Such a great place to stop in! Drinks are on point for sure, absolutely great beer selection. If you are down, always grab an underberg. Great atmosphere and bartenders!!!

Relaxed atmosphere with a variety of drink options including non alcoholic options. A wonderful venue to watch live, local talent.
Susan H — Google review
Very chill atmosphere with awesome drinks. Great variety of things to try. Staff was super friendly. Definitely recommend! They also have live music sometimes which is a lot of fun. The seasonal Vikings Blod Honey Wine was amazing!
Eric D — Google review
Bry and Jacob set an amazing tone for this place. Super laid back friendly and welcoming. So glad I stopped in. It felt like home. Will be back. You guys rock.
Cit V — Google review
The bill is tiny. It is friendly. They have a small selection of really great beers. They seem to have a lot more “art house” events if that’s what you’re looking for. . If you’re coming down to the fest they seem to host primarily outdoor acoustic events. And don’t worry they still had all your pbr deals.
Jason M — Google review
Always love their services and drinks! A must visit in Gainesville. Plus they have good Guinness in town!
Kex — Google review
Pretty cool place, has a nice vibe. My friend Mark liked it. He's from Oregon. They didn't have cocktails though so it wasn't my cup of tea.

High Dive is a vibrant live music venue and outdoor bar located in Downtown Gainesville. It has been a staple for live music in the area, hosting both local and traveling bands. The venue has undergone recent renovations, enhancing its stage and atmosphere, including an outdoor beer garden for pre-show gatherings. High Dive has welcomed major artists like Dave Matthew's Band, Kenny Chesney, Green Day, Black Keys, and Paramore.
Solid place to catch a show! Went to see Magic City Hippies at this place for the first time and I enjoyed the experience. Outside bartender was chill and got our drinks out fast. Would come back here.
Christian E — Google review
Been to 2 concerts here. It's small, but the acoustics inside are great. Tickets to both shows were cheap and worth every penny. Drinks are reasonably priced. They have multiple concerts and other events every month. I will definitely be returning.
Michael S — Google review
Dustin Sims and the group with him where hilarious! One of the best comedy shows I've ever heard... how ever this review is for the High Dive and they suck!!! Be prepared to sweat, I don't think they have ac... it's Florida crank that ac up! Seats are small fold up chairs so you won't be comfortable either.
Amanda H — Google review
I absolutely love this place. Has a fantastic vibe and a great venue to see live music. It is a very intimate setting but the music is loud and clear as it should be.
Rob M — Google review
AMAZING, Very amazing loud music for heavy metal listeners and rock 🤘, Has a bar for DRINKS only, clean bathrooms and place to sit down in the venue 5/5 👏👏
Dylan R — Google review
I just went to the show that had the head line PowerGlove with Immortal Guardian as a build-up. Honestly I have to say that out of the three bands that played I have a hard time picking a favorite because the entire show rocked the house. PowerGlove brought the house down and immortal guardian was epic as ever. I can’t believe that Gabriel Guardian can play the guitar, play the keyboard, and sing at the same time!!! I have to give a mad shout out to the opening band “Sworn to Decay”! The crowd didn’t even know how to respond when their black metal influence hit the floor. The crowd was prepared for a some melodic metal and got slapped in the face from the start! I can’t wait to see all these bands again. I’m a local and will be looking for more shows featuring all these bands in the future. Especially my boys from “Sworn to Decay”.

Second time here, this place always have nice shows, locals bands and international bands, stand up and more, the parking lot is for around 15 cars, but you can park in the street.

In addition to live music, visitors can enjoy a selection of beers, meads, and ciders from local craft brewers.
Our first show and we loved it!!!!! Great crowd! The venue is perfect* Clean restrooms* close parking * THC shots 😁we saw Mountain Grass Unit with a surprise guest Mason Via*we will definitely go back!🤩

Really fun venue and great festival. The grounds were a little difficult to traverse in my wheelchair, even though it is a powerchair. There was no designated space for wheelchair users near the stage which meant I was left trying to peer around people who were constantly shoving in front of me. It was frustrating, but the music, food trucks, and people were all great. (This is in reference to the 2025 Playground and Arts festival). The video shows the front walkway, it is really uncomfortable to roll over and I almost got stuck in the gravel at the end.
Morgan — Google review
April 26th, 2025 went to a concert, but didn't arrive until almost 7pm to hear Uncle Morty Rhythm Cream and The Grass is Dead. Glad we didn't go earlier because this was mostly an outside venue and it was super hot that day. Bring a cooling device if going during the day to these all day concerts. Bring chairs if you want to sit and be aware that there are only porta potties for lower paying ticket holders. They do have inside bathrooms, but are only reserved for musicians and higher paying VIP ticket holders. Adult beverage prices are reasonable, average price is $7. Food and ware vendors come in and there are restaurants and a local brewery on the complex. The sound engineers mixing the bands were very good. Tickets for this event were $30/person at the door and you were given an armband to be able to come in and out. No pets except service dogs are posted on the website, but I saw a couple of people with non-service dogs, one of them being friends of ours. Kid friendly, wheel chair accessible, and parking limited, but was not hard for us to find a spot. Be prepared to be beaned with a beachball or run into by some smaller human. Dance area is large and the whole area is mostly grass/dirt. We traveled about 30 minutes to get there. We met people we know and love and had a good time. We will definitely go again.
Terry P — Google review
Wonderful!!! We had no idea what to expect when we went to see ‘Certainly So’ back in June but were amazed by the experience and service! The only stressful part of the whole trip was parking as we couldn’t find a ton of options nearby, but it also seemed like a Halloween event was going on so there was even less available parking. Overall so fun and such a great time!
Gwendolyn W — Google review
One of the coolest venues to be at. They have seating areas and you can set up blankets and chairs as well. Really good sound system and overall just good vibes going on here. They also have vendors and food around the grounds alongside cheap drinks 😋

