The Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff is a leading cultural venue that hosts a diverse range of performances including theatre, opera, ballet, and music shows. It is renowned for its modern facilities and expansive 5-acre grounds. Visitors can enjoy not only the captivating performances but also participate in workshops, educational events, guided tours, and dining/shopping activities. The center's influence extends beyond traditional entertainment as it also hosts literary events and contemporary dance performances.
We went here yesterday (Saturday) to watch The Book of Mormon. It was our very first visit and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was easily accessible by train and bus and very well placed. Excellent architectural design and detail, professional, welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable staff, amazing theatre auditorium. Available spaces for eating and drinking and lounges during intermission. Don't forget to check out the theatre gift shoppe for some interesting items. If not busy, the helpful staff can tell you more about the theatre and give you info about their theatre tour offerings. Tips: the ground floor toilets could get very crowded with long queues so try to get there early enough. If you need temporary storage for your bags/luggage, there's a Premier Inn just across the road (via the Stasher app). Hot drinks not allowed inside the theatre for safety reasons. If you need a quick charge your phone, there is a table in the dining area near area A with sockets.
Lynette C — Google review
Perhaps this is a tad unfair but I was only allowed into the front of the Centre, or was it the centre of the front? All doors to where the punters sit to watch performances were locked. I asked a member of staff if I could have a look but he refused. I joked that what I'd seen so far was so good it could've been built in England. Lead balloon time. Lighten up little Welsh man, okay, you weren't amused but a deafening silence would've been better than the response you gave. Coming over the border? Don't. We'll sing you away. Keep a welcome in the hillside, keep a welcome in the Vales, I may be back one day.
Bill R — Google review
I got there early with my sister, staff great directed to the relevant place. We were able to get a drink and have a sit down for a bit. Been there for cabaret and the other shows there brilliant highly recommend. Only downside is if you drive everyone tries to get out straight away and they tend to get stuck in the parking part across the street

**The Wales Millennium Centre: A World-Class Cultural Destination** The Wales Millennium Centre stands as one of Cardiff's most impressive architectural achievements, and after experiencing "The Book of Mormon" there, I can confidently say it lives up to its reputation as a premier cultural venue. The building itself is breathtaking from the moment you approach. The distinctive design creates an immediate sense of anticipation, and the location in Cardiff Bay couldn't be more perfect. The waterfront setting adds to the overall experience, making a visit feel like a special occasion. What truly sets this venue apart is the theatre itself. The comfort level is exceptional - genuinely the most comfortable live theatre experience I've encountered. The seating is thoughtfully designed, allowing you to focus entirely on the performance without any distractions from cramped conditions or poor sightlines. The technical aspects are flawless. Both the acoustics and visibility are outstanding, ensuring every seat in the house offers an excellent experience. During "The Book of Mormon," every word was crystal clear and every visual detail was perfectly visible, which is exactly what you want from a musical production. Even the gift shop deserves recognition. Rather than the typical tourist fare, they offer unique and lovely items that feel special. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, adding to the overall positive experience. The Wales Millennium Centre delivers on every level - from its stunning architecture and prime location to its superior comfort and technical excellence. It's a venue that enhances any performance, making it a true cultural jewel in Cardiff Bay. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a top-tier theatre experience.

We’ve come here many times. A wide range of theatrical productions, ballets and musicals are on offer. Tickets are affordable, particularly for young people. Drinks and snacks aren’t too bad either. Good parking facilities nearby. Spectacular setting in the bay. We had a great time seeing Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat
Sam B — Google review
Ten theater was absolutely stunning! I mentioned how much of an art work the theater was to a staff member and they were kind enough to give me a brief history on it. The auditorium is massive and I did hear someone mentioned how they were far away but that they felt as if they were close.
Ana L — Google review
We've been to this venue a number of times over the years, but I've been remiss in leaving a review. Having visited the centre to see Warhorse yesterday, itself a stunningly ambitious and superbly crafted and choreographed show, it's just worth mentioning that the Wales Millennium Centre is a fabulous and beautiful building - inside and out - and the auditorium is incredible with fantastic views and audio and lighting. Just a delight to visit.

An amazing theatre. Don't worry about buying cheap tickets up in the gods. The view and the sound are still excellent. Drinks preorder works well even at altitude. Staff and volunteers were all helpful and knowledgeable.

Cardiff Castle, located in the heart of the city, is a captivating blend of Victorian Gothic architecture and ancient history. Built on the remnants of Norman and Roman ruins, this popular tourist attraction offers visitors a glimpse into its two millennia of history. The castle features a magnificent 12th-century keep and opulent 19th-century Gothic Revival interiors designed by renowned architect William Burges.
Nice experience. Very lovely staffs. Inside is quite spacious like a mini park. Totally enjoyed the time. Guided tour is available for certain restricted part of the castle. Got a very nice panoramic view of the city from the tower. Highly recommend climbing it. Stairs are quite steep though. Gotta be careful. A very interesting stall named 'Fund your name in the history or something' was there. Kids love that stall. Overall highly recommended.

A really brilliant experience here. Make sure you download the audio guide and bring your earphones. One thing I would have preferred is that their locations and different numbers so you would know what to listen to add particular spots. But it's great to see so many languages catered for and despite it being busy, it was a really peaceful and enjoyable atmosphere. Definitely a highlight on my trip to Cardiff.
Niall G — Google review
Lovely well-maintained castle, friendly staff, and spacious lawns which make for a beautiful sight. It’a not very big but it’s lovely to see and the Firing Line museum below is informative and interesting. Worth a visit!
Madison R — Google review
Definitely worth the trip to the castle. The views from the top are amazing. Quite steep steps to go up to the top though. I would also recommend doing the tour for the extra money. The tour takes you to some extra places that you are not allowed to go on with a standard admission ticket. You will need to look at the times when the tours take place before you go.

Cardiff Castle was a fantastic experience. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the grounds felt like a peaceful mini park in the heart of the city. I joined a guided tour to explore the stunning Castle Apartments, including the ornate Arab Room and Roof Garden — absolutely worth it. Climbing the Norman Keep’s steep stairs rewarded me with breathtaking panoramic views of Cardiff. The castle’s mix of rich history, beautiful architecture, and family-friendly atmosphere makes it a must-visit. Highly recommended!

