Jazz club
Preservation Hall, located in the French Quarter of New Orleans, is a historic venue dedicated to preserving and honoring the city's jazz tradition. Established in 1961, this no-frills space with wooden floors and minimal seating offers an intimate and authentic jazz experience. Despite its lack of air-conditioning, it continues to attract crowds eager to witness performances by the renowned Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
In the heart of the French Quarter in New Orleans lies Preservation Hall, a legendary venue dedicated to keeping the spirit of traditional New Orleans jazz alive. Since its founding in 1961, this humble space has been filled with the sound of live jazz every single night. There are no microphones, no flashy lights—just the raw energy of the musicians and the pure sound of their instruments. Seating is limited, and sometimes you’ll even find yourself sitting on the floor, but that only makes the experience more authentic and powerful. The resident Preservation Hall Jazz Band tours the world and is considered one of the cultural ambassadors of New Orleans. For any jazz lover, this place is nothing short of sacred. Thanks to its central location in the French Quarter, it’s easy to stop by while exploring the city—but with such limited seating, booking in advance is highly recommended. If you want to experience the true essence of New Orleans at night, Preservation Hall is the place to be.

I had the chance to experience Preservation Hall about ten years ago, and when I returned to New Orleans recently, I didn’t think twice about going back. It was just as amazing as I remembered! The musicians are incredibly talented, and the whole experience feels so authentic. Close your eyes, and it’s like you’re in a movie ❤️absolutely magical. A must-do in NOLA!
Sabrina S — Google review
We had a wonderful time here! Short 45 min concert but sooo entertaining! It’s a small area and you’re right there with the musicians. All of them are so talented and we enjoyed every single minute! Definitely recommend.
Cassie F — Google review
Great jazz venue, talented musicians, friendly staff. I highly recommend attending a concert here if you are visiting New Orleans. Sitting space fills up pretty quickly, so it’s best to purchase tickets in advance.
Olga S — Google review
This was by far the most wonderful experience in such an unexpected way. It was truly authentic jazz music. We felt it in our soul and enjoyed it so much more than we ever expected. Highly recommend. We bought tickets about 2 weeks ahead of time and got to the hall about 30 minutes early. That worked out great.
Erica C — Google review
Never fails to impress everytime I go. The setting is what makes it intimate. Accomodates a small group seated or standing. $25 to stand in the back for a 50 minute set in an atmosphere unlike any other is quite reasonable. An iconic must visit place for jazz/blues fans, or if you love music of any kind. Just pure beautiful acoustic music played for you, no mics or equipments. It's a experience like no other.
Rashmi B — Google review
This was the highlight of the trip. If tickets were available, I would have spent the money to go back. If you are a fan of joy and love music this is a must stop. In a little room, 6 musicians just absolutely bring it. We spent money on front row and in all honesty, it was a steal. The only unfortunate thing is they ask you not to photograph or video. Thankfully the memories will be in my head for as long as I have my brain functions. The musicians were awesome…but a special shout out to Ronell Johnson. Not only did he rule the trombone, but stuck around after the show for pictures and laughs until we were out the door. Such an awesome dude.
Sean R — Google review
Wow!!! A must go in your New Orleans visit. The highlight of our family trip… What an amazing experience. We were there on Monday, August 11 for our twins birthday. The music was unforgettable… the band members were so warm, funny and TALENTED! We would love to hear them again. Really ANY seat is perfect because it is a small venue- very intimate. Thank you for making our evening so memorable.

Live music bar
The Spotted Cat Music Club is a renowned jazz and blues venue in New Orleans, known for its intimate and lively atmosphere. The weathered bar hosts live acts on a small stage, drawing in a standing-room crowd eager to experience the velvety tones of sax, swing of trombone, and soul-thumping beat of drums.
Got to witness some excellent jazz at the Spotted Cat Music Club even on a Monday night! Only a $5 pp cover charge to enter after which you can stay for as long as you like. Reasonable cocktails, beer and a safe but lively atmosphere. We managed to grab a couple of seats along the wall and had a great view, but other than those and the seats at the bar, the club is standing room only. It filled out quickly post dinner for the 21:30 show. Check out the schedule on their website to know who is playing when and plan your visit accordingly.
Krati T — Google review
Good logo, cool building, good merch and great jazz Came here to watch an enthusiastic ensemble perform funk swing covers of pop classics while my friend browsed an art market next door. As I entered I was somewhat frustrated in my friends’ decision to browse the art market after finally dragging them to Frenchmen street after a week in New Orleans. At this point I was not waiting any longer to quench my thirst for jazz. The band were incredible, and had so much energy. One of the best trumpet players I’ve seen and value for entry was not bad!
Max R — Google review
My Uber driver told me to check this place out and I'm so glad that I did. The music was amazing! I ended up staying longer than I originally thought I would but the show was so amazing and engaging. It's a very small venue so be prepared to be a bit crowded but it's so worth it. They had a lot of options for drinks and despite how busy it was the bartender was still very helpful. One of those spots where you feel like you travel back in time.
Fi — Google review
An upbeat fun experience. Casual vibe and great music. You have to work your way through the crowd to get to the bar for a drink but once you do you will be greeted with fast service. Check them out. Great tunes.
Scott R — Google review
There is a cover charge. Great little club for live music & the band & vibe was great. No food. Not many Non alcoholic drink options. Very limited seating, standing room is most likely what you will have available. The locals are absolutely awesome! Glad we stopped in while in town.
Athena P — Google review
We went in search of an intimate, no-frills NOLA jazz experience—and this spot exceeded all expectations! The cozy stage set the perfect tone, and every musician was absolutely fantastic. The cocktail menu had some unique and creative options, and there was plenty of standing room with a few stools scattered around for when you needed a break. It captured the essence of New Orleans perfectly—laid-back, soulful, and unforgettable.
Srinjana D — Google review
Some of the BEST music in NOLA. Music all of the time after 2pm. We saw Jenavieve and the Winding boys, they were phenomenal. Please tip the bands, that's how they survive. Tall boy domestic cans at a decent price. Friendly bartenders. Nice selection of specialty cocktails, but they'll make you anything you want. Frenchman St is a must when visiting New Orleans.

Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro is a historic venue in New Orleans, offering live jazz music and upscale Creole cuisine in an intimate setting with brick walls dating back to the 1800s. The bistro has been a staple of the city's music scene for over 30 years, hosting renowned musicians and providing a platform for young talent to gain real-world experience. While it used to feature live music seven nights a week, the COVID-19 pandemic has led to changes in its schedule.
We dined there because we came to see a jazz band performance. They have dining room and performance room. Rooms are separate but you could here a concert while you're dining. Menu and prices are typical for the New Orleans restaurants. The performance room menu offers drinks and light snacks. The room itself is small and cozy. We enjoyed the performance very much.

I loved the shrimp Po Boy! And the shrimp deviled eggs. Never had anything like that. The music was good. Staff were nice and attentive. My wife had the gumbo, fantastic.
Anthony G — Google review
I wanted an authentic, jazz experience in a quieter setting than a bar, and this exceeded every expectation! The food was delicious! I had the BBQ shrimp, which was divine. The music room is a quant room where you really feel up close with the artists. We loved being able to sit and just enjoy the music. 10/10 recommend for your trip!

An Unforgettable Evening with Charlie Gabriel and Larry Sieberth at The Listen Room What an incredible night of music! Charlie Gabriel and Larry Sieberth delivered unforgettable performances at The Listen Room, showcasing their masterful talent and musical chemistry. Gabriel’s soulful playing and warm stage presence, paired with Sieberth’s nuanced, expressive piano, created a magical atmosphere from start to finish. The Listen Room itself added to the experience — an intimate, cozy venue that offered a close-up view of these legendary performers. The acoustics were spot-on, and the setting made the audience feel like part of something truly special. It was a rare and beautiful night where music, setting, and spirit came together perfectly. A must-see experience for any true music lover.

We saw Ray Brown tribute with the Gavin Eckler Trio. They are amazing! The sound system did a great job for the space in the room. We had dinner before the concert and food and drinks were good quality and fresh. Wait staff was friendly and attentive.
Arlene W — Google review
We weren't able to see the jazz performance, but the food was terrific! We ordered the grilled salmon, fish marigny either a side of jambalaya, cup fo seafood gumbo, baked potato, and red beans and rice with chicken tenders. All of the food were delectable! The seafood gumbo was rich in flavor. The jambalaya was cooked well. I especially loved the fish marigny and grilled salmon! Come by for the food, stay for the jazz. Or is it the other way around? Either way, visit this restaurant and jazz bar. You won't regret it. Plus, it's a good place to start your trek along Frenchmen St.
Jetz-Marion C — Google review
What a great time seeing the huge Jazz band play on Wednesday the 29th. Very entertaining and a great historical feel. Loved it and highly recommend checking this place out. MAKE SURE TO BUY TICKETS! This is not a walk in show.

Decent place, would probably go again. Ordered quite a few New Orleans classics, and was not disappointed. The place itself has a lot of art and you can go listen to some live music inside.

