An amazing museum with excellent interpretation about the work lives, technological advancement and impact on Welsh culture and identity. And it’s free to visit. A beautiful view from the balcony too.

One of the best museums to visit. They have very good preservation of many artifacts. Words are not enough to describe the historical heritage this museum holds. It's a must visit museum. Thanks a lot National Waterfront Museum 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Vishal Q — Google review
A wonderful museum. It's free to enter and packed with many great exhibits. Make sure you come by here if you're in Swansea! The interior of the museum was beautiful and spacious, it wasn't busy at all which is great if you like less hustle and bustle like myself.
Harvey — Google review
An eye-opener to the vast industrial history of Wales. Visited near to almost closing hours but the crew was so understanding and welcoming. Beautiful exhibits. Also the space around the museum is treat to the eyes, especially during sunsets(and sunrises if you're an early riser.)

Wonderful Tigers & Dragons exhibition, detailing Clive of India's role with the East Indian Trading Company. Beautiful needlework in the Dragon & Sunshades. Well worth a visit.
Sue B — Google review
A wonderful art gallery. The highlight was the Tigers &Dragons India and Wales in Britain exhibition, but there are many wonderful exhibits in the permanent collection.
Colin H — Google review
What a great little gallery. It'd tucked away at the top of Swansea centre, but we'll worth seeking out.
Andy S — Google review
The Glynn Vivian Art Gallery is a true gem in the heart of Swansea. It's a cultural haven that offers a diverse range of artistic experiences. The gallery's building is a work of art in itself, and it beautifully complements the ever-changing exhibitions within. A really excellent art gallery. Amazing show on when I was there. I could have spent ages in there. Nice loos as well. Always a bonus.
David C — Google review
Having walked there and intending to have coffee, then a walk around followed by lunch.. the cafe was closed. The local art and ceramics was good, but some of the exhibitions didn't live up to expectations. I wanted to see the textile one.. we'll it was just one model and a book !!

The Gallery is an inspiring free art space for everyone and provides a place for historical, modern and contemporary art exhibitions, talks, activities, performance and events in the heart of Swansea’s bustling artistic quarter. The gallery has a wonderful collection of artworks and ceramics, as well as works on paper, which form an important part of the city’s “cultural memory”. These artworks are displayed as permanent collections.

Swansea Museum, the oldest museum in Wales, offers a journey through the rich history of Swansea. From prehistoric times to modern eras, the museum showcases artifacts such as an Egyptian mummy and a Welsh kitchen. Visitors can explore themed exhibits on local maritime and transport history, including the Mumbles Railway opening in 1807.
Fantastic museum rich with history. The building alone is fantastic. Plenty of signage so the layout was easy to follow. I do wish the shop stocked more goods and memorabilia though. Would definitely visit again and recommend to anyone that enjoys history.
Sian L — Google review
The mummy of Hor is marvellous (5 Stars). The story of Edgar Evans is interesting, and I enjoyed reading more information online. (4) The museum is very small with interesting art components to enjoy because not enough space between them. (3) It Is Time to Redesign the layout of the museum.
Cla S — Google review
We went there with my partner, on the 26th july, and it was great ! It's not big. But its well made, we liked the mummy room and the reconstitution of the house with the grandma inside it. Also the animals room had some very interesting things about evolution, extinction, and about protecting animals. People were very nice too !
Alex G — Google review
Located in the heart of Swansea, the museum features a diverse collection ranging from maritime artifacts to local art and archaeology. The exhibits are well-curated, providing insightful context and engaging displays that cater to visitors of all ages. The museum also features an intriguing display of a genuine Egyptian mummy, which is quite interesting. The mummy is accompanied by informative panels that detail its history, including the context of its discovery and the rituals associated with mummification. The admission is totally free and was not crowded even if it was a Saturday. It's definitely a goos place to spend few hours and gather some knowledge.
Kothmini S — Google review
I love that UK has free museums. We visited Swansea with a coach group. Schedule conflict meant we had to visit Swansea city centre in morning.. only Swansea museum was open. We.did not get the time to explore all the little activities they have for kids. We learnt of the history of Swansea and how WW2 damaged it's buildings but not its spirit. We learnt how the mummy was conserved and the significance of its motifs. It has some nice paintings on the 1st floor which need time to study. Do visit.
Shaunak S — Google review
It's a lovely place with lovely staff. I thoroughly enjoyed reading and seeing the beautiful sights. I recommend you go with a company to stake pictures and discuss with, also check out the Egyptian Mummy. Overall, I rate this experience highly in my books. I liked that it was up-to-date as it even had a COVID-19 record and point of care consumables. 100% recommend if that's your style.
Innocent K — Google review
A wonderful museum with some fine exhibits from many different countries and timespans.

