NoSoloÁgua Portimão is a stylish beach club and restaurant located on the main beach of Portimao, Praia da Rocha. The venue consists of a beach bar on the waterfront and a restaurant on the Marina side, both offering a sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere. Guests can enjoy delicious food, live entertainment, and vibrant parties during the summer. The beach club features saltwater pools and attentive staff, making it an ideal spot for special occasions.
What a find! We were there on a Friday afternoon and were fine getting a table for lunch but it was off peak, I can imagine this place is rammed in the summer holidays. We enjoyed it so much we booked a day bed for the next day. Perfect way to waste away a day on the beach. Cocktails were amazing, sangria even better and the food was really good.

Pretty good food, tasted pretty fresh - nothing to write home about. Service was a bit slow but the views and the atmosphere make up for it - can’t beat watching the waves 🌊. Dessert was a bit odd and underwhelming. I’d say the Food was pretty secondary to the views and the atmosphere in my opinion. We sat by the pool so it was a lot quieter, the beach section sounded a lot rowdier.
Barbora B — Google review
Our experience was good. The food was tasty, was served rapidly. It helped there was not packed with a lot of people. There were many waiters and were attentive to serve our needs and to take away the empty plates. The atmosphere was good with ambient music and very close to the beach , just the restaurant is by the beach, Good experience . From our side we recommend it.

We booked the Opium beds in the VIP area and it was such a great experience! The staff were super quick and attentive, always checking in. The food and drinks were delicious, and the whole vibe of the place was amazing. The pool was definitely a highlight — it’s salt water so you can float so easily, which makes it extra relaxing. What I loved most is that in the morning it felt calm and chill, then as the day went on the music got louder and it turned into more of a party. Perfect balance of relaxing and fun. We’ll 100% be back next time we’re in Portimão!

Spent some quality time on one the the full size sunbed which was €50 for the whole day, staff were very quick to serve, went for the Sushi which was good, cocktails were well prepared, finished off with 2 lovely deserts. Had a mid afternoon Red Sangria which had a lovely punch to it. Sea was so refreshing after a few hours in the sun. The setting is great and the decor and seating is great.

This place is a must visit!!! The vibes here were impeccable. We rented the opium king bed for the day and it did not disappoint. The scenery was amazing, we had such a nice view of the ocean. Finally, the food was so delicious and reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend this spot and will be returning.
Matthew M — Google review
Gorgeous place to spend the day. Quality food, friendly staff, and comfortable wide sunbeds. Highly recommend the sushi and bao buns. Book the beds in advance however. Can also hire towels for €5.
Johanna C — Google review
We found this place while walking around. The beach/ restaurant is beautiful, we went on a Monday and were able to get two sun beds for the day, we also had a baby with us which was no problem. The staff went above and beyond for us, we booked in for lunch and the sushi was amazing. We had the best day!

Boogie Bar is a lively karaoke spot that attracts a diverse, international crowd. The unpretentious atmosphere is adorned with fairy lights and glitter balls, creating a fun-loving late-night vibe. With TV screens for sports fans and an inflatable goal for big match broadcasts, the bar offers something for everyone. The warm and welcoming staff make visitors feel right at home, while the energetic atmosphere keeps the good times rolling.
What a fab place! We went last year and couldn’t wait to go again this year. The staff are absolutely amazing and every one of them made us feel welcome. We went so many times for the karaoke as it had such a good atmosphere but it really is the staff that make it what it is. Can’t wait to go back again when we are next in Portugal.

Exactly what a beach bar should be! Drinks are typical, but staff are anything but! Warm, super friendly, welcoming, and make you feel at home immediately. The vibes here are just fantastic. Love the atmosphere. Lots of energy, lots of smiles, and everyone (bartenders and guests) always seem to be in high spirits having a legit good time. Not my usual type of place, but I have been back multiple times since the vibes are so on point. Honestly one of my fav spots in Praia da Rocha.

Small tiny little place that charges 5 euro a shot of hennessy then tried to charge 4.50 euros for a mixer. Don't understand what this place about ??? Maybe its because its November and out of season but that shouldn't mean they can over charge customers. I like to leave a honest review and got to say it was only 4 euro for a bottle of corona and that's pretty good and the reason for the 2 🌟 instead of 1.

Best karaoke place for me! I love karaoke, and most of the music I want to sing is available! Best staff~ One of friendliest~

Restaurante Rei das Praias is a must-visit dining spot in Algarve, located on the serene Praia dos Caneiros. This seafood restaurant has been serving patrons since the 1970s and continues to impress with its fresh catches and warm service. The picturesque setting offers stunning views of the Atlantic, adding to the overall dining experience.
Cracking fish restaurant, beautiful views, lovely celebration for my mums 65th. Lovely orderves, Monkfish kebabs were superb and one of the best Beef carpaccio I have ever had, just superb
Anthony S — Google review
We started with the couvert, something I rarely order, but it was absolutely worth it, along with a refreshing oyster ceviche as our starter. For the main course, we had pargo (a type of fish) that was perfectly cooked and delicious, served with a simple yet flavorful tomato and onion salad, grilled baby potatoes, and a shrimp “cachorrinho.” The service was excellent—our waiter, Filipe (if I recall correctly), was attentive and friendly. On top of that, the restaurant offers a stunning view of the beach. I definitely recommend heading up to the rooftop to make the most of it. A great spot for both the food and the atmosphere!

What an amazing place. Locally owned and not crowded. We had the best oysters and risotto ever in my life. And the view and breeze just tops it off!