This castle is worth visiting. Many things to see and do. The house is lovely and there’s an informative museum too. Children love to roam at the ground. No parking available on the site. You need to find one on the other place.

Lovely castle at the heart of Cardiff city centre. One of the most well-preserved castles we visited. We visited on a weekday so it was not too crowded. The highlight was walking through the WW2 air raid shelter. The posters, the darkness and the sound effects from the speakers really enhanced our experience and we felt as if we travelled back in time. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our visit and we highly recommend it as a must see when you visit Cardiff.

Viewed this castle the rooms are very art deco it's amazing how they painted the walls and I do love the stain glass windows. If you feel you have the energy the steps to the castle ruins is a must as it shows views over the town.

Nice place to visit if near Cardiff, Wales. Things to do and see. Plenty of food places to explore and try out. There was boats ride available around the bay. (Need to check times and dates, for when available). There a few hotels nearby and parking available.

In the heart of Cardiff, you can experience a mix of culture, history, and sports. Start your day with a visit to the Millennium Centre for an opera performance or explore the Edwardian arcades for some shopping. Indulge in craft brews at The Potted Pig before heading to Principality Stadium to cheer on the rugby team. Don't miss out on free access to impressive Impressionist paintings at the National Museum.
Stereophonics at their very best at their home venue, with fabulous support from Finn Forster and Blossoms. What a fantastic night. 🎸🎤🎶. All staff inside the venue were polite and friendly. Found drinks to be at a reasonable price compared to other concert venues. Easy to navigate around stadium. Normal queues for toilets as expected. Timing is key...!!
SUE B — Google review
We attended the stadium for the Oasis concert and it was AMAZING! The stadium is huge and there was a wide selection of drinks on offer and reasonably prices. The system thag implemented made it quick service and the staff were friendly. What an incredible experience, keep an eye out of events here because it was well worth attending.
Emily — Google review
These photos are from U12 row 33 (the very back row of the upper tier) and there was a great view of the stage for Oasis in July 2025. Events at the stadium are always well-organised. Obviously there are bar and toilet queues at busy times as you'd expect, but they move fast. Weirdly the person serving behind the bar was 17 (turning 18 at midnight) and she was able to make the drinks but not sell the drinks which caused a delay... but happy birthday to her! Exiting the stadium after an event is surprisingly fast.
Sarah T — Google review
My 1st visit to the stadium I wish it had been for rugby union match but next time. This time it was for a concert Catfish and the bottle men getting to stadium easy to find. Well signed for all entrances, the staff were brilliant.(I can't remember the staff members who helped me and then my wife re-enter after I lost my phone and amazingly a bloke and his partner found it answered the call and since we left after Travis played and there was thousands of people inside and the tickets were on my phone the staff allowed us back and retrieve it THANK YOU ) the stadium is easy to get around lots of facilities for all the bar only took card no cash but staff were super polite and friendly the stadium is amazing and can't wait to go back to watch the rugby
Graham P — Google review
Great venue and feels intimate when we saw Oasis. Cons no signs in the town centre for different gates. Floor sticky. My coat is drenched from split drinks. Numerous people falling over in the standing area as they were unaware of the slope to enter/exit, maybe have a different coloured tiles to show change the slopped areas.
Michelle M — Google review
A fantastic stadium to watch both sport events and music events! Comfortable seats for stadium seats! Sensibly priced seats! Lots of drinks and food on offer to buy, minimal queues when support acts were starting.
Lois C — Google review
Stereophonics gig, with blossoms as support. Amazing gig. Both on form and will definitely sew again Good to see the stadium has free water machines and needed in that heat. Big shout out to Gary the Gorilla
Mark W — Google review
I was here for the Lana Del Rey concert. I'm originally from Germany. The stadium is really beautiful. I felt very safe at all times. There were friendly staff everywhere who helped you. It took about 30 minutes to get into the stadium, which I think is a reasonable time. Especially when you consider all the crowds. In the stadium itself, you have the opportunity to buy drinks and food in many different places. The queues there were absolutely reasonable. I never had to wait longer than 5 minutes. There were plenty of toilets and the staff pointed out where there were no queues. Overall, it was a great experience for me. I would definitely come to Cardiff again for a concert. Generally people of Cardiff were very sweet and warm-hearted. A big thank you and compliments to all the security staff and employees, especially at gate 5, M19 🫶🏻

Bute Park, located in the heart of Cardiff, is a sprawling riverside beauty spot that offers a mix of historic features and modern amenities. The park boasts an arboretum with 41 Champion trees, as well as Victorian gardens and friary ruins. Recent restoration efforts have enhanced the park with new facilities such as the Bute Park Education Centre, three cafes, woodland balance trail, sculpture trail, fitness trail, and a diverse events program.
I have been to many parks in my time, but Bute Park is in its own league. Stunning routes criss-crossing a mix of trees, shrubs, flowers, fun for the children, wildlife areas. Thank you for maintaining such a wonderful and peaceful place. It's what made me fall in love with Cardiff! ❤️
Peter T — Google review
This is an amazing park right in the centre of Cardiff with lots to see and it's very peaceful for a walk in the evening. There's plenty to do from adult fitness to a visitor centre to checking out the interpretive signs about the trees and wildlife. This was a great find and a must-see for anybody in Cardiff
Niall G — Google review
Beautiful park. Just lush. Huge trees my favourite being the multi stemmed wingnut near the bridge. This Park is owned by "the people of Cardiff" as was left to them, with the castle, by the last lord of Bute. It is a managed park. Friendly gardeners willing to spend time chatting ❤️ We went in spring, the tulips were lovely, so lovey I didn't get many photos!! Separate review made for ace secret cafe, near the plant sales.
Anna E — Google review
Bute Park is an absolute gem in the heart of Cardiff — one of the most beautiful and peaceful urban green spaces I’ve ever visited. The park is massive, yet feels welcoming and easy to explore, whether you’re strolling along the river, admiring the flower gardens, or just enjoying the shade under the ancient trees. There’s a perfect blend of open grassy areas, wooded sections, and well-maintained paths that make it ideal for walking, running, cycling, or just relaxing with a book. The views of Cardiff Castle peeking through the trees add a magical, historic touch. I especially loved how close it is to the city centre — you’re just minutes from shops and cafes, but it feels like a world away. It’s also very clean, safe, and dog-friendly, with plenty of spots to sit and unwind. A must-visit if you’re in Cardiff. Perfect for locals and tourists alike!
Leon B — Google review
I really love this park, it's beautiful, peaceful, and seems to stretch on forever. There's so much space to explore, and recently it got even better when Slayer and other amazing metal bands played at the Blackweir festival site. The mix of nature and live music made for an unforgettable experience. Definitely one of my favorite places to visit! Yeah!!

