Bar
Skinny Dennis is a down-home, honky-tonk saloon in Williamsburg that offers a unique and quirky experience. The bar features a woody space with live country music, discarded peanut shells on the floor, taxidermied animals on the walls, and eccentric decor like a portrait of Willie Nelson. Guests can relax on vintage seating such as an old Ford F100 pickup bench or church pew while enjoying fun drinks like bourbon mint sweet tea and Willies frozen coffee.
I came here for $6 24oz Budweiser straight from the tap. The country vibes here are unmatched, makes me feel like I stepped into a bar right off of Route 66. They had live music and a packed audience on a Wednesday night. You best believe I’ll be back!
Isaac M — Google review
Always a great time here. The prices are reasonable, the live music adds a fun vibe, and the frozen coffee is a staple that never disappoints. Mixed crowd of all ages. Definitely a go-to spot.
Seth I — Google review
what a VIBE. great live music, reasonably priced drinks and food energy all around. highly recommend trying the frozen coffee drink too :) fun to dance and hang out with friends! great spot to enjoy some day drinks and music!
Colleen C — Google review
Well this is a Williamsburg area surprise. I'll call it the country bar in Brooklyn. A great relaxed vibe during the day and a festive vibe at night often with live music. Great spot to hang and recalibrate that city intensity and grab a beer and warm peanuts. Pricing was average and service was great. Inside and outside seating available with a fun southwestern interior. Get on over there and give em a yeehaw.
Dale T — Google review
My recent visit to Skinny Dennis, located at the intersection of Metropolitan Avenue and Berry Street, was a memorable experience, capturing the essence of a quintessential underground bar. The ambiance of Skinny Dennis is intriguingly dark, creating an intimate and somewhat secretive atmosphere that sets it apart from your average bar. This shadowy setting contributes to its unique charm, making it a great spot for those who appreciate a more subdued and private environment for their evening outings. One of the convenient features of this bar is the availability of an ATM on-site. It's a thoughtful touch that adds to the ease of the experience, especially in a cash-preferred setting. The service at Skinny Dennis was notably good. The staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring that our needs were met promptly and with a smile. Their professionalism and warmth greatly enhanced our overall experience. Skinny Dennis strikes a balance between being a quiet spot to unwind and having a slightly messy, lived-in feel that adds character. This combination gives the bar a unique identity – it's neither too polished nor too rough around the edges, which I found particularly appealing. In conclusion, Skinny Dennis is a fantastic choice for those looking for a good underground bar with a dark, cozy ambiance and excellent service. It's a place that seems to capture the spirit of a hidden gem in the heart of the city.

I honestly wanted to love this place. Inside, everything was awesome — the bartender was super friendly, the drinks were amazing (highly recommend the frozen coffee one!), the band was great, and the vibe was really fun and lively. But the night started off on a really sour note because of the bouncer. Instead of being welcoming, he was rude and condescending. I misheard him, and instead of just clarifying, he decided to shame me and even tried to “teach me how to interact with people.” Not exactly the kind of greeting you want when you’re walking into a bar to have a good time. Thankfully, the bartender and band turned things around and kept the night from being completely ruined. But honestly, the first person you meet at the door shouldn’t make you feel unwelcome. If it weren’t for how great the staff inside were, I probably would’ve left right away.
Kristian D — Google review
Great country bar with amazing atmosphere and ambience. Staff were great and very helpful, loved the drink recommendations too! Highly recommend the bourbon and sweet tea! A must! The live music was great too, maybe just a bit loud... Still I would recommend for a good drink and to relax or be with friends.

Home to the worst bartender in NY. You know the one: Long Hair, Thousand Yard Stare. My friends and I have been patrons of Skinny Dennis & Horses and Divorces for over 7 years, but that era must now come to an end because of this miserable miserable man. Here’s a quick laundry list of his infractions over the years: - charged me for drinks I never ordered - overcharged me for drinks I did order - smoked a cigarette outside H&D at peak hour for a good ten minutes, leaving the bar un attended as dozens of patrons waited to be served - typed away on his phone for 3 minutes as I stood there waiting for a drink Each time I go, I give this man a clean slate and he continues to impress me at how terrible and hostile he is at his job. I see him bark at other unsuspecting customers every time I’m here. I feel like he needs a hug. Here’s the thing. I love this bar when anyone besides him is working. The rest of the crew are stellar, so if you guys could just tell me which days this zombie works, I’ll remain a patron and show up the other days

Bar
Live music venue
Barbès, a lively and bustling bar located just a few blocks away from Prospect Park, was established in 2002 by two French expats. Since its inception, it has become renowned for its diverse array of events, having hosted over 18,000 gatherings. The bar exudes a shabby European charm with scuffed tables and a long wooden bar adorned with red fairy lights.
A place where top-level musicians perform authentic music from various countries and cultures almost every day. You can always count on it—one of the few places in Brooklyn where you can experience truly genuine music. Some performances are weekly, some are not; music schedules are on their website. Plus, the bartenders are nice and fun—it's always a good time!
Yoco Y — Google review
Such a nice quaint place with live music, the staff is incredibly nice, sweet and gracious. Drink drinks could be a little bit stronger, but aren’t too far off. This is definitely a great place come on a Saturday and Sunday and just chill out.
Daniel B — Google review
Some of the best live music programs in the city. Plus all donations go to artists. Reasonably priced drinks, too! Not somewhere you'd get food at. Sound could be a little bit better, tho.
Javier A — Google review
Such a hidden gem that hasn’t changed (in a good way) for the last decade I’ve been going. Intimate, lively, and very mixed music - fave spot in the neighborhood
Lacey S — Google review
I have seen fantastic music in their super intimate (aka, small) back room. Almost any night of the week you can pop in and get exposed to a wide range of live music. Of course, Stephane Wrembel's Sunday night "residency" is one of NYC's hidden treasures. $20 to sit 10 feet from a world renowned, Oscar nominated Jazz guitarist is the best way to end a weekend. It's close to many good restaurants, so you could make a night of it. And it's within blocks of 2 subway stations. Great to go with friends, alone, or a date. A neighborhood treasure.
Jeffrey C — Google review
We had an amazing night there at the 10pm gig (there are many others but this one is free entry). Great music and beautiful old bar :)
Josselin M — Google review
Very fun to stop in the front bar and patio on first and third Saturdays for the cool innovative jazz of the trio Pakula Surprise.
Bobbie L — Google review
Barbes is a small bar that smells a bit funky - perhaps fermenting beer somewhere. It is very narrow and the main hall is dominated by the bar itself with a few seats on the side of the wall. So this is where you start scratching your head, what's all the 5-star reviews about. This is not an "upscale" place. This is a very blue-collar, down-to-earth, grit and grime friendly type of place. You know it's been around, and you know this is not where you dress fancy but rather comfortingly confident. The beer is good, the service is good. And there's generally a good vibe. But so are hundreds of other bars. Then what's the secret? There is a mini music stage behind the bar and it almost feels like you have this massive underground talent that just simply jumps on stage and starts to play amazing music live. The back room fits about 20~30 person tops and some sit in there, others peek from the window or the door, but also, the music flows throughout the bar all the way to the front. On the day I visited, literally the pianist played classical Chopin. Not jazz. Not some rearranged version that is bar-crowd friendly. She just started ripping out Fantasie Impromptu. I have never been at a bar that is run-down, listenining to top notch classical piano, and having an amazing time. Barbes is special. Both for the locals, the musical talent in the city, and for everyone in between.

Cocktail bar
Bar
Restaurant
Clover Club is a cocktail bar located in the Carroll Gardens neighborhood of Brooklyn, offering classic and modern drinks alongside a menu of small plates. The bar aims to bring together locals and visitors alike, with an interior reminiscent of 19th-century NYC saloons. Guests can enjoy creative cocktails like Dear Judy and Succumb To Plum. Additionally, there are private spaces available for gatherings as well as full buyout options for larger events.
I was so excited to finally visit Clover Club and it did not disappoint. Loved their Clover club cocktail as well as the “nice pear”. The kind bartender in the pictures definitely made my experience 10/10. Can’t wait to visit again.
Michael M — Google review
We've had several good meals here so far. Recommended: - Bloody Marys - Any burger - Mac & Cheese w/ smoked bacon (SO GOOD!!!) - Steak tartare - Fried chicken biscuit (or sandwich) - Clover benedict - Breakfast burrito If it's crowded, the structure is such that it can be a bit hard to hear the conversation of those you're with, just fyi. If you're going for just the cocktails/food, or for their live music (certain nights), then go for it!
Loren — Google review
Great spot to grab cocktails in the neighborhood. It gets quite busy on the weekends but there’s a reason why. The inside has a nice dark vibe to in and there’s always good music and loud conversations going on. The cocktails are a bit on the pricey side, especially for the okay quality but the vibe definitely makes up for it. Would recommend if you’re in the area and looking to grab a drink.
Andrew D — Google review
So where do I start? We walked in at 3:55. They told us live music will be for another half hour so we chose our seating based off that. There was no live music after we arrived… they gave us menus as we sat down. Nobody came up to us for another 15 minutes, at which point we were asked what drinks we’d like to order, so we ordered. We tried ordering food as well but were told that the brunch menu is no longer being served. Ok, no problem… we were then given the dinner menus. 5 minutes later she comes back to ask us what drinks we wanted again because she forgot to put them in… and turns out those drinks are no longer being served either. At this point, we were also told that the dinner menu u is not yet being served. We ordered new drinks from the menu that were available. They were initially delivered to the wrong table. It was 4:45 when we finally asked for the bill… then asked again another 5 minutes later… and for a third time another 5 minutes later. Left much hungrier than we arrived, and no longer in a good mood. Pretty ambiance though. Will not be returning. Sevilla across the street was wonderful.
Samantha S — Google review
I never write bad reviews. Until now. My parents are in the industry so no silver spoons here, but this was by far the most uninviting and hostile service I've ever experienced. We went there Saturday to celebrate our engagement with family (don't bother clicking on an event type when rsvp'ing btw, they couldn't possibly care less). It was so bad that we were actually getting a laugh out of it (like "what's next", I think we even had a bet about whether the waitress would roll her eyes on the next rare pass of the table), from "I hate you" attitude right out of the gate to wrong orders... you name it, it was there. There must be a lot of masochist regulars because I have no idea how this place is in business, or has a rating above 2 stars. They even bounced our payments at the end (I tried mine first and then had to ask a friend for help afterwards, which as a newly engaged husband to be trying to pay for his new family is kind of embarrassing, especially with the attitude from the hostess (think slow apathetic vocal fry)). His didn't work either and he thought of calling his bank (chase) because apparently they didn't trust them as a business. My advise would be to keep the bartenders (they seemed nice), and the kitchen staff, (food & drinks were above average for sure, interior design as well), but my god get rid of the waitresses and hostesses on that time slot, they were begging to be anywhere else. But my guess is that there's some "It starts from the top and trickles down" economics at play here or they wouldn't have the nerve to be like that. Avoid this place at all costs unless unless your sitting at the bar, ordering takeout ot just want to wait 40 minutes for a drink in an empty room and feel like a jerk for asking.
Jay H — Google review
Clover Club is one of my favorite spots in Brooklyn. The cocktails are amazing, the food is really good, and the atmosphere is always great. The staff are friendly and know what they’re doing. It’s a perfect place to hang out with friends or grab a drink after work — always a great experience every time I go.
Alex S — Google review
This place hit on all levels. The space is very nice. They also have a beautiful backroom with a fireplace. It's a neighborhood bar but they are very welcoming. The service is amazing. Tav and Gus were very nice and welcoming. The Cocktail Program is one of the best I've seen. I had the Oysters. They were fresh and 😋. The Happy Hour is very good. The prices on items that are not on the HH Menu are reasonable. I have to go back and try some other things on the menu.
Vivianne B — Google review
What a great place! The food and service here are both 5 stars. Our group enjoyed every single part of our meal including the dessert and drinks. The place is on the smaller side but it doesn't feel cramped which is good. They don't accept reservations so it can be a long wait during peak hours. We went off peak and were seated right away thankfully. I can't wait to go back!

