Toad Rock is a unique rock formation located about 5 kilometers from Mount Abu town, offering stunning views of Nakki Lake. The area is known for its various tourist attractions, including Trevors Tank with a tubular watchtower for observing wildlife like panthers, crocodiles, and more. Visitors can also explore the beautiful Dilwara Jain Temple, Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary, and scenic spots like Nakki Lake and Guru Shikhar.
Toad Rock is a charming and easily accessible attraction in Mount Abu. The "toad" shape of the rock is uncanny and a fun sight to behold! Beyond the novelty, the viewpoint from around the rock offers beautiful, unobstructed views of Nakki Lake, especially lovely during sunset or sunrise. It’s a nice, short walk from the main market area, making it a convenient stop to add to your itinerary. Perfect for a quick visit and some great photos! #toadrock #Mountabu

It is worth watching the rock and the scene of the lake from the top is beautiful if there is no fog. Toad rock is not maintained well, even people build a shop just beneath the toad rock which sells things that charges 50% more than MRP, also compromising the photographic scenery. People often come here to smoke and drink too.
Harikrishnan K — Google review
We had a wonderful time at Toad Rock in Mount Abu. The weather was amazing during our visit – light rain and fog made the place even more beautiful and peaceful. The view of Nakki Lake from the top looked magical in that atmosphere. It was a truly enjoyable experience and a must-visit spot in Mount Abu.

The Toad That Leaps into Beauty Toad Rock is one of Mount Abu’s most recognizable and charming landmarks, and it truly earns its reputation as the hill station's mascot. This massive, uniquely-shaped natural rock formation genuinely looks like a giant toad perched on the cliff, ready to leap into the tranquil waters of Nakki Lake below. The sheer novelty of the formation makes it a must-see. The Experience: The visit begins with a short but invigorating trek. You'll need to climb approximately 250 to 300 steps to reach the viewpoint. While the climb is manageable, wear comfortable shoes and take it at a leisurely pace. The highlight is, without a doubt, the view from the top. Once you reach the summit, you are rewarded with a spectacular, panoramic vista. You get an unobstructed, breathtaking view of: Nakki Lake glistening in the valley. The surrounding lush green Aravalli hills. The entire Mount Abu town. It’s an absolute paradise for photographers, especially during the early morning hours or at sunset, when the light paints the landscape in golden hues. Pros: Unique Natural Wonder: The rock's resemblance to a toad is uncanny and a fun sight to witness. Stunning Views: Offers arguably the best panoramic view of Nakki Lake and the surrounding area. Free Entry: A great, budget-friendly activity with no entry fee. Invigorating Trek: The short hike adds a pleasant, adventurous element to the visit. Cons & Tips for Visitors: Staircase Condition: Be cautious, as several reviewers note that the stairs leading up to the rock are poorly maintained and broken in places, which can be risky for young children or senior citizens. Crowds: Visit early in the morning (around sunrise) to beat the crowds and enjoy a more peaceful experience. Limited Amenities: There are very few facilities at the top, so bring your own water. Local Maintenance: Some visitors have expressed disappointment regarding littering and poor general maintenance of the immediate area around the rock.
Prashant P — Google review
Toad Rock is a unique frog-shaped rock near Nakki Lake, you have to do little trek for reaching here, maybe 250 to 300 steps. Steps hoing through greenery. The view from the top is stunning, especially when the weather is clear — perfect for photography. However, the spot is not well-maintained. Shops beneath the rock overcharge for items, and the place is sometimes misused by visitors, which can affect the experience.
Hrishu R — Google review
Good place but one time only. Just a view of Abu Parvat and a toad shaped rock. Around 280 to 285 stairs to reach Toad Rock and condition of stairs are very bad and risky in rainy season. Else good to go.

Beautiful place. Do visit in the mornings before 9AM, ideally for sunrise. Later, the sun gets you!

Honeymoon Point, also referred to as Anadara Point, is a popular destination in Mount Abu known for its stunning sunset views over the Aravalli Range. This picturesque spot is favored by couples for its romantic ambiance and serene atmosphere. The vantage point offers breathtaking vistas of lush green valleys and plains from its elevated position of 4000 feet. Visitors can enjoy the tranquil environment, cool breeze, and captivating scenery, making it an ideal retreat for couples looking to create unforgettable memories.
The most captivating aspect is, without a doubt, the panoramic view of the lush Aravalli hills and the surrounding valley. The vantage point is spectacular, providing a wide-angle perspective that is perfect for photography. I highly recommend timing your visit to catch the sunset. The way the sun dips below the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange, pink, and purple, is absolutely magical and worth the slight trek. The atmosphere is incredibly peaceful, making it a perfect spot to relax and unwind.

