Brewery
Lake Placid Pub & Brewery is a multi-level establishment with bars and lakeside decks, offering a kids' play area and brewery tours. It's located in the heart of the Adirondack Park, making it an ideal stop for hikers exploring the Northville-Placid Trail. The trail spans 133 miles from Northville to Lake Placid, showcasing remote areas like Spruce, West Canada, and Cedar lakes.
The staff was so friendly and provided excellent service! The honey garlic wings were such a hit, we ordered a second round. The burgers were delicious, and the flights were fun to try—my favorite was the passion sour. The chicken nachos were super tasty too!

We got takeout dinner here after a long driving day, since this place is right across the street from our hotel, like 1 minute walk. We wasn’t expecting much, but the food absolutely blow us away! I had the prosciutto and burrata sandwich, boyfriend has the California burger. The portion size is MASSIVE and flavor is incredible. The fries that come with the burger is the highlight of the meal, it’s so crispy and salted perfectly, the best fry I’ve had in a long time. We would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Lake Placid in the future.

It's no secret that I love Old Fashions ... Overtime, I've tried various offerings from a multitude of venues across the US, including numerous whiskey bars in Louisville, KY. And wouldn't you know, the best OF I've ever had came from this brewery in Lake Placid, NY! Their Smoked Berry Old Fashion beats them all! Also, I highly recommend this brewery, not only for their OF, but also for their beers, including Unicorns & Show Ponies & their New York State of Mind! So nice to walk into a brewery & everything from the atmosphere to the food & beers/cocktails hits all the right notes! Thank you for setting the standard at top shelf!
Adana C — Google review
Awesome place to eat and enjoy the atmosphere. If you are into college banners, they hang on the walls all around the dining area. The food is good and the service is quick.
BRUCE W — Google review
Lake Placid Pub and Brewery has a lively atmosphere with a great selection of local ales and beers. My partner especially loved the guava mule — refreshing and well made. Drinks here are definitely the highlight. The food, however, was a bit of a letdown. The buffalo chicken pizza was disappointing- no pizza sauce- a few tiny pieces of chickenand while the salmon was fine, it was overdone and the gravy lacked flavor. Still, worth stopping by for the drinks and local brews, but the food could use some improvement.
Rekha K — Google review
Wish I had better things to say about this place. We went in to grab a pizza to go and had a flight while we waited. Beers were pretty good and found a few we liked, but when got home our pizza wasn't even close to cooked. The presentation from opening it up before we left wasn't amazing but we figured we could look past that. Once we took a piece out when we got home, the cheese and toppings completely came off the pizza and you could pull apart the doughy "crust" in your fingers because of how uncooked it was. Not only was it an incredibly disappointing pizza, it's also just unsafe to serve uncooked dough. Not sure if they were just rushing to get food out, but there were hardly any people dining there and we would've been happy to wait for a fully cooked pizza. Our mistake for not trying a piece in the car before we brought home an inedible pizza....

Food was great! I dropped by before a hike in the high peaks, and ordered a jambalaya. It was delicious and delightful! While it was spicy, so if you don’t have a liking for that kick it may be better to find another dish. The cornbread was amazing too, buttery and warm. The food was great, and staff were extremely helpful, kind, and friendly. I’d recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Sebastien A — Google review
Ordered a skirt steak sandwich that was clearly not skirt steak. They meat was more like a pot roast and we didn’t care for the flavor. French fries were good. Salad, while on the small side for 7.00 was good and the blue cheese dressing was my favorite! My boyfriend got the funky friar beer and said decent. Server was friendly, service was average.

Top of the Park is a charming eatery located on Main Street in Lake Placid, offering stunning views of Mirror Lake and the Adirondack Mountains from its spacious deck. The restaurant boasts a well-stocked bar serving signature cocktails and a selection of tapas-style small plates, including familiar options like Lobster Rolls and Confit Chicken Wings, as well as more adventurous dishes such as Seared Loin of Kangaroo.
Amazing spot with great views and fantastic service. The bourbon selection is extensive, the cocktails are phenomenal, and the staff is friendly. I really enjoyed the atmosphere - felt like a great balance between welcoming and upscale. This is a must visit in Lake Placid.
Jason B — Google review
Portions were ridiculous (and not in a good way). Extremely delicious, but also very small portion size. Probably because the place is more a bar than a restaurant for eating (my mistake). The calamari was like noodles! (a good thing, very yummy). The tuna missed the mark with the seasoning, could’ve been sweeter and less on the tart side. Lamb chops were definitely well-seasoned and grilled but 14$ per chop and it’s the size of a kiwi, kinda nuts. The only thing worth your money here is the drinks 💯 Don’t get me wrong the food is great but not worth the price at all. especially considering how small the portion size is.
Linaaveya — Google review
We stopped in for a drink and we’re not disappointed. I had a lemon meringue martini with egg whites. Mom had a glass of wine. Great drinks, great service, superb views. Quiet for visiting with nice lighting. Not overly pricey!
Amanda M — Google review
We went to Top of the Park our first night in town. The ambience is perfect! The view of Mirror Lake and the surrounding mountains is fantastic! The space is open and airy. Our bartender was our server and he was great! The cocktails were super delicious. Highly recommend the Orange you glad, Sangria and the Naughty or Spice were all delicious. The tapas items were also delicious. Highly recommend the scallops, the Brussel sprouts salad and the charcuterie board. The only thing that was the downer was the portion size, left us wanting more because the flavors were so good! There were Small plates only though.
JJ B — Google review
Awesome spot. I didn’t catch her name, but our server was amazing and so nice to us. Between the mocktails, on tap beers, and cocktails, all our drinks were amazing (highly recommend the bees knees). Small plates were all great, with very good portions for the price. Everything came out super quickly, and the views were amazing. Highly recommend!!
Jonathan E — Google review
Food was amazing! Portions were small but the taste and presentation were 5 star! Our server, Kara, was just as amazing as the food!
Billy H — Google review
Incredible view when you sit outside! The food was beautifully presented and tasted great, as well as the drinks.