I love this venue so much. By far my favorite place in Gainesville area for live music. It is intimate and a perfect place for live music. Highly, Highly recommend.

Perfect from appointment scheduler to everyone there. Front office and back office. The love they have for animals is so evident. Reasonable prices and having our cat spayed and the precaution they took when they heard a heart murmur was so appreciated.

We were in town and was able to catch a festival at BoDiddly Plaza. Nice fun and clean with great music, but watch out because these funny looking caterpillars fall from the trees and are every where. If they happen to get on to your skin it will irritate your skin. Other then that we enjoyed ourselves💃🏿

I hoola hooped here once. Great place! 5 stars. Would recommend. Really cool to have a live music spot right in the middle of town.

Lovely plaza, always very clean and well maintained. Just went to my first free concert Friday and the Savants did amazing. The acoustics were great too, you could hear the music all throughout downtown!

I enjoy the atmosphere when they have bands, especially the Free Friday ones. Very family friendly. Our kids really enjoyed making new friends and playing with the other kids there.

One of the best things about living in a smaller city like Gainesville is going to events and them not being super crowded. Bo Diddley Plaza often has events that aren't super busy and parking isn't a huge hassle.

Loosey's Downtown Gainesville, located on South West First Avenue, is a popular spot for locals and visitors alike. The bar offers a wide selection of U.S. craft beers and features live music by talented Gainesville musicians. The menu boasts regionally sourced foods made from local ingredients, including favorites like two-bite tacos, chef's special mac n cheese, and fried shrimp seafood dinner.
Omg $10 burger night. And these are great burgers. Love the servers, love the mock tails, love the fries. Fun to sit outside with friends. Highly recommend.
John M — Google review
Was a bit hungry and I was looking for Steak Bites. The Steak Frites was the closest I could come to it. A little too much gristle and not enough flavor. It was a pretty good size for $22. I ate a good portion of it. The sides were not best selections. The fries did taste a bit decent. My wife wasn’t crazy with her Burger, as they undercooked it and she had to send it back. The service is a tad bit slow, looks like they can pick up the pace a little. Place is a pub, I can’t say it’s a bright lighted place. It could use a little more life. Would I come back? Maybe. I give it a 3.5
Santos R — Google review
I found this place in the Bring Fido app and went because I thought it would be dog friendly. It was hot and my server didn’t bring our dogs water. We ordered and waited over 10 minutes for a beer and a drink. Walking past the bar on the way to the bathroom, we saw our drinks sitting there. By the time they came to the table, the ice cubes in the drink had watered it down and he did not bring a glass with the can of beer. Our waiter was clearly distracted or angry or he just hates his job. When our neighbors asked for to go box, he brought a small one. When they pointed to their plates (almost full) and asked for a bigger box, he came back and literally threw it at their table. This was, by far, the worst service I’ve experienced in a long time. The neighborhood is rough and while we were there a large group on bikes came and allowed their kids to do bike tricks right next to the tables making the dogs afraid and all of us sitting outside very uncomfortable. Everything about this place screamed NOT WELCOMING!!! The food was alright when it finally came, though he got our burger toppings wrong and my friends hush puppies were completely raw on the inside. We won’t be back and as for “dog friendly” - no. We sat there over an hour in the hot sun and were never offered any water for our dogs. I ended up putting my glass of water in the floor for the dogs to have a drink! No thank you!
Kytka — Google review
The steak wasn't seasoned enough for me and contained more fat than meat. The fries as a side tasted way better. The margarita was on point but the other drink (called bitty something) was bland. Overall good atmosphere and decent food. If I were back in the area though, I would try another place before coming back.
ALA M — Google review
The rating is respective of the place, not overall in the restaurant landscape. It’s what I call a little dusty, divey, with good food and college town specials. Three of us had a burger, a chimichurri chicken and Chic-Fil-Loosey’s Nashville Hot, all with hand cut fries cooked perfectly crisp. The burger was decent sized and cooked well, tasted fresh as did the full set-up, and the chimichurri chicken was good and daughter made it disappear quickly. The Nashville hot was great, crispy, moist and very spicy! I’d do it again! They also have music on weekend nights when we’ve been there. And it’s a good mix of students and some locals, and visiting parents. It has plenty of outdoor seating when then weather’s nice and let’s are welcome. The Sunday drink specials was happy hour all day, great specialty cocktails and Mocktails, I had the $2 PBR tall boy since I was feeling retro collegiate. 🤪 We’ve been about 4-5 over the years and will continue to support them since we all enjoy the place and the service from Elliott was spot on, bravo!!
FL C — Google review
From groups of people playing trivia to excellent food, to music I didn't like, to watching hockey on TV, Loosey's was perfect. First there was a line of people outside waiting to order and get seats for the upcoming trivia game. I waited, though I did not play. Inside was a bar that was quite full, loud and very busy. It is a bar. Finally ordered my dinner, it is expensive at Loosey's, be ready to pay. I had the 14 oz Prime Rib Steak. IT WAS PRIME. Best damn steak I have eaten in many years. The fries that came with it were crunchy and delicious. I also ordered a Loosey Salad. It to was great. The servers were all very good and made sure everything was just perfect. Was the food, service and atmosphere worth the $40 price tag for one person? ABSOLUTELY!!!!! I very highly recommend Loosey's.

