Madurodam is an interactive park featuring miniature models of Dutch buildings, landmarks, and daily life. The park showcases famous attractions such as the Binnenhof/Parliament, Peace Palace, and Noordeinde Palace in a 1:25 scale setting. Visitors can explore replicas of windmills, markets, museums, and even witness a harbor fire being extinguished. With pathways and tram tracks creating a sprawling village atmosphere, Madurodam offers an immersive experience for all ages.
Whatta love place to have meal after a fantastic exploration of the Holland miniature park! I highly recommend this tourist spot in the Netherland, The gardens are beautiful well maintained and well worth it a must to see. Brilliant place I was enjoying every single moment there. Toilets are clean. Staffs are lovely and friendly.

We recently visited Madurodam in The Hague, and our entire family had a fantastic time! It was perfect outing for both the adults and kids. This park is more than just miniature models; it's a interactive and educational experience. Our child loved being able to push buttons, make things move, and participate in the various activities throughout the park. It was a brilliant way to see the Netherlands' history and landmarks come to life in a way that engages younger visitors. For the adults, we appreciated the clever use of technology to make the exhibits feel dynamic. It offers a wonderful, bite-sized overview of the country's highlights. If you're looking for an outing that keeps everyone entertained and teaches them something new, Madurodam is a must-see.

I absolutely loved this place. The simulations were so amazing. I lo ed the historic stories told and the entire set up, is genius. A great place for kids but for adults alike. Its so interesting and there is so much to see, time will pass by and you would have spent almost an entire day. The best time to go is from when they open at 10.
Schanees B — Google review
It's a fun place to see the highly detailed miniature Dutch, Amsterdam - cityscapes, buildings, architecture, churches, airports, wind farms, wind mills, Canal systems, functional railway track and different trains running around, traffic vehicles moving on the road, ships, boats moving in the water... It was a fun time.. different big bridges recreated where it feels like a small overpass that you walk on, it's a fun get away
Gautham V — Google review
Great experience for adults and kids. Plenty of interactive setups to keep the kids engaged and interested, while admiring the great miniature cities. There are also other experiences scattered within the park. Good - clean - interactive and engaging activities - park for kids and adults - impressive miniature landmarks - facilities (toilets, restaurants, playgrounds)
Adeel Q — Google review
What if a country makes a fascinating structure where the net proceeds 1st were meant for TB hospital and then later, started going towards the various Charities of the Netherlands? An awesome thrill to know indeed, that such a place does exist, leading humanity to it, where their presence collectively and perpetually, helps such charities out. Madurodam, named after George Maduro, a law student from Curacao, who was awarded 'Medal of Knight', (highest medal of Netherlands) for his tremendous valour in fighting Nazi occupation forces and who died later at Dachau concentration camp in 1945. . Madurodam, was opened for public during 1952. It is a miniature park of the 'Hague', Netherlands consisting of 1:25 scale model replicas and miniature versions of famous Dutch landmarks, cities etc. It includes indoor attractions that tell Dutch histories, art & culture, themed areas, some restaurants, and a few stores to get what-you-want including fridge magnets, bottles and smiling back items, getting ready to get picked up. Travelling to Netherlands? Ensure then, that this is added on to your MUST-VISIT place.
Neeru D — Google review
Madurodam was my favorite experience during my entire trip to the Netherlands. I loved exploring the miniature versions of Dutch cities and landmarks. It felt like traveling through the whole country in just a few hours. My favorite parts were steering the ships through the canals, controlling the helicopter, and interacting with the fun exhibits like attracting the fishes. The park is very well designed, with so many details that bring Dutch history, architecture, and culture to life. It’s both educational and entertaining, making it a great place for families, couples, or solo travelers. I would recommend it as one of the first stops for tourists visiting the Netherlands. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Parking was a little pricey, but that might just be my perspective as a visitor from abroad. Overall, I would definitely like to return and see it again.

Loved it, what a wonderful piece of art, that Is amazing, every zone has its own beauty, moreover nothing is less but plane ✈️ experience inside it is out standing, a must go place to bring you child here. There is also a shall canteen to have some light snacks and a souvenir shop is also there to bring some gifts. Overall a wonderful experience, but remember you must spare enough time to go there because it needs almost half day to complete it properly if you are a detail lover.

Mauritshuis is a government collection in The Hague, Netherlands, featuring hundreds of Dutch paintings including works by renowned artists like Rembrandt and Vermeer.
A bit crowded, but fantastic collection of Dutch painters. The atmosphere and space is just amazing. The gallery is not that huge, I think you can go through in an hour. I highly recommend to download the app before you go.
Petr Z — Google review
Visited Mauritshuis, a very well-known museum located in The Hague, near the Binnenhof. The first interesting thing I learned is that Mauritshuis actually means “Maurits’ house”, which is quite fascinating! However, behind the beauty of the building, the story of how its fortune was built is not entirely pleasant. However I won’t spoil it, because you should visit and find out yourself! This museum is also home to the iconic “Girl with a Pearl Earring” by Johannes Vermeer. Fun fact: we might not even be sure it’s an earring, as it doesn’t appear to be hooked! Another remarkable painting is “View of Delft”, also by Vermeer, which holds a special place in my heart since we live nearby and it carries meaningful memories. We even bought a puzzle of that painting, surprisingly affordable for something sold in such a prestigious museum! During our visit, there was also a live Q&A about painting restoration, where they were working on “The Bull” by Paulus Potter. It was fascinating to see how restoration combines art, material and chemical engineering, ethics, and history. For instance, The Bull was taken during the French occupation of the Netherlands, and at some point, a nail scratch was added to the painting. The big question is: do you fix it, restore it, or keep it as part of history? You decide! You can also download the Mauritshuis app and enjoy a free audio guide directly from your phone. I recommend bringing your own headset for the best experience. Overall, a truly great and thought-provoking experience, so I highly recommended!

A small but nice museum with a collection of beautiful paintings. I went there to see the Girl with the Pearl Earring. It was interesting to watch experts clean up one of the paintings. Staff are friendly & helpful, the museum & facilities are clean and the shop has nice souvenirs. You can buy your tickets at the reception as well as leave your coat and bags.
G. S — Google review
On a per square foot basis, this relatively small museum in the Hague might be the very best art museum in the world. The number of amazing masterpieces from the Dutch is nothing short of stunning. The ability to get close to them is even more wonderful, although people have to abuse this privilege by trying to vandalize the paintings with desserts and other terrible things. From start to finish, we were absolutely stunned by the quality and intimacy of this place. That someone who doesn’t even love art all that much, I fell in love with it.
David S — Google review
We were iffy about going here but saw it listed as maybe the top attraction in den Haag we ponied up and I enjoyed the very impressive detail of so many paintings from around 1600s then seeing Rubens and Rembrandt I was able to see what made them different and special - luminescence and stuff so that was interesting. To save walking up the steps there is a lift but the trick is the button is on top of the post outside not on the wall so if you’re looking on the wall you’ll never find the button for the lift.
Ultimobile — Google review
The Mauritshuis is a beautifully curated museum with an exceptional collection, including several world-famous paintings like Vermeer’s Girl with a Pearl Earring and Rembrandt’s The Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp. The galleries are intimate and thoughtfully arranged, which makes it easy to appreciate each masterpiece up close. However, the museum is quite small, and the ticket price feels a bit high for the amount of time you can comfortably spend inside. Even so, the quality of the artwork and the elegance of the building make it a memorable and worthwhile visit.
T H — Google review
The museum is relatively small in size, but the collection of artworks it houses is exceptionally valuable and impressive. It includes masterpieces by Rembrandt, Vermeer, Hals, and many other renowned artists. Despite its size, the museum offers a rich and rewarding experience. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.
Ali K — Google review
Many famous paintings are worth seeing, and the service is excellent from the front desk to the guiding staff. However, the museum’s voice guidance system isn't good enough; it has limited voice introductions to only some of the paintings and needs better optimization. It would be better to integrate it into a single system so tourists don't have to constantly switch between earphones, their own mobile phones, and the museum’s guidance devices.

The Peace Palace, located in The Hague, Netherlands, is a stunning Renaissance-style complex that houses judicial courts, gardens, and a library. It serves as the home for the International Court of Justice and the Permanent Court of Arbitration. Built with funding from Andrew Carnegie to promote peace through international law, it officially opened in 1913.
Visitor center is free to visit. Lots of information. View of gardens and peace palace. We had booked the inside the palace tour. No photos allowed. Our guide, Leon, was great! The interior is beautiful. Decorated with gifted items from countries - marble from Italy, tiles from Delft/Netherlands, statue from US, tapestries from Japan, etc. Got to see Court of Arbitration and Court of Justice. Highly recommend!
Jeannie B — Google review
Not much to see and the whole palace is quite far from the entrance meaning you won't even get a good photo. The surrounding area with all of the Villas and embassies is much better.
Maciej P — Google review
The Peace Palace is not only a beautiful landmark, but also a global symbol. It represents the hope of peace and the idea of true justice — a place where the world should find fairness and equality.
Mohamed S — Google review
Website says you have to book a tour. I booked a tour called "inside the peace palace" only at the beginning to be told by the tour guide "this is not a tour of the inside of the peace palace - as it says on your tour ticket". Well that's deceptive. Frankly a waste of money to walk around the gardens and hear about the statues....don't bother booking. Ironic for the centre of transparency and truth to be so deceptive about its tours.
Alec T — Google review
Peace palace is a property of Carnegie foundation. International court of Justices and Permanent court of arbitration operates out of here. Impressive building. The court room exudes authority and power. General entry is not permitted inside the building
Deepak T — Google review
Free admission with a free audio guide on your phone (recommend to bring your own earphones if you prefer not to use theirs). Very informative from origin to different case studies. However, there was no guided tour and we were confined to a rather small exhibition area.
Jennifer Y — Google review
The palace is beautiful, and of importance, worth a quick view. You can only see the building from the outside. There are for now only a few possibilities to enter the building, only a couple of times a year, with a tour. Book in advance. But: at of this moment no tour has been scheduled. The Visitors Center, although the people are friendly and helpful, is not worth a visit. You will not find any interesting pieces of history. And the visiting takes only 2 minutes. In my opinion it could have been so much more interesting. P.s. There are toilets inside, to enter the toilets, you need a 50 cents coin.
Hans D — Google review
Truly very peaceful place The Peace Palace, Hague. The court structure is humongous and picturesque along with vast green lush beautiful garden. Also there are two significant structures; first The Peace tree where people tie peace notes which is an amazing feeling to be able to notice add your own peace note and feel part of world peace and Second a peace memorial fire which has one stone from each country put around it. This is one of a kind experience to be here.

Panorama Mesdag is an art museum showcasing the impressive panoramic beach painting by 19th-century artist Hendrik Mesdag. The circular painting offers a naturalistic depiction of the beach at Scheveningen as it appeared in 1881, skillfully capturing lighting and perspective. Visitors can appreciate the work from a central viewing platform. Additionally, nearby at the Mesdag Collection, more of Mesdag's land- and seascapes are on display, providing further insight into his artistic prowess.
It's a surreal experience to see a life-like panoramic painting from the view point (hut) supposedly on a sanddune in a beach overlooking beach and sea on one side and old Den Haag city on the other side. From the viewpoint, the cealing of the painting is not visible at the top and the bottom of the painting smoothly transitions and merges into the beach sanddune setting around the viewing spot... So we don't see where the painting actually stops and the actual sand begins... unless we squint. And the natural lighting makes it all the more realistic, and the painting is at optimal distance that we barely feel any parallax, at the same time we don't see any brush strokes, making it very much real.
Gautham V — Google review
The 360 painting mixed with real objects give you such a surreal experience. Spend your time to take a look at the painting. The details on the painting is amazing. We are looking it wasn't busy so we get to really see the whole thing. Personally I do think its worth the 16 just to see this painting. Don't forget there are also other exhibition on ground floor. The place is not big though.
Yiqiang X — Google review
Panorama Mesdag is the largest painting in the Netherlands. The museum's collection includes the works of Mr. and Mrs. Mesdag, both painters. One hall is allocated to temporary exhibitions. The panorama is beautiful and realistic, you feel like you actually live in the 19th century. Definitely recommended.
Banu D — Google review
This one is a must experience. One of the most impressive works of art I've ever seen. Until 14 sept 2025 also an very impressive expo from Scarlett Hooft Graafland. Enjoy🙏🙏🙏

Very nice experience with panorama painting. They also have exhibitions sometimes.
Nirupam B — Google review
This was understated brilliance! There are 3 rooms of paintings by Mesdag and his wife, very good introduction to the artist. Then you head through the dark passage and up the spiral staircase and you gasp at the amazing panorama. It takes you back in time as if you are there. Extraordinary! 🤯
Graham H — Google review
It was a great experience to see the panorama painting. It felt like I was looking at the real city with so many details. You can even look with binoculars. Rest of the collection was also great.

