Cafe

Coffee shop
Percy and Percy is a charming café located just outside the CBD, featuring a lovely courtyard and cozy interior. Owners Elisha and Dan prioritize using the finest local ingredients, including milk from a nearby dairy and produce from local grocers. The café's relaxed atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for a leisurely Sunday morning. With ample outdoor seating and a snug backyard area, it offers a welcoming environment for both visitors and their furry friends.
We really enjoyed our drinks particularly at Percy and Percy this morning! It’s near where we are staying and the vanilla latte and hot chocolate were very good! We liked the touch of the drinks coming with a Tiny Teddy too. We ate breakfast there too, with $3 for an additional egg being a bargain and there were no big breakfasts, but everything was a decent size. The serving girl didn’t enjoy her job, but was still friendly with us and there was a great view in the autumn outside by the coloured trees.
Jason T — Google review
I really loved this cafe, a great spot for a nice and calm lunch! The Percy Cheeseburgers were juicy with lots of flavour, and the fresh apple juice was better than the supermarkets' apple juice. The food could have come a bit faster, but it was understandable considering the amount of people there. The tables were clean, the staff were nice, and despite the mass amount of customers, had a peaceful atmosphere. I would certainly recommend anyone to bring a friend or two here.
Andy L — Google review
Great place, lovely atmosphere, wasn’t too thrilled with the Persian eggs I ordered. Amazing selection of cakes and deserts on display, tried the carrot cake and loved it, it was fresh and tasty! Coffee was good. Just slightly disappointed with the toast and eggs.
Zared P — Google review
Great service, beautiful cafe, BLAT was delicious and great special price! Not giving 5 stars only because my brewed chai tea cost $8.7 (soy milk) and I think it’s way too much. This is the reason I don’t drink anymore coffee/tea when I go out. The place is really nice!
Durga R — Google review
Delicious breakfast and coffee! We had the Persian eggs (swapped tomatoes to mushrooms) and Greens eggs & ham. Staff were really friendly and accomodating with ingredient changes. Rest of the menu and cabinet looked great also
Kay K — Google review
They have mostly communal seating here, we were 'lucky enough ' to be seated at the same table as a grizzly child. Thankfully the parents were fantastic and got the child under control, so we were able to enjoy our breakfast. Hubby had the poached eggs, bacon, with tomato, spinach, feta and dukkah (can't remember what it was called) and I had the poached eggs on toast. Literally 2 eggs on one measly thin piece of sourdough toast - $15! The least they could have done is provided 1 piece of toast for each egg, for that sort of money! I had to pinch a piece of hubby's toast, otherwise I'd have gone hungry. Hubby enjoyed his big brekky at 8 Sisters Cafe alot more, but said the tomatoes were nice!
Sue A — Google review
I normally just pop in for a coffee here, whilst I’m working, and it is a fantastic coffee... But having a day off, I decided to come in for a feed. I ordered a bacon and egg roll and a homemade hash brown, which were absolutely fantastic. The egg was cooked perfectly, and the bacon was a thicker cut. The homemade hash brown was crunchy and flavourful. Service was lovely, the staff were genuinely happy to be there, and catered to my needs promptly. Highly recommended

Amazing food, I just loved it. We ordered a vegetarian bagel and ravioli and I have to say the ravioli was just perfect. Definitely try this cafe if you are going to Bendigo.

Bodies of Water
Lake Weeroona, often referred to as the jewel of Bendigo, is a picturesque spot that was once a mine in the 1850s. It was transformed into an 18-hectare lake in 1878 by the art director of Melbourne Botanic Gardens. The surrounding parkland features a shady path perfect for a leisurely 20-minute walk. Located just north of Bendigo's city center, it is also stop #4 on the Vintage Talking Tram route.
A perfect place to relax, walk or run around, step around the ducks, coffee at nearby Fox & Giraffe or lunch at The Bridge Hotel whilst staying at Quest Bendigo Central. Enjoyable all round.
Merry — Google review
The lake is quite nice, but nothing special. It’s well located in walking distance of the town and a stop on the Talking Tram Tour. There’s a cafe with a great lake view and we appreciated some of the different bird who live by the habitat, but it seemed a bit overhyped for me.
Jason T — Google review
Very nice lake. Good place to run. About 1.4km for a long loop. Shorter if you take the scenic boardwalk route.
Brendan M — Google review
Beauteous place for walking, playing, and picnic. Amazing views with great cafes around. The coffee van is also here in the car park, which is very good.
Mandy G — Google review
Went here for the Bendigo Sprint Rowing Regatta. Lovely spot. Bar and restaurant at one end overlooking the lake. Coffee and food vans. Lots of people walking around the lake.
Amanda P — Google review
A wonderful lake to walk around. This popular venue attracts dog walkers, bike riders, children, adults - just about anyone who enjoys relaxing in the great outdoors. After having a late breakfast nearby, we strolled around this very pleasant park, lake and gardens. The residents of Bendigo are indeed lucky to have such a terrific space to enjoy - as are the ducks, swans and other feathered creatures. Visitors to the city can easily see why this place is so popular. There is even a coffee van :-) Here are some photos of Lake Weeroona. Do yourself a favour and visit!
Leanne W — Google review
Lake Weeroona is beautiful. Love to come here on a Saturday and watch the rowing regattas, whilst walking around it. It has a great playground for the kids, a BBQ Pavilion and plenty of benches to sit, relax and enjoy. And if hungry or thirsty, The Boardwalk Cafe will satisfy both.

Great central location to get some exercise in. A bit of 1km loop around the lake which was peaceful of an evening. Some water available along the way for people and dogs.

Gardens
Bendigo Botanic Gardens, established in 1857, is a long-standing botanical garden that boasts a diverse array of indigenous flora. The award-winning play space within the gardens draws inspiration from Alice in Wonderland, offering imaginative play opportunities for children. The Secret Garden is a highlight, featuring hidden treasures like a mirror and child-sized mushroom table and chairs. Additionally, the Heritage Garden remains intact with shady trees and lawns surrounding a central billabong.
Incredible Space, a wonderful family pit stop or day out. We were surprised by the layout of the gardens, it is so much more than it looks like from the road. Wonderful shady playground and the fairy tree is something to behold.
Carolyn W — Google review
The newer part of the Botanical Gardens is stunningly designed. Such a joy to spend an afternoon meandering and discovering what is around the corner. Love the fresh use of australian flora. Please replace the naff suburban gardens of our most recent history with the beautiful native gardens; better for the soul and better for the creatures.
NR H — Google review
Bendigo Botanic Gardens offers a graceful mix of heritage beauty and forward-thinking landscape design. The original section, laid out in the 1850s, greets you with sweeping lawns, towering elms, and a tranquil billabong where ducks glide in lazy circles. Stone paths loop beneath deep shade, and discreet plaques add just enough historical context to make the trees feel like old friends rather than museum exhibits. Venture beyond the grand old specimens and you reach the Garden for the Future, a striking contrast full of textures and colour. Here drought-tolerant beds bristle with succulents and silver foliage, while steel pavilions cast patterned shadows across gravel paths. Even in peak summer the breeze funnels through, and the plant palette proves water-wise gardens can be vibrant rather than sparse. Families find their happy place at the Alice in Wonderland playground. Giant red-speckled mushrooms double as climbable sculptures, mirrors distort reflections for giggles, and a wide croquet lawn invites cartwheels as often as mock matches. Clean toilets, free electric barbecues, and plenty of benches mean you can easily turn a quick stroll into an unhurried afternoon. Level pathways keep the whole site welcoming for wheelchairs and prams, and clear signage points to drinking fountains and quiet picnic nooks. What lifts the gardens above the ordinary is how smoothly the old and new sit side by side. It feels as natural to rest under a century-old oak as it does to wander through cutting-edge planting schemes. Whether you want to sketch heritage trees, collect design ideas for a dry backyard, or simply let children run until they are pink-cheeked and happy, Bendigo Botanic Gardens delivers.