Best veggie burger I’ve ever had. Also we are GNV locals and we had our wedding rehearsal lunch, wedding after party, and ended up grabbing brunch here the day after our wedding 😂😂 service was spectacular each time. Wedding or not, get the truffle fries!
Blair L — Google review
Laid back Saturday, cloudy with a chance of rain. I pop in and try some beer samples before going with the cucumber basil gin cocktail, mermaid something 😉 (it’s really good and strong ok) Then I decide to apply for a part time gig bc the vibes are immaculate here. They are playing a 90s playlist called “songs you heard in the back seat of your mom’s car.” I then order the kimchi burnt ends and cheese truffle fries and live a life happily ever after bc this place is a special gem in downtown GNV.

This was our first time here. All the food we ordered came out great, fresh and tasty. Server was friendly and attentive. Restaurant was very clean and tidy even the bathrooms to my surprise, and it was nice that they also had a baby changing station since I was traveling with a baby.

Really disappointed they were out of the fried gator tail. Overall food was good. Nice portions. Tasty. Atmosphere was good. Local band playing during dinner. Some locals and band family at the bar enjoying. Nice place to come to. Good atmosphere. The outside area had another band playing just prior. Kids playing. Adults drinking. Nice chill place.

The food, service, and atmosphere was perfect! My server was very kind and attentive and my lobster bisque was light yet delicious and the shrimp and grits were heavenly and decadent. Not to be forgotten, the cocktails were also exquisite and not too strong. The performers were outstanding and really got the room excited for every single song they played! We had a great time just sitting there and listening.

Been wanting to visit this place for a while and I was not disappointed. It was very lively and packed on a Saturday night, but my boyfriend and I still got seated right away. We chose to sit outside because the music is very very loud, which I enjoyed but I still wanted to be able to hear so outside ended up being perfect. We actually got a table that afforded some privacy even with how busy it was which was nice. Our waiter was super attentive and friendly. Our food came out fairly quickly. We started with the crab and shrimp dip which was pretty good, although I felt it could’ve been a bit more creamy and less liquidy. Nevertheless I enjoyed it. My boyfriend and I shared the crab cakes. I really liked them and the fries that they came with and sharing this appetizer and dinner was enough to fill us up. As for the drinks my boyfriend originally ordered a spicy margarita which he did not like because it was spicier than he expected. Luckily, our waitress was very nice for swapping out the drink and not charging. He ordered a traditional margarita which he enjoyed much more. I ordered the strawberry daiquiri which was pretty big, but not as strong as I expected. It didn’t taste like it had any alcohol. Still I enjoyed the drink. Overall I really enjoyed my experience here and will be returning. Compared to some other restaurants in celebration pointe, this place is not as expensive while still delivering good food and service.
Britney M — Google review
My wife and I had a wonderful diner and enjoyed the piano music on the night of our visit. The food was simply amazing and the presentation was really nice. Service was great and the atmosphere was even better with all the restaurant joining in with the music and songs being played. It made for a very fun night out together.
RICHARD B — Google review
Our waitress was great and they played all the songs we requested. Our waitress name was Destiny I believe and she checked on us all night even after dinner. We just had two appetizers and the portion was so much we couldn't even finish it all. My son had the coconut shrimp which where huge I finished his last one and I had the chilli loaded chips I had to take the rest home in a box. We went Saturday night stopped in before a movie. We were having so much fun we skipped the movie and returned the next night for another exciting time. My son so inspired we had to go get him a new keyboard.
Linkon S — Google review
Came here to see a friend play in his Jazz Band. Very nice atmosphere and great food but a bit pricey. Quality was fantastic and food was made very well. I believe the higher premium I pay in price is due to the entertainment and location/atmosphere which is well worth the experience. Overall great food, service and entertainment!
Alexander N — Google review
I love the location in the heart of celebration point. The ambience is light and chill. Definitely a great place to chill and have a drink. We did not eat in this trip due to us coming from a good event. Visited around 9pm on a Saturday and they had a piano act. I love loud things but this was on the edge of not tolerable. Couldn’t talk over it for just chatting amongst friends. The singing and play was nice do t get me wrong. Just needed a touch lower on the speakers. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Table order mango margarita, regular margarita and a Long Island. The margaritas were fantastic but the Long Island was a bust. Seemed watery and too much sour for a Long Island but maybe just a one off. Really loved the Mango one. Power went out but they did everything possible to keep it moving. Want to return for food next time. Total recommend at this point.