Fritzel's European Jazz Pub, a historic establishment on Bourbon Street since 1969, is renowned for its nightly live jazz performances and cozy atmosphere. Despite its location in the lively heart of New Orleans, the pub remains true to its roots and attracts both local and international jazz musicians. Visitors can enjoy traditional New Orleans jazz standards performed by talented local groups and solo artists seven nights a week. The pub also hosts jazz musicians from around the world, offering an authentic experience for music enthusiasts.
We went twice during our visit to New Orleans and loved the atmosphere and the classic live jazz. Very talented musicians! The drinks aren't cheap but the entertainment is class and the place is beautiful. I think they have live jazz every night (not the same band, the musicians rotate) we were there on a Sunday and a Monday and it was great. There is a sign near the stage that says no dancing which was a bit disappointing lol, so we just moved on to other bars in the area when we were ready for a bit of a boogie.
Caterina B — Google review
Caught Fritzel’s All Star Jazz band playing the quintessential New Orleans jazz on a Wednesday night and they were lovely! There was no cover charge to enter, good draft as well as bottled beer options and interesting cocktails to try. There was plenty of seating, a cozy atmosphere and great service.
Krati T — Google review
The best place in the French Quarter to see live music. Period. Everyone in your party has to order drinks. So we ordered a couple of $10 beers. No food since it was late night. The vibe of the place feels like your are in an olden days when jazz was king. Definitely worth a stop in if you are music fans.
G A — Google review
Great little jazz bar we strolled into. Had a couple of drinks while listening to the band. (side note ' Went out the back to find the restroom and saw the cutest orange kitty napping 😻)
Tiffany H — Google review
A wonderful bar that appreciates good jazz. After 5 PM, high-quality jazz bands perform daily. We came to this bar throughout our week-long stay in New Orleans and thoroughly enjoyed it. The standard requirement is to buy one drink (they even have non-alcoholic options) and then listen to jazz.
Victoria S — Google review
We were just there for the music mainly. I can't review the drinks, because they have way too much sugar for me. My companions enjoyed theirs. The music, jazz, was great. We had seats on what appeared to be a small picnic table. It wasn't very comfy.
Larry P — Google review
Hands down the best place in New Orleans on Bourbon Street. The band was off the hook, with the best authentic set of jazz. We were seated immediately, mixed in with locals and vacationers in the pub's open bench style seating which created a unique experience that allowed us to meet new people, share drinks and stories and love of the music. By the end of the night we made new friends and exchanged social media. The service is outstanding, the drinks are delicious and the atmosphere is electric!

Maple Leaf Bar is a beloved local hangout in New Orleans known for its live music, especially on Tuesday nights when the famous Rebirth Brass Band performs. The bar has an intimate and casual atmosphere, with a hopping dance floor that draws in sweaty, adoring fans. It's popular among locals, university students, and visitors alike.
Classic, old-school music hall. If you're a live music lover the shows here are always top notch. This isn't cover band territory, and some of the best musicians/bands play here regularly. Famous venue, featured in movies and TV shows. Bartenders here are awesome, and there's a nice back patio of you need to chill out for a bit.
Mark M — Google review
This place is legit. Small, intimate, authentic setting. And the music was absolute fire. Happy Organ Hour indeed! WOW! One of the few places I went on my trip to New Orleans that I would visit again.
Deborah S — Google review
I've been going to the Maple Leaf since 1993. There's nothing like it. But maybe I'm a little biased because I bartended there from '99 to '00, I met my wife there, we had our rehearsal dinner there (a crawfish boil, of course), and I even lived upstairs for a little bit.
Lucio M — Google review
Lovely bar! Thought $25 was going to be a bit of an overspend for a random off-season show but had a great time. Lovely atmosphere and the owners were very welcoming!
Zappa L — Google review
Came on a Tuesday night and was pleasantly surprised by the music and the nice vibes! $20 cover fee and they play two sets of music !
Tamar W — Google review
I went to the Maple Leaf Bar not knowing exactly what to expect, and honestly, it ended up being one of the highlights of my time in New Orleans. It’s a no-frills, down-to-earth kind of place that’s all about the music—and the music is incredible. The band that night was electric. You could feel the sound in your chest, and the whole crowd moved with it. The vibe inside was packed but friendly, and you could tell most of the people there really cared about the music, not just partying. No one was trying too hard—it felt real and local in the best way.
Miranda L — Google review
One of my primary go-to music venues, which has great music practically every night of the week, always LiveStreamed on YouTube and archived under the Live tab on their channel.
David F — Google review
A completely different venue than anything you'll experience on Bourbon St, MLB is where locals go to see great music. We saw George Porter Jr featuring Chris Adkins and Terrence Houston. Holy cow!! They absolutely knocked our socks off! And to think, the locals can see them perform just about every Monday night! Please do yourself a favor and make sure your trip to NOLA includes Monday night and go see this show. You won't regret it! Pro Tip: Get there ~15 minutes early if you'd like a seat. There are benches on the sides of the venue but other than that it's standing room only.

Walking down the street the bouncer spoke to us and was very nice asking us to come in so we did! Very neat upper and lower level to enjoy! Bartender and all staff was very friendly too and the music was good! Lots of drink selections too! Highly recommend while in the area! Great spot, neat balcony with views, good staff and music and drinks as well! Come check it out!!!

I went to this bar on my first night in New Orleans, and it set the perfect tone for the trip. The atmosphere was lively, the music was great, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. They know how to keep the energy up while making everyone feel at home. The drinks were well-made, and the overall vibe was exactly what you’d want from a NOLA bar—fun, engaging, and full of good times. I’d highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting New Orleans. Whether you’re looking to enjoy live music or just grab a solid drink, this place won’t disappoint.

*9 October 2025* Visiting from Atlanta. A time was had! My last tequila shot did EXACTLY what I needed it to do. The DJ did his thing. I was on the dance floor enjoying myself. The bartenders were great. The place was packed, which is exactly what I was looking for. I'd totally come here again the next time I'm in NOLA. The walk just to enter the Blue Nile was entertaining; so many characters on the street.

Great club on Frenchman street! The live artist Irvin Mayfield and his band were on fire. Just so amazing and very talented. That man killed his horn set. 🙌🏽 We had a great time. Drink specials were available.
Tonya J — Google review
Getting drinks when bar first opens takes a long time (i.e. before the musical artist(s) start playing). So order 2 drinks and/or waters per person in your party the 1st time you wait in line. But otherwise not much of a line once the music gets going. Only been to this venue the one time, but the the show was top notch. Have no doubt that most of the artists that come through are of similarly high quality.
T.J. — Google review
Yah!Yah!Yah! Thank you for making my first time in Nola so fantastic. The DJ playing Afrobeats and some early 2000s dancehall had me hype and nostalgic! Shout out for the free light-up glasses as a party favor upon entering. Oh and I'm especially thankful to your staff for being so chill and not pushy or snobbidh - something that's become a norm in many party districts across the US.

Absolutely loved my waitress. Mad cool chick. So glad they had vegan options. The mushrooms were sooooo good I made a 2nd order but they were out. Vegan crab cake was ok. The grits were the bomb too. My friend said her food was good, but she was thrown off by spaghetti as the Mac n cheese. I would defly go back...actually I tried, but it was closed 😩 the hours are never what I need on places I can eat at

I hope you get to enjoy this establishment, it's off the beaten path but oh boy the trip is worth it. Authentic jazz type feel with amazing ambiance and friendly service. But the food is what made the night for me, the lamb chops paired with the sweet patato puree was esquisite then the sauce paired with the catfish was fantastic. Great flavors all around. Unfortunately, because we arrive quite late in the evening, we only caught the tail end of the live Jazz bandso will visit again to get the full experience.

This place is vibe by itself. Located off St.Claude 7th Ward Area. I love how this jazz hall takes you back in history to help show case all the great black singers and musicians who ever did it. This jazz hall also expose local talent as well. I just happened to have went on a Thursday night, which is steak night there. The food is so good and the service is royalty like. I admire how you never feel out of place there. The atmosphere is very chill yet vibrant. I highly recommend this place on a Tuesday and Thursday night. Or if there are any major events like Mardi gras, Jazz Fest and Essence festival.

As vacationers, we wanted something less touristy and a local jazz spot four our foodies. This spot was WELL WORTH the Uber from French Quarter. The food had heart and tasted like magic. The blackened catfish was perfect. We all loved the Jerk fried chicken (new item) and we had the best grits of the trip here. Bacon, cheddar & jalapeño grits --- we should have come earlier in the trip so we could have those a 2nd time.

We predominantly went for the music of Irvin Mayfield and guests for his Blackout show which was sensational but we loved everything about this place. It has a great vibe with friendly staff and the food is pretty damm good too. Our waiter Darius was friendly and helpful and kept our drink and food flowing. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place and we'll definitely be back for more.

Okay, I do not like to leave bad reviews so if I leave a 3-star review then you know my experience was just okay. So on our second day in New Orleans, we visited Sweet Lorraine's Jazz club based on the reviews that I've read about the entertainment and the food. Our show started around 9:10pm, we were seated at around 8:55. My husband and I definitely were looking forward to a good meal here based on the reviews, we we're definitely hungry when we arrived and ready to order shortly after being seated. We waited until 9:20 until a server actually acknowledged we were there. He dropped off some waters and left. Shortly after, we moved to another table because where we were sitting it was extremely cold, the air conditioning and a fan were blowing directly on our heads. In our new area, we sat for another 30 minutes until another server actually came by. I asked her about the salmon tacos, she didn't really know a lot about that, I asked her about the vegan gumbo and again she didn't know a whole lot about that either so I asked her if she can ask someone, so she left and it was another 20 minutes or so before we actually ended up ordering and waited even longer to get our food. The show was from 9:00pm until 11:00pm, we ended up getting our food at around 10:45 p.m. I ending up ordering the salmon tacos which were very delicious and a hit, just wish there were more of them, there were only three. I also ordered the vegan gumbo and unfortunately that was a miss. My husband ordered the wings and unfortunately it was a miss for him as well because he said it tasted like it was cooked in old grease. But on the brighter side we did enjoy the entertainment, but it was hard to fully get into the show when you're extremely hungry, cold and feeling neglected which is the reason for three stars. The sad part about the situation is there was another server working around our area, she clearly saw that we were just sitting there, she passed us numerous times. I even asked if she knew anything about our food and she shrugged her shoulders and kept it moving. Not once did she offer to assist our server who was working our area and was clearly overwhelmed.
D H — Google review
Great food, great space. Loved the entertainment. I was there with friends to listen to Gina Brown who was very accomodating. With that said -- the place was understaffed. You can't open at 1 and start the kitchen up at 12:55. You don't have a big menu as it is. So, I'm not sure what the problem was other than you don't understand the amount of time needed to prep. And you underestimate your staffing needs. If you don't have enough people then scale back the menu. Orrrr try paying more and offer training to people so others can be successful.

Bacchanal Fine Wine & Spirits is a charming wine and cheese store located in the trendy Bywater neighborhood of New Orleans. The venue features a lush back patio adorned with fairy lights, where patrons can enjoy live music while indulging in globally inspired small plates and an extensive selection of wines. The atmosphere is described as bohemian yet sophisticated, attracting a diverse crowd of locals and visitors alike.
Bacchanal is a truly unique experience. There are two options for dining available. Self-service outside style or inside seated. We chose to sit outside and listen to some nice, live jazz music while enjoying a couple of bottles of wine and superb appetizers. This was in May, so it was pretty “warm” 🥵but they do have several fans to keep the air moving around. Parking is difficult so I suggest getting dropped off.