4/5⭐️ Visited: October 16th 2025 (~13:00h) Order: 0.75l Sparkling water (4,50€), Passion Fruit Mocktail (6€), Rei das Praias Aperitif (7€), Rei das Praias Vinho Branco (7€), Couvert (8,40€), Cheese (4,50€), 2 Oysters (7,80€), Arroz de Marisco (59€) Food: - Drinks were very good through and trough, although a real non-alcoholic aperitif would have been nice, as the mocktail was not sparkling -Couvert: - three different types of bread, all very nice and quite different from each other - beetroot cream cheese, a little too sweet, could have used some acidity and a little more salz, but still tasty - two different kinds of fried meatballs (1 each), taste was ok, but they looked crunchy and were very soggy and not fresh enough, lowlight of the meal - olives, very tasty - cheese was also quite good, but quite a lot, considering the portion side of our main dish - oysters were served with fresh lemon, homemade piri-piri oil and tabasco, just used the lemon, very good quality Arroz de Marisco - served on a small chair next to the table in a pot, the waiter scooped our first portion on our plates to present it in a nice way - mussels, clams, piece of crab, shrimps all cooked very on point - amount was not well balanced, the waiter put most of the seafood on our first serving to make it look nice, which we only realized when we later opened the pot for seconds and there were only two shrimp and some clams left - rice could have cooked maybe 2 minutes longer, but it was at the beginning of al dente, so not a dealbreaker - the tomato based soup had a very natural flavor which was complemented well by the boiled seafood juices - huge portion after all of the starters it was very hard to finish Service/Atmosphere: - very friendly staff - vibe of the place is amazing, feels chique without being pretentious, especially when sitting on the rooftop with a view of the beach (not the prettiest beach in Algarve, but nice nonetheless) Verdict: We could have eaten less starters for more stomach space, but apart from the meatballs everything tasted great. The arroz de marisco was very tasty, even though the rice could have been cooked a little longer and the waiter could have left some more seafood in the pot for a second serving. Pleasant experience over all. Rating system: 0⭐️terrible, nobody should eat this 1⭐️ disappointing but edible 2⭐️ fine, nothing special, works if there are no other options 3⭐️quite tasty, might visit again 4⭐️ delicious, visit was worth it 5⭐️ amazing, will/would eat there regularly

Very bad experience, I booked the corner table for Sunday on Friday, but someone takes the table when I arrive on time! I triple checked the corner table that we could get. Then we spent our whole afternoon in the beach waiting for the dinner and sunset. The staff only told me it’s her problem she did not see the notices. I should wait for less than forty minutes. I do not what’s the massage used for? I did not see any services when the problem happened. No solutions, only waiting, the why I need to book in advance? Even I got the confirmation for the table!
王金华 — Google review
Our first time and to be honest a somewhat mixed experience. Booked a table and were greeted by a grumpy what I assume is the manager/owner given the impression that we were fortunate to be let in. Service from the waiters was friendly and faultless and the food was of exemplary quality. Nice cool vibe with DJ set starting at 8pm but in no way impeding on the dining experience. Not cheap and although fresh seafood deserves to be paid for, there are other restaurants in the area that serve fresh fish at more attractive prices accompanied by a kinder priced wine list. Premium presumably linked to the fantastic setting.
Theo K — Google review
Amazing sea side restaurant. The service and the food were wonderful. Loved the oysters and the freshly caught red snapper was out of this world.
Thomas H — Google review
We went here 2 times in 3 days. First was a celebratory birthday lunch for my fiance. Amazing food, wine,,service and view. Have to say i was intrigued by the Brandy Alexander on the menu. Hadn’t had one in decades. Drank TWO. When we returned the second time we sat at the top level - just drinks. Yes…i had THREE (i was not driving!) We thoroughly loved this place. NO seaweed on the beach either! Pristine. Best views!

Club Nau is a fantastic beach bar and restaurant located on the beautiful Praia Grande in Ferragudo, offering stunning views of the sandy bay and ocean. It provides a relaxed and rustic atmosphere, perfect for enjoying delicious seafood while basking in the captivating sunset. The venue offers an excellent dining experience with optional vegetarian sushi and beachside cocktails. Visitors can also enjoy chilled house music played by a DJ on the beach, adding to the overall delightful ambiance.
It's one of my faves beach spots in Algarve! Delicious food, fantastic atmosphere, and even better Sangria! Everyone is super friendly! They have live music most of the weekends as well with the best beach dance floor! Highly recommend! Perfect for days hangouts or evening meal! For dinners, bookings are advised as this place fills up quickly!

Club Nau on a Sunday is an epic experience! The live music is always a highlight, guaranteeing a fun time with friends. I've been a number of times, and it never disappoints. The sushi is fantastic, especially the tempura king prawns with kimchi mayonnaise – a must-try! While the cocktails can be a little inconsistent, and the service occasionally slow, the overall experience is a blast. The staff are great, contributing to the lively atmosphere. If you're looking for a fun-filled Sunday with great music and food, Club Nau is the place to be!"

Absolutely one of the best meals that I ever had. The food was delicious. The service was impeccable. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Really good timing of food coming out. Great portion sizes. So many different food choices. I’d highly recommend you not giving this a miss! It’s fantastic.

16.3.25. Sunday. The heavens opened. So much rain. But in Club Nau you wouldn't know it was blowing a hooley and raining outside. The singer was great. The food fab and the attentive help from Ricardo and Esta was just what was needed. Never felt rushed. Loved the night. We went on the Friday before and that was the same. Sunday at the end I had another friend jump on my lap it was the resident Cat. Seemed to take a liking to me . If you don't like cats they will remove it but for some reason it was a lovely cat. Hope to see Ricardo, Esta and the cat again. First photo is Ferragudo from Vitors Village.

