Enjoyable meals and excellent food. All worth it. Try something different. Price is good on the pockets too. The food is very good and good for family day out. The flavours are amazing. You have to try it and see for yourself. The price is also not bad. I would recommend.

Absolutely brilliant venue, not far from the A64 road from York. The venue itself has a large stage, awesome PA system with plenty of of big fat round bottom end. I attended the Boogaloo student night hosted by DJ Becky Webb. It was awesome. She kept the place rocking till 3 in the morning playing all sorts of classic tunes from the 60's, 70's, and 80's, creating a fabulous party atmosphere. Highly recommended and will attend again, very soon.

Attended the Rival Consoles gig here last week, and honestly surprised I haven't been here before. Venue was a good size, had an excellent quality sound system and staff were all friendly. Drinks prices seemed to be reasonable and downstairs area looked to be very busy and food smelled great!

Took my team here last night to celebrate a great year. The staff were incredible. The food was heavenly. The venue, exciting, fun and expertly managed. And the drinks were beautiful. We had such a good time. Thank you so much ❤️

I recommend this place! First time being there on Saturday to be a support act for someone's gig, the vibe was good🙌 the rooftop was amazing and the overall atmosphere was great!

The hamburger is excellent but the fries regular. Good selection of beers and they usually have good music and Djs.

Such a good bar, been coming here for years. Always have amazing artists on, a great platform for smaller-med performers. Sound system is one of the better ones in Leeds. Tad expensive but so are all bars! Thanks. Can choose between a loud environment or a nice quiet one to chill and have a chat. Terrace is lovely too.

Headrow House is a nice venue for Novel Notions, a community book swap, held quarterly at Headrow House. It's a simple and appealing concept: drop off some of your own books that are surplus to requirements, and get a token per book; then come back a bit later and exchange your tokens for a selection of the wide range of books (fiction and non-fiction) also dropped off by Leeds' bookish community. Search through forgotten classics, nab a new release or find a new favourite you never knew you just had to read! Great place for a summer rooftop beer in a nice day. Lively and mixed crowd all having fun and relaxing. I had not been this year yet but glad we climbed all the stairs. Good beer too 🍻

Love this place, chilled vibes, good drink selection and off the beaten track

The bouncers are absolutely top class, I have so much love and respect for Clint and sinead, they made sure to save my twin brothers life by making sure he had fresh water and waited with him till his dad arrived I couldn’t ask for better bouncers than these two. Seriously they are one of a kind top notch people who deserve more than life could give.

Great place although it takes about 15-20mins to get your drink

Downstairs bar was shut when we came so cannot score that. Roof top bar was ok mid afternoon, mid week. Beer selection limited but what do you expect for a roof bar. We like it here even on an overcast day.

Such a great venue! It caters for everyone. You can sit, you can stand, you can see wherever you are. I was very impressed that kids were allowed in on Saturday afternoon for the Sam Ryder album launch. Can you imagine being taken to somewhere as cool as the Brudenell by your parent/s for potentially one of your first gigs?! The staff are friendly and the bar well served. I can highly recommend coming here for a gig. Get on the mailing list and you find out about what’s on - but especially the album launches! Sam Ryders voice in that room was absolutely beautiful. Such a nice intimate alternative to a big arena.

Amazing venue, two great rooms and the pies are delicious and reasonably priced. I’ve been many times now and each time it gets better with some great acts performing. I’ve seen Creed Bratton, Sophie B Hawkins, The House and Garage Music Orchestra to name a few.

Love this venue. Always a brilliant atmosphere and excellent priced drinks as a lot of students use the place. Staff always helpful and friendly. I Visit for concerts and always have a great time.

I visited Brudenell social club as dad's taxi, taking my kids to see an act there. The name suggested it would be an unlikely venue, but how wrong I was. This place is on the ball. From security, to a huge outdoor screen. Being the nominated driver I was pleasantly surprised to find them serving Pieminster pies and a decent Zero alcohol lager. Live football was being shown on the screens and the customers were a mix of locals and students. There was a great atmosphere and the staff were welcoming and professional. Disabled access, cash or card payment, limited parking dependent on event, some on street parking available.

Brilliant venue, loads of space to get served and a really reasonable priced bar. Loved it. Will return.

Great venue. Good atmosphere. Intimate. Busy. Went to see a couple of decent tribute bands with my son from Uni and really enjoyed it. Good beer prices too. Have also spoken there on stage years ago. Always pretty busy. Good drinking area outside as well. The surrounding area is a bit of an eye opener and in decline like many other places yet apart from that it’s definitely worth a visit.

This was a fabulous bar for drinking, featuring creative decorations like a clown cycling upside down and T-shirts promoting having fun! Red colouring is solid and counter is well-presented, staff were welcoming too. I was happy to be able to find Erdinger on tap at this pub, which I enjoyed at the leather seating by a smooth table!

I really liked it in here, quite basic but decent beer and great service, even got a free soft drink, I was furious with me self when I realised chrisp sandwiches were on the menu, didn't have enough time before our next stop, but I'll remember next time.

I went there to perform with Aiko and I loved the venue and the staff! We would love to come back!

It's a bar on Call Lane the number one street in Leeds for bars, it's one of the better bars on call lane, been around for over 10 years. On a Friday or Saturday evening it'll be busy.

First ever visit to "Knaves Kitchen " ..great selection of vegan dishes..delicious and great value. Warm and friendly atmosphere...will definitely be going again. The only negative is that you wouldn't know it was situated within "Oporto"..we struggled to find it. A nice bright neon sign in the window would be great 😉

£18.65 for a pint of Poretti and a large glass of Sauvignon Blanc, I thought I was in an exclusive bar for a moment. Very expensive, won’t be going back there in a hurry! Thank you for your feedback below and via e-mail and for the offer of a refund, however I think your definition of a Large Glass of wine does not align with standard weights and measures as you said you only serve 125ml and 175ml measures (175ml being your large measure and not 250ml which is the weights and measures standard). I will decline your offer of a refund but think customers should be aware.

The Knaves kitchen vegan food pop up here is amazing. Really enjoyed the food and the seating area (which is slightly separated from the main bar area) and is nice to sit in to have your food. The service was also really good. All the food packaging is compostable. The CFC wrap was the best thing we tried. Will definitely be back to try some of the other food. UPDATE - Been many times and always excellent- went in recently with my baby for food and to be fair we should have maybe gone in earlier as there was a band on but the staff were amazing they told us what time it would be getting loud and closed a door to the room with music to reduce the noise from the soundcheck so we could scoff our vegan meals without having to leave. We made sure to get out of there before the music started - I know loads of places would not have been as accommodating so shows they can also do family friendly which is great because the vegan food here is always nice and decent value.

As a disabled person who uses a wheelchair I just want to thank your staff for a great experience. Came for a gig, booked wheelchair access, had food and drinks, service was fantastic, food was delicious, staff couldn't do enough to assist us. Will definitely come to other events here.

Went here last night to see Rianne Downey, very cosy, very spacious, theres a room specially for the music, the toilets are very clean, then theres a restaurant too, as you can imagine the drinks are very expensive. There's a lot of music and comedy on here!

Went to watch a gig here so decided to have a drink and food in the bar. Service was first class and food was amazing. The atmosphere of the bar was great and felt really chilled. Highly recommend to eat here.

Had dinner here before seeing Cate Canning in the venue below and it was genuinely the best burger I’ve had! Cocktails were also brilliant. The venue was also super cute and had a great sound system. Nothing to complain about. Super convenient having a restaurant in the venue for those travelling as we didn’t have to find anywhere else so saved us a bunch of time rushing around too.

The gig tonight was good which was The Prodigy. I was shocked how short it was, like say the music was amazing but how can a venue think it’s on for 45 mins set to be done and literately band walked off straight into bar with no explanation so made most feel deflated. Like say band was good shame you didn’t play The Warrior Dance as that’s just one best songs going out there misses and I love it would of made our night even more special

Love love this place! Been coming here ever since I moved to Leeds for university. The vast range of artists that play in the venue is incredible and the team there are top notch!

Great little place, decent selection of drinks if a little pricey

Loved the discrete, speakeasy style entrance (via a barber's) to the bar. Great cocktails, fab music by the resident house band which culminated in a party atmosphere. Good fun!

Very cool bar (especially the air con on the hottest day of the year!) But seriously it is very cool, down some steps and your back in time, service is friendly and efficient. Cocktails are very good too and the bands are exceptionally good

I’ve not been this impressed by a bar in a long time. Atmosphere. Music. Bar tenders having fun making you drinks, really caring about it. Feels rare these days. If you’re properly into music and love to hear it from different shapes and angles, this is the place to be. Not just a gem, a place that makes you realise real diamonds aren’t cut from stone

I've visited the Domino club a few times over the years. First time for probably 6/7 years recently and it's just as good as I remember! Incredible atmosphere and there's something really special about it being hidden away in the back of the barbershop. The cover charge is very reasonable for high quality live acts all night. We couldn't book a table for our chosen night, but on arrival we were offered one that happened to be available straight away. Incredible range of drinks available. If you like whiskey, you'll be spoilt for choice! Good alcohol free options available too if you're driving or simply don't want to drink. Whilst tables are down, table service is available. Between myself and my partner we enjoyed an espresso martini, southern hospitality, an old fashioned and an alcohol free mojito. All absolutely fantastic and well presented. Water on the tables was welcomed too! The best evening venue in Leeds in my opinion!

