Bar
Art gallery
Karaoke bar
Art Bar is a unique underground club in Columbia that has been a gathering spot for the city's quirkiest individuals since the 90s. The venue offers live music, an artsy atmosphere, and a full bar with a dance floor and lounge area. It hosts various events including local shows, video game tournaments, goth nights, and memorable Halloween celebrations.
Really cute, fun bar with robots everywhere! My husband and I commented that if we lived in Columbia, we would probably come here all the time. There was an $8 cover on a Saturday night- not sure if that’s normal for the weekends, or just because there was a show, but the bands that played were great! Bartenders were polite, beer was cold and served quickly. What more could you ask for?
Kristen B — Google review
Art Bar's a really fun bar, even if it's a little bit outside of my comfort zone! I loved going on karaoke night, it was so much fun watching everybody go all-out and having the crowd sing along. The ambiance was really unique as well, for the first time in Columba I felt like I was getting the real Discoteque experience. I loved how neon the lighting was, it really accentuated the aforementioned disco vibe. The one negative thing I have to say about it was that most (but not all) of the bartenders were very arrogant, and made it seem like an inconvenience to be asked to make a drink. Two of the bartenders didn't even speak when I asked for my drinks, and just made them in awkward silence, and still didn't say anything when I thanked them for it. Another one made a cocktail, and didn't even bother to mix it, which was kind of weird. I debated between giving Art Bar three (3) or four (4) stars based on the service, but I ultimately went with four (4). However, had the service been better, Art Bar would've definitely been a 5-star experience!
John D — Google review
The vibes were great, I was able to go by myself and feel fairly comfortable. Plenty of seating, different areas of the bar to go to. It’s bigger than it looks! Bartender was not the kindest or personable. It seemed like he hated being there. It’s hard to hear over other people and music, and I’ve never ordered at a bar before. He asked what my tab was, I wasn’t sure what to tell him and then he snapped at me for my name. When I went to close my tab, I thought he didn’t hear me so I repeated myself, saying I wanted to close my tab, and he snapped at me again for my name. Didn’t speak to me outside of “what’s your tab” and “name” Other bartenders seemed very friendly and personable. I’m going to give it another chance in a couple of weeks with a friend, hopefully it will be a better experience at the bar
Ash F — Google review
So first and foremost, if this review was ONLY for the food, it would be a five stars. I was pleasantly surprised in the best way it was so good. I was there today for Yalloween (which was awesome). I had a pimento burger (subbed veggie) with the fry basket. I did order a fried egg but the girl taking my order didn’t add it. She is the main reason I took stars (I give her a 2/5) as her demeanor was very rude and dismissive. She made me feel out of place. This is NOT how she treats everyone because she was quite nice and accommodating to the people in front of me who appeared to be regulars. Here’s a tip: if you want more regulars be nicer to the new people. I like the food and seating otherwise. (After I got my food, I found I needed a fork and she did get me one after a short wait.) She told me the total was $19.80 ($18 + $1.80) but it ended up being $20.49. I assumed perhaps there was an upcharge for using debit; however, she didn’t say, and it wasn’t posted. So my second assumption was she thought I wasn’t going to tip so gave herself one instead and thought I wouldn’t notice. I left a smaller tip than my norm due to her demeanor ($1.51) which I guess she can add to that $.69 she had to have. I attached the receipts for reference. If anyone wants to complain about the tip, keep in mind, she only took the order and payment, not make it, expo it, or serve it. Any tip would be generous in this case. I am a tipper most of the time having worked in the service industry before even to the not so great workers. Here’s another tip: assuming someone isn’t going to tip well and treating them poorly is going to fulfill your expectations. Treating them well may surprise you. The guy outside walking around in an art bar shirt passing out fries wasn’t a peach either when I inquired about where to get some; however, it was hectic, and I can understand that much better and doesn’t have a real bearing on this review other than making me wonder if this is the culture of the place. Would I return? Only if invited out with friends, but not likely on my own. ETA: So I read through the other reviews and wow...I am a person of color and seeing so many reviews regarding off treatment of POCs was interesting. I did not initially get that "ick" because the people in front of me that seemed to be regulars? It was an interracial couple and the girl was super cool and nice with the guy who was black. I did not initially think my race was a factor because of that, but I did not feel like I belonged all the same. A lot of my artist friends come here and I figured I would come with them if invited but now, I won't come back at all. Food and overall atmosphere aside, why can't everyone be welcome and not just the regulars?

Two words—PASTA. SALAD. Hands down THE best pasta salad I have ever had!! The chili is also delicious! We ate in the bar and then took chili and more pasta salad home. It’s THAT good. You’ll dream about this delicious goodness.
Jennifer W — Google review
Love the eclectic vibe. Great place to get a drink any night of the week. Cool bands and contests/events often. Inclusive to all as well. Food is good too.
Kay M — Google review
This is probably my last time here. The bartenders they do have aren’t friendly. It looks like a great atmosphere that has lots of potential but as someone who’s looking for a bartending job, the ones here have no personality. The dude outside was semi friendly. Oh and parking??? My first time here I didn’t even know I had to pay to park because the sign is literally IN THE ROAD. And to top it off, it was pouring rain so by the time I got outside the ticket was soggy and non readable so I never paid it cause I didn’t even know who to contact. I tried this place again, was only inside maybe 30 minutes (to talk about a bartending job) and got hit with another parking ticket. They said this is the best bar in town but this place is absolutely garbage just because of the people they have working, and then the parking situation. This place is not all that to where I get an uber and stay the whole night here. Everyone seems pretty stuck up. And plus, in Columbia parking is free after 7pm except 5 points. This is the vista, not 5 points.
April J — Google review
I travel a lot and this has to be one of the cooler bars I've been to just on vibes alone. It's very uniquely decorated and they have a continuous run of metal bands throughout the entire night on weekends. I've never seen a bar quite like it.

Restaurant
Hendrix is an industrial-style restaurant in downtown Columbia, serving a diverse menu of creative small plates and hearty mains. Since 2018, the rooftop bar has been a popular spot for enjoying bites like gochujang deviled eggs and drinks such as the Indah Espresso Old Fashioned. The restaurant offers a mix of local and global influences in its dishes and cocktails.
When I say one of the best places to go in Columbia, I mean that. From the atmosphere to the food, and the service from the staff was Top Tier. This is definitely my new go to place. My wife enjoyed her birthday dinner and all of the drinks was superb 👌. Just know I'll always support especially if my favorite waiter "Mary" I think that was her name is there...Thanks again for a great experience.
Nene — Google review
Tonight was my first time dining at Hendrix and it was an awesome experience. Mekenzie was phenomenally outstanding as our waitress tonight. From start to finish, she did an impeccable job. The food, from the appetizers to dessert AH-MA-ZING-AH!!! I really enjoyed myself with my friends tonight at Hendrix.
Nakeila J — Google review
Absolutely enjoyed our time here! The place is really nice and perfect for a dinner date! I am very pleased with the food! We ordered oysters, mussels, pork belly deviled eggs, and the cheese board, and I will say everything was just perfect! Totally would recommend this place to anyone who enjoys great food and great drinks! Our server, Emilee did a phenomenal job taking care of us!
Razel G — Google review
Great American fusion restaurant. Their menu includes dishes that take inspiration from around the world. My favorites were the spicy lamb naan and Peri Peri Chicken. Our server was great and very patient with our large group. Prices were expectedly high, and I'd definitely come back if I come back to Colombia!
Nancy — Google review
I was really looking forward to trying Hendrix after seeing great reviews on Facebook. I travel here once a month for work and was excited to have a new spot to add to my routine. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. I sat at the bar and was completely ignored for several minutes. The bartender was making drinks for a couple, which I understood, but she didn’t even acknowledge me. After finishing, she walked away. I was about to leave when she finally dropped off a menu without saying a word — no greeting, no water, nothing. When she came back, she asked what I wanted to drink. I asked if she could make a flavored tea, and she said no, so I ordered water. I decided on the stuffed quail with dirty rice and greens. A gentleman sat to my right, and it was clear she knew him. She brought him water and started chatting. Soon two of his friends joined, and her full attention was on their group. She eventually brought my food — which was actually really good — but that was the last I heard from her until I asked for my check. My water glass stayed empty while she refilled theirs; I finally had to ask another waitress for a refill. The food was delicious, but the service made me feel unwelcome. Even the hostess didn’t say goodbye when I left. I was so excited to try this place, but after how I was treated, I don’t think I’ll be back. $52 wasted — because customer service means more to me than good food. I even left a note on the receipt that said, “If you were more attentive, I would’ve left a much larger tip.

We ordered the blue crab hush puppies and they were phenomenal! So, we thought we would keep the seafood crab vibe going and ordered the soft crab sandwich. Oh my gosh!! Why did we do that! I am from Beaufort, SC so I have grown up eating blue crabs and the likes. I must commend this restaurant on the idea to serve a whole crab sandwich; might I add shells included. This was not and is not a good choice on their menu. We basically purchased the part of the crab people throw away. I would not recommend the soft crab sandwich unless you crave soft shells. To a better note: the service was awesome and atmosphere is perfect for a romantic night.

High end, very tasty food and cocktails. Nice rooftop bar. Our server was excellent and we will be back.
Jessica M — Google review
Our party of 10 had a great time on the rooftop. The small plates are amazing, especially the lamb, okra and Brussel sprouts. Service was on point and prices are reasonable.

Wine bar
Lula Drake Wine Parlour, located on Main Street, has a rich history dating back to the 1920s when it was a hat shop owned by Ms. Lula Drake herself. Today, it's an elegant wine bar offering more than just your typical wine pours. The menu is small but diverse and perfectly complements the selection of wines available each night. The chef specializes in crafting unique handmade pasta dishes such as chitarra cut pasta strands and purple potato gnocchi.
Lula Drake wine parlour is the best bar you’ll find in South Carolina. As soon as you walk in the staff welcomes you with open arms. Shoutout Jess the bartender, very assertive and accommodating. The dark chocolate terrine cake is out of this world. The bar is beautiful and the ambiance inside is original and pristine. Really a great vibe for the city of Columbia.
Daniel S — Google review
Incredible experience at Lula Drake! The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. The food and the wine was unreal. Everything was paired so perfectly. I tried the Somm’s choice with dinner and it was amazing. So much care and attention to the details that really make Lula Drake special. I cannot recommend them enough. Thank you for a wonderful night!
J — Google review
It’s no wonder that the Lula Drake was named the friendliest place in South Carolina by Southern Living Magazine last year. Throw on their other accolades like a James Beard award last year and you certainly have a recipe for success. Thank God, I was with a table of people that love to share with one another so that we could order practically one of everything. The wine and cocktails were obviously exceptional, but the stars of the show for me was the Korean fried chicken ‘KFC’ and the Cacio E Pepe. The chicken was incredibly crunchy on the outside while also so juicy on the inside with a sticky sauce that was packed with flavor and wasn’t overly spicy. However, their take on a traditional, humble pasta dish was over the top. The gnocchi like pillows were decadent and melted in your mouth. What I loved most was that since they are in a subtle sauce with fresh cracked pepper it allows them to be the star of the dish without being overpowered by a bold sauce. The ambience of the restaurant was elevated without being pretentious and while it was a fairly tight space, the staff was very accommodating, and our server was phenomenal. There are a number of great spots for a cocktail or dessert on this stretch in Columbia, so come hungry.
Alex W — Google review
Loved everything. Service was great (thanks Bailey), and the food? The cacio e Pepe gnocchi with ham is by far the best dish I’ve ever had. Ever. It’s a must!
Candace D — Google review
Wonderful little spot in the city! The atmosphere is cozy yet elegant, perfect for a relaxing evening. The Sidecar was absolutely astounding — a fantastic blend of gin and sweet that hit all the right notes. The real treat, though, was the Lula’s Lieutenant — two perfectly cooked chicken legs with rich Indian spices. Absolutely incredible and bursting with flavor. Easily one of the most unique and delicious dishes I’ve had in a while.
John A — Google review
Shout out to Jessica for going above and beyond tonight. I called and chatted with her about my partner going in there tonight by herself and asked if I could pay her bill as a surprise. She was excited to help and beyond that, she gave my partner an amazing experience with superior customer service. The food was a 10/10 (and my partner is quite the food critic). Everything was fantastic. Thank you x a million! Hope I get to visit someday!
Laura S — Google review
Terrific experience. Not “dinner and drinks”, but an experience. The wine program, the food, the service, the atmosphere, all come together to create a warm memory. We lucked out and got the best seat in the house at the front window. Our server, Erin Lee, greeted us warmly. I had read about their wine program and was very excited to try wines by the glass I would not normally have access to by the glass. I’m not a wine expert but I can capably describe what I like. Erin Lee listened very attentively and brought me wines that were perfectly suited to my tastes. Most restaurants are a food menu with a wine program wrapped around it. I would argue the strength of this establishment is the reverse; figure out what wine you really want and then order food around that. Not to suggest their menu is second tier – far from it. Everything we ordered was great and Erin Lee had great suggestions. If you’re not into wine or alcohol you will still absolutely enjoy. Or, if you’re like me, go with both white and red and order all around LOL. Service was very good. Staff promptly removes unwanted items from the table without fuss or hovering. Bonus points for lack of pretentiousness. Can’t wait to go back.
Dana J — Google review
Such a wonderful, romantic atmosphere. Lula Drakes is perfect for a date, small gathering of friends, or even a solo night with a book such as I myself had. The food and wine were divine ~ I especially loved the cacio e pepe, so creamy and pillowy. I'm not usually a huge wine drinker, but Lula Drakes menu made paring wine and food so easy, as did my wonderful server, Bailey. Everyone was so welcoming from the moment I stepped in the door, but Bailey shined brightest of all. I can't wait to come back and try more of the delicious wine and dishes. If you visit, take time to read the wine descriptions. They made me smile and were quite spot on. :) Thank you, everyone, at Lula Drakes!

Live music bar
Bar
Restaurant
Tin Roof is a laid-back bar and music venue that offers a unique twist on American pub food. Situated next to the Music Farm, it occasionally collaborates with its neighbor for combined events. The venue hosts Building the Band nights showcasing emerging South Carolina talent and music trivia events like 30 Second Rocks. Unlike its all-music neighbor, Tin Roof also provides a full restaurant menu for guests seeking both nourishment and entertainment.
Absolutely love this place. It’s off season. Wide open. Live music and great filler music. Staff is kind, attentive and welcoming. Food and drinks… yeaaahhhh!

Great dry rub wings and tenders. Great food and drinks deals. Great tacos, tots, and qeuso. Good margaritas deals but tasted water down. Our waiter was great. Enjoyed the music bingo.
Byron J — Google review
Living in Columbia all my life I never been to this place and I understood today why. The building and location is great but the service was horrible. I felt unwelcomed from the time I sat down. The bartenders act as I was disturbing them and my food was burned. I add the S because it was all of them. For a person who has been a bartender and waitress and who easily have a 200 dollar bill....I was glade to only have spent under 50 to spend more at a business that welcomes me.
Ms H — Google review
We visited Tin Roof on a Saturday night and had an absolute blast! They had a live band, and the music was great. I loved the atmosphere. It’s also nice that it’s easy to walk to you if you’re staying downtown. Next time I’m back in Columbia I will for sure visit again!
Ashlie M — Google review
Great bar and so neat to see all the decor and know they have musicians that became focus after they played here. They have had many musicians just starting out here and have gone on to do more. The food is great and they have great prices. I wish I lived closer. This is a great venue!
Cynthia ( — Google review
This is a really cool music venue/restaurant! The service is excellent! The employees are very inviting and friendly. The venue is always holding special events and they supply a variety of musical guests. The venue is in the heart of Columbia. The atmosphere is very cool, especially the stage and lighting in the venue. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here.
Alex K — Google review
Really cool server but 1) the appetizers are really expensive especially for how much you're getting. The queso has jalapeños in it and you get about a cup for $7. Good chips though. 2) Strangely lame beer selection, just nothing interesting. 3) Seats are solid wood. Hurts
Meredith B — Google review
A very cool place! A very interesting atmosphere and good food. I didn’t go on a night that had live music so I can’t attest to that, but I’ll definitely go back with friends in the future.

Italian restaurant
Black Rooster is a lively bar with stunning city views, especially from its rooftop overlooking the river and the cityscape. The self-proclaimed "Frenchish" spot offers traditional French cuisine like quiche, croque monsieur, tuna tartare, and mussels. The menu features shareable plates and main courses catering to vegetarians, pescatarians, and carnivores. Indulge in half a dozen oysters before your main course.
Ventured across the river and Found Free parking near by. I went to the roof top To check out the views and service was super friendly. She gave me some great recommendations and provided great service. I started with the Hugo on the rocks and enjoyed the pear flavor although I prefer real glass over plastic. The beet salad was the highlight of my meal. I enjoyed it throughly and it was so simple. The dressing doesn’t overpower the dish, instead I felt like it accentuated the flavors. The pistachios added a hint of sweetness snd a delightful crunch. I also had the whipped feta and I couldn’t decide if I enjoyed the bread or the cheese more. Delightful experience.
Nik K — Google review
I recently dined solo here, and the service was easily the highlight of the experience. My server had a great attitude, was attentive, and made sure I was well taken care of. The space itself felt a bit cramped, the downstairs dining area could definitely benefit from a more open and refined layout. I initially ordered the Caesar salad, but the lettuce was wilted, likely from sitting under a heat source or soaking too long in dressing. Fortunately, the server was quick to remake it without hesitation, which I really appreciated. For drinks, the Hugo Spritz was refreshing and well-balanced. The Chrysalis cocktail, however, had an unpleasant chemical taste, almost like tire rubber, definitely a miss. I also tried the bolognese, which was pretty good. The noodles were slightly overcooked, but overall the flavor profile was very nice. Overall, the service was excellent and genuinely improved the experience, the food and atmosphere didn’t quite meet my expectations but I’ll try anything at least three times.

