Festival
Tasmania's Taste of Summer, also known as The Taste of Tasmanian Festival, is a vibrant annual event in Hobart that showcases the finest offerings from the region. This festival features an array of Tasmanian food, wine, beer, and music. Visitors can explore tasting tables and food stalls at Hobart's Princes Wharf while browsing through arts, crafts, and artisan stalls.
Excellent variety of food and drinks. A bit on the expensive side but understandable. Excellent atmosphere as well, especially as each yacht arrives.
Jimmy T — Google review
Lots of food to choose from, plenty of wines/beers/ciders. If you want to sit outside to watch yachts arrive from Sydney get there early. Music was pretty good.
Julia L — Google review
The vibe is so good, esp with the live band, derwent wine is so nice
Wing L — Google review
A vast improvement on the old taste of Tasmania plenty of seating plenty of choices reasonable prices are great vibe

(Translated by Google) ~Tasmania's best food festival~ A food festival I came across by chance while traveling in Tasmania, Australia. Delicious food and alcohol from all over Tasmania were gathered, and bands played cheerful music on stage, making it a great festival where you could enjoy food and music. The food was especially delicious, with Tasmanian seafood such as paella and grilled squid. There are many breweries, wineries, and distilleries, and the local beer and wine were also great, making for a pleasant evening. If you are going to Tasmania during the New Year holidays or summer, please be sure to go. Tickets were available to purchase on the day. Thank you for the delicious food!

Brought a pass for entire event. Food was extremely expensive for small plates. Not a big eater but you'd definitely need to buy two plates to be full. if your a big eater 3 or 4. keep in mind these plates are $$$$. Music excellent and as the night goes on acts get better. Also the food vendors ARE NOT a "taste of Tasmainia" One vendor travelled from Sydney. Would I go again, probably not

Pizza restaurant
Solo Pasta and Pizza in Hobart offers a memorable dining experience with its delicious food and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant, owned by Francesco, seamlessly blends casual and fine dining, serving dishes crafted with fresh ingredients that burst with unique flavors. The diavolo fettuccine pasta is particularly recommended. The friendly staff provides impeccable service, making diners feel like part of the family.
One of the best Italian places I’ve had in Australia! The food is amazing, and service was good too. Best to make a booking especially around peak hours as it gets very packed and the wait times can be quite long. The portions are quite large, these 2 pastas and pizza were shared between 3 very hungry people and it still filled us. We got the mushroom risotto, gamberi fettuccine and a half and half pizza with mafiosi (right) and avati (left). You get the option of choosing the type of pasta. Definitely recommend the risotto, very creamy and cheesy, mushroom flavour not too overpowering and just delicious. The gamberi pasta was also cooked to perfection, very generous serving of the prawns, the sauce was not too oily and greasy either. Pizza wise, mafiosi was definitely preferred over avati, very cheesy and generous toppings. Overall definitely highly recommend this place, I would want to eat here again if I have the chance!
Scarlett — Google review
I absolutely adore their food! The seafood risotto is a game changer—especially when you add that chilli oil; it’s just perfect. And let’s not forget the pizza and calamari, which are simply delightful.
Belinda Z — Google review
The food was delicious, especially the risotto it was exactly what I was hoping for, seasoned to perfection. The stuffed pizza took a little longer to arrive likely due to the Saturday crowd. The restaurant has dim lighting and a cosy atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. Overall it was a fantastic dining experience 😘

