Taj Mahal, a 17th-century Mughal-style marble mausoleum located in Agra, India, is a breathtaking symbol of love and architectural mastery. Built by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, it is described as an "elegy created in marble" and an "expression of true love." The monument's symmetrical gardens, minarets, and mosque add to its grandeur.
A timeless masterpiece — truly beyond words Visiting the Taj Mahal was an unforgettable experience. No photo or video can ever capture its real beauty — you have to stand before it to feel the magic. The white marble shines differently at every moment of the day, and the reflection in the Yamuna adds even more charm. In the early morning, arriving about 30 minutes before sunrise (when the entry gates open) gave me a practically peaceful moment — a soft golden glow on the marble, fewer crowds, and a calmness you rarely find later in the day. (The monument normally opens 30 minutes before sunrise and closes 30 minutes before sunset.) The place is very well maintained. Security checks were strict but smooth. The ticket-counters for the western and eastern gates started about an hour before sunrise and operate until about 45 minutes before sunset. ✓ Here are the details I noted: Opening/Closing Time: Opens around 30 minutes before sunrise, closes around 30 minutes before sunset. ✓ Closed on Fridays (to general visitors) due to the afternoon prayers at the mosque in the complex. ✓ Ticket charges: For Indian residents: approx ₹50 for general entry (children under 15 are free). ✓ For citizens of SAARC/BIMSTEC countries: approx ₹540,For other foreign nationals: approx ₹1,100 general entry. ✓ Additional mausoleum access: If you want to go inside the main mausoleum chamber, there is an extra charge of ₹200 for all categories. Overall, it’s a wonder that truly lives up to its reputation — a symbol of love and architectural perfection. A must-visit at least once in a lifetime!

What a beauty! It's mesmerising and I visited it on a Monday so there was lesser crowd. Our guide was very helpful and knowledgeable and very patiently and calmly showed us around. He was super generous in clicking our pictures as well. All in all it was an amazing experience to finally see The Taj Mahal. It's not over hyped at all, one should definitely visit.
Sakshi B — Google review
We visited the majestic Taj Mahal, and it was truly a breathtaking experience — the white marble, the peaceful atmosphere, and the historical beauty make it one of the most memorable places I’ve ever seen. Our main highlight was the visit to the Taj Mahal — one of the most stunning monuments in the world. The moment you enter, the white marble, detailed carvings, and reflection on the water leave you speechless. It truly lives up to its reputation as one of the 7 Wonders of the World. 💰 Entry Ticket: For Indian visitors: ₹50 (at main gate) For foreigners: around ₹1,100 Kids below 15 years: Free entry 🕒 Timings: Open from 6:00 AM to 6:30 PM (closed on Fridays) Best time to visit: Early morning or sunset for fewer crowds and cooler weather 🧹 Cleanliness: The entire Taj Mahal complex is very clean and well-maintained. There are dustbins everywhere, the lawns are trimmed, and shoes must be removed or covered before entering the marble platform, keeping it spotless. 👮 Security & Safety: Security is very strict — bags are scanned, and large items or food are not allowed inside. The security staff are polite and helpful. The area feels completely safe for solo travelers and families. 🚻 Facilities: Clean washrooms, drinking water points, guides available in multiple languages, and separate lines for men and women make the visit smooth and comfortable.

We visited Taj Mahal today and it was amazing! This wonder of the world is a must visit if you're in North India and not to be missed. The vast white marble based mughal architecture is breathtaking and sits within it's well curated gardens. This is easily one of the best monuments I've visited in my life. We prebooked foreigner tickets online for INR1100 and arrived in the afternoon. There are 3 entry points and the West entry we used also has carts that take you to the security check point for INR20. Entry to the mausoleum was included in the ticket and you need to cover your shoes before entry and you can get free shoe covers from the counter close to the entry. There are photography free areas and the mausoleum is one place where you need to avoid using cameras. Highly recommended a visit but also recommend researching in advance to avoid getting scammed. There's a lot of people trying to sell you items or services especially at Taj Mahal which sometimes can turn into harrassment or scams. But apart from the touts, overcrowding and tour guides queue jumping with their groups as if they're VIPs, this is an amazing place to visit.

The Taj Mahal is quite simply the most beautiful building on earth. Forget the photos—seeing this marble monument in person is a transcendental experience. Built as a testament to eternal love, its flawless Mughal architecture and perfect symmetry dazzle the eye. The white marble changes colour with the light, from soft pink at dawn to glowing gold at sunset, making an early morning visit a necessity. While the crowds can be intense, the sheer visual perfection and historical weight of the Taj make it an undeniable, must-see wonder of the world. One should buy disposable shoe from outside if they are visiting inside the Taj. One can enjoy food outside. There are electric taxi to pic and drop to parking stand at east gate entry.
Nitesh T — Google review
It’s really a place for true love. I felt really amazed by seeing the way the building has been structured in those days when technology was minimal. I suggest everyone to Atleast visit once in lifetime to see this wonder. I would personally suggest you to book tickets online which saves lot of your time. Be careful when you are choosing a guide talk to different guide because there are discrepancies in the price. Else it’s a wonderful experience.

I visited Taj Mahal with my friend on 12th Oct 25, which was Sunday and honestly speaking, I was amazed by the beauty and weather in Agra! The polishing and shiny Taj Mahal was super fun and yet peaaceful, to gaze at. Overall experience was v tiring but worth gettting tired for! ∆) Best time to Visit: As most of the people are free in weekends, I suggest you not to go there after 10am, as it is very very crowdy and you won't be able to enjoy the peoceful environment, so best time is 6am-9am on weekends and holidays, whereas on Weekdays you can go anytime. ∆) How to reach: By Train, reach Agra Cantt opr Agra Fort stn, and then come out of the stn area straight forward and then take an E-rickshaw just for 20pp₹! (Yes I was amazed too!) Dont fall in auto's trap they'll charge you anywhere btw 100-200₹ §) Personal recommendation: If you're eager to watch Yamuna river flowing behind it, only then take tickets of Mausoleum, otherwise you'd feel that your 200₹ were a waste (I felt it too that day!) ∆) Agra's Food: I came out of Taj Mahal, and there was a Panipuri wala, and OMG! what Panipuris he had!!! The best in my life I eer had! Also as we all know Agra is famous for its Petha, I recommend that when you go back to your home after visiting Agra Fort (Agra's Red Fort), buy Pethas otw from Panchhi(Best and Og Pethas!) ∆) Tickets: 50₹pp for entry in the premises, 200₹pp extra for visiting the mausoleum PS: Gave it 4 star as some amenities were irritating there (I had problem in keeping my bag, had to pay 20₹ even when the racks were empty in Cloakroom near checking zone, and they made me run a lot too) Please like my comment if you all find it helpful ;)

The Taj Mahal is truly one of the most breathtaking places I’ve ever seen. The moment you step inside the complex, you can feel a sense of peace and wonder. The white marble structure looks absolutely stunning, especially when sunlight hits it — it almost seems to glow! The symmetry, carvings, and detailed marble work show how skilled and creative the builders were. It’s not just a monument, it’s a symbol of love and dedication that you can actually feel while standing there. The gardens around it are beautifully maintained, and the reflection of the Taj in the water makes the view even more magical. Whether you’re visiting for history, photography, or just curiosity, the Taj Mahal leaves you amazed. It truly deserves its place as one of the Seven Wonders of the World — a masterpiece that everyone should experience at least once in their life.

Chini Ka Rauza is a significant monument in Agra, built in the 1630s as the tomb of Afzal Khan, a Persian poet and minister during Shah Jahan's reign. It is known for its distinctive decoration made from glazed tiles imported from China, featuring turquoise, yellow, green, and orange colors. This Indo-Persian structure showcases intricate paintings and Islamic inscriptions.
Hidden gem of architecture in Agra on the bank of river Yamuna. The ceramic inlay makes this place special & it's a protected monument so those who wish to visit should get info about logistics and it's 100% worth visiting.

Along the river beyond Itimad ud Daula's tomb, lies another less grand one of another Mughal wazir. The blue and green tiles of the facade can be imagined from the few that remain but the real treasure lies on the inside, where the colours of the walls and ceiling are how they must have been when the mausoleum was first constructed. Lovely river views and a sweet garden. The ASI has been working to upgrade this morning monument.
Nive F — Google review
A Hidden Gem of Agra! Chini Ka Rauza is one of the most underrated historical monuments in Agra. The Persian-style architecture, colorful glazed tile work (which gives it the name “Chini”), and peaceful surroundings make it a great place for those who love history and art. Unlike the crowded Taj Mahal, this place is calm and serene — perfect for photography and quiet exploration. I visited with my wife and we really enjoyed the calm atmosphere and intricate Mughal-era craftsmanship. The best time to visit is early morning or evening when the sunlight beautifully reflects on the tiles. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to see Agra beyond the Taj Mahal!

A forgotten monument located the Agra city. Its a tomb of former prime minister of mughal court. The maintenance of this monument is very poor.Only few tourists visit here.Entrance path is also not maintained. No ticket required.it must have been very beautiful monument in its full glory.Niw inly few patches of blue and green tiles design are visible. If local do not suggest to visit here.

Chini ka Rauza contains the tomb of Afzal Khan Shirazi who was the wazir of Shah Jahan. It was built in 1630s. Afzal Khan also served as a Prime Minister under Shah Jahan. The walls have glazed tile work known as Chini. The work though wearing off due to climatic conditions still allows us a glimpse of how beautiful it must have been.Located on the banks of Yamuna the building is neglected and desperately needs some restoration. Unfortunately very few tourists visit it which is a pity. It is probably one of the few buildings, if not the only one with Persian architec government or a corporate restores this to its original beauty.Entry is free.
Khushroo C — Google review
No entry fees. Open from 8.00 am to 5.00 pm. Quite sad to see how a historically important monument is so poorly maintained. People, especially the locals use this more as a public playground or a park for recreational activities. The beautiful and intricate paintings on the walls are falling off. Currently undergoing renovations.
Haseen M — Google review
Its a beautiful mausoleum but in a very bad state. A.S.I should take proper care and maintain the tomb. It has beautiful intricate art work on the facade. This place is being damage by climatic conditions and more over by the locals living nearby. I was around there at 7 in the morning and still the main gate was closed so I couldn't go in but what we saw as a monument on the banks of River Yamuna was beautiful.
Priyanka D — Google review
It is in dilapidated condition,it was made of blue tiles but almost all of them now gone away from its walls.this tomb is completely neglected by ASI. dome is amazing from inside, beautifully painted. Take a view of Agra city from the river side.