Came here with family while visiting south Carolina. Place has a great feel about it Great place to come and talk with friends and family Bar service is self service by ordering at the bar. They will bring your food choices it to your table. Drinks as well you would need to go to the bar. Down stairs has all the amenities you would expect. Just depends on your moment. Our food choices came out to our likening. No issues with our food choices Blackrooster lived up to all the other reviews. It’s a great place to come and eat rooftop is a great place to enjoy the scenery along with your food and most of all with your friends and family.

If you were looking at the menu, reviews and/or pictures and wondering if they have good food.. the answer is YES. The burger & fries ….. Please, do yourself a favor. GET IT! I do believe that this may be the absolute BEST burger/fry combination I’ve ever had! And honestly (I’m not a burger girl!) The cheese, the caramelized onions.. worth every calorie. The service was incredible! Grace was so sweet & attentive my entire visit. She played with babies, stood and listened while I talked her head off. The drinks were perfectly made. Don’t even get me started on THE PLAYLIST. I individually downloaded every single song. Then, to top it all off, the chocolate, strawberry dessert with mascarpone was absolute perfection! This is now my favorite place in Columbia. I would give it 10 stars if I could.

Had a nice dinner at Black Rooster. The staff was friendly. Had the Burrata to start - the meal was a good refresher but the Burrata could be of better quality. The main meals were equally tasty. The food preparation was timely! Would return.
Shoreline T — Google review
I couldn’t recommend Black Rooster more heavily. The staff as a whole make their guests feel welcome, special, and at home. Our server, Ashley, was so kind and helpful. She happily answered our questions and ensured our experience and meals were PERFECT. The ambiance is elegant while maintaining a comforting and cozy feel. The food was unbelievably well-priced considering the amount and quality of the food. It was also great to go to a restaurant that did not rush you out of there, only worried about turning tables. Black Rooster truly allows you to enjoy your food and the experience as a whole. We will definitely be back soon!

Wife and I went just to try the place. We went to the roof top to get away from street noise. We started with drinks which unfortunately were very watered down. We then ordered the brisket burger and pasta. The brisket burger had no trditional brisket but supposedly had brisket mixed with the hamburger. We both love brisket and regularly smoke our own. Raw beef that could to used to make brisket is NOT brisket. Anyone that tell you different needs to return to culinary school. As expected it tasted like a cheap, very overcooked burger to us. Add insult to injury the fries the accompanied the hamburger were delivered cold. The pasta was under cooked far beyond Al dente and the rest of the dish was just as unremarkable as the mixed drinks. The menu promised elevated cuisine but delivered less than we have had a decent local restaurants for half the price. Based on our experience we cannot recommend this establishment.

Here’s a NED-style review for Black Rooster: --- ✅ What Works Well - Stylish, modern spot offering elevated Latin American cuisine with a creative twist. - Standout dishes like empanadas, ceviche, and well-seasoned grilled meats. - Chic ambiance with a welcoming, upscale-casual vibe. - Craft cocktails and curated wine list pair well with the menu. - Friendly, attentive service enhances the dining experience. --- 👎 What to Watch Out For - Portions can lean small for the price. - Can get crowded—reservations are a good idea. - Parking may be limited depending on location. - Not ideal for picky eaters or those unfamiliar with Latin-inspired flavors. --- 🎯 Verdict Black Rooster offers bold Latin flavors in a refined setting—great for date nights, foodies, and those looking to try something a bit upscale yet approachable. Motor Supply Company Bistro is an upscale American restaurant located in the revamped Vista district. With a daily changing menu, it offers a casually upscale dining experience. The restaurant's outdoor sculpture garden adds to its charm, making it a great spot for a romantic date or hanging out with friends.
Greeted by the sweet gentleman who valet parked our car. Walked into a fantastic old building with so much charm. High ceilings and exposed brick. I believe it was a machine shop with a hotel next store at one time. Had a charming table in the middle of the restaurant with cozy vibes. Our server Devin was kind and personable with a great overall knowledge of the menu. We shared fresh burrata with melon and a pickle cheese board. Outstanding with so much flavor. Being a vegetarian I had a pasta dish with cream and fresh vegetables which included zucchini, squash and tomatoes. My guests each had shrimp and grits. The grits are farmed from NC and the shrimp was the perfect size and full of flavor. Yes a spoon was also provided to lap it all up. The cocktails were delicious as well as a lovely bottle of red wine - Sangiovese- from Italy. Crème brûlée in a generous-sized ramekin was our dessert choice which was outstanding. Truly a special dining experience celebrating my son’s birthday. We will be back. A little gem in a sweet little city. Thank you!

Great food, drinks, and ambiance. Cocktails were on par with the best that I've had anywhere else. Doug was on point with the service. Food was cooked and prepared perfectly. Can't say enough good things about this place.

The pork chop was easily the best part of the meal. Service was attentive and truly great. The wreckfish was average, and the brownie sundae was a miss (hard, crispy brownies). Be warned about the final bill. It includes a surprising number of itemized taxes/fees below the subtotal (these are typical), plus a separate 3% credit card surcharge. Suggest the restaurant incorporates these costs into the menu prices for a cleaner customer experience. (they position it as a "saving" if you pay cash which less than 20% of people do these days).

Came here for a quick lunch with family and although they were happy with the food, I was not as fortunate. My wife loved her meatloaf and the risotto. My daughter also loved her grilled cheese and soup. I am a self proclaimed burger connoisseur, so after I read a sign stating they have the “best burger in South Carolina” I was eager to try. The presentation of the burger was very good and I was off to a great start until I took a bite. The first thing I heard was my wife saying ewww as she watched blood squirt out of the burger. At that point I was done. I told the server and he asked if I wanted them to cook this burger up some more? Not would you like a new one, but would you like this one cooked longer. It really wouldn’t have mattered, because after I send something back I don’t trust you and don’t want anything else. On the other hand, he could’ve heard my concerns taken the food back and prior to us leaving brought out another one to go just for the inconvenience. That’s what good customer service looks like. Unfortunately, not only did I have to deal with a bloody burger but I had to deal with bad customer service as well.

Loved the atmosphere here, and Marley made the experience even better with her amazing service! The food was good, just wish it had a little more seasoning, but the crème brûlée and desserts were absolutely delicious.

Bourbon is a historic whiskey bar and Cajun-Creole eatery located in the Brennen Building in Columbia. The ambiance exudes an upscale saloon feel with exposed brick walls, repurposed wood, and gaslight-inspired chandeliers. It boasts South Carolina's most extensive whiskey collection, including Kentucky bourbons, Irish whiskeys, and Japanese scotches. The restaurant offers a curated selection of bourbons and a menu centered on Cajun and Creole cuisine.
Great Bourbon/Whiskey Bar in the city with a very diverse menu. The food was upscale New Orleans/Southern inspired. The team in the kitchen are at the top of their game. Bar staff backs it up with super dope cocktails. A must try when you’re in the city.

Great restaurant and bar! Got dinner at the restaurant section and then went to the lounge for drinks. Gumbo was the best I've had outside of New Orleans, and my friends really enjoyed their burgers as well. Server was very kind and the hickory made the inside smell wonderful.

We enjoyed the ambiance, service, and food. However, the shrimp and grits were extremely spicy. Overall the drinks were stellar. We enjoyed sitting outside at the tables after our meal. I would recommend this restaurant.

Phoenix made our dinner at Bourbon absolutely unforgettable!!! She was a shining star during our weekend in Columbia. Not only did she give the best recommendations but she was an absolute pleasure to yap with. As for the food, Phoe put us on to the best plates we could have asked for: the smoked pork and the étouffée. Both were cooked to perfection and had mesmerizing flavor. The smoked pimento cheese dip (pictured) was also a fantastic starter. As for drinks, we recommend the sunset tico—tequila and passion fruit is an undefeated combo. We would have taken more photos, but we ate too fast!

Wonderful drinks, food was absolutely delicious. I had the pimento cheese appetizer and shrimp and grits my friend had the special. Amazing all Around. The decor was aligned with the bourbon name and was dark and earthy.

Bourbon in Columbia is an absolute gem. From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere sets the tone as it’s warm, stylish, and full of Southern charm with a modern edge. The bourbon selection is one of the best I’ve seen, with everything from local favorites to rare pours, making it a true paradise for whiskey lovers. Every dish feels thoughtfully crafted, blending rich flavors with a Southern flair. The inclusivity on the menu for vegetarian and gluten-free options, ensures everyone at the table can enjoy a great meal without feeling limited. The steak frites are a standout, and the small plates like beignets are perfect for sharing alongside a cocktail. I ordered blue skies, yaya hurricane and heart of Darkness. The service is professional yet welcoming, striking that balance of upscale dining with a relaxed, inviting vibe. Whether you’re stopping in for a drink at the bar, a date night, or dinner with friends, Bourbon delivers a five-star experience every time. It’s easily one of the best spots in Columbia.

Located just outside of Williams-Brice Stadium, home to the University of South Carolina football team, River Rat Brewery is a popular spot in Columbia. The intimate taproom offers well-received beers like Astronaut Sauce and American Kolsch Story, as well as prosecco pops for those who prefer an alternative to beer. Their colorful cans can be found throughout the city.
What a cool place! First - it’s completely family friendly! And dog friendly too. There’s a small indoor bar area, a covered porch that can be used for private events, a larger covered area, and a huge grassy area with picnic tables and space for Cornhole. One of the coolest features is the former grain silo turned into a stairwell that leads up to a bridge to a rooftop bar that has the loveliest view of Williams Brice Stadium. The rooftop bar is limited to 21 and up. We were at a catered event that served BBQ and Mac and Cheese but apparently they have great snacks foods and I heard the nachos are great. And, of course, local brews. The Raspberry beer was great and the Red Ale. No one in the group said anything but good reviews on the beer. If you don’t care for beer, they have a wide selection of wines and some frozen drinks. I can’t believe it took me so long to finally get to this place. It has a great ambiance, great brew. We had a wonderful evening!

Staying in Columbia SC on our way home, we went here at night for late supper and a local brew. Wide variety of beers on tap. I tried the Fruit Sour and it was really good. Not too sour and plenty of flavor. We got Smoked Chicken and Pork BBQ tacos and they were generous and super delicious. Some of the best I've had. Also got the nachos and they were basic, but good. Great atmosphere with limited indoor and plenty of outdoor seating. Tight parking lot but you can park next door at the Construction company. Friendly staff present. Wanna go back.

Located at 2107 Green St., this amusing late-night spot attracts a diverse clientele and is especially popular among college students who often visit after their studies are finished for the night. It is known as Columbia's archetypal college bar, offering affordable drinks, energetic music, and an outdoor area that provides a tranquil escape from the crowd.
A blast from the past. I regularly went to "Group" back in '84 when the bartender was the DJ playing all the best rock n roll on VINYL. My most fond lifelong memory was an informal dance at a tall table with a beautiful girl to "Sympathy for the Devil"; we shook hands with the "pleased to meet you" verse. Oh how the reviews reflect the change of times for better or worse. Btw, watching a S. Carolina football game as I'm typing. Go Cocks!

I’m extremely disappointed with my experience here. My friend, who uses a wheelchair, couldn’t get through the barricades while waiting in line. She politely asked the bouncer (ginger with glasses) if she could wait near him until the rest of us made it to the front, and his response was beyond unacceptable. He told her “too bad” and said he "couldn’t help" because she was in a wheelchair. When she asked again, he shrugged and said, “She can get in the line if she wants — it’s not my problem.” This place clearly does not prioritize accessibility or inclusivity. The staff showed zero understanding, patience, or basic human decency. I would not recommend this place to anyone, especially if you or someone you’re with has any accessibility needs. Completely unprofessional and disappointing.

bouncers are so rude, me and my girl are 18, I ensured entry was 18, we both were coming for the music last night, and the bouncers were so rude to us! people in front of us had fakes and they got yelled at (which is totally valid and understandable, but then we also got yelled at before we had a chance to talk!), we came back 30 minutes later, it was booked by a frat. That’s totally cool, but they didn’t answer the phone any of the times we called, we came back today to a closed door, two nights, two fails :(

Savage Craft Ale Works, a veteran-owned establishment in West Columbia, offers a modern outdoor setting where visitors can savor excellent brews under the Carolina blue skies. Whether you opt for the rooftop patio, front lawn, or back yard space, there are diverse experiences to be had at this tap house. On Sundays, guests can also indulge in a unique brunch experience.
Savage Craft Ale Works West Columbia, SC Visited: April 12, 2025 Occasion: Casual night out Savage Craft Ale Works is a unique gem tucked into West Columbia, combining a great craft beer experience with rich local history. The venue itself is impressive—it’s made up of two beautifully renovated historic buildings: the former Brookland Fire Station & City Hall and the old New Brookland Jail, dating back to around 1908. The space spans three stories, each with its own vibe. We tried the Canopy Surfer Sour Rainbow Sherbet and the Blueberry Cider—both were fantastic and full of flavor. Their drink menu offers a great mix, whether you’re into sours, ciders, or classic ales. The main floor features indoor seating, a full bar and menu, and a large outdoor area that’s both family- and pet-friendly. We enjoyed live music outside while still being able to hold a conversation, thanks to the well-balanced sound throughout the venue. The second floor was open but seemed reserved for private events or special occasions. The rooftop bar, open to those 21+, offered a lively atmosphere with music and full service as well. Outdoor spaces were cozy and inviting with firepits and soft lighting, making it a perfect spot to unwind. The service was friendly, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. There’s free parking available off Meeting Street and a spacious elevator that services all floors, which is great for accessibility. No complaints here—we’ll definitely be back!

Savage Craft is a really cool brewery, arguably the best in Columbia! Now, I'm not a beer drinker, so I can't comment on the quality of their brews. However, my cocktail was pretty good, albeit a little expensive, and their selection of drinks was expansive as compared to other breweries. The inside of the establishment was decked out with some really cool artwork, and the inside was very spacious, sleek, and modern. My favorite part of Savage Craft was the outside lawn area, which was situated on artificial grass and had a lot of tables that you could sit at. It seems like the perfect place to either grab a drink with friends, or unwind by yourself. Also, I can't wait to bring my dog back in the future! All-in-all, Savage Craft was a really cool place, and I'll be back in the future!

Confusing for us middle-aged, but in sure it fit perfectly for the millennial people. Order food there, order drinks next door.... eating outside, fighting flies... but like I said the millennial group wouldn't mind.... was a bad sewer lift station smell in the area on the third floor. Savage ribs had no flavor... good idea but needed real flavor... fish tacos was like eating stuffed flour tortillas.... no flavor... nice looking atmosphere though

I had a great time trying out their blueberry beer. It was delicious and had a unique flavor that I really enjoyed. The atmosphere of the bar was cozy and inviting, making it a great place to relax and enjoy a drink. In addition to the beer, I also tried their tacos and they were absolutely fantastic. The flavors were bold and the presentation was beautiful. The food was fresh and made with high-quality ingredients, which really elevated the overall dining experience. we love jakes. vibe is always great, staff are friendly, plenty of space. the outdoor area is awesome when the weather is great and def a better experience than other bars when youre all cramped up inside
Julia C — Google review
I traveled from out of state and specifically chose Jake’s because of its dog-friendly reputation. I researched the policy ahead of time. The current PDF on their website says dogs must be leashed by 11PM, with no mention of a 10PM cutoff. When I returned after feeding my dog, we were told dogs aren’t allowed after 10. Mind you I was just in there… after 10, another dog in there as well. Just went to the car to feed my dog. The policy isn’t posted anywhere, and other dogs had been there moments before. When I brought this up, I was told ‘the policy changed 6 months ago’ but again, this wasn’t reflected anywhere online or on site. It felt dishonest and dismissive, especially to someone who went out of their way to follow the rules. When I asked to see a policy I was told “they have the right to turn anyone away” which yes is true, but how ethical is that if it’s a complete lie? ..or to have nothing to back it up? This is my first time visiting Columbia and I’ve been really excited but this completely ruined my night. I downloaded and read the entire policy and went back to discuss this with them and all I got was deflection. Really upset over this. I would’ve visited another city if I knew we’d be treated this way.
Harper H — Google review
I usually love this place, but I’ve had several strange experiences lately. The staff is generally great, except for the blonde bartender who works inside. Now, I only get drinks from the outside bar because she’s consistently rude and clearly chooses who to serve first. I work in F&B and fully understand how stressful it can be behind the bar, but what I can’t excuse is her attitude. It’s one thing to hustle for tips, but there’s no reason to serve every man before a woman, especially when we’ve been waiting longer. Ladies, save yourself the frustration and head to the outside bar instead.
Ciara — Google review
Great time tonight at “yappy hour” where the dogs run free in the back patio. All the dogs were very well behaved and had a great time. Food was okay, slightly overpriced in our opinion for the quality, but worth it to come for an app or two and have some drinks. My husband enjoyed the beer selection- says it’s “very very good.” The owner? was giving out the dogs treats and saying hi to everyone which was a nice touch. Overall, a really pleasant way to spend an evening for any dog parent.

