Cocktail bar
La Factoría is a vibrant hangout with a rustic-chic vibe that has gained international acclaim for its excellent cocktails and classic bar bites. It's a local favorite in Puerto Rico, known for introducing mixology to the island. The bar consists of four different spaces, each with its own theme, including a room filled with rum-fueled dancers and a DJ playing until late. The middle space features old-school salsa music and boasts one of the best dance floors on the island.
It's probably the best cocktail bar I have ever been to. Great vibe. I feel like you're back in the Hemingway error. The bartender was awesome and talented. Made me a paper plane and my wife and lavender mule. Excellent. Highly recommend this place
Joe E — Google review
This was, hands down, our favorite spot in San Juan. We went both in the morning and at night, and both experiences were amazing. The bartenders were incredibly kind and professional — they prepared our cocktails right in front of us, based on personal recommendations, and really made us feel special. The cocktails were absolutely fantastic. We tried several different ones, and each had its own unique and delicious flavor. The atmosphere is that of a stylish, elegant bar — I’ll share some photos! Whether you’re looking to relax after a long, hot day or wind down after a night out, this is the best bar in Old San Juan. Highly, highly recommended!
Tuğçe K — Google review
Oh my god, La Factoría with live salsa completely blew my mind! The vibe, the dancing, the music — it’s all just incredible. Definitely a place you can’t miss. The cocktails are excellent, and it’s such a cool experience discovering hidden little bars behind different doors. It does get really hot inside, but honestly, I had an amazing time and would go back in a heartbeat.
Carol H — Google review
I went to dance at this place with my friends because everyone recommended it. It did nit disappoint. It 's located in Old San Juan. Every room in this 2 story building has a bar with a different theme and music, so you can walk around from room to room and enjoy different types of music rhythms like Salsa, techno, reggaeton, techno, etc. The salsa room was packed with people dancing. It seemed like a good combination of locals and tourists.
Yarleny R — Google review
It's somehow highly rated, but not worth the hype. It's kind of different bars all in one place where you can hop on, but becomes costly as you step up! You go here just for the atmosphere, but not for anything else. Cocktails and the food are good and so is the location.
Raghu G — Google review
Reviewed as a bar when looking for delicious drinks this place was ok at best. We arrived close to open and all the additional rooms were closed, so we were told lots of drink options weren’t available. Staff were friendly and service speed was decent. It definitely sounds like this place is a lot of fun at night as basically a club, but definitely not a place for amazing drinks. If you’re looking for great drinks go to Kane Rum Bar. Overall for all the amazing reviews this place was ok, so if you want the best experience for what they offer go at night.
Coach T — Google review
La Factoría has the reputation that it has for very good reason!!! It IS the epicentre of fun, excellent vibes, superb live music and salsa dancing with people at all different levels. We went after finishing a late dinner on a Saturday night, and the vibes that we were hoping for - we received with open arms! There was no long line to get in, and it was definitely crowded inside. Getting drinks wasn’t too crazy of an ordeal — but most importantly, and I cannot stress this enough, it was SUCH an amazing time!!
Tania W — Google review
This bar definitely has a great atmosphere. It has different rooms and each room has its own bar. Music is always on point here; can be loud but you’re still able to talk. It’s a tourist area, prices are according to that. Tip: there’s an area most people don’t know about. Have fun looking for it.

Bar
El Batey Bar, located on Cristo Street, is a dive bar with a unique and eclectic atmosphere. The interior is adorned with chandeliers made of old business cards and walls covered in graffiti and cryptic messages dating back to the 1970s and 80s. The vintage record player sets the mood with music from artists like the Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin, and Draco Rosa.
One of the best dive bar I have visited. The bar has its own character with Stickers and Graffiti all over the place, and good music. If you are around this place I highly recommend to check out this place.
Dinesh G — Google review
Every time I'm in Old San Juan I have to stop at El Batey! Probably my favorite dive bar in the world. I love this place, and I always meet interesting characters there.
Syd K — Google review
Really enjoyed having a drink in a space that felt so different from the other bars in the area. It’s a super casual, grungy dive bar playing rock music. High ceiling rooms covered in graffiti/sharpie and lamps covered in dollar bills…I loved discovering all the random trinkets and drawings throughout.
Keyla R — Google review
Stopped by because the vibe looked fantastic. Killer music, great local crowd, excellent bartender, best atmosphere you could ask for. Will be back 100%

Beer hall
Bar & grill
Nestled in the heart of Old San Juan, La Taberna Lúpulo is a charming and laid-back taproom that boasts a wide array of craft beers on tap and in bottles, along with light bites to complement your drinks. The tavern's ambiance is inviting, with its soaring beamed ceilings, large oak doors opening onto the street, and a spacious wooden bar.
Some of the best beer for this popular area. Lots of choices of styles and brewery locations. They had a great selection of liquor, especially the randomly placed rum bottles. Their prices for liquor were all over the place, some bottles should have been higher while others probably lower. Staff were friendly and showed great attentiveness. Overall I was quite happy to find this place as it was a great place to relax and sip on a tasty beverage after walking around.
Coach T — Google review
La Taberna Lupulo is a great taphouse and restaurant in Old Town. They have a full bar, and nearly 50 beers on tap, with options not listed on the website. Roughly 1/2 their beers are local and with this many taps, they cover most styles. Their menu is not huge but what they make is really good. The atmosphere is great, it's big, open, and has the classic spanish old town feel. Service is friendly though the music can be a little loud. This is a spot I would stop at again.
Adam D — Google review
This is a great place to have a taste of the many kinds of artisan beers our island has to give! The service from the bartenders are always great and the bouncers at the entrance are very respectful. This time we had a female bartender and she is a very kind person. She takes the time to explain to you the flavors you might encounter on each beer. Overall, this is a great place to drink local artisan beer oh, and the music is always on point. We just don't like the "reggetón" music of other pubs around the Old San Juan area and this is the only place we can rely on to listen to good music because it is also not too loud for you to speak with your companions, and you can have a wonderful time there. Another note: the bathrooms are always very clean! I highly recommend this place to locals and tourists alike.
Mylene F — Google review
Fantastic spot for craft beer right in the heart of old San Juan. Whether you’re fat drinking or being rowdy out late, this pub is a definite must go to. You won’t regret it.
Alex R — Google review
Lady at my hotel sent me here. What an awesome bar.Great draft beers.I got 2 local ones orange and passion fruit. great food.I got the cheese bites and the crunchy chicken wrap and a delicious chicken sandwich. great bartenders. thank you Yamil!
Pro P — Google review
We had some snacks and beer at this place. The drinks were nice, and the beer was actually pretty good. However, the food was disappointing. The fish inside the taco was burnt, yet they still served it — which was quite frustrating. Despite the friendly staff and decent drinks, I wouldn’t recommend this place. The snacks were below average, and overall, it felt like a waste of time.
Tuğçe K — Google review
Absolutely loved this place. Sandra was exceptional, very attentive and friendly. She went above and beyond giving us great recommendations. I only got the chips and salsa but the salsa was amazing!!! Just the right amount of heat and super flavorful. Will definitely be saving this place for the next time I come.
Arcie T — Google review
Interesting and tasty beer/mead/drunk selection. 47 local and imported beers on the menu along with a few other unique options. I really liked how the bartender had a good story about each. Good place to do a bite or a drink. A “spritely” 10-minute hike from the cruise docks.

JungleBird is a cozy tiki bar located on the edge of La Placita in San Juan, known for its Taino-tropical drinks and imaginative bar food. The bartenders at Jungle Bird put a modern twist on the classic Pina Colada by combining tepache with Don Q Oro and coconut cream to create the Tepache Colada.
“This part of the city has a vibe all its own—think Jungle Bird meets a touch of NYC energy. It’s fun, exciting, and full of life without feeling overwhelming. The eats are amazing, the music sets the perfect mood, and the area has just the right amount of buzz. It’s a busy spot but never overcrowded, making it ideal for visitors looking for a great night out. Plus, with its cool atmosphere and unique style, it’s a fantastic place to grab some Insta-worthy pictures while you’re at it!”
Brandon W — Google review
JungleBird is located in a lively neighborhood with plenty of bars and music. I loved the cool aesthetic, and the vibe was great—everyone there seemed really happy. We only had drinks, but the food looked delicious and definitely worth trying next time.
Stacy A — Google review
Their mix drinks were average. It was hard to come here after Kane Rum bar which really put the standard high. Their prices were on par for the area just not the quality compared to Kane. We sampled some appetizers, but overall nothing was worth mentioning. Staff were friendly and service was fast, but the place was empty. Overall I really wanted to like this place it was just a let down.
Coach T — Google review
I’m soooo happy I found this cocktail bar. I tried a couple drinks and all of them were fantastic. The best part were the prices. $10-$14 for a drink that’s made with love and care? Go next door and pay $9 for a rum and coke.
Brandon S — Google review
Interesting place. The good: The drinks and service were great. The food was good as well. The other side: This places smell really weird. The music is quite loud and the tables and menus need updating. Would I go back? Probably, yes, the drinks were that good.
Steven D — Google review
I cannot speak highly enough about Junglebird and the lovely bartenders. My husband and I showed up like a couple of nerds at 5:01 to be sure we could get seats at the bar. We got super VIP treatment by Robertson and Ed.. they schooled us on PR tiki history and served the most amazing drinks.. my favorite of all time the green swizzle that I’ve since been obsessed with recreating. The food was also bomb. This review is a bit late. Went in December 2024. Can’t wait to return this December!
Emily V — Google review
I don’t say this lightly when I say, they have the best tuna tartare on the island. I’ve been visiting PR monthly for the past year and I’ve had a lot of opportunities to try different restaurants’ version on it, and JungleBird found the secret sauce! The drinks are good, i love the atmosphere and the service has always been acceptable…but I’m just here to tell you all to go try the tartare and report back!
Jessica J — Google review
Food shouldn’t be overlooked here. One of the best Mac and cheeses I’ve ever had and it was a special. Tiki cocktails are flawlessly made and service is kind and quick. Absolutely love this place. Can’t wait to recommend to friends who visit and to come back myself.

Nestled in the historic Miramar area of San Juan, Bar La Unidad is a dimly lit speakeasy-style bar known for its mixology-driven cocktail program and tapas-style bar food. It's considered one of the most romantic bars in the city, making it an ideal spot for a pre-dinner drink or nightcap. The bar offers a blend of classic cocktails with tropical Puerto Rican ingredients, such as the CocoLoco and Smoky but Berry Fresh.
Great spot to enjoy a delicious cocktail. They also have delicious appetizers. Excellent service.