Zoo

Nature & Wildlife Areas
Plantasia Tropical Zoo is a captivating attraction housed in a large glass pyramid, featuring an array of exotic cacti, tropical plants, wildlife, insects and fish. Situated at Parc Tawe retail park, this immersive adventure offers visitors the opportunity to interact closely with diverse animals and plants. Divided into two climate-controlled zones - tropical rainforest and arid - the zoo nurtures around 5000 thriving plants such as palms, bromeliads, orchids and giant bamboos.
A small, but lovely zoo, beautifully laid out with a very reasonably priced gift shop. We did the loop numerous times and saw the animals doing lots of different things. If you can't see something on the 1st time around, I would recommend going back as this worked well for us.
Amie J — Google review
We went to Plantasia on a wet holiday with young school-aged children. We bought tickets in advance to benefit from pre-booked discount. Parking was immediately outside the zoo (the car park was exceptionally busy going in-and-out). It was a small zoo, taking an hour and a half to go round at a slow pace. The children's trail gave them a little focus and helped them slow down, though more variation in questions would be better (most of the questions were "how long is ____"). And seeing damaged displays is sad. We all really enjoyed seeing the animals and learning about them though. A great activity, and particularly great in wet weather. Would definitely go again some time.
Midas G — Google review
It’s a small zoo but I wasn’t expecting it to be any bigger as it is in a retail park. I was definitely surprised by the variety of animals and plants. I loved how the whole place looks like if it is in the jungle and also that are different levels. My favourite were the Egyptian and red foot tortoises.
Claudia B — Google review
Average zoo. Slightly overpriced for a small zoo. Everything is cramped into a small space. Staff are great & knowledge, were really good with my inquisitive grandson. Finished within an hour. Gift shop is extortionate, not pocket money prices for children. For a city centre attraction I was expecting considerable more.
Khalid K — Google review
For a zoo on a retail park this was very reasonable and fun to visit. It’s cleverly ‘layered’ to give it lots of interesting perspectives and heights. The wildlife selection was decent for young children, of course you can’t help but feel sad for some in captivity, like the Macaw for example. But I guess that’s zoo’s for you. We arrived but hadn’t booked. It was full booked but they advised there were slots available later and to book online. Which was fine for us to do and wonder the many other retail outlets before going back. Overall perfect experience on a day with bad weather.
Rajen M — Google review
Family of 6 visiting for 1st time . We enjoyed the small zoo , theres plenty to see and do and will pass on some hours . Just be warned the location is full of drunks and drug users outside dont let this put you off .
Clinton F — Google review
The zoo is a great place even for a uni student like me. It has a range of animals to explore for a size of zoo like this one. But you gotta walk for more than a round or wait patiently to catch all species as they come and go, some hide in the hole or under the rock so you may not see it at first. But that's where the fun lies. Phillis the reptile is cute and lively, but I noticed a wound on her lower lip and she keeps touching it with her tongue. I hope they take care of it asap.
Jann C — Google review
Good little zoo. It only takes 20-30 minutes to walk around, but you can go round as many times as you want. A good, although limited, selection of animals, and most of the enclosures are spacious enough for them. Very good layout, with some good views of the enclosures. It was warm in there (which it needs to be for the animals). Wasn't that expensive (less than £20 for 2 adults, if you book in advance). Probably more suited to younger kids, but as an adult, I enjoyed it. If in Swansea, and have an hour spare, would recommend it (also the retail park it's in, has a selection of shops/restaurants).

Interesting information, attractive and interactive presentation, friendly and knowledgeable staff and perfect choice if you have only 70 - 90 minutes or so to visit.

Interesting insight into the man's life from early years to his young death. I enjoyed my visit and put a donation in the box at the end.

What a great place. I loved the Chinese Wellbeing Workshop. The host was so warm and helpful. She showed us how to play Chinese board games and served us wonderful green tea too. I highly recommend visiting, even if it's just to go to the 2nd floor to see this wonderful programming.
Rachel F — Google review
I grew up in a family who not only loved the poetry and stories written by Dylan Thomas but, who remembered with great affection too his radio broadcasts. I loved as a child growing up being introduced to his poetry and writing. So, it was a dream come true when l first visited this lovely centre when it first opened in 1995 and then to return yesterday, for the second time. For me personally, as an absolute fan of Dylan Thomas, this centre always touches my heart ❤️ in every way. The staff are so very lovely, knowledgeable and welcoming. Thank you so much everyone.

Informative and fascinating centre celebrating the life and works of Dylan Thomas. Would make an excellent school visit. Great staff to boot!