The Louwman Museum, located in The Hague, Netherlands, is home to an impressive private collection of over 250 antique and classic cars, motorcycles, and other automotive artifacts. Founded by Evert Louwman, the museum showcases vehicles dating back to the late 19th century as well as rare exhibits such as early motorcars, racing legends, and innovative prototypes.
We had the best time at the Louwman car museum the other day, and I highly recommend it. Seeing some of the earliest cars ever made was pretty cool. The museum was arranged so well, making it easy to navigate and appreciate each vehicle. There were so many interesting and informative displays that we learned a lot. Overall, it was a really great experience!
Chane Z — Google review
Amazing muzeum with a variety of motorised vehicles, from horseless carragies, motor bikes and cars, to fire engines and buses. A lot of interesting information provided. Great collection of car related art as well. The parking is quite expensive, especially given that it is a car museum.
Alicja C — Google review
Sore feet warning - but there are plenty of places to sit down to rest along the way. We spent three hours here - even my partner who was not interested in cars was quite absorbed - the most pre-1900 cars I’ve seen - the earliest hybrid electric - the earliest electric cars - an amazing variety in history. After that we needed a break but the on-site cafe while looking like Disneyland was disappointing. The Dutch snack plate recommended by the waiter was four deep fried potato croquettes, two deep fried chicken nuggets, maybe four tiny spring rolls of cheese and some potato crisps from a packet - not impressive. I had a white beer which also didn’t taste that good to me.
Ultimobile — Google review
This museum is a great collection starting from the very beginning of building cars, transitioning horse wagons into motorized vehicles. A beautiful building this collection will blow your mind while you walk from one room into the next and find another treasure. It is possible to see everything in two hours walk, but if you prefer to have a better understanding of all the cars, you can easily fill up a whole day within the museum. There is as well restaurants, which looks very cozy. Overall, the experience is Really great.
Leon V — Google review
Great experience. It is perhaps one of its kind! Really impressive. Some suggestions: the entrance is quite crammed with one person doing everything and no space. Also would be interesting to add how much the vehicles cost at their time and the equivalent for our days. I think it can show us how accessible the cars were for common people. Anyways it was amazing!
Julie C — Google review
Really a very wonderful museum. Thought about going there for years but didn't do it till today because I thought it was expensive, small and focussed on on a few rarity cars. Boy was I wrong! The external images of the museum makes it look ehh, not large. But in reality it is. It also has 3 (!) floors. Most of the collection covers the era between 1890 till the 1960's which I really like. I wish some of the colours on these cars where available today, just marvelous. Also a lot of cars with a special place in history, a Cadillac owned by Elvis Presley, the Austin martin db5 from James Bond Goldfinger. Both cars from the British film Genevieve (which I just watched and loved). Two cars from The godfather and a lot more. Must not forget to mention the cafe which is indoors but designed like let's say a village square. Simple but lovely. Lots of eye candy. In short, don't be deceived by the external shots which make it it feel small. The place is huge and in it's own a really wonderful building, but go there and be amazed!!
Erwin B — Google review
Best museum I have ever visited. Cleverly designed path keep your attention, there is a piece of collection that you can relate to in every corner and it's not just cars. You can find old fuel pump, car toys, biycles, everything that is related to transportation. I highly reccomend the Museum.

Binnenhof is an iconic landmark in The Hague, housing the Dutch parliament within medieval buildings surrounding a central courtyard. The exquisite Ridderzaal, or Knights Hall, and the First Chamber with its painted medallions of King William II are must-see attractions. This picturesque government complex also includes the Second Chamber, Rolzaal Court House, and Lairessezaal with 17th-century paintings.
Beautiful hsitoric group of buildings where the Dutch government (parliament and senat) is having its official meetings. When we visited in August 2024 some buildings were being renovated and were closed for the public. We really enjoyed walking in the area full of Dutch history.
Harold O — Google review
From the outside, it looks decent, but there’s nothing too exciting about it. It’s a historic place, but at the moment, a lot of the area is under construction, so it doesn’t feel very special. If you’re already nearby, it’s fine for a quick stop and a couple of photos, but I wouldn’t go out of my way just to visit. There are definitely more interesting spots around.
Zhang B — Google review
The Binnenhof, formerly known as the Hof van Holland, is a complex of buildings in downtown The Hague that houses the Dutch Parliament and Government. Although Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands, government activities are conducted in The Hague. The Binnenhof is a 15-minute walk from The Hague Central Station. Built in the 13th century, this Gothic-style castle originally served as the residence of Dutch royalty and became a political center in 1584. It is among the top 100 Dutch heritage sites. The Binnenhof is one of the oldest Parliament buildings in the world still in use...
Hendra S — Google review
Beautiful walk around the city. The Hague itself and the people were wonderful
Eoin K — Google review
Under extensive renovation until (probably) 2030, but the platform installed just besides it, provides a glimpse of its beauty

Beautiful Parliament office that sits next to the Hofvijver lake, which is also lovely with the fountains flowing, ducks, swimming, and great weather. Definitely one of the sights to see when in the area. The area on the other side is under construction and we could not see a way in to check if tours or anything were available still.
K E — Google review
The Binnenhof, meaning "inner court," was built in the 13th century as a hunting lodge for the Counts of Holland and later developed into the country’s political heart. At its center stands the Ridderzaal (Hall of Knights), where the King delivers his annual speech on Prinsjesdag (the opening of Parliament). The complex is arranged around a central courtyard with additional small squares at the rear, housing the Dutch Houses of Parliament, the Prime Minister’s office, and key government institutions. Still in use as one of the world’s oldest parliamentary buildings, the Binnenhof has been undergoing major renovations since 2021, expected to finish by 2028 or 2030.

Incredible! The palace in of itself is brilliant, but the history, life and works of M. C. Escher is just awe inspiring. I loved every moment of my few hours (yes that's all you need here). I really took my time walking around, reading pretty much everything. There's a summary as you enter each room/ gallery. I was really impressed by floor 3. Modern pieces that interpret the mind bending greatness of Eschers works, so do go up to the top floor. My biggest takeaway was how massively inspired/influenced/ motivated Escher was by the Islamic art and architecture of South Spain/ Andalucia. In the narrative there was more emphasis on his time in Italy and the wonderful landscapes there, but in my opinion Andalucia changed something in him towards the magnificent work we all really know him for, tessalations, metamorphosis, patterns, perspective etc. A memorable visit!

Loved this musuem. It was sorry of a two for the price of one as it was housed in a formal royal palace of Emma, the Queen Mother, mother to Queen Wilhelmina. Most of Escher's famous works were on display. Left the museum appreciating the genius that Escher was. Also has a cafe but didn't access it.
Heather M — Google review
An absolutely fascinating museum! The presentation of Escher’s work is outstanding — each piece is worth your time and your thoughts. Highlights include Metamorphosis III, an extraordinary 7-meter-long masterpiece that flows seamlessly from one image to another, and the mesmerizing Circle Limit series, where Escher’s genius for blending art and mathematics truly shines. The illusions room is a delight, letting you step into the kind of visual paradoxes that made Escher world-famous. A perfect blend of art, geometry, and imagination — not to be missed when in The Hague.

Amazing artworks told and explained very well. I especially enjoyed the method which documented Escher's life and work - very elegant. The decision to display his works in the palace was well made, the architecture is splendid and wonderous.

If you're into architectural signs, you'll be amazed—it's like stepping into this museum! Truly stunning and beyond your wildest dreams. I spent two hours there, but honestly, it wasn’t enough to take in all the amazing creativity. It’s absolutely fantastic!

This place bends your brain in the best way possible. It’s M.C. Escher, so yes, the famous “stairs that go nowhere” are here, along with loads of other works (including some I’d never seen before). Honestly, I half expected to walk out of the museum upside down. The ticket price is refreshingly reasonable (rare in The Hague, where even a coffee can feel like modern art). I’d definitely go again. Tip: go in the morning, there’s so much to see that if you arrive late, your head will be spinning from illusions and from fatigue. Bring curiosity, maybe a coffee, and prepare to wonder if the gift shop exit is actually the entrance.

Beautiful museum! Extensive collection and enjoyed the interactive parts at the end on the top floor. They have free lockers for your bags, a cafe downstairs, and clean bathrooms.

All round good exhibit in an historic house. Who doesn't love Escher? If you don't, this isn't for you. If you do you'll find lots of prints and background. Many of the prints are marked "eigen druk" which means "my own print." Would have been nice if they'd cracked a few windows... Lockers are in basement and use fake coins they hand out. Bathroom was decent.

Noordeinde Palace, a historic site dating back to the 16th century, serves as the Dutch king's offices and is not open for public tours.
Oh wow that was amazing, I wanted to visit that place just because it came to my mind to visit a royal palace and I got lucky because then figured out that it was opened just for two weeks in the year. The atmosphere inside is magnificent and I felt soo lucky to be there. There was even audio guides which I did not expect. The only rule that you need to hang it on your neck posed me off😄 because I don’t like to hang something on the neck and feel uncomfortable. Also mind that you can’t take videos and of course touch anything. But photos were amazing, I wanted to match the place as also few (unfortunately) people. Because I am maybe very visual so people on the sneakers and shorts was breaking the feeling that you are somewhere in the classy place and brought you back to relity.

The day i went i was lucky that there was an ceremony for two new ambassador so i had experienced the march and horse carriage around the palace.

Definitely worth a visit if you have the opportunity, because it's rare to see a palace that is in actual use. Only accessible for a few weeks per year, though, and with limited availability of tickets.

A wonderful experience visiting Palace Noordeinde, the working palace of the Dutch King. It’s a rare treat since the palace is only open to the public for a couple of weeks each year. We loved learning about its rich history and seeing the many beautifully decorated rooms, each with its own official purpose. We bought a combination ticket with the Royal Stables and spent about 3 hours in total exploring both. The audio guide was excellent and really brought the stories to life. Overall, a great afternoon and highly recommended if you get the chance!

Beautiful palace with a lovely architecture. This is the working palace of our king and he opened it to the public during his holidays. A good choice, the palace houses a lot of history. The works of art, various rooms give you a unique glimpse behind the scenes of the Royal House. The Tour is well organised. There are two queues and just in time I could enter. There is a set route and on arrival you can do an audio/video Tour. The audio/video Tour really comes highly recommended. You get a lot of information about the rooms and art. I enjoyed it!

We were so lucky to find tickets as the palace is open to visitors only for a few days during the summer. The entire experience is beautiful and so special! The audio guide which you'll receive at the entrance free of charge is very informative and easy to use. All the staff members were amazing, always smiling and happy to answer any questions. The palace itself is superb and unique, so worth visiting if you get the opportunity!

Sea Life Scheveningen is a family-friendly aquarium located in The Hague's seaside district. Since its opening in 1991, it has been home to a diverse array of marine species from around the globe, including sharks, rays, sea turtles, and tropical fish. The aquarium features thematic areas representing various marine habitats such as coral reefs, the Atlantic Ocean, and the North Sea.
A very interesting aquatic museum. At the entrance, the little ones receive a map and participate in a mysterious treasure hunt while visiting the museum. In a projection room, they can draw and see how their drawings come to life once they have been scanned.

