1El Gallo Altanero

Bar
Nestled above a chic coffee shop in an old house, El Gallo Altanero is a top spot in Guadalajara for tequila and mezcal cocktails, as well as tastings of local spirits. Owned by Nick Reid and his wife Lupita, who relocated from Australia to pursue their passion for tequila, this vibrant bar aims to showcase small tequila brands often overlooked. It has gained recognition for its dedication to promoting independent Jalisco distillates like raicilla.
Beautiful speak easy bar in Guadalajara city, 8th in 50 best bars! Incredible drinks and ambience, we had an a good impression! Staff is friendly, a bit croudy, very small place but very unusual! Absolutelly love this place!😍👏👏👏
Tatiana G — Google review
#48 on the list of best bars in the world, and I think it deserves the recognition. El Gallo Altanero is incredibly charming. Located in a courtyard between two buildings, visitors are seated both downstairs and on the patio upstairs. The roof of the patio opens to a dreamy night sky and lanterns. The drinks were incredibly good and well made. We tried four cocktails and all of them were delicious so I think you can’t go wrong with any of the menu options. My favorite was probably the one that had coffee in it. It was like an espresso martini or Carajillo but super creamy and no alcohol taste. The service is great, the servers all spoke English and took their time to explain how to drink certain cocktails. The food was surprisingly really good as well. The torta was soaked in a bowl and had to be eaten with a spoon but it was amazing. The tacos were good. The potatoes…I thought would be crispier, but honestly they grew on me as I ate them. We came at 8:30pm (party of 2) on a Friday night and we were seated immediately. Any time after around 9:30, you will most likely have to wait in a line.

Cool speakeasy kind of feel. The name of the place on maps was different than the name on the sign so we had to confirm when we got to the entrance. The place is kind of nondescript and quiet at the front but once you get back to the bar it’s lively and a hidden gem. The service was excellent, they were very accommodating when we had a large group even though they didn’t have much space. It’s a tight fit so be prepared to wait if you go on a busy night. The drink menu is extensive and there are creative drinks.
Dadventure — Google review
This place is perfect for a date night! The live music, drinks, tapas, and most importantly the staff are phenomenal! I’m sure that the atmosphere set the mood for the moment I asked my date to be my girlfriend 6 rounds for 2 people + food was +$2000 We were here on a Sunday night around 9 pm - it was packed but we only waited about 20 mins for a table to free up. It is first come first serve so be strategic on where you want to sit.
Spam E — Google review
The bar is really cool, good vibes, but I was not impressed by the drinks. And we tried 4 different cocktails
Nina B — Google review
Google really needs to add a "Drinks" category, so that I can give it 5 stars! I've been here a couple of times, the palomas are delicious here, even though it's a classic drink that you can get anywhere, they prepare it here with fresh grapefruit juice instead of grapefruit soda (squirt) My second favourite is the coffee drink "Cafe de olla" FYI: The upstairs drink menu has a few more options that main floor. The guacamole is great Service is top-notch
Sofi C — Google review
This is a very nice place to visit, the service is amazing and the drinks are really good. It has a DJ after 9pm. Sometimes it has a invited bartender
Francisco C — Google review
Absolutely loved this place. It is the best bar in Guadalajara and one of the best bars in Mexico. The space is intimate and quirky, the staff are very friendly and accommodating, the cocktails highlighted the best local flavours and ingredients and the food was also very good. One of my favourite bars in the world and very deserving of being a top 500 best bar.

Cocktail bar
Restaurant
De La O Cantina is a modern cantina in Guadalajara, Jalisco, offering craft cocktails and regional bites in a chic, old-fashioned setting. The bar's philosophy of 'Guadalajatiki' is reflected in its unique cocktails like the 'Pulque Tropical,' made from Mexico's first alcoholic beverage - the fermented sap of the century plant.
Outstanding food and great innovative drinks. Staff was extremely friendly and clearly enjoyed what they were doing. Would 100% recommend.
Benjamín R — Google review
This place feels like a trendy tavern and I adore it. Their cocktails are delicious and very well priced for speciality drinks. Their chorizo/potato tacos are the best I’ve ever eaten. The ambiance is great on a weekday, the staff is very helpful, and they’re very patient if Spanish isn’t your first language. Definitely a must go to in Guadalajara/Colonia Americana!
Sebastien P — Google review
Came here twice because of all the reviews. Food is ok. nothing "spectacular" same as street food. I can get the same thing at the corner. I guess if your a tourist not well traveled it may seem good to you. Service is good. Both times I tried to use my card, their machine did not work. I won't be back. Get your machine to work & let me know if it does and I be back. I don't like to carry cash and your the only place in town I have this issue with.
Freddie M — Google review
Heard a lot about this place from others and it was a really cool inside. Tiny so they can have a really long wait but traveling solo it’s often not very difficult to a get a single spot at a bar. The margarita I had was very good and the tacos were okay. I love cochinita pibil so the two of those I had were excellent but the chorizo taco was just okay. Service was as good as it can be without it being amazing. The decor and aesthetic was my favorite part. Lots of cool and interesting things all over the walls.
Dadventure — Google review
Laid back little cantina. About 200 pesos for most of their shots believe it’s 1.5oz pour. Have stuff like Tahona, Ancestral, tapatio flight, Fortaleza, Cascahuin flight. They have a good amount of allocated bottles as well. Employees are great and knowledgeable. Will be back in the future without a doubt.
Fig1717 — Google review
Stopped by this spot right when it opened for cocktails and a snack. Great little spot with excellent service. We got a Zombi (uber strong! use caution) and a banana colada (nice and refreshing). Got the chicharrones which come with tortillas so it's pretty much an entree perfect for two and nice and salty to go with the drinks. Check it out!
Jeffrey A — Google review
This is a must stop for night life in Guadalajara. The drinks are fresh ingredients and very refreshing Servers and bartenders were very attentive to us and gave us the best recommendations
Roxy A — Google review
It just doesn't get better than this for a cocktail bar. I can't even begin to describe how delicious their drinks are. I normally drink an Old Fashioned which are nearly perfect here. During my last visit I had the bartender do a "dealers choice" and he prepared the best most delectable gin and tonic I have ever had. Who new a gin and tonic could be so good. It was citric and lightly sweet. I loved it. If you love cocktails this is a must visit. Their specialty is tequila, mezcal and rum but they can do just about anything. They don't have anything prepared in advance. Every drink is hand crafted. This makes the drinkes incredibly fresh. I could go on and on. Just go there and try one.

Mexican restaurant
Restaurant
Restaurante Alcalde, situated in the city's business district, is a culinary gem led by chef Francisco Ruano. The restaurant offers a modern twist on traditional Mexican cuisine with dishes like pepian-based green mole paired with perfectly cooked chicken and chia seed-crusted homemade bread. The rice pudding showcases contrasting textures and flavors, incorporating chocolate sheets and rich soy and dairy components.
We requested vegan options while making our reservation, and I was treated to an amazing vegan tasting menu. Each plate was creative, presented beautifully, and was an exciting tasting experience. The artichoke in white mole sauce may be the most delicious thing I’ve ever eaten. The vegan tasting menu that was prepared for me also cost less than the regular tasting menu, which was a delightful surprise to get such a wonderful dining experience at that cost. My friends tasted several dishes and agreed that they were not only delicious, but in some cases, the best dishes of the night, including their non-vegan dishes. But they also thoroughly enjoyed their regular a la carte meals of course. An amazing fine dining experience.
Gillian L — Google review
We went to Alcalde for my birthday. Upon arrival, the hostess didn’t greet us, I had to initiate the conversation and let her know I had a reservation. For a high end restaurant like this, I expected a warmer, more attentive welcome. The meal itself was definitely unique, with beautifully presented and delicious dishes, some more memorable than others. Sitting at the counter was an interesting experience, as we could watch the kitchen in action and see the cooking staff at work. Our main waiter was attentive, and a few other servers, who were even more charismatic, brought out some of our dishes and added to the experience. I can understand why some negative reviews point out that a few dishes are just “okay,” but there are also standouts that make the menu worth trying. Overall, it was a special dining experience, the ambience was just ok.
Mayi B — Google review
I was surprised by how easy it was to make the reservation. Although we were booking for a Monday night. We did the à la carte menu and it was the best option for us. The service and the quality of the food was outstanding. Please note this restaurant is not accessible for persons with mobility issues and the bathroom is located up stairs. The ambience could be improved with unique local music that was carefully selected to complement the space and the experience.
Natalia M — Google review
Wow. This place was fabulous. The food was out of this world. I enjoyed every bite from start to finish, I didn’t want the experience to end. The service was top notch and the atmosphere was so fun and inviting. The colors, art, aesthetic and feel of the whole place was excellent. 10/10 would recommend.

I had the pleasure of dining at Ojo in Bangkok during the summer of 2024, and the experience was truly world-class—the food, service, atmosphere, and location all came together flawlessly. Later, in October 2024, I visited Alcalde in Guadalajara for the first time and tried the tasting menu. While the presentation and service were excellent, I found the food to be overly experimental and, frankly, not enjoyable. I gave Alcalde another chance in August 2025, this time ordering à la carte. Once again, the presentation and service were formidable, but the food itself was disappointing—too salty, too “out there,” and ultimately barely edible. Although I initially felt the food merited only one star, it’s clear the team is highly dedicated and puts real effort into presentation and sourcing. For that reason, I’ve chosen to give a more neutral three stars overall. It’s also possible that my palate simply doesn’t align with Alcalde’s culinary vision.
P. N — Google review
Tasting menu at the chef's table was a great experience and I thoroughly enjoyed being able to watch all of the beautiful food come together in the kitchen. The vibes were great and the food wasn't bad. Definitely had some very unique flavors and delicious bites throughout the tasting menu. All of the dishes were visually stunning. The wine pairing left something to be desired though. The pours were quite light, and they reused the same wine for consecutive courses and a couple occasions which was a little disappointing.
Eric H — Google review
A hip place with interesting flavor profiles and delicious drinks. However, their dishes can sometimes eschew common sense savoriness for hit-or-miss courses. Nevertheless, this is a tasting menu experience with something to say. My party of 4 all had the tasting menu and we had the pleasure of sitting at the chef’s table. The wine pairings were decent. I was not challenged or inspired to explore past “this goes with this because it has a similar flavor profile”. Still, good picks that include some fun choices like orange wine. The courses are small. A few of them can be a little challenging, but nothing too difficult to eat. The clear standouts are their peanut salad (the second strongest and most bold flavor of the evening) and the shiitake mushroom dessert (exceptional). The service is, simply put, flawless. Our waiter was playful, informative, and attentive. Lastly, yes, Alcalde is quite spendy. We paid around $1300 for 4 people, though that included wine pairings and cocktails. I highly recommend this place for a special night out.