Wow! We absolutely loved this place tonight. My wife and I go to dinner frequently in New Orleans. This is hands down one of the coolest experiences we have ever had. Super laid back atmosphere. No table service so you don’t have a server making you feel rushed to get out. Really nice outdoor patio with live music. The music started at 7pm tonight. It’s like a DIY at your own pace restaurant. I loved that about this place. GO. CHECK. IT. OUT!

Simply fantastic. What a great spot to enjoy amazing music, great food and a true oasis of a space. We came as a group of 8 and absolutely loved everything about this spot. Great wine, great food, great cocktails and beers. What more could you truly want. A 12/10 experience. If you come to New Orleans come here! And get the pork belly holy best pork belly I’ve had in a minute!

This feels like a place you’d see in an HBO finale where all the hot late 20s to 30 or 40 something’s meet up in the season finale to have a celebratory send-off of some kind. If like the vibes of Sideways were a restaurant. Truly unique dining experience. Food was great. Drinks were fantastic. Music was delightful. Service is top notch. Property is adorable. Will scream this recommendation from rooftops for anyone visiting NOLA. 5/5 will return at some point.

Amazing food!! It was confusing to understand their set up at first, but, they have a small place downstairs where you can buy wine and you either take it home or take it upstairs to the restaurant and have it with the food you are gonna order. In the back there is a patio with occasional live music. Seriously… amazing food!

What a magical patio. Great atmosphere, music, and people. You definitely get a community vibe as you hang out over wine and small bites. Staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. The charcuterie board was massive. Diverse offering of spirits.

Wonderful spot that I hope to get back to one day. A friend brought us there while we were visiting for a few days in New Orleans! All cities should have a spot like this. It's the best wine shop/cheese/art and music experience out there. Simple, clever, fun. Delicious charcuterie board and wonderful music.

Such a great experience, love the concept. You go pick your own cheese wine and meats from their little market and they create a charcuterie board adding olives pickles and bread bringing it to your table. Live music and beautiful outdoor space! Highly recommend!

Davenport Lounge is an elegant 3rd-floor venue located in The Ritz-Carlton on Canal Street, offering a sophisticated old-Hollywood jazz club ambiance. Guests can enjoy live performances by renowned musicians like Jeremy Davenport while sipping on signature cocktails such as the Sazerac. The lounge also provides complimentary homemade potato chips and wasabi peas, creating a luxurious experience.
Stumbled upon this incredible lounge tucked away off of the lobby. Amazing jazz band, but waited for a while for seats. Service needs help, think they were short staffed but the mgr took care of us for a while. Crab dip was incredible. Christmas decorations were stunning.

I stop by this place at 7pm to listen to the band , and it turned out to be such a beautiful experience with a glass of wine , I then ordered the crab Dip which was soooooo delicious and set everything TOGETHER omg I couldn’t stop thinking about it I also used some of the homemade chips with the dip as well , I also tried their bowl of gumbo which was full of shrimp and very tasteful . This place is a wonderful environment filled great bartenders and servers and great quality food . You would not be disappointed if you are I suggest you do a self check .

Great escape from the sights and sounds of the French Quarter and indulge in a relaxed, unrushed pace and delightful bites provided by Terriell and the Ritz-Carlton staff. Choose from a variety of regular and caffine-free teas, start with one type of tea with the savory bites, and another with the second course of sweets. For an additional $10, upgrade to the Royal tea service that includes a glass of champagne to toast on a special occasion. Each reservation is set-up on a separate table with a long couch and two chairs for a semi-private experience for you and your guests to enjoy, but also allows you to engage with near by guests if you choose. Please let your server know if there are dietary restrictions or if you are celebrating a special occasion.

The single best place for live entertainment on this side of the French Quarter. Classy & comfortable atmosphere. Jeremy Davenport & his band provide extraordinary performances five evenings per week and won’t disappoint. Located inside the Ritz Carlton Hotel on Canal St. I spent my whole weekend enjoying this venue v/s conquering the chaos on Bourbon (which didn’t appear to have any jazz clubs from what I can tell). Davenport Lounge for the win!!

If you've enjoyed other Ritz-Carlton afternoon teas, prepare to be disappointed by this one. The staff, while friendly, were indifferent, and the service was painfully slow, even for afternoon tea. We waited an absurd 1.5 hours for the scone and dessert course and had to remind the staff, who seemed surprised by our request. The presentation was subpar, with a teapot that looked like it had wet toilet paper sticking out, which was actually the tea bag. None of the food items met expectations, though the tea and live harp music were the only highlights. Overall, this experience was a letdown, and I recommend seeking afternoon tea elsewhere.

Fantastic lounge for jazz and live music. We went for the afternoon high tea, which is a total treat. Definitely put this on your list. Shout out to Terriell our wonderful server, she went out of her way for us today!

While the Davenport Lounge at the Ritz-Carlton New Orleans serves drinks, snacks, breakfast and hosts jazz music on certain days, our personal favorite is “afternoon tea.” Reservations are required and they are currently only doing it on Saturdays, but this is one of our favorite things to do in New Orleans. Even if we aren’t staying at the Ritz, we still make sure to find time to enjoy this awesome 3 course treat consisting of savories, scones, and desserts. Also, there are several dozen teas to choose from and everyone we have tried has been amazing! This is just a great experience with great tastes in the plush and beautiful Davenport Lounge. We should also mention that the service has always been outstanding as well.

Got here at 9:25 Thursday night before the Super Bowl in N.O. and the band stopped at 9:30. No music after that, odd. The band leader and other band members appeared to have a very bad relationship from what I could see. Sad, a great opportunity for good jazz music, a.great crowd was present, very sad.

The Jazz Playhouse is an elegant and retro jazz lounge located within the Royal Sonesta Hotel in the French Quarter. It offers a sophisticated setting with no cover charge, featuring local jazz talent every night of the week.
If you love jazz and intimate settings, then The Jazz Playhouse is where you need to be, and soon! We brought a group of travel advisors to the Playhouse for an evening to listen to Richard 'Piano' Scott and his band. They were excellent, they took requests from the audience, and the vibe and feel and mood of the place was fun. In addition, everyone ordered off the menu. Although most of the food items come across as appetizers, they do serve a decent amount of food. Of note are the fried alligator, chicken and waffles, and wedge salad. Good food! The ambiance of the Playhouse also makes it feel very special. It's not a large place, but it is insulated from the outside noise of Bourbon Street. It's also important to note that the Playhouse is inside the Royal Sonesta Hotel. We look forward to a return visit as we just fell in love with the place. Keep up the great work!

Made a stop in New Orleans on our way to Mississippi just to watch the Burlesque show and had a fantastic time. The room was intimate, and the service was great. We enjoyed the chicken and sausage gumbo, chicken and waffles, a Paloma and coffee martini. Everything was beautifully platted and tasted delicious. Even better than the food was the Trixie Minx Burlesque show. The singer was great and the dancers were everything we expected and more. Definitely worth seeing again.

We didn’t eat here but came after dinner to enjoy some Jazz at 7:30pm - must have advanced tickets and it was PACKED and for good reason. Drinks are boozy but good and the Jazz is amazing. Definitely worth it while in New Orleans. Casino Royale tastes like a STRONG martini, just FYI. Took one star away after staying for 2nd half. I’m sure it depends on who you see (as it seems it depends on the night) but the rest wasn’t jazz.. it was mostly hip hop, which we as young adults like, but our older colleagues were confused bc of the advertised venue and left early. If it’s a “jazz club” better to stick to the classics.

She included "my favorite things" which for me i think of as a classic rap song with thefast rhytmix vical pacing She wrappwd her vocals around "over the rainbow" and climbed it and rode it to the pot of gold at the end. he atmospheres of the club was good but i think a little background noise should have been diminished. When you visit Nawlins, check this place out!

We had a great time at this jazz club! The band was outstanding, especially the sax player and the young drummer. Nayo Jones has an amazing voice and did a great job at engaging the audience. It was interesting to hear some Broadway show tunes flipped into jazz. The only drawback was an overly intrusive wait staff. In a jazz club, I expect that wait staff to be "invisible" so as not to detract from the music. There was one young waiter who thought he needed to perform his tasks "with flair" instead of being as unobtrusive as possible. There was a nice selection of wine, beer, and cocktails. Food was available.

Amazing! Nayo Jones was phenomenal, her band was so talented and it was the experience you really want in New Orleans! We were so lucky to have happened upon the club during our trip here. It was so warm, service was top notch. We will recommend this place to anyone we know headed to NOLA.

Maison Bourbon sounds like a brand of jam you’d find in a Carrefour 45 minutes outside of Paris. But it is not. It is a jazz bar in New Orleans. The band that was playing here was good, but the singer definitely seemed like he was on some substances when he wasn’t (incredibly competently) playing the saxophone. The beers were a reasonable price, it wasn’t too busy and there was plenty of room to dance. Overall a fun experience.

When we decided to have our destination wedding in New Orleans, we knew we wanted something on Bourbon to give our guests the true party experience. When we met with Jeanne and the team at Maison Bourbon (Vieux Carre Venues), we were so excited about the possibilities! The venue has a balcony facing the best and most lively intersection of Bourbon St. and is such a gorgeous space. We rented both rooms - one above Maison Bourbon which is adjoined with the one above MyBar@365. We had our wedding catered and our guests are still raving about the selection of food. We highly recommend the brisket and the oysters! There was so much comfortable seating and they allowed us bring in our own beads to toss from the balcony. There were clean restrooms, two full bars, and the ambiance was spectacular! We are so thankful to get to work with Jeanne as our coordinator - she is truly the sweetest and most patient person! We had so many questions along the way and their team never hesitated to get right back to us with details. Don't sleep on this venue! It's affordable and truly worth the experience!