Bar
Sunny's Bar in Red Hook is a historic saloon adorned with knickknacks that has been around since the 1890s. Despite facing challenges such as neighborhood changes, legal battles, and damage from Hurricane Sandy, it has stood the test of time. After the passing of its beloved owner, Sunny Balzano, his wife Tone Johansen secured the lease with community support. The bar offers a laid-back atmosphere for daytime drinks and features live music at night and on weekends.
19th-century maritime saloon way out on the edge of Red Hook. The building breathes history and the bar is jumping with killer live music and electric crowds. Strictly cash only as it’s always been, but the drinks are cheap. Multiple counters and outdoor spaces. This bar is a time capsule and I hope it never changes.
Cain — Google review
If you have never been to Red Hook make sure you stop by here and check it out. It’s been around forever and feels like it when you look around. The bartender was super friendly and the drinks are very reasonably priced. There is indoor and outdoor space, so choose your spot to relax and go back in time.
David R — Google review
I had heard this place was legendary. It lives up to the hype. Had a great Old Fashioned, a shot of whiskey and some kind of craft lager. The best thing about this place is the playlist of music. Classic stuff like Neil Young or 60s 70s rock and roll not that garbage hip hop, trance and rap that most places play these days. Go here and have a good time
Dominic C — Google review
One of the best bar atmospheres I’ve ever been in. I love the lights and the decor and the outdoor seating area as well. They make a great and affordable dark and stormy too.
Per S — Google review
If you haven't been to Sunny's yet, you should do what you can to correct that. IF you can go when there is live music, the back room is great. It's NYC's equivalent of a juke joint. Red Hook is like an entirely different part of NYC.
Robert — Google review
It’s old. It’s local. This is the spot. Live music is always on point. Staff is always friendly. Drinks are the right price. I enjoy it every time I go.
Nick K — Google review
Here for a wedding reception. The private event took place on a patio in the back. I enjoyed the bar service and saloon feel that dates back over 130 years
Jes J — Google review
a nice bar to relax and chat at, especially on nights where it's not too busy. (avoid friday, saturday, and sunday nights! unless you're into live bluegrass performances) the bar has an interior that is quite deep and has outdoor seating as well. we appreciated the drinks. they're cash only so make sure to bring enough! prices for drinks were around $10-14.

Event venue
Concerts & Shows
Bar
Located in the Gowanus section of Brooklyn, The Bell House is a former warehouse transformed into a vibrant bar and performance venue. With its vintage wallpaper, old wood beams, and a striking chandelier centerpiece, this quintessentially Brooklyn spot hosts an array of entertainment events but is particularly renowned for its comedy shows. From improv to audience participation and semi-scripted performances, the calendar is filled with hilarious options.
This was one hell of a way to spend an Easter. More appropriate way to spend a 4/20 though. I had been a fan of kaiju big battle during my high school years and forgot about it. Until a random email from stub hub jogged an old memory of foam on foam wrestling. The bell house itself was very well suited for the venue. They have a bar area out in the front when you enter. Then a decent sized event space in the back for the show. It was pretty much only standing room but easy to maneuver for a good view and far from cramped. This was theater of the absurd at its finest. The edibles hit right when they needed to and honestly couldn't imagine a more entertaining night.
Peter ( — Google review
I came here recently for a taxidermy exposition and I had the best time! The staff, particularly Phillip, was so nice and helpful. He even put me in VIP because he liked my outfit! 10/10 will come again.
Jo M — Google review
Saw a comedy show here. Great venue. Good ventilation and layout. They could have had a few more seats for a comedy show. Standing room to watch comedy was a bit brutal, especially considering the ticket prices.
Peter K — Google review
Rustic. Don't expect modern. But this place has character and is a fun venue. Came here for a comedy show and it was a great small, intimate setting. Lots of personality in this old girl. Expect typical high city prices for drinks though.
Phillip H — Google review
Great venue! I’ve loved seeing comedy and music acts here for years. Wonderful staff. Shout out to Phillip, Tamika, and Serge on the security staff— they are incredibly efficient and kind individuals.
Meghan B — Google review
Phillip, the security guard, was top tier! He took care of me and my best friend, & even laughed at me asking for his social security number 😂😂 he was very attentive & gentle! Honestly it was our first time at Bell House & he made it so welcoming that we can’t wait to come back. The bartender, Wyatt, was super sweet & our drinks were tasty. Steven was walking the crowd and taking orders, he was also very helpful & friendly. Oscar, from the front bar, was super fun & engaging. We came for the dysfunctional friends tour & although the show was great, the staff at the venue made it even better. I can’t wait to come back!
Ayana B — Google review
My friends and I had just got off a bus from Boston for a show and were running late, so what was left was standing room only. We were resigned to it but Philip saved our feet and hooked us up with some seats. I’ve been to the Bell House a few times before and my experience there gets better every time! Shoutout to all the security and staff (especially Philip), y’all make it a great place to come to.
Olivia F — Google review
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I had such a great time at The Bell House! From the moment I walked in, the staff treated me so well. Philip, the security guard, went above and beyond—he helped me pick the best seats, let me save one for my friend, and even made sure people stepped aside so I didn’t have to worry about a thing. Super kind and professional. At the bar, everyone was just as amazing. I wasn’t sure about the difference between a lager and an IPA, and they happily let me sample both before choosing. The staff at the bar and snack bar were friendly, helpful, and even respectfully complimented my outfit—which honestly made my night. Also, bottomless popcorn. Yes, bottomless popcorn. I went to see A Drinking Game and it was hilarious—great improv, really funny performances, and just an all-around fantastic vibe. 10/10 experience. Highly recommend!

Union Pool is a popular bar located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, set in a former pool supply store. The venue offers various entertainment options including live music and a taco truck in the backyard. The main bar features a black-and-white photo booth and pinball machine, while the back room serves as a music venue. Additionally, there is a patio area where guests can enjoy drinks from the taco truck. Union Pool hosts guest DJs and theme nights, such as the Halloween costume contest.
Underground music, a way to discover what New Yorkers really experience. Friendly staff, fast food, beer, and soft drinks. Easy location, enclosed terrace-style area with benches.

Been here twice hoping things would improve, but it’s still the same. Great venue, nice ambiance with amazing bands, but the bartender is a disaster—an overgrown, tattooed tough guy wannabe. Rude, entitled, and quick to scare off customers. Tips are appreciated, not a ransom especially for tourists who may not know local customs. Refusing to serve people isn’t just unprofessional, it's pathetic.

Cool hipstery Williamsburg beer garden vibe with lots of space, a taco truck, and a music venue/club area. Supposedly the building used to be a pool supply store, which is reflected in the theming.

Such great fun! We went to see The Reverend and it did not disappoint. The concert venue is fantastic and the outdoor area is great for conversation. Didn't eat so I wouldn't know about the food. Would give it 5 stars except that I heard a bartender say to a group of tourists "if you don't tip we'll stop serving you". Ouch. Never heard of a place that demands tips and refuses service if they don't get it.

A very expansive place. They have the main bar area, with a photo booth, pinball machine, and a good amount of seating. I also saw a DJ. There is then an outdoor garden area with another bar, taco truck and tons of seating and aesthetic ambiance. Then there is the music venue, for the night I went tickets to the show were $20. Overall, good experience, reasonably priced drinks compared to the location.

Such a fun bar in Brooklyn. Live music with outdoor seating and a taco truck. If you come on Sundays you may get to meet a very legendary bartender! 🤫

We haven’t been in Brooklyn for six years and we were very surprised how everything changed in this part of it. The alternative scene nearly disappeared and it’s becoming extremely posh. The only bar which remained the same is Union Pool. We had a very nice evening, listened to a DJ and had many beers.

Baby's All Right is a popular haunt in Williamsburg known for its live music, gourmet bar fare, and creative drinks. It has become a go-to spot for both local bands and touring acts, with a stage lit by a unique wall made of ashtrays. The venue has hosted secret shows from artists like Blood Orange and afterparties for bands like The Strokes.
Awesome venue, super fun parties, great priced drink specials ($13 for a decently strong cocktail), super friendly staff. And it is WAY bigger than it seems! This video is just of the dancefloor but there's also plenty of seating (which you dont have to buy a table for!!!). This is my new favorite venue in all of NYC, every time I go I have a great time.

How do I begin. Maybe with the massive flood light that was blasted on the dance floor all night. If you’re looking for a sobering awkward dance experience this place is for you. You wanna see all your friends pores this the place for you. I tried to help but was met by this weird manager lady in an awkwardly awful striped shirt telling me if I don’t like it I could leave. Whatever it ain’t that serious I was there for a friend. But when I saw other people pointing it out we got 36 people on this tiny dance floor to sign a petition to turn it off, she decided to throw me out. I don’t blame the light/stage tech, they were gorgeous, or the security they were very sweet, but the manager clearly doesn’t get out much. I hope she reflects on this moment to understand the experience of dancing under a floodlight while having a late night out with friends, and understands that instead of being stubborn maybe just turn the light off lovey. It’s not that difficult. It wasn’t me getting people into it, as she claimed, but people coming together as a dance floor/customers to point it out as bad vibes. Doing tooooo much to curate awful vibes in some weird fit too. ANYWAYS IF YOU LIKE FLOODLIGHTS THIS THE PLACE TO BE.. But all us normal people will be elsewhere.

Honestly one of my favorite venues. The lighting ISN’T blinding because it’s a beautiful array of lightbulbs on a wall plus some stage lights that never blind the audience. The artists are amazing, everyone is permitted their own instruments and the stage feels like it’s RIGHT there. The atmosphere is amazing. Staff looks and acts amazing too. My only grievance is the place was packed to the BRIM! Once the concert was over, getting to the merch table wasn’t even a line it was a packed, hot, sweaty, blob.

Decent spot for a boogie. At Indie Night they played Kanye and Billie Eilish so it wasn’t so indie. Average age was probably 27. The GM and tonics were good!

DO NOT GO FOR A LIVE MUSIC ACT. The sound system blows! The setup is more like a bar with live music playing in the background than the other way round. PS: Nothing wrong with the service or drinks etc, it’s just not the best place to go specifically for a DJ set.

Absolutely blown away by the Trinix show! The music was incredible, and the venue handled the sold-out crowd flawlessly. Huge shoutout to the bartenders – they were super nice and kept everyone served quickly. A perfect night!

I really want to love this place but it’s been hit or miss. The first live music show I went to here was great, no complaints. But the most recent one was 50 minutes late for doors, then there was another 40 minute wait between bands. It was a little ridiculous, especially for a show that was already scheduled for a late night time slot.

Saint Vitus Bar is a darkly lit music venue and bar located at the northern end of Greenpoint. It was once a plumbing school near Newtown Creek and has been hosting metal, hardcore, and industrial music acts since 2011. The owners have created a neighborhood meeting place and first-class music venue that happens to book heavy metal acts.
My first concert was here and it was so much fun, the venue is meant for smaller bands, nice polite staff there, and the place is very scenic. People there were polite too, when i moshed and fell people quickly rummaged through each other to try to help me up, i was back on my feet in no time.

cool little satanist bar in Brooklyn. the door is unmarked except for a sticker, no signage, not much security either, and pretty simple one floor layout. it has essentially three bathrooms; one has urinals and a toilet, the other has just a toilet, and the third is urinal with a toilet. once you go in, you go through a long hallway and walk to the right to face the bar, and to the left further down is the stage. It's essentially all one hallway. it was an interesting visit. a bit of an older, tamer crowd, but sound system was intense. i liked the sigil in the background of the stage and how it essentially changed colors when the different lights would hit it.
Mira C — Google review
Very cool atmosphere for a bar and to see a show!! Although would recommend changing bathrooms to be gender neutral! There’s an assigned bathroom for “gentleman” and the other just says “restroom” think that could be an easy fix to make them both gender neutral but otherwise cool place.
Sera S — Google review
This was my first time at the iconic bar for a concert and I had a fab time. The music was great. The venue was great. The people were great. Def worth keeping up with their events schedule for an OPP sometime that works for you.