Well located by the beach, this spacious Portuguese / Japanese restaurant serves pretty good food in a beautifully chill environment where you can enjoy your meal and cocktails with your feet in the sands 😍 they also have several high chairs for toddlers so it's really kid friendly 👌
Jean-Baptiste F — Google review
A great place for sushi and live music. Make sure you check the schedule and pick a night when a band or musician is on because it gets very lively and fun. Especially in the summer months. The sushi and poke bowls are also fantastic. And they do good cocktails. I’d recommend booking in high season.
Emma — Google review
Staff, so attentative, engaging, warm, happy, professional are just a few of the terms I would use. Food outstandingly delicious, the choice of foods & beers & cocktails brilliant. Then there was the entertainment a young amazingly tallented lady & her band, kept the dance floor filled, outstanding night out, plus there is an extensive outside area too, just dropped a star on what it cost, but put the location, parking, disabled access probably could be a little challenging but they probably have a plan in place to cope with that too, view & sunset breathtaking. So probability should be 5stars.

The food was absolutely amazing and incredibly fresh, with each dish bursting with flavor and beautifully presented. The atmosphere had a fantastic vibe—stylish yet relaxed, creating the perfect setting for a memorable night out. Great service and excellent food!!! Nunu was wonderful and very kind, as was Vanessa, the Young lady with a British/Portuguese accent, and all the other servers!!! Very friendly and professional! We tried the peanut pate, housemate…OMG…to die for! We also had the garlic shrimp and Tomahawk Steak for 2, could have served 4…the portions and sides were huge!!! It was delicious!!!! Thank you all! Highly recommend!!!
Linda H — Google review
Completely unprepared and slow staff. The service is absolutely despicable or nonexistent. We had to work on our patience, waiting a long time for someone to come to our table to take our order. After this, we waited even longer to get our drinks, even a bottle of water. At the time we were there, only a few tables were taken, so it was not busy at all. Despite at least five staff members being around, everything took a long time. We ordered starters (ceviches) and had to send them back because they tasted spoiled. After this, we waited at least 40 minutes to get our main courses, which was another disappointment. The fish was tasteless, the beans tasted like curry, and the entrecôte was overcooked and therefore hard. The waiter messed up the sides for some of the dishes and missed some thing, as the service was poor we did not even manage to have it sorted. To be honest entire experience was extremely disappointing. I would never go back, and I would not recommend the place at all. The atmosphere of the restaurant was fine, but the poor service and clueless half-asleep staff totally destroyed the experience.

The sushi Chef’s Selection was so good that we ordered another one! The variety and flavors were so different that we enjoyed every bite! The staff were so kind, and the wine recommendation was amazing! Thank you to the staff and highest compliments to the chef!

Great sushi experience at Meshua. From the deco, the staff and the food, all was perfect. The price was fair, 35€ per person with green wine. Will come back for sure.

Gorgeous place, very attentive and friendly staff, Vanessa was a delight she only made our evening better, we had a dry vinho verde (perfect) and the oysters were extra good! The tuna tartare is a must.
Lara G — Google review
Chose this restaurant as last day in Portimao and didn’t fall to exceed my expectations. As a starter we had 3 tacos carnitas which is a must (would have preferred to come 4 to have an even share) and 6 gyozas. As main dish we had picanha which comes slightly on the red side but you cook it on a hot stone to your liking. The main dish had rice, beans, fries and grilled pineapple which accompanied the meat to perfection. Dessert we had their version of crème brûlée with popcorn, however I wasn’t impressed. Overall, very good food, worth to try it if you are in Portimao.
Cristina G — Google review
A Culinary Gem at Meshua - Exceptional Experience from Start to Finish! I had the pleasure of dining at Meshua in Portimao, and it was an absolutely outstanding experience! From the moment I reserved my table, the process was seamless and efficient. The warm and welcoming reception set the tone for a wonderful evening, and the service throughout was impeccable—attentive yet unobtrusive, making us feel truly special. The ambiance is stunning, with a beautifully designed interior featuring large windows, stylish wicker furniture, and lush greenery that creates a relaxing atmosphere. The food was a highlight—starting with beautifully presented oysters adorned with caviar and lemon, followed by a perfectly grilled meat dish served with fries and a delightful pineapple side, and ending with a decadent home made dessert featuring creamy textures and a rich sauce. Each dish was a masterpiece, bursting with flavor and beautifully plated. The attention to detail, from the elegant table settings to the creative cocktails and fine wines, reflects the passion and quality Meshua brings to the table. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to everyone and hope it thrives for years to come—supporting Meshua means supporting a local gem! Five stars all the way!

Restaurante Cloque ao Mar is a popular sea-view restaurant located slightly west of the main strip, offering stunning sunset views from its chic outdoor patio under a wooden pagoda adorned with fairy lights. It's an ideal spot to enjoy a glass of wine and some petiscos before dinner service while watching the cliffs transform in the dying sunlight. The restaurant offers delicious breakfast options and fast service, with a menu that transitions to brunch after 11 AM, catering to both adults and kids.