🌄 A Hidden Treasure with a View That Takes Your Breath Away! 🌿 One of the most peaceful and rewarding places I’ve visited. The climb might be a bit challenging with the steep steps, but the view from the top is absolutely worth it! You’ll be greeted by a sweeping panorama of green valleys, farmlands, and endless skies — a perfect spot to disconnect from the chaos of city life and reconnect with nature. The fresh mountain air, the rustling of the trees, and the silence broken only by birdsong make it a serene escape. Ideal for hikers, nature photographers, or anyone looking to soak in some natural beauty and tranquility. Highly recommended for a day trip if you’re craving adventure and unforgettable views! Just make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water. 🌿👣📸

It’s a nice place to visit if there’s a crowd around. Otherwise, it’s better to skip it, the 1-2 km trek through the forest can be a bit scary and there’s a risk of wild animals. That said, the spot offers a beautiful scenic view, the soothing sound of a waterfall, and birds chirping all around. Sharing a few pictures I clicked there.
Shubham S — Google review
A much better option as compared to sunset point in Mount Abu. The road towards this point was scenic and was neat and clean in compared to that dirty sunset point road. The entire point had multiple view points where you can spend hours without any disruption. The sunset view was amazing specially during winters and summers.
Brijesh K — Google review
A romantic escape with magical sunset views! I recently visited Honeymoon Point atop Mount Abu, and it truly lives up to its name. Nestled around 4,000 ft high, this vantage offers panoramic views of Nakki Lake below and the rolling Aravalli hills—especially stunning at sunset when the sky transforms into vibrant shades of orange and pink. If you cherish serene landscapes, romantic moments, or peaceful solo reflection. The sunset views are unforgettable, the walk enjoyable, and the ambiance calming. Pack comfy shoes, bring water/snacks, and head there for a perfect evening retreat.

No tickets. But you will have to walk around 1 km from point where no vehicles allowed further. The view on the walk way to honeymoon point is awesome and peaceful.

Breathtaking Views at Honeymoon Point! We visited Honeymoon Point in Mount Abu, and it was truly stunning! The scenic views of the surrounding hills and valleys were breathtaking. The romantic ambiance and picturesque setting made it a perfect spot for couples and nature lovers. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Mount Abu. Recommended for: Couples, nature lovers, and those seeking panoramic views of Mount Abu.

The four stars I have given for the view nd the location ... Beautiful view at time of sunset ... But yaa rhe authority should allow two wheeler inside ...the walk can make you tired at once but the view sums it up all .... But when you want to return you feel exhausted nd there comes some riders with scooty or bike nd charge 100 rupees per person to live you at the point where you dropped your bike scooty or car ... That was the bad part I felt otherwise so beautiful

Shri Raghunath Temple in Mount Abu is a revered Hindu religious site located on the shores of Nakki Lake. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, it was built in the 14th century and features a beautifully carved idol of Shri Raghunath Ji. The temple attracts Vaishnava devotees and is known for its intricate wall inscriptions, paintings, and carvings.
If you find yourself in the vicinity of Nakki Market, I highly recommend exploring this temple, as the Nakki Lake area tends to be bustling with crowds while this hidden gem near Nakki Market remains relatively undiscovered by tourists. The temple exudes both beauty and tranquility, offering a peaceful retreat. What sets it apart is the stunning view it provides of Nakki Lake, a sight that is often overlooked. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu, the temple houses a remarkably beautiful idol of the deity that captivates the beholder's gaze. The craftsmanship and detail in the idol are so exquisite that it becomes difficult to divert your eyes from its divine presence. This temple offers a serene and spiritual atmosphere, creating a perfect setting for those seeking a quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of more frequented areas. Taking a moment to visit this temple not only allows you to experience the cultural and religious significance associated with Lord Vishnu but also provides a vantage point for admiring the breathtaking views of Nakki Lake. It's a harmonious blend of spirituality and natural beauty, making it a worthwhile stop for anyone exploring the Nakki Market vicinity.