I love lamb chops..... HOWEVER, I have never seen lamb chops the size of 2 fingers before and the price isn't the point ...just the amount of actual food ....come on. And I asked to have my food WELL DONE, NO....I get pink meat in the middle ...then I watched the chef walk out...he was done at 10 minutes to 10pm......the back up chef was leaving as well.....she ....did go back and fix the pink in the middle...and the only diversity was me and the bus boy....WOW! And then there is a CC price and a cash price....news flash....you are only hurting your server doing that!!!

Lisa G's is a popular dining spot in Lake Placid, offering a diverse menu of American cuisine with global influences. The restaurant provides a welcoming atmosphere with vibrant murals and a waterside patio. It caters to various tastes, including options for children, and offers an extensive selection of beer, wine, and other beverages. Diners can enjoy home-cooked dishes such as salads, sandwiches, pizzas, and entrees with unique twists from around the world.
The wings were the best I have had which is saying a lot about the wings. Perfectly crisp without being over. The salad was light and refreshing with enough dressing to taste but not drenched in the dressing. The desert was light and airy to add the perfect ending to a delicious dinner . The cocktails was delicious and refreshing.

Amazing experience. Made a reservation and arrived 10 mins early. They had us seated and in the requested area as well. The drinks and food were spectacular! Well seasoned and delicious. I had the pepperoni pizza and my wife had the haddock. Both were so flavorful! The fried calamari was also very delicious. Let’s not forget the drinks and the calamari! 5/5!! Would definitely recommend!
Michael D — Google review
We came here for dinner during our long weekend to Lake Placid -- the food was incredible! We really loved the calamari that comes topped with a delicious pesto sauce. It was such a unique take on one of our favorite appetizers and the pickled onions, olives, and capers that came with it added an additional layer of flavor. We also got the French dip sandwich and the chicken parm -- both of these dishes were excellent as well. The staff was so sweet to our dog, they got her set up with a water bowl on the outside dinning deck. The hostess greeted our dog so warmly and made us truly feel welcome and at ease as Lisa's G's is a dog friendly restaurant. Make sure you stop here to eat if you are in the area!

Definitely have Fish&Fry, delicious and special! Waited about 45 mins for the table, which may make the foods more delicious🤣. Honey Garlic Wings also special but a little sweet for us, the ranch sauce not match it, maybe can consider changing to the other sauce for this flavor’s wings. Overall Great!👍

We had our rehearsal dinner here and it was amazing! The private space was so cool, complete with a balcony, living room area, and bar. The food was absolutely delicious and our guests loved the “family style” dinner where everyone got to try a little of everything. And the service was incredible - they were so accommodating and friendly. It was a perfect start to our wedding weekend. Thank you Mike, Megan, and the rest of the wonderful Lisa G’s team!!

We've been there on Sunday, Sep 28 2025. Husband took a burger cooked well done, but received a rare one. On my side the Salad Sesame Tuna Nicoise was perfect. Wine was excellent, staff really efficient and nice to talk with. Lunch on the terrace was very pleasant. Thank you :)

Second time coming here and it was equally as good. We were looking for something other than conventional American style BBQ. This a great pick in Lake Placid. There’s parking along the side. Seating inside and out. Beautiful little falls behind the property.
Aaron S — Google review
The wife and I were recommended to check out this place by a couple while descending Mt Marcy. It was a long, tough and definitely tested our patience and our love for each other! I was so hungry I felt I could’ve eaten an entire cow. The restaurants was a very busy and looking for a parking spot was rough. The wait was long but totally worth it. We ordered the lemon Caesar salad, nachos, the hot meats pizza and the Haus Burgermeister - everything hit the spot. They seemed a bit understaffed but our waitress- super attentive and made sure we stayed hydrated once she heard we’s just come off the mountain. All in all, it was a perfect way to end a tough day. Highly recommend!

The Cottage at Mirror Lake Inn is a casual bistro offering a variety of American comfort dishes with nightly food and drink deals. It's the third restaurant of the luxurious Mirror Lake Inn, located across from the picturesque shores of Mirror Lake. The restaurant provides a more affordable dining option compared to other establishments in the area, while still offering incredible views and good food. Additionally, visitors can enjoy scenic views of the lake from the patio, making it an ideal spot for families to dine and appreciate local wildlife.
I liked the lunch I had here today. I ordered The Cottage house chili. And a pesto/mozzarella artisan flatbread. And their blackberry lemonade cocktail. All very good. The views of Mirror Lake are gorgeous from the restaurant windows. Safe travels. 😊

We enjoyed dinner here. We reached around 6 PM so wait time was approx 40 mins. We took some drinks while we waited. There's a dedicated seating space for guests in the queue. The bar is rich and drinks are served in around 10 minutes, despite the busy hours. Staff is friendly and attentive. Food is average. Some items were fresh while some were more like pre-made and felt stale. What deserves a special mention? It's a good place to enjoy drinks during evening with some snack. What could be better? The wait area chairs and table could be cleaner. Nobody enjoys sitting on stained couch/chair. This place has great views, if they improved the quality of food, it would be a must visit option.

The Cottage is a true gem! This is over my third time coming to The Cottage and I am proud to say that I have never been disappointed every time I have been here. The building is small but makes dining with family or friends very intimate. We didn’t get food this time, just drinks, but we saw the food coming out of the kitchen and it all looked spectacular. The bartender was very nice and kept her station clean. They have a beautiful view of Mirror Lake and have indoor and outdoor seating available that are both handicap accessible. This place fills up quick so be sure to make some time for The Cottage the next time you’re in the ADKs!

Went last year, fell in love and came back twice this year. We were not disappointed. When it was an hour wait on the Fourth of July, they allowed us to order drinks inside and sit in a drinks only section with our dogs which had some of the best views of the lake. The next day we went and got lunch there and sat outside on their patio with the dogs. Not only were they accommodating to our dogs, but the food was great. Can’t wait to come back next year.

Absolute gem hanging over mirror lake at the end of the strip in lake placid. Food was amazing, and can see how this cosy pub becomes a top apres spot in the winter. Had the Lucy special, the chili, and the soup of the day, all were fantastic.