The bar is lovely, good selection of drinks. A little pricey, but about what you’d expect on a Friday evening. Staff were friendly. But what let it down was the food. The ‘fried chicken’ resemble fish fingers in both look and texture and got me questioning if I had the right order. And the chips… well, this is your warning. The photo is allegedly £5s worth of chips! I’ve seen a seagull nick more off a child on the beach! A Nation of Shopkeepers - please be reasonable with your portions and/or your pricing for the love of god 🥲

A great bar with a fantastic atmosphere and great vegetarian options on the menu. I come as many Monday’s as I can to attend Mike’s quiz and there’s such a lovely sense of community in coming each week. Mike is a wonderful host and is so welcoming to every participant, and it’s been great to form friendships with other teams too! Really recommend for anyone looking for a new local spot / regular pub quiz event to join.

Great bar but the quiz on a Monday is a really nice highlight. Mike is an amazing host and the quiz brings a great sense of community and liveliness to the place! Absolutely must give it a try if you are in the area.

I am writing to express my complaint about an extremely unpleasant dining experience in your restaurant recently. My friends and I arrived at the restaurant at noon on March 19th, looking forward to enjoying delicious food and a pleasant dining experience, but unfortunately, we were troubled by a series of disappointing events. First of all, I would like to mention the attitude of the service staff. After we entered the restaurant, we tried to communicate with a waiter to order, but he seemed impatient and indifferent. Our request seems to have been completely ignored, and he is not even willing to face us, let alone order. This attitude makes us feel very disrespected and neglected. As customers, we hope to enjoy good service and delicious food in the restaurant, but our experience completely violates this expectation. Therefore, I hope that your restaurant can take our complaints seriously and take appropriate measures, including but not limited to retraining employees, to ensure that similar incidents do not happen again. We hope that your restaurant can apologize to us and promise to improve the quality of service so that all customers can enjoy equal and respectful treatment here.（There are also some more serious cases. The waitress has been chatting with white customers. I hope this is not racial discrimination, although for Asians, we feel obvious neglect and disrespect.）

Hired out the top floor for a party, such a good venue with enough space for people to chat but also dance. The staff were all incredibly friendly and super helpful throughout the night!

Probably one of the best niche bars I have ever been to with amazing staff. Pure history, the music, the vibe - it's everything. If you want a nice night out - I'm talking chill jazz, real Southern Motown kinda music. No shortage of Marvin Gaye, Otis Reading and much much more. It has another floor as well for parties they do on Saturdays. Excellent selection of spirits. They stocked my Bermuda rum which I'm proud of. If you find yourself in Leeds and want a nice place to go for a drink (not your typical pub or bar). Come to Smokestack. I will be returning.

Smokestack brings the essence of New Orleans to the centre of Leeds. It’s a speakeasy styled hangout that pulses with live funk, soul, blues and jazz music long into the night. These guys take great pride in their cocktail list, and after one or two have gone down the hatch it’s clear to see just why. Shaking up a liqueur storm with their premium southern-styled spirits, these mixed drinks offer quirky twists on forgotten classics. Rum-lovers need look no further than South of Soho, while the Parisian absinthe-laden Corpse Reviver No.2 packs one hefty punch. There’s plenty in store for the craft beer and wine connoisseurs too.

We called in here after having a meal at Bundobust, the bar was quiet, and it was cold too, more people did start arriving as we were leaving, the space is only small, perhaps it gets better later on into the evening. There are not many cider options either. Would have to try again to give it a more measured rating

This was a lovely pub for drinking, with a string of multi-coloured lights between the walls. The brickwork incorporates a nice old style too and objects in tribute to guitar playing are a solid addition, really enjoyed the live music performed here! Irish music in particular was fabulous and staff were friendly, even allowing me to try a sip before buying. I had one of the IPA's which had a proper level of flavour, seating is comfortable and kept clean!

Great little bar, decent selection of beers on, of which i chose the Saltaire blonde and it was on top form. The place itself is quite cosy with an eclectic mix of people all getting on well together and all in all giving a nice atmosphere. Definitely would pay another visit. Food wise i think it is just pork pies and toasties.

Tuesday night was a blast!! Been here a few times before and it’s been great. Thought I would go out of my way to write a review for especially Cyrus (blonde guy) and also yvo (brunette guy) who were working on the bar on the 30th of September. Both offered exceptional service. With lots of people in the bar, I didn’t have to wait for a drink, and both were lively and chatty as I was served. Would definitely recommend this place, I have even brought my girlfriend back on this Tuesday night as I thought it was so special on the jam night on a Tuesday

Good selection of ales available though some seem quite pricey compared to comparable bars in Newcastle and the North East. Atmosphere was ok, but as it was a Friday night it was busy and difficult to judge. I'm told it would be much more to my taste at quieter times so will be happy to go again to assess this.

This was a fantastic bar for drinking, with bright colours across the interior! Balloons and stylish frames add to the environment, counter is stylish. I enjoyed one of their ciders at comfortable seating, sat by a clean table!

Fab place for friends to meet and hang out! Good location, right in the city centre with good selection. They have both indoor and outdoor place. Nice and friendly staff, they are all very welcoming. Interesting decor and vibe. Their drink is really good. Although it is a bit pricy but the quality is obviously there!

Nice, tidy and friendly staff. Good selection of beers and ngood amount of seating. Be prepared to pay a good penny for the beer. Over £7 for a 3.9% cask ale.

Absolutely! North Bar is a fantastic spot. Their beer selection is incredible, and you can't beat the chill vibe for a night of drinks and board games. Staff are great too!!

Although the pizzas looked fantastic, we had already eaten, so unfortunately had to miss out on those! As for the rest..cool, jazz orientated bar with excellent choice of drinks.

Sela bar is a must go! Support your independents! Their £10 pizza and a pint deal (not sure of times) is flying under the radar and it needs to be heard more. They also do GF bases! Pictured is a half eaten GF olives pizza. One of the best gf bases I’ve had so bar. Not horribly dry or dense like most. You can sit outside on the street and people watch too. Good pints and always good live music.

Love going here when in Leeds. Nice atmosphere and good music generally. Never any problem. Unfortunately I cant go anymore as they have replaced the Kirstall Brewery Virtuous with Pilsner. Virtuous is gluten free Pilsner is not so no beer on pump that I can drink. Sad that they didn't think that through.

Nice little bar for beer, cocktails and more. Friendly staff. They have live bands on multiple times a week with different genres and tastes catered for. Good place for a dance and drink. They serve some pretty tasty pizzas as well. Definitely recommend.

I love this pizza! We rocked in about 10.30 on a Wednesday and loved the fact the kitchen was still open so made the most of beer and pizza for a tenner and it was delicious. A great deal considering I had paid nearly £8 for small fries and sauce with no drink somewhere else in Leeds.

Tucked away from the busy roads nearby this is a unique retreat and if you’re into rock music will find much to admire. The wooden interior is unique and feels like there’s a lot of history. There’s two different sections when you enter, with the music stage in one and the same staff serving between the two. They were friendly enough and very efficient - helping each other out when things got busy and knowing people’s orders proactively which was great. Prices were reasonable given the location and I’ll certainly be returning for a relaxing drink.

I don't get into Leeds much, but when I do I always enjoy a pint at the D&D. Friendly bar staff, reasonable prices, good music and nice clientele. The beer garden at the back is brilliant too. A lot of people don't know about that. Fun times.

One of my favourite pubs in Leeds. 15 cask ales and no carpets. Brilliant music venue. Know for staring in the film Bank of Dave which is now on Netflix. In the film it was in Bolton but today it was in the beautiful city of Leeds as it usually is.

Met up with few ex work colleagues other week. Called in this pub had a couple of pints. Friendly bar staff, nice pint of real ale. A traditional style pub we sat in enclosed beer garden to rear of pub. Plenty of space a good sun trap, a fair few other punters were in giving a good pint in good surrounds and atmosphere. Thoroughly recommend this bar seen live bands here in the past. Looks like they still have them on.

Unique music and art themed bar/cafe/live venue. Very relaxing atmosphere and lovely staff. Everyone welcome, no dress code so just be yourself. Live venue downstairs which offers an intimate musical experience. High quality PA and skilful sound tech.

Super cute place , vibey Had a vegan cheeseburger, very solid, definitely recommend to vegetarians and vegans and also meat eaters alike. They got a very nice spicy sauce. Very kind service, gave me a hot glass of milk off the menu just because I asked.

Great place to sit and have a coffee. Morning brunch has many great options options. In the evening there is a large vegan and vegetarian menu selection. Seems to be the place to be for Uni-students.

Ordered a vegan breakfast. I found it quite expensive for what I got and definitely was not worth the waiting time(45mn). No one apologised for how long it took and on top of that the waiter threw the cutlery on the table. The decor of this cafe is beautiful but the service is not amazing and could do so much better

Really great venue! Used for our daughter's dance performance, it was great to be able to see so easily (especially for our youngest) and it was a lovely place to get to. Shame it was chucking it down and the parking was very busy.

Community style cafe- bar / arts venue with friendly staff, regular entertainment (concerts and comedy at extra charge) in their small theatre with intimate ambience and good visibility of the artistes. Serving crisp pretzels and nuts, or you can buy takeaway locally and consume it in the cafe, they assured me (check on the day though!) Alcoholic or coffee/tea with oat / soya milk options. Disabled access and 1 X separate wheelchair accessible toilet (no radar key needed) comfy lounge area, wooden dining tables & chairs plus outdoor patio style seating out front. Adequate/patchy WiFi [ 0.34Mb/s i e. SLOW Download, but fast 2Mb/s upload) with easy to set password. NO dogs.