Xokol is a high-concept restaurant in Guadalajara, run by chefs Xrysw Ruelas and Oscar Segundo. The restaurant offers mostly corn-based dishes with a playful twist. Located in the Santa Tere neighborhood, the interior features a stunning ceiling of hanging corn, a beautiful mural, and a simple yet inviting space with a long communal table and open kitchen.
Amazing place! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a cozy setup and an open kitchen that allowed us to see everything being prepared. The food was absolutely delicious, beautifully presented, and every dish had its own unique touch. The staff was incredibly friendly, taking the time to explain every detail about the food and the restaurant’s concept, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in Mexico—truly a gem!

Phenomenal. We loved the community table concept and ambiance. The service was kind and calm. Oscar was charismatic and patient. A must for any visitor and local in Guadalajara. Wonderful way to preserve millennial culinary traditions and the native culture. I will return and recommend this place to everyone.
Natalia M — Google review
I’ve been coming to xokol for four years and never have I been disappointed. Their traditional plates that are modernized with a creativity creates plates that are unique and delicious. The menu changes with the seasons so expect fresh ingredients and to see a plate once. You might see it again but not the exact same except for their ceremonial taco. The service is phenomenal and I’ve been a frequent enough patron to be recognized by the staff who have been there for awhile. If you want stereotypical Mexican food, you’ll be disappointed. This a mix of traditional dishes with non traditional ingredients. Tourists need to understand there are many cuisines in Mexico. Don’t eat here if you’re a picky eater either. While it’s ok to not like certain flavors or dishes, it’s never good to go in with a closed mind set. I personally recommend to get the oysters tuétano, or any fish/kampachi dish. Bonus points if you go and there’s a dish with an ingredient from someone the chefs know/their family. I’ve also done their guest chef dinners and tasting menus and it’s always been amazing.
Valerie G — Google review
One of the finest meals I've had in my life! Highly recommend the tasting menu. It will take you on a flavor journey like no other.
Michael C — Google review
This is one restaurant I hope lasts for the time to come. I would recommend the tastings if this is your first time here and venture to dinner if it would be your second visit. It's a lot of fun and the quisine is beautiful and tasty. You can tell that the staff is very team oriented and take pride in their work. I especially enjoyed the grilled oyster with hoisen. Excellent. Could have eaten five of those. The off-menu cóctel list was very impressive. There's wasn't a cocktail that I didn't like but for my personal taste there were some that I preferred over others. There was a simple gin and tonic with romero that was fantastic. Grab your favorite dinner companions and make this a destination for the evening.
Tovin B — Google review
I can’t speak highly enough about my experience at Xokol. We were a two person walk-in, no reservation, and they went out of their way to make sure we could dine-in. On top of that this one was of the best meals I’ve ever had. Don’t miss this stop in GDL anything you order will be amazing.
Tonya W — Google review
Loved Xokol! The service and food were outstanding. We did not have a reservation, but the two of us turned up just before 7pm on Wednesday and were met by friendly staff who were able to seat us for dinner. We chose to order off the menu rather than to do the tasting. We ordered 4 dishes and loved them all. Our favourites was the octopus empandas, the Tlacoyo and the sweet corn chorreada. We were stuffed and could not do dessert. But the staff provided us a free dessert to try and it was amazing. If you are in Guadalajara I strongly recommend eating at Xokol.

Night club
Bar
Bar Américas is a renowned nightclub in Guadalajara that has been a staple of the city's electronic music scene for over two decades. The club features an exceptional sound system and pulsating lights that create an electrifying atmosphere, drawing in crowds to dance until the early hours of the morning. With regular appearances by renowned DJs, Bar Américas offers a diverse range of electronic music, ensuring high energy and a buzzing dance floor.
Top-tier nightclub playing techno and other genres of contemporary electronic music. They have two rooms, and a red, mirrored corridor between them. The vibe was good — and I’d absolutely go back. I agree with other reviewers that it peaks in popularity around 3 AM. Crowd was good — and a respectable balance of women and men.

Best techno and house club in Guadalajara. Friday was a reasonable 100 peso entrance. Thursday I saw Abbyo and didn’t even know how big he was. It was amazing. Great lighting, free peanuts and drinks are very cheap for this type of club. I would go back time and time again.

Good bar to go party on the weekend open late, lots of room to go around. Staff was helpful and ensured everyone were having a good time. Big drink menu.
Mike D — Google review
Nice after party idea. Techno night club, atmosphere could be alarming to newbies as there are people that sell substances outside. Go with a group of friends. They charge 100$ at the entrance.
Genny D — Google review
Good spot, good music. Fun place to grab some drinks and dance the night away.
Eleonora G — Google review
Good! Reasonable prices and good music. Even on a Thursday not crowded before 02.00, so don't bother coming early. The crowd is youngish and very mixed and open minded. Cannot relate with all the bad drug reviews, didn't notice anything bad.

I know the rush of the place, but be careful when DJ Blue Deer Mon is playing, his staff is unnecessary aggressive, pushing around people for no reason, and trying to intimidate people, was a bad experience, almost cut me off my trip, administration should be more careful about this things. Patan Ale House is a haven for beer enthusiasts, offering an extensive selection of craft beers including red ales and IPAs that are not commonly found in Mexico. The establishment features brews from local Guadalajara breweries as well as international options. In addition to its impressive drink collection, Patan Ale House serves up unique twists on American pub food, such as jalapeno-infused mac and cheese.

We love craft breweries and this one did not disappoint. A very nice 2nd floor terrace. A good selection of beers on tap. They're a bit on the pricey side. We had an Oatmeal Stout, $12 USD.

Cool place to grab some taps and try some imported or craft beer with your friends. The food is good for a bar and the ambiance is nice. I really like to stay at the terrace in the 2nd floor, just be careful on rainy days, you can get really wet with a big storm, so be prepared!

First time visiting, food is surprisingly good and beer is delicious. If you enjoy IPA & Stout beer, I recommend that you order "OBNI FUSION COSMICA" and "SANTA SABINA OLLA STOUT". On Sundays they close early, make sure to get there before 8. The waiters are very kind and friendly.

Nestled in the heart of downtown Guadalajara, La Occidental Cantina is a charming spot that embodies the spirit of a traditional Mexican pub. This inviting cantina serves up comfort food and seasonal cocktails in an atmosphere reminiscent of 1950s cinema, making it a delightful hangout for friends to gather and unwind. With live music featuring Cuban trova and bolero on select nights, the ambiance is lively yet relaxed.
What a great little place.. was over the road from our Airbnb. As an Australian living in the States it was like every old man’s bar in Melbourne before it was gentrified and most dive bars in the USA with somewhat less football (and there was still NFL). Staff are great, food was great. Beer was, well, Mexican beer but let’s be honest if it is hot enough it is always good! Very basic traditional Cantina with an amazing atmosphere. You go there for drinking and having a great time with friends. Good selection of beer, Tequila and cocktails. The snacks are very nice as well. A little bit loud but worth going there as the live music generates a very specific moods. One thing is sure, I will be back again!

Was staying across the street from this gem, when visiting. Loud, but that's how it's supposed to be. Was my watering hole, for a week. Great times, great food, and nice people working there. Thanks.

Wow! Totally unexpected great lunch. Much more than a local watering hole. Food is excellent. Had Marlin taquitos which were well seasoned and brought forward the mild flavor of marlin with a good blend of smoky chili and bracingly sharp limes kept the flavors in balance. Also had three huitaloche empenadas that perfectly combined the earthy and unique flavor of huitaloche with fresh corn and sour cheese along with a creamy fresh corn tortilla. It was all the things you want with a drink: salty, acidic, crunchy, creamy and filling. Aa great dish to pair with the big and strong drinks. Good welcoming and upbeat vibe. 100% recommendation to any traveler needing a few hours out of the sun.
Alexander L — Google review
Your typical cantina. Typical offerings of beer, tequila, and other mixed offerings. They offer snacks/food but I didn't indulge. They have an upstairs with a patio and makes it a great place to have a drink. No view or anything from the patio upstairs. Depending on the crowd around you it could be either loud or calm. We arrived earlier and it was pretty quiet. The later it got, the more people showed up and louder it got.

Bruna is a chic restaurant that offers a diverse menu of regional seafood, meat dishes, and desserts. Chef Oscar Garza's menu includes soups, pastas, seafood, meats, poultry, as well as vegetarian and vegan options. The culinary concept combines Mexican essence with international elements and innovative preparation methods for an outstanding dining experience. The menu is regularly updated to feature seasonal ingredients.
Fine Mexican cuisine with an art deco meets Michelin star quality service. This is truly a Mexican dining experience you do not want to miss in Guadalajara. The service is impressively impeccable the servers are knowledgeable on every cocktail and dish . Nothing is set on the table with out some form of presentation and which compliments the curiosity of this establishment. The Rib eye chicharrones were my favorite & the suckling pig Wellington was very tender with the right amount of flaky pastry to give it contrast to the sweet moles it was paired with. Highly recommend for adults not necessarily kid friendly.

I came to Bruna with very high expectations, and they were almost met. The food looked amazing. The 10 Mile dish was incredible - really unique and full of rich flavors. It was a real highlight. The other dishes were just okay in terms of taste. They were good, but not as impressive as I expected from a top nauch restaurant.

Incredible experience at Bruna’s. We went at 6pm and got to experience the restaurant change from day to night. The venue is beautiful and the food was delicious, but what stood out the most was the service. Our server, Alejandro, guided us through the menu options and explained things in much detail. All his recommendations were superb, we enjoyed all the food very much and the drinks further elevated our experience. After dinner, Edmundo gave us a tour of the entire place (both Bruna and Octo). He was very knowledgeable and his interaction with us was a great balance of informing us about the art, history and highlights of the restaurants, as well as interacting with us (my partner and I) and leaning about us and including that in aspects of the tour. For example I told him I am Brazilian and he pointed out the flowers in the garden that were of Brazilian origin. I don’t have to mention the incredible attention to detail that went into planning this place. Overall an amazing experience that we’ll never forget.

It’s a wrap for our film production at this amazing restaurant! Fine Mexican cuisine meets Art Deco elegance and outstanding service. Samara, in particular, was truly impressive in her attentive and professional service. This is a Mexican dining experience you simply cannot miss in Guadalajara. The service is impeccable — servers are knowledgeable about every cocktail and dish. Nothing is placed on the table without a thoughtful presentation, adding to the charm and intrigue of this establishment. Be sure to try the traditional Jalisco Cazuelita. Highly recommended for adults — not necessarily kid-friendly.

El Habanero Negro is a vibrant Cuban gastropub located in Guadalajara, Mexico. The cantina features a lively terrace and colorful decor, offering classic rum-based cocktails like mojitos and an array of creative tacos such as the taco Lyn Mei with pork belly and chicharron or the taco Mongol with Mongolian beef. Visitors praise the unique ambience that captures the exotic vibe of Guadalajara, making it a must-visit spot in the city.
Really recommend the lyn mei taco I am pointing at the menu. Also the cochinita taco. Ask for one first since they are really stuffed full. The food pic is the "flautitas de platano" fried tacos stuffed with banana! In the background you can see the boogaloo cocktail. It is the best mezcal with hibiscus drink I have ever tried.