Very, very impressive. I didn't expect to see such a big variety of fish. Don't hesitate to visit this aquarium. For kids this will be a big waw!
Dumitru D — Google review
A very small sea life . I spent 20 minutes there. I was disappointed. A dozen or so years ago, there were jellyfish, but now there are none. It's a great attraction for small children. As an adult, I felt somewhat dissatisfied.

Sea Life in Scheveningen was a fun experience. The aquariums were accompanied with interesting information on the inhabitants and the ecosystems they usually live in. My personal highlight was the otter, I could have spent hours watching that little guy groom, take a swim, relax.
Stephanie P — Google review
Quite interesting for the kids, stylized interior, one can take pictures as souvenirs then printed or as magnets in the souvenir shop at the exit.
Anna M — Google review
A slightly salty review of Sea Life — lots of people, little fish, expensive tickets. I went to sea life as a kid, when you could still hear touch all of the fish. I wanted to take my kid for that same experience, and while they enjoyed it, I did not. The whole set up hasn’t changed since the nineties and feels like it’s straight out of movie set for some B-movie. There are literally vending machines with candy and drinks everywhere sometimes two in one room. The vending machines crowd out the tanks and the fish and in between the bad lightening and poor air circulation, if they put some slot machines in—it would be hard to know if you’re in Sea World or Holland Casino. It was very crowded and the set up was too narrow for the number of people, which really should be capped. They have some nice sections with different types of animals including a small crocodile and and the penguins. But the enclosures are small making it hard to enjoy the experience. The underwater tunnel feels like you’re actually diving, as the air circulation is terrible and it feels like you’re deprived of oxygen walking through it. Some of the windows desperately need a clean, for instance it was near impossible to see the otters because the glass was stained so badly. I like that they did some education on environmentalism here and there and that they contribute to breeding various species. That being said, for a whopping 64-65 euros for two adults and 1 kid, this place really needs to be lifted out of the nineties. If I’m going to be paying Disney prizes I’m going to expect a ride, rather than a school of vending machines and plenty of people rather than fish in the Sea (Life)
Cor C — Google review
It was a great experience with a wide variety of fish and sea creatures. It’s very well presented. A bit small for the ticket price, but still worth a visit.
Niki U — Google review
25€ for a small aquarium is not worth it. Especially when it concerns the wellbeing of the maritime creatures they have. The aquariums were to small for most of them and the penguin had their wings blocked with bracelets of plastic with no need for that.

Located in The Hague, Family park Drievliet is a popular destination for families seeking a day of thrilling rides and delightful attractions. From heart-pounding roller coasters to gentle rides suitable for young children, the park offers a wide range of entertainment options. In addition to the exciting rides, visitors can also enjoy entertaining shows such as the Jungle Show and pirate spectacle at the Parktheater.
A very nice family friendly park with attraction for all ages. As soon as your kid is 100 cm it can try almost all attractions together with a grown-up. Just a very few are from 140 cm on. Great park to visit with children in different ages.
Stephanie H — Google review
Overall, we had an enjoyable day. I visited with my 3-year-old son (under 1 meter tall), and there were enough attractions suitable for his age group. The park is well thought out for small children. A few practical notes: The lockers weren’t working, and the park is quite large. If you’re coming with extra belongings, I recommend bringing something to help you carry them easily, a stroller can be very helpful, even if you think your child won’t need it much. The women’s toilets near the restaurant area were insufficient; it’s better to use the ones in other parts of the park. I suggest arriving early in the morning and starting from the far end of the park, going against the general flow. That way, you’ll avoid long queues at the first attractions.
Ugur — Google review
Drievliet is a fun and well-organized amusement park, especially ideal for families with children. While I personally enjoyed the visit, most of the rides and attractions are clearly designed with younger kids in mind. It’s a great place for a relaxed day out, but adults seeking thrill rides might find the options limited. That said, there are still a few exciting rides for older visitors, like the fast roller coaster Formule X, the wild mouse-style ride Kopermijn, the spinning coaster Twistrix, and the powered coaster Dynamite Express. Additionally, adults can enjoy rides like Nautilus, a swinging and spinning attraction, and Draaikolk, a fast-turning ride. As a whole, it’s a highly recommended destination for families with kids.
Raghavendra M — Google review
Great place to spend a day with the little ones. I really apreciated that most of the atractions were spitale for my 3.5 yo. And the ones for the older children were truely enjoyable. Also I loved the fact that the park is quite compact and don't spend a lot of time walking between the atractions, and thus we managed to enjoy almost all the atractions during one day, some even more times. Another plus was that there were no big ques (we spent maximum 10-15 minutes for the most atractive, although we went in full vacation sezon). All in all, a perfect alternative to biserica and more famous atraction parks in The Netherlands and around.
Alexandra T — Google review
We went as a group of 8 people, including 2 toddlers, and we loved it. The size of the park is just the right size, not too big, not too small. Perfect for families with children (as the name suggests, familypark). There are enough rides for children (in our case, toddlers) to enjoy. We especially appreciated the water play park. The only minus thing is the food, there were not enough choices, and very expensive. So, I would suggest bringing your own food and snacks!

Overall we had an okay day, but that was only because I am someone who's glass is always half full! Because what happend? . Me and my daughter got stuck in the owl 🦉 ride, our car suddenly started smoking really bad and the machinist truly was not able to handle correct in that moment. I was able to put my daughter (4y) out of the car and let her wait with my oldest.. as soon as I knew they were save, I focused on the women next to me. Who was in a panic attack. With some breath work and guidance, I was able to calm her down. 2) after this, I made the decision to calm down with some food! 3 sodas and 3 sandwishes were €30. Crazy! And it wasn't even good, had to throw away the sandwich with cheese. 3) other malfunctioning attractions were also part of our experience. Which did not make us feel safe. Conclusion, we had fun. But I would not go back, as it is clearly not a safe park to go to. Be careful.

Suppose this last weekends was Halloween 🎃 celebration but they have nothing. Barely banners of Halloween and a 2 things related to Halloween. We came specially to celebrate. But not worth it. The atracciones look old or need manteinace and some paint , for the price I find there are better pret parks. And for Halloween this is not the place.
Lina S — Google review
We went there on Sunday 13/7 10:45 and it was amazing! Not busy at all, jumping in every game almost instantly! There are plenty of games for all tastes, fast and slow, high and low. There are also enough tables to sit and enjoy a lunch from home or from the snack bar over there. In general it’s highly recommended especially if the kids are taller than 130cm.

The Prison Gate Museum in The Hague offers tours that delve into the history of crime and punishment, featuring jailer's quarters, an interrogation room, and judges' chambers. Situated at the division between the Buitenhof and Binnenhof, this museum provides insight into medieval times and showcases the imposing architecture of the former main gateway to the castle for the Counts of Holland.
One of the most interactive museum I’ve ever been in the Netherlands! The museum’s audio guide narrations were really nice and engaging, feels like you’re being brought back in time 👀 They make it into 2 parts, so make sure in the end and to ask the staffs if you have visited all parts of the museum.
Sufya — Google review
I would advice mainly two things: - book in advance because there are time slots, so if you just show up you might not be allowed to enter. - the visit is split in two parts, first part is the history, second part starts where the first part starts. I almost missed this one, because it wasn’t obvious. Just go back to the front desk and they will tell you where to go. First part is more interactive, second part goes deeper into what the prison used to be. Also if you do the second part you’ll end up outside in the yard where there’s a 1812 guillotine (the original one), and also the torture chamber mentioned in the first part.

I highly recommend you going there if you come to The Hague. It’s very interesting in how far back they go. I’ll be attaching some pictures. I want to say they were truly barbaric, but again you have to think of the time. some of the pictures are the tools they used in the dungeon and on one picture you’ll see a little box in the corner and that was their toilet. It is a very fascinating museum.

Such a fun experience! Very educational and interesting—the museum preserves a piece of history that makes its visitors reflect on how far our justice and penal systems have come. The open and light museum really contrasts to how dark and intimidating it must’ve been in the 1500s. Just a really cool spot!

"The Prison Gate was originally an entrance gate to the castle of the Counts of Holland, built in medieval times. For many years after, it served as a prison to the Court of Holland. Nowadays the museum tells the story of crime and punishment across the centuries." The museum is very well preserved. When I visited the prisoner cells, I had the feeling that I travelled back in time. The museum provides valuable information about the judicial processes in history. I did not know that there are special cells for wealthy people, like a hotel room😃 There are even interactive settings, for example, by pushing a button, you can act as a judge and try to decide on a verdict! I really enjoyed my visit.

Such a brilliant place, so much history and the information on the exhibitions was amazing. They give you a booklet when you first go in and it’s a self-guided tour, then you can come back for part 2 where you follow a different route with an audio tour to guide you. I was so impressed, in particular with how close you could get to everything. Worth the money i’d say

Went to see a really nice movie about fungi and forests. While still impressive, the projection technology seems to be showing its age with rather blurry picture quality and low brightness compared to current day cinema tech. Your eyes do adjust to it if you're used to IMAX theaters. On a 28C day the viewing hall was surprisingly hot with no AC in the hall itself. Luckily we had some hand fans which made it a lot more bearable. The cinema store was cute and the staff while inexperienced were very polite. Had a nice experience, but for 17 euro admission I'd only come back if they improved their tech.

Impressive Experience at Omniversum Den Haag! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Omniversum Den Haag is a must-visit! The dome-style theatre offers a unique and immersive movie-watching experience you won’t find anywhere else. We watched OCEAN, narrated by David Attenborough — a stunning and powerful film. While we had hoped it would fill the entire dome ceiling, it was still an incredible visual journey. The sound and screen quality are top-notch, and the atmosphere really draws you in. Highly recommend for families, tourists, and anyone looking for something special in The Hague!

An unique experience. I didn't realize the dome where you view the movies is in the back of the complex and you have to walk around the entire museum to get to it(see photo). I saw the "Celebration of Pink Floyd’s legendary album Dark side of the Moon." I was expecting a music video or video set to The Dark side of the Moon. However, this was something completely different. This was more like a few artists' take on the album. The songs were remixed and set to very trippy visuals, that is really the only way to describe it. It almost felt like someone had left on the visualizer from an old Microsoft media player at times.

This place is amazing!! I didn't expect it to be this cool. We took a 10am session to see the turtle odyssey and it was beautiful. Smartly only 47 min because my toddler was already at his end. Then I went to the museum because the ticket came together. And oh boy I didn't expect so many interactive and fun things to do! So worth the 17 euros! Other places charge you so much and offer so little. Just some tips: food could have more options and healthier ones. Also some interactive things were not well explained. The session with "men evolution " could have a warning sign. It's quite frightening for a small kid. Other than that had a great time and didn't want to leave!

The exhibition is great! The idea of illustrating "sustainable development" is wonderful! But it's not technically well thought out. Young and older children study the questions, but soon they get tired of "thinking through" them and just run around the room, punching holes in a card slot machine without really understanding the topic. It's a bit sad.... Also we enjoyed the film in the cinema! And the museum is connected to the art gallery by a simple glass corridor! So you can simply walk there without going outside, but you'll need to buy other tickets, of course!

Fantastic museum built into the dune. Nice architecture... The art on display is beautiful sculptures. On the day of my visit there was also a children's workshop to teach them to create clay moulds. It is a pleasant museum to visit.

Specialty Museums
Museon, located in The Hague, is a cutting-edge museum that offers an enriching experience for families. It delves into the intricate connection between humanity and the environment through its extensive collections spanning geology, biology, history, archeology, physics, technology and ethnology. With over 273,000 objects on display including items from the Inuit culture of Greenland and artifacts related to the Japanese occupation of the Dutch East Indies.
We took our grand daughters there and had a wonderful time exploring the museum. It was followed by the movie theater next door (a dome type IMAX). Animal Kingdom and Turtle Odyssey was playing. Both were excellent.