We came with a few friends for drinks and had a great experience! The bartender made amazing drinks and the service was fantastic. Highly recommend!
Jazz R — Google review
Unidad is unique and gets a well deserved gold star from me. It is in fact my favorite bar to have ever visited and will remain a permanent staple in my visits to San Juan. The cocktails are made with an excellency that cannot compare to any place I have visited in other places. The bartenders are in fact the definition of mixological sorcerers, carefully crafting each elixir with an intoxication that can't be described. I came two nights in a row and left incredibly pleased. Make sure to reserve ahead of time, they have seen a surge in popularity and it's no longer a secret like it once was. There is no dress code, but I recommend looking a bit dapper for this one, as it has a charming esthetic. Although I am a bit of a frugal spender, the value of this place far exceeded my expectations and thus I feel it is justified in the pricing.
Squeak M — Google review
Chelimar was great and a friendly! This is the cutest speakeasy with the best drinks and we will be back for sure!
Charlene M — Google review
The cocktails are extraordinary. I got the smoky but berry fresh and the presentation was so great and the drink was amazing. We also got food and the steak was perfectly cooked. Highly recommend.
Ana F — Google review
The cocktail game is A-1, no cap. On the hunt for a speakeasy in PR we stumbled upon this gem. The cocktails were very delicious and unique. The names are very clever and fun and the mixes were all intriguing. Tons of unique combinations of flavors. The interior is very dark and sexy. I recommend making a reservation as this saves headaches and time. I won't disclose how to find the spot because what's the fun in that lol. Enjoy the Hunt. The staff was very knowledgeable and the atmosphere inside is also very elegant and sexy. Next time I'm in PR I will make another visit. Definitely a date night spot and be prepared to pay for quality. Cocktails do range at $15 price tags but honestly you look.fir.these types of places to elevate your experience and sometimes that means digging a bit deeper into your pocket. Very much worth it.
Eric — Google review
I came back after almost a year from my original review and this bar and restaurant continuing to improving, their quality of drinks, food, security and customer services. During my last visit I saw a art exhibition from one of the bar's staff. It's by far one of my favorite's places. A unique bar, great environment, with nice decoration and outstanding customer service. It serve food with great taste and better variety of drinks. Enjoy with the company of your best friends and love one's.

Barrachina is a historic indoor-outdoor venue located in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico. It is renowned as the birthplace of the world-famous Pina Colada, which was created by Don Ramon Portas Mingot in its magnificent courtyard back in 1963. The restaurant offers a diverse menu featuring Spanish, Puerto Rican, and international dishes that cater to every palate. Whether you're craving traditional local specialties or familiar international cuisine, Barrachina has something wonderful for everyone.
The food was absolutely amazing!!! First time in Puerto Rico and I would highly recommend. The staff was very welcoming and helped us with food selections. It was my First time eating Mofongo and I would tell everyone to try it! It’s a very hardy dish that reminds you of Homemade mash potatoes but better!
Freddie J — Google review
There's construction going on but still made the best of it. We are on a cruise and stopped in San Juan and was suggested this restaurant. The garlic shrimp was delicious. Pina Coladas were good very pineapple tasting. We also tried the Puerto Rican Delight. The empamadas looking things were good and the corn sticks were yummy. We were not a fan of the croquettes but that could be just us.
Ashley L — Google review
Barra China in Old San Juan is a good place to drink a cold and delicious piña colada at a reasonable price. The food was just ok and nothing to brag about, but tasty! I’ve always liked the tropical 🌴 atmosphere at Barra China, but after years and years of visiting this bar/restaurant I think that some remodeling and updates to the venue will bring in more business. The piña colada recipe continues to be the star ⭐️ of the show and the service friendly as always. See you soon BC! 🇵🇷
Alicia M — Google review
We tried their famous piña coladas—they were good, though I was hoping for a thicker, creamier texture. The appetizers were solid overall, but the standout was definitely the stuffed plantains. They were packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. A tasty start to the meal in a lively atmosphere.
Margarita S — Google review
Fun to try the first Pina Colada. We ordered food too and I would NOT order the skirt steak. I'm not sure what it was marinated with but we couldn't even take a bite and ended up paying for a full uneaten plate. We also had the seafood Mofungo. It wasn't my favorite but the seafood was decent. We did like the appetizer plate (2 person portion was easily split by 5). The staff were sweet and friendly! Nice little gift shop next door too.
Bree K — Google review
They were under construction, so I imagine the atmosphere will be amazing soon but was just ok for us. Food was good but not exceptional. Pina coladas are as good as expected for the reputation.
Crystal T — Google review
We went for the piña colada and it was good. They were closing so we were only allowed to get it to go. I felt like I was drinking my mom’s fermented pineapple juice extract. I think it was because it was the original, the bar tender couldn’t explain to us the meaning of the taste of it because to us it was different from other ones we had.
Ingrid H — Google review
If you come here stick to the Pina colada drinks!!! Read more and you’ll find out why. Let’s start with the outside, gorgeous exterior, great photo opportunities. We walked inside and waited for the hostess. We debated whether on grabbing drinks to go vs enjoying drinks at the bar but it was crowded. After waiting a couple of minutes at the to go bar we decided to dine in. Service was still slow at the dining area and the waitress made a comment that she would not be able to greet our table anytime soon since she had other tables. We were there for almost 20minutes or so before we were able to place our order. Eventually she greeted our table and she was fairly pleasant. Of course we ordered Pina coladas which were absolutely delicious. My homegirl is a slow drinker and surprisingly she finished her drink before me! The tostones with pollo and plantanos with mariscos were decent. It lacked flavor but for the price and how hungry we were at that moment we still ate it.

10/10 dining experience. Sat at the bar with my husband to celebrate our first anniversary. Lucky for us, they had our favorite wine on their wine list so we started the night with a bottle. Our dishes arrived in a steady manner, and everything we ate was incredible. Service was spectacular, and we were very well attended to.
Shad B — Google review
Santaella was hands down the best dining experience we had in San Juan. Every dish was bursting with flavor and presented magnificently, the cocktails were delicious and balanced, and the service was warm, attentive, and genuine. The atmosphere is vibrant yet intimate, making it feel special without being stuffy. Yes, it’s pricier than most spots in San Juan, but the quality easily matches Michelin-level restaurants in NYC. Absolutely worth every penny and HIGHLY recommended!
Marcus N — Google review
Finally was able to make a reservation this past Saturday. We were sat immediately and Julian was our server. We started with drinks. My brother had the Paper Plane which he enjoyed and I had the Tamarind Margarita. We ordered half the menu and the standouts were the shrimp bao buns, jamon croquetas, goat cheese truffle honey quesadilla for appetizers. The entrees also met our expectations. My shrimp trifongo was creamy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. My hubby's NY strip steak was cooked to temperature and my brother said his fried chillo was the best he's ever had. The vibe when we entered (about 7pm)was weird since they were playing like elevator music but towards the end closer to 9pm they started playing house music. Was hoping they would dim the lights a little as the night progressed but it remained very bright in the dining room. Aside from that minor grievance, we had a very positive experience. Thank you Santaella.

So reservations were made for 5 ppl at 10:30PM but seems like they don’t have a time limit on how long people can spend on a table simple because and we spent over 25-30 mins waiting on a table…. At the beginning the experience was not it honestly, especially when you are hungry and the last reservation of the night. So it started off rocky and then when seated certain food items were not available, I really wanted to be optimistic and really give them a chance sooo here it goes… what made it special was a couple of things its right next to La placita, very busy yet fun to go fine dining and party afterwards. However, for me was ambience it was busy but the jazz music really gives the vibes a flow. Even though certain food were not available the waiters provide us with other options to select of seafood, appetizers, red meat. The Chorizo empanadilla delicious, filled with chorizo and maduro. The GOAT quesadilla was what won my heart, so delicious and flavorful with goat cheese over arugula, drizzled writhing a sweet syrup yummy. Popcorn chicken with a sweet curry was good too. But after being told the pastel on was no longer available the chef decided to make us one from scratch and let me tell you IT DID NOT Disappoint! It was delicious, the maduros were smashed in perfect texture, ugh reminds my oh my grandmas pastel on. Let just say it made the beginning of the experience forgetting. The Service very friendly and on top. Even though we did catch a dish that was a bit dirty but that didn’t stop us from getting drinks, which were great and strong.

A bit disappointed. I feel this place is overrated. Nice location, good ambiance, but the food was just OK. Probably good for drinks and meeting people, but from a food quality perspective, I've been in other places in this town that in my opinion are much better for the price you pay. Service was cordial but a bit slow. We got couple of appetizers and one main dish to share but it took almost 2hrs to go through it. Only highlight of the night was the Goat Cheese Quesadilla, flavorful and the White Truffle oil gave it a good dimension. The popcorn chicken was ok, but won't be memorable. And we felt the Lacón Asado (Braised Pork) was too dry, and the caramelized part was not enough to balance it. It felt like a holiday dish that needed a cherry compote, or a cranberry sauce to complement it. For dessert they didn't have the Baked Alaska but we got an alternative Caramel Cake with flambeed meringue, but unfortunately it was extremely sweet. Desserts need a balance too.

The food and drinks were an absolute 10/10. Very unique flavors that work amazing together. Highly recommend the calamari appetizer and pork belly entree! Unfortunately, we did not have the best service during our dinner. Our server was not very attentive to take our orders and it took almost an hour for our entrees. I had told the host that it is my partner’s birthday and if they did something. He said he would tell our server and they brought out whipped cream in a ramekin with a candle…for the price and class of the restaurant - I expected so much better. I would have no problem paying for dessert if they had told me we had to get something.

Exceptional experience!! So great we were blessed to eat here 2 nights in a row!! Our flight was very late getting in and most restaurants closing, but Reinaldo found us 2 seats at the bar. We had grilled octopus appetizer and the seabass entree. The flavors were devine!! Jonathan at the bar has a real talent mixing the exotic cocktails that are offered. He was also very kind and helpful to suggest different dinner and drink options. The service here is exceptional. The second night we loved the ahi pops and tried an ages Puerto Rican rum tasting. Such a beautiful place with magical food and drinks and kind people. Thank you so much. I can’t wait to try out my new cookbook.

We got reservations for Santaella because we heard it was supposed to be amazing. Upon arrival we realized they gave us reservations for Azeteo even though the reservation clearly showed Santaella, which is still the same owners but their menu is significantly different with way less options. We ordered a good amount of food and it tasted good. The portions were small and the prices were on average for higher end food. Overall the meal was fine we were just looking forward to the Santaella menu!

La Penúltima is a popular hangout for bartenders, known for its elevated Pina Colada and creative cocktails like the El Bandolero. The bar takes mixology seriously, using techniques like centrifuging juices and liquid nitrogen to chill glasses. Alongside craft beers and curated wines, La Penúltima also offers delicious food such as ceviche, cubanos, and disco fries.
Great bar with really nice food and a wide selection of local beverages. There’s an indoor space with a bar and kitchen. The music in there can be a bit loud, but outside they have plenty of seating and still a nice atmosphere. Between the two, you’ll find something you like. I preferred to sit outside to enjoy my wings and disco fries.

Stumbled upon this cool corner bar while waiting for a nearby dinner reservation, and it turned out to be a gem. The cocktails were outstanding, and the food smelled incredible; definitely coming back to try it. The bartender kept things moving smoothly, even during the rush. While indoor space is limited, there’s a spacious outdoor patio out back that adds to the vibe.
Andrew L — Google review
We stopped by Penúltima around 5pm on a Thursday and the place itself was cool. The layout is great, very open and unpretentious, and the extensive menu with a solid spirit selection definitely stood out. The open kitchen concept is a nice touch too. We kept it simple with a couple Medalla beers, one cocktail, and a crème brûlée. The beer was canned (expected at $2.50). The cocktail was a mezcal Paloma riff. It wasn’t bad, but I would have elevated it with some carbonation and a better presentation like a long cube or pebbled ice with a dried citrus garnish. The star of the night was the crème brûlée. It was delicious: light, airy, creamy, rich, and decadent. Where things went wrong was the service. The bartender didn’t make us feel welcome at all. He seemed annoyed, ignored us when we tried to order more (which is just lost money for the bar), and it took forever to get the check. You can have great food and drinks, but if the hospitality isn’t there, people won’t want to come back. Overall, Penúltima has potential. I’d return to try the smash burger (which looked popular) and maybe more cocktails, but hopefully next time with better trained staff who understand service makes the experience.

I asked for a Puerto Rican classic, Nabil hooked me up with a Rum old fashioned. Can't recommend enough. Disco fries on top, perfection. Great bar to come if you're looking for a taste of nightlife, excellent food, and high quality drinks.