Nestled in the heart of Gainesville, Vivid Music Hall stands out as a vibrant hub for music lovers and party-goers alike. This venue, formerly known as Knockin Boots Saloon and once 8 Seconds, has transformed into the largest private nightclub in downtown. With its spacious layout, it’s an ideal spot for hosting private events or simply enjoying a night out with friends. The location is convenient too—right on University Ave and adjacent to a parking garage, making access easy for visitors.
Went to see Noah Hunton in concert with Kip Moore and Kellie McFarland performing as well!! First time visiting the venue and had a good time! Not sure if I'm a fan of the rubbery mat where everyone stands or not I think it is was made my back and feet hurt more as it is a stand up only venue But yes i would return for another concert it was all around a very good venue and atmosphere!!

Drove here from port Richey to see a show last night. The venue was great from beginning to end! Security was polite. Bartenders were fantastic and friendly. The manager, Josh, was very helpful with any questions I had. The venue itself is intimate with standing room below and balconies with seating above. I prefer a low capacity place to enjoy music. The bathroom was clean (5 stars for sure for this). Located close enough to the Hampton Inn to walk to and from.

It was cold as all git out! Went to see comedian Shuler Ki g. Mr. King was great. I laughed so hard my stomach hurt. Now let me say...this is Florida and this was at the end of the cold wave. I know heat in a venue like this is not an option. The chairs were flimsy. Made for 1st graders. We kept waiting for them to break under someone, but they didn't. This works as a stand-up venue. 10000 Sq ft sounds big, but it's not. With all that being said. The price was great. And I would hazard a return for another comedian.

I remember A LONG TIME AGO when this place was 8 Seconds, a country music dance club. It is currently a pretty decent concert venue. I went for the Wake and Bake weekend with Less than Jake. It was a full weekend of punk bands. The venue is right on University Ave and right next to a parking garage. It was so easy to park and make the short walk to get in. The line wasn't too long, and it moved quickly. The staff at the door, as well as inside, were kind and friendly. There was just a really nice, chill vibe at this place. Security was visible, and I felt safe at all times. The bar was well staffed, so it was quick and easy to get a drink. The drinks were a little pricey, but definitely reasonable, and I would say average priced for a concert venue. There was plenty of space, and the sound quality was decent. I would definitely come to other events at this location in the future.

I had never heard of or been to this place before. It was a bigger room than I was expecting. I was appreciative to them bringing my favorite comedian (Shuler King) to their business. It did get cold in the building after a while but I guess that's normal.

Nice size venue. I was surprised at how big the venue was when I first walked in. Great view no matter where you stand. Two bars inside and an upstairs balcony area. Clean restrooms. Will happily attended future shows here.

Pretty cool place! Emo night was interesting! I really thought people were going to put on their best outfits from back in the day and lol maybe like 10 people out of the whole crowd. I also expected more out of Emo music but it was giving pop (aka Taylor swift) goes slightly screamy. I don’t get it lol. Maybe there’s a playlist somewhere but one in advance would have definitely been nice to know about. The servers are really friendly, people in the crowd are polite, vip section is nice if you’re an introvert. I glanced over at the bathrooms and thankfully the Publix ones down stairs by the bar didn’t seem overwhelming! I was expecting to hear bands like : flyleaf, Hawthorne heights, the used, underoath, story of the year, escape the fate … was not lol. But it was still a good time. It was just more like pop twisted to Emo ? Lol. Idk I just felt too “goth” for Emo night. 👀😂💀 Also idk where the trash can for the vip section was ?? There wasn’t one in the bathroom either.

Located near the historic Hippodrome theater in Downtown Gainesville, Boca Fiesta offers Mexican cuisine with a Floridian twist. The restaurant features a variety of tacos including gator and vegetarian options, along with an extensive list of tequila brands and beers. With an upstairs bar and downstairs stage hosting local and touring acts, Boca Fiesta is a lively spot for entertainment. Additionally, its outdoor patio provides a charming setting for dining.
The shrimp taco was my absolute favorite, but the fish, beef, and chicken tacos were all delicious too! Customer service was fantastic. We initially ordered takeout but decided to dine in at the last minute, and they were incredibly accommodating. The food was amazing – definitely recommend and will definitely be back!"

The food was amazing and the margs were even better!! The al pastor tacos were our favorite taco!

