdly lacking in some ways and overabundant in others. I couldn't find stock standards like Johnny Cash's 'God's Gonna Cut You Down' and Sam Cooke's 'A Change is Gonna Come', but sometimes I'd search for a song and five different versions of the same track would come up. Sounds great to have options, but the app had no clear way to differentiate between 'this one has backing vocals' or 'this is the version made by [x] karaoke company', etc. Just really confusing UI overall. Fourth and most disappointingly, the singer line-up here doesn't necessarily go in chronological order, so don't show up planning to sing more than one song per visit unless you have no issue staying out late. Apparently, the order is determined by whether or not you have sung already. This means that when I signed up for my first song, I only had to wait for everyone else in front of me to take their turn, as expected. But when I was called up to sing my second song - despite having waited around 45 minutes already - I was told I had been bumped to the end of the line because new people had signed up. 'Ok,' I think to myself, 'it's nearly 10pm, weeknight, but I can stay out a little late, how long of a wait are we talking? Six, seven people?' Try *seventeen*. That is a full studio album with bonus tracks. Including the time I had already waited, this means I would have been waiting for a total of something like two hours for a second song, with no guarantee that more new people wouldn't have shown up and pre-empted the opportunity even further. That is no exaggeration - another review floating around out there from one customer says their second song took three hours to get to. Maybe this system makes sense on Friday or Saturday when the crowds are bigger and people don't have work in the mornings, but it felt pretty crappy to have waited all that time only to be told, 'first come, first served doesn't apply here, and in fact the amount of time you're expected to wait has doubled'. If a line at a theme park worked like this, people would be livid. It very much comes across as a business tactic to keep customers in the bar/spending money for longer than they would ordinarily stay. So to anyone else considering checking it out: have one drink, sing one song. Do not stick around, running up your tab, expecting a second. Fifth, if you are with friends, avoid the corner seating directly under the screen/speakers - the volume is cranked up to the point that you will hurt both your ears and your throat if conversation is attempted.

Could be better; If they cook asian food on site or partnered with local food vendors or trucks to offer more varieties of food. If they made the karaoke more fair and allow everyone a chance to sing at least once.

Everything was delicious. All the staff were highly professional. The oysters were devoured. The desserts were very tasty. The steaks were incredible. They even brought out some Brussels even though they were not on the menu.

The steaks were good. Only thing was the temperature on the steaks were swapped between me any my guest. The dry aged steak had a great flavor but not overpowering. The cocktails were good.

Went here on a Monday. Was looking for a steak and usual places were closed. My date had the steak and i had the prawns risotto. I got three prawns, one had no meat. My date had the steak, over cooked a bit. Drinks were good. Service was good. A bit over priced for the quality of the food. Probably won't be going back.

For such a higher end place was very disappointing. Sat at bar for cocktails and appetizers. Wife tried to order two different glasses of wine from menu which they didn’t have but they had the third. Ordered baked bre which comes with only a forks to share. No crackers or crustini. Asked the bar tender and he look at us like sorry no. I explained that I’ve never ordered baked bre where you only get to share it with only a forks. So crazy! At least I know now not to come back. Wow!! Plus this place is expensive.

Our experience at The Grill on the Halley was memorable from start to finish. Once inside the restaurant, the atmosphere remained warm and inviting, with attentive service enhancing our dining experience. The menu boasts an array of enticing dishes, highlighting high-quality ingredients. We started with a Beef Carpaccio. While it was presented beautifully and tasted exquisite, the portion seemed rather small for sharing. For those with a hearty appetite, ordering an additional appetizer might be wise. The Caesar Salad was more appropriately sized for sharing and featured crisp, fresh ingredients with a delightful dressing. It was a great precursor to the main courses. For our entrees, we had the Filet Mignon and the New York steak. Both steaks were cooked to perfection, tender and bursting with flavor. The Filet Mignon, in particular, was a standout, offering a melt-in-your-mouth experience that truly highlighted the quality of the beef. Overall, The Grill on the Halley offers a top-notch dining experience with a well-curated menu and an elegant yet comfortable atmosphere. It's a great spot for enjoying a fine meal with family and friends. Probably the best wine list in San Jose Downtown, featuring a remarkable selection of notable wines. Although the prices can be quite steep, you can still enjoy a variety of exquisite wines without breaking the bank. For a more affordable experience, consider choosing wines by the glass to savor the variety and quality.

Very rarely do I give a full 5 Star rating. This Resto impressed our party of three. Everything about our dining experience was fantastic. Paul, our server, went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and taken care of throughout the meal. He was a wealth of knowledge with a great sense of humor. The other staff was so helpful and professional as well. Our food was delicious to the last bite and very well presented. We started with fresh baked warm bread and butter and some crispy Calamari. For our Entrées we enjoyed the Nordic Halibut with Brussel Sprouts, Australian Lamb Chops with Lobster Mac-n-Cheese and a perfectly cooked medium rare 8oz. Flat Iron Steak with Miso Glazed Asparagus. Followed by a spongy yet delectable Japanese Cheesecake that was first released to us that night. Also we devoured a scrumptious Blood Orange Bread Pudding. We all agreed that we should have ordered two of those! I treated myself to a Highland Park 12 Scotch served neat that complimented my meal perfectly.