Nice chill party vibe. The crowd was friendly. Drinks were great. The buffalo wings and fries were tasty. I had the Isla barquean fizz - I enjoyed it.

Probably the best cocktails in San Juan. Alternative and unconventional place, they also serve savory dishes, with vegan alternatives. They have a backyard were you can sit and dine. Perfect for after hours or a pre game cocktail. The Smashed Burger is AMAZING!
Raul R — Google review
The bar has amazing wines but the staff is so rude. They act like they are doing you a favor and they will literally ignore or cut you off. I went twice because the wine selection is pretty good but both times I got the worst service. They also tried to have me pay double the price I paid the day before for the same bottle of wine. I told them how is it double a day later and then they said it was a discount they gave the day before. Do not recommend at all!
Jessenia R — Google review
The best bar in all of San Juan! Impeccable friendly service, tastefully curated wines (THEY HAVE ORANGE WINE, multiple good ones!) a backyard, and delicious food. We ordered three rounds of the shishito peppers. The wings and disco fries were perfect too. Still thinking about the ever so slightly savory sesame martini as well. Overall an excellent bar for lovers of natural wines, elevated pub food, and good bohemian vibes.

The Mezzanine in Catano, Puerto Rico offers a unique experience with its 1950s Old San Juan ambiance. The bar is located in the home of Pedro Albizu Campos, a leader of the Puerto Rican nationalist movement. Despite its historical significance, The Mezzanine serves classically inspired drinks with a tropical twist such as the Guava Cosmo and Patria Libre. The bar's rustic interior and generous happy hour attract both visitors and locals.
What an awesome find. We had struggled to find a place open for dinner on a Monday night. We tried 3 places and finally decided to give the Mezzanine a try. We were welcomed in, even though Eloy was the only one working he still made sure we were tended to. A great job managing the whole place regardless of the staffing. Eloy had great recommendations for drinks and great conversation as well. The food was absolutely delicious and the drinks even better. We actually never sit at the bar anywhere but if you come here, just do it, the experience and conversation with Eloy and the other staff that arrived later was so welcoming. We hope to come back soon and if you are in the area, DO NOT MISS The Mezzanine. Thanks Eloy!!! -Ethan & Michaela

🌟 5 Stars – A Must-Visit in Old San Juan! 🌟 N Mezzanine was an absolute gem! Tucked away with charming ambiance and a cozy, elevated vibe, this spot instantly became one of our San Juan favorites. We tried the shrimp & pineapple dish — the flavors were bold, fresh, and perfectly balanced. The fish tacos were equally amazing: crispy, well-seasoned, and topped with vibrant slaw and just the right touch of spice. To drink, we enjoyed an Old Fashioned made with Maker’s Mark — expertly crafted and smooth — and a refreshing house cocktail that was bright, citrusy, and ideal for the warm Puerto Rican evening. Service was attentive but relaxed, and the overall vibe was chic without being pretentious. Highly recommend if you’re looking for great food, creative cocktails, and a memorable experience in Old San Juan!

The saving grace to our experience was the shrimp with pineapple and the aioli and our lovely server. Now the worst - The sweet and sour meatballs straight up tasted like something out of Chef Boyardee canned ravioli or the meatballs that come in them. We took a bite and were like nope. Luckily our server gave us grace and offered for us to get a replacement, which we did again with the shrimps. No wait for a table on a Tuesday night. We sat on a high table on the balcony which so cool to people watch. Drinks were okay.

Hidden gem in Old San Juan. Located on the second floor of a lovely historical building, with arched balconies overlooking the picturesque views of this magestic part of town. The design is sophisticated, ambience is chill and pleasant Food is delicious and the cocktails are absolutely amazing. Bonus - the downstairs cafe of St. Germain is also highly recommended

We had such an amazing dinner here. The tapas were great but our server was better! Adrienne was our best server of the trip! She went above and beyond to make sure our friend's anniversary dinner was special and gave great food suggestions. We loved all the tapas except the Mac and cheese. Restaurant Seemed sketchy from the outside but we went up the stairs and loved it all.

This is a great place and location. Right down in old San Juan on the 2nd floor, they have a bunch of drink specials and great food. We visited on a Saturday night. This place was happening with a lot of traffic. We were able to sit on the balcony, and people watched for a while and had a little dinner and some cocktails while we sat here and people watched. It's a lot of fun. Definitely stop by.

We stumbled upon this sweet spot on a Thurs around 5pm. The service was top of the line. The food was delicious. We had the ceviche and patata bravas. It’s a vibe. Editing to add: we came back an additional four more times during our trip. The brunch was stellar. We had mimosas and an incredible brunch. You guys are amazing!

Eloy and Lorna were magnificent! The experience was nothing short of perfect. The ambiance was relaxing. Dim lit, music not too loud, and balcony seating for two. It is freaking awesome. Very romantic. Came here for our honeymoon and this place was absolutely a highlight. In fact, we had brunch downstairs at the St. Germaine (same owners, different aesthetic and vibe- both outstanding) and now we are here for cocktails and dinner. We will be returning to Puerto Rico just for this experience. Both Eloy and Lorna were very informed and shared the rich history and significance of this particular establishment on Puerto Rico’s history. Just awesome. Don’t miss out.

Scryer Rum Barrelhouse & Rooftop is a must-visit destination for rum enthusiasts in Puerto Rico. This craft rum distillery and cocktail bar, located at 259 Calle Tetuan, offers a unique experience that blends creative flair with a neighborhood vibe. The owners' resilience after Hurricane Maria is reflected in the establishment's ambiance and offerings. Visitors can enjoy small-batch, cask-seasoned rums while taking in stunning views of Old San Juan from the rooftop.
Great little place we ran into walking the streets of Old San Juan. They make their own Rum and have some excellent drinks. We met one of the founders, Derek, and had a great conversation with him about his background and our home. They are looking to expand into New York and I think they will do great there. I had the Claude and Sherry and Dark & Stormy which were both awesome and appropriate for walking back to our cruise ship.

As always, this is just my personal review. This place has its own style—if you're looking for a Mojito or other ordinary drinks, you’d better look elsewhere. Here, cocktails are for those who appreciate style and authenticity. They do have familiar drinks, but for the full experience, it's best to go for their signature cocktails. As for whether I’d come back—definitely yes! And if you have the time, visit the rooftop in the evening—it’s an unforgettable experience.

Nice place in the streets of old San Juan with a great Atmosphere, good stop if you need a break to get out of the sun with very detailed cocktail menu. Their house rum was quite delicious. We had time to kill for a reservation so we came upon this place and so happy we did. Their prices atmosphere was relaxing. The staff were upbeat and service was fast. Their prices were more than fair. All Their all the rum we tried was seriously delicious. I definitely should have bought more bottles. Overall if you’re looking for a chill place to hang and sip tasty rum give them a chance.

A Hidden Gem in Puerto Rico! Scryer Rum is truly a hidden gem. Their house rum is absolutely delicious — smooth, rich, and unlike anything else I’ve tried. I’ve visited several whiskey distilleries across the U.S. and abroad, and this place easily ranks at the top of my list. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the passion behind their craft really shows in every detail. My only wish is that they could sell their rum directly on location, but beyond that, everything about the experience was outstanding. If you’re in Puerto Rico and enjoy spirits, this is a must-visit spot. Highly recommend!

La Cubanita is a vibrant and nostalgic bar located in the heart of Old San Juan, offering a cozy and lively atmosphere with infectious Latin rhythms. The bar specializes in crafting eclectic Cuban-inspired cocktails, showcasing Puerto Rican sensibilities conjured up by celebrated bartender Roberto Berdecia. The disheveled-chic theme woven through the decor adds to the ambiance that immediately transports visitors to the streets of Havana.
One of my favorite bars I’ve ever been to. Go to the “desvio” side room where there’s no menu but the bartender will make you a bespoke cocktail curated to your taste. Amazing vibes and friendly service. In the entire world this is one of the bars I think of first when people ask the best places I’ve been to

Bartenders and service were great and super knowledgable. I highly recommend the Cocolo which is extra refreshing on warm days, other highlights included the Beso de Marcel and a Paper Plane. If you ask the bartenders, they can pretty much make anything for you and it'll be great like the Boulevardier I had.

Absolutely loved the house cocktails! The place itself is very welcoming and very nice. The bartender was amazing! She was very attentive!
Michael M — Google review
This isn’t food. It’s cocktails. Better than anywhere on the islands. These people know how to make drinks. I asked for a cocktail commemorating our time in the Caribbean, evoking its beauty. He made me a wonderful smooth Caribbean old-fashioned with Kahlua and chocolate bitters. Then I asked for something reflecting the fruit and flavors of the islands and he made a coconut rum drink that was smooth, distinctive and multi-flavored. Finally (my wife and I were sharing these) I asked him for his version of a classic, and he made a wonderful Daquiri with pineapple rum. These are served in proper glasses. I wanted to stay but had to go to dinner. I left full of ideas for my own cocktails.

Was there like 2 weeks ago. Got there kinda early so it was a little empty. Was just wondering the roads and heard some music and walked in 😂 the bartenders were sweet and very attentive. The drinks were DELICIOUS! Will DEFINITELY come here again on my next trip to PR

I mean…the drinks were good…but this place was a bit rough around the edges. The guy working there was cleaning the floors and was putting the nasty bucket of mop water on the counter. On the drink stand. Right next to us. (See filthy red bucket in photo right next to the clean glasses.) also they had a massive fruit fly infestation. They were covering everything. Maybe we found them on a bad day since all the other reviews are amazing but dang. Can’t get past the mop water.

We came here for the views. We had a great waitress, she was honest and told us the food would take a while. We had shrimp mofongo and mini alcapurrias. They definitely took a while but weren’t bad! I never expect much from this type of bar when it comes to food but besides the wait, it wasn’t bad.

While the atmosphere and views here are great, the service was very very slow, but they were nice. It’s took 30 min to get one drink and the place was not busy. I’d recommend coming here for drinks, for the nice view. The food was not great, mofongo was dry and it lacked flavor even with adding ajillo sauce. Don’t recommend getting food here, if you only have 2 hours,it’ll take too long.

Only reason a have it a 4 out of 5 it's because of the types of tables provided. It's more of a lounge place but makes it difficult to eat the food that way. Other than that? This is one of the most romantic places I have ever been. The staff? Crazily kind and hospitable and great in service. Very knowledgeable with any questions regarding their menu in drinks or food. They can do certain accommodations as well wt the menu. My favorite was the Thai Ceviche. I could eat like 8 dishes of that. And the drinks? Never seen anything more creative, delicious or beautiful. The drink Salitre was the most beautifully served imo but all of them are perfectly served.

Cool place with excellent service! Food was great! Loved the cup of stir fried garbanzos! Their drinks were exotic and tasty with wild presentations! Would definitely recommend. Although we ate outside, I would return because their interiors look trendy

Los 3 Cuernos, also known as The Three Horns, is a popular local bar in Old San Juan with a unique and vibrant atmosphere. The walls are adorned with thousands of artistic dollar bills and traditional vejigante masks, creating an eclectic and lively setting. This one-roomed jukebox dive bar is famous for its exotically flavored chichaitos, such as Nutella or guava shots made with Anisette liqueur and rum.
This bar was pretty cool, the bartenders were nice and personable. I got the most basic of basic : vodka soda and a medalla, can't go wrong. Atmosphere is cool, they have a bucket of things to decorate dollar bills with and add them to the wall, we put a T-Shirt shaped dollar up. It's worth the stop :)

Awesome Old San Juan alley bar! I have been to the SJ area a half a dozen times (usually for the day on a cruise, but also for a long weekend), and I always end up here at some point. Just off of Plaza Colón (which is long overdue for a post-colonial rebrand/update; I vote for Pedro Albizu Campos or Roberto Clemente), so it is just a short walk from the cruise terminal. Great mix of locals and tourists (and cruise crew members) and cheap Puerto Rican cervezas and drink/shot specials! The long narrow bar is wallpapered with dollar bills and decorated with Puerto Rican art. Pick up some street food from Plaza Colón (or a mofungo from Yeyos a few doors down) and stop in for a cold Medalla (or 3 or 5).