This bar is basically like a heavy metal "speakeasy". You have to know where it is, there's no sign outside that makes it clear. What does makes it clear, is the music coming out when they're having a show, also the door might be open. Otherwise, when an event/show is not happening, you cannot tell it's there. The staff is very helpful, and the sound system is really good. We've seen some amazing bands there, and I highly recommend more bands play there. I hope this place stays for a long time. It's a great venue.
Allison S — Google review
I've been going to metal shows since 2008 and this bar since 2012. Throughout the years and various venues I've been to, this is without a doubt one of or my absolute favorite venue for metal shows. It's pretty easy to get to the area, but there's a 10-15 minute hike from the train station to the bar. You can take a bus, but it's easier to rely on your own two feet than an MTA bus. I mainly come here for the live music, but the bar itself is still good when it comes to just hanging out/drinking. They usually have specials on drinks, so you can get a good buzz going without having to spend a ton of money. In regards to the actual venue space, it's great. It's very intimate and there's no guardrail, so you can get up close and personal with the bands as they play. Thanks to that, you can also chat or even drink with the band members before or after a show. Seeing as how this is a pretty small venue space, things can get pretty hectic due to moshers and crowd surfers. As long as you're aware of things, you'll be good. Like I said, I've been coming to this bar for nearly 8 years and as long as they keep hosting good and affordable metal shows, I'll keep coming.

This is my kinda music venue...dark rock 'n roll with a gothic-like, old-school NYC bar. Have seen many different varieties of bands here...that are good...with talent. Helps satiate an ol' musician like myself. Keep up the good work...this is a must see in Brooklyn!

Awesome little venue with lots of personality. Came for Magic Sword and almost missed the place since there's no signs, but once inside had a blast. Love the ambiance. Having the band walk through the crowd to the stage was also a nice touch (no backstage). Such a personal performance!!🤘

LunÀtico is a vibrant and trendy hangout located in Bed-Stuy, offering a unique blend of cocktails, Italian small plates, and live music performances. Founded by musicians Richard Julian, Arthur Kell, and Rosita Kess in 2014, it has evolved into a charming venue with an eclectic atmosphere. The owners aimed to combine the sophistication of cocktail bars with the funkiness of their favorite music spots.
I went to LunÁtico to see Lawrence Fields perform and the whole experience was great. Staff is super friendly and they do a good job making sure everyone is taking care of. The drinks we had was the Cubano Negroni, Shame Spiral no.1, and Ting Ting. Each drink was unique and delicious i like the Cubano Negroni the most i loved to hint of espresso and the Olive Oil Cake is also delicious!!!. Lawrence Fields put on a dope performance and i can't wait to checkout more artists in the future. I highly recommend LunÁtico to anyone who love Music, Drinks and having a good time.

COME EARLY FOR THEIR MUSIC NIGHTS! It is such a cozy and small place that can only accommodate so many people. First set starts at 9, but most definitely arrive by 8:15! Second set is around 10:30pm, so most definitely come by 9:30 as they sit people usually at 10pm! They do not have a cover fee, so please get yourself some hummus / foccacia or drinks! Be sure to also bring some cash to tip performers to keep the music culture alive and show your support. I never got her name, but this lovely queen w/ a blue bandana that was the hostess for that night told my boyfriend and I to sit under the awning since we couldn’t make it in time for the first set. Thank you! Awesome date night spot.

This place has live music later in the evening and a really nice and chill vibe before then. First time here my wife and had a few cocktails off of the menu. Been a regular here for over 5 years. The food has always been decidedly average, drinks good and music great. Unfortunately, I think they've been a victim of their own success, in that when it gets very busy things take super long (which is natural) but sometimes it can take an extraordinary long time to get a drink and bar staff could be more attentive. However, it remains a great place for live music!

Loved my visit. The musical act was amazing and the service was superb. One thing to be aware of due to the popularity of the place is to make sure you get there early enough to have a meal while the musical acts are on so you’ll have a seat as opposed to standing room only. Love!

Westlight is a rooftop bar located on the 22nd floor of the William Vale hotel in Brooklyn. It stands out with its sleek architecture and offers stunning panoramic views of both Williamsburg and the Manhattan skyline. The bar, created by Chef Andrew Carmellini, boasts an impressive menu of craft cocktails and delicious food. The NoHo hospitality group ensures that every drink and bite has both a story and excellent quality.
Went to Westlight in Brooklyn and was absolutely blown away. This spot is stunning — the panoramic views of the NYC skyline at sunset are unbeatable. The vibe is upscale but relaxed, and it’s the perfect place to take in the city from above. We only had drinks this time, but everything was well-made and the service was smooth. No complaints at all. It’s definitely a place you go to for both the atmosphere and the experience. Can’t wait to come back and try the food — I’ll update the review once we do! Highly recommend if you’re looking for a beautiful rooftop bar with breathtaking views.

Awesome bar with an amazing view of Manhattan! Food and drinks were better than expected. While the atmosphere is impeccable, I’m taking off one star for the following reasons: - We had a reservation but still waited about 25 minutes to be seated. A simple “sorry for the wait” would have been appreciated. - Shortly after we were finally seated, a woman came over and accused us of taking the wrong table—as if we had seated ourselves. When we told her we were shown to the table, she asked who had seated us… um, the hostess? In fact, while we were waiting, the hostess mentioned that our indoor table was by an open window and would feel like we were outdoors. The table we were seated at matched that exact description, so I had just mentioned to the hostess that her description was spot on. Even if we were mistakenly seated at the wrong table, shouldn’t the staff communicate and resolve the issue internally instead of confronting and accusing guests? I’m not sure who this woman was, but she was quite rude. She never came back to apologize for the confusion. Our server was nice; however, he forgot to bring a water bowl for our dog (this place/hotel is dog-friendly), even after we asked for one. We didn’t bother asking again. But a staff member who was cleaning our table noticed we had a dog and kindly offered to bring a water bowl, which we appreciated. Note that there are two separate lines for the elevators—one for reservations and another for walk-ins. This was not clearly indicated. The doorman (I think?) simply asks if you’re going to Westlight and then points you to the walk-in line when you say yes, so we initially waited in the wrong line.

This place never disappoints even if you're visiting just for drinks or after dinner. The views are probably one of the best in NYC. The top terrace with couches is a nice touch because it offers sitting area even if you're not booking a table. Its tough getting through the crowd in order to get to the bar but it's manageable. Diverse selection of mixed drinks including some draft beers. Must visit if you're in the area.

I had the most magical evening at Westlight on October 6, 2025, with my best friend. 🌇✨ I made the reservation a month in advance, and it was so worth it — they gave us a beautiful outdoor table with the perfect view of the sunset and city skyline. As the sky turned pink and gold, it felt like the whole city was glowing just for us. 🌆 The beef burger was amazing, juicy and flavorful, and the cocktails were not only delicious but also so pretty! 🍸 After dinner, we moved indoors and sat near a lovely couple who were also celebrating a birthday. We ended up buying them a little photo and an ice cream dessert — it even came with a cute sparkler! 🎂 We all exchanged birthday wishes across the tables and laughed together. It felt like pure joy shared between strangers. The staff were incredibly kind. They gave us free hot water and let us stay to talk for hours. Just before we left, Natalie (I think she was the manager) came over and surprised us with a postcard that said “Happy Birthday” and “Welcome to NYC!” with the Westlight logo. My friend was so touched — she couldn’t stop smiling. 💖 Last year, her birthday wasn’t the happiest, but this year, thanks to Westlight, it became truly unforgettable. Thank you for making our night so warm and special. We’ll definitely be back — and next time, I’m leaving an even bigger tip! 💫

I was looking for a bar with a beautiful view and it did not disappoint! I don’t remember the name of the cocktail, but it had blueberry and basil — one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. The snacks were tasty, and the service was friendly. I’m absolutely thrilled with this place!

The scenery is absolutely stunning. If you’re coming here to take beautiful photos or enjoy the night view, this place is definitely worth it. But if you’re looking for great food, it might not be the best choice. The prices are moderate—not cheap, but not too expensive either. It’s definitely a great spot for dates or gatherings. The photo shows what I ordered when I went there—everything was quite good except for the Coke. Maybe it’s just because I don’t like flavored Coke, but honestly, it tasted terrible. P.S. I recommend sitting indoors during spring, autumn and winter. You can step outside to take some photos, but don’t eat out there. The wind was so strong when I went that my food got cold right after it was served. Overall, though, I’d still highly recommend this place.

Westlight is an absolute top 5 pick for best rooftop restaurant in NYC. With breathtaking views, delicious small plates, unique drinks, and one of the largest rooftop spaces you'll find in the 5 boroughs, Westlight is easily one of the best rooftop spots that you can find in NYC. The food was flavorful and appetizing, especially the jerk oxtail sliders!! To top it all off, the staff was simply amazing. Every single employee I encountered was not only courteous, attentive and knowledgeable, but just all-round wonderful people. And as if the glass-enclosed and terrace dining areas weren't great enough, they have a large open lawn a level above, that offers completely unobstructed views from all angles. Westlight is definitely a new addition to my favorites, and I'm eager to visit again soon!!

If you can find a better sunset view in Brooklyn, I would be shocked! If you want to sit outside, be sure to make reservations as they will not let you hang out outside and crowd the people who do have reservations. The drinks were on point, and we only snacked on some empanadas, and those were outstanding

Great place to see a good band. Staff was nice, liquor was real and the space is unique. Saw Matteo Mancuso and his band. If you can, arrive in the area around 4 or 5 pm there will be plenty of on street parking. If you get there later youll have to park in a garage and pay to do so. Plenty of restaurants in the area. So, arrive early go eat something then go to the show.

A really awesome live venue. First time there recently and had a blast. The staff are the kindest. Providing water during the show, taking trash from people in the crowd as it was needed. Overall really cool atmosphere and I couldn't help but notice the padding they've added to the ceiling (that is cement), to help with sound and whatnot. Really well done. Highly recommend.

The actual show was incredible. I saw Matteo Mancuso, one of my all time favorites. The venue is very cool and unique - bowling, plus a huge bar, and a stage behind the bowling lanes. I initially thought the people bowling in the background during the show would be loud and distracting, but it's not. The staff was polite, and had a decent beer selection.. dogfish head 60 minute is solid. The show was on a Wednesday, and I was first in line, so no long waiting (other than being 2.5 hours early to claim the best standing area). But totally worth it.

Honestly had a really fun time here. The lanes were solid, everything worked fine, and the vibe was chill. It got a little loud at some point, but nothing too crazy — kind of adds to the energy. We waited a bit to get our lane, but once we started, it flowed smoothly. Staff was cool, and prices were decent too. Would I come back? Yes, for sure. Jazz club
The Village Vanguard, located in Greenwich Village, is a historic jazz club that has been open since 1935. It gained fame for its exclusive jazz program starting in 1957 and has since recorded over 100 jazz albums featuring legendary artists like John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins, and Bill Evans. The club offers weeklong engagements to its artists from Tuesday through Sunday.
To me The Village Vanguard is the best jazz club of the world and the times I visited I was so excited because of the history, the acoustics and the atmosphere. It’s about jazz music only at the VV. No food is served and that is totally fine. Coltrane, Rollins, Bill Evans were here and recorded some of their best albums. A place to treasure and love and to come to over and over again. Must visit for everyone into jazz. Love this place!