Go at sunset! This location is dreamy. I was lost for words. We arrived on a Sunday night, after a nice walk along cliffs in Portimao. We could hear live music. Immediately we were met by the stunning scenery. The food was tasty. Salad was super fresh. I had the rib eye steak, fries and salad and my sister had patatas bravas, shrimp and salad. Over all - good food! Not the best steak I ever had but it was large for €25! The service was great, we had a lovely and attentive German waiter, who was super busy but very quick.
Anne-Marie M — Google review
Went for a glass of wine and a snack, The "special nachos" were not very special and lacked a bit of character. The wine on the other hand was very tasty and the view and seating options are very nice. There is a DJ playing music and friendly staff that doesnt mind having some small talk.
Niels H — Google review
We stopped at Restaurante Cloque ao Mar hoping for a nice meal with a view—but unfortunately, the food and service didn’t deliver. The cod bites were greasy and we didn’t finish them. The chorizo portion was small and pretty average, and the calamari was deep fried to the point where you couldn’t really taste anything. They brought us the wrong meal twice (though they did apologize), and overall the service was chaotic. We watched several tables sit for a long time without being served, and a few people ended up leaving altogether. The view, however, is absolutely stunning—truly one of the best along the coast. It’s a real shame the restaurant isn’t better managed. I’d recommend stopping for a beer and the scenery, but skip the food and be prepared to wait.
Nicholas G — Google review
Great location, mediocre staff. Visited in June. There was one girl from Denmark who was amazing. The guys prefer not to smile and have zero enthusiasm. We ordered green wine and it was nearly finished by the time the guy came over with the ice bucket, which had two cubes of ice in it. Hopefully things will improve, because it is the perfect sunset spot.
Steven T — Google review
I was extremely disappointed with my experience. I feel that they reley too much on the spectacular views, and forgot about how important the food and service to the whole experience. Things felt rushed, the oil was old, and they dropped half of the fries of one of our orders. They didn't even pick up the fries off the table, or replace them. Overall will not be coming back.
Rui F — Google review
This is a great place to eat and drink on every phase of a day. Delicious breakfast made us happy 5 days in a row - instead of eating hotel, more expensive breakfasts. Service is kind but sometimes forgets to check the table (eg. when you would like to pay). Food is delivered fast. Breakfasts are great but there is no option for kids. After 11AM menu is changed to Brunch and there are many more positions (for kids as well). I recommend to wait till 11AM is possible to eat there something nice. Place is not so crowded. In the evenings there is a live music. Ocean view is just amazing. You can pay with card. You can park car on the street. Highly recommended place!

Outro Bar is a charismatic late-night spot in Praia da Rocha, known for its lively entertainment and vibrant atmosphere until around 4 am. The bar kicks off the night with popular pop music and transitions to commercial, house, Brazilian, and Latin tunes as the evening progresses. I would definetely recommend this hotel and only because of Maya! Maya is the best receptionist ever! She is so kind, she made sure we had breakfast at 5:30 even though the buffet isn’t open until 7:30. If I would ever return to Portimão, I would book this hotel just to see Maya again. I miss her already!

We had an amazing stay at the Algarve Casino, on arrival we were greeted with such a friendly reception team, and made to feel very welcome. They even took our luggage up to the room while we had a look around and a drink on the amazing veranda with the beach view, was absolutely stunning. I had pre arranged for our room to be decorated as we were there to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my husbands 50th birthday and they made it look perfect, even on the morning of his birthday, they sang happy birthday at breakfast and brought out cake and fizz to start the day. Was so well thought out and planned. We were over the moon. The room was very spacious and comfortable and spotless, the balcony and beach view was out of this world, amazing sunsets to watch. We had a lovely stay with you and look forward to staying again! Thanks so much for everything.

Stunning location! Booked this for our honeymoon- what a wonderful experience. They upgraded our room to a suite without even asking :) The hotel has a private beach (I think they charge a few euros for towels and such at the beach but our balcony view was so good that we didn’t really use the umbrellas over at the beach). The pool area is really good - the clientele is slightly older, which was great for us because we were looking for a a quiet, chill afternoon by the pool. Breakfast buffet is pretty good - try to go early though, there’s a queue around 9. We also tried some food at the sunset bar and it was fresh and well prepared. The rooms are a steal compared to most others in the area for the amenities provided.

Lovely location on the beach in Portimao. Stairs down from the hotel onto the beach, these are locked at night & key access. Breakfast selection is good. We booked a sea view room & very happy with it. Beautiful tile floors, and wooden furniture. Not modern but in fairness we don't spend much time in the room anyway. Views are fantastic. Loads of restaurants outside the door as well as the hotel restaurants to choose from. Check in is at 15:00 and they will look after your luggage. Parking is around the corner in a parking station but free of charge.

Five stars? Not even close — it’s more like three at best. The hotel is located in a great area, offering a casino, spa, children’s play area, a large pool zone, and direct access to the beach — and yes, the staff are indeed very friendly and professional. However, that’s about all the praise it deserves. Although promoted as a five-star hotel, it has definitely lost at least two stars. The rooms are spacious and clean, but outdated and in serious need of renovation, reflecting a general sense of decline. In our room, the curtains were hanging loose and did not provide proper blackout coverage. The other two windows had wooden blinds that didn’t close properly either. Breakfast is served in a large hall, but most of the food is industrially prepared, with plenty of variety but little freshness — the only genuinely fresh items were the fruits and fruit salad. In one section of the dining room, there were visible water stains and damage, seemingly from a past air-conditioning leak or flooding. We had dinner there one evening; the dishes were tasty, well-presented, and overall a pleasant experience. However, the bar service was a disaster — it was impossible to get served unless you went up and called for the bartender yourself. When he finally came, he complained about being overworked and said he couldn’t do anything about it. Extremely rude and unprofessional — a real shame for a hotel that aims for a luxury standard.

Lovely hotel with uninterrupted sea views. Our 1st floor sea view room was perfect, loads of room and storage for a week long stay, and different decor from the usual 5 star which was nice! The staff were great. Pool is a little chilly but the sea view from the loungers more than makes up for it. Breakfast was good, a little chaotic in terms of layout and replenishment, definitely could rearrange things to make it flow better. Not a bad buffet but would fall short of 5 star in Ireland. Pool side cafe is pricey as expected but the piri piri chicken and ice cream was delicious. I would definitely go back.