I absolutely LOVED this bar! It was soooo beautiful; not to mention, Miguel was the best bartender I’ve ever met!! He took great care of my bf and I for my 21st birthday this week! There are various shot flavors that will knock your socks off! Will be returning soon :)

One the best bars in Old San Juan. They used to be at a different spot but this one’s even better. Chichaito de parcha! A must!

I went here on March 19th 2023 (2:00 AM). My 5 friends decided to go here since it was late. I really wanted to like it, but sadly I had the worst drink in my life here. A lot of stuff was out of stock that night so we all decided on the passion fruit paprika drink. Not a single one of us enjoyed the drink. It was *inedible*. It had no passion fruit flavor. 0 sweetness. I also specifically asked for no paprika in mine. They didn’t listen. I took one sip and ALL I tasted was bad smoke from the paprika flavor that was overdone. My friend described it as lead. All 6 of us ended up throwing away that drink full. It was a waste of money and time. I’m hesitant to give it a second chance 😞…

Bar Catedral Rooftop in Old San Juan offers a perfect escape from the bustling streets, providing an ideal spot to unwind and enjoy breathtaking views of the city skyline and the Atlantic Ocean. The rooftop bar boasts superb cocktails, delectable tapas, and a welcoming staff. It's an excellent choice for those seeking a relaxing atmosphere and top-notch service.
While visiting San Juan we found that at a lot of places the service was really slow and sometimes rude- but here the staff was so kind and attentive. The drinks were so good! We intended to just go for one before dinner but ended up staying for another. The watermelon gimlet and espresso martini were 10/10

This rooftop bar offered a beautiful view—nothing over-the-top, but still a lovely and relaxing atmosphere. The drinks were well-crafted, and the appetizers we tried were absolutely delicious. I wish I could remember the names of the drinks and the appetizer, but hopefully the photos speak for themselves. Definitely worth a visit if you're looking for a nice spot to unwind with good food and drinks.

Tapas on the roof. Excellent/sweet service. Light food with fantastic taste. Great drinks. Get there near sunset. Magical.
Eric V — Google review
We got there exactly at 4pm. Food was great, servers were great. The (what I believe was the-) manager definitely *not* great. From the start she had an attitude. At the end of the dinner we kindly asked the server for the bill to be split by items and she came to the table, aggressively took the machine from the server’s hands, asked me what it was I wanted (with attitude) as if it were a problem, and I (a person that has been a server and I know how the machine works) know it’s not a problem to split a bill, even though it looked like it was to her. It’s a shame, because everything else was good, the servers did an amazing job and pleased our requests.

The Cannon Club - Restaurant & Piano Bar, located within the Gallery Inn Hotel in Old San Juan, is a hidden gem that has left visitors in awe. The bar features a tiny front room with a piano area to the side and an enchanting outdoor garden adorned with plants, small streams, and hand-carved stone statues. This stylish and sophisticated haven for music enthusiasts offers regular live performances by talented musicians on Steinway pianos under elegant Venetian chandeliers.
We chose this place to celebrate our 1st wedding anniversary. We made a reservation one day in advance, but couldn’t find a table for 7 or 8 PM — we barely got one for 6 PM. So if you're planning to visit, I highly recommend making a reservation at least a week ahead. The food was high quality and delicious. The atmosphere was a perfect 10/10, and the live music made the experience even more special. If you're looking for something unique, I strongly recommend this place — it was a wonderful experience for us. However, the prices were on the expensive side. I expected them to be a bit lower than Miami prices, but they weren’t. Keep that in mind before you go. Still, overall, it’s a place I would recommend.
Tuğçe K — Google review
We had a Sunday night reservation at 8:30 PM, but unfortunately the table wasn’t ready and we had to wait an additional 30 minutes to be seated. The space itself is undeniably beautiful — dimly lit, elegant, and centered around a live grand piano performance that added a calm, sophisticated touch to the evening. Note: there’s a $10 cover charge after a certain time, which is good to know upfront. 🍽️ Food & Drinks Our food came out quickly once we finally ordered. The steak was decent — nothing special, but well-cooked. I had been really looking forward to trying the paella, but was disappointed to hear they were out of it for the night. It definitely left a gap in the experience since it was one of their highlight dishes. 👨‍🍳 Service & Hospitality Service was the biggest miss. Our assigned server was largely absent, and we often had to flag down other staff just to move the evening along — from ordering to refills to the check. For a place that carries such a refined and intimate atmosphere, the lack of attentiveness was noticeable and frustrating. 💡 Unique Selling Point The live piano and ambiance are truly standout — this is the kind of place you’d come to unwind and enjoy music in a classy setting.

The Canon Club in Old San Juan is one of our favorite intimate experiences we had in Puerto Rico. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was inviting and full of energy. The highlight was definitely the piano room with live music, beautiful performances, and a cozy, intimate setting that made the night feel really special. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to stay for hours just soaking it all in. Our waiter was our favorite!!! She was so friendly, attentive, and really made us feel welcome. It’s rare to have service that stands out this much, but she really went above and beyond to make sure our group had a wonderful time. The food and drinks were good as well. Everything was flavorful, fresh, and paired perfectly with the lively setting. We all got a variety of different things, and the flan at the end was sooooo yummy. A quick tip for anyone planning to visit: make a reservation for the piano room ahead of time. It fills up quickly depending on the day, and there’s a $10 per person charge for dining there, but it’s absolutely worth it.

Awesome experience. Reserved a spot on a Saturday night in the piano area an was able to watch and listen to the live music being performed while enjoying my fantastic dinner with my gf. The place is beautiful, vintage, rustic and overall just An amazing sight to see with great drinks and food. Would reccomend this place every time!

YEP there’s a cool trio playing live music on a Saturday night 🎹🎼 but very tough to get seats in the small room unless u have reservations. So we sat at the bar and enjoyed the cool vibe/atmosphere. Outstanding Service & Amazing Food at The Cannon Club in Old San Juan I had an incredible dinner at The Cannon Club in the heart of historical Old San Juan. I ordered the lobster ravioli and toasted coconut shrimp and both were absolutely delicious! As a coffee lover, I also tried their coffee with coconut milk and I loved it. ☕️🥥 What truly made the experience unforgettable was our waitress, Yesenia. Her service was top-notch, friendly, and full of positive energy. My friends and I adored her attention to detail and warm personality. If you go, make sure to ask for Yesenia, she truly makes the difference and turns a great meal into an exceptional experience. Highly recommend! 🌟

The service and the environment was wonderful! The rooftop terrace had a chill ocean breeze and you could still listen to the live music playing downstairs through their speakers. Chocobar Cortés is a cocoa-focused cafe located in Old San Juan, offering a unique dining experience with chocolate-infused dishes for breakfast and brunch. The establishment is an extension of the fourth-generation chocolate-making operation, Chocolate Cortes, which has been producing locally and sustainably grown cacao varieties since 1929. The menu at Chocobar Cortés features a variety of sweet and savory dishes that incorporate chocolate into every bite.
This charming little spot in Old San Juan was absolutely adorable! The wall decor was fantastic, adding so much character to the place. The food was delicious, and the coffee was rich with chocolate notes—so flavorful. The espresso martini was one of the best I’ve ever had—smooth, well-balanced, and memorable. The service was warm and attentive, making the whole experience even better. You must stop by if you’re visiting Old San Juan!

This place was so cool! We sat at the bar and ordered the coconut frozen hot chocolate and the regular dark cocoa with cheddar cheese cube (on the side). Also got the little truffles in the case - these were delicious!! Unique experience while walking around Old San Juan. There is a door to the art gallery upstairs by the entrance, this was nice to check out afterwards. 10 out of 10!!

This place offers a great variety of food, and the service is excellent. Be sure to try the chocolate grilled cheese and the chocolate burger; they are both creative and fun dishes. The mocha coffee is superb, and brunch here is the best. The ambiance is pleasant, and the overall service was satisfactory.

This was such a unique experience. Who would have thought of a restaurant where everything is served with chocolate…even the burgers…of course the chocolate can be put on the side…. like the spicy chocolate that was served with the plantains. The restaurant was clean, and the food was delicious. However, the service needs help. Our server was Jonathan, and he was less than good. I cannot even say average as we waited a very long time for most of our drinks and food and the restaurant was not even full or busy…so this was a bit concerning. Now if he was new, I pray his service improves with time. Please check out pictures of food we had. The quesito was so delicious. Thanks.
Patti A — Google review
We were intrigued by the idea of having chocolate in all menu items. It somewhat delivered. Our party had Latin smash burger, French toast, and grilled cheese with bacon. The chocolate sauce for the French toast was yum! The service was horrendous. Perhaps the server was new. He bungled the order so the grilled cheese arrived way after the other food. He also charged for the iced Americano even though we canceled it because they could not make it decaf. It was a fun restaurant with good food. I hope they work on training the servers better.

Strong and Delicious! Everyone was super polite and helpful. Multiple people helped us with our family's orders (not everyone could decide what they wanted the 1st time we ordered) they explained our options and were very patient with everyone in our group. 5 Stars For Sure!! **That is More Appreciated Than They Know!!**

Fellow travelers, when in Viejo San Juan, please visit Chocobar Cortés, the definitive Puerto Rican chocolate experience. This location is beautifully decorated with images from what seems to be past advertisement campaigns. They even have a wall covered with old metal chocolate moulds. Walk to the back of the seating area to find a display honoring the short stories that used to come packaged with the bars themselves, and a heartfelt letter from a longtime fan and consumer. During our visit, we ordered the following: - Don Ignacio (made with Barrilito 3-Star Rum) - Chocolate Old Fashioned (made with Woodford Reserve Bourbon) - Churros - Quesito Cortés Our favorite drink was the Don Ignacio, which to no surprise, acts as the flagship drink of the establishment. Both glasses were dipped in chocolate that hardened which just added to the beautiful presentation of the cocktail. The excelent service, inviting setting, and quality cocktails and products will certainly make you say: ¡Rico Chocolate Cortés!

La Casita de Rones is a historic restaurant in Old San Juan that offers delicious food and drinks. It's perfect for Instagram Photos because of its beautiful setting and the cruise ships passing by. Unfortunately, there are no offers currently available.
Such a beautiful restaurant with great scenery, especially outside overlooking the water! Our waitress was very attentive and gave great recommendations as it was our first time here. The piña colada is so creamy and delicious, 10/10 have to try and the espresso martini was really smooth too! The starters we ordered were all very solid, Fried Cheese 8.5/10 really different cheese texture but so good. Rum Glazed Chicken Wings, great flavor 9/10. Firecracker Pork Dumplings had an incredible sauce 9/10! For entree's we got the Chicken Stuffed Mamposteao and Skirt Steak and wow the portions were so big! Both were very solid, overall I'd highly recommend checking out this place!