Really nice museum with lot's of interactive exhibits for the kids (and adults). I really recommend it for families! There's also a very nice garden and it's linked to a dome shaped cinema that often played nature documentaries.
Jeff B — Google review
It is a nice museum, where we need around 2-3 hours with children aged 6 years old. Interesting topics and interactive learning through different stations was the best experience for us. As adults, we also learned new things.
Julie C — Google review
Very education and fun for kids, we had a good day. Don't look for Omniversum if you want to see a movie, it's called dome and located outside on the right you will find signs, again not Omniversum.. so confusing

This is a great museum for everyone. It is family-friendly, and you can spend a day exploring mankind's relationship with nature and culture. It is very educational and engaging, explaining several biological, chemical, and geological phenomena in a clear and understandable way. I strongly recommend it if you are in the area. Don't forget to combine your trip with the amazing Omniversum.

We were there on a weekend and it was lovely. We had a 6 and 8 year old with us and neither of them got bored in the over 4 hours we were there and that was just with the movie and skipping around the second floor. I highly recommend for anyone with children, though I would recommend it for children 5 and up as most of the displays are hip level for adults and need reading

Great place for kids and family👪, irrespective of your age, you will enjoy this small yet vast Museum. It have lots of section, though small but have lot of information . At grond floor, it's music especial so you can engage with lot of instrument and can see few pieces from the history. On 1st floor, lot of info about planet , geography, history of Netherlands, space, under water life, list if endless.. After doing this museum if you have energy left( which is difficult) you can move to omniversum, again a excellent and out of world experience. Highly recommend.. Enjoy😊

Westduinpark, located between Scheveningen and Kijkduin in The Hague, is a vast nature reserve known for its diverse landscape of forests, open plains, moist dune valleys, and elevated dune tops. This sea-facing park offers hiking and biking opportunities amid sand dunes and heather. It is popular with runners, dog owners, and families who can encounter Highland cows and other herd animals while exploring the area.
A fantastic place to walk and enjoy the sea. The cows are absolutely cute. Very clean with great walking paths and small hills with panoramic view.

Very nice nature reserve, offering a lot of different trails through the sand dunes or to the beach. Can be crowded in the weekends. Be aware with Google maps. A lot of walking trails on Google go through closed areas, where you are not allowed to walk.

Really nice beach and great that it is available for dogs too. Trash cans every few meters, the only thing is there are no public toilets except for the restaurants but that's not the end of the world. Water available to clean your feet at the exit.

my favorite park of all. quiet, not that crowded, full of light, sand, trees. you can find Scottish Highland cows, horses, there’s a hedgehog shelter and it’s close to the sea. a beautiful place to meditate.

Looks like the end of the world. I was there early in the morning and it looked absolutely stunning. The sounds of seagulls, ocean waves and colder wind really gives the perfect atmosphere. Also be prepared to get some sand in your shoes!

Nice place to go for a walk. There is a good restaurant on the beach if you want to stop for a meal. We saw plenty of dogs off leash running on the beach.

Big park offering nice sceneries and some of the few hills you can find in The Hague, if you are into resistance training (running). The bike lanes are well maintained for being in an over exposed area. Open 24/7 but there is no artificial illumination (because it is a natural reserve), so I wouldn’t recommend visiting it during the night. Free entrance.

Modern art museum
Kunstmuseum The Hague is a stunning example of 20th-century museum architecture, designed by H. P. Berlage and completed in 1935. It houses an extensive collection of over 150,000 artworks, with a focus on modern art. The museum is renowned for having the world's largest collection of works by Piet Mondrian, as well as pieces by other influential artists like Claude Monet and Vincent van Gogh.
A big public museum in the World Forum neighborhood. It has a beautiful permanent collection by Dutch and international artists. Plus, I had the opportunity to visit two temporary exhibitions. Both exhibitions were very well designed. The museum staff was very kind and helpful. I enjoyed the visit very much. Congratulations to the museum.
Banu D — Google review
It definitely is a one-of-a-kind museum. We enjoyed the visit through and through. The desserts exhibition is sweet and lovely. The modern art floor is novel and mischievous at times. The building itself is distinctively “Mondrian”. The underground floor is particularly good which module I have never experienced earlier in other museums. It is so well designed that it managed to hold the attention of both adults and children from beginning to the end, thus serves the purpose of educating the mass audience some rudimentary knowledge of modern art. I think four hours is needed.
Yulan Z — Google review
What a sight. Worthwhile seeing on its own. Interesting special and regular exhibitions. van Gogh, Monet, Mondrian, Kirchner, Kandinsky, Picasso, Schiele and many more to be seen. But only refering to those exceptional artists does not do justice to so many others.
Igor A — Google review
Absolutely delightful! An absolutely stunning regular collection of paintings: Picasso, Kandinsky, Van Gogh, and Mondrian among others! We discovered Jacoba van Heemskerck! And what a beauty the "Grand Dessert" exhibition is! Incredibly beautiful porcelain! And then we came across the "Titanic" exhibition! Gorgeous dresses from the era of the film of the same name! What fine work, it turns out, was done by Hollywood! And, what's more, the exhibition includes costumes from the era of the actual events of the film!
Irina S — Google review
Amazing place! I habe not noticed how the 4 hours passed by. Mondrian collection is stunning! I have seen works I've never suspected to come from Mondrian. Temporary exhibitions are amazing. The museum was not very crowded. I bought tickets in the museum, there was no queue. I have not made it to see everything in 4 hours and I will definitely come back 🥰

An absolutely not to be missed museum. Architecturally a very significant building. The traveling exhibit we saw on the history of Paris was exceptional. The museum has a great permanent collection.

The museum is one of Europe’s leading museums for modern art and design. Founded in 1866 and renamed in 2019, it is housed in a striking building designed by H.P. Berlage and completed in 1935. Its collection of more than 165,000 works spans painting, decorative arts, fashion, music, prints, ceramics, and silver. Museum Voorlinden is a private museum located in Wassenaar, near The Hague, showcasing a remarkable collection of modern and contemporary art. Opened in 2016, the museum was inaugurated by King William-Alexander and features the renowned Caldic Collection, assembled by businessman and art collector Joop van Caldenborgh. The striking white building houses a rich and surprising collection, including permanent works created specifically for the museum as well as temporary exhibitions.
Had a wonderful day exploring the museum with friends. There was lost of variation and the set up of the rooms is so nice and easy to navigate. It is spacious so even when crowded still does not feel full. The little book you receive at entry gives lots of background on every art piece. Some of the art would place in my house, so interesting and cool. Also enjoyed the pop-up shop and regular shop. The candy special that required a time-slot was very nice, go in line timely, but it goes quite fast. This special part required shoes off. For those that can’t take off their shoes there are shoe covers. Spent around 2,5/3 hours in the museum. Also beautiful landscaping outside.

Museum VoorlinMuseum Voorlinden is a beautiful and well-curated modern art museum, worth visiting if you are in the area. The staff is friendly and helpful, which made the experience smooth and pleasant. The artworks are all special in their own way, and each room offers something different. A standout for us was the marshmallow house — playful and unexpected, it really stood out as a highlight. There are a few practical things to note. You are not allowed to take even a water bottle inside, so plan accordingly. Also, the toilets are located outside the main building, which means you have to walk a bit to reach them. Overall, a unique and engaging museum experience. We give it 4 out of 5 stars. den

The pool is very famous yes, but if u go there just for that I would say it’s not worth it. But there are so much more to see. The environment surrounded is just so good to be true. Highly recommended even if just for the view outside. And the museum inside itself must be one of the most beautiful museum I have ever seen.

It's a very enjoyable place. Kids can enjoy it too. But we loved the cafe right next to it. The forest where the museum is located was wonderful. The landscaping was beautiful. You can also take a walk around the area.
Arzu E — Google review
I admit the artworks worth a visit however I have to be honest the experience was not good for a 22 euro. a) In that "sweet Memories"... everyone was asked to take off shoes, understandable though still a bit strange. Maybe I got bad luck in that group someone had unbearable stench filled the whole small candy room. At least for me that was zero sweet but a completely disgusting memories. b) It's normal and common sense not to touch the artwork but arguable the distance. I was struggling from the warning: "keep the distance"... I don't see it's normal for a museum to forbid visitors to look closely for details. Meanwhile to mention there is no clear sign at least for the "large-mini copied chairs". As a well known museum, you are not doing properly in leveraging the communication towards ur visitors between: "don't touch", "keep distance" and "look closely". If u believe signs break the artworks and atmosphere, then u should do it professionally in a different way. Good luck with your visit and hope all of u will have a Sweet Memories there... 😂 For me the disgusting memories + a strange "keep distance" warning made a very unpleasant experience for only 2 stars.

pretty and enjoyable museum with a lot of modern art installation! sometimes they also have live art performance, it is very interesting to watch!

We had an amazing experience at Museum Voorlinden. The staff were quick to help, the gift shop had high quality and actually unique pieces, the various pieces on exhibition were carefully curated up build a 360 experience in you by the time you were finished. My family and I also had the honour of visiting the private book collection and not yet shown pieces, so that was a cherry on top! Parking is spacious, the bathroom facilities are enough, there's two different restaurant/cafes on the grounds plus a mobile coffee cart so lots of options for food if necessary. The grounds it sits on, is also beautiful sp lots of people took walks around before leaving.

We've done similar attractions that were nicer like the one in Montreal and The Eye in London. Felt more professional. This felt a bit like a carnival ride. Nice enough, love that the pods are air conditioned but they could use a cleaning. Othe people may enjoy this event more than we did. Wasn't awful, wast great. The surrounding area is also a bit jersey shore to me. Just not our thing.

Sporting complex with nice skating rink with 400M oval and smaller rink in the centre. Not too busy most of the times and flexible opening hours during the evening. Reasonable pricing. Not very cosy ambiance though.

Indoor skiing and snowboarding, the elevator is almost always incredibly full and waiting to get to the top including the lane is around 5-10 minutes, going down is 25 seconds. Because of the amount of people en kids, the ramps are regularly closed which makes the experience less fun. If you are a beginner its a perfect place to start skiing or snowboarding, you get the help you need, but as soon as you start to ger advanced this place can become a headache.
Dymon O — Google review
Facility ratings are excluded from this review. Five stars were given for snowboarding lessons with Snowboard Instructor - Jan. From the very first moment, I felt at ease due to his friendly and patient approach. His passion for snowboarding was infectious, and he managed to teach me the correct body posture while snowboarding, regular/switch turns, basic carving technique, snowboarding straight down the hill in icy conditions, 180 Backside/Frontside, shifties, gaining speed, and feeling confident about it, hitting jumps on a kicker with the right body position (which is, by the way, really intimidating for a beginner), ollies/nollies, 50/50 grinds. This is all he taught me in 1.5 weeks of training, which is incredible for a beginner! Additionally, he offered advice on the most suitable gear for me, as it is really difficult to do it on your own - there are so many different brands and snowboards on the market! I needed an instructor who would push me mentally to my limits and motivate me when I felt like I couldn't go any further without injuring myself. I am so happy that he could see that in me and adjust his teaching strategy based on my level of perception. Today I can definitely say that I am an advanced snowboarder now, thanks to Jan for his individually tailored approach and the skills he taught me in such a short time!

Update:We had so much fun skating last time that we decided to try again so we went Sunday morning around 10.00. Bad idea as it was super crowded which totally ruined t he experience! Be sure to check the expected attendance before you go... We went there for an active birthday meaning activities and some food. Though I cannot recommend the latter as the kids had a present menu exclusively comprised of fried foods topped up with ... fries, skating was a lot of fun and so was the karting experience.
Andreas F — Google review
The youth climbing course is definitely worth taking. That is a 4 weeks course with a certificate at the end (if the kids tick all the boxes that they need). The parents can wait in the cafe/waiting area while the kids are climbing. That is a nice open area with a view on the climbing walls. The chairs could use a make over as they are a bit uncomfortable, but overall a nice place to be.