We came here a few weeks ago on a Friday night, chaperoning a teen birthday party of 10 girls. This place is a pizza and pasta restaurant, order pizza or pasta!! The atmosphere was lively, it was a busy night with all tables booked... Service for hubby and I on the table for 2 was good, we were adequately attended to. However the table of 10 teen girls seemed to get ignored and they had to chase a waitress down to make an order.. A minor annoyance really. The girls all enjoyed their pizzas, we had some of the left overs the next day - it was good pizza. Hubby and I decided to share a variety of plates. We started with the antipasto - delicious and the fresh "pita/pizza bread" was good with the dips. The dips appeared homemade and the cured meats were yummy! We then shared the wagyu carpaccio - it was presented nice, thin slices, meat was still frozen (I get it, needs to be for slicing) so we let it sit a bit.. And then, unfortunately the meat had no flavour.. It was over powered by the rocket and dressing/sauce drops on the plate. Chilli and salt fried calamari - average at best, batter soggy and some piece had texture of being undercooked, no chilli identified in it. But the real kick to the shins was the Cestino Fritto Di Mare for $39 - it says "hand-battered blue grenadier" in the menu, but we were served 2x pieces of what I could buy in a cardboard box from the frozen section of Coles, I was absolutely disappointed!.. Unfortunately I did not get a chance to provide my feedback, as we were never asked how our meal was even after spending over $350 there (between the 2 tables). So lesson learnt, don't come here for something that isn't pizza or pasta... If you want anything else, go somewhere that is an "Italian restaurant" not a pizza and pasta restaurant. If it wasn't for the pizza and antipasto platter the food would have got a 1 star rating!
Tabitha S — Google review
Solo Pasta & Pizza is a sensational eatery in Sandy Bay Hobart. The food is delightful & the staff have pride with everything they do. Angela & Nisha I couldn’t speak higher about. The gentleman at the bar on Friday & Saturday who I believe is the Manager (wish I grabbed his name) is also a gem. I can’t wait to visit early next year with my kids!
Aaron A — Google review
As somone who is exclusively orders carbonara when dining at Italian restaurants due to a long-standing obsession with it, I’m not exaggerating when I say that, to my absolute surprise, this was one of the, if not, the best carbonara I’ve ever had. The pasta was cooked to perfection, the sauce was light yet flavourful, and the ingredients were plentiful. A meal to remember at such an unassuming joint!

Cozy and comfy Italian restaurant in Hobart, loving the vibes! The food was delicious, and the service is amazing. Went here during my stay in Hobart, and all I could say that this restaurant is exceeded my expectations:) a must try! Also the price is extremely reasonable for the taste!!
Maulina A — Google review
Average food. But the service and atmosphere were excellent. Our company of five enjoyed the food, but somehow it didn't click as 100% Italian food. The staff were very attentive and friendly and helpful. The price is on high end. Would recommend this place.

Fluer was very professional and easy to talk to, she mapped out my eyebrows to ensure they were going to be perfect before doing the most gentle wax and tint I’ve ever had. My eyebrows were barely red afterward and they would normally be the shade of a tomato for the remainder of the day! Very happy and will continue to come here for all of my beauty needs.

Wonderful experience, felt pampered as I had my eyebrows and lashes tinted with a wax. Fleur made me feel very welcome. Will definitely be moving onto an eyebrow tattoo in the future. Thank you! 😊

Happy with my eyebrow journey. Fleur explains everything and makes your feel comfortable. Fleur is anwesome and very professional. Added bonus that the salon is in the city. Process not complete yet. Definitley recommend her. 🤍

Absolutely thrilled with my Fleur’s work! She skillfully corrected the previous brow job and created stunning brows that perfectly suit my face. Her artistry and professionalism are unmatched, thank you so much!
Nina E — Google review
Fleur made me relaxed, explained the process of eyelash extensions and aftercare to me clearly. Fleur made me laugh and the process was like talking to an old friend who I had known for a lifetime. My lashes look incredible and I was complemented as soon as I arrived to work after they were done. My lashes have lasted and Fleur explained lash fallout and infills needed. I cannot recommend Fleur and her other services more in her cute studio in South Hobart
Scarlett A — Google review
Fleur has given me the most incredible brows !! I am so in love with them, they look so natural that my bf actually didn't know I had them tattooed, she is a professional and a master brow artist. The set up is spacious, sterile clean and there's even a blanket to keep you cozy. She informed me of why and what she was doing throughout the service and informed me of all the after care precautions I needed to follow. I have beautiful, even, fully healed natural looking powder brows and they are incredible.