The Swansea Grand Theatre, established in 1897, is a historic Victorian venue that has been entertaining audiences for over 120 years. It has hosted legendary performers such as Catherine Zeta Jones and Sir Henry Irving. The theatre offers a diverse lineup of events including dramas, musicals, comedies, and dance shows. Visitors can also take behind-the-scenes tours to learn about the theatre's rich history and the stars who have graced its stage.
What a beautiful theatre! We had a lovely evening at The Rat Pack at The Sands at Christmas. It was fab! Reasonably priced drinks and even ice creams in the interval 😊 The only downside was the air conditioning overhead was rather cold, so we had to keep our coats on.
Cherrie C — Google review
This venue is the perfect size for a great night out. I've seen many performances here in opullant timeless design and the ability to fill it with amazing atmosphere and attention to detail. Fantastic location very close to transfer links and car parks as well as local restaurants and pubs. The staff are always very accommodating and on hand to offer help or guidance. This venue is small enough to enjoy each performance and be able to view the stage, the seats are very comfortable but as expected being a historic building not lots of legroom if taller in stature. I look forward to visiting soon .
Brenda H — Google review
Came here to watch 'Port Talbort Gotta Banksy' - thoroughly enjoyed the play & surroundings in the Arts section of the theatre. The building outside is original however the interiors are so contemporary with fantastic use of light, colour, glass, materials etc. Original features such as the spiral staircase have been modernised - it's worth a visit to see the architecture & interiors- take a look at my pictures - they speak volumes! P.s your able to go on the roof trellis & have a fab view of surrounding area with old building tops in view as well as the surrounding mountains.
Amy B — Google review
Our evening at this historic theater was magical. The venue itself is stunning with perfect acoustics and comfortable seating offering good views from every section. The performance we saw was breathtaking - the cast was incredibly talented and the production values were outstanding. The staff managed the intermission crowds efficiently while maintaining a warm, welcoming atmosphere. From the elegant lobby to the impeccable cleanliness of the facilities, every detail contributed to a special cultural experience. We left feeling uplifted and already planning our next visit.
Ella G — Google review
Beautiful theatre, staff really looked after me as an ambulatory wheelchair user, had brilliant view, no air con which was difficult as it was sooo hot, only one lift so long waiting times

Go as often as we can as it's a wonderful venue and the staff are just brilliant. Most recently seen Emma Kenny, Julian Clarey and Colin Sutton. Arrive early to park in their car park as its very reasonable and super close.

Castle
Located in the heart of Swansea's city center, Swansea Castle is a historic site dating back to the 13th century. The castle, originally built in 1107, features ruins with an arcaded parapet and informative panels for visitors. Once a strategic fortress overlooking the River Tawe and controlling the harbor and trading routes, it played a significant role in the town's history during the industrial revolution. Despite relatively little remaining today, it stands as a proud symbol of Swansea's past.
It's a lovely fort, a ruin in the middle of the city. It has a lot of back story, as explained in the nearby signage. It's worthwhile to see, even though we could only see it from the outside. There appeared to be no entrance for the public to enter the building, and it was completely free, no tickets were needed!
Cynthia R — Google review
Stunning. Ruin is worth a look around, although you can only see the outside.
Emma T — Google review
Ruins of a castle in the city centre. Open to the public for viewing for free, ruins can not be entered or explored for safety reasons.
Maggie W — Google review
To be honest it should be more about Castle Square than the actual Castle itself. There is not much left to see but the best part about visiting is, apart from the obvious old & new photo opportunity, is the gorgeous Castle Square with it's magnificent fountain and waterfall features. On a lovely sunny afternoon the sun bathed steps heading up to the castle from the square are a beautiful place to sit, enjoy and relax in the while visiting Swansea and all it has to offer
Paul W — Google review
Not a great deal to see, worth a 10 minute walk around and there's some nice fountains across the road. Not worth a special trip to see. Plenty of rubbish about which was pretty disappointing, some steps of something just shoved in one of the only bits you can see in to, along with all the rubbish. Could do with a good tidy up, such a shame for a historical building.
Miss B — Google review
Even though you can't access inside, it's always nice to chill out near the ruins . Early years and rebuilding 1106: The first timber castle was built by Henry de Beaumont after he was granted the Lordship of Gower. 1116, 1192, 1215, 1217: The early timber castle was attacked multiple times by Welsh forces, finally being razed in 1217. 1221–1284: William de Braose rebuilt the castle in stone, creating the "New Castle" that forms the basis of the current ruins. Strategic importance and later uses Strategic location: The castle was built on a cliff overlooking the River Tawe, which gave it control of the river and a vital trade route along the coast. Medieval conflicts: The castle was re-garrisoned during the Glyndwr revolt but saw little action in later conflicts like the English Civil War. 18th-century prison: The castle was later adapted to serve as a debtor's prison. Modern era: Today, the ruins are a stark contrast to the modern city center surrounding them, visible in Castle Square.
Ewilane B — Google review
It's decent to have a look at if you're wandering past, but I wouldn't necessarily go out of your way to see it. It's the small ruins of the castle and a few information boards. You can't get inside the castle! Nice fountain near the castle though!