If I could eat here everyday, I would. There’s a lot of favorites on the menu, but an absolute must try is the QUESADILLA PERRONA ZARANDEADAI. Order at least two because the first one is going to blow your mind. Additionally the service and atmosphere are great, can’t wait to go back!

Tacos, beer, chejuino, great music with a bit of a wait, but overall a cool experience! The wait on a Saturday afternoon was about 20 minutes, and we were first taken to a stand-up area to start with drinks, then later brought to a table on the top floor (though I nearly fell on one of the steps—just a warning). I began with a cocktail before transitioning to trying a chejuino (tejuino mixed with beer), which was quite refreshing (8.5/10). I ordered two tacos: the taco Lyn Mei (the house recommendation) and a taco de cochinita. The Lyn Mei taco had a Thai twist featuring pork belly with sweeter “Asian” sauces on a flour tortilla—it was exquisite and my overall favorite (9/10)! The cochinita taco was just alright, though a bit drier than a typical cochinita pibil taco (6/10). Service throughout our visit was great, and we were checked on frequently, though things slowed down a bit when we were ready to pay. The music and atmosphere were also highlights—it’s a perfect spot for a Saturday afternoon (the queue outside clearly reflects this place’s popularity). I’d recommend reserving ahead (or coming with a bit of extra time), but it’s well worth the wait for great drinks, tasty tacos, and a 10/10 atmosphere.

Their diverse selection of creative and Instagram-worthy cocktails caters to all tastes. The Liebre de Marzo cocktail stands out as a unique and delightful choice, while the Miau is described as fruity but overly sweet. In addition to their drinks, the bar also serves satisfying bites like the Papas Mexas and Tapas Al Azar.

Restaurant has an amazing vibe. The rooftop is a great open space to grab drinks with a group. The food was good. I ordered the Burger De Res which was stuffed with cheese. Was delicious but the bun fell apart quickly. One of my group did not receive their food for almost 20 minutes after the rest of our group did. On Sundays they have a Two for One Aperol Spritz special. Would highly recommend for a place to grab drinks

Really nice bar at the top of a building, we had a few of their experimental drinks and some of the more established cocktails. The experimental as the name implies can be hit or miss, yet the presentation and layout were always very nice. We went at night and it seemed not too busy, however getting a waiter sometimes proved a bit challenging. Overall I recommend this place .

Beverages - incredibly well made, they have mastered the art of mixology. The price is a bit high but the quality matches the price. Atmosphere - a 3rd story outdoor bar that is a fun place to chill to get a drink or two with friends. It is a bit loud to talk though, so I wouldn’t recommend coming for a business meeting, or meeting with an old friend to catch up, or a first date. Service - our server was very friendly and welcoming. We would like to return another time in the future.

Cocktails ... Matilde mi amor - fantastic. Sour slightly sweet. With a bit of funk. Liebre de marzo - not to my taste. A bit bitter. Coconut water licor'ish. My partner did not like it either (we gave our verdict after the drink was finished). Paraíso - reminds me of a lemonade but bitter. Good if you are a bit thirsty. Miau - fruity but too sweet for my taste. Bites... Papas Mexas - good. Potatoes are Baked I think which is healthier than fried. Tapas Al Azar - good. It fills the stomach. Other... We went on a Friday night and there was a wait list. Music was a bit too loud for my liking but after a few drinks it wasn't too bad. 5 stars for the service of the bartender and waitress.

Young, friendly, and ready to make sure you’re having a great time. Five stars, easily! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 If you’re in the centre of the city, don’t miss this spot! Whether you’re a local or a tourist, it’s the kind of place that makes you sing ‘Guadalajaraaa…’ a little louder with every drink. 🥳💃 👊🏼⭐️💙 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽

Great local place!! Heard the music as I was walking by the other day and thought this would be a great place to go to. By chance, a friend recommended to meet there the very next day...coincidence?? The food menu is limited but it's not a dinner restaurant, it's a bar first and foremost. A bar with a great vibe and local folks who love to sing along with the performers. Highly suggest meeting up with some friends here....grab a table...a drink...order a snack and enjoy the lively atmosphere

The oldest bar in Guadalajara... For that alone it's worth a visit. With that said, the place is cavernous, loud, impersonal, and when "that old piano" starts playing, you can't hear yourself think. Service is rushed and indifferent, and overall I can immediately think of a dozen places I'd rather go have a beer at in Guad... not least because all that's available here is bottled, mass produced toot. Pro-Tip: Come here and have one beer, to say you've done it. Then go and find one of the many great bars in the city center.

Fun, friendly bar with delicious boozy cocktails and inventive tacos (the vegetarian courgette and pepita one was so good). The jukebox makes the atmosphere loud and lively.

They did not have 8 out of the 21 cocktails on the menu. So all the cocktails we were interested in were unavailable because they were “changing the menu”. The quantity in 2 out of 4 drinks we served was tiny. The glass was filled by very large ice cube and the alcohol content still was low. Decided to abandon and go to another bar. The staff was good and attentive and the two appetizers were very good too. The ambience was excellent. I wish they pick up the slack on the cocktails. See picture of list of unavailable drinks.
Anil S — Google review
Very limited beer options and slow service. We arrived just before the Saturday evening rush and were seated at the very front entrance, as most of the bar area was reserved. The menu was only available via QR code. I ordered a Pacifico and one of their house cocktails. Surprisingly, the Pacifico was a small version of the beer, which wasn’t clearly stated on the menu in terms of milliliters. Their beer selection was very limited, and they had run out of Ultras during our visit. We also ordered a Yerbabuena, which was served in a more generous glass, though the menu again didn’t specify the drink sizes. Later, I ordered the “1, 2, 3” drink, which had a nice kick. Service between drinks was very slow, and we had to flag down a waiter for each round and even to get the bill. The music selection was interesting, to say the least—there wasn’t a clear theme, and they played a mix of different vibes. While the overall atmosphere of the bar matched the aesthetic of the place, the drink selection could have been better. Prices were okay for the area, but the slow service and limited options were disappointing.

On the plus side: opens early for a cocktail bar On the negative side: ☑️ music was too loud (like you have to shout to be heard) ☑️it smelled strongly of Raid or some other insecticide ☑️the cocktail could not have had more shaved ice, was overpriced and not that good Would not go back even if the drinks were free .

This bar tried to double charge me and over charged me for my drinks. They put a T shirt and charged me for something I never received. I've lived in Mexico long enough to know the prices of goods and services. If your an American or a foreigner stay away from this place. Shady service ruins business. This is not an establishment you should support if your visiting Guadalajara.

My first hour in Guadalajara Andi could not have been more lucky to find this.place. It was Friday night and the wait was about 30 min but totally worth it. I told the bartender. It was my first time in Guadalajara and wanted to try some tequila. She brought over Pancho, one of the owners, who spent the next 2 hours giving us a food and tequila tour of Mexico all while we were sitting at the bar. We tasted some of the best tequila I have ever tasted and the assortment of tacos were the best I have had in Mexico. The Al pastor taco was so good I almost burst out crying after the first bite. Just an amazing place. I'll be back. I might move to Guadalajara so I can go more often.

Pigalle is a sophisticated venue known for its bitters-based cocktails and classic speakeasy ambiance. The long wooden bar, bathed in a crimson glow from low-wattage bulbs, exudes a retro vibe complemented by a mix of blues, rock, jazz, and Afrobeat music. Patrons appreciate the friendly staff and perfect drink recommendations. However, some suggest improvements such as concealing extension cords and upgrading the bathrooms.
Great music and really good service the workers are friendly. After a long friendly meeting one hour turned onto many and then it was late and I was so hungry for food. This place was a saving grace with the best disco and 70s/80s music. It was such a vibe. So I grabbed a double hamburger and was fed sushi by a group of friends. This upped the vibe even more. I recommend.

The ambience and interior of this bar is cool. Very gloomy and dark vibe (sometimes too dark and hard to see). The bartender was friendly and made my drinks quickly. We came looking for great cocktails based on reviews. The cocktails were pretty basic I would say, not anything creative that's unique to this bar, and menu doesn't have descriptions of them, just names of the standards like Old Fashioned, Gimlet, etc. We asked for an off menu cocktail and they couldn't make it and didn't seem really interested in experimenting. Nothing wrong with that just FYI that it's not a fancy cocktail place where they are creating something new. We came on the early side and sat outside for one drink so can't speak for atmosphere later in the night in the bar.

The burger was good, but the service was disappointing. Despite clearly ordering one burger and one beer, the waiter brought double and refused to correct the mistake, forcing us to pay. To top it off, he expected a tip and looked shocked when we didn’t leave one.

I wish I could give a better review, but the food was kind of awful. I had the classic burger, which looks good. It came with really wet fried onions that didn't have their crunch and wouldn't come apart in your mouth. The burger itself was super sallty. The service was pretty bad. I didn't get silverware or napkins. The table was not even fully cleaned off. The plate is too small for the food, which creates this weird problem when you're trying not to spill all over the table. The reason that the place does actually get 3 stars instead of one is the inside is super cool. Awesome paintings. The live music was great. I will just stick to beer next time.

Excellent value for money. Just walking around I found this restaurant, seems like a coffee shop, nothing fancy to be honest but food was amazing, they have homemade tortillas, you can even see the girl making them, and the price is fair/cheap. (Translated by Google) I love this place. Very tasty homemade food in 2 courses for $100 - the place is quite spacious so you don't have to suffer for a table. You can tell that the food that is prepared is of the day and although almost every day they offer the same thing (but there are always about 6 options) on occasions they include a different dish, always very tasty. The staff is very friendly and they are quick to serve you. I go 2 to 3 times a week so I highly recommend it. The portions are more than enough (I eat a lot and always end up with pork sickness after eating here). Widely recommended for those Godinez to whom they did not send us lunch. Hospicio Cabañas, located in Guadalajara's historic center, is a renowned 18th-century complex that has transitioned from a facility for the needy to a hub of art and culture. Designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it now houses the Instituto Cultural Cabañas, showcasing an extensive collection of contemporary Mexican artworks, including pieces by Jose Clemente Orozco and French artist Daniel Buren.
Amazing intense murals in the main hall. I also saw an excellent photography exhibition there that I imagine changes. Free access on Tuesdays.

A mixed bag. Tickets are affordable and available, there is hardly a line to enter the place. The interior houses a few photo galleries, with rotating expositions, and not much else. The central building with it's high vaulted ceilings and frescoes is the main attraction. It is peaceful though and at times you will find yourself alone in this huge complex.

I highly recommend anyone coming to Guadalajara to make a visit to this museum. Tuesdays are free. The murals in the chapel are breathtaking and should not be missed. As well, there are several exhibition rooms that showcase a variety of art and genres.

Really dont like rating so low but besides the history of the building there are few unimpressive exhibits. Orozco murals are good, if cost was lower perhaps 2 stars. Didn't understand massive historical building, nice courtyards, yet so little to see for 110 pesos. Was a large group of important people back of building closed off didnt help the experience.

