I went to the Chengdu Main Store very near to Ritz Carlton Chengdu. The crowd usually kicks in 7pm onwards. I went in 6pm and 6.30pm, almost full but no need to wait The portion of food was generous. So usually will be too much for 2 person but good for 3-4 person. I will rate it 5 stars if it has less salt. Almost all dishes are salty. I am someone who like saltier food, if i said it was salty, it really was too much. So maybe you can try asking if they can put lesser salt.

We stopped here for a quick, no fuss lunch and amongst other dishes we ordered the classic mapo tofu. This was delicious - much richer and spicier than the Southern Chinese versions of this dish. Give the dan dan mian a miss though - it was a little dry.

We came here for lunch for 2 consecutive days. There is no english menu hence we have to rely on the photo in reviews to order. Service is prompt even though there is 10 min queue. Food is delicious but too salty. I had sore throat from eating the spicy food . Price is very reasonable and the portion is big.

A phonemonal hot pot restaurant. Their spicy broth is not for the faint hearted. They do have mushroom base mild version as well. The staff were very attentive and helpful when dealing with us (no one in our group knows Mandarin).

Best Mexican in Chengdu. It was super delicious. We ordered the Chip platter, ground beef tacos, steak fajitas, and Philly cheese steak. Everything was very very good.

I've known Peter for over 10 years and my family and I are regulars at Peter's restaurants in Chengdu. He has a few. The best one is the one in Tongzilin. It has a little play area for small kids and a decent outdoor patio. As far as the food goes, nothing really stands out. Peter knows that. But, the point of Peter's for a Westerner living in Chengdu is that it is a place where you can get a meal like back home and in very good portions for the money. That is what he is tapped into. It's a casual atmosphere where you can kick back and not have to worry about there being something for everyone on the menu; because there is. I was in student-teaching in Chengdu for almost 3 months a few years ago and Pete's Tex-Mex became a huge favorite for us! If you are in Chengdu and you are craving some good American food that isn't Popeyes, KFC or Mickey D's - Try this! The prices are good and you can even get a cheesesteak sandwich here!

The place is going downhill very fast. Waiters no longer can speak English. Don't know what they have or don't have. And flavor also going down. Wait staff doesn't pat attention to customers any more you have to basically jump up and down to get their attention. 😥

After 3 weeks in China Peters was a respite from hot pot and unfamiliar food items. Being a native of Texas I found the Tex-Mex to be a welcomed reprieve for the palette, margarita pretty much on the money and the beer cold.

English is very basic among the staff but they do a great job at trying. Such good western type food though. A bit expensive but well worth every bit!

Pretty restaurant with good quality food. We ordered 鱼香肉丝 (fish flavoured shredded pork) and it was so yummy!!!!! Bamboo shoots was their seasonal special, yummy too. Kungpao chicken was a bit too oily for us 🫣.

Located at the heart of Chengdu, it's very close to the famous Wu Hou Shrine where we visited after the lunch there. Nice traditional Sichuan food with flavour of Chinese herbs and medicine. There is also a nicely constructed Chinese garden in the restaurant, brilliant place to take photos.

Great traditional Sichuan food. Can be spicy, but not overwhelmingly so. Every dish we tried was delicious, and you have to respect a place with hundreds of years of history and people lining up for seats that still keeps the quality this high and the prices this low.

This is a pretty well know restaurant here in Chengdu, reservation is highly recommended even though it is a large restaurant with 3 floors. Nicely decorated with an antique flavor, even with a garden dining area. The dishes were all quite delicious, especially the dark chicken soup!

Sichuan Local hand cut noodle experiences!

Very easy to find as is just literally opposite to one of the entrances of the Monastery, and the location in the map is quite accurate. Very busy place you just order and pay, get a ticket and collect the food. Then you sit wherever you want. The sweet water noodles (the thicker noodles with the brown sauce) are amazing!!!

This place is known for their 甜水面 (tian shui mian) or sweet water noodles, which are so toothsome and chewy and somehow are sweet and spicy at the same time that I bet you can't eat just one bowl. There is often not enough seating in this place, but if you wait a bit someone will get up. Very quick and friendly.

