Stunning dishes! A must to order the Tortilla de Camarones, Gilda de atún and Langostinos with chickpeas. Service was impeccable and if you are sitting at the bar, make yourself a favour and walk along the restaurant to see the decoration, truly special! A must in Cadiz!

Overall almost excellent experience! The food was great. The highlights were tuna adobo, sponge cake, marinated clams. Miguel was very friendly and helpful. We recommend it overall, but we don’t give 5 stars bcoz the shrimps were not cleaned as expected. (We expected at least the head of the shrimp to be removed but it seems to be a common practice in Spain to serve the whole shrimp).

Just a few meters from San Sabastian fort is this restaurant best to enjoy the sunset and then head for dinner, reservation required if you will be late, place has history and has some wines that were not available anywhere in Cadiz , we had a great time here alot of local and many British expats too

An amazing Cadiz style lunch at El Faro. The food was simple, but amazing. The shrimp pancakes were so delightful. The crusty bread, the potato salad, the fish....all amazing.

I can’t fault this place for service or food, both impeccable. But atmosphere, there was none. The staff are very professional and helpful, especially with my food allergies. Their menu is clearly defined for allergens and the staff are also knowledgeable about the food they serve. I was able to eat my favourite rabo de toro for the first time in years because here, unlike any other restaurant where I’ve enquired, they don’t coat the meat in flour before it is sealed, so that was a rare treat. The salmorejo is also gluten free. Reasonably priced considering standard, quality and location. I would return.

I felt privileged to eat the spectacular food they produce in this restaurant. We had sea urchin, prepared in a way we are not accustomed to. Usually, I have eaten it fresh on sushi or tossed with pasta. This delicate presentation was a delight! Pâté de cabracho, tortilla de camarones, albondiguitas de marisco, almejas con espinacas, navajas, tocino! The waiter stopped us before we could overdo it. But we can’t have these lovely things back home!😢and they took care of calling a taxi. Personal muy simpático y profesional. Do book in advance. It’s not difficult to get a reservation. Better reserve than turn up with no table!

For one of the better presentations of Gaditano cuisine, this is a good choice. We are in the more casual area, the formal dining room looked elegant and with a larger selection so if we went back I would try that. For the type of food and service offered in the more casual side, I feel that Casa Lazo is a much better choice.

My wife and I absolutely loved this place -- simply dripping with traditional Spanish culture. Yes, it's touristy and crowded. But it's filled with locals, and worth the wait! We could not get in for dinner (we did not line up early enough), but found it fairly easy to get in for lunch the next day. The tortillitas de camarones were exquisite, but so was the salmorejo -- which is served cold, and looks a lot like gazpacho. We did not know much about sherry, but asked for a semi-sweet sherry, and were happy to be served a glass of Canasta Cream sherry. (Quite a bit like Porto wine). The prices are very fair. Taberna Casa Manteca is a real gem. !Muchas gracias!

Very delicious, only very hot - you can sit outside only (33 degrees in June), lots of people, noise and the waiters tired too. And you have to wait. The meal was delicious, especially tartita de camarones, salmorejo con helado. Mojama de atun had lot of salt for my taste. Fried fish was ok. Potato salads (both) were delicious, only it came too late, after all the food, after we asked again. Croquetas de jamon y camarones were very delicious. A guide from Cadifornia recomended us the place. Overall, my recomendations!

A brilliant place, after seeing a couple of photos exactly what you would expect. Friendly staff, busy with a great buzz. Amazing quality food. If you’re a sherry lover this is a must visit!

We walked 1.6 km under scorching sun to reach this restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. We ordered one portion of the prawn omelette, a marinated yellowtail tuna and squid. The food was so amazing that we ordered another two portions of prawn omelette 🤭. Love it, 🥰

Very dificult with the language 🙈 Stuff doesn't clearly understood in english our orders. We had to use the pen and litteraly to point them by finger what we would like to order from thair's menus. Still, we did not get what we've ordered. Over all, one dish was missed and "El tuna" was overcooked and dry. Best choice for us was - fried squids.

I should not write this opinion as they have enough customers and is really crowded but food is perfect and quickly delivered and most importantly it is very tasty, I have eaten various specialties from menu and will not stop and leave the place if not receiving phone call from my wife (it was so good), service staff was perfect organized like orchestra and supporting the customers, wine , cherry and beer was good, atmosphere of place I loved, what you need more to be happy

When success comes and gets unchallenged, the management & staff get relax and uncaring. After my 3rd attempt to eat- expect long, very long queues to get seated- I finally managed to have “the epic Manteca experience”. Honestly, this place is highly over rated & the waiters are unhelpful, unkind & obnoxious. For me, the eating experience goes beyond the food quality, also encompassing the swift, helpful & caring interaction with the serving staff. Regarding food quality, the only, truly remarkable dish was “tortillas de camarón”, all the rest of tapa options was pretty much the same quality you can find elsewhere , and perhaps cheaper too! Most non-Spanish speaking tourists may not notice this nuances, but I speak Spanish and there many things that are easily spotted…save your time queuing & spend your money elsewhere.

Flavour, flavour, flavour. Wonderful place with creative dishes that showcase local ingredients in innovative and exciting ways without going too far. Staff are unbelievably hard working and attentive. Book in advance or take a chance and sit at the bar. A wonderful experience wherever you end up.

The best tapas I tried in Cádiz. Very tasty food, I tried the octopus and salmon teriyaki... it was so delicious, the cheesecake was also very good. We were lucky to get a table without a reservation, but a few minutes later the place was full, so I think it's best to make a reservation.

Cosy tapas bar hidden away on a side street. Some of the best food we had in Cádiz, loved the prawn taco, salmon maki and the Patatas! Would definitely return if back in this part of the world. Our waiter was also very friendly.

Oh whoa it was the tastiest food we have eaten on our trip and we ate at a Michelin star restaurant, one of the nights. It was so fresh and well presented, we were accommodated without reservations but that was a Monday night! Would highly recommend

The best food I’ve had for a long time. The croquettes are the best I have ever had. The aubergine salad was delicious. The chips with tomato sauce were probably the tastiest fries I’ve ever had. All with two beers for less than 25€. Stunning. 10/10 isn’t enough.

Another incredible experience for my last night in Cadiz! I so enjoyed the food hear, the fusion between Asian and Spanish was absolutely perfect! This was only round the corner from my hostel and was an absolute gem! I sat on the little terrace bit, and because I took so long enjoying the food I had to be moved to a different table for the desert. Amazing flavours! Would absolutely reccomend the Vietnamese roll. A taste sensation! Thank you!

The food was fine (quite average) but be careful with the specials as they took the opportunity to rip us off and charged 6x what the rest of the dishes on the menu cost. So disappointing and we left feeling absolutely conned. I understand that a special dish might cost more (maybe two or three times a normal dish on the menu) but when it’s on a different planet to the normal price range, it leaves a very nasty taste in your mouth. €68 just for crab and fries, plus the other dishes and drinks. I would avoid this place.

Amazing restaurant with a lot of fresh, fried fish, shrimp and squid dishes. My favourite was the fried fish pancake’s called Tortillitas de Camarones. Fast service and great atmosphere.

We went to this place following recommendations from Google and Lonely Planet. We had to wait for a table but weren't disappointed. We were lucky to sit outside, but there's a great buzz inside too. The food was great and service friendly. The salad of shrimp and octopus was really refreshing.

You know this is a real deal as the majority of visitants are local rather than tourist. There are some rules of thumb that simply work well. This place always has a tail of customers waiting, or you can feel the joy of people with the dishes and drinks. If you are looking for sea food / tapas / or a place to earn the experience of the South food, this is the right place. Great location with indoor or terrace restaurant, amazing service and obviously the great diversity of fish & sea food that has a quality well over the price. Amazing falls short so go and repeat

Affordable and delicious seafood. Every tourist must visit. Just buy a 1 kg mix plate seen in the photo and be happy. Tested personally during my Cadiz visit.

The best fresh seafood you will get for the best price. I highly recommand.. it was so good i went there 2 times!

Great value for money. Paella was our favourite. The only downside could be the presence of pigeons outside and a few inside, which might feel a bit uncomfortable. Service was fast and polite, and they patiently served us until the very last minute before closing. Thank you!

Fantastic deep fried fish and seafood. There would be a long queue at lunchtime but we'll worth thr wait.

Visited here today on my day trip to Cádiz. Lovely period Restuant. The service was good, however possibly a touch slow and the food was nice, however very, very small portions. We just had soup and two peppermint teas. I think this place would be lovely for an evening meal. Cost, soup £12.50 and peppermint tea £7.50 per person. That all said, I would still return.