Noteworthy and beautiful protestant church! We went on a private group tour and it did not dissapoint! The insode workings is amazing as well as the mechanisms that controls the bells! We visited Grote Kerk on a whim and we're glad we did. No wait times and no issues getting tickets. The church was interesting to see. It was obvious there was a large event the day before as the floor was wet and sticky and there were empty plastic cups. The tower tour was great! Our guide, Rudolph, was very knowledgable and kind. Be ready to walk up (and back down!) 300 narrow steps! Very cool views once you get to the top.

A culturally and historically beautiful venue to attend the Expat trade show last weekend. Very high ceilings and plenty of open spaces that facilitated the booths aswell as seminars. A well organized and timely information to help expats gain valuable insights. I was particularly intrigued by a seminar on tenants rights against landlords in Netherlands. Well worth the Saturday to walk around and meet various service providers - extend networks under one roof

The Museum of Literature, also known as the Children's Book Museum, is an interactive and engaging space designed to foster a love for reading in young children. It offers various language-based activities and reading corners where kids can immerse themselves in the world of iconic characters from children's literature. The museum provides an opportunity for children to explore imaginary worlds and embark on adventures inspired by their favorite stories.
Came here with my 13m old and she LOVED it! It’s rare to have a museum where toddlers can freely walk about, but the entire top floor was suitable for her to do this, and she had such fun wandering from room to room and playing with anything interactive. I’m looking forward to coming here again with her when she’s older and can appreciate the 6y+ floor. The cafe is lovely, friendly staff at reception/gift shop, and the graphics/art work and displays are enchanting.

Easy to get to from Centraal. Had the impression that the museum is targeted at toddlers and smaller kids but decided to visit anyway. The basement is targeted at older kids with many interactive activities that earn them add ons to the character they build. They are decent difficulty levels and there is a little waiting for other kids but nothing inconvenient. Loads of writings and quotes as they work through the various activities. Its a decent amount of activity and reading. We did two hours and were not fully done. Kids got hungry and cafe had run out of sandwiches so we left. This was around 2.45pm. This was a little disappointing. The staff at the cafe are lovely though. You get a card on your way out as a souvenir. There is a gift shop mostly in dutch.

My 11 month old and newly 5 year old had a great time playing together. It’s so nice to find somewhere they can both enjoy! Especially that there are no shoes allowed on the younger children’s floor, so it is ok for little ones to crawl around. It was clean and had plenty of toilets and easily accessible with a stroller.

The Kinderboekenmuseum in Den Haag is a calm, welcoming spot where children can really lose themselves in stories. It’s designed with little ones in mind — cozy reading corners, a storytelling nook, and a range of hands-on, tactile exhibits that invite playful exploration without overwhelming. The layout makes it easy for parents to keep an eye on kids, and the staff are warm and attentive, creating a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere ideal for a slow morning or gentle afternoon outing. They also offer storytelling sessions and workshops that add extra charm. In addition to the book-focused areas, the museum has a dedicated arts-and-crafts room for creative projects and a cafeteria where families can take a break and enjoy a snack or drink. Overall, it’s a soothing, imaginative place that encourages curiosity, reading, and creative play for toddlers through early elementary ages.

Royal Delft is a renowned 17th-century earthenware factory that offers guided tours and houses a museum. It is the hub for creating the iconic blue and white patterns on pottery, which are popular throughout the Netherlands. Visitors can witness potters crafting these patterns by hand or using screen printing techniques. The museum showcases some of the oldest examples of Royal Delft pottery and provides insights into its history and Dutch design tradition.
This is a very nice museum to learn the art and history of blue pottery in Netherlands. This takes you back to time when it started and how it evolved. There are variety of master pieces of tiles, pots, decors and many more. There is small factory as well. You can also see the artists live handpainting and explaining the process. If you want to join a workshop then book your ticket in advance. Very nice small museum filled with rich history.

The Royal Delft museum is a really nice place for a short day-time program if you're visiting Delft. There is an exhibition from the techniques used in the process to modern art pieces. The building has a beautiful garden in the middle, which was unfortunately closed. We spent about an hour in the museum. They also have a sizable gift shop, where you can place orders or buy already-made pieces. They currently sell really beautiful christmas ornaments for 20-25€.

Visited *Royal Delft* as part of a tour group, and it was an incredible experience! The demo showcasing their iconic hand-painted ceramic work was absolutely awesome—mind-boggling to see the skill and precision that goes into each piece. The artistry behind their famous blue-and-white Delftware is truly remarkable. The tour was engaging, and the museum beautifully highlights the history and craftsmanship. A must-visit for anyone near Delft! Highly recommend!

The museum and factory tour really gives you a sense of how much skill and craftsmanship goes into everything they make and gives you a sense for the scale of their history. Well with spending an hour or two doing this and purchasing gifts and souviniers. Dress in layers it's actually not that warm but warm enough that you will not be happy in a sweater!

If you’re into pottery, tableware, or anything to do with fine china, Royal Delft is an absolute must! The museum has such a rich and fascinating history, and it’s the perfect size to explore without feeling like you’re in a marathon. You’ll learn all about how their iconic Delft pottery is made, and it’s honestly so cool to see it all come to life. Before visiting, I bought both the museum ticket and their high tea package in advance on their website — super easy and totally worth it. The bonus? On our way there (we took the tram from Den Haag), we accidentally stumbled upon the actual spot that inspired Vermeer’s “View of Delft.” There’s even a replica of the painting right there so you can compare it to the real view Vermeer saw back in the day. How amazing is that?? Such a serendipidous find that made our Delft experience even better. 💙 By the time we got to the museum, we were—surprise, surprise—already hungry 😂. We showed up way too early for our high tea reservation, but the staff was so kind and told us to come back in 15 minutes while they set up a table for us. Perfect excuse to “tour” the gift shop! And wow, that gift shop is dangerous for anyone with limited luggage space. They have everything — vases, Christmas ornaments, gorgeous tableware, adorable Miffy collections, and all sorts of Delft blue goodies. I wanted to buy everything. But alas, since this was near the end of our trip (and I still had a week in Amsterdam to go), I had to restrain myself. Next time, though? I’m coming back for the tulip vases. Sooooo pretty. And the Miffy figurines. And the Dutch houses. Ugh, the list goes on! Once I finished my ooh-ing and aah-ing, we headed back to the café for high tea, and our table was ready. The staff was so lovely — they explained every sweet and savory treat on our tiered tray, and the tea selection was solid. The food itself? About a 3 out of 5 if we’re grading just on taste. It’s not like a fancy hotel afternoon tea, but it was perfectly nice. Plus, the atmosphere makes up for it — there’s a beautiful garden where you can sit outside, or cozy indoor seating with big windows looking out. We chose inside (it was too chilly for us desert people ❄️). After tea, we did our self-guided tour through the museum and factory area, where you can actually watch artisans painting and crafting pottery by hand. It’s mesmerizing! I had no idea that Delftware originally took major inspiration from Chinese porcelain — especially the classic blue-and-white style. They even show side-by-side examples of early Dutch copies and the original Chinese pieces, and you can really see how the Dutch designs evolved over time into something uniquely their own. All in all, Royal Delft is 100% worth visiting. The museum is fascinating, the staff is warm and welcoming, and the café is a lovely spot to rest your feet (high tea optional, but fun if you have time). Prices were pretty reasonable too — high tea was €63 (about $73 USD) for two people, and museum tickets were €34 (around $40 USD) for two. Highly recommend — and don’t forget to save some luggage space for those Delft souvenirs! 💙

came here as part of our bus tour, we had a really friendly guide, very informative. because of our bus free time we didn’t get to see everything but what we did see was amazing, the shop was also good and did have some more affordable items such as magnets, there is also a cafe which again we unfortunately didn’t get to go in but it looked lovely, overall the place was somewhat busy and had a nice atmosphere, if we ever came to the area again we would make a longer visit.
Lauren P — Google review
“The Royal Delft Museum is beautiful, with a fascinating history behind the famous Delft Blue. The visit is very enriching and the pieces are true works of art. However, both the entrance fee and the gift shop are quite expensive. Still, I recommend it as a unique experience to discover this Dutch icon.
Biarda L — Google review
This, for me, has been the best museum experience during my trip. It's not an art museum per se, but learning about the history of porcelain (or rather faience), seeing the process, and walking through the factory and experiencing the painting phase live - it was an emotional journey. Lovely explanations of the Delft Blue ceramic making process, with plenty of examples and a walk through the factory itself. The history of the process: rich and ever-growing, always improving. I'm curious how would a similar museum feel in China or other Asian places, which have been the precursors of European ceramic traditions. All in all, if you love ceramics, make sure you visit!

The Vermeer Centrum Delft is a small museum located in the heart of Delft, dedicated to showcasing the life and artwork of Johannes Vermeer, a prominent Dutch painter from the Golden Age. Visitors can explore exhibits that provide insight into Vermeer's artistic techniques, influences, and the historical context in which he created his masterpieces. The museum offers audio tours and a light studio experience for an immersive journey through Vermeer's creations.
Small but very good museum. Vermeer’s life and artwork was explained and exhibited in this interactive museum. Lift access to all floors and the museum is accessible to wheelchair users. The information about Delft, the time when Vermeer lived, his associates and influencers were presented using a range of media. Many of the displays were interactive, using your listening device, touch screens and places stop and explore the detail of the paintings. No original art all Vermeer Veneers (pun intended)
Cate C — Google review
Definitely a highlight in my life - one of those things I am glad I did. Vermeer is definitely the master painter of light and I was very impressed. The fact that the paintings are not original does not detract anything from the marvel thereof. I found the fact that one can get a glimpse of all of his works at once, really impressive and insightful. Definitely a must-visit stop whenever you are in Delft.
Elmari K — Google review
We visited on a week day and were able to buy tickets at the museum. Cute little museum that shows copies of all of Vermeer's paintings and highlighting his techniques in mastering light and symbolism. I would say you could see everything in 2 hours
Abigail P — Google review
Very interesting Center, a lot of information on how Vermeer painted and practical explanations on his use of light. The audio guide is for free and available in many languages. They have real size reproductions of all known paintings from Vermeer, which allows you to calmly examine them and learn more about the details and the technique he used. Totally recommended if you’re visiting Delft!
Rod N — Google review
It's a pity that none of the original paintings are exhibited here. I was surprised to learn how many are in the possession of museums around the world — and it's regrettable that so few remain in the Netherlands. That said, the exhibition offers a solid overview of the artist's work. Even more impressive is the analysis of his technique, which is both insightful and educational. I would especially recommend this place to art students, as it provides a valuable perspective on his creative paint process, i. e. primarily analysis of light effects. The museum shop, however, was a bit of a letdown — quite pricey, with not much of real interest on offer.
Iva * — Google review
Definitely worth stopping by when you are in Delft. Entrance is free and they have an amazing shop with everything Vermeer. 3 stories with exhibitions of all his works (copies) with a little bit of history of Delft.
Oguz K — Google review
I was disappointed by the exhibit on the upper floor. It was a collection of A.I. slop done by René van den Berg. This "art" was badly done and sold for a high price, around 300-400€ (I can say from personal experience that each piece took 10 minutes of his time to complete). I am disappointed that an art museum would promote this low effort fad that goes against everything Vermer represents.
Óscar T — Google review
Helpful staff, excellent audio guide. Delft is trying to make the most of its Vermeer connection, which is difficult as his house has been knocked down and none of his paintings remain in the town. This is a really good exhibition to show his life in Delft and the subjects and techniques of his paintings

Museum Prinsenhof Delft, once a convent of St. Agatha, holds great historical significance as the former residence of Prince William the Silent, a key figure in the creation of the Dutch Republic. The museum showcases 17th-century arts and crafts alongside exhibits on William's role in the Spanish Revolt. The tragic event that took place here, where William was assassinated by Balthasar Gerard in 1584, is commemorated throughout the museum.
A nice museum. I went to learn about dutch history but also got to see some local art. What really made my visit special was seeing Theo Jansen's Strandbeest out in the yard - I saw it online many times and it was fascinating seeing it up close.
Tal B — Google review
Very informative museum with a ton of masterpieces from the 17th century. They were telling the story of life and death of William the silent the father of dutch nation and great ancestor of the current king. I really liked the complex personality and liberal nature of his actions. The museum has perfectly utilized all mediums available to make a great experience with very detailed explanations on pieces of propaganda and really brilliantly set the context for the story. Do recommend totally worth it 👌.