The make-your-own guacamole is bad; they only provide avocado, minced garlic, salt and pepper. Tacos are quite tasty. I recommend fish tacos and gator tacos. Also, I enjoy the atmosphere in this restaurant.
Yu Z — Google review
The fish tacos are out of this world!! So we were visiting Gainesville the weekend that UF had it's graduation weekend, and all restaurants were super packed including this one. The wait time was 2 hours. But they had enough space for us to be seated at the bar in the back and then get take out (which was ~20 mins). The Moscow mule was pretty good (for just $5) and the tacos were yummy. Shrimp and steak tacos were good, but the fish taco was just freaking amazing!

The food was amazing we had chorizo and queso blackened fish tacos and a Gator burrito bowl all of it was absolutely delicious the service we received from Maggie was simply amazing she took fantastic care of us and the atmosphere is very laid back and comfortable ive been here many times and intend on coming back a few more times

The tacos were so delicious we returned for another meal before leaving this week. They have 2 for $5 on Taco Tuesdays and other specials the rest of the week. Be sure to let your server know if you don’t like cilantro. Everything was delicious, but I was especially fond of the Tempeh tacos, so flavorful! The salsa and chips taste fresh and the salsa has a kick. The service is fast and friendly at the bar. The dinosaur/fossil theme is great. However it can get a little noisy inside and difficult to hear. They do have outdoor seating.
K C — Google review
Delicious food in a cool, eclectic atmosphere. Adorable outdoor patio seating. Great for vegetarians because they have TVP and tempeh that you can sub in any dish. The chimichanga with tvp and smothered in queso is to die for! And while you're eating, look around and spot all the hidden dinosaurs!

Hostess was polite and the restaurant was clean. Husband ordered the gator taco and enjoyed it. I had the mistake of ordering the nachos, not nearly enough toppings to equate the $12 they cost. I eventually was able to flag down my server and requested some more tomatoes which were scarce. She eventually returned with a small cup of tomatoes. I asked for a substitution of cheese to the vegan queso they offered. If you decide to try your luck here do yourself a favor and skip the nachos, as you'll be vastly disappointed. The server didnt check on us often and charged me for the tomatoes which was rather annoying. We probably won't return or recommend.

One Love Cafe in Gainesville is a charming spot for a casual dining experience. The cafe offers a large covered space and picnic tables set across a grassy field, making it perfect for families. What sets this place apart is its commitment to sourcing ingredients locally, resulting in farm-to-table meals and collaborations with local bakeries. The menu features a variety of options, including pasta, sandwiches, and salads with vegan or gluten-free choices.
Wow, haven't been here in a while, but it was a great evening with karaoke 😀 and chatting with the vendors in the Farmer's Market. It was a beautiful breezy night! Kat was an awesome karaoke host, and everyone was having a great time! Service was great, and the food full of flavor; but mine was really oily. You could see it soaked through the paper and the bread. 😬 Over all a great experience!🤩

One Live cafe has a lot of character and great vibes! They have plenty of outdoor seating with a stage that always has live music. When you walk up, you must enter the building to order your food, then you get a number and have to find a table. Since it’s first come first serve, it can sometimes be hard to find an open spot if it’s a Friday night. The food itself is pretty good but has small portions (I’m small so me not getting enough is pretty difficult to do). There is also a big field that kids use to play sports or just run around. They have a full service bar with great cocktail options, a public restroom and plenty of parking.

A one-of-a-kind gem in Gainesville! It’s got amazing live music almost every day, and great drinks. Both a neighborhood spot but open and friendly to everyone alike. I could see this place becoming a very hot spot in the near future. Super kid friendly. An overall good vibe. 🥰

Went here as I was passing through for my puppies surgery and had a few hours to kill. It is dog friendly and the gave bowls for water for them. I got the One Love Club and Cowboy beans. Both were good. I also special requested the Spiked Strawberry Lemonade. It is such a relaxing place to just hang out at. I was able to sit with my tablet and snack for about an hour or so before his surgery. Staff was really friendly and there was no rush to go anywhere. I was I was able to experience the live music, but I had to fly back out the same day. I would definitely be back when I’m in the area. Just check the hours on their menu as they do close between lunch and dinner. It is an open restaurant, no indoor seating, but there were also no bugs, which was lovely!! I was just happy to find a place that I could take my dog and not be rushed.

Plus they had one of my favorite bourbons - couldn’t go wrong!!

Traditional American restaurant

The Swamp Restaurant is a popular game-day destination for college football enthusiasts, offering a laid-back atmosphere and a wide selection of American cuisine and drinks. Established in 1994, it has become an integral part of the Gainesville community and is located near the renowned Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
While it’s not the same as when it was on University, the Swamp is still one of the best places to catch a game in Gainesville. There is a large outdoor seating area where they project whatever the main game is that night. If you want to watch a game and get an outside seat, get there at least an hour before kickoff or you’ll be out of luck. There is a first and second floor with indoor seating, and patio upstairs seating. All tables are full service with food and drinks. The food is about what you would expect from a sports bar. On Fridays, they have Free Beer Fridays. You pay $10 each for a wristband and can get unlimited refills. I’m not sure what beer they use for this but you definitely get your money’s worth. There is no parking directly by the restaurant, so plan to do city parking nearby. There’s usually parallel spots available down the road.