Great night watching the exceptionally talented Martyn Joseph. Very comfortable venue with easy street parking and a well stocked bar.

Mis-sold “standing” area — no view at all The “standing” area was a blocked-view pen behind a seated block. As soon as the “seated” section stood up, our view of the stage was completely obstructed. We spent the show looking at the backs of people and phone screens. There was no arrival info, stewards didn’t manage the area, and staff offered no relocation. This is not the experience advertised. We paid to see a live performance, not to listen from behind an obstruction. This feels mis-sold and poor value for money. The venue should either manage the seated section, cap numbers, label this as “restricted view”, or stop selling these tickets. Absolutely disappointing. We could’ve listened at home for free. Would not recommend this venue layout to anyone.

One of the best venues I have been to, from getting in (so well organised). To the view and atmosphere (Primal Scream). Definitely will be looking out for future gigs.

This is a great venue. Although, the frisking and bag checks may seem a bit OTT, but that's par for the course these days. So don't get offended! Downstairs it's standing room only. There's bars at the back and to the rear of the sides, incl. a merch shop. Upstairs it's banked seating. The seats aren't massive but I've sat in worse! I think drinks are expensive (anything more than £4.50 a pint is, to me), but probably on a par with similar venues. Shame they've removed the couple of sofas which were just off the left side of the standing area downstairs. These provided comfort for those whose legs needed a break from standing. Getting to a toilet isn't too bad, there's a few around the place. The cloakroom is £3 a pop, and I also trusted them with my camera; all were kept safe. I've been there quite a few times now and I quite like it. They pull in decent-sized bands. I've recently seen Pixies, Akt Tunstall, Inspiral Carpets, and the Pixies there. Awesome sound each time.

Went for bongos bingo which was amazing the staff on entrance where really friendly. However the price of drinks was ridiculously expensive. The cocktails not so much but for a tiny glass of vodka red bull I was charged £14!!! Not impressed on the drinks prices what so ever. Security staff inside very moody apart from the guy that takes you to stage when you won he was really friendly and helpful even escorted me out of the building with my prize.

Bought tickets to see James Marriott, parking was a bit of a nightmare but the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, especially the lady in the box office who helped me. The venue was good, managed to get a decent view even with taller people stood in front of me. Drinks were a little bit pricey in my opinion but could’ve been worse, had a great night overall!

Our first time visit to the O2 Academy Leeds proved to be a great experience. O2 Academies are great platforms for a wide range of theatre, production and music but especially for artists who are continuing to grow within the world of music entertainment. The O2 Academy Leeds has a capacity of 2300 people spread over the ground floor stalls to the upstairs balcony area. The seating on the balcony is typically unreserved and on a first come first served basis so if you want to be near the front…. Move fast!! The seating front on to the stage is tiered, where the side wings are more single bench style. We managed to get central front row seats on the balcony which gave great views of the stage. Our event at The O2 Academy was to see The Struts and Barns Courtney on their Grand Union Tour and this venue was a great place to see both bands. The venue is obviously not huge but it’s certainly big enough to have a crowd that generates a great atmosphere. Sound and lighting was good, plenty of bars and toilets around each floor level and all staff we encountered was really good. Located quite central to Leeds City Centre there is ample car parking nearby. We parked at The Light Q Park which was a circa 4 minute walk. All in all a great experience at The O2 Academy Leeds.

Visited with stepdaughter after looking at student digs. The staff were unfriendly, unhelpful and one was very rude. The Fenton Ale is one to avoid, more like nats urine. At least the tables and chairs are of a good qualitiy.

Part of our Otley run. Great pub. Really enjoyed it. Friendly staff and good food, perfect venue for a drunken pub crawl.

Decent pub with a good beer garden out back. Has a great range of craft ciders on offer. Significantly more than any other pub in the area and a nice chilled out bit of music playing in the background. Would definitely come again just for the pineapple and oink grapefruit cider.

TLDR: Event support staff were extraordinary, great view from wheelchair access area, would happily return for another show! I attended Stylus to see Peach PRC's show and feel compelled to make a review commending the event staff, especially Luc the event manager. I was stuck waiting to get picked up much longer than planned which wasn't ideal as I do not know Leeds well, it was my first time attending a concert alone, and I'm a wheelchair user so likely to be seen as an easy target by people with bad intentions. Upon realising I was going to be waiting a while, I returned to where I'd exited the venue to ask for directions to the Student Union bar to wait there but they informed me it was unfortunate already closed for the night. However, the event manager Luc, whom I'd already met earlier in the night, offered to stay with me until my lift arrived. He was very friendly and chatty, helped me feel calm and relaxed despite the circumstances, and was even kind enough to walk me right to the car that was picking me up. I'm so grateful to them all for the help I recieved and for keeping me safe in a unfamiliar city. Luc went above and beyond and I can't thank him enough. It wasn't the simplest place to find if you've never been before; I didn't see any signs for 'Stylus' and I wasn't sure I was in the right place until I actually went into the building and found a sign in there. So don't panic if you think you've gone to the wrong place, the map is accurate, the venue is inside the university building. The venue itself was imperfect for a visitor in a wheelchair: the lift they typically use was out of order BUT there was an alternative available thankfully. Also there was a massive pillar blocking view of the stage from half of the wheelchair accessible area BUT it seemed they were aware of it and had accounted for it when admitting the number of wheelchair users to the area as there was enough room for all of us to fit on the side where visibility was good so neither if these 'faults' caused real issue. On the plus side, I must say the wheelchair accessible area I was in was incredibly close to the stage, the closest I've ever personally experienced as a wheelchair user. It was a warm night but precautions were taken to keep the place as cool as possible (doors to outside open for ventilation and security handed out cups of water periodically throughout the night). All in all, I would be happy to return for a show at this venue:)

Such a decent event, this was my first time going. It was kinda difficult to find the place, my satnav wasn't having any of it. But once I was here I certainly will be going again. I couldn't find spaces without a permit but managed to park near Springfield Mount. I do have a disabled badge, I did try ringing the event to find spaces but the event phoneline was saying you were closed. The event was nicely spread out so people in crowds wasn't in one area. The bar was reasonably priced.

Saw Obituary perform here and it was a very loud and very fun gig. The staff were all friendly and security was efficient. I really liked the raised section that allows you to look down onto the mosh pit while also getting a good view of the stage. There are no bad spots in this venue and you can enjoy the gif from everywhere.

This was our first visit to the Stylus. We did an afternoon recce on the location. Helpful students soon set us right. It is inside the student union building but a few flights of stairs down. There were no posters or directions to the venue. Which is in the heart of Leeds University. It is not a large venue compared to many, but what it does have is a very special atmosphere. This could of course be down to the performing band. Tonight we saw Dirty Honey. They were excellent and just seem to improve every time we see them. On the back of a stunning new album, they're touring quite extensively. It was a good blend of their music. It got quite hot during the performance. It was good to see security at the front of the stage offering cups of water. We will certainly be visiting again.

A load of old farts watching the Wedding Present, drinking cheap(ish) booze. Jumping about like idiots. FANTASTIC NIGHT! 🙏❤️🍻

Like a mini 02 academy - I love it. I went to see Dry Cleaning there and was really great being upfront and personal. My only beef would be the sound - I was disappointed in that I couldn't hear the words the lead singer was saying. I say "saying" as Florence from the band talks rather than sings. So, I would say this was a good test as you should hear the words of someone talking, over someone singing. To me, it was like the levels were all wrong and I could only make out certain words as I knew a lot of the songs. Songs I am unfamiliar with, I didn't have a clue what she was saying. I don't know if it was where I was stood (slap bang in the middle at the very front) but there we go. There's been very little about the gig online so I can't tell if others had the same experience. At one point I wanted to put my hand up and tell them but thought that was inappropriate! Oh, support acts had no problem! So, don't know if that was the venues issue or the band so there we go

We came to see The Teskey Brothers here and it was absolutely amazing! We found finding the venue a little tricky it didn't seem very well signposted! Great size inside and great lay out! Husband used the bar with ease too!

A bit of a dive...! Definitely an alternative venue if I'm being honest. Looks like its run by students. The place needs a good refurbishment to bring it up to a better standard. They do have a good selection of beers though so top marks for that.

Very open and diverse space with decent prices on the bar and a range of gigs in the other room. Often a queue for the loo but people tend to be considerate and it moves quickly. Welcoming and fun atmosphere. Popular with trans, punk and activist circles.

A very nice, welcoming and safe place for all. Drinks are very reasonably priced with suggestions for additional voluntary contributions for each item for those who can afford it- what great idea for this really cool workers’ co-operative in the heart of Leeds. Highly recommended!

The area can look daunting at night. It's just not for me. During the day, it appears safer. Great dancing space nearby a very nice and spacious spot.

Made the most of the buy one get one free offer and got two lots of drinks. It was nice but fairly early in the night but was pretty quiet even for St Paddys day.

Went for bottomless brunch, the worst brunch I’ve ever been to. Staff barely ever came round to ask us for drinks, got to the end of our brunch after waiting a good 20 minutes for our drinks after asking 3 different members of staff and they gave us 4 drinks each and then said we have only got 5 minutes before we need to leave and drink up and if we didn’t drink our drinks they would be thrown away. The drinks they gave us were in cups that had already been used with obvious lipstick marks all the way around the edge of cup and one of drinks had hair in them. Toilets were disgusting and had to ask for toilet roll as they was never any in. Spoke to other girls in the toilet and they had all experienced the same bad service as well. The venue is nice and has the potential to be a good place to go to but definitely isn’t a brunch venue.