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The customer service was absolutely terrible, and I have never been treated so disrespectfully in my life. A group of friends and I entered the bar and all of us showed our IDs to one of the bartenders upon arrival. My friends ordered their drinks, and I decided to wait until later. After enjoying the music for a while, I went up to the bar to order a soda. The bald bartender asked for my ID again, and I politely explained that I had already shown it to his colleague. Still, I went back to my table to retrieve it and returned to the bar. By that time, the bald bartender was busy serving others, and while waiting for him, another bartender took my order and handed me the soda without issue. A few minutes later, the bald bartender stormed over to our table, yelling at me to leave. He was shouting so aggressively that everyone around looked confused. I tried to explain the situation, but he just kept yelling over me. I was kicked out of the bar having done absolutely nothing wrong. After reading other reviews, it seems this isn’t the first time customers have been treated poorly by the same employee. No one deserves to be treated with that level of hostility or disrespect. I would never recommend this bar to anyone.

A perfect distillation of New Orleans. A great hang with great music (no cover) and great but easygoing hospitality. I'm not even a big cigar smoker but love hanging out late night here in the side yard and occasionally popping inside to see whoever's playing. If you get an outdoor seat near the door you can also enjoy the music without having to get up. You will probably have a few more beverages than you anticipated and then want to buy some Two Jeffs merch even though the only size they have remaining is not your size.

Amazing place live jazz amazing vibe only bad thing not the best ventilated area so if your with people that don't smoke cigars or are not use to cigar bars they might get nauseous... Other then that has amazing time had an amazing Opus X No.2 and it paired with a macallan 12 year old scotch! Love this place! If you love cigar bars and live jazz music this is the place for you! Seems like a nice old school neighborhood bar that serves alcohol and cigars. You can smoke cigars or cigarettes which is nice for smokers. The upper pool table area has a separate bar and pment of plush seating around the table so you can comfortably what the pool table action as you have a smoke and a drink. Cigar selection is limited and pricy so if you are picky about your cigars then bring your own.

This is really a nice place to listen to good jazz music and get a bit traditional New Orleans food and drink a beer. Maison and Dirty Dozen Brass Band After spending the morning and afternoon at the 2025 New Orleans Jazz festival I headed back to my hotel to rest for a bit before seeing the Dirty Dozen Brass Band, for a 10 p.m. show at Maison. Located in the heart of Frenchmen (508 Frenchmen St.), I stopped by early to learn doors would open at 9:30 p.m., giving me enough time to cross the street for crawfish étouffée at Frenchmen All Day (630 Frenchmen Street). I had wisely paid for access to the balcony ($40 + $10 handling) and because I was first in line at 9:30 I was able to secure a small high-top table not far from the upstairs bar but with a view of the front of the stage. (I think general admission $25, was for standing room only.) The band was amazing! Rich, colorful sound, nicely blended by a group that clearly knew each other’s styles. It reminded me of some of the scenes from HBO’s series “Tremé” – the venue itself appears a couple of times in the series (which aired for four seasons starting in 2011 and currently is available through Amazon Prime Video). The Dirty Dozen Brass Band’s performance captured the swing and feeling of the French Market music scene. Not sure why the balcony lacked a video screen – much of the upstairs seating had great acoustics but no sight line of the stage itself. Drink prices were reasonable given the high quality of the venue, and the bartended was personable and helpful – and there was never more than a five-minute wait to get served. My only concern (and it’s not even a complaint) was the repeated appearance of iPad Man, who presumably had been responsible for the band’s sound engineering. He apparently needed to make many trips during the show to adjust sound values, and while the band didn’t need to stop while these changes were made, his presence at center stage was distracting. Maybe there’s a reason why traditional sound boards served their purpose so well for so many years. Whatever software was being used to run the sound quality, its user needs to up his game and get the job done before the show starts. I came to Maison hoping to experience the vibe that “Tremé” spoke to and was richly rewarded with an outstanding night in New Orleans.

I had a phenomenal time here! I came early in the afternoon around 2ish? The band playing was amazing. The staff were friendly, and quick with service! You need to order at least one drink. I really enjoyed the band playing and purchased their vinyl. Will definitely come back here on my next visit.

Go! You can reading For those who like to read well then here is my one night take on Favela Chic. The atmosphere is exactly what you came to New Orleans for in the first place. Get off of Bourbon Street and head to Frenchman’s Street we were told by the locals and they were right. Better music, feel, and food at least in our experience. The music was provided by Skinny Tuba this night and they were so good. Way better than the top 40 style music we experienced on Bourbon Street. The food was really good especially the fries. Only complaint I have is that there is an automatic 20% tip PRE included and then they still ask for a tip. Be careful or you will end up tipping closer to 40% without knowing it. See the image of the receipt.

I wanted to reserve VIP seating which you pay for based on the number of people in your party but I had questions as it was $250 for a table up to 6 people. I called and sent texts as instructed on the website but could not get a response. I decided to take a chance and reserve it anyway. Huge mistake. It was advertised as by the stage close to the band with VIP seating starting at 10. Well...long story short when the lady seated me she asked me if "they" told me there would be a DJ at 11? I was livid as I had paid online and was stuck without being able to get a refund. The band stopped at 11 promptly then it was a DJ. We actually didn't need to reserve seats at all as after 11 it was a ghost town with no band. I should have gone with my gut and based on the lack of responsiveness not have thrown my money away. Oh yes..it is important to note that I started trying to get in touch with them a month ahead of time. So many other places on Frenchmen street to go to. Skip this one. Only good note is our waitress was nice.

Band was good. No cover but there was a 1 drink minimum per set. We went on a slow time, a Monday evening around 7pm

Best jazz bar/restaurant on Frenchmen St! It has no cover charge, no minimum drink order, no minimum age, and no service fees. The jazz music played sounded amazing, but was not so loud to overwhelm. We still enjoyed conversation while the music played. We brought our kids and had a nice family jazz music night. The food menu is limited, but most people come here for drinks and music. It’s a great place.

We rented The Mezzanine package for our wedding reception dinner, and it was everything we could have hoped for and more! The buffet-style dinner was absolutely delicious, with the roast beef stealing the show. Our bartenders were so friendly and mixed up the most amazing drinks. The Mezzanine itself was the perfect setting, close enough to enjoy the live band while still being able to chat and celebrate with our guests. Thank you to the entire team for helping make our wedding night truly perfect!

The Palm Court Jazz Cafe, located on Decatur Street in the heart of New Orleans' French Quarter, is a sophisticated and vibrant spot that offers classic jazz performances and authentic Creole cuisine. Housed in a historical French Market warehouse, this venue provides an intimate and inviting atmosphere for guests to enjoy live jazz music while savoring traditional Creole dishes.
What a GREAT experience. We came in the night before to get a table, and it was PACKED. Unfortunately we couldn’t get a table, but they made sure to make a reservation for us for the next day. So MAKE SURE YOU RESERVE A TABLE. Otherwise you won’t get in. The food was amazing, and our server was so friendly and great! The whole evening there was live jazz. They were 6 people playing the whole night, and ended up playing with guys from Sweden and Germany was well, because of the French Quarter Festival. There is a $10 fee per person for the music, but worth every penny. 10/10. I would recommend this to anyone visiting New Orleans

The music and singing was nice. The jazz live performance is a great element. The food was ok nothing impressive, the caprese salad was shockingly disappointing. The service was good. Not a place that I would go to again.

Had the best time with my Mom! Tonight they had 7 of the best Jazz musicians in The French Quarter on stage. I did the math and they had over 455 years of talent on stage. We will definitely be back for the wonderful food and music! Was very nice to meet Richard on Bass.

This experience was the best I had in New Orleans. The atmosphere and aesthetic was relaxing and amazing. The best food we had on our entire trip. The music was phenomenal along with the wait staff. If you’re looking for a Resturant with live music for the whole family highly recommend. This is great for the feel of New Orleans jazz music and food. If I could give it more stars I would. I will be sure to let anyone I know that comes to New Orleans to come this place.

Kermit's Tremé Mother-in-Law Lounge is a vibrant and historic bar and lounge located in the heart of the Tremé neighborhood in New Orleans. Originally founded by musician Ernie K-Doe, the lounge is known for its funky and colorful setting. In 2014, local musician Kermit Ruffins took over ownership, infusing the venue with his own flair.
Awesome music, laid back atmosphere. Kermit cooks red beans and rice and feeds you- included with the cover charge!

When you visit New Orleans, and you will because it’s the land of dreamy dreams, going to Kermit Ruffins’ is a must. Intimate venue where the host actually feeds you as part of the cost. Great food, amazing music. Kermit is an international music legend and you get to see true musicians play feet from you. Do not pass on this opportunity.
The S — Google review
Kermit’s Treme Mother-In-Law Lounge is more than a bar— it’s a breathing tribute to New Orleans soul. Tucked in the heart of the 7th Ward, this spot pulses with music, memory, and magic. Owned by jazz legend Kermit Ruffins, it’s where brass bands light up the backyard stage and solo piano sets turn happy hour into a whole celebration. The drinks are dive-bar honest, the food is full of flavor when Kermit cooks, and the vibe? A party (in the words of Kermit, “We Partyin’) always a homecoming. It is truly a place that honors the legends while making space for new ones. It’s New Orleans, unfiltered. Kermit plays Mondays and Saturdays at 06PM!
Harmonese P — Google review
Forget everything you know about quiet, sit-down venues, because a night at Kermit's Treme Mother-in-Law Lounge is a full-on, joyous immersion into the soul of New Orleans. Stepping inside this vibrant, historic club feels less like visiting a bar and more like crashing a family reunion—if your family were all master musicians with a knack for grilling up incredible barbecue. The vibe here is pure, unfiltered fun. The air buzzes with energy, fueled by the infectious rhythm of live jazz that spills out from the intimate stage. The true highlight, of course, is the music. The sense of community and musical legacy here is awesome. This spirit is a big reason why musicians like Irvin Mayfield Jr. are so essential to the city's jazz scene, carrying the torch and celebrating the very culture that makes venues like this so special. Kermit's is the kind of place that captures the essence of New Orleans—unpretentious, soulful, and full of life. It’s a place to come as you are, eat some good food, and let the music move you. For an authentic, unforgettable night out in the Treme, there's nowhere else quite like it.
JK E — Google review
We didn't eat, only had a drink, the place isn't fancy but it's full of personality and in Louisiana's true fashion everyone is welcomed and made to feel at home!!! We were visiting from Texas and it was across from the Air BnB, it's a historic, neighborhood bar full of old school charm, I loved it!!!
Gail P — Google review
Go get your fill of some serious local music, get there early for the Tuesday 6 PM show it's the one that will least likely have a line if you get there 15 minutes early. $20 gets you in, cash or card. Its mostly stand only with perhaps a dozen chairs in the small tight quarters. Kermit is a very active participant in his bar, so do not be surprised if he's chatting it up with you at the bar or suddenly, you feel a trumpet in your ear and he's going into town, playing it with so much passion. The guys all have such a great banter with each other. It is amazing, amusing and delightful to watch. SO much talent on this stage. The drinks are very moderately priced, they do not give you cups of waters so be prepared to pay for bottled water. There's food on the menu and as Irvin Mayfield says Kermit declares himself a chef 1st and a musician 2nd, so if you're lucky enough ask for what they're serving on the menu it could be his proclaimed raccoon gumbo.
Monserrat A — Google review
Seems like a cool place. A little slow when we were there on a Sunday afternoon. Wishing we'd been able to stick around for another night to see Kermit play. Kitchen was unexpected treat for kind of a historic but divey spot.
Iggy N — Google review
Profoundly disappointed. I've been a Kermit fan for nearly a decade, so I came here for the first time on a Tuesday to hear some live music. I arrived at 5:45 p.m. and the lady at the door must have taken me for a mark. She said the cover charge was $20. All the reviews say the cover charge, when there is one, tops out at $10. I guess she was trying to scam me. I still love his music, I just don't like getting hustled.

