Steak house
The Woodhouse Bar & Grill is a beloved steakhouse in Bendigo, offering a cozy and rustic dining experience. Located on Williamson Street, this restaurant is known for its friendly atmosphere and outdoor seating with a charming fireplace. The interior features beamed ceilings, dim lighting, and brick walls that create a welcoming ambiance. As you step inside, the aroma of redgum wood burning on the grill fills the air while dry-aged loins hang in chiller cabinets.
We ate here Mother's Day weekend and it was extremely busy. It has a quiet, sleek atmosphere. Love the carpet stops noise travelling. The salad was so good. The sashimi entree was my fave. Burgers were good. Steaks cooked as requested. All of the sides and entrees were enjoyable. For us this establishment had very average service. Very stiff, zero personality. Didn't read their customers well. We had to ask several times for things. Ordered a burger without bacon it came with bacon. Highly recommend the food tho.

We had the most fabulous meal here. The menu is sensational and the food delicious. Everything was cooked to absolute perfection. The staff were attentive, friendly and fun. For the quality of the food and the cosy atmosphere, we found it very reasonably priced. Lucky you Bendigo, what a gem of a place you have!
Kerri L — Google review
Wow! Just wow. A black wall and door when you enter. And a full restaurant awaits you. Delicious smells of charred woodfired meat. Wonderful service, we had the degustation menu with items like kingfish, steal tartare and Wagyu steak. Every course was so good. Well worth the visit, we will be back.
Tamara S — Google review
I had the pleasure of dining at The Woodhouse Bar & Grill and was thoroughly impressed by both the cuisine and the service. The steak, ordered medium rare, was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and precisely as requested. It was clear that great care had been taken in both preparation and presentation. The lobster was equally outstanding, delicately coated in a garlic batter that enhanced the natural sweetness of the meat without overwhelming it. Every bite reflected a thoughtful balance of texture and taste. Service throughout the evening was attentive, professional, and seamless, contributing to a truly enjoyable dining experience. The combination of expertly prepared dishes and warm, efficient service left me with a strong desire to return. The Woodhouse Bar & Grill more than deserves a five-star rating—highly recommended.
Jac S — Google review
Absolutely fantastic experience! The steak was cooked to perfection and full of flavour. The sides complemented the meal beautifully, and the service was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for both casual dinners and special occasions. Highly recommend this place to any steak lover!
Bowen Z — Google review
Over the past two years in Bendigo, we’ve visited Woodhouse more than 10 times and often brought friends to experience what we considered the city’s top fine dining. Sadly, our latest visit was deeply disappointing. The female manager’s service was unprofessional. We ordered two medium-rare steaks, but one was overcooked. While she did agree to replace it, she said “It’s also the lighting here, I can’t really see” and the steak’s thickness hence why it’s overcooked. When paying, we found we’d been charged for a different, more expensive dish—about $100 more—than what we ordered. The manager implied it was on our end that did not noticing the size of the steak, the name when they served, and only after discussion, we both agreed to meet in the half way, $60 discount was applied, but leaving us confused and uncomfortable. On the positive side, the male staff member (pictured in our second photo) was very professional and saved part of our experience. Although the meat quality is excellent, two negative encounters with the manager have put us off returning or recommending Woodhouse to friends.
Yaya H — Google review
Our group of four sat in the bar at our favourite seating..the young lady looking after us was attentive polite and excellent at her job. Our wines being Fiano Shiraz and moscato were all delicious along with the scrumptious bread to start..we then shared steak, sides and skewers..topped off with the dessert tasting plate..all were superb.. overall our experience was exactly what we have come to expect and to be honest would find it very hard to beat..thanks Woodhouse for another memorable evening.
Nicky P — Google review
Still one of the best steaks I’ve ever had! We returned to The Woodhouse after last visiting Bendigo ten years ago. The lunch menu, especially the Sher Wagyu rostbiff #7 cooked over redgum, was absolutely superb. The warm and inviting atmosphere, complete with an open fire on a chilly winter’s day, made the experience even more memorable. Service was attentive and professional.

Masons of Bendigo is an industrial-chic restaurant located in the heart of Bendigo's CBD, offering a modern Australian dining experience. The restaurant boasts sleek lines and sophisticated touches, creating a perfect setting for a special night out. Chef Nick Anthony showcases his culinary expertise by incorporating global flavors into locally sourced produce, presenting dishes that range from Asian to Mediterranean and even Middle Eastern influences. The drinks list features a strong regional focus, including Central Victoria's champion wines, beer, and cider.
Amazing food and service as always. Although it’s sad that I won’t be able to have Masons again. I will seriously miss miso infused butter and your sourdough bread! And of course many more delicious dishes that will always remain in my memory. I really admire your talent to create delicious dishes. Thank you so much for giving so many beautiful memories to many of us. Best of wishes 🤍

The food was delicious and presented beautifully. A really creative menu, excellent service and a great wine list. Our sommelier was knowledgeable and passionate, making the wine pairing an engaging experience. The chefs’ talent truly shone through. I was thrilled they called me after we were waitlisted. We’re so happy we got the chance to dine here before they close at the end of the year. Overall, a delightful dining experience!

We are a group of 8 coming Bendigo for the weekend just for dining at Masons. It was delightful. The settings classy, the service impeccable, the food presentation exquisite, the most important element, the tasting was wonderful, delicious, fantastic combination of flavours and textures with every bite. Well worth the trip from Melbourne.
Thanh H — Google review
Masons of Bendigo was absolutely outstanding! This restaurant in country Victoria is well worth planning a road trip around the experience. Simply excellence and innovation on a plate! So much local produce (done very well) to enjoy. Prepare yourself for the taste sensation of the year! Fantastic service with much attention to detail. We were served by the wonderful Simon and Elijah (Eli). Thanks so much for such a memorable night! So many superlatives - I could go on forever :-) The photos will help you see the magic that happens here. We are very particular about good food and this restaurant is amazing. Cannot recommend highly enough. We will return!

Thoroughly impressed! Honestly bang for you buck fine dining. So many elements to each dish, all prepared and cooked to absolute perfection. Thoughtful and well designed menu. Amazing use and show case of local produce. Fantastic atmosphere and dining experience. The chefs are clearly talented. Left so full. Little to no waiting between dishes. Friendly, personable, helpful and fun staff. 100% would come back, I rate this better than most of the fine dining restaurants in Melbourne. So lucky to have these guys here in Bendigo. Thank you!!!
Patti T — Google review
Worth the hype. If you're looking for a fine dining experience outside of Melbourne, Masons is a great choice. Extremely helpful staff that were happy to make recommendations (based on what you like, not what is most expensive, like some fine dining). There is a set menu which changes seasonally but there is room for dietary changes. Great wines and cocktails. Beautiful venue but can be a bit noisy due to it's small size, and parking is limited. Overall a lovely meal.
Aydin B — Google review
Absolutely blown away, this is by far the best restaurant in Victoria and is on a level with my favourite restaurant in SA. The food was beautifully presented with all flavours perfectly working together. My compliments to the chef responsible for the pastry used in the tomato tarts, it was so delicate yet held together until the fork touched it.

Masons is a very fine restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. The food was superbly presented and every dish was delicious. The matched wines were a highlight too. The service was gorgeous as well. This is a most impressive regional restaurant where they do everything well. Highly recommended.

What a stunning spot! Housed in a beautifully restored 19th‑century bank building, the architecture is absolutely breathtaking and sets the tone for a truly memorable experience. The wine selection is exceptional — over a thousand labels from local Bendigo and Heathcote regions, plus some rare international finds. So thoughtfully curated and perfect for every kind of wine lover. The menu complements the wines beautifully, with a mix of Mediterranean-inspired and tapas-style dishes. Think warm Mt Zero olives, cheese, meats, and delicious bruschetta — perfect for grazing and sharing. And the service? Just lovely. Friendly, attentive, and genuinely knowledgeable — they really make you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. A gorgeous venue with amazing wines, a great menu, and warm, genuine hospitality. Highly recommend.

Got the rosé & moscato — both were nice :) the star of the show was definitely the chips though!!! Absolutely blew us away. The aioli and relish were both so so so good and rich, a must try! Price point was also extremely reasonable considering how closely located it is to the more “touristy” locations!

Great Atmosphere and Even Better Cocktails Loved the relaxed vibe at the Wine Bank. We sat out the front and watched the world go by — such a perfect spot. The highlight? The best spicy Margaritas I’ve ever had, made by Alister. Absolute perfection in a glass. Highly recommend for a laid back afternoon or evening drink

Came to Bendigo for the Freda Kahlo exhibition and stopped into Wine Bank for lunch. What a lovely little gem of a place!! Building steeped in history and has a beautiful atmosphere. Staff all very friendly and food was fantastic! We enjoyed the pasta special which was lamb ragu with stracciatelle pasta which was one of the best pasta meal's we have had! As good as any top Italian restaurant in Melbourne! Baked Camembert Cheese was totally indulgent and bruschetta with Onion Jam and Fetta and mushroom and truffle bruschetta absolutely divine! Highly recommend this place if you are ever in Bendigo! We will definitely make the trip back from Melbourne!

Toni was brilliant. She seated us, catered to our needs, the rest of the staff were amazing accommodating. Good was great. Next time I'm in Bendigo I will definitely be back. Thank you Toni for getting us a table

My best friend and I travelled down from Melbourne to Frida Kahlo and stumbled on the Wine Bank unbeknown to us it was the most popular bar in town. We took our seat in front of the bustling bar in front of a fire as there were no seats (obviously so popular) anyway, we watched as our mezcal Margherita was made and it was hands down the best Margherita I have ever had! Then I found out it was her own recipe!! Amazing. Followed by baked Camembert, prawns and charcuterie… wine bank.. we will be back!!!! Thank you

Visiting Bendigo from Sydbey, we ate lunch here today; 3 small plates/tapas and glass of wine each. Service was excellent, food very good and great value for chef inspired food. Very nice building too. Would happily return and recommend. (ps, I'm still chuckling at the 1 star review that complained their carpaccio and cerviche were raw).

My husband, Patrick, and I travelled to Bendigo on Easter Sunday for the Festival and ended up finding this 💎 gem of a restaurant. We started off with cocktails 🍸, selected the 'Lucky Seven' for our lunch (a cross-section of 👨‍🍳 chef's selection of 7 dishes for the day and this delicious food was accompanied by a bottle of Rose wine. The food was sensational and, honestly, every bite felt like a party in our mouths!!! Desserts were also sensational...I am not often impressed by what's out there anymore... however, this establishment was pure joy - from beginning to end!!! Not only is the venue quirky (but elegant), and also having outdoor seating under cover in a funky lane, the whole ambience/atmosphere had a great vibe!! The energy of the whole venue was next level; the servers were all enthusiascally polite, the owner, Finn, was such an engaging personality, it became clear to me how and why he made such a success of his restaurant!!! He is THE man and his chef and staff are a reflection of his discerning taste. Everything, from the decor, glasses, dishes, etc. was impeccable 👌. Truly, the food, service, drinks and the whole experience was so thoroughly enjoyed - I am still thinking about it the next day!! We will come back and will not bother dining anywhere else when coming back to Bendigo. So.... for me to write such a long review is unusual. In a word: WOW❣️ what a great place and I cannot wait to eat here again soon!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here. Service by James was excellent. All food was fantastic. Loved the Moreton bay bug toast. Chicken bao were great. Scallops were delicate and fresh . The ravioli pasta was excellent. Really enjoyed the kimchi rice. All cocktails were Yummo. Would highly recommend would def return

In contrast to the casual atmosphere, the quality of food was fine dining level and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The customer service was warm and friendly. We did find it a bit noisy but that seemed to be the trade-off for the casual, friendly vibe.

We had a great afternoon at this place. Great food, great wine, great atmosphere. We were a group of 4, we had the Dispensary experience which is a choice of 5 dishes decided by the chef, each dish was delicious, loved the passion of the owner explaining the diff ingredients of each dish. Helped us enjoy the food even better. A must visit if you are in Bendigo and looking to get the regional vibe.

On our recent trip to Bendigo for the Frida Kahlo exhibition we kicked off the Saturday night at The Dispensary. It did not disappoint we had - killer cocktails, delish tapas (including the winning Lamb taco from the taco trail comp) and a waiter that was engaging and at times had us in stitches. Bendigo, you’re full of surprises! #FoodieFind #BendigoNights

Great vibes from the moment we arrived. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. They all seem to genuine enjoy their jobs. Food was very well done. Cocktails were good too. The Beef Rib with sorghum is perfect. Give it a try if you visit.

Absolutely outstanding. We selected the 7 dish feed me option. We chose very wisely. The variety was terrific. Every course was a beauty. Lots of innovation. Lots of great flavours and textures. We had no trouble selecting some good wines to share with the meal, as well. Service from Annabel was outstanding throughout. This is high level regional dining at a reasonable price. We would return here any time. Highly recommended.