My boyfriend and I were excited to try this restaurant after seeing the reviews but we were disappointed. The food was good but nothing to rave about. Our waiter was so sweet and always checked up on us. Unfortunately, what ruined it for us was the managers attitude towards us when he saw 4-5 pigeons attack our table and eat our food within seconds of it being placed in front of us. We were told "next time just shoo them away they are just hungry" and he acted like it was an inconvenience to remake our food. Won't be back
Raven H — Google review
While we didn’t wait to be seated we did sit for a good 10-15 minutes before we had to personally stop a server to ask for drinks and menus. Once we did that service was quick and our server was great. Everyone in my party got different dishes and I wasn’t overly impressed with mine (the rum chicken with fried plantains) but the skirt steak my friend got was delicious. The rice and beans were also delicious. The atmosphere was very cute and the water views were nice but the sun was a bit blinding on the back patio even being under the flower ceiling they have. No fault of theirs just something to be mindful of depending on the time of day you visit.

Definitely go for the Ambience and service, the look and feel were great, cocktails for sure…. NOW IF YOUR HUNGRY go somewhere else, the food was poor my daughter and I had two plates of the Chicharron de pollo (fried chicken chunks) and it the chicken was fried maybe a day or two days before it was dry and bland. Wife had the Carne the Cerdo frita (fried pork chunks) with Rice and beans, the side was miles ahead of the protein again not fresh and over cooked, dry and bland. Only saving grace was my son who had the Rum glazed wings those looked and tasted fresh, plumpy and the glaze was great….

This was our first time visiting La Casita de Rones in Old San Juan and it was a good experience. The back patio is great as it overlooks the ocean and overall has a nice vibe. The food was good, pictured is the Fish Tacos and the chicken breast dinner. The drinks were also good, but had to be put in plastic cups due to a water shortage issue. Overall a good experience and we would visit again.

Had a rum old fashioned and the skirt steak tacos, for an appetizer we had Firecracker dumplings. The food was delicious, tons of flavor. How we described it amongst our group, the food was cooked with pride and soul, the chicken was juicy and crispy, the steak was tender and full of flavor. The rice with our friend’s dishes was seasoned and full of flavor, was worth the wait for our food.

Stopped by this bar at La Casita (pink) in Old San Juan with the intention of enjoying a nice cocktail before taking the ferry to Cataño for dinner. My husband and I felt that we were being totally ignored and not welcome by the woman bartending. She placed two glasses of cold waters in front of us without saying a word. We ask for two mojitos and she insisted that we download the menu before serving us drinks. She then went on chatting, more like flirting away with a customer that looked like he’d had enough! The prices are ridiculously high and I’m sure that she’s not a talented mixologist, so thank you lady for ignoring us, because we saved our money and went to a much better place…Nono’s Bar 🙌🏽🍹🥰

This is going to be a long review because we got scammed here on New Year’s Eve and want to share our story. For New Year’s Eve, we made a reservation at this restaurant. Our expectations were simple – some nice tapas, a glass of champagne… a pleasant last evening of 2024. When we arrived at 8:30 PM, we were told that the kitchen had already closed and they were offering a New Year’s dinner with three courses, fireworks, good music, and champagne for $180 for two people. Unfortunately, we accepted the deal because we figured there was nowhere else to go. The food and reviews looked good online, so we thought it would be worth the money. We couldn’t have been more wrong. After being seated, we weren’t served anything for over an hour. Around 10 PM, we were finally asked if we wanted the champagne – which came in two plastic cups and was indeed not champagne but cheap sparkling wine. The water we ordered came in bottles without glasses. The first course, served on paper plates, was an untoasted toast sandwich with some pesto. The second course consisted of toothpicks with cheese and tomato. Then, they brought us a plate with a bit of rice, some noodle salad, dry chicken, and something that smelled like fish – though we couldn’t tell what it was. Overall, the food was cold, terrible, and the portions were as small as the appetizers. By that point, many people had already left, and we decided to leave as well. We were prepared to pay for the wine and maybe a small portion of the food, but not $90 per person. That was insane! When we were ready to pay, the price had suddenly increased to $250! After a lot of arguing, we paid less, but still far too much for this disaster of an evening. The only good thing that night was the DJ – a nice and cool guy with a great set. Even he seemed to have problems with the host. We overheard her demanding that he play Christmas music… we hope he got paid for the gig in the end, but we doubt it.

Best Moscow Mule I've ever had and the Black Market drink was a good potency. The Puerto Rican Frituas were smaller than you'd expect and the fish tacos were okay. The atmosphere and rooftop terrace is the draw.

We went here to experience a rooftop in Old San Juan as there only seem to be a few options. The rooftop itself was quite nice, not much of a view but a decent place to spend the evening with a drink. The food itself was okay but nothing special and rather pricey in comparison to other restaurants, same would go for the drinks. In terms of service, I would an agree with some other reviewers, we did not feel welcome at all and I wasn’t too happy with the way my Piña Colada was mixed. We had a decent time but would not return.
D M — Google review
Great location if you just want to grab a drink and move on. Food took too long and was low quality.
Jacob S — Google review
Have you ever been to a restaurant and the server made it feel like you were an inconvenience as soon as you walked in the door? I got that vibe here. I was with a group of 8 recently for food and drinks and the service was extremely slow, and we were the only ones there. I went to check on why it was taking so long for our first round of drinks to show up and saw the server/bartender eating instead of making the drinks. I ordered a plain margarita for $14, but it was so tiny, it was gone in two sips. You can see how small the glass was in the picture below compared to a normal sized hand. The food was lackluster and definitely nothing special. A tiny order of fries was $12. Definitely way overpriced for lackluster food/drinks/service. The only upside is the rooftop patio that was pretty nice.
EH H — Google review
The atmosphere, service, food and cocktails were all fantastic. Our waiter was accommodating and found us better seating as the option opened up. The roof top is great of course, but I like the rustic feel inside too. Definitely a spot Tobit if you’re in this area.

Ocean Lab is a staple brewery in Puerto Rico. They have a few locations but the beach front spot is their primary and epic location. I have been to hundreds of breweries, none with a location like this. It is part beach club and part brewery/restaurant. They have 20 of their beers on tap including: 2 wheats, NEIPA, a blueberry, an orange, 2 pale ale, red ale, pilsner, lager , 2 stouts, mexican lager, sour, 2 blondes, helles, passion fruit, IPA, and a Imperial IPA. Heir beer is very good. This Ocean location is insane. Gorgeous views, DJ, swim up bar, etc. They have a full bar and restaurant if needed. Public is free to the upstairs bar. The service upstairs was great, they are clearly battle tested. I will definitely stop here again.

Amazing experience! Andrea was a wonderful server with great recommendations. She made the night so special! The food was amazing. The salmon over crispy rice was phenomenal. The steak skewers and potatoes wow. The drinks were amazing. The views were stunning. Great night!

Food portions weren’t big but the food was delicious. The ambiance and service is some of the best I’ve had in Puerto Rico! If you love a nice view while eating and unwinding, this is definitely worth a visit!

It was our first time here last night and we absolutely loved it. Our waiter was very attentive to us and after we had finished our dinner, we stayed as we were chatting and he would still approach us and ask if we would like anything else. I love that as we didn’t feel rushed to leave. The food was absolutely delicious and very light. I definitely recommend this place and make the reservation.

This rooftop restaurant (with a lovely view of Isla Verde) is in a Carolina hotel. We were not staying there, but found it via a Google search. We had a dinner reservation, and were seated immediately. We both enjoyed our experience very much. My husband swears this is the best octopus he's ever had (and he orders it any time its on the menu). He also enjoyed the miso soup and anticucho plate, as well as the uruchimai rice. I loved the burrata with toasted bread, and the sudao (stew). They made a couple of nice Woodford old fashioneds for my husband, and I had a delicious mulata (definitely try this). For dessert, I had a pleasant matcha chocolate cake. I will definitely visit Kumo if I stay in Carolina next time we are in Puerto Rico.

Wonderful rooftop bar and restaurant with live music and spectacular views of Isla Verde. Food was terrific and reasonably priced. The fingerling potatoes and sliders were fantastic. Views of the beach as well as of the planes coming in for landing at the nearby Luis Munoz Marin Airport.

10/10 Kumo was so pretty and gave all the vibes. If you’re looking for something romantic or very scenic for a birthday dinner this is the place. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The food was great. The area was a little questionable but the ambiance once in the restaurant I forgot all about it.

First class and 5 star experience! The atmosphere is second to none! Elegant wood accents throughout the lounge. Old world feel with plenty of seating to include comfortable leather chairs. Magnificent bar with all of the top shelf spirits. This is a must visit lounge if you’re a cigar aficionado in Puerto Rico!

Found this place by a Google search of highly rated bars. It is an upscale cigar bar with an elevated cocktail menu. It was the middle of the afternoon, so it was kind of empty when I went, but they apparently have live jazz on Thursday nights. I would have enjoyed that. The drinks were delicious and well made. Nothing here is cheap, but this was a worthwhile indulgence for those who want to escape the casual masses. Be prepared to pay a minimum charge per person for drinks and cigars.

Comfortable and classy is the best way to describe this establishment. The bartender was welcoming and gave great recommendations kudos to him. The drinks were made to perfection and the ambiance was just right. If you’re in the area and like a great drink, check it out!

This bar is very nice. The service was on point and so were the cocktails. It is a cigar bar so as long as you can handle the smell of cigars I would recommend. My husband loves to smoke cigars so he drank some whisky and smoked a cigar while i sipped an espresso martini. Also the a/c is nice and cold!

Cosme T — Google review
I went to the bar a couple nights back for the first. The ambiance of the restaurant was good, the music and decorations went with the Mexican/Argentinian theme. The bar was sat with two girls, what seemed like a regular patron of the restaurant/bar and myself (4 people total). Both bartenders that night (Paola and Caleb I believe) ignored me for around 10 minutes, until Paola came over and asked what I wanted to drink. I told her it was my first time at the restaurant and she briefly introduced herself and pointed to her coworker, and told me about the restaurant’s concept. I told her that I needed some time to think and was ignored for another 5-10 minutes. I finally ordered my spicy strawberry margarita, which was awesome! As a former bartender, I recognize that the liquor selection and the mixers used were thoughtfully selected and made. I then ordered two tacos to start, and I was not offered water or even given napkins for the tacos. My first round of food came probably 15 min later. I was still not offered water or a xtra napkins. I tried to ask Caleb for these, but since I wasn’t speaking English, I suppose he “didn’t understand” lol 🤦🏽‍♀️. Paola gave me the items once requested. I then ordered a second round of tacos and was given one extra napkin by the food runner. Paola kind of tried to rectify the service, but by that point it was too late. I ordered my dessert, and once I was all finished, I had to wait another 15 minutes to get checked out. While the food was great (I had octopus, barbacoa, pork belly, and carnitas tacos, as well as a guava, cheese and jalapeño special dessert), the bar service left a lot to be desired. I have worked as a bartender and a server before, and understand the pressures and expectations of the job - if you wanna make money that is. The restaurant WAS NOT packed for the poor service that I received. I was hoping to scope out this restaurant for my birthday dinner in a couple weeks for my family and I, but sadly I will be choosing another establishment, where the steps of service are followed and I’m not made to feel like I’m ignored by the people providing me service. I feel like the bartenders assumed I wasn’t going to tip them enough, therefore they kind of just brushed me off. I’m usually a 30% tipper if the service was outstanding - especially at the bar bc I know what it’s like. The service I recieved was not worthy of my usual tip. If you “look like you’re from San Juan”, it’s best to steer clear of here. Callejeros is a better bet 🤷🏽‍♀️🙊
Amayah V — Google review
The service is phenomenal. The personnel is attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. The Birria de Cordero portion is excessively large. You can easily share between two adults. Although the flavor was missing, the plate presentation and additional sauce balanced everything. The empanadas are incredible and well seasoned. Overall, it was a great place and food.
Noel G — Google review
We ordered from their on line menu for pick up. When they called to confirm the order, the prices were inflated 50%. I asked why, said they knew the menu online had inaccurate prices. I asked to take some items out of order. When my husband showed up to pick up order they said they honored the posted prices and asked him to take the entire order. He did. But when he arrived we looked at receipt, they had charged the inflated prices anyway. Very deceiving and unprofessional. Fix your online menus and stop tricking people!