A must visit place in Guadalajara. With it's long history as an hospice and culture space this colonial jem helds different contemporary art exhibitions and one of the mos extraordinary murales in México. You could easily spend 2 or 3 hours walking around the different galleries. A visit to the museum store is also recommended.

The restaurant prides itself on supporting the community and sourcing ingredients from local producers. Their menu features an array of gourmet burgers, including options like portabella mushroom and maple syrup burgers, as well as kebabs for those who prefer alternatives to burgers.
Amazing burger joint that must check out in colonia americana. The ambiance of the place is great and the have a number of craft/local beers to choose from. The service was quick and the server provided me with a number of recommendations. I ordered the chimichurri burger with a lemonade to drink. The burger was incredible, one of the best burgers I have ever had. Meat was tender and very flavorful and the buns are made fresh in house. Was pleasantly surprise with Argentinian twist to burger. Fries were excellent and very flavorful. For burger/drink I paid around 280 pesos so around ($14 usd). 10/10 highly recommend coming to check out pigs pearls.

Greta location, quiet indoor and outdoor seating options. Food was amazing and the staff were great very reasonable prices and good portions. I felt like this was a great spot and I’m definitely going to stop by again. I ordered a sangria and a queso burger and both were delicious. I’m from Texas and I’ve been traveling all of Mexico. This is one of the few burger spots that hit the spot.

This place already has a ton of reviews so gonna keep it short and sweet: Great burgers, great atmosphere (minus those pinche mosquitos), and great staff. Try the pastor burger. and the old fashioned was great! Get some different burgers and share with friends for sure. Lots of different flavors.

Went there with couple of friends on Saturday evening. The ambience was good and I really enjoyed the music at this place. I ordered Chicken burger which was ok ok type. The fries I got with my burger was soggy. We also tried their all the deserts in the menu. Guava pie was really nice, cheesecake was good too and I didn’t like the brownie. The service was fast. The staff was friendly.

To list down best burgers in this city, it is not so match my imagination. Maple burger is too greasy for me, I prefer something light vegetables add inside to balance . The French fried is a little bit dry. Total service is good and friendly.

I came back after years, remembering what a great burger it was. The server was great. Sadly, however, what I got was incredibly saltly, completely losing the maple taste. It was also extremely overcooked.

Amazing burgers! Probably the best you'll taste in Guadalajara. The buns are soft and delicious, the meat is ultra-tasty, the toppings are really well paired altogether in a fantastic combination of flavours. Seafood restaurant
La Docena is a renowned seafood spot in Guadalajara, consistently ranked among the top 50 Best Restaurants in Latin America. Inspired by New Orleans and Louisiana's oyster bars and cajun kitchens, it combines Mexican seafood flavors with Argentine grill style. The menu features an amazing variety of oysters prepared in different styles. Located at Paseo Andares, this unique oyster bar offers a bustling atmosphere and exceptional seafood dishes that showcase the flavors of the sea.
The raw bar is very fresh and flavors they put together are so good! Also had the Jamaica Mezcal and it also did not disappoint. Highly recommend this chain. They had a lot of staff so even when it got busy there was no drop off in service. The cleanliness was a 10. Safe travels!
J C — Google review
Sadly I was quite disappointed by the food at La Docena. The oysters were good, but I ended up being charged more than $200 each. The crab soup had good flavor, though a little salty, and the crab meat was shredded into very tiny pieces, no there were no chunks at all. The tortillas that came with the soup were absolutely terrible, the tasted stale and I would have been disappointed if they were with $50 tacos, let alone with a meal that cost $1900 for one person. The grilled octopus was ok, but nothing special, the texture was mediocre and the flavor was shallow. I mention the price because if it was half as much I would say it was ok, and they had room to improve. At this price, and with their reputation, I feel they are not concerned with doing a good job anymore.

I visited Guadalajara for a couple of days and stayed near Sao Paulo Street. On my first night, I discovered La Casa De Los Platos and had a wonderful experience there. The food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent. While walking around, I noticed that La Docena was very busy and seemed popular, so I decided to try it the next night. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t match the first night. The drinks were just average, and I was hoping to try guacamole—but what they served was a small portion of something similar. The menu is heavily focused on seafood and oysters, which didn’t really suit my taste, so I ended up ordering a burger. It was decent, but nothing memorable. Overall, I’d rate La Docena 3 stars. It might be a better fit for seafood lovers, but for me, it didn’t quite live up to the hype

Café palReal is a laid-back restaurant located in the trendy Colonia Americana neighborhood of Guadalajara. It offers classic daytime dishes and cocktails, with outdoor seating surrounded by hip cement tile work and lush greenery. The cozy coffee bar area provides a perfect spot to enjoy sweet farm cheese on biscuits and perfect cappuccinos while chatting with the friendly baristas.
Great interiors and delicious brunch. It was blue corn tortillas paired with the chorizo platter. Beautiful yard in the back. We were curious about a chili ingredient and because of limited Spanish, we were googling back and forth on translation. The waiter is so kind and brought back phone to Google up the picture of the chili pepper to show us. So warm and patient!

Food was decent, the service was OK, the atmosphere is very nice. I ordered a Lonche de pancita (pork belly sandwich) and got a sandwich that, in my opinion, was pork leg. I didn't want to wait to wait to discuss and maybe get a replacement sandwich, so I just went ahead and ate it. It was OK, but with the Pajarito (bottled) salsa added, the flavor improved. Their cappuccino is very delicious. The atmosphere is nice. I sat at the bar, the service was mixed, with some servers being very attentive, while my server was just OK at best. I will come back to try other items in the menu, and will seat in their patio next time.

Delicious and absolutely would go back! The iced latte was great, and they made a flat white cold for my friend as well. The waiters were very helpful and suggested good plates based on my allergies. I got 2 different vegetarian tacos, which came on blue corn tortillas, and they were SO tasty. Very different flavors between the two - which was wonderful. Their hot sauce was worth a try as well, such a nice kick! This adorable cafe has multiple levels and spaces to sit, so you could have a favorite spot or a different one each time. The atmosphere is lovely at lunch time - very chill and open.

Pal Real is one of my favorite places in Guadalajara, Mexico! Conveniently located in Arcos Vallarta, all the food is freshly made, and the cocktails are truly craft! These pics are just a few of my favorite things, because everything is delicious. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the music and general atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. You will not regret making Pal Real a spot to visit when you’re in Guadalajara!
Holly A — Google review
My visit to Cafe Palreal in Guadalajara left much to be desired. The food, unfortunately, fell below my expectations, with offerings that were decidedly below average in taste and presentation. It seemed like a missed opportunity for a culinary delight. The service, while not notably poor, failed to leave any lasting positive impressions. It was a functional experience, but nothing about it stood out as particularly special or attentive. The lack of exceptional service added to the overall mediocrity of the visit. In conclusion, Cafe Palreal might be an option if you're in need of a quick bite, but for those seeking a memorable culinary or service experience, there are likely better choices in the area. The cafe has room for improvement to truly stand out in the competitive food scene of Guadalajara.

Poor customer service they only had 4 tables , a lot of staff. It took them 15min to notice we were waiting to place our order. Drink we're late. Waitress awful service and they guy with glasses and tattoos was in another world in his mind. Definitely this place is not worded for me. Romea is a bistro located in the Americana neighborhood, offering a diverse experience beyond just being a tapas bar. The menu includes rich and hearty breakfast options such as the exotic shakshuka from North Africa with feta cheese, poached egg, and spices. For tapas, they serve options like tomata with serrano ham or strawberry with caramelized onion.
I absolutely love this place. I live in Los Angeles where we have have some of the best variety of food and this place certainly reminded me of back home in LA. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The arugala was fresh. This place is small which I love! I feel like it makes the service more personal. The workers are very kind. And everything is made in a small kitchen that is perfectly placed right in the dining area. Haven't tried the wine or even gone for dinner but I definitely plan on coming back.

Good option for a wine bar, they sell cocktails and beer as well. Small menu but well executed, big enough variety on wine by the glass although there’s no menu but blackboards on the wall, the staff would explain the options if asked. The place has a good ambience and music, is clean and normal to low noise level. They offer breakfast on the weekends and you can sit by the bar if needed. Zero parking and no valet so be prepared to drive around at least for 10min to find a spot.
AO D — Google review
I was not a fan. Prices were approaching California level, certainly for wine, and what you get is a measured out 100, or 200 ml of juice. The food is Italian, which is blah, but people in Mexico seem to think it's the bees knees. Service was on the slow side though not bad. Place is pretty dark at night, super mood lighting.

I went there last Friday night with my boyfriend and can’t complain about the drinks and food, they were okay. Though portions are hilariously small. Kind of fancy-sized portions. The place and menu have a Madrid bar feel. What I didn’t like was the service. The staff’s attitude was unfriendly and not welcoming, we ordered extra bread that wasn’t delivered and when we asked to have our bill split the waiter said we had to give her the exact amount ourselves (maybe this bar should consider giving their staff a calculator as a work tool), and, well, as I just said: atmosphere unfriendly and not welcoming. I am going to give it a try to this place one more time, since it is one block away from my boyfriend’s house and hopefully next time I will have the chance to transmit to staff how I’d like to be treated since I am a good customer and I am just trying to relax and have a good time at the bar a Friday night!

Horrible place and staff. Stopped by for a glass of wine and a bite to eat on a beautiful sunny fall afternoon. They had about 20 tables open tables perhaps more. Most with nice outside views. We sat down at one, we were then told it was reserved, walked towards another with nice views and one of the waiters actually put a reserved sign on the table as we were trying to move to it. We were then told everything was reserved so they stuck us at the worse table they have with an inward wall view next to the wait station. Checked OpenTable and they are wide open all evening so it was obviously a lie. I wouldn’t come back here simply because there are so many other choices in the area with staff that doesn’t lie at restaurants that don’t pretend to have reserved tables that are in fact empty so that they (the staff and restaurant) can feel important. Go elsewhere…

Food was good I recommend the tostada de pata, the pozole or the flautas. My flauta tasted freshly made. Crunchy on the outside soft on the inside. I would definitely come back!
Fernando O — Google review
Very average Mexican food. Don't know why it's so busy which attracted us to try it. The sope de pastor isn't really pastor. It's more like minced meat instead of sliced meat off the rotisserie. The sope was very thick and not how a sope should be. The pozole was also very bland. The flautas were probably the best thing on the menu, but the tortilla for me was too thick. The salsas were ok and the horchata was good. The service and atmosphere was also good. Overall an underwhelming experience

I'd love to say this is a great place with awesome prices. But it's not. At least not the case with sopes and tacos dorados. The first is simple...tasteless and the tacos are super greasy and salty. It's a very traditional place, but nevertheless I don't think the food is good. Great service and agua de horchata. Prices are reasonable for what you get.