Swansea Arena, also known as Arena Abertawe, is a state-of-the-art entertainment and event space located in the heart of the Copr Bay coastal park. With a capacity of 3,500, it hosts major events and world-class performances. The arena is conveniently situated just a 10-minute walk from Swansea railway station.
Fantastic arena! Very attractive design inside and out (much nicer venue than Leeds First Direct Arena) Clean and well maintained. Event staff were so friendly, efficient and helpful. Several bars and coffee/ snack ships inside. Car park is built directly underneath and adjacent to the arena, so very convenient to access straight from the parking area. Parking was super expensive though - £15 for 4 hours. Very much enjoyed the event here.

Wow what a fantastic experience!! We came to listen to the Music of the Movies played by the Welsh Concert Orchestra. What an absolutely wonderful treat! The venue was really cool, very fun to enter into that golden swirl ceiling entrance lobby. The Music of the Movies was thrilling to listen to and watch the orchestra and accompanying choir live. The conductor was funny and kept the performance moving in the most effortless and enjoyable way with his little introductions to certain pieces and well thought out comments and notes of trivia about the music. The sound of the orchestra was gorgeously full and rich and even though we were at at the top at the back it was still a good enough level of volume to feel fully immersed in the music. My personal favourites from the set they played were the pieces from Narnia, LOTR's, Star Wars and Harry Potter. Thank you for a very memorable and wonderful afternoon.

Fantastic venue, great friendly staff, great sound. Parking at St David's close and good value £2 all day Sunday. Level 42 and Roachford absolutely brilliant!

An absolutely fantastic venue in Swansea, a nice modern theatre feel with so much space, and help for those who need assistance, bars ,food and lots of toilets, a must visit. Good parking as well.
Dave F — Google review
Amazing experience, 100% recommend this place for the experience and widely accessible and accommodating as got moved to more suitable seats by a staff member due to accessibility. Great layout overall, plenty of toilets, food and drink options and staff amazing and friendly. Car park has easy access to arena via multiple lifts and stairs directly to the entrance for ease of access, this parking is a bit more pricier than other options but if you want to be near and have an easy experience I would recommend.

Lovely Arena. Staff lovely too. No waiting around for drinks, the line moved quickly. I felt it was really well organised Only disadvantage is if you park in the main car park can take a while to get out of it

Great venue! Lots of car parks near, and ,for once a place actually has enough ladies toilets! Also enough bar staff, plus an order to seat service. Only slight issue was signposting.....the entrance is up one level which we couldn't see until we asked someone and it was a shame the restaurant next to it closed at 4pm. (Plenty of other eateries within a ten minutes walk, but that's not ideal if you have any problems with walking) There are food stalls inside, but not open until 6pm

1 million year queue for the women's toilets. In the mens, a woman came in mopping almost to the backs of my legs. Honestly, I understand continuously cleaning but personally I need a little space to pee and having someone inches from my back does put me off. The upper circle seats are absolute dross. I couldn't read the screen which was used as part of the show, or even see the performers faces. Upper circle should not be open for non music gigs unless a screen is added to magnify the stage. There were loads of empty seats further down but I couldn't see them available when buying mine. Swansea as a whole is an awful place. Menacing and nigh on impossible to urinate in, every place I went had toilets closed or hard to access. Hopefully I won't need to go back soon.

Dylan Thomas Birthplace, located in the heart of Uplands, Swansea, is a must-visit for literature enthusiasts. This historically listed house offers an accurate representation of a 20th-century family home and provides guided tours that allow visitors to explore the poet's upbringing. The house also offers traditional Edwardian dinners and accommodation within the home for an enchanting experience. Visitors can walk through the house freely or book tailored tours to learn more about Dylan Thomas and his life.
Absolutely loved our stay here. We were able to speak with the owner and get some history and tales of the house and it's restoration. You can definitely tell it has been a labor of love. Schedule a tour, stay if you can. Help them keep this important piece of literary history going.

An amazing experience! Geoff and his team have done a wonderful job refurbishing Dylan Thomas' birthplace. During our stay, we were able to imagine how the family lived and how the young Dylan grew into a poet and writer. We deeply appreciate your painstaking efforts—both in the historical research and in the actual renovation. Since even modern singers appreciate DT, I hope this house will continue to endure for many years to come.