Maryam E — Google review
Well, I came to visit Bendigo from Melbourne. I was under the impression that this botanic garden is well developed similar to the others, but it still needs lots of work. Besides, they need to invest with different types of plants to make it more of a botanic garden. Having said that, there are a few toilet facilities, though they need renovations as some toilet seats are broken. BBQ and playground areas are ok.
Hayden — Google review
A lovely, although small botanic garden. Information labels at the base of many trees and shrubs need replacing as they are totally faded. Female toilets need upgrading! 😞

Step into the thrilling and adrenaline-pumping adventure of Central Deborah Gold Mine, a real gold mine that operated during Bendigo's gold rush boom. Visitors can experience what life was like for miners in the 1900s as they descend over 60 meters underground, exploring tunnels and historic mining equipment. The tour includes a visit to heritage-listed buildings such as the Blacksmiths Shop, First Aid Room, Carbide Lamp Room, and Engine Room.
Fantastic! Our family loved this experience! The mine tour with Nathan was so interesting and even kept the kids (13 & 10) engaged throughout! Being 61m underground is pretty cool (and always 14 degrees- so bring a jacket). The surface museum was also interesting, and the panning was great- the kids really loved finding the gems, the parents enjoyed the gold! Highly recommend!
Nicolle M — Google review
It was a great experience visiting the Central Deborah Gold Mine in Bendigo. It operated from 1939 to 1954 to a depth of 422 metres. It yielded 929 Kg of gold from its mining operations. The best part was going 61m underground with a hard hat ON to see how the gold mine workers worked in those days and how gold was mined from there. The tour guides were quite knowledgeable and kept everyone engaged throughout the tour. The Surface tour is a great way to know more about the gold mine and how things operated back in the days. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Bendigo.
Nakul P — Google review
We did the underground mine tour, with Graham, it was great!! He gave us lots of really good info but it was still fun. It was so surprisingly wheelchair accessible! They really had thought of everything we felt really comfortable with everything. All the staff were actually really friendly and helpful, and a good shop!
Laura H — Google review
Going underground at the Central Deborah Gold Mine was an unforgettable experience. The tour guides were fantastic, explaining the history and stories of the miners. It’s both fun and eye-opening — a must-do if you want to really dive into Bendigo’s gold rush past.
This.is_melbourne — Google review
Absolutely worth a visit to this fab centre, our tour guide (nathan) was superb and we he learnt so much about what life as a miner really was like. Sadly we didn’t come away with any gold nuggets but we did come away with a lot of the educational type and they’re priceless !! We booked the first tour - 10am, then took the ‘talking tram’ into town for lunch. Thoroughly recommend you doing that too if you have time
Evie S — Google review
Everyone except for me thought this was going to be boring, they were all wrong. The underground mine tour was awesome and very informative. Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. He made everyone comfortable and answered all questions thrown at him. A must-see/do if in Bendigo.

A 60 metre deep gold mine. Our guide explained everything in details. There are some big gold nuggets in display. Recommended to Book early before going
L J — Google review
Huge thanks to Nathan, our amazing guide for the 61M Underground Experience! His passion, energy, and deep respect for people from all backgrounds made the tour unforgettable. It wasn’t just a journey underground — it was a journey of reflection. Nathan encouraged us to think about the people behind the mining industry, to appreciate life, and to treat others with kindness. Thank you, Nat!

Old Green Bean is a trendy coffee spot and vintage apparel shop located in Kennington. It offers a global menu with gluten-free options, making it suitable for various dietary needs. The cafe provides a friendly atmosphere and is pet-friendly, with outdoor seating equipped with blankets for cooler months. While popular and often crowded, the delicious food and reasonable prices make it worth the visit, despite potential wait times for orders.
I discovered a hidden gem in Bendigo and had an amazing solo dining experience! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the service was outstanding. I ordered the Turkish eggs- absolutely delicious and beautifully light. The coffee was top-notch, and the fresh orange juice? So smooth and easy to drink, it was like velvet in a glass! Thank you for making my trip so enjoyable! 😊

First time in the little town of Bendigo, and I was looking for a breakfast spot when I found this place. I’ll for sure be coming back here next time.

Fantastic place for breakfast. We really enjoy coming here for coffee and breakfast, they have a nice indoor setting as well as outdoor seating and a fairly decent selection of food items on their menu. Located in the centre of town, a great stop for something to eat and drink. Highly recommended.

The coffee and food are good. It's also located right in downtown, and to me, the best part is when the sun is up you can feel the sunshine on your face, which is especially nice during the winter.

First time come to bendigo and stumble upon this cafe called Old green bean, order the hot chocolate and egg hollandaise , the drink was very nice as the latte art shows that the barista is very skilled and the food is very good too, overall this place is amazing!! This expansive 60-acre park offers lush greenery, historic trees, and beautifully landscaped gardens—perfect for relaxing with family and friends. Highlights include the Poppet Head Lookout Tower, which provides panoramic views of the city, and the Conservatory Gardens with its seasonal floral displays. We walked through the park today just because we recognised the name on the map and wow! The trees in autumn are particularly beautiful! They look very old and there is even a great view of them at the top of the hill. It’s close to the main part of town, museums, war memorial, walking paths, a cool waterfall fountain and lots of native birds.

🌸 Rosalind Park — Bendigo Rosalind Park is such a peaceful and charming spot right in the heart of Bendigo 🌿✨ The garden is filled with bright flowers blooming beautifully along the paths. I loved how calm and green everything felt, from the big shady trees to the small daisies by the walkway. It’s a perfect place for a slow walk, to take photos, or just sit and breathe for a while. The stone paths and little streams give it that classic, almost European garden vibe. It’s one of those parks that makes you feel like time slows down for a bit — simple, quiet, and full of life at the same time 🌼💚
Cindy J — Google review
Visited during the GLOW Bendigo Light Show, so only seen it during the cover of darkness. However, the artists and exhibitors really utilise the gigantic parkland space along with the paved path to connect all the art pieces together. A true gem for Bendigo.
Normandy J — Google review
Peaceful and relaxing stroll through Bendigo. The most surprising part of it is that giant fruit bats live on the trees by the hundreds. It is an amazing how many bats you will see hanging from the trees just sleeping so sound and peacefully. Lots of interesting spots for selfies and photos.

Nestled in the heart of Bendigo, this beloved establishment seamlessly blends old-world charm with contemporary efficiency, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere for locals and visitors alike. One of the most impressive aspects of the bakery is its state-of-the-art point-of-sale system. This intuitive system enhances the customer experience by displaying each item, complete with a detailed photograph, as it is processed at the register. This not only eliminates any confusion or mistakes in orders but also allows customers to visually confirm their selections in real time. Beyond the technology, Beechworth Bakery remains true to its roots as a traditional country bakery with a rich history. This place was amazing and caught us by surprise during our visit to Bendigo for Easter weekend. Ned kelly pie is a must try. We also loved the German donuts and jam donuts. Coffee was amazing as well. I would love to visit this next time when i visit the region.

We stayed across the road so ventured over to see what we could pick up for an early dinner. Well. We got the pie tasting board and loved it. Favourite would have to be the chicken and leek. No, the cauliflower. No, the Ned Kelly. No the Pepper Steak. No, the… you get the drift. All good. We went back the next morning for coffee and to pick up sandwiches for the road. Great sandwiches. Providing plenty of off street parking, indoor or outdoor seating, clean toilets and great staff, you’d be barmy to miss this bakery if in Bendigo.

Another great bakery by Beechworth Bakery. Very clean and friendly staff. It’s a large open space shop. I felt like there could have been a couple more chairs and tables as it was full. Everything we ordered was delicious and was priced reasonably. I have had good experiences at the Beechworth Bakery stores and this is an example of a successful business. Highly recommended

The Great Stupa of Universal Compassion is a large, earthen Buddhist temple in Bendigo, Australia. The structure is meant to last for 1,000 years and is modeled after the Gyantse Stupa in Tibet.
Such a great place. The Jade Buddha was very cool seeing it in person, but was off-limits due to renovations inside the temple. The information centre / cafe was great, but I think they only serve vegetarian food. Will have to look at the menu the next time I'm there.

I'm surprised this place isn't better known outside the region, and promoted by Visitor Centres further afield. It's very special and very rare. Make sure you get a map and follow the path - we were stressed when we started and peaceful and light when we finished. Everyone was friendly and helpful too. Such a precious and moving spot, especially the avenues of prayer wheels.

Such a peaceful place. Very nice statues. I highly recommend visiting this place. One can easily spend couple of hours. They have canteen which serves vegetarian food, coffee and other drinks. You can get free books on Buddhism and other topics however it's good if you can donate. There are gifts shop. Will visit again for sure. Please consider donations.