1. Peaceful & Scenic Tucked near Nakki Lake, the temple is a serene retreat away from the crowds—especially early morning or late afternoons . Many visitors rave: > “A very peaceful temple … well crafted and clean. Peaceful ambience.” 2. Beautiful Architecture & Idol A 14th-century marble gem showcasing Mewar-style pillars, domes, frescoes of Jay‑Vijay, Hanuman, Garud, and inscriptions . The idol of Lord Raghunathji (Vishnu) is noted for its craftsmanship—visitors can't help but admire it . 3. Spiritual Significance & Legends Viewed as a Vaishnavite pilgrimage site linked to protection from life’s woes . Legends include both the unrequited-princess tale and creation by saint Shri Ramanand . 4. Visitor Convenience No entry fee, open twice daily: ~6 AM–11 AM & 4 PM–8 PM . Dharmashala (temple lodging) offers low-cost stays for pilgrims (~3,000 capacity) . 5. Cleanliness & Crowd Levels Widely praised for being well-maintained . A minority opinions mention neglect or lack of temple priest on occasion—one Tripadvisor user said “no Pujari, appears neglected” . --- 🔎 Visitor Tips Timing: Visit early morning or just before evening for maximum peace . Combine visits: It's a short walk from Nakki Lake, and near Toad Rock and market area—easy to include in a Lake circuit . Dress & decorum: Modest attire is recommended; shoes must be left outside. Photography inside sanctum may be restricted . Stay option: Dharmashala rooms are budget-friendly and authentic spiritual stays, albeit basic . Be mindful: Some reviews from years ago mentioned cleanliness or management issues, so don’t go expecting a grand temple complex . --- 📝 Summary Shri Raghunath Temple is a quiet spiritual gem in Mount Abu. Highlights include its beautiful 14th‑century marble architecture, exquisitely carved idol, and calm lakeside ambiance. Great for those seeking a contemplative break or a glimpse into local Vaishnavite heritage. Expect a modest, respectfully maintained temple, with occasional lodging available. Sunset Point in Mount Abu, Rajasthan is a popular spot known for its breathtaking sunset views and stunning mountaintop scenery. It's a favorite among both expert and novice trekkers, as well as photographers seeking the unique and mystical sunset and sunrise vistas. The area comes alive with tourist enthusiasm, especially during the Annual Winter Festival at the end of December, featuring cultural celebrations and activities like musical performances, dancing, kite flying, and firework displays.
Sunset Point in Mount Abu is truly nothing less than heaven on earth. The viewpoint is located around 800 meters ahead of the ticket counter, and the path leading to it is equally scenic. Watching the golden sunset here is an unforgettable experience as the rays beautifully color the sky and mountains. Surrounded by lush greenery, rocky cliffs, and cool breeze, this place offers pure relaxation and peace. There are also special photography tables where you can click amazing pictures to keep the memories alive forever. If you’re visiting Mount Abu, Sunset Point is a must-visit destination that will make your trip truly memorable.
Rakesh K — Google review
Sunset Point in Mount Abu offers a panoramic view of the valley and Aravalli range. You need to walk around 400–500 meters to reach the spot or you can take horse or man pushed hand carts. The sunset itself depends a lot on the weather—sometimes clear, sometimes hidden behind clouds. What spoils the experience is the high entry fee (₹150 for adults, ₹75 for students) which feels unjustified. The trail is not well maintained and is littered with horse poop, making the walk unpleasant. Could be a great place with better upkeep and fair pricing.
Joydeep G — Google review
Nice place to end the day in Mount Abu. But the place is overly crowded as the place is small to accommodate lot of people. There are small cart type facility to take people to the sunset point. They charge ₹100 per person in 2025. However, we did not take them and could easily reach the view point. Ultimately you have to climb the stairs at the end to reach the view point. The place become dark soon after the sunset as there was no street light. So you better rush back to the junction point as soon as possible. Overall it was a nice experience before we checked into our hotel room.

Sunset Point, Mount Abu – Must Visit Spot! The walk to Sunset Point is around 1 km from the parking/start point. You can either enjoy the scenic walk or hire a horse (₹300) or a handcart (₹200) for convenience. At the top, there are multiple spots to enjoy the sunset view. I chose to go all the way up — totally worth it! The view was breathtaking, especially from the highest point. Even though I visited during the off-season, the place was still quite crowded, showing how popular it is. Beautiful skies, cool breeze, and scenic surroundings made it a perfect evening. A must-visit if you’re in Mount Abu!