We stumbled upon this place and had a fabulous tapas menu here. The service was perfect and the food excellent we couldn’t fault the quality. I gave 4 for atmosphere but that was only because we ate early and were the only diners in the cafe section. Highly recommend.

Everything about this restaurant is 10/10. The interior is truly magical, the staff are really friendly and attentive, and all the items on the menu that we ordered were really tasty, including the desserts. I personally ordered a steak and it was truly one of the best I’ve had. I 100% recommend going here for lunch.

Once again Cadiz delivers above and beyond. This is a beautiful restaurant with decor which is a reminder of a different age. I chose the set Tapas menu and it was gorgeous. The croquettes were amazing and full of flavour and melted in my mouth. The omelettes were so different to what I would normally consider that dish to be but they were super tasty. The fish was superb and the desert, again something I have never tried, was so, so good. The service was quick and efficient along with lovely smiles. The price was perfectly OK for the quality of the food and overall experience. I'm going to use this space to say how wonderful Cadiz has been. Every day has provided a memory to treasure and an experience to remember. The people are lovely and friendly. I am so sad to be going home but I will definitely return soon. Oh, and here's a ❤️ right back at you, thanks for the coffee.

The decor is fabulous, which is what attracted us. The restaurant menu looked great, so in we went for dinner. The wait staff though, seemed they did not want to be there. One in particular was most sour faced and displeased. We ordered the seafood paella for two, which was €120. We were expecting something amazing for this price and we were happy to pay thinking it would be worth it. However, it was far from worth the cost. It amounted to one prawn each and the tiniest lobster tail ever. It was no bigger than the prawn. The paella was overly salty and after the waitress served it up, she headed back to the kitchen with quite a lot of the rice left in the serving dish. We thought she might return and top us up with the rest of the dish that we were paying a fortune for, but she did not. We felt hugely ripped off!

It was a great place to visit, had the special royalty pancakes which were great, banana , blueberries and chocolate is a must try. Services was first class

The decor inside is lavish with beautiful artwork on the ceiling. I felt like I was reliving the past from years ago. We were given 2 thick slices of bread with olive oil to dip our bread. Another plate of a mini portion of salad, with salmon pate and mini croutons followed before our appetizers. If you’re an out-of-town guest, make your reservations early. They seat you only at the time of your reservation. I am not sure why I was asked to make reservations even though we were the only people & 2 others who dined here. Food: 4/5 - we all ordered appetizers. The most interesting food was the small shrimp omelette that threw us off. See the photo. It was tasty though. Service: 4/5 - the food was brought out in a timely manner. Our server was average. Atmosphere: 5/5 - the place had a great feel to it.

Everything here was top notch ! We went with the cotinusa menu and liked everything. Two of the dishes were salty to our taste but we still loved them! Definitely worth checking out! Enjoy!!

Amazing 1 Michelin star restaurant. All the dishes are inspired by the rich culinary history of Cádiz, with a modern twist. They work with local producers to recreate the bread that was baked with ancient grains. The "gold of Cádiz " it is a must. Service was impeccable as you'd expect from this kind of restaurant but friendly. The wine list was also well chosen and fairly priced. A night well remember.

We got the Gadeira menu with 16 servings. Amazing food, competent and friendly service by the competent staff. The concept of the menu is very well thought out with the traditions and history of Cádiz. Spectacular experience on all levels.

We had an amazing New Year’s Day lunch here with their chef menu. Best fine dining so far we have found in Cadiz. Excellent service as well as prepared dishes. The oil that was made from fish during Roman times was fantastic. It is an experience and a reason to dress up and go out for a special treat.

One of the best tapas bars we have eaten in in Spain! So charming and so busy that it’s a given that the food will be fresh! We were seated close to the kitchen so I saw most of the dishes being brought out! Hard working chefs and staff! Lilly served us and was very sweet! We ordered quite a few tapas and the pulpo! Their local ‘wine of the house’ was also very good! Very economical as well! Fantastic! I would recommend this to definitely be one of the evenings in Cadiz! I would give them 7 stars 🌟

We arrived after we had walked heaps of kms looking for the ultimate place to eat. We thought they were full so we had the feeling they would say no but …. My wife and her walking stick gave us the best seats int he house. We had the most amazing patates bravas, pork cheek, tuna steak, ibéro ham, and a bottle of the finest red wine coupled with service you die for in any restaurant you must try this if you visit Cádiz!

Oh my goodness, what a delight! This place is compact (so probably not suitable for groups) but delicious! Definitely book if you can. We managed to sneak a spot at the bar without one, but it was very busy. I am gluten free and there were lots of options to choose from. They also provided me with a warm gluten free bread roll upon request. It wasn’t great, but that’s to be expected. Highlights were the braised pork and the heuvos rotolos. Also, the wine they served was excellent. I’d had a few too many overly chilled red wines in Cádiz but this was in a specific red wine fridge and so nice. Will recommend this spot to anyone visiting Cádiz.

One of the best tapas I tried in Cádiz. I had to wait a bit outside, but it was worth it. Very pleasant atmosphere, good service, and delicious food.

We were bar hopping for the evening and this was the first tapas bar we visited and we were super happy with the service by the waitress with purple highlights she was a delight, we laughed a lots at the time of ordering and she is a gem , she took good care of my gluten free request and was more then generous with her explanation, we knew we were in good hands and asked her to order for us she bought a glass of dry fortied wine and sweet fortied wine and a bottle of Spanish muscatel wine and we had a merry evening

Ate here twice the food was excellent. Highlights were the Columela Spicy Potatoes, Galician-style Octopus and the Tuna Tartare. A must visit restaurant if you’re coming to Cádiz.

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Balandro! It was a fabulous experience! The waiter and waitress were very kind and patient with me as my Spanish is not the best.. The food was absolutely brilliant! It was good to try some Spanish cuisine with a twist, it was all so tasty and the desert was delicious! I’ve never had anything like it before. The atmosphere was great too, wonderful to see it so busy and alive! Thank you so much!

Really good restaurant. You really need to make reservations a couple of days before. Eating at the bar is fine. We had arroz caldoso with lobster. It was amazing.

Wonderful seafood looking out onto the Atlantic Ocean. Service was a touch frosty, maybe because we don't have fluent Spaniah. Definitely a locals restaurant which is why we were there. It was packed. Food was great. Lovely wines. The grandstand reserva Cava a standout.

All dishes we ordered were amazing. Salmorejo was really good, both pasta dishes were tasty and al dente, and the sea food paella was just too good. Server was efficient and certainly very busy.

Very busy in the evenings with a good mix of locals and tourists. Traditional Andalusian tapas at the front counter and outside, while the back area is more of a restaurant. Portions are large, and you get bread, olives, and olive oil with your meal. We loved the lively atmosphere, but our steak and tuna steak were a bit disappointing – the fries were soggy, and the tuna was dry and chewy. Just our personal experience.

A very nice neighborhood tapas restaurant that serves local favorites. For us the main feature is the iberico ham. The place is full of jamon hanging from the roof with garlics and vegetables. This region may have some of the finest ham in the world. Other favorites are the corquets and pork ribs. The date wrapped bacon is also delicious. We had a nice meal here.

An extremely popular and traditional place. At the front there are a few high tables and chairs outside, then you are into the tapas bar area which gets extremely busy with people ordering and eating, food and drink in that area. Through to the back is a more traditional seated restaurant area with table service. Definitely worth booking in advance at peak times. Food is really good, hearty traditional fayre.

Very nice meat restaurant. Staff very friendly even though we didn't have a reservation. I chose the lamb and boyfriend choose the entrecote. Both very good. Nice sear on the outside while remaining tender and red inside.

I found the food to be excellent but having seen the reviews about staff not being friendly or helpful i can understand that. It was an absolutely beautiful summers day at the end of July and I really enjoyed the iceberg cold beer that went down a treat. Cadiz itself is a stunningly beautiful town with an authentic Spanish vibe going on, I will certainly along with my wife visit again.

Very busy restaurant. Tapas inside, more substantial meals outside in the street. Outside is better. Great waiter, attentive service, gives good advice. Rustic cookery, huge portions, not fine dining.

#1 groceries and fishing The different market stalls offer a wide variety of groceries, bakery products and fish. All products, especially the fish tho, are lined up carefully to pose for the endless camera lenses pointed at them. #2 architecture This represents the perfect harmony of old and modern market place architecture. The long extended straight roofs form a sort of hall way for the customer to wait in the shade.