Excellent delicious food. Can't go wrong with their signature liangpi spicy dish. As well their Chinese hamburger dish was delicious. There's a separate location to get takeout orders as there's fairly limited seating available especially during high traffic hours. Prices are very reasonable. Service is efficient and food comes fast.

As a Chinese family visiting from London, we all were craving some western food after having so much Chinese food. It tasted amazing and the food all came out really quickly! The staff are very accommodating to English speakers and the cocktails they make are pretty yummy. It wasn’t busy and it’s around loads of great shops so I’d definitely recommend this place if you’re missing a taste of home. The spaghetti bolognaise was the best thing on the menu!! I wouldn’t say the steak was remarkable, however.

Came in on Wednesday 22nd May as we were staying in Chengdu and we were amazed with the bar grill, had burger and fries and 2 pints of Stella, my partner spoke to Fancy at length as we are from the UK, lovely food and very pleasant place, well done 👏

It's true that after a few days of Chinese food, there's a urge of having Western food 😅😆..so we googled and found this place..lovely ambience, amazing and friendly staff. We thoroughly enjoyed the food (big portion) and highly recommended to any one including family with young children .

My First Blue Frog experience and it was great. Happy hour is from 16:00-20:00 where you can get a free refill with all cocktails. The burger was amazing, I highly recommend it.

Wow. After six days in Beijing and Xi'an we came to Chengdu... We just needed an Oasis... A place where the food is something our bodies are used to... "Blue frog" was the perfect place to supply this apportunity. We read the reviews about the bad service and this wasn't the case this time. The resturant is very clean and the staff are very friendly and hospitable. It's useful to bring up the translation app to try and understand some parts of the menu but most of it is in English. We have the double base hotpot and the sichuan flavour was super spicy! A range of veggies and meat available, we had lamb and pork slices as well as wontons and prawns. They also bring free watermelon to cool you down. They offer bibs so your clothes dont get dirty. Great experience.

Hot pot was great, they have an English menu (with quite some exotic things inside). Unfortunately, mostly everything that we wanted to order was sold out even though we went there at 5pm. On top of that, they served us some innards that we didn't order. I guess that there are better hotpot restaurants in Chengdu.

Fantastic place for the classic Szechuan hotpot. Easy to order with the English menu, very attentive waitresses keen to show how it's done, and if you're willing to have the intense chilli and Szechuan pepper combo you'll not be disappointed. Flavour of the broth was amazing and knocks your socks off. Very reasonable pricing as well.

I came here at the recommendation of my hotel concierge. There were plenty of pictures and I used the Google Translate camera to figure out the rest. I ordered a ton of different types of beef. Everything was delicious.

Excellent value for money: service, location and comfort. Very spacious and clean rooms, comfortable large bed, great products offered in the room/bathroom and very friendly staff. Plus, the smell in the hotel is divine 😁. Areas for improvement: The A/C in the room is too noisy. The service level at breakfast can be slightly improved... All in all, a great stay at St. Regis, highly recommended!

The hotel rooms we had were incredibly spacious. Decor a bit dated but it was nice. Loss of a star for the hotel giving away our requested adjoining two rooms when we missed our connection. This resulted in splitting up 1:1 parent and child to rooms down the hall. The next day there was an adjoining room available resulting in me having to pack up all my stuff again to move. They apparently would pack my stuff but I don’t trust anyone else to do that. The air conditioning wasn’t very strong. Thermostat set to 18.5 but never got below 24 it feels. The breakfast buffet is wonderful with a ton of options and they were all really good. Great spread. The gym was good although it again had very weak air conditioning and it was quite hot to exercise. The indoor pool has a weird mandatory swim cap rule even if you don’t put your head underwater. But the outdoor pool doesn’t have this rule but opens up many hours later. Overall it was a comfortable stay. Great walking distance to the nice shopping area of town.

Staff were very English-friendly, which made everything smooth and stress-free as an international guest. In terms of value, this hotel offers a true St. Regis experience at a very competitive rate. It’s a fantastic choice for both business and leisure travelers in Chengdu. I’ll definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

Love this hotel, the value you get for your money is incredible. The Chinese restaurant on the level two is my favorite, it has bring me back to this hotel again and again. Great stay during my Chengdu trip. The only problem is the TV which was kinda hard to switch on. Took quite a while for us to figure it out.