Senedd, the home of the Welsh Parliament in Cardiff, is a remarkable and accessible symbol of Welsh democracy. The building reflects the values of transparency and participation, offering free entry to visitors. It features event spaces that promote community engagement and progressive ideals. The Victorian arcades nearby provide an opportunity for unique shopping experiences with independent businesses. Visitors praise the knowledgeable guides and friendly security staff, making it a must-visit for those interested in understanding how democracy functions in Wales.

Our visit to the Sennedd was amazing. The guide was so knowledgeable and informative in a way that conveyed how this wonderful building fulfills it's purpose. I don't mean functional purpose like holding meetings, I mean aspirational purpose of inclusion, accessibility and transparency. For anyone who cares about how democracy works, I highly recommend
Amanda R — Google review
Personally i rather like the look of the building but Christ on his Cross! Just upkeep the place! The wood is looking so tarnished and weathered! This building is meant to be representative of the welsh people! People like Osian, who like this building in recent years has started to show his age. Who in his spare time has taken up the hobby of reviewing my reviews! Even when hes on a date night with his lovely wife. I only wish the maintenance department of the Welsh Assembly was as thorough in it job as Osian is passionate about my reviews!
Britishperson131 — Google review
We visited as a party of three adults (one with mobility difficulties), having never been to Cardiff before. We emailed in advance and received many timely and informative replies from Menna. All was arranged easily and efficiently, the entire visit to the Assembly being free of charge. There are security guards right at the entrance and so please be aware if you have scissors or other sharp objects they will keep them for the day (giving you a tag) and you can collect the item back when you leave the building. When we arrived inside we were greeted by a tour guide (Sam) and he was joined by a learning-to-be-a-tour-guide Gwern. Both were friendly and welcoming. Sam is by far one of the most knowledgeable guides we have had the pleasure of having. He told us a lot about the symbolism of the building, the history of the National Assembly for Wales as an institution and about the way the assembly works today. Although you are not allowed to go down to the chamber of the assembly (where the representatives sit), that did not detract one bit from our experience and we did feel the tour was 100% worth our time! We came out so much more knowledgeable about Wales as a country, it's people, its history and potential future. In the afternoon we did sit in and listen to the assembly in session, which was very interesting and added an element of reality to the theory that Sam had delivered in the morning. The building is 100% disability friendly; it has automatic doors, disabled toilets and lifts for access everywhere. Overall, we would say this was one of the easiest, most enjoyable, most informative and interesting visits to a sight and landmark that we have had. We thoroughly recommend it to everyone, regardless of how interested you are in politics, history, architecture or anything else that might make you wonder if its worth visiting. It definitely is!!!

Absolute rubbish.the building looks like a caravan . i realise it was supposed to be made of natural materials but surely it could have been made to impress rather than offend all the slate floor around the building floods as well . take a look at other government buildings in other countries, Scotland Magnificent. N. Ireland, Beautiful. London, Grand. We are certainly the poor relation. We do have the City Hall in Cathays Park which is Magnificent, Grand, and Beautiful and would have cost less than that ugly building down the bay.

DEPOT Cardiff is a versatile events space that has made its mark on the live scene in Cardiff since 2015. It hosts a variety of events, from food festivals to Bingo Lingo nights, and boasts a spacious beer garden for day drinking. Additionally, it offers an exhilarating experience at Cardiff International White Water with its Olympic-standard course for rafting.
I went to Depot to see Abba live concert and it was amazing. Good laugh, entertaining and dance the night way. There are X2 Bar's, Food in there and they had a photo booths. The toilets were very clean. I wasn't expecting anything like it, to be honest, I would go again 100%. I have added pictures of the night. They had a band on before Abba came on. Then disco afterwards.

Went to see a heavy metal concert. Easy to find, quick entry and staff were friendly. Large venue holding 3K. Bar prices (0% can) £4.50 so not too bad for a venue. Not very many toilets for size of building. Three food outlets in their, pizza and chicken stuff. Sound quality/acoustics are quite poor in my opinion as room is literally a big tin building with spray foam covering the ceiling. I am 6ft and found it difficult to see the stage. Hard concrete floor making it uncomfortable for long gigs (4+ hours) Overall not a bad place for a gig but Bristol Beacon is far better.

Went to NYE event. Very apprehensive when pulling up in the car, looked well dodgy. Decided to go in after some thought, we were by far the oldest there but love most dance music. The security was brilliant, polite and thorough. The venue itself looked run down but when we got in, we loved every minute. The barstaff were really friendly and surprisingly pulled a good Guiness. All the reviews about beer prices being expensive, this is nonsense, yes its more expensive than the valleys workman's club but this is something different. All the party people there were there for the music and so friendly, I was probably like some of their grand dads. The music and lighting was excellent. The best NYE I've had in years. I'd recommend this place to anyone into dance music. Well done all involved.

First time visiting this venue to watch the Viagra Boys. It had a great atmosphere and was within an easy walk from Cardiff City centre. Plenty of large bars helped keep the queues down during the event, and there was a good selection of independent food stalls available. Would definitely recommend over the Utilita Arena for the atmosphere. Also, meeting a guy in a pink, woollen gimp suit was an unexpected highlight! 🤣

Perfect gig venue - good size, (not too big), good sound and great atmosphere). Even have food vendors inside.