Great quality drinks! With an effective valet parking and friendly staff. This place is recently open and a lot of people are going to find what’s new. Fridays at 6pm there will be an hour waiting list to dine in. About the food, there is room for improvement. For the price could be better food.
Valek — Google review
Good ambiance. The margaritas were a bit underwhelming, barely tasted the alcohol and felt like just juice. The tacos were really good, but I think they're way overpriced. The octopus taco was amazing, but $8?!!! Thats way too much for a portion that is on the smaller side. The pork belly was good and tasty but nothing out of the ordinary. It was $5, similar to other traditional tacos. I've gone to local/traditional taco restaurants that charge $2.50-3 for tacos that are bigger portions and taste as good even better than this ones. Unless they drop the taco prices to a fair amount, I doubt I'll come back despite the food being good.

One of the best culinary experiences of my life. Chef Ciarán is a magician and every person that works there is just incredible! We made a reservation for the Playlist Chef’s Table experience and WOW—-it was amazing. We were seated at the bar and right from the first moment we felt like we were a part of the back of the house team! The food was amazing—watching the chefs prepare the food with such love and care was a sight to see! We also got the wine pairings with each course. All were amazing and the wine service was great, too. Highly recommend this dining experience!
Kelly B — Google review
Pio Pio is a very cute coursed hole in the wall restaurant in the middle of Old San Juan. The chef is a cute Irish gentleman with a terrific Puerto Rican inspired menu. Highly recommend the Con Coco cocktail, which is basically an old fashion with coconut flavoring. The meal started with a cream tart, lobster roll, and a crudo. I especially liked the creaminess of the lobster roll. Following that was a swordfish tortellini — I’ve not had a fish tortellini before and I was pleasantly surprised at the texture and flavor! Easily my favorite with at the restaurant. It was magical to see the staff make the tortellinis in front of us. We liked the lamb and dessert as well. But the real star after the tortellini was the Irish coffee with an ice cream sandwich. Beautifully sweet but not overpoweringly so. Great vibe and a family feeling amongst the staff, they definitely are passionate about what they do! Do note that the meal will get into the $300s for two, so if that’s not your cup of tea then be warned.

This is one of the top 5 meals of my life! Such an intimate setting, you get to talk to the chef’s and watch them create the amazing cuisines. I would highly recommend the tasting menu. On top of the food, had the best champagne and white wine I have ever had. As not a huge wine person I would have finished both bottles if I want so full from all the amazing food.
Thomas Y — Google review
I ordered the tasting menu expecting individual servings, but what we received were shared plates for two people something that was never explained to us when ordering. While that lack of communication threw us off, I have to say the food itself was amazing. The pasta was absolutely delicious, and the lamb was incredibly tasty. Despite the confusion, I’m happy to give them a second try.

Pio Pio completely turned our night around after a disappointing experience at a restaurant nearby! The food was absolutely top notch. There were multiple times when we stopped to note that we had never tasted anything like the dishes we had at Pio Pio. The drinks were excellent too. The cocktail list was very unique and creative. Lots of interesting clarified cocktails. The drinks themselves were so good we ended up getting multiple rounds. We could tell that the owners and staff cared a lot about what they were doing, and this shined through our every experience there. Pio Pio made me want to move to San Juan permanently. 10/10, A+, 🔥
Joey G — Google review
Walked in and got a table for two without a reservation. Ordered the Con Coco which was strong but delicious. Also ordered the lobsters rolls, eggplant which was surprisingly yummy and the pasta with meatballs. Staff was super friendly. Was a bit on the pricey side but worth it!
Will C — Google review
This was a really fun tasting experience - creative big swings that all landed with us. The wine paring was pretty good too, call it an A-. We're glad we did it even if it wasn't life changing. And I hope everyone gets to try the "Puerto Rican Moonshine" (Pitorro?) at the end - definitely a special finish! My only very minor critique is that they do the check via POS terminal brought to your table while they wait. Maybe I'm just old-fashioned, but it just feels a little fast casual for an otherwise higher end dining experience.

Whether reclining on plush leather sofas or sinking into red velvet chairs, patrons can savor their drinks in a rich historical ambiance.

My partner and I returned to El Condado, Vanderbilt Hotel in San Juan, PR and once again, we are not disappointed. I want to start by commending Christian who works at the VC Lounge, he is the main reason we return to the lounge. He makes us feel like VIP and ensures we are happy with the food, beverages and service. This to me comes a long way. I don’t like trying new places, tend to return to places where the service, food and atmosphere are tops! This is what Christian brings to the table. Also, want to say thank you to Juancarlo Vazquez, as he ensured our accommodations were in order. Thank you, thank you, thank you to Christian and Juancarlo!
Lu L — Google review
VC Lounge at the Condado Vanderbilt is an elegant hideaway right by the ocean—perfect for unwinding with a drink and incredible sunset views. From the moment you walk in you’re treated with respect. They kick things off by bringing you water without you even asking or paying extra. The back terrace facing the Atlantic is stunning. Watching the sun dip behind the ocean while you sip is worth the visit alone. They do complimentary bar snacks—nuts, olives, and cumin kettle corn—and they are surprisingly good. Not basic, but thoughtfully curated to match the vibe. I ordered an Old Fashioned and my partner had an Aperol Spritz. Yeah the drinks run around $20 apiece, but trust me, the service, the view, and the quality make it worth every cent. When I asked for two Luxardo cherries in my Old Fashioned, they went above and delivered with four. Didn’t need four, but that’s how you earn loyalty. Standard pricing before tax and tip puts two cocktails just over $50. It’s definitely not an every-night kind of place. But for a date night or a treat-yourself moment, it’s unbeatable. VC Lounge is beautiful, the service is spot-on, the cocktails are solid, and the atmosphere is serene. Just be prepared to spend a little. I’ll happily go back.

I had a fantastic meal at Atelier rooftop terrace. This is a fairly small café on the roof of a hotel. Expect a short menu with a small number of options and a single waitress serving the whole area. Despite the small setting, menu, and staff, the food and drinks were tasty and well prepared. We enjoyed a nice charcuterie board with prosciutto, salami, cheese, and toast that tickled the taste buds and prepared us for a nice meal. Our chicken dish was moist and crispy with a sensible amount of potatoes and roast vegetables. The ahi tuna was fresh and tasty, served raw with nice onions and herbs. The portion size was a bit small, but sensible and clearly good quality. Our time at Atelier flew by since we were occupied by the amazing food of the seaside, cityscape, and cathedral next door. Atelier also happens to have a small pool and a hot tub, so if you are a guest of the hotel or bring a swim suit, don’t hesitate to soak in the tub while enjoy drinks and a nice meal. Perfect for a date night or a hot summer day!

Alambique Beach Lounge is a beachfront restaurant located in Carolina, Puerto Rico. With over 25 years of history, it offers a diverse menu featuring seafood dishes and sandwiches. The establishment prides itself on serving elevated dishes such as salmon with coconut cream and asparagus, along with spice-marinated steaks paired with tostones. Visitors can enjoy the no-nonsense bar and grill atmosphere while taking in beach views from the deck.
Came here based on reviews and it did not disappoint! We enjoyed our first meal here so much that we came back a second time during our trip. Adjacent to the beach with convenient access (walking distance) from the new Residence Inn Marriott down the street. Every dish we had here was excellent. I don't think you can really go wrong with anything on the menu. Only complaint isn't even really a complaint - their portion sizes are pretty big so we ended up with a lot of leftovers and probably would have shared some dishes had we known. The sweet chili salmon was *almost* perfectly cooked (maybe just a smidge over) but the coconut rice that came with it was amazing. This dish was a normal portion size but the cheeseburger, seafood pasta and chicken panini were all very generously sized. If you like seafood, I would definitely recommend the mussels or seafood pasta. Service was prompt, drinks were good (and reasonably priced), would definitely recommend.

Great food and service, very friendly and helpful staff - a view of the beach:) We are foodies who enjoy finding great local places when traveling. We enjoyed breakfast here 3 days in a row - it was so good and the location on the beach was perfect for us. We tried a few different things and all meals were delicious ! The Rad Tacos were so good and the Breakfast Burrito with skirt steak and breakfast potatoes on the side was outstanding (the French toast too)!! My husband loved the chorizo hash potatoes:) We also tried the smoked salmon Benny and the spicy Bloody Mary— yum! Our first time visiting PR and already looking forward to coming back and visiting this crew again!

This restaurant is right off the beach and very casual. The prices are unbelievably low for the area and the quality of food is beyond expectations. I was so very impressed with our server Danny. He was great at explaining the menu and drinks. He wasn't shy on keeping the drinking comming. Lots of food for the $$$. Come early to insure a seat.

they were out of most of the food items when we went. Emphasis on “most”. Despite that, our food was really good! The salmon and coconut rice was my favorite out of everything ordered. The calamari was the perfect consistency—it was amazing! & the sauce that comes with it was really good too. The pasta was okay to me, other people really liked it but it was pasta to me. The fried pita bread on the side of the pasta was something they really liked too—it was just bread to me lol. I really liked the hamburger—it was suppose to be medium well but it was giving well done. They have two natural juices, but only the passion fruit was available. My boyfriend really liked it, we ended up ordering like 5 of them. The service was really greattt— shoutout to Alexandria. Please note parking is limited. We got a ticket for parking in front of the restaurant—so don’t be like us. If they had sufficient parking and a full menu, it would’ve been 5 stars easily.

Literal best first stop on vacation. Completely open front to get the best view of the ocean and let the breeze sweep through. They aid in the breeze with ceiling fans so it feels very comfortable. Food was affordable and delicious. Server was kind, fast, and told us the table was ours as long as we wanted it, that we didn’t have to leave even though there was a big line. Cocktails are well balanced and tasty and when all paid up, walked across the street to hop in the ocean. Perfect is an understatement. I had the smoked salmon bagel sandwich, a blue Hawaiian, a purple voodoo, and a nice espresso. My partner had eggs and sausage, a beach Bellini, and a Fresca passion with a kick. All that and the bill was only $70. Highly recommend coming here when you visit.

Saw good reviews so decided to try their brunch. They do not take reservations and brunch ends at 12pm (at least the day we went). The wait was about 30 minutes but the beach is literally across the street and you can grab a drink from the bar while you wait for them to call yourphone to let you know the table is ready. The menu was limited due to food spoilage from the island wide power outage a few days prior. Luckily the items we wanted were not affected. The tall thin waitress with blond hair was great and the food didn't take long. My only issue was the 8oz of steak advertised on the big kahuna certainly did not look like 8 oz, it was a very thin cut. Overall the flavor was great though. The drinks were good. I would've preferred to taste more of the flavor of the guava and hibiscus mimosa but I'm sure most others don't mind it. Definitely worth the try, good pricing and left full.

Fastest service we got in all of Puerto Rico! Our server, Nicole, was super quick and attentive. The food was good, and the portions were big, with everything reasonably priced for how touristy the area is. We came a little before closing, and the energy of the space was fun and lively, with the bar staff singing and dancing for a good part for the night. The seating area has a direct view of the beach, and while it was late and dark and we couldn’t see much, it was pleasant to hear the ocean rumbling in the background. We didn’t have to wait to be seated, and while there were plenty of people dining, there was still a good number of empty tables. Recommend!