The Great stupa is the largest Buddhist stupa in the western world. It’s worth visiting if you are in Bendigo. It has interfaith peace park which promotes harmony with other religions. The Jade Buddha is the highlight of the stupa and is the largest Buddha carved from gemstone quality jade in the world. The great stupa is the same design and size as the Gyantse Stupa in Tibet.

The Great Stupa. Construction of the Great Stupa in Bendigo, a replica of Tibet's Gyantse Stupa, began in 2003 and was completed in 2020. 1981: Buddhist teacher Lama Thubten Yeshe visits Bendigo and provides the spiritual vision and master plan for the Great Stupa and surrounding retreat. 2003: Footings are laid, and construction begins on the stupa. 2007: His Holiness the Dalai Lama visits and blesses the site. 2020: The structure's top is completed, and it is unveiled as the largest stupa in the Western world. This is a unique building in Bendigo district and well worth a visit. Drop in for a meal or coffee at the wonderful spacious Cafe.

We were only in Bendigo for 2 nights and this place hadn't come up on my research but it is such a gem!! We didn't get to visit the whole gardens, we will definitely be back!! It's really wheelchair friendly, ramps, toilets and helpful staff. The food in the cafe was DELICIOUS!! really lovely shop, everyone was really friendly, can't wait to do a property visit ☺️

Beautiful serene place, a must visit. The cafe on site offered delicious food. City prices but worth every bite!

A Place of Tranquillity and Inspiration Visiting the Stupa of Compassion was a deeply enriching and serene experience. Nestled in a tranquil setting, the stupa exudes a calming energy that instantly puts you at ease. Its beautifully intricate architecture is a testament to the devotion and artistry of those who brought this sacred monument to life. The stupa is more than just a visual marvel – it carries a profound spiritual significance. Walking around the stupa, I felt a sense of peace and introspection, as if the stresses of daily life had momentarily faded away. Whether you are seeking a spiritual connection, a moment of quiet reflection, or simply a unique cultural experience, the Stupa of Compassion offers something truly special. The surrounding area complements the stupa perfectly, with lush greenery and an atmosphere that encourages mindfulness and meditation. The experience is enhanced by the friendly and knowledgeable staff or volunteers who are always willing to share the history and meaning behind the stupa, making it accessible even for those unfamiliar with Buddhist traditions. I would highly recommend a visit to the Stupa of Compassion for anyone looking to rejuvenate their spirit or simply enjoy a peaceful day in a stunningly beautiful location. It’s a gem that leaves a lasting impression on the heart and mind.

We stayed at a powered site in our van. The facilities are exceptional and the staff I met were very helpful, polite and accommodating. It is one of the best caravan parks we have stayed at and reasonably priced for what it has. The showers and toilet facilities were spotless. Exceptionally clean and very quiet. Will definitely stay there again.

This has always been a beautiful place to stay. My partner and I have stayed here before, and more recently, my mother and father-in-law stayed as well. The caravan park itself is fantastic, but what truly stands out is the incredible care and service from Rod and the team. Sadly, my father-in-law passed away unexpectedly during their stay, and the way they supported my mother-in-law was beyond kind—providing flowers, meals, a place to stay, and even refunding the trip. Their thoughtfulness helped bring comfort during such a difficult time. Rod and the team will always hold a special place in our hearts for the compassion they showed when it was needed most.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We stayed 3 days September 2025 This was by far the cleanest caravan we’ve ever stayed in absolutely spotless! The play equipment and outdoor spaces were so well designed and exciting for the kids, with every detail thoughtfully planned out. The whole environment was amazing and made our stay so enjoyable. To top it all off, the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. You can really see how much care has gone into creating such a great place for families. Highly recommend!

Was an amazing park, clean great facilities and quiet. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Beds were comfortable and lots of room for kids. The shower had great pressure and hot water aplenty. Would definitely stay again.

We loved staying at The BIG 4 Tasman Holiday Park in White Hills, Bendigo. We had a very quiet unmade caravan site close to the racetrack which was fully powered and had water. The Reception staff were very helpful and polite. The kitchen and bathroom facilities were extremely clean. Terrific Games room (The Hub) which included a table tennis.
Jules — Google review
Location is great. Cabin size is big and comfortable to still have space to relax. Will I go back with my family and kids? NO! The mattresses were uncomfortable. Kitchen and bathroom areas was not cleaned. Dried food left on plates, coffee marks on mugs. Floorboards and carpet were duty. Cleaning in this big4 park was very disappointing. Iv been to other big4 parks and there were always cleaners and stuff out and about cleaning. There was no one to been seen at any given time. Pool and sauna area was unattended by stuff during the open times. Other people were complaining about the same thing when speaking to them in the outside game and family room. Disappointing. I just wished all big4 parks had the same rules and regulations applied throughout their parks. Apart from that, no regrets on our trips but i spent time cleaning and washing which was no problem until i got annoyed because I made sure I left the place cleaner than how I walked in. Great location when spending most of the time out and about. Do keep in mind you need to do your own service and cleaning.
SEMZ G — Google review
Great location and great service from front of house to service staff. Staying in a caravan park with a week of rain not once did I see foot prints on the white tiled community bathrooms. Clean and well maintained even van sites were cleaned during the rain. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

Absolutely beautiful van park. Last time we were in Bendigo area we stayed out at Marong and reviewed that park as one of the best we have stayed in. This park is right up there as well. Beautifully maintained grounds, amenities, pool and spa area. Staff were friendly, and helpful. Bendigo itself is a beautiful city and we will be back. Would definitely stay in this park again and have no hesitation in recommending to others.

Not rating room as we stayed on a powered site. Amazing holiday park, 3 adults and 5 kids well stayed there 4 nights. Kids had a ball and we enjoyed our entire trip Staff was lovely and amazing to deal with.. highly recommended

Great park. Well set out however reception could have a bit better signage upon entry, we didn't see any obvious sign pointing up to reception because it's already such a colourful area with a lot of signs, maybe a painting on the road with Reception this way would be handy for those who havnt been before. Other than that it's a fantastic park. Ensuite sites are very practical and modern facilities. Family room in the main amenities that had a bath which was great for our youngest. The play centre is a fantastic addition and a great way to wear the kids out! A very family friendly park. It is close to a main road however the road noise wasn't really noticeable at night. The park is also located quite close to a shopping centre that has plenty of food options and supermarkets. Highly recommend this park if your travelling with kids to Bendigo.
Kerryn E — Google review
We stayed here on the weekend. The park is excellent for kids and our kids had a great time. We choose the park due to how child friendly it is. Our kids loved the play centre. The bed in our cabin was super comfy and the pillows were great I was pleasantly surprised. There was even a coffee can there on Sunday morning! We will definitely be back again, our kids are already demanding it.
Harriete N — Google review
We had a lovely stay in a classic cabin. The cabin was quite new and very comfortable. The on site play centre was a hit with my 5 and 6yo as was the jumping pillow and spa (bit cold for the pool still). This is a very family friendly place. We will definitely be back. I always travel with earplugs which helps with any noise. The WiFi was not able to be connected to, I would say this was the proximity of our cabin to the office. I got a telstra sim and we used that for our internet during the trip (Vodafone is non-existent once you head out of the city area).
Carly S — Google review
We got a glamping pod for an overnight stay. It was lovely. The bed was soft and comfy, the bathroom was tiny, but clean and the water pressure was awesome. Check in and out was seamless and easy. Thanks for a lovely stay
Jayne B — Google review
Our stay at BIG4 Park Lane Bendigo was very disappointing, and I would not recommend it. We stayed here on 28/09/2025. The cabin was clean enough, but the sofa had stains which was not a great first impression. We stayed in a premium cabin and it is complete with amenities however it is not child friendly. Many sharp edges and wooden furniture. The park does have plenty of amenities, but most of them are dirty, run-down, and in need of proper maintenance. The play centre in particular was filthy and unsafe in parts — clearly neglected. The worst part, however, was the customer service. We arrived for the 2pm check-in as advertised on their own website, only to be told our room wasn’t ready. Staff tried to defend themselves by saying check-in is “from 2pm” and that they had “32 rooms to clean.” That is not the guest’s problem. If you can’t manage cleaning on time, hire more staff. Guests should not be left waiting for rooms when you advertise a clear check-in time. And no, guests don’t get to check out “from 10am” — it’s strict and enforced. The double standard is ridiculous. To make things worse, the maintenance staff were flat-out rude. When my family went to use the pool at 9am, we were told we couldn’t because he was cleaning it and to come back in 30 minutes. This was said in an unhelpful and dismissive manner. Why on earth is pool cleaning scheduled during the one hour guests have before check-out? It’s inconsiderate, poor planning, and ruins the experience. Overall, this park hides behind its long list of amenities, but the reality is poor cleanliness, substandard facilities, and shockingly bad customer service. The lack of professionalism and the rude attitude of staff completely overshadowed any positives.
Jen G — Google review
We arrived late after closing time and they accommodated us with keys in a afterhours box. The site was easy to get our long caravan into. The office staff were very friendly and helpful. This kids play area is great and they have an indoor area too for the kids Highly recommend this place
Admin S — Google review
Spectacular spot to stay. We had a powered van site. Staff were amazing and incredibly accommodating when they had to have the indoor playground shut for cleaning, they did everything they could to make it up to the kids and got it reopened as quickly as they could. Will absolutely stay again if we are back in Bendigo