We've been coming to Swamp since it was in the original location. The food has always been good. We came twice during our visit this time, and dinner and lunch were both delicious. I'm so glad they now have the beyond burger! For dinner I had the southwest salad, which was amazing, and for lunch I had the beyond burger. They have quite a varied menu, so there's something for everyone. Lauren and Trinity helped us at the bar and we're wonderful! The atmosphere is great for families and students alike.

This spot is serving up some good bar food and is perfect for game-nights. However, coming here to catch up with a friend was a bit difficult in the loud setting inside. My power wrap was great with the seasoned soy protein and hummus to moisten things up. I was happy to see some vegan options on the menu. Be careful with the sides though as the seasonal vegetable may come with bacon!

Visit The Swamp Restaurant today for the first time and meet Mesha who was my waitress and is great at what she do and also committed on my gators wear. I already knew i wanted to order gator bites so asked Mesha for a recommendation on an entree cause i want to eat lite. So she recommended the Cesar salad wrap but i ordered broccoli with it which everything was delicious and seasoned evenly. It started off with 2 customers including me some how in restaurant 30 minutes later it became really packed with customers but with only 2 waitress working i watched them work doing a wonderful job in a unbelievable busy moment. Ask for Mesha a sweet person and knows what she's doing.

Tierby and Kylie were absolutely amazing during my visit to The Swamp! Their service was warm, attentive, and made the whole dining experience feel special. Definitely ask for them if you visit

Friday night before a game, so the place was nuts! Loud, crowded and loads of fun. Burgers were outstanding but pretty small.. pulled pork and Philly cheesesteak were just average. Portions definitely in the small side. But lots of fun!

We have been here twice, and both were very good! They make a great hamburger, the Freshman 15, and their brunch options, like the Bourbon French Toast, are superb. The waitresses here are highly attentive and kind. The atmosphere is quite homey and exudes a college town feel, yet feels as if it belongs in a small town. Overall, this restaurant is one of the best in Gainesville, and is a great place to have a burger and their salads and fries a awesome!

Baby J’s Bar, a newcomer to the Gainesville music scene, opened its doors in 2021 as an audiophile cocktail bar inspired by Japanese Jazz kissas. The establishment offers a chill and upscale ambiance, making it a great spot to meet up with friends. While the drinks are somewhat pricey, they are well-crafted and patrons have the option to customize their orders. The bar also hosts live music events featuring talented artists and bands.
Baby J's Bar is so awesome!!! Food is always on point and drinks are killer. Their music is a perfect mix of 80s to 90s to newer music and always jamming. Their happy hour bites and drinks always hit the spot.

We recently hosted a private event and it was wonderful. The whole team was really easy to work with during the planning process and very communicative. Baby J’s is our go to spot for a night out. The cocktails are *amazing* and the live jazz is fantastic. They do a good happy hour, but most of the live music starts a bit later. Only a couple decent restaurants. Parking is not great and you have to walk too far to get to anything since there is little shade and the concrete is hot. Businesses are all over priced. The only reason to go there is the nicest movie theater in town or pick up sushi. The new sports facility just makes the place less convenient as any event disrupts the traffic pattern.

Best theater around. Movies really come alive in the rooms in this theater. Such a thrill to watch anything on the screen. The audio sounds superb and the electric recliners are very nice. Except sometimes my pocket in my pants presses the button and I start reclining or declining automatically. I am a tall guy so while being fully reclined, there is still plenty of room for anyone to pass by in front of the row. The concessions also sell a variety of food which tastes great and is full of nutrition. I love the reserve seating feature, you no longer have to rush in to find your seat, however you might have to ask someone to get out of your seat and/or get authority to help you ask them to move. Can't wait to go again.

Rockeys Dueling Piano Bar is a lively lounge in Gainesville, offering live music, stand-up comedy, and open-mic nights for poets and musicians. The self-proclaimed best piano show in the country takes place Thursday through Saturday, fueled by audience requests. Guests can reserve a table to enjoy reasonably priced drinks while singing along to their favorite songs performed by pianists. This unique nightlife experience allows patrons to sing on stage or request their favorite tunes.
This place is off the charts fun. An amazing group a musicians, and in a good way, comedians. The energy is absolutely electric, and the way that they get the crowd participating in the music just has a way of sending pure joy throughout the crowd. What's even crazier, is that it is a very inexpensive night to go and have a lot of fun. If you show up before 9:00 p.m., they usually don't charge a cover. What does advice, do bring you a little bit of cash so that you can request a specific song. Get there early so you can get a table near the front.

Always a great time at rockeys. The pianists are incredible and know how to get the crowd going. The drinks are alright but a bit overpriced. They always run out of glasses and switch to plastic towards the end of the night. Watch out on your birthday they will ridicule you on stage if you would like for a free shot. I opted out of that lol.