Malayan Orchid Restaurant is a renowned dining spot that has been serving up creative Asian cuisine since 1993. The menu features a unique blend of traditional cooking styles and locally sourced Australian ingredients, including game meats like kangaroo, crocodile, and emu. Diners can expect a wide range of dishes, from mild Nyonya flavors to spicy Thai coconut curries and Malay Sambals.
Just had an amazing dinner here with my partner earlier this evening. The meals were terrific—familiar Malaysian flavours with high-quality seasonal ingredients cooked to perfection. Nothing was too spicy or unbalanced. Personal highlight: the Assam Fish, absolutely delightful! The experience was made even better by the peaceful and warm ambience. They pay great attention to detail, like having ice cubes in our water pitcher. And the staff? Absolutely lovely and friendly, with a high level of care, especially Tammy, who made the whole experience enjoyable. We couldn't be happier. If you choose to come here, you will be very satisfied and delighted!

We weren’t sure what to expect walking into Malayan Orchid, but we were honestly blown away. The space inside was warm and inviting, and even though we didn’t have a booking, they welcomed us in straight away with no fuss. The food? Just incredible. Every dish was packed with flavour — so much so that we ordered more than we needed simply because we couldn’t resist trying more. It’s the kind of place where you find yourself planning your next visit before you’ve even left. Can’t wait to come back next time we’re in Bendigo. Highly recommended. Daniel & Elinor

Good food, great ambiance generally all around good vibes. Although the service was very slow when I dined in the other day. Drinks and entree were received in 15 minutes. But my main dish was received almost an hour later. I received a complimentary drink on the house. Which was nice. But when I mentioned the wait time, I was corrected by the manager eventhough I had timestamps, since I was taking pictures all throughout the night. The food was delicious and authentically Malaysian. However, the experience was tarnished by the slow service.

I have eaten here a few times now and it never disappoints! The revamped interior makes for a cozy atmosphere. The new menu has a wider range of delicious dishes and should keep every punter happy. We phoned ahead with our booking to alert the kitchen of dietary requirements and they were amazing at accommodating our needs. The service was excellent - attentive but not intrusive - and the hostess checked in to make sure everything was going well. Our meals were fantastic! We made a range of selections and shared amongst our group of four using the lazy Susan on the round table we snagged with our booking. The variety of meals, the quality of produce, the simple, elegant presentation was all excellent. Thanks for another beautiful night out!

Great restaurant with great food, service and value! The ambiance is really nice, too. We went as a group and were really impressed with the food, service and extensive drink offerings at reasonable prices. The chilli prawn sambal dish was yummy as was the egg plant dish. Highly recommend! Worth coming back to Bendigo just to go here again.

They were attentive without being pushy — really professional and kind. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal or a special occasion. Clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated. What a delicious surprise this place was. Highly recommend the avocado (which is actually the best guacamole I ever tasted) with crispy delicious bacon on crusty sourdough. My son had peanut butter on toast, simple but delicious and creamy. My husband had the Spanish breakfast. Practically licked his plate. Coffee also exceptional. Lovely staff, especially the chef who I suspect is the owner. Unassuming little gem. Loved it and won’t go anywhere else for breakfast in Bendigo again!

I recently dined at this restaurant and was thoroughly impressed. The food was exceptionally delicious, offering a symphony of flavors that tantalized my taste buds. The ambiance added to the overall experience, with a stunning setting that was both inviting and picturesque. What stood out most, however, was the service. The staff was not only efficient but also incredibly friendly and charming, making our meal even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a delightful culinary experience combined with a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Stumbled upon this place, isn't that always the best way on a dreary Saturday. Ate in the alleyway. Pleasant service and really delicious food. We choose simply because we were not that hungry. The banana bread with cinnamon butter was delicious and just the right amount of bready, the other item we tried was the three cheese toasty. High quality cheese, really well toasted. It is harder to do than one might imagine. I'd certainly recommend this place, the other food we saw came out looked fabulous. Go try this if you haven't!

The Woodhouse Bar and Grill, another local favorite, specializes in mouthwatering dishes made with fresh, locally sourced produce and also offers gluten-free options for those with special dietary needs.
We had the opportunity to dine here on Saturday night. The decor is beautiful, the view out the huge window, looking into Rosalind Park, stunning. The food and service was impeccable and well deserving of the reputation Alium has work had to gain.

Had the" Feed Me" 7 courses. Loved all the dishes. Exceptional service , professional staff. Nice heritage building. Best restaurant meal I have had for some time. One small thing is it is pricey, but the quality of the food makes the wallet hit not too bad. Good cocktails.

With two hats this is the place to dine in Bendigo, just opposite the fountain and close to main street. Previously a bank the heritage ceiling is stunning, as is the food of the feed me menu. . 🍞 Bread & butter 🦪 Oysters 🥢 Spiced pumpkin arancini / japanese curry / kewpie / furikake 🥩 Wagyu carpaccio / piperade / caperberry / banana shallot / wasabi snow 🍄‍🟫 Risotto / local mushroom / aged balsamic / grana padano 🥩🥔🥬 Roaring forties lamb backstrap with hassleback potato, watercress salad, Chimichurri 🍑 white peach sorbet 🍧 Oolong tea panna cotta / peach / nectarine jelly / verbena / apricot sorbet . Everything was good, but it was the lamb that was our favourite with that beautiful potato. The arancini was creative, but needed more sauce, the risotto size was perfect as part of a many course meal. Wrapping up with a palette cleanser and perfect oolong pannacotta. Service was excellent. A lovely place for date night . 🥩 @aliumdining 💵 Feed Me Menu 120pp + drinks 📍 Bendigo

Alium was a gastronomic delight! The food was both creative and refined. The wines recommended by the sommelier further enhanced the pleasure. The service was impeccable. Quoting Marie Kondo.. the dining experience sparked joy.

I absolutely love coming here. There's a terrific choice of food and price points. The wine is terrific and the meals are a carefully considered and thoughtful combination of textures and flavours. I especially love coming here as a solo diner as Nick and all of the staff are more than accommodating and so kind. Their cocktails that I've had are a tasty balance of sweet and sour. Last time I visited I had the carpaccio and risotto as a starter and the crispy duck bao as a main. Especially recommend the duck - the crispy outside is perfection! Thanks Alium!

From entry into the restaurant, sitting at the table and the service. Alium is 5 stars all the way. The waitress we had was on the ball, the service was actually quite exceptional all around. Cocktails devine, food delicious! Thank you

If you want an indulgent meal, showcasing local produce with personal service, all in a beautiful dining room, give it a try. Everything (except the fries) is made in-house. I don't usually give 5 stars, but the entire experience was awesome.

The finest meal my wife and I have ever experienced. Just FABULOUS! Service was super friendly and the dishes came out at perfect intervals. For us it was a special treat and so worth it. A true dining experience. We left the food decision up to the chef and all of the seven courses were excellent.Stand outs were the scallops and sea urchin dishes. Definitely will return. Thank you to all involved,

Percy and Percy is a charming café located just outside the CBD, featuring a lovely courtyard and cozy interior. Owners Elisha and Dan prioritize using the finest local ingredients, including milk from a nearby dairy and produce from local grocers. The café's relaxed atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for a leisurely Sunday morning. With ample outdoor seating and a snug backyard area, it offers a welcoming environment for both visitors and their furry friends.
We really enjoyed our drinks particularly at Percy and Percy this morning! It’s near where we are staying and the vanilla latte and hot chocolate were very good! We liked the touch of the drinks coming with a Tiny Teddy too. We ate breakfast there too, with $3 for an additional egg being a bargain and there were no big breakfasts, but everything was a decent size. The serving girl didn’t enjoy her job, but was still friendly with us and there was a great view in the autumn outside by the coloured trees.

I really loved this cafe, a great spot for a nice and calm lunch! The Percy Cheeseburgers were juicy with lots of flavour, and the fresh apple juice was better than the supermarkets' apple juice. The food could have come a bit faster, but it was understandable considering the amount of people there. The tables were clean, the staff were nice, and despite the mass amount of customers, had a peaceful atmosphere. I would certainly recommend anyone to bring a friend or two here.

Great place, lovely atmosphere, wasn’t too thrilled with the Persian eggs I ordered. Amazing selection of cakes and deserts on display, tried the carrot cake and loved it, it was fresh and tasty! Coffee was good. Just slightly disappointed with the toast and eggs.

Great service, beautiful cafe, BLAT was delicious and great special price! Not giving 5 stars only because my brewed chai tea cost $8.7 (soy milk) and I think it’s way too much. This is the reason I don’t drink anymore coffee/tea when I go out. The place is really nice!

Delicious breakfast and coffee! We had the Persian eggs (swapped tomatoes to mushrooms) and Greens eggs & ham. Staff were really friendly and accomodating with ingredient changes. Rest of the menu and cabinet looked great also

They have mostly communal seating here, we were 'lucky enough ' to be seated at the same table as a grizzly child. Thankfully the parents were fantastic and got the child under control, so we were able to enjoy our breakfast. Hubby had the poached eggs, bacon, with tomato, spinach, feta and dukkah (can't remember what it was called) and I had the poached eggs on toast. Literally 2 eggs on one measly thin piece of sourdough toast - $15! The least they could have done is provided 1 piece of toast for each egg, for that sort of money! I had to pinch a piece of hubby's toast, otherwise I'd have gone hungry. Hubby enjoyed his big brekky at 8 Sisters Cafe alot more, but said the tomatoes were nice!

I normally just pop in for a coffee here, whilst I’m working, and it is a fantastic coffee... But having a day off, I decided to come in for a feed. I ordered a bacon and egg roll and a homemade hash brown, which were absolutely fantastic. The egg was cooked perfectly, and the bacon was a thicker cut. The homemade hash brown was crunchy and flavourful. Service was lovely, the staff were genuinely happy to be there, and catered to my needs promptly. Highly recommended

Harvest Food & Wine in Bendigo offers a unique dining experience with a touch of Elvis nostalgia. The bistro-deli-cellar door serves up hearty meals like the Elvis breakfast and roast chicken, as well as more conventional options such as the Euro breakfast and pumpkin leek tart. As a cellar door for North Run Wine Co., it provides an opportunity to taste owner Lincoln Riley's wines along with other local and international selections.
This place deserves an award it’s just that good. Okay I’ve been here a few times now and you really need to get yourself a table and give it a try because besides the amazing coffee it’s food is absolutely fantastic, staff are super nice and I guess the hardest part is getting a park within the area because it’s a busy little road. I’ll end by saying “Hands down the best Roast chicken you will have”.

I love the ambience but honestly the few times Ive come here, and maybe its the way I dress the staff are not friendly or welcoming Ive tried a few times and the food is a bit overpriced They also make you feel uncomfortable if you go the wrong area They have one area for coffee brunch etc and then another for lunch. Seems they have their favourite customers! They do have a reputation for being stand-offish but if you're cool and trendy and don't mind paying a little extra its the place for you Just have to get this off my chest

To begin with, Marsha is a certified legend. If hospitality had a hall of fame, she’d be front with a croissant in hand. Came here with friends. Next thing you know, we’re emotionally attached to a raspberry danish. The almond croissant..also dangerous. 🤤 Coffee was alright, but who cares when the pastries taste like they were hand-delivered by pastry angels? Staff are super cool and incredibly approachable. Marsha in particular goes above and beyond 10/10 would let this place ruin my diet again.

Coffee and food were great, so was the service. Take note though - The menu isn't a typical brunch menu you would expect to find in a cafe in Melb e.g. a big brekky, chilli eggs, eggs benedict etc, and wasn't very exciting. The only thing that appealed to us was the ham and cheese croissant which was delicious in all respect but it was $20.

Went to harvest today for lunch with my wife. We had just been across the road seeing the Frida Kahlo exhibition. The food at harvest is so good. My wife had two small salads. The carrot and the beetroot. The carrot salad has these amazing tasty nuts with it. My wife let me try 1. I had the chicken in mole sauce with black rice seared corn and condiments. This was so good. The chicken was sooooo tasty. And the mole sauce was the best I have had in a long time. Hands down to the chef and all the staff at this establishment. Highly recommend if you are in the region

Absolutely loved this spot for lunch and a wine. Food was delicious, great wine and the staff were friendly. Highly recommend a visit for somewhere with a good vibe and food that makes you do the happy dance.

My daughter and I came here for a special outing and were told we could not sit at an empty, unreserved table near the window simply because we were “not two adults”. When questioned on this policy, they begrudgingly caved with an eye roll. I won’t be coming here again, with or without children. Why would anyone want to be treated so rudely while paying high prices for the privilege? The food is good but the environment is sadly quite toxic – I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome after the interaction and some of the staff seemed on edge too. Please do better.
Adrienne P — Google review
Not your usual cafe, Harvest’s menu appears to be so simple, not lengthy, just well chosen dishes prepared to perfection. Everything is fresh and seasonal. The roast chicken is absolutely the best - plump, tender meat surrounded by seasonal accompaniments. Keep an eye out for Friday night dinners, Sunday lunches and special meals that occur every now and then. They allow Harvest to showcase their capabilities and Marsha’s Desert Trolley may make an appearance. Saturday the almond croissants and fresh Danishes come out and the queue is often out the door - probably why I found the famous “Lune” ones a disappointment . Oh, and the coffee is good too!