I've never seen such large selection of very fresh fish and seafood anywhere else in Europe. Obviously they sell fresh vegetables, fruits, meat and sausages as well. It's a fantastic market.

This one is not as good as the one in Madrid or Barcelona, However it still has many choices for seafood. We enjoyed the deep fried shrimps and little fishes for our afternoon snack. Very fresh and tasty. Excellent.

Nice local fish built in 1838. A lot of food stalls for food and drink. Good to go for lunch. The market opens 9am-3.30pm. Some food stalls stay open for dinner, but a lot less choices.

Perfect place to have a drink and a lot of choices to eat. You can even actually buy a fresh seafood at the market in the morning and they will send it upstairs to a restaurant where they'll prepared it for you at lunch time. Also they open at night and it's awesome! Cool ambiance, a lot more people, be aware! Not enough sitting but that's the enchanted of the place. After all you are at what it use to be an old roman garden. Or so I was told.

A taste of many regions of Spain in one place! Loved it here, so much to try including local charcuterie and montaditas and various Jerez sherries. That was my choice and did not disappoint.

This is the best place to have dinner in Cadiz. They only open 3 days a week but I was lucky enough to eat their delicious tapas! I went there at the opening hour and find the last table in the bar. Be early if you don't want to wait. I strongly recommend spinach with chickpeas and aubergine with cheese. Yummy! 😋😋

Very good and inexpensive tapas place. Downhome cooking, nothing fancy but delicious throughout. The menu is different from other places in that you won't find Cádiz classics like shrimp fritters or fried fish. Instead, they have spinach with chickpeas, cheese-filled eggplant and other unusual options. We shared seven dishes among two people. It's a popular place, so you may not immediately get a table. They don't take reservations.

After a very short time spent in queue, we had an amazing dinner at this place. We have tried several tapas, all came to the table super quickly and they were very delicious. The vibes and the service was great. The only disadvantage is that the high tables and chairs were super uncomfortable, making it a bit harder to enjoy the experience. But over all it was a nice experience. :)

Great tapas bar in a vibrant area of Cadiz. Fast service, good recommendations and delicious food. 5 tapas, 4 glasses of wine and big smiles all round for less than 40 bucks. We live in Mallorca and food and service like this for that price would be unthinkable here. I've worked in kitchens for 20 years and I was blown away by the speed that they managed to turn out delicious perfectly cooked food. Well done guys!

Superb tapas bar, excellent friendly service, tremendous food, good prices

A really lovely tapas experience, with tasty bites of Spanish flavours and at greatly affordable prices. Come at around 8/8:30 in the evening to get yourself a table and by 9 the ambience is a buzzing. I recommend the hamburger with a blue cheese sauce, steak with cream sauce, croquetas and a healthy tasting of wines and sherries. Also, most tapas dishes come with chips, which I found peculiar but gosh they were so tasty, so keep them coming! The menu changes for the summer and winter months, with the latter offering local stews, which I'm determined to come back and try. The service was also fabulous, and the waitress helped us out with recommendations.

Cool bar, great tapa of toro (young bull) and great chicharrón traditional which is like aged fried pork belly , great with a cold beer . In fact I walk there most nights just for those two dishes

Really nice restaurant in a cozy area of Cádiz. Food is delicious and fresh, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Staff is polite and welcoming, especially our waitresses Alva. We liked this place so much, came here 3 times during our stay.

This is the way any place should be: excellent food; efficient & attentive staff & great location! ( the restaurant itself is narrow, and has a second floor) but in summer tables are laid out in the nice square and one corridor outside. Good choice, honest food !

The menu is amazing with a fantastic choice of fish cooked in various ways. We enjoyed it a lot the first night and as the saturday was really busy, we went back as we knew we wouldn't be disappointed. There's a little wait for the tables outdoors, but worth the wait! Definitely go there if you love fish and their shrimp fritters are amazing!

Very decent tapas but nothing that blew my mind. All the tapas we had was really nice apart from the fried baby squid which was a bit squidgy and gritty. I didn’t love the cold mussels either. Price is sort of normal for the area Would recommend for decent tapas but again no wow factor for me.

Be honest we are very disappointed about the food. It is not as good as people said online. The food tastes ok not good not bad but it’s fresh. The price is reasonable. The expectation is too high before we have the meal. The seasoning is too salty for us. The tomatoes salad with the meal are a good but again it is still a little bit too salty for us.

It’s a Michelin recommended restaurant, but it were just okay. Wine was really good. Their oxtail were cook really well with good sauce, but the steak was flavourless (problem when cooking steak Spanish style?*, dry, flat and fried crisp outer) Dessert was just okay, didn’t finish.

AVOID! We reserved a table inside , but when we arrived we were not seated in the the main restaurant , but in very poorly set room across the Street with tables that had non-woven fabric tablecloths terrible lighting and no decoration. It was like dining in a jail. Food was bland and nothing special, waiter with no knowledge and poor education

Great place in Cádiz city center. Recommended by Michelin. The tuna specialties we tried were delicious. Just the right sweet, salty and sour flavor balances. Desert was a treat as well. In particular the cheesecake is a great combination of the rich and maybe very slightly spicy flavors of the local payoyo cheese and balancing sweet red fruit additions. Very kind service. Nice decor.

It was really good food. The mussels were a miss as I had one with either some shell or sand in it which was a bit off putting. The bao was nice. The tuna cone was superb and the shrimp salad thing was really good. Great flavours. Overall it was a very good restaurant and not super expensive. Not super cheap though.

Went here 2 years ago and it has deteriorated since then in terms of food quality (now 3.5). Foie gras dish was definitely worse with the fruit compote way too sweet and the foie gras grainy. Some other dishes were still good and still a decent place for tuna dishes but disappointing overall relative to 2 yrs ago.

Without a doubt, the best meal we had in Cadiz. Every bite was perfectly balanced like a piece of art, and presented with so much love and care. Wow. Lost for words at how incredible it was. The staff were fantastically friendly and welcoming too. Book a table here, you will not regret it!!

Every single dish we ordered was absolutely amazing!! Our server was so helpful as well to pair our selections with the right glass of wines. Everyone should be coming to Marmita! I wish I could give this more than 5 stars. What a fantastic first night in Cadíz!

We were so disappointed with the service and the food of this restaurant. We ordered the rice special but half of it was stuck/burnt on the pan. We informed the server and she said that’s how it’s served there. We have had rice numerous times in Cadiz and never had have to scrape burnt rice from the pan. We could not and would not recommend this restaurant.

Being from North America the food was very similar to trendy spots we are used to. The only difference was that some dishes are offered as tapas. The highlight was a drink they called Esmeralda which is a mocktail. The drink tasted amazing. The presentation of the food and the decor of the restaurant was amazing. The staff were all really attentive and kind also.

The food was so bad! I got the pasta calamata, and the sauce was so bitter. It tasted like either burned or they cooked it with the squid’s organ. I was so hungry and didn’t really speak Spanish so I just kept eating it but then I also noticed that the squid was sandy. I could not finish it. My husband got octopus and my friend got orocchiette which were pretty good. However, my other friend got coconut chicken with curry sauce and she said it was raw. Overall, we were VERY disappointed. Maybe we were here on a bad day, but any good restaurant should have the consistency of providing good food.

This is a great fusion restaurant right along Victoria Beach. They have seating both inside and out, with both spaces being clean and modern. They have a good variety of both Spanish and Asian cuisines to pick from. All of the different dishes we tried were excellent. Definitely give the guacamole a try as they make it table side and it is quite good. Prices were fairly reasonable for a beach front venue. Service was also friendly and they have both English and German menus available as well.

We used to go a lot when we're living in Cádiz, now it seems that they've changed how the food is made. We remembered a salad with the special house sauce really tasty but now it is sugared and too sweet for us. We couldn't finish our dishes for the reason of the flavour and they didn't asked, why have not finished your dishes ? Or what you think about it? They didn't ask anything, so the service that they gave us is to think about it. However, for those people who loves sugared dished and sweet food is highly recommended but not for those who prefer to enjoy the flavour of the food (even the tuna was marinated with some sugar or sweetness). Truly speechless every detail was an absolute delight. My sincerest compliments to the chef for crafting such an exquisite menu, and to the entire team whose dedication elevated the experience even further. The restaraunt is in a nice setting along the promenade, with great views over the ocean, good ambience and decor. The food was tasty, although portion sizes were disappointing (particularly the clams, which felt like more of a tapas portion size despite costing €20).