We were a little nervous going to Jake's because we knew all the dogs were going to be there. It took our dog a few minutes to get used to being able to walk around with all the food around, but he loved it. The manager it owner was walking around the whole time making sure there weren't any fights (not that he had to worry). The food was excellent and their rippers (deep fried hot dogs) were amazing! As for us, it took some getting used to telling someone else's dog not too jump on the picnink table, but it was worth every bit.

Hunter-Gatherer Brewery/Taproom is a beloved brewpub in the state, known for its diverse customer base and lineup of English ale styles with some west coast influences. The ESB is a standout brew, alongside Pale Ale, Wheat Ale, and seasonal options. The downtown location offers an extensive array of house-brewed English-style ales and guest taps, paired with an elevated menu.
The Hunter-Gatherer was AWESOME! Columbia has quite a few great breweries, but Hunter-Gatherer is right up there with all of them! First and foremost, the ambiance is so cool! It's in an old airport hangar, so it's plenty spacious, and they lean into the history of the hanger with some really cool contemporary artwork of airplanes, pilots, and helicopters. One of my friends is a pilot, and he loved looking at all of the different art pieces they had. I also loved the set-up, with the empty barrels and brewing equipment in plain view. In terms of their brews, they were immaculate as well. I tried a few different ones, all of which were great, but settled on the Grapefruit IPA, which is one of my favorite IPAs that I've ever tasted. Some of their other great ones were the Galaxy IPA, the Hazy IPA, and the English Pale Ale. With regard to their food, the pizza was absolutely DELICIOUS. It was baked to perfection, tasted amazing, and was the exact amount of crispy without tasting burnt. My guests said that they enjoyed their salads as well. Finally, the entire staff was super sweet, and made me feel welcomed the whole time. They chatted with me, provided me samples, and generally made me want to come back time and time again. Overall, I can't say enough good things about the Hunter-Gatherer, and it's now one of my favorite spots in Columbia!
John D — Google review
Nice battery brewery with small menu of traditional bar food. Wide selection of beers that is updated regularly. Not a huge selection of food, but the pizza I ordered was fairly large and tasted like pizza. A lot of space to sit so large groups can be accommodated, including both indoors and outdoors. The building is an old airplane hanger and includes a large amount of brewing equipment which is really cool to see. A great spot to hang out and drink with friends.
Matt H — Google review
The place with its history is awesome, the beer is tasty, but the service kinda sucked. The bartenders didn’t seem to enjoy their jobs..at all. We greeted them with excitement just to be met with disappointment. My girlfriend wanted to tip 15%, but I insisted on 20% because I’m in the industry. I honestly wish I let her tip the 15% percent though, because she was right.. They literally did nothing besides pour our beer. When we were trying to decide they didn’t offer any suggestions or samples..until we asked. There were no smiles, no suggestions, no nothing. They honestly kind of seemed annoyed.. So yeah, work on the staff and your place is awesome!

A great spot for drinks and socializing! The ambiance here is fantastic, creating a welcoming and lively atmosphere. The bartenders are skilled and attentive, making the experience even better. The beer selection is delicious, though the food doesn’t quite meet the same standard. Overall, it’s an excellent place for gathering with friends and enjoying great drinks.
Gigi — Google review
Probably the coolest brewery yet! Just a stone’s throw from the USC stadium and set in an old aircraft hangar — the vibe alone makes it worth the trip. The beer was excellent — the ESB was delicious, and the Orange Lager was super smooth and crushable (perfect for a hot pool day). Very cool spot, great atmosphere, and absolutely worth the ride!
John A — Google review
Hunter-Gatherer at the Curtiss-Wright Hangar is arguably the most unique brewery experience in South Carolina. The setting is incredible—a massive, historic aircraft hangar with high ceilings, original beams, and a rustic, cavernous feel. They brew all their beer on-site, and their focus on traditional English and German styles is a refreshing change. The Kellerbier is a standout—unfiltered, crisp, and incredibly drinkable. The atmosphere is laid-back and family-friendly, with plenty of space to spread out. They often have live music or trivia nights, which adds to the community feel. The food is simple and good, with pizzas and pretzels that pair perfectly with the beer. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable about the brewing process. Sitting outside on their patio on a cool evening, looking at the old hangar, is a truly special Columbia experience. It’s a must-visit for history buffs and beer lovers alike.

Great brewery in an historic location with plenty of parking. We had a large group (about 20) meeting up on a Saturday night about 7, and were able to hold down a large table, order plenty of beer and sample the delicious variety of pizza. The upstairs balcony is delightful ambiance for a date or quiet conversation, and would make for great pictures. Friendly staff; highly recommend.

Gervais & Vine is a chic Mediterranean wine and tapas bar that offers an extensive selection of over 40 wines by the glass, along with a diverse range of beers and single malts.
My husband and I came in this afternoon for an early dinner. He is in restaurants and I’m in healthcare, so it’s rare we get the occasion to go to a nice, relaxing dinner together. We were celebrating our anniversary early because as it goes, he will be out of town for work. We didn’t mention this, as we didn’t want or need extra attention. Our server was EXCEPTIONAL, the food was outstanding….from the subdued, polite, young host, to the moment we left, we thoroughly enjoyed our time. Kudos! We used to be regulars when we lived downtown, but when we get the chance, we will certainly return. I highly recommend to anyone who likes a laid back, relaxing atmosphere and great wine and food selection from start to finish. Thank you for a lovely date night.

We stopped in for a drink and appetizers and were pleasantly surprised. We initially sat inside but moved outside as the weather was great. Our waiter was excellent, he provided great service and was very personable. We had a combination of celiac disease requiring gluten free options as we as shellfish and specifically allergy to muscles. He understood the allergies and options as well as very knowledgeable of the menu, wine and other drink options. The appetizers we selected were all very good as well as the drink choices. Oh, our group tried two of the wine flights that were very nice selections too.

Wine selection was good, service was good. Only issue we had was the smell of the building. We got there before they began cooking really and the smell was concerning. Somewhat like an old basment/sewageish. If it did not smell would be a 5 star.

Wonderful waitress!! Atmosphere is always a vibe! The food was ok, wedge salad presentation was mediocre( so I didn't take a picture). The noochi needed a bit more flavor. Shrimp was cooked perfectly, and the brie spread was delish. Overall, it was a great experience!

Newly relocated to the Columbia area, I was out exploring the scene for a drink and bite to eat. I happened upon Gervais and Vine in passing and figure it would be a good opportunity to try out a new spot and gamble on getting my fix of both for the night. It proved to be a great choice as I had an extremely enjoyable evening orchestrated by my waiter Josh and chef Jeff. Both gentlemen were very pleasant, personable and had an apparent passion for their jobs which showed through in the services that were provided. They deserve special recognition. The wine and dishes I tried at Josh’s suggested were all delicious and the vibes in the atmosphere were perfect in distracting my mind from the work day. Coming from Charleston SC, I was nervous about not having an experience that would compare to what I was use to but Gervais and Vine represented Columbia well and made me feel at home in a foreign land. I highly recommend giving them a try. I feel confident that you’ll leave just as impressed.

Mexican restaurant
Bar
Cocktail bar
Coa Agaveria y Cocina is a warm and contemporary Mexican restaurant located on Lady Street. It offers a comforting Jalisco-inspired menu featuring tacos, burritos, beers, and tequila drinks. The restaurant is known for having one of the longest lists of craft margaritas in Columbia, including the Coa Margarita with orange liqueur and Margaritas Frescas with various flavors like pomegranate, hibiscus, cucumber, mint, strawberry, and mango.
One of my favorite Mexican restaurants. The restaurant is dark with candles lit on every table, giving it a romantic vibe. The food and drinks were excellent. I got the Mango Margarita Fresa. It was delicious, well balanced and not too sweet, came with a Tajin rim. For appetizers we got the cevice which came with chips and salsa. It all tasted really nice and fresh. We got some small plates to share, including the Mole Poblano, crab empanadas, and tacos de pancita. Best mole and emapanadas I've ever had. The mole was rich and deep in flavor and turned me into a quail fan. The empanadas were nice and crispy, filled with lump crab and cheese, and served with an avocado mousse. The pork belly in the tacos were good but I wasn't a fan of the adobo glaze, it tasted like ketchup/bbq sauce. Overall, it was a great dining experience and I'm excited to come back again!

Fantastic food and an even better tequila selection! Every dish was full of flavor and beautifully presented. The staff was knowledgeable and helped us navigate their impressive agave collection. Whether you’re a tequila lover or just after a great meal, Coa is definitely worth the visit. I’ll be back for sure!

Food here was amazing!! My fiance said his tacos were in the top ten of tacos he's ever had! I had the poblano mole and it was definitely the best mole I've ever had. The cocktails were also wonderful and very well crafted. Our server was so sweet and super helpful even when we asked for a complicated bill split. Definitely recommend!

This was the best Mezcal old-fashioned I have ever had in my entire life. And I’ve had a lot of Mezcal old-fashioneds. In a lot of countries. It’s my signature drink. Outstanding drinks, food and service with only two small areas of improvement that I will list at the end. First, everything from the bar looked really interesting; keep in mind that they’re using agave in a lot of the drinks, which adds complexity and wonderful flavor. And, of course, Mezcal lends a smokiness to all of that. I had the oaxaquena which was so fresh; the lime really sparkled. And the aforementioned Mezcal old-fashioned. Both wonderful. Our server Natalie was cheerful and attentive. Thanks Natalie! The guacamole, although it looked like a small portion, was really quite generous. Perhaps it’s the bowl they served it in. And the chips and salsa were generous and fresh and flowing. The fried yuca was not stringy. Sometimes it can be a bit stringy and hard. Not so here. My husband’s Carnitas, although again, initially looked like a small portion, really was chock-full of tasty meat. He brought home leftovers. Maybe it’s the bowls/plates that they are using that make it look like a small portion? I had the tacos camarón and the tacos pibil. We cook pibil at home. This was a wonderful interpretation. So what are my complaints? 1. They really should have some sort of soda water from the bar tap, like a bar soda water gun. Instead we had a topo Chico, and it was $4.50, which was fairly expensive, especially knowing how much they cost in other countries! 2. They should have someone at the front of House speaking Spanish. It would be nice to be greeted by somebody who spoke Spanish when I was speaking Spanish asking for a table. Everything else is so authentic, that I was hoping there would be a few Spanish speakers for me. But it’s OK. Just something to consider in the future. But absolutely adding some fresh accessible free seltzer water would be important.

I was not expecting to have good Mexican food in Columbia, SC but this place surprised me! The food was great. The service was superb and the ambiance is top notch. Make sure to ask for the spicy habanero salsa.
Adalberto S — Google review
Food was decent but portions were way too small. Ordered my first entree and ate it and had to order an additional one because I was still hungry. The second entree still was flimsy. Waiter was great and very friendly and the drinks were awesome! Just beware of parking because I parked in their lot and end up getting a $70 ticket. There were no signs posted that it was paid parking. Not worth going back to/

We tried to make a reservation in advance, but online it is only possible for parties of 10 or more. So we waited until the restaurant opened at 4 pm and called. On the phone, after asking how many we were and what time we would like to come, we said four people at 6:30 pm. The answer was just come by, it is fine, we are not too busy today. Luckily, we arrived at 6 pm, because when we got there they told us there was only one table left, otherwise it would be a 30 minute wait. When we asked why reservations are not possible in general, they explained it is because of too many cancellations. Other restaurants deal with that as well and still make it work. You could always reserve part of the dining room and keep some tables for walk ins, and then release the tables if someone does not show up. Hard to understand. Our server Gonzalo was absolutely fantastic, super helpful, friendly, and always smiling. Thank you! As for the food, I had the milanesa and was really disappointed. There was no seasoning, way more breading than meat, and the whole thing was dry and flavorless. I even ordered guacamole just to dip the meat in so I could eat it. The arugula salad also came with cilantro, which was not listed on the menu. That should definitely be mentioned, because for people like me cilantro tastes like soap and it ruined the dish. We told Gonzalo and he immediately brought us a new one without cilantro. Thanks again Gonzalo. We also had quesadillas. They were okay but nothing special. It is important to know that here they are made with taco shells. The combination of ingredients was unusual, and I would have preferred the cheese and meat together inside the shell. In our case, the cheese was only at the bottom and the meat was on top, so there was never really the taste of cheese and meat combined in one bite. Parking is tricky too, but that is not the restaurant’s fault. Just a heads up for anyone reading this, the lot right next door requires payment even on weekends after 6 pm, otherwise you will get a 70 dollar ticket. Bottom line, the atmosphere is great, service is outstanding, but the kitchen needs to step it up, at least when it comes to my dishes. I have heard the poblano is excellent, even the table next to us said so, so maybe we will give it another try and order something different next time.

It was just me having dinner, Gaby the bartender was amazing with her recommendations of food and drinks !! It was a full Monday and everyone who walked in kept saying how this was their favorite place everytime they come! And I confirm it was sooooo delicious! I had the poblano relleno and gaby recommend I had it with steak ans a side of rice and omg! Loved it !!!

Chicken wings restaurant
Nestled on Devine Street, Publick House has been a beloved local hangout for nearly three decades. This vibrant pub boasts an inviting atmosphere filled with colorful decor and a menu that satisfies hearty appetites. Known especially for its mouthwatering hot wings, which are fried to perfection and sauced over an open flame, it also offers a variety of buffalo wing flavors alongside burgers, salads, and pasta.
We visited Publick House the first time last night with my husband and kids, and it was such a great experience! The atmosphere was laid-back and cozy, and the service was wonderful. Aisha, our waitress, was absolutely amazing—so hospitable and attentive. She made us feel right at home and took excellent care of us. The wings were amazing and just what we were looking for. Overall, we really appreciated the warm hospitality, great service, and delicious food. We’ll definitely be coming back soon!

Publick House is a really cool restaurant, the ambiance is very old-school cool, and the service is usually pretty good as well. Although I don't personally eat wings, this is my friends' and family's go-to place for the best wings in Columbia. I mainly get the mozzarella sticks, chicken tenders, and fries, which are for the most part above average, although a little hot-or-miss. They have a great selection of beers, and their hand-made liquor drinks are always fresh and well-made. I have noticed however that their non-alcoholic beverages such as lemonade and soda are often watered down and not the greatest. All-in-all, Publick House is an above-average restaurant, and one that I would definitely recommend to others and will keep coming back to.

Very good food and drinks, couldn't eat all of my food due to my daughter having my granddaughter. Plan on coming back and getting her one ( prime rib dinner) and get another one myself before I head back to NY, Big👍👍... Hopefully, they are serving prime rib....
Christopher H — Google review
The service was great, the food was pub fair with no flair. It looked tasty but only the chicken wings had something going for it. The Chicken Salad melt created chewy chicken pieces and what they call raw fries are potatoes chips but they were undercooked and not very crispy. The fish sandwich did not have the same beer batter as the fish and chips and that would have made all the difference. There are pools tables to enjoy and a nice bar for a drink. But I would not come just for the food.
S G — Google review
The customer service for this place is lacking, in my opinion. We ordered chicken noodle soup, and it didn't have any chicken. It honestly appeared like vegetable soup. We asked the waiter, and he came back and said, "Well, we make our stock. It's not can like you are used to." Which to myself is very rude because the extra commentary wasn't needed. The food is subpar at best, there are so many better restaurants in my opinion. Also, we found a hair in the wings, which we do appreciate that they removed it off the tab.

New Brookland Tavern was alright. Their music is hit-or-miss and the bar is mediocre at best - I was not impressed with their selection of beers or cocktails. They do have a pretty cool alleyway where you can stop and chat with other patrons. Overall, it's an average bar and venue.

It's the oldest, longest running music venue in the Columbia area for a reason. I've been going to shows here for a long time, and thankful for the effort that goes into keeping this place alive. After having not visited in a while, I recently went to two shows here. I was happy to see the updates that had been made, and enjoyed hearing music on the new sound system. Keep up the great work NBT!

Been to a couple concerts here now. It's a great little venue. Small and intimate. There's plenty of free parking nearby. The bar serves a wide selection of local and regional beers and is priced super reasonably for a concert venue. There's a guy at a window in the outdoor area out back who also serves equally reasonably-priced food. Looking forward to attending many more great shows here over the years.

Dropped into New Brookland Tavern out in Five Points, and let me tell ya—this place is exactly what it's supposed to be: gritty, live, and raw. These cats run shows 365 days a year, from Emo Nights to local bands to touring acts—and they ain't playin' around. The bar’s modest, but strong drinks and solid beer selection keep it real. Intimate setup with vintage bar stools and old-school pool table—feels like you step back in time. No frills, no fuss—just music and soul. Crowd’s tight-knit, staff treats you like fam, and parking ain’t a nightmare considering the area. If you're hunger for some actual local music and gritty South Carolina energy, this is the spot. Just don't expect no VIP gloss—this is a true music dive, and that's why it's legendary. 5 stars for authenticity and consistent live vibes.