Gay bar
Nestled in the heart of Guadalajara's vibrant gay village, Babel Club is a dazzling nightlife destination that truly comes alive after dark. This glamorous venue spans three floors, each pulsating with an electrifying mix of electronic dance music. As you step inside, you're greeted by an array of live DJ sets that range from hardcore techno to catchy electro-pop hits, ensuring there's something for every taste.
A gay nightclub (perhaps straight-friendly too). There were three doormen in suits standing at the entrance, which made it difficult to enter, but they smiled and reassured me. After paying for the cover (200 pesos) at reception, a pleasant space awaited. The space was clean and the attitude of the employees was decent. The clientele also felt stable and secure. Good place to enjoy a Guadalajara night. At the same night, a Japanese resident in Colonia Americana, a few blocks away, was a victim of street robbery, so we cannot neglect to pay attention to security itself, though.
Shun ( — Google review
This bar has lost it’s Guadalajara soul to being an instagram photo-op boring place. It used to be great, but the remodel made it soulless, normal, and pretty much a straight club. No reason to go there if you want to have a good time in gdl. If you’re gay, go somewhere else.
Christopher D — Google review
It's so hard to write a review about this place. I went out with the intention to go dancing, but dancing on the spot is all you can do here. I did not travel with "club clothes" as it was not my intention to be in a larger city. I'm pretty sure I was a little under dressed, but they welcomed me in anyways. Give the scale and glamour of the lobby, I was surprised how small the actual club was. It was packed to the rafters with people. It was hard to make it to the bar and get a drink. That said I met a wonderful Spanish guy who took me under his wing and made me feel at home. The decor of this place is fantastic. It has a massive video wall which accompanies the DJ booth and performers at the bottom and glass faced catwalk for dancers and performers on top. The dancers and the performers were out of this world. I cant say enough good things about how well produced their show is. This is club is like a combination of Studio54, La Cage, and The Met Gala all in one, but someone forgot completely about providing a dance floor, whichnis what I went to do. The volume of the music combined with the small footprint, yet volumous (high) ceiling, made it impossible to really talk. Which knowing little Spanish, may have been a good thing. If you are going for the SPECTACLE and the show, to be SEEN, this is the place to go. If your going and want to do more than dance on the spot, this is not the place to go. I joked to my friend that I should collect all the mirrored confetti they shot from the confetti cannon and sew it all together to make a new outfit for next Saturday. If your in Guadalajara, you must at least go to see this place. Lots of beautiful people in this bar
Mike C — Google review
As a gay bar, it's pretty mixed. Went on a Saturday night. Knocked off some points for that. The dancefloor has tables on it so you're forced to dance in the empty spots. Can be awkward or a great opportunity to mingle with people. The bar service was excellent and the drinks were strong though.
Heba M — Google review
The place was great, but the number of servers was wild. Felt like every fifth person in the club worked there! That aside, the music was on point, the drinks were delicious, and the dancers were great.
Ariel L — Google review
For an insanely busy club with the best entertainment, the prices are amazing - 320 pesos for 3 drinks, it’s like it’s free.
Timothy M — Google review
Very surprised with the quality of everything. The cover charge is worth it. Around $8 USD and they do ID. The service was so quick for drinks and for spillage too. They were properly staffed and everyone was super friendly. Three floors total with one being a show (like dancers), second floor is house, and the third floor reggaeton. Bathrooms were clean and like I said, the staff was perfect. The music was beyond good as well. Amazing sound!!
Bryan M — Google review
It's a cools space, great music, dance floor is a bit small, they have tables around but only for table service. Because of this the dance floor was too packed. Cover charge / entry fee was a bit high, the entry fee could have purchased another 3 or 4 beers. Overall experience was fun.

My review is not about the place or the service which was great. I just wanted to alert all women going there (as everywhere) that even though it is a queer place where you might feel safe, you are not. My friend, a local girl, got spiked with something very strong that left her unconscious in the women's toilet floor until we found her after noticing she was gone. Thanks god we found her quick and nothing bad happened to her. I have to say that the staff were not very collaborative and understanding when I explained the situation so I had to battle a bit to find her. Please watch out, always be around friends who know where are you, or go together to the restroom, and be safe so you can enjoy the great nights and environment of Guadalajara.

Dangerous for tourists. A fair warning to anyone visiting. We ordered bottle service and half way through the night it became clear our drinks had been drugged (our entire group of three people). Can’t say for certain how it happened, but I watched our drinks carefully. When we told the staff they didn’t care, asked for a bottle of water after almost passing out and they made sure to charge us for it before we left. Writing this review after being at home for hours, but am still awake from whatever was illegally put in my drink. Take this as a sign…

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Envy Club in Guadalajara, and I can confidently say it was the best experience I've ever had at a nightclub. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted with top-notch service and an atmosphere that oozed sophistication and excitement. One of the standout parts of my night at The Envy Club was the incredible bartender. Unfortunately, I didn't catch his name (but you can see him in the picture), but he provided an unforgettable experience. Each drink he prepared was a work of art. Not only were they delicious, but they were also beautifully presented. His attention to detail and passion for mixology truly shone through, making every sip an adventure. Beyond the exceptional bartender, the entire staff at The Envy Club deserves recognition. They were incredibly friendly, attentive, and always ready to cater to our needs. I would also like to mention the lady in the bathroom who kept everything impeccably clean and well-maintained. Her dedication to ensuring the restroom area was spotless did not go unnoticed, and it added an extra layer of comfort and class to the club experience. The Envy Club is more than just a nightclub; it's a place where exceptional service, a welcoming atmosphere, and top-notch cocktails come together to create unforgettable memories. If you're in Guadalajara and looking for a night out that goes above and beyond your expectations, I highly recommend paying a visit to The Envy Club. You won't be disappointed. It's the perfect destination for a night to remember.

Casa Fayette Restaurante is a stylish boutique hotel located in the lively Lafayette area of Guadalajara. The hotel consists of two distinct buildings - a 1940s mansion and a modernist tower, each offering unique architectural styles. The interiors of its 37 rooms are designed by Milanese firm Dimore Studio, featuring a Mexican color palette and a mix of custom and European furnishings. The public spaces reflect a global-chic aesthetic inspired by the surrounding neighborhood.
The most beautiful hotel in Guadalajara. Great bar. Best cocktails in town. Friendly staff.

Fettucini with pesto. 205 pesos for a portion that would not feed a hungry 5 year old child. They use Bertolli dried pasta not real fresh fettucini and the flavour of the pesto was not even great. No additional parmesan was offered, only given a small amount in a huge bowl with maybe a 100g of food in it. Disgraceful. This is somewhere to go if you have lots of money to waste and you are not actually hungry.

Visiting Mercado San Juan de Dios is an essential experience for anyone wanting to truly understand the heart of Guadalajara. Despite some puzzled expressions from my cab driver, I was determined to explore this vast market. Spanning two floors, it boasts a myriad of food stalls offering local Jalisco favorites like tortas ahogadas, carne en su jugo, and birria.

El Parián de Tlaquepaque is a vibrant plaza in the heart of Tlaquepaque, surrounded by charming arcades and terraces where you can find some of the best restaurants and bars in the area. It's a great place to savor traditional grilled meat dishes, churros, and other local delicacies while enjoying live mariachi performances.
Excellent for a full day experience. Live music mariachi , norteño , dance shows lots of food and small shops around the streets.

The place is beautiful with great atmosphere but the food is not good and the service was not good either. It took over an hour to get our food. The baked potato tasted bad. The pina colada, coke, and lemonade also tasted bad. I ordered the arrachera marinada and it was gross. They don’t accept cards just cash.

If you're coming here, I suggest going for the drinks and the atmosphere. Maybe it was the food we chose, but it wasn't our favorite. It felt like none of it was seasoned, and cold. I promise it looks better than what it actually tasted. We would have told the server that the burner under our food was out but we never got checked on again until paying the check. I understand because they were very busy. But still didn't feel personable. The live music was incredible. The singers and dancers were amazing.

It was my first time and what an awesome experience. The Tequila Cazuelas...just exquisite! A must! The main dish was Chiles Nogada. Not the best ever, El Cardenal, in México City the best, but was good! Top notch service and real good food.

My wife ordered the number 2 combination and I ordered the torta ahogada which was fantastic. When we first were seated the server brought Chips and salsa as well as pico and veggies (carrots, jicama, potato and garlic) all of which were excellent! The atmosphere was very relaxing and the restaurant was very clean!

Visited this restaurant on Friday, 08/08, and it was a complete scam. If I could give it no stars I would. They told me to sit by the mariachi there was a two-drink minimum (for two people) — which sounded fine. They never said bottles, they said individual drinks. I confirmed with the server before sitting. Suddenly, they brought 8 shots to the table without asking, and then they tell us there’s another 8 coming?! charged us $2,000 pesos! No way of sending them back either. When I questioned it, they didn’t care and refused to fix the bill. I got scammed and will never be back. They take advantage of customers. Be very careful.ended up paying $4,000 pesos, a huge bill I did not expect. Writing this review to save this from happening to more people. The mariachi was the only good thing about this place. Food took about two hours to be served.

Atmosphere was nice. Camarones a la diabla tasted and look like american BBQ sauce. Food was very flavorless and staff ignored you once they seated you. They are happy getting people in but after that they don't care about you or your experience and it was costly for crappy service and food. Go elsewhere.

The food was good the platter I got was good and the meat was a little dry. I did get a margarita there and it was one of the best margaritas I've ever had. The atmosphere is very fun lots of mariachi bands people celebrating singing it's a very fun environment and very festive.

Hacienda type of place with a fountain in the middle, they have mariachi and dancing sometimes, the music can get really loud. The food is really bad except the appetizers, the cantaritos are worth trying. The service is slow and low quality meat. The place may be cool but that’s it, there are for sure better options in Tlaquepaque. They have parking on the back but gets full really fast, parking on the street is difficult.

Sushi restaurant
Suehiro is a Japanese restaurant and garden located in the heart of Guadalajara, offering an elegant and traditional dining experience. Since its opening in 1975, it has become a popular destination for both locals and tourists. The menu features a wide variety of authentic Japanese dishes including sushi, nigiri, makimono, sashimi, tempura, noodles, hot soups, and desserts like tapioca or cheese flan.
Having the dinner first time which has been impressive to all my entourages. First time in the city town of Guadalajara, quite authentic but Mexicans feel like polite as Japanese culture. The most important which is all guests quiet dedicated to food from Japanese cuisine, no cheese in the sushi rolls at all. And hundreds options for every kinds of Japanese significance. If there is another change to travel Guadalajara, we definitely have the same place to hangout with friends.

I love Asian food. It is important for me that sushi is made from fresh products without ingredients like Philadelphia cheese. I was able to find it here. The menu is very large, there is a lot to choose from (if you understand this, if not, it will be difficult, the menu has no pictures). The service is pleasant. It is better to book a table in advance if you are planning teppan. The interior is a bit old and requires minor improvements, but not critical. Large private parking.