This restaurant looked promising due to its location on the promenade and the reviews but we were left very disappointed. What you pay for the quality and quantity of the food is ridiculous. Two of us felt sick in the evening after eating the same fish dish which wasn't great. Our young son ordered the burger and instead of the waiter telling us it would take longer or atleast making sure his food was prepared first since he is a young child we all received our food at the table and had to wait another 15min before his food eventually came to the table. At this restaurant you clearly pay for the view and location and not the food or service.

Despite its appealing location and positive reviews, our experience at this restaurant was deeply disappointing—and certainly not one we’d ever repeat. The cost was outrageous given the poor quality and meager portions of the food. After sharing the same fish dish, two of us felt unwell later that evening, and the dish itself was far from impressive. Service was equally lacking. Meals for our party of six were not served together, with one guest receiving his food at least 15 minutes after everyone else (we were not notified that this rather simple dish would take so long). It’s clear that what you’re paying for here is the view, not the cuisine or hospitality. Of the six restaurants and bars we visited in Cádiz, this was by far the worst in terms of both food quality and value for money.

Called as a drop in and welcomed warmly. Fresh fish on display and excellent choice. Next door Tapas bar busy also. Great service and food. Grilled sea bass delicious.

The staff were unfriendly and rude. Felt like we were an inconvenience. This is meant to be a fish restaurant yet they did not have many of the standard fish dishes one would expect! Overall , extremely disappointing! Would not recommend, highly inflated prices also for very little .

Not only was the food delicious but the attention was five stars. Totally lived up to their reputation. Very cozy and familial ambience. They acknowledged us as soon as we came in, found us setting immediately (place is small and was crowded) and brought us a serving of their delicious potatoes without saying a word. Food is world class

We saved the best til last. Final night of a week in this gorgeous city. What a special place to eat, taste and enjoy all Cadiz has to offer. This was earmarked as a top spot from vlogs and reviews and we were not disappointed we turned without a reservation @ 8pm . Chose a high table at the bar and were welcomed with a genuine warmth and friendliness by the owner. - a complimentary dish of potatoes and carrots arrived almost immediately . We ordered croquettes, gambas pili pili( absolutely banging! A real favourite for the OH, dish was sizzling and sweet. He was delighted with this dish. Then meat all the way with “ Iberico pork and lamb chops. Both excellent but for me the pork was the standout taste: sweet, lean and so yummy, Two lovey glasses of red, a few beers. Delightful service,fo all the staff/ clearly popular as by 8-15?the place was full. What a tee! They work as a cohesive unit, tempting plates of food passed us by and we wanted to try everything we saw!!!! An outstanding place!!! All about the vibe, hands down better then the more classy/expensive restaurants in the city ( IMHO) - this will be the first place we go back to when we are next in the city in February. Cadiz is a city that just keeps on giving!!!

Saw this reviewed by Spain Revealed on YouTube so decided to check it out myself and very glad I did too. It is not open every day so check opening days and times. My family and I went at 8.30pm on Tuesday evening and sat at a small table by the bar with 4 stools. We we given a free plate of potatoes and carrots in oil and garlic. It was a cold dish but oozing flavour. It was truly delicious. We then ordered the sizzling shrimps in oil and garlic, Iberian ham croquettes and pork cheeks on a bed a fries. All were extremely good and the service was polite, efficient and of a manner that made you feel very welcome and comfortable. The service was attentive and even though we could manage very little Spanish the waiter was patient and understanding and we ended up with everything we wanted. I tried a recommended local red wine and thar was spot on and inexpensive at €3.90 a glass. Altogether, for 4 of us it was just shy of €60. Highly recommended and I recommend seating yourself by the bar.

One of the best dinners that I ever hade in a long time. Owner was very gracious to offer nos a table in an already completely reserved restaurant. Our waiter completely understud the kind of wine that we want to have with the dinner and offered a sample to see if I was looking to drink something like that one. The shrimps al ajillo brought me memories of the one make at home, the offers us potato’s and carrots in a onion , garly vinegar and oregano that remind me the one only my mother and grandmother used to made. The gambas al ajillo and the steak solomillo was out of this world !congratulations To the chefs and owner!!! What a great experience!

Casa Lazo was hands down the best meal we had in Spain. It’s a beautiful, family-run restaurant where you’re treated like one of their own from the moment you walk in. Every dish is made with love and tradition — many of them are their grandmother’s recipes — and you can truly taste the passion in every bite. Everything was oh so yummy! We can’t wait to return to Spain just to enjoy another meal at Casa Lazo. An absolute must-visit!

The food here is seriously good! The brioche with guacamole and tuna tartare was so good we had to order another serving! The fried sea bream with fries made from mini shrimp pancake (tortillitas de camarón) was so good! And the rice with tuna was also very good. Nothing was disappointing. The chocolate ganache cake was to die for! No foto sorry as it was eaten too quickly! Service is also very good and very friendly. We would go back and definitely recommend it.

What creative and delicious food in a lovely environment. We had a lovely meal from start to finish. The food was top notch and so reasonably priced for the quality, with great wine and beer to accompany the meal. Everyone was so pleasant.

Really fun menu, good balance between local, traditional and international. Great wine pairing with a local focus and a quite interesting selection of Palomino in different styles. Great value, excellent service, a place to visit everytime you’re in town. 5 course menu for 35 euros, wine pairing 12 additional euros.

Popped in for a drink and a snack at around 10pm. There wasn't much on the menu we liked but that's our fault for being fussy but we spotted an Iberian pork dish which was simple and met our needs for that moment. When the meal arrived, it was a handful of chunks of Iberian pork on a bed of chips. We'd seen another person having the same meal so knew what the portion sizes were. However, the meat was very fatty. Not much meat at all and the meat itself looked almost raw once cut into. The taste was very good but we did ask them to cook the meat some more as we just weren't sure if it was edible or not. The staff were very pleasant, helpful and willing to cook the food a little more. In England, I'd have sent the meal back based on the lack of meat and the fact that it was too fatty but it might be that the Spanish like the dish served this way. It was very tasty and so I have to assume that this is the way people like it. Our daughter is a fussy eater and wanted a bowl of chips which weren't on the menu but the server went out of their way to provide us with some hand cut, freshly made, chips which were very good. All in all, a very nice place with excellent service.

Love the food and atmosphere of this chic-rustic restaurant! I strongly recommend the ravioli and croquetas. The ravioli was unlike any I'd ever tasted, with fresh flavours that burst on the tongue with each mouthful. Maybe the best ravioli I've ever had.

If you are looking for local delicious fresh seafood and nice domestic wine. If you are looking for a Spanish colorite, if you want to see and feel a family-running business in Cadiz with great flavor and make your evening special, you should visit this place. The place is not fancy however it gives you full atmosphere of Cadiz. Great tuna tartar is in Taberna la surpesa, fancy tuna tar tar in Vadiz is Musalima. :) Have joy and make this place must have while you are in Cadiz.

Amazing tuna carpaccio and sashimi, lovely tapas, and great local wines and vermouth. Excellent service including a menu in English. Would highly recommend visiting.

Adorable taverna on a side street. Order anything with tuna and it is excellent. Wine selection was varied with a lot of local options. Service was gracious and prompt. However, at the end , when we asked to pay via credit card, we were told that the owner requires payment via credit card to be done in dollars versus euros despite our insistence otherwise. I recommend planning to pay in cash to avoid the added tourist tax.

We went for their blue fin tuna tartar, paired with a perfect sherry, and then added a few more tapas for good measure. Fantastic!! The staff were so friendly and professional. I highly recommend this little place.

La Sorpresa – Cádiz An absolute gem for authentic tapas! This is not the tourist version of tapas, but the real thing — the kind locals who know and appreciate good food come to enjoy. Perfectly located just away from the hustle, yet close enough to the center. Every dish was delicious, truly authentic, and served with warmth by the super-friendly staff. I especially loved the recommended Martini — a delightful surprise! A wonderful experience all around. Highly recommended!

Great food and service. My husband had the carrilada and he loved it. I had the black rice and while the rice was under cooked, the flavour was fabulous.

A very casual and relaxed tapas bar with friendly service. Our server was extremely patient in explaining the menu and helping us with our order. The food came out pretty quick and everything was delicious and at a reasonable price. Definitely recommend stopping by here if you are in Cadiz.

The Ajo blanco was amazing!🤩🤩 we came back just for that. The spaghetti was nothing special, the tuna wasn’t our favorite. Loved the shark! The cheesecake was really nice. Overall good quality food, the sandwiches they had looked really good. The vibe was nice. Would definitely recommend!