I went to DEPOT Cardiff last night for the first time to see Public Image Limited – and I have to say, I was seriously impressed. When I first arrived and saw the venue was essentially a big warehouse, I’ll be honest – I thought it was going to be horrendous. I couldn’t have been more wrong. The second I stepped inside, the vibe completely changed my mind. The atmosphere is incredible – easily one of my favourite venues I’ve ever been to. The red lighting adds so much character to the place, and the industrial look actually works really well. It just feels different in the best way. The staff were friendly, professional, and clearly knew how to handle a crowd without being overbearing. Everything ran smoothly, and the show itself was brilliant. Genuinely a top-tier venue. I’ll definitely be back.

Went to the Depot for the ABBA live concert and it was absolutely brilliant! Such a fun night — full of laughs, great music, and plenty of dancing. There were two bars, food stalls, and even photo booths, which added to the atmosphere. The toilets were spotless too, which was a nice surprise! I honestly wasn’t expecting it to be that good, but it exceeded all expectations. Loved every minute and would 100% go again!

Absolutely amazing place for a metal core concert. Toilets were clean. There are food stalls as well as a bar licence (the food smelt amazing though didn't buy any). Parking wasn't too bad, you can pay to park by Depot but there is on street parking.

St. Fagans National Museum of History offers a unique open-air experience showcasing the history of Welsh life. Since 1946, the museum has carefully relocated buildings from across Wales to create an immersive historical landscape on the grounds of St Fagans Castle. Visitors can explore a variety of reconstructed structures, including 19th-century ironworkers' cottages, a tannery, bakehouse, village store, schoolhouse, tollhouse from 1771, and more.
St. Fagans National Museum of History: More Fun Than You'd Think! Let me tell you, if you're ever near Cardiff, you have to go to St. Fagans. It's not a stuffy museum at all. It's this awesome outdoor village with a bunch of real houses and buildings from all over Wales that they moved here. You get to walk right inside and see what life was really like hundreds of years ago. We saw a baker making bread, a blacksmith working on some metal, and a rug maker making a rug out of sheep's wool, right in front of us—it was so cool to see how they do it. And at the heart of it all is a really beautiful old manor house—it's like a small palace! The gardens around it are stunning and perfect for a relaxing walk. The best part is that it's completely free to get in! You only have to pay for parking, so it's a super cheap day out. You can just wander around, have a picnic, and explore everything. Seriously, you should go!

A fantastic place to spend all day. You can just walk around, do some rope activities or just be stunned at the beauty. For both indoorsy and outdoorsy people. There are 2 stunning art galleries and suitable for children too. I absolutely loved it and it is free. No tickets and no need to buy a map. The signs are everywhere and you can not be lost. There are some pubs locally but they were so full for lunches we had to wait for an hour! Not worth the price so bring your lunch and drinks unless you want to definitely try fish and chips in-house or go to the restaurant located at the start of your journey but that has a very poor review. Overall an amazing day out. On a windy day wear layers & definitely warm yourself up by walking around.
Aasma F — Google review
Amazing outdoor museum. Very friendly staff are knowledgeable, and the grounds/facilities are well taken care of by the landscapers and handy men that provide the upkeep. 4 folks that stand out are the information desk ladies for their wholesome welcome, the gentleman posted at the house rows and gardens with his personal experience, the gentleman tending the mechanical objects in the manor and of course, the man expertly pruning the gorgeous roses. The later takes skill and focus to care for all those varieties to provide the beautiful sensory experience in the archway near the ponds. Well done all for this marvelous experience. Shame there isn’t a 10 star option. PS, if that doesn’t sell it… it was completely free

Really nice afternoon out. It's free so I won't be too harsh but it would benefit from some more information dotted about. Lots of stuff was shut which is understandable in the middle of the week etc but wish it was clearer before walking around. Most of the buildings were shut or empty. But the ones with the volunteers were great. Loved the fire going in the farmhouse it makes it feel real. Should be more info on the process of how i the buildings were moved as that's fascinating in itself!

We had a lovely day here. Definitely worth a visit. We were a group of 12 with 2 dogs, and our ages ranged from 12 to 81 and they all enjoyed the walks from house to house. It was also lovely to listen to the members of staff with all their knowledge. I knocked a star off the experience due to not being able to take the dogs in for cooked food in the main restaurant. A member of staff told us that we could eat in the cafe the other end of the estate. Once we got there, it was only pre packed sandwiches and cakes. We wanted cooked food. Other than that, it was a very enjoyable day

Parking here is £7 for the whole day or free for blue badge holders. I've been here a few times but think it's amazing how old buildings have been taken down n rebuilt exactly as the stood before the vulcan pub is finished and sells alcohol bur it looks amazing and the shops are a blast from the past the place is massive but so peaceful also seeing how our ancestors lived compared to today is mind blowing would recommend visiting if never been before .

Wonderful Museum! each building is interesting and immerses you into the past. it’s free and perfect for a day out for all ages. Bring a pack lunch! the only expense was £7 for all day parking and some gift shop goodies.

We had a great experience at the Museum. Lovely main building with ample parking and facilities. It has a big food court too. The main attraction was the Welsh houses in the complex. They depict the ancient Welsh life effectively. Must have taken a lot of effort to relocate and rebuild these iconic buildings.

National Museum Cardiff is a grand setting that houses archaeological artefacts, art, and natural history exhibits. Visitors can also enjoy temporary exhibitions. The museum boasts the largest collection of Impressionist paintings outside of Paris, featuring works by renowned artists like Renoir, Monet, and Pissarro. Additionally, visitors can explore the city's diverse influences and cultures at Cardiff Castle, which dates back to 55 AD and showcases Roman and Norman architecture.
Amazing museum hands down! Very well maintained space and exhibits. The collection pieces are displayed logically and beautifully. The 1900 - contemporary ceramics collection itself is a great reason enough to visit the museum. So many other current exhibitions running when I was there and they are all great! Very inspiring for everyone visiting.

What an experience! Two very contrasting parts - natural history and art. The museum is completely free and, very kindly stored my suitcase whilst visiting. Several staff members engaged to discuss the exhibits - I found out that T Rex hunted in packs AND made a noise akin to a turkey, not a roar! A great way to spend the afternoon (especially if you're a kid).

Reminded me of the Natural History Museum in London. The section on Welsh geology is incredibly (too?) detailed. The cafe had no vegan food. The building is very grand. In summary, an old school museum.