Terrible. When booking a slot online they was no end time shown, it just said 9pm till- After buying a bottle of vodka by time it came we only had an hour to finish before been kicked out. Yet groups of girls were allowed to stay in from 9pm till close time. Wouldn’t even let us finish the bottle, rude when trying to discuss the issue too.

Booked a table for 4 people and paid £60 deposit. When I attended I paid full price for all drinks and didn't receive a refund of my deposit. When I chased this multiple times on Facebook messenger I was told there was nothing I could do as I didn't ask the waitress on the night. Then they just completely blanked all subsequent messages on Facebook. Rubbish!!!

So poorly organised and TERRIBLE customer service. When we came in, they made us sit for 30 minuets, without being served or the table we originally booked for although we had a booking that we paid for. They eventually sat us at our table which was still not the best table. We tried to ask if we could sit elsewhere because the place was EMPTY but they didn't... Then one man working there came up to us, he tried to kick us out because they needed the table for other customers, and I tried to explain to him that we were made to wait 30 minuets with no service and poor seating. He wouldn't let me talk and spoke over me whilst I was trying to explain, because we paid for our seats. He proceeded to talk over me even though I kept telling him stop speaking over me, the place was empty, they can give us an extra 30 minuets! He was shouting at me in front of my friends which was extremely embarrassing. I eventually gave up because I didn't even want to stay there any longer, but it was just the principle. Then I tried to take a picture at the swings and he comes up again and tells us we can't take photos, which is fair enough... but again the place was empty, and I've taken pictures at the swing before and never had issues. Then I tried to speak to him to explain one last time, he says "I dont want to hear it" he was talking over me again, and he tells me to "f*** off" and eventually I lost my cool and just left. I have NEVER EVER been spoken to like that before. It was a horrible start to our night, never going there again! They tried to overcharge us for drinks but we managed to make sure that didn't happen.

Would be a 5☆ however the unnecessarily aggressive doorman tainted our visit. He was intimidating and rude given we were only passing him on the door at 6pm. An unpleasant and unneeded experience. Aside from that the barstafff and drinks were great. Train your door staff in customer service.

New to Leeds and was with a big mixed group and though to try everywhere out . Big, white and bald person said no you're not allowed in here for some reason which was beyond our own. Pretty disappointed as the club looked dead and thought we would get in with no problems. Just my experience

good looking bar and great atmosphere but the drink prices were extortionate and one of the staff members accused me of not paying for my drink. When I got my drink it tasted like a half beer half soap mix and was not very enjoyable.

Female bar tender was beyond rude to me and my female friend but super nice to all male customers. Spoke to my friend in the bathroom and another woman overheard and came over to tell us she is always like that to women. Absolutely disgusting and vile staff member, I will never go back.

Came in for a quick pint to see off the night, staff were friendly and got us our drinks swiftly. As it was nearly 2am on a Sunday it wasn't particularly busy, and it was much livlier when we passed earlier in the week.

Went a couple of weeks ago and a female bartender (long curly reddish hair and short-shorts and a tank top) was incredibly rude to me and my female friend, but very polite to our male friend and other male customers. After asking for a drink, I was shouted at by her, she was demanding that I say 'please', meanwhile it was so loud in the venue that I couldn't even hear myself so I had simply pointed to what I want and had smiled to try to be polite. She then rolled her eyes at me and said that other customers had been rude to her today. That's not my problem and you should not be taking it out on other customers. Our male friend said he had no issue with her when he didn't say please, and we saw multiple male customers go over and she was all smiles with them. This does not create a safe environment for women going out when female staff are lovely to men and unkind to women. I won't be coming again if she works there.

The unleashed comedy night here is great, However the new chairs are downright painful! Even the old benches were more comfortable than these. Shame. Would like more non alcoholic options too.

Had a really good night here watching some very funny comedy acts. The only downside is that the seating is very uncomfortable, and when the venue is full, trying to get to the bar or toilets is a challenge! I would definitely go again to see some great acts.

Me and my friends came for the comedy night last night, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We laughed pretty much the whole way through. The line up was great. The only downside for me were the benches (I understand why you use them and makes it easier) as it hurt my back and gave me a numb bum a couple of times 🙈 Prosecco bottle was £35 each which is about average now. Staff were friendly too. Thank you guys for a good giggle 😁

First visit to the HiFi club, really liked the venue a lot. Went to see standup comedy. Will definitely be going again. One point there is not enough seats for everyone so if you get there a bit late you may have to stand up for the show.

Nice venue for comedy club. I'd not been here before. Felt quite intimate. Easy to get to the bar between acts. Toilets very clean.

Visiting for a gig was simple as security checks were swift and there are helpful signs to find your seats. The usher was very helpful regarding rows and sections. There are two screens in the arena for viewers at the back. Would return again for similar events. Be wary of pricings though, as a bottle of still water was £7!

Great british pub awards dinner held at this arena. The arena is very substandard. No toilets on the event floor level. Causing havoc for women in heels. Really poor toilets. Lights missing, door missing on the men's. These are basics. For am awards dinner you would expect a venue that is able to cope with a certain level of customer expectation. Security staff were very polite and ok point. If you are looking to host a formal dinner or expecting a women in heels and men who like lights and doors in toilets. This is not the venue for you.

Has been there for Simply Red concert. Well organised everything was on time. Not impressed with t- shirt prices but I think that maybe the band indication. Good acoustic. Overall good experience.

We went to see Simply Red in September. We paid £175 per head for the North Gallery. It was a mixed bag. The photos are what you see from where it is. If you have the choice between the back few rows that are high up and the gallery, take the latter. If the cost difference isn't huge. The view of the stage is unobstructed, but if you want to see the artist up close, you may want to avoid this. The description of it sells it as more of a suite or corporate box. It's not, you'll pass those on the way. It's essentially a self-contained, tiny corridor with around 15 barstools, each with limited space to move or dance. There is a dedicated waitress service, and she was lovely, although you receive one token each for a complimentary drink. I had a Diet Coke, which half-filled the glass. I inquired and was told they only served 330ml bottles of Coke, hence it was half full. It didn't look good and didn't sit well with us. Subsequently, 2 alcoholic drinks and the Coke cost me £23. The toilets are immediately outside, so instantly accessible. The kitchen apparently closed at 20:30 - it may not always be so - which seemed a bit like the DC. For about 10 - 15 max people, at least offer cold snacks or sandwiches. Maybe they do, but if so, we weren't told. The external entrance to the VIP area is clearly visible and well signposted, with a dedicated lift providing direct access upstairs. If the cost wasn't significantly higher than the high rows, we would use it again. Obviously, that's an individual judgement call. On the other hand, we felt somewhat short changed. There was certainly no wow factor. But it was ok.

I have only visited the First Direct Arena in Leeds once and that was to see Chris Rock live. I got parked near the venue were pretty cheap, with a really pleasant surprise that right next to the arena, there were plenty of food options outside of the venue so you don’t have to buy expensive drink or snack in the venue itself if you choose to. The arena itself is pretty big, and spaced out quite nicely so you aren’t feeling claustrophobic when sitting down or getting up to walk around the arena for the interval. Overall, I would recommend it, and I will make a trip back here one day.

Great venue, we came here for the first time to watch John Bishop. The drink prices are very expensive for 6.90 for a large soft drink is absolutely scandalous. But the venue itself is good. Only not a 5 due to extortionate drink and food pricing

Visited on 7 Nov to see Peter Kay. We booked premium tickets which included a meal. This meant we could enter earlier than the normal door opening time and through a dedicated entrance. We were taken straight to our table where we enjoyed champagne and a tasty 3 course meal. With this package, your table is yours for the whole evening so you are not rushed to finish your meal and you can return to it for the interval. There are also dedicated restrooms with Molton Brown handwash, a lovely touch! For the performance, you enter the arena through an internal door, so no queueing and then you can show your ticket to return back through at the interval. There is a private bar with lots of staff so queueing is minimal but you can also preorder interval drinks. We did this and they were waiting on our table when we got there. Highly recommend this premium experience, all staff were excellent throughout, our server was fantastic (table 40), and security staff were also great. It was so great to see Peter, years after we originally booked and worth the wait x 🙏💙🇯🇵👁🤣

Lovely decor, we didn't book but it was very quiet when we arrived 1.30pm. Only two other tables occupied. No one came to great us or offered us a table, so we just seated ourselves. It was then a good 10 minutes until we were approached and our drink and food order were taken. A further 10 minutes for a coke to arrive, followed by a further long wait and then us to prompt for our water to be brought to us . We requested a highchair and one was provided, but unfortunately, it only had one of its straps which meant one of the parents had to sit with a hand on the chair to stop the baby sliping through. Starters came. They were piping hot and very, very tasty. Further long wait, to which we were starting to panic slightly as we had a train to catch but then the mains arrived. Well worth the wait as they were lovely. We had a couple of the lite bite steaks, great value and the steaks were cooked to perfection, well seasoned. The guy we spoke to as leaving was very friendly and lovely to talk to but unfortunately, the service was very poor considering how quiet it was. A shame because the food was very good.