Location, location, location! You’ll love this place, from the moment you arrive and your cases are taken for you, to the reception staff they are friendly and they are there to make your stay as good as possible, the bar is well stocked and a drink on the terrace is a great experience. Walk out onto the outdoor terrace area and take in the whole of the beach, the pools and sun lounging areas. The decor is lovely and some will say a little dated but we both enjoyed the old feel of the place, it’s definitely got a cosy feel to it, there is a very big lounge area by the bar and then you have the outside patio with the outstanding views. Need help with anything like car hire, ferry taxis or room issues (we had 2 small issues which were both resolved in a couple of hours) the reception staff will assist you. The bedrooms we stayed in were off to the left of the main hotel but had a lovely balcony with 2 sun loungers and a fabulous view, waking each morning to the sounds of the sea and the views was such a relaxing experience. We only had breakfast included and I would say it was good quality especially the fruit, fresh meats and cheeses but not that varied across the week, Praia da Rocha has so many good places to eat we only had the breakfast option. Try the casino too, downstairs has roulette and black jack, whilst the ground floor has gambling Machines.

AP Oriental Beach in Portimão is a luxurious hotel located right on the golden sands of Praia da Rocha, offering stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. The hotel provides meticulously designed rooms and suites with ocean vistas, an upscale restaurant, a refreshing pool, and direct beach access. Guests can immerse themselves in the exotic world of comfort and indulge in the splendid sea views while enjoying top-notch services.
What a fantastic vacation my wife and I had! The surroundings were truly amazing, and the hotel was absolutely lovely and well-maintained. We were fortunate to be there just before the summer season really kicked off, which meant we weren't bothered much by drunk people from the nightlife area. Also, there aren't any noisy cafes or discotheques right next to the hotel; you can find them within a maximum of a 10-minute walk if you're looking for that. The hotel itself looked beautiful, and the staff is very polite. There was plenty of choice for relaxation: directly on the beach, in the spacious garden with sunbeds (the covered beds weren't ready when we were there), or by the pool (this area is a bit more compact). Breakfast offered a wide variety, including gluten-free and lactose-free options. Dinner was decent for a buffet, with plenty of choices, including vegetarian options. We give the hotel a strong 9.5. Why not a 10? There are always a few minor things to note. Unfortunately, the bathroom had some cracked tiles, and the sealant edges need replacing (the current ones weren't applied very neatly). Additionally, there was discoloration on quite a few of the bathroom tile grout lines, likely due to guests not ventilating properly after showering. Perhaps it's an idea to thoroughly check the bathroom tiles after the busy season (hydrogen peroxide can help with tiles). Below are a few things that are purely personal preference but which we liked less: We didn't enjoy the lunch; it was quite pricey, and the bread was very hard and stale. We gave it one chance and then decided to have lunch outside the hotel. We didn't find the coffee (outside of breakfast) very tasty, and it was very expensive compared to the prices in the surrounding area. In short, the positives: Service from the staff (especially during the major power outage) Politeness of the staff Appearance of the hotel Location of the hotel Wide selection during the buffet (breakfast and dinner) Many options for relaxation (garden, balcony, pool, beach). General hygiene Negatives: Broken bathroom tiles Discolored tiles and grout lines Poor sealant edges in the bathroom Quality and price of lunch Quality and price of coffee Some tips for travelers: There are hardly any parking spaces at the hotel, but the Bolt app is a good solution. Try the hotel's homemade iced tea. Try the smaller local businesses; La Bruschetta is highly recommended (note: cash payment only). Enjoy the surroundings and the nearby towns.

I am unsure why this is named the oriental when it is decidedly Moroccan in decor, nevertheless it is a stunning hotel, well placed near the town centre and beach. I went with my sister and we were given a room upgrade, a lovely surprise. Our room had twin beds and a settee; and was clean and spacious. The bathroom equally so. There is a minibar however this didn’t have much in it, just water and a small bottle of red and a small bottle of white wine. Perhaps if it had more to offer, we would have used it. We had a beach view balcony, which was great. The staff were great, friendly and welcoming except the bar/dining manager guy who behaved very differently with us compared to how he behaved with other guests. We could not think why this was, he was distant, curt, and at one stage accusatory. We could only think maybe he thought we were a single sex couple, rather than relatives, we were unsure but either way he certainly held something against us making us uncomfortable. Because of the weather (mainly rain due to storms), for 3 out of 4 nights we had the hotel’s evening buffet: we were not sure what the evening ‘themes’ were supposed to be, rather eclectic, but the food was edible; nothing great but ok for the price of €29 each and we didn’t have to cook. Breakfasts offered a good selection. The local shops and restaurants were as expected for a tourist spot but we found it hard to find Portuguese traditional food which was a real shame. I guess they mainly cater for those who leave the UK and who cannot tolerate anything less than a big English breakfast and pizza & chips! We highly recommend this hotel and we would certainly return.

Good location overlooking a lovely beach, close to restaurants/bars, but quieter area. Unfortunately, works started on the beach shortly after our arrival so most of it fenced off and lots of machinery/workmen. Seems they’re setting up for a festival on the beach early July. Good size rooms and we did get a room in the location we asked for. Unfortunately, they were aware we weren’t a couple and allocated a double room. We asked to move but were told the hotel was full. Agreed a compromise they suggested and they said it would be sorted asap. Unfortunately, it wasn’t sorted during our stay. Most 4 star hotels would have had housekeeping resolve straight away, it was only 3pm and would not have taken long. Many hotels have zipper beds that can be either a double or 2 singles. Food in restaurant was generally OK. Would have liked some pasta dishes that were not vegetarian, all the pasta dishes served were vegetarian, should have been a variety. All the restaurant staff were good and worked hard. However, Claudia and Carlos stood out as always welcoming guests with a smile and good morning or evening. One of the best things about the hotel was always being able to get a sun lounger. Only a few seemed to be reserved with towels.