The museum Prinsenhof is a fun visit mainly for the imprints the events here have left on Dutch History. Its interesting to see a part of history come to life on the famous stairs. The exposition on the uprising are interesting with some beautiful paintings, but not very expansive. Many more stories could be told if the museum wanted. Especially if they did away with the completely random exhibition on some artist the name of whom I have already forgotten.

Wear comfortable shoes! Lots of walking & perfect photos. We loved it. It was packed on a Saturday. I'm not sure if it's much better on a weekday. Not to be missed.
Gerri D — Google review
I had a wonderful experience at the Prinsenhof Museum in Delft. What really impressed me was the flow of the exhibits. The museum takes you through the life of William of Orange, also known as William the Silent, in chronological order. I didn't know much about him before, but this museum brought his story and its impact on Dutch history to life. Learning about William's children and the broader context of the Spanish and Netherlands war was truly fascinating. The museum itself is a delight. It's very interactive, which kept me engaged the whole time – and I confess, I have a bit of a short attention span! The beautiful artwork displayed throughout the exhibits added another layer to the experience. One exhibit that particularly surprised me was the one dedicated to Delft Blue pottery. I never knew about the history of these iconic blue vases and their connection to the Netherlands. It was fascinating to learn about their production and significance. Overall, I highly recommend the Prinsenhof Museum to anyone interested in Dutch history, particularly the life of William of Orange and the Spanish and Netherlands war. The museum is well-organized, informative, and engaging, making it a great experience for all.
Nicole O — Google review
Great place to learn about the local history in a very vivid way that makes you travel back in time, but also to admire, apart from the wonderful paintings, a few very good pieces of the characteristic blue and white pottery in the place their art was born. There is also the option you create your own digital pottery and get it with you in your email. I would totally recommend it if you are visit Delft.
Anthi P — Google review
Perfect place to learn more about William the Orange/ the Silent and famous painter Vermeer. Finding the entrance of the Museum is a bit tricky as it has almost like a side entrance. Signs are everywhere, so you will not get lost. Airy room once you get in. You will find your way in and greeted by the staff who is handling the audio guide. Coffee shop is available in the premises. Boutique is at site. The entire building is big, so follow the map with matching # on each door of the room, so you won’t miss any of the exhibition. Mind your head on the doorway. Washrooms are available in between the visit. I love how they present the audio against the art, so as the story telling. It was really a lovely visit.

This enchanting garden, which opens for just a few weeks each year to preserve its exquisite nature, showcases a curated collection of rare plants, Buddha statues, stone lanterns, and charming bridges over lotus-filled ponds.
A very small but beautiful Japanese garden. I went on a Wednesday and it wasn’t too crowded. Not worth a long trip on its own, but perfect for a relaxed half-day activity. There is also a nice cafe in the park for a coffee break after

Takes max to max 10 mins to explore this park. Centrally located in amazing Landgoed Clingendael. Park is small and cute, very colourful, and nice to taking pictures, instragramable location 😀 Free to visit, and very well maintained! It's next to a café, can't do picnic inside this garden, but outside there is lot of nice green grass patches... This park might not be suitable for people with mobility issues.

Was here in the end of October. Absolutely loved it. After a rainy but a nice walk in the park I arrived in the Japanise Garden. It's a little garden that is Japanese themed. I explored it in about 20 minutes, but it was lovely. I believe that in warmer weather this place is even more appealing. If you like parks, gardens and nature I recommend you check this place out. By the way the entrance is completely free.

A small garden, really small, set in a beautiful environment. I visited in October, and it was lovely: large variety of trees and plants, fallen leaves, mushrooms, and I even spotted a squirrel (I hadn’t seen one in ages, everyone was surprised!). Definitely worth a visit.

Good and well kept garden with a varierty of Japanese flora. It seemed a bit small for my taste, but you could easily spend some hours there. There is a small place to sit and relax and a few beautiful bridges. They keep adding things to the garden.

The Hague's Historic Museum, also known as the Kunstmuseum Den Haag, is a captivating destination that delves into the rich history of The Hague. Housed in a grand building near Government compounds, it showcases an extensive collection of artifacts, portraits, cityscapes, and temporary exhibitions that bring the city's stories to life.
The Hague's History Museum is in a monumental building near the Government compounds. Centuries ago it was the Association House of the City Guards of The Hague. There was an exposition about Government Power and civil rights struggles against powerabuse in Holland. There was also a fun exhibition on The Hague hairstyles over four centuries. In the attic there were old, beautiful doll's houses. One strongly reminded me of a Vermeer painting I recently had the privilege to see in Amsterdam.
Henk P — Google review
I visited the Haags Historisch Museum on a Sunday afternoon, expecting a quiet and intimate experience. While the museum's location near the Binnenhof and its compact size were definite pluses, the staff's friendliness fell short of my expectations. However, the exhibition ‘Haagse Harry by Marnix Rueb', was wonderful, with a nice art setup that engaged kids. Overall, a nice, small museum with a rich history of The Hague, but room for improvement in terms of staff hospitality.

Great place to see if you are interested in learning more about Den Haag and it's rich history. There was no audio guide and the further you go there are less english interactive features and descriptions. We visited the Hague's Historic Museum in a cold, gray, rainy day. I was actually not expecting anything from this place. I was wrong. Of course, it is not the Hermitage or Van Gogh Museum but it is not boring and gives you an idea of The Hague history. An idea. But if you are with children or adolescent it is perfect. The building where you find the Museum it is nice and interesting to visit. Well, go for it

It isn't a large museum and 10 euros is a decent price, but its history definitely is a learning experience.

Nestled in the heart of The Hague, the Prince William V Gallery is a delightful gem that art enthusiasts should not miss. Established in 1774, it proudly holds the title of being the first public museum in the Netherlands. This charming gallery showcases an impressive collection once owned by Willem V, Prince of Orange, featuring masterpieces from renowned artists like Rembrandt and Peter Paul Rubens.
Not very crowded, which makes for a really pleasant visit. Entrance is free if you first go to the Mauritshuis and keep your ticket. They even have some Rubens and Vermeer paintings here :) In our opinion, it’s actually nicer than the main museum – quieter, less distracting, and a better space to just enjoy the art.
Liv B — Google review
A hall overflowing with paintings, both mesmerising and somewhat overwhelming. The amount of artworks crammed together makes it difficult to concentrate one’s attention on a single piece. The positive thing is that there is a booklet describing each painting which helps the admirers navigate through the lot.
Boryana M — Google review
A terrific small gallery adjacent to the prison gate museum. It has only one hall so you can either glance into the paintings in less than half an hour, or you can dive deep into the eyes and faces and small details of whatever is in the splendid paintings for more than two hours. Must see especially if you are in the area.
Salah A — Google review
This can be easy to miss as it's a couple of blocks from the Mauritshuis, but don't overlook it. There are lots of great Dutch paintings, however they're displayed in the old style, hung in multiple layers up to the ceiling. This plus the poor lighting mean that you will find it difficult to appreciate lots of the works, but the gallery is still worth visiting for the fine works on display.

The TU Delft botanical garden is something different from what I’m used to, it’s not there to show the most exotic plants and be the most beautiful, but instead, as it’s a technical university, it’s meant to share the different plants and their use in different technologies which is very interesting! It’s a nice stroll, not very big, with some genuinely nice places to sit and be calm, I wish it was a bit more informative in an easy way to learn.

Walking through the Hortus Botanicus Delft felt like stepping into a living museum of plants. I wandered among themed sections—from medicinal herbs to exotic species—each carefully curated to reflect centuries of botanical study. Beyond its educational value, the garden is also a peaceful retreat, perfect for slow exploration and quiet reflection. My visit left me inspired by how thoughtfully the garden balances research, conservation, and public enjoyment.

If you lower your expectations this could be a pretty cool place. I suggest bringing a picnic and finding some shade or using the gazebo to stretch your time there. We enjoyed the exhibit about the refugee housing and seeing the prototypes.

Delft Botanical Garden was founded about 100 years ago. Each plant in it has a name plate in Dutch and Latin. This will help you find it if you want to plant it in your home garden or balcony. All the trees, bushes and flowers are well-kept. There is a greenhouse for tropical plants, including insectivorous ones, as well as a separate greenhouse for cacti. The territory of the Delft Botanical Garden is small. You will take your time to explore it in an hour and a half. Now inside, there is also a temporary exhibition on how the plants were used to produce dyes and cloth. Detailed explanations in English and Dutch. There is a coffee point on the territory of the garden. And near the entrance to the garden there is a cash desk and a shop where you can buy themed souvenirs and even flowers. Another interesting corner is the apothecary "garden". The information plates show how these plants were used in medicine in the Middle Ages. Two metasequoias grow nearby. Definitely worth a visit.

I don’t know much about the subject but I can only assume that Avonturia sets the bar high for pet shops around the world (certainly in Europe). Although we didn’t buy any pets on our visit we had fun just observing the wide variety of animals (not all for sale). The staff seemed friendly and eager to assist. I can’t comment on the canteen food as we didn’t eat there.

It is a very nice shop and center for the kids and your fur friends. Dull shopping for the stinky dog/cat food or treat can be made double fun 🙃 To see lots of fishes, spiders, turtles (Sea and earth) flamingoes, iguanas… To go on a quest for kids, to search for the gold. Nice place to have a tosti for lunch, in my opinion I would add more to the menu as to attract more people to visit cafeteria, more fresh, green food. 🤍

The place is lovely, it’s not your common pet shop, they have almost a mini zoo inside 🩷 cute bunnies, guinea pigs, rats and cool reptiles and even spiders! They also have EVERYTHING for any pet. Loved it 🩷 The cafe inside is great too, desserts are specially nice 😁

De Pier Pannenkoeken is a delightful destination for pancake lovers, offering an impressive variety of options that cater to all tastes. From classic sweet pancakes dusted with powdered sugar to savory choices packed with vegetables or cheese and ham, there's something for everyone. Notably, gluten-free pancakes are available as a standard option, ensuring inclusivity for those with dietary restrictions. The restaurant takes care in preparing these pancakes separately to avoid cross-contamination.
Very kind and helpful staff. Great and tasty pancakes - it is really big. Highly recommended strawberry daiquiri - one of the most tasted I had.

We entered the restaurant with children, very hungry. We sat down, but no waiters approached us. I went to ask where to get a menu, and they just pointed to where it was without any explanation. We spent about 10 minutes there, staying hungry the whole time. I started looking at the menu and chose pancakes, but then I noticed a small note saying that orders are only taken until 5 PM. I checked the time – it was exactly 17:00. I went to the bar, but they said they were no longer accepting orders. Nowhere at the entrance was it mentioned that after 5 PM they stop taking orders, and the staff didn’t inform us either. When I asked for the menu, they could have at least warned us. We wasted about 10 minutes of our time, stayed hungry, and experienced very poor service. The staff clearly did not fulfill their responsibilities. Very disappointing experience.

I made a reservation with a window table days before. I got confirmation. When I arrived a very unfriendly rude unprofessional waitress said yeah just go find a seat. None of the tables by the window were free. The seats were broken, I had to fix myself and the smell in that restaurant was like a fresh lemon smell from the toilets. The toilet doors were broken as well and they left the toilet door open many times….no wonder the smell. But also good news. At least one waitress was very nice and the food was delicious. Hope the Manager reads this post and talks to the tanned waitress with the dark shoulder long hair and fixes the smell in the restaurant.