Whilst visiting our grandson at university in Swansea, my wife and I made a trip to Cwm Donkin Park and Dylan Thomas' house. It proved to be a wonderful experience . The. park is very well maintained and exactly as we imagined and after spending about an hour there, we moved on to Dylan's birthplace for the house tour . What a treat was in store for us! We were met by the owner, Geoff, who sat us in the front parlour and proceeded to give us an illuminating history of the house and the time Dylan spent there. We were then left to investigate the whole house in our own time and see how the family lived there. It was a real priveledge to be looked after so well by Geoff, a remarkable man, who made us feel most welcome and was so knowledgeable that we learnt much more about Dylan's life - a totally unique experience.
John H — Google review
We visited last Sunday afternoon and had a really warm welcome and excellent introductory talk from Geoff Haden, the owner. The rooms all had good information boards about the house and the Thomas family. The house itself is beautiful, a great example of a house of its era, and the fact that Dylan Thomas lived there is the icing on the cake. Well worth a visit.... And the Welsh cakes and tea are worth having. Delicious!

The experience of a lifetime. A week in the house where Dylan Thomas grew up and got the memories that he later shared with all of humanity. The house is not an Airbnb. It's a return to the 1900s. The location is stunning.
Doug B — Google review
It was truly a treat to stay in the house where Dylan Thomas was born, grew up and wrote much of his early work. If you are a Thomas fan, or even if you think you might become one someday, don't miss the chance to stay a night or more here. There are many writer's houses you can visit, but I don't know of any others you can actually live in. Since the house is restored quite faithfully to what it would have been like when DT lived there, it lacks a number of 'modern conveniences', but this is more than made up for by the authenticity of the experience. The house is full of interesting artefacts and is the best place in the world to read some of DT's many reminiscences of his childhood. We stayed for a week, using the house as a base for exploring Swansea, the Gower, Laugharne, the mountains, etc. Highly recommended.
TM J — Google review
A "hidden gem" where we had a truly memorable visit followed by an enormous afternoon tea served by Geoff whose warm welcome and obvious love for the house only added to the experience. We were surprised to be the only two visitors on the day. Please spread the word about this lovely place.

To think that the legendary poet lived and grew up here is quiet special. I didn't go into the house but had to go out of my way to have a look based on my love of Under Milkwood.

Tenpin Swansea offers a special "Schools Out" deal during school holidays, providing a burger meal and two games of bowling at discounted rates for both children and adults. The venue is also praised for hosting fantastic birthday parties, with staff members going above and beyond to ensure a stress-free experience for parents and an enjoyable time for the kids. The attentive service includes engaging activities, treats for all attendees, and an overall positive experience that makes it highly recommended for future bookings.
Tenpin Swansea is a fantastic improvement! I'd visited a few months back and wasn't overly impressed, but they've clearly renovated, and it's now a wonderful place for a fun evening out. We visited on a Friday and it was jam-packed, so we had to wait about 45 minutes for a lane, but it was absolutely worth it. The facilities are great, the atmosphere was buzzing, and the place looks so much better after the renovation. Despite being busy, everything was well-maintained and the staff were efficient.
Danish M — Google review
We arrived on time and there was nobody at the reception desk, so we waited a while to be seen to. Once they arrived the staff were friendly and helpful. We ordered food and drinks on the website, but there was no activity at the bar/kitchen for over 30 minutes. I had to chase it up and waited another 25 minutes to be served our food, unfortunately we had almost finished bowling by this time. Apart from the wait I found the bowling and food to be reasonable value.
Jamie B — Google review
Went to attend a child's birthday party and have to say this place has really stepped up it's game. Good party atmosphere and the staff really made an effort to make it special. The meals served weren't the best and a lot of kids left some food behind but for the price it's not bad. Bowling was good, balls are still the same as when I went as a kid and update so they don't bounce and wobble would be great but it's something they could improve on in the future. Would definitely take the kids again but the arcade and pool tables will sting the pockets.
Antoni M — Google review
Really good experience! Recently upgraded the deco and with new machines. Really good fast service at 12pm and not to busy during mid week. Add a picture to the scoreboard, easy score card automatically updates.
Chris W — Google review
Our regular bowling place, great experience with reasonable price every time we go. We didn't try the arcade area too much but seems many new machines were added after refurbishment which is quite nice. Some machine's ticket slot could be empty or jammed during the busy time but staffs there are always very helpful.
Jo X — Google review
Paid £5 per person for 1 game of bowling, which is very affordable for a nicely done up bowling alley. There’s a very lively atmosphere here when we visited, even when it was a Monday evening. The lanes are split by plexi-glass, and your section comes with a large sofa, a little table for food and drink, and shared bowling balls. You can customise the background of your score card by taking photos of your party all together, and individual head shots when it’s your turn which adds an element of fun. The parking is free for 2 hours in the large car park, but if you’re likely to be longer, you can enter your registration plate and the reception for free parking. The bowling alley has a well stocked bar with food options, an arcade with lots of games. There were two games which was broken at the time of visit (piano tiles and a duck game), and only one of the slots were working on the machine that counts your tickets that you win on games. Staff were friendly! There are other activities you can do here too like an escape room and karaoke, all at an additional cost, of course. Overall, a very good visit.
Hal S — Google review
Love it here since they have redecorated. Much better quality bowling and new balls etc. fun lighting and good music. Staff aren’t very happy but overall good experience
Tamzin — Google review
The bowling was great fun, the food was seriously disappointing and over priced! 40 minutes waiting for food and we were the only ones there. The pizza was like one of them cheap ones you put in microwave! The burger buns were stale and the nacho was a little packet of tortilla chips with some sauce all that for £60 and 3 cokes absolutely ridiculous never again!