This place has interesting bathroom doors that are difficult to get into and out of! 😆 For dessert I had a slice of peanut butter pie. It was on the small side and cost a whopping $13. I let them know it was my birthday, and if you are wondering whether I got a free drink, appetizer or dessert... no, no I didn’t.
Jasmine C — Google review
Went because my brother and sister recommended and have been coming for years, they were national figure skaters and said this place was their favorite. It was 6 pm and my wife and I got a seats right away. Then figuring what we would get asked about their black bean burger to see if there was cheese in it. Waiter didnt know. So asked about the egg salad sandwich but they had "run out" so asked about the tuna tacos and "they had just sold the last one" Three strikes and you are out! I should have got up after the egg salad answer. I mean, who runs out of egg salad and doesn't make more in 10 minutes? If a place doesn't know its ingredients and can't keep dinner menu together till 6 PM, you shouldn't be in business. Sad and pathetic. Do not spend the time looking for parking and walking the distance to this place. If this is what you are to expect from the hotel too, do not waste your cash here or the hotel.
JD F — Google review
A wonderful, charming spot right above Mirror Lake. The view from the window is stunning, and the food is absolutely delicious—every dish is pure delight. The fact that you allow dogs to join their families during meals makes the experience even more exceptional. Thank you for providing such an amazing opportunity. Grateful on behalf of our family and our four-legged daughter! 🐾❤️

Nestled on the shores of Mirror Lake, Smoke Signals is a renowned American dining spot offering a wide variety of mouthwatering dishes. The restaurant provides a pleasant atmosphere and features a lakeside terrace for outdoor dining, live music on select evenings, and an impressive selection of beers on tap. With its brick-lined space and lakefront patio, it's the perfect place to savor barbecue favorites while enjoying the scenic views.
What a great find. Just arrived in Lake Placid mid afternoon after a day of hiking and saw the sign outside of Smoke Signals saying Happy Hour, and outdoor lakeside patio, so headed in, and so glad I did. Was escorted out to their patio deck bar right at the waterfront, just when I thought I hit jackpot with the view, the food and drink didn’t disappoint. Great happy hour offerings. Had an unbelievable all dressed nachos with rib meat, corn, beans, cheese, salsa, all over won tons! A complete game changer, forget nacho chips, wontons is the way to go, absolutely delicious, polished it off along with an order of potato skins, and washed it all down with a mudslide, and I was happy happy. The view, food, drink and of course the great staff, this place is a gem. Will definitely go back, highly recommended.
Rosey — Google review
We decided to try this place because it had the highest ratings in town. While the food wasn’t bad, it honestly didn’t live up to the hype. It felt more like a “view-first” restaurant — the kind of place that gets attention more for the scenery than the actual dining experience. Our server was lovely — warm and friendly, which we really appreciated. But the experience took a turn when the outdoor heater suddenly turned off on a chilly, windy day. A man (possibly a staff member or manager) came over to change the gas for the table next to us. When we politely asked about ours, he responded curtly, saying, “We don’t have that much gas!” in a very rude tone. His attitude was cold and dismissive the entire time — walking around with a scowl, making it uncomfortable for guests who came to enjoy a meal. The wings were tasty, and the brisket came in a huge portion — Honestly, it might be better to reduce the portion a bit and offer a more reasonable price. (It was $42) The side dishes, like the coleslaw and apple slaw, were just ok nothing special — and honestly felt a bit poorly prepped. The vegetables felt like they’d been chopped in a rush — roughly prepped, and the red onions especially stood out — huge, uneven chunks that felt like they were just hastily chopped and tossed in. The mac and cheese was also quite heavy and lacked finesse. Service was very slow, possibly due to being short-staffed — it took quite a while just to get our check. And speaking of the check, seeing a pre-suggested 30% tip on the receipt was a bit off-putting, especially after such a mixed experience. Overall, without the view, I’m not sure this restaurant would have the same reputation. A lot of potential, but the hospitality and execution need improvement to justify the hype.

Wow! The food was breathtaking. The ribs, the chicken, veggies, and corn bread and biscuits were perfect. This place had the BEST ribs that I have ever had, and that is hands down. I will be back to LAKE PLACID next time with my family, this time was for business. The first place that I am going to eat at is Smoke Signals. I rate this place a perfect 10!

Honestly it was absolutely amazing. I have eaten a lot of wings in my lifetime and these are the best I have every had. Smoked with the house bbq 😋 Just wow. Got the nachos with pulled pork. Those were delicious as well. The service was excellent. Absolutely top notch place. The prices seem steep but after eating the food i was happy to pay them. The whole place was amazing. Absolutely beautiful and had a great view. Very nice outdoor seating area , we did not get to use it because it was cold and raining but next time I am in town I certainly will try. I would have to call this a "must stop" place in lake placid.

I see why this place is packed every time we visit Lake Placid, the BBQ here is awesome! The restaurant is also really beautiful inside with amazing views, and the service today was great. We had what was probably one of the best pulled pork sandwiches and pieces of corn bread ever. We couldn't recommend Smoke Signals highly enough. It's one of the nicest restaurants to visit in the Lake Placid area.

We had an awesome experience at the breakfast club. Service was great and the view of th lake was amazing. The food was tasty. We ordered omelet, crab Benedict, waffle and hot chocolate for kids along with kids burger and eggs. All in all, it was great. Our server was very nice.

This is the kind of place that makes you pause mid-bite just to process what’s happening. The views are magical. Every dish served was absolutely delicious. The house potatoes were my favorite side dish I genuinely considered asking for a duffle bag to go. Their signature pancakes were perfect and I haven’t even talked about their maple syrup is dangerously too good. Service was on point, prices made sense, and honestly—if you are in Lake Placid definitely go visit ☕️🥞🍁

It was wonderful. The space is huge inside, but this is a very popular spot. The four of us waited about 10 min to get a table. Everything was delicious. The window view was great. Kids had a wonderful time. The people who worked there were nice and professional.

The food was delicious!! We ordered the biscuits and gravy—the biscuits were so light and fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside; the gravy was so rich and had a nice onion flavor. We also ordered a side of corned beef hash that hit the spot and 1 pancake that was perfect to share. The cinnamon butter and maple syrup were heaven.