Appalling is the best I can say ! Light bulbs not working a filthy toilet with chewing gum stuck to the tiles the upholstered seating was badly stained on more than one of the chairs and sofas. filthy carpets … we were sat down given menus and on ordering not seating were informed that only one of the steaks of the four were available (we wanted three T bones) the pate was off the menu completely (old menu) two of us wanted to order that … plaster on the ceiling was cracked and missing, in fact the whole place is worn and in places dirty … we paid for drinks only half drunk and left in disgust Marstons should be ashamed avoid if possible … oh and 20 minute wait to order drinks and 15 for them to arrive.

Unfortunately, the bartender’s service was subpar and left a negative impression. I had a very disappointing experience with one of your bartenders during my visit for conference in your hotel. They were rude and made insulting remarks in front of other guests, which made me feel extremely uncomfortable and disrespected. This kind of behavior is not what I expect from a professional in hospitality, and it affected the overall atmosphere of the night. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, as I believe respectful service should be a basic standard for any establishment.

Came for a hen party on Saturday 14th June we had bottomless brunch and I have to say it was amazing, food was great and cocktails were lovely, I don’t remember the name of the lady that served us but she did an amazing job of looking after us and we will definitely visit again

Had my sisters wedding reception in the boardroom at lost and found on Albion place. Was an excellent day, felt very relaxed and in good hands with the team. The wedding party thoroughly enjoyed themselves and thought the room we had was lovely. Great service, tasty food (especially the bruschetta) great drinks. Planning the event was easy and communication was consistent and always had quick responses. They really helped make my sisters wedding reception perfect and stress free! Would definitely recommend for small/intimate wedding receptions.

Our Waiter Ethan was brilliant. Good fun polite and entertaining. He looked after us really well. The food was delicious , i wasn’t expecting such a high standard from a chain restaurant. Will definitely recommend Leeds Albion street to friends. Very good value.

Lovely girls date today, food amazing, atmosphere , had amazing service by Ella lovely lady so friendly and accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure me and my friend have the best experience.

Such a lovely place in the city centre and so close to the train station. The menu has a great variety and is perfect for sharing. The nduja toast and meatballs were perfectly cooked and went down a treat. I'd reccomend the mushroom pasta as well, really fresh and filling. One thing that stood out was the great service! Will definitely be back. For the city centre and the quality of the food the prices are really reasonable!

Just a quick review. I spent a few days in Leeds as a solo female traveller. I used Ham & Friends as a base to meet friends and a date. I love the atmosphere the food and the care the staff provided. Kaycee is a gem, I didn’t catch the names of the two other bar staff, I wish I had because they all made my visit so welcomming and safe. It will forever be my first stop for lunch and wine on my next visit. Recommend to everyone. I may have to book you for a quietly raucous 50th?!! Perfect people watching window. Thank you.

Enjoyed lovely wine, ham and small plates at this place. Good value for the quality. We called in on a Saturday evening without a reservation, we were greeted as arrived and asked if wanted to wait at the bar, we were only a few minutes waiting before a table was available.

OK. I am writing this as I sit here. Firstly, it’s utterly superb. I was a walk in single diner on a Friday evening (working in Leeds Fri/Sat). It’s a cool, chic, friendly, laid back, fizzing atmosphere. I had a nice single table in the window. I let the waiters recommend wines - and they nailed it. Trust the chap with the beard - he knows what he’s taking about!! White, Red, Red. To eat I had the meatballs and the potatoes - again, waiters recommendation - sounds like the most boring dinner on the planet? Wrong, completely wrong. It was (to quote my teenage son) bang’in! Absolutely delicious - I would eat it again now. And I have only just finished it. Followed it up with a hard cheese, biscuits and a (boring but delicious) Malbec. OK. It’s not cheap. Dinner for 1 at £60 but it’s blooming good…..genuinely….really that good. Well done the Friends of Ham.Just to reiterate….it’s utterly superb.

I didn't eat, though the menu looked good! Good range of drinks. The place has a lovely vibe & it's very close to the train station. The staff were fab, very attentive , would defo go back.

Good atmosphere, very busy, good ordering experience, the tables however are very small, when our dishes came there wasn't enough room on the table for them, asked if we could move, but we couldn't, had to send it back to keep warm. Then advised to put out drinks on the shelf behind us, which we did. There still wasn't enough room to share the dishes comfortably. Overall a bit disappointing.

Bloody good pub, selling a large selection of very good real ales. Victorian interior clean and well kept. Visited as it was on my parents marriage cert as my dad's address In the late 1950s, he lodged here. Live music. External seating. Highly recommend.

Lovely pub, with various rooms of different sizes all very cozy. Old school rock vibes, the live music must be great there. Manager Martin knows his ales and serves the good stuff. A must if you want to experience the authentic Yorkshire pub scene.

Proper traditional pub, we went early evening when it was quiet but I can easily imagine the place bouncing when they have live music. Staff were very friendly and they had a good range of beers. There was also an outside area which was lovely in the sun. Well worth the walk out of Leeds, we will be back.

Ok, so, I was wandering past after a tiring and busy day, thinking 'nearly at hotel, but need the the loo'. Popped in here, and 6 hours later had had a brilliant dance, met 4 great women, had a glorious intergenerational flirt with a golden haired angel called Ben, heard the sharpest, well I don't know what... Rock funk?...on a good sound system by a great Californian band. All fuelled by a terrific lineup of beers, with a good quality/value pasty to help me cope with trying each beer. Huge, HUGE shout-out to Chandler on staff (this is spelt wrong, I'm sorry) and Simon who were solid, charming hosts. The building is beautifully preserved and unfannied around with (technical term) and super well managed. Now I know I got extra lucky with Darnell's band, but honestly, an unexpectedly brilliant place. I hope I get to live in Leeds. This place and night topped off my 3 days here. Please note, the price range I chose for this review reflects how much beer I drank: lots. It's not pricey at all IMHO

Wednesday evening and a steady flow of customers. We love this little bar tucked away behind highrise offices and apartments in Leeds City Centre, Been many times over the years. When we are in Leeds we do try to drop by for a cheeky beer. We didn't eat, well, only crisps and nuts,!

One of my favourite bars to go in Leeds city centre. I think this is wine bar but, somehow, Madri beer here is super good and fresh. Usually very calm atmosphere, so that perfect place to have conversation. The staffs are always kind too.

Very good service. The waiters are knowledgeable and there are a wide range of wines to sample by the glass. Mocktails are decent too, albeit pricey for the area.

We had a bottomless brunch to celebrate my birthday. Joe the waiter was such a gentleman and made sure we were looked after with great service, excellent drinks and amazing charcuterie and cheese platters. Real value for money!

Came here on a recommendation from a doorman of another bar. The door staff here was also very friendly especially the lady working (didnt catch a name). This is a basement alternative night club with 2 rooms. Place was busy and one room has rock/pop rock music on and the other was more heavy metal. Both rooms had their own bar, and staff were quick at serving. Prices were good and shots were only £2.50 each, bargain!

As well as going multiple times and absolutely loving the atmosphere, music, and vibe, I recently played a gig here and I have to say the help with setting up and sound/lights was incredible. The staff were super friendly and clearly knew what they were doing, the gig was amazing and it couldn’t have been possible without them. 10/10 would definitely recommend to go for a night out or to play a gig.

Great club with a really smart setup. Two rooms with different music so there's always something to enjoy no matter your mood. Both had great DJs and a solid vibe. There’s space to sit down when you need a break, which can make the night more relaxed. Drinks were cheap and service was quick. Also appreciated that there were two bathrooms, Easy way in and out if you're going for a smoke, and the staff act quickly when there was a medical emergency. Overall a really good night out.

Been here so many times. It's the best alternative club in Leeds. Drinks are decently priced, music is great, the crowd are full of the nicest people. I feel very safe here, and always have a really good time. Recommend it to anybody who's had an emo phase. I know they have another entrance for wheelchair users (just ask bouncer). On weekends there are multiple couches for anybody who needs a break. They also have downstairs toilets since the main ones are up some steep stairs (you will need to ask if room 2 is not open.)

Great venue with lovely, accommodating and kind staff. I’m autistic and going to new places is scary; I messaged them on Instagram to see if they could send me some pictures or a video or the inside of the venue so I knew what to expect when I got there. They were quick to response and kind enough to send me a video of the venue from the entrance right through the entire venue! Deffo recommend going here!

Proper old-school sweaty underground bunker venue, just like gigs used to be back in the day! Saw Mustard Plug here (my first time at the venue) and once you've found the door it's down the narrow steps and you're basically straight in! Not very big - guessing 200 or so people - and, most importantly, the sound was really good, they obviously know what they're doing in that department. Lighting was a touch dull but I've seen much worse. Bar was the big letdown for me, only industrial beers so I didn't bother, surely it's not that hard to have a local craft beer on tap, there's hundreds of them! But that's the only thing I'd really pull them up on.

Great night here. There was no real ale, so it lost a star, but the staff were great. The bar was quite quick, given the queues and drinks were not overly dear. Really friendly atmosphere. Good, non-intrusive security. The cloakroom was £2 and recommended. Decent quiet area away from the concert. Toilet facilities were good. I've seen concerts here for over 45 years now, and it's always been a great venue. Better now than ever, actually (except for the beer). Can't fully comment on disabled access for this one, but the viewing area for wheelchair users looked very good - great view and a part of the concert area.

Not an awful night but some of the clientele had an attitude and there was a bit of an atmosphere at the gig I went to. Security ensured a thorough patting down and scan, which is both reassuring and unnerving. Not the friendliest place to be honest, but I suppose they are used to dealing with students and not a miserable 41 year old. Young man's game I suppose looking back.