Absolutely brilliant takes on tapas. Grilled artichoke, tuna aioli with pumpkin seeds and red grape bits, and a lightly coated batter-fried grouper. All excellent. Wine good. They could offer a few cocktails. Don't hesitate - just go and eat here!

Cracking tapas at a super reasonable price. Salmorejo was amazing. Ask to see what fish they have on fritura that day. I had a great mackerel coated in a light batter with cumin, garlic and vinegar. Amazing flavours.

There were two of us. One of us is a native New Yorker whose mother was raised in Little Italy and Greenwich Village and one of us went to college in Italy. We ended up ordering three pizzas which gives you an idea of the size of the pizzas. The flavors were adequate. Either the oven temperature could not keep up with the number of pies being ordered or the dough could have used another 30 to 45 seconds in the oven. The server had the personality of a cardboard pizza box that sat in the fridge overnight. If you're a party of two be aware the server will force you to walk through a labyrinth away from the pizza oven and fun energy to a cold dark colorless room where there's black contact paper on the window and doors so you feel trapped.

The beautiful oven should be the heart of this restaurant! The food presentation is as beautiful as it is delicious! The dining area is so lacking for what is produced in the kitchen. The website showing your wood fired oven is what attracted me to Pizzeria Osare. You must have this salad, it has pearls of sublime olive oil and fresh lemon💋💋💋and for the full experience, eat the white raisins with your greens! Mucho gusto 😘

We have been waiting for waitress to come for 20 minutes and another 30 minutes for our order… Pizza was dry and awful. Quality of ham was below any expectations. I do not recommend this place. Ps. This was the only table inside the “restaurant” right next to cash register. I share screenshot of localization :)

Giving such a low rating is not in my nature however this place was pretty poor. We were sat inside a dreary place, which had no air and very warm. We were a large group so understandably expecting a delay in food however, after waiting over an hour some food arrived. Some starters but not all. The other starters came at the end of the meal. The pasta dishes were small and weren’t well seasoned and very disappointing. Do not order the pasta! The pizzas were large but again pretty bland. Needed chilli oil, pepper and anything else you could hold of. Sorry to say this was the worse meal we had in Cadiz. Avoid as the food isn’t great.

A relatively small, stylish restaurant. The menu choice was a little limited but the food quality was very good. Jesus was extremely welcoming and his service was excellent. An idea break from the hustle and bustle of the tapas bars on a Saturday evening.

Possibly the best Bib Gourmand restaurant I have ever visited. Amazing service and wine and the food was to die for. The eggs with cuttlefish bottarga, tuna cheeks, lamb paella and polea dessert were beyond perfect and I could not recommend this restaurant more highly. I regret this being my last evening in Cadiz. Simply wow!

We were looking for a good restaurant with decent prices and chose Almanaque due to its high score and good reviews. We were disappointed with both service and food. Although the restaurant is on the Michelin 2024 list and its reviews are written in English by foreigners, the menu is only in Spanish and the waiters do not speak English and do not explain what you can eat. The dishes on the menu (translated with Google Translate) differ from what you have on your plate, for example someone in our group ordered “ Tagarninas esparragadas con huevo frito y morcilla” and received green beans instead of asparagus. Both the tuna and the fish (gallo) but mainly the tuna were in a lot of sauce with a strange taste. The starters and the desserts were good, but none of the 4 mains was great. The service was good at the beginning and indifferent during the meal.

I cannot say enough positive remarks for this restaurant. A true gem in Cadiz and worth their Michelin rating. The menu is small but the flavors packed into each sauce is spectacular. A limited fresh menu means you’re getting the best available, each dish is perfectly shared by 2 people. Two starters and two mains are perfect, yes this is more expensive than a traditional local spot… but less expensive than anything you’d find in the United States comparatively and much higher quality. Our best meal in Cadiz by far and we’ve hit all the top recommendations.

We had a delightful meal at Almanaque Casa de Comidas. The food was both simple and simply delicious - we left with the unique experience of having home cooked local comfort food and a gourmet meal. This was a great find from Michelin Bib Gourmand and we highly recommend to others.

Loved it! Food was amazing. Staff were very helpful with the menu (suggested we order more - which was the right decision! and explained items in English as our Spanish isn’t perfect). Restaurant decor is very cool and there was a lovely view of the park from our table. Would certainly go back!

I can subscribe to some of the mediocre reviews the restaurant got here. Having trusted in the Guide Michelin restaurant recommendations, we came here, only to find food that wasn't to our taste. The cod main was way too salty, non of the starters were worth mentioning. The fried cauliflower was good but not exceptional in any way. Altogether a rather disappointing experience, given the expectations we had. The meal didn't compare to the one we had the day before in Sevilla, and I can't see why the Michelin restaurant guide would recommended this place of all. I assume we could have had a much more satisfying lunch for less €.

The churros were very delicious, the personal/service was very friendly. Sometimes you have to wait a bit longer to be served and that speaks for their quality! Definitely recommended!

Local churros which has a salty profile, likely to have a queue but worth a try if you like churros. I got myself hot chocolate on the side as well. Sold by weight.

It's one of churros selling stand in the market square. I don't know why but this one had the longest line of queue so we tried out. Very fresh, pretty salty churros. You can choose between thin and thick one. For my taste it wasn't worth the queue, still it was an experience!

I went there this morning right at 8:30 when it opened. They seem to make the batch as soon as there is a customer standing at line. Wow it was amazingly crunch and delicious and the owner seems to be super friendly. The service was also super quick. Churros con chocolate for one person was just 3 euros so I left one euro for a tip as he kept adding more churros to my serving. My only complaint(?) would it could have been even better if it were not as salty but I guess it is adjusted to the local that we should respect.

This small churreria is a hidden gem for anyone seeking a taste of authentic Spanish churros. The churros are perfectly crispy and golden brown, with a light and airy texture that melts in your mouth. While the churreria is small, it's incredibly popular for take-away, so be prepared to wait in a queue.

Ate their last night. Great food! Service was ok. I have cooked and eaten in many Michelin rated and recommended restaurants over the years. This is the first time ANY restaurant has charged me for bread. We didn’t ask for bread, they didn’t offer bread. They just brought the bread. Then they charged us €5 for the bread. We spent €99 for dinner for 2 which was fine but to charge us €5 for bread we didn’t ask for or eat. Very tacky. Unfortunately it left a bad taste after a great meal.

We visited twice during our stay. In the restaurant we had the tasting menu in the evening. All the dishes were delicious and the service was very good. We also had lunch in the Tapas bar next door and again had delicious dishes, especially seaweed with scrambled eggs and meatballs in cream. Definitely worth visiting - one of the best places to eat in Cadiz.

Just eaten a stunning black pork dish here. Served pink, bit unusual for an English palate but when it's cooked this well you have to trust the chef. Classy joint all round, service and style both great too.

Beautifully presented dishes at a good price in relation to quality. Service very good if a tad slow at times. Generally a recommendable experience no real negatives unless you are in a hurry. Give it a try you're not likely to be disappointed. I would have given it four and a half stars.

Suggested by friends we decided to book a table and order the Gourmet Experience (including the wines). The 8 courses were are all very delicious and had a great selection of local specialties combined with some surprising wine selections. Combine this with the friendly staff, it's definitely worth a visit if you want to try the local kitchen!

Amazing food. Had the wild boar, pappadum, and ceviche. The flavors are amazing and extremely well cooked. The ceviche rivaled the better ceviches I’ve ever had. The wild boar had pumpkin, dates and was wrapped in bacon….amazing. The pappadum was a blend of various cultures and was delicious. My only compliant would be having a bit of background music. Food is incredible, service is great!

My wife and I just had the most amazing lunch here. Each dish was out of this world, a perfectly balanced fusion of flavours. We are not foodies but this was soooo good. Super high quality food for a very reasonable price. We will be going back tomorrow night for dinner! (yes it was that good).

Very nice interpreted food. We ate a variation of starters with seafood donut, a perfect cheeseburger with awesome BBQ sauce and many more. Afterwards we ate atun semi asado with tomatoes and cheese sauce. Something you have to try!!! Just pure joy. Service was really really good, super empathic and helpful with wine and our food choice.

Inventive food that tasted divine. If you like fusion food done well, this place is for you. It was very quiet when we went on a Tuesday night, and all diners were tourists. The atmosphere was incredibly quiet. I would’ve preferred a bit more of a vibe. Perhaps some background music would help. Service was friendly and attentive.