The Grill - review This is a great alternative to Flemings. You’ll love it here if they are fully staffed. The food is really good and the ambiance is great. You can also sit outdoors for a sunny meal with a breeze. This is an anniversary dinner type of place. It’s a place where you have an important meeting. Lots of lawyers hang out here. The prices are such to attract a certain crowd. If you’re looking for exclusivity, it’s your place. Drinks are very strong. Highly recommend the old fashioned Bread is hard and butter is not softened. Ordered lobster bisque but not much lobster in it, not even one small tail of lobster. It is very tasty and rich. It’s delicious. Crab cake looks awful but tastes amazing. Very poor and lazy plating. No pride was taken in the presentation. Pinot Grigio tastes delicious. Parking - little to none Time to be acknowledged immediately Time to be seated - 5 min , very understaffed One group of four gentlemen sat down and then actually left before even getting service because there’s only the bartender helping out everyone in the bar area. Currently 7 customers. They would have made 11. Clearly this place is popular or maybe that it was a Sunday that we picked for dinner. It’s a pretty big restaurant and my best guess can easily seat about 100 plus when full. It’s got a fully stacked bar and they are famous for the beer shots (rather beer in small glasses. The one we sampled was 6 different types of beer served up front in a single tray. You better reserve a table eye it’s going to be a long wait. The staff is friendly and the service is great. But somehow I came away not exactly over the moon - or maybe what I ordered isn’t the taste that I am used to. The only thing I remember that tasted great was the spicy edamame that paired perfectly with the beer. The jambalaya was quite the disappointment- I’ve had much better. Clearly they are popular but at least for me it was like I’ve has much better food for that price. But then this is my review and you should make up your own mind about the place…

The beer selection was amazing! The Kona Big Wave and House Belgian White were awesome. The vodka penne was a bit dry, so asked for extra vodka sauce to put on it. Wings were really good. Wisconsin cheese curds were amazing and as good as I had them in Wisconsin. Service was slightly slow but it was super busy, so totally understandable.

A few of us came here on a Sunday evening. It was packed! Really fun and loud ambiance, high energy, family friendly, great food. Not really a place for a quote romantic dinner, but good for any other occasion, especially a casual group get together.

This was my third visit to Yard House, and the consistent excellence is what keeps me coming back. Just like the previous times, the service was outstanding—fast, friendly, and genuinely attentive. The staff clearly knows their stuff, making the entire experience smooth and enjoyable. The beer selection is simply unparalleled; their extensive menu of brews offers something for every palate, and the quality is top-notch. As for the food, it was delicious and perfectly prepared, proving that Yard House is more than just a great beer spot. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

We had dinner here last night since it was open late night and the wait wasn’t as long as it usually is. I’ve come here quite a few times and it never disappoints. The food was fantastic. Crispy delicious calamari. I had a steak protein bowl that was to die for my steak was so tender and delicious along with all the vegetables and flavors that came with it.. my son had the fish and chips and my fiancé had the pizza. All of it was so amazing. We were celebrating an occasion and they brought us a celebratory dessert. Food came out quick. Prices are reasonable for how delicious the food is. I just can’t say enough good things about this place. I have never once had a bad meal here. I will definitely be returning many many times. Just love the food and atmosphere here. Kudos to the chefs.!! A must try!

Great beer selections and features seasonal craft beers from different breweries in the country! We come here often for their wide beer selections, tasty appetizers & happy hour. Drinks & some food on the menu are reasonably discounted during the happy hour. Food servers are friendly, make great beer suggestions & attentive.

This Santana restaurant was a treat for me and my boyfriend to go to. It’s a bit pricey, but it’s very good. We must’ve got there at the right time because they sat us in a corner booth table with a beautiful view of the whole restaurant and outside the drinks were great the appetizers we have the artichoke cheese dip. I had the whiskey glaze salmon. He had the teriyaki ribeye. It was phenomenal. I wish we could afford to go here more

Cozy spot, but be mindful of the noise! It’s a small and cozy place with both indoor and outdoor seating. Since it was raining, my friend and I chose to sit indoors. Initially, it was perfect — quiet and relaxing. A couple of tables were occupied by two people, and everything seemed peaceful. Then four guys walked in, and it completely changed the atmosphere. It got incredibly loud to the point where I couldn’t even hear myself talk. I had to raise my voice so my friend could hear me, which definitely ruined the cozy vibe we were hoping for. Tip: If you choose to sit inside, make sure the space isn’t filled with loud groups. Other than that, the food was good, the wine was delicious, and the servers were very friendly and polite. Worth a visit, just be mindful of the noise level! 🍷

For a while, the staff was not that great but they’ve got a lot of new people that has been coming back. It’s not a place how ago solely to eat but the food that they do offer a simple and it’s very enjoyable. They have a good selection of wine and beer. They don’t have spirits at the bar anymore One of the owners is insistent on playing loud EDM music all day long even on quiet Saturday and Sunday afternoon. For me this really ruins the atmosphere sometimes. If you’re going with other people and you’re gonna have fairly loud conversations is fine. But if you’re trying to have a normal volume conversation, one on one with someone, or just to enjoy a drink by yourself or God forbid read it’s not really practical. The music is obnoxious. There’s already lots of ambient noise, such as a fountain that is in the seating area, car noise, music from nearby venues, and just other ambient noise. I would spend a lot more time there if it wasn’t for the music.

The wine was lovely and the atmosphere was energetic but the service was surprisingly abhorrent. They completely neglected our table. I had to ask four times for water for our table and was told by the staff in an irritated tone to wait. I even brought my water cups to the front to just get some water and they told me to sit down. They neglected our table for some reason and we had to usually wave someone down just to get another order. We sat there for 2+ hours and we had to search the area for anyone to give us our check. Even after we paid it took the staff a long time to return to us. When we arrived it wasn’t that busy so I didn’t understand why the staff was taking so long. It seemed a bit disorganized. Additionally the staff seemed stressed/irritated. It may have been an off night for them, but unfortunately I will not be returning given my experience.