The atmosphere feels lively yet calm, making it enjoyable for both families and friends. Reaching early ensures you get the best spot to watch the spectacular sunset. Overall, it’s a must-visit attraction in Mount Abu for nature lovers and anyone seeking a serene, unforgettable experience.

There's a fee to get to the sunset spot. It's about 500 meters from the entrance, but you can hire a horse or trolley. Sometimes you might see a bear on the way. The view is amazing, totally worth it! They sell snacks up there – noodles, popcorn, corn, that sort of thing. Just heads up, no bathrooms though.

A very good place for the peaceful community peoples, big hall with great architecture. You can buy books and visit the museum too. The introduction about the message on "Universal Peace" was fantastic.

The Universal Peace Center is a calm and spiritual place, though it’s currently under renovation and quite empty at the moment. Entry is free, and parking is available outside the main gate. Visitors are often given a short guided tour of the premises, including a brief lecture about the institution and its teachings in the grand meditation hall. You can also purchase books on spirituality and meditation from the center. Overall, it’s a peaceful spot for those interested in spiritual learning and inner calm, even though not all sections are operational right now.

The Adhar Devi Temple, also known as the Arbuda Devi Temple, is a famous cave temple and important pilgrimage site in Mount Abu. Dedicated to the Goddess Durga. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga, also called Arbuda Devi. According to legend, the name "Adhar" comes from the goddess's lips ("adhar") which are believed to have fallen at this site and the idol was originally found hanging in mid-air. The temple is considered very sacred and is especially busy during the nine days of Navratri, when devotees flock here for pilgrimage. The climb to the temple is symbolic, with 365 steps representing each day of the year!

We had an amazing hike with Harsh, a very knowledgeable guide who really can tell you almost everything about local flora and fauna, the mountains and much more about Indian traditions and history. The walk with him was very balanced with some breaks to get a feel for the forest, the mountain and nature, we had quiet times to soak in the energy. Sadly we didn't see a sloth bear, but sure that's nature. We would highly recommend the guys from this company - they also support with a part of their income to a small local school. It was a fantastic time with Harsh. Thank you for this!

Initially we were very sceptical to do this trip or not, but after meeting Mr. Harsh Dana at the hotel lobby in the evening, we decided to go for the morning trek and we feel if we would not have done this, we would have missed a great chance to experience the forest. We took two trails on two consecutive days: 1) Craig's trek 2) Balley's trail Both me and my wife enjoyed both the walking trails, according to the fitness of the tourists, he normally chooses the trail and it was a very easy and smooth trail, we did little bit of rock climbing - 2-3 feet maybe and walked through the dense forests, where any moment a leopard or sloth bear would have appeared. We heard something, but could not see it, most probably a leopard killing a monkey. We say the poohs of both leopard and bear on the trail, signifying they were all around. Craig's trek, after all the trekking you are gifted with a magnificent view of the plains from over 5000 feet, it is so serene and peaceful, you won't be able to feel it unless you experience it yourself. We started the Bailey's trail from the Nikki lake side, so we captured the sunrise moments near the lake and unlike the Craig'r trek, here you get the breathtaking views throughout the trail. Mr. Dana was explaining us about the forest, also about the flora and fauna in these forest. Gave us bit of history and the culture, he is a nature lover and we were impressed by his passion. it is a highly recommended tour, which you must do, if you are in Mount Abu, since we did both the morning trips, can't comment if the trails are better in the evening or not. There are 21 such trails, so you can choose depending on your fitness and time in hand.

The caves hold historical significance as the site where Swami Vivekananda once meditated, although they are currently not well-maintained.
Very nice and peaceful place must visit during mount abu trip, this is a balaji temple where swami vivekanand has lived for 2 months before going to shikango sammelan

This is just a point on the way to Toad Rock climb, nothing much to see here. One can visit it on their way to toad rock.

If you get a chance, please do visit this and spend some time there, ideally meditating inside taking the permission of the Panditji. Swami Vivekananda's vibes are present here! The Panditji is very knowledgeable and talks in a language you and me can understand. I had a gripping conversation as I say outside the temple. He was kind enough to provide to me some Asana. Looking at us talking, a few more tourists came and sat besides.