Cinema & Co is a cafe and bar located in downtown Swansea. This establishment offers a variety of attractions nearby, such as Swansea Castle and Castle Square. It is an ideal place to begin your exploration of the city. Additionally, if you are looking for a weekend getaway, there are several highly recommended attractions in the area. These include the National Trust Rhossili Shop & Visitor Centre, Rhossili Beach, and Rhossili Bay.
I went with a friend to see elemental. Their Instagram is responsive. The staff who attended to us was so lovely. We got cocktails to take in with us, IT WAS SO COZY with beautiful artwork on the walls. The restaurant area is beautiful as well, tastefully decorated with plants and nice lighting. The overall vibe was MUCH MUCH better than a cinema or student accommodation movie room. STUDENTS GET DISCOUNTS!!

Cinema and Co. is a fantastic, relaxing cafe-bar and independent cinema hosted by a warm and principled woman of strong character. The atmosphere is welcoming, the clientele have a diverse range of views and frequently make good conversation. The reputation of the business has been unfairly maligned by a group of people whose criticisms lack understanding or substance. Cinema and Co. is a gem, it has my highest recommendation.
JackDonovan987 — Google review
A true hidden gem in the heart of Swansea. Cinema & Co. isn’t just a venue — it’s a sanctuary for creativity, community, and cosmic connection. I had the honour of performing at the Open Mic Poetry Night, and from the moment I walked in, I felt the warmth of the space and the people within it. The atmosphere? Dreamy. Fairy lights, pallet sofas, and walls adorned with vibrant art — it feels like you’ve stepped into a living poem. The bar and café are lovingly curated, with an eclectic, bohemian feel that makes you want to stay all night. And I just might, next time. The people? Inspiring. From the warm welcome at the bar to the beautifully engaged audience, every soul in the room felt like part of something sacred. Huge thanks to Hannah (our radiant host!) for holding such a special space and to everyone who listened, felt, and resonated. If you’re looking for an alternative space that celebrates authentic expression — where art, poetry, music, and soul meet — then this is the place. I left lighter, brighter, and already planning my return. 💫 Diolch o galon, Cinema & Co. This Knight will be back. 🐉✨

Anna is wonderful hostess. The venue is fantastic, the cinema room is very cool with seats and beds! C'mon what's better than watching a film in bed 😂. Lovely coffee and snacks available. Keep an eye out for Anna's home made coffee date and walnut cake! It's immense. Don't miss this unique opportunity.

We had a School trip here today, absolutely fantastic service!! The children loved the place. There was popcorn and squash, they were thrilled. I had one of the best milkshakes I’ve ever tasted. 🥰 Would definitely recommend Cinema and Co to anyone or any School wanting a trip. Super friendly too ❤️

This place is so awesome! My partner and I walked by and were immediately pulled in… it looks and feels so magical from the outside, and is even more so when you step in. Such a lovely friendly atmosphere, with so many great events hosted! We only had time to have a couple of delicious hot chocolates, and we chatted with Anna for awhile. She is wonderful and welcoming and clearly puts so much good energy into this place. We will definitely be coming back to experience more next time we’re in Swansea! P.S. we didn’t come in on a night with films, but we peeked into the cinema and it’s so dreamy back there! It’s like everything I wish had existed when I was a teenager, and would be so excited to come here if I was local to Swansea or visiting for a longer period. I wish there were more places like this!
Jahnavi V — Google review
What a fantastic venue, really nice and friendly staff, awesome drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). Awesome size cinema, great size screen and really comfortable seating. Holds exclusive events and Q&A sessions with directors which is a massive bonus.