Was very excited to listen to high quality music at this historical venue but it didn't meet my expectations. It seemed like the house band takes advantage of their reputation and puts bare minimum effort. Didn't receive any energy from the band and found the performance absolutely unenthusiastic (except the double bass player who was great!). Perhaps trying something other than the house band performance could be better.

Maybe the most famous jazz bar in the world. This is all about the music. The very best artist play here, typically for a six night stand. On Monday nights is the Vanguard Jazz Orchestra. The band is made up of working musicians, many of them all stars themselves, who come together to play big band music on Monday nights. No food. Basic drinks at a fair nyc price. Service is polite and relatively speedy.

So excited to come and experience this famous NYC jazz club. It is everything it advertises itself to be: classic music, classic atmosphere, iconic history, and a can’t miss jazz club if you are trying to find the best NYC has to offer. There are 4-5 others I would put up there with Village Vanguard, but then again, there are ZERO jazz clubs n the world that I know of that come close to NYC’s top 5. Kind of mind-blowing that there is such a concentration of the best jazz in the world. But that’s why I come.

We had tickets to the 10 PM Monday show and were able to get inside around 9:30-9:45. You are required to buy one drink per ticket. Overall, the show was enjoyable but very crammed inside. For true lovers of jazz, this is a great place to come. If you are looking for a less formal/sociable atmosphere, this may not be the place to come. The musicians were phenomenal and we are glad we came but I likely wouldn’t go back.

A true gem for jazz lovers. We had a surreal experience—without realizing it, we walked into a sold-out John Zorn show, and thanks to the staff’s kindness, we got two seats and had an unforgettable night. The band was incredible, the vibe authentic and intimate—no phones, no photos, just pure jazz. Drinks were just good and also pricey, but the atmosphere was electric, and the staff made us feel truly welcome. The only downside: $50 for a 45-minute set felt steep, especially when the artist skipped the encore and told fans to buy a ticket for another night instead. Still, that’s on the artist, not the club. Huge thanks to the staff for making us part of such a special night.

We visited on a Saturday evening for the 10.30 pm show. There wasn’t any wait, we bought the tickets on the spot and we were seated immediately. We are not much into jazz music though we wanted to experience it once. The total performance was for about 90 minutes. We enjoyed our evening. Other than the ticket price there is also a $20 minimum spend cap on food and drinks that is required per person. We had chicken wings and grilled chicken. The food was great, friendly servers and the audience was lovely. Overall a good experience.

Finally visited Blue Note and it felt like a lifetime achievement. It’s always meaningful visiting a jazz club with a historical relevance. Given it’s a jazz club, the space was compact. The drinks were better than expected and I would recommend the Tokyo Twist. The ticket instructions indicated the door opens at 6, but they didn’t seat us until 6:30, which was a bit strange. Regardless, it feels amazing seeing one of your favorite artists in a place none other than Blue Note. Overall, it was a memorable experience.

I had always dreamed of experiencing live jazz in New York — and here’s a club that’s been hosting these nights for almost 50 years. But don’t expect a Great Gatsby vibe. The crowd is casual — T-shirts, sportswear, no dress code. The seating is tight, and the servers are quick and efficient, balancing order-taking and payments with practiced speed — they aim to maximize turnover since there are two shows that evening. The band was on fire. A great mix of instruments and a fun, engaging group. The one-hour set flew by in what felt like minutes. As for the food — not really worth mentioning. Classic American hits just to have a bite while you listen. A real slice of NYC jazz — not glamorous, but full of energy and heart.

The best night of my life!!!! I will never forget the evening of Sep 25th 2025. Thank you for Charlie Puth for choosing this venue. Genius. Staff, Ambiance, Food 10 out of 10. Yes the seating is very tight but when the music starts, you forget and appreciate being so close to your all time favorite artist ever !! 🥰

My partner and I visited for the Wyclef performance. While the show itself was absolutely incredible — a true 10/10 — the dining experience left room for improvement. Most of the prime tables were reserved for Wyclef’s friends and family, leaving the general audience with less desirable seating. On top of that, another party of four was seated at our table, which felt far from intimate, though fortunately they were friendly and we enjoyed their company. The restroom was surprisingly cramped given the size of the venue. As for the food and drinks, they did not meet expectations. My partner ordered the chicken and shrimp Alfredo, which lacked seasoning and flavor. I would recommend sticking to a simpler menu option, such as a burger, and keeping drinks basic as well. On a positive note, our waitress was very kind and attentive, which I truly appreciated. Overall, while the concert itself was phenomenal, the restaurant side of the experience could use some refinement.

Group of three. We ordered calamari, flourless cake with ice cream and fried chicken sandwich. The reviews were a bit mixed on the food. The calamari was okay, the fried chicken sandwich was “decent” and I guess the star of the show was the flourless chocolate cake with ice cream. I would say it was a perfect end to the night. Nothing really stood out in terms of flavor and expect to pay higher places at a staple jazz place such as The Blue Note. The seating was very intimate and a bit cramped. But the performance of the night and the vibes are what draws the crowd. Bring your wallet and good vibes.
R M — Google review
First time going and the atmosphere is so sexy. You have to get there when the doors open to get a good seat. Do show up right b4 the show starts or when the show already begun. The food is okay. Nothing to have you saying im going for the food. I had the calamari the the pasta with chicken. I had better Alfredo. The seating is very tight depending on where you are seated. You will be placed at an available table with other ppl. I didn't drink but they had Saratoga water. The performance was amazing. Also the bathroom is very small. Don't wait to the end of the show to go. The line is long for the ladies room. Otherwise its a great place for a date or even if your a jazz fan. A sexy vibe with others who enjoys the music. Lastly if you have kids they can go. I was surprised to see children there but it was still a vibe.

Birdland Jazz Club is a classic theater district establishment with spacious red interiors, a large bar, and Cajun-influenced cuisine. The original club opened in 1949 and hosted legendary jazz musicians like Charlie Parker, Dizzy Gillespie, Thelonious Monk, Miles Davis, and many others. After relocating to its current Midtown location in 1986, Birdland continues to attract modern-day jazz greats as well as fans and musicians from around the world.
Amazing experience! Saw a big band play. Loved every minute of it! You can order a full dinner while you’re there plus drinks. Huge portions but a bit heavy. But hey, you’re there for the music right? Service was pretty good - coming by between sets. Definitely worth making the effort to stop by. Decent bathrooms.

We had an amazing evening at this jazz club! The atmosphere was vibrant yet cozy, with incredible live music that set the perfect tone for the night. The musicians were extremely talented and kept the crowd entertained from start to finish. Dinner was just pretty tasty—we had lasagna and Cajun jambalaya. The service was excellent too: friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience seamless. It’s not easy to find a place that combines great food, top-notch live music, and a welcoming vibe, but this spot does it all. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a fun and memorable night out!

Incredible live jazz with classic New York vibes Birdland Jazz Club delivers an amazing performance — the musicianship and energy are top-notch, making it a must-visit for jazz lovers. The atmosphere is classic and intimate, though seating is first-come, first-served, so arrive early if you want the best spot. Book your tickets in advance, as shows can sell out. There is a $20 per person minimum spend on top of the ticket price, and while the food and drinks are okay, the real highlight is unquestionably the music. The crowd adds to the lively, authentic New York jazz experience. world-class performances in a quintessential jazz setting.

Such a wonderful place with great vibes and tasty food. The live performance by the drummer, pianist, and double bassist was fantastic! I left my clothes there by mistake, and even though they were busy, a kind lady took the time during the performance break to find them for me. I really appreciated her kindness. I’d love to come back again someday.

Booked a table for dinner at Monday night's Cast Party - it was phenomenal!!! The show began a little slowly, but before I could second guess my decision to go, I was awed by the magnificent talent which appeared one after another. The host, Jim Caruso, was a hoot; and the jazz band backing up all the performers were outstanding themselves.

My experience at Birdland was nothing short of beautiful. I attended with my friend to celebrate my birthday and we didn’t have reservations. We were still able to snag great seats and enjoy the show. I got lost in the music, closed my eyes and was transported into another place. I would absolutely recommend a visit here whenever you’re in the city.

Finally had the opportunity to see Emmet Cohen perform at Birdland Jazz Club. The club is noticeably more spacious than other jazz clubs, which was a pleasant surprise. Also, if you can arrive early, you get to see some of the greatest talents perform literally a few steps away from the stage. Cocktails were a little watered down, but met expectations for a jazz club. Nothing too fancy. The one other thing I loved about Birdland was the ambience. The interior felt authentic and genuine.

What a spectacular place. It's sophisticated, seeped in historic charm and incredibly fun. We had the pleasure of watching the afro latin jazz orchestra on May 18th led by Arturo O'Farrill. He told warm stories and they performed beautiful music that melted into the atmosphere, making for a perfectly romantic night, emotional and surreal. We started with spicy palomas and dinner itself was amazing. We had quaint meatballs that didn't try to be anything but their delicious selves, a generously portioned spinach goat cheese salad and the fried chicken. All dishes were delicious and served in a timely manner. It all felt comforting and classic. Our server, Julie, connected with us about where we were from and asked questions after the band that made us feel special on our first night in New York. We would absolutely love to be back.

Radegast Hall & Biergarten is a lively and expansive beer hall that serves up a great selection of brews, schnitzel, and live music. It's known as a social hub in the city, where strangers easily become friends. The restaurant section offers a full German menu while the beer hall section allows you to order wursts, kraut, and fries at your leisure. This indoor-outdoor beer garden is always buzzing with activity and features frequent live bands for entertainment.
We were in Brooklyn for just 4 days and went here twice. First time we had already eaten but the food looked so good we went back. Great vibe and even more amazing staff. Great beers on tap. We have been to Belgium and have also had our fair share of German beers on tap but this place has ones we have never seen on tap at least in the US. The servers know their beer which was awesome. Also there were no kids and apparently there are days where they don’t allow kids. When we are drinking beer we appreciate this. Would highly recommend this place
Holly I — Google review
First time eating here. I love the covered outdoor dining hall area! Our waitstaff was new and it was rare that they stopped by the table to check on our needs. The grill staff was not readily available when one of us wanted to place an order. Food was good overall. The atmosphere is a winner. I would cone back and try again.

A gregarious fun venue with plenty of tables & long benches both inside and outside for large groups, a few small tables & chairs for small groups. Good variety of authentic Bavarian German Biers & Grilled Wursts, sausages, in addition to other menu items. Get the Giant pretzel 🥨 with yummy beer cheese dip. 🥨 🍺 Darkly lit, Loud, Live Band 🎶🎸, Good times! Prost!! 🍻 🍻 🎊🇩🇪

We have been to Radegast hall with friends for the first time. Much European vibe. Among very few places you may find weissbier/unfiltered wheat beer, and almost felt as I was at a bier house in munich. Has indoor and outdoor seating. Good food, I recommend pretsel with bier chese and sausages, bier is more reasonable by pitcher. I chıse Fransiskaner white beer, one of my favorites. There was also live jazz music indoors, also audible from outdoor seatings. I recommend here

Sean & the Radegast team, Thank you so much for an amazing night. You truly executed the vision and surpassed any expectations we had. All of my guests had compliments on the food, cocktails, and of course the huge selection of beer! The atmosphere was nothing like any other wedding guests had been to. It was intimate, fun, and romantic. 💗
Vanessa S — Google review
This is a great place to hang out and have a meal with friends. You can try a variety of dishes and sausages — their sausages are excellent, and the beer is refreshing. The other food is also quite good. The only downside is that it’s more like a self-service restaurant, as there aren’t many waitstaff, and you have to go to a separate counter to order the sausages.
F T — Google review
Food was pretty good, currywurst was my favorite, but service was very lacking the night we went. Waitress disappeared and never took our food order, had to track down someone. Beer took really long to come out. They were playing very loud Latin music, which is an odd choice for a German beer hall. May have just been an off day
Colby R — Google review
Cool place. The difference between the grill menu at the stand and the full menu via table service isn't outlined anywhere and without speaking to wait staff, you'd never understand that, which is very strange from a server's perspective.