Cute place right on Mirror lake, so the views are nice. Staff was super friendly. We had to wait about 15 minutes for 2 people on a Sat around 11am. Drinks were good. Food was ok. Nothing too special. Glad we experienced it.

I wanted to love this spot but the food was disappointing, hash browns were cold and not flavorful. I got the cheddar biscuit sandwich however the biscuit was dry. My friend got an omelette and there was no cheese even though she specified that she wanted cheese. The avocado was also not fresh. Overall the food felt like it had been sitting for a while even though the service was fast.
Abbey — Google review
We tried four different breakfast dishes. The waffle sandwich was disappointing — it wasn’t really a waffle, more like an over-crispy pancake mix. The burrito was decent but nothing memorable. The cappuccino was also underwhelming — too much milk, weak espresso, and no latte art. Was it worth CAD 150? Unfortunately, no worth the view

It's a great spot for a quick meal after a morning hike, offering nearly 50 sandwich fillings on the menu, including build-your-own options. From classic favorites like the Armstrong to specialty creations like the Big Slide, there's something for everyone.
Stopped by for lunch with my husband. I ordered the Italian wedding soup and he had the Seward sandwich. We both liked our orders. We also shared a lemon blueberry crepe which was delicious. The service was fast and there were some cute tables by the window.

Some banging sandwiches, decent prices. 44 (Chicken with other stuff) comes with a lotttt of grilled chicken and it’s really good. The roast beef is delicious. Overall, you can tell they use quality ingredients. My one qualm is that more of the sandwiches should come toasted my default. Like roast beef with cheese should be toasted. Just sayin. Their fun lattes are also a delicious sweet treat. I really liked both the peppermint mocha and coconut mocha. Took about 10 minutes to get our sandwiches after ordering, and waited around 10 mins in line (in August on a Saturday)

First time here we ordered sandwiches which did have generous portions of the ingredients but the second time no so much. The person making the sandwich put less in the sandwich and forgot to add the provolone cheese for the Marshall sandwich. We were disappointed when we got back to our hotel room for lunch and opened it up. For almost $14 not worth it. It was tasty but not prepared properly. I did call to let them know just so the workers preparing the food are more careful.

Big Mountain Creperie is an absolute must-visit in Lake Placid! They have 46 different sandwiches named after the Adirondack peaks — such a fun and unique touch. We tried the banana Nutella breakfast crêpe (amazing!) and the spinach, mushroom, and feta omelette (delicious, fresh, and satisfying). The food comes out hot and flavorful, and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming even when the place is buzzing with people. A cozy, busy spot that delivers both charm and great food every single time.

We had this place daily for either breakfast or lunch and it was amazing! They had plenty of options for sandwiches and get to choose your own bread (which was very fresh). Their breakfast was also delicious and we’d always share a crepe for dessert which was made fresh right in front of us. Superb coffees along with very friendly and courteous staff make this place our favorite. We’re going to miss this place back in Dallas when we get home!

I had the Gothics sandwich. It was delicious. Also, I was shocked at the speed at which it was ready. I came in at lunch time and the sandwich was in my hands in a few short minutes. I'll certainly be back.

Stopped in for a late lunch. Food was delicious, wait was not too long and we were able to get seating. I highly recommend a visit here. Crepes in particular were so good! Lock on the bathroom door didn't work so be sure to use the hook and eye to keep those that don't knock first out. Parking in downtown Lake Placid is impossible but it is a good walking town so that makes up for it.

Smoked salmon sandwich was so good! My group all loved their crepes too. We ordered takeout and enjoyed it in the nearby park. Would come back.

After walking around town, this was the perfect dog friendly restaurant. Not only did my dog have his own water bowl but they also had a dog menu of grilled chicken. The fish & chips as well as the Chicken sandwich was absolutely delicious!!! He also got his own bandana

Amazing place to get delicious food!! Can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The pulled pork nachos are exceptional ! I didn’t have the beer but everyone seems to enjoy it. The vibe inside is lake placid too 100%. The bar is a good place to sit and relax as well. I’ve come have several times !

In town for a few days and after passing by many, many times on previous trips to LP, decided to stop and bring my pup to sit on the heated puppy patio since we could time it perfectly before it was too packed to get a seat. The host was awesome and even offered to bring my lil pup his own chair! There's even a dog water bowl for pups to grab drinks from. And if that wasn't perfect enough, I noticed a small pup menu item section on the menu. Amazing! Pup loved his grilled chicken and I loved my meal. The homemade draft root beer is amazing as well. We loved our server who was fantastic too!!

Great location and good food. We had fish tacos, nachos and fish n chips and they both were good. Staff was friendly. Manager was rude, but I'd still give it 4 stars because of our server and the food.

visiting this place the first time, we were in this town for the weekend so thought of eating here. the place was beautiful from inside and outside, the service was great too. there is available wifi. the drinks were okish, not that great and the food quantity was pretty good, like the cheese nachos a lot. the experience was good overall.

Friendly staff and great food. We were traveling with our dogs and were looking for a dog friendly place to eat and this is it! We ate on the terrace and even our pups were served a nice bowl of water. I will return to this place when I'm in the area and recommend it to anyone going to Lake Placid.

The place was bustling with patrons there for both dinner and a seat at the bar. After a quick wait we were seated at our table. Despite being busy our server was very attentive and drinks and dinner came out before we knew it. A warm hearty meal perfect for a cold December night!

Dancing Bears Restaurant, located in High Peaks Resort, has been a beloved dining spot in Lake Placid since the 1980 Olympics. The restaurant offers a variety of American fare including breakfast, burgers, and salads. While enjoying your meal, you can take in the picturesque views of the Adirondacks from the patio. In addition to its delicious food offerings, Dancing Bears also features a good selection of icy cold beers and hosts live music on Friday and Saturday nights at its lounge.
Everything about this restaurant—the food, service, and atmosphere—is exceptional! It has been a favorite spot in Lake Placid for many years. A special shoutout to kitchen supervisor Luis for his politeness and professionalism. We ordered fish tacos for a special dinner and couldn’t stop thinking about them for weeks, so we had to come back for our favorite fish tacos and quesadilla! The staff is fantastic. Thank you, Luis!