As mentioned in other reviews, the location is perfect, with easy access to the beach. Friendly and professional staff. Beautiful views from our balcony, although we couldn't enjoy it much because the next room was smoking all day long - starting at 6am. It would be so much better if they had no smoking rooms. The room is a bit run down (the floor lifting up in places) and the multipurpose wash for hands, face, body and hair made it feel like a 1 star hotel. No coffee pot in room...

We are currently are guests of the hotel and the calmness, the character is unbelievable. Absolutely beautiful location and the staff are great. The food and drinks are tiny bit overpriced but you would expect that from a beach location. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely love this hotel! Just returned from our third time with them. The staff are so friendly & can't do enough for you from the receptionists to the waiters & waitresses, to the lovely ladies who clean the rooms! It is in a quiet area & straight onto the beach! The food is excellent with so much choice & buffet style so you can goo back for more! There are so many ice-cream parlours too just outside the hotel so you want for nothing!....... The only problem we had was not with the hotel but with the airport at Faro!! It was so packed & not very organised at all!. In fact we nearly missed our fight because of the queues so DO ALLOW EXTRA TIME WHEN GOING HOME! Already want to go back!! 😎.

Decent quiet on-beach hotel with a diverse buffet Likes: 1. Spacious room with direct private access to the beachfor hotel guests. 2. Dinner buffet is usually very diverse with high quality food. 3. Live music and events during breakfast and dinner. 4. Most of the staff are friendly and welcoming (special thanks to Elizandro!). 5. The minimum allowed age for the guests is 14, so it's ideal for fans of quietness. 6. The offered drinks are decently priced in the same range they would be normally sold at in a supermarket, not ridiculously expensive as commonly abused by touristic facilities. 7. Nicely located within walking distance to several supermarkets, pharmacy, restaurants, and plenty of other shops. Room for improvement: 1. It would be great to allocate a smoking zone and none smoking zone. We couldn't enjoy our front sea with garden view balcony because of the smokers in neighboring balconies. Even in the toilet we could smell cigarettes from the neighbor's toilet who was seemly encouged to smoke in their toilet due to the absence of smoke detectors in the toilets. 2. The room was poorly maintained. For example, the shower shelve is very loose, the toilet door had a hole from a previously installed hanger which no longer exists, and there is ants all over the room's and balcony's floor (some even made it into the tea kettle!). 3. It would have been great if the nice cheese selection offered during dinner buffet were also offered during breakfast. 4. We were disappointed about the absence of a bath tub in such a 4 stars hotel (based on previous experience in similar price range facilities), also the pool was too small.

If I Iived in Portimao i'd come here every weekend. Absolutely banging cocktails for €6-8, everyone's lovely, and a stellar DJ. Plays everything from ZZ Top to early Sepultura, you'll hear lesser known but underappreciated songs from the biggest metal bands, and songs from the local and national scene. If I ever visit again this will be my first port of call. 🤘

Yes there is a rock bar here cheap shots of anything you want local beer good layout music played can be extreme and very heavy! which isn't really to my taste. The DJ basically plays whatever he wants he might or might not play a request... But it's a rock bar which in itself is unusual in a resort like this .

We ordered about 10 different items, including 7 cocktails and 3 shots. They got the order wrong 3 times, going back and forth with the wrong drinks. About 25 minutes in, on the forth try, it was only missing 1 drink. This single Pina colada took another 15 minutes to be prepared. The establishment was far from full. Good atmosphere but very disappointing service.

The rooftop is very nice. Music is good as well, but I find it overrated and the tickets for some events are overpriced.
Nu E — Google review
Mohito, moscow mule and pina colada are delicious, but the service is poor, they confuse the orders and despite the lack of movement the waitresses talk to each other, the waiting time for someone to take the order is almost half an hour, and there are only 4 occupied tables around. A place with potential, staff to be replaced.
Madzia — Google review
We have been lied to at the entrance, around 10 o'clock we were told that they'll be charging €20 for entrance from 22:30 when the party starts, so if you get in now you get a bracelet and dont pay upon re-entering. The music didnt start until midnight, and when it did it was terrible rave music non-stop. When we asked for bracelets at exit (thinking we might come back) we were told to pay full entry price. Do not reccommend to anyone.

WORST CLUB EVER i had a pre paid wristband to get into the club. The organisation of the club was the worst I’ve ever witnessed, there was no lines just crowds of people pushing left and right. The bouncers were letting in 2 people every 5 mins. After 45 mins of waiting I decided to leave. Don’t recommend going here it’s a waste of time. Go to aloha bar next door, it’s so much better.

Rude service - male server came up to us while we were sitting down with our drinks to say the candle was not a trash can. After we had put a piece of paper in the candle due to the lack of service and bins nearby. Was completely unnecessary and rude. Not to mention, the drinks were VERY WEAK and the table was disgusting and sticky. The whole place was an overpriced trashcan. So many better places to drink, with better music too. Turn the radio off.