Amazing and tasty food. Everything I tried was of great quality and was presented in a fun and pretty way. The ingredients were balanced very well and the different textures complemented each other. It was so much fun to experience each plate and figure out the ingredients with each bite.

We had a pretty amazing sunset at San Sabastian and the walk made us hungry so we decided to grab some tapas and wines so what best to visit La Isleta de la Vina - walk in and were asked to sit right at the end the place was almost full at 8:15pm with locals but we came for some great Andalucian wines and yes yes yes the had horizontal wine parings of white , red and sherry wines for 9.59 euro the bar server was very friendly and the owner joined later on with the service too my wife speaks fluent Italian and her Spanish is so so and we are a mix couple but they knew we loved wines the way we were excited and explaining how amazing and least expensive the great wines were first we were served just half a glass which was fair but later the measurement were more and more had a great time the service got better and the evening was a memory to remember! Thanks to everyone for making such a amazing night !

Elias what a fantastic front of house waiter, he recommended the tuna , beef, and incredible leek croquettes also the Jeres Sherry. Incredible flavours this place would easily be Michelin in m eyes. The produce and execution is on par with many I have been to across European cities. Just astounding and it’s a must visit when in Cádiz!!

Great little place for food: wine tasting available, huge selection of great wine, sherry and brandy. Food is a good alternative to tapas. Waitress was super patient with our very limited Spanish! Ate the pork cheek and yummy bacaloa. Forget to take pics of food but all available in there website! Xx great ambiance and decorations inside.?

Our last night in Cadiz and we've just found the most amazing restaurant - La Isleta de La Viña on C. Corralón de los Carros. A mix of fine dining and gorgeous wines at a very reasonable price, but the best thing is the relaxed setting on the street with kids playing in the square where we just watched the world go by. Maria was so helpful and this place is a hidden gem.

This is gem of a place, been here twice now, excellent wine and sherry. Great service. The food is chefy and very good. This is the best I've eaten in cadiz and a goto place. Sorry don't go here or it will spoil it for those that know and queue for a table...

Best meal we had in Cadiz, and we have tried the usual recommendations like Manteca and Lazo. Highly recommend the octopus, cod and trio of sardines.

Best place to go to watch the sunset. Good view, nice drinks and not that expensive. I wish we don't close at nights :)

Watched the sunset here before attending a gig at the Castille. It wasn't too busy given everyone was emptying out from the beach, and they managed to fit me in to sample another truffle extravaganza in the form of a sweaty burger on brioche with heaps of caramelised onions, basic yes, but filled the hole prior to the event. The vermouth was free poured and the service was attentive and funny. A nice atmosphere with a lovely view of the purple haze of sundown. Special mention to the waiter with the light brown curtains - he has a certain charming indifference about him.

Wonderful place ocean front, right on the Malecon facing the Santa Catalina castle, the food here was very good as well as the service, out of this world view and great ocean breeze, lively atmosphere.

This is the only time in my life I have felt compelled to leave a bad review. After waiting for 15 minutes to be seated and a further 20 until our order was taken. We then waited over an hour for any food to appear. The food, of course, was not what we had ordered. A vegetarian amongst my group was served a pork dish etc. It wasn’t even remotely busy. The wait times are totally unjustifiable. The food was (eventually) OK. Nothing remotely special. Above average pricing. I seriously urge everyone to avoid this place at all costs.

Food was “OK”/Good - the key issue was the wait. Despite showing 20/30min in the menu, we ended up waiting 1h+ for our food. Additionally, because there were only two waiters for the whole restaurant, we also had to wait a long time to be able to pay (despite calling them several times).

I recommend going to this restaurant. It offers good and local food, great views and an english online menu. I had the salmon bruschetta, truffle burger and chocolate lavacake. Each dish tasted fantastic and they are easy recommendations. The bruschetta consists of 3 pieces, so you could share but it tastes so good you might want to finish it on your own! The service was good. Staff was friendly, efficient and understood english just fine. The pace wasn’t very high with our main dish coming in at about an hour after taking place. Because of the great scenery it didn’t really bother me but it is worth noting.

Delicious and fresh dishes right in front of the sea, next to the famous La Caleta beach. We loved the tuna tartar! The waiter was very kind. Prices are reasonable given the location, with views to the sea. A great place to stop by and enjoy a tasty meal!

This place has great reviews and we were left really disappointed. We ordered a pizza and it was poor. The base was hard, no seasoning, and the ham was the sort of ham I would avoid buying ever! The stuff that’s made up of churned up random pieces of pig, boiled ham and tasteless. Cheap SF. I mean look at the picture!! The pizza lacked flavour. Then they tried to charge us €60 for a €20 bill. I had to point out the issues twice. Tried to charge up twice for everything then for a bottle of wine instead of a glass. If we didn’t look at it we could easily have tapped, paid and left without realising. Potential scam or genuine mistake? The upside. The pizza is fine and cheap. But not great pizza. We have a pizza oven at home and make farrrrrr better pizza than this. The seating is uncomfortable from the hard stools to the bar without a ledge to put your legs under.

This a very nice and cozy place to visit if you're craving some Italian food. The focaccia is excellent and the food in general is very fresh! They don't have a lot of pasta options but they do have quite an extensive menu for pizzas. The pizzas are very nice and the tomato sauce is delicious.

As a starter we had the truffle burrata that was ridiculous good! As a main course I had the spicy salami pizza that was good but a little bit to oily. Still a good dish. Overall the experience was amazing service and chefs where awesome 👏🏽

We had a fabulous lunch here. The pizza was thin in the center with crispy bubbly edges. The gnocchi with a tagarnina and pumpkin sauce was a revelation! The service was friendly and the vibe fun. We will be back soon.

Food was nice - I went in July 2024. And i still miss the nice waiter there. He was handsome and had long white hair 🥹 I spoke to him like twice and he’s really amazing.

We enjoyed a lunch outdoors and had very good service. First time trying carabineri prawns carpaccio, fresh fried fish and very good crispy shrimp pancakes and a delicious pork kebab cooked to perfection.

Good food, lively atmosphere, great staff I think they open for dinner at 8:30pm get there a little earlier since they get pretty full.

If you want white wine by the glass it's only quite mediocre house wine available apparently, despite the table of 3 next to us being offered a wine list and having a bottle of far better white recommended. Maybe a misunderstanding? Very disappointing nonetheless. Then the tuna dish was overcooked/ dry and no finesse with flavours - just a very very basic slab of it unceremoniously on a plate. Feels as if this place is relying very heavily on it's very charming setting. Service was 'functional' - waiters seemed preoccupied and too busy to really take time to make your evening special.

This restaurant is on one of the cutest streets in Cadiz. The buildings are colorful, the palm trees, everywhere, across the street is the beach, and the end of street is a gorgeous church. There are seatings outside with big umbrellas. There are lots of fish selections. My friend had her fish, and she thought that it was delicious and tender. The service was good also. The inside has an interest in collection of posters and artwork.

We had a great Sunday lunchtime exerience here today. Meson Crilolo do not accept table reservations but arrivng at around 1:30 there were a couple of tables free in the shade. Service was prompt and efficient and staff accommodated our poor Spanish. Nice convivial atmosphere. Food was delicious especailly the grilled sardines which were melt-in-the-mouth. House white wine by the glass was perfectly OK. One small gripe: one dish we ordered failed to arrive and when we chased, they double charged us. We didn't realise until we'd paid and actually the meal was good value so we didn't complain. Would definitely go back. Recommended

The food was very tasty and served with a smile. Everything was clean and efficient. We chose the smoked salmon salad and the pork steaks.

The salad was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and well-balanced. The paella, while generous in portion and packed with seafood, fell a bit short in terms of flavor. I've had better elsewhere, and for the price, it felt a bit overpriced. We paid 15€ per person for the paella, which seemed too much for the taste and quality. Overall, it was still an enjoyable experience, but I expected more from such a signature dish.

This is a nice place some typical seafood from Cádiz in front of the beach. The place is relaxed and chill, the food is pretty decent and tasty but the service is a bit messy. Overall, a good restaurant to spend the afternoon or evening with friends.

I was craving Paella and this was the only place in Cadiz, we ordered Paella for 2 for 30€ which I think is very expensive regarding the place and the overall atmosphere wasn’t fancy! The paella had fish but the taste wasn’t very great honestly. I also got a salad for starter and the portion was good!

We have never been to a rice restaurant before and it was a great experience. We had the mixed meat and seafood paella which was very good, with fried calamari as a starter. Great service, but be patient as it takes a bit of time to cook a paella...allow 30 minutes.