City Winery New York City, located at Hudson River Park, offers a delightful combination of delectable food, exquisite wine selection, and breathtaking views. The venue features two stages that host an impressive lineup of live music and comedy performances. Visitors can indulge in the revamped winter menu which includes enticing dishes like mission fig pizza, seared scallops, hot honey pizza, raspberry chipotle wings, and more.
Great experience! Food was decent. Service was excellent. Fay, our server, was warm, friendly and attentive. The cost of the performance was quite reasonable. The venue lends to a very intimate experience and any seat gives you a great view, though we did get seats immediately next to the stage. It’s a great place for a date, family, or group experience. Definitely recommend it.

Attending Late Development presents Jamz & Conversation: Featuring Jimmy Jam at City Winery was nothing short of legendary. To witness Jimmy Jam up close and personal, sharing his journey and musical genius firsthand, was an unforgettable experience. The conversation felt like history unfolding right before us — every story, every reflection carried the weight of his unmatched impact on music. The night reached another level with the surprise pop-up guest artists, who added unforgettable magic and showed just how far Jimmy’s influence stretches across generations and genres. This was more than an event — it was a masterclass in Black musical excellence, culture, and legacy. City Winery provided the perfect intimate stage to experience it all. One area for improvement would be the featured wine selection: with an audience made up primarily of women, the pairing could have leaned into a rich, bold red that appeals broadly but especially to women, and a second option offering a crisp, fruit-forward white like a Sauvignon Blanc. That thoughtful touch would have elevated the experience even further. Truly, this was an epic celebration of artistry, history, and genius that will stay with me forever. If you ever get the chance to attend Jamz & Conversation with Jimmy Jam — do not miss it. Legendary! I am looking forward to the next event presented by Late Development!!!!
ACruzan — Google review
Beautiful versatile venue. Entering through the front of the establishment, you won't immediately see their event space, just the storefront of the winery. It's a good size, well staffed with attentive servers, with a conveniently situated bar area, and picturesque. It could benefit from having additional restrooms on that level. I was advised there are others though. Overall, we had a great time at the event we attended here.

We had a fantastic experience at City Winery New York yesterday! First off, the customer service was outstanding — a huge shoutout to Marisa, who was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and made our visit feel truly special. The views from the venue are absolutely stunning — the perfect backdrop for a relaxing afternoon or a fun night out. We enjoyed sipping on their fantastic Riesling, crisp and refreshing, and a local hazy IPA that hit all the right notes for craft beer lovers. They also have some amazing cocktails which was kind of surprising to us considering we just expected a ton wine. The Golden hour and Good luck babe were our favorite cocktails! I also can’t say enough about the chocolate mousse dessert — it was a 12 out of 10! So soft and delicious!! That itself is a reason to come back!

Was there on Sat 10/18 to see comedian Brad Upton in The Loft. Great venue, right on the water at Pier 57. We had dinner during the comedy show and the Chop Chop Salad was easily the best salad I've ever had! The wings we had as an appetizer were tasty, but were surprisingly VERY spicy. Drinks were good and prices seemed to be in line with other NYC restaurants nowadays. The bar and dining room downstairs looked like nice spots too. Will definitely return!

My husband and I came from Rhode Island to see my favorite podcast (Beach Too Sandy Water Too Wet) live. Buying tickets online was easy and we pre-ordered a bottle of wine (Riesling) that was waiting on our table when we arrived. Our server was very friendly and on top of things. We really like the wine and the dip platter that we ordered. It’s a nice venue and I would definitely come back for another event!

This was my first time at CITY Winery. Love the design, lived the show. The food not so much. The food came cold even though it took some time for it to come. I love the CITY WINERY. It's a beautiful place in a beautiful area. I came to the Gospel Melody Day Party. It was blessing and I had an awesome time. Once again, the food not so much and they charged way too much for 6 stripes of bacon for $6.00. I understand times are hard and they need to make the money some how. But, reasonable with prices.. But I love the place and the performances that I've seen there so far. Yes, I will be back.
Tasha B — Google review
Always a great time. The Common show was awesome. Small critique…. Since folks pay for their seats, it would be great if management or staff would insist on people not getting out of their seats to get closer to the stage which disrupts the folks that paid to be closer to the stage in their comfortable seat seats. Also knocking over tables and breaking glass on the floor. Still a great venue and great staff. Will definitely be back for another show over and over.

Nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of Williamsburg, Brooklyn Steel has swiftly carved out its niche in New York City's bustling concert scene. What sets Brooklyn Steel apart is its impressive sound system that enhances every performance and creates an immersive experience for attendees.
Great venue. Saw Crane Wives there last night. Sounds and lighting were on point all night. Christina Baines opened and was also terrific. Staff was friendly and worked well with everyone. Several good spots to get above the crowd a little bit to have a view from the back.

I loved this venue. The show with Shaky Graves was fantastic. The sound system and acoustics of the venue spot on. I must admit I was a bit worried about there being no seating as I'm both short and have issues with standing for long periods of time. However, the venue had accomodations for people with health issues and my party, a group of mature women with bad backs! We're able to sit in an elevated area and watch the show with a perfect view. I was so grateful to be able to stay for the entire show and thoroughly enjoyed it. Brooklyn Steel is highly organized with plenty of staff and security to make sure all goes smoothly. The bathrooms were clean and plentiful ( not always the case for women). Would highly recommend this venue for any type of show

Saw OK Go at Brooklyn Steel and had an amazing time. The industrial space is perfect for live shows—great sound, killer lights, and a confetti-filled finale that lit up the crowd. The two-level layout gives solid views throughout. Entry was smooth and staff were friendly. Only downside: 1. drinks are outrageously priced—$6.50 for water. 2. The warmup band performance takes 1 hour and really not that great.

Came here to see DJO in concert and the experience was amazing! We got to buy merchandise before the concert started so it made it a lot easier leaving. I had a great time at Elsewhere! The atmosphere was lively and the music was excellent. I appreciated how professional and attentive the staff were.. it made me feel safe throughout the night, which isn’t always the case at busy clubs. The rooftop was a highlight with a nice vibe and fresh air, perfect for a break from the main floor. That said, there’s room for improvement. The bathrooms could honestly have been a lot cleaner, and the stairs leading up to the rooftop felt a bit dangerous something to be mindful of if you’re wearing heels or if it’s crowded.. or very tipsy. The metal stairs are also outside. Overall though, a solid spot for a night out and I’d come back again.

It was my first time at elsewhere. It was pretty sick. We were on the rooftop. Glad it’s covered up for an outdoor show. The view of the city is cool and the sound is great too. You think it’d be terrible but since it’s a smaller venue, it works. One thing you have to be careful about are the stairs. When the show is packed, you might get pushed down. There aren’t really any barriers. Here’s hot mulligan

This review is about sustainability! By 2050 there will be more plastic in the ocean than fish. And over 95% of the plastic that we tried to recycle does not actually get recycled, but ends up instead in landfills, incinerators, and our waterways. I was sad to see the sale and consumption of so much single used plastic here at elsewhere, when here for a show the other night. It felt like a lot of cognitive dissonance, as we overlooked NYC rivers in the distance, and listen to musicians who were talking about their emotions regarding the environmental crisis. as a business in a waterfront city, I hope you can reconsider how you utilize plastics. By now, there are plenty of other, better options. At the least, you could have a water refill station with real reusable durable plastic cups. And a bin to collect them. Kind of like what House of Yes does. Or you could have a water fountain people could use. Or you could sell aluminum canned water. As aluminum is infinitely recyclable. You could also cease the use of flimsy single use plastic cups for draft beers, by similarly using durable cups for beer. I opted to get canned beer so I could avoid plastic, but I’m sure many people don’t even realize the necessity of that distinction when making their order. Thank you for considering my feedback. I want a happier and healthier New York, and I want to support venues that are helping us to get there. We can’t wait anymore to solve the plastic pollution crisis. Lovely staff, lovely venue, and would be even lovely without all the trash created in a mere three hour show.

Spectacular venue. Saw Effy on the rooftop. It was organized, secure and easy. Plenty of free parking on the street. The staff at the beginning were chill. Checked ID’s and did security efficiently. At the venue, I did not feel out of place. Crowd was mid 20s to early 30s. The rooftop was nice, they did a good job with setting up smoke as ventilation. Bar staff were quick and friendly. Made drinks strong and pleasant. Staff around gave helpful instructions to the bathroom. Bathroom was clean. Definitely one of the better venues out there. You’ll have a great time here :)

Ophelia Lounge NYC is a sophisticated rooftop lounge located on the 26th floor of the Beekman Tower. It features a 360-degree greenhouse terrace with stunning views of the Manhattan skyline and the East River. The lounge offers an extensive cocktail menu and a selection of shareable plates and main dishes, including Ribeye. With its art deco design, Ophelia Lounge NYC provides a classic cocktail lounge ambiance from the 1920s.
Our experience at Ophelia’s lounge was amazing! Our friends just got married and we got almost every appetizer on the menu. Everything was delicious, especially the lobster Mac n cheese (everything got eaten too quick to picture). Favorite cocktails were the Purple Tuxedo (pictured) and the El Paso Old Fashioned! Service from Camila was very attentive and she made us feel super welcome, along with the entire staff! We’ve met bartender Ruben in the past and he was just as welcoming, with lots of knowledge on the complex cocktails and tasty food!

A beautiful historic spot with a stunning 360-degree view of the city and Long Island City. The atmosphere is often quiet, cozy, and even intimate — except on nights when it turns into a full-on disco. One time we came without a reservation and had to wait quite a while, but the manager Lana (Lena?) made sure we got our table in the end. The evening turned out perfect, and we left completely happy. I truly love this hidden gem among New York’s rooftop bars! ✨

This is definitely a place to experience for the view! Gorgeous scenic view of NY! 26th floor but feels like it’s much higher. The view is quite clear and perfect for great pictures! The “bites” are more for tasting, small but beautiful and quite tasty. Everything is well prepared and presented! The staff is attentive and friendly! Elizabeth is great! All the staff is very pleasant and polite. The drinks are quite tasty, although I do consider those are pricey. The portions were on the small side for the cocktails. Getting about four small plates for two would be about enough and you’ll get a good taste. The steak skewers I recommend and the duck spring rolls are also great! The croquettes are amazing but quite small. I do recommend this place, it’s always a better experience with great staff and a great view that they have.

Ophelia Lounge is a must visit rooftop, that offers stunning views, delicius food and drinks, and excellent service. Located in the Beekman Tower on 1st Avenue, Ophelia offers a perfect and picturesque view of Roosevelt Island and the Long Island City waterfront. The space offers 360 views in an extremely cozy setting, with the interior dining areas featuring floor-to-ceiling windows and the outdoor seating providing unobstructed views of the surrounding areas. To top off the experience, the food and cocktails are amazing and the service was excellent. I went for their amazing tower brunch option which is offered on Sundays from 12 to 4PM. The tower brunch option gives a tiered towers of several items which can serve for 2 or 3 persons, and they offer 4 options ranging from $49/person to $79/person. Every single item on the tower was delicious and well worth the money. They also currently have a great restaurant week menu available, which I intend to try as soon as possible!