Nestled in the heart of Bendigo's arts precinct, Ms Batterhams is a delightful culinary treasure located in the basement of the historic MacKenzie Hall. This sophisticated venue boasts an elegant atmosphere with plush booths and intricate decor that enhance your dining experience. The menu features seasonal creations inspired by southern European cuisine, showcasing local delicacies crafted by talented chefs. Guests can indulge in a carefully curated wine list, refreshing locally inspired cocktails, and an impressive selection of craft beers to complement their meals.
MS BATTERHAMS – 10 Mackenzie Street, Bendigo I am a big fan of Bendigo. It is a beautiful town with a vibrancy to it. There is also some good food to be enjoyed and Ms Batterhams is now the number one choice in the town after getting to experience it earlier this week. Located in Mackenzie Quarters the setting is beautiful and you feel good being there. A warm welcome was received as we arrived and I have to say the team looking after us were just superb. Our main server was a local lass who beamed with pride as she spoke about her hometown. It genuinely added to the experience. Let’s talk about the food, because it is very very good. The approach is share plates which is my favourite way to dine. You get to try it all. We began with Croquette de elote with chipotle mayo (order one each at least) . The creaminess of the filling was melt in your mouth good and the flavour just delicious. Saltbush cauliflower was served with a scorched eggplant, and medjool date puree with toasted pepitas. The cauliflower was tender and full of taste and the puree was a surprise treat. It was an unusual blend of flavours but they certainly work together. I love a saganaki but am fussy about it because I have had some of the very best. Ms Batterhams got their offering just right with perfectly fried cheese accompanied by a honey and muscatel dressing and, on this evening, some caramelised figs. Absolutely delicious.. The fish of the day was splendidly grilled Ling with a smoked harissa and tomato sauce that tickled your tongue in the nicest of ways. We paired the fish with roasted kipfler potatoes served with piquillo peppers and chipotle mayo. It was a wonderful way to round out the mains. Thankfully there was room for dessert and my partner enjoyed a beautiful Brulee whilst I indulged in a very naughty but nice Pavlova with poached plums and raspberries accompanied by a saffron and honey ice cream that was as smooth as silk. Ms Batterhams is definitely worth the trip to Bendigo. You can take in the sights and sounds of the town while you are there but, make sure you enjoy a fabulous meal in a gorgeous setting.

We stopped into Ms Batterhams as part of the Bendigo Taco Trail — and while we were too full to do the full dinner experience, what we did try was absolutely incredible. Their take on tacos? Packed with flavour. The oysters? Fresh and beautifully presented. And the house sourdough with cultured butter… divine. Paired it all with a couple of gorgeous wines from their list and honestly didn’t want to leave. Such a stunning, intimate space with great energy and even better food and wine. Can’t wait to come back and do it properly next time!

Celebrated my sister’s birthday here and the food, service and ambiance were outstanding! Portion size was perfect as we could try a number of dishes without feeling too full. All of the dishes that we ordered were delicious! Some favourites pictured here, the smoked trout on sourdough crumpet, saganaki with honey and muscatel dressing, gnocchi with roasted pumpkin, sage and hazelnuts, and the duck breast with purple carrot puree and pomegranate glaze. Can’t wait to go back!

Celebrated my birthday here and we had the chef menu. Food is yummy but the portion could have been bigger. Or maybe I’m just really a big eater. Overall, the experience was still good.

We had a wonderful meal at Ms Batterhams. The staff were so attentive and looked after us very well through the night. The food was exceptional- high quality and a great use of native ingredients. The sourdough was amazing, couldn’t get enough to mop up the anchovy sauce. And the kangaroo dish was one of the best we’ve had! The larger groups did make it a bit noisy at the end of the night.

A spectacular dining experience. We chose lots of tapas, and shared plates and loved everything! Very attentive staff, (without being overbearing) provided excellent advice and suggestions. I highly recommend you dine here when you're in Bendigo.

What a fantastic experience for a special girls lunch. Amazing cocktails, lovely, friendly service and the freshest seafood that I’ve even had in Bendigo. You could literally taste the sea water in the oysters! We will definitely be making this our regular for girls lunch

Had some business to do in Bendigo and came across Ms Batterhams restaurant. Quaint small restaurant with great atmosphere. Located in central Bendigo, in the heart of the Arts Precinct, MacKenzie Quarters has been lovingly restored to embrace its 145 year old history. LUNCH 12pm - 2.30pm (thursday-Sunday) DRINKS & bites 2.30pm - 5pm (thursday-sunday) EVENING 5pm - 11pm (Monday - sunday) We didn't have a booking, and the waitress found us a table for two. The menu is designed for sharing. Starting with tapas and then there are small plates and large plates to share. This suited us as we were not looking for a large meal. We ordered some tapas, and somehow, we were now hungry for more. The sourdough bread and whipped butter with black sea salt were to die for. The best bread I have had in a long time. Each plate we ordered was in small proportions, appealing and delicious. They say you eat with your eyes. The plates here were certainly eye appealing and delicious, they were delectable. We asked for a local chardonnay, but unfortunately, there wasn't a local chardonnay on the menu. We ordered one from Macedon, which did not disappoint. The wait staff were friendly and attentive, and nothing was too much for them. This was a great find and should we need to visit Bendigo again we will return.

Had undercooked sweets there twice. The first was a peanut butter cookie, the staff tried to convince me it was supposed to be that consistency, unfortunately I was not convinced as I'd had a few there prior to being served up an undercooked one. The staff offered to replace it with another raw one which I declined, no other replacement or refund offered for the uneaten cookie. Today it was two take away slices of apple crumble. With undercooked raw goo on top. Paid $14 for two servings of pure Yuck. Couldn't take it back as I was on my way to Melbourne when I realised. No cutlery in the packages either. Won't order apple crumble or peanut butter cookies again. Just the thought of eating these greasy undercooked sweets is enough to put me off. Had other meals there. Quality is poor and overpriced. Hot chocolate is great to have there, take away cups are too small.

I have just been to your restaurant. Your spaghetti and chicken were nice but the blue grenadier fish was smelly from the stat and my guest could not finish it. After 10 minutes we were all put off from the smell coming out of the dish. We did give your waitress feedback and she said she would pass it on to the chef... we still had to pay for it. It's ok never mind, wouldn't want you to work at a loss. Just letting others know now.

Gorgeous restaurant. We initially thought it was just the small cozy space downstairs but we were sat at a table upstairs where it’s even more lively and much larger but it doesn’t lose its cozy vibes. The food was absolutely delicious - focaccia and pasta (almost every table ordered the Pasta Misto so we did the same and our choices of risotto, gnocchi and rigatoni did not disappoint) warmed us on a cold Bendigo night! To top it all off, the friendly service was just delightful. We hope to be back to try more of the tempting menu.

The Mill Castlemaine, originally established in 1875 as the Castlemaine Woollen Mill and later transformed into Victoria Carpets, has now become a vibrant hub for artisan manufacturing and food. The on-site food precinct features a variety of culinary delights such as a Viennese coffee house, winemakers, sourdough baker, craft brewery, smallgoods maker, cheese and dairy producer, chocolatier and ice cream maker.
Fabulously huge undercover area showcasing antiques and curios, artwork works and craft works, crockery and cutlery and almost anything else you couldn’t think of. Air conditioned but not icy cold. Well maintained Public toilets. Even a section at the front with a stack of arcade games for the kids (& big kids) for when they enviably get bored. Like a big supermarket, you just pay at the end when you exit, not with individual stall owners. Outside are eateries, sweeteries (?! Chocolates and ice cream), coffee, local artists, and a beautiful living green shady arch. Well worth a stop to fill your day.

Flight Bar & Bottleshop is located in the heart of Bendigo's business district, inside Centreway Arcade near Hargreaves Mall. Despite its unexpected location, it has revitalized the old mall and draws large crowds for lunch and dinner. The bar offers a variety of food options from local favorites like Flight Bar and Gaijin to winter warmers from Curry Garden. Additionally, more than 25 of Bendigo's top restaurants are available on Uber Eats for convenient delivery.
I would go as far to say that flight is now an iconic part of Bendigo. The food is decadent and the service is top tier. Highly reccomend the bokbok chicken burger but be prepared to have it ruin any other chicken burger you may try from then on.
Nick O — Google review
Bok Bok Chicken Burger Where’s the meat? The crumbed coating is thicker than the actual chicken. For the most part, could barely taste it.
L R — Google review
I am so sorry to only give a three, but the chicken was just terrible. It was burnt and the medium flavour didn't even have the slightest hint of spice, I am not a hardcore spice-lover either. All staff were lovely, helpful and super knowledgeable about the beer. The beer and liquor range is fantastic and features many Australian producers. The pickles were great. Maybe they just forgot my chicken was cooking, I might give them another go in future given most reviews are excellent.

Flight used to be the best place in Bendigo for wings, but since they changed owners, or whatever happened, it hasn’t been the same. The new owners claim they use the exact same recipes, yet everything seems different. The traditional small, around 2 finger-sized chicken wings are now these huge cuts that are shaped too inconveniently to eat, and the BBQ and Buffalo sauces that used to be perfect are now barely even on the chicken, and are almost flavorless. We once had to send “buffalo” wings back because they were literally just unseasoned cooked chicken with no sauce, and while the owner did apologize, he told us he could try to “make up” a buffalo sauce (that was runny and flavorless) because he’s made one at home before. Even though we *ordered* buffalo wings from the menu, and they claim to “not change any recipes.” The chicken used in the burgers seems lower quality too. My partner and I have revisited multiple times to see if it gets better, but it hasn’t. We used to love Flight, but with all the bad experiences, we’ve decided to finally just stop going back.

Wasn't blown away. Went for Valentine's day. The atmosphere I expect to what was received was defiantly different. We were squeezed in pretty close to another couple on one long table with the only thing separating us being a wine bucket. The duck breast was nice. But the crab not so much. The desert was nice. But a bit small. My 2 cents

And they had 2 waiters for the whole function so we where eating desert at around 1030 pm The place it self is very well set out and down stairs is great. But for a high end place the service should not have taken so long Seafood was great. Steak comes in two forms. Medium and well done. If I order a steak from a high end restaurant. And I want rare I should be able to get it.

We were just looking for a good place for lunch and we definitely found it. Next door to Rosalind Park, in the heart of Bendigo, it's no surprise it's busy. I felt bad ordering fish and chips when I saw the array of beautiful dishes all around me but, the 2 fillets were chunky and great. The chips were segments of potato that have kept their skin. Very happy with my meal. We also had the Warm Duck Salad. Nicely cooked duck. Delicious cherries and sweetened nuts. However I felt the portion size was a bit small. The waiter was very accommodating regarding food intolerances and the restaurant had a lovely laid back and modern feel to it. We had a really nice experience.

The food here was absolutely amazing. All of the dishes were created and served with the utmost care and precision. On one occasion during the night the owner came over and questioned whether we were enjoying out evening and whether there was anything he could do. This level of service and attention to detail makes it an extremely relaxed and enjoyable dining experience, one that I won't forget anytime soon. I can't wait to go back.

Nestled in the forecourt of the Golden Dragon Museum, this vibrant market offers an array of fresh fruits, vegetables, artisanal cheeses, honey, wines, breads, and meats directly from farmers to your basket. Visitors can indulge in a variety of delicious offerings while enjoying live music performances that enhance the lively atmosphere.
Happened on the farmers market on Saturday. Met some lovely people, bought some lovely greek cakes and doughnuts from Anna's Kitchen, chatted with Nick from Big Tree Distillery and picked up two litres of olive oil from Bridgeward Grove. A fantastic start to the morning

Great market. Food share does an amazing job. When advertising this market, maybe let people know it's mostly cash. Wonderful selection of fresh produce.

Not impressed by the condition of the property in front of the Food Bank. Could somebody organise a working bee to repaint and upgrade Mr Wilson's house and front garden.Prehaps even put in a front fence?

Wow, this place was amazing. Huge market and excellent variety of products. We met so many wonderful vendors. We were there for about 3 hours . My only criticism was the lack of seating available for a coffee and rest. But I would go again

Best market to get great produce; only on on 2nd Saturday each month.
Stuart S — Google review
Fantastic fresh produce, great range of suppliers and stalls, family friendly atmosphere, the markets are a fantastic throwback to days of locally produced, accessible fruit, vegetables, meat, smallgoods and baked goods. Something for everyone, and the prices are extremely competitive given that you're taking to the grower/producer directly.