5th August 2025 This was my first visit to the Cardiff Museum, I took my Canadian cousin's family. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The layout was simple and easy to follow, every exhibit was marked with a brief description & history. What I loved most of all was how child friendly Cardiff Museum is. There were a number of stools for children to sit down, view and take notes if they preferred. In some displays there were artifacts like hats, caps, puzzles, etc that the children could use and have fun. A really good place to visit and it's free to enter.

I had an unbelievable experience at the National Museum of Wales. Words don’t do justice—this is simply a place you must visit! The museum beautifully captures Welsh history, culture, and art. From the fascinating natural history displays and archaeological treasures to the world-class collection of Impressionist paintings, every section is filled with stories worth exploring. I especially enjoyed seeing highlights from Wales’ industrial past and the stunning art galleries featuring works by Monet, Renoir, and Van Gogh. Pros: Free entry (a huge plus!) Wide variety of exhibits (art, history, natural sciences) Great for families and all ages. Rich insight into Welsh heritage and culture. Friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere. If you’re in Wales, don’t miss it—it’s more than just a museum, it’s a journey through time.

A nice location for you to visit with art and ceramics, natural history and so on. You will see the oldest elephant 🐘 skeleton and many good knowledge for Roman culture. Better for a weekend break if you see outside is rainy and need clean free toilets. Sometimes, they play good violin 🎻 and great classical music group🎶. Last time, I heard the Harry Potter song there 👌
Jasmine T — Google review
Brilliant museum for a toddler. My daughter is 3 and loves the dinosaur and animal areas here. We’ve also done several of the activity’s like the scavenger hunts at Easter/Christmas and some crafts. In the holidays they open a room at the far right hand side of museum that has lots of interactive things for kids like gemstones, shells, fossils, magnifying glasses, microscope and some colouring and blocks to play with. The cafe is very overpriced for food and I would say you’d be better bringing a packed lunch or having food in Cardiff somewhere but perfect for a hot drink.
Jordan W — Google review
Well clean, tidy, helpful staff, the place is amazing with about 3 floors worth of history, best thing is it's FREE ENTRY, thanks to Government of Wales for providing free entry to all their museums. It's a hidden gem for family, guaranteed fun, children will love it. Must go place. Unique structure of the building, may be listed. Lots of antics.

Went to watch The Rock Orchestra last night. It was an amazing venue and the was wonderful. Stage was huge and very large seating area, seemed like you would have a good view no matter where you sat. Sound and lighting was great. We didnt have a drink but they seemed to have lots on offer. Toilets were ok and there were plenty of cubicles. Venue staff were efficient and friendly.

Saw Ella Henderson and OneRepublic here. It was a fabulous performance here seeing both performances that lasted a good 3 or more hours. Loved it. The place is huge, and there was plenty of space to stand near the stage as well as plenty of seating around the stage also. There was a bar here, a place to buy merch, another little bar where you could buy alcohol sluhsies, etc. There did seem moments where the voices of the performers did not seem as loud as the instruments and felt a little washed out. Besides that, the music was awesome. To add, if anyone is coming here, be wary that prices of drinks here are very expensive. Asked for 2 malibu and pepsi max and was told 8.50. However, I was only given one drink and realised that was the price for one drink on its own. Baring in mind I was given a plastic cup that was pretty small. Definitely not worth the price. Heard a few other comments regarding the prices also. Whilst I understand that this place needs to make money, the prices are a little over the top. This was the same for a previous act we saw before, back in 2023. JLS. However, I would come here again. I loved the performances and it was great seeing them up close. Overall, brilliant performance, not so great prices for drinks especially if you want to treat and enjoy yourself, otherwise it would have been a 5 star.

We went to see Busted vs McFly at the Utilita Arena Cardiff and honestly it was AMAZING! The atmosphere was unreal from start to finish – everyone was singing, dancing and having the best time. The staff were lovely and everything was really well organised which made the whole experience even better. The sound was spot on and we had such a good view too. Can’t wait to come back for another show! 🎶✨

Went here on Sat 11th October to see Architects live (Supported by House of Protection and Wage War). Very good venue and with helpful staff at the entrance who arranged for me to be able to bring my medication in (I have to take it at a specific time). Sound, lighting, atmosphere. The lot. It was absolutely fantastic. What a show!! I travelled solo and was surprised at how safe I felt in Cardiff. If there's another gig here from a band I want to see, I'd definitely come again. I lost my ear stretcher and staff were helpful with others who lost belongings - Either finding the items or giving is contact details for the lost property team so we could check if they've found it at a later date.

John Shuttleworth 8th April 25, I would just like to say a huge thanks to the wonderful staff who were super attentive to my mobility needs, I currently need a walking stick but I can get by pretty much everywhere, I managed to get up to my seat but the staff very kindly suggest I use their attended lift to come down at the interval and at end of show and fair play they ushered me about beautifully, got me to the bar, back up again and we're waiting for me at the end of show, I didn't want 'special' but that's what I felt thanks to all their help so a huge thank you to all the staff. The show was totally awesome too, I'll be back...

Pros: Great theatre with raked seating so every seat has a great view. Have thoroughly enjoyed several performances here, especially the Christmas shows. Cons: Lack of local parking, no toilet paper pre-show. Hot in theatre. Strongly disagree with their decision to proceed with a show during a red weather warning, when non-necessary travel was advised against. Putting staff, performers and guests at risk.

Love this little independent theatre, specialising in Welsh productions. A larger auditorium for main productions, dance and comedy, plus a studio for a more intimate experience, particularly one-man/woman shows. And in between them a lively bar and lounge area, with a relaxed and friendly vibe. What sets this theatre apart is its accessibility, with most tickets in the region of £20, and a genuine feeling that everyone is equally welcome. Marvellous! ❤️

Great place for kids who love football and to get kids interested in football. My two aren't big footie boys but the fun games here are keeping them running around. Prices on the drinks are very reasonable, 50p for a bottle of water. I just wish the coffee machine hadn't packed in today lol.