Incredibly entertaining and classic spot to enjoy live jazz and sip on a perfectly crafted Old Fashioned. As a fun bonus, the set ends with a little burlesque surprise! Highly recommended. 5 stars!!!

We were in NOLA for a conference and the last thing we wanted to do after we arrived and grabbed some lunch nearby the New Orleans Marriott was to drag ourselves to Bourbon St or Frenchman St for live music. So as we headed back to the hotel, we noticed the Mahogany Jazz Hall located immediately across the street from the Marriott's port cochere. And so we ducked inside as the sandwich board out front advertised live music all day and night and we heard great music wafting from inside. We stepped inside to a fairly empty bar with a tiny stage sporting a jazz trio. The lead singer was playing the trumpet, tambourine, and then also jumped on the drums. There was a pianist and a bassist. They were fantastic. And to have live music right outside the hotel, truly just steps away was the perfect way to let the conference days melt away while enjoying a drink and listening to great live music. So we ordered a couple drinks and settled in for a couple hours of local live music. And we were not disappointed. They were just local guys who enjoy playing with whomever is there. It was great. So great, in fact, that we came back almost nightly for the ten days we were there. W Forget the touristy Bourbon Street or the newly recent tourist spots on Frenchman Street (this street was mostly locals until within the last year or two), go to Mahogany Jazz Hall instead and enjoy great jazz and good drinks.

One of the best places I've been in NOLA. Beautiful music, full house on a Tuesday night - standing room only. Get there 7:30 for a seat. The band came and mingled on their breaks. Would go again and again.

This place is one of the most unique, coziest experiences I’ve had. I spent my whole night here and Garland was the best bartender I’ve ever met! The kind that always had my water refilled and I’m fairly certain covered my drink when I went to the bathroom as I was a single woman on my own in here. I asked once for whatever gin cocktail he wanted to make and it was the best drink I had that night. The band was absolutely fantastic, and the atmosphere only got better as the night went on. If there’s one thing you visit in New Orleans, I’d say it has to be here!
Indraja C — Google review
Went in there a couple of years ago. It was crowded but a great experience. Went in here after hearing music from the street. jazz is my weakness, so we went in and as crowded as it was, found a seat at the bar. The staff were attentive and nice. Even talked to us about where we were from. The drinks were great. I kept it simple. See videos and photos for more. We took home a T-shirt and a mug as a souvenir.

Given the current situation in New Orleans I thought its people and places deserve some positivity. Mahogany Jazz Hall was incredible. Visited last week and you really feel the essence of the city and its people there. The sounds of Jazz bounce off of every wall. The band was excellent and engaging. But the true star for us and who made our night was our bartender/mixologist Garland. His recommendations/actual cocktails were top tier, our glasses were never dry and his vibes were immaculate. The staff did an excellent job of directing traffic so there was never obstructed views of the band. Highly recommend this place and will definitely go back my next time in New Orleans. Prayers with you all.

The best live music club in New Orleans. Beautiful, intimate setting. The owner, Kate, has decades of experience running a nightclub and it shows. It’s warm, welcoming and away from the craziness of Bourbon Street. A real bonus if Tom Fischer is performing. It’s now a must stop when you’re in New Orleans.

This unassuming restaurant, bar, and live music venue on Frenchmen is a wonderful example of what NOLA has to offer. Fun drinks, inspiring music to listen and dance to, and incredibly good food albeit from a limited menu. We love the red beans and rice as well as the gumbo. Walking past and hearing the live music I side, I had to go in. I wasn't disappointed. Smiling, happy staff met me at the door and made sure I was seated and comfortable. The music performance was top notch, Comforting and added some extra grace to a charming establishment. I learned after I had left that the food is very highly rated and makes the Three Muses worthy of a return visit, but when without the food, I already planned to go back. After visiting all of the music venues on Frenchman Street, The Three Muses is certainly the best. A little bit of real magic in a forest of hocus pocus. Thanks folks. Your smiles made my day.

From start to finish, they were amazing every step of the way: the sales manager Olivia was so thoughtful about our needs and goals, working with our budget and offering so many great ideas to make it a memorable celebration. The logistics manager Jeffrey worked closely with our conference manager to map out the floor plan and give us direction as we had over 1,000 people in attendance. Arnaud's New Orleans is a classic upscale restaurant and lounge that has been serving Creole cuisine, cocktails, and Dixieland jazz since 1918. Located in the French Quarter, it is one of the oldest and most historic restaurants in the city. The restaurant offers an extensive three-course prix-fixe jazz brunch on Sundays, featuring flamed tableside dishes like Bananas Foster and Crepes Suzette.
Great, old school experience. Varied and excellent menu, decent wine list. Service is impeccable. Lounge has a live band that serenades each table. Great cocktail options. Be warned that there is a surcharge for the musicians but it’s a wonderful experience all around. Gumbo is some of the best in the world. Frog legs amazing. Love to go back.

From the French 75 bar room (formerly the Grill Room) with its safari and tropical motif, the cocktails are courtesy of experienced mixologists. Erik was an attentive server, and knowledgeable about the offerings. For Dinner, we moved to the main dining room. The service was provided by particularly caring staff, expressive in their descriptions of dishes, listening to taste options while enticing guests toward specialty dishes. The turtle soup was spectacular. The Pompano, offered several different ways, were wonderful options. Wine through to dessert were enjoyable, as well.

The steaks and service was amazing. It is a high end restaurant with a decent selection of foods period one of the issues we had.You can see circled in one of the pictures was that the fish dish had this piece of what looked like a staple attached to it or something.I'm not sure what it was, but it was definitely not a part of the fish or it didn't belong there. They did offer to replace the fish dish. But it was towards the middle. So everyone else was already done. Eating by the time it was found. And it was taking off the bill, but I feel like being a party of 6 with a $600 bill. It should have been a little bit more of something done besides just taking a meal off that wasn't eaten . The banana foster's was a nice presentation, but by the time it was served to me.The ice cream was all melted and it was more like vanilla milkshake, with pieces of banana. The Tres leches cake was very dry it was nothing like i've ever had before and I'm hispanic so I know a hood tres leches. I was not a huge fan of it.

Just had a fabulous dinner. Food, service, everything was 5 stars. Our server, Jasper, was amazing. Attentive, entertaining, all around great guy. The food was incredible- I only wish I had two stomachs. The oysters on the half shell and the baked variety were both excellent. The shrimp bisque was amazing- just wish it was served in a bread bowl of their delicious homemade bread. The duck with blueberry sauce was great combo of flavors and the duck was cooked perfectly. I also tried the filet (excellent) and the lightly fried fish with a flavorful brown gravy. Bananas foster for dessert was the perfect ending .

Great historic place. Food was good. The band played well. They walked to each table and played for them. I am not a fan of this. It feels creepy when they stand there while I'm trying to eat. Our appetizers were not great, but the meal was perfect. The fish were prepared perfectly and flavorful. Everything was reasonably priced. The room was loud, even when the band wasn't playing. Overall, it is worth going and experiencing.

Words cannot express how amazing our experience was at Arnaud’s!!! The crew there really went out of their way to make our time special and I would HIGHLY recommend them for a celebration. We went on May 25th for the Sunday jazz brunch, in case of a long wait we called and made a reservation ahead of time. It was for my bachelorette so my friends told the crew about it, the host and our waiter Aaron were incredibly nice and attentive the whole time, and every server did their best to explain the dishes and gave us recommendations for jazz clubs. The food was incredible, but the jazz band was just FANTASTIC!! They take ur request at the table, and after learning it was for my bachelorette and how much both my fiancé and I love jazz, they performed an extra song for me! Near the end of our brunch we were approached by the private host Justin and he offered to show us the museum upstairs (the museum itself is open to public but not greatly advertised). I won’t go into the details but they made a girl feel EXTREMELY SPECIAL and I would describe it as a once in a lifetime type of experience! 100/10 recommend Arnaud’s, will definitely be back next time we visit NOLA!!!

This was the first upscale dining experience in New Orleans for my fiance' and I, and it was everything we hoped for. Our service team of Justin, Sudeep, and Captain Sara were superb. Attentive but not smothering. Never too far and always available if needed. The perfect shining example of white glove service (without the actual white gloves). Now on to the food. In a word... perfection. We started by sharing the Chicken and Andouille Gumbo and it was fantastic. The perfect blend of spice and flavor. Everything we were looking for in a traditional gumbo. A wonderful start to the meal. For our entrees, after some wonderful discussion and guidance from Sara, my fiance had the Pompano David (a skin-on fish dish) and I had the Meuniere (a traditional French fish dish with a brown butter sauce). Both were exquisite and anyone who knows me and my love for a good steak should know that I ate every last bite of that fish. It was soooooo good! Amber loved hers as well. Oh, I almost forgot! As a side, we shared the souffle potatos. Ill just say.... we should have gotten our own orders. And you need to get them as well. Trust me! Desert followed of course and we shared a Chocolate Tahini Caramel Doberge as well as a personal Baked Alaska. The presentation of both was top notch but the flavors... another home run. Go here. Dont question it, make your reservation and enjoy the experience. You will be glad you did.