University of Leeds Beckett su is great, there’s always someone around to help whether that be with personal issues or IT skills. It’s really accessible for disabled people with ramps across campus, disabled toilets and lifts whilst also making sure corridors are wide enough for wheelchairs to fit through. The Students Union are really passionate about equality and ensuring every voice is heard, respecting pronouns and listening to any changes the students want to see. You see regular emails about the changes that are being made, whether that be resurfacing a road/path or the times/location of support groups such as bereavement, eating disorders and various traumas. Leeds beckett university are amazing at providing support, even students themselves- there’s always someone to chat to! Lecturers here help with not just your modules but you, yourself- if you say you’re struggling they’re there to guide you and help you understand what your degree is asking from you. Uni is about a 10 minute walk into town which has lots of places to eat and drink (there’s a spoons so you know you’re sorted for cheap drinks!) The train station is also really close so you can travel to places. London is also not that far away so theatre goers can enjoy West End productions without the consequences of living in a busy and expensive city. The only problem is that there are some areas on your way out of campus that are dimly lit or not lit at all during the night, however the Students Union are looking into it and have voiced our concerns to leeds beckett council to ensure everyone feels safe on their way home. On the topic of safe, I want to commend uni for tackling spiking- with everyone entering the Students Union Bar (including staff) getting searched, stoppers for glass bottles and lids for cups to prevent anyone getting spiked during these horrible times.

Brilliant venue we were there for Maximö Park's farewell to Lukas gig 👌 staff were polite, friendly and helpful and the place is cool inside with plenty of seats and pool tables around. Managed to get on the balcony Which was awesome.

Staff is very rude! Just went to a concert there. I filmed for a few minutes without flash and the light on my screen was on the lowest level, so my phone's screen was almost black, no light coming from my phone. All of a sudden, staff comes and puts a very bright light into my eyes asking me to stop filming. First of all I WASN'T INFORMED THAT FILMING IS FORBIDDEN AT THIS CONCERT, no email, no info on the website. Second, I filmed just for a few minutes, no light coming from my phone..IT WAS RUDE TO PUT A BRIGHT LIGHT INTO MY EYES, you should find a more respectful way to inform customers that filming is forbidden at a concert, it is not my fault you're not capable of organizing events and inform customers properly! If filming is not allowed, YOU SHOULD INFORM PEOPLE BEFOREHAND, not blind them during a concert! I wasn t the only one filming anyways, but I was the only one literally blinded. I was so angry that I didn t even enjoy the rest of the concert, a waste of money! I bought tickets for another concert, I will cancel them and I will tell all of my friends to stay away from this venue. You literally treat customers like sheep, just throw a bucket of water on them, electroshock them to grab their attention, what do you care. If filming is forbidden at this venue, why your review section is full of pics and videos from concerts? Why there is no info on your website and on the email that you send with guidelines for a particular event? You just randomly pick one person from the crowd and blind them cause u are in the mood to have fun on the expense of another person.

Had a wonderful evening watching Opera North performing in Howard Assembly Room. Really nice atmosphere. Incredibly nice staff and the beautiful music resulted in a magical experience. Can't wait to go again.

Howard Assembly Room is a great venue for intimate performances. My husband and I have been enjoying the place ever since we moved to Leeds. We went to see different concerts and artists and were never disappointed. My understanding is it was recently renovated and I think it definitely benefited the place. You can still see and appreciate the old building and its structure yet it’s well lit up and has wide staircase and an elevator. The seating is new and convenient which helps you relax and focus on the stage. The staff is always polite and helpful. Great place all around.

The Room is a really special venue. It looks stunning, great acoustics and a stage large enough to fit a lot of people on. It can be configured in a very flexible variety of seating options.

I went for the first time yesterday evening. What a beautiful venue; a creative renovation of an older venue, giving accessibility facilities and clean lines, but leaving the roof in the main hall, and the windows, showing its heritage. The staff were courteous, helpful and seeming to be everywhere, seemingly magically appeared if someone had a problem such as when we were unsure where to go for our seats, or when someone spilt their drinks

A really nice events venue. The acoustics inside are very good and it really allows listeners to feel part of the performance. There are also plenty of facilities and places to get bar snacks and drinks.

Roundhay Park is a beautiful green space at the heart of the community. The park has something for everyone – from wide open areas to relax, to fun attractions like the land train ride and play parks for children. The lake is perfect for a stroll, and feeding the ducks is always a favourite. There’s a lovely café overlooking the water, and you’ll often find an ice cream van nearby on sunny days. The park also hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including fairs and food festivals, which make every visit feel different and exciting. A vibrant and welcoming place

Nice area with cafes, walks, cricket pitch and a land train. Area was really clean (almost no litter) and the paths were fairly good; more than good enough for pushchairs and wheelchairs. Also the Monet Garden and HESCO garden which were lovely too.

Roundhay Park is such a nice place to spend a few hours. It’s really big, with lakes, open fields, and plenty of walking paths. There are always people out with their dogs or having picnics, but it still feels calm and peaceful. You can get some great views around the park too. It’s one of those spots that just makes you feel relaxed and glad to be outside

It was very fantastic yesterday afternoon and I enjoyed it a lot with my only brother and husband. There is a nice view of the lake area. A nice arrangement for sitting is also a perfect picnic spot with a picture perfect environment.we are delighted specially me because I always ask my husband for the "Ice-cream " they sell at the park yesterday its perfect timing and took two on my both hand like my childhood then went back to my childhood days....itsssss a Marvelous day out....thanks to park authority.... Going very soon there.. 😊

It’s my favourite place to visit in Leeds. The most beautiful and spacious park in the city with great views and landscapes especially round the lakes. You can enjoy walking, cycling, hiking or just relaxing having your tea or coffee near the lake. It’s the best place for picnic although it doesn’t have enough restrooms for visitors.

A fabulous huge open space free to visit. Although LCC have now imposed car parking charges which isn’t ideal. Disabled parking is free. 2 beautiful lakes, loads of walks. Wonderful band stand. Boathouse cafe and coffee shop at the bottom. Mansion house tea rooms at the top.

I have wandered through Roundhay Park in Leeds, where winding paths invite quiet walks and nature whispers through rustling leaves and birdsong. I still remember sitting by the lake one quiet afternoon, the sun casting golden ripples on the water, lost in thought as time seemed to slow. Beneath towering trees and open skies, peace lingers like a gentle breeze. It’s a place I’d warmly recommend to locals seeking a breath of calm and to visitors hoping to feel the quiet soul of Yorkshire.

Fantastic food I love the Botanist unfortunately the Manchester one has shut but luckily my daughter has moved to Leeds uni. Good food on a adventurous menu I had 3 starters as a tapas, Calamari, Pork belly and Korean chicken every one was fantastic and also a good price.

I visited on Wednesday evening, and I believe our server’s name was Sam. This was my very first time dining out since having stomach surgery, so I was honestly a bit nervous. I have a lot of dietary restrictions now, and eating out can feel intimidating. From the moment Sam greeted us, he couldn’t have been more understanding or accommodating. He took the time to really listen, answered every question with patience, and made me feel completely at ease about my meal choices. It’s rare to feel so genuinely cared for in a dining experience, and I truly appreciated his kindness and attention to detail. On top of the excellent service, the food was absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I left feeling not only comfortable and safe, but also so grateful to have had such a positive first dining-out experience after surgery.

Really nice place, great drinks selection. Food menu not too large to make it difficult to choose but has something for everyone. The hot sharing platter was excellent. Decoration is nice but why call a place the botanist and then decorate it with plastic plants. I mean come on 😖

Missed a star for atmosphere because it was a bit cramped. Went with family (grown up children) they accidentally spilt chips on my daughter (the bowl went over as they were putting it down). Well they couldn’t have been more attentive. The restaurant manager came to check on her, her meal was free and we got a free round of cocktails. Amazing customer service! The waitress was great too. Food was nice and so were the drinks

We really enjoyed our food here while shopping in The Trinity. Staff were fast and friendly. Food was tasty and we especially appreciated the two for one special on the hanging kebabs. The sides were really tasty too. There were plenty of gluten free options which I really appreciated. The drinks list is very extensive. I appreciated the variety although the cocktails were a smidge on the pricey side but that can be expected for the area.

Lovely little pub. Only found it after searching Google for pub food and saw it's only a two minute walk from The Light, where we were heading for the cinema later. Had the full range of Timothy Taylor's cask ales on, so had three while I was there. Also had the Sunday Roast lunch (which is all they offer on Sundays), which was very nice. Nice friendly staff who are knowledgeable about the beers. Will have to try and pop in on another day of the week as I quite fancied the Steak and Ale Pie.

Disappointingly, my girlfriend and I decided to come to this pub for a bite to eat. This was on Friday at around 13:00. When we arrived, we asked the young lad behind the bar if we could have food menus, and he said they no longer do food as the kitchen was expensive to run. This was really disappointing when I was attracted to this place originally thanks to the recent reviews about how good the food is. Inside, they have a "chef specials" and "burgers" blackboard with nothing written on them. They presumably offer Sunday lunches, but call them and ask before making any trips and avoid any disappointment.