We went to this place yesterday n at first it seemed the restaurant was closed down for renovation but the manager Richard invited us anyway and said he can prepare some simple stuff if we wish and we ordered dhal and jeers rice. He started mentioning the sizes of the dishes to be small, medium and large. He also mentioned the billing machine isn’t working so we need to pay cash with no printed bill. We did find it fishy but we were hungry and ignored these things. After eating the food he then gave 325 rmb as bill for just 1 dhal, 1 jeera rice and 1 butter milk. He had cheated us with quantity saying we ordered 3 small jeera rice. When I checked the menu there was no sizes mentioned but just the price, we later argued and paid 200 which was still expensive for the food and service. I assume he put that in his pocket because the whole restaurant was kind of closed with only him managing. His name is Richard, from Kerala. Speaks very well n is always smiley but don’t believe this guy and if hotel management sees this then please take action against him. He is a disgrace to Indian community living in abroad spoiling it for everyone!

the packaging is poor as i took away food and they pack u food in plastic polythene. vegetable jalferezi was worst and tasteless plain white rice is plastic rice for sure. naan is like rubber. i specially went there as i saw the reviews but trust me the restaurant was empty. poor service and unnecessarily expensive. its better to have chinese food guys atleast some chilli flavour and value for money. dont go there.

I enjoyed it. Menu is a bit restricted if you don't eat meat, but the food was great. And it is cheap for what it is, by western standards anyway. The funny thing, in my dish of Kung Po Prawns it was the round peanuts that stood out as just incredibly yummy! There's a little wait but with all the hustle and bustle going on in the restaurant it's quite entertaining, so waiting isn't an issue. Would like to return to have the other prawn dish on the menu and then that'll be done for me.

This is an old restaurant that is Michelin star rated. Wonderful service and good Szechuan food. Price is reasonable for a foreigner like me! There is a queue but the queue system is orderly. We waited 30 mins for our table. Once inside, service was quick.

Fantastic place in Chengdu! The food was amazing and got delivered quickly. The wait time on a Monday at 6:30PM was about 45 minutes. Prices are quite high for the area but not high by western standards. The portions aren’t big. We paid for 5 people £80, but we were absolutely starving when we got there.

Great food and service as elaborated by previous posts. Had lunch and dinner here during our stay in Chengdu, in order to try more items from the menu, all impressive! Easy to arrive at restaurant doorstep using Didi travel app (launched from within Alipay app, in my case), as the restaurant name can be entered in English as well.

We are a group of 6 from Malaysia. You need to queue, if possible about 1hr before the restaurant opens its doors to have a chance to dine in here. Today a Saturday, we came in at 3.45 pm for a 5om opening. We were told to do so the previous day to come in at 4pm to queue. Yet there was already a sizable crowd ahead of us. The restaurant dining area covers 2 floors with a nice calming atmosphere with slightly dim lighting. The staff was very attentive and gave us suggestions to order. The cold dish came almost instantly, with the rest coming in at reguar just "in time" intervals. The food - absolutely delicious. Some servings seem small but since we ordered 8 varieties, there was more than enough food. Some dish we place a 2nd order as it was that good. If you are a traveller to Chengdu, this is a must destination for food. Price wise is good for the food quality.

Ma Wang Zi was the first restaurant we tried in Chengdu. It is a local, michelin star awarded institution, having been around for 101 years this year, and even though we rocked up just after the opening time of 5pm, we had to wait 50 mins for our table. It was all worth it, though, for an authentic taste of Szechaun food executed with quality produce and finese at reasonable prices to boot. The star of the show has got to be the Kung Po prawn with fried eggplant, which came with a small hourglass and advice to finish it within 3 minutes. For good reason, too. When freshly fried, the eggplant is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with the multi dimensional sauce lighting the way. I would brave the wait just for this dish and rice. Looking forward to more good food finds here in Chengdu!

One of the best authentic Sichuan spicy hotpot restaurants. Chain restaurant, but excellent service, food quality and environment. The sitting/waiting/tea area on the second floor is surrounded by historical photos of old Sichuan. Truly a preservation of local culture.