Nice bar and grill on the main drag of lake placid. We stop by regularly every time we are visiting lake placid. The foods are standard bar and grill offerings but with a nice touch. They do update their menu new offerings once a while. The location and view are great, you over look at the mirror lake and can people watch the pedestrians hanging out in downtown lake placid. The servers are always super friendly and fun. We love it much better than the black bears across the street. :D

Nice place. Wanted a small serving meal and this was a good choice. I got the Blackened shrimp taco but unfortunately it wasn’t blackened!? Server was gray atmosphere was good. Have a 4 overall for not blackening the shrimp.

We went to Dancing Bears with a group of 6 for a bachelor party and had a great time! The restaurant was super clean and really easy to get to right from downtown Lake Placid. The food was excellent, and the staff were all super friendly. Our waitress even surprised one of our group with a little birthday cake, which was a really nice touch. Prices were pretty average for this type of place, and overall the experience was great. Definitely would recommend it and would go again!

The place is centrally located by Mirror Lake and on the Main Street. Beautiful rustic decor and has a bar inside it as well. The food was good and brought soon after placing the order. Our server Carlos was amazing. Very courteous and eloquent and nice. We could see the mountain and lakes from our table. The older lady at the bar whereas, was rude. All she did was stay at the bar upset and complaining (murmuring out loud) about how she hates the place, hates the bar etc etc. when we asked for help she was rude & literally yelling. Other than that, the food is something can bring you back.

I spent 2 weeks in Lake Placid and stayed at the High Peaks Resort. I ate almost everyday at the Dancing Bears Restaurant. I think I've had at least 70% of their menu and the food was great. I must say though, the breakfast sausages were sooooo good. I could eat pans of them. I ordered them for dinner a couple times too. The kitchen was accommodating and I really appreciated that. And for being a resort town, the price to food portion and quality is quite palatable. The staff are such kind people (and good looking too). I enjoyed hearing their stories. They even know when I've had a tougher morning tham usual and immediately brought me coffee.

I am stuffed and happy. This is a great place with an excellent menu, friendly staff, and full selection of both local and craft beers (including Athletic). I had the ribs, and they were fall apart good, with some tasty sauce, and the fries were perfect. Very friendly staff.

It was our first night in Lake Placid, and we spotted The Pickled Pig—a BBQ joint that looked promising. As someone who’s pretty critical about BBQ (it’s my go-to dish whenever I dine out), I was eager to try it but left disappointed. We ordered a couple of baby back ribs, though based on their size, I’m not convinced they were actually baby backs. The meat was juicy and cooked well, but it was drowned in sauce to the point that we had to scrape it off. The sauce itself had a strong tomato-paste taste and just didn’t work for us. We also tried three types of wings. The mango habanero was bland and needed salt and extra Tabasco just to give it flavor. The garlic parmesan didn’t taste like garlic parm at all—instead, it was covered in clumps of wet cheese. The dry rub wings were the best of the bunch, but still just average. For a place that advertised “Best Wings of 2019,” something has definitely changed since then. On a better note, the burger was juicy and well-prepared, and the staff was friendly—we were greeted and made to feel welcome. However, we also noticed that the pricing felt high, especially the kids’ menu. I wouldn’t mind paying a premium if the food delivered, but in this case, it just didn’t. Overall, while the service was good and the burger was decent, the BBQ and wings didn’t meet expectations. For true BBQ lovers, this spot might fall short.
Bobby B — Google review
The smothered nachos were enough for 4 people. I wish it didn't come with the Moab BBQ sauce. It made it very soggy. The overall flavor was so rich. The killer mango shrimp taco insides were so good. But the shells for the tacos were so gross. They tasted old. Broke apart on the second bite.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had an absolutely fantastic experience at The Pickled Pig! From the moment I walked in, the staff were warm, friendly, and attentive. The food was outstanding — everything made in‑house, from their sauces to the smoked meats, shows real care and passion. Their wings and burgers were especially memorable. The atmosphere is casual and inviting, with indoor and outdoor seating, and the live music adds a fun, lively touch in the evenings. I also loved seeing how much effort they put into sourcing fresh ingredients and making things from scratch. Top-notch service, great food, and a place I’ll definitely return to. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting Lake Placid!

Came here after hiking Mt. Marcy and I had serious hiker hunger. I got the crack burger and added bacon. Burger was decent, but I would've eaten anything after that hike. I also tried the peanut butter and jelly old-fashioned, which was awesome. Service was ok. I felt like I was being rushed. The place has great atmosphere with live music, an outside firepit, etc.

This is a gem! What a beautiful place. We have been to Lake Placid many times and I assure you The Interlaken Inn is truly in a class by itself. We had dinner here earlier this month, the food was great, the drinks very well made, the atmosphere beautiful, and our host Regina filled us in on all the things Lake Placid. The bar has a copper top, as well as an antique copper ceiling.
Vanbrabant1 — Google review
I hate leaving bad reviews, but I hope this helps not just people interested in booking this place, but also the people who run it, you have a nice place there, take it as constructive criticism. We just came back from spending some days to celebrate my birthday, and for the price paid, our room didn't have hand soap nor body wash. We told this to one employee that we saw the first night we stayed hoping she would pass the message, but that didn't happen. We had to go to the drugstore and buy our own soaps. Also, I'm not sure if this is common, but we were left alone the whole weekend. We were on our own, not that we needed anything, but in case we did, no one was around. No one asked how we were doing, how was our room, nothing. On the website it said that bathrobes were provided... but nope. The room was okayish, but the carpet had big bleach stains. the "$199" discounted price for the low season could be lowered even more since we basically took care of ourselves. Coffee/tea and stale pastries could do better. So, if you're looking for a place to stay, take this into consideration. If you don't care for room service, the area is definitely beautiful.

This is one of Lake Placid’s most beautiful inns and restaurants. The bar is absolutely gorgeous and so cozy. We enjoyed cocktails and dinner; my tuna tartare appetizer was especially good. This fine restaurant has been hit hard by Canadian tariffs and loss of business. Hope economic times improve, because the Interlaken is a true Adirondack gem.