GPO Bendigo is a modern restaurant located in a contemporary space with a courtyard, offering Spanish and Mediterranean tapas, pizza, paella, and an array of cocktails. The venue caters to various occasions such as group gatherings or intimate date nights. With a relaxed dining atmosphere and a plush mezzanine lounge for enjoying cocktails, it's suitable for different types of get-togethers. The establishment also offers well-cooked and delicious meals along with attentive service.
My husband and I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary tonight at GPO. The food was very tasty and generous portions. I particularly enjoyed my Passionfruit Mojito! Gemma our waitress was super friendly, knowledgeable and efficient - she made our dining experience all the more enjoyable. Highly recommend GPO and will definitely go again.

We had Tapas and a pear and prosciutto pizza, we loved every bite. Service was amazing but the food was the star.
Karen P — Google review
Wonderful, very friendly and attentive service - can't be faulted. Ok prices for dishes and a wonderful ambience. Unfortunately, our tapas dishes weren't what we'd hoped for. The lamb ribs were pure fat - no meat at all. The wagyu skewers had an unusual medicinal-tasting glaze on them, and the bang bang popcorn chicken was too salty, we sadly couldn't even finish it out take it away (lest we had a side dish like rice). Desserts look lovely, but we didn't get them, sadly. Really friendly staff.
Norman C — Google review
We visited GPO Bendigo for a family dinner to celebrate a birthday. The restaurant itself looked inviting, and the service was excellent, the staff were friendly and professional. Unfortunately, our experience was spoiled by a loud and rude group seated next to us. Their behaviour made the atmosphere uncomfortable and detracted from our celebration. The noise also affected our order: one starter was missed entirely, and two of the steaks we ordered were undercooked. Portions were small, with very limited vegetables, just a few pieces of potato with the steaks, which didn’t feel like good value for money. Additionally, we were surprised to find that the restrooms lacked soap and sanitary bins. This felt unhygienic and disappointing, especially in a restaurant setting where cleanliness is expected. Overall, despite the good service, we were left dissatisfied and wouldn’t return or recommend GPO Bendigo to friends or family.

ATMOSPHERE. We were there just at opening time for lunch which was very pleasant but I'm sure it would be a great place to hang with friends for an evening meal or event. A good size bar too. FOOD. The meals we had were well cooked, presented and tasted delicious. DRINKS. I had an Old Fashioned which the waitress had never made before and she ended up making a really good drink. Others had a craft beer and water. SERVICE. We were welcomed by the lovely waitress before being shown to our table. Sadly some of the tables and a chair were still sticky from the night before but the waitress was apologetic and cleaned it quickly. The food and drinks came in reasonable time. 4 Stars due to the sticky tables and chair.
Fip — Google review
Great service - very friendly, fast and welcoming. I didn't really like our tapas dishes. The lamb ribs had no meat on them at all - pure fat. The wagyu beef skewers had a strange, medicinal taste, and the chicken pops were too salty, drowned in soy sauce. We didn't stay for dessert, which looked very appetising on the menu. Best off just ordering a steak, surely you can't go wrong with that.

Food was amazing. I had the garlic prawns and it was not short on prawns and my husband had the pork belly with seared scallops. I would recommend this hotel to any one. Well done Lakeview

My partner and I were on our way home to Melbourne from Swan Hill. We just randomly found this place for dinner because we saw the rating in google and also saw the photo that they serve steak. I found the green peppercorn sauce for the steak was absolutely fantastic. The peppercorn flavour is strong enough that you know it’s pepper sauce. I know a lot of places stuff it up. The salads in the dishes are very nice and fresh, unlike the soggy soft and disgusting one in the supermarket. Gluten free option for fisherman basket is also good. You know it’s hard to find gluten free fish and chips or seafood baskets etc., not to mention to find a good one.
Honhei L — Google review
Great atmosphere, but the prawns are not too fresh, pork belly is nice.
Mark Z — Google review
Service was great but not unexpected as it was a late lunch so not especially busy. A bit of a nothing atmosphere if I'm honest. Sitting at the high tables there was an extremely cold draft from above so had to move. Ordered the pulled pork burger & sweet potato stack. Pork burger was nice enough, meat was moist but still nothing special & chips were cold. Sweet potato stack was ordinary at best. Odd flavour combination, more of an Indian flavour profile with tonnes of fennel seeds. Texture was dry & somewhat unenjoyable sadly. The mushroom & spinach were nice but subsequently this dish wasn't worth almost $30. An expensive meal for not a lot of satisfaction. Left a substantial amount on the plate.

A last minute decision to head out for tea and what a great decision it was!!!!! We reserved and took advantage of the "pre-order" feature. Love it!!!! So easy to follow, streamlined and made for a fuss free relaxed meal when we got there. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

**Amazing Experience at Lake View Hotel, Bendigo!** I had the pleasure of visiting the Lake View Hotel, and I must say, the experience was fantastic. The staff were super nice, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxing night out. The drinks were awesome, with a great selection to choose from. I ordered the 300g Scotch filet, and it was absolutely delicious. The meat was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor – definitely a must-try for any steak lover! My friend had the Prawn & Chorizo Fettuccine, and they loved it. The dish was well-prepared, with a great balance of flavors. It was both nice and incredibly yummy. Highly recommend this place if you're in Bendigo!

We chose to have our wedding here in March 2025. Amy and her team have been professional, thoughtful and excellent hosts. We live overseas and the communication has been simple and easy. Guests have reported that the food was plentiful and delicious - particularly the hot chips! Reassuring hands for the big day - we would thoroughly recommend for anyone to have a celebration here.

Excellent up-market pub. The food was great, the service was excellent. The steaks were cooked as requested and delicious! They have a kids menu if you need it and the drinks selection was decent. It was on the pricey side for a pub meal, but the quality of the produce was obvious and well worth it!

Beautiful building. Husband and I had dinner here on a Saturday night. Venue was very busy. We had an early booking so had the front dining room to ourselves for a while. Fireplace roaring. 3 course meal - calamari, a steak each and desserts were chocolate brownie and panna cotta. Staff attentive however, specials weren't told to us and timing off when drinks ordered to accompany main. Meal nearly complete when wines arrived. Would dine again.

The Good Loaf Sourdough Bakery & Cafe is a delightful combination of an award-winning bakery and a cozy cafe. Their in-house made dishes are wholesome and comforting, with their house-made crumpets being a top favorite. The bakery offers delicious sourdough bread that keeps customers coming back for more. Visitors can also enjoy outdoor seating and friendly staff at this cylindrical-shaped bakery. It's the perfect place to grab a healthy lunch or take home some delicious bread that freezes well.
I had a good memory here, nice coffee and bakery. And big breakfast never goes wrong, I love the fried beans and onion in it.

Cute place for a coffee and morning tea- as we did before driving back to Melbourne! Plenty of outdoor spaces to enjoy the sunshine and air. Coffee order took a lot longer to come out than expected and both coffees didn't come out at the same time. And scones also came out later (not sure if my partner who ordered may have been told there's a wait for a Monday morning). Still a good place to stop by!
Eating C — Google review
No doubt a great place for a Great Loaf of Sourdough! Love the salad of the day too! However the coffee need a little fix...my flat white was rather flat 😅 plus there was no pepper & salt on table.
Ping H — Google review
Great brunch location with good offerings on the menu. We ordered the poached eggs on toast (of the 3 orders, 2 were overdone ... so kids naturally complained to us that it was not runny enough). I ordered the avocado smash - which was delicious with the goats feta. The thickness of the toasted sourdough for all our meals could be better - a bit odd having sandwich slice thickness for a Cafe instead of toast thickness at the very least. Didn't really get to appreciate the sourdough when the slice is so thin ... the main reason we wanted to try the place. As a result did not buy a loaf as pre cut was sandwich thickness, with no other thickness available, and as we were travelling buying the uncut loaf did not suit. Small indoor dining area with seating for about 8ppl at 3 diff tables, but there is a large outdoor dining space under a marquee ... which I'm sure would be nice on a warm day. Nice family atmosphere, just shame about the sourdough thickness ... could really benefit from offering thicker slices with breakfast meals.
Joanna G — Google review
Fresh breads. There are options for gluten- free cakes and bread. My son likes the gluten-free chocolate cake. We ordered their big breakfast - my husband didn’t like the taste of the beans but overall it was good. Coffee isn’t their strength - it wasn’t good. So, if you want a good dose of caffeine, this isn’t your place. Options for outdoor dinning and takeaway. Pet friendly. It’s easy to find parking. Quick service. COVID restrictions protocol been upheld. Recommended for fresh breads and gluten-free cakes.

We stopped by Bendigo en route to Melb and were looking for a cafe that we could sit in for coffee as well as a toilet break. It was just after 3pm and we didn’t have much luck looking for a cafe that was still open (also most shops that are usually open were closed due to covid) but thankfully the owner of The Green Olive recommended this bakery so we ended up here. Nice cosy bakery, I love how it’s cylindrical in shape; smelt great as you entered, friendly staff, and has nice outdoor seating too. My friend ordered a long black which he quite liked. This place seems to have an extensive lunch menu too but sadly I was still full from brunch this morning and couldn’t fit anymore food in my tummy. Will have to return to sample some food and bread in the future!

A fun place to catch up with friends and family for brunch or lunch. A fantastic selection of bread, sweet treats and pastries.

Wow! We finally made it to the good loaf bakery, knowing that it was sadly closing. What an absolute shame! We really hope these guys find another venue to reopen because that bread is some of the best we’ve eaten and the beef pie was amazing…and we own our own bakery in Melbourne and make and sell our own signature sourdough too… but couldn’t not leave a review for these guys. Can’t wait to see them reopen somewhere because this is what our industry really needs🤞🤞

Red Smoke Bendigo is a must-visit culinary destination nestled in the heart of Bendigo. This vibrant tapas, bar, and grill restaurant has earned its reputation for serving up some of the best barbecue around. Guests rave about their tender brisket, smoky bourbon-glazed baby back ribs, and slow-cooked pulled pork that practically melts in your mouth. The generous portions come at reasonable prices, making it an ideal spot for both casual diners and families alike.
We booked Red Smoke on our visit to Bendigo on the long weekend. This place didn't disappoint us at all. The brisket burger, the beef brisket and lamb shoulder from the mains was so good and delicious as well as cooked to perfection. The staff was friendly but the service was bit slow. We loved our overall experience and highly recommend this place. If you love BBQ and you are in Bendigo this is a must visit place.

Made a last minute booking on a Friday night. Food was great, I ended up sharing a three meats & sides platter with the wife. The Burnt ends were really good and same with the Lamb shoulder, the Brisket was okay but id try something else next visit. The sides were great as well being perfectly golden and cooked through. Portion sizing was enough for me and the wife and for $75 for the platter you can't go wrong. The Jalepeno poppers were good but two for $10 seemed a bit steep. Drinks were reasonably prices at approximately $10 or less for a beer and Jack and coke being $12.50. Would definitely visit again.

Great meal and a really enjoyable evening. The waitresses were so good with our 4 year old son which really made the experience even better. Ribs, brisket and lamb shoulder were all fantastic.

We went to Red Smoke for the first time after meaning to go there for a while. The food was sensational, staff were friendly and it had a great feel. It feels like this place is someone’s labour of love or their dream. Reasonably priced, and we will definitely be back. A great asset in Bendigo.
Amber R — Google review
Very small place, you definitely need to book! I had the smoked brisket burger and chips. The wet slaw in the burger made it soggy. Also, the menu didn't mention it had cheese in it, but it did. Once I removed the cheese (I'm dairy intolerant) and the slaw, the rest wasn't bad, however, not very smokey! The chips were wonderful. My hubby had the smoked pulled pork, and said it was more slow cooked than smoked, he didn't detect any smokey flavour either. He enjoyed his charred corn, slaw and chips, (all sides at extra cost, the pork comes with nothing!). The service was good and friendly, drinks were good, bit honestly, my hubby does his own smoked meats at home - so much better than here!

Cool chic atmosphere here. Nice Rose wine on tap. We ordered the salami & olive pizza. Not too bad. I would have liked the salami to be not so big and more olives, but the taste was good. Loved that it is located at the Theatre which is a cool and novel idea. Would recommend.

The zuccha pizza was delicious. We ordered a salad, which was missing a key ingredient - roquette - when we asked where it was they claimed there was roquette in the dressing, which was a lie! So strange, and rude! Otherwise really like the place.

Ghosty's Diner is a popular spot in Bendigo, known for its excellent food and service. The setting inside a heritage bank building adds to its appeal, and the a la carte menu along with an extensive wine list make it a great dining choice. The diner also offers over 1,000 local and international wines for patrons to enjoy or take away. Visitors praise the friendly service and delicious offerings such as the buttermilk pancakes and burgers with piping hot fries.
Really nice vibe and amazing staff. The design aesthetic is NYC Diner style but tasteful and classy. The menu wasn't overwhelming but had a good range of options. Regular cheeseburger was very nice, fries for $5 extra were a decent portion and nice and crispy. The milkshake was a bit artificial but was fine. The staff were all so lovely, friendly and helpful, deserve all the praise they get. The place was so busy which is testament to how good it is, honestly was pretty great!