BIG4 Bendigo Marong Holiday Park offers a variety of accommodations including cabins and caravan sites for pet owners. The park is known for its spotless amenities and plenty of activities for kids, making it an ideal family-friendly destination. It's conveniently located near Bendigo but still provides a peaceful getaway experience. Guests have praised the park staff for their patience and understanding during booking delays caused by COVID-19.
This park exceeded our expectations. It was a 1 night unscheduled stop on our way to Mildura. Spoke with Kerry at reception who was simply wonderful very helpful and super friendly. We were given a concrete drive through site. It was nice and quiet although cold at night. The amenities are very modern and very clean and heated. Bonus. The camp kitchen was partially enclosed and very well equipped. We were so impressed that we had Kerry sign us up as Big 4 members, highly recommended and we will be back.

We really enjoyed our stay at BIG4 Marong Holiday Park. The Safari Tent was much cleaner and more comfortable than we expected. After a long day, it was nice to relax in the heated spa. At first we found the water a bit cold and were not quite sure how to adjust the temperature quickly. Just when it finally started to feel warm enough, the next group of guests arrived for their booking, which was a little awkward but also quite funny. The park is very family-friendly. The kids had a great time playing on the jumping pillow, flying fox, pump track, and also enjoyed basketball, soccer, and pedal go-karts. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. When our EV charging cable did not fit, they kindly provided us with a compatible one. The location is about a 15-minute drive from Bendigo town centre. Compared to the other two BIG4 parks in Bendigo, this one is a bit further out. However, since we have already visited Bendigo several times, we mainly chose this trip to explore the campsite itself, so the distance was not a big issue for us. If I had to mention one small downside, the Wi-Fi was a bit slow and watching YouTube on the TV was a little laggy. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and we would definitely come back.
Yuki W — Google review
I stayed in a dog-friendly cabin - the cabin itself is very clean, with a fenced area on the deck so the dogs can lay out there and watch the world go by. The new addition of the fenced, grassed area for each dog-friendly cabin is wonderful! The park facilities are excellent and the service is fantastic. Thank you for having us - we will be back!

We hired a caravan site at Big4 Marong, the park was clean and tidy with lots of beautiful trees and grass areas. Lots of facilities to suit everyone. The communal area/kitchen was very clean and very well set up. Amenities were always clean, and a radio playing in the ladies was a nice touch. Staff are friendly and helpful. We loved our stay and will be back. We highly recommend it. Well Done😊
Jacky V — Google review
Really impressed with the park. Owners were delightful. Great facilities for the kids; jumping pillow, soccer net, basketball, flying fox, small pump track, chess set, games room, and swimming pool. Large sites and the cleanest kitchen I have seen at a caravan park. We will be back!

We had such a lovely stay; I'd give this park 10 stars if I could! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the bathrooms and kitchen were always clean, and the family bathroom made life so much easier with a little one. My kids loved the play areas, and my husband enjoyed a nice golf session. I highly recommend this campsite and would definitely return. Thank you again to the staff for being so helpful and always having a friendly smile.

I decided on a last minute trip to Bendigo with my 2 very young children. The cabin was absolutely perfect, it was well equipped and spotlessly clean. Avondel Caravan Park, located in the Greater Bendigo region, is a pet-friendly accommodation option offering cabins and caravan sites. The park provides essential amenities such as powered sites, toilets, drinking water, BBQ areas, and facilities for caravans and camper trailers. Additionally, guests can enjoy phone reception, cabins, a dump spot, laundry services, swimming pool access, and a kids' play area. Visitors have praised the friendly service and cleanliness of the amenities at this reasonably priced park.
Lovely caravan park, very friendly and accommodating team. The powered sites are huge but the space was most appreciated. We had a site by the amenities block which was great with two kids. The pool was clean and the kids had fun here. Camp kitchen only has BBQ facilities, no stove available. One comment was the laundry is open only from 9am to 5pm. Definitely would stay again.

Great stay, small but comfortable caravan park. Bathrooms were decent. Good interactions with staff.
Thomas C — Google review
We paid $33 per night for a powered site for two people. The site was grassed and under a big tree. The amenities are good and very clean. There is a kitchen and a swimming pool. Not to mention the giant chess set. It is a 2 minute walk to the iga and other shops. About a 10 minute drive to the cbd. It's pet friendly too.
Regan T — Google review
Reading the reviews, you would think this would be a great place to stay. ****DONT BE FOOLED**** I recently stayed at the park, and unfortunately I cannot say anything good about it. The cabin I stayed in was a complete joke. The hand rail was unstable and if I had used it to get into the cabin it would have fallen off and for someone with major mobility issues it made it hard to get into the cabin. In the cabin the facilities were old and clunky. The air-conditioner was so noisy you couldn't here anything let alone sleep, especially considering it was right above the bed, not that it mattered because the bed was so bad I would have been more comfortable sleeping in my car. The floor was dirty, the sheets hadn't been change and the pillows were non existent. All this for $250 a night. It took me 3 days to recover. If you are considering staying here save your money and find a truck parking area, you would be more comfortable.

Thank you for a most enjoyable stay on a caravan site. Friendly service, amenities clean, pool, camp kitchen, games room available. Dog friendly - walking path outside the park readily accessible. Supermarket, chemist, post office, coffee shop / takeaway within easy walking distance (only minutes). Thanks again, great place to explore Bendigo from, close to the Great Stupa, would certainly stay again.
Janette M — Google review
This is an excellent caravan park, and given the competition in Bendigo very reasonably priced at $40. Excellent amenities, very nice and clean. Pool, game room, playground, laundry, no charge for showers; even a weight/excercise room. Quiet; no problematic traffic noise. Grocery store, post office, cafe, pharmacy next door. We would return at any opportunity. Kudos to owners and managers.

What a great little caravan park. I was greeted by a smiling Kelly at reception. Dog friendly. The pool is nice although the furniture needs replacing. Really good to see so much Covid cleaning fluids around the park. Had a lovely couple of days.

Nice little park with clean sites. Friendly owners easy to deal with. Not sure if they allow pets but I haven't seen any there myself. Some permanents but they're quiet and friendly. IGA and a small cafe within walking distance. Highly recommend for an easy to access quiet park, has a playground and an indoor play area for the kids too.

Bendigo Tramways offers city history tours on restored trams from the early and mid-20th century. The main tram depot operates out of the Central Deborah Gold Mine, providing an immersive way to learn about Bendigo's history and view key landmarks and monuments.
What a great place to be able to start the talking tram tour! We were able to buy tickets from the tramlike cafe that has a few seats on the inside and many varied seats for all ages on the outside. They have a mini golf course with free clubs and balls to use while waiting and toilets across the bridge. It’s particularly convenient for the hour wait between trams in the middle of the day! We had some very good scones with cream and jam and my wife’s hot chocolate was very tasty! My caramel latte looked beautiful, but I didn’t enjoy the syrup very much. The staff were very friendly and you could even buy tram souvenirs like socks there! Oh and it’s next to a free tram museum!