This was quite a find, a lovely casual restaurant with good food, I had the emperor's sashimi plate and that did not disappoint, seaweed salad consisted of various types, usually used to the green seaweed. The staff were dressed in Kimonos, which gave it a somewhat authentic feel and enhanced the ambience, I was abstaining from eating meat due to Easter but I intend to go back and try the bbq. One big tip if you are going in a big group make sure you have reservations , gets busy and some were told the wait was at least an hr long, All payment types are accepted cash, card , phone , I was very pleasantly surprised , this is what giving the customers what they want and what they need. Good jobs guys/ gals.

I am almost in a dream remembering my first and only visit to Suehiro in 1984...My pilot friend Honey from Arizona, Johnny, my best friend from Cali, Colombia, and Wapo, one of Miguel Angel Felix Gallardo's lieutenants, had a crazy, boisterous time with the owner as our server and chef. Yes, it was all business, the kind of which you can hallucinate about and make your own guesses. Now that I've found their website after 40 years, it's so wonderful to find that this establishment still exists! Their food was a 10 of 10 and can only be described as outstanding. Onward! On that visit I was amazed that the owner could speak perfect Spanish to Wapo and Colombo Johnny, then perfect English to myself and Arizona Honey, then shout commands in Japanese to his workers. He used a spoon to shoot little shots of salt through the air across 6 feet of table, then 10 feet, then what, 15 feet? He did so while talking to us, laughing, and walking backwards from the teppanyaki grill where we were sitting....and each time he did so, we all did a complimentary shot of tequila. Salut. I have done over 1,200 Google reviews and have posted over 5,000 photos. Strangely, as I move across worlds and touch base with experiences from my past, I have discovered that many of my favorite places are still alive on Planet Earth. How amazing after 40+ years. Some of those involved may not be with us any longer, however thanks to the pioneers who made it all happen.......

Food was too comercial. We were at the hibachi table, I asked for shrimp and it was mice and probably not even 3 shrimp. Flavor was good but even the regular vegetables they go with it like zucchini, mushrooms and carrot... we got cabbage and sweet peppers and onions

Great place with great staff. We ate here on a casual midweek day! It wasn't that busy, so we could really quick take a seat. The menu's (4 of them) are very accurate in multiple languages, so a lot of people could read that. The food itself was very good and not that expensive. We ate a lot of food and we didn't have to snack or eat breakfast the next day, because we were so full of food 🤣. I would 100% recommend it!
Olivier J — Google review
The place is really busy, very nice, but my food was salty (too much soy sauce by the teppanyaki chef, none added by me), and the meat on my plate was kind of chewy even though is was cooked through. The server was nice and attentive, and the atmosphere was great. I ordered a green tea and expected just iced regular green tea, but I was served matcha, which is not the same thing. Regular green tea has a smoth flavor, while tannins in matcha do not let you apreciate the food flavors. Suehiro should consider adding a Jazmin green tea (with flowers) instead of matcha.
Laura F — Google review
The place was very nice and upscale. We made an appointment and arrived on time and were seated right away. We ordered a ton of Nigri and some rolls. The fatty tuna and bluefin where amazing. Everything was so good and just melt in the mouth. We will be returning when we crave sushi again!

Selva Mágica is a prominent amusement park in Guadalajara, offering a wide range of attractions suitable for both kids and adults. From gentle carousels to thrilling roller coasters, the park caters to visitors of all ages and preferences. It's known for its exciting rides, including the adrenaline-pumping Bullet. Additionally, the park features various games and food options, making it an ideal destination for families.
We listened to the reviews and did not give the VIP pass. There didn't seem to be any reason to get a VIP pass. It was a lot of fun. Most of the rides were open and there were no lines. The bullet was under construction. Watch out for the Titan ride. The start of it is extremely jerky!
Kevin K — Google review
I would give it a 5 Stars but there were some games that are popular that were out of service even though a day before were working. But other than that everything was great, bring sunscreen. I do want to mention that you are not allowed to bring your own drinks or food, and the store inside is really expensive. One thing that you should be aware of is that male staff are entitled to enter the women's bathroom even when there are little girls going alone.
Krista L — Google review
Fever dream like place. Let me make this clear: the park is really abandoned on its biggest part; most of the arcades are closed or "being repaired" but some have been closed for over two years. Some are just closed for maintenance; hence why we couldn't go on the biggest roller coaster of the park. The open rides were fun but I was with a group of friends that were aware that it was going to be a strange place to visit so expectations were low! They couldn't honestly rebrand the entire park as an scary abdonded theme park and it would work better. The zip line was super fun! But you're not allowed to go with your phone and the people assigned to get pictures during our shift were out for lunch: disappointing! The price is super low so I'm guessing that's the reason as to why the park is such on a bad shape. Kind of sad because it does have a lot of potential, specially since it's next to the zoo. Honestly I wouldn't go again and wouldn't recommend it for little kids but for friends that are looking to do something weirdly fun, I think it's a great plan. I went on a weekday so the park was empty, which made it even more creepy. There's honestly nothing special besides the memories you'll make with the people you go with.
Laura C — Google review
It's a great place to go if you have little kids, the ride selection is good for the kids but the one for the adults is limited most of the rides are out of service, the price for the ticket is pretty affordable, there is plenty of parking and there is a good selection of food outside the main entrance if you don't want to eat in the park.
Rob J — Google review
Fun, small amusement park in Guadalajara. It is next to the zoo, but you won't have time to see both in one day. The park includes a couple small roller coasters, and a log ride. There is a seaseme street themed area with many rides for young children. Ticket prices vary from basic to full experience, depending on what you want to do. They have some fun zip lines. The restaurants are good, and a hamburger combo will cost about $7. You can get a cold beer for $2.50. One day is enough to do everything. I went on a Sunday, and the line wait time was anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes depending on the ride.
Mex I — Google review
This theme park is tasteless. The attractions are few and even so, many are not available whether they are under maintenance or closed due to the pandemic. The attractions are pained with some Sesame Street themes and they squeezed every bit of them in the attractions. Attractions that had nothing to do with the Sesame Street characters were plagued with them, it felt forced, like if the attractions were bought , like some flying dragons and then make it like the Elmo dragons, it felt cheap in some instances. The staff was kind but sometimes when photos are in the table they push you to buy the photos suddenly. Despite that the pricing is fair if you get yourself a bargain, but it is like three or 4 good attractions, more like halfway theme park.
J. G — Google review
Don’t buy the VIP during the week as all adults games don’t respect the vip pass and you will have to wait in line. Too many games are not working for maintenance. I wasted my money and time for playing 3 games only. So boring and I wouldn’t recommend it
K. T — Google review
It's a nice place to have fun and there's a lot of mechanical rides, the only think that I didn't like it about this place is the food. There was a terrible long line (even longer than the one for the attractions) and after all the line they sent me to another page to make a line again. So regardless of that I strongly recommend you to get the VIP pass so you can save a lot of time and enjoy more games.

El Sacromonte is a renowned matador-themed restaurant in Guadalajara, offering an elegant atmosphere and gourmet Mexican cuisine. The menu features refined dishes like stuffed chili peppers with pomegranate seeds, mango ceviche, and playful variations such as quesadillas with rose petals and strawberries. This family-run establishment has gained a loyal local following and is popular among tourists seeking traditional Mexican dining experiences.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this vibrant restaurant that puts a delightful flair on traditional Mexican cuisine. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the inviting atmosphere—pops of colorful lanterns, beautifully patterned table linens, and a stunning mural near the bar that all complemented each other tastefully. The service was attentive and friendly, making our ladies’ lunch all the more enjoyable. I ordered the shrimp avocado salad, which was absolutely delicious—fresh, tangy, and perfectly balanced with high-quality ingredients. Adding to the wonderful ambiance, a talented pianist played live music throughout our meal, enhancing the experience with a relaxing and elegant touch. Overall, this restaurant offers an excellent combination of great food, inviting decor, and warm hospitality. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy a fresh take on classic Mexican flavors in a lively yet welcoming setting.

Exquisite gourmet Mexican cuisine. Note to self: when we return to Guadalajara come back here again and order the first item on the main course menu which is the stuffed bell peppers. The ambiance here is wonderful and there was a piano player performing throughout the meal.

This place doesn't get the recognition it deserves. The food is among the best if not the best food I've had in this region of Mexico. I had the Duck. It was fall off the bone tender and delicious. My husband had the steak and it's was one of the best, cooked to the perfect medium rare temperature (hard to find that in this region). We had the Goya's Mosaic for the appetizer it was so good. They combination of the salmon, cheese cucumber and the other sides just splendid. 100/10 highly recommend. I'll be going back again.

We ere a party of three, two of us had chile en nogada, one had Lengua en mole, the lengua en mole was good, the lengua was tender and the mole was very good. But the main reason we went to el sacromonte was to try the chile n nogada that someone recommended. The nogada was way too sweet (it tasted more like a sweet nut dressing) and not enough, pomegranate was to little as well, the pepper itself had not flavor and it was not spicy at all it was like biting a piece of grass. The place in general is high in prices, Buy the chile en nogada which normally is serve with no sides It’s also too expensive: $380 just for One chile The service was great at the beginning that a gentleman, nice waiter started helping us. For some reason shortly after they change our waiter and instead we had a younger waiter. Our new waiter treated us as if he was not having a good day… his service was anything but good. The atmosphere… even if it’s a very nice big open space in the restaurant it was very hot. (It was not a hot day in Guadalajara today) and even having a big open window on the left side of the entrance and another couple of open spaces the place was very hot and all they had were to small electric fans, one at the entrance of the restaurant and one in one of the corners of the restaurant which both of them were not enough to cool down the whole restaurant area. OJO… even if you park at the restaurant parking spot… they charge $60 pesos for parking I would not go back the this place I Do not recommend it

The restaurant ambiance was relaxing with soft background music and table spacing that allowed private group conversations. The restaurant is open to the outside through window, and where trees grow through the roof. The bar is well stocked and very attractive. The Día de Muerte alter was set for past staff, pianist, and owner. Our meal included a bean soup that was so rich and tasty. The soup was poured over cheese, tomato and cucumber at the table. The main meals were ribeye and pork, the latter falling off the bone and so tender and tasty. The meal came with bread rolls and twisted crackers and corn tortillas. I highly recommend the margarita. It is also very good and was perfect for the warm day. We finished the meal with flan which was accompanied with strawberries and raspberries. Thanks to Paco for great service.
Cass A — Google review
I found El Sacromonte on a best of list for Guadalajara, and let me tell you it did not disappoint! The food was excellent and the service was impeccable. The atmosphere is what I think of as a traditional Spanish inspired Mexican restaurant. The ambience was magical to say the least. There is no reason at all you should move past this on your decision of where to dine if you are reading this. You have to try the Quesadilla, don’t worry it’s not what you would expect of a boring standard quesadilla. Instead, it was empanada style with strawberry aoli infused with rose. 5/5. Followed that with the Goya Mosaic. A woven smoked salmon with panela cheese. Gave lox and bagels vibes. Very good. 4/5 I had the duck entree, and it was the best duck dish I have ever had. The sauce was sweet yet savory. Paired with the duck meat and the beautifully fatty skin the was delightful and took the flavors to another level. 5/5. Finally, we finished with the Pollo Mole. This was fantastic and exactly what you think of when having a mole. 5/5. The 4.6 rating is to low for this restaurant , seriously. Don’t miss out on an amazing experience. I feel horrible that I can’t remember my waiter’s name but he was excellent! I don’t speak that much Spanish, however he made me feel like I was doing a great job and made the overall experience something I will never forget about my trip to Guadalajara.