Literary wizardry married sing-song sonic balm at Swansea Cinema's & Co. All revelled in atmospheric environs of its poetry soirée there, where quality and variety were the ardour of the day. Karl and Zen were benevolence itself as co-hosts par excellence. That arty brace shepherded the bohemian crowd with aplomb and then some. Charismatic Maisy ran the bar with elan and a half. Friendship was ascendant as applause soothed our bardic souls at a dazed day's denouement. Mark Lyndon

Hafod Copperworks is a great place to visit if you're interested in industrial history and want to get a glimpse of how things used to be. The site is still in its early stages of development, but the volunteers are working hard to make it a popular tourist destination.
The Hafod-Morfa Copperworks was, at one time, the largest copperworks in the world and the hub of the global copper industry. Penderyn's 3rd Distillery in Wales is located nearby, with the Distillery Hall housed in what was once the copperworks' powerhouse. The other buildings that remain on site are derelict but are currently being restored. This area is a nice place to walk and, overall, a great area to relax and learn.
John A — Google review
One of the most historic landmarks of great importance of Swansea and Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 is the Hafod-Morfa Copperworks. The remains are Grade II Listed Buildings ushering the statutory protection. It was nice to see that the Swansea Council, Swansea University, Friends of Hafod-Morfa Copperworks and Local Community came forward to revive this treasured heritage after decades of despair! The Powerhouse & Canteen, a Grade II Listed Building, is currently undergoing restorative and preservative work as well as repurposing the building for the Visitor Centre with many unique features! Another Grade II Listed Building - former rolling mill building - currently being used as a museum - is also undergoing repurposing works to support the regeneration project! However, It would be better and ideal to add a specific Visitor Centre for the site with café, souvenirs shops, information display, seating areas, disabled access, conference hall - it would bring more diverse visitors with children and younger audiences! This new installation works is intrinsically involved with all the Grade II Listed Buildings in the Hafod-Morfa Copperworks! The whole site of the Hafod-Morfa Copperworks reminds us of the historic industrial past of Swansea! These are the early signs, and perhaps, only few remaining Monuments of the industrialised nation the Swansea/Wales used to be! And perhaps, a reminder of how polluted these area was and how it contributed towards the "Climate Change"! What a mystery! What a history! Who would have thought the Morfa Road was once a vibrant busy Swansea Canal! And because of the Swansea Canal, the current towns came to existence and without this canal, Swansea might not have the industrial revolutions for which Swansea was once Known as "Copperopolis"! It is an amazing Heritage site - full of mystery and picturesque viewpoints - River Tawe, White Rock Heritage Park across the River, Tall Chimney, Art Works, Morfa Bascule Bridge, Heritage Trails! Art Installations brought in some life to the site and it is more descriptive through the arts! A huge potential to make this one of the best walking/hiking routes in the area! Despite the historic importance and statutory protection, the whole site looks like derelict, run-down, barren, neglected, not of importance at all! It is currently closed due to repair works! The whole site needs a makeover with appropriate signages & lightnings, interpretation display boards and a proper maintenance programme to make it a safe site to visit and enjoy the heritage! Whole site is temporarily closed for the regeneration project! Look forward to seeing the completed work and regeneration project reviving the site which once was bustling with workers and polluted gas!

Kieran B — Google review
Great Historic site still in its infancy for development but the passion of the volunteers is amazing. Nice by the river, also if you go to the waterfront you can take a boat trip on the "Copper Jack" and see the site from the river.
Peter S — Google review
Doesn't seem to be a lot to see or do. There are some old industrial buildings but they appear to be off limits. Some sculpture and some interpretation boards, in what is otherwise an empty field. Fine for a walk around, but sadly, the many buildings are too far gone at present.
Doug N — Google review
Lovely little historical site, could use more attention.
Cheryl B — Google review
No parking, litter everywhere, picnicking tables look like they've been used as barbecues. Poor photo opportunities due to high fences. Very disappointed. As usual Swansea council ruining our heritage by not looking after our historic sites.

Huge expectations for planned investment. Once The Leading World's Copper Industry site so definitely worth some proper exposition. Will be brilliant to see cult Penderyn Distillery on site. Rather than that, not much besides derelict buildings - well worth to ILLIGAL try get into for stalkers - on site to see for now. Good views for Swansea Valley, Kiley Hill and Liberty Stadium

Really enjoyable fun. We did the “Dead on The Hour” room and although we needed lots of extra clues we managed our “escape” with 10 seconds to go. My husband had been a reluctant participant initially but can’t wait to go back - would highly recommend! Staff were lovely and didn’t make us feel as though we were asking for too much help (even though we probably were 🤣)

Really fun experience, the setup was well-made with challenging puzzles to solve and interesting equipment and effects. We'll definitely be going back again! Lost a star as it was difficult to contact someone before booking for more information, but on-site, the host was lovely and even then "briefing room" was set up and themed, with a fun background storyline that applies to all their puzzles. They have some designated parking spaces available as well, so no hassle trying to find parking.