I went here after searching in local guides. I ate a calamares and asked if they have patatas bravas. They didn’t , but put papas aliñadas. It was sauce with potato not other way round. Anyways the calamares was hard and not so tasty. Place was cosy but overall i didnt like food

The 3 stars are for the kitchen itself, if I had to make a review for the chef, it would be 5-star, they cook good, the food is delicious and tasty. The seafood is really fresh and you can be sure you’ll have a good lunch here. Even the problematic pieces were completely fine like the oysters. But there are serious problems with the management. They are trying to get every coin of the guests, forcing them to pay more in every, even dishonest way. While you are waiting, they are serving you fried sardellas, rolls and crackers and they pretend these are gifts. Definitely not, but instead of charging a low amount for them, they charge 2-3 euros per item which can end in a serious bill in the end itself without consuming any ordered food. When the bill is asked, you have to be very careful, needed to send back the bill 4 times, because it contained items what weren’t ordered nor served. They use abbreviations on the bill what is really confusing. And the toilet is an another thing, a restaurant like this shouldn’t have a toilet like this. No lock on the door, even it is impossible to close properly. The bathroom looks like it hasn’t been cleaned for a week or so.

Alamar was a terrific find for us. Pepe was our host and really looked after us, with some excellent wine and fish recommendations. We had the octopus and bass (both very fresh), as well as spanish sherry and white wine. Would recommend.

We very much have enjoyed our dinner this evening, starting with mussels (mejillones al vapar) followed by grilled red snapper (pargo) finishing with porcion cookie. Excellent quality of the food and services. Highly recommended.

Expensive food and very slow and bad service. Expect 1h40 to be served after ordering even outside a busy time. Claims were empty and sauce was bitter. Dorada one piece for 50€!!

I had a fantastic experience in Alamar restaurant! 😀 Delicious seafood (octopus, shark etc) and tasty local drinks really made my day. If you are in Cadiz please take time to visit this establishment and enjoy it's atmosphere. Cadiz is an awesome city and this restaurant would be a great point to start the exploration 😉

Excellent! The staff were all first class, friendly and helpful. We were given tapa of boquerones while we waited on our paella, best we've had in a long time. Exceptional taste and cooked to perfection. Every plate coming out looked as appetizing as the next. Would highly recommend.

This gelato spot was a total treat! The ice cream had the perfect balance—not overly sweet, just smooth, creamy, and full of rich flavor. You can really taste the quality in every bite. Had the best gelato in Cadiz here. The pistachio flavour and “galleta Maria” were very tasty and the staff is very friendly. Definitely recommend it if you’re craving some gelato in Cádiz.

Narigoni Gelato is a mixed bag of a place. On the one hand, the staff is nice and helpful, and they have a good variety of flavors to choose from. On the other hand, the shop is poorly laid out, and it’s hard to tell where to sit or order. The seats in the back are actually part of the restaurant next door, which is confusing and inconvenient. The ice cream itself is decent, but not outstanding. Some flavors are better than others. The strawberry was disappointing, as it tasted artificial and had a weird pink color. It seemed like they used too much additives and sweeteners. The lemon was delicious, though, with a refreshing and natural taste. The ice cream is very creamy and smooth, but also quite expensive for the quality

I went here 5 times in 2 weeks during my middle school students’ study abroad trip. Only twice was with the kids. Excellent, creamy gelato and delightful service. Great view of the cathedral (you pay slightly more for that location, but it’s worth the price.) They were patient with our Spanish-learners and tourists alike. Reminds me of Argentine helado in style, taste, and texture.

Love the vibes of this place! Perfect place for relaxing, work and people watch. They have good treats and good coffee options. Staff is nice. However I think they are short in staff and sometimes you have to wait a long time to place your order.

Stopped by for lunch.. Coffee was not good, watery brown milk is what we got. (See pic below) Quality of good is basic. Turkey tostada was dry, Chicken wrap was nice. Chicken empanada was nice. The waitresses serving the tables were frantic and not very friendly.. a bit rude almost.

La Vaca Atada – Cádiz We stopped here for an espresso and ice cream, and it was a wonderful choice. As very particular coffee drinkers and ice cream lovers, we can say both were truly excellent. The chocolate and mango-yogurt flavors were absolutely delicious. Lovely place, attentive service, and such a charming setting — perfect for sitting back and watching life go by. Highly recommended! I ordered a fresh orange juice with a portion of carrot cake. The carrot cake was sweet but the texture was not the best one.The place is modern. A good place to have a coffee outside. The service is a little bit slow.

This is a great place to grab some breakfast if you're in the area. The restaurant itself is very clean and modern feeling. They have seating both inside and out, though the inside seating can get a little tight. They have a simple menu but all of the food we had tasted great and was fresh. They also have a good sized coffee menu. The specially coffee drink we tried was great. Service was also fast and friendly!

Very cozy family style place, staff are welcoming. Dishes are prepared with heart. Though the staff there are not good at English, we managed to communicate and it was a lot of fun:-) we were there twice and liked all dishes we tried . e.g. Chickpea stew with prawn , pork tenderloin with mustard sauce, and their desserts - flan , lemon mousse.

I found the portions very small. The Potaje de Judías Verdes y Calabaza featured only a very small lonely piece of squash! I went with a friend who goes often and she said the gazpacho was watered down. That being said it was still very delicious and I highly recommend it! Only a couple of starters are vegetarian - the rest all meat or fish. Uncomfortable chairs.

You'd wish you were here! The Restaurant is absolutely beautifully set right at the beach so the view is amazing everywhere you sit. The food is fresh and portions are plenty. The staff is fast and very polite. We recommend you ask for Veronica and Jesus, there both a godsent. Nothing left to say but enjoy!

Stopped in Cadiz on our cruise. We stopped here for lunch. The waiter spoke little English and we spoke less Spanish 😂🤣 but we tried our best. There was kids friendly chicken fingers and chips. I ordered a bluefish tuna nacho meal. (The tuna is raw so beware Brits) And a chicken ceasar salad (which never came?!) I shared the nachos with my partner. I ate most of the tuna. Not what I'd usually order but it was nice. My partner couldn't eat it. They tried billing us for the ceasar salad but managed to explain they'd not brought it out so got removed from the bill. €100 was more than we were expecting for a lunch out but lesson learnt. (Need to scrub up on my Spanish) Overall it was a nice relaxing place to be. The food was presented really well but just not to our taste. I've marked the service down for not receiving all of our order and being billed for it.

Nice interieur, quiet but attentive staff who delighted in explaining all the food options and choices they have on their daily menu. Various kind if seafood and beef. We ended up with some appetizers and then shared 900 g of a 110 day dry aged ox - not cheap but worth it, one of the best steaks I had.

A gem in Cadiz! The server was friendly and helpful. We had the soft shell crab to start. This was fantastic- perfectly cooked and seasoned with a little kick to it. Very good. We then had the creamy rice which was delicious and moorish. I think I could eat that every day. The steak was great and the side of padron peppers complimented beautifully. Finally the cheesecake was delicious .

I have lived here for a year and half and who knew one of the best restaurants in Càdiz was right around the corner from my house. Definitely have to get the rice, it’s so flavorful, if you love mushrooms like we do. The steak was cooked to perfection- medium rare. The outside tables are pretty unassuming compared to the other restaurants on the street with beautiful chairs and umbrellas, this place like I said does not have that allure. If they spruced up their outside compared to their food they would have much more business. Although, it was nice though to sit on a quieter part of that street. We are going back again this week.

We had a delicious Valentine's Day dinner. Julia, our waitress was super, she helped us understand the menu and offerings, which were plentiful. Soft shell crabs, a red pepper tapa, and rice with wild mushrooms, all were well done. We highly recommend the restaurant.

Great restaurant with a fantastic meat selection. We started the lunch with the anchovies and the tuna tartare. As main we ordered the chuleta de vaca simmental, the steak was huge 800 grams. The food was delicious and the service was extremely friendly and professional. Highly recommended!!!

Treated myself with a 700 gr, 40 days dry-aged rib-eye. The chef brought out the cut of meat prior to preparing it, then cut and sprinked it with a dash of sea salt after prep. It was absolutley delicious. I like my steak medium rare and it was prepared exactly as requested. It was so tender that it melt in my mouth. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Cosy atmosphere. Great wine, Rioja is my fav. If you are a meat lover, this place is highly recommended. I will def. visit you again once I am back to Cadiz.