This quaint little hidden gem of a cafe is perfect for your after work coffee or visitors to the town who want something off the beaten path. Plenty of seating, great customer service and delicious well priced food. Gorgeous decorated interior of the vintage tram and in a perfect location, right next to the vintage tram history tour for Bendigo's hot spots.

Really good and value the money! 18$ you can enjoy the city. The driving will tell you the place that you stop, also the story of the tram. You can visit centre city, tram cafe and 2/3 places more. You can start from centre city or Goldmine or tram cafe. Wherever you park.

I was so pleased to be able to take my dog with me for this tram ride, made it an easier day for me. There are 5 places you can hop off and on to the next one. Just get the time table. There’s good info given as the tram travels along but a little too noisy from the old tram to hear sometimes. The driver had time to give us a bit of a personal history lesson which was interesting and so nice of him. Well worth doing, you can also visit the tram depot museum.

Nestled on the edge of Lake Weeroona, Whitby Bendigo, also known as The Boardwalk, offers a picturesque setting for dining and events. The modern decor and outdoor seating provide a pleasant atmosphere to enjoy breakfast, sandwiches, and salads. Visitors can relax with their furry friends on the spacious outdoor deck while savoring delectable dishes like smashed avocado and fluffy pancakes.
This venue is a true gem. The food is consistently beautiful, the atmosphere is warm and inviting, and the views are lovely. The staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming, from the moment you walk in to the cheerful wave goodbye as you leave. The portion sizes are generous, and the meals are clearly made with care and attention to detail. On one visit, there was a small mistake with my order, and the staff couldn’t have been more apologetic. They quickly fixed it and even took the initiative to offer a complimentary coffee, which honestly wasn’t necessary, but such a thoughtful gesture. We keep coming back, not just for the food, but for the level of service that really stands out. Some say the prices are a little higher than other local spots, but you're paying for quality: attentive service, a beautiful venue, carefully prepared and large portioned food, and a relaxing ambience with lovely views. They also offer fantastic vegan and gluten-free options, hands down one of the best vegan breakfasts in town. It’s fast become our go-to café, and we recommend it to everyone we know.

A lovely surprise. We were in Bendigo for the day with no thoughts about where to lunch, after a quick Google search chose Whitby for ease of parking and somewhere to walk the dog, as well as some enticing menu options. We were very pleased that the dog was welcome on the deck along with a doggie menu. Can highly recommend the mushroom ragu. The staff were also very attentive and friendly.
Peggy H — Google review
Like others have said, everything about this place was incredible. The last time my family of four visited this venue it was operated by a different cafe which was really great. So, having seen the change to Whitby's, we were initially apprehensive, wondering if we'd get the same great food and service. Well, we got a lot more than that. I've never experienced such genuine and efficient service before. The level of organisation and teamwork that was displayed made sure we were warmly welcomed, orders secured and food given in no time! The food was also on another level, the Waffles and the Benedict were amongst the tastiest of meals we've had. As stated by others, yes it is a little bit more costly than other options. But for a venue where both the service and food is exceptional, paired with lake views, it's definitely worth it.
Trent R — Google review
From the moment I stepped into Whitby in Bendigo, I was impressed. The service was exceptional – warm, attentive, and professional from start to finish. It really set the tone for a fantastic dining experience. The food arrived quickly and was absolutely delicious. Every dish was fresh, generously portioned, and reasonably priced. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they serve. What really elevated the experience was the setting. I sat out on the deck overlooking the lake, and the view was simply stunning, especially on the clear, sunny day I visited. It’s the perfect spot to relax and enjoy great food in a beautiful atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back – and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Whitby to anyone looking for a great meal and top-notch service in Bendigo!

The service was spectacular! Staff was friendly, accomodating and polite. We felt welcome. They are very inclusive. I loved that I could bring my dog. They had dog treats. We sat down out in deck. The view was stunning. Food had high quality ingredients. It didn’t come out quickly. But it was worth it. Good conversations. I would definitely recommend it. The only thing that could make it even better is to have prep food for the dogs. As the only stock treats. Thank you!
Laura P — Google review
Lovely setting with thoughtful service! This café offers a beautiful view and a serene, relaxing ambiance—perfect for a quiet meal or coffee break. The waiter who looked after us was exceptionally polite and helpful, especially when guiding us on portion sizes, which we really appreciated as we try to avoid food waste. The coffee was enjoyable. We tried the calamari and the chicken salad—while the calamari wasn’t quite to our taste, the salad was fresh. Though the food didn’t completely wow us, the atmosphere and genuine hospitality make it a place I’d happily return to.

Visitors can immerse themselves in the history of the pottery through hands-on clay workshops, demonstrations, and access to an interpretive museum and cafe. The site showcases historic wood-fired kilns and machinery while offering a glimpse into production processes.
Very glad to have squeezed in a visit here. I was interested in the history of the pottery manufacture but could only see parts of workshop as the site is still flood-effected. The antiques area more than made up for it, WOW. Best collection of beautiful old things I've ever seen under one roof in Aus/NZ—even better than The Mill in Castlemaine. Extraordinary range, very well presented and some very keen pricing. I needed to do some creative packing to take some treasures back to NZ the next day. Highly recommended if you love the quality and style of hand-made, old things.

My family visited this beautiful pottery that had a lot of things to see and learn about. There was live viewing of how the objects are made out of clay in the wheel which was really nice for the kids too see and learn about. There was an antique shop there too which was interesting to look at as the objects were quite intriguing. Staff were so helpful and charming.

Came here years ago and it was great. However since then this place has almost closed up. The driveway in is the clue, full of potholes. That said, there is a few things to see and do which isn’t pottery.
Benjamin S — Google review
We were disappointed, but it was because of the recent water damage that occurred. The museum wasn't operating because of the flood damage. And it was the main reason for our visit. We wish Bendigo Pottery success in rebuilding their museum .
Harrie S — Google review
Lots of history and local charm. Went on a cold & wet weekend, but it didn't spoil the experience. Easy self guided tour where you can see the original kilns and way the pottery worked, in days gone by and a lovely large undercover shop featuring an assortment of ceramic pieces made on premises. Great for self or as gifts. There is a cafe on site, ample parking, opportunities to do workshops if you have time and some other local artisan shops on site. Not far from central Bendigo. Do yourself a favour & make time to visit. Enjoy.

Lovely!! A great afternoon strolling around this historical place .so much to see . Cafes, shops , kids workshops, wine tasting, walking around soaking up the history admiring all the beautiful art from the local area and artists . The pottery so beautiful old style and a lovely new range so many beautiful coulours. Thanks for a lovely afternoon 😊

My parents visited here about 20 years ago and have never stopped bragging about the place, so the moment we were relocated to VIC for work, this was the first place on our bucket list for visiting. We certainly were not let down. This place is incredible. The rich history, the beautiful old kilns, the wonderful craftsmanship of the pottery and local art work is amazing. The two ladies at the front were really friendly and had a good chat to us. It’s lovely to have some gold old fashioned customer service where the ladies can strike up a conversation other than selling something. Of course we did but something …how could we not. The pottery is gorgeous. I’m coming back for the bread pot 😉 when Hubbys not with me lol.
Amy B — Google review
Bendigo Pottery is a must see if you are interested in the history of Victoria. To say its astonishing is an understatement. I was introduced to their wares many years ago, but to see where they were made is a different thing altogether. But the great aspect is, its a living museum, as Bendigo Pottery still is in operation - but not using the old kilns. A bonus is the antique shop, where there are over 40 market stalls with gorgeous antiques. On top of that is a cafe as well, with fair prices. Access is easy, and wheelchair friendly. Parking limited.

El Gordo Bendigo is a popular tapas bar located in a hip laneway in Bendigo. It offers a diverse menu with Spanish flavors, including classics like Madrid style baked eggs and breakfast burritos. The owners, Chad and Hayley, are known for their window coffees for those on the go. In addition to its brunch offerings, El Gordo transforms into an authentic Mexican cuisine hotspot during lunch and dinner hours, serving up flavorful tacos, enchiladas, and other street food.
Saw great reviews and decided to give it a try….. INSANELY GOOD 👏 Ham & Cheese croissant was nicely toasted, pulled pork wrap was done just right and the bacon & egg roll is out of the world - flavours explosion!!!! Coffee is great and very friendly staffs.