This place had some of the most talented pianists I have seen at a dueling piano bar in a while! They can play/sing almost anything. Very fun spot!
Patricia M — Google review
It doesn't hold up to the old-school dueling piano bars of Chicago or New Orleans, but they do a great job with requests, keep the drinks flowing, and the staff went out of their way to accommodate our party of 3. They didn't charge us anything to reserve a table front and center, and they were even cool enough to take funny pics with us so the morning after, sober versions of ourselves could enjoy the night all over again. Great for date night!
Abby M — Google review
Great atmosphere! Have gone with friends and family in town alike and all enjoyed the evening! Sometimes guest pianists will come into town and play, adding to the fun! A little more busy at the beginning and end of the school year but still usually able to find a table.

This bar has a very good staff and a nice dance floor and stage , and gcould be packed every night if only they would bring in decent dance music and productions . People like to dance or women like to dance and men drinlk more trying to meet the ladies . To the owners this is a hint to increase productivity.

Some of my favorite nights out in Gainesville have been seeing bands at this venue. There are two doors to access outside smoking areas where drinks are permitted that link together around the side. Its also pushed up against the arcade bar so there are multiple people from different bars mingling together on this outside area. Sometimes the sound is a little muddled when seeing a show, but they get some pretty amazing bands.

In addition to crafting their own beers on-site, Tall Paul's also hosts the Alligator Brewing Co., which operates a nanobrewery at the back of the establishment.
I had a great experience here. As a solo business traveler I enjoyed great conversation. They brew their own beer, and have other great options. The staff was friendly. The bartender Mandy was excellent! She's friendly and has a high level of knowledge about their beers. I met one of the brewers Jack, and I enjoyed talking to him about their brews.
Jeff A — Google review
Great location, and finally gives me a reason to go downtown. It's very new, and that still shows, but it has plenty of space and a very large bar, so ordering drinks is not as difficult as some other, cozier places. Very good beer selection too, especially given how new it is. Prices are average to cheaper than average. I'll be back many times!
Nick S — Google review
Really neat location. Looks like it was an old warehouse or something, but it's been beautifully restored. Lots of bar seating and plenty of tables too. Very spacious, and on cool nights, they open up the huge, sliding glass windows. Great tap, bottle, and wine selections with good prices. Foosball and shuffleboard tables. GREAT music selections (they had a mix of MJ, James Brown, Marvin Gaye, Beatles, rap, etc., when I was there). There is something for everyone, which was apparent because there were so many different types of people there.
Carly R — Google review
The good beer selection was about all I liked about this place. The doorman was incredibly rude, the bartenders were somewhat rude, and the foosball table sucks. My friend ordered a golden ale and got what was definitely a hefeweizen. Not only that, but she was given a glass that was 2/3 full and the bartender explained that that beer usually comes in a smaller glass but they were out of those. I would never do something like that if I was serving! Lastly, it was very, very loud in there, and the live music was not enjoyable at that volume.
Marzen P — Google review
Good selection of beer. They have cover bands in here frequently, and consequently charge cover on said evenings. I'd personally be okay with that, if the building didn't have terrible acoustics. If you want to have a conversation without screaming, go elsewhere.
Kevin S — Google review
This place is amazing. The people there are very friendly, people that work there are even more so, I have no idea what crawled up Mr./Mrs. paperbutt's... well butt, but I have never had a bad experience there. the bar games are free, TV's everywhere, amazing artwork on the walls and some of the best beers I've found in this place. after being there only a couple times people knew me by name and I've never had problems with getting beer. If you are uncertain about what something tastes like they do not hesitate to give you a sample. It can get loud during Gator game nights or when there is live entertainment but use your head, if you don't like a loud environment, don't go in there on these nights. they have free darts, fussball, shuffle board, giant connect four, ring toss, and now have a skeeball game.
Lucas R — Google review
The bartender was friendly and they do allow outside food, which is really nice. However, the location is more of a sports bar than a typical brewery taproom, and their house beers (Alligator Brewing Co) tasted kind of funky, like they might have been accidentally contaminated with bret.
Robin C — Google review
If you like beer, don't prefer mid, and don't want to feel like you're dressing up in your sunday's finest to go downtown: go here. Alligator Brewing is an operation behind the bar always supplying the taps with great beers; Tall Paul's always has a large selection of guest taps to try. Go on a weekend for live music and a crowd; go on a weeknight to have the chance to learn about the beers they're offering at the time from your bartender. Open space, and things to do (shuffleboard, darts, jumbo connect-four, etc)

The new building is great! They have put a lot of thought into the sound system and acoustics; bands are sounding great! This is my spot when I want Satchel's, order to go and they'll bring it right over to the bar for pickup. Excellent service staff and atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Went to Satchels after the Gator Nationals.Decided to have a few beers at Lightning Salvage while we waited for a table . We ended up staying at LS and having pizza and salad. All very good. Afterwards went exploring thru all the very cool rooms and areas