Went there every night and lunch for a week. Food is so amazing! Drinks are perfectly served. Waiters amazing. Props to one waiter I wish we had all the time we were there. He's tall maybe dreads. Super friendly and quick. We ordered several different dishes and they were all soo good and yummy! Mofongo Shrimp al ajillo. Sweet and Spicy Calamari. Chicken Naxhos. Fish Bites. Burgers. Fish dishes. Tuna wrap. Ceviche. Quesadilla.

Gabriel was amazing!!! The best server ever! Made us feel insane welcome and warm! Made us coffee in the end, highly recommend the experience with him. Host (Lesly) was very rude, told us to look to another place to have a dinner and she couldn’t sit us because the place was full, but it wasn’t but I insisted and asked another server to talk to the manager and he did a good job sitting us, he was very nice! Again! Lovely Gabriel bartender made my birthday special! Thank you!!

The rooftop bar offers a stunning atmosphere with a vibrant yet relaxed ambiance, perfect for enjoying San Juan from above. The staff was exceptionally welcoming, with special recognition to Luis, the bartender, for his attentive and personable service. I ordered one of their specialty cocktails, which was expertly crafted and generous with the tequila. The Chicken Fricassee Croquettes were a standout—beautifully presented and full of flavor. This unique and stylish venue is a must-visit for anyone spending time in San Juan.

The view was so amazing on our 1st night in Puerto Rico that we came back on our last night. We didnt have a reservation but was able to get a table in the time it took to take the elevator to the roof. As soon as we got off the elevator we were welcomed by staff and sat at a table. The food was amazing both nights and we will definitely be coming back in future trips

I went to this location for my birthday the other day while vacationing in PR. Very intimate, very relaxed and beautiful views. Yes I would definitely return

The drinks at Tequila Cantina are delicious and the bartender is super sweet. We came here after trying to go to La Casita Blanca . It was a 2 hour wait there . Need a place to go to after the 2 mile trek around the fort wall. Googled best Mojitos and found this small, quaint bar a few blocks from El Morro. The Mojito may have been the best I ever had. My wife had a Mango drink that was to die for. They also had great shot specials. Decorated in all things Marilyn Monroe.

Stopped for a quick bite while visiting Old San Juan. Nice small dive bar with outside seating. Ordered two appetizers veggie nachos and mofongo boats with smoked meat. The nachos arrived after a 20 minute wait. The veggie nachos were good. Ten minutes after the nachos arrived a male employee stated the mofongo dish called for three mofongo boats but they only had 2 could he substitute tostones as a replacement. I agreed. Approximately 20 minutes later the mofongo dish was dropped off. The male server dropped off one set of plastic utensils and no napkins. The two mofongo boats were completely over fried, hard, and un-edible. The smoked meat was tasty and the tostones were just okay. After taking our order the female server only returned when we were finished and we requested the check. We stopped here based on the reviews but the service deserved a zero.

Been coming here for many years. Basically a nicely decorated hole in the wall with excellent drinks and comfort food. Dedicated to Marylin, with all sorts of memorabilia decorating the bar. Outdoor tables too. Drinks are made fresh, which is becoming a rare occurrence. Large TV plays concerts and videos, volume in low. Cannot park: you must walk here. It is well worth it. Everything was outstanding from the meal to the service. I had the chicken as my main course and the tres leches for dessert. This may be the best chicken I've ever had in my life. If you are like me, after eating the traditional local PR food for a week non-stop, and want to have something more "familiar" and take a break from the amazing skirt steaks and fried plantains, then this is your place to go. All dishes we've had here are fantastic. The risotto was rich, savory and creamy, the fish is tender yet the skin is crispy. The passion fruit cake was not too sweet nor to heavy, made just right. We had the bartender to be creative and make something for us with mint and no alcohol, and I ended up having probably the most tasty non-alcoholic drink I have ever had in my life. If I remember right, the drink has freshly squeezed lime juice, fresh ginger juice, grapefruit, mint and a kind of local beverage, I forgot the name. The ginger juice gives it a kick, tasted just like a light alcoholic drink without any alcohol in it. Don't take me wrong, I am a whiskey drinker, it's just one of those nights when I didn't feel like drinking, and this drink was just perfect. The ambient was nice, a bit dark and quiet. The bar tender let us know that there would be live music during the weekends. I wish we could make it.

Don’t come here if you love bad service in a overcrowded restaurant with the same ol’ menu. 5 stars for us. We came here at 10p on a Saturday because of 2 failed attempts at “recommended” spots with rude doormen. We decided to head back local by where we stayed, and so glad we did because from the moment we walked in we were greeted and sat with our server who was the most kind as we had our baby with us. We ordered the special which was a whole branzino and it was perfectly cooked, and seasoned well. Buttery and melted in your mouth. The tostones light, thin and crispy. Also had the pork chop which was delicious especially the rice. The twist with truffle oil was on point. Cocktails were great too! The ambience is sexy & intimate. Glad we came!

Nestled just outside the historic walls of Old San Juan, La Garita is a delightful restaurant that offers an authentic taste of Puerto Rican cuisine alongside breathtaking views. As you sip on a refreshing beer or mojito, you'll be treated to stunning vistas of the vibrant rooftops of La Perla and the expansive Atlantic Ocean. While it may require a bit of walking from the main entrance, this hidden gem is well worth the trek.
A very casual restaurant, however, he food is amazing. The mofongoo is absolutely delicious. We had the steak and the shrimp with conch. The drinks devine. The service is fine but wow the food. I just want to gorge myself. Don't get me wrong, the mojitos are good, we tried coconut and a passion fruit. Both good but we liked the coconut hands down . Worth the trek to get here! This is truly a hidden gem. The pics are after we ate. Just so filling and so good. Highly highly recommend!

This place had such an amazing view and was close to the center city. Although, be careful walking around this area. You don’t get to pick where you sit, you sit where they seat you. They give you a Spanish menu but you can scan any of the QR codes around for the English version. Prices vary, but are definitely on the higher side. We ordered drinks but got brought and charged for the wrong size. The ceviche was amazing though, and we recommend that! The red snapper was good, as well as the octopus. The meals were hearty and tasty. Just be prepared to wait an hour to eat. Great views of the ocean if you can snag it! The one thing we didn’t like was how hard the server was staring at us when we paid the bill, literally asking how much we were going to tip. Good food, bad service.

After El Morro, we stopped by La Garita for lunch. We got grouper filet, chicken mofongo, small empanadas, and kids chicken strips. The food overall was okay; not super impressive but also not bad. However, this restaurant has an amazing view, overlooking the ocean and colorful homes on a hill in San Juan. The service was good, too. It’s worth visiting for some seafood and local food, along with the beautiful view.

The main dishes are excellent. I had the steak and shrimp. We asked for the dessert menu and our server informed us they had no dessert. I feel a dessert after this meal would've pushed the ratings to 4 stars. Also she did not check on us and we got no other drink service.

Absolutely loved our meal at La Garita! Our server, Jennifer, was so kind and helpful. We had the passion fruit mojitos. Amazing! My sister in law wanted the Crab Mofongo and when they didn’t have it the chef came out personally to apologize and find out what she would like instead. She chose the chicken mofongo. He came back again to make sure she liked it. It was with garlic sauce and she loved it! Thought that was super nice of him. I had the shrimp mofongo and it was delicious. In addition the view was awesome. We had a bar top table with an amazing view! Would absolutely recommend eating here!

Amazing view of the old San Juan coastline. Food was pretty good and drinks were nicely done. Service was pretty good as well. The challenge is getting there, especially with a stroller or wheelchair. It’s located down a narrow alley with steep steps. Highly recommend going for dinner during the sunset.

Great food great views of the water just a long wait and very limited seats so be prepared to wait. Other than that once your in with a great seat and view everything else doesn't matter. The slight ocean breeze enhances your mood and the picadera platter was amazing. The shrimp and steak mofongo was perfection. Thank you La Garita.

Stopped here for a quick drink as our room wasn't ready at the Olive Boutique Hotel. We came a little early, so we killed some time across the street at their sister hotel. There was one group having a late lunch and looked to be having a good time. We came around mid afternoon, so the area wasn't crowded at all. The drinks were okay. They used a well rum for mine as I wasn't their when she ordered it for me. They got me a chair however to sit at the bar with my wife. It just wasn't the Mojito I was looking for. The inside area is limited, but the outside deck makes up for it. You get a good view of the area as you see in the video. There is an upper deck for the hotel residents which also has a pool. We didn't have a pass card, so I didn't take any photos. The Rolls Royce is real and is used as a DJ booth at night. They had to use a crane to bring that monster in. Overall, not a bad spot to hang out at.

I had this place in mind for a little while, and I finally got the chance to come in and try it. I went for a quick snack and a drink. I love the view from this place, the pool, the service, and the drink I ordered was delicious. We kept it simple and just ordered truffle fries and Buffalo wings. I’d love to come back and try their brunch menu. My drink was the Pink Lychee. If you visit, you should definitely try it. The service is very attentive.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ 3/5 Had dinner last night at Arya Rooftop in San Juan. The place is stunning — amazing view and great vibe. Our waitress Natalie was the sweetest and super attentive, honestly one of the best services I’ve had in Puerto Rico. Sadly, the food was a big letdown. The menu was small, and my ravioli with tomato sauce and broccoli was extremely salty and honestly not edible. The fried cheese was fine, and the charcuterie board came with just a few slices of prosciutto, literally 3 slices, some cheese like 4 small slices, and a couple of olives. Beautiful spot and great service, but the food quality doesn’t match the price. Too expensive for what you get, which is a shame because the place could be truly amazing otherwise
Douglas D — Google review
Cute terrace, food was good but the bacon was too cooked for my taste. Menu is very casual. I didn’t like that where many “changos” (birds) in the tables & chairs. Other than that place is good.
Adiris L — Google review
I had high expectations for this rooftop restaurant after seeing it all over social media, but the experience was honestly terrible from start to finish. We ordered a bottle of wine that was brought to the table already opened not even presented or poured for us. When I accidentally spilled my glass of wine, no one came over to help, even after we asked. They didn’t wipe the table, offer napkins, or acknowledge it at all. Our food took ages to arrive, and when it finally didn’t, we were told they “didn’t understand our order” even though I was dining with a native Spanish speaker. The waiter had an attitude the entire night, never thanked us for our visit, and seemed completely uninterested in providing any sort of service. I finally went to find the manager myself, and when she came out, she avoided all eye contact, offered no apology, and seemed more focused on brushing us off than resolving anything. To make things worse, we were told we couldn’t split entrées or share dishes, even though we had ordered multiple plates to enjoy together. The table was never cleared, the staff was inattentive, and the overall energy felt cold and dismissive. For the price and the reputation, this place should be offering a five-star experience not acting like they’re doing guests a favor by serving them. There are plenty of better rooftops in Puerto Rico where you’ll actually be treated with respect and get the service you’re paying for.

Arya Rooftop is a stunning dining destination in San Juan, offering breathtaking views of the Condado Lagoon. The design and interior are beautifully crafted, creating a chic atmosphere perfect for brunch. During my recent visit, we enjoyed a delicious burger and salmon toast, both expertly prepared and flavorful. The service was attentive, enhancing the overall experience. I look forward to returning for dinner to see how the ambiance transforms at night and to explore more items on their menu. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a memorable meal with a view!
Viktoria V — Google review
If I could leave 0 stars I would. The service was not only terrible but ridiculous. It’s like we had to play eye tag with our server for her to come and properly attend to us. The cocktails were so disappointing and disgusting, I didn’t even drink it. It was so bad to the point I couldn’t even force myself to consume it. There are limited menu options and we waited over 2 hours for our plates just for it to be also disgusting and mediocre. My friend got literally 4 pieces of ravioli & I got unseasoned chicken on top of pasta just covered with tomato paste. I left my whole plate. We were charged almost $200 for two cocktails and two dishes that weren’t even consumed. Wouldn’t recommend this to anybody. It ruined my first vacation night

P.R. does it better when it comes to hanging out and drinking on the sidewalks/streets. Beer is cheap and cold. Drinks were strong and well priced. It's mostly a locals hangout, but visitors are always welcomed. Good nightlife spot.