Bar None, a popular bar in Colatown, is a beloved establishment that caters to the late-night crowd. Originally from Nebraska, Marty Dreesen has created a casual and welcoming haven for generations of patrons. Open from happy hour until sunrise, this neighborhood bar offers an impressive selection of beers on tap and serves food into the wee hours of the morning. On certain Tuesdays, they even offer delicious smoked chicken wings that are highly regarded by customers.
The staff here is amazing and genuinely cares about patrons. Willy, Jordan, Kevin, and Tony have all proven to care about safety for women, and the atmosphere in the bar is friendly and fun. They have good drinks, amazing food, and even shuffleboard! If you want a relaxing night out with a few drinks, this is the place!
Alain K — Google review
Bar None's a cool bar, but you have to have the right mindset and expectations. There's been a few times that I've gone on a Friday or Saturday night and been disappointed, but I recently went during the week and had a great time. I asked what kind of seltzers they had, and after not being satisfied with the selection of flavors, the bartender offered to make me a comparable drink, which ended up being really good! In addition, the food is mainly just your basic bar food, but was actually really good! The chicken tenders and fries were solid, but the mozzarella sticks were great! The bartender (I wish I could remember his name) was really cool, and I was able to strike up a nice conversation with some other patrons. All-in-all, the best way to describe Bar None is that it's a great Sunday-Thursday bar, but maybe not the exciting bar you're looking for on a Friday or Saturday night. As such, would recommend!

This may sound petty, but my heart is broken :[ First time I have ever had an issue getting in, been to this place tons of times in the past. Guy checking IDs outside let all my friends in except me. All because there was a "different start of numbers on the back of the ID" that he had apparently "never seen, ever" he then asked another employee who said "I would let them in" the man still chose to deny me entry, all because I had an older ID. Never had a problem until now. A terrible night as well, i did not get to say goodbye to my 2 year coworker; before she moves to a different state. So, to the person who denied my entry. Maybe don't seek out to ruin someone's night.

Curious if you have a joseph working there. It is online saying some pretty nasty things and I would hate to think you support it. It made a tik toc stating that the manager and owner wouldnt care. Ive been told there are some in DC that are looking into things like this. They have been sent the info, guess they will find out if It works there or not. Have a blessed day -

Change is inevitable. But every so often you find something that rolls with the times but still manages to feel the same, and familiar. Bar None is that kind of bar. It's kind of exactly what you want in a local neighborhood bar. It doesn't cater to any one crowd, and even though it's in Five Points, don't think that it's a "College bar." It's just a bar. The food is good (best fried mushrooms in Columbia, actually), they have a good selection of beer including local stuff (try Hunter Gather's ESB, it's a staple), they know how to mix a decent drink and the service is prompt and friendly. The TVs are there but they're not obnoxious so it doesn't feel like a sports bar. The decor is eclectic but not like it's trying too hard. And it has a great shuffle board table. The place just feels right.

Nightcaps is a laid-back and low-key spot located near Five Points, offering a late-night atmosphere with amenities like pool tables, big-screen TVs, and comfy lounge chairs. It's known for its welcoming environment where regulars mingle and newcomers are greeted warmly. The menu includes various food options available until 1 am, with highlights such as delicious mozzarella sticks and great pizza. Visitors also praise the surprising peanut butter shot that adds to the unique experience at Nightcaps.
The greatest thing about Nightcaps is the staff. I have been to many similar spots wherein the bartenders and other staff seem as if they have no respect or value in a new patron. Nightcaps makes all feel welcome and that goes miles with me. The food is also very well prepared and sunday’s bloody mary bar is on point! The parking is easy: behind the building or on Devine Street. Lastly, there is a pool table and a couple video games ( I love “Find the Difference” )
Tonya G — Google review
Nightcaps struck me as a below-average bar. It definitely epitomizes the term "dive bar," but I don't really mean that in a good way. The inside of the restaurant was very old-fashioned, but to the point of looking gross and unkempt. The bartender wasn't exactly rude, but I had to stand at the bar for about five (5) minutes before having my order taken. What I really didn't like about Nightcaps however, was the other patrons. They were very obnoxious and rude, and struck me as being very cliquish. When I was standing at the bar waiting for my drink to be made, this lady screamed in my ear to the bartender, and became visibly upset when the bartender wouldn't drop what she was doing and immediately close her tab. In my opinion, Nightcaps tries to serve as a "classic," "relic of the past," type of bar, but kind of misses the mark. It wasn't really my vibe.

Stopped by this location on Easter Sunday, since a lot of the other locations were closed. I had the spicy teriyaki wings, which had a great flavor. I also had the egg rolls, which were amazing. The dipping sauce went very well, with the egg rolls. The customer service was great. The gentleman at the door helped with me getting a menu. The bar tender Gabe was very friendly. Definitely a great spot to pop in to grab drinks, or shoot a game of pool.

The staff make it so much fun. Such a range of patrons, but everyone gets a long so we'll and there is such a fun atmosphere. It's no fancy place, but again, if you want an enjoyable experience, head over. They also have a jukebox, pool table, and an outdoor patio with TV in the back.

me and a friend went by for a drink. needless to say we are BOTH of age though we are college students. We ordered our drink & he asked for a ID which i proceeded to pull out. while i was holding it waiting for him to come look at it, he overlooked us 5 times INTENTIONALLY. When i finally got his attention he looked at both of our IDs threw them across the counter and said “that’s fake” as he proceeded to mix our drink. We told him we had just both turned 21 in the last 6 months he continued to argue that they were fake all while cussing out another customer who was an older man. Needless to say the bar tender “Ryan” will be the reason i will NEVER go back.

Located in Columbia, The Woody on Main is a popular nightclub that offers a cozy and laid-back atmosphere. It has been a staple in the city for decades, providing diverse dance experiences for people of all ages. From salsa nights to beach and boogie tunes for shagging, as well as signature dance party nights on weekends, there's something for everyone. Additionally, it offers dinner and weekend brunch options with an overwhelming variety of food choices.
Woodys showed us an amazing time! The customer service was great (our friends had a different experience with an older female employee there) I danced from the time we walked in until we left. Good range of dance music. The food was way better than I could have expected. I recommend the shrimp and fish. We were able to substitute the coleslaw for fries. Will be back soon!

Amazing brunch! We’ve been regularly enough that I think I’ve tried it all. I recommend anything with brisket, but the beignets and pancakes are great if you’re in a sweets mood. The pineapple mimosa is a must-have. Reservations usually required for drag brunch, it fills up fast!

I was there on Saturday night and the bar was very busy. I noticed the crowd was a bit unruly but the bartenders were handling the rude obnoxious crowd with patience and professionalism. I was impressed with the entire staff but I’d recommend a different type of music bring it back to the old woody style. Love the bar but the crowd & music style brings in a rowdy entitled crowd.

The Sunday drag show today was outstanding! We had a great time, the food was awesome, and the service was exceptional! I can't wait for the next show!

I love The Woody. The staff and owners are awesome folks. The revamped breakfast menu is delicious. I had an omelette last weekend and it was delicious. Weekends at The Woody are great dance parties and the monthly drag brunch is a blast. Get the Woody Wienie with chilli and slaw and thank me later. They've recently added a meat and three lunch special which is outstanding. I've had the pork chop as well as the meatloaf. They were equally delicious.

We there on a sat night and one of the bartenders was rude and she threw my check at me! It was a loud atmosphere and I was trying to tell her what I wanted and she said “CALM DOWN”. I ordered 5 drinks, she only got 3 and tried to cash me out and I told her I had 2 more drinks. After I got all my drinks she threw the check! I ask to speak to a manager. Which I knew nothing was going to be said, the manager said she would speak to her. Apparently they was short staffed and was getting yelled at all night. You don’t throw a check at a customer bc you thought I was being nasty! I work with patients and get yelled at but do I get nasty with them or throw things at them no. That bartender needs to be trained for customer service! I’m giving this place business with my money and you want to throw my check at me…

Bar
Pinch in Columbia, SC has been highly recommended by Terry Davis, the owner of South Carolina Film Institute. He visited numerous bars, clubs, and restaurants in the area and rated Pinch with 5 out of 5 beers. According to him, the best days to visit are Wednesday for Bingo night and Saturday. The bar offers beautiful women and $1 drinks which make it a great spot for a good time.
Kelsi has done such a great job making Pinch what it is today. Best bar in Five Points!
Jeff S — Google review
Pinch is fun, but there is a bartender there who put a bad taste in my mouth... I believe her name is Meredith. I've never been sobered up so quickly. I ordered a vanilla & coke, and she didn't know what that was so I told her what it was. Got my drink and paid the bill but didn't tip (because I wait until the end of the night). I accidentally spilled the drink and went to order another. Meredith tells me "okay, if you're not going to tip me, I'm not making you another drink." I've waited tables and gotten snubbed on bills that were $70 so I get the frustration, but she was picking a fight over a $1 tip (the drink was $5). She continued to educate me on how bartenders "only make money from their tips," but I had already known that information. With a bar filled with people I doubt my measly $1 would have made a difference, but Meredith was on a mission I guess. I guess "hospitality" doesn't apply to college students. The other bartenders are fabulous and know their drink knowledge. They are the ones that made me like pinch again.
Maddison B — Google review
This place is Awful. For starters it's too cramped, but that's not why I loathe this place. I had been going to Pinch every now and then. I usually like bar hopping in 5 Points. I go to the place, mind my own business, listening to the music, but mostly on my phone. Then randomly a girl approached me close to closing time. We talked briefly, but had to leave. I came back the next day. I stood in line then one of the bouncers said that I was banned from the bar. I was confused, and demanded to know why. I had to wait and see the manager, a whole week later. I finally saw him. And he said that some girl complained about me 'creeping' around her, which is BS. I'd like to reiterate that I was on my phone for the most part, and a girl approached me. The manager blatantly pinned a false accusation on me, and said that he had to side with the girl. So call me either Johnny Depp or Jonathan Majors. This happened in October and I was still banned as far as the following March. I even got to talking with another bouncer, and he said that he saw me often and knew I wasn't the kind to cause trouble. Literally the only nice thing I can say about Pinch is that if you're a Karen, or Amber Heard, this place is right up your alley.
TC6793 — Google review
Literally the worst bar. The bouncer pick and choose who can come in and ignore the line to let their friends in. They deserve to fired. They also serve to minors. the bouncer let multiple people skip the line without ID. Isn’t that illegal?
Issy D — Google review
Kelsi Silveria, yelled that she was owner of this bar and I was not allowed in. I was walking into Lucky’s (the neighboring bar) and she told me “of course I am going to Lucky’s, it’s trashy like me”. Such a shame, because even if you remove me from the situation, the fact that an owner was talking bad about a neighboring establishment is unfortunate and not what the Five Points community is about.
Izabelle — Google review
Worker with a ponytail assaulted female patrons by grabbing them on the lower section and denief the grouping multiple times despite many witnesses. Also was confronted multiple times in a tame manner asking him to stop and didn’t…
John D — Google review
This place is absolutely ridiculous. We were denied entry because the owner doesn't know the difference between a real and a fake ID. He was extremely rude and used profanity toward us. Definitely ruined my night. I wish we would've stuck around so the police could scan our IDs.

Tyler and Jack were great bartenders! Alex made sure our experience at the bar was exceptional. Definitely recommend!

Blue Marlin is a renowned seafood restaurant located in the heart of Columbia, offering classic Southern dishes made with locally sourced and sustainable fish. Housed in a former train station, the restaurant boasts contemporary environs and a well-stocked bar serving an array of libations. Their Sunday brunch menu features a delightful fusion of Lowcountry crab cakes with Eggs Benedict and Hollandaise sauce, alongside grits and asparagus.
The Blue Marlin in Columbia, SC is an absolute gem. The crab cake entrée was perfectly seasoned and full of flavor, one of the best I’ve ever had. The Southern Candied Pecan Salad was just as impressive, fresh and balanced with just the right touch of sweetness. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a great meal. Highly recommend for anyone looking for delicious Southern-inspired seafood and a welcoming dining experience.

I had high hopes for this restaurant, but everything was just average. The ambiance was nice, but nothing stood out. The food was okay—not bad, but not memorable either. Service was fine, but lacked warmth or enthusiasm. It’s not a bad spot, but it didn’t quite live up to expectations.

The complimentary bread with butter was delicious, but the shrimp and grits was bomb. The crab cakes with rice and collard greens was delicious too. The inside had a historic and cozy feeling to it. Overall, I would return to this place whenever I'm in Columbia again.

It was a nice lunch for our large group. We had a big round table that could hold 8-10. The menu was pretty big, but we all ended up having different renditions of 3 dishes (shrimp and grits/crab cake/pasta) The service was a little slow especially since the restaurant wasn’t full. The drinks were good and the food was served in generous portions.

The she crab soup here is fantastic!! The restaurant is located in a really nice area, the atmosphere is calm and great to talk. The dessert is perfect to share. My family truly enjoy it!

We stopped in here for dinner before attending a concert and couldn't be happier with our choice! The atmosphere was so welcoming when we entered and we were so well taken care of. For drinks, I had a strawberry pineapple mule that was so refreshing and my hubby had a hard cider. A basket of warm bread & butter was brought out and was the perfect balance of crisp exterior and tender interior. For the entrées, I had fried Gulf oysters with fries and slaw. The oysters were cooked perfectly and were tender & succulent when I bit into them (left my hubby try one🦪😁). My hubby had the special of bacon wrapped filet with crab cake & green beans. The filet melted in your mouth and barely needed a knife and the crab cake was low on fillers but high on crab🦀! A fab surprise was the bowl of house made greens that our waiter brought us on the house. No kidding these were the BEST greens that were so tender with big flavor complemented by the all-day cook, hamhocks, and zip from the vinegar. For dessert, we shared a slice of the BEST, most vibrant key lime pie🤤🤤🤤

Everything taste delicious (scallops, steak, crabcakes, seasonal veggies, etc.)! The cheesecake was the star of the night - AMAZAING! The mermaid cocktail, was great - swap rum for tequila for a stronger option 😉.

Thank you Alexis M for Wonderful customer service!!! The only things I would change: is the lighting at certain times~ if it's still daylight there should be a little more lighting on the inside, I seen one customer using cell phone light to view menu; I tried getting Watermelon mocktail ordered spicy cause I seen another drink on menu mentioning with jalapeños for spicy, well what I received looked good but it taste like pickle juice with watermelon instead of spicy watermelon...Lexi tried for bartender to correct and wasn't informed until after 2nd fail attempt that for spicy comes with alcohol and only have pickled jalapeños to make non-alcoholic attempt for spicy fruity beverage; the other thing I like my crust to stay on my fish when fried- I had the Blue Marlin seafood platter and my flounder was flaking everywhere so some bites was just crust; Lastly a bit disappointed at the mash potatoes tasting instant, no flavor. Otherwise, enjoyed the crab cake, shrimp, mix vegetable medley, and the creme brulee cheesecake 😋 👌🏾 😀

Everything about Pearlz was amazing! Our server was so sweet and kind. Her customer service skills were great. The manager even came to see how our experience was. This place is a 10 out of 10. The food was delicious and the portion side was just right. I highly suggest you try Pearlz Oyster Bar!!

Came here with my family for my sister's birthday. I will say that if you can find street parking, please do it. The nearest paid parking lot was a rip off. lol. Our waitress was amazing. She provided amazing service and we appreciated that. The food was decent but the prices weren't fitting. If the prices weren't up there and the food was more flavorful, I would've given it a higher rating. Kinda borderline over rated because we've had way better food at Red Lobster but whatever. My sister enjoyed her food, and we were given great service so that's what matters to me. If you decide to try them out,

Stopped in while in town on a work trip. The oysters were great and they provided great fixings for them with crackers. Cocktail sauce with extra fresh horseradish to the hot sauces and mignonette sauce. I had also ordered some corn fritters those were just ok. But I definitely recommend the oysters. This place was a nice short walk from my hotel that was on Lady St.

Horrible experience. Waitress not trained, manager not present most of night. Homeless person stayed in restroom 30 so minutes, took bird bath in restroom …. manager said they need some place to go, it’s cold out ( 65 degrees ) so we let them use the facilities. I agree with helping and being compassionate but there is a shelter nearby. To spend $230 on dinner and to worry about safety and cleanliness while using restroom was not ideal. I asked my 80 year old mom to hold it until we drove home. Very sorry about number of homeless people but I didn’t think that would be a concern while dining at Pearls. We won’t be back. Very unfortunate the manager cared more about the non paying guests. This kind of mismanagement hurts a good business. This was at 8:00 pm during dinner not odd hours. Still can’t believe that manager cared less about paying customer. Save your money and go where you are appreciated, where managers are present and trained. Tried to leave private message for restaurant hospitality group but they don’t share their address or emails so no choice but to share experience here.

Our waitress was extraordinary! I left her a good tip! But that food is unseasoned and horrible , and the servings aren’t worth the price! The restaurant was a great atmosphere to be in, with wonderful waitresses, but again that food is NOT the main attraction and i was very disappointed

Saluda's Restaurant is an upscale dining spot located in the heart of Five Points, offering reimagined Southern classics in an elegant setting. The restaurant features white-linen tables, an antique mahogany bar, and a 1915 grand piano, creating a sophisticated atmosphere.
We sat at the bar, as we were too late trying to get in on a Sat night. It's easy to see why this establishment draws a crowd. The good was really good. We had the menu option for $55 00. We chose the same except for the starter. I had the crab cake an my husband had the Greek fried tomatoes. 😋 Both really good. We had a fish kind of Bisque....oh my word it was fantastic. Then the lamb shank. It was a huge shank. I think it would have been a great idea for the chef to figure out a really small desert that would keep them within their cost frame. And I mean small. Just one biter. All in all this place is a win. We had very very good service from the 2 bartenders.