If I could leave less stars I would. I booked the ‘party experience’ for my son and 7 of his friends. As for the party part of our experience we were left very disappointed. The ‘party room’ is actually a poorly sectioned off part of the bigger room which was still dirty (crumbs, rubbish and spilled squash) from the previous party, myself and my mother had to clean this up while several members of staff played together on the football activities. We weren’t offered a team photo, squash refill or a party host as the website advertised. A member of staff did stay with the group of kids whilst they played but was busy watching the football when we sat the kids down for food. As if the above isn’t a bad enough experience whilst myself and my mother popped back to our cars to get the party food, balloons etc (after advising staff that we were doing so more than once) we arrived back to being told one of the kids had fallen and hurt their face. I have attached pictures of the damage caused to my sons face and the appliance that he fell onto. I was advised by staff that one of the other children in the party had accidentally tripped my son up whilst they were playing. As I had popped to my car I only have the staff members word for this but despite the reason for the accident if the appliance had been sufficiently capped and padded my son would have had a bruise at the most. Instead he had bad cuts, which have scarred!! And is very lucky bit to have had his eye out. I have of course been in touch with Football Fiesta in regards to my sons face in the hope that I would receive an apology and be assured that they would ensure this wouldn’t happen to any other children to be told that they can not help that another child tripped my son and it is my fault as I left my son alone. As you can imagine I’m absolutely disgusted in the response that I received and would never recommend anyone visit this place. The party experience is a shambles and appliances are unsafe!

Don't watch the video on YouTube from a few years ago as it's nothing like that. Two young boys running it under cardiff City fc. The boys sat on desk the whole time I was there with my daughter, didn't help or encourage kids in anyway.. Half the equipment wasn't working.. Its OK for a kick about in the dry but that's about it. But disappointed overall.

Not good since moved to city stadium. Stood outside in rain waiting after our time slot started. Heavy dance music extremely loud can’t hear each other. No flow to the layout so hard to go between games. Everything worn out. Very expensive for what it is. Good concept but really lacking.

A little less 'wow' than I expected after reviewing the website but the kids absolutely loved it. Plenty to keep the lads (and dads) more than entertained for the hour. Could have stayed longer to be fair. We went as part of our Under 10s end of season presentation and it was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

I am not a local fellow, was visiting my friend's place. Curiously checked in and enjoyed the session with my 3 years old son. Friendly customer service and various rooms offering interesting activities to train football. I wish, I also had any branch in my area. Small corner cafe offering light snacks and drinks. If possible can do online booking for a cheaper price.

Wouldn’t bother going. Booked session prior to going however when arrived the whole place was absolutely carnage, the children could barely get a look in on anything due to older children and adults taking over the place. Spent 60 minutes standing around waiting their turn. For 3 children who are football mad it wasn’t a good experience!
Ceri F — Google review
2 stars because the staff were polite and helpful. Unfortunately the equipment looks tired and the new venue being the entrance of Cardiff City stadium is unpractical and not suited for children's activities. Hopefully they change venue to something they had before.

Had a lovely time watch the T20, England v South Africa. The food and drink is a little pricey as are most of these places. I would say the staff do need a little more training with the tickets scanners as they weren't going to let us in as they said the ticket had been used twice, which it hadn't,the 1st lady wasn't overly helpful to sort out the issue but after asking some other staff we were able to get the issue sorted.

Fantastic ground and easy to get to whether walking from the city centre and coming by car. The staff are always friendly and happy to help. The food and drink are reasonably priced.

Excellent first visit to Sofia Gardens to watch Welsh Fire 🔥 play Trent Rockets 🚀 in The Hundred Cricket Competition. Lovely walk from the train station to the Cricket ground which includes the Park. Very helpful Stewards on arrival at the ground and excellent drink, food and toilet facilities! Good to see station to refill water bottles. Good seating with very good views of the pitch and whole ground. Excellent experience will be back!

Went to watch the hundred. Parking was little expensive and took 45 mins to leave after game had finished but other than that the day was fantastic. Received flags and sponge hands on approach. Greeted by fantastic friendly Steward and brilliant views for two games of cricket for £43. Lovely food in the ground, refreshing snow cones. 10/10 for the day.

Treetop Adventure Golf is a vibrant mini-golf experience nestled in the heart of Cardiff, perfect for everyone from kids to university students. If you're looking for an alternative to traditional date nights, this jungle-themed venue offers a fun escape with tropical cocktails and delicious bites. Located within the bustling St David's Shopping Centre, it features two exciting 18-hole courses—Ancient Explorer and Tropical Trail—where you can navigate through lush greenery reminiscent of a South American rainforest.
This is a relaxing place to spend quality time with family or friends while having fun. The environment is clean and well-maintained, and they provide locks for the safe keeping of your belongings. The staff is friendly and welcoming, contributing to an enjoyable experience.

Really fun course, interactive holes and cool aesthetics. Wasn't expensive either for 18 holes, definitely recommend. Only thing this place needs is a tee off mat at the start of each hole but that's it.
Bobby N — Google review
My friends and I visited Sunday evening and had a fabulous time. The golf course is well designed, challenging but doable and fun. We tried the new festive menu and had pizzas and cocktails. All were superb and the prices are a real bargain. We’ll def be back to try the rest. The staff were super friendly and helpful, thank you so so much for having us!

great experience. Got two courses for the price of 1 due to the time of day we arrived. Both 18 hole courses, both feature some novelty holes but essentially are actually quite tricky to navigate which makes it more challenging and enjoyable to play. All the staff were lovely and very helpful and enthusiastic. Great fun, great value too

We loved spending a couple of hours here. We have showed our children the pictures and videos since coming home and they are desperate to go. Looks like there is one opening in Bristol which is much closer for us, so we'll definitely be taking them there when it's up and running!! Fun, clean environment. Bar was a bonus!!