I love this bar. The waiters are very friendly and the drinks are ship and great. I love their promotions: 3 caipirinhas for 9.50 and tequila sunrise for 3.50. I recommend a lot this bar for everyone!!
Gabriela — Google review
We got inside because of a well displayed promotion outside: 1 tequila sunrise for 3.50€. Once at the table we ordered one each. We payed full price for it (actually more) . Asking at the barman explenation for the price was "I don't get informed of the promotions, you should tell me" first of all, it's his job so how is it possible he doesn't know the drinks prices. And second of all two days before we came in for a similar discount and the bill was right. Anyway without "of course" any receipt there is no way to check where those money went, I guess in the barman's pockets... The Shisha is good even if it would be good a free carbon recharge.

Avoid this place! Yesterday I was there with my girlfriend, we ordered some drinks (were really bad, but we decided to stay becouse music was good). At the 3. round, when waiter thought we were already drunk he tried to charge us 16.50€ instead of 6.50€... I did asked him 3 times for the price (I thought I didn't understand him well) and 3 times he repeated 16.50€. Only when I wanted to see a card/menu he "changed his mind" to 6.50€ and said "sorry I don't speak english"... Additional service lasted veeery long time, like 20 minutes to get some water... I really belive there are some better places to spend your money ;) * 2. star is for good music and nice localisation though :P

Nestled in the heart of Portimao, Villa Mariazinha Charming Hotel is a delightful retreat that boasts just ten elegantly decorated rooms, each exuding a luxurious charm with their platinum and gold accents. This beautifully restored manor house is only a short stroll from the stunning Praia da Rocha beach, making it an ideal spot for sun-seekers.
Charming describes this hotel perfectly. The hotel and rooms are beautiful, the staff is so friendly and accommodating, and the location is the best. The breakfast included everyday starts with fresh squeezed orange juice. Charcuterie board, fresh fruits, pastries, coffee, crepes, and eggs any way you want them. Mohammed was simply wonderful and we really enjoyed our conversations with him. While eating breakfast they made sure our room was cleaned right away so when we got back everything was in order. The beach and boardwalk are just steps away but you wouldn’t even know it until you walk around the corner. It is a quaint little hotel with such charm but is only steps from beach, restaurants, nightlife, etc. we liked it so much we extended our stay! We absolutely loved it here. Highly recommend!

We had the most wonderful stay at Villa Mariazinha Charming Hotel in Portimão. Mohamed and the staff made us feel so welcome—truly gracious and lovely. The breakfast was absolutely amazing and far beyond what we expected: fresh-squeezed orange juice, great coffee, charcuterie, yogurt with honey, eggs, and even gluten-free bread specially prepared for me once they learned about my intolerance. That kind of thoughtfulness meant so much. The location is perfect—just steps from the beach and so close to all the fun and nightlife, yet still very quiet and private when you return to the hotel. We arrived with no expectations and left already dreaming about coming back. I highly, highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Portimão!

Villa Mariazinha Charming Hotel – A True Gem in Portimão We arrived in Portugal from the United States and spent five unforgettable but busy days exploring Lisbon. When it was time to slow down, we headed south to Portimão for the part of our trip meant to help us relax and recharge. Villa Mariazinha Charming Hotel gave us exactly that—and more. What sets this place apart isn’t only the perfect location, though it truly is—it’s the people. Mohammed, the cook, is the heartbeat of the hotel. He speaks four languages, tells stories that make you want to stay at the table longer, and brews coffee that makes mornings unforgettable. His breakfasts were the highlight of our days: eggs cooked any way you could imagine, coffee rich and bold, and, once he learned my wife had a gluten sensitivity, gluten-free bread ready without us ever needing to ask again. His wife, Olga, works alongside him, and she carries the same warmth and grace that make you feel less like a guest and more like family. The rest of the staff were equally impressive—efficient, attentive, and kind. Service here isn’t just professional; it’s personal. If I could give 10 stars, I would. We even extended our stay by three days because of the people, the service, and the atmosphere. It was exactly what the doctor ordered—the rest we didn’t even realize we needed. Villa Mariazinha isn’t just a hotel. It’s a reminder that the true measure of a place isn’t its walls or its views, but the people who welcome you inside. And here, they welcome you with open arms. We’ll return on our next trip to Portimão without hesitation. If you’re considering where to stay, stop searching. This is the one.

Bit confused why this hotel is listed with 2 stars on Google maps, since this experience was truly worth more than this! The receptionist called us during the after noon to double check when check-in was, good service! Furthermore she showed us around the building when we checked in, how to get in, where room is, breakfast bufeet etc. The hotel and room itself was beautifully renovated and every little details was beautiful. The bathroom of was of comfort size however a small complain that drying clothes didn’t really work over night due no active ventilation. However, they did have a washing room that we didn’t try. Both nights we got a personal and inspiring g breakfast served with omelette and coffee. Which j believe it’s the best hotel breakfast experience we had for a very long time! And this is coming from a food-enthusiastic couple who travels somewhere every 2nd month :) Location is ofc subprime with 1 min walk to restaurants, shops and bars. While the beach being only 3-4 minutes walk. Overall this hotel was an extreme pleasant surprise, both rooms, service and location. We would gladly come back and recommend this for everyone!

The breakfast is average (they put very little fruit). Only two person to serve 20 guests at the same time (you need to wait quite a bit to be served). The tables a very small and they serve it all (food, coffee, juice, bread, fruit, etc) at once, so everything gets crowded (not pleasant). We asked to one of the waiters (name Mohamed) to borrow a little spoon to eat a yogurt in our room and the answer was a hard no because they had lost to many spoons, and this same person is not polite at all when he serves you. Is an old house with old wood floors, converted in a hotel, so, you ear every step of the other guests when they walk by the room upstairs or in front of our room. And... the inteire hotel has a plague of Ants (the ones that bites). .