I had a fantastic experience at this restaurant! The food was delicious and full of flavor, with a great variety of dishes to choose from. Every plate was beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. The staff were super friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we walked in. They were attentive without being pushy — really professional and kind. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed meal or a special occasion. Clean, cozy, and beautifully decorated. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for great food, excellent service, and a lovely environment. Will definitely be coming back again soon!

What a delicious surprise this place was. Highly recommend the avocado (which is actually the best guacamole I ever tasted) with crispy delicious bacon on crusty sourdough. My son had peanut butter on toast, simple but delicious and creamy. My husband had the Spanish breakfast. Practically licked his plate. Coffee also exceptional. Lovely staff, especially the chef who I suspect is the owner. Unassuming little gem. Loved it and won’t go anywhere else for breakfast in Bendigo again!

Food was pretty good it was just slightly off the mark for me, didn’t nail the balance of flavour and seasoning for dishes that could blow you away. But great service!

I recently dined at this restaurant and was thoroughly impressed. The food was exceptionally delicious, offering a symphony of flavors that tantalized my taste buds. The ambiance added to the overall experience, with a stunning setting that was both inviting and picturesque. What stood out most, however, was the service. The staff was not only efficient but also incredibly friendly and charming, making our meal even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a delightful culinary experience combined with a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Stumbled upon this place, isn't that always the best way on a dreary Saturday. Ate in the alleyway. Pleasant service and really delicious food. We choose simply because we were not that hungry. The banana bread with cinnamon butter was delicious and just the right amount of bready, the other item we tried was the three cheese toasty. High quality cheese, really well toasted. It is harder to do than one might imagine. I'd certainly recommend this place, the other food we saw came out looked fabulous. Go try this if you haven't!

We had a brilliant experience tonight with an enjoyable dinner with friends. Two out of 6 of us had severe allergies, they could not have done enough to make sure we were about to have safe and delicious meals! The service was next level, they could educate other pubs/ restaurants in Bendigo how to provide a great dining experience etc that will having you coming back time after time !

Food was absolutely amazing. Perfectly cooked steak (medium). Delicious hot chips and slaw. Beer battered fish was probably the best we have ever had, light and delicate. Even the icecream was perfect. They were also vigilant when I mentioned about my daughter's nut allergy, ensuring the food she ordered was all good. The customer service and friendliness was second to none and our large group all felt welcomed. Well done!

Delicious food, amazing interior and kind staff. Prices were a little high but worth it for the quality if you have the money. Food arrived surprisingly quickly, especially since it was fully packed! Quarry Hill Cafe & Larder is a charming cafe and alfresco space located on the outskirts of the CBD. It's a popular spot among locals, offering classic breakfast dishes, baked goods, and excellent coffee. The cafe features a lovely outdoor dining area under trees and umbrellas as well as an indoor dining space. One unique feature is their special 'yappacinos,' which are dog-friendly treats served in dog bowls.
A group of us booked a table for lunch at the Quarry Hill Café & Larder. We were enthusiastically welcomed and served by Bronnie who was happy to do a little jig in the café as she helped us and the other customers at their tables. Our meals were wonderful and we couldn’t stop at just one coffee. You can eat in or outside in a purposely prepared courtyard. Well-done team! Well worth considering for a meal or just a coffee.

Been looking for a cafe with a garden or courtyard. This cafe has a lovely outside dining area under trees and umbrellas as well as an indoor dining area. On street parking not metered. Lovely friendly staff, great coffee and hot chocolate. Little cakes just the right size for kids or a small bite to have with coffee as well as full size cakes and slices. Varied menu as well. We had coffee and hot chocolate which was the perfect temperature. Definitely recommend this cafe.
Christine B — Google review
Great place for a quick coffee and sweet. Croissants and muffins at the ready in the morning along with a selection of slices to choose from. The coffee is available all the ways you might like along with a selection of milks and alternatives (soy, oat, etc). Inside and outside with abundance for those looking for a sandwich or a place to chat. Dozens of riders stop for a coffee on their morning ride with plenty of additional seating available around them. The barista was a bit stressed while we were there but it didn’t affect the coffee quality. Lil rough around the edges the morning this morning, but didn’t bother me any. The poor lad working with her had to enjoy her company though. Overall great stop along the major road for both pedestrians and motorists. Highly recommend. Almond croissants $8.50 Muffins around $5

Cannot express how impressed I was with the service of this new owner and his crew. Came in with a booking and was placed in one of the larger back rooms. Comfortable, cool for weather, light and airy, enough room to sit at table or at adjacent chairs. Food served fresh. Tasty. Worthwhile eating. Drinks were made to order. Amenities clean and smelled lovely. Shop clean. And you can see there will be changes coming so watch this shop's space! List it as one of your new faves and you will be well pleased. If you're not, the owner would like to know so he can fix it! Such a great place. And worthy of business lunches or smaller corporate meetings.

We come in here with our dog every other day, make our order and walk straight out. This has never been a problem, today we were told this was not allowed, and our dog had to be placed outside. But my questions is how was this allowed yesterday, the day before, and the week before but not today. To the man that told us to leave, if you’re having a bad day don’t take it out on us.

My friend and I visited for lunch. The young girl who served us was the rudest, most sour faced person I’ve met. When serving customers - a smile and some basic manners wouldn’t go astray. The food and coffee was average.

Lovely Cafe. Friendly service. Tasty food. I personally was disappointed when I paid about $12 for a chicken pie & asked if it came with salad. Was told it could be added. There was no mention of extra cost, but I was charged about $6.50 extra for a small bit of coleslaw. $23.50 in total with coffee.

What an amazing pub! Had the pleasure of coming for Mother’s Day dinner and after driving past for many years, I’m so glad we finally stopped to give it a go. Having been past the Tooborac pub hundreds of times over many years I’d never dropped in. People were raving about the pies so a couple of years ago I stopped for a pie. Have to say I wasn’t impressed so never went back, until, tonight when I met up with friends for dinner. Our meals were fantastic! Staff were so friendly and efficient. Our meals were brought out without delay and were thoroughly enjoyable. We will definitely be back 👍

What a delightful pub! Amazing food. I had the brisket burger and it was gorgeous. Brisket melted in my mouth! Service was awesome, kind and helpful. Beer was out of this world. Fantastic selection and the taste was marvellous. Moreover, we bought some pies and I have never been a pie girl but today, that changed. I'm eating right now their chilli with beef pie and as a Mexican, this pie is the real thing! Tasty, meat is just wonderful with the beans and the sauce, just being superb. 10 out of 10! A lovely area of natural native bushland that's nestled between houses and not-so-busy roads. It's relatively small, however, it feels good, and birds happily sing amongst the trees. There are winding paths and several streams to explore, which make it feel much larger. The streams come from the overflow of the reservoir and, in places, there are rocky causeways that are great for crossing over to other meandering paths. Some of the paths are covered with bitumen whilst others are natural earth. I really liked having that choice! Several paths open out onto the lake area of the reservoir, where there is a well-placed toilet block. From there, you can take the path alongside the water or choose another path back into the trees. There's also plenty of parking on the roads alongside the reservoir areas.

The atmosphere is relaxing and nice, the food is delicious, and the cappuccino is top-notch. The staff are friendly and great at customer service. Definitely check them out if you're in the area!
We came here for dinner after a long and beautiful hike. We were fortunate to arrive before the kitchen closed and decided to order their cheeseburger. We were also happy to see that they have New England IPA (NEIPA), which paired perfectly with the burger. The burger was juicy, and the portion of fries was just right, all enjoyed from a spot with a lovely view overlooking the city. We definitely want to return the next time we are in Heathcote. The service was super friendly, quick, and felt like home.

50 minute wait for a meal. No explanation until we asked at the 40 minute mark. Happy to take our money and just waiting for more people to come and batch cook everything. People who came well after us got served first. Made our child wait for a simple fish and chip meal that’s literally two pieces of fish and just chips. Extremely poor service - take your hard earned money elsewhere where it’s appreciated.

An absolute must. DON’T DRIVE PAST! Wish this was my local. Great rustic industrial vibe, DOG & KID friendly outside area undercover. Excellent beers, and the food was delicious. I had the vegan version of the tacos which were served with home made everything, pickled onions, zesty pesto and a curried chickpea filling. The boys had a vegan burger and a chicken burger and the cauliflower and hazelnut salad just amazing. Now for the drinks. Wow, what a fantastic selection of award winning brews and the Berried Treasure Sour was off the charts good! Service so so friendly and Owner Peter was more than happy to chat about his beers!