This is actually the cutest little diner ever. The vibe on entry was so cozy and welcoming. The menu isn’t over complicated and very well priced compared to other venues offering similar items. We had the fried chicken burger & cheeseburger, which were served up quickly, hot and super fresh. We will for sure be back.
Kayla H — Google review
Stumbled upon this diner with very good reviews on here. The place had a great vibe, very retro diner feels mixed with a modern touch. The service was decent too. But the food was average. I guve it a 3 star because it wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazingly good. Not up there as some of the best burgers or fried chicken. It was just alright. Above average food. The thick shakes were, well, average. The fries too were just okay. Overall, the service and atmosphere were great, but the food was just okay. Too pricey too for what it was.
Karam D — Google review
This place came highly recommended, so we were super excited to come and dine in when we visited Bendigo. The bartenders very professional and there are lots of drink options. Unfortunately we were constantly pushed to order and were told it gets busy on Saturday nights. Was this a suggestion for us to hurry up? It certainly didn’t help our experience. Drinks came out promptly. We ordered the chicken wings as a starter. They were very tasty and we were excited for our burgers to come out next. When the burgers arrived they were completely underwhelming in presentation. The taste experience matched the presentation. Underwhelming! Honestly I can make better at home! I could hardly taste any sauce on my chicken burger. It was edible but not what I was expecting. I would happily pay more for a little more lovely & attention put into the burgers.
Adventures C — Google review
Oh boy they know how to make a good burger, could have used more sauce though. The staff were really nice and friendly, making sure we felt comfortable. Overall, really good place to grab food and drinks after your visit to the art gallery!

Lovely retro space with amazing food. We had the maple spicy chicken wings, fries, strawberry milkshake, and Leon's famous iced tea. The chicken wings were hands down one of the best we've ever tasted. Crunchy but extremely juicy inside. It also paired really well with the ranch that came with it. Highly recommend for anyone coming for a visit! The fries were quite nice as well, crispy but not soggy. Strawberry milkshake was lovely and creamy. Leon's famous iced tea was so good I ordered it twice. It's basically regular sweetened iced tea, but it was really delicious and paired well with the meal. I would recommend all of the items we ordered to anyone. Staff were kind and the space is very cute. Overall 10/10 experience, will be back again if we do visit Bendigo!

Arrived at 6pm on a Friday night and the place was just about full, would suggest going early and don’t recommend for large groups due to table layout. Be ready to wait a little while if arriving peak times. Staff were pleasant, probably a few too many patrons for just 3 waiters/bartenders who were there at the time. The food was simple but very tasty, I had the cheeseburger and fries, as well as a cheeky milkshake. Good tap beers and decent wine selection. Decor and style very well curated too!

Bluebird Patisserie is a charming bakery located in the lively Bull St precinct of Bendigo. It offers a wide array of gluten-free options, including bread and all-day breakfast choices, making it a delightful stop for travelers with dietary preferences. Despite the small size of the shop, it attracts a queue due to its delectable sweet treats like almond croissants and cronuts.
The offerings in Bendigo, for a cheap and cheerful lunch are few and far between. But I’ll definitely be revisiting this cute little patisserie. I had a delicious chicken, cheese and leek pie for lunch and it was delicious. Subtle flavours and a touch of France. Next time I might break the diet for a pastry or two! They were very tempting !

So many delicious sweet options at this patisserie which sits in the heart of Bendigo. Service was a little slow and I don’t know if their system is the most efficient. Totally worth the wait though. The cream filling in my cronut was so tasty and one of the best custard kisses I’ve had in a while. Highly recommend, nothing else like this in Bendigo.

Fantastic dog friendly place with high end cakes and strong coffee. Easy to order from the doorway - with a nervous dog who is getting used to traffic noise. Great place with friendly and helpful staff. Yep, visited twice in a week it was that good.

A touch of France in Bendigo 🇫🇷 Food tastes as good as it looks. Coffee is good too. Very elegant patisserie with friendly staff. Only drawback is that there is currently no indoor seating

I love Bluebird Patisserie and I have been here a few times. Love everything that I’ve eaten here but I do wish that they can label all the pastries and desserts so that it would be easier for me and other customers to choose. The labels would also make it easier for the staff as they don’t have to waste time answering what is this and that.
Syezzy — Google review
Walked past the amazing display of sweet treats on offer. I joined the queue. Yes, there was a queue even with 5 staff in this tiny shop. I had my eye on an almond croissant. Then it happened! The customer in front of me bought both of the remaining croissants! When I was asked what I wanted, I ordered my double shot flat white and expressed my disappointment in missing out on an almond croissant. The owner overheard me and said I could have one out of the oven that were finishing off if I was prepared to wait. I waited. I drank most of my coffee and ate a portugese tart. My croissant arrived, with a warning that it was piping hot. It was everything I expected including the omission of very unnecessary dusting of icing sugar. Yep!! I’ll be back. BTW this place set the benchmark on how fast a coffee can come out to your table and be the right temperature and flavour. 10/10

Had the almond croissant from here and it was yummy would definitely come back here if I was in da area. Yeah you got that yummy yummy yummy yummy yummy. That was in my head when I ate the almond croissant ha ha ma man.

Good coffee and sweet treats. This place gives the impression that its target market is ladies who lunch, not middle aged men looking for a good strong coffee and tasty treat. But it managed to deliver. I’d happily visit again. Good service too.

Out of Order is a coffee shop that focuses on bagels. Everything on the menu, from drinks to pastries, can be eaten on a bagel. The bright and cheery staff make it an inviting place to hang out.
Super good bagels, I took away. The matcha was just insane! And the staff seemed friendly although very focused given the world there was.

Great Experience at Out of Order Café! I had the pleasure of visiting Out of Order, and it was such a great experience! The staff are absolutely lovely and clearly very passionate about their craft. Their attention to detail really stands out, from the way they prepare your coffee to the overall service. It creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to stay longer. I ordered the Breakky Bagel, and it was incredibly delicious and filling. If you’re a bagel lover, this is a must-try! I paired it with a hot cappuccino, which was perfectly brewed. The café also has ample seating, making it a comfortable spot to relax or get some work done. One convenient feature is that you can preorder via their website, making it even easier if you’re in a hurry. The only small drawback was that the door handle was a bit oily, but it’s a minor issue compared to all the positives this place offers. Overall, Out of Order is a wonderful café with great food, excellent coffee, and passionate staff. I’ll definitely be back!
R L — Google review
My review is based on my order - I had the strawberry match and chicken pesto bagel. The strawberry matcha was underwhelming as the matcha was quite weak and could not balance the sweetness of the strawberry jam/puree. The chicken pesto bagel was just okay and a tad of the dry side - both bagel and chicken. I was really excited to try out due to the excellent reviews, so I will give it another go when I'm next in Bendigo to try other items in their menu. Looking forward to updating my review then.
Arthur L — Google review
Cappuccino was excellent but the much exalted bagel, under "Loaded" tag - The Roast with juicy lamb was anything but. Dry, chewy & rather flavourless. Perhaps other choices are better. Welcoming & awesome service 👌🏽. Had lunch Tues 23/9 recently. Easy walk from train station. Few mins walk to busy intersection - iconic Alexandra Fountain, Pall Mall & Rosalind Park.

Had just a basic ham and cheese Bagel seeded tasted great, coffee was nice also and the 2 ladies were nice and friendly, service was quick, definitely worth dropping into. I should have got salt and pepper on mine would have brought the flavour out more but couldn’t fault the food or the coffee.

Awesome bagel! Loaded and flavourful, made fresh. Coffee was good too. Busy in the morning.

Quality of ingredients is obvious. Nice chick bacon and a double serving of American cheese on the breaky bagel. Good show, Out of Order. And thanks so much for having a Gluten Free bagel. It was decent too. Well done.

Love this little place and it’s pumping. The coffee is to die for and the bagels are delicious. There’s a reason they’re going strong and pumping out the coffee on a Sunday morning. Go in snd get the best coffee of your life. Admire the set up too, the owners have invested a lot to give them the best possible work station to produce consistent, delicious coffee. Oh and the turtle is pretty cute too.

Love Shack Brewing Co is a nostalgic tribute to the classic pubs of regional Victoria, offering a cozy and laid-back atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy delicious burgers and fries while sipping on their brews or opt for well-crafted cocktails.
5 Stars! Not only were our beers pretty cool, hubby had the pale ale and I had the IPA , but the grilled chicken burger that we shared was absolutely awesome. At first it looked too small, but the taste certainly made up for it. The American Southern style smokey marinade on the chicken was to die for. My mouth is drooling now, just thinking about it! Pub decor was nice and modern and the staff friendly. Totally recommend.

Ventured out of Melbourne to the wonderful town of Castlemaine. First stop was Love Shack and what a great brewery. Great selection of craft ales, fantastic venue with plenty of seating inside and out, but the stand out for me was the scotch eggs! Yes, scotch eggs on an aussie menu! How wonderful. That were delicious, served with a spicy, sticky fruit and nut mix and an almond sauce. Divine! Crumpets were pretty good too.

Took my octogenarian parents here for a drink and we all loved it. We sat in one of the cosy booths and soaked up the atmosphere, decor and locals popping in and out. We enjoyed a glass of Shiraz, Chardonnay and my dad was very taken with the Love Shack mid strength on tap that had a lovely dark colour. We ordered the butter beans with feta starter for a snack and it was bloody delicious. The lemon zest flavour was incredible. We're now obsessed with trying to replicate it. Only pic we took it was so good!

We dined at 6:00pm on a Monday evening. There were tables available and we were seated immediately. From the outset, we felt welcome in this country style pub. It felt like it had been around forever, such were the trinkets and decorating style, but this is a fairly new establishment. The booths were comfortable, providing the perfect platform for ongoing conversations. The staff were warm and efficient, providing advice and an excellent level of service. We ordered Love Burgers and their delicious simplicity was a delight. The chips were also perfect. The popcorn chicken, when paired with the fried potato salad, was a sensation. We were only popping in, but spent hours here, enjoying the range of beers on tap and the welcoming nature of this establishment. We had the BEST time.

Cute little country pub vibes. I loved the decor and fit out. The bar tenders were lovely and helpful. We didn’t order any food, but we saw some people on the next table eating a cheeseburger that looked incredible!

We absolutely loved our experience at Love Shack Brewery! The food was exceptional – fresh and full of flavor. Drinks were great! The service was super friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. We enjoyed it so much that we came back for both lunch and dinner on the same day – and all meals were outstanding. Highly recommend Love Shack if you’re after great food, great drinks, and great vibes. We’ll definitely be back!

Absolutely fantastic experience at Terrae! Our group of four had entrees, mains, and desserts—every dish was delicious and beautifully presented. Cocktails were great, and the wine list is exceptional. The staff were attentive and friendly throughout. Pixiesaunt — Google review
Our server Arabella was so sweet and charming. The menu was ok and the wine list incredible. Unfortunately our table was in middle of room and a direct line to door and it was a very cold night. It needed more heat! As our mains were served there was a number of diners leaving and the continuous gusts of cold wind cooled our food too quickly… a small negative but details are important. My lamb rump was fantastic as was the zucchini flowers starter. The halloumi and pork belly just ok. Did not have dessert. bill with one green tea and four glasses of wine and a sherry was around $227. Did enjoy would return and recommend but be a little careful with table location.

Exceptional!! Well worth the drive to Bendigo to experience the food and service at Terrae. The roast pumpkin ravioli with braised rabbit was one of the best dishes I have had in a long time. I had to ask for extra bread to soak the remaining jus it was that good. The treacle ginger and pumpkin cake was delicious for desert. Great food, excellent and warm service. Thank you to all involved at Terrae for a wonderful dinner.

If you're craving some Indian cuisine when in Bendigo, head to Food O'Clock Cafe & Indian Restaurant on Mollison Street. You'll be welcomed inside and able to savour the spices of the cuisine with...
The fish tikka and the butter chicken were great! Ordered mild and it was mild. The fish curry cooked in the eastern way was fantastic! The vegetable biryani was also a good quantity and tasty. The owner/head chef and his staff were polite and super accommodating. Great place to eat some good and wholesome Indian food in Bendigo. Enjoyed the mango lassi too!!
Ajith C — Google review
I ordered two mains. A chicken korma (medium) and a mild chicken tikka masala. I did not order any rice or bread which they asked me twice on the phone and in person on pickup. When I said no, the guy made a funny face as if I should be ordering rice with it. This chicken korma was way too SPICY to be medium. I can handle spice and have ordered medium from them plenty of times but this was next level. Upon calling them about the order, they said they would give me my next mains at half price. I had to chuck my order in the bin as I was not able to tolerate the spice level - the amount of chilli in this dish made it unbearable to eat. Went back to the restaurant and they gave me a refund for the food. (It is obvious from these pictures that the curry was way too hot to be considered a medium curry. Look at the amount of chilli on the top. Having ordered plenty of medium curries from food o’clock before, this was a mistake. The fact that you are blaming the customer for the spice level instead of taking on feedback speaks volumes about the way you run your business).