The New Orleans Jazz Market, founded by renowned musician Irvin Mayfield, is a vibrant hub for jazz enthusiasts. This performing arts center features a spacious stage and ample seating, offering live jazz performances and an archive to celebrate the legacy of jazz. The venue also houses a modern cocktail bar for guests to enjoy before or during shows. Once a department store, it has been transformed into a community center for jazz lovers, complete with a music hall, bar, and event spaces.
We went to see Bob James here- Oct 2- we had a blast, fabulous time, crowd was awesome, valet parking , soft opening- still getting opinions from patrons on what to offer- they said appetizers coming- need a bigger drink menu- maybe frozen drinks- bartenders awesome and willing to please, staff awesome and attentive, we sat at table but I don’t think there is a bad seat in the house, beautifully decorated, security out front as u exit, we took uber from Hilton hotel parking. I will return. You won’t be sorry if u patronize this venue

The Orleans Jazz and Blues Market is an amazing venue! The atmosphere, lighting, and sound system is perfect for a jazz and blues club. Every seat is a good seat with good visibility and audio. Super easy entry and exit. AND, they have some of the BEST acts lined up! Fantastic venue, highly recommended!

Excellent venue for jazz and blues. Great acoustics. Great service. I just wish they served food. Unfortunately, no food, just drinks. Not even snacks. Still 5 stars! Will go again.

I don’t know who recommended bringing Smooth Jazz to the Jazz Market but I want to give them a “Big Hug”! Like really. The atmosphere is off the chain. No seat is a bad seat! Most of the time you would have to travel to see someone nice but to bring these great artists to New Orleans is off the chain! So far I have seen Stanley Jordan and Norman Brown. Two excellent artists!! I am very much looking forward to the next concert. Keep it coming coming Jazz Market!! I’m in Seven Heaven right now ❤️
Kim A — Google review
Bought tickets to 6 shows. So far 3 cancelled and 1 (with low sales) postponed to April when it will be cancelled. So 2 to go that don't look particularly promising. I guess it's not the venue's fault that NO just isn't the great music town it likes to think it is.
Gerard G — Google review
Recently attended the 7pm Norman Brown concert on November 1. Wanted to give feedback on the sound mix. Started off terrible. It appeared that they didn’t do a sound check prior to the concert. Couldn’t hear the singers clearly. Drums, bass, keyboards and lead guitar were not balanced. It did improve somewhat as the concert progressed. Norman and the band were dealt a bad hand because of amateur sound mixing. As you can imagine, many who were there have attended concerts with sound mixing that was light years better. Both the audience and the band were robbed of what could have been a much better performance.

Nestled beneath Adolfo's, the Apple Barrel Bar is a cozy and intimate spot on Frenchmen Street known for its nightly live music and quirky decor adorned with dollar bills. Upstairs from the bar is the popular Adolfo's restaurant, offering delectable Italian and seafood dishes at its 11 tables. The bar itself may be small, but it boasts excellent drinks and impressive performances. It's recommended to bring cash for both drinks and tipping the performers during their shows.
Great staff here, I love the stained glass looking sign out front. It really drew us in! Everyone was so friendly here too! They had an incredible musician playing here and the drink choices were great! If I was a local this would be a frequent for me! I loved it here, neat bar and scene

FIRST BAR WE HIT IN NOLA! And honestly couldn’t be happier. If this is what’s to come, I’m super stoked about our trip. We got decent priced drinks in a bar atmosphere that is our absolute FAVORITE and we got to check out Smoky Greenwell band. Awesome jazz band that hit on the harmonica! Love this spot and will DEFINITELY be back.

We love this tiny little bar in the Marigny. Many locals know it as the bar under Adolfo’s Restaurant but the Apple Barrel Bar is plenty strong enough to stand on its on. Very good local live entertainment, good drinks and super friendly bar personnel make this tiny bar a destination for us. We think if you stop in for a drink, listen to some music you may feel the same. Nothing fancy just a cool little New Orleans bar.

New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park is a dedicated space celebrating the history and art of jazz. The park offers free daytime concerts with informative talks by park rangers, providing insights into the musical elements that influenced jazz. Visitors can enjoy performances by Ranger Bruce Barnes and his band, Sunpie & the Louisiana Sunspots, showcasing African diaspora music. Free walking tours narrated with audio guides take visitors to significant sites like Congo Square in Armstrong Park and statues of jazz legends Louis Armstrong and Sidney Bechet.
The Baseline: For a national park/monument visitor’s center the facility must be informative, have great exhibits, and have a park rangers that are knowledgeable of one of the United States’ greatest ideas ever implemented that is the National Parks of America. Facility: The New Orleans Jazz/Jean Lafitte French Quarter Visitors Center is a clean, well presented center with great displays and a well organized gift store. Personnel: The park rangers were friendly and informative about the activities in the park. We were given several suggestions of visiting the preserve and the local battlefield as well as information on those locations. The rangers have to be public relations and gift shop customer service at the same time so be kind to your National Park Ranger. They also run programs to educate on the parks and monuments. Stamps: You can get your passport stamps next to the gift shop and Ranger’s info station. Special note: If you have young kids or want to be a kid yourself make sure to take advantage of the Junior Rangers program. You will learn and enjoy the National Park more that way.

New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park - A Great Introduction to the City's Musical Heart! I thought the New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park was a fantastic starting point for visitors wanting to experience the city's legendary jazz scene. They offer free jazz performances, which I think is a wonderful way to get a taste of this amazing music. In addition to the music, they also have a small display that you can take a look at to learn a bit about the history of jazz in New Orleans. Established in 1994, the park aims to celebrate the origins and evolution of jazz. Located in the Tremé neighborhood, near the French Quarter, it serves as a place to learn about and experience this unique American art form. With its visitor center offering exhibits, ranger programs, and those great live music performances, it's a worthwhile stop for anyone interested in the cultural heritage of New Orleans.

Who knew we have a wonderful national park dedicated to Jazz. This is the only NP dedicated to music and all rangers are musicians. They do an excellent job of education on Jazz to the public. There is an active schedule of programs. We happened to see Richard "Piano" Scott spend an hour talking and demonstrating the differences in types of music. He was a crowd please and we all learned something. Make sure you check their event calendar.

If you have a National Parks passport, come here to get your stamp and then explore all the fascinating exhibits explaining the history, cuisine, and music of Louisiana. There is a significant audio component to many of the exhibits, which I enjoyed. They do also offer FREE live music performances every day, just ask what the day’s schedule is.

If you go when David Boeddinghaus is playing, you are in for quite an experience. His piano skills are one-of-kind. I feel he "voices" a piano, like a singer. Drinks and service are also great. Menu is creative. The ambience in the room has a nostalgic feel. Great experience.

The Polo Club Lounge is a very nice place to enjoy a cocktail or a glass of wine in a quiet comfortable setting. Definitely an upper class environment. The service can be slow and a bit indifferent at times, but always polite. Seating is also a bit limited unless you arrive early. Overall worth a visit.

So, the Polo Club. No place quite like it, certainly not in NOLA. It’s a Lounge, not a bar. Don’t forget that. First, you sink into an oh so comfy chair or sofa. Second, cold water and a trio of snacks arrive. House made pork rinds included. On a silver server, WTH? I know. Go with it. You’ll be glad you did. A liquor list a mile long. Hand crafted cocktails. Have an favorite, like a grasshopper. They deliver, with a smile. Bar snacks? Certainly not...the menu goes all the way from caviar to deviled eggs. My favorite. The Charcuterie Board. Beautifully sourced and plated. Need something off menu. Ask, they’ll move heaven and earth. It’s in the Windsor Court, just this side of heaven.

The Polo Club Lounge is such a special place to have a drink in New Orleans. Located inside of the Windsor Court Hotel this establishment oozes class. It reminded me so much of the beloved 21 club in New York. This luxurious spa is located inside a swanky hotel in New Orleans, and the service is exceptional. The rooms look amazing and it's easy to see that no expense was spared in creating the perfect environment for relaxing.
I’ve always dreamed of coming to a Ritz Carlton Spa and it was everything I expected plus more! The art, the ambience, the great customer service was all top tier. The massage rooms are so beautiful and comforting. And my food from the Spa Cafe was delicious! Everyone really took care of me and made me feel so welcome. I came here for a conference and my wonderful sister booked us a spa day and boy oh boy was it the best spa experience! From the way the staff communicated to ensure everything flowed smoothly .. to Linda C.’s warm southern hospitality- it was like an orchestra to the service we received from Star and Isabella. It was so awesome I came back a second time and had an amazing experience with Neka and Yen. Neka was great at anticipating my needs- for example I asked for water as I had a slight cough and she came back with water PLUS peppermint tea with honey before my service started. She was so personable and professional. Yen was able to accommodate my last minute request for a service - again with unpretentious relatability. I would fly here again JUST for this experience.

Amazing experience!!! I’ve been to a bunch of spas and have had a lot of massages, but this topped the cake. My only regret is scheduling 50 minutes instead of 80 minutes. The lounge area is minimal but nicely done. The staff were great as well! I was able to book online, but it would be nice if you could select a specific Technician. Overall, I enjoyed the entire experience and can’t wait to book my next appointment!