We had the absolute BEST night celebrating my friend’s bachelorette at Ophelia! The rooftop views were breathtaking, but what truly made the night unforgettable was Eduardo. From start to finish, his energy, kindness, and attention to detail went above and beyond. He made sure our group felt celebrated, kept the vibes fun and classy, and even showed us the most amazing spot on the rooftop for pictures (and they turned out stunning!). Eduardo made the entire experience feel special — it honestly wouldn’t have been the same without him. If you’re visiting Ophelia, ask for Eduardo — he’ll make sure your night is one to remember! 💫🍸✨

This is a truly delightful place to have drinks, celebrate a birthday, catch a spectacular view of the New York City skyline, or simply chill out. Everything turns out as wished for, the service is very attentive, the food is inspiring. I used a misleading or fraudulent offer from the inkind app for $50 off $150. We spent upward of $250 inkind used every excuse possible not to honor the offer. All were ludicrous and insult my intelligence: my bank has not approved the transaction; I have a new address; there was a typo in my card number; they reached out to American Express and found out there was a problem with the payment (I do not have AMEX). All in all, a waste of much time and energy to deal with people who acted in bad faith. A sorry excuse for an App

St. Mazie Bar & Supper Club is a vibrant and eclectic venue located in Williamsburg. The establishment offers a unique experience with frequent live jazz music, an outdoor garden lounge, and a cozy cellar housing the supper club dining area. During happy hour, guests can enjoy great deals on house wines and oysters while soaking up the lively atmosphere.
A true gem of a restaurant and cocktail bar. There was live music in the Cellar and the upstairs area – both had great musicians playing jazz, bossa nova, etc. A great place to bring your parents or have a romantic date. I recommend a reservation.

The food here is surprisingly good. I wasn’t expecting much since it’s a musical event space that also serves food. Usually, places like this have pretty mediocre meals. But that’s not the case here, every dishes we ordered were tasty. The only downside is that when it gets crowded, people try to talk over the music, which makes the whole space very loud. It felt like everyone was almost shouting at each other. I expected it to be more romantic, but it actually felt more like a food hall with live music, I don’t think it’s ideal for a date. I still really like this place. I’ll try downstairs next time, hope it will be quieter.

Went because the cocktails looked delicious. Stayed because the cocktails were delicious AND they had a live ragtime band! The vibes are great: real relaxed/ vintage. The drinks were amazing and our bartender John J. was one of the best bartenders I've seen! I can't recommend this place highly enough!

Beautiful ambience. It's a gorgeous establishment and we got wonderful front row seats to the stage. The cocktails were delicious and quite strong, but the dining service is where the evening quickly went south. An hour and a half for an appetizer that never came out- a server came by twice to ask us about it, and each time I said it hadn't come out. A completely different server came a third time to ask about it, when I eventually told them to just forget about it. Tried to order something different only to be told (an hour and a half into our wait) that the kitchen had closed 30 minutes ago as food continued to be brought out to other tables. A lovely shoutout to The New Wonders, who were an incredible band tonight. The singer/trumpet & trombone player came up and complimented how the folks at my table and I were dressed. Eat at any of the other incredible restaurants in the city, then come to St. Mazie's for the jazz and the drinks and save yourself an evening of disappointing service.

Great ambiance with tasty food and drinks—I loved it! I’ll definitely be back for the next music event. Looks like they host live shows daily! Perfect for date night.

Finally found the jazz spot we were searching for!!! Incredible music and honestly delicious dinner. Usually it’s one or the other but this place delivered! The AC was out when we were here but it only added to the sultry jazz vibe. Will 1000% be coming back and at least getting a drink for the live music. Loved it and would highly recommend for any jazz lover!!

* Response to below message- you must be mistaken for another group.None of us smoke cigarettes. Regarding the conversation of a stamp we willingly obliged to the charge/stamp after having danced freely in the bar for an hour without any information from said person about how to pay. I think this message is definitely micro aggression because the overall issue was not addressed. Seem retaliatory and so nasty so rude. Manipulation of a circumstance that didnt happen is unnecessary. Really upsetting & age-ist experience here. I live in the neighborhood & was out for a birthday. My group of friends (in 30’s & 40’s yrs) & I are LGBTQ as well as diverse. Please note I am a service industry person. We have good vibes, respect & we all just wanted to dance in a safe space. Unfortunately a very rude person came up to our group, grabbed my shoulder to ask about a “stamp” we needed- all of us were happy to pay the cover but that wasn’t explained. This person who worked there was super unpleasant, didn’t ask any of the other patrons abt a “stamp” (who were clearly early 20’s). This person pushed us out, made us feel uncomfortable & unwelcome. The bar staff was dismissive, rude & completely ignored us while we tried to order drinks. Its really sad that an establishment like this doesnt show respect to paying humans- apparently “inclusion” and “diversity” doesn’t actually mean based on Age. I am not returning here because it isnt a safe space for people over 30/40 yrs old who just want to drink, dance & enjoy a night out. I will share this with others because its just not cool how were singled out & mistreated.
Jen J — Google review
The security saw a group exiting a taxi to go to this bar. Said we were not allowed in because she is a professional and does not need to speak to any one of the group to know we were not capable of entering the bar because of intoxication. Mind you this is a ‘bar/club’ that serves alcohol. Way before the time of closure. However, I am happy to have this experience as I will continuously advocate to everyone I know to never try this place since they are very disrespectful and absolutely not worth trying. I hope the security guard will be supporting the opening of this location. Ps. I’m typing this review standing outside of the bar.
Yugindra R — Google review
Cute and queer gathering place with fun events and shows! Main detraction is the beverage program — their house cocktails are sugary / syrupy enough to give you a hangover sans booze. Do your tastebuds and bank account a favor and order a beer or spirit with soda.

What a fun spot! I don’t want to age myself, but the vibe here totally threw me back to the 90s club kid days—like I could’ve run into Michael Alig himself. The staff was super friendly, the show I caught was a blast, and the crowd was full of cool, welcoming people. Definitely a place I’d go back to for more good times.

This is a really cool spot, from the bar selection to the lighten, it has everything you’d need for an evening (especially on a Friday) wind down. The bar caters to most taste and is stocked to offer a variety sure to satisfy most thirsts. The lounge area is spacious, clean, and filled with music just loud enough to add to the atmosphere without being deafening or forcing you to yell over it. The back room where the stage is has a smaller bar which is a nice touch, and the lighting and smoke machine definitely add to the appeal of an already nice place.

Lol the bouncer was crazy rude for no reason, kept trying to imply I was dumb. Sorry I didn’t realize you worked here, thought you were just some creepy rando smoking outside. That was literally so weird, I don’t need to waste my money here tonight, that was so weird.

Great little place. I went there for a show that they hold in the upstairs section. Good drinks with an awesome bartender. She was very attentive all night. They also have a little patio that you can step out to. The place is intimate and great to see your favorite band!

I craved nachos because I am a big nachos lover and this place popped up. The nachos was tasty but EXTREMELY overpriced. I have had nachos from many places even many other states and this was the most expensive I've ever seen. The portion size wasn't even enough to share and worst of all I had to pay $5 extra to add chicken for a total of $18+ tax. I just knew when I got home and sat down to eat the nachos I would be thrilled but sadly I was ripped off. Look at the picture do you even see any chicken....$5 more for invisible fine pieces of chicken. Very pretty looking but NOT WORTH IT!

This is a pretty dope spot. They have good food and amazing drinks. And there are pretty good bands that perform upstairs if you're looking for some music. And chill vibes.
Alexander R — Google review
Drinks were pretty standard, but the food was pretty bad. Service was solid. The guacamole was very plain (no taste of salt, lime, onions, etc). It also seemed like a tiny portion compared to what you get at most restaurants. I had the chimichanga. It was mostly just unseasoned beef, unseasoned beans, and a fried tortilla. Very little cheese, sour cream, etc. No flavor. It was so boring that I had to drown it in Cholula to make it through. My girlfriend had the taco salad which was very similar to the one at Taco Bell, but somehow worse. Again, it was very plain, and the shell was pure oil. I was excited to try this place because it has good reviews and I saw it in a food blog, but we left pretty underwhelmed.

El Cortez is a chill bar/restaurant in bushwick. We ordered nachos and quesadilla with a couple beers at the bar. The nachos were on point and the quesadilla was pretty good too, but my favorite part of the meal was the peppers served with the quesadilla. I can’t recall the name but they were delicious. All in all a good experience, I’d bring my parents here or something. Also shout out to the couple sitting at the bar clearly on a first date, they were both doing their best to out-awkward each other, wish I would have stayed to see who came out victorious.

Such a classic theater-esk event space. Some many cool organizations and public funded programs are helped. From art, music to theater. These photos were from a Halloween casino night fundraiser. It was a nice space for a play or musical in your beginning and intermediate stages. The only thing I suggest is labeling the rows and seats, it was chaos trying to find seats. Other than that NO complaints. Sound and lighting was great.

The hall is small and intimate. It gave the audience the perfect view of the stage regardless of where you were standing. The staff were very, very friendly and well mannered. They made everyone feel welcomed without being awkward. The staff made sure that everyone's safety was considered while not imposing their will onto everyone. The pictures included in this review are from the VANNER (kpop group) concert held on January 19, 2020. Everything was well organized from moment fans entered till it was time for everyone to leave including the group performing. The staff allowed the fans and artist to acrually form mini bonds with each other unlike other venues. While everything was on a time schedule, no one was rushed or made ro feel uncomfortable. The staff calmly and kindly explained rules and all other important info in a way that was more friendly than pure professional and cold. All in all, I will definitely attend more concerts here.

The Sultan Room is a trendy late-night spot that offers live music, DJ sets, and a quirky Turkish eatery. Located in Bushwick, this venue boasts a state-of-the-art sound system, vibrant lighting, and unique decor inspired by mosques. It's known for hosting diverse musical performances influenced by global sounds. Attached to the venue is the kitschy Wisconsin supper club, Turks Inn, where visitors can enjoy casual Turkish fare before hitting the sunken dance floor.
If New York City had a spiritual nexus for live music, glitter, sweat, and euphoric transcendence, The Sultan Room would be it. I’m not being hyperbolic — this is the greatest small-to-mid-sized concert venue in the five boroughs, and arguably in the entire tri-state area. Full stop.

Overall rating: 4.8 Wow I absolutely love this place. It gives me Brooklyn vibes to the max & I’m obsessed. My concert doors opened maybe 20 min late and I was fortunate enough to see band playing on the rooftop too. I was maybe 5 min late to doors opening and all of the good spots were already taken! I guess that’s New York for you. I found a little nook that no one thought of & placed myself there for the rest of the night. Highly recommend as a concert venue! Curious to see if it’s open when it’s not a concert hall. Would love to check out!!

This place is awesome!! I'm not sure what all the bad reviews are about. The crowd was fun and rowdy, the space is small and intimate. There is no bad place to stand in the place. I would love to go to another show here. The lights were really cool and the sound was well balanced.

Came for their Honey night. Great room and there was a nice vibe in there until I couldn’t get through the party without smelling everyone’s bad weed. All about everyone having a good time, but with everyone lighting up inside and no security or staff to enforce it, it completely ruined my experience. A woman who was working the venue did come inside, stared at people she saw were smoking, and did nothing about it. Also, the ticket on the dice website said 11 PM for doors and when we got there on time, we were told doors wouldn’t open for another 30 minutes.

this place is amazing! I went here for a kitty sultan rave & it was one of the best experiences ever. the bathrooms are totally sticker bombed, and not rlly gross as I'm used to. All plumbing was working properly when I went, the bartender was super chill/kind and the people greeting upon entrance were awesome too!! I'll definitely be returning anytime there's a cool party happening here. surprisingly I didn't have too much trouble finding parking considering the area.

I was on their rooftop a few weeks back & I think it was nice/has potential to be really good for day party situations. The day I went was kind of cold & I was there early. But I’ve been to the sultan room a few times before for concerts in the back room. I love those! I’ll usually grab one of their frozen drinks & listen to the bands or whoever is playing music. I also enjoy the visual presentation on stage. Sound is quality too.