I do a bit of research on local restaurants and chains, before I take flight and I've got to say, this restaurant was/is amazing! In all the years I’ve been living here I’ve never been to this restaurant and man have I been missing out. This place is absolutely amazing. Beautiful inside with a gorgeous elevated porch. Food was outstanding. I think I could have made a meal on the Mac and cheeses on my wife’s plate. Steak was cooked perfectly with an excellent char. I highly recommend coming here.

My husband and I’s first time here and it was exceptional. From who we spoke to calling for a “last minute” reservation, to the service, to the food. Our server Parker was fantastic. Was awesome with great recommendations when asked. We got the trio appetizer. Fried oysters, lump crab cake, and shrimp cocktail. Everything we ate here had incredible flavor and seasoned to perfection. Compliments to the chef. Entrees were scallops and pork chop. Easily the best pork chop my husband and I both have ever had. Finished off with the crème brûlée. We will definitely be back again and making recommendations to friends and family.

Food The peach cobbler with ice cream was DELICIOUS. The flavor of the savory foods were muted. I can taste the seasonings and spices, they just seem muted. It didn't take very long to be prepared and presented to us. So we didn't wait a long time to be served food. I got the sirloin steak but had a different side. I had the rice with beans with the steak. The rice was too wet. The beans were good but tasted like canned beans to me. The steak was a little dry and not flavourful enough. The wind selection was very nice. Service I visited on a Tuesday night at 8 pm. I had a reservation. We were seated promptly. Our waiter was attentive. Atmosphere I liked the table decor. The lighting was warm and inviting. But the music was too loud for an intimate experience on the inside. Patrons spoke louder than conversational level to compensate. This caused an overall loud environment. I chose patio seating. It was more quiet and intimate. But It was hot and muggy. Several large ceiling fans helped to prevent overheating. I was told by a coworker that you would be able to see the city lights. The building isn't tall enough for that. Your back drop is a large tree with stringed lights over a water fountain. You overlook a busy 4 way intersection with a traffic light. City folk loudly held personal convos as they walked by, people were leaving work, people were drunk and stumbling (1-2 people). This took away from a romantic atmosphere, which is what I expected. Overall I wanted an intimate dinner with my husband for our anniversary. I got most of what I wanted.

I like the atmosphere (Monday between 2pm-3pm). Relaxed. The service was awesome, as well as the food. The prices are reasonable. I had the Creamy Chicken and Shrimp. Even though they forgot to add my Shrimp, but ended up bringing it out, the dish was delicious. The chicken was juicy and well seasoned. The veggies (zucchini, squash and broccoli) were cooked and seasoned very well. Great place to dine solo or with others

I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by my visit to Carolina Ale House. To be honest, I was kind of expecting a knockoff version of a chain restaurant like Applebee's, Chili's, or maybe even Buffalo Wild Wings; however, to my surprise and delight, Carolina Ale House was a great experience. When I walked in, I was pleased to see Gamecock memorabilia (Go Cocks) plastering the entrance, as well as some other localized signs and vintage pictures. (Unfortunately, they did have some Clemson gear, much to my chagrin. Lol.) The bar area was cool, and I loved how they had silly little quotes etched into the bar table. They had a great selection of IPAs, as well as some nice happy hour specials. I went to the outside patio for my 2nd drink, which was awesome in the fall time. Both of the bartenders I interacted with were sweethearts, and really knew their brews! All-in-all, Carolina Ale House was a surprisingly good experience, and I'll assuredly be back in the future.

I sat at the bar for a meal and a very nice man named Coleman served me. I was traveling and stopped in for a quick bite. I am Diabetic and my blood sugar was low and I was lightheaded. He quickly gave me some juice to bring my sugar level up. I asked for suggestions on a meal with protein and he was very helpful and I had the most delicious Chicken Caesar Salad I have ever had. This gentleman went out of his way checking to make sure that I was feeling okay and made me feel comfortable sitting at the bar even though I did not have any alcohol because of being diabetic and just needed to sit and eat. Service was superb, quality of food was great along with the speed that I was served. He even made sure that I had a cup of Soda pop with sugar to take with me for the rest of my ride. He should be commended for his hospitality and attentiveness to not only me but all of the other customers he was helping . I will be sure to stop back in my way home and hope he is there for me to thank him again. I will definite be back to your restaurant again with employees like him there. First time here. About 12-15 beers on tap. Tried the 2 complex beers (Milkshake IPA and Peaches/Cream Gose) and they stood out. Ordered Pub Pretzel and was delivered cold. Pretzel was large, but cheese to dip was very small. Mustard was really good. Pretzel seemed like frozen tasteless dough. Indoor/outdoor seating. Took awhile to get a waitress outside. When she did show up, she was very helpful and did get us a hot pretzel. Might give another try, but not in a hurry.

This place was suggested by my cousin (who is new in town but saw the reviews and really wanted to try it) we were there (SC) for our sons Basic Training graduation! We had 11 ppl, called for reservation, they said unless its over 20ppl, we didnt need one for 12noon on a wednesday.? We asked if it got super packed during Family Day/graduation? Said nope, that they normally stay closer to the base. I am telling you, its about 20-30min away from Ft.Jackson, take you family or new Soldier there for a treat!! It is a small establishment But the they were right, only like 2 or 3 ppl there when we arrived. The waiter, sweet guy with BRIGHT BLUE eyes, welcomed us, took all our orders. Now it is Mexican/Asian Fusion Food. My husband wanted to try the tacos--nice selection, but he wasnt sure what to get, so he asked the waiter to select HIS 5 favorite tacos for him to try!! Every one of them were great! My DIL ordered a Crab Salad Poki Bowl, another ordered birria tacos, korean hotchicken bao buns, and pork barbacoa bao buns!!! I tried a bite and omg! Whoever thought of this fusion...awesomeness! For appetizer we had chips trio (homemade chips with queso, Guacamole, and warm salsa) i had a Short rib bowl (had Latin rice (im particular about my rice, Puerto Rican, and THIS RICE..had all kinds of spice, top notch! And it was all topped with a fried egg! And I had a side of ripe plantains with some spicy sauce drizzled on top. Man oh man. Everything was so perfectly FUSED together...oh and that wasnt even my original order! I wanted the Chicken & Puffles!! But they were all out! Listen to this...thai marinated fried chicken thigh Hong Kong Uber inspired bubble waffle with chili oil drizzle, spicy maple syrup, and Jalapeño butter medallion topped with green onions and served with side of kimchi and plantains! Be still my heart!! If anyone gets this, please let me know if its as good as it sounds...Hopefully my cousin will call me as she is eating it so I can see it! The only part that was alittle sad was when my cousins husband realized that his birria tacos was (shredded pork) any other time they got birria it was shredded beef! It was on the menu bright as day--but was skimmed over by my cousin on accident. He can't eat pork (medical reason) he had already taken 1 bite and daughter told him she thinks its pork..and it was. Nothing bad happened, later probably, but I think it was that it was SO GOOD, and now he couldn't continue eating it! So he was sad!! Other then THAT..everyone LOVED their food, and you know what...I reheated mine in the hotel that night...and it was even better!!! Absurdly phenomenal! Thank you to the chef, and the bright blue eyed waiter who was so kind to all of us!!

We came to celebrate my daughter's birthday. The food was served hot and fast. Nice clean environment. Our server was Drayton. She was excellent. She was very attentive and thoughtful. She knew the menu well and was able to give nice suggestions. I asked for cucumber in my water which is a unusual ask. She stated she will make it happen 😊. She made our dinner a wonderful experience. Thanks Drayton🎉

It's been about 6 months since I have eaten at Publico, but I was walking around 5 Points yesterday and decided to stop in. Was I ever glad that I did!!! I was so excited to see my favorite bartender, Kelsey! I wasn't sure where she was working now that Boku has closed for a bit. What a wonderful surprise. Kelsey remembered off the bat that I don't drink, so she mixed me up a virgin Raspberry Paloma. It's the small things like that that make up great service. The special was a coconut curry tofu ramen, but I opted for the tried-and-true Publico burger. As always, it was just plain great. I've never had an issue at Publico (food- or service-wise), and now that y'all scored Kelsey behind the bar, I know exactly where to go when I am in 5 Points.

My co workers decided on this place for the first time, for our monthly get together. We chose several appetizer's, and a few drinks. The sticky ribs, were our favorite. Several of the other items didn't meet our expectations. The Nacho Fries didn't have any queso, and the Crab Ragoon was cold. Our waitress was exceptional, and met all of our needs! The atmosphere was awesome for a Thursday, especially with the music bingo!

Sushi restaurant
Tsunami Sushi Restaurant is a vibrant local chain that offers an enticing blend of sushi and Pan-Asian dishes, all served in a chic and contemporary setting. With its stylish decor featuring pendant lighting and original artwork, the ambiance is both inviting and modern. While sushi takes center stage, diners can also indulge in a variety of cooked options like teppanyaki steak, shrimp, chicken, tempura vegetables, or hearty udon noodle bowls.
Expansive location with lots of seating in a darkened relaxed environment. Free parking lot in front but can be difficult to park there during busy seasons. Went specifically for sushi and there were lots of options to choose from with detailed explanations of what the rolls consisted of. Presentation was lovely. Waiter was very friendly but there is a wait to have your order taken then another longer wait before your food arrives. Wish there was a spicy salmon roll option that isn’t fried. The rolls were delicious and very filling! Would definitely come back for the sushi!

The food is amazing! We ordered the meat trio, tempura vegetables and shrimp, spicy teriyaki chicken, volcano roll, and dynamite roll. Everything, I mean, EVERYTHING was delicious! The atmosphere is great and classy vibes! Our waitress was amazing and attentive but not pushy or overbearing, great place to sit and have conversation with out distractions!

First time here, I had been wanting some hibachi for about 2 wks..I saw that they offered Happy Hour food and certain drinks from 4 pm to 7 pm, so I figured I would try them out.. Once I was seated, a nice lady took my order. I ordered a drink and let me tell you my food was ready so fast it scared me. Lol, all jokes aside 🤣 I will definitely come back. I gave the food 4 stars because I did not like the fried vanilla dessert.. Other than that, everything was amazing!

We love it here—it’s become our new weekly date night spot! They have an awesome sushi selection and great prices during happy hour. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. They also offer delicious non-sushi options for anyone who doesn’t eat fish. And their fried ice cream is an absolute MUST-try—so good! Highly recommend!

I’ve visited Tsuanmi many times over the years and it has always been a good restaurant in the Columbia area. Today I tried the Chefs chicken as well as having the Playboy roll. The Chefs chicken was alright but it was supposed to be deep fried so I was expecting crunchy/crispy chicken, but it wasn’t, it was still fine. The portion size on it was huge and very filling so I will put that as a plus. The sushi here is great and the playboy roll which is my go to roll, was great as usual. It’s a large enough roll to be filling for the average person. The restaurant is spacious and lively, the seating is plentiful and spread far enough apart to feel comfortable.

As a returning customer who once praised this establishment for its food, I’m left stunned at how catastrophically they failed me—not just in service, but in basic human decency. After a brutal 12-hour shift—one of many burdens I carry lately—I did what most hardworking people do: I sought a moment of comfort in a familiar meal. Instead, what I received was a disrespectful, disorganized, and emotionally exhausting experience that unraveled what little peace I had left in my day. I called ahead around 9:45 PM, well before their posted closing time of 10:00. Not only was I met with no courtesy, I was abruptly told, “we’re not taking any more orders,” and then hung up on. No explanation. No apology. No mention of a phone order cutoff—and certainly nothing about this arbitrary rule listed on their website or anywhere else. Just pure indifference. But rather than retaliate, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I got in my car, burned my gas, and drove there in person—hoping to still get a warm meal. That choice, in hindsight, felt like walking willingly into disrespect. I waited another 30 minutes inside, exhausted, hungry, trying to salvage a night that was already falling apart. And for what? A meal so carelessly assembled it felt like an insult. I explicitly asked for no vegetables—a simple, reasonable request. Instead, I was handed fried rice absolutely flooded with onions, mushrooms, and worst of all: broccoli, my most hated food on this earth. I had to sit there, picking through the mess like I was doing surgery on my own dinner, still tasting the vegetables in every bite. It was disgusting, and I say that without exaggeration. And let’s be clear—this isn’t just about bad service. This is about psychological erosion. When you're exhausted, hungry, and barely keeping things together, even a small act of negligence can feel like betrayal. The disrespect, the confusion, the wait, and finally the inedible result? That’s not a bad night—that’s a complete emotional failure of customer care. It speaks volumes when an establishment prioritizes closing up shop over serving the very people who keep them in business. If your staff is so eager to leave that they can’t handle basic service or honor clear requests, maybe it’s time they reconsider the industry they’re in. Hospitality isn’t optional—it’s the foundation. And in this economy? Where money is tighter than ever, and people are working longer hours just to make ends meet? I wasted my hard-earned dollars on a meal I couldn’t even finish. That’s not just inconvenient—it’s infuriating. There was no ownership, no fix, no gesture of professionalism. Just a complete failure to deliver on every level. And the worst part? I’m not some first-time customer—I came in trusting them, expecting the same quality and care I once praised. What I got was the exact opposite—and it left a lasting impression, for all the wrong reasons. Bottom line: Their food being “good sometimes” is no longer enough to justify this level of chaos and carelessness. Businesses don’t thrive on food alone—they thrive on respect, consistency, and honoring the time, money, and dignity of the people who support them. And this place failed at all three.

Service could have been better, food was pretty good. Had the chicken and shrimp hibachi but the chicken wasn't great fatty and chewy. Waiter didn't come around very much. The guy bussing the tables brought us drinks to go because our waiter disappeared. Sushi would probably be the better choice.

The Grand on Main is a vibrant and spacious venue that used to be an Army/Navy store, now transformed into a grand entertainment space. It features an elegant dining area, a classy bar, and a lounge with games like Jenga. The highlight is the boutique bowling alley at the back. This historic establishment was once a bustling Vaudeville House & Theatre and has preserved its original charm while offering an upscale casual dining experience.
This was a cool spot. Think cozy lounge meets old school bowling alley. It's best to reserve well in advance before the day you want to go. When we went, 3 or 4 of the 7 lanes were out of order, and the rest were already booked up, so we were out of luck. We still stayed and ended up having a delicious meal, so it was worth the trip there. The shrimp and grits was yum yum yummy!

The Grand on Main Street isn't just a place to grab a bite or a drink; it's a consistently great experience. What truly sets it apart is that the food is always good. Seriously, every dish I've tried has been delicious and well-prepared. But beyond the satisfying meals, the staff at The Grand are exceptional. They're attentive, friendly, and genuinely seem to enjoy what they do, which creates such a welcoming atmosphere. Speaking of atmosphere, my last visit was particularly memorable. There was a Hennessy special happening, and the representatives there were fantastic! They were so nice and fun to chat with, adding an extra layer of energy to the evening. It was one of those nights that reminded me that the difference between just going to a bar and having a truly good experience often comes down to the people. In this case, a huge thank you goes to Jessica and Chan. Their attentiveness and positive energy really elevated the whole evening. They exemplify the kind of service that makes The Grand a standout spot. They have the indescribable X factor quality that just makes one a winner. Thank you Jessica and Chan!

A fun local spot in the Downtown Columbia area. I’ve enjoyed coming here in the past for group birthday events or just to grab lunch with a friend after exploring the weekend Soda City vendor market. You can also find some gluten-free and dairy free options on the menu. Our server Jessica J was wonderful; kind, well educated on the menu and an all around lovely human. She definitely deserves a raise!

The manager was an absolute jerk. The two bartenders behind the bar were laughing about how he had no idea what he was doing. I’d had a rough day and decided to try somewhere new. The hostesses were sweet and honest about the menu, so I gave it a shot. The place was surprisingly big — turns out it’s a bowling alley — but pretty dirty and worn down, especially in daylight. My waitress and the hostess were both lovely. I ordered the $42 blackened ribeye with loaded mashed potatoes. The sides were phenomenal, but the steak was awful — thin, gristly, overcooked, and barely edible. I quietly told my waitress that everything else was great but the steak was terrible. I specifically said, “Please don’t mention it to your manager because I don’t want him to take it off my bill. I just want you to tell the chef later, quietly. Sometimes things get missed when it’s busy, and I don’t want him getting in trouble — I’ll still eat it or my husband will.” Instead, she told the manager right away as I’m sure she didn’t want him upset. He didn’t realize I was sitting nearby and said loudly, “All you can do is say sorry and get over it.” When he saw me, he just shrugged. Later, he came over with a fake apology — “I think we overcooked your steak a little” — and I told him I’d already heard his response and that my only issue was how he treated both his staff and his customers. In short — great waitress, sweet hostess, good sides, awful steak, and a completely unprofessional manager. I apologized the girls as I left the restaurant for their rude ah manager and they said oh we get it. Which told me they’ve dealt with him before. He seemed overwhelmed. Someone needs a demotion and to be retrained.