Gurudwara Guru Ka Taal is a significant religious site in Agra, commemorating the spot where Guru Teg Bahadur Ji surrendered to Aurangzeb. The gurdwara, constructed in the 1970s, holds historical artifacts and features ornate architecture and gardens. It is believed that four out of the ten Sikh gurus have visited this place, making it a popular pilgrimage site.
Gurudwara Sahib Guru Ki Taal is a serene and spiritual place that beautifully embodies the essence of faith and community. The architecture is impressive, and the atmosphere is peaceful, making it a perfect spot for reflection and prayer. The sangat (congregation) is warm and welcoming, and the langar (community kitchen) serves delicious meals to all visitors. It’s a wonderful place to learn about Sikh culture and traditions. The staff is helpful, and they offer guided tours for those interested in understanding the significance of the location. Make sure to spend some time here if you're in Agra—you won't regret it!"
Karan S — Google review
Visiting a Gurudwara is always a peaceful and spiritual experience. As soon as I entered, I felt a sense of calmness and positivity. The melodious sound of Gurbani kirtan created a divine atmosphere, filling my heart with devotion. Before going inside, I covered my head and washed my hands and feet as a mark of respect. Inside the prayer hall, people sat quietly, listening to the recitation of the holy Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Everyone, irrespective of caste, creed, or religion, sat together on the floor, which made me realize the true meaning of equality. After offering my prayers, I went to the Langar hall, where simple but delicious food was being served to all. The spirit of seva (selfless service) touched me deeply, as people volunteered with smiles on their faces. The whole experience taught me lessons of humility, equality, and humanity. A Gurudwara is not just a place of worship but also a symbol of love, service, and unity.

It is a truly beautiful and peaceful place. The entire structure looks like a bright white palace, radiating serenity and devotion. The atmosphere is calm and soothing, making it a perfect spot to sit quietly and reflect. A must-visit place in Agra for peace of mind and spiritual vibes.

Gurudwara Guru Ka Taal is dedicated to the memory of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, the 9th Sikh Guru. It marks the place where Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji voluntarily surrendered to the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb in 1675, before being taken to Delhi where he was later martyred.

Taj Museum, located within the Taj Mahal complex in Agra, is a popular museum showcasing architectural drawings of the iconic monument, Mughal miniature paintings, weaponry, and jade objects. Established in 1982 at the behest of Lord Curzon, it is housed in a double-storied building with three galleries featuring plans and drawings of the Taj Mahal, antique objects like Quran stands and swords, as well as royal Farmans.
Taj mahal designs are based on Arabic cultures like Alhambra palace at Granada, Spain. That means queen and king were Persian at that time.

I had a good experience at the Taj Museum. It has a lot of interesting history and displays about the Taj Mahal. The museum is well-maintained, and the exhibits are informative. It’s a great place to learn more about the history and beauty of the Taj Mahal. I really enjoyed looking at the engineering drawings of Taj Mahal.

The Taj Mahal Museum, located inside the Taj Mahal complex, is a hidden gem for history lovers. Established in 1982, it showcases rare artifacts, Mughal coins, ancient manuscripts, paintings, calligraphy, and original architectural drawings of the Taj. The weapons and royal utensils give a glimpse of the Mughal lifestyle. The museum is small but well organized and maintained, providing deep insight into the making of the Taj Mahal and its cultural importance. Entry is included with Taj Mahal ticket, so do not miss it while visiting. A must-visit for those who want to experience the story behind this world wonder more closely.

Housed in the Jal Mahal (Water Palace) near the western entrance, the museum displays original Mughal manuscripts, architectural drawings, royal farmans (decrees), coins, and tools used during construction. Itmad-ud-Daulah's Tomb, also known as the Baby Taj, is a stunning Mughal-style mausoleum located on the east bank of the Yamuna River near central Agra. Commissioned by Nur Jahan for her father, it is considered a precursor to the Taj Mahal due to its architectural style. The tomb is made entirely of marble and features intricate marble inlay work, delicate carvings, and beautiful lattice screens.
Our recent visit to the Tomb of Itmad-ud-Daula was a really good experience, a nice change from the usual super-crowded tourist spots in Agra. The place is right next to the road, so it's easy to get to. We bought our tickets from the counter, which is just to the left as you enter the main gate. It only cost us ₹25 per person. The whole complex is so well-kept, hats off to the department taking care of it. Even when the sun was blazing, the gardens were so green and well-maintained that it felt cool and pleasant. The main monument has a red stone frame at the entrance, and inside, there's this beautiful white marble building. To go inside the marble monument, we had to remove our footwear at the foot stand on the left. We went without a guide and saw that most people were doing the same. It was nice to just walk around, observe the tiny patterns, and later, we looked up some info on the internet to learn more. A big plus was that there were no sellers bothering us to buy things, which is a rare thing at tourist places here. The inside of the structure is also very good. It's a great spot for taking photos, and for people who love nature, you can see the Yamuna River from the side. The cool breeze from the river really made the experience even better. They do have a washroom facility, but when we went, the staff told us there was no water. Overall, it was a very good experience, especially compared to the other overcrowded places in Agra.

Nothing better than this. How could we not know about such beautiful monument. Amazing, marvellous, majestic. Taj Mahal is huge but this is intricate, subtle, nuanced, artistic and amazing. Must visit
Nikita S — Google review
It's a very beautiful and peaceful place. The intricate details on the white marble really show the amount of dedication that was put into it while the construction of the monument. Then there is the place along the Yamuna river which is just so serene in itself, it just takes you back in time just by entering the space.

Baby Taj Mahal – Agra’s Hidden Gem: Before the world marveled at the grandeur of the Taj Mahal, Agra already held a delicate treasure — the Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah, lovingly called the Baby Taj Mahal. Built by Nur Jahan in memory of her father, Mirza Ghiyas Beg, this white marble mausoleum is smaller in size but immense in elegance. Its intricate pietra dura inlay work and Persian-inspired architecture whisper tales of love, devotion, and artistry from the Mughal era. Walking through its serene gardens, you can almost hear history breathe — a story of a daughter honoring her father, a city blossoming with architectural dreams, and a hint of the iconic Taj Mahal yet to come. For travelers who love history, art, and hidden gems, Baby Taj Mahal is a quiet reminder that beauty often lies in the details

Forget the Taj Mahal for a Moment — Let’s Talk About the “Baby Taj” When you think of Agra, the Taj Mahal instantly steals the spotlight. But on my last trip, I found a quieter, more personal gem that completely surprised me — Itmad-ud-Daula, lovingly nicknamed the “Baby Taj.” And while people often call it a smaller version of the Taj, I’d say that’s underselling it. This place isn’t a copy — it’s the prototype, and it has a charm that’s all its own. Built by Empress Nur Jahan for her father, Mirza Ghiyas Beg (titled Itmad-ud-Daula, meaning “Pillar of the State”), this tomb is really a story of love and gratitude carved in marble. You can actually feel that emotion when you walk in — it’s not just about grandeur here, it’s about intimacy and devotion. The first thing that caught my eye wasn’t its size, but the details. The white marble surface is delicately inlaid with colorful semi-precious stones — this art form, known as pietra dura, was used here long before the Taj. Every inch feels handcrafted with care. I spent ages just tracing the patterns with my eyes — tiny floral motifs, geometric designs, and that magical latticework (jaalis) that filters sunlight into soft, golden patterns on the floor. What I loved most was the peace. After the chaos of the Taj Mahal crowds, Itmad-ud-Daula felt like a deep breath. I sat under a shady tree in the Charbagh garden, just listening to birds and watching the Yamuna River flow by. It’s so calm that you almost forget you’re in one of India’s busiest tourist cities. For photographers, this place is heaven. The symmetry, the play of light and shadow, and the gentle afternoon glow on white marble — you barely need filters. If you can, visit around sunset; the golden light makes the marble glow softly, and it’s pure magic. So, my honest take? Don’t rush through this one. Visit Itmad-ud-Daula before the Taj Mahal — it’s the perfect introduction to Mughal artistry and the emotional depth behind it. Think of it as the quiet prelude to the Taj’s grand performance. For me, this little tomb ended up being one of my favorite memories from Agra — not because it’s the biggest or the most famous, but because it feels personal. It’s a daughter’s love story, immortalized in stone. And honestly, it’s one you shouldn’t miss.
Weaning P — Google review
Our visit to the Baby Taj (Itimad-ud-Daulah) with friends was a surprisingly delightful and serene highlight of our Agra trip, offering a more intimate and peaceful experience compared to its grander counterpart. Often called the "jewel box" or a "draft of the Taj Mahal," this exquisite mausoleum captivated us with its intricate marble inlay work, delicate pietra dura designs, and beautiful gardens along the Yamuna River. Without the overwhelming crowds, we could truly appreciate the craftsmanship up close, wandering through the charbagh gardens and taking stunning photographs of the detailed mosaics and lattice screens. It felt like discovering a hidden gem—a perfect blend of history, art, and tranquility. The calm atmosphere made it ideal for a relaxed yet culturally rich outing with friends, sparking conversations about Mughal architecture and the moving love story behind its creation. For anyone touring Agra, the Baby Taj is an absolute must-see for its understated elegance and historical significance—a peaceful retreat that beautifully showcases the artistry that inspired the Taj Mahal itself.

Often overshadowed by its more famous counterpart, the Itmad-ud-Daula's Tomb, or "Baby Taj," is an absolute must-visit in Agra. Stepping into this monument is like discovering a hidden gem. The serene gardens and the peaceful atmosphere provide a tranquil escape from the bustling city.