Enjoyed their wine flights; Rose & Red. They carry California wines and major European countries wine. Not a huge menu tho. They also have a store if you wanna buy bottles - just around the corner. We sat outside patio and their standing heaters kept us warm throughout. Atmosphere wise, it was so pretty with the Christmas lights and decorations. This place is good for hanging out and small gathering, recommend!

Such a lovely spot during the day or evening. Staff was very attentive and passionate. Fantastic wine selection. I had the Vintage flight and the chicken tarragon sandwich with chips for lunch. Highly suggest if you are new to wine and curious.

Went here last weekend for some pre-dinner drinks and left after no one bothered to take our orders. We were seated outside and could see the staff chatting inside while we waited for over 20 mins for someone to attend to us. After a few more people came in, a lady shows up and starts taking orders from the tables around us and goes back inside ignoring us even though she noticed that we hadn’t ordered anything. We didn’t want to waste more time and any money here so just walked out. Do yourself and your wallet a favor and skip this place.

It was not an easy decision for me to leave a negative review, but I would be more than happy to revisit it if I receive a thoughtful response from the restaurant. My intention is simply to share my honest experience in the hope of helping this restaurant improve, and nothing more. I enjoyed the food and the atmosphere, and I would like to feel safe and welcome when I bring my friends here, no matter what skin colors they are. Everyone deserves to be treated with the same respect and attention. I’ve lived in the U.S. for over a decade, and I honestly never expected that dining out would one day come with the worry of being treated differently. Unfortunately, our experience with the service left us feeling uncomfortable. To start, the front desk initially didn’t want to seat us outdoors, despite plenty of available tables. Right after she seated the group ahead of us (a white couple), I pointed out, “there are plenty of tables outside,” which made her feel awkward and eventually led her to seat us outdoors. Secondly, our waitress did not greet us at all throughout the entire meal. She only appeared to take our order, without any greeting or eye contact. She didn’t bother to refill our water or check in on us, while she spent time small-talking and joking with other tables. I didn’t even have a chance to tell her that my husband’s dish was cold. At the end, we tried to get her attention several times to ask for the check—my husband spoke to her directly, and I made eye contact twice—but we were consistently overlooked as she attended to other tables. Eventually, I decided to speak with the manager. The manager was generous—she comped our bill and offered us dessert, which we truly appreciated. I could tell she wanted to make things right, and I’m grateful for her efforts. However, the interaction felt rushed, and she didn’t seem to speak with our server at all about our feedback. When she came to our table, she didn’t ask my husband for his feedback, which only added to our lingering feeling of being unintentionally dismissed. I’m not sharing this to complain or seek anything more—we’ve already received compensation. I’m leaving this review in the hope that the restaurant will reflect on how it treats all guests, and especially how moments of discomfort can leave a lasting impression. As I mentioned earlier, I would like to feel safe and welcome when I bring my friends here in the future, no matter what skin colors they are. I look forward to hearing a response from the restaurant.

Great location and atmosphere. Pretty cool patio. The service was great - our server, Erica, was awesome. We had the special strawberry salad, the special black cod and John’s Bolognese. The strawberry salad was nice and refreshing. Unfortunately, the black cod and the bolognese were both under seasoned, which was a bummer.

We had a nice meal here but nothing stood out to us unfortunately. Maybe my expectations were too high? The melon and prosciutto was a miss since the melon was cut way too big and wasn’t ripe enough. Roasted carrots and scallops were good. Lamb meatballs were fine. I enjoyed the cocktails and the staff was very friendly and attentive.

We've eaten here a few times and we love it. This review is for their take out. We ordered corn beef hash and what we got was pitiful. Barely any food and the meat was raw. $28 for this.

The food looked good, but was a little bland. It was prepared ok, and for the prices I would have expected more flavor. The coffee was delicious; robust and smooth. The crab cake Benedict had a lot of veggies and the eggs were the 63 degree eggs. The 63 degree egg whites were not fully cooked. The crab cake was moist and tasty. The hash browns were golden and crispy but not over done in oil. They were prepared beautifully. My husband had the corned beef hash, and he was not impressed. The eggs were to be done over hard and still had a runny yoke. The potatoes were done very well and the corned beef was bland. We had Bloody Mary’s, and they were spicy and yummy with all of the veggie garnishes. The beignets were surgery and warm. Great comfort food. The helping size was plenty and the service from Maria was great. The atmosphere is delightful.

Modern American foods restaurant. Foods and services were excellent. I would give this place 5 stars if the Bone marrow we ordered would have had more bone marrow in it. We got two piece of bone, one with bone marrow (not much though) and one with only bone. They should have a better quality control of this. Other foods were fine as per photo.

4.2 stars Came here in Saturday morning with no wait time. Their signature dish is duck liver mousse and we loved it so definitely try it out. I ordered eggs Benedict but nothing really fancy. Would also recommend their hash brown. Really crispy and delicious.

Let me start by saying I’m not personally vegan but I would ABSOLUTELY come back here because the food was that great & I couldn’t even tell it was vegan! I got the 1 item plate with Jamaican Jerk with brown rice (pictured) & my friend got the Pulled “Pork” street tacos which were also spectacular. We also ordered a couple desserts, Mom’s Apple crisp & the Baklava, which was also super delicious! They also have a wide beer selection! I have to point out how rad & laid back the atmosphere is; all the art & vinyl records makes this place truly one of a kind! We went on a Saturday night & they had a live jazz band playing which made it even more special. If you’re vegan or not, you have to check this place out!