A must-have stop for carnivores, with good aged beef meats, from local to international breeds, and cooked to perfection. But do not disregard the rest of their menu, anchovies were delicious, keep room to try the desserts. The venue is small and cozy, better book in advance right at the heart of Cadiz old city. Perfect to spend a day strolling the city and recover energies. Service was courteous and very helpful, they had done their homework and knew every detail about the menu, but specially about the meats. Highly remarkable staff! I strongly recommend this restaurant.

What a great sidewalk side restaurant. Not usually at all a foodie but lunched on a great combination of sliced tomatoes and olive oil and a side of the Iberian ham so popular in this region. The staff were also very friendly, while not English speaking, or so they professed but still very cordial. If we were not departing tomorrow I suspect we would go back at least once on a good weather day.

Found this completely by accident and had a great seafood lunch here. Rael was such a nice water and we loaded up on razor clams, sardines and tuna. Food was great! Service was outstanding (thanks) Followed by a Cadiz local wine. Definitely worthwhile

Nice afternoon lunch & drinks. We had the mussels in seafood sauce and the calamari in onion sauce. Both we’re delicious! Nice sunny spot mid-day (we were there mid-January).

Glass of fresh white wine, razor clams in white wine sauce and a lovely fresh tomato with olive oil, oregano and crunchy salt and the right amount of garlic flavor. One the house the orange wine liquor at the end of the meal. A bit above average compared to spanish prices, but at least you get fresh fish. Don't miss this place when you are in Cadiz, right beside the market which also deserves a visit.

Highly rated, so I went to check them out. Items I wanted were unavailable. Opted to have this pasta bolognese which was lacking in so many ways. I was hungry, hence didn’t get to take a picture before. But, that’s the after ( a lot of leftover ). Server is matter of fact kinda guy, which was okay. So if you want to abate your hunger you can get a quick bite here, but don’t expect much.

Dined here for lunch with my family. This place has great seafood and very friendly staff! Nice location with a terraza right outside of the central mercado in Cádiz. We loved the mejillones and zamburiñas in garlic white wine sauce and the fried sole. The side of pimientos de padrón complemented the food well. I recommend enjoying it all with a couple of glasses of albariño. We will definitely return!

Definitely need to book to be sure to get a table, as you'll notice the other places on the street have free tables but this place's tables are all reserved. Loved the clams and good local red wine. Very friendly and knowledgeable young chap waiting as well.

Very big portions. The food is decent.

A great dinner with dishes that really exceeded expectations. The snails were flavorful, served in a light but tasty broth. The fried calamari rings were crispy, not greasy at all. The cazón (fried dogfish) was the highlight of the meal — perfectly seasoned, tender, and with a light, crunchy coating. The grilled baby squid were tender and well-balanced with herbs. Fast and super friendly service. Honest, well-cooked food with real local flavor. Would definitely come back.

You would think that most places would welcome outside visitors. Coffee was good, but the servers were absolutely crusty. Tourists not welcome 😕

Only good for beer, coffee and drinks. The food is relatively poor. The portions are large and inexpensive but the flavour is not amazing. The staff are good but overworked. I would not recommend this place for food. Better to eat elsewhere. Every dish we tried was disappointing in flavour.

We have visited Bar Merodio a few times and the experience has always been great. David is a hard-working and friendly manager who really knows how to treat people well. The service is efficient and the food consistently delicious. The puntillitas are not to be missed. We will be back again soon.

TL:DR - recommend a visit. We had an enjoyable meal here. The staff were friendly and attentive and best of all the food was lovely, highly recommend the cheese with strawberry sauce (weird but delicious)

Went for our 2 year anniversary and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Food sensational, wine top tier, good value and lovely service

With such abundance of Michelin recommended restaurants in the region, we didn’t think we would come here twice in one week. But here we are. Original dishes beautifully presented and delicious. First time we took their tasting menu of 9 courses and were completely overwhelmed (could barely stand up from the table). Second time we went a la carte. They have the best so called Russian salad in the whole spain. Not sure why it’s still called this way through. Garlic prawns were excellent so was marinated mackerel. Out of the main courses we would single out omelette with oxtail stew. Local prawns crisps were amazing. All three desserts we tried were excellent- strawberry with cream, brownie with ice cream and pear. Great wine list and service too. Last but not least, the olive appetiser was an amazing surprise. Great value for money

We did the 7 course degustation for 38.5 euro plus the wine pairing for 25 euro. The food was excellent and started out on the small side but we had plenty by the end of meal. The wine pairing was interesting, went well with the food and glad that we did it. The service was impeccable. Wished we would have found it earlier in our month’s stay in June 2024. Would highly recommend for the great value.

We had a beautiful evening. The restaurant is elegant and intimate, the staff attentive, professional and really friendly. Amazing wines, by bottle and glass. The food was great as well, so all in all, complete satisfaction and highly recommended! More expensive than other restaurants, but as well higher level, so definitely worth the price.

Wow. One of the best meals of my life. If you’re in Cadiz COME HERE!! I had garlic prawns with sherry, wild tuna with pepper sauce, and French toast with thyme ice cream. My husband had sweet bread with mushroom, wild boar with roasted sweet potato, and goat cheese ice cream with pear. All of the food was excellent. Excellent service. And a beautiful bottle of wine. Perfect afternoon off the cruise ship.

Amazing meal at Contraseña! Loved every dish of our yummy tasting menu. I loved the tortilla de camarón, the gambas al ajillo and the torrija was one of the best I’ve had!

Bar right at the beach. With the great weather is was full and some people had to wait for tables. The bread costs extra but is not mentioned or written on the menu but simply put on your table. The food was nice. Waiters spoke different languages so communication was easy.

I stopped for a 5 min break from my motorcycle ride. Was kicked out of this place because I only wanted something to drink and not eat. If this how you treat your customers in 2025 that want to have a quick drink, you need to wake up!

Such a wonderful find!!! We just loved with our lunch there!! Was a bit difficult to order as almost no one spoke English but some of the patrons helped us.. but no worries! Just select anything and even if there will be a surprise it will most likely be a great one!!! No tourists there, no hidden costs, no hustling! This is an excellent typical tapas bar. Food is prepared to order. Wine is good as is the draught beer. Price reasonable, quality excellent . 8/10

Great local vibe that feels like family with good food great atmosphere and enjoyable friendly staff. Love this place and went everyday soaking up the authentic Cádiz vibe.

I would call it picturesque. In a relatively quiet corner. Cheap bar, with a warm atmosphere. Nice vermouth, nice sherry, lots of tapas, and prompt service.

We were a family of eight, one of whom was a five-year-old girl. The idea was to share dishes to try the widest possible variety of Cádiz cuisine. The first surprise was that although tapas were an option on the menu, they weren't available. We were required to order dishes, which we did. We ordered four portions of shrimp cakes, as the waiter said they were large, so we decided to share them; we also ordered a plate of cuttlefish and two plates of fried chicken. The food took over 40 minutes to arrive. The order wasn't complete; we asked for juice for the daughter (twice), and it was never served. We asked for lemon, and by the time it arrived, we had already finished the bite we were going to add the lemon to. The cakes and cuttlefish were quite acceptable. Nothing extraordinary considering the recommendation we received about the high standards of this restaurant. But the fried chicken wasn't that great. It was a tiny chicken cube so overcooked that it might as well have been chicken cracklings, except they weren't chewy. When it was time to pay, we wanted to split the bill (84 euros) between the three of us, so we went to the bar to report it. The man at the bar, a very rude man, told us that this wasn't possible, that he could only charge the full amount on the card reader. In the end, the three of us paid, and he reluctantly agreed to charge it. I'd give this place a 2 out of 5 for food, a 2/5 for service, and a 0/5 for customer service. I wouldn't return to this place, I don't recommend it. I hope Cadiz has other, better-maintained places that honor its majestic beauty and charm.

Dorada on the menu but no more available at 1pm. Lubina not being served at same time as the gambas. Latter ones not well cooked, no taste whatsoever. Wanted vegetables or salad with the gambas, not possible... only french fries, which we both did not like, the pigeons did 😉 all in all: service not attentive, slow and lacking coordination. Food choice limited. A rather disappointing experience.

Brillant location in Cadiz, close to the harbour and Cathedral. Very charming interior. Perfect service, we were 6 guests and got a variety of specialities within 10 minutes on our table. Will visit again!

We watched EL CLÁSICO match and we had a great time. Friendly staff and great service and vibe was fantastic. I definitely recommend this place

Food here is good and tasty. The service is disorganized and super slow. We ordered a couple of tapas and a couple of raciones, and we got them in reversed order. The raciones came first, then we waited more that 30 minutes before the tapas arrived. So if they got their act together and organized, this place would be great.