The Tomb of Mariam-Uz-Zamani is a Mughal mausoleum in Agra, originally a Lodi Dynasty pavilion. Built by Emperor Jahangir in 1627 to honor his mother, Queen Mariam-Uz-Zamani, it showcases a blend of traditional and distinctive architectural styles. Located near Fatehpur Sikri on the Delhi-Agra National Highway, it's just a kilometer away from Akbar's tomb.
Tomb of Mariam (Akbar's mother). Completely Hidden and lowkey, almost no crowd on weekdays, very tranquil place to sit or walk and enjoy the birds chirping. It's very close to Akbar's Tomb, just across the same road, 50-100m inside in the left. You have to take the ticket online (there is a counter here, but the guy sitting there will tell you the same thing 🤣).
Pratyush — Google review
Sometimes, the most memorable places aren’t the ones on every postcard — they’re the ones you stumble upon, tucked away from the chaos of traffic and tour groups. That’s exactly how I felt visiting Mariam’s Tomb in Agra. No crowds. No rush. Just birdsong, early morning sun, and the slow, graceful unfolding of Mughal history. It’s a little tricky to find — the road leading up to it is narrow and a bit bumpy, and honestly, not many locals seemed to know about it when I asked for directions. But that almost added to its hidden-gem charm. When I finally reached the gates, I was greeted by stillness — not the eerie kind, but the kind that wraps around you like a shawl. Peaceful, understated, and timeless. The tomb belongs to Mariam-uz-Zamani, also known as Harka Bai — a Rajput princess from Amber (modern-day Jaipur), and one of the most important women in the Mughal Empire. She was the wife of Emperor Akbar and the mother of Jahangir (Salim), and yet, her tomb is devoid of the pomp and spectacle that marks other royal Mughal monuments. And that’s what makes it even more touching — there’s quiet dignity here, an elegance that doesn’t shout. Interestingly, this wasn’t always a tomb. It was originally a pleasure pavilion built by Sultan Sikander Lodi in 1495 AD, well before the Mughals arrived. It was only in 1623 AD, during Jahangir’s reign, that the structure was transformed into a tomb for his mother. The original baradari (12-doored pavilion) now houses over 40 chambers on the ground floor, many with faint remnants of painted plaster walls — ghostly, but beautiful in their decay. The central cenotaph of Mariam rests on the ground floor, but climb up to the upper level, and you’ll find a marble cenotaph open to the sky, as if deliberately designed to invite the heavens in. The architecture is classic Mughal but not overbearing — red sandstone façades, adorned with finely carved geometric patterns, and topped with octagonal corner towers, each crowned with delicate chhatris (pavilions). It’s restrained, tasteful, and deeply harmonious with the lush gardens that surround it. I went in the early morning, and I highly recommend you do the same. The sunrise light hits the sandstone just right, giving it a soft, amber glow. The only sounds were my footsteps, the rustle of trees, and the occasional cooing of pigeons. What struck me most was how well-maintained the site was, despite being relatively unknown. It felt like a little slice of forgotten history, lovingly preserved for those who take the trouble to look for it. I spent nearly an hour just sitting under one of the shady trees, reading and soaking in the atmosphere. But a word of caution: While the monument's remoteness and quiet is its greatest aspect, please be aware of people, especially young adult boys, hanging around the inside of the monument in small groups, apparently doing nothing much. I found one such group sitting on the stairs leading to the tomb in the basement, and there was something about them I did not like, because of which I did not go ahead and went out instead. If you are with family, especially young children, women or girls, I would suggest you err on the side of caution, despite there being 1-2 guards I saw at the entrance to the monument.

Good place to visit with family. Easy access. Need to purchase tickets which cost 25 inr with only upi payment. Historic place to teach kids about Mughal Architecture. Actually Mariam Uz Zamani title was given to Queen Jodha Bai by King Akbar. This tomb was built by her Son Jahangir after her death.

"Mariam's Tomb is a lovely place to visit, and it doesn’t take much time to explore. There’s no rush, so it’s perfect for a peaceful visit. I recommend going in the morning to enjoy the beautiful sunrise. It’s a serene spot worth visiting."

The architecture of tomb is good. There is not much to see here. The complex is small compared to other tombs. Tourist crowd is less. The local crowd is more. It is much more of a lover's point for love birds. You can see them inside dark corners. Tickets are only online here. There is no offline booking.

The tomb of Mariam-uz-Zamani (Akbar's wife who is sometimes mistakenly called Jodha Bai) located in Agra. During the Lodi period, it was an open baradari on which the tomb was later constructed. This structure holds an important place in domeless architecture in which a wonderful combination of chhajjas, chhatris and toras has been done.

Agra Fort, also known as the Lal Qila or Red Fort, is a historically rich UNESCO World Heritage Site made of stunning red sandstone. This semi-circular fort complex boasts double ramparts and various monuments within its 2.5km length. It has endured attacks and natural disasters over the centuries, showcasing the architectural marvel and Mughal power in Indian history.
UNESCO world heritage site..marvel in red stones.. one of largest mughal fort in India..it's soo vast.. hindu islamic architecture marvel.. must visit in a life time😇 The drainage systems and the air conditionioning techniques used are unbelievable.. amazing to see fountains in that time. You should buy online tickets in advance.. the booking closes 24hrs or before. It's told in official website that ADA tax needs to be filled only once per day. But in all monuments, they busy money 10 per person against government norms. I only pre booked in taj mahal and forgot to buy all online tickets. On asking about the ADA tax already filled, the person in ticket counter argued with me and they proved nothing goes by law. This, if you buy online tickets in advance, you can visit every monument in agra with onetime ADA tax. Don't be confused by timing needed to cover taj mahal and as we didn't booked advanced ticket to other agra places. You can have good view of it in 3 to 4 hrs ..

Very nice place rich in heritage from the Mughal era . Must visit Agra Fort, located on the banks of the Yamuna River in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of India’s greatest Mughal monuments. Built by Emperor Akbar in 1565 using red sandstone, it was later enhanced with marble structures by Shah Jahan. The fort served as the main residence of Mughal emperors and is known for its grand palaces, halls, and mosques like the Jahangir Mahal, Diwan-i-Am, and Moti Masjid. Shah Jahan was imprisoned here by his son Aurangzeb and spent his last days gazing at the Taj Mahal from the Musamman Burj. Agra Fort stands as a symbol of Mughal power, art, and history.

I visited the Agra Palace today and it was brilliant. This is a UNESCO world heritage site and was the place where all Mughal emperors lived. Previously home to 500+ Mughal buildings, now only 30 remain after being demolished by ShahJahan and the British. I booked the tickets online and visited around 7am which was the best time as there were no crowds and the visit was peaceful. It seems to be an easier to visit monument compared to Taj Mahal. Highly recommended!

Visiting Agra Fort was a fascinating experience. The fort's strategic design and imposing architecture reflect the brilliance and power of the Mughal era. Walking through its red sandstone walls, I couldn't help but imagine the grandeur that once filled its halls - a true reminder of India's immense wealth and how it was eventually plundered. It's a place that brings history to life and deepens your respect for the country's past.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Must-Visit Historical Marvel! Agra Fort is an incredible example of Mughal architecture and a must-visit for anyone coming to Agra. The fort complex has many important monuments inside, such as Diwan-i-Aam (Hall of Public Audience), Diwan-i-Khas (Hall of Private Audience), Jahangiri Mahal, Sheesh Mahal, Moti Masjid, and more — each with its own fascinating history and royal stories. I highly recommend hiring a local guide inside the fort. They explain the history, architecture, and interesting facts of each place in a very informative and engaging way. You can easily get a good local guide inside the fort for around ₹300 (not more than that) for Indian visitors — totally worth it for the rich experience you’ll have. The fort is well-maintained, offers beautiful views of the Taj Mahal from certain points, and gives a real sense of Mughal power and legacy. It’s not just a monument — it’s a walk through history.

“The Mughal Secret Garden You Didn’t Know You Needed” Tucked quietly inside Agra Fort, Anguri Bagh is where symmetry meets serenity. Once a royal retreat for Mughal queens, this garden isn't just about grapes (yes, “Anguri” means grapes) — it’s about grace. The geometric flower beds, the marble fountains, and that breathtaking view of the white pavilions around it... you’ll forget the chaos outside. Stand at the center, close your eyes — you can almost hear the veiled laughter of the royal zenana and the splash of fountains long silenced by time. Perfect spot for: ✅ Jaw-dropping photos ✅ That calm, meditative moment ✅ Imagining you’re in a Mughal fairytale 📍Tip: Visit early morning for the best light and the least crowd. This isn’t just a garden. It’s poetry in marble and grass. #AnguriBagh #HiddenGemOfAgra #MughalRetreat #ZenanaVibes #AgraFortDiaries

Anguri Bagh (Garden of Grapes) was built in 1637 by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan for the royal women to enjoy the finest grapes and flowers from its garden, featuring a central fountain and surrounded by red sandstone arcades and the Khas Mahal. It served as a private and principal square of the zenana (women's apartments) within the larger Agra Fort, which was the main residence of Mughal emperors until the capital moved to Delhi in 1638.
Abhishek R — Google review
Anguri Bagh, or the "Garden of Grapes," is a hidden jewel nestled within the magnificent Agra Fort. While many visitors rush through the fort's main sights, a moment spent in this beautifully laid-out Mughal garden offers a rare and peaceful glimpse into the private world of Mughal royalty.Historical significance: Built by Emperor Shah Jahan in 1637, the garden was once the principal square for the royal ladies' quarters, or zenana. The garden was a private space where they could relax and socialize in complete privacy. Symmetrical beauty: As a classic charbagh (four-quartered) garden, Anguri Bagh captivates with its intricate geometric patterns. The symmetrical layout of green lawns and marble walkways creates a perfectly balanced and pleasing aesthetic. Peaceful atmosphere: In contrast to the bustling crowds elsewhere in the fort, Anguri Bagh provides a sense of calm and serenity. It's an ideal spot to sit for a few minutes, away from the noise, and reflect on the historical importance of your surroundings. Photography opportunities: The garden offers many excellent photo ops. The contrasting colors of the manicured greenery, the red sandstone walkways, and the white marble Khas Mahal provide a stunning backdrop for your pictures. Things to keep in mind: Some areas are not accessible: While you can admire the garden from a distance or from the adjoining palaces, access to the lawn itself is sometimes restricted. Fountains are not always working: While the central fountain is a key feature, it is often not operational. Even so, the overall grandeur of the space remains. Manage expectations on "grapes": The name "Anguri Bagh" refers to the lush grapevines that once thrived here. Today, only a handful of climbers remain, but the name evokes the garden's former splendor.

Beautiful 😍 Anguri or Grape garden built in Mughal style. Maintained very well as a part of Agra fort tourist 👏 attraction. There are fountains ⛲️ also located in it but they were not working when we visited. Agra fort ticket is 50 rs for Indians and 650 rs for foreigners. It takes 10 rs via metro to reach here from Taj mahal 👌.

This was basically a grape garden surrounded by the residences of the royal ladies (Zenana) and was believed to produce the choicest grapes. It was constructed in the normal Mughal Char Bagh type garden structure with elevated pathways. There is a fountain in the centre of the criss-cross pathways. Unfortunately it is no longer functioning. It is still a beautiful place, through the grapes have long been forgotten! Very well-preserved.

Worst water park in the north of India. Park rules are played 24/7 on repeat. Very annoying. Water very dirty. Many pool areas are closed. 650 rupees is way too expensive for what you get.

I visited Dolphin Waterpark recently and had a great time overall! I really liked the rides, especially the ones designed for kids — they had so much fun and truly enjoyed themselves. The food was also really good but limited options. The staff was okay — nothing exceptional but decent enough. Price is little high in comparison with other water park but it is a nice place for a family outing!

A good water park to chill😎 out in Agra..! The ticket costs around 650 inr and 50 rs for swim suit per person. But the problem is that it is far away from the main city. Otherwise it was great experience to be there. Staff is well trained and also behave well but one thing to keep in mind that there is no drinking water facility inside the park you just have to purchase new water bottles from the canteen which costs around 30 rupees and you just have to buy a new bottle again and again cos you feel more thirsty due to the heat in summer and the long walk you take inside the park😄 So keep this in mind.