Named after the iconic novel that helped define Latin American literature, Rayuela evokes the same essence as Cortázar’s pages—romantic, intellectual, and quietly revolutionary. Much like the book’s wandering protagonist and his enigmatic muse, La Maga, this space feels like a secret meeting ground for creative souls. A modern-day Club tucked away on the edge of Colonia Americana. Tucked between quiet residential homes, the building doesn’t clamor for your attention—aside from the bold, unapologetic red letters spelling RAYUELA across the front. It’s a simple gesture, but one that sets the tone. This place knows exactly what it is. Step inside, and you're met with atmosphere—low-lit intimacy, textured walls, and an old-world charm that feels straight out of a Parisian alley or a tucked-away cantina in Buenos Aires. Your gaze is immediately drawn past the small tables up front to the long, elegant bar that stretches confidently across the room. It's the heartbeat of the space. In the back, French doors call out like an invitation—open, romantic, leading to a quiet, dimly lit patio perfect for whispered conversations and stolen glances. There’s a timelessness to Rayuela. The architecture and colonial details don’t just nod to history—they live in it. It’s the kind of place that slows you down, that makes you savor not just the wine or the food, but the moment itself. And let’s talk about the wine: curated with care, grounded in roots that reach deep into the soil of Valle de Guadalupe and other hidden gems of Mexico. Despite being a Spanish restaurant, Rayuela proudly embraces local expression, and it’s a beautiful thing to witness—and taste. The tapas? Flawless. Thoughtful, deeply flavored, and memorable across the board. The standout for me was the artichoke dish, a perfectly balanced dance between sweet and savory, bold and delicate. But truthfully, every dish carried intention. You could blindly point at the menu and land on something that would impress. Rayuela isn’t just a restaurant. It’s a feeling. A literary escape. A glass of red wine at golden hour. A conversation you wish had lasted longer. It’s the kind of place you revisit not just for the food—but for the world it invites you into.

Nice cute place. Rustic style and decor. My partner and I disagree on the dishes to order, so take that to mean all the options are pretty varied. We saw the snow trio. Risotto al azafrán y mejillones - flavorful but boring for me. Just risotto rice and mussels. But good flavor. Pappardelle hecho en casa a la crema de grana pasando y trufa negra - good flavor. Simple Clam chowder - flavorful but very heavy, almost tastes like dipping sauce. Mini hamburger - a bit sloppy. Flavorful but missing toppings. Tip: the dishes are all pretty basic and one sided in flavor profile. Lots of Savory buttery cheesy but no citrus / acidic component (cebolla encurtida, tomato, pickle, jalapeno, etc) to even it out. Get like a side salad to pair with some of these tapas to balance out the flavor profile. Wines Pozo de nieve tempranillo espana - normal I guess? A bit strong on tannin. Cuvee des galets Sarah grenache 2022 cotes du Rhone, Francia. - light bodied. Balanced. Guadiana 2019 merlot cab penedes CA - semi sweet. Would go great with sangria mix. Dessert wine. It's like a wine that tastes like sangria without the sangria. Inmigrante 2018 tempranillo petit Verdot Valle de Guadalupe México - My fav but could be because it was a fresh new bottle at the right temperature straight from the cooler. Balance. I would get a bottle.

We tried multiple tapas, some were delicious. Others were very okay. Atmosphere: the decor is quite lovely. Wine: very delicious and high quality wine. Service: Unfriendly and terrible customer service. We were made to feel unwelcomed, and as if we were interrupting, and an inconvenience from the staff hanging out.

A cute little tapas restaurant in Guadalajara with lots of wine selections. My waitress tonight was attentive and friendly; food was tasty. I ordered the mussels with gorgonzola cheese, and the black truffle pasta. The latter was so reasonably priced that I couldn't resist. I enjoyed both dishes tremendously.

Nice bar with food. Live music from 9-11pm. Lots of wine, with some beer and limited cocktail selection. The shrimp with octopus appetizer is delish.

Sushi restaurant
Juni-ko is a cozy restaurant in Guadalajara that offers an authentic Japanese dining experience. The establishment is renowned for its high-end, Japanese-style sushi, which features a selection of exquisite fish brought in specifically for the sushi bar by Chef Daisuke Maeda. The menu includes standout dishes such as Akami de atun, ramen, and tofu de edamame con chicharos organico.
This has become my go-to sushi restaurant in Guadalajara and it always hits the spot. The service is meticulous and the quality of the food is on par with high end omakase restaurants found in NYC and San Francisco. I usually go for either the omakase or one of the donburis, both of which are really good deals during lunchtime. The atmosphere is intimate with bar seating only similar to small family owned sushi restaurants found in Japan. If you are craving high quality sushi then this place is definitely worth a try!

A hidden gem! This speakeasy is very small but offers genuine Japanese food with such authenticity. We ordered the 8 nigiri option, and every single piece was absolutely delicious;prepared right in front of us with incredible detail and care. The sake was also excellent and paired perfectly with the meal. After the meal, we even got to chat with the head chef, who was the friendliest and made the experience even more special. Truly an unforgettable evening; intimate, authentic, and highly recommended.

Fantastic Omakase. Comparable to the top places in Japan. Fish was excellent.
Matthew I — Google review
This place is delicious! By far the best Sushi establishment in Guadalajara. It is the equivalent in quality and experience to Sushi Iwashi in Mexico City. I highly recommend eating here. Keep in mind that the only menu option is the omakase menu A or B, which range in price from around $1,800 MXN to $2,200 MXN per person. Definitely worth it!

An excellent place to celebrate our anniversary. The food was superb and the staff were very nice. I really recommend all the nigiri.
Cesar L — Google review
This was definitely a great experience. We ordered the nigiri omakase and it was delicious. They first serve you a salad while you wait for the nigiris. The service was great and everyone was really attentive. It was a nice touch that they let you pick out your sake cups. The nigiri themselves were all delicious. Only one had a garnish, which just shows the quality of the fish. We tried a variety of white dish which were all delicious, along with the many parts of the tuna we had. We tried two different salmons, which was really nice to compare side by side. I preferred the Scottish salmon. The meal ends with a nice miso soup. Highly recommend visiting. I also advice making a reservation in advance.

Great bar and eatery with an eclectic urban full of stickers ambiance!! It's such a cool place. The beers and drinks were super good, as well as the appetizers. Fully recommend this place, and servers seem to know a lot, so if you've never been, they will help you out!

The artist Hugo Ayvar's mystical Amerindian decor sets the stage for an unforgettable evening of Mexican-criollo fusion cuisine prepared by chef Joaquin Rodriguez. The restaurant also boasts an extensive selection of wines from various countries.
I am not a big fan of buffets but this place was exceptional! The whole staff were great, they were quick to refill our drinks and pick up our plates. Everything that I ate was very good. I especially loved the birria tacos, the salsas were amazing. The whole vibe was awesome too. Upstairs they have a tequila museum and store to buy or sample some drinks. The cooks at that food stations were phenomenal as well It is very difficult to find places that have great service, atmosphere, and great food but this is definitely one of those places! Santo Coyote: A Guadalajara Brunch You Can't Missed it If you're looking for a truly unforgettable experience in Guadalajara, you absolutely can't miss Santo Coyote. It's more than just a meal—it's an event. Plan your visit for brunch, served daily from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm. The atmosphere is nothing short of magnificent. What truly elevates the mood is the presence of live mariachi music, which fills the space and instantly lifts your spirits, setting a vibrant, festive tone. Beyond the incredible ambiance, the food selection is extensive and satisfying, offering something delicious for everyone. The staff is exceptionally attentive and professional, ensuring top-notch service throughout your visit. However, the most memorable and unique part of the experience is the opportunity to request a blessing from the resident Shaman. This spiritual, beautiful tradition makes dining at Santo Coyote a truly special occasion.

Fabulous restaurant with a mixed setting (indoor/outdoor). A couple of waterfalls surround the seating that gives off a natural & exotic feel. The only drawback with the atmosphere are the mosquitos, but staff are consistently spraying repellent. The food and drinks are very delicious. Overall the experience is great. Prices are a bit on the higher end but worth it.

Last night I had the pleasure of dining at Santo Coyote, and it was nothing short of amazing. From the moment I walked in, I was captivated by the beautiful decorations — the atmosphere was warm, lively, and full of character, perfectly balancing traditional charm with a modern touch. To start, I ordered the guacamole with chicharrón and queso as appetizers. Both dishes were absolutely delicious — the guacamole was fresh and full of flavor, and the crunchy chicharrón added the perfect texture. The queso was rich and comforting, a perfect way to begin the meal. For my main course, I had the Mar y Tierra churrasco with shrimp, and it was simply outstanding. The steak was tender and perfectly cooked, complemented beautifully by the juicy, flavorful shrimp. Every bite felt like a celebration of flavor and quality ingredients. The service was also excellent — attentive and friendly without being intrusive. Overall, Santo Coyote delivered a wonderful experience filled with great food, inviting ambiance, and top-notch service. I can’t wait to go back and try more from their menu!

Beautiful place, delicious food, super beautiful and relaxing atmosphere. Their salsa amartajada, prepared from scratch by your table, was delicious, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. I was avoiding animal protein for the night, and ordered two different soups: Crema del Negro (black beans based, with cheese and herbs, etc), y Crema Hacienda de Cortes (flor de calabaza). Both were delicious. For drink I had the Jamaica with mineral water. It was very special. The chaman of the place is a good friend of my friend who was my host. The chaman is a very friendly and interesting person. It was a great experience having him for a few minutes at our table. The service was excellent, the table was in a super high palapa that is at the end of a beautiful tropical garden with tables. They also have tables and a museum of tequila on the 2nd floor. This place is a keeper. Especially if you want to treat and cause a very good impression on your guest - or when treating yourself to a nice place and meal -. They also have a mariachi band and a folkloric ballet performing in the patio. Great artists in both groups!! Definitely, this place is a keeper!!

There were a massive amount of real flowers decorating the entire restaurant and wandering cobblestone paths that lead you through natural greenery to your table where you will experience top notch service and mind blowing delicious food. Accompanied by live entertainment by mariachi and mexican dancers. Be careful not to order too much. The servings are large.