The rooms are quaint with everything you need in a hotel. The breakfast was served to order with delicious fresh fruits and warm bread. But the number 1 feature is location, location, location. The hotel is approximately 50 ft from the Rocha Beach strip. Restaurants and Bars galore. If you drive, parking is tight. Uber is cheap so don't rent a car.
Colin G — Google review
Again a nice stay, staff is very nice. It is adults only which gives you rest and personal attention. Because of the high rate not all people will stay in this hotel.

(Translated by Google) Zé Manel plays and sings very well, I met him a few years ago at Aqua when there was music there at dinner time, he immediately captivated me with his sound. Later I looked for him and ended up finding him at Birimbar, where I am a frequent customer, especially in the summer when I spend more time Algarve (Original) O Zé Manel toca e canta muito bem conhecio há uns anos no Aqua quando lá havia música á hora do jantar cativou me logo pela sonoridade mais tarde procurei o acabei por encontra lo no Birimbar ao qual sou cliente frequente sobretudo no Verão quando passo mais tempo no Algarve

Pronuncia do Norte Bar is a great place to go for a Portuguese meal. The food is excellent, and the staff are polite and friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed and clean, and it's well worth a visit if you're in the area.
Had my first Francesinha, which was really lovely. A meal in itself. And tried my first Caipirinha. Really lovely lady looked after us. Only sorry we went on our last day and not our first. Make sure to go early on your holiday.

We had a lovely experience at Norte Bar! The owners and staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They really took the time to listen to our dietary wishes and adjusted the food perfectly! We also had a great chat with them :) As a sweet gesture, they even gave us some pens and a bottle opener. Highly recommend for both the food and the atmosphere!
Uj — Google review
It is an absolute disgrace to present yourself to be Portuguese from Porto and serve such a tasteless, bland and awfully made Francesinha. I’ve had the pleasure of eating some very good Francesinha in my life, so I know what a good Francesinha is, even though I’m not Portuguese. And yes, even in Porto I have eaten Francesinhas. The sauce was completely watery and had no flavor, the meat was cut far too thick and felt like chewing on leather, the linguiça wasn’t real linguiça but some cheap sausage. The cheekiest thing of all is that they charge extra money to share a dish, even charge fees for cutlery and you even have to pay extra if you want more sauce for the Francesinha. Not even at my favorite Portuguese restaurant in my hometown in Switzerland you have to pay for extra sauce or cutlery. You should be deeply ashamed of yourselves. Edit: I find it absolutely pathetic how you try to manipulate the reviews with friends that write good stuff immediately as soon as someone writes a bad review. Dude at this point just make it less obvious cause smart people ain't stupid. Take the bad reviews as an opportunity to grow and better yourself and your services. + Just because someone is running their business for 16 years, doesn't mean they are doing everything right. You're located at a touristic spot. Those who find your francesinha good are tourists who never eaten a good francesinha before or as I said friends that want to keep your business going. Every local we got to talk to after our visit in your restaurant told us they are not surprised by the quality of the food in your restaurant and your place is known for bad food. Also don't worry about me it's much easier than you think to find a restaurant that serves delicious francesinhas and not serve some tasteless stuff like you.
Blerinë — Google review
Just had our first ever Francesinha here and what a treat! Ordered one to share and won't do that again lol. Could have kept on eating. The ladies serving were so friendly and wouldn't give away the secret of their sauce! The bar is tucked away off the main street and at 7:30 was quiet so don't come for a loud party atmosphere, but for great service and superb authentic Portuguese food I can really recommend
Friar T — Google review
The workers are incredibly gorgeous, funny and kind, specially Yésica. It's my favourite place to go when I just want to chill and have a great time. The enviroment is just right and the food and drinks are out of this world!!! I definitely reccomend it!!!! Visit them as soon as you can! 😋
Constanza C — Google review
My partner was determined to try a Franceschina sandwich whilst in Portugal and we found this place had the best rated in Portimao. We were not disappointed!! This spot is tucked away off of the Portimao strip, ran by two ladies who are kind, welcoming, and attentive. I urge you to try a Franceschina here and step off ‘the strip’ for a moment to give a smaller business a try.
Jess G — Google review
Staff are lovely and make you feel very welcome from the moment you arrive. Its located in a quiet spot just off the main strip which gives it a very relaxed atmosphere. Food is deliscious and very cheap for the quality of food and service, would highly recommend to anyone visiting.

If you're looking for a delightful spot to unwind with a drink, look no further than the Moonlight Bar. Nestled along the stunning Praia da Rocha, this charming bar offers an impressive selection of cocktails and shots that are hard to find elsewhere. While they focus on light snacks like toasted sandwiches, it's the breathtaking ocean views and warm ambiance that truly set it apart. The friendly staff, including the ever-attentive owner Hugo, create a welcoming atmosphere where guests feel right at home.
While this bar doesn't offer full meals and serves only snacks like toast, it's a fantastic spot for drinks with a stunning view of Praia da Rocha! The affordable prices, combined with the breathtaking view, make it a perfect place to relax. The friendly staff, always smiling, adds to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended!

This is our "go to" place when we want to drink a cocktail or have a beer and stare out at the ocean. The bartenders are always welcoming and even remember what we like to drink 🙃 Uh oh LOL. Toasted sandwiches are the main thing on offer as far as food goes. Great staff and fabulous views.

I just write: Hugo is the best! Dear readers, the Moonlight Bar is a perfect location with the view over the ocean. And the owner Hugo, is taking care of his guests in the best way you can imagine. I really like to have a Cocktail and a toast there and relax.