It wasn’t outright bad. But between staff (mostly unhappy-looking young girls) that was super busy chit chatting and hiding behind the counter with their backs towards guests and cold, bland burger it was a visit to forget. Did I mention that young girls are REALLY good at letting “dear paying guests” know that they are so annoying and needy? Ok, I did now. Ah, the sea view? Passable at best. There’s very little of the interesting beach view on one side and a lot of open sea view, that is kinda everywhere anyway, duh.

Nice place to go for lunch or dinner or just a drink! We went for my mother's birthday with some family. We had pancakes, it was very nice. The view is great! And the location is fun. It's quite cheap. I can definitely recommend going here.

Gluten-free pancakes! But ask which ones. They were very thick, like half a centimeter. I don't know this that's a typical Dutch pancake or not. Seemed a bit much to me but what do I know. My partner and I each ordered one and agreed we could have ordered one to share as a light meal. The view is great. Even on a cold and miserable day. There were still crazies out there kite surfing.

Indoor playground
LEGOLAND® Discovery Centre Scheveningen is a vibrant hub of creativity and fun for the whole family. Located on the promenade near SEA LIFE, this center offers interactive games, models, and activities all centered around LEGO bricks. From the Fantasy Express to building with LEGO Friends and NINJAGO Training Zone, there's something for everyone. The 4D cinema adds an extra dimension to the experience.
Went here with my little sister, she enjoyed the activities and workshops! We went during Halloween season, so there was lots of spooky vibes and the experience finished with receiving a Lego witch potion. She absolutely enjoyed it. Pretty clean for a kid's play area, she got to build very comfortably. I personally enjoyed the Miniland, it was almost like a Lego Madurodam.
Simone G — Google review
*Fun for kids with building and other activities.* Unfortunately, there were hardly any LEGO figures at the building stations (likely taken home by visitors). There were also a few interactive models that are supposed to move when you press a button — but they didn’t work. Considering the very high entrance price (€23 from age 2) you’d expect things to function properly and the toilets to be clean. You can get tickets via AH supermarket. Second ticket free.
Tombong D — Google review
We visited out of season, which meant plenty of access to all the exhibits and play areas. The kids really enjoyed themselves, and we found that about 2.5 hours was the right amount of time for our visit. It’s definitely best suited for younger children (under 10), but even if your kids are a bit older and don’t mind the younger theme, there’s still fun to be had. Honestly, I can’t think of anything negative to say as it was exactly what we expected, and we weren’t disappointed.
Teunis S — Google review
Disclosure, I got my tickets half price! I went there with my nephew of 7 years old. The first thing stated at Legoland is that at busy days there is a 2 hour limit visit. If you pay full price, you need to consider this. The whole facility is underground so you take an elevator down. When we left, the elevator was broken. So people with stollers and mobility impairment had to wait till it was fixed. There was a stairs to take to exit. So Legoland is about building and you have tables of different themes like Ninjago and Dubro. Yes , it is fun to build but there mostly bricks to use. For the car race you need wheels and those bricks with holes in it... Those were rare, so you had to wait till the kids weren't interested in their creations to make your own. Even my nephew noticed at the Ninjago station that he couldn't make figurines or robots. I understand that those pieces are worth alot and there can be a tendency of stealing them as there is no oversight in putting them in pockets but if you can only make brick houses, it doesn't really grab the attention. My nephew did like the Ninjago laser game. That was the most fun he had besides the car making (when he had the wheel pieces) and the minimal 4d movie experience. You have a workshop on Lego building, Lego built Scheveningen, a cafe and a cart ride with magic wands to shoot at projectors. The cart ride is for kids above 130 cm. So young kids can't even enjoy it. Because my Nephew liked the Laser Game the most, I won't be coming back as I think a facility like Monkey Town is more interesting for him.
Robin I — Google review
It is a great place for kids. All ages, but mainly the little ones. Starting at 3 up until 12? Depending on your daughter or son interest in Legos 😊

We loved it with our 4,5 year old son! Conveniently situated near the parking right on the beach! We spent there hours playing and building with lego, went to the lego cinema and watched a 4d LEGO movie, our son was impressed, as it was his first time! Staff is super friendly and nice! There is a lego train and great masterclasses for children and parents. It was great fun for all our family. We finished our day on the sunny pier right next to the LEGO land! Very happy!
Наталия С — Google review
Good spot for a couple of hours, lots to do for a 6 year old. The 4D cinema was fun but could do with some subtitles for English customers.
Bryan C — Google review
Legoland at Schevinegan Beach is a great proposition for young children, especially in the age group of 4 to 10. The staff is courteous for the most part and take care of your experience. Some of the older staff members can be curt, but you just gotta learn to work around them. Even though English is not the primary language, you could always ask for instructions in English. (like in the Lego workshop.). The 4D movie also is a great experience for young ones. I only wish they would give you a memento of your visit! Something to remember Legoland. However, that is not the case over here as everything comes with the price tag. Barring that it is a great experience.

This inner-city oasis features walking trails, hilly terrain, and sculptural monuments. It serves as an unofficial boundary between the city center and Scheveningen. Visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls through well-maintained paths and take in the serene atmosphere of the park.
Another hidden gem not far from the city! Loads of trails and a nice cafe to stop for a coffee and yes moist and delicious carrot cake which sometimes shows up on the menu at John & June’s cafe!😋😋 PS - the park is a Popular spot for dog walks! One of my close friends fell down your stairs last week. Not the first time this happened , is it? Would you like to see pictures from the hospital? What is your action? Also towards her?
Margriet L — Google review
I attended the Evgeny Kissin piano recital yesterday, the performance itself was incredible, no complaints there. However, my experience at the venue was ruined by the behaviour of a fellow audience member and the staff’s response. I briefly checked my phone (low brightness, sound off) to reply to a message. The elderly woman next to me physically pushed my phone away, not once, but twice. During the intermission, she began shouting at me, calling me “not normal” and claiming I distracted her, despite barely using my phone. I told the woman not to be rude and reminded her that she was the one who crossed the line by invading my personal space and touching me without my consent, twice. She had nothing to say in response, probably expecting me to apologize, but instead of diffusing the situation, her husband jumped in and told my mother, who was sitting next to me, to “educate me,” then acted shocked when I told him I was an adult. As we returned to our seats after the break, a staff member from Amare, who was also an elderly woman, approached me and condescendingly asked, “Do you understand me?” before lecturing me about phone use, clearly tipped off by this couple. I pointed out that multiple people were openly filming the concert, even with flash, yet I was singled out for a private message sent discreetly. I left feeling disrespected because of the unfair treatment. It felt like staff blindly sided with an aggressive elderly couple simply because of their age. If you’re a younger person attending a performance here, be careful who you sit next to, and don’t expect support if you’re harassed by old people. Great concert, but terrible handling of audience interactions. One star for the experience.
Teodora A — Google review
Finally I visited Amare for NDT! The space is very welcoming for the public and has a pluridisciplinary program. And it's only a few minutes' walk from the train station, very practical! There's a Mercure hotel next to it, as well as an animated shopping district and the Chinatown. I will definitely come back!

Filmhuis Den Haag is a popular destination for watching films and documentaries. They offer a 20-film discount card priced at 80 euros, which is a great deal compared to the regular adult ticket price of 10.50 euros per film. The screening rooms consist of six or seven rows and there are five theaters in total. On the ground floor, there is a cafe available for visitors to enjoy.
I adore everything about this place. Great variety of movies, affordable and great staff. I also enjoy the cafeteria with its light meals, nice drinks and very cozy atmosphere.
Alda R — Google review
The Filmhuis in The Hague is a beautiful and well-maintained cinema — the atmosphere is calm, the location is central, and the venue itself has a lot of character. Unfortunately, the movie selection so far in 2025 has been a major disappointment. Very few films this year have truly felt worth going to see. Even when iconic director David Lynch passed away, Filmhuis only featured his work for a very brief time. In contrast, Kino in Rotterdam continued screening his films for weeks — nearly until now. It’s that kind of programming depth and respect for cinema that Filmhuis currently lacks. What I miss most is diversity — not only in genres, but in the type of films and voices being shown. Filmhuis increasingly feels like it caters to a small group of older, local regulars with very specific tastes. Meanwhile, places like Kino in Rotterdam offered a much broader and more inclusive range of films. When I lived there, I was at Kino two or three times a week without ever running out of interesting choices. I'm really hoping this is just a temporary slump, and that Filmhuis will soon broaden its horizon. But as it stands now, I'm seriously considering giving up my Cineville card and just watching films at home. Cinema is supposed to be an experience — not just in the setting, but in the stories being told. Right now, Filmhuis is missing that spark.
Migle D — Google review
I like the vibes of this place. besides the screenings always going smoothly, I also really like just sitting around talking with people and friends in Filmhuis cafe. Big recommend for students on Wednesdays as the tickets are 5€.
Obamas P — Google review

Serhat E — Google review
What I like about filmhuis is the diversity in their offering. The counterpart to this is the break in the middle of the movie and relatively limited choice in times when movies can be played. I guess it's a trade-off and you've got to prioritise. Love their hot-cocoa 😊☕
Hiliana F — Google review

I primarily sat in the dining and café area but it is also a movie house where you can get wine and many edible accoutrements. It has Wi-Fi and a very nice romantic setting in the evening as well. Definitely a signature of the aesthetics found in many cafés and interior buildings in the Hague. Relatively chic.

Strand Kijkduin is a long, wide sandy beach very close to The Hague, perfect for a relaxed day by the sea. On sunny days it gets busy, but there’s still lots of space to enjoy the sand and water. It’s a fun place to meet friends, go for a walk, or just unwind. The many restaurants and cafés along the promenade add to the atmosphere and make it easy to spend a whole day here.
G W — Google review
A Serene Oasis with a Few Surprises! Strand Kijkduin is an absolute treasure along the Netherlands' coastline. It offered a unique and refreshing experience that exceeded my expectations in many ways. The spaciousness of this beach, combined with low crowd density, creates an atmosphere of pure serenity. If you're seeking peace and tranquility, you'll find it here. One standout feature of Strand Kijkduin is the abundance of restaurants and bars that line the shore. Whether you're craving Dutch delights or international cuisine, there's something to please every palate. The quality of the food is impressive, and dining with a view of the sea is an unforgettable experience. I must admit that, as a Mediterranean person, I had different expectations for the sea. While it might not have the vibrant blue waters I'm used to, it still provides a pleasant and refreshing dip on a warm day. The availability of a nearby supermarket is a huge convenience. It's perfect for stocking up on essentials and snacks without the need to venture far from the beach. Now, let's talk about those sunbeds and umbrellas. While they do come with a price tag (10 euros for sunbeds and 7 euros for umbrellas), the comfort and shade they offer are well worth it. It's a small indulgence that enhances the overall beach experience. One small caveat is the parking situation. While there is a free car parking spot nearby, finding an empty space can be a bit of a challenge. Be prepared for a hunt or consider alternative transportation options. In conclusion, Strand Kijkduin is a hidden gem that I highly recommend. It offers tranquility, fantastic dining options, and the convenience of a nearby supermarket. Despite my initial reservations about the sea, the overall experience deserves a solid five out of five stars. It's a beach that has something for everyone to enjoy!

This beach is much better than the one directly west of The Hague—definitely worth the extra drive. Free parking was a big plus, too. Van Kleef Distillery Museum, founded in 1842, is a unique and well-known spot in The Hague. It's the last jenever producer in the city and offers free visits with tastings of their local spirits. The distillery produces various types of jenever, including limited editions like the aged Old Chap. As part museum, liquor shop, and tasting center, it provides tours to showcase its distilling equipment and traditional craftsmanship.
The cocktail tastings are a definite must do here. You can experience it in both English or Dutch. 5 cocktails and many good times complete with snacks and good banter. The tasting is done out in a garden that makes you feel like you're not in the middle of a busy city. The people working there love their jobs and were super helpful in helping us with which liqueurs to try and to possibly take home. Take your mum here. She will definitely have a great day out.