If you’re vegan you’ll be in heaven! Everything is vegan. The “chicken “ drumstick is delicious hands down my favorite item. The jerk “chicken “ and rice was pretty good the flavor of the rice was kind of bland. The jackfruit tacos were street sized tacos. It was hot inside so we eat outside which has a nice little setting. Yes I’d return the waitress was really nice and friendly ready to talk.

The staff is great, the vinyls are always on point, the ambiance is super chill and relaxing, and the FOOD is incredible!! I'm so lucky I work so close to the best vegan place around downtown San Jose

My wife and I visited this vegan restaurant last Sunday afternoon, and we had a great experience. The streets were quiet, which made the outdoor seating even more enjoyable—peaceful and calm, just what we needed. The food was delicious with fresh flavors, and I especially loved their cider beer—crisp, refreshing, and full of excellent taste. It really stood out! Overall, a lovely place to unwind and enjoy a good plant-based meal. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that there’s still a little room to elevate the experience even further. But we’ll definitely be back!

Good Karma is the best of both words: Tasty craft beer and vegan food. The Fork and Knife nachos, baklava served hot, a great selection of beers on tap and in the can. Super nice people working to make sure everything is great. Went twice while in San Jose. I highly recommend this spot.

Wait what? I’ve been here a bunch of times and haven’t reviewed them? Shame on me! The best thing about The Brit is it’s a sports bar. Done! Sharks, Warriors, 49ers…! Inside gets packed and is probably the most love part, but the outdoor under cover seating in the back also rocks. Again, big tvs and decent sound. Built in heaters up above are strong enough to keep you warm. Nachos, quesadillas, and burgers are all good. Fries and tots too. I like Guinness and they have it so I’m happy. But I think they have the full bar as well. Parking is close by. Service is a little shady; not sure if it’s because they don’t have enough staff or what but it works; just flag ‘em down. Line coming for games after work. It can be monstrously busy and tough to find parking when there’s a Sharks game at the Tank.

As will be clear from all of my previous reviews, I usually only bother to write them, if I have had a positive experience. However on this occasion, I feel the need to highlight how poor the customer service we received was. We have recently moved to the area and decided to visit this pub because they had an offer on, which was $5 fish tacos, stating that in this location, the Brit, they were sold in sets of 3. When we went to pay, we queried the deal as the total price was not what we had expected. Our understanding was that, as per picture, it does not state anywhere that there is a minimum purchase of 3, but that in these 2 locations, the tacos are served in sets of 3. This is when we were introduced to the ‘manager’ Ken, who was quite frankly, rude, confrontational and the worst person we have met who works in hospitality for a long time. We queried the bill and were met with an aggressive and threatening response, for simply asking a question. Ken then decided to make the situation quite hostile (unnecessarily, we were not saying we wouldn’t pay, we were simply explaining the offer was not clear) telling us we had to settle the bill and that he did not care about the offer. He kept offering the owners card and told us to bring it up with him as it wasn’t his problem but that we would not be leaving without paying out our bill (which once again, we had never suggested, we were just starting that the offer was not clear!) Would never go back and would not recommend, not worth the agg!!!

Became my ‘local’ whilst on biz in SJC. Really friendly bar staff and serving staff who chat if it’s not busy. Plenty of TVs to view sports including EPL. Recommend the Sausages and Mash with a good onion gravy.

First time. Came to watch UFC. I had a fantastic time. The food, service and drink specials are very fair and worth it. Maria was our Server, while she trained a new Server. Give Maria a raise!!

The Bartender/Manager Levi is the best. I've been to most of all the bars in downtown San Jose and the Brit is by far the best here. Levi has a great handle on reading the room,table control, and excellent customer service. He knew when to ask if we needed anything or if there was anything he could help with. It was a busy Friday night with a full bar and unruly customers but him and his staff were in sync.

Walked in and sat at the bar for about five minutes while the male bartender with the long hair talked to his buddy . He finally walked over to me, but just to grab a bottle of water out of the cooler that was right in front of me for him self and then walked to the back without taking my order. I ended up leaving no drink in hand. It was fairly frustrating because I came across town to go to this bar because I heard it was really cool.

Great place downtown to watch pro games like San Francisco Giants San Francisco 49ers and Golden State Warrior's. Sharks not so much never won anything! Close to other places to see live music

Not recommended. The patio is great and the cocktails were good. However, for $68/person total for a starter, main and cocktail I expected way better. The mahi mahi was dry and tasteless and the Korean BBQ (recommended by the server) tasted much like the one served in Stanford cafeterias for ~$12, not ~$30. The restrooms were clean but reminded me of high school rather than an expensive restaurant. Very disappointed as I had high expectations. Attire smart casual at most. Not recommended for a date.

Large Victorian house w both indoor and outdoor seating, for both eating and just drinks or appetizers. I love the outside seating: Pleasant and soothing atmosphere, vacation-like, with music playing in the background and people and cars passing by. Bread and butter good. unlimited soda refills. Good-portioned Chilean sea bass $44 was very good; the udon noodles were good in the base, but the vegetables were somewhat overcooked. The seafood linguine was very good and was good sized portion, and had fish, prawns, small scallops in a pink sauce that had a touch of spiciness.