1) Party of 6. 2) Restaurant was essentially empty, but our food took nearly 70 minutes to prepare. 3). The waitress/bartender was less than enthusiastic. 4) Bill included a 20% gratuity because we were a party of 6 - I DID NOT SEE THAT ON THE BILL - so gave her an extra bump! She cleared nearly $200 tip for a lousy experience and the food was only MEH!

The restaurant is outstanding. A league above everything else I tried this week in Placid, and the prices were reasonable! Absolutely worth what you’re paying. I loved the gorgonzola squash ravioli, the roast duck with mushroom risotto, and the gnudi. Hate of to the chef!

My boyfriend and I came to spend the weekend for the Lake Placid Ironman and absolutely loved our stay. We felt so strongly about it that I am writing my first ever review. We felt at home from the moment we were greeted at check-in. Elizabeth and Beth were great hosts and made sure we were comfortable with the room and gave us recommendations around the area. They checked on us often and were lovely company. Our room was great. We were able to go in and out of the kitchen as we pleased to use the sink and microwave as we brought a lot of our own food. We met Chef JJ and he truly elevated our stay— even making my boyfriend fresh brioche buns for his pre-race breakfast. The amount of effort and dedication he puts into the restaurant is incredible. We felt extremely welcome at the Inn and would recommend it to anyone staying in the area. We will definitely be back and cannot wait to review the restaurant.

This rating is only for the restaurant. Such a shame, this used to be our favorite place. But under the new management this restaurant went down the hill. The restaurant had a dismal atmosphere, and the food was terrible! Tasted like food from the can. The only well done were our drinks. But the female server looked miserable and brought a martini with 1 olive asking if we really want more, then she would have to go somewhere to get them…?!😭 Hate to write such a bad review, especially for the local community where is hard to survive nowadays, but I have to be honest.

Took our visiting friends here for dinner. Being a local I know where the good places are, but I had not tried here. After reading other reviews we decided to try it. We were not disappointed. We were able to get a table for six right away. Very friendly staff and management. Dinner prices were comparative to other places in the area. The food was outstanding. Many choices on the menu and list of specials. We all had something different and zero complaints. Large portions of very tasty food. I had the hot Chicken Caesar salad and brought half home. Chicken grilled perfectly. Lots of take home boxes. We all had water, but there was an extensive beverage menu.

Really enjoyed the food and the service was great. It is on the pricier side, and while there are lots of great options in the area, this one still delivers a solid experience. Delicious strawberry margarita!

My family and I dined here as a group of ten (along with some squabbling babies in tow), and the staff was incredible accommodating. Getting a table at the far side of the restaurant, with perfect views of the lake, felt like winning the lottery. The menu has a diner-like variety and the food is decent. The burgers were the clear favorite. It was ordered by most of our party, and it's pretty stacked with veggies, bacon, AND two sausage slices (a random topping, but who's going to complain about more processed protein? Not me!). Anyone who ordered fries at the table had to endure sharing with those who didn't because they arrived irresistibly hot and fresh. A few things fell just a little flat. The mozzarella wrap was a little plain and bland, and someone who ordered the French onion soup ended up scraping most of the cheese layer off, pronouncing it to be just 'a little too much'. But throughout our meal, service was polite and responsive, making it a great spot to grab a bite in spite of the few meal falls. The views are likely the best part of dining here, especially if you're lucky enough to snag a spot closest to the waterfront views. We were too large a group to take advantage, but if you're a smaller party and the weather's favorable, I'd definitely ask about getting a seat up on the second floor patio where I'd bet the view of Mirror Lake would be even more stunning.

Have to go off of our two visits. I love this place and always go here. First day I did the ADK Burger and side salad. I have to say it was awesome. The second day I tried the Haddock with side salad and fries. The one side of the haddock was hard and chewy. Just the end. I did not complain or say anything as the rest of it was excellent. I ate it all and I will continue to go here. Obviously we hit up this restaurant two out of the two days we were in town 😂. My wife got the Turkey club sandwich and said it was very good. So good ordered it for both times we went there.

Found this place off the beaten path when we got into Placid around dinner time on a Friday. Surprised to find it wasn't very busy and 7 of us got seated right away. Nice variety on the menu and good prices for the area. Food took a little longer than expected and our waiter while apologized didn't come check if we needed drinks ect during our wait.

It was ok. We wanted to sit outside but we ended up inside. We sat down and nobody came, we waited for awhile so then we went inside. When we went inside there were maybe three tables open, two small and a larger one. We were seated at the smaller one. I was not impressed by the waitress giving two people a larger table over 4 people. We had barely any room at our table to eat. Meanwhile the other group of two people had plenty of room at the bigger one. We ordered the nachos as an appetizer and they were not the best. I would not get these again. My burger was good, however the fries seemed a little over cooked and plain. The Cajun chicken looked very dry and did not taste the best. The fish was good though. We ordered a Pepsi at first, it was flat. So we ordered a Mountain Dew, again flat. It was a nice environment with a nice staff. I would say they need more staff seeing as she mentioned twice it was just the two of them serving. We were there for about an hour and a half. Be prepared to wait around.

The 2 of us came in twice this summer, both times after an all day highpeak or slide climb. Both times were at or around 10pm and full menu was still offered. In 15years, you have never let me down with a bad meal. With as many establishments around you that open and close, your place should be a role model for quality and amazing staff. Your servers are always on point and are genuine people. Your quality and passion for great food shows. Even when you're at peak volume and full of red Union jumpsuits stumbling around (congrats to them, they deserved to own the place that night). We were able to find solice in a phenomenal meal at your back corner table. Thank you for always being there with amazing nachos, fish&chips, and hand spun Ranch. Your TarTar is crazy good, I usually don't dig on sweet pickles. See you again soon!