Nono's is a vibrant sports bar located in Old San Juan, housed in a charming buttercup-yellow colonial building. It's a popular spot with a casual and lively atmosphere, where you can catch football on TV, enjoy games of pool, and savor cold beers. The central location makes it an ideal place to unwind after a day of sightseeing. Known for its selection of drinks, Nono's offers a variety of beers and cocktails without overwhelming choices.
We stopped here for a few drinks while exploring the San Juan area. Great beers and I found a new beer for me that I found great. Bartender was very attentive. Great easygoing atmosphere.

Stopped by at Nono’s this afternoon for some refreshments. Sat at the bar and ordered papa rellena, croquetas de bacalao, Cuban sandwich with fries. Drink was Medalla and piña colada. Everything was good except the croquetas, we really didn’t like it much. Overall was good.

When we’re in Old San Juan, Nono’s Bar is our very first stop for a refreshing cocktail. We were there a week ago and enjoyed some deliciously cold and strong parcha (passion fruit) mojitos!🍹 Returned a few days later for some Pina Coladas and again they knocked it outta the park! Friendly bartenders, beautiful old school atmosphere, salsa 💃🏽 music playing and dancing bartenders, what more can you ask for in Beautiful Old San Juan? 🇵🇷 See you soon, miss you already Nono’s!

We saw this bar/restaurant returning from the Castillo San Felipe del Morro, we went inside just for one drink and we ended up having 5 drinks and some appetizers. The Mojitos are great specially the coconut with maracuya.

Drinks were good and priced decently. The cuban sandwich was pretty good. This is a local spot and not a tourist trap. However, they need to hire a friendlier bartender than the lady that was tending bar when we visited. She seemed annoyed and miserable.

Skip this place. We came to Nono’s because we had our first mojitos here several years ago and they were great. Now, the Mojitos are small, made with a mix, very little peppermint and no lime - and expensive. There are way better places within 100 meters of this place.

The bartender was a little surly at first but seemed to warm up by the time we were ready to leave. My husband was really interested in local brews and rum selection so maybe we asked too many questions. Hahaha. Prices are on the high side but the cuban sandwich was pretty good and the atmosphere is nice.

Antiguo 26 is a stylish cocktail bar with an old-fashioned feel located in an old soda factory. The atmosphere is chilled and elegant with classic decor, making it perfect for a relaxing evening out. The cocktails are inventive and tasty and the menu features some great food options. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the local bar scene as well as their own cocktails and menus, making it a great place to visit if you're visiting Old San Juan.
This place is such a great place to be. The environment has a lounge feel, the staff if grand helpful with the drinks and food. The food is so good and the drinks were delicious! The drinks: Pineapple coconut cream & Thyme for Mezcal Pineapple was sweet and delicious Mezcal was smokey and savory. So good! We drank them before I could get a proper photo Must try !

Cool cocktail bar away from the clubbing scene. The historic building used to be a soda factory. We stopped in for one drink as we waited for a dinner table elsewhere... but wished we could have tried more. The La Piquiña was especially inventive, with a smokiness and texture from the dark chocolate garnish, and waves of flavor from the fat wash and plantain bitters. We also had the Not So Mai-Tai that had a beautifully crafted amaretto foam pairing with a tart (but not overly so) pineapple.

Frankie was amazing! She greeted us immediately, told us all about the drinks and menu and recommended things based on what we told her we liked, and she was spot on. We asked her for recommendations for going out after and she helped us out with that too. She was incredible, we’ll be visiting her again. The food and drinks were great, and we loved the decor. 10/10.

A Life-Changing Drink in Old San Juan! Antiguo is more than just a bar; it's an experience. We stopped in for drinks and were immediately captivated by the atmosphere. The whole vibe of Old San Juan is incredibly stylish, and sitting in this beautiful establishment, my ex-wife wife and I had a revelation. We realized we'd gotten a little too comfortable in our casual attire. Inspired by our surroundings, we made a pact right then and there to elevate our style—and I haven't worn a t-shirt in public since! While we didn't have a chance to try the food, the drinks were amazing and expertly crafted. For its incredible ambiance, fantastic cocktails, and for providing the backdrop to a memorable life moment, Antiguo is a must-visit.

El Bar Bero is a unique and creative establishment that transforms from a barbershop by day to a lively mixologist haven by night. The themed decor includes vintage barber chairs, black-and-white checkerboard floors, and chandeliers adorned with shaving brushes. The atmosphere is described as welcoming and friendly, with bartenders who take pride in their craft.
Jose is the man! A true mixologist and master of his craft. All of the cocktails I had were incredible. Easily the best cocktail bar in the Condado area. Even when out of ingredients (which happens in PR) he was able to make me a Black Manhattan which was delicious. Other personal recommendations include Gentleman's Cut, Barrilito Smoked Old Fashioned, Tiki Man(hattan), El Barbero Viejo, and El Bigote de Luigi (extremely refreshing - even as a non-gin person). . Ask about the history of the items here, this place is a true treasure!

Love the vibe of this speakeasy, the barber shop theme is awesome, every detail was carefully planned. The got a lot of creative cocktails and every single one we tried was tasty. Very attentive staff, cocktails takes their time. Wednesday night was perfect, not crowded at all. Prices not on menu, but expect to pay $13 per cocktail. Parking on the street, credit cards accepted.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this cool vibe bar in the Conado area, and it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I walked to the front door, they invited me in, even though they weren't open yet. i I was captivated by the stylish decor and the welcoming atmosphere. The dimly lit interior, coupled with a well-curated playlist, created the perfect ambiance for a night out. The bar staff was not only attentive but also incredibly knowledgeable about their extensive cocktail menu. I tried their signature drinks, and each one was a delightful blend of flavors and presentation. What truly set this bar apart was the music. The diverse crowd made for an engaging and fun experience, and I met some interesting people throughout the evening. Overall, I can't recommend this cool vibe bar enough. Whether you're looking for a romantic date spot or a place to hang out with friends, it offers an unforgettable experience. I can't wait to go back and enjoy the cool vibes, drinks, and music all over again.

Amazing cocktails, atmosphere, and service! The actual barber chairs are a fun detail. The bartender is a true artist and there is a huge variety of cocktail options on the menu. We went on a Wednesday night and the kitchen was already closed so we didn’t get a chance to try the food, but looked like they had some good munchies as well. A must stop if you are out in San Juan!

What a hidden gem! Cyan is an incredible master of cocktails and treats guests as a family. Best cocktails we've had in a long time. This is art! Must visit in San Juan!
Dila D — Google review
We've been wanting a cozy, low key neighborhood bar with decent bar food and can't believe we only just found El Bar Bero! I loved the eclectic, vintage barbershop (bero) decor, good lighting & music- but the drink options were what really impressed. They had all the best "original" cocktails- I had the moscow mule & my husband the house manhattan- along with your traditional island drinks, and they were all expertly made. The bar is really the main attraction of the room, and for good reason- the drinks are perfect! While this isn't a restaurant (so don't expect a server/ you go to the bar to order) they do serve a few food items and again, exceeded our expectations. The fish tacos were delicious and the chicken/sausage sliders- something the door man recommended- were not only tasty but really original. The bill was like $40- which is hard to beat...! We're super excited to have this great local option so close to home!!! . (Broc did have an issue with there not being soap in the men's bathroom, but I'm still giving 5 stars (the women's did!) bc I doubt that's the norm...)

Cocktails are tasty. Cyan was amazing and very attentive. She was so polite and made our first visit to this establishment a memorable one. Gallo Negro is a popular neighbourhood bar in Puerto Rico that serves up delicious brunch classics as well as innovative cuisine and great drinks. This trendy spot is perfect for visitors looking for something fun and unique to do on their island vacation.
Where do I even start? This place was incredible. I wish that they would open one back home so I could come here all the time. It is so incredibly cute inside, feels very vintage but cozy. Our waitress, Carrie, was so so amazing. She asked about our "flavor profiles" to help us decide on what cocktails to try, and even had the bartenders make something specifically for us. Not a single drink disappointed. We got 4 items off of the menu and every single one was incredible. I don't think you can go wrong with anything here. The chef clearly knows what she's doing. I really can't review this place high enough, it was everything I want in a restaurant/bar and then some! If you are in San Juan absolutely make this a priority.

Gallo Negro is tasty, hip, and incredibly friendly. Seriously, I practically fell in love with the waiter, and later the owner came over and chatted with us for a long time, and even gave us some detailed recommendations for places to go afterwards. A real gem of a place: modern, but vibrant and alive, not like all those cookie-cutter modern hotel restaurants. Go!

The food was creative and delicious (need more vegetarian options and some choclo). The bartenders provided phenomenal service! What was supposed to be a cocktail and an appetizer, due to the limited veg options, turned into a very full evening. Hoping to get back to Puerto Rico to visit again!

When you are in a restaurant, you eventually understand that waiters are not happy with your arrival, because they already have a lot of work, and then you and the children. And this unwelcoming attitude towards you is read in each of their actions. Service can not be called good, it's disgusting. Already after we made the order, our friends joined us. The waiters did not pay attention. We had to go and on our own to take the menu on the counter. For 15 minutes, nobody came to order. We approached the bar to make an order - the waiter in a unwelcoming tone explained that she is busy - "Sit down, I'll come to you." she commanded. But she did not found the opportunity to do this, although I counted only 4-5 tables with guests for 2 waiters. In the restaurant's menu there is Margarita pizza for 6.90 or 9.90 because of different sizes. I chose a big Margarita and asked to add ham. The result in the account is 25 euros and some absolutely different pizza, not Margarita. The waiter insistently, arrogantly and even rudely explained to me that this is my problem, that I did not understood menu and could not explain to her what pizza I want. I thought then how much work of managers, cooks, investors, crossed out two absolutely incompetent, lazy and rude waitresses, Tamara and Veronica - who, of course, should not work at any restaurant at all.

El Quinqué De Douglas’ Pub is a charming little bar nestled in the heart of Old San Juan, perfect for those seeking refuge from the rain or simply looking to unwind. During a recent visit, my friends and I stumbled upon this cozy spot while exploring the vibrant streets. Our 2nd time here, Sun June 29th, and they didn't disappoint. It was an early dinner, and our waitress was also the bartender, again, early dinner. I didn't get her name but she had long brownish black hair, a young girl very nice and pleasant. Our first time was a very late night dinner, and the bar side was very busy, and the restaurant side was slightly busy, but their food just seems to be very on point. This Sunday, we, 4 adults, ordered wings for an appetizer, which were very good, and 2 entrees of white rice with red beans with chunks of fried pork with fried plantains. All very good. Yes, it was enough for 4 as we're not big heavy eaters. We also had 2 beers and 4 mocktails, and our bill, including the tip, was $82. I'd definitely go back.

My friends and I were visiting Puerto Rico last week and we toured Old San Juan by foot on Saturday. Sometime shortly after noon, the rain started and we scrambled to find shelter. All of the restaurants and bars filled up quickly. In our frantic search for a dry place to wait out the storm, we stumbled into this small bar. We were a party of eight and the bar was empty so we sat at the bar, ordered some drinks and food and enjoyed our time there. Our bartender Carmen, was a wonderful host and the food and drinks were awesome! If we ever come back to PR, we will definitely come back here. Thanks Carmen!!!