Great food, wonderful service in a beautiful setting! We all ordered the tuna poke bowls. They all looked identical! The dish presentation was perfect. I asked the waitress where the fish comes from, she said its shipped from Hawaii! I'm an avid fisher, and this is as fresh as it gets! Hats off to the chef! You are doing an amazing job! Our waitress-Emily was really nice and helpful. We will be coming back here for our anniversary :)

Beautiful place with totally awesome seafood!!! We have always loved visiting this restaurant. We recently went again after the COVID restrictions and were pleasantly surprised to see the arrangements and the set up. The outside looked beautiful with lights and tables placed out spaciously. They sanitized the area well and the staff were in mask and gloves. The food of course was awesome. Relished the scallops and the salmon and devoured the molten lava cake. A gorgeous location in Los Gatos to spend a beautiful evening.

Other than the longer than usual wait for the food to arrive, it was really tasty. We ordered a variety of dishes and they were all good. I've posted some pictures to get your salivary glands flowing.

Good Asian food they also have live music once in a while. Today we went to a friend's birthday party. They have 3 bands playing fr 3pm to 9pm and fire dancing.

I took my family here for the wife's birthday and had a impressive night. We dined outside in front of The Palms shaded patio area. Our waitress was Julie, she was wonderful. She was pleasant and attentive.Our food was flavorful and delectable. Would definitely be returning.

Interesting restaurant, we had dinner here during a Monday and almost ordered the entire menu, food was fresh and we liked most of it, like most of the US though most of it is fried / deep fried with not many options for people on a diet. I really recommend the Aranchini and the salads, the Steak took some time to get to our table and was OK, a bit too overcooked for my taste. Pricing was high and if you're not from the US you'll be surprised the the extras, we had a large group fee 20% added to our bill as we were a group of 6, there was a normal tax added and another San Jose 6% tax on top, all of this was before adding the Tip. Last call for food order was 20:00 which was early I guess. See photos for all the meal options

The food and drinks were good, with plenty of vegetarian options to choose from. The ambiance was fantastic—warm and inviting without being overly crowded during our visit. However, I’m taking away one star because our server didn’t inform us when the kitchen closed. We were looking forward to dessert, only to find out it was no longer available when we tried to order. A small detail, but it would’ve made the experience that much better.

Nice large outdoor dining area. We came by for a light dinner after going to a show in the area. Lots of great options. We ended up getting deviled eggs, whipped burrata, and elote corn. Everything tasted great and service was good! Will definitely come back to check out the other options we didn't get to try.

The ordering service was OK at first, but then there was no service at all, even no one refilled the water. The food was nice, but the portions were small, suitable as a drink companion rather than a main course.

We stopped by during their Dine Downtown promo.. I tried the Elote (fried street corn), Caesar salad, and lemon risotto all flavorful and satisfying. My friend went with a classic burger. For cocktails we had the Detox which was refreshing. Overall, the food was good and the vibe was relaxed.

Stopped by for drinks on a Friday evening. 2 of us had: saturn $16 fieldwork hazy train $10 6% mandate We sat a the bar. Relatively empty. Didn't have any food. Drinks were fine. Nice ambiance. Park in one of the garages that allow for free 2 hours, or just find street parking.

District is a pretty solid spot to grab a bite (especially later at night). The deviled eggs were absolutely incredible right off the bat, and the rest of the food was also quite good. The restaurant itself was nice and spacious, with plenty of seating. It wasn’t overly loud either. My one complaint was the service… it wasn’t like anyone was rude to us or anything. The issue was more that everything took ages. Even stuff as simple as getting refills on water. That said, the staff was all friendly and the food was good. I’d absolutely come back.

We showed up without reservation and were seated at the lowtop bar.. not the best seat in the house, but we didn't plan, so that's on us. The drinks are AMAZING!!! Perfect balance, beautiful, delicious!!! Yummmm! The menu is limited but we enjoyed the couple of things we tried. I'll be back to try more of the drink menu 😋

Casual but super nice! Love this place, we will be back. Drinks were priced very well. The tomato and burrata with apricot jam was exquisite. If you like a little spice, and a fruity refreshing spritzer get the Song and Dance.

Food was great as always. We came for Halloween. I definitely prefer their Christmas cocktails or normal ones as they are just better. We got handed these plates for the food and the dish underneath was dirty. We pointed it out to one of the busboys and he said “oh that’s not good.” And it was never acknowledged again. Not even a sorry. Expected better from Soda Works. See you at Christmas.

Great tasting and beautiful looking drinks/cocktails here. They have a very minimal selection of small plates to share but a wide variety of cocktails to choose from. Each of their cocktails has an artistic & aesthetic twist to it. Cocktails are nice, but gave 4-star because of their limited choices for vegetarian small plates. Will definitely go back to this place with friends to enjoy drinks. Both indoor & outdoor seating is there. Reservations are required on weekends.

Fun place, went on Halloween. Very festive. Service was good, thanks Emily. I had beef dip, as well as lobster roll and appetizers. The cocktails were delicious and fun. I had wine off their list and it was good. Be sure to get reservations.

Visit at least once during any festival times. The decorations for each season is amazing Specially Halloween theme decorations are very nice.

They offer a really good soccer class for almost all ages of kids. Great facilities and teaching staff. The only thing I don't like is the game arcade next to the entrance. Kids are so easily distracted by it when walking by.

Fun place for an afternoon as they have so many different options for things to do. My friends and I played bocce ball and soccer. The arcade games are also really fun to run around for a few hours. Highly recommend for a birthday party as the staff was incredibly helpful and the place was clean!