It feels like ur just in water nothing more like there is not tingling sensation or relaxing it's jut u are in water.! Plus if your weight is 95+ u should not ride water slides as it's not safe around curves at high speed.! Wave pool is good but it only runs for 20 minutes at a time and runs 3 times per day. As for distance, it's preety far if u are coming from core agra. Price is a bit above the average I would say.! Rest it's ok just ok.!

The Tomb of Akbar, also known as the Tomb of Akbar the Great, is a magnificent 17th-century Mughal mausoleum located in the Sikandra suburb. This opulent structure was commissioned by Emperor Akbar and serves as his final resting place. The tomb is a tribute to his revered status and Muslim faith, showcasing stunning architecture made of marble and red sandstone. The entrance features a striking gateway adorned with minarets and intricate geometric and floral patterns.
I am into photography, i visited here somewhere around 6:30 AM. It took hardly 10 mins for me to get the ticket which i purchased online and kept my bag at the locker and reach the entrance on Sunday. Hardly there was any crowd that time other than the locals. The place is very calm and peaceful. I was there for some 2-3 hours relaxing and exploring the place, clicking photographs. The place will offer you parking facilities, eating points outside the monument, water facilities, public toilets, lockers obviously for keeping bags and they will give the key to you once you lock it.

Surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens and deer roaming freely, the complex perfectly blends tranquility and grandeur. Built between 1605–1613 by Akbar’s son Jahangir, this monument reflects Akbar’s own vision and secular ideals.(Because himself Akbar have started the development ). The design combines red sandstone and white marble, with intricate geometric patterns, Persian calligraphy, and delicate lattice screens. The main gateway—adorned with four tall minarets—shows strong influences of both Islamic and Hindu architectural elements, symbolizing Akbar’s philosophy of religious tolerance. The tomb itself lies in the center of a vast charbagh (four-quartered garden), representing paradise in Islamic tradition. Each detail—from the symmetrical layout to the use of inlay work—highlights the artistic excellence of the Mughal era. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, an architecture lover, or just someone seeking serenity away from the Taj Mahal’s crowds, the Tomb of Akbar offers a truly enriching experience.

Great architecture and art, simple, elegant, massive. The burial room is so simple, it's difficult to believe that there lies one of the most powerful and great emperor. Red stone wirh white works, the colourful frescos inside is awe-inspiring. Must visit place

Beautiful place worth to visit. Entry fee 310 rupees for foreigners or 250 if you buy online. A bit far from Agra center but on the way you can visit a beautiful Sikh temple too

The Tomb of Akbar is a truly wonderful and well-maintained historical site that offers a peaceful and enriching experience. My recent visit was very satisfying, and I highly recommend it. Right from the start, we were impressed. There's plenty of parking available, and the entry fee is a very reasonable ₹25 per person. The place immediately welcomes you with a beautifully maintained garden. The greenery is absolutely fascinating, filled with a wide variety of trees that provide ample shade and shelter for countless squirrels and peacocks. There are even stone benches along the pathways, perfect for relaxing and taking in the serene atmosphere. Security guards at the entrance verified our tickets, and the entire compound was very clean and well-kept. We explored the main tomb and appreciated its details, which we supplemented with some online research. A big plus was that the place was not crowded, which made it easier to enjoy the monument and its history at our own pace. You can enter all areas with your footwear except for the main section with Akbar's tomb. Inside the same compound, to the right of the main entrance, you'll find another monument called Kanj Mahal. It's great that a single ticket covers entry to both, giving you more to see. While guides were available, we opted to explore on our own. We also had a pleasant experience with a seller who sold us a fridge magnet at a very fair price like 5 pieces for 100, which was a refreshing change as we didn't encounter any pushy vendors trying to sell overpriced souvenirs. The site also has washrooms, which is always a good thing to note. Overall, it was a very well-rounded and satisfying experience.

It's such a beautiful place, so old, but just as magestic. It's peaceful, and secluded, not too crowded. But the maintenance need to be better for such an important historical place, to preserve its essence.

Taj Nature Walk is a serene 70-hectare wooded park located near the Taj Mahal in Agra. It offers paved walking trails, picnic spots, and viewpoints with peaceful views of the iconic monument. Developed by the Social Forestry Division of Agra, this nature reserve provides a tranquil escape from the bustling city. Visitors can enjoy quiet walks and admire diverse flora and fauna while taking in scenic vistas of the Taj Mahal from different angles along the trail.
it is a good complex, worth the walk, or the ride! is well done overall! definitely worth a visit, it’s more for the view and to walk around. nothing really to complain about, it a huge amount of information which is actually a nice and suitable decision for this particular occasion!

The Taj Nature Walk in Agra is a hidden gem that offers a tranquil escape from the bustling city and a unique perspective of the Taj Mahal. The lush greenery, well-maintained trails, and vibrant flora and fauna make it a refreshing experience for nature enthusiasts. The park's serene atmosphere, coupled with occasional glimpses of the Taj Mahal from different vantage points, is truly breathtaking. It's a perfect spot for a peaceful morning or evening stroll, photography, or simply unwinding amidst nature. The chirping birds and fresh air add to the charm, making it a must-visit for those who appreciate the beauty of both nature and history.

Taj nature walk cost 150 rupees for foreigners and 50 rupees for nationals. It would have been great if there was someone who wiped the benches inside the park so we could sit and enjoy the peaceful tranquility of nature. Some signage would help . Nature has lots of wild birds especially peacocks dancing around. There were three monkeys but they didn't bother us. Some areas of the walks are a bit scary especially where personal security is concerned. Although my wife and I did not feel threatened, someone alone may feel afraid. I don't think there are any security cameras. I am not trying to discourage you from visiting this place. I am just sharing my thoughts and feelings. It took us an hour to walk around. You can see the Taj Mahal at two view points. There are also tracks between bushes which later connect to the main concrete tracks. There is a canteen inside but it is closed. There is a playground for kids and a grass field for picnics. I don't know if you can take food inside but photography cameras are forbidden. Cellphone is ok. I think the best time is early morning or late afternoon.

Taj Nature Walk is a peaceful green escape near the Taj Mahal with serene trails, lush trees, and unique views of the monument. Great for nature lovers, families, and those looking to unwind. You’ll spot birds and peacocks, enjoy clean surroundings, and find plenty of spots for photos. Highly recommended for a quiet break away from the crowds! It’s a must visit.

The nature walk in Agra was something I did to occupy myself as the Taj Mahal is shut on Fridays. It surprised me the amount of birds I seen and heard singing throughout the whole place. It’s family friendly, has a park for children to play and a small exercise section. You can easily spend a few hours just walking around the paths and it provides a nice green escape from the noise around the Taj Mahal
Nicholas D — Google review
Not so well maintained nature walk. Some trails are leading that will make you lost. Some parts were not even cleaned up. You can see parts of Taj Mahal, some animals such as peacocks and some common birds. April was not the best month to visit as it's so hot.

You will not believe why you are going to see on these trails… You must follow the trail for better angles of Taj Mahal after visiting it from front….

Kalakriti culture and convention centre is a grand cultural hub in Agra, offering art exhibits, live Bollywood-style shows about the Taj Mahal, and a store with marble inlay works, crafts, furniture, jewelry, woodworks, and more. Visitors can enjoy the popular play 'Mohabbat-e-Taj' and explore the art of Agra including marble inlay work, carpet making, wooden sculptures, and cotton clothes.
If you are going to buy a souvenir from Agra that reflects the pietra dura or Petra dura or inlays that you see in the Taj Mahal, this would be the place. I came here 10 years ago and it’s still the same place with high standards and a dedicated staff of stone workers. Did we buy something last time-yes! Did we this time-OF COURSE. You need to see the craftsmen at work. It’s an excellent demonstration. There is a shrine to when the CLINTON’S were in office. I guess they hope you are democrats lol.

A jack of all trades here! Absolutely stunning and unique display of marble creations. In my opinion, one of the most beautiful places I've seen this type of work. It is such intricate work that these artists craft to create such masterpieces. We stopped to shop, then returned in the early evening for a beautiful orchestrated theater show of the Taj Mahal love story. The entertainment was lively, heart felt, and so vibrant. They don't allow photography/video during the show. You can take photos after the show. They also offered photos with the performers for 200 rupiah. The building itself is quite large, with plenty of rooms and a variety of gifts. I can say one can go on quite the shopping spree here.

Elegant. Everything is handmade with precious stones. Can be delivered to your home FedEx or UPS. They have dining room tables & chairs larger than my dining room. WOW! All of it is beautiful. I purchased a chess set/table lamp. Anything that plugs in & has the orange stones, the orange stones glow. Very neat! I like the lamps because of that.

A Beautiful Blend of Culture and Art! Kalakriti is one of the finest cultural attractions in Agra. The Mohabbat-e-Taj live show is a unique theatrical experience that showcases the history and love story behind the Taj Mahal with impressive sets, lights, and performances. The venue is well-maintained, air-conditioned, and comfortable for tourists. Great audio translation system for international visitors. Also has a good handicraft store showcasing local art and marble work. A great way to spend an evening after visiting the Taj! Highly recommended for families and cultural enthusiasts. 🎭🇮🇳

One stop place showcasing the art works of Agra....Marble inlay work, Carpet making, wooden sculptures, cotton clothes etc. All the artefacts were beautiful but a bit over priced. They have a stage show depicting the history behind the making of the Taj Mahal. Excellent musical drama...all the actors , their costumes, sets were very good. The Model of Taj Mahal made by their artists using Makarana marble (which is used to build the original Taj Mahal.)..which they display on the stage towards the end of the show is worth watching and praiseworthy.Outstanding workmanship.

While acknowledging that this is a tourist trap, its still a very high end one with exquisite craft work. No hard sell, great demonstration of the craft. I'm sure I didn't get the very best price, but I feel comfortable with what I paid and it was certainly value for money. Make sure you see all the display rooms. They start you in the high end room slowly let you see the cheaper items in the other rooms once they sense you're not gonna blow huge bucks. That said, had my wife been with me to jointly pick something out, I would have likely spent a thousand or two on something really spectacular, rather than the $450 I ended up spending.