Walked in as the town hall clock and bells struck noon. And they were ready. As a massive Tim Taylor’s fan, this is the Mecca of English ale for me. Especially because it isn’t so easy to get up to Keighley without a car. Every TT beer available on cask here. Amazing. A small, cozy pub and a bit dark, but it was a dreary and rainy Monday. Quiet because the kitchen wasn’t open today and tomorrow (massive bummer). Barkeep was a young guy who seemed to be hungover but was passionate enough about the ales to nearly match my enthusiasm. Every beer was stellar, and I had a pint of every single one (well, the four I hadn’t been able to try yet). Naturally, great views of the town hall even though it was under renovation. Great experience and even better ales.

Very nice pub that serves yummy roasted food and giant Yorkshire puddings. We went in on Saturday noon for lunch on 30th of December and it wasn’t busy at all but t it got busier later. The food was nice and fresh and the ambiance was nice and cosy.

Checked out for Sunday Roast here after arriving from Liverpool - 👏👍choice. The Amstel beer and half pint of Guinness very welcoming for a warm day.

First time at this pub, came here for the food which looks amazing but the kitchen closed at 3 so can’t sample it. Google maps says they serve food now until 7pm so that’s wrong. Will have to come back. No proper cider, thought it may do as it does real ales

Popped in for a welcome break from sightseeing and tried the Tim Taylor's Landlord, Boltmaker and Golden Best beers. All were great, nice calm atmosphere in pub with excellent music choices!

We had an extremely disappointing meal and manager response at LS6 Cafe and will not be returning. We travelled 30 miles to Leeds to have a special Eid family breakfast at this cafe due to the previous excellent reviews. The setting and the service from the staff was very good. We were seated quickly and they turned the (loud) music down upon request. We left a 20% tip for them at the end. Everything else was poor. As you can see from the pictures, the food was of an extremely poor standard. The first time the French toast came it was burnt. The service staff took it away upon request and the second French toast had not been made with egg, it tasted like hard cake and was swimming in syrup. My husband's churros were overdone and barely edible. My daughter's pancakes were also burnt and left swimming in syrup, presumably to mask the taste. Despite being summer there were no fresh fruit served with it. Berries and bananas are very common on pancake orders so I've no idea what the issue was here. The latte was bitter and we left it. The worst part of the experience was the attitude of the manager, an older gentlemen with silvery grey hair. Although he was polite he did nothing to rectify our complaints. Despite showing him the French toast clearly had not been made with egg, he said it was done the night before. He had no answer to us pointing out the burnt food or terrible latte. Normally we would expect the manager to refund the offending items but he took no such steps and we decided not to press the matter and left the cafe with the majority of the food uneaten. We left our usual 20% tip to the wait staff (£50 from a £41.65) as it was not their fault that the food was poor and the manager's response was brusque. The final nail in the coffin was my 6 year old daughter complaining of a tummy ache before we left the cafe due to the poor quality of the food. We are forced to leave 1 star by Google, but we would leave zero stars and will not be coming back. We enclose our photos and receipt as proof. We find Google reviews extremely helpful and would like to reciprocate to warn other potential customers of the issues you may have. Leeds is full of excellent restaurants and cafes, there is no need to put up with subpar food or manager service.

Amazing place!! The food was really amazing and the staffs are very friendly and lively. The cafe environment is fabulous and cool. One of the must places to try in Leeds.

Delicious cooked breakfast and delicious pancakes! Friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. The coffee was tasty and the portions Sizes were generous. We would really recommend - especially the pancakes with blueberries and bananas which left us feeling victorious!

Came here to study during the holidays period, atmosphere is very cheerful and cozy, the staff there are super friendly and good at what they do, had a coffee late and loved the figure they drew on top of it, what I loved the most though, is their dogs policy, you can come with your dog and enjoy your drink, even put a treat bowl infront of the place! TLDR; if you want a cozy place to enjoy a a drink or a bite to eat, definitely recommend it.

We had brunch here and really enjoyed it. We didn't book in advance so were seated at an out-of-the-way high table but the food more than made up for it. The well-seasoned mushrooms were a great addition to the eggs Florentine. Service was efficient even though the place was quite busy.

First visit here today and I can’t believe I’ve left it so long. LS6 reminds me of some of my favourite Melbourne brunch spots, so this was a bit of a treat in the middle of Headingley. Service was friendly, and fast; and the brunch menu is really varied and has lots of modifications for dietary requirements. What I loved most is how easy it was to customise a menu item from the big list off ‘add on items’ - so many places overlook the need to add bacon or halloumi to your bacon or halloumi! The atmosphere has a really nice balance of casual and sophisticated. It’s perfect for a chat with friends in a booth, or there are some quieter tables towards the back. Water is available for every table, not enough places do this In England. Food was very tasty and well presented, though I felt the portioning of some of the items to be on the small side. That said, it was excellent quality and really good value for money. The coffee didn’t rock my world.

We only went here as it was the only cafe in the area open before 10 on a Sunday to soak up the nights before alcohol and was pleasantly surprised. The food was fantastic and reasonably priced, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Plus the music was a bonus, led zeppelin and black sabbath 👌🏻

As I'm from Newcastle I travelled to Leeds for business and was buzzing to find an O'Neills there. Soon as a walked in the guys where amazing and great open space with big screens for sports and could tell was a real buzz around the place , then we looked at the menu and the wing platter was the one we chose absolutely incredible and 3kg platter of wings was a proper topper so yes job well done

Millie, Henry and Mel were so friendly and welcoming as soon as I entered the pub. I ordered an ice cold corona with a lime and this was accompanied with amazing service. Millie was very informative about the menu and let me her favourite dishes. I loved the dirty Tato pops. All the staff were amazing, will defo be back!!! Must go in leeds!!

Lovely food with great choice. Lively pub which allow kids. Staff was really helpful and friendly. Will definitely return next time im in the area.

The staff are super friendly and the place and seats are clean. The drinks were good, but I suggest the food menu may better be reviewed. I think it may be too many choices of food on the weekday menu. As I looked around ,on weekday not many people order food and so it may not keep well. We have ordered the steak and it was not good. Comparatively pizza and the fries are more recommended. I am not sure whether my comment is suitable for other times because we had it on the peaceful day, no match on any sports and nothing special, just a normal weekday.

I called in for a couple of pints and a bite to eat, nice food and friendly staff. Pleasant and quiet atmosphere.

Came for a friends birthday, we got really good deals on drinks between 5-8pm as it was happy hour (Mon to Fri), Amy and Henry served us and they were both so lovely and helpful. Made a very lovely girls birthday special and we will be returning frequently, thank you guys for the great service:)

Five stars all round for the Hop! I had my retirement drinks here last month and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Everyone there enjoyed the evening and they all liked the pies (which I agree were great). There was also a great selection of beers on tap as well as a number of "driver's drinks" so everyone was happy. I've been asked to organise another reunion so we might all even be back later in the year.

Have been here a couple of times now and enjoyed both visits. There's a great selection of beers, particularly the real ales, and food options too. On our last visit I was disappointed that the pies had stopped serving at 7pm so it was a limited menu (better read the small print on the pie menu next time 😭). The food was good though (I had the chicken strips). It's been very quiet (during the week) when I've visited so I'm not sure what the place is like when it gets busy but service was good and plenty of seating choices.

Good pies. Good playlist. Good beer. Walked in for lunch, on the whim of my mum, who was in the mood for pie. We made our choices and the wait was SHORT. I ordered the Rat based lager, which was ace. Everyone else chose a spirit and a pie, because who doesn't enjoy a rum with lunch? Service was quick and pleasant. Pie was hot and delicious. We all appreciated the decent music as well. It's nice to find a place that has the toe-tapping classics for all ages. Thanks, pub.

We attended a surrogacy UK social here last week in half the upstairs area. A shame the toilets are upstairs so it meant the public were in and out of the area all the time. Clean ish loos apart from a water spillage . Nicely decorated . The pie, mash and peas are bloody gorgeous. Well worth the money. Nice views of the surrounding locks, canal boats etc. Music was a bit load for us to be able to talk without having to shout so I came away with a headache but nice for a short visit.

Great food and range of drinks. Have excellent vegan option which looked even better than the meat alternative. About the price you'd expect for such a great location. Lovely staff.

Very good pub in a couple of railway arches under Platform 17 of Leeds Station. Eight cask beers - and 1 cider - on handpump when I visited including a stout. Lots of outdoor seating some of it covered. Busy, but not impossibly so, before the Spurs game at Elland Road.

Ossett and Salts brewery pub. Good spot near the city centre, great staff and very reasonable prices. Good atmosphere and fab beers

Met with friends in Sslon Privè. Had asked for the outer area (nice views and quieter). We were seated in the main bar where the music (not live) was very loud and the drunken group of girls sat next to us were louder still and putting on a show for their social media ! Asked staff to move to the quieter area which we had requested but told it was fully booked. There were empty tables and we were there for one drink as we had reservations in the restaurant. (We explained this to staff). Having paid around £70 for 4 drinks I think it was reasonable to expect to be able to hold a conversation or at least for staff to have made some attempt to make our experience more pleasant…nothing!!

Came here for a friend’s birthday and were immediately refused service for being ‘too drunk’ despite being sober. The manager who passed on the orders refused to speak to us, instead sending other staff who relayed it was ‘a miscommunication’. It’s a shame the manager herself couldn’t clear up the miscommunication personally. Can’t help but feel it was racially motivated as we were treat with absolute contempt and disrespect, despite other patrons visibly drunk and distributive went unchecked.

I went here for my friends birthday and it was amazing. The atmosphere was so great and the staff were so attentive. One of the staff members, Ellie, went out of her way to make sure we had the best experience possible.