Nice sports complex with a good range of activities. This review is only for the food shop, since I couldn’t find a separate page for them. I don’t recommend ordering food here. The staff were rude and unwelcoming. The lady at the counter seemed frustrated even when we just asked a simple question. The fries we got were burnt, and the sandwiches were way too greasy. My son first ordered his sandwich without cheese but then changed his mind. They charged us full price for the first order (which I understood), but when I asked if they could just add cheese, they charged me again. When I questioned it, I was told, “That’s the kitchen rule, don’t order if you think it’s not fair.” I ended up paying again just to make my son happy, but the whole experience felt very unreasonable.

The Plex is a fantastic spot for a fun night out! The place has a great variety of entertainment options, from bowling and arcade games to laser tag and virtual reality. The atmosphere is lively and the staff is friendly and helpful. The food and drinks are also pretty good – perfect for grabbing a bite between games. The facilities are clean and well-maintained, and there’s plenty of space for groups. Whether you're looking to hang out with friends or have a family outing, The Plex offers a lot of fun and is definitely worth checking out!

Amazing sports complex with: - Multiple enclosed fields, including a unique blacklight skating rink and dedicated pickleball/badminton courts. - A fantastic arcade. - A convenient food court. Arcade (5/5): Featured a large variety of games, from thrilling racing and shooting games (including an immersive VR headset experience!) to skeeball and other standard arcade classics. Truly a blast! Pickleball courts (3/5): The flooring consisted of plastic tiles, which unfortunately didn't provide much bounce for the ball.

We were hired to play for a private party at this facility. Not only did we have a good time, we had fun throughout the building. This place has everything you can think of when it comes to fun. The staff was very helpful and the food was amazing. I can't wait to come back. This time instead of DJing, I want to play.

We celebrated my son’s birthday at The Plex yesterday and it was absolutely fantastic! It was our first time hosting such a big party with so many kids and adults, and I was a little anxious about the food, the organization, and the overall chaos. But the staff made everything so smooth! We had a dedicated person for the battle activities who followed the kids, and another dedicated person who took care of the food, which made everything run seamlessly. The kids had a blast and the adults could relax and enjoy. Truly a 5-star experience — highly recommended for kids’ parties!

All good vibes, except the smell on Bollywood nights. Continental should implement a strict anti-stink policy so if the patrons smell bad, they either have to wear the cologne (provided by bar) at the entrance, or they have to leave. The dance floor becomes unbearable with all the strong pungent sweaty smell 🤢

If the drinks weren't so good, I would have given this place a ⭐⭐. The bartender treated me very poorly. The male next to me got great service. I had the Lolita which was delicious. Their paloma moderate. Music inside was great.

Showed up on a Sunday night for a friends birthday evening. It was dead, which in a bar isnt a bad thing. This bar has some class and original artwork and definitive atmosphere. The crowd was very pleasant as well as the staff and struck up intelligent and friendly conversation. The bartender actually knew how to make a drink too.

The gin and tonic was too weak. Anyway it was a pretty friendly crowd. Even the bouncers were very courteous when he told us the table was reserved. The music had a techno/disco beat on a Saturday night.

The music is decent and the drink specials are decent. Cover charge of $10-$25 is a bit too high in my opinion. Their website is too inconsistent with its information and misleading. They never answer their phone. It’s the only LGBT+ bar in San Jose

CHECK THEIR INSTA BEFORE COMING Been here several times and had great experiences, but this Sunday night at 10:15pm they’re suddenly Cash only $25 cover when the last 2 Sundays I came at 11pm, there was NO cover! It’s usually only $15 - $20 cover Fridays & Saturdays. Had to just home cause I didn’t have that much cash on me and didn’t have my card on me. Edit: I went to their insta and apparently there was a drag royalty meet and greet that day at 9pm. Dunno if she was still there when I tried to get in as there was no signage or anything said to indicate it wasn’t just a regular Sunday “Wet n’ Wild” drag show. I get you had to charge cover to book the queen, but could you at least update your website to say CASH ONLY, it’s 2025 y’all please!

I’ve been going here ever since i moved to California 4 years ago, every time i visit San Jose is just a great time coming to splash . The only Reason why i lowered the Ratings is because recently they hired a new guy at the door & he’s been very rude & a little Racist. Ps I’m not very confrontational but this time it was just needed. He didn’t allow my friend in because he didn’t have an “American ID” .

I had good fun here. However, I have an issue with their lost and found department. I left my jacket w/ earbuds inside there by accident on May 10th and they wouldn't let me back in because it was too late. I called the next day and the recorded message said they keep found items for 30 days. I return around 9pm on May 13th and the door staff tell me it's too busy for them to go check. I then return at 4pm on the 24th and was told they only keep found items for 1 week before donating them. So, because of this misinformation on their end, they very much could have donated my jacket...who knows.... If someone from the management could reach out, that would be great.

Last Monday I couldn't hear what security said and then he just yelled at me. Disrespectful. I didn't feel safe after that. And I am the only one who was searched by a metal detector. Other people complained too. Fire him or we will never come back.

As of 04/17/21 This bar is Open...It's just picking up, they have still the distance and mask restrictions. If you go around 7 is better you have more chances to get inside and stay there or else the have tables on the street. Good music. I started feeling kinda going back to normal.