Diwan-I-Am is a significant structure located within the Red Fort complex in Agra. It is an audience hall built with red sandstone and features intricate arched colonnades. The hall was used for public audiences, celebrations, and public prayers. The architecture includes cloisters on three sides of a rectangular courtyard, with white lime polished arches and a triple arched royal canopy adorned with lavish pietra dura ornamentation.
The Diwan-i-Am, also known as the Hall of Public Audience, is a significant structure within the Agra Fort, built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. It served as the place where the emperor would address the public and hear their grievances. The building is primarily constructed of red sandstone, but has a white plaster finish that resembles marble. It features a flat roof supported by nine arches and three aisles. The rear of the hall houses the Throne Room, which is made of marble and inlaid with precious stones
Falak J — Google review
Diwan-i-Khas: Jewel of Mughal Architecture, is situated within Agra Fort in Uttar Pradesh, India, stands as a magnificent testament to Mughal architectural brilliance. This exquisite hall embodies the artistic sophistication and grandeur that characterized the empire at its height. Built in 1635 during Emperor Shah Jahan's reign, Diwan-i-Khas served as a private audience hall where the emperor received foreign ambassadors, nobles, and dignitaries to discuss matters of state. Beyond its political function, the hall's opulent design showcases the Mughal court's seamless blend of elegance and authority. The structure features two distinct sections, an outer columned hall and an inner chamber called Tambi Khana. The outer hall captivates visitors with its intricately carved marble pillars adorned with semi-precious stone inlays. These pillars display vibrant floral patterns, a signature element of Mughal decorative art that celebrates nature's beauty. Open on three sides with five graceful arches supported by ornate double columns, the hall creates an airy atmosphere. This thoughtful design allows natural light to flood the space while providing uninterrupted views of the surroundings, perfectly suited to its royal purpose. The hall's flat wooden ceiling, originally embellished with gold and silver leaf, represents one of its most striking features. This sumptuous decoration would have reflected sunlight, creating a dazzling effect throughout the space. Though time has diminished some of this splendor, remnants of the intricate work continue to mesmerize visitors. The interior walls feature delicate floral inlay work and Persian inscriptions that add cultural and artistic depth. Diwan-i-Khas holds profound historical significance beyond its architectural beauty. Emperor Shah Jahan conducted official ceremonies here, received foreign envoys, and made decisions that shaped the empire's future. The hall also hosted cultural gatherings, highlighting the court's patronage of the arts. One of the hall's most famous associations is with the legendary Peacock Throne. This extraordinary creation, encrusted with precious gems, originally resided in Diwan-i-Khas before being moved to Delhi's Red Fort. This connection further enhances the hall's historical importance. Located within Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its massive red sandstone walls, Diwan-i-Khas benefits from the fort's rich historical context. The fort served as the primary residence of Mughal emperors until the capital relocated to Delhi. Within this complex, Diwan-i-Khas occupies a strategic position near the emperor's quarters, offering visitors insight into Mughal governance and lifestyle. The hall's setting enhances its charm. From its open arches, visitors enjoy serene views of the Yamuna River and glimpses of the Taj Mahal in the distance. This harmonious integration of natural beauty and architectural refinement creates a peaceful atmosphere. Surrounding Diwan-i-Khas are verdant gardens and peaceful courtyards that contrast beautifully with Agra Fort's imposing architecture. These green spaces invite contemplation of the site's rich historical and cultural significance. Walking through Diwan-i-Khas transports visitors to an era of imperial splendor. Its detailed craftsmanship and historical importance leave a lasting impression, providing a window into Shah Jahan's reign and the Mughal era's cultural heritage. Diwan-i-Khas transcends being merely an architectural wonder; it stands as a living monument to the artistry, diplomacy, and luxury of the Mughal Empire, an essential destination for history enthusiasts, architecture admirers, and anyone seeking connection with India's illustrious past.

Made in marble, this 'jharokha' with a three-arched opening and inlaid with precious stones, was known as the 'Takht-i-Murassa' (the Throne Room). This chamber was connected to the royal apartments and the royal ladies could watch the ceremonials of the Diwan-i-Am through the marble windows with perforated screens on the right and left of the enperor's chamber, while not being seen by those in the hall. The marble dias below this chamber was known as 'Baithak'. It used to serve as the seat for Wazir, who presented petitions to the emperor. It is said that the hall used to have silver balustrades for the nobility, where they could stand according to their ranks and the outlines of the columns and the spandrels were done in gold.

Diwan-i-Khas or the Hall of Private Audience was used by the Mughal Emperors for the reception of important (khaas) guests such as kings, ambassadors and nobles in private and to deal with important matters that concerned the state. It was constructed in 1635, with two halls. It had a wooden ceiling covered with gold and silver to imitate the rays of the sun. It is open on three sides, and entry is through five arched entrances. The chambers are decorated with highly intricate inlay work.

“History echoes in every arch!” The Diwan-i-Aam isn’t just a hall — it’s a time machine. You walk through these scalloped arches and suddenly you're in the 1600s, standing exactly where commoners once pleaded their cases before the mighty Mughal emperor. It’s grand, yet grounded. Humble red sandstone pillars with royal symmetry. And that throne area? You can feel the weight of decisions once made there — love, justice, war, fate. Pro tip: Stand in the center of the hall and clap. The acoustics still carry your voice like whispers of the past. 📸 A must-click for architecture lovers, history nerds, and anyone who’s ever wanted to walk through a Netflix period drama set. #DiwanIAam #AgraFortChronicles #LostInHistory #MughalMajesty #EchoesOfThePast

Very Nice place, History: A result of earliest manifestation of Shah Jehan's love for marble, Diwan-I-Am or Hall of Public Audience was the place where the emperor addressed the general public as well as the nobility. Constructed between 1631-40, it is situated close to Machchhi Bhawan. The huge assembly hall measuring 201' by 67' has flat roof and two arched red sandstone gateways to the north and south. The façade has an arcade with nine bold arches and the hall is divided into three aisles. Though the building was constructed in red sandstone, yet it had been plastered with white shell plaster to resemble the white marble. The raised rectangular chamber from where the emperor addressed the people was ostentatiously ornamented. Diwan-I-Am is the Hall of Public Audience. This hall was built by Shah Jahan. The hall was first built using red sandstone but was later shell-plastered, giving it a look of white marble. Agra Fort is a beautifully built fort and has great historic significance. The place is well maintained and we had a great time here. The information boards providing the information about the history associated with the place were also very helpful in appreciating the place further. The view of the Taj Mahal from the fort is also a very pleasant sight. For more details you can refer to wayfareradi.wordpress[dot]com

December 2024 update: I can no longer recommend this place for birding and bird photography. There is new fencing all along the road inside the premises now, making most good spots inaccessible. The "core zone" (where most of the birds and a watch tower are) can no longer be entered, even on foot. This is all for the betterment of wildlife, I guess, but there's not much for visitors now. Old review: Excellent place for birding and bird photography, especially in winters when a lot of migratory birds visit. Note that the lake and most of the good spots for bird watching are quite some distance from the main entrance so you may want to enter in a vehicle and drive as far as the barricade, beyond which vehicles are not permitted, and walk further from there. The sanctuary also has a couple of watch towers but I found them to be of limited use. While the place is rich in biodiversity, it would benefit from better maintenance and care. A lot could also be done to attract visitors for bird watching. They charge an additional Rs. 500 if you want to take a camera with you, which is really high and discourages serious visitors. It also means that the sanctuary misses out on free marketing because fewer people visit and share photos. (All pictures are from December 2022)

Sikandra Fort, located in Agra, is a stunning example of the fusion of Hindu and Islamic architecture. The fort's red sandstone structure is well-preserved, featuring high walls adorned with intricate designs. Adjacent to Emperor Akbar's tomb, the fort showcases phenomenal designs and a rich history. Visitors can explore its magnificent darwazas, tombs, and impressive red facade. The well-maintained garden adds to the grandeur of this historical site.

Visiting Sikandra Fort in Agra was a wonderful and serene experience. This majestic mausoleum, built for Emperor Akbar, beautifully blends Mughal and Hindu architectural styles, making it unique and visually stunning. The intricate carvings, symmetrical design, and peaceful gardens surrounding the fort create a tranquil ambiance. What I loved most was the attention to detail in the architecture and the sense of history that pervades the site. The grand entrance gate and the well-preserved interiors reflect the rich cultural heritage of the Mughal era. The fort is not overly crowded, allowing ample time to explore and appreciate its beauty. That place is really so much astonishing not only in the sense of knowing more about the history but also it's beautiful too. We can't capture the beaut of edifice which are there. Provide great source of knowledge to reconstruct the past of Mughal special the political scenario. You could see this sight in about an hour if you'd like, but more time could be spent there comfortably thanks to some shaded benches and the wonderful scenery. here u also see deer in feild ground .Sikandra Fort is a must-visit for history buffs and anyone who appreciates art and architecture. It’s a great place to connect with Agra’s royal past!

It’s often overlooked compared to the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, but it’s one of the most peaceful and well-kept monuments in the city. The red sandstone structure with white marble inlay work looks stunning, especially in the early morning light. The surrounding gardens are huge and full of peacocks and deer — it feels more like a royal park than a tomb! Tips for visitors: Visit in the morning or evening for cooler weather and softer light for photos. The entry ticket is quite affordable and the place is rarely crowded, so you can take your time exploring. Don’t miss the main mausoleum hall — it has incredible symmetry and acoustic design. The gateways are beautifully decorated, especially the main one, which rivals even the Taj’s grandeur. Carry a bottle of water and wear comfortable shoes — the complex is large and open. It’s calm, clean, and full of history. If you love Mughal architecture and want a break from the crowds of the Taj Mahal, Akbar’s Tomb is the perfect spot.

Nestled amidst serene gardens, Sikandra Fort is a hidden gem showcasing the grandeur of Mughal architecture. The highlight here is undoubtedly Akbar's Tomb, a masterpiece of sandstone craftsmanship that blends Persian and Indian styles seamlessly. As you wander through the expansive grounds, you'll encounter graceful peacocks and gentle deer, adding to the tranquil ambiance. Built between 1605 and 1613 during the reign of Emperor Jahangir, the fort offers a glimpse into India's rich history and cultural heritage. A must-visit for history enthusiasts and nature lovers alike!