American restaurant
Restaurant
Ellen's Stardust Diner is a multi-level '50s-themed restaurant that offers a nostalgic experience with its retro ambiance and memorabilia from the 1950s. The diner is known for its singing servers, who provide entertainment while you enjoy classic American dishes from an extensive menu. The decor includes a 1956 Predicta television, framed photos of former Miss Subways, and other vintage items like an indoor train and a drive-in theater.
Dinner and a show with absolutely amazing voices. I’ve seen so many videos about this restaurant and I finally was able to visit. I went on a Tuesday night around 10:30 PM. There was no line so once I told them it was just me they essentially sent me upstairs to my seat. I think I had like four or five people waiting on me, everyone sort of rocks around assisting everyone since at any point in time a server could be performing. I think that’s an amazing model and I’ve always wondered how they did that. Everyone sounds absolutely magical here and I can’t wait to see them on Broadway very soon! Oh yeah, the food is also amazing. I had a create your own omelette and a brownie with ice cream and fudge. A wacky meal I know, but it was actually the only meal I ate today so why not go weird enough for Tuesday right? The food came out relatively quick. And if it didn’t, I truly couldn’t tell because I was watching the performances. Lol

WOW!!! If you're in the Big Apple and are looking to stop somewhere for a quick bite and catch a show....This is The Place for Both!!! The Stardust was envisioned by a former Miss Subways beauty queen, and it is where you'll find Great Food served by an amazingly talented staff of actual Broadway performers! They take turns breaking into spectacular songs, showing off their pipes! Our wonderful waiter rang up 2 bills and filled & served multiple beverage orders without missing a note, balancing the bevs & bills with the mic! Your host invites you to toss a donation into a blinged-out bucket to help your wait staff pay for added lessons as they wait for their Big break. You may have already seen them on the Great White Way! Years ago they used to hop up on special tables to strut their stuff, but these days they have a cleverly built mini runway down the center of the main floor. The food was fabulous (grilled cheese perfection with waffle fries!) and if we waited for it we didn't notice because we were enjoying the non-stop show! There was a line outside to get itn, and they go by the number in your party to coordinate with the seats available. It went fairly quickly and was So Worth It!! And don't forget to purchase some mementos on your way out!!
The V — Google review
It‘s an amazing dining experience, the servers are talented singers and future broadway stars. They serve your tables and also taking turn to show their great voices, we sat at table by the mini runway, so much fun to see the stunning singing performances continuously during the meal. Not to care on the food, just average but worth paying for the performance and cheerful vibes. A not to miss dining spot when in NY.
Tan T — Google review
Great place to experience. The staff are amazing singers as they wait for their big break on Broadway. We just popped in for some drinks and snacks. Great atmosphere. Was highly recommended to visit and we glad we did. A must for anyone visiting NYC. We got there at about 3.30pm and there was no queue. After 15 minutes queues started to build presumably for dinner service, so worth getting there late afternoon.
Matt- F — Google review
You should DEFINITELY come here when you have the time. The singers/Waiters were hilarious with some of their movements, and the food took a little time, but the atmosphere totally made up for it. My personal favorite? When our waiter threw straws at the other staff and said “SING!!” It was the funniest. Service: they were really polite and respectful of their customers. it was nice.
최Eunsung — Google review
What an experience! We went for brunch on a Saturday around 11am, and thankfully the line wasn't too long! The singing servers are amazing. Literally serving food and processing checks while singing their hearts out. I wasn't a fan of the chocolate chip pancakes -- they were quite gluey. The corned beef hash was delicious, however -- I'd definitely get it again! The food took a while to come out but at least we were very well entertained during the wait!
Gloria H — Google review
This was a fun diner in Times Square, New York. There was a long line to get into the diner, but it went relatively quickly. In our case, we waited about 30 to 40 minutes to get in. Once inside, we were greeted by an energetic staff. At which we sat and watched the fun performances from the various staff members. Some of the performances were boring, but some of them included people climbing up and walking around. One of the people in our party was celebrating their birthday, and they made it very fun for us, including grabbing a candle. Overall, it was a very positive experience. However, it was also very very expensive for what it was
Micki — Google review
Stumbled on this diner after landing in NY early in the morning and was pleasantly surprised... arrived shortly after they opened at 7am and half the restaurant was full. Saw my friends in CAFUNE play here and it was awesome. Love the acts they book here. Sound is consistently solid. Crowds are respectful and fun. Bar prices are high - beers are like $12-15, so plan accordingly :)

I went to see TimeCop1983, Josh Dally, and Droid Bishop at this venue. I like that it's not too big. Wherever you stand you have a good view of the stage and the performers. The acoustics are really good too. It's bigger than Elsewhere/Zone One, but much smaller than Roseland or Terminal 5. And it has a mezzanine section. The bar and restrooms are downstairs. The bar area also has a TV showing the performance on the stage in case you get tired of standing.

Really cool smaller intimate venue.Several bars are nice so lines hypothetically are short for drinks.Very cool downstairs bar that has excellent old New York vibes, very cool.

One of my favorite venues in the city. Small enough to feel intimate and big enough to book good acts. Two of the best shows I've ever seen were here (Thao touring Temple and Frankie Cosmos touring Different Talking).

National Sawdust, a new-music venue in Brooklyn, opened its doors in 2015. The space can accommodate up to 170 seated or 350 standing guests and features two bars and a restaurant. Despite the preserved exterior of the sawdust factory it once housed, the interior has been completely rebuilt by Brooklyn design studio Bureau V to cater to both acoustic and electric music performances.
National Sawdust is a visual treat. The concert I most recently attended was set up in their extremely intimate cabaret set up, but I have done standing room shows in the venue too. It’s always comfortable, and there is no bad view in the house. The acoustics and speaker design are also perfect, ensuring you hear everything with precision. This is, hands down, one of the best venues in NYC and the world!

Visited here recently to watch Wolf Alice be interviewed and perform as part of series for the Grammy Museum. The staff were efficient and friendly. The venue is well lit, clean and there are easily read signs everywhere. It only seats 500. The venue is a 10 minute walk from the L train. There is bag check available. The restrooms are clean. The bar accepts credit and debit cards.

The sound space is gorgeous, the way sound and light systems were integrated into the wood-beam architecture. Staff is very friendly, drinks are reasonably priced (relative to other Brooklyn spaces), and they have a socially conscious credo. I look forward to future events!

Stark and beautiful venue for music and other artistic performances held in an intimate and tastefully whitewashed space. House lights are intricately arranged across the walls. The venue's unique performances are accented by the relative tightness of itself and the special cocktails served to order each night

This space is amazing. I went to experience the multidisciplinary artist Jojo Abot. She worked the space perfectly. With a different layout than usual, she always knows how best to use the space she is in.. The programme at this venue is delightful. Go and see any show. Pretty sure you'll be in for a treat. The programmer is of great taste.

Magic Hour Rooftop Bar & Lounge is a rooftop cocktail bar located at the Moxy Times Square in New York City. It features an amusement park theme with attractions such as a mini-golf course and rotating carousel-style seating. The bar offers a unique experience with its topiary garden and nightly DJs, all while providing stunning views of the Empire State Building. This year, Magic Hour has introduced the Pink Rose Garden, adorned with over 10,000 roses and pink porch swings.
Magic Hour Rooftop is truly one of a kind! Such a beautiful spot with a stunning carousel decorated with flowers – it feels absolutely magical. The drinks are just wow, and I definitely recommend trying the cocktail bouquet, especially the biggest one – it’s an experience in itself. The food is very good, though the portions are on the smaller side, which is fine for this type of place. What I really love is how the vibe changes depending on where you sit: on one side it feels more like a lively lunch party with a DJ, and on the other side it’s romantic with a more intimate atmosphere. The DJ playing during my last visit was fantastic and really added to the night (@djkizzy) I’ve been here several times already, and everyone I’ve ever brought absolutely loved it. I’ll definitely keep coming back – highly recommend!

ONLY good for aesthetics. We had a terrible experience with this brunch. First of all, we called to ask if my friend could bring her daughter and were told YES, but then they refused to allow them in. However, I was already inside, and there were two little girls there. The terrace was extremely hot, no fans in the summer heat. The waiter got our order wrong, even though she wrote it down? And then we had a long wait because the kitchen was closed. The spritz bouquet is $75 for flat lukewarm seltzers. The menu says chicken Caesar salad, but I was charged $12 exra for like 3oz of chicken! Just not worth it overall, all flash no substance. Would only recommend for a drink and cute pics.

Came here for brunch on a Saturday and not too busy. The vibes are on point, beautiful atmosphere. Great for photo ops so make sure to dress cute. Floral scenery, mini moving carousel for siting and taking pictures. The chicken parm sliders were good but extremely small. The egg sandwich is good, did think it has a little too much small but still good and hash browns are extremely crispy. Waiter did forget my water after telling her 4 times but that’s ok. The pina colada drink was good but tasted more on the lemon side. Did sit on a high seat which was kinda uncomfortable. If I had a normal sitting table maybe my experience would be much better. Made a reservation on open table. Cool open rooftop area. Overall was a good brunch day for pictures. This is somewhere I came once and I’m good so won’t be coming back. Go for the vibes and the atmosphere. One and done experience.
Alisha B — Google review
The place is stunning — the food and atmosphere are truly five-star quality, and it’s clear that most of the staff work hard to make guests feel welcome. However, our experience at the bar didn’t match the same level of care. The bartender seemed distracted and lacked the empathy and attention one expects in such a highly rated venue. I came here with my wife to enjoy what’s known as one of the best rooftop spots in the city, and it’s a shame that one person’s attitude can affect an otherwise wonderful experience. This place has everything to be perfect if all staff shared the same level of professionalism as the rest of the team.

3.5 / 5.0 - Magic Hour Rooftop is conveniently located near Penn Station, on the 18F of Moxy NYC Times Square. The ambiance is great, with seasonal decorations and nice views of the Empire State Building and surrounds. Until Sep, they have a lovely Full Bloom display on the west terrace. The staff at reception were welcoming and helpful, too. However, our server was inattentive and too busy enjoying chatting with other staff to serve us. Both ordering and getting food and drinks took time. We’d made reservations and were seated at a table, but had to walk up to the bar to get utensils and ask other staff for the check. It’s such a cute spot it’s too bad the service level is so poor.
Sawako Y — Google review
Overall fun place for taken awesome pictures with friends or fam. The brunch menu to me was limited. You get a nice view of the Empire Bldg and the Dj is very good. I hope that they have a large menu for evening dinner. I had a good time with friend.
Brenda B — Google review
Came from San Francisco excited to try Magic Hour since it was on our NYC list. The vibe was okay, nothing too special, although seems like everyone was crazy about getting a picture on the center rotating table piece. Happy hour was a letdown with only 3 options (a beer, rosé wine, and a spritz), so we ended up ordering from the regular menu. Food was good and the music was fun. The hostess was quick to get us food, but when we were ready to leave it took forever to get our check—we noticed the same thing happening to the table next to us too. Overall, this is NOT a must-do NYC rooftop in my opinion.

Very touristy but cute; a group of us reserved a table for dinner but we were seated at a lounge type of table NOT a dinner table. It was hard to eat in your lap. Beautiful spot for photos. Food and drinks are good but expensive.

Nestled in the vibrant Lower East Side of New York City, Pianos is a beloved two-level bar and music venue that has been captivating nightlife enthusiasts since 2002. This eclectic hotspot features an impressive lineup of live indie performances and DJ sets, making it a go-to destination for those seeking an unforgettable night out. With its unique atmosphere, Pianos has hosted a diverse array of artists over the years, from iconic names like Lady Gaga to indie sensations like Arcade Fire.
Pianos is a very good spot that has great bar bites and music. Very vibey atmospher, it does get very packed at times but still a good spot to hit up in the LES.