Why bother to have a web presence if it’s useless? There was no response to my query about how to see any upcoming events. Why bother to make any plans to go to a SoSo club if you don’t have any idea what to expect? In the past every time we went the place had the atmosphere of a slaughterhouse barn. If there were any other places to be they would have gone out a long time ago… San Jose is one of the worst cities for the “community” I have ever seen! Three bars/clubs in a city this size is embarrassing!!!! But you don’t want my views on that matter!!!

Decent local hag out. Bartender was friendly and pretty efficient. Sometimes she seemed to pay more attention to the local crowd but that's understandable. The food was decent however it is not made on site it comes from a restaurant down the street. Don't let that discourage you though it shows up piping hot and in short order. All in all a very decent lunch or after work hangout spot I'll be back if I'm in the area.

Jack's is a hidden gem of a bar. From the outside it looks like your typical dive, but once you enter you'll notice the modern decor, a wide variety of excellent top and mid shelf liquors in a well organized bar shelf, a spacious outdoor patio and a second bar in the back. The service is excellent and the bar staff know how to make solid drinks. Q and Michelle, the bartenders were friendly and awesome. Brian, the manager took care of us and ensured we had a great time! They have a lot of TVs as well to watch games. Come here if you like a chill spot to have cocktails, beer or watch the game. Lots of friendly local folks in the late afternoon. Dog friendly until 9pm! You can order food at the bar (or QR code), which will be delivered quickly from a neighboring restaurant, J-Town pizza. Will visit again. 🍻

Surprisingly nice inside, given what the exterior looks like. A really great place to watch a ballgame. Unfortunately, no food — but my buddies and I walked to Foster’s across the street and it was fine to bring it in!

A lady that claims to work there was so rude. We are in a bar with loud music but she tried to tell us to be quiet. The guy that did work there told us don't worry about her.

This is one my favorite haunts! If you want legit Cajun-Creole Cookin' see Mr C ! This is a literally Mom & Pop Restaurant with occasional Zydeco live entertainment c/o Mark St Mary and others. The food here will not disappoint!

It rare you get a local neighborhood bar that has an amazing craft beer selection, but what makes this spot even better is there is a food window located inside the bar open until 8pm. They are serving some fire, modern Mexican food, and even smash burgers. Did I mention the cute bartenders? lol. I'd definitely recommend this bar to anyone looking for something different.

The service and the atmosphere make this place robustly fun! The Cali pork belly taco is packed with flavors! The chicken street bowl was tangy and earthy. I asked the bartender to make a drink for me and I ended up getting something tasty and sweet. The colors and lighting create the kind od atmosphere that I enjoy. There are also amusement options like dart boards and pool tables.

The best shrimp/fish tacos I've ever eaten. It's located in a bar (like the name says) and it's not really a restaurant. The food is more on the side of appetizers to enjoy with some cold brews. The kitchen eats can easily be the main attraction at this place but overall good atmosphere.

Had a great evening though it is super loud in here and if a Raiders game very super loud. Bartender was friendly and good. She needed help with a Manhattan but this is a Coors light crowd though they have 20 tapas and 5 or 6 good craft beers. Food window is a separate deal and you pay separately. Nachos were good but I wish the chips were warm too. It's a nice place to drop in for a craft beer though it might seem like a biker or rough bar, it wasn't .

Great food, less than inviting attitude of staff in kitchen. Rude and seem as if they can care less, barely even talk ro you. Its like they're only there for a paycheck and otherwise couldn't care less. They are fairly slow as well and seem to not care. Basically shut up you'll get it when its done. When just me and my daughter we pay around $40 with my wife and son added close to $100. This post is only about the kitchen which appears to be seperate from the bar area. People at the bar area seem nicer. The food is the ONLY thing that brings us back.

The place is really nice. The happy hours are fantastic for both food and drinks, especially the wine and prosecco (highly recommended). The service is good, the waitstaff are friendly, and they offer great recommendations.

This is my local post-work happy hour spot. Not much to choose from on the Alameda. Great beers on tap. Service depends on the day. A little dingy, more divey than expected but it seems cleaner these days than a year ago. Food could be a lot better. I’ve ordered charcuterie boards where they were out of a few items and didn’t mention it, and the nachos were awful. Can’t go wrong with tater tots. Love the all day HH on Wednesdays I believe, it’s a great deal but I wish the food was better. Can’t speak too much to the wines.

super cute to visit on a Friday night <3 really good choices of beer and they have great options for both wine and beer flights! Haven’t tried food, but looking forward to trying on trivia night (Wednesday’s)

My friend and I came in during happy hour and also when wine bottles and cheese boards were 20% off! The food, wine, and service were fantastic and fast! If I had one suggestion, it would be to have QR code menus on the table. Still, we had a great experience and will be back for sure.

Great place for a glass of wine and a bite at the end of the day. Friendly staff - especially Claudia, Dillon and Julius. Had the buffalo mozzarella stack today with my sangria. Delish. Owner Doug is always there to set the tone and makes sure it’s a good experience for his customers.

The bar staff were so helpful when I had questions about red wine selections. I had a wine flight after talking with the bartender. The apps are tasty. The atmosphere is nice here, too. Bathrooms were clean, and I always appreciate that. The bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers are so elevated. I plan on trying the pizzas next time

The friendliest dive bar in San Jose. I started coming here when I first arrived in town and it has become one of my favorite places for a quick and affordable drink.

Free pool, cheap drinks, nice strangers. This bar is kind of a hole in the wall.