I ordered takeaway from this restaurant and was very disappointed. There was a hair in the curry, which is completely unacceptable and unhygienic. On top of that, the garlic naan was cold and frozen – but nowhere was it mentioned that it wouldn't be fresh. I expected much better quality and honesty. Definitely won’t be ordering again.

By far the best Indian food I’ve eaten. The naan bread, the saffron rice & every dish I’ve eaten was full of flavour & delicious. Offers meat, fish, vegetable & vegan dishes. It’s my go to Indian restaurant. You must try to really appreciate the love they put into their cooking.

Ordered the food for takeaway and had a really bad experience with taste and packaging. Instead of packing the food in the and they just put in the cardboard box for takeway. I think we paid enough money at least deserved to have the takeway bag. Taste was not really good, though it felt like they just heated up the frozen food.

While I have had good meals and cocktails here in the past, last Saturday's experience was a big disappointment. I'd booked online for myself and two friends from out of town, promising them a great meal (which they had, but not at the Brougham Arms!) On checking in, the young waitress told us we'd be seated in the (overcrowded) bar (not what we expected), despite booking for the restaurant five days prior. Then she found us a table with two stools (there were three of us) and told us we'd have to find a third stool ourselves. What the!? Then when i enquired at the bar about ordering from the restaurant menu, i was told 'no'. But the positive is, we left and had a lovely meal, with attentive service, at GPO.

We came here for dinner with my family around 7:30pm Our food and drink order was taken for 4 adults and 1 child. Our drinks arrived as they normally would but our food was taking a little longer, waiting around 30-40 minutes. We ask the waiter to check on our order, which he did, then came out to tell us that the docket hadn’t printed in the kitchen. There was an error with their system. Everyone else seemed to get their food but us so that excuse sounds all too convenient. The kitchen was closed at this stage and our food wasn’t coming including my child’s meal. The only remediation was that they could cook my child’s meal, we didn’t have to pay for our one round of drinks, and a bottle of wine. I didn’t want wine, I wanted a solution. How is it that the waiter didn’t even attend our table for since delivering our drinks? Very poor service. Would not recommend and will be avoiding in future.

Nestled on the edge of Lake Weeroona, Whitby Bendigo, also known as The Boardwalk, offers a picturesque setting for dining and events. The modern decor and outdoor seating provide a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy breakfast, sandwiches, and salads. Visitors can relax with their furry friends on the spacious outdoor deck while savoring delectable dishes like smashed avocado and fluffy pancakes.
This venue is a true gem. The food is consistently beautiful, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the views are lovely. The staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming, from the moment you walk in to the cheerful wave goodbye as you leave. The portion sizes are generous, and the meals are clearly made with care and attention to detail. On one visit, there was a small mistake with my order, and the staff couldn’t have been more apologetic. They quickly fixed it and even took the initiative to offer a complimentary coffee, which honestly wasn’t necessary, but such a thoughtful gesture. We keep coming back, not just for the food, but for the level of service that really stands out. Some say the prices are a little higher than other local spots, but you're paying for quality: attentive service, a beautiful venue, carefully prepared and large portioned food, and a relaxing ambience with lovely views. They also offer fantastic vegan and gluten-free options, hands down one of the best vegan breakfasts in town. It’s fast become our go-to café, and we recommend it to everyone we know.

A lovely surprise. We were in Bendigo for the day with no thoughts about where to lunch, after a quick Google search chose Whitby for ease of parking and somewhere to walk the dog, as well as some enticing menu options. We were very pleased that the dog was welcome on the deck along with a doggie menu. Can highly recommend the mushroom ragu. The staff were also very attentive and friendly.
Peggy H — Google review
Like others have said, everything about this place was incredible. The last time my family of four visited this venue it was operated by a different cafe which was really great. So, having seen the change to Whitby's, we were initially apprehensive, wondering if we'd get the same great food and service. Well, we got a lot more than that. I've never experienced such genuine and efficient service before. The level of organisation and teamwork that was displayed made sure we were warmly welcomed, orders secured and food given in no time! The food was also on another level, the Waffles and the Benedict were amongst the tastiest of meals we've had. As stated by others, yes it is a little bit more costly than other options. But for a venue where both the service and food is exceptional, paired with lake views, it's definitely worth it.

From the moment I stepped into Whitby in Bendigo, I was impressed. The service was exceptional – warm, attentive, and professional from start to finish. It really set the tone for a fantastic dining experience. The food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. Every dish was fresh, generously portioned, and reasonably priced. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they serve. What really elevated the experience was the setting. I sat out on the deck overlooking the lake, and the view was simply stunning, especially on the clear, sunny day I visited. It’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy great food in a beautiful atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back – and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Whitby to anyone looking for a great meal and top-notch service in Bendigo!

The service was spectacular! Staff was friendly, accomodating and polite. We felt welcome. They are very inclusive. I loved that I could bring my dog. They had dog treats. We sat down out in deck. The view was stunning. Food had high quality ingredients. It didn’t come out quickly. But it was worth it. Good conversations. I would definitely recommend it. The only thing that could make it even better is to have prep food for the dogs. As the only stock treats. Thank you!

Lovely setting with thoughtful service! This café offers a beautiful view and a serene, relaxing ambiance—perfect for a quiet meal or coffee break. The waiter who looked after us was exceptionally polite and helpful, especially when guiding us on portion sizes, which we really appreciated as we try to avoid food waste. The coffee was enjoyable. We tried the calamari and the chicken salad—while the calamari wasn’t quite to our taste, the salad was fresh. Though the food didn’t completely wow us, the atmosphere and genuine hospitality make it a place I’d happily return to.

It has to be said that if a Hotel brings in its clientele through it's restuarant quality, then this place is a gem. A great find in Bendigo that really punches above its weight. We really enjoyed our meals here, which were Crispy pork belly and Flathead.

Brought family 2 adult 3 children , here on a Monday, looked at the menu, kid’s meals are well priced, good service , kids meals were served with in 5mins, but the potion is tiny, and when i say tiny i mean it , as a chef myself working in hospitality industry, i have never seen kids meal that small, countable chips on the plate came with nuggets, ended up ordering 3 spaghetti bolognaise for one child, in stead of 1 serve same price kids meal any other pub in town, so be mindful if you’re bringing a hungry child over, you either need to order an adult meal to feed a 7 years old kid, or prepare to go to maccas after this.

If you're in the mood for some tasteful Aussie pub fare with great service and a relaxing outdoor area, The Rifle is your go-to spot. The Elvis From Graceland exhibition is an added bonus!
On a cold winter evening on our first night in Bendigo, we walked the dog past the Rifle and decided to have a quick drink (we were going to sit outside on View street). Asked the bar staff if there was anywhere else to sit with our dog. They suggested the outdoor area out the back of the hotel. Xavier offered to guide us, opened the side gate, then retrieved a heater to keep us warm. It was an unexpected and brilliant experience and we were made to feel very welcome. We then stayed for dinner of a pulled pork burger and steak sandwich - both delicious. Excellent and warming experience on a cold Bendigo night. Many thanks.

Ordered a chicken parma and fish and chips for lunch. Loved that they both came with a good serving of vegetables and salad (the bok choy was a nice surprise!) Pricing was reasonable and overall portion sizes were decent. Service was a bit slow to start as our order didn’t get taken for about 15 - 20 minutes. However food came out quickly once we ordered.

Lovely little pub for lunch. Dined in the outdoor area with our 2 year old grandson. Lots of room to run around safely. Calamari was tender and tasty. Spicy pizza was pretty great. Base was alot thicker than I usually like so just ate the topping. Really enjoyed the jalapeno aioli.

We were recommended to dine at this pub. On entering, it had a really good atmosphere and we were quickly attended too. The food though was very disappointing though. I ordered a chicken schnitzel with vegetables and chips. Plenty of chips but I thought that the vegetables were a bit light on. I can accept that but disappointingly, the vegetables were cold, quite cold in fact with hardly any warmth. This was pointed out to the waiter who said that he would pass it on. I then ordered the ice cream, expecting a bit of variety, not just four scoops of vanilla ice cream with no topping. A little bit of thought with the ice cream could go a long way. Having said that, with one other customer, I had to wait for around five minutes before anyone attended to serve at the top bar. Overall, the place has good atmosphere but the food let it down for us.

Went to the Rifle last night before a show at the capital. The place was packed and we hadn't booked. The young lady who served us did everything she could to accommodate. Found us a table, handled our order promptly, checked on us, gave us updates on our orders progress and made sure we had plenty of time to eat and make our show. The customer service was outstanding, in particular given how busy it was. Thank you so much for your care and service.

Went to go have drinks with friends, we sat out in the courtyard as inside was way too crowded and loud to be comfortable with no seating available. we were informed there would be heaters, prior to our arrival but then there weren't, and they only give heats to a booked event and refused to bring out any more. The most disappointing thing I'd say about the practice of this business is they don't measure their drinks and are extremely weak, obviously as a way to rake in more money and get people to buy more drinks wanting to get tipsy with friends, hence why we were there. Usually it takes me between 3-4 drinks to be properly tipsy, I ended up buying 7 and wasn't tipsy at all the entire night. My recommendation, if you're going don't by mixed at the bar drinks and stick to beer and wine.
Erin O — Google review
There was over 20 of us there and the meals were great.
Jenny L — Google review
Good atmosphere and renovated tastefully but the food was very ordinary. Went as a group of four and had steak, fish and chicken dishes and unfortunately, all were over cooked and very ordinary. For the prices of the food and quality would class as very disappointing. The service was friendly and good but the food lets this place down, unfortunately. Had the porterhouse, salman and chicken but all disappointing, sorry to say.

Had Chilli Chicken. Soo good. Tho I ordered the wrong rice (Kashmiri Rice) which is too sweet for the dish. Should've gone with saffron rice. But be warn, the portion is massive (contrary to other Asian restaurant in town), so bring a buddy.

This is a great Indian restaurant we visited last Friday at very busy time due to long weekend and school holidays. I have to give you a special review. We five families visited there after finishing our holiday outing. We had 7 kids who wanted fries kind fast foods. Friendly staff of Curry Garden allowed our kids to eat foods brought from outside restaurant. Arranged plates for them and a large table during such a busy time. All our families enjoyed delicious food from your menu and friendly services of you. Recommend as one of best Indian restaurants in Bendigo.

Pizza and pasta restaurant. Friendly staff. Casual vibe. My friend said it was the best lasagna he had ever had. My chicken avocado pasta was delicious, creamy sauce and lots of chicken and avocado chunks. Generous serves. The music was a bit too loud so everyone had to talk loudly.

Lovely staff and food, just very cold inside with all the fans. The pasta was amazing besides the raw baby carrots on top that seemed to ruin it. The BBQ meat lover pizza had lots of topping.

If service is anything to go by this place was terrible. Came in and was seated no water no menues. Waited several minutes before getting our own menues from another table then waited for the waiter to come take out order 4/5 servers kept walking past is and none of them stopped to take our order after waiting over 10 minutes. We just left. Disappointing since the place did smell good

It was a wonderful experience dining here. The food was absolutely delicious — the pizzas were among the best I’ve had, even better than many popular pizzerias in Melbourne such as Domino’s and Smokin’ Joe’s. The pasta was just as impressive, full of flavor and perfectly cooked. The restaurant maintained excellent hygiene, and the staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Overall, almost everything was close to perfect, and I would definitely recommend this place.

Very friendly prompt service. Lovely menu & great prices. Ordered Tuscan Chicken & it was amazing. Chicken breast was tender. A night out for dinner with a bunch of colleagues all new to Bendigo. The service was great, it was just unfortunate that several menu items were unavailable due to being sold out. Not expected for a Thursday evening but not being familiar with the area, this could be normal? Friend’s dishes all looked great and said they were tasty. I opted for the Pad Thai without the chilli, was accommodated easily, and the dish was delicious. A good place for a small group or large gathering such as ours as it had a very relaxed atmosphere.

Great pub food, and to chill out and have a drink with family/friends. staff are great and friendly. Staff can get a bit overwhelmed as few times been there where short staffed mostly and there were a lot of diners to attend, not really their fault. So if it was busy just be patient with the staff.

Let me start by saying I understand there were parties booked, however it was very loud in the bistro and my wife and I could barely converse. The food was absolutely fantastic, I had a medium scotch fillet with pepper gravy and wife had the mixed grill. My only criticism with the food is the veggies were over spiced. I love hot food myself but there were too spicy. Steak was cooked to perfection and the roast spud was to die for. Value for money and worth ever cent.