Sikandra Fort, more accurately the Mausoleum of Akbar, is a monument located in Sikandra, a suburb of Agra, built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar as his tomb. It is known for its harmonious blend of Hindu and Mughal architecture, constructed in red sandstone and white marble with exquisite carvings. The five-storey structure is set within a beautiful, expansive Mughal garden. The construction of this pyramidal tomb was planned by Akbar himself and completed by his son, Jahangir, in 1613. The complex also includes large gateways, pathways, and serves as a peaceful resting place surrounded by greenery and wildlife.
SHREYAN K — Google review
The tomb of Akbar is a magnificent mausoleum located in Sikandra, a suburb of Agra, Uttar Pradesh. Constructed primarily of red sandstone with white marble accents, it stands in the center of a sprawling 119-acre garden complex. Akbar himself began the tomb's construction around 1600, and it was completed by his son, Jahangir, between 1605 and 1613. The design of Akbar's tomb is noteworthy for its unique, progressive, and inclusive features. It reflects the emperor's pluralistic philosophy by blending architectural elements from various faiths. Pyramidal structure: The mausoleum is a five-tiered, truncated pyramid, a departure from traditional domed Mughal tombs. The lower levels are built from red sandstone, while the top story is a white marble pavilion. Unique blend of styles: The tomb combines Islamic features, such as pointed arches and geometric inlay patterns, with indigenous elements like sloping dripstones and elaborate Hindu-style carvings. True tomb and cenotaph: As with other mausoleums, the actual burial chamber is located in the basement. The uppermost floor, which is open to the sky, contains a false cenotaph of white marble, elaborately carved with arabesque and floral patterns. Intricate ornamentation: The structure features spectacular craftsmanship, including delicate jali (filigree) screens, stucco work, and fine calligraphy that includes the 99 names of Allah. Southern gateway: Visitors enter through the massive south gate, which features four graceful, white marble minarets and is decorated with geometric, floral, and calligraphic inlay. The Charbagh garden: The tomb is set within a Persian-style charbagh, or four-quartered garden, which is divided by wide causeways and water channels. Paradise symbolism: In Islamic tradition, the garden's division by water channels symbolizes the four rivers of paradise. Lush landscape: The garden contains lush tree-lined lawns and is home to deer, monkeys, and peacocks. Water features: Elaborate water devices were constructed to circulate water to the fountains and channels, including a large baoli (step-well) in the southeast quarter. Jat rebellion: During the reign of Akbar's great-grandson Aurangzeb, the tomb was ransacked by Jat rebels under the leadership of Raja Ram Jat in 1688. The Jats plundered the rich gold, silver, and carpets. British restoration: The mausoleum suffered significant damage before a large-scale restoration project was undertaken by the British viceroy, Lord Curzon, and completed in 1905. Nearby tomb: About a kilometer away is the tomb of Akbar's favorite wife, Mariam-uz-Zamani, who was buried in a garden she had created around Akbar's resting place.

A very well maintained tourist place. Must commend UP tourism department for keeping its upkeep. The full Fort area is covered by boundary so that no stray animal or any kind of unwanted people can't enter without authorization. The entrance is done through online payment and using QR code. Perhaps a little bit of upgrade is required there (because payment through UPI doesn't work properly, it failed for me through Amazon Pay), otherwise this trip was a delight.

The Shish Mahal, also known as the Glass Palace, is a restored 17th-century palace located within Agra Fort. It features stunning mirror-glass mosaics and water features set amidst landscaped gardens. This magnificent structure was an addition by Shah Jahan and served as the imperial bath of the Emperor. The palace's thick walls were designed to maintain a cool and pleasant interior ambiance.
Built by Emperor Shah Jahan (1630s), the Sheesh Mahal served as a luxurious royal bath for the queens. Its walls and ceilings are beautifully decorated with intricate mirror and glass mosaic work that once reflected candlelight to stunning effect. Today, it is closed to the public due to preservation efforts. Visitors can only glimpse it from outside during a tour of Agra Fort.

It was got constructed by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan as a part of his Summer Palace. Its walls and ceiling are inlaid with glass mosaic work, that flows in the dark and produces a surreal twinkling and glittering effect in the semi-dark interior of the palace. It is locked and inaccessible to the public as on date...

Another impressive building in Agra Fort. The ornaments are amazingly accurately made, amazingly beautiful. Unfortunately, you can't go inside but you can admire everything from a distance, from behind a barrier that limits your access.

The Shish Mahal is a part of the Khas Mahal complex within the fort and was built by Shah Jahan in the mid-17th century. The palace is known for its intricate design and decoration, including beautiful floral patterns and inlaid work. The palace is made of white marble and is decorated with thousands of tiny mirrors or shishas, which reflect light and create a dazzling effect. The mirrors are set in beautiful floral designs and add to the palace's beauty and charm. The Shish Mahal was used by the Mughal emperors as a private residence and was known for its luxurious amenities, including a beautiful fountain and a private hammam or bath. Sheesh Mahal is one of the architectural wonders inside the Khas Mahal in Agra Fort. It was commonly used as the Summer Palace by the Mughal princes as it was structured in such a way that it kept the Mahal cool from Agra’s heat. Water devices were installed with fountains and a waterfall inside the Palace. It was originally adorned with the finest glass pieces imported from Syria in order to reflect sunlight into the thick palace walls.

Sheesh Mahal is one of the most fabulous structures inside the Agra Fort. Located on the western side of the Musamman Burj (an octagonal tower lying in close proximity to Diwan-i-Khas), it is an incredibly beautiful sight to come across. This structure was one of the many additions made by Shah Jahan. Built between 1631-1640 AD, it also served as the imperial bath of the Emperor. The Mahal is also famous for having extra thick walls which were built to keep the interiors cool and pleasant. But it was close , no one could allow to enter in, only you can see is by the close net door with the help of your phone flashlight.

The luxurious medieval bathroom of the world 'sheesh mahal' is situated near angoori bagh in Agra fort. There were so many reflectors used to be fixed on the walls and roof inside Sheesh mahal but people put a large number of mirrors out of it unfortunately goverment banned the entry, Sheesh mahal has been a centre of attraction ever itself you can still taste the juice of this creative genre from the outside.

Nestled within the Agra Fort, Jahangir Palace, also known as Jahangir Mahal, is a significant Mughal architectural marvel. This Islamic palace served as the residence for Rajput wives of Akbar and later became the abode of Mughal empress Nur Jahan. Built by Emperor Akbar in the 16th century for his son Jahangir, this red sandstone palace showcases a fusion of Hindu and Islamic design elements.
Jahangir Palace (or Jahangiri Mahal) is a huge red-sandstone palace built by the Mughal ruler Akbar. It was the living complex for the wives of Akbar. It’s an enormous palace. And it stands out from other popular monuments in Agra because of its simplicity and integrity. Akbar built Jahangir Palace as the principal zenana (palace for women belonging to the royal family) for his Rajput wives. Later, it also became the residence of Nur Jahan (Jahangir’s wife). The palace was designed to provide ultimate pleasure and comfort to Jahangir.

I visited the Jahangir Palace today and it was amazing. I visited at the same time as visiting the Agra fort as the ticket covers all sections within the fort. The palace which was built by the ruler Akbar for the royal family and made mostly of marble and red stone. The palace also overlooks Taj Mahal and offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Highly recommended to visit if you're in the area.

The palace is at the southern end of the fort complex. It is in really good condition and looks fantastic, especially in late afternoon when the sunlight directly hits the front of the building. One of the first things you will see to the right of you as you walk up the ramp into the fort, and it is absolutely someplace you should take some time to explore.

Visiting this fort makes you feel part of the history. This fort is very well maintained. At the entry guides will be behind you. They asked Rs 1800 at the entry saying that it is huge. We almost fell for it but resisted as my son was not keen. if you take it outside. We resisted temptation and walked in. After the gates, another guide agreed at one third of the cost outside. I strongly recommend that you take a guide to explain everything. One key part is that even though it looks massive from outside, only 25% of it is actually available for tourists. The remaining fort is under the army. The fort is very well maintained and a must visit place

Akbar had built several palaces in the Agra Fort, and his son and successor Jahangir had added to them. These comprise the Jahangiri Mahal and Akbari Mahal, both approached through a beautiful gate decorated with red sandstone and yellow dholpur stone. The palaces inside are small, made almost completely of red sandstone, very intricately carved, and with some traces of beautiful painted and incised plaster. The Agra Fort ticket, Rs 35 per Indian adult, covers these palaces. An interesting artefact just outside the gate here is Jahangir's bath tub, shaped like a giant tea cup with rough steps on the side to climb in.

The palace was used by Jahangir as his residence during his visits to Agra, and it was also used as a venue for important state functions. The palace was built by Mughal Emperor Akbar in the 16th century as a residence for his son, Jahangir. Jahangir Palace is located inside the Agra Fort complex, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is made up of red sandstone and has a blend of Hindu and Islamic architectural styles. The palace has four courtyards and a number of chambers and halls. The most notable feature of Jahangir Palace is its stone columned hall, which has a beautiful jali or lattice work screen. Check My Channel- BPS Chauhan VLOGS

Jahangir’s palace is an exemplary place where one can see the beautiful ancient time of maharaja of old time belonging to jahangir. The gate takes one to inside the main fort. Beside there is bath tub of 5 feet heights and 8 feet width where you can see the beautiful lawn and open gate alongside. As per stories it’s not an original place of jahangir rather Akbar’s. It was British who changed it to show case and now it became part of tourists attraction over Akbar’s palace. Visit and see the palace and area of history. I enjoyed hope you do too ❤️❤️

The so-called Jahangiri Mahal despite its name, was built by Akbar. It is one of the earliest surviving buildings of Akbar's reign. Mughal empress Nur Jahan used this magnificent palace as her residence until her death. Agra Fort is a beautifully built fort and has great historic significance. The place is well maintained and we had a great time here. The information boards providing the information about the history associated with the place were also very helpful in appreciating the place further. The view of the Taj Mahal from the fort is also a very pleasant sight. The fort also conducts a light and sound show which is also a treat to watch. One of the structures in the ancient and magnificent Agra Fort, Shahi Burj is a Window on to History. It was here that Shah Jahan, with his daughter Jahanara Begum by his side, spent his final days before being imprisoned by his son Aurangzeb. From this vantage point, one can imagine what thoughts must have run through the king's mind as he watched his beautiful Taj Mahal grow ever more majestic before him.
Shah Burj is one of the structures in Agra Fort that contributes to its overall magnificence. Exploring this structure for the first time, and viewing the Taj Mahal from it, one cannot but be overwhelmed by an array of emotions. There are several stories related to this structure, one of these is that it was here Shah Jahan, along with his daughter, Jahanara Begum, spent his remaining days after being imprisoned by his son, Aurangzeb. What thoughts must have run through his mind, as he sat here and watched his finest creation from a distance, one wonders.

Known as the Musamman Burj and Saman Burj, it occupies pride of place next to the Khas Mahal inside the Agra Fort. It is an octagonal tower believed to have been built by the emperor Shah Jahan for his wife Mumtaz Mahal. It was built by demolishing a small marble palace built by Akbar. It was inlaid with gems and other precious stones and today provides spectacular views of the Taj Mahal

The Shah Burj (also known as the Musamman or Muthamman Burj) is a domed tower that was built sometime in 1632-1640 CE at Agra Fort by Shahjahan, on the site of an earlier similar structure built by Akbar. The Shah Burj was the site of the jharokha-e-darshan, a 'window' from which the emperor would provide his subjects a daily morning view of himself, to reassure them of his safety and well-being. In Jahangir's time, this also became the site where a thick metal chain was attached, reaching to the ground and allowed to be pulled by whoever wished to appeal to the emperor's sense of justice: the 'adl-e-Jahangir'. The Sabz Burj offers a fine view of the Taj Mahal. Shahjahan, imprisoned in the chambers beside the Burj by his son and successor Aurangzeb, is supposed to have looked longingly out at the distant view of the mausoleum he had built for his empress.