My friends and I were treated horribly at this establishment. We were singing along to the songs played before being approached by the waiter who told us we would not be served as we appeared too “drunk” despite being absolutely sober. This was weird to us as we weren’t the only ones singing yet we were the only ones targeted. This was 100% RACIALLY motivated as we were the only multi ethnic group at the place. They even had the audacity to send a mixed race waiter to do their dirty work rather than coming to assess the situation and find out what was going on. They made an assumption straight away and treated us horribly. This clearly is NOT the place to go if you’re looking to have a good time without being racially targeted. THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE and we as customers DO NOT accept this

I'm sorry if the offer of my custom inconvenienced you so greatly that you couldn't find the time to respond and, in acknowledgement of that, will take my birthday celebrations to an establishment that cares.

Unpleasant security. I had a table booked and my friend was already inside. I come up to the entrance and explain that my friend is already in and I'm here to see them. They stare at me like they've never seen a human before and eventually allow me to get in after making a big deal out of it. Guys, this isn't Monte Carlo, we're in Leeds. Get a reality check.

Food was good although my issue was the bun on my burger which turned out burnt. Otherwise it would have been amazing since the chicken patty was juicy enough.The salad was good too.

Really lovely little pub, food was excellent, lots of choice and unusual options. Lady behind behind bar didn't appreciate my really, really bad joke, but that was fair 🤣

Nice, clean, friendly pub with a decent selection of beers and great food. Enjoyed a family Sunday lunch. Each of us had a different option for our Sunday roast; one beef, one gammon and one pork sausage roast. The apple pie and carrot cake desserts were equally nice.

Went to a friend's birthday party last weekend and the staff at The Fox and Newt were amazing! So friendly and accommodating. We had decided to surprise the birthday boy by turning up with our instruments from his old band and gate crash his gig! The staff were all on board with the surprise and worked hard to make the whole event a great success! Shout out to the soundy as well. Thank you all! Xx

Such a gem. We didn't book a table but we were lucky enough to have seats at high chairs. The staff is very friendly, relaxed and chatty. Food is amazing, and if you are struggling to use chopsticks 🥢-don't hesitate and ask for cutlery.(I am absolutely rubbish to use them in public, and would have food all over me ,and possibly other people😂). We had crispy cauliflower, and dumplings for start and both had 🍜 Ramen( that's what we was planning to have). It didn't disappoint! Nom nom nom! We will back when next time visiting Leeds for gig. Went here for lunchtime, the menu is ok, can be better. Mostly pork or chicken, there were other ramen that I would've tried, but it was plant based, unfortunately. The lack of beef dishes was a bit disappointing, and the gyoza's arrived earlier than the main food, we waited for the ramen but came too late so we just went ahead and ate the gyoza otherwise they'd go cold. The original fu ramen was a bit too rich and creamy slightly made me feel sick, so I stopped eating it. Don't get me wrong. The dish is nice but not for me.

Had a lovely meal at House of Fu this afternoon. My partner has some food allergies and the staff made him feel really reassured and informed which meant we could both enjoy our food worry free! It was delicious, the atmosphere was really relaxed, and the staff were lovely! Will definitely dine there again.

We looooove House of Fu. This place is our staple and we come here almost every month. Each ramen is carefully crafted to perfection. Johnny and his level of service is outstanding 👏

Loved the vibe of this place and the cool tiling and general decor/colour scheme. Had a nice mocktail menu and the staff were very attentive, chickened out of trying ramen for the first time but enjoyed the cauliflower rice bowl instead - very generous portions also!

My fav restaurant when I was in Leeds. My go-to was the Original Fu Ramen with added kimchi—as good as the best ramen places I’ve been to in NYC and Japan. The Fu Katsu is also absolutely delicious. Edit: Had the privilege of coming back after a few months and taste new dishes. Highly recommend the shoyu chicken ramen and the kimchi & cheese ramen! Keep being fabulous, House of Fu!

Food was quite nice but service was pretty poor! Staff weren’t particularly friendly and even when the restaurant was closing after lunch, staff were no where to be seen and we were left with empty plates on our table until we finally were able to collar someone to bring us the bill. The ramen and gyozas were very oily and I left with an upset tummy. Probably wouldn’t return

A cozy safe haven for coffee lovers and people who love to support small businesses. Coffee is always on point, with one of the foamiest cappuccinos I've ever had, and breakfast is lush. If you're absolutely starving and need something asap, I'd recommend getting one of their muffins or pastries while you wait. I wouldn't say it's a long wait but good things take time. If you order a full English, expect to wait 10 minutes or so but it will be worth it!!! Trust me - no tinned tomatoes here! Just don't fill up because the full English is huge! For a healthy appetite 😂 (I've come back time and time again for the full English, though I should really give the rest of the menu a try.) Gentleman behind the desk is always kind and ready to crack a joke, very friendly. All are welcome 💕 There's posters by the entrance for a diverse selection of events as well, and the music is always easygoing and timeless. They often have coffee+pastry/cake deals so keep an eye out for that too!

The food was fresh and lovely, and the owner was very kind! I had the chorizo, tomato and Brie toastie it was divine and we also got an all day bfast which was also an amazing portion for the price and was lovely. Will visit again if ever in town again and I would definitely recommend this place, the vibes were great 😊.

I had a breakfast and can say it was 10/10 not greasy like some cafes, I’ve also been for lunch the wonton noodle soup is a must try! It’s a daily sell out for a reason! Can get busy at times so there can be a wait, but it’s always worth it! Very friendly cafe owners!

The owner and staff are very friendly, I went for the all day breakfast. Best full English I have had in leeds for the price. Was £9 for a proper full English with two of everything (toast, hashbrowns, bacon, sausage, egg etc)

We really liked this place. A little bit quirky in a good way. Decent selection of draughts, good music in the background so you can still chat (yes, I'm that old) and friendly staff. Customers of all ages there. We went both nights we were staying in Leeds and would definitely go again.

Went for happy hour drinks. It was really nice that there were options for happy hour wine (not just a single house red/house white as it is some other places). White options were pinot grigio and sauvignon blanc which we were quite pleased about. The grilled cheese was maybe the best sandwich I've ever had! Delicious! Lovely quirky atmosphere too. The music got a little too loud for us as it got later into the evening but that's not really a problem, just preference. Will definitely go back

Fantastic sense of community in here, reminding me of someplace you might find down in Brighton. The customer service was fantastic and laid back, with the man behind the bar giving us a taster of the blueberry cider before we bought any. I can confirm it was very delicious, although I’m not convinced they didn’t sacrifice Papa Smurf to get that vibrant colour.

Walked in at noon just looking for a toilet but we stayed because the vibe was great, the place is beautiful, the alcoholic hot drinks are awesome and the bartender was more than nice to us. Little bit cold but I'm not English so that's understandable

Lovely cocktails, the staff were really friendly and helpful and brought our cocktails to us so we didn't have to wait at the bar. The place wasn't rammed early on a Saturday night, which was great, and the customers were a real mix of ages/groups. Really nice atmosphere

As a wedding photographer I believe that The Faversham is such a brilliant Leeds wedding venue 📸. Known as a Leeds institution for hosting so many amazing gigs over the years (like Radiohead!), they keep the same amount of cool about them for their wedding days too. The conservatory is just stunning and is a photographer's dream with the amount of natural light 😍. It's in a great location and right next to the University if you want some funky portraits. The wedding I shot here went very smoothly and the team were all brilliant. Oh and the food was absolutely banging too - 10/10 pavlova! Would deffo recommend if you're looking for a great Leeds wedding venue 🙌

We used the Faversham for our wedding 2 weeks ago. It was amazing!! Very relaxed feel and party vibes. Everyone had an amazing time and I wish we could do it again!! Jess and the team were amazing, no job too big for these guys. Thank you so much

We had our wedding in February 2023 at The Faversham and I would recommend this venue and the team over and over again. The venue is gorgeous, which means you don’t need to dress it up much for your wedding/event. The location is perfect within walking distance from the centre and handy for people travelling into Leeds.. also free parking on site! The team are so professional and really help you bring everything together.. on our actual wedding day I’ve never seen a team working so hard! Everything went smoothly - Hannah and Jess was incredible! Plus all the staff in catering, bar and everyone else who contributed! we had the best day of our lives and it wouldn’t of been possible without the team! Thankyou so so much! Emma and Ben x

Visited here as a guest at a friends wedding. The venue is amazing and was a beautiful place to celebrate the occasion. The staff were pleasant and were more than happy to help guests. Bar prices are around the average for a wedding bar with lots of choice. Food was delicious and presented well. The size of the location was very good there is a drinking patio leading to a dinning area, there is a separate area for the evening party that has lots of room. Not too far from the centre of town and hotels. Great location.

We had our wedding celebrations at The Faversham a few weeks ago and still smiling thinking about how amazing it was. It simply would not have been so fun, relaxed and special had it not been for the incredible staff and setting of The Faversham. The general manager Jess is one of the kindest, professional and laidback individual working in events I have EVER met and I know better than most what a stressful industry it can be. From the very beginning, she was professional, cool, calm and collected. The venue itself is beautiful, with all of our guests commenting on what a fab place it was. The food was SENSATIONAL. Thank you to the chefs for creating such excellent dishes and cooking everything to perfection. The bar staff were like ninjas, patient, seamless and had a great attitude all day. Thank you :). Everything ran like clockwork and any little hiccups were handled brilliantly and with true warmth. We cannot thank you all enough for making our wedding day so perfect.