Had a dinner with family. Drinks menu was nice with variety of selection. Nice ambience, nice and friendly staff, food menu is nice, need a bit of help from Thai food veterans or the staff. They were helpful in choosing the dishes. Nice food could not enjoy all the way as I am not a Thai food expert but lived it. We ordered a family deal which came with variety of starters, stir fry beef, noodles, white rice, chicken curry in coconut and so many. The washrooms are located upstairs so not really friendly for physical challenges. Clean wash rooms. Loved the heritage building and the Thai way of decorating it. Overall a great experience.

It was Tuesday when a group of us went to Bunja Thai Restaurant for lunch. A couple of us had the special for the day which was Bunja's style fried rice with chicken and vegetables. The meal was flavourful and really hit the spot. It is also worth mentioning the lovely heritage building which added to the atmosphere and to our experience. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service was quick. Well done to the team!

Dined at Bunja Thai for dinner. It has an uplifting feel from the moment I saw it outside to walking inside of this old Colonial Bank. Really cool to see the old bank vault on display too. The staff were warm and inviting and recommended a few dishes. We had a selection including the Hung Lay pork belly curry, chicken Pad Thai, prawn Tom yum and Hor Mok seafood stir-fry in young coconut. The food was nice, and you can taste the ingredients which are fresh. Overall it lacked depth of flavour and the wow factor. The Hor Mok seafood was didn't have much seafood, and was cooked within a mushy thick paste. The Tom yum soup had some seafood, small and again lacked punch of flavour. The pad Thai was good. Maybe the flavour profiles are attuned to where the chef's are from. I'm used to a mouth full of many flavours and punch at my favourite Thai restaurant. But, having said that it was a good meal. The ambience and atmosphere were worth it. The beef curry was average, not tender. Felt like a braised beef stew rather than curry. Was inconvenient that some people were unable to go to the rest rooms located up the stairs due to limited mobility.

Our trip away in Bendigo has come to an end on our second last dinner meal and it was time to try something different. Quick look in Google reviews and Bunja Thai looked good. Once we entered, we were hoping that the food tasted and looked as good as the interior of this beautiful building. Our food was delicious, service was good. I had the yellow curry with chicken, and the Mrs had the red curry with beef.

Date / time of visit: 7 February 2023 @ 6:15pm (approx) Stunning venue. Excellent quality food. Flavours were a fresh experience from my previous experiences of Thai food. The Boa buns had wonderfully cooked pork. The Peking duck pancakes had lovely Thai flavours and the duck had a good crispy taste. Two mains were ordered and serving sizes were good. Both mains had great chilli heat that made the tongue tingle nicely. We didnt find the dishes too hot but some might. When we arrived there weren't too many patrons but the crowd size slowly grew. Maybe ok for walk ins without reservation early in the week (like us), maybe book for later in the week. Prices were good. Quality great. Staff great. A happy dining experience.

Meal was great, we were told full table service, yet we had to go to the bar to order our drinks. This place has a reputation for delivering good food and this visit just confirms it. Place was packed but staff managed to get us in for a table of two. Good menu, good prices with a special board. Staff were friendly and sociable. This is a quality pub that has that country feel. You'll see tradies in flouro having a beer after work in the main bar and tourists, visitors and locals filling the seats for a meal. Prices were appropriate and the food was delivered by happy staff and we did not have to wait too long. Amazing food and great service, staff were all very friendly and the food came out very quickly considering it was still busy with dine in and takeaway customers. Offers inside and outside dining areas. Good variety of meals and massive tea menu. Food excellent 👌 l had the Chai Tea and also the Mushroom breakfast with tomatoes as an extra. It doesn't get any better than this cafe.

A return visit to this little corner store with a big "local" vibe! Had sweet potato fritters-delicious and crispy! Coffee is excellent. Tea selection is amazing! I loved that my lemon grass and ginger tea came with a brewing timer! The sweet cabinet looked awesome, but I dare not look too hard as I am trying to be "good" and I would have had zero resistance! Friendly and quick service as we sat in the window seat with the winter sun streaming in warming heart and soul!

Travelling through Bendigo to Queensland and really needed a good breakfast. This place was recommended to us by a local, so we stopped in. Staff were friendly and efficient and the food and coffee were all delicious, beautifully presented and well priced.

Service was off, very young untrained staff. A foreboding man with a stealthy glare watched the young junior while she took our orders nervously. She obviously hadn’t set a table before. I have an aversion to runny yolk so asked for it medium. Was told abruptly it was either hard or soft. Egg was so hard it took force to cut it and it was inedible. See pics. Rest of meal was adequate but the vibe was really off.

We had a lovely breakfast here in June 2025. It's be favourite coffee shop of my best friends whenever they travel to Bendigo for many years and of course, it's on my lists to visit, too 🤗

A lovely place for breakfast or lunch on a delightful suburban street in Bendigo. I came for brunch on a sunny Sunday afternoon. We were seated in the window and had our coffee and food orders taken straight away. The place was busy with people seated outside the front and in the courtyard out the back. There were plenty of staff to attend to everyone and we received our coffees relatively quickly. The coffees and food were very well presented and fantastic quality. The prices are also very reasonable. Highly recommended!

Me and my mum went here for brunch a this morning. We came here for a late breakfast (duh) and when I walked in, I was honestly disappointed. I looked at the reviews and they looked pretty good, but the atmosphere wasn't great. It almost had no personality and almost dated. it was Friday morning (My school had day off) so there was only about 3 or so other pairs of people there. We were seated by a young girl pretty quickly, and she was nice. So then we got meals and waited a reasonable 10-15 minutes, but it was so noisy. Instead of there being only 2 or 3 pairs of other people it sounded like 20 people. So that bought my experience down a little. However, it was almost worth it when the meals came. My meal is the one in the picture: it was a apple and cinnamon pancake, and it was so GOOD! But so filling omg! I was stuffed lol but it was super yum! Then after we left we said bye and all the other staff said bye too even though we don't know them because we have only gone there once before, but I still reckon it was really nice.

Nestled within the expansive All Seasons Resort Hotel, Seasons Bistro is a vibrant dining spot that promises quick service and delightful meals. On Schnitzel night, the atmosphere buzzes with excitement as guests enjoy generous portions accompanied by a variety of sauces, salad, and chips. The friendly and professional staff ensure a pleasant experience for all diners. Families will appreciate the dedicated kids' play area while adults can indulge in fantastic lunch specials like the $10 Chicken Parma or spicy Portuguese chicken skewers.
Quick service here. It was Schnitzel night and the place was jumping. Being great value, we decided to call in for a meal at the Bistro of the All Seasons Resort Hotel, a very large accommodation venue with many function, gaming and meals areas plus a Poker machine zone. The service was quick, the Schnitzels came with a choice of sauces salad and chips and was very tasty. The staff were friendly, efficient and professional. What more can you ask for? Well done to the team, we shall return.

We enjoyed the kids play area and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Some issues with meals, steak not to our liking (ordered medium rare, got medium well for the 2 steaks we ordered) this was dealt with by the staff. We returned twice during our visit for the play area alone and the second time the Parmigiana and fresh seafood basket were good.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME, OR RISK THE HEALTH OF YOUR FAMILY! there is nothing I can recommend about this place, we were staying at the resort so thought we would just eat at the bistro, we made a booking for two adults, we were put next to the play room and a very noisy game, kids running past us almost running into my chair, when I pointed out that it is impossible for us to have social distancing from others while sitting at that table, I explained that I have a daughter at home who has cancer and I need to be careful not to take home a bug that could make her very sick, and that social distancing is very important to me, the staff member just fobbed me off and said well do you want another table then, I pointed out that the table we were sitting on shouldn't be there in the first place due to social distancing regulations, and if they had another table available, why would they put a couple right next to the play room?, This was last night, the table was still there this morning, so I pointed out the issue to one of the managers, who said thanks for the feed back I'll pass that on to another manager....... I asked him why he couldn't move the table, he replied with it wasn't his job, what a lazy cop out. people are becoming to complacent about covid, I will never eat or stay at another restaurant associated with All seasons resort, we left without even ordering a meal, pick up your covid standards Fortunes, it's just not good enough!

Spent $110 dollars on pizza for my son’s birthday today. Not much open being Easter Monday but found Jo Jo’s was. Get pizza and mould in garlic Bread and a part of pizza. Pizza shot nit taken as already half eaten but couldn’t get a good photo. Mould on garlic bread clear however.

Used to be good, but sadly has lost its way. Food is hit and miss, and the service is consistently bad. Tried them again 17/8/2024 through menu log. Pizza was raw, lasagna was days old and was just noodles with nothing between, carbonara smelled really weird so didn't bother even trying it. Trying to get a refund through menu log.
Allan T — Google review
Hadn’t visited jojoes restaurant for a few years, and it’s now obvious the ownership has changed. The new owners, with a different cultural background, seem out of touch with the expectations of running an authentic Italian restaurant. The quality has dropped significantly compared to when it was a thriving business. The pizzas are now thinner and lesser Quality dough, the bases resembles more of a frozen pizza base. The sauce tastes like basic jarred tomato paste, and toppings are minimal. While waiting and watching my pizza being prepared, I noticed the manager made a comment to the worker that there was too much topping and even made him remove some. It was also noted that no gloves were being worn when handling toppings. The manager would wait on tables, handling menus, drinks, and the cash register, then go straight back to handling pizza toppings without washing hands. It’s clear the new management has taken a cost-cutting approach at the expense of quality but still charging high. The care, tradition, and authenticity that once defined this place are no longer there. At closed to $30 for a large pizza better off with the traditional Italian style wood fired pizza at Stella’s.

***Overpriced & Underwhelming*** Five years ago, Jojoe’s Pizza was one of my go-to spots. The food was fantastic — flavorful sauce, generous toppings, and a crust that had real substance. Sadly, my recent visit was a harsh reminder that not all places age well. I’ve since discovered that Jojoe’s is under new management, and it shows. The pizza was nothing like what I remembered. The base was so thin it was practically non-existent — barely 1mm thick and completely unable to support the toppings (what little there were). The sauce was plain tomato paste, completely lacking seasoning, and the toppings were incredibly sparse. For a pizza this bare-bones, the high price tag was baffling. To add insult to injury, a 10% public holiday surcharge plus a card surcharge combined with already inflated prices just made the entire experience extremely poor value. $33.25 for one large pizza (not family) with a scabby amount of topping is simply outrageous. At that price, would it really kill you to add a decent amount of topping? What was once a standout neighborhood pizzeria now feels like a shadow of its former self — cutting corners where it counts most. I won’t be returning. It’s not the pizza I remembered, and it’s definitely not worth the price. Let’s be real — Dominos can do better for a fraction of the cost!
Kellie — Google review
This visit to Jojoes was, to say the least, disappointing. We usually visit each year with students on our excursion to the Australian Sheep & Wool Show, and previously, the food has been good. This time, the meals were small and not very flavoursome. Soft drink was $7.50 a glass.

Went to have dinner for granddaughters birthday because that’s where she wanted to go there was a total of 6 adults and 3 children aged 7,9,10 food was good and its advertised children eat free from Sunday to Thursday but that didn’t worry us as much if the food was good but what I found interesting was one child ordered nuggets and silly us thought most likely you would get a small amount of chips with meal as well but no the meal came and there was 5 nuggets plus an apple juice pop top drink and that’s it all for the price of $ 14.90 none of the kids had dessert was a choice of frog in pond and ice cream but dairy allergy which didn’t worry the kids but discount wasn’t offered for no dessert All the adults enjoyed their meals no complaints there but must admit the kids were still hungry .

I have been to jojo’s in Bendigo many times in the past it was always great taking little kids there.. .. I don’t know if it’s changed hands or just struggled with competition, but Thursday Lunch time was the worst pizza we have ever been served. The photos will show you that they literally swimming in liquid.. you couldn’t pick it up.. I attempted to use cutlery but it was just too gross.. my son had the Aussie pizza he tried to eat one bit but then said (sorry I just can’t it’s disgusting) I then noticed it had clumps of raw egg whites on it. I had vegetarian pizza, also sitting in liquid. My daughters meat lovers, the same soggy sitting in liquid. I will say though, on a positive note the girls including the cook were lovely. The 2 young girls should be praised for being sweet. I would never treat them badly over something that wasn’t their fault. The girl did a good job on the drinks… at pay time One of the girls asked me if everything was ok,, I don’t usually complain but I thought they are going to see we hardly touched the pizzas..So I told them they were really bad, and the reason why.. they both listened and agreed what I was saying was true and gave me my sons for nothing…but still cost $59 so that’s top $$$. I feel it’s so wrong to have a business you expect customers to pay top dollar but can’t provide top food!! I know you can do better.