My girlfriend and I flew down from Boston to visit family, and we were told to try out The Grand. We went the other night, and were highly impressed! The food was fantastic, the restaurant is beautiful, and although it was not an issue for us I do want to point out that on busy nights it seems like it gets pretty loud and rowdy, so if that isn’t your thing, you’ve been warned. I have to give a special shoutout to our server, Tori. From the moment we were seated, she was warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. She had excellent recommendations and took the time to answer all our questions with full honesty and transparency. What really stood out was her perfect balance of professionalism and personality, she checked in on us often enough to make sure we had everything we needed, but never felt overbearing. Our drinks were always full, our food came out perfectly timed, and she was always cracking jokes and making us laugh! She truly was a shining star. Great food can bring you in, but service like hers is what makes you want to come back again and again. As a manager at a restaurant back up North, she’s the kind of server every restaurant dreams of having! If we ever find ourselves down South again, we will definitely be coming back. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone reading this review!

I’ve always had a wonderful time here so when I wanted to have my birthday here it was a no brainer. Everything was perfect, every time I called them they answered the phone. I felt like I was able to have great communication with the hostess and they were always so so friendly when I called. The service was wonderful and accommodating, and I was able to bring my cake and light my candles inside. The brunch food was great! I got the breakfast scrambler and omg so delicious, and the mimosa flights were so good. Prices are very reasonable and the experience I had I would recommend anyone to have their birthday there. Thank you to the restaurant staff - you guys are great!

The presentation of the food was appealing, though unfortunately, the taste did not fully match the appearance. The macaroni and cheese lacked flavor and was served only lukewarm. The ribs were not as tender as expected; I actually took them home and finished them in the oven to achieve a better texture. On a positive note, the collard greens were absolutely delicious and perfectly seasoned. The wait staff was polite, attentive, and courteous throughout the meal, which I truly appreciated. While the décor was attractive, the overall atmosphere was diminished by a strong, lingering aroma of raw garlic. Although I enjoy cooking with garlic, the scent was overpowering and somewhat unpleasant in a dining environment.

Smoked is a new upscale dining concept by Scott Middleton, located on Main Street in Columbia. The restaurant offers a luxurious ambiance in a restored historic setting and features prime meats, locally sourced produce, fresh seafood, and hand-crafted cocktails. Executive Chef Michael Ellis has curated a menu that includes seafood towers with West Coast and East Coast variations, ribeye steak flights, lamb, pork, and chicken dishes.
We enjoyed the scallops, Wagyu, and lemon parmesan charbroiled oysters. The smoked lamb ribs were tender, but we could not tast the lamb flavor. Carson was a great server. The atmosphere is beautiful.

A unique, upscale place with ample seating and event space. We came with a large group which they did an excellent job accommodating at the last minute (thanks Brianna). The outdoor event space allows for guests to converse and eat/drink in a relaxed environment. The bar space inside is massive and they have a special oyster bar as well. Would love to come back and try the regular menu!

Johnny the bartender was awesome! Gave me some really neat info on Columbia and happenings around the city. Makes an excellent French 75. Most restaurants aren’t open past 2:30 in the city and don’t open until 4 pm for dinner service - but smoked has a limited menu and comes in handy if you are having a late lunch! -Also, their events are always top notch. NYE party was incredible!

Casey was our server Wednesday night. There were 4 of us celebrating our daughters Masters Degree. Casey was delightful. Bar service was slow and Casey worked hard to get our cocktails quickly. The food at Smoked is outstanding. We had a variety of oysters, Tuna Tartar, filet, scallops, and flat iron steak. The mushroom risotto was sublime. We can’t wait to return.

Stopped by August 7th during First Thursday on Main. I was disappointed to be perfectly honest with you. Poor and slow service. The bread we ordered tasted exactly like those Hawaiian rolls from the supermarket but with plain flavorless whipped butter. At least they could have added a bit of honey to the butter. Smh. It took forever to get our food and the place wasn't packed. The waitress wasn't doing her job. We hardly saw her. As for the meal when we finally got it... Well it was ok. If you would swap the meats on each plate you will have a hit. The herb marinated half chicken would be slammin with the sides and wine reduction sauce that came along with the American Wagyu steak dinner and vice versa. The menu needs an upgraded. Nice atmosphere though. Not sure if I would be coming back anytime soon.

Salty Nut Cafe is a popular spot in the Five Points area of Columbia, offering a relaxed atmosphere and a diverse menu. It's known for its great selection of brews and delicious food, including corn dogs, burgers, boiled shrimp platters, and legendary tater tots. This neighborhood bar and grill has been a favorite among students, families, and late-night crowds for years. The unique combination of classic comfort food and inviting ambiance makes it stand out as a cherished local institution.
Went here for lunch and the food came out quickly. The club sandwich was massive and absolutely delicious. The tater tots were fried perfectly and tasted even more delicious with the homemade ranch. Ended up spending $12 for the club and tots, which I think is a great price for the portions you get. Definitely coming back!

I was highly disappointed in the treatment. I came to visit this establishment to take my son for his first drink for his 21st birthday today. I am not one to play the race card but my son and I sat down in a booth and my son asked the young lady (brunette) for a place to charge his phone. We sat there patiently waiting on a server. A young man walked past us and took a table outside. I said nothing and continued to wait. It’s now about 10 minutes and two other staff members sat down and started talking, no one said a word to us. Every single table was taken care of and no one came to our table, said hello, absolutely nothing. Everyone continued to walk around as if we weren’t there. I finally asked the young lady after about 15 minutes, if anyone was working. She said she asked if we needed a server and we said no. That was a lie. She never asked and we definitely didn’t say no because I looked into places all day that I could take my son for his birthday. Ultimately we chose to leave. I work in customer service, so I am always polite when I’m out. I think if EVERYONE was greeted by EVERY staff member things like this wouldn’t occur. I definitely felt unwelcome and I won’t return

Loved this bar. Have to say, we chose to go here because of the appearance and the free parking. There is a back deck, the side deck and a front deck. We went inside and sat at the back bar. Now, I love a good bar and this place I loved. Andrew was the perfect bartender, very attentive, personable, knowledgeable. Food was great, prices very reasonable, atmosphere dive-ish. Lots of good draft beers, good selection of liquor. The best thing, however, was the clientele. I loved the diversity. 20 somethings to 80 somethings, black and white. Everyone having a great time and enjoying being there. I don't live in Columbia but if I did this might be my favorite place. Thoroughly enjoyed.

This place is not upscale or quiet at all--it's a college bar and grill--but they always have good food. Service varies, but isn't bad, usually. Their chicken tenders are huge, delicious, and come out painfully hot--watch your fingers. The burgers are good, too. For a side, it's hard to beat their tater tots smothered in melted pimento cheese.

Nestled in the heart of Columbia, The Cock N' Bull Pub offers a cozy British-style atmosphere that feels like a home away from home. This charming pub is perfect for those who appreciate both domestic and imported draft beers while enjoying classic comfort food. With multiple screens showcasing soccer matches, it’s an ideal spot for sports enthusiasts looking to catch their favorite teams in action.
Nice quaint British Pub. Good service. We got the Fish & Chips, nice and fresh!

I guess the catch here is drinks and sports because the food is sub par to say the least. The worst fish and chips I've ever had, and we won't even start on the Scottish nachos. The gravy on the poutine was good but I just threw the rest of my $50 meal in the trash Update: The owner replied and stated they would have refunded the meal, but left no contact info.

I was verbally & physically assaulted by a female bartender at this bar. I tried to write a very detailed review of the encounter, w/ photos of assault itself, which was against policy. I hope this one will be ok. I had a fine time sitting at the bar & checked out. I was attempting to leave but was prevented from doing so when the female bartender began questioning me about my private conversation & then started threatening to beat me up. She shoved me into a wall with her hands around my throat (I am 5’2” and 100 pounds) I was covered in bruises all down my back, arms, legs, torso, chest for over a week after this happened. This woman & her “extra large” male friend cornered me behind the main exit door & would not allow me to leave. the employee punched me in the face & the guy grabbed me aggressively by my arms & face, leaving marks for days. Even her (female) coworker (on video) tried to defend & shield me from the two of them by inserting herself between us. I have never been treated by such inappropriate, unprofessional, & violent behavior in my life at any establishment or elsewhere. The environment at this outdated & run-down pub is hostile & the food is a solid 3/10. Do not recommend unless you want to get punched in the face, grabbed by the neck, or otherwise physically assaulted by an employee on your (attempted) way out the door after you tipped over 20%. **EDITED TO RESPOND TO OWNER: If that’s what your staff told you, they’re lying. I was never asked to leave until after your bartender came around the bar & attacked me. I closed my tab, tipped her well, & my friend and I were gathering our things to leave when an older woman - appearing to be one of these dedicated regulars- beside us made a rude comment that she was ready for us to go so she didn’t have to hear us “yak yak yaking.” Your video should show the hand gestures she made. I calmly told her that was an unnecessary & unkind comment to make since we were clearly leaving. Then your bartender asked what I was talking about. I answered—mimicking the woman’s gestures—& suddenly bartender rushed out from behind the bar, yelling at & threatening me. I was stunned. She asked, I answered, & then SHE completely lost control. If anyone was intoxicated, it was your employee. I only wanted to leave; instead, I was physically prevented from exiting and assaulted by your staff. Does your video also show her & a heavy man—another lovely regular —following me to the exit, cornering me behind the door, and attacking me while I had no ability to get away? Or the other employee who stepped in & tried to protect me from the two of them? I had two beers—check my tab—and was completely sober. I remember every traumatizing second of this unprovoked assault. I’ve lived in this area since 2011 & have visited your bar a handful of times over the years. This wasn’t my first uncomfortable encounter with one of your “regulars.” The pattern of hostility toward anyone new or simply enjoying themselves is telling. Interestingly, other reviews mention the same. Rather than doing the right thing—acknowledging what happened & apologizing—you chose to post a public response calling me “intoxicated, confrontational, and aggressive.” That version of events is simply false. The employee you’re defending attacked a patron who was already preparing to leave. My review with still photos from my video was rejected, likely because it showed the assault itself. Your reliance on the same small circle of regulars might keep the lights on, but excusing violence & dishonesty in defense of them isn’t something to brag about. Anyone considering visiting should know that your management defends employees who physically assault customers instead of showing accountability. Consider my credibility vs the owner’s and what we each have to lose by taking the time to write this review. In short, do better, be kinder, and take responsibility. Maybe then you’ll earn genuine new customers instead of relying on the same 80 percent regulars. Good luck.

Updated review: It's been seven years since I wrote my initial review here for Cock and Bull. Since then we've been at the pub almost every Friday night for our weekly happy hour. All of the things we love about the place are still the same. The beer and food are good and the atmosphere, too. But what has kept us coming back week after week is the service, especially from our favorite; Gina. She always has our table set up and ready. She not only knows our favorite drinks, but knows US. When Gina isn't there, the food and beer is still good and the other servers are fine, but it's just not the same. So, when you go, ask for Gina. She'll take great care of you and she'll keep you coming back. A generally good casual dining/drinking destination. Above average draft beer selection that's more adventurous than most (about 15 taps). Liquor selection not as strong. As for wine, the good news is that there is some. If you are planning a visit, try to make it Friday and order the AUTHENTIC fish and chips special. Other dishes are good as well...typical bar fare. Atmosphere is literally homey...you will see.

I worked for two and a half months in SC and this was my go to place after work for an iced cold allagash and the best fish and chips in SC. Great atmosphere, great service, great food, great beer and great people. Will absolutely go back when I visit again.

Very warm and quaint place. Walking up to it you’d never expect what you find inside. Gives of a very English/Euro feel Thus expect soccer to be on the TV’s often👍🏼. Small but good menu for bar style food. Bartenders and servers are friendliest in town for sure!

Ratio is a culinary gem that stands out this year, thanks to its delightful blend of classic cuisine infused with a Peruvian twist. The restaurant boasts an impressive cocktail menu curated by bar manager Grant McCloskey, making it a perfect spot for those seeking both flavor and flair. Despite its upscale offerings, Ratio maintains a cozy neighborhood atmosphere that attracts loyal patrons who appreciate the quality dining experience.
This is the Secret Garden....Ratio looks like an ordinary place from the outside. However, the magic happens when you enter. You're greeted warmly before being escorted to your table. The atmosphere is grown and romantic. We were fortunate to have been waited on by Nadja. She knows the menu inside and out, and her joy for Ratio and the food is infectious. We started off with some perfectly made cocktails before the food experience began. Every bite was food perfection. The pairing of spices and sauces were expertly crafted. You will not stop enjoying yourself from dinner to desert. I have never cared so little for how much I was spending. I would have paid more.

The ceviche was the best item we had. The paella was good as well. The cauliflower was okay, the topping was not super flavorful and the scallops were not cooked quite right for that melt in your mouth feel. Everything was very tasty however for the price point I would have expected it all on point. Good spot if you want to nibble and drink wine, not a good place bulk season aha

My boyfriend surprised me with a date night and brought me here. Super cute local tapas/Small plate Peruvian restaurant. The ambiance was on point. We didn’t try any cocktails although they sounded delicious. It was a quiet night and Service was great! Food was so appetizing to the eye but tasted just as good. We can’t wait to go back to try everything we didn’t order the first time!

** 7/5/24 Returned for a family celebration at Ratio, enjoying the lovely outdoor patio. The food was delicious, with our favorites being the tacos de pollo, wontons, tempura squash, mussels, papas graces, and pork spare ribs. The watermelon salad was incredibly refreshing. Liz, our waitress, was attentive, insightful, and kind, making our experience even better. Highly recommend! My sister shared that the food at Ratio is fresh and delicious, and she highly recommends it. She loved the Chicken Tacos, Pan con Chicharron, Mussels, and Gochujang Wontons. Definitely worth a visit! Great for date night.

Food is so different and awesome for date night. My husband and I like high end cuisine and finally found it in Elgin. I like getting a little bit of everything but we go for the drinks. Whether you want a good cocktail or the BEST cocktail I’ve ever had you gotta try it out. Also servers/ bar tender are so nice and easy to be around. A gem.

GET HERE!!! 😯😍🥰. We went to visit @ratio based on food pics in another review but when we got here I was afraid to go in based on the lack of visual appeal of the building they are housed in. Thank GOD we went in! The #food, service and #experience are AMAZING! #ratio is a #Peruvian #tapas #restaurant and the whole package leaves nothing to be desired. First off the restaurant has great ambiance, is clean and swankphistocated, it has an upscale #NewYork appeal with zero stuffiness or arrogance. Our server Sidney was so awesome she about sealed the deal before we even browsed the menu. The food is #art on a plate but the taste has the audacity to overshadow the visual beauty of the food. Hands down the sexiest most alluring eatery in #Columbia #SouthCarolina. It definitely makes you understand how appealing living here has the potential to be. Located pretty much across the street from the highly desirable and gorgeous award winning #golf community of #Woodcreek Farms on Spears Creek Church Rd just as you get off of exit 82, this restaurant is perfectly located for constant drop ins to lose yourself in an atmosphere of pure sophisticated indulgence. All of your senses will be thrilled by the experience. The drinks are straight from the imagination of an artist crafter and you will find it hard to just have one. Or two. Or three for that matter! Try their Peruvian tequila as well as their cocktail flights. When we sat that day their special was a pork belly dish that I hope they offer often. I could eat that every day. And this is a restaurant where you really don’t want to skip on #dessert! Their dulce de leche cake is nothing short of perfection. If looking for a home in a diamond of a neighborhood here; contact me to visit my golf course newly built brick homes in a gated community in Woodcreek before they sell out and I will treat you to ratio! That’s how excited I am about this place! Trust me when I tell you, you do NOT want to skip the experience ratio has to offer. ❤️ Because google only allows 30 second video clips I will do a full review on my youtube channel @nikkicainlifestyle where you will be able to see just how amazing this experience was via time by time walkthrough. The Capital Club, located in the heart of Columbia, has been a cherished safe haven for the LGBTQ community for 37 years. This historic establishment offers a refined atmosphere with a long bar, comfortable leather sofas, and an array of captivating artwork. As part of this year's Pride festival, The Capital Club has introduced a special cocktail menu featuring delightful concoctions such as the mango coco loco, gin temptation, love punch, and lucky mule.
Wonderful, historic, private LGBQT+ club in Columbia. Matthew, the bartender, was amazing, and made great drinks, including some new favorites!! He kept my drinks filled as well as kept customers engaged and entertained during the quieter times until the evening events started. Def go see him and enjoy this bar!