The view from the canola field was stunning, and the food was actually delicious. Unfortunately, our whole mood was ruined by the staff’s attitude. Instead of simply explaining our questions politely, the staff chose to respond with sarcasm and harsh looks. It completely killed the vibe and even our appetite. Good food can’t make up for a service experience that feels disrespectful.

Food is awful. The rib was rupulsive, pulled pork burger was gross, chips soggy. Outdoor area has so much potential - but feels like a prison yard. Such a shame. Selection of beers were good though - would strongly suggest yall change the menu and keep it simple if meat has to be frozen to keep up with demand. No shame in having nachos, cheese boards and toasted sandwiches at a brewery. Cheap and don’t require a freezer or a microwave.

The arancini here are THE BEST. So crunchy on the outside but soft and fluffy on the inside. We also ordered the gnocchi which was really soft and the sauce was nice, though the serve was quite small. The pizza was good, I really like the crust, but it definitely needed a bit more sauce. Service was good and sitting outside was great. Although something needs to be done about all of the wasps that were hanging around :')

Spacious brewery with good beer offering. We had three tasting paddles between the three of us so i think we managed to cover all the beers. Lots of seating inside and out. Live music.

The zucca pizza was one of the best I’ve ever had, beers and other pizzas were delicious, venue amazing but have to dock 1.5 stars because of no high chair. Hard to enjoy meal and beers when toddler continuously falling off chair trying to eat, making mess, trying to run around etc. get a couple of wooden high chairs and it’d be a 5 star experience.

Fantastic Brewery and Restaurant at The Mill, Castlemaine What a gem! This brewery and restaurant at The Mill in Castlemaine is an absolute standout. There are heaps of brews to choose from, catering to every kind of beer lover—from crisp and hoppy to rich and malty. The meals were exceptional—a refreshing change from the usual pub or gastro-pub fare. No Parmas or stock-standard burgers here. Instead, the menu features inventive, modern Australian with Italian influences, and every dish we tried was full of flavour, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care. Such a welcoming, creative space, perfect for a relaxed lunch, dinner, or just sampling some local craft beer. Highly recommend!

Had a great meal at Shed Shakers last night. Was looked after by Lizzy, who did a great job. We had a few laughs, and she gave us some great tips on what what to get up to while we were here. Had a beer paddle, and all the beer was cold, wet, and beer like. The food was all well seasoned and tasty. Great atmosphere, open mic night looks like a great regular event. Thanks, team!
Adam J — Google review
Good range of taps. Wish they had at least one cider on tap though (they had a range of canned Harcourt ciders which was good, but a tap cider is always better in my opinion). Had 3 pizzas which were all great, La Luna was the stand out for us and we'd order it again next time.
Ben T — Google review
I've been to Shedshaker before and the new premises and food are great. However, we went last night at 5 with music starting at 5. The queue for ordering drinks and food was a shambles. the music so loud that the very rude woman taking orders made us uncomfortable because she couldn't hear what we were saying but made us feel it was us. The whole experience was spoilt due to the sound level of the music, none of us could hear each other. Like more than loud, but really really loud, which is not what you are looking for as a dining experience at 5pm on a Sunday evening with children. Staff were a little belligerent. Food was very good.

The Bendigo Showgrounds Market is a popular weekly event held at the Prince of Wales Showgrounds in Holmes Road. It offers a wide variety of new and used goods, as well as food, coffee, and fresh produce. The market has a family-friendly atmosphere and is dog-friendly in outdoor areas. In addition to the regular market, there is also a monthly Bendigo Farmers Market held on the 2nd Sunday of the month.
Didn't expect it to be as big as it was. Lots of stuff and a decent few places to eat. The stand doing the egg and bacon rolls are the bomb. I haven't eaten so much bacon in my life for $9. Gave us the energy to go explore the huge market.
Tash M — Google review
Attended the Bendigo Showgrounds Market and was thoroughly impressed with the market set up. This is a very large market and you can easily spend a couple of hours here on a Sunday morning. Grabbed myself a toasty hot baked potato which was perfect for a wintery but sunny cool morning.
Normandy J — Google review
We spent a weekend in Bendigo and decided to head to the showground markets. So glad we did! It’s huge which so much diversity in stalls. Lots to eat & drink. Upcycled clothing, tools, plants, produce, vinyl records and so much more. Highly recommend as a free family activity. ATM located at the front on the showground as store holders only accept cash.

Every Sunday, people go to shopping or visiting this market. It's a beautiful and famous culture of Bendigo and I really enjoyed the time I've been here. Will come back ASAP
THỊ B — Google review
While visiting family we went to this market, it was fantastic!!! Old school type markets with lots of bargains and treats.
Chelsea — Google review
Lots of stalls but I think I was hoping for more unique handmade items. More of a car boot vibe then a market. But still worth popping in and having a look if you are in the area
Alison R — Google review
Super low value items, not priced cheaply, mostly stock not worth sale or purchase off Facebook marketplace. Food is not cheap which after walking around is the main thing you will want to buy. Has coins, chickens and a few interesting stall holders who are good characters for a chat. If you are not interested in chatting to the locals then there is basically nothing representative of value here, instead head straight to the RSL and ask the local personnel to help you carry the kids all the way home

Pub
The Redesdale Hotel is a family restaurant that welcomes dogs! The pub has a large outdoor seating area and is perfect for dogs to enjoy some quality time with their owners. There are also water bowls available so your dog can stay hydrated while they're spending time in the pub. Keep an eye out for meat scraps buckets in the kitchen, as well as treats from the kitchen meat bucket, as these may be available to your dog if they are behaved.
Talk about a great country pub that knows how to look after their guests! If you are driving through the area, highly recommend stopping for a terrific meal and a drink. The team are incredibly friendly and polite. The service was excellent despite being packed out inside and out. Seating outside is perfect for a summers day! We ordered the risotto and steak sandwich off the specials menu as well as the beef burger and seafood spaghetti off the regular menu - outstanding!! The portion sizes were ENORMOUS. Well priced meals too. We also got a side of garlic bread and dips, really good.
Abhinav B — Google review
The French waitress was gorgeous, wicked sense of humour and very welcoming. The meals were generous and beautifully presented, tasted amazing best burger meal I have ever had. Loved the old world feel and the front bar full of friendly locals, will be back again soon.
Yashmin B — Google review
We recently visited The Redesdale, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. The country charm of this place immediately made me feel at home. The highlight was definitely the large, tasty main meals—generous portions packed with flavor, perfect for anyone with a big appetite! The service was equally wonderful; the staff were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was just right. On top of that, the facilities were spotless, which is always a good sign of a well-managed establishment. Whether you're looking for a hearty meal or just a great pub atmosphere, I highly recommend The Redesdale!

Thankyou Beth Garth Bethany Gabe and staff for such an amazing fun night with superb food exceptional friendly service and lovely country ambiance. We rank The Redesdale Hotel as number one and it is a perfect setting for special events. How lucky we are to have you as our local!!
Robyn A — Google review
Quite a large dining area. Locals obviously like it as it was quite busy. Local alcohol was available but quite pricey. Food servings were quite generous, steak was good, pizza also good. The lamb's fry was a little overdone though. Service very good and friendly. Overall, a mist enjoyable night.
Kl P — Google review
This is a humble local style place where you get basic pub fare without pretentiousness or snobbery. The menu is limited but what was served was tasty, good sized and appropriately priced. The main bar of a Friday night was filled with local workers and farmers having a drink. Staff were happy and engaging and our waitress was polite smiling and attentive. Our entree and mains appeared quickly. The establishment has a fair bit of history as it very old but not a lot of ambience. Not a venue you would intentionally seek out for a meal but if nearby worth a visit for a beer and a drink.
Jeff O — Google review
Food service and atmosphere all 10/10 We each had steaks, cooked perfectly. Incredible sides. Garlic bread is a must! Can’t wait to go back
J J — Google review
It's a great spot for lunch. It's probably worth ringing ahead just in case, as it gets busy. We had a few things off the menu, which were barfold olives, sweet potato fries, salt & pepper calamari, and duo of dips. All were excellent. Beer was cold too! We will go back. Highly recommend if you like pub fare. 9/10.