This place is amazing to dine at, and celebrate special occasions. I went here surprising my bestie for her birthday. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was top notch. I highly recommend everyone to have an experience dining here at least once.
Elena E — Google review
Pianos was a really fun place to spend a night in the city. The first night I went, they had a great live band, and the second night I went, they had a popping dance floor in the upstairs area. The bartenders were also very attentive, and I thought the bouncers did a great job of being firm and deescalating situations without coming across as condescending or aggressive. I also met some really nice other patrons, who chatted me up and made me feel welcome on the Lower East Side. Would definitely recommend stopping by for a night of dancing!

Prices are top, we were at happy hour and the margaritas were very good. It is selfservice but staff were very friendly. We had a DJ that night and he was super cool he made the great atmosphere and good lounge music. For dinner O got the burger which was ok I would have preferred that they put tomatoes, lettuce and pickles, this was missing for me and made it little dry, this is just a feed in which I think would be super easy to improve. Other thN that great.
Gigi — Google review
I went on a Friday night and the line to get in was around the corner. It’s $10 to stay on the ground floor and $20 to go upstairs where it was definitely more energetic. To me, it seems like a place to go to if you’re into the young scene and are looking for a wild night. Definitely felt like a high school event with a lot of younger people. The drinks are definitely more on the pricier end as well.
Wilbert N — Google review
I used to enjoy coming here between November 2024-May 2025. But things are changing for the worse. When summer began they started charging cover fees. Cool. What breaks if for me is the bartenders literally crying when you don’t tip them, making you feel awkward. The bartender in the back room made my drink wrong. I asked him politely to remake it and he was more than willing to untill I was about to pay. Once he saw that I wasn’t going to tip he snatched the card reader and refused to make me a drink. 😭 it’s time to look for a new spot.
Katherine V — Google review
Honestly Pianos is legendary….actually more notorious. If you are a woman you’ll probably be hit on an overwhelming amount of times coming in here. And then when you leave you’ll get hit on by all the men who weren’t able to get in lurking outside. It’s just a really horny place. The music varies on the nights you go but it’s def top 40 rap and hip hop vibes for the most part! It’s always jumping. Love the bartenders, especially the john wick looking one. He’s so nice!!! I’d go here if you know what you’re in for. There’s a reason it has its reputation!

The reviews about the aggressive security guards are extremely accurate. My friends were kicked out for being NEXT to two individuals who were smoking, and while trying to explain that we were not smoking, the tall security guard with locs put his hands on my friends and shoved them down the exit. I intervened to explained that they were trying to wait for me and my other friend to come down and he pushed me as well. We are all 5’1 and less than 130 pounds. The shorter security guard with the tattoos, I believe hispanic, was helpful and tried to calm down because even he knew his colleague was doing too much. He is weak, and ridiculous for that and the manager is going to end up with a case keeping him around.

Le Bain, perched atop the iconic Standard Hotel in Manhattan's Meatpacking District, is a vibrant rooftop destination that promises an unforgettable experience. This lively venue features a disco and bar with stunning 18th-floor views of the Hudson River and the Empire State Building. With its state-of-the-art sound system, guests can dance to beats spun by renowned DJs while enjoying refreshing cocktails. The seasonal plunge pool adds an enticing touch for those looking to cool off after hitting the dance floor.
I really like Le Bain! It’s a fun bar and nightclub, and they even have a Jacuzzi. My friends went last night before Memorial Day and were actually swimming in it there were big balloons, great music, and a fun crowd. The drinks were nice too. I haven’t tried the food yet, but I bet it’s good. The view is amazing, and everyone was really friendly. I’d definitely go back. Since I live in Manhattan, it’s super easy to get to. 🔥

Lovely terrace to watch the sunset! After a few drinks you can come down yo the club area and enjoy the live dj music while you’re on the dance floor. The club has a pool inside so it’s kinda eccentric but unique about its atmosphere. The view from the terrace it’s amazing! Definitely a summer must visit spot!

Rude staff, door person, yes the blond one. Over the top "we're so exclusive vibe" rude attitude but it was actually not at all. There's a little hot tub reeking of chlorine as you down your vodka, while staff try to find more ways to exclude and mistreat you. Views were SPECTACULAR! Music was house, and great DJ, so atmosphere was good, everyone dancing, a younger crowd though. We just happened to be there because friends were staying at hotel. Door person wanted to see a key for each person - seriously. Drinks were very watered down. Had a great time because with friends and good music, but would never come back. Lots of great venues in NYC without rude staff and management.

Le Bain is a rooftop disco bar on the top floor of The Standard. It’s an iconic club in meat packing distract. Le Bain has vibes like no other in Manhattan. Great views. Great music. Le Bain attracts a very eclectic. The view, the people watching, and music all make it such a great atmosphere!

Worst experience I’ve ever had in a club. Even if you get in, the drink prices are outrageous and the venue is lame. All they have is decent restrooms. A weird hot tub. And good views of Lower Manhattan. But the drama at the front door is not worth it: I thought this club was okay, until I got rejected for entry for no reason. I visited this club many times before. But in Nov 2025, they let my entire group in, but not me and refused to give me a reason. They were so disrespectful that all of my friends left this venue along with me. Idk how they can stay in business while treating their customers with so much disrespect. People who go clubbing generally spend a lot of money. Nobody deserves racial or disrespect. There are better places to have a good time with n NYC..

Racist establishment. I’ve had better experiences here many times. But on Nov 01 2025, I came here and I got a racist bouncer who wouldn’t let me in no matter what. I’ve never experienced such racism in my life. She let my friends enter the club but not me. They let 4/5 people in my group in but not me. One of the female bouncers refused to let me in no matter what. They refused to give any reason. All of my friends and me ended up leaving the venue. I’ve never had such a hostile experience at a club. I’m there to spend money. To treat your customers in such a way is disrespectful. Your drinks are overpriced and the view of Manhattan isn’t unique to this venue anyways. I can’t believe I would not be let in as a frequent customer on Halloween and be shown such racism and contempt. I’m glad I didn’t spend more money here. Good luck to others who decide to patronize this place. I wouldn’t recommend it. Don’t patronize racist establishments. I’m from South India and I’ve traveled a lot, but I’ve never experienced such treatment anywhere in the world. Racism is not okay.

Rockwood Music Hall is an intimate venue located in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. It offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere for music enthusiasts. The venue has three stages that host performances by singer-songwriters and emerging artists, including an underground jazz club-style stage 3. Unlike many other NYC venues, Rockwood Music Hall usually does not have a cover charge, and the drink prices are reasonable.
Rock wood music hall is such a great venue! I’ve been here a couple of times and it’s a cool vibe, feels intimate, and there’s great music to discover. There are three stages and each stage has its own bar. Stage 1 is the smallest. Stage 2 is the biggest and has an upstairs with tables.

Great venue for seeing new artists and songwriters. There was a 2 drink minimum the night we visited. They hold your credit card against your tab. Cocktails were $10-15 and soft drinks $5. Staff were friendly and helped us find the correct stage (there are 3). We had a great night there!

Cool spot to host shows. A very intimate vibes kinda venue, with a touch of gothic. They have a green room for performers with it's own bathroom, and multiple bar and performance areas. They surprisingly had 3 bathrooms in the area we were in, which was super helpful. Staff was accommodating, sound guy (Ashton) was great, and the drinks were well done.

Mona's is a laid-back bar located in Alphabet City, away from the touristy spots. It may not be the fanciest place, but it offers a unique experience with its pool table, Skee-Ball, jukebox, and live music events. On Tuesday evenings, the Mona's Hot Four band hosts late-night jazz jams featuring talented saxophonists and trumpeters. The bar attracts a diverse crowd, from neighborhood seniors enjoying Jeopardy!
Really cool & cozy old bar in alphabet city. Pours a good guiness and has a table in the back. Loved my time at the Bluegrass Jam on Monday night (starts @9).

Mona's is a great neighborhood bar with a friendly atmosphere. The bartender, Kayla, is absolutely awesome - super attentive and makes great drinks! They've got a fantastic pool table if you're looking for some fun, and it's really touching that they play Jeopardy in memory of a regular who passed away. I make a point to go when I’m in the city. It's clear this place has a strong sense of community. Definitely worth checking out!

Mona’ Bar is hands down one of the best bars I’ve been to! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is inviting, stylish, and full of energy. The decor strikes the perfect balance between modern and cozy, making it a great spot for both a casual night out and a special occasion. The drink menu is incredible—a mix of classic cocktails and creative, house-made concoctions that you won’t find anywhere else. I tried their signature cocktail, and it was absolutely phenomenal—perfectly balanced, refreshing, and expertly crafted. The bartenders here are true mixologists; you can tell they put passion and skill into every drink they make. Beyond the drinks, the service at Mona’ Bar is top-notch. The staff is friendly, attentive, and genuinely seems to enjoy being there. They go above and beyond to make sure you’re having a great time, whether it’s recommending a drink based on your taste or just making friendly conversation. The music and vibe are also worth mentioning. The playlist is always on point—not too loud, just the right mix of upbeat and chill, creating a lively but comfortable ambiance. If you’re looking for a place with great energy but without the overwhelming crowd, Mona’ Bar is the perfect spot. Overall, Mona’ Bar is a must-visit. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick drink after work, a date night, or a fun weekend out with friends, this place has it all. Amazing drinks, fantastic service, and an unbeatable atmosphere—I’ll definitely be coming back!

The black bouncer stole money from my purse that I left next to the bathroom and went to tell me that if something’s missing from my bag is not his fault. I CAUGHT HIM counting cash outside and confronted him about stealing from me (it was a lot of money) and I told him to admit to it right now. So he did and gave me the cash back. I can’t believe the person who’s supposed to ensure security is the thief. That is absolutely insane and I’m sure it’s not his first time. You guys need new staff. A lot of Rude bartenders too

BEWARE. Worst experience ever. As two young women, my friend and I came here but were met with the most hostile and racist environment. We were verbally assaulted and threatened by a man because we asked to play pool. The bartender started yelling at us as well trying to kick us out instead of him even though we said we were afraid the guy would follow and harm us, the bartender said I don’t care he’s a loyal customer. Finally a different customer intervened to help us and the man ended up actually assaulting him and ripping his clothes. My friend and I had to literally run away down the street.
Ruby G — Google review
One of their regulars at the bar, got really aggressive and loud to my friend, and I because he overheard us talking about how we thought we were up next for pool he started screaming in our faces, came up to our table, was clapping in our faces and slamming on our table and yelling at us because he was defensive over playing pool? Then his wife came to berate us once we started defending ourselves and blaming us for the altercation, because we got loud back at him claiming that we made him aggressive after responding back to him while he got in our faces yelling at us, for no reason we weren’t even talking to him in the first place! then the bartender kicked us all out and didn’t even care that that guy was harassing us. We told them we weren’t going to leave until they left first because we did not feel safe as the guys wife was trying to make us fight her and he seemed like he hit women too. The bartender did not care and said that the couple had been coming there for 10 years and never had any problems( I doubt it) We finally left after them and when we came outside they were beating up and ripping the shirt off two guys who were trying to defend us. I seriously think that guy beat his wife. Anyways wouldn’t recommend. All the 11star reviews make sense

Hank's Saloon is a long-standing dive bar in Brooklyn that has been a neighborhood staple for decades. It has a dark, honky-tonk atmosphere and offers regular live music, featuring genres like country rock and rockabilly. The bar is known for its cheap drinks, friendly bartenders, and an outdoor grill when the weather warms up. While it's a cash-only establishment with an ATM available, patrons appreciate the lively and authentic Brooklyn vibe.
I've always loved the legendary Hanks for the people and it's vibe. I'm thankful it's still alive in this new and sweet little Texas space of a food hall. Bartenders are the same and still the best! This place cannot and will not die, thank god!

If they have live music, don't bother. Julie won't let you back in if you want to go outside for any reason. Even if you brought a party of 40. I won't be back. This place is garbage. Edit: I was not there a week ago and I did not bring in a six pack (who does that, and why are you blaming me for that?).