Very high end spa with great massage therapists. The locker room is luxurious with really comfortable robes. The relaxation area could be better. Some snacks available but not a lot. The sauna and steam is nice and relaxing. They even let us keep our luggage for the day which was really kind.
Rosemed M — Google review
Let's start by saying this was 1st encounter. I've wanted to stay at the property for some time now and why not in NOLA. This was absolutely gorgeous and wonderfully fragrant every where. Check in was seemless although the generated key through the app doesn't work as promised. The room was clean however small issues did arise. Being locked out assuming the key would work on my mobile was highly inconvenient. I had to wait for security to let me in. The remote for the TV was not working correctly unless you stood or held it a certain way. The spa, Chanel was wonderful in explaining the amenities and services. The dining, Lateria was an awesome hostess and went out of her way to make us comfortable and give us everything we needed. The hottub/jacuzzi was disappointing along with the pool with non working jets. There was construction going on with saw dust and noise as I tried to relax and the inside of the jacuzzi was visibly old. Definitely needs an upgrade. The check out was easy and when I explaining the issues, I was granted free breakfast. That was very nice.

We had a really great time eating beignets in the courtyard and listen to the saxophone player who’s been playing there forever. There’s a big water fountain in the center of the courtyard and the birds were flapping around in the top bowl taking a birdbath. It was so cute. the people are really nice and the food was really good

Musical Legends Park is such a nice break from the usual chaos of Bourbon Street. It’s an open-air courtyard with live jazz, plenty of seating, and a really relaxed vibe. You can grab a coffee or a drink from Café Beignet and just enjoy the music without needing a reservation or a cover charge. The live band was fantastic—super talented and clearly having fun. It’s not too loud or too packed, so you can actually sit and have a conversation while listening. There are statues of New Orleans music legends around the space, which gives it a nice local touch.

Museum
The New Orleans Jazz Museum, housed in a historic mint dating back to 1835, offers a captivating journey through the city's rich musical legacy. The museum showcases the profound influence of jazz on New Orleans through interactive exhibits and live music performances in its courtyard and balcony. Visitors can explore an extensive collection of jazz instruments and ephemera, immersing themselves in the vibrant history of this iconic musical genre.
The New Orleans Jazz Museum is a must-visit for any music lover or cultural enthusiast. Housed in a beautifully preserved historic building in the heart of the city, the museum is as visually striking as it is rich in musical history. It does a phenomenal job of honoring the legends of jazz—both the iconic musicians who traveled to New Orleans to perform and the many greats who proudly called the city home, such as Louis Armstrong, Sidney Bechet, and Jelly Roll Morton. Inside, you'll find fascinating exhibits filled with rare instruments, vintage recordings, and immersive stories that trace the roots and evolution of jazz in one of its most important birthplaces. The vibe is lively yet reflective, a true celebration of the genre and the culture that shaped it. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, as there is only limited street parking available nearby. However, the experience is more than worth the effort. And for those who served, the museum offers a military discount—a thoughtful touch that adds to its welcoming atmosphere. Whether you're a jazz aficionado or just curious about the soul of New Orleans, this museum hits all the right notes.

Must do if you’re visiting New Orleans and interested in learning about the origins of jazz, and its deep roots in African American and New Orleans history. After visiting the museum, you could go to Congo Square and Louis Armstrong Park to immerse yourself in this iconic venue where it all began. We skipped the ground floor US Mint exhibition (the building was formerly the US Mint) and went straight to the first floor jazz exhibitions. Informative, diverse pieces including photographs, instruments and music snippets and good storytelling connecting them. Should be enhanced by numbering the sections, or marking a tour path - so visitors know where to start and which direction to go in, to follow the developments chronologically, which is confusing currently. Free jazz concerts in the courtyard at 5 pm if you’re there!
Krati T — Google review
This was an unexpected stop for us while visiting New Orleans. It was very enjoyable and we learned about the city and how banks were run back in the day. The preservation of the culture, music, and people was well presented. The bottom floor was a US mint museum and upstairs was the jazz. It also happened to be free when we visited.

Best for people who really love music, but if you do it’s wonderful. Smallish and easy to see in 1 hour or so. The Drumsville exhibit was a nice bonus. Learned quite a bit. So funky. The mint exhibit was a bit strange but still informative

We visited Jazz museum during our visit to New Orleans. It was my first time visiting the city and the French quarters. I loved it. We liked the museum too. I was not very familiar with jazz culture but I learned a lot during my visit to museum. The third floor had a stage with live performing artists. And we enjoyed that too. We visited New Orleans during the French quarters festival and defiantly would love to come again.
Madina A — Google review
Give this a miss. How can a jazz museum - in New Orleans! - have so little info about Jazz music. There are just some pictures hanging on the wall. This could be a great location for an actual museum chronicling the rich history of Jazz music but it's a big disappointment. Walk a few blocks to the east to Frenchman Street on any evening and get a taste of some actual Jazz music instead. Pictures are from Frenchman St.

Interesting visit. The first floor is the history of New Orleans mint. The second store is the jazz museum. The third floor sometimes has performances, but not every day.

Bamboula's was an unforgettable experience! The food was bursting with authentic New Orleans flavor—perfectly seasoned and soulful. The live music set the vibe just right, with energetic jazz and blues that kept the place alive. A true gem for anyone craving culture, spice, and sound!

Lovely place and great music. We came here during the day with kids and were able to sit down and listen to 2 bands. Food was great as well as cocktails.
Tatiana M — Google review
Nice restaurant and jazz club on Frenchman Street. Was nice to sit and enjoy a meal along with alive band. Service was very attentive. Portions were good prices reasonable. The salad was very fresh and flavorful. The jambalaya was good but was overly salty. I don't know whether it was intentionally salty or it was salted to increase the purchase of drinks. But anyway that was the only negative point of this experience. Very nice club just be cautious that the food might be overly salty. Especially for you people with high blood pressure.
James H — Google review
We explored the Frenchmen street and wanted to visit a bar with live music. We selected Bamboula’s as we liked a lady singing. That was the best part. The band made really good show, pretty loud. The restaurant has some options for Cajun cuisine. We selected meat gumbo and crab cake. Gumbo was nice. Crab cakes were 2 burger-like pieces of something minced and little spicy (I can’t state whether it has a crab or not). We took couple of beers, they serve only bottled ones. I can’t say that was something notorious. I would say ~70$ for 2 dishes + drinks is quite pricey. The restroom was not great. But they had soap and paper.
Sokolov A — Google review
Food, fantastic. Get oysters for sure. We got oysters almost every single day in NOLA and these were probably the best. Atmosphere and music, amazing. Especially the Halloween decorations. The service was alright. We got there before it got too busy and because we were sat in the back area I feel like we were kinda forgot about for a while. It wasn’t horrible but it was not that southern hospitality. Be warned; you can not split checks here. That was definitely a downside. But would go back for the food and music. Also, my mint julep wasn’t muddled which I found a bit strange. Muddled it myself with my straw.

Absolutely fantastic place. We saw the show or ‘Sugar and Daddies’ and it was absolutely great on Sunday night. Recommend this place absolutely Four stars because the cocktails weee not authentic. I saw the sazecar being made, it wasn’t great. I know how to make the cocktail and it wasn’t close

Burgers are good, music is great. We had to wait for our food for awhile but we came at a pretty busy time so that’s expected. Tracy was our server and she was super sweet. She had good recommendations and was very nice.

Has the best atmosphere of anywhere I've eaten in NOLA so far. The band playing was fantastic (if a little bit loud), and the food was some of the best we've had. I got the oyster begnetes while my mom got the Oyster New Orleans, and we shared the goat cheese balls. It was all fantastic. The service was a little slow, but it was very busy, and our server was kind and very friendly. 10000% would return and recommend to others.

The menu features creative hot dog experiences such as the Crawfish Etoufee Dog made with crawfish sausage and the Guinness Special with Irish Guinness sausage.
This place is AWESOME! You have got to try the alligator sausage, the Rougarou! We also had the Shrimp Rich Boy with popcorn shrimp and horseradish sauce! Flavor explosion! Staff was friendly and the place is colorfully decorated .

This was our first stop in NOLA because it was late and they were open later than most spots. I love that they had vegan options. I had the vegan banger which was good. Etouffe fries were not what I expected. A little crispier than we would’ve liked (and I actually like my fries crispy) My kids eat basic so the lil beefy was a basic hotdog perfect for them. My teenager liked her grilled chicken sandwich. My hubby liked his cheesy bacon ranch fries and rougarou and the local beer jucifer. My mom and youngest daughter said the shrimp was fried too hard so she didn’t eat her poboy. Great service from the guys working there. My family of 6 ate for about $20 a person.
Marlana C — Google review
We got the Chicago dog and the flying pig. Both were great! I thought the fries were way too crispy and oily but the partner liked them. Atmosphere is pretty cool. A few booths and a bar to sit at with lots of alcohol options. The staff is kind of just hanging around, in the way sometimes. But quick to clean up and/ or serve you.

Went here tonight after finally arriving for our honeymoon. Food was AWESOME!! It's always one of the best places to eat in the city. Plus, it's on frenchmen street. It's just the coolest spot. I took my girlfriend there for her first time yesterday and she thoroughly enjoyed it. The only slight letdown was when I asked if they had all the makings for a Paloma, and she told me no, but upon looking, they did or least a bastardized one. Grapefruit juice works just fine. Molly's at the Market is a classic pub in the heart of New Orleans, serving as a popular stop for locals and visitors alike. Since 1974, it has been a cornerstone of the city's experience, offering a laid-back atmosphere with Celtic decor. Conveniently located on lower Decatur, it serves as both a pit stop for those heading to music clubs on Frenchmen Street and a place where patrons can linger for hours.
I can summarize in one word: "FrozenIrishCoffee". It was tasty, creamy, velvety and everything else you would want when you think of what an Frozen Irish Coffee would be. Thank you; I am coming back. Ohh, great people, too! :)

If you haven't been to Molly's, you haven't truly experienced New Orleans. A true local landmark with great people watching and NOLA memorabilia throughout. And of course, the Frozen Irish Whiskey! Try doing an add of the Peanut Butter Whiskey - you can thank me later. A really friendly staff and great location.