This was an unexpected gem for our day trip to The Hague, we were expecting a museum but found a delightful bar in an authentic setting. The staff are incredibly helpful (and funny), the food is very good but the star of the experience is the drinks. We indulged in several flights and fully expect to be back soon. If you're coming to the city center you must come and enjoy this place. We went back again this year and the experience was as equally enjoyable as the first, except we were able to sit outside this time in the garden and it was an even more delightful experience.
Michael P — Google review
A lovely former brewery that still bottles jenever. The facility has an amazing garden! The host do an amazing story about the history of Jenever, the difference between old and new Jenever, the difference between jenever and gin and why it isn't allowed to brew in the city...

What an absolutely fantastic experience. We had booked a tasting session—just a nice little visit to The Hague to knock back some liqueurs and have a cozy chat. It was supposed to last about two hours. But, thanks to our delightful hostess Fleur, we stumbled out four and a half hours later, slightly tipsy and definitely more enlightened. If you ever find yourself in The Hague, this is an absolute must-do. Just visit vankleef.eu—you’ll thank me when you sober up.

A huge part of what makes this place special are the people that work here, from the kitchen staff to the bar, everyone is wonderful! They were more than accommodating, and made us feel welcomed and included with the tasting experience even though we naively walked-in last minute without reservations (reservations ARE required for the guided tasting/tour, which we learned after the fact). The staff were nice and allowed us to join mid-tasting in our very spontaneous visit, which turned into one of my favorite tasting experiences…ever. The bar bites are delicious and pair well with the liqueur. Make sure to get the spicy pepper concoction! Note to self: make reservations to get the full tour next time!

recently visited den haag 🏖️ , and it was absolutely breathtaking! The pristine white sand, crystal-clear waters, and serene atmosphere make it the perfect getaway. Whether you’re looking to relax under the sun, take a refreshing dip, or enjoy a peaceful walk along the shore, this beach has it all. The views, especially at sunset, are nothing short of magical. The area is also well-maintained, with clean facilities and plenty of spots to set up for the day. I highly recommend [Beach Name] to anyone looking for a tranquil and unforgettable beach experience. Can’t wait to return!

A really nice place for a long walk and nice setting to sit and watch the sun set and boats moving around. A very quiet cove which is conducive to swimming.

Monster Beach is a lovely and spacious beach located a bit far from the city, making it less crowded than other beaches in the area. It offers kilometers of beautiful sandy coastline, perfect for walking, jogging, or simply relaxing. The beach features some beach clubs and free parking options. Additionally, visitors can enjoy cycling routes along the coast and find great hiking trails with beautiful views in the surrounding dunes.
A beautiful and very wide beach with multiple large sand dunes and cycling paths in front of it. There are at least two different restaurants where you can get food when you are hungry. There are 4x small public bathrooms. When the tide is low you can walk very far out into the ocean! Very nice 10/10

I live about 16 minutes away from Monster Beach, and it truly feels like my own little escape by the sea. It’s the perfect place to take a break from the daily rush and just breathe. The beach is always clean and well-maintained. In summer, there’s a relaxed and welcoming vibe, with just the right number of beach cafés to grab a great coffee, enjoy lunch, or sip on something refreshing after a walk along the shore. My favorite time of day? Sunset. It’s absolutely magical here. I often bring my camera to capture the view—no two sunsets are ever the same, and each one feels special. Parking is conveniently close, which is great for spontaneous visits. Paid parking applies in summer, but it’s totally worth it. You’ll also find restrooms and outdoor showers, making it an easy and comfortable spot for a beach day.

Beautiful, wide beach, not so crowded. Indistrial view to one side / Sheveningen pier on the other. Great with kids lovely for adults - easy to reach by bicycle 😀

Monster Beach is a peaceful and scenic spot to enjoy the Dutch coastline. The sand is clean, the water is nice for a swim, and the surroundings are well-maintained. It’s perfect for a relaxing day out, a picnic, or a walk along the shore. There are a few cafés and beach facilities nearby, though it can get a bit busy during sunny weekends. Overall, it’s a charming beach that’s worth a visit if you’re in the area.

Still a striking architectural design, nicely reflecting the coldness and facelessness of any bureaucracy. Regularly some exhibit in the Atrium. Public building so free entry. Give it a visit if from out of town.

21-09-2024 Today I visited this place. I was wearing summer clothes and the staff did not allow me to enter. They are not nice. You have to respect people. The place is next to the sea. What do you think people wear? Respect people. Las Vegas is more advanced than you. In terms of treating guests, I do not advise anyone. The arrival of tourists is not welcome.

This is the nicest casino, I have ever been to. Good vibe, quite busy on weeekends. Deducted a star - as sometimes, I feel some dealers are bit off mood. But otherwise this one is really good.

Horrible place! Personnel is cranky and won't tolerate any critics or opinions that doesn't suit them. They complain directly by management and you get questions and need to explain why you have a different opinion. It's crazy! Don't go there! Save your money, you won't win anything there. Horrible place and even Horrible personnel. They forgot we are the customers. They don't care.

Are you in search of a small paradise for your little ones? Look no further! Kids Island The Hague is the perfect destination for you. With its delightful playhouse, excellent food, and reasonable prices, this indoor playground is an absolute must-visit. Celebrate your child's birthday here and experience sheer loveliness. Furthermore, you can visit this place frequently to entertain your children with no time restrictions.
Good place for kids' activities and Birthday party for them. Trampoline ball pit etc with various gaming machines are options. There are food and drinks options as well.
Puneet M — Google review
Not many play options compared to other indoor playgrounds. No blocks and car or bike rides etc. Much of the space occupied with chairs and machines with additional 1 or 2 eur to pay. Some machines didn’t work even when placing coins. Kids got bored after 2-3 hrs die to lack of play options. Verdict: Only for 1 time and 2-3 hrs max.
Mahesh K — Google review
At entry, The staff is not friendly. She looked so serious without even smile gave us ticket. We felt really disapointed. The play indoor is so dirty, so many dirty chewing gum on the wall and on play mat. There is not many options like Kid creative ideas. Only For jumping and climbing. Making kids even busier. Not happy Experience. Will never go again. There is lots more better like Monkey town. (Best) We came here because its near our hotel. :(

Quite a large play area for jumping and climbing. The first time I had to run and look for my child five times. But the second time was great. He himself came to me an hour and a half later. Very loud music and very noisy, especially on Wednesdays and weekends.

We had a lot of fun! And it wasnt busy at all when we went. My son even got a gift when entering and he turned on a special machine with bubbles just for him ( and it was not his birthday). My only point was that I wish there was more light. But for the rest, we had a great time !!

My daughter loves it and it is very accessible, especially from the train station. The gaming area is not so Clean you can even see the dirt and grime on it. The only thing I wish could be different is the layout of the bouncing area. It goes deep so you can't always see your child. I give batman A for effort. He was also spider man and the cleaner. Much respect goes to him. The staff is also very friendly.

Indoor playground
Peppa Pig World of Play Leidschendam is an indoor playground designed for toddlers, preschoolers, and their families. It features over 12 interactive play zones inspired by well-known themes and locations from the Peppa Pig series. The facility offers a relaxing environment for parents to work while their kids play in a well-organized space. Located in the center of a large mall, visitors can enjoy shopping and dining after their visit.
Went with our kids from Germany driving 2 hrs... But was worth it. They enjoyed it, had fun and they liked the minni pizzas also.. small picture hunt activity was enjoyed by them. Overall very good experience and plus the bonus is that the place is in a shopping mall so we enjoyed later also..
Ann B — Google review
We recently visited Peppa Pig World of Play in the Netherlands, and I have to say, it was a hit with my kids! They’re huge Peppa Pig fans, so stepping into a fully themed Peppa Pig playground was like a dream come true for them. From the moment we entered, their faces lit up with excitement. The whole place is designed to feel like you’re walking through Peppa’s world, with different areas inspired by scenes from the show. There’s so much attention to detail, from Peppa’s house to the school and even the muddy puddles area (don’t worry, no real mud!). My kids ran from one play zone to another, completely immersed in the experience. It was great to see them interact with the world they know so well from TV. Our kids loved the challenge to find the lost items of daddy pig. It’s not the cheapest playground out there, but if your children are Peppa Pig fans, it might be worth every euro. It’s a well-organized, clean, and engaging space that truly brings the Peppa universe to life. We ended up staying much longer than we expected because the kids just didn’t want to leave. I’d definitely recommend it to any Peppa-loving family!

we were in May, on Saturday. I was skeptical about this place because I saw a lot of negative comments. But when we were there my children were delighted! It was colorful, lots of attractions, clean and the employees were very nice. Children up to 4 years old will be very happy, for older ones it may be boring :) we will definitely visit this place again because the joy of my children was wonderful! I don't know what more people would want. I would possibly reduce the cost per adult. but apart from that I highly recommend this place
Irmina M — Google review
Nice place for little kids. I believe not so much fun for kids above 7-8 years old. Prior to visit, we emailed there about accessibility. It was mainly accessibility like the overall second floor with not much stairs, an elevator to that floor, etc. However, the playground does not have any place where my kid could play without any carry or help. For example, the wheelchair did not fit the play shop area checkout section.
Pinar T — Google review
Super nice place for toddlers and peppa pig fans. Very well made. Lots to do, and the place is clean and well maintained, thankfully.
Zay B — Google review
We visited today for the first time here. There was a time to meet Peppa. Watching some families before us, I noticed some took individual photos of their child and a family photo as well. So, we took a photo of our first child first, and since our second child is still very young, we wanted to take a family photo with him in our arms. I asked the staff with black curly hair who was standing there, if she could take our family one. Without a smile, her prompt answer was like, “As you can see, it’s very busy time.” As she took photo, I thanked her and left. But the comment left me feeling strangely upset. If she was going to take a photo anyway, it would have been nicer to leave us with a good memory. Even my husband who was next to me, said it felt like discrimination. Visiting from France, the main reason for our visit was our first child’s love of Peppa Pig. Sometimes a single experience like this can shape someone’s image of the country and the people. Here are some additional comments about the facilities: The small slide next to the yellow spinning slide is designed in a way that a baby can bump their head while trying to stand up after sliding down. / Some structures can be redesigned. / riding tricycles in the middle of the way doesn’t seem safely designed. / It’s difficult to find a place to sit or eat, as people save spots and seats for themselves. It’s ironic that children are required to take off their shoes, while adults walk around with theirs on. I think it would be better if everyone took off their shoes fairly, and it would be great to have lockers near the entrance for shoes and belongings. For Peppa lover child, it is a place to go once in a while. Nicely colored and decorated. / Today, the eggs were really well hidden, it was so much fun to find the six of them.
Yj B — Google review
We found it extremely dangerous. Hard, slippery floor, everything made of hard plastic, steel and wood. Within our stay 2 kids had bloody accidents . It's nice just to take pics and leave. As a museum . Also, expensive. Doesn't worth the price. On their first page of website they had lower prices ,but while booking we paid more. Not recommended.
Marina M — Google review
It is a bity pricey for what you get. Limited seating, even on a week day. The indoor playground and the theatre are the only spots which are truly interactive, the rest is mostly kids running around in a Peppa setting, so all in all it felt a bit underwhelming. Our kids are huge Peppa fans, so they had a good time, also going on a picture with Peppa in the end was great. If your kids are a bit older (6+) and/or not a Peppa fan, I would not recommend going here. The positives: Clean, friendly staff, safe and the coffee is reasonably priced.

Great place and lots of fun for kids all ages. However, we went there with our toddler and played in the toddler section (<4yry) and he got overrun by much older kids to a point where it became a real risk issue. We addressed this situation to the staff but they didn’t really care and let us know that it is not their job to watch the kids. Very disappointing!

Nice and big without being too noisy for adult ears. Much lighter than the other indoor play places because of great overhead lighting. Good assortment of food. It's great!