I was denied service. I am 22, will be 23 in a month, never been to a bar, as I lived in a small redneck town in Maryland and did not feel safe exploring bars there, being queer and trans. A year ago, I moved to Columbia, SC for college, still a Maryland resident, with a Maryland ID. Now that I have been in the area for a while, and have made friends and peers, I was ready to finally explore local bars. Me and a few friends had planned to karaoke on Thursday, I arrived at 7ish while my friends were running late. With only 2 patrons and a bartender present, I was uncomfortable at the new situation but was ready to learn by asking questions since my friends had yet to arrive. I had wanted to start with something light as I am a small person/light weight and we would have all be there till past 9 when karaoke starts, according to the website. I had started to ask the bartender what the options are, and was openly honest that this was my first time in a bar, in hopes for guidance as this was a brand new experience for me. My mistake. Shouldn't have done that I guess. After answering a few questions about their limited options, they requested my ID. Which I gave over immediately. Now as I previously stated, I have an out-of-state ID, Maryland. My picture is me 5, five, years ago at the lovely age of seventeen, pre-transition. I look nothing like my ID, it's been a running joke at two different jobs. And I knew it would be an issue when going to a bar, which is a partial reason its taken me so long to find the confidence to get out and live and experience a bar or club. Along with my neurodivergence and social anxiety. I was told after they looked at my ID for a very long time that they did not feel comfortable serving me. I understood, thanked them and left without disputing, knowing it wouldn't be worth it. I figured a gay bar, being queer friendly and all would have understood that some patrons don't look anything like they did several years ago. I suppose that was another mistake I made. You ruined my first bar experience. I am IN FACT OVER THE AGE OF TWENTY ONE. So thanks. 0/10 service- I received none. Won't be coming back.

Very un-inviting and not at all a inclusive space. Came in to enjoy a rainy sunday afternoon in peace because sundays are one of the days they do not have loud music playing or drag shows and i heard they had closed and remodeled.. well boy was i wrong, when i came in sat down to order a drink the bartender asked me if i was there for the drag show? i asked if it was sunday and why there was a show, some sort of member only benefit show. no signs, no post on the website about a private party. very disappointing to crash a private event, i wish they had posted it. not going to try sundays again as these drag shows happen often on sundays said bartender. Walked across the street and i Am now at Art Bar enjoying a chicken sandwich and beer. The bar smelled bad, music was too loud and i am appalled by the lack of organization of events. I don't understand why folks support this messy place. unprofessional and left a bad taste

I Don't Know where to begin, This used to be Columbia's Best Gay Bar i understand why the straight bars are now winning that award instead. The Bathrooms are treacherous, covered in stains, toilets left filled with urine and feces. Covered in flies. Anytime you go to flush a toilet swarm of flies from the inside rim of the toilet will swarm out. Seriously. Expensive Beer Selection, No Corona??? Bare Minimum Happy Hour, No Specialty drinks or cocktails, just beer and liquor. Website hasn't been updated in YEARS social media often post events late or does not post at all. The drag shows are hit or miss, usually the same thing on different day. Only have a DJ on weekends and they play youtube playlist music not a real dj. the club goes quite everytime the song changes... very odd way to spend a night out in columbia... The workers looked like they were more drunk and having more fun than the patrons and customers. I had more fun when i left and went to PT's 1109
Landon C — Google review
Could use a much needed overdue update and expansion, this place would be busy if you did both.
Matthew F — Google review
This is NOT a welcoming or inclusive space for minorities other than the performers. During karaoke night, I unfortunately witnessed a patron bully a group of ethnically diverse people into getting kicked out of the club; the same patron insinuated that they deserved to be there more than the ethnically diverse group because they were regulars and spent more money. The bartenders were complicit in allowing the aggressive patron to intimidate other patrons and essentially allowed the aggressive patron to call the shots and kick the group out. Karaoke is supposed to be inclusive, fun, and diverse, and the incident I saw made it the opposite.

Village Idiot Pizza is a laid-back restaurant known for its customizable pizzas, grinders, and other casual dishes. Located in the college neighborhood of Five Points, it has been a beloved spot for over 30 years. The eatery offers a rewards program to enhance the dining experience and features unique options like the Italian Flag pizza with spinach and fresh tomato toppings representing the colors of the Italian flag. Additionally, they provide vegan cheese choices and their homemade ranch dressing is a local favorite.
Going to a pizza joint after a football game is always a must for me. The Village Idiot was recommended by the locals and is apparently THE USC bar spot for games. We really enjoyed our time there as they had beer specials and pizza was delicious. I will say the Buffalo Chicken was recommended and was subpar IMO BUT The Barnyard was fantastic and made up for the Buffalo. Highly recommend if you are looking for a local pizza joint!

Village Idiot is a fun little pizza place! The service isn't always great, the drinks aren't made particularly strong, and the appetizers are a little pricey compared to what they are. Also, sometimes the music is turned up way too loudly, making it difficult to converse with your friends. Nevertheless, Village Idiot is a fun, old-school place where you can drop in and get a slice of pizza in a convenient amount of time.

This is a basic college pizza place. The food was not amazing but it was decent and cheap. The drinks were pretty cheap too and the service was good
Amilia D — Google review
A unique pizza spot with great pizza! The pizza we ordered wasnt greasy or lacking of flavor. It was rightly balanced. Same can be said for the garlic knots! They offer a lot of options for customizing your pizza as well. The interior is nice, with an entrance that hides just how cool the inside looks. It should be noted that this place is not handicap accessible with the only entrance being the staircase.

June 2025 - our waiter was very friendly, attentive & helpful. All the food was delicious! Two of us split an individual Greek salad (could have done without the capers), Italian cheese dip (OMG, so damn good) & small Chicken Mediterranean Pizza (unique & awesome), and we had leftovers. Really enjoyed this place & will return.

Great specials - especially during the week. I love that they have PITCHERS of drinks!
Peggy C — Google review
The waitress was extremely flexible and friendly despite our constant order changes. The pizza had a solid cheese pull and was a large portion size for the price. I enjoyed the lightness of the thin style slice and chewy texture of the crust. I specifically liked the pesto base of the Zambini and spice of the jalapeños. The Buffalo Chicken pizza was a classic and the mixture of sauces paired well with the grilled chicken.

Came here on a rainy Friday afternoon for lunch. It wasn’t that crowded as there was only two other tables. The server was prompt and got our drink requests as soon as we sat down. She was also waiting on the other tables as well as the bar. The drinks took a little while to serve as she was a little busy running around. Which is understandable. The food was good. They have a lunch deal for two slices of pizza with two toppings. Reasonably priced. This is not gourmet pizza but it is good pizza if you are craving a slice or two. The beer selection was decent. They also serve mimosas as well as manmosas. I would recommend this place if you are craving pizza and are in 5 points.

I had been coming here for almost 10 years but had recently moved away. I came back to meet up with some old friends and figured the bartender could just look me up or I could just buy a new membership. However, when they couldn’t find my name I was told that I couldn’t even get a new one because they were out of cards and so we had to leave. Not sure if something changed but I don’t remember ever actually needing a physical card and, if that was the case, why did the bartender even bother looking up our names in the first place? The bartender was very nice and this is not a reflection on her but I was incredibly disappointed. I understand the reasons behind having a membership but if physical cards aren’t required, you shouldn’t just let business walk out. I felt like I lost an old friend that night.
Erin S — Google review
Membership Only! Not sure if I just missed the advertisement for that but be warned you will be immediately turned away without a membership. I was not offered the opportunity to buy one. They also no longer do live music as I was informed by the bartender.
Blake T — Google review
Don't waste your time going in there, the place is a dump. The pool tables are the same tables from the 1960s. The bathrooms, bar, inside building has never been upgraded and probably never will. The late night bartender with long hair always has an attitude with everyone. The bouncer with no hair is straight racist and just like the long hair bartender extremely inappropriate. They scammed people into buying a membership but never upgrade the building and pretend their bar is like Savage....which is not even close..... No one thought that Newbrokland Tavern would ever leave that area but they did. State Street is next especially with those two working there. Long hair bartender and dumb no hair bouncer if you hate your job that bad find another job! Don't waste your time in State Street Pub!
Iram C — Google review
My boyfriend and I are in town for some military training and just searched for places to go have a drink decently close to our hotel. We did not realize they were members only, but we explained we were from out of town and they were so welcoming! The bartender and more then one person offered to sponsor us for the night. The bartender was wonderful! Great experience all around.
Lauren R — Google review
Tried to get a drink here before The New Brookland Tavern opened but the State Street Pub is a private club. Since no one in our party was a member we couldn't get served. Nothing against the place...looks pretty nice. The bartender was nice but the law is the law and we understood why we could not get drinks there. I'll give them three stars and if in the future I ever get a membership I'll re-rate.
TheRealPontificator — Google review
This rating may be a little unfair so I recommend you check out other reviews. This is a private bar and you can only get a membership the first of each month. This is very inconvenient for most. The only reason I rated it as high as I did was because the gentleman that met us to explain the policy was very professional and polite. They do have billiards and seemed to have a laid back atmosphere from what I could tell.

I have wanted to visit this place for the longest and finally got the chance to. Great hole in the wall spot for live music and drinks. I only deducted one star because I got the BLT and the bacon to toppings ratio was not good. Extremely thing slices or bacon that couldn’t hardly taste because of the tomatoes and lettuce taking over. I think the chips were homemade and they were absolutely delish. I ended up ordering wings as well and they were very good and cooked to perfection:

The Aristocrat occupies the location where the Columbia's institution, Kelly's, used to reside. They've cleaned it up and gotten it a lot brighter. The drinks are good (the Day Man, in particular), and they have the best pita chips I've ever tried. It's a little on the pricier side but nothing unusual for the Vista. The bartenders are awesome, especially Liz!

Their signature brunch dishes like the Hangover Hash Browns have gained them widespread recognition, even being featured in Southern Living.
Traveling thru the area, Cafe Strudel caught my attention for breakfast. Delightful spot where locals & travelers stop to get caffeine, food & caught up on all things local. If you're reading this, just go to Waffle House you'll save money and have better food. The grits are not cooked through. The brisket biscuits are so chewy, you can't chew it. The only thing was good was the fresh squeezed orange juice, I would give this item 5 stars. When we ask to return the biscuit, we had to find our waitress. We also had to ask for butter. It would have been nice to have butter and jam on the table. We wanted jam, but after trying to find our waitress and asking for 2 things, we decided it wasn't worth it to ask for some jam. I'm posting a picture of the uncooked grits, you can tell by the picture. I'm also posting a picture of the receipt, which you can see what this nasty food cost. Also look at how you're supposed to flush the toilet. For the $5 coffee, you have to serve yourself Parking = 1 Star Service = 3 Stars Food = 1 Star Bathroom = 1 Star

For a classic, hearty South Carolina breakfast, Cafe Strudel in West Columbia is the spot. It’s always busy, and for good reason—the food is consistently delicious and the service is lightning-fast. The star of the show is undoubtedly the "Hangover Hashbrowns": a massive plate of crispy hashbrowns topped with cheese, tomatoes, onions, and your choice of meat, all smothered in their signature spicy cheese sauce. It’s the ultimate comfort food. Their Benedicts are also excellent, and they have a great selection of pancakes and waffles. The coffee is strong and bottomless. The atmosphere is casual and friendly, a true local gathering place. Whether you’re curing a actual hangover or just craving a massive, satisfying breakfast, Cafe Strudel delivers every time.

Steel Hands Brewing is dedicated to enriching the local community, promoting innovation, and ensuring top-notch beer quality, customer service, and taproom ambiance. They host live music on weekends and offer brewery tours multiple days a week. This family-friendly establishment boasts an outdoor beer garden where even your furry companions can join in the fun. Located just outside downtown Columbia SC, Steel Hands Brewing sits on a vast four-acre property across from one of the country's largest rebar manufacturing facilities—hence its name.
Came here around 2p on a Saturday, with a group of 8 on a cloudy day. Plenty of indoor seating but outside tables and parking were harder to come by. Prettier Than Matt was the band playing at the time, and they’re always entertaining. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable when ordering. I always get a flight so I can try different things. I also ordered a pretzel and avocado tacos with mahi. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and was hot and fresh. Another band came in later, but I didn’t catch the name. They played mostly 90’s hits and were pretty good. The crowd of mostly Gen X people seemed to fade to a younger crowd by the time we left around 6p. Steel hands is always a great way to spend an afternoon with friends, good music, good beer and food! Lots of well behaved dogs. The only thing of note was that a couple in our party are not big beer drinkers. They were looking for a cider, which they don’t have, so opted for wine instead. Also available are cocktails.

At first, we thought this place was going to be a hit when we pulled up, but after leaving, we're just not sure if we would recommend it or even return. We decided to start with some food since we were on a tight schedule. The young lady taking our order was awkwardly shy and seemed to lack enthusiasm for customer service, which was a bit off-putting. We ordered the "limited" stuffed pretzel, and honestly, we wish we had skipped it. It lacked flavor and definitely not worth the price. On the bright side, the fries were excellent, and the ranch dipping sauce was fantastic. As for the beer selection, they offered some great options, and we thoroughly enjoyed the beers we tried. However, the "bar" style ordering system was a downside. It was frustrating having people cut in or act entitled to their turn, and the staff didn’t seem to enforce any order. This place could really benefit from table QR codes for ordering food and drinks without having to get up. Since they already have staff running food from the kitchen, it would make sense to have someone handle drink orders too!

Steel Hands was a great time! I can't say enough good things about the way that they've ingratiated themselves into the local community! I went on a special Gamecock night, and there were tons (I'd guess hundreds) of people decked out in Gamecock gear, and they had local journalists there to provide insights into the upcoming college football season. It was really a sight to see. In addition to that, they had a great live music band, who played a lot of great country music hits. Finally, their craft beer is great, and I loved their IPAs. Overall, five (5) stars for Steel Hands, for a variety of reasons! I hope they'll be in Columbia for years to come!

Probably the staple brewery in the area aside from Savage Craft. Huge space both indoors and outdoors — plenty of room to relax and enjoy a few pints. The beers were solid across the board, but the standout was definitely the Hefeweizen — lighter than expected and something I’d love to savor regularly. Would love to see this place at full capacity, but even on a quieter day, it’s absolutely worth the stop!

Decent beer. Below average food. The mango hazy IPA was okay. Nothing to write home about. The pecan brown ale was pretty good. Buttery, a little hoppy, very nice and balanced. My burger was fine, not exceptional. My wife got the blackened mahi sandwich, though, and it was pretty bad. The onions and blackening spices helped to drown out the strong fishy taste it got from being overcooked, but was not good overall. She couldn't finish it.

The atmosphere was fabulous. I would love to go back. Live music. Service excellent. Be careful what you order. We ordered the stuff pretzel with spinach artichoke dip. The dip needed parmsaen cheese it was bland. AND when you order the charcutrie board make sure you get 4 cheeses and crackers. We did not. The regular pretzel was excellent. The chicken and fries were fab!! Fried pickles were best I have ever had. I would hardily recommend this place!!!

Absolutely wonderful brewery! I was in the area and love to try locals. From the moment I walked in the service was fantastic. The lady who waited on me was very informative and friendly. She had me sample a few of their beers and all three had really good taste. The coffee lager was definitely intriguing but I ended up with a hazy IPA. She even made some great food recommendations and even a couple other breweries in the area if I wanted to stop by. Which is very impressed what are personality and how she went out of her way. I took her suggestion and trying to smashburger and again she nailed it! The steel sauce they use was very tasty. The meat was seasoned and cooked well and I enjoyed the brioche bun. What may have been even more impressive was the fries. They had a fantastic taste of them and quite honestly some of the best I ever had. Wonderful atmosphere with indoor and outdoor options. Many other items on the food menu I would like to try in the future and come back when they have live music as it is heavily advertised! Location is more in an industrial area but I promise you will easily find it and absolutely enjoy your visit!

Solstice Kitchen & Wine Bar is a refined and romantic eatery offering sophisticated, seasonal American cuisine. Whether it's for a business dinner or a date night, this restaurant impresses with its diverse menu featuring starters, small plates, and full-size main courses. The creative and modern dishes with strong Southern influences never feel too uptight.
A lovely diner evening, and enjoyable experience. Great, well balanced menu from which I would highly recommend The brussels sprouts as a starter. For a main I had The bronzed Atlantic Salmon which was delicious. The service was fantastic. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu, very attentive to our table, and very friendly. Interior of the dinning area is very well laid out and makes for a very welcoming environment. Would love to eat here again.

Wonderful atmosphere. Not too noisy. Great service and AMAZING food. Made reservations online. Was greeted quickly and professionally upon entry. It was crowded but it didn't feel overwhelming and the staff was great. Food came out in good time, from soups to entree. I'm big on presentation and both dishes were plated nicely. Their wine list is intense, in a good way. You are sure to find something you like. Even if it's just for a side of the mac and cheese, I'll be back!

Great place for a dinner for two. The service is fast and friendly. The food was exactly as ordered. It has a nice sized bar with a large selection of drinks. Definitely will be back.

The meal was excellent, I mean absolutely delicious. The price was reasonable for the quality, 25-50 per person (50 with adult beverages and desert). The average age of the crowd was 40-60. Definitely not the place for kids or a cheap date. Fabulous for a small group of up-classed adults or intimate dinner. Dress ranges from very nice to relaxed but not too relaxed.

Love the ambiance of this restaurant, gr8 for grps or that 1st date or all dates!!! Perfect lunch place and an even better date night spot. Reasonably priced menu and amazing atmosphere. The same owner as the Cellar on Green venue (which is now closed) offering the same or similar dishes. Go check it out.

Nice place to eat and get a couple of drinks. Upscale clientele. Would give it 5 stars if they had table clothes to make it feel more elegant. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

I love that y’all are on Sparkleberry Ln! We had a restaurant week dinner here and it was a great experience. We cane a bit before our reservation. I had a Bloody Mary....love the pickled okra! The Manhattan was good too. We each got the three course meal. Duck and lentils was fabulous...as are the shrimp. The yellowtail was wonderful and the pork chop dinner didn’t disappoint. We were stuffed, but the chocolate was the perfect dessert, as it was very light.