One of the best dog parks in the Country. Acres of beautiful land with trees and shades, seats available for those who would like to have a rest, 4 ponds for furry friends to swim, ducks and birds all around; poo collection bags and bins are kept there by the Council; Overall its a great park.

Fantastic dog park, best I’ve been to for dog, very large area for them to run and explore. Dams to paddle or swim in too. If I lived in Bendigo this would be my doggie go to. Well done City of Bendigo, fantastic community asset! The only reason I gave 4 stars; no human toilets available.
Geoff G — Google review
One of the best dog parks we’ve been to! So much space and natural environment for pups to sniff and roam!
Katarina S — Google review
This dog park is amazing!! Definitely the best l have ever seen. We were able to take a beautiful walk through the bush, without having to worry about our beagle following a very interesting scent and taking off. It is fully fenced, so relaxing, lots of walking paths, dams, creeks, bridges and trees. Even seats for those that would like to rest and plenty of fresh air and shade. Our beagle, Daisy, just loved it. Plenty of hills to climb up and down, rocks and bushes to sniff around and even a large, separate area for small dogs. Congratulations to the Bendigo Council for providing us with an outstanding dog park. I wish that many other councils in Melbourne would follow your lead.
Julie S — Google review
One of the best dog parks I’ve visited. This park is huge and fully fenced too. There is a small creek in between hence walk bridge. They even have another fenced section for smaller dogs. Plenty of room for dogs to run around and there’s poop bags and a water fountain at the park too.

This pet-friendly motel ensures a welcoming atmosphere for both you and your furry friends. Guests have praised the cleanliness of the rooms and the comfortable beds, making it an ideal choice for travelers seeking a cozy stay without breaking the bank.
It's basic decor but very clean. Had smart tv, Wi fi, toaster microwave, facilities to wash plates, cutlery etc. Great location for exploring Bendigo. Pretty quiet at night. Lovely hosts. Recommended booking direct with them, not through a booking site.
Cassandra B — Google review
A little dated but immaculate and very well maintained, very comfortable with wall heater and aircon, smart TV. Fridge, microwave etc. Happy to recommend to travellers with pets and will definitely stay there again.
Dave F — Google review
A good affordable motel just outside Bendigo. Very useful as a nights stop on the way to Mildura. Very 1970s vibe but my room had broken curtains & also a broken toilet lid but otherwise everything was functional and not too noisy until the trucks started in the early hours of the morning. The shower was fantastic, great pressure & temperature too. Close to food with KFC within walking distance & McDonalds back down the road by car. As I checked in after hours I didn’t see any employees & the next morning when I spoke to the cleaner, he didn’t seem to understand my question so I just dropped the keys off in the lock box.
Casey L — Google review
Absolutely disgusting. Will never go back. Toilet wouldn’t flush properly, huge crack in toilet lid, curtains hung with zip ties or shower curtain rings, net curtain ripped, lock broken on front window. Had to put my toothbrush in track so it couldn’t be opened from outside

Nice cosy room. Aki is responsive to my enquiries prior to the stay. He also proactively recommended us nearby eateries and a park which we went the next morning. Nice walk in the park, so many birds and friendly park goers.

While some guests have noted minor issues with cleanliness and amenities, others have praised the friendly service and exceptional sleeping experience. With its convenient location and welcoming ambiance, the Calder Family Motel is an ideal choice for those seeking a pleasant stay in the area.
I love a 3 star morel and this is perfect. On High Street but there are two rows of trees to keep it nice and quiet. The motel is almost empty so the Boss, who told he's new to the game, bumped me up to the Business room with a fancy couch. Massive TV, huge bed, bathroom and kitchenette are perfectly functional. It's even got a proper dining table. I've got my Netflix on the big screen and I'm settled in for the day. I travel a lot and have my favourite motels and caravan parks and now I've found my Bendigo motel.
Tom H — Google review
I was disappointed by the accommodation over the weekend when it was more than $180 overnight to sleep 3. The sink/washbasin had no towel to wipe dishes. There was one cup and one dish for three adults. There was no bathmat, no hand towels, just bath towels. The bedding quilt had no cover just made up between sheets. The quilt was unclean and spotted with blood stain. The room was very old and carpet edges frayed or eaten in places. As the website has no contact option this is the only way to let the owner know. I was one of 3 guests and I paid over 60 dollars for sub standard facilities. A refund of a portion of our payment would be fair, given that the accommodation was very basic.
Lori H — Google review
On arrival the reception office was closed, at 2:30pm, and I was greeted by a girl in the carpark (after waiting 10-15 minutes for her), in her pyjamas with the keys, super unprofessional and not very welcoming at all. Upon entering you could see the room had not been cleaned properly. The tiles were dirty and I found a piece of broken glass on the floor in the entrance. Walking into the bathroom, the door wouldn’t close and it smelt awful. I then found the toilet bin had not been emptied and was full of other people’s used sanitary products….. There was a hole in the wall where there would have been a smoke alarm (as it was in the second room) making the room quite cold. There was a second smoke alarm but I couldn’t see a light so unsure if it was working. Major safety concern. The skirting around the shower was rotting and falling off, water pressure was low as well. On a positive note, the bed was rather comfortable considering everything else was disappointing.
Logan P — Google review
Unfortunately due to the annual swap meet we had to pay 230.00 per night. This motel is not worth anywhere near that amount even in peak times. Seems to have some permanent resistance that argued one night. Walls are thin and you can here everything going on in the next room. Was very clean though even though it is old.
Darrin A — Google review
The room had not been cleaned properly, on entering you could see marks all over the wall opposite the door and the TV was covered in dust. The toilet had a handbasin fitted on the cistern which was filthy from not being cleaned and water laying in it. The shower drain also appeared to have rubbish under the grate. Some power points were not working and loose and electric blanket would not work on any power point
Di H — Google review
We rang to book and the gentleman was very helpful but that is where it ended. There was no milk for drinks and no complimentary biscuits and barely anything else.We went to have a shower and obviously had not been cleaned as there was half empty bottles of shampoo and used soap still in the shower. On a positive note; The bed was clean and comfortable and very big.
Gail P — Google review
Older style but exceptionally clean and well presented Motel. It's a few ks out of town but that gives it a very relaxed atmosphere. Managers are fantastic, very friendly and helpful with local information. Good supermarkets and shops and takeaway across the road. It's my choice when in Bendigo for work. I wrote this 4 months ago, unfortunately no longer correct. Will not return. Bed looked like someone sat on it, glasses where dirty, and an old used sponge to do dishes. Yuk.
Steve P — Google review
Had a wonderful couple of nights stay at the Calder Motel. The owners were so friendly and helpful, gave us everything we needed when asked. A nice off leash dog park with all basic amenities. Ample car parking spaces in the front. There are undercover seating at the east entrance, water fountain for owners and dogs, separate play spaces for small and large dogs, ample walking tracks; lacking footpaths though which will attract more users in future if provided. City shall consider providing a retardation basin or a small pond/dam for the pets which may add value to this place. A wonderful place.

Wow, what an awesome dog park 🤩 There are 2 sections - a fairly large fenced area for smaller dogs as well as a second huge fenced area for bigger dogs! It is totally secure with two gates to enter the park. I took my 2 Westies there this morning and we went into the smaller dog section, where I could take their leads off and let them run around and play with other dogs. They had the best time and I'm kicking myself for not going there sooner. I will definitely be taking them back there soon 😊

Great park but if you have a labrador too much water around. We were travelling through and stopped to give our dog a run. Didn't see the water at first but our dog did and ran straight for it and rolled in the mud. These sites need to be well drained and maintained.

Surprised at how professional and we'll thought out this park is (ranked against other shire/rural dog park standards). Bins was present and emptied. Water onsite (via a fountain and a catchment tank). Seperate 'Small' dog area. Nice walking trail down the centre of the main area (the icing on the cake would be if this was a circular track). Some seating, no shade presently (tree or otherwise). Few large tree trunks placed around - which the dogs loved. Small tunnel/hill for running through. No waste bags I could see - few rouge accidents around, need your own bags and pick up after your pups. Noting there was a bit of water about (visited in winter) to one side if you're concerned about wet dogs. 5 stars for a good place for a run while day tripping. (Let them burn their energy before walking the Pink Mountains).