This cave has a historic significance as Swami Vivekananda meditated here. I wish the local authorities clean this up and make this a place for tourists to worship instead of keeping it locked
Rahul P — Google review
Administration should be strict to maintain such history places where swami ji spend time for medication... Even though the stairs are not as much good as sunset point still people who has interest in such historic places they loved to visited and spend some quality time over there...

An out of the itinerary place visited while going up to Toad Rock. Glad to be at the place where Swami Vivekananda stayed and meditated before going to USA for his historic speech. ❣🙂 Must stop by. 👍🏻🙂 Thanks !! :)

It is along the track to Toad Rock. This is the cave where Great Swami Vivekananda meditated for some time. There is a Ram temple also here. Situated at the sideways of the Nakki Lake,

Eco Adventures at Mount Abu offers a small and easy mountain trek with the guidance of Himanshu and his team. The Craig's trail is highly recommended for its scenic views and abundant greenery, along with the team's deep knowledge of flora and fauna. Visitors praise their engagement with children, ease of summiting, and fantastic photography skills. The staff is described as super supportive, treating visitors like family members.
I visited two days in first week of September. Great time to visit. If you're driving yourself that's great. Otherwise taxi rentals are available. They'll explain you everything and will take you from one point to another. Take a visit to Arbuda Devi temple particularly. Loved it! Thank you Mount Abu and Dinesh Bhai ( Guide).

Mount Abu has a great outdoors to experience. The real beauty lies in the nature when you visit a view point, caves, jungle and water streams within the wild limit of Abu. Himanshu and his team shared a great experience with me and my friends. It made our trip memorable.

We were searching for a small easy mountain trek at mount Abu. Google suggested us Himanshu and team. Their response was quick, even on Sunday. Craig s trail was advised to us. Trail is super scenic with greenery all around. They have a deep knowledge of flora and fauna. My daughter was constantly engaged by them. Summit was easy to achieve and was marvellous. Fantastic photos were taken by Himanshu and Jitu. I strongly recommend their team for any trek at Mount Abu.

Visited this place years back and loved it. It is a very calm tourist place with beautiful sunset points. Best time to visit, before winters (Oct-Dec)

Review for Mount Abu – A Scenic Treasure Crumbling Under Neglect 🌄 ★☆☆☆☆ Mount Abu is undeniably one of India’s scenic gems—lush hills, cool climate, and spiritual significance. But that beauty is being eroded fast by a staggering lack of preservation and civic responsibility. What should be a protected, revered hill station feels like a dumping ground. Garbage is everywhere: plastic bottles, wrappers, food waste—all strewn across natural trails, viewpoints, even near waterfalls. I’ve attached photos that speak louder than words. They’re not isolated incidents—they’re the norm. Worse still is the shocking frequency of public urination: on roads, rocks, heritage sites, even spots meant for serenity. The infrastructure to maintain cleanliness is either insufficient or entirely absent. No visible public restrooms, no enforcement of hygiene rules, no evident waste collection mechanisms. 📸 A Deteriorating Tourist Experience Even something as simple as sipping chai or taking a photo is frequently interrupted by beggars aggressively approaching tourists. While poverty is a serious concern and deserves empathy, what’s happening here feels coordinated, unchecked, and exploitative. It creates discomfort, tarnishes the experience, and signals a complete breakdown of regulation in public spaces. There’s no sign of social services or local governance addressing the issue—not visibly, at least. 🗣️ Why this matters Tourism may hype up the charm, but without accountability, all that PR is hollow. The image of “Incredible India” must go beyond promotional campaigns—it should reflect real commitment to public infrastructure, environmental care, and civic discipline. 📢 My appeal to the authorities • Install and maintain waste disposal bins at key tourist and religious spots • Enforce anti-littering and anti-public urination laws with visible signage and fines • Ensure adequate restrooms and facilities are accessible, clean, and maintained • Launch awareness drives targeting tourists and locals to preserve Mount Abu’s heritage • Address aggressive begging with proper rehabilitation programs, regulation, and visible local administration presence Mount Abu is stunning—but the experience is suffering. If the government truly wants to make India’s heritage shine, it must start by listening, cleaning, and enforcing.