Southern restaurant (US)
Nestled just outside Columbia, Random Tap is a hidden gem that beckons beer enthusiasts and food lovers alike. This charming bar, run by a husband-and-wife duo, boasts an impressive selection of craft beers in a cozy atmosphere that invites you to linger. Whether you're perched on a barstool or lounging on the inviting couch, you'll feel right at home here. The outdoor deck is perfect for soaking up some sun while enjoying your drink.
TLDR: A MUST TRY, LOCAL GEM!! Almost hesitant posting how FREAKING amazing this place is, because the second people realize, it’s going to be PACKED 24/7. 1000/10 every single time. Infinite delicious beer/cider choices and the food, THE FOOD. Everything is prepared to absolute perfection and they keep it fun with rotating menu items! I seriously can’t say enough good things about the food, you HAVE to experience it for yourself to understand the magnitude of how amazing everything is! To tie the experience together, the atmosphere is perfection, outside seating at night, the lighting is adorable in a vintage backyard setting! Last but not least, the PRICES!!! Super affordable in general but INSANELY affordable when considering the quality of the drinks, food, atmosphere, and service! Random Tap is an absolute MUST try for anyone and everyone!! *This review is based on several visits, each time just as amazing as the last if not better!
Jeneva P — Google review
The place has a "Cheers" ( old sitcom show where everyone knows your name) vibe, which is great for comfort. It appears that their main source of fame is their beer taps because everything else is either can or bottle so no refills on nothing. The food is not the best but it's good if you're drinking. Overall, it's a cool little place just needs to improve on recipes.
Lavonda B — Google review
The food tasted good but was WAY overpriced for what you get. I paid way too much to still be hungry when we left. We ate snacks for the same price that we could have had adult entrées elsewhere. They also don't have fountain sodas, only cans. We won't be returning based on all of the above.
Trackqueen — Google review
Service was top notch, if you are going here for the beer and atmosphere it's a very nice little place. This review is about the food, Not the Beer. Stuffed Mushrooms : $10 Raw Mushroom caps with a Chip dip inside. Not what I was expecting, Not Good, Not Worth $. French Fries w/truffle : $7 Frozen French fries with Garlic drizzle. Had better at Red Robin. Tap Burger : $16 for a Tiny Meat Patty that was propped up with lettuce and a tomato. Sadly enough 5 Guy's burger is better and had more quality meat. I went in hoping for the best. Unfortunately this place, like every other restaurant in Columbia was Not Good.

1st timer. Found by google reviews. So glad we came. What a great place!!! The staff/owners are terrific. The food is really good. I had the taco sweet potato (vegan) a 5/5, and hubby had the pimento burger w/fries. The burger was a solid 4.5/5. The fries were definitely a 5/5. We will be back for the overall vibe and staff. The beer selection and food were the icing on the cake. Don't hesitate!! Just go see for yourself.

Wife and I went on a Saturday night. Not at all packed so we were seated right away. Service was prompt and food was delicious. Salmon was tasty and the Shrimp and Grits was a nice, large portion. Excellent selection of desserts as well.

We ate at Nonnah’s for lunch and really enjoyed it. I had the pimento cheese sandwich on a croissant which was so good and my husband got the half turkey sandwich and bowl of black bean soup. I wish we would have had room for dessert - they sounded amazing!

I love desserts but this place is overrated, overpriced, and not impressive at all. I ordered the raspberry cheesecake and lemon cake. First off both of these deserts were almost 9$. The lemon cake was a big size. It looked good but it was dry and tasted old. The icing was good but I’ve had much better even from a grocery store deli. The cheesecake was the biggest disappointment. The serving size was a little bigger than a plastic fork. The raspberry drizzle was nothing special and honestly it was more tart than it should be on a desert and resembles cheap artificial flavoring. The cheesecake was edible but I’ve had better from a Chick-fil-A drive thru and for the price was a huge waste. I would never recommend this place for dessert. Pic is of raspberry cheesecake that’s $8.50
Madeline S — Google review
Took longer than necessary to be seated. The table seated after us had their server before we did. Our coffee arrived COLD. The chocolate temptation was nothing special and the half hazardly thrown on white chocolate tasted weird. I could see the entire stomach of one server which i think is unprofessional and probably against some kind of health code. The menu looked like it had some decent lunch options so we may give it one more try but as far as desserts go I don't think I'll be giving it any more chances.

Our son and his fiance were married New Year's Eve in the Planetarium at the State Museum. We had the Rehearsal Dinner and Welcome Cocktail Party at Nonnah's the evening before. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the entire experience from start to finish. Maggie, the General Manager, was awesome and guided me throughout the process in choosing the menu for dinner and the appetizers for the Welcome Cocktail Party. Her help was invaluable!!!! Our bartenders and servers were totally awesome as well! Now to the food -- The food was FABULOUS! Best Shrimp and Grits I think I've ever had! Those who had the Pork Chop and the Vegetarian dish also raved about their food. And the desserts -- Well, they are the best!! The atmosphere was absolutely perfect! We dined in the "twinkly lights room" and moved to the Bar area for the Welcome Cocktail Party. It was a magical evening, and we could not have been more pleased with the entire Nonnah's experience!!!!! Would highly recommend having your event there. Maggie "knows her stuff" and everything was so beautiful, and she was so accommodating!!

Delaney's Music Pub and Eatery is a convivial Irish pub that offers classic bar fare, tap beers, live music, and trivia nights. It attracts a diverse crowd with its traditional Irish atmosphere and menu featuring dishes like fish and chips, shepherd's pie, burgers, and a variety of beverages including 26 beers on tap and premium spirits. The pub provides a friendly and relaxed environment with ample seating, TV screens for entertainment, while also maintaining a cozy feel.
Have eaten there plenty of times but there's new ownership so menus have changed, some new items. Food is really good. Went in for the brunch preview tasting and it was amazing. The Irish eggs Benedict was really good and the chicken and waffles was amazing. It was an honey syrup and orange cream butter (something like that) and it was just amazing!
Drew H — Google review
Really nice whiskey steak sandwich. They toasted the hoagie bread and the steak had a nice flavor. You could really taste the whisky. The green beans side were actually real beans not from a kale and chard with lots of garlic. The fish and chips huge and tasty. The coleslaw had a nice horse radish that fight. The tartar sauce could’ve had more flavor but overall everything was delicious. The pub itself is large with lots of seating and TV capability but also feels cozy and homey.
Yvette S — Google review
I've been a fan of Delaney's for many years, now, but, these days, it isn't what it used to be. The food is still good, as are the variety of beers on tap and the whiskey selection. However, it's just not the same nowadays. My only real gripe is with the atmosphere. The staff was fine, if not quite as friendly as the staff from days of old. Gone is the Irish (or at least Irish-themed) music, replaced with typical pop fare. The place just feels sorta sad now. I've heard rumors about the end being near for Delaney's, at least in its current form, so maybe that's the problem. Or maybe my recent visits have been on off days. Either way, I'm still very fond of the place, and I'd love to see it regain whatever it is that it's lost.
Wesley L — Google review
The food is pretty good. I like the fish and chips. The ambience is nice and during music nights there are lots of good places to sit. Service is consistently good. They also have a nice selection of beers on tap.

I've been coming to Delaney's for ten years (I even got engaged there seven years ago), and I absolutely love the renovation. It's clean, fresh, and just all-around nice to hang out in. It definitely needed an upgrade. The food is good quality and fresh, and the service is friendly.

Delaney's pub is the place to go for anyone who enjoys a multitude of taps and liquors. A traditional Irish bar with good Irish bar food. Delaney's rolls out the red carpet for businessmen, college students, and the usual miscreants alike. Whether you're ordering a fine cocktail or a bud light, these guys can take care of you. Also there is room for parties and they host a series of live music and events. On this particular evening, Nathan and Mya served me at the bar. They were friendly and jovial and made my time enjoyable. I would recommend this place to anyone local or visiting the Columbia area. They will make you feel right at home.

Your local Irish pub. Staff is always great to talk to, a solid number of well-chosen beers in rotation, and the food is actually pretty good, too. The crowd there is a fun time, and you won't blow your budget here, either.
Tyler D — Google review
I did like this place pretty well... Good music, decent food. But I'm feeling differently after discovering that the bar tender was automatically rounding up my bill without telling me. He didn't realize a different server had already told me the actual amount I owed and then walked away, so he just went ahead and added on a little bit more. It wasn't a whole lot of money that he added, but if you cheat enough people, that really adds up. Pretty unfortunate.

When it comes to nightlife in Columbia, Cotton Gin is a must-visit destination that caters to all ages. This lively spot is perfect for those looking to mingle and have a good time, especially with its vibrant atmosphere filled with college students enjoying the dance floor and drinks. The venue boasts a friendly vibe and offers quick bites alongside your beverages, making it an ideal place for socializing. Nestled in Five Points, Cotton Gin also has a unique charm thanks to its history as an old theater.
The Amount Of Clemson Fans That Have Gave This Place A One Star Review & Wrote Complete Nonsense Is Pretty Funny. But This Place Is Very Friendly & Has Options To Grab Some Quick Food While You Are Getting A Drink & Having A Good Time In Five Points. Plus They Do Great Things For Many People All Over South Carolina & Beyond So This Is A Good Place To Spend My Money I Think. Anyone Putting Nonsense On Here Is Just Mad Clemson Fans But It Comes With The Territory. Thanks Guys!!!
Trip S — Google review
This is a nice enough place. The location is really good in 5 Points. However, after my most recent 3 trips there I decided to leave this review. The dogs are terrible. I pretty positive one was rancid. And whatever they’re doing or not doing with regard to cleanliness is not helping the roach situation. I saw two behind the bar in a 30 minute span. It is a bar however, and the food and roach issues could maybe be overlooked if you’re just out to have a few drinks with friends, but the wait staff is rude. Totally ruins the experience. I’ve been there a number of times over the years and never come away very satisfied, but enough is enough. This place is not even trying to address their issues (if they realize they have issues). I won’t go back.
Randy Z — Google review
I will NEVER be back here! These people over charged my card $40 for 4 drinks. And after looking at reviews, they've BEEN doing this to EVERYBODY! Its not right they are trying to take advantage of people because they know people will be intoxicated and think noone will notice. This place is a joke all together. They need to be shut down asap! What a fraud of a place!
Amber R — Google review
I came to the cotton gin on Saturday. They played great music but it was SLAMMED PACKED. The drinks were okay but at the end of the night my friends and I were charged twice when we only had one tab open. I would make sure to keep your receipts on you and follow up with your bank account afterwards. If I ever go back, will probably pay with cash only.
Lexie C — Google review
NO!!!!!! $50 for a skip the line fee was ridiculous. The Dj upstairs 🧑‍🦳🎤 only played trap music allllll night!!! No twerk/ dance music for the ladies at all. He catered more to the men with his selection choice (WHICH WAS OLD THROW BACK-MUSIC FROM THE 2000s) all night. The bathroom (ladies) 🤮 was disgusting! The ceiling is leaking something terrible (thought somebody was sprinkling Holy Ghost water or spit on me all night) ! It’s a HARD NOOOOOOO FOR ME !!!!

Tbh one of my favorite bars in Columbia. The old theater gives off a unique vibe. If you dont like the music that is fine just go up stairs.
Forrest T — Google review
CHECK YOUR BANK ACCOUNT AFTER COMING HERE! Went here with a group of friends and a couple of days later I noticed that I’d gotten charged an extra $22 apart from the charges I had from the only tab I had open all night. At first I found it pretty weird, so I asked all my friends who were there— turns out we all got double charged. If you ever come here, be sure to only bring cash otherwise they will do this to you, because after talking to other people, it’s been known that this place does this a lot thinking that people don’t check their stuff the days after.

CB 18- Breakers Live is an exceptional establishment that provides a remarkable experience. The ambiance consistently creates a delightful atmosphere accompanied by pleasant individuals and fantastic music. Recently, they introduced a fresh food menu which has received positive feedback as every item tried was delectable. Tyler, one of the bartenders, stands out as he is exceptionally talented in his craft and deserves generous gratuity for his hard work.
This is one of the best establishments in Columbia. I always have a good time at breakers from the food, drinks and music. A true staple of the city's night life. Had a Possible payment discrepancy but the the Owner/Manager has reached out very quickly to look into the matter.

I was very disappointed by my experience on breakers Tuesday bingo. After arriving to the bar, they had still not begun the bingo. They had only done a few small rounds. I would not recommend this bar if you are looking to win big at bingo. Or if you are looking to pee with the door on the stall.
Ella G — Google review
Owner yelled at us for being too close to the bar, plus the bar felt way too crowded. Felt like a fire hazard. I have never been to a place this crowded before where I felt unsafe. They did not check our ids, me and my group (five in total) got in just by walking past the bouncer. I felt like I was surrounded by a bunch of 18/19 yrolds. Obviously I was since anyone can be let in.
Shannon G — Google review
MOST of the staff is kind and treat people respectfully, but not ALL. Had a very rude encounter with a bouncer named JT, who used inappropriate hand placements to forcibly remove women from the bar and yelled obscenities at others on multiple occasions. This level of disrespect is in no way effective to the removing of costumers during close nor to getting costumers to return. Aside from being horrifically disrespected and watching unprofessional actions occur, the bartenders and rest of the staff are kind and pour perfectly.

"The Bird Dog" is a charming and cozy bed and breakfast located in a picturesque countryside setting. The property features beautifully decorated rooms with comfortable furnishings and modern amenities. Guests can enjoy delicious homemade breakfasts made with locally sourced ingredients. The surrounding area offers plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities such as hiking, birdwatching, and exploring nearby attractions. With its warm hospitality and serene atmosphere, The Bird Dog provides the perfect retreat for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.
I spent $37 dollars for a medium rare burger and got a well done no lettuce or tomato burger. I got the bacon jalapeno fries and they were a basket of soggy microwaved fries with clumped up nasty cheese. I would not recommend. Keep in mind that I did pay $10 in delivery and tips; I would rather spend my money on Wendy's which is not that good, those fries are way better.

i have always loved this place, but if i could leave no stars, i would. the staff put their hands on us before we even entered the building because we asked them not to make disgusting, derogatory remarks about our costumes. they groped us and threw us out of the building without cause. the bouncer was taking tips to let others in ahead of the line, too. disgusting.
Laura R — Google review
Overall experience was pretty good. The drinks were made fast and we were tended to in a timely manner. However, my friends and I (4 people total) got charged twice when each of us only had one tab open. I’m not sure if this is a normal thing to happen at a bar, I would just make sure to keep your receipts with you and check your bank account to make sure you didn’t get charged twice like we did.

If I could give no stars I would. Literally was groped by a bouncer just for wanting to go in and when I said "please don't touch me there," I was kicked out. Literally kicked out. Like by literally I mean shoved and kicked out the door and my friend shoved to the ground. The worst establishment I've ever been in.
Sully L — Google review
My fiancée is a US Soldier who has been serving in the US Army for the past 7 years. We were out tonight and wanted to pop into Bird Dog for a green tea shot. The bouncer declined my fiancée because he was wearing a white shirt instead of, according to the bouncer “a shirt with a logo”. Absolutely shocked at the treatment we received tonight and will not be returning to this bar. Shocking treatment of a US Veteran that we have never experienced at a bar in Five Points. Bird Dog, I understand you are trying to reclaim your reputation, but try and do it without discriminating against US Veterans.
Valerie L — Google review
Yeah so we went there last night because they had pong which was cool but we weren’t that intoxicated yet so I ordered two dragon mules (dragonberry Bacardi, sprite, grenadine) and literally watched this dude pour ice, sprite, grenadine and serve me a literal Shirley temple. I asked him why he didn’t put any liquor in it and he told me “liquor’s in there”. It Shirley was not. At this point he realized I was fairly sober and says “well I can put a little more in them if you’d like” so I said yeah. He walks over and grabs Bacardi (first time seeing it at this point) and gives me a *splash* of liquor into the drinks. So yea make sure they’re putting the liquor in there.
Gus B — Google review
My 3 friends and I were at the bar for close to two hours casually having drinks last night when we ran into a problem. A group of 5 or 6 staff members (not working) came in very drunk celebrating one of the members birthday. We were still minding our business when one of the staff members came up and shoved my friend and told him to quit talking to his girl. My friend did not know that this was the staff members "girl", but he stopped after that. Later on, all of the staff members grouped up around us at the bar and told us we have to say sorry to the girl or leave (bullying customers and using authority). My friend apologized, but the guys were still harrassing us. Finally, the birthday boy goes to get the bouncers outside to kick us out. I will be contacting corporate later today about the issue and possibly the NAACP. Moral of the story, the guys that work there love to use their authority when they aren't working to bully paying customers.
Stephon P — Google review
The staff came out at the end of the night literally looking to pick a fight with anyone who didn't knock over the person in front of them to get out. I was waiting in line and got multiple elbows to the back from one dude. Didn't quite understand it and asked him why, he just kept pushing. Eventually some other dude had enough and the staff guy got big and said what are you going to do about it before he was then embarrassingly put in his place. Decent place for a drink, but seems to be an awful place when they decide it's time to leave.