The Great Southern Music Hall, established in 1949 with a capacity of 7,000 seats, was the leading indoor venue for national musical acts until the opening of the Great Southern Music Hall. Over the years, it hosted an impressive lineup of renowned artists such as Simon and Garfunkel, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, and many more. The music hall is highly recommended for students due to its exceptional services for renting instruments, taking lessons, and making purchases.
The guys in the repair shop are great. I brought in an old brass piano lamp that has seen better days. They were able to bend it back into shape and rejoin a broken piece. It was an unorthodox repair, and I was very happy with the results.
Xavier C — Google review
Great Southern Music is a great, family oriented place. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and polite. The teachers are knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and have thriving performance careers. I see parents drop their kids off for lessons and shop while they wait. If people feel safe leaving their children then it must be a great place!
Marge — Google review
The staff is fantastic! Everyone is knowledgeable and clearly loves working here! I got a few flute repairs here and the job was great every single time! This is by far the best music store in town!
Emma L — Google review
Great Place/Great People. Took my guitar in here after having it "set up" at another place. My guitar is an old super strat with rare parts on it, and the first place just didn't know how to work on it and actually messed it up pretty bad. Took it to Great Southern and Andrew was AWESOME! Fixed all the mess up the guy did before then set it up. Again, it was not a 'standard' project or set up but Andrew nailed it. Everyone in the place super nice, very cool and earnestly like dealing with clients. Recommend this place to anyone that needs an instrument worked on. Just great. Thanks again.
George A — Google review
I am a local violin teacher, and I recently came to Great Southern Music with a student's violin that needed some significant work. Tom was extremely friendly, knowledgable, and helpful, and he went above and beyond to help me. He did an excellent job with the violin, and I will certainly come again. I would recommend this place to anyone!
Erik H — Google review
This is by far the best student music store in the county. It's unfortunate that we didn't find it until 3 years after my son started playing. We chose another local shop and had the worst experience. We have since found we were not alone in that experience. Just go here, rent here, service here, buy here, and take your lessons here. No reason not to. None.
Chuck M — Google review
Im a homeless traveling banjo player. I have been through this town 2 times, and im telling you this place is the best hands down. The staff is friendly, the techs know there stuff. Not to mention if they can't help you there not afraid to tell you who can. This place will go out of its way to make sure you get the help you need, even if that means sending you elsewhere. All i can say is thank you..
Ephraim S — Google review
The store has a great selection of instruments and offers short term as well as long term rentals. I rented a viola and I am very happy about it. The rental process was smooth thanks to Jimena’s attentive help. When I first called, Luke provided answers to all the questions I had. Both Jimena and Luke made me feel very welcome at the store. The customer service was truly exceptional. Strongly recommended to anyone who is looking for instrument rentals in the greater Gainesville area.

I love this place! Every time I go it gets better and better! New owners and management have made great improvements! No liquor, yet, but I understand they are working on getting their license. Lots of cold craft beers, though, and wine! The burlesque shows are always entertaining.
Lisa A — Google review
Love this place! After a ten year hiatus, Market Street is back and kicking ass all over again. Great beer selection, great service, great physical space. They frequently have live music, burlesque shows, and variety shows. This place feels like home.
Eric C — Google review
I normally don't like burlesque but I came with a group of friends for the Lord of the Rings tribute. 100% entertainment. Worth the 2 hour drive I made to get here. It was awesome! If you like being entertained, you'll like this.
Cheryl M — Google review
Simply the best variety of live entertainment in downtown Gainesville. No better way to spend an evening than being lucky enough to catch any one of high quality performances here.
IAN H — Google review
Wi-fi, plenty of tables with comfy chairs, and really good prices on local craft brews! This would be a great place to hang out and play tabletop games.
Jessica A — Google review
Great local spot! Tons of live entertainment or something going on almost every night. Great drinks and good selection of bottles and draughts
Erika H — Google review
Entertainment here is top notch and like nothing else you'll see in town. The drinks however... Feels like a bar on their last legs, which is sad. **EDIT** Looks like I was right, this bar is now closed permanently.

Nice venue staff was professional and courteous also very kind they're all so interested in the Outlaws
Russ R — Google review
I have only been once for a concert, but it is a great venue. It is nice because there are different levels so you can see the stage even from the back of the venue. Their acoustics were good and the bar was great too! Overall great experience and I wish there were more concerts there
Katie S — Google review
Went to see Postmodern Jukebox. While the show was excellent, it was freezing cold inside, even though we were packed in and dancing. I paid for reserved floor seating because I went with my elderly mother, and was disappointed to find that the seats were tiny, uncomfortable and slightly unsteady plastic folding chairs.
Kelly C — Google review
Best described as "janky" at best. This place was old, no a/c, alright sound system and acoustics. People were tripping over stairs due to the poor safety and darkness along with it being extra cramped and so extraordinarily hot due to no a/c.
C J — Google review
Facilities are kinda janky, but the concert venue is great, nice acoustics.