Shah Jahan used to either read the Quran or gaze at his beloved wife’s memorial from this veranda. This corner was the only solace in his last days. It is said that Shah Jahan kept on gazing at the Taj Mahal till his last breath right from here. This is an octagonal tower in which Shah Jahan was held as a prisoner by his son as he requested that he wanted to spend his life looking at Taj Mahal.

Subhash Emporium has a strong reputation as the go-to boutique for stone handicrafts in Agra.
Came to the best place to get Agra marble work. It is expensive but you will get the best from here. All the staff are friendly and very helpful. If you want a marble product there are different price ranges and if the best quality of Indian craftsmanship is what you are looking for it's only here. You can tell the staff have a real passion on their work running as a family business. Unlike other places in Agra they never paid commission to guides in Agra. I was pushed my my guide to see a different shop and they just pushed me hard to buy their low quality product. There is NO pressure selling here you just browse and buy if you like it. It is hard to say why anyone wouldn't buy something from here.

If you want high quality marble inlay pieces, this is the place to go. We first went to another store, and the work was inferior. You may be paying a little bit more, but you will have the satisfaction of knowing that the product is good and that you are supporting artisan families that are a dying breed even though their workmanship is exquisite. There is no pressure to buy anything, and the staff are open and friendly. Make sure to see the not-for-sale masterpieces that are on display.

The place is run through 3 generations and they show case a work shop which is mostly for tourists, they have vast variety of materials but everything is expensive (mostly for tourist souvenirs) They explain that its very special because it's Indian marble from Makrana but as an Indian i understand that every other marble is in quality very similar to it. So my suggestion (based on my experience) will be to go there to experience the art of making inlay work of marble (Pietra dura) but also keep in mine that you can get same material in less then half price at other stores.

Fantastic place! Amazinginly intricate marble inlaid table tops, jewellery boxes, display plates and a bunch of other random things like a Taj Mahal or elephants. All hand made (you can tell via the very slight inconsistencies). On entering, the owner gives an indepth explanation of the process, then shows a bunch of special pieces to you. Then he asked for my price range and what kind of thing I was looking for and he brought out a load of different pieces to look at. Also served tea. Although he doesn't allow photos it was much nicer in there than other shops I've been in and they weren't pushy (which is unusual). It was great, would've loved to take my Mum!

The staff was so kind and explained how these amazing marble pieces are made. Of course we were shown some items for sale, and they were really understanding when we explained we didn’t want to spend much money or any at all. In the end I bought a small and beautiful pendant for my mother!

The concept of the place is fun but the place is not at all maintained well. The cost here is 600 rs per person. This is not at all worth the experience. The maximum cost of the ticket should be 200 rs. There was a mismatch in the count of the pens and the books which were supposed to form an important hint. Atleast this should have taken care of because I informed 1 hour prior to my arrival at the place. Overall it was not at all a great experience. I would suggest people not to come here. Rather than going here you guys could ask some neighbours to hide random clues in your house and ask your cousins to join

The Amar Singh Gate is one of the historical entrances to the Agra Fort, also known as the Red Fort, located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh, India. Named after Raja Amar Singh Rathore of Jodhpur, this gate played a crucial role in the fort's defense during the Mughal era. The Amar Singh Gate is distinguished by its grand design and architectural splendor, exhibiting typical Mughal artistry with intricate carvings and majestic red sandstone facades. The gateway leads into a series of beautiful palaces, audience halls, and other important structures within the fort. Originally, the fort had two main gates—the Delhi Gate and the Amar Singh Gate. I visited this facility on a weekend with a group of 13, including both children and adults. Compared to Jaipur's trampoline park, this one is quite small and offers limited activities, primarily focused on jumping. The pricing is ₹600 on weekends and ₹500 on weekdays. Areas for Improvement: Group Discounts: Unlike many similar venues, they do not offer group discounts, which would be a valuable addition. More Activities: The lack of variety in rides makes the experience less engaging; they should consider adding more options beyond just jumping. Positive Aspects: Food Quality: The food offered was good. Combo Offers: They provide a free combo for tickets purchased before 3:30 PM. Overall, my experience was okay but not exceptional. Implementing these suggestions could enhance the attraction significantly.

Mughal Garden is a stunning feature surrounding the Taj Mahal, inspired by Persian gardens and designed in the Charbagh style. It boasts an impressive avenue of trees arranged by their scientific names, adding to the beauty of the complex. This historic garden was established in 1528 by Mughal ruler Babur and has an interesting history, including being a place where Emperor Akbar proposed to his third wife, who was a gardener there.
The world-famous Taj Mahal needs no introduction and visiting this stunning "Symbol of Love" is an experience of a lifetime. Every day this mausoleum attracts lakhs of visitors from all over the world. The entry fee is kept at ₹50 for Indians (for garden only), but if you book it online by scanning the QR code then you will get some discount. The East Gate is the most convenient and organised gate to enter the Taj. Security protocols are at par with airports. The garden offers a mesmerising view of the grand monument. Photographers are available inside, who can shoot your photos in DSLR in various poses and give you the option to choose either soft copies or hard copies or both. The delivery time of photos is also unbelievably quick. The Taj can be cherished from different parts of the garden and each zone offers a different view. When the sun ☀️ rays fall on the Taj, if offers a heavenly sight to the spectators. Hence, sunrise & sunset are the best times to visit this place. Make sure to visit the Taj Museum too, which is situated in the garden premises and it doesn't cost extra. Highly recommended to visit this extraordinary UNESCO World Heritage site.🏩
Samrat C — Google review
The Mughal Garden at the Taj Mahal is peaceful and neatly laid out, giving a nice balance to the whole monument. The symmetry of the lawns, fountains, and pathways leading up to the Taj makes the first view really memorable. Sitting there for a while, watching the reflection of the Taj in the water channels, is definitely the best part of the visit. That said, it’s not something extraordinary on its own — it’s basically a well-maintained garden with clean lawns, trimmed hedges, and flowing fountains. The highlight here is not the garden itself but how it frames the Taj Mahal beautifully. Without the greenery and the structured layout, the monument wouldn’t look as majestic from a distance. The good part is that it’s generally kept clean, though at times you can find crowds blocking the pathways since everyone is busy taking pictures. There aren’t too many spots to just sit quietly unless you don’t mind standing or leaning around. In short, the Mughal Garden at the Taj Mahal is simple, elegant, and adds to the overall charm of the monument. Don’t expect it to be a full-fledged garden experience — think of it more as a foreground that completes the beauty of the Taj. Worth appreciating, but the main attraction remains the marble wonder behind it.

my visit to the Mughal Garden in Agra was both refreshing and enlightening. Located near the majestic Taj Mahal, this garden beautifully reflects the grandeur and aesthetics of Mughal landscaping traditions. Designed in the classic Charbagh (four-part) layout, the garden is divided by walkways and water channels that symbolize the Islamic concept of paradise — a place of eternal peace and beauty. The lush greenery, colorful flower beds, and the soothing sound of flowing water create a tranquil environment that instantly connects one with nature. As I walked through the well-maintained pathways, I admired the symmetrical design and the thoughtful use of space that represented the Mughal vision of harmony between man and nature. The garden also offers a splendid view of the Taj Mahal from across the Yamuna River, especially at sunset, when the marble monument glows with golden hues. For a student of history, the Mughal Garden is not just a place of leisure but a living example of architectural and cultural sophistication. It reflects the Mughal emperors’ love for art, beauty, and balance. The fragrance of blooming flowers, the chirping of birds, and the calm water channels together create a sense of timeless elegance. Visiting this garden was like witnessing the Mughal era’s refined taste and their deep appreciation for the aesthetics of life and nature.

The garden in front of the Taj Mahal is called Charbagh. It follows the Persian "Charbagh" (Four Gardens) layout, symbolizing paradise as described in Islamic traditions. The garden is divided into four symmetrical sections by raised pathways and water channels representing the four rivers of paradise. Originally filled with lush greenery, fountains, and fruit-bearing trees, it was designed to create a tranquil and heavenly ambiance around the Taj Mahal. It offers a reflective pool in the center, mirroring the image of the Taj Mahal. This Mughal garden concept was inspired by Babur’s Persian influences and can also be seen in other Mughal structures like Humayun’s Tomb in Delhi.

Mosque
Historical landmark
Nestled along the banks of the serene River Yamuna, Humayun Mosque is a hidden gem that deserves a spot on your Agra itinerary. This lesser-known monument from the Mughal era, built in 1530 during Humayun's reign, showcases stunning architecture with its five-arched facade and prominent central iwan. While it may not be widely referenced in historical texts, its significance as one of the earliest Mughal constructions cannot be overlooked.
Agra, a city rooted in history and even mentioned in the Mahabharata, flourished under many rulers. Badal Singh first built a fort here, Sikandar Lodhi made it his capital, and under the Mughals it reached its peak. Among them was Humayun, the second Mughal emperor, remembered as a brave, religious, and scholarly ruler. Soon after his coronation in 1530 AD, he commissioned the Humayun Mosque. Located in Kachhpura village, northwest of Mehtab Bagh, the mosque sits in a modest neighborhood yet remains accessible. Built in a rectangular plan with a large courtyard, it features a prayer hall entered through five arches. The western wall contains five mihrabs, the central one richly inscribed in Persian. Above it, three arched windows light the interior. The roof once held three domes, though one has collapsed. Financed by Shaikh Zain Hawafi, a poet and Babur’s companion, the mosque reflects Lodi-era Islamic design and resembles Delhi’s Begumpuri Mosque. Visitors can enter freely during the day, but must remove footwear. Today, it stands protected by the Archaeological Survey of India and attracts history lovers worldwide.

The Humayun Mosque, an ancient structure, has unfortunately deteriorated over time. It stands in relative obscurity, not enjoying the same popularity as some other historic sites. As a result, it remains less explored by tourists and history enthusiasts, despite its historical significance.
Suryakant K — Google review
Humayun Mosque Humayun Mosque is situated in the village of Kachhpura in Agra on the left bank of River Yamuna. Though this mosque has not been mentioned in texts related to Mughal period, it is the only monument in Agra that can undoubtedly be attributed to the reign of Humayun. According to the inscriptions on this monument, the mosque was constructed in 1530, when Humayun ascended the throne. The facade of the mosque bears five arches, the central of which is a high iwan. A dome tops the central nave and is supported on kite-shaped pendentives and net squinches. There are double-aisled wings on either side of the central nave. The building is made of brick and lime, and covered with stucco work.
Md. K — Google review
Constructed in 1530 after Humayun ascended to power, Humayun’s mosque is one of the earliest monuments of the Mughal period. The mosque contains Persian inscriptions on it, which reveal that the construction was funded by Sheikh Zain Khawafi, a poet and a nobleman who was a close aid of Babur. This mosque was essentially built to cater to the religious needs of the Mughals and was named Kabul by the local residents. The mosque is built entirely out of brick masonry with white plaster over it. T In the vicinity of the mosque on the river bank is also Humayun’s astronomical observatory and a step well or baoli and a massive monolith.