I’ve always enjoyed visiting Treetop, but my experience in the early afternoon today wasn’t as positive. During my visit one of the female staff members stood out for the wrong reasons. While most of the staff were friendly and helpful, this person seemed reluctant to support others and came across with a poor attitude when asked to assist. It stood out compared to the great service I usually get here, and I hope it’s something management addresses :(

The Globe, located on Albany Road in the heart of Roath, is a former cinema that has been transformed into an intimate live music venue with a capacity for 350 people. The space includes both an auditorium and a balcony, offering different perspectives for enjoying performances. Known for hosting well-known rock bands, comedians, and DJs, The Globe has become a popular spot in Cardiff's music scene.
The Felice Brothers gig was outstanding, ideal venue, great rapport between audience and group. Great live band
Michael — Google review
I've been too many concerts (Guns & roses, Green Day etc) but I must say, AC/DC UK were absolutely amazing this evening. They not only put on a good performance, but made us feel we were part of the act. The venue was very accommodating and was very intimate. The balcony area was amazing for a good overall view. Great Gig. Would highly recommend :)
Greg J — Google review
We visited here to see Luke Combs experience and the gig itself was fantastic. The time just flew by and everyone was enjoying the atmosphere. We were lucky enough to find some standing space up on the balcony, and we could still see over just fine (I'm 5ft6, and hubs is 6ft3). There was an exit from the balcony to the toilet and also an extra bar serving limited drinks upstairs, so we didn't have to try and fight through the crowd. I have deducted a star because the drinks were a bit steep and they really needed more staff on the downstairs bar to keep up with demand. Otherwise it was a great night.

Pizza Hut never disappoints! 🍕🔥 The crust is always perfectly baked, the cheese is so gooey and delicious, and the toppings are loaded just right. Every bite feels like comfort food heaven. Definitely my go-to spot when I’m craving pizza happiness! 😍👏

Great music venue for smaller intimate gigs. I've seen comedians, music artists on the cusp of their music career turning big and big artists wanting to play to a smaller audience. All were amazing. Fantastic sound and atmosphere. Good views of the artists on stage, your really close. Downside is there isn't much parking nearby. Also i don't know how accessible the venue is if you are unable to use stairs.

Good place for a night out for tribute bands, good value bar, loads of restaurants and cafes within five minute walk..

One of my favourite small music venues, really intimate and close to the artists along with fantastic sound acoustics.

Wicked little venue. Came here for an impromptu dnb night after a concert at the principality... Security were so sound they didn't even search us or check our tickets on the way in. I am a big fan of Cardiff people and their hospitality. 10/10 would come back again Love DJ Marky. Event promoter feel free to message as we did plan on paying for tickets. Know the struggles or promoting nights and I had a lot of fun here. You don't deserve to v out of pocket.

It caters to the over 30s crowd and offers low-key shows by big names in rock music as well as dance music events. The club features three floors with diverse music offerings, ensuring there's something for everyone.
Amazing atmosphere for this small venue in the centre of Cardiff. Saw Slow Pulp and it was phenomenal, staff were kind, music sounded great. Nothing to complain about apart from how boiling it was in there but didn’t ruin the experience.
CORGAN B — Google review
Me and my daughter purchased tickets for the ( Molotov's) gig last night my daughter was refused entry because her student ID card apparently is not accepted as a valid form ID although she's nearly 19 , I did explain this to the door staff outside saying we have been to loads of gigs in Cardiff including The Tramshed & Cardiff University and she has never been challenged before ??? Unfortunately she does not drive so doesn't have a valid drivers licence and she never carries her passport around with her . As I am her father and was present at the show with her last night ( Molotov's ) i think your door staff should be a little more understanding and at least be able to present a wrist band or something if you feel a person might be not suitable to purchased alcohol inside your venue. Sadly we lost our money and didn't see a band we wanted and my daughter felt a bit humiliated to be honest. We won't be coming back to your venue again.

This place has the best themed club nights, always feel really safe here and everyone's just there to have a good time. Never takes too long to get a drink either. Events range from chapel roan, saltburn or kink themed nights! Something for everyone. Also love this place as a gig venue, I've come here about 3 times for gigs and have had great experiences every time. It's great to get so close to the band in this intimate venue.

What a fantastic venue. Went to see Sam Ryder who was AMAZING 🩷 The venue is small and intimate and the sound is very good. I want to say a special thanks to lovely the staff that helped us. My friend is a wheelchair user and the gig was on the top floor. There is no disabled access. The staff helped my friend up and back down after the gig and treated her with the upmost respect. They were very lovely and friendly and really helped what could have been a very difficult situation into a positive one. Thank you so much for your kindness ☺️

Great place for a gig. Good bar, reasonably priced. The stage is just high enough to give most people a decent view. Reasonable sound on the night I went, although unusually, the sound clarity was better for the support band. The club has also been used when recording Doctor Who, for any Whovians out there. Recommended.

Water park
Aqua Park Cardiff is a thrilling floating water park in Cardiff Bay, offering an action-packed experience with inflatable structures like slides, climbing walls, monkey bars, and trampolines. It's a popular choice for group activities such as stag and hen dos or family outings. Suitable for kids aged eight and up, the park provides an exhilarating open water experience with scenic bay views. Whether it's sunny or not, visitors can slip, slide, and splash their way through this unique attraction.
Bigger and better than last year. On a scorching June Saturday if your not participating consider bringing camping chair or a picnic blanket to sit down on, possibly an umbrella as no shade. The Aqua Park sell drinks, ice lollies, crisps and snacks at fairly reasonable prices. Water is cold but wet suit isn't necessary if you don't mind colder water.
Matthew H — Google review
What an amazing experience for my kids ! Picture it 30 degree heat a stunning lake and an inflatable park on the lake, like something off the movies. The park, experience and staff were amazing especially Sam and James Jones. The sixties service they delivered was second to none and even with one of the kids feeling nervous they used the twin power to encourage and bring fun in a comfortable manner to both kids. The one, despite being nervous, forgot all about it thanks to Sam and James and they delivered nothing but fun and encouragement. The kids want to go again and again and loved also seeing the local wildlife as they played. The local wildlife were completely unfazed by the aqua park and were actually enjoying the benefits from the park. Highly recommend this and what a great benefit for the park itself meaning that teens also have some productive to enjoy at the park