We loved this place. Delicious authentic food. The owner told us his mother makes all the Peruvian dishes and they taste exactly like a “mom” would make. The drinks were delicious and the prices were extremely fair. The best food we had in lake placid.
Evelin I — Google review
My family and I have been coming to Lake Placid for nearly 30 years. We’ve seen dozens of restaurants open and close throughout our years here. There is definitely a lack of diversity when it comes to food in this town, so we decided to try Sol de Oro as we get a bit tired of American and Italian food. We were surprised at how empty the restaurant was on a Friday night, considering the restaurants on the busy part of Main Street have 45-60 minute waits MINIMUM on weekends. There was only one other group in the restaurant which isn’t always a great sign. Our waiter (cannot recall his name unfortunately) and his family are working tirelessly to provide a great experience for their customers. He took the time to educate us on the variety of Peruvian dishes they have to offer and even was very knowledgeable about gluten free dishes as a few of us are celiac. He explained his mom is the chef and puts a lot of love into the dishes, which we learned was absolutely true. Everyone in our group that ordered authentic Peruvian dishes absolutely loved it. Two people in the group ordered American dishes which they weren’t THRILLED with, but we told them it’s because they ordered wrong at a Peruvian restaurant! It’s easily become one of my new favorite meals in the town, and I wish I could bring in more clientele for them, as they absolutely deserve the attention/business. I look forward to our next visit there, and will encourage anyone I can to give it a try! I ordered the Bistek a lo pobre and two people ordered the arroz chaufa and both dishes were 10/0!!!

It's a family-run business with a good mix of food! Great for people who want to try something new and for people who are less adventurous. The mother cooked an amazing Peruvian dish called lomo saltado. I ate every bite! We also got a great chicken panini there. Very friendly service there. Highly recommend!

First time trying Peruvian food and it was a 10/10. The location, the atmosphere and the employees were great ! Highly recommend if you’re in the lake placid area. Won’t disappoint :)
Casto V — Google review
This is a family run restaurant and was very well managed. The waiter recommended some Peruana food and it did not disappoint. Hubby got the Lomo Saitado and I had the Lamb stew. Food came out pretty fast and so much food we couldn't even finish our plates. Everything was delicious.
Missy H — Google review
Tried the Peruvian food for the first time and it was super delicious! Our waiter told us that it’s a family business and his mom is cooking the food, so it’s definitely authentic! Highly recommend this place to visit!

I have no clue why people gave such good reviews. Maybe I came on a bad day. I had a burrito with chicken. The chicken was rough as if it was old and the whole burrito didn’t taste well. So half way I opened it to see what I was actually eating. Decide for yourself.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Lake Placid, Zig Zags Pub is a favorite among locals and visitors alike. This lively pub attracts a vibrant under-30 crowd and offers a relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy upstate New York's finest craft beers, play darts, and listen to live music. With plenty of seating, an ample bar, and friendly staff like bartender Dave, it's the perfect spot to unwind after a day of exploring the mountains.
Best bar in Lake Placid. No comparison. Great energy, atmosphere, staff. Clean and fun. Touch tunes to play your own music. Dave is the best bartender west of the Mississippi. Pours a mean one. Silly goofy guy. You’ll find him in Wilmington!
Katherine S — Google review
Always go to Zig Zays when I'm in Lake Placid and want a late drink. Only bar open late and a solid dive. If you're expecting anything more, your expectations aren't based in reality. Grow up, relax, and have a drink at ZZP.
Donald M — Google review
Had to be DD during a celebration. Asked for water or even a pitcher just to make her job easier than pouring glasses, for myself and 8 in my party. Bartender said I have to buy bottled instead of serving straight tap for 8 of my companions. Charged me 27 dollars altogether for a diet coke and 8 bottles of water. Lesson learned, bring your own water.
Allison A — Google review
Extremely disappointed with the service my friend and I received here from the blonde tattooed bartender. We were both disrespected while ordering and paying. The bartender’s attitude was horrendous. We simply ordered a few drinks and she acted inconvenienced and annoyed. We closed our tab and that was also evidently an issue for her. My recommendation to the bar is have a staff that welcomes your tourist heavy customers.
Luke D — Google review
Fun bar in downtown Lake Placid, street parking is scarce but there is a paid municipal lot. Plenty of seating and an ample bar we were able to find a seat on a Saturday afternoon. Good beer list with plenty of draft and cans to choose from. Bartender was very friendly. They even fill crowlers to-go! Will definitely be back

If you’re looking for the locals Lake Placid dive bar, look no further than this! Awesome spot, friendly people and reasonable prices on drinks.
Doug — Google review
Very chill bar that fits perfectly in with the vibe of a ski town. From the photos and my experience, there are often friendly dogs here! Solid pool table and darts. Be sure to take a look at the old photos scattered around to bar. Great place to stop in for a few drinks or spend the whole night.
Andrew W — Google review
Similar to other reviews: this place is cool and Lake Placid is awesome. However some of the staff here and a couple local patrons were just rude for some reason. Bartender was sticking up for a girl he has probably been in love with for a decade (there was no actual issue) and then the girl out front seemed to be the owner’s daughter or something which apparently entitled her to a smug attitude she simply couldn’t be bothered to be nice to a customer because obviously new ones come every weekend. Oh well.