The bartenders are nice. The decor is geared towards the punk/metal/alternative crowd without being overbearing. Drinks are good. Location is great. But for some reason I just can't really enjoy going there. It never comes together in a way that isn't meh. Will pop in again, but it's not a destination I will head to that often Update: walked over again. Wasn't awesome, again. Lost a star

The bar was great!! Love the atmosphere, but the bartenders were jerks. Couldn’t get service unless I forced direct eye contact and attention. Sitting at the bar with an empty glass and money to spend is a shame. I could see if these two guys were slammed, but this was not the case. They didn’t want to work and it showed. If I were the owner I would get someone in there who wanted to make money. You’re losing money with these guys.

Cool bar to go to. Wish they had a bigger selection of beer. Also the service is a hit or miss. Sometimes the bartenders are nice, other times they aren't. The art work is nice to look at. Small place, gets crowded fast.

Really friendly bartenders. Always felt welcomed and safe. I didn't drink in the past, and the bartenders were super cool with that. I love the skateboards and art. I only come here on travel visits, will always be my go to spot.

I found this bar a bit cramped and some of the customers made me feel a bit uncomfortable. It's a divey bar without all of the charm, in a sense. Honestly, the bartender was good and the place was clean, so maybe I caught a weird crowd. It seemed to me a lot of the folks in there, who seemed pretty drunk around 5 pm, were regulars. Not sure if I'll give it a second chance.

$2 drinks with tacos after 9 pm! Im there, like once a month. I remember this place decades ago when I went to SJSU. Nice place to hang out again.

If I could give SJBG 0 stars I would. On my 21st birthday I decided to stop by this location. Less than 5 min after being let inside the guy that checked my ID told me I actually had to leave. He notified me that I wasn’t allowed inside because I had to wait until 24 hours had passed my birthday. In other words, I had to be at least 21 years and 1 day old. I will never return to this location. Poor customer service 👎🏽

Good music and it's fun dancing in the back by the DJ booth. I dont drink alcohol but the non alcoholic beverage i ordered tasted great. I really felt in my element there with the screens playing clips from music festivals and good local music being played as well as the more mainstream songs.

Its 1:17 am Theres a blonde white woman working and she got us grabbed up and escorted out by security because she bumped into use with ice cups in her hand, and when my friend reacted she claimed we attacked her. My friend is Mexican and I am Black. She pushed her finger into my friends face and exclaimed that she was attacked, but even witnesses say the bartender bumped into us. I didn’t even react to her to quick to brush ice off me. They snatched my drinks and were very rude all because of a misunderstanding. The security guard was very rude and very aggressive and reluctantly to listen. The manager was very nice tho and assisted us but it was just unfortunate for that to happen.

The female bartender ignored me, then the guy bartender ignored me. I was sober and polite just waiting my turn. They passed me 3 - 5 times until I finally said, hey can I get a drink? More time passed then the guy finally asked what I wanted. No tip for you sir. Get new bartenders with better customer service skills. They still charge cover. The lines are still way too long for the hype. Still the same ratchet crowd and college kids. Music has gotten worst. Small dance floor and dirty bathrooms. I stopped going here years ago, but was dragged this time around.

A cover charge? At a typically college bar with poor college students... just no. Bar and Grill is on the map because it's in the same vicinity as all of the other bars. It's not usually one of my favorites but I was out with friends who wanted to dance and this is one of the few bars that has a dance floor. Maybe I'm just being upset about having a cover- I think it's rude to charge cover when there are tons of other bars that are exactly the same within a couple of blocks. The drinks are OK, nothing different than any other bars in the area. The bar is huge with a lot of bartenders which is helpful on busy nights.

There was cover charge on a Tuesday!! Security is rude, i understand they have to be firm. Getting drinks wasnt too bad. Dj was good. Bathrooms were filthy. A whole block of cops lined up waiting outside waiting for this bar break. Just in front of this establishment actually standing in a line and observing these patrons exiting this bar only. Sooo......

We been coming here for years because my granddaughters have Ice skating but this year the service change and not for the better. We had to go up front and order our drinks and food , then pick it up when ready and it’s just put on the side no contact with anyone and yet they spect a Tip? I don’t think so!! When they come to our table and take our orders I won’t mind tipping.

It's a great place to unwind after the exercise on ice. $28/pitcher even with Pliny the Elder was a great deal.

Horrible place. Went to watch the World Series after work. Everything was great until the hockey game came on. The place was empty as heck. Total of 10 TVs and the bar tender turned off the tv I was watching to put on hockey. I asked him why did he turned off baseball and 2 minutes later security guards surrounded me. I wasn’t rude or anything. After about 5 minutes the guards left but I kept hearing why wasn’t the hockey on by staff and customers ( It was on, on 9 televisions) like I said before the place was empty. What pisses me off, I was a paying customer and was just watching baseball. The Bay Area sucks! I even looked like racism because I’m Mexican!

In August, 2025, another dramatic price increase and a pitcher of beer went from $27 including tax to $28 PLUS tax ($30.63)--a 13.5% increase! The food has also gone downhill and the last two burgers I had over the last month were dry and overcooked. I have been coming here for years after hockey games and sadly now I'm going to look elsewhere.

Truly enjoyed Stanley's! The burnt ends (brisket) appetizer was excellent. Small assortment of craft beers and a great place to take in a Sharks game on the plentiful TVs. Lots of seating and didn't feel crowded. Great venue for after skating or watching a local league play.

Great way to fuel up after exercising on the rink. The food is good enough and there are hockey translation on the screens. Also there are good views on both rinks from the side windows so you can watch live game sitting here.

Ryan and Naomi are the best. Plus we got souvenir cups for free and our food came in less than 2 minutes ❤️ And there was no tax 🤯