Good place to enjoy Swimming in real natural environment but make sure you are Swim in sea water it's very deep down. floating inflatable Aqua Park has climbing walls, trampolines, balance bars, slides, blast bags and monkey bars making it the beautiful day out. But there changing room and Specially toilet without water and toilet paper. Otherwise good place to Swimmer.
Nazakat H — Google review
Fantastic trip to the Aqua park! Had a great time with the kids on the inflatables. Staff were all brilliant, professional but fun and easy to talk to. Was a bit wary after seeing all of the negative opinions before it opened, however I would encourage all those who thought it would be detrimental to Cosmeston to go along. You will quickly see how minimal the impact to the Lake is, and how much it brings to the community. While you are there have a go on the blast bags, absolutely brilliant 😁😁
Dan F — Google review
Very poor hygiene standards at the Aqua Park. The majority of the apparatus was covered in bird excrement, which is disgusting and a serious health risk. After swimming in the lake, there are no showers available, nowhere to wash your hands once you’ve changed, and the “changing rooms” are just a porta cabin with a few benches. To make matters worse, the floor of the porta cabin was covered in mud, making it even more unpleasant. With bird mess all over the equipment, no showers, no handwashing facilities, no private changing cubicles, and filthy changing conditions, I cannot recommend this place at all. Basic hygiene and visitor comfort are being completely ignored.
Scott W — Google review
Closed short notice due to flooding around the aqua park. End of season too so cant rebook and have to wait for a refund in the next 3-7 days. Hopefully they will move it to somewhere better than this place next year. So many better places they could put this than in a (was) quiet lake
Tyler N — Google review
People who pay for this, do you know that if you follow the path past the aqua thing, there are warning signs to "NOT SWIM IN THE LAKE", These were put there by the local council to protect people. I find it very conspicuous that none of these signs are near the Aqua thing. If anyone is injured, or becomes ill, will you have a case against the company or council? I doubt it as the signs are there, but NOT near the aqua thing. My grandchildren are banned from it. PS some wont know or care but much needed wildlife is suffering as a result of the aqua thing that was allowed, but to my knowledge, without planning permission

Cardiff Bay is a popular leisure development with plenty of activities for families and individuals. The Barrage Walkway Park hosts the Cardiff Bay Beach festival from July to September, offering family fun and a complementary land train passing by the BBC Porth Teigr studios. Visitors can enjoy water sports, a fun fair during summer, and various restaurants in the area. The bay also features statues, monuments, heritage trails, cycle routes, and interpretation boards.
Anyone visiting Cardiff must try Cardiff Bay. A short bus ride No6 is simple enough. You can only imagine how large the ships that docked here were. 🚢 The window views of the bay from Cadwaladers cafe is worth the visit too. The shops are set up in a quiet precinct style. Next time I visit Cardiff will be for the boat ride that explores the bay.

Even with no events going on, Cardiff Bay is a fun spot to spend half the day. There are lots of cafes, restaurants, a ferris wheel, and unique spots like the Pierhead building and Norwegian Church. There are also lots of boating companies eager to give you a ride through the bay itself, usually asking for about 15ish pounds per person. We’re glad we spent some time here.

It has been many years since our last visit and we had a lovely day! Great place to visit for all ages. Lovely and clean, plenty going on. Family Funfair was quite busy by late afternoon. Lots of historic buildings and amazing statues with details of the history. Vast amount of restaurants. We had a nice pub meal at The Mount Stuart Pub. Plenty of inside and outside seating, staff very friendly and helpful. Further up past the Norwegian Church is a nice walk with different play areas for children. All in all a lovely day out!

Fforest Fawr Sculpture Trail is a magical one-and-a-half-mile path through a woodland area near Castell Coch. Visitors can explore various walking paths and encounter whimsical sculptures like dragons, wizards, and caves. The trail is family-friendly and suitable for dog walking, but may not be ideal for wheelchairs due to uneven terrain.
Brilliant for dog walks and a great nature trail for the children. Visited 3 weeks ago with dogs and granddaughter and we had a lovely time.

4 of us went here yesterday, myself, my daughter and my parents. Never knew about the place until 3 days ago. What a magical place. From the dragon in the car park to wizards and caves it's like a fairyland. The car park is free and the walk is free what's not to like. So many different walking paths to take but you wont get lost. Lots of dog walkers around so dogs are fine. Seen some people with a pram but I would say it would be very awkward for a wheelchair user. My mother has walking difficulties and she was ok, but the terrain is a natural forestry so stepping over broken logs etc. Not easy for a wheelchair. The only reason I didn't give it 5* is because of lack of seating while on the walks. There really should be a few benches scattered around. Will definitely return though.
Beccy E — Google review
Went back in August 2020 with my family. Nice little walk doing the Sculpture Trail, especially with my nieces and nephews in tow! They loved having their pictures taken with all the weird and wonderful sculptures and thought the 3 Bears Cave was “cool”. The trail itself isn’t challenging, but I definitely recommend wearing at least trainers or something sturdy as the ground isn’t always flat (some rogue tree roots around). And remember folks, please take all rubbish with you before you leave as it just ruins the experience for others (and you’re better than that)!
Sammy S — Google review
We loved our first visit here even with the rain pelting down on us. We thoroughly enjoyed the sculpture walk and will be back soon to visit the caves.
Debra S — Google review
A little gem! Parking is free and so is the sculpture trail! We went with our children (4 and 1 years old - a push chair was needed for the little one). There is another entrance through to the trail in the carpark (you pass the dragon sculpture to get through the woods and then go up to the right) or if you have someone there with you, they can help lift the pushchair over the patch next to the gateway). When driving towards the car park, it feels like you will never find the place and then (what felt like out of nowhere) the car park is on the left! As soon as you enter, you see some of the sculptures that the site has to offer. And they are beautiful. To start the trail, you head up into the woods (we had to ask a fellow visitor how to get there as the forest is HUGE!). The sculptures are constant and easy to find. My 4yo had great fun looking for them and discovering what each sculpture was! As you walk through the woodlands, you have spectacular scenery that the welsh countryside has to offer. Plenty of different wild flowers to see and easily a great day out for dogwalkers too! As we were nearing the end of the trail, we discovered the 'Three Bears Caves' - you were greeted with a big and baby bear sculpture to the entrance of it. Whilst it looks steep, there are steps to navigate down to the caves and were lovely to see. Would definitely recommend this as a great free day out as there is so much exploring that can be done there!