La Pulkata is a hidden gem in Guadalajara, offering a traditional drinking experience with its range of delicious pulques. Pulque, derived from the agave plant like mezcal and tequila, may have a bitter taste on its own but becomes delightful when sampled in various flavors at La Pulkata. The bar serves "curados," which are mixes of pulque with fruits like mango and apple, as well as unique options such as coffee-infused pulque.
Awesome music and decorate, do you need to try "la tuba" and pulque

Best pulque and "curados" in town, they offer live music with local artists most of the time. This is an authentic place to get along with local people.
Dedalo P — Google review
Hidden but well known, this place is awesome. They serve basically "curados", which are mixes of pulque with different fruits like: mango, apple, etc. They also have one curado of coffee, my personal favourite by the way. They serve three sizes of curados, small, medium and large, the large one is one liter, but if you haven't tried pulque before you should go for the small or the medium sizes to try it first. The atmosphere of the place is relaxing. During weekends lots of students go there so you can easily end up talking with other people. Sometimes music groups show up and they start playing lighting up the place. Do not let the place's look mischief you, even though it is very small you will have for sure a great time.

Food - you get what you pay for. The food is cheap and you can taste the savings. It is edible. Beverages - you get what you pay for. For a beer this is fine, we did cocktails and they are cheap liquor with excess sugar. But I am not too upset by this because the price is very cheap. atmosphere - it is so loud that you cannot hear yourself think. They have tv’s that are playing music videos and it is also on a noisy street where cars are constantly passing by. It is overstimulating and anxiety inducing and you can only talk using sign language. It is more of a loud nightclub that serves food. Not a place to go if you want to do work, talk with friends or go on a date.

Servers were very unhelpful, brought the wrong order out and seemed overall very disinterested in even providing the bare minimum of service. It felt like we were an inconvenience to them, and we didn’t even order or ask for much. The cherry on top was when we paid for our meal, they just assumed the tip without asking. It was such a bummer because the food was decent, but the treatment overall clouded the experience.

On the surface, it’s got all the makings of a trendy hangout—chic design, loads of Instagram-worthy corners, and a vibe that screams “perfect for a night out.” But while it has potential, there are a few hiccups that keep it from being the knockout it could be. First off, the aesthetics? Absolutely nailed it. The space is gorgeous, with a modern yet warm feel, perfect for drinks and a chat. The staff were super friendly and made the moment feel special. That said, not all the service hit the mark. It felt like some of the team could use a bit more training. Like, if you’re out of stock on key menu items—especially wine, considering “Cava” is in the name—you’ve got to have a better explanation than “we were busy on the weekend.” The food and drinks were a mixed bag. The elote was fantastic, but some dishes didn’t live up to their price tag. Portions were small, and the flavours, while good, weren’t mind-blowing for what you’re paying. Plus, waiting 15-20 minutes for a drink when the place isn’t even busy? That’s just not on. Also, handing out an outdated menu with items they no longer serve? Rookie mistake. And then there’s the music. It’s fine, but it doesn’t exactly amp up the atmosphere. Maybe some fresher tunes could match the sleek aesthetic better. In the end, Meñique Cava Urbana is one of those spots you want to love, but the inconsistencies hold it back. It’s worth checking out for the vibe and a drink or two, but here’s hoping they iron out the kinks because the potential is massive.

Bar
Señor Stone Av Vallarta is a rock lover's paradise that also offers delicious wings, cheese sticks, and their famous brontosaurus ribs. The beer selection is taken seriously here, with no fancy combinations in your glass. You can also catch sports events while enjoying the music and food. Visitors recommend trying the cheese sticks and ribs, as well as the double burger for a carnivore's delight. The atmosphere is described as chill, with friendly hosts and good service.
Bang on the best burger in Guadalajara that I've had so far. They're double burger is a carnivore's dream. Delicious fries, drinks are good and cold, service is good & the staff is helpful. Really impressed as a university bar. 🔥🍔🔥 I'll be back for sure. 👊
Steve J — Google review
With so many great restaurants in the area, I would recommend skipping this one. We waited an hour for a food and the rribs are pre-cooked, reheated and served cold.
Belinda N — Google review
Came here with my brother after a long trip back from Tequila, it has been 3 years since I’ve sat in place and I have to say it is still great. Along with their big servings, the environment is chill and the host are kind. We ended up getting the two person rib meal which was fairly priced, I was tempted on getting a big liter of beer but the day before was a bit too much. I recommend this location if you want some good tasty ribs.
Jorge T — Google review
Excellent food, beer, music and atmosphere, will return again and again, by the way, the ribs are to die for, and our waitress besides being beautiful, very helpful
Matthew H — Google review
Excellent food, excellent service. Very popular for lunch & dinner. Reasonable prices!
Mike — Google review
A very nice place to hang out with your friends, the service is very good and the variety in the menu is very extensive, in general there is a good atmosphere
Ernes D — Google review
Music is great, the food is amazing. If you ever get to go make sure that you try the cheese stick and the ribs. The one thing I did not like is that we had a group of 8 people and the waiters were not very organized with the tables. We had to wait 40 min in different tables to be placed in one all together. Apart from that everything was great
Felipe M — Google review
Really great, tasty ribs, that are also huge! Bored of wings? Ribs are the perfect alternative. Great service and likeable place.

Great place! Atmosphere is good.. music is chill and food was really good! Our server was Omar, ask for him...he's very attentive!

Great food, atmosphere is 💯 it’s great. First round was good but the service is slow. When they come around it’s a great presentation but it’s slow

A speak easy chill bar with it’s own unique vibe tucked away adjacent to a restaurant. The drinks are creative and our service by Oyuki was phenomenal. Every drink was a thoughtful experience. If this place isn’t one of the top ten in Mexico, the creators are well on their way.

Really exquisite drinks, fun atmosphere, worth a visit, Yajir is a great guide

Lalo was an amazing server. very kind and was always checking on the table to make sure we had everything we needed!

Drinks were cute. The lychee rose had a bubble and great athletic. Our server was Oyuki, she was very nice and sweet. The Nutella dessert cake was delicious. The center bar with the chandelier was pretty. A great speakeasy to check out.
Christopher C — Google review
I had an incredible experience at Mika Bar thanks to our amazing server, Oyuki. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel welcomed and taken care of. Her knowledge of the menu and mixology was impressive — she offered great recommendations that hit the spot. Every drink was crafted with care, and her attentiveness never wavered throughout the night. Oyuki’s warm personality and professionalism truly elevated our visit. If you’re heading to Mika Bar, ask for Oyuki — she’s the best!

Club
Botanero Veintiuno Providencia is part of a chain of bars located in various neighborhoods across the city. It's a popular spot for those looking to dance and enjoy drinks, with a focus on reggaeton music. The club spans three floors and offers reasonably priced drinks, but it typically closes at 2:30 am. While some patrons appreciate the energetic atmosphere and friendly staff, others find the loud music makes it difficult to converse with friends.
Great mini burgers and potato wedges. The shrimp ceviche tostada was very good. Service was fast and friendly.
Lori L — Google review
This is a restaurant/bar, not a club. People only go here to eat. There were six security guards in the front. They were checking bags to let people in. I had pepper spray in my bag since I was arriving alone. They told me that I couldn't have it. I went and hid it in the park across the street and then tried to re-enter. They wanted to pat me down. I said no and that they could go see that the pepper spray was in the park. They didn't let me in. I left. Much more lively, cheaper, and less rude places to visit than this one.
Erika J — Google review
Tried to charge us a 40% tip 😂 Waitress tried not to show us the bill, just brining a calculator with a number and asking for cash. We had to take a bill out of her hand to check when she brought the card machine, then the waitress acted confused and offended when we wanted to take the 40% tip off. Just meant they got no tip for that behaviour, trying to con people! Check your bill carefully, they clearly do this a lot.
Catherine W — Google review
This is the worst bar when it comes to service. The bartenders are just looking on how to get the most money out of you, even with lies. They basically told us if we wanted the cheaper individual items our service would be bad, they suggested to buy bottles and buckets of beer to have better service. That should not be the case at any bar.
Luis A — Google review
Order house made potatoes chips took like 30 minutes to get they where cold seem like they went to the Oxxo to buy them like regular bag chips. Friend order a beer but change his mind wanted to change to another one even though waiter was walking toward us and hadn't open the beer told us we couldn't change. Half the beer list wasn't available.

Good music and drinks. Safe atmosphere in the area. Would definitely recommend.

The Peter Brown Bar is a great place to spend time with friends and enjoy some mezcal and beer. They have fast delivery service so you don’t have to wait long for your food. The pizzas are good, but feel a bit overpriced for their size. Overall, this bar is perfect for a night out with friends.
Neighborhood bar in Zona Americana. Young crowd mainly, mellow vibe. Recommend the Sitoni cocktail. Roof top bar not open on Monday. Don’t know why.
Martin B — Google review
Nice neighborhood spot, warm, inviting, chill vibe. Had nachos and a beer, both were good.
Itsallgooddm1 M — Google review
Quirky layout: mostly a sit-down place to drink caguamas (with tiny dance floors on the bottom and top floors). Like other places in Guadalajara, don’t expect a quick entrance — despite there being plenty of extra space. We waited about 30 minutes, only later to find out that the entire back room was empty.
Emilio B — Google review
Loovveee this bar. Music, selection and service were great!
Sharon H — Google review
The most terrible experience. We were waiting for a table for 50 min. They had two free tables but told us they were for some guests that just had arrived from other branch. Utter nonsense. The host wanted is to sit in a small shared table.

Belial, Coctelería + Cocina is a hidden gem that offers a unique blend of art, atmosphere, and culinary delights. This vibrant spot features an eclectic mix of modern art throughout its spacious interior, creating an inviting ambiance perfect for late-night dining and drinking. The cocktail menu is particularly impressive, showcasing creative concoctions like the refreshing Jacaranda. Guests rave about the gourmet tacos—considered some of the best in Guadalajara—and appreciate the attentive service provided by staff members like Shelia.
Viva Belial 🫶 A magical place! ✨Art is everywhere, the cocktails are spectacular and the food delicious. Without a doubt the best gourmet tacos in Guadalajara and the attention is first class! 💚 (+pet friendly!!!) I’m in love!!!
Denisse Z — Google review
Amazing place for brunch. Great food. Amazing cocktails. Huge, historic, quirky space. Our service by Shelia was 100% perfect
Rich T — Google review
Love the atmosphere, great music choices. The drink was perfect and the food was SO DELICIOUS 🤤
Original F — Google review
Tried the jacaranda very refreshing and filling for a drink. Love the atmosphere. The art very modern.
Koko S — Google review
Don't ask for a mixed drink. Amateurs at this place. When ice was taken out there was less than a ounce in the glass. The same drink was made with different ice and was more than three times as much. This is unacceptable, everyone at the bar agreed. There was hardly anything in the glass and the bartender refused to do anything about it. The behavior is nothing less than a joke. I hope you can understand this and can appreciate how hard I work to be able to purchase things. And trust me I noticed the effort level you put in multiple facets of your business. Best in Mexico? Nowhere even close to the top half.
JD G — Google review
I visit BELIAL for a coffee and all the concept is unique: art everywhere an the cafeteria area is super cool!

All the food I tried is super good and the atmosphere is really nice. The only thing I wish they did differently is serve cocktails during lunch, but I don’t think this applies to very many people!