Cloudsplitter Rooftop Bar, located at the Grand Adirondack Hotel, is a newly opened rooftop venue offering a great view of the Adirondacks. It's considered to be the only rooftop bar in the area and provides a chill atmosphere for enjoying drinks and taking in the stunning city skyline. The bar offers a range of cocktails at reasonable prices and operates on weekends from 2 pm to 10 pm.
Great little rooftop bar on the main drag with good view of the Adirondacks. I believe it's the only rooftop venue in the area. They made some good Old Fashioneds and it wasn't too busy, even for the middle of July. Can't find any first world problem complaints really - just a chill place to have a drink, take in the view and enjoy yourself!
Justin F — Google review
The view is pretty nice. High view above buildings across the street so you can see the lake (though you have some obstruction from the roof of the same building). The view is the only reason this isn’t a 1-star review. The cocktails were terrible. Generic and tasteless. A shock because we came last winter and got fantastic cocktails downstairs. A specific example is the old-fashioned: why was there a curated menu the last time we came and this time we get muddled orange and cherry? Gross and unsophisticated. Another issue: the bourbon smash. Tastes like a hint of lemon and ice water. Not tasty and not worth the cash.
John C — Google review
For a Marriot-funded location, I had higher hopes for the ambiance of the rooftop. 50% of the view is fantastic, the other 50% is blocked by the roof itself. You can kinda get an unobstructed view from one of the corners, but meh. Drink prices are on par with all the other expensive places on Main Street. Needs some fun lighting, plants and cozier seating.
Jacqueline V — Google review
Went to CloudSplitter for a drink with our 10 lb. dog. The view was stunning but the bar was self-service with full-service prices. The website advertises "artisanal handcrafted cocktails", we thought the drinks were terrible. I didn't like the Lemon Bourbon Smash or the Spicy Margarita, they both tasted watered down. My opinion is, you pay for the view when you come here.
Michelle — Google review
Disappointing is the only way to describe it. My husband and I have come here since they opened for the past 2 years and have noticed it’s gone down hill significantly. The first year they had wonderful cocktails, attentive staff, and tabletop s’mores (bring back the s’mores!). Last year, the drinks were good but they never really had any food. This time was just disappointing. I ordered this coconut drink (Champlain breeze) and I’m not even sure what’s in it based on how it was made. The woman made it in front of me squirting the white coconut cream and then over poured the Malibu rum (it’s supposed to have Kraken per the menu) into the glass. When the top of the Malibu fell off into my glass - instead of making it over - she just poured out some of the rum and added in the rest of the ingredients. I’m in my late 30s and this drink tasted like something I drank as a freshman in college. All this while blaring “Stacy’s mom” brought me back about 20 years (but not in a good way). The Mediterranean plate took about 30 mins to get to us and we found a hair in it. It just turned us off entirely and we left before we finished our drinks This place could be amazing and really competitive with the other higher end bars in the area, but it needs to be brought up to Marriott’s standards. I should have just ordered a tanqueray and tonic…
Sarah W — Google review
Stupid expensive cocktails. The equivalent of what you'd get at a concert hall. Not enough seating to view the lake. If you're in the back, the view is blocked by the umbrellas up front. Which, who needs those at night? Waaaaay to overpriced. I would not tell anyone to go here.
Damaris R — Google review
We went to grab a drink and check out the view. For $17 I ordered a blackberry mojito. I would expect more than a pre-made mix that just gets sprite added to it, but thats what I got. I also had parsley put in it instead of mint, which was gross. The view is cool but everything else about the place is completely lackluster and not worth the money. Because of all these factors we quickly finished our drinks and found somewhere else to spend our money.
Christopher P — Google review
Absolutely Beautiful views but staff was rude, non personable, didnt come to help us or even direct us to self service bar, left tables dirty, didnt have any deserts or half of what is on the menu. It would be much better if it was run correctly

Brewery
Big Slide Brewery & Public House is a laid-back brewery and tap room located in Lake Placid, offering a variety of small plates, pizza, and Sunday Brunch options along with 10 rotating beers. Situated near the ski jumps, the brewery provides ample parking and a spacious interior with an open view of the brewing area. The menu features a wide selection of sandwiches, pizzas, and entrees made from locally sourced ingredients.
No complaints at all! The beer was cold (as was the wine) and the food was quite good. We tried the “Boomer” pizza as well as “the burger”. During busy times the wait for a pizza is a little longer than usual but it’s totally worth waiting for. The burger was cooked perfectly and the onion/bacon jam was a nice complement to the burger. I would definitely want to come here in the evening and take advantage of sitting outside in the Adirondack chairs by the fire (not seen in any photos). I’m sure we will be back!
Aysha R — Google review
5.16.25 we loved our drinks and the vibe here, but we just didn't luck out with our dinner. Maybe it was just our bad luck that our wings were undercooked (not fried enough), and the pizza was extra greasy. But that happens sometimes. This place was busy, and it seems like the locals love it too. There's indoor and outdoor dining and a bar, so if you're not into beer, you have many other options.
Margaret H — Google review
This establishment is a little outside of town with great friendly atmosphere. Indoor dining & outdoor dining (try to reserve was full when we arrived at 1:30 pm), so we opted for highboy table by the window instead. Our waitress was super friendly, very knowledgeable about the menu & attentive. Her name escapes me but she deserves a kudos( she’s from Belgrade). Our food arrived quickly & was terrific. My summer salad was cold, crust & delish. The fries that came with the fried chicken were superb! Lightly salted, crisp & cooked to perfection. Not sure how the chef did the fries but they were greaseless. No complaints from anyone.
Lisa B — Google review
Big Slide Brewery surpassed every expectation. The industrial chic design and peek at the brewing tanks created a vibrant yet cozy backdrop. Their beer selection offered something for everyone from crisp, fruit forward options to bold IPAs and porters. The real stars were the food. The buffalo style wings with Serrano oil were explosively flavorful and honestly the one best wing sauce I’ve ever had (and I lived in Buffalo). The birria pizza was rich, cheesy, and packed full of savory goodness. The cider was light, refreshing, and the perfect match with the hearty dishes. Friendly service, excellent atmosphere, and creative food made this a standout spot. I cannot wait to come back.
Chanel S — Google review
Outstanding beers...and remarkably awesome food options! And dog friendly with a very social outdoor patio. Luv this place. It is a confirmed stop every visit to Lake Placid.
Joseph A — Google review
The restaurant has a waitlist and took about 40-45 mins to get a table on a Friday summer evening. Wheat Dreams was a refreshing pour. White and black bean falafel was amazing. The place is busy and they took about 30 minutes to get the food to the table after order. Overall a good experience.
Sailee — Google review
As McArthur said “I shall return”. Great place to chill and eat. Servers were great. The Firebird Chicken and the Brewhouse reloaded salad, both were delicious and plenty of it.
Artemas — Google review
Great brews and food! My wife had the individual, "Never Sau-Sage a Pizza," which was excellent and would've have easily sufficed for us both. Big slide burger and two delicious Foggy Googles IPAs for me along with among the crispiest fries I've ever had. Superb similarly locally sourced house starter salads for us both. Topped off with a surprisingly tasty and crunchy Grilled Butternut Squash Poundcake with caramel sauce and obviously house made whipped cream. Most of which was highly recommended and cheerfully served by our waitress Bailey P. The house made brioche bun of my burger could have used toasting as the only suggested improvement. In summary, definitely top notch and highly recommended if you're in the mood for pub food in a relaxed atmosphere away from the crowds and parking hassles of downtown Lake Placid.