Tucked away just beside the French Market in the heart of the French Quarter, Molly's at the Market is a small, unassuming watering hole that offers one of the best-kept secrets of New Orleans—the Frozen Irish Coffee. While Erin Rose Bar may have popularized this delightful drink, Molly's has truly perfected it. If you’re a fan of day drinking, or just need a refreshing pick-me-up during your Bourbon Street adventures, Molly's is a must-visit. Their Frozen Irish Coffee is simply unbeatable. The balance between creamy smoothness and a generous kick of alcohol is perfect. You can taste the richness of the coffee, but it’s not overpowering. The creamy texture is velvety, and you’re never left wondering if there’s enough booze in the mix—there absolutely is! To top it off, the drink is crowned with a swirl of crushed coffee beans, adding a fun, crunchy texture that contrasts beautifully with the smooth, icy beverage. It’s not just delicious; the presentation is a treat for the eyes too. Whether you're looking to kick off a day of bar-hopping or need a bit of a refresher in the middle of your Bourbon Street bar tour, this frozen concoction is the quintessential drink. Molly’s version stands out for its smooth execution and the unique twist on a classic, making it a memorable part of any New Orleans outing. Whenever I’m in town, stopping by Molly’s is a mandatory stop. The vibe is laid-back, the drinks are top-notch, and the atmosphere feels authentic to the spirit of the French Quarter. If you haven’t tried it yet, do yourself a favor and grab a frozen Irish coffee at Molly's—it’s a refreshing and indulgent way to experience a true New Orleans classic!

Exactly the type of hole in the wall place that you would miss without good word of mouth. No food, but a full bar with AMAZING DRINKS. The Irish Coffee (frozen) is like a lightly coffee-flavored vanilla milkshake. We have enjoyed it with an added shot of either cookie dough whiskey or butterscotch moonshine each time. We have felt compelled to come back every single day of our week-long trip. Worth it!

Immersed in the heart of the New Orleans experience since 1974, Molly's at the Market stands as an enduring cornerstone, drawing in a diverse crowd and becoming the preferred destination for locals reconnecting with visiting friends. strategically located on lower Decatur, Molly's serves not only as a convenient pit stop for those en route to or from the music clubs on Frenchmen Street but also as a haven where patrons happily extend their stay for hours on end. The festival takes place over two weekends and showcases both local and national talent on numerous stages.
What a wonderful place filled with art, music, and opportunities. My daughter takes music classes here and it is such a joy to hear budding artists perfecting their craft. The history of the building is also a testament to the future and life. There is art everywhere you look and each week for class, I am consumed with a free museum visit while music is playing. The staff really enjoys what they do and it shows. There are countless programs that they also participate in. We are so thankful for this top notch music experience for my little artist.

We stopped in one night of Superbowl week, was able to walk right in and be seated. It did take a while to order but they were pretty busy. I ordered the chicken kabobs. The meat was tender very flavorful, the Marinade they used was great! The sautéed veggies taste great to, it contained mostly mushrooms and broccoli. It's a popular spot for locals and visitors looking for a quieter place near Bourbon Street to enjoy some drinks. The decor and ambiance pay homage to the cult movie, making it a must-visit for fans.
Great bar in the heart of the French Square. If you love Irish Pubs, this is a classic. If you are a fan of the Boon Dock Saints Movie, this place is a plus. Bartenders were great, selection of Irish on Drafts Great. Small pub feel, and they also had one of the screens playing the movie Boon Dock Saints at the bar, which was fun. I had the Irish coffee, and it was great on a cold New Orleans day.

This is one of the best Irish Pubs in the world. Marsha is the best bartender. She made it a great experience. There’s no happy hour because all the drinks are happy hour prices 24/7. A great idea to call in for a pint & a pour or Irish Whiskey.

Parleaux gave us a great excuse to explore a part of town we wouldn't have otherwise seen, so kudos for that alone! They were short staffed the day we went, but the woman managing the counter was extremely helpful and friendly. Cozy family-oriented beer garden. I tend to prefer more experimental brews so the selection wasn't quite to my tastes, but there were some solid choices if you like more standard styles!

Somehow I've hung out on this area for years but have never come here before. Mostly because I'm not usually around this way until after they've closed, but they've been on my list for awhile. Crawfish Saturday's gave me the opportunity to make that happen. While I wasn't supposed to be drinking, it's hard not to have crawfish and not drink a beer. So I had a couple of head in the sky's, which was perfect for those fire crawfish. We found a bench in the shade and sipped and talked while we waited for our grub. It was a nice afternoon and everyone was having a good time. I'll need to come back both for the beer and the crawfish, crucial seafood was legit.

On our way out of town and didn’t want to fight to the crowds in the middle of the French Quarter but wanted to find some good craft beer. This place did not disappoint. We did 2 flights and were able to sample each beer that was offered. Ended up having a nice wine glass of the barrel aged blueberry sour and a pint of the WC Pale Ale. Great atmosphere. Nestled in the vibrant city of New Orleans, Music Box Village is a one-of-a-kind venue where live music and art come together in a unique outdoor setting. This visually stunning interactive sonic sculpture garden features a collection of ramshackle sonic art projects, with instruments embedded into the walls, floors, and ceilings for guests to experiment with. The village hosts live musical performances and encourages visitors to be part of the experience by manipulating different sounds like horns and chimes.
This place is amazing! If you have kids who like to make noise or are a kid yourself who likes to tinker, you have to check it out! Musical instruments made out of all kinds of discarded items. They host musical events but the place itself is worth the visit. Also, just below the levy so you can walk up and walk along the the levee.

The Music Box had everything we were looking for in a wedding venue! The space was fun for guests to explore, gave kids stuff to do, provided a beautiful backdrop for photos—and the connected warehouse offered a much-needed rain contingency plan. We paid extra to hire the "house band," a group of musicians that play the musical structures that dot the landscape inside. Their performance during cocktail hour really blew our guests away! The bar manager designed some specialty cocktails that were absolutely delicious. And the ability to bring in the caterer of our choice helped us make sure the experience was exactly what we wanted to share with our friends and family. The sound was incredible and literally every detail was perfect. Cannot recommend this venue enough!
Tegan J — Google review
We went as soon as they opened and it was such a peaceful place! Lots of musical stuff to explore, a vintage (more like an “old stuff only”) warehouse in the back, a bar (drinks were very meh tho), clean bathrooms. A nice place to spend a couple hours relaxing if you are lucky to go when there are no kids running around. Otherwise if you go in noisy hours it would still be a cool place to hangout with a group of friends. I did think $25 entrance fee is pricy for what it is tho.

Second time visiting, two very different but very amazing experiences. First was an open hours where you have the opportunity to wander and explore all the fun things. The second and most recent visit was during a Mother’s Day market, which was such a cool experience with all the vendors throughout the grounds. Highly recommend for any occasion.

Such a cute venue! We went for a MIT reunion and got to explore the place - it's a bit small but there are ample structures to explore for about 30 min - 1 hour and it's fun to catch up with people while climbing the treehouses. Live music was great! Downside was that some of the exhibits were broken, about 30% of them, so it felt like we only got a taste of what the place had to offer. The food was okay - I liked the breakfast buffet course they had there but it had a lot of cheese so it upset my stomach.

Fantastic place to go. Everything you touch is created to play music. Even to the railing up stairs. If you go make sure to touch everything, I guarantee you won't he disappointed. We took our three kids and they had a ball. Plus we got to see some amazing live bands as well. Such a hidden treasure and really friendly staff bringing it all together.

A friend of mine wanted to take me here after she had previously taken her cousins. My nephews tagged along and we all had an awesome time. Creative musical uses of broken and old parts of an array of items. The rustic colors and doors add something extra special to this location. I’m disappointed that I had never heard anything about it previously. Another must see spot here in New Orleans. I will definitely visit again.

This out of the way and a bit hard to find Village is worth the adventure finding it. Built by Artisans who makes small houses that are each their own musical instrument is open to the public on special days for everyone to play. Outside, they had a wonderful little artist Market with lots of unique items. Admission was free and once you go in be sure to go to the bar to get a delicious cocktail. We had two! Then roam around and play all the instruments.

Close enough to the band, dance floor, and crowd but private enough to sit, eat, and have conversations without screaming. Simple cannot compliment their staff enough! They helped unload the decorations, worked the elevator, and checked with us often to see if we needed anything. It was a great night!

Good variety of Norlens food, both slow cooked and fast food. Drink variety was good. The best part of coming here was the entertainment. The live band was terrific. There was a $5 cover charge per person for the band. They did a great job and we fronted another decent sized tip in the bucket that had upfront on stage before we left.

It is not a mystery to me why this restaurant is so well rated. From the moment I saw the food arrive, to the last bite, I was satisfied. This is also a great place to be adventurous and try the local foods you have never tried. The music was good too of course. This was the first place I tried shrimp and grits, and still am thinking about how good it was. 🥘🦞🍣

Fantastic place !! Food was amazing and very reasonably priced. Service was very good ( thank you Ben, our waiter). Go for dinner with the live music ! A true New Orleans experience. Chucky C ( Chuck Elam) and the band were fantastic and so much fun !

Overall this is very good and by hands done the best service we had in NOLA. Thank you Sara for being so prompt and attentive. The food was amazing! We had the grilled shrimp, then ribs and pulled pork. Top notch. We even tried the deviled eggs with crawfish. The first band we heard was so good and felt truly like blues. But, when the house band played and had the crowd dancing to the "oldies" it turned a little to commercial for us. Great atomsphere and great service with good food. Luck of the draw on the band.

Delicious FOOD, Eclectic atmosphere! Everything on the menu was delicious and the service was efficient. The band was awesome, a welcome rest stop with cool air and cold beer. when trudging through the French Quarter!!!

This is an Amazing place!!!! It opens until 11 which was awesome and the reason I camr in because I had work until 8 and needed a late dinner. Paid 3$ for one of the best shows of my life. Live music, the group is amazing and will kick the tiredness out of you in 5 min. The singer is the best!!! What an amazing lady 😄 everyone was dancing and having a great time on a Wednesday night! I want to move to New Orleans now! 😄 food was amazing, service too. Overall one of the best places I've been and I plan to go back when I'm back in New Orleans

Such a fun place! Its downtown New Orleans but it's a more calm and fun environment, instead of a roudy drunk crowd. The wait staff was super nice. When we arrived we didnt know we needed a reservation (our cab driver told us about this place) so when we showed up we were on the waitlist. They said 45-60 minutes. We waited almost 1.5 hours. They used open table and texted us so we were able to walk around to near by shops. The food was GREAT! I got the ribs and fried pickles. Both were amazing! Our waitress was great! The band that played was amazing ($5 cover charge) and the singers were great!