The Cantina Mexican restaurant in Bendigo is a hip and trendy space with exposed brick, booth seating and cool Day of the Dead projections. The menu features hand-pressed soft-shell corn tacos and burritos, along with tortas. The staff are lovely, attentive and helpful, and the food is standard mexican fare that is impressively fresh and tasty. There are a variety of wines by the glass available, as well as an impressive selection of tequila.
We loved this place. Lovely staff and deliciously fresh food. We came at a quiet time, Sunday 12p.m The service was perfect. The mojito jug was lovely. The cantina fries with chipotle were perfectly fried. The deep fried jalapenos were moreish. The grilled prawn quesadilla was perfection. The grilled fish tacos were divine. We are so glad we read a few good reviews & gave this place a try. We will definitely be back when next in Bendigo.

We thought the food was really great, but they brought everything out at once rather than staggering. Which means you rush eating or your eating cold food. Service wasn't great, no one was being attentive we had to grab someone to order drinks, then were.not asked again and our drinks were forgotten so we had to ask again half way throughout our meal. They did apologise which was nice, but kind of doesn't help when you have a rare date night and are in and out in 30min due to lack of service and food all placed at once. The restaurant itself is freezing, so you have to eat with your jacket on. Ordered take away for my birthday last year, might just stick to take away if I want to go back.

Had a great experience here. The food was fantastic and the Ladd is very children friendly (even has a play area at the back). The fried jalapeños was something to brag about and the... you know what, everything we ordered was great, hard to fault. Maybe wish the serving was bigger :p

Front of house service staff get 5 stars. They are young, but they are switched on and did everything possible to make my dining experience enjoyable and met my requests with enthusiasm. I can't rate them highly enough as their level of professionalism and ensuring efficient delivery of orders. What let this place down was back of house, both literal back area and staff. The corridor and toilet area was a little less clean and comfortable than what I'm used to when dining out. Even being what I would assume is a busy night, the chef hadn't prepped the item I ordered, so it couldn't be ordered by anyone. I had to reconfigure my meal, which was easily accomplished. I also ordered a takeaway churros with both sauces. The chocolate was not a luscious milk chocolate, but kind of a darker taste. What was really unforgiveable though was the caramel (or what is usually a form of dulce de leche, dolce de leite, aka cooked condensed milk) - it had been watered down into a thin runny liquid. A watery churros sauce is something you never want to experience or have served to you, trust me. So whether that was the owner or chef's decision, it needs to stop.

The Hotel Shamrock, a 19th-century palatial hotel in Bendigo, offers warm rooms and suites along with on-site dining venues including a restaurant, cafe, and sports bar. Conveniently located just 900m from Bendigo, the hotel is adjacent to Rosalind Park and close to attractions like Bendigo Bowling Centre and The Capital. The air-conditioned guest rooms feature modern amenities while retaining the historical charm of the Victorian building built in 1854.
We stayed in a small standard room which was perfect for what we needed. Reception and bar staff were warm, friendly and funny. Aswell as incredibly helpful. This entire place has so much character and charm. The ambient sounds of the traffic going past didn't bother us and reminded us our city stay in London. Great coffee and breakfast. This will be a regular stay for us.

Heritage hotel in the best location. We stayed 2 nights, the room was clean & warm, great bathroom, the staff were friendly, readily accessible and helpful. We loved the grandeur & sense of history. Yes areas of the building are showing their age. Some of the furnishings are slightly worn and yes we needed to park off site, in the secure parking area which was just a short walk to the Shamrock hotel, but all in all a great stay! The dinning area, was clean, the staff members working there were helpful, happy and friendly. We enjoyed a choice of breakfast each morning and had an enjoyable dinner there. We look forward to returning.

Loved my stay at Hotel Shamrock! The building itself is stunning with its vintage architecture, right in the centre of Bendigo so you can walk everywhere. Extremely disappointing experience for $200 per night on a work trip. Was provided a room not in the actual hotel but ushered to one around the side that had direct street access. It appeared to be an old shop that had been made into a room with 1990s decor. The room was extremely noisy, drafty and felt very exposed to street level. Every truck, bus, car and pedestrian was audible and unsettling. There was not desk to work on. Totally overpriced and outright dated. Was a 2 star motel at best. An absolute rip off and would not recommend.

An outstanding heritage building - a significant part of the colonial streetscape of Bendigo. The centrality of its location is a very important aspect of the property. The staff were very friendly, helpful and courteous and made us feel very welcome. The restaurant food was excellent, as was the service. The facilities were good - the room spacious and quiet. Parking was conveniently located and very reasonably priced. The only comment one can make is that the old lady is now a bit tired in places - the last major refit was in the early 1980s and this is starting to show - but otherwise, a great place.
Joseph J — Google review
Didn't stay in the hotel, but visited for dinner. It was a reservation with a large group of people. All the facilities were run down, menu's very much need updating. Tried ordering the apple crumble but was told they no longer served it and instead they had the apple Danish. I'm surprised they hadn't even crossed out on the menus and just let customers think they have it. Waitress wasn't overly friendly either. I ordered the Parma for dinner and it was average, a bit dry and bland. I was expecting good things from the place, I've never been before but from what I've heard it has/had a good reputation. I'm not sure what happened but it unfortunately didn't live up to the hype tonight.

Booked a table for a large group (25) on a Saturday night for dinner at 7pm. When we arrived around 6:45, they’d only set aside a table for around half of the number we’d booked for, and had to try and rearrange to fit us all in. The food wasn’t great - Pasta dishes were fairly bland and the roast was a small portion, but on the plus side the cheesy garlic bread was a hit, as were the apple crumble and brownies on the dessert menu. At 9pm we were asked to move into the sports bar as the bistro was closing. We had around 12 of us left at that stage, and were looking to continue drinking and talking for at least another hour or two. However two of our members were u18 and were told they couldn’t enter the sports bar. We all had drinks in hand that we’d purchased in the bistro and were standing in the foyer being told we couldn’t reenter the bistro cause it was closing, but we couldn’t all move to the sports bar due to the two who were u18. Security then told we had to move from the foyer as weren’t allowed to stay there - even though we just wanted to finish our drinks before leaving the venue. It was very akward and the security guard made us feel like we’d done something wrong. Some of our party ended up abandoning their drinks to leave the venue, while some moved into the sports bar to finish their drinks before they also left. It wasn’t a very nice ending to the night.

Booked a table on a busy night during the Frida Kahlo exhibit at the Art Gallery. Wait staff were personable and helpful, getting my wife cocktails without ice on a very cold evening. We started with some delicious stuffed jalapenos, then my wife had mushroom taquitos, and I had the beef combination. They kindly fulfilled my wish to leave off the mexi-rice and give me extra frijoles instead.I asked for some siracha or tabasco hot sauce and they don't have it, so I ordered a side of jalapenos. The combination with taquito, taco and enchilda was good, but could have been improved with a more generous amount of chile relleno sauce on the enchilada, and it would have been nice if served on a heated plate, rather than a cold one. The taco shell crumbled when I picked it up, which means it wasn't heated before fillings were added. Little things that would make a good meal fantastic!

Food was delicious and fresh! Frozen margaritas were yummy, decent size and not watered down. The atmosphere was a bit too noisy and 'family-friendly' for what I was after. But we still had a nice meal. The wait staff were attentive and friendly. Would go back, but maybe a book a bit later in the evening to avoid the family crowd. (We went at 6.00-6.30ish).

SHAME ON House of Khong. THE most revolting Chinese style meal I have ever seen and tasted. Cost cutting in ingredients at an all-time low in the restaurant business. The smallest leanest anorexic unpalatable prawn toast of all time. Nothing special about the special fried rice. The scarcity of tasteless minuscule carrot cubes, a few pieces of corn and few red specks the size of desiccated coconut (who knows what that was). No spring onion, no egg and nothing else that makes it a ‘special’ fried rice. I got excited when I found a solitary shrivelled green pea. Oh there was three shrimp pressed on top! Lucky me. The lemon chicken in thick oily batter. The chicken tasted funky like past its date and tough like it had been rolled over by a truck. Was that yummy tangy thick lemon sauce? No no no! It was like water with lemon cordial added. This meal was so vile, that I wanted to give this feedback. Nothing resembling their photos. Take away for me is a special rare treat and what I received was a con.

Update August 2024 Great service at lightning speed. The Chicken and salad was just excellent. Well done to the team. Fast, flavourful and filling. The extremely quick and efficient service caught me a little off guard trying to take photos for this review. I had my chicken with garlic sauce and fresh salad meal in about 60 seconds (probably less) from ordering to ready to go. The team are very professional, friendly and welcoming. The staff also seem very happy to be there to so this in itself adds to the experience. I ordered a small pack, and you could easily get two meals out this. The food is brilliant here! The kebab I ordered came in fresh Turkish pita, the salad was crisp and ripe in all the right ways. The chips were light, crisp and golden with just the right amount of seasoning. Even the service was friendly and efficient and prices quite reasonable. Great job guys.

Feeling a bit pekish as we wondered around Bendigo. We felt like kebabs and got a selection of the lamb kebab, this was a little too salty for me. However, the mixed and chicken kebab was great. Along with a large serve of chips was fantastic and a drink.

One must try this place if you are in Bendigo. Delicious HSP. Best priced HSP compared to Melbourne. Medium HSP price $14. Seating facilities outside.

Food incredible! Wish I had taken a photo of it but dove in straight away! Tasted as good as it looked! Coffee great! Thank you Jasmin for your welcoming, friendly service and the incredible food suggestions! Will be back!

This is not my first visit ☺️😉 the team at Spring Gully General store are always in the ball, meals served quickly and good coffee. The place has a great vibe and is especially lovely on a sunny day outside.

We are eating here right now and I couldn’t wait to finish my meal to write a review. Often overlooked on any menu the Fruit toast is the star of this show. The texture of a toasted cloud. The first bite and every bite to follow is an explosion of flavour to my taste buds. My husband ordered the Eggs Benedict with Bacon to say he inhaled his meal is an understatement. We are passing through town and live 4 hours away. We will now be making the 4 hour trip regularly just to eat here and be surrounded by these wonderful flavours.

This place is a must visit for people who enjoy great food and coffee. I have been here a couple of times now and it never fails to impress me with the hospitality and quality of the food. Coffee and food are really great but the service is also bang on for a good breakfast or brunch I’d say get out there and try it, you won’t be disappointed.

Love this place, great location just on the southern outskirts of Bendigo, great for a coffee pick up heading into or out of town. Adam and staff always a pleasure to chat to and prompt with quality service. Great for breakfast, brunch and lunch too with a seasonal menu and lots of ingredients grown on site. Definitely a favourite amongst the growing crop of terrific culinary options in Bendigo and the region.

Always a very positive experience coming here for a anything - a coffee, a slice or a full on meal. Solid service and delicious food on offer all round. Their menu has vegetarian options, gluten free choices and a fair bit of variety. They also make a fair few of their menu items and slices themselves and all of them are delicious. (My personal favourite is their carrot cake)

There's clearly been a management change of some description. Wait staff are overall very friendly but seemingly a little disorganised or under some sort of duress from the kitchen. Seated and drinks ordered, 10mins later drinks arrive but told it's too busy to order food for another 5 minutes? Not sure what difference it will make if there's a ticket there sooner or later but ok. Order 15 mins later and get our food about 30 mins after that (2 pretty basic dishes off the menu). Both dishes arrive overcooked to the point of being just below burnt. Dishes that were dependable and familiar for so long have clearly been amended and not for the better. The fried chicken burger that was once a staple is now dry and tasteless with very little going for it. Fried bordering on blackened is the unexaggerated truth. Overall it's not that it's a bad place but it seems obvious that the kitchen need to pull their heads in a bit. I'd be happy go there for a coffee. Hopefully they get back to basics soon and sort it out. Maybe I just got them on a bad day? UPDATE : front of house staff were friendly and efficient, could not fault them at all. Hot drinks came out quickly and were fine. Kitchen appears to have gone backwards again though. The friend chicken burger was like nothing I have ever seen. The chicken was literally the thickness of a slice of ham. There was more seasoning than there was chicken. Could this be due to the current supply chain issue surrounding poultry? If so then please just take it off the menu, this was a huge disappointment (see photos). Also the kids serve of ricotta pancakes appears to have shrunk and was quite dry (if the kids are leaving them on the plate to just eat the ice cream you know something is up). Overall was a sadly disappointing experience.

Having not seen each other in some time, a group of us caught up for a meal at the Spring Gully General Store. We had booked a table for Brunch and we were seated promptly. Coffee orders were taken as we waited for one of our party to arrive. We told our original server this, as we wanted to order our meals at the same time and together. There is a fine line between good service and over enthusiastic service; we were asked if we were ready to order several times by several different servers in a very short space of time, even though we were still waiting on a friend to attend. This got a bit embarrassing and we were starting to feel pressured to order. All of us finally together, we ordered, meals were ok coffee good, but my Eggs benedict with smoke salmon was cold. The venue was great, atmosphere was good, dining available inside and out. Overall we did feel pressured to order when we weren’t ready, which really took the shine off our experience.