The Humayun Masjid situated in the village of Kachhpura, the north-west of Mehtab Bagh, was constructed by Humayun in A.D. 1530. The mosque is crowned by three low flat domes. The central compartment comprising the prayer chamber is entered by a higher archway than the side wings. The arches are four – centered. There are two inscriptions one on the Quibla over the main Mihrab which states the construction of the Mosque by Humayun in A.H. 937 and the second in Nastaliq characters on the left wall of the prayer chamber. Must visit to know the contribution to Indian civilisation by various previous rulers of India in this case the famous Mughals, who originally belonged to Mongolia and came to India via earthwhile Russia and Afhghanistan.
Mohammed I — Google review
Though this mosque has not been mentioned in texts related to Mughal period, it one of the earliest monuments of Mughal period corresponding to the beginning phase of Mughal architecture in India. According to the Persian inscriptions on this monument, this mosque was constructed in 1530, when Humayun ascended the throne.

Agra Heritage Walks offers an enriching experience to explore the lesser-known parts of Agra, delving into its rich history and culture. The three-day itinerary includes food, heritage sites, stories, and extensive exploration. The organization also engages with the community by working with artisans, restoring city areas, and empowering women groups through tourism. One of their tours called "Story of Spices" provides a delightful cultural immersion as knowledgeable guides unravel the significance and stories behind local dishes.
We booked their Agra 101 tour for our first day in India and it turned out to be the perfect introduction to the region. Our guide, Arhaan, was incredibly knowledgeable and a great communicator. He took us deep into Agra’s history, then walked us to fascinating sights around busy old city, including jama masjid, kashmiri bazar, a spice market and a perfumery dating back to Mughal days. Arhaan’s passion for history was obvious and it was so great getting to know Agra through a local’s eyes and hearing stories you'd never find elsewhere. Old city can be a bit of sensory overload (plus we were 2 females travelling India for the first time, who'd just flown in the night before) so this tour was the perfect way to immerse ourselves deep in the real India minus the total overwhelm. They’re also very responsive on WhatsApp and answered my questions quickly. Recommended!

Our 3 hours guided tour with Agra Heritage Walk was a excellent highlight of our trip to Agra. Kaleem, our guide was very accommodating to host us during Ramzan period and amidst the summer heat. The walk was easy paced, it was held in the evening where the weather was much pleasant. Kaleem was friendly, knowledgeable and very passionate in sharing cultural stories of Agra, he also told us wonderful history on Jama Masjid and its surrounding area. The heritage walk brought us to unique routes, stores and food that were only known to the locals. A memorable part of the walk was when we got off-the-beat to view the evening's beautiful sunset on top of a roof. It was an unique experience admiring the vast view of the old Agra city during sunset. Kaleem was kind enough to invite us to his home and also to perform a tune on his Indian Sarod, a traditional musical instrument. Highly recommended for anyone interested in experiencing Agra through the viewpoint of a local. Learn about the rich history, diversity of the nation and you will have an unforgettable experience.

Agra Heritage Walk’s Story of Spices tour was an absolute delight! Not only did Tahir guide us through the vibrant tapestry of street food, but he also took the time to explain the significance of each dish, unraveling the stories and roots behind them. His insightful narratives provided a deeper understanding of the local culture and the purpose each delicacy served. It felt like more than just a food tour; it was a cultural immersion guided by Tahir's passion and knowledge. Every bite became a journey through history, making this 5-star experience truly exceptional. If crave a culinary adventure – Agra Heritage Walk’s is a must!

I had an amazing three days at Agra with Agra Heritage Walks. I can't recommend them enough as they made a brilliant three day itinerary us which included food, Heritage, stories and so much exploration. We had never thought that Agra could be this interesting . Moreover it is worthwhile to see the amazing work they do there with the community, including working with artisans, restoring areas of the city and encouraging women groups to become financially independent through tourism. Thanks Agra Heritage Walks for a memorable trip.

We had such a wonderful tour with Arhaan who showed us around Jama Masjid, a market, and showed us some really lovely views of Agra. He gave us great historical and local context for everything and found us delicious food as well. If you want to see Agra outside of the main biggest historical sites this tour is absolutely for you. Thank you to Arhaan and Agra heritage walks for this opportunity!

Movie theater
Carnival Cinemas is a theater chain with locations throughout the United States. The theaters are usually large and offer a wide variety of movie genres and films. The theaters are often decorated in festive, colorful styles and feature comfortable seating.
It's situated in TDI mall agra . I haven 3 star coz it's not as good as they charge . Minimum ticket charge is 250, which is a good amount . But the display is moderate but sound system is like a mono channel radio . Very bad experience .. other things like ambience , clinliness are good . But the main part is sound system that is very bad .
Suprabhat S — Google review
It's one of the smallest screen theatre I've ever been inside. The sound quality of the theatre is pretty good. The entire mall looks so empty at around 8 in the evening. Mall doesn't have much shopping options. McD and the Movie theatre is the only point of the mall which attracts the crowd I guess.
Pranay T — Google review
It is located in haunted mall where only cinema is left. all shops are closed and the condition of cinema is also not that good. it require renovation. chares are broken and not comfortable. While there is 3 Audi in the cinema. Staff is rude while checking. Instead of this you can go Mehar cinema.
Nischal S — Google review
Went to watch avengers infinity war. Movie experience was pethatic. Seat which I booked online was found broken in theatre, so I had to adjust in front row. 3D glasses which they provided were very cheap and extremely low quality, I tried about 10 glasses and all had lot of scratches on them. Staff dint even bother to listen to the problems. The only good was the sound quality. But it ment nothing as visuals were very poor with those 3D glasses.
Vatsalya G — Google review
The screen is average. The seats are dirty, moist, and unhygienic. Because of the empty mall (TDI mall) the maintenance is zero. Washrooms untidy. Parking available.
Versha A — Google review
Not a good cinema, even after taking ticket footcourt entry is not allowed for waiting purpose. cinema staff is rude and mall is not fully operational.
CP Y — Google review
Ambience is not up to the mark but price is reasonable. Sound quality is good but screen size is just ok.
Anushri B — Google review
Only the screens are properly Air conditioned, the waiting lounge is really warm. Food is pricey and tasteless... The theater smells pretty bad as you enter it. Sound quality not very impressive either. No wonder most seats were empty when we watched the movie... They need to improve upon the upkeep of the theatre... The smart seats are a total ripoff.

Spacious cinema offering the latest releases on the big screen with digital projection technology.
Earlier there was a lot of chaos here but now it has improved a lot, cleanliness is better than before, cigarettes and tobacco are banned, sound is also better than before but during the interval you will still not find many options for food and drinks here. Overall, it is not wrong to watch a movie here as per the ticket rate.
MANSINGH R — Google review
Panna Cinema is an average movie hall, primarily suitable for locals and people from nearby villages looking for affordable entertainment. The ticket prices are quite low, making it a budget-friendly option. However, if you are a family or a couple, the atmosphere here might feel a bit uncomfortable. The seating arrangements and overall cleanliness are not up to the mark for those expecting a modern movie-going experience. The facilities and audience behavior might not appeal to an upscale crowd. If you're planning a casual outing with friends on a budget, this place can work. But for a comfortable and premium movie experience, it might not be the best choice.
Tarun S — Google review
Had a very bad experience at Panna Place Senama. The cinema hall was extremely dirty with no proper cleaning, and there were a lot of mosquitoes inside, making it very uncomfortable to sit through the movie. I strongly suggest not coming here if you want to enjoy your movie time. Instead, go to Mehar or TDI Senama. Honestly, watching a movie on YouTube would be a much better option than this place.
Pooran S — Google review
Not Good For Families And Couples. Mostly crowd are drunk or smoking there smelling all around in the hall. Ticket price is so cheap, Good for Boys Group only. Proper parking facility is not available.
Yogesh P — Google review
Its a normal cinema hall its good for single person not for the family. Sitting and other thing was good. For single men its very good and good in rate.
Sonu P — Google review
Its not good for couples .if you want to go with your gf/bf then i suggest tdi and mehar cinema but in panna there is no systematic work no proper hygiene toilets are not clean . In intervals there is no extra meals only cold drinks , popcorn ,petis are available..

Playdium offers a fantastic experience for kids up to 15 years old, providing a plethora of activities in a safe and entertaining environment. From slides and sand play areas to jumping trampolines, there's no shortage of fun. Parents or guardians can relax in the cafe and restaurant while keeping an eye on their little ones through accessible glass panels. While only one parent is allowed per child, well-trained staff ensure every kid is looked after, allowing peace of mind. Additional video games, though charged separately, offer extra entertainment. After playtime, kids can indulge in tasty food in the air-conditioned area. The cafe itself is worth a visit, even without kids, offering delicious meals and showcasing cricket matches on big screen projectors. Good place to have fun for kids. Also has games for adults like playstation and air hockey. Our kid had a lot of fun and didn't wanna go home. Nicely maintained as well.

Excellent place for kids to hang out with their parents and friends. The activities are all made to enhance physical and mental growth of a child. Physical activities like spider web , tunnel, trampoline, wave slides improves body agility and bone health. Sensory activities like cannon shooting, interactive screen, kinetic sand and pool of beads promotes sense organ development and brain health. The activities like Lego wall , led wall , ball pool drastically improves a child's community skills like making friends and interaction with peers.. I firmly believe that in this era of information and technology when children are always on screen, it is very important for them to expound their energies in such weather proof, child safe , healthy environment and grow into healthy beings. Parents should regularly visit such places and promote fun with learning. Thanks and regards.

Hi folks . On behalf of 15-16 people I would like to share our experience with you all. It was my Niece's Birthday. So we booked the zone , got it decorated too.... The kids play area was good(but not as big as it looks in the videos/reels)  and staff was all girls to handle all the munchkins. Adult playzone has only 4 games Nd all had some or the other problem. One can play any game any no. Of Times by paying Rs500/- per hour. And the worst part is that ,the person who handles the adult game zone area, vanishes and you can't locate him to get the game re-start....and the reception staff keeps saying sir 2 mins , 2 mins ....same way they wasted about 20 mins of our time out of the total 60 mins. Also I would request, please don't consume anything from their cafeteria as the quality is the main issue. Many of the kids suffered stomach ache and vomiting. And their 3rd class service and serviceman are enough to spoil any occasion. Ordered 2 coffee and 2 burgers. This very order for fulfilled in an hour. I wonder if he'd gone to harvest coffee beans first. In addition, I would like to share one more experience, we're enjoying pizza and while eating I just place my plate over a counter to speak with someone, in the meantime one of them picked and thew it straight in the bin. Overall the staff is unfriendly, rude , mannerless. It was nothing but a horrible experience. They keep asking to rate them highest irrespective of service they provide. Possibly most of the reviews are fake . Please don't fall for such false informations like we did.