My Friends and I all thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the room 'Breakout' today. Our GM was lovely and everyone was so welcoming. We managed to escape with 4 minutes to spare but it was difficult enough to make us think!! Very well designed with lots of items/effects that really complimented the atmosphere of the whole experience. With this room being my first room that I have ever done, I cannot recommend it enough. We all enjoyed it so much and would love to come again and test out the different rooms. Thank you so much for such an amazing day!!!

Chain cinema for a wide range of entertainment, including the latest releases & live event screenings.
Seats in the main screens are a little uncomfortable by the end of long films but the recliner seats are excellent, the theaters and bathrooms are always clean, the screens are great and the audio balance is excellent. Food and drink prices really aren't at all bad for a cinema either, pretty reasonable. Great place!
Thomas B — Google review
Clean facilities, tasty ice cream and popcorn, all wheelchair accessible. Don't like that there aren't rooms with quieter movies for people like me who don't like loud noise. Opposite from a McDonalds for a bite to eat and Hollywood Bowl for fun bowling and the arcades. But, I have never been in a line for cinema tickets!!! The food is lovely, but on the downside, it is way to pricey! This makes ODEON 3 stars.
William E — Google review
Free parking at this cinema is great and plentiful on most days though on busier days can be very packed. The staff are young and enthusiastic and you can now purchase your choice of food through the interactive screens in the foyer. Inside there are very few toilets and a narrow corridor to access them, the film screens are mostly ok though some are showing a lot of wear on the seats which could do with perhaps renewing and upgrading to all premium seating which might then justify the entry price a little more 😉
Gary P — Google review
Do NOT pay for premium seats, the only noticeable difference is that they are a different colour, they are the exact same size and the legroom is the same as the standard seats. Also, the room lights are not completely turned off and so it's still quite bright which ruins the atmosphere.
Jpw1097 — Google review
I spend a lot of time at this cinema being a limitless member. Seats are always comfy (although some seats are clearly worn/wearing out, which is the only reason really for 4 stars) Staff are always very friendly when talking to you throughout your visit. I always find the venue to be clean when attending. Always has a good selection of films on, ranging from new ones, to some old classics, which are great to see on the big screen.
Rhys B — Google review
You know what you’re getting it’s not the cheapest but it’s not the worse. The prices have come down on tickets in recent years. Let’s be honest they make their money on confectionery, but you are allowed to bring anything in that isn’t hot food so don’t feel obliged with Sainsburys across the way and Aldi around the corner. Staff are friendly and helpful.
Callum — Google review
Use Taunton Odean regularly, but this is the first time I've found a fault. Upgraded to a premium seat as I need the leg room. Today I sat down to find my knees a inch away from the seat in front (I'm in room E) 2 hour plus film and the last 20 minutes were agony. Never had this issue before so unsure if it's due to a refit or a different layout for the 3d screen in screen 5. Otherwise parking, facilities, staff all brilliant. But the lack of comfort leads me to use other cinema chains.

Easy to find and plenty parking. Kids loved it! Cafeteria was reasonably priced. The play area was super secure. The staff were very, very helpful and lovely. Neither of mine braved the big slide, they look almost vertical! Lol! Wear long sleeves and trousers - this will help prevent friction burns off some of the surfaces. There's a little kids area. Parents are ok to get on the equipment and help their kids if they need. Adults only play time twice a month too! (Considering an outing for my divorce party!) Very reasonably priced, lockers available, seating on the. Ground floor and a mezzanine level. Book in advance during busy times to avoid disappointment. We had a great time and we'll definitely go again.
Leann D — Google review
Giant play area with plenty for the kids to do and enough tunnels, nets and slides so they don't get bored. It's more difficult than other "soft plays" to keep track of your kids because of the layout. And the football area being impossible to see from the seating area means you can't make sure that the kids aren't kicking all heck out each other. They might do well to reduce the number of children in at one time, as it's often crammed solid like a tiny protest or the world's most colourful riot.
Ganondorf S — Google review
Great place for kids to let off steam. Very loud as you'd expect with lots of high-energy children racing about. Loud cheesy music on tap. Little one age 4 loved it. Lots to do. Good value for money. 3 adults and one child under 5 cost just under £10! Food was poor and limited choice, it was hot though - the usual children's fayre for these sort of places, not much choice for a healthy option, tables were very close together so the aisles were narrow. Do expect to be knocked as people go past. Dirty toilets! Top tip, book your slot online for as early as possible. It fills up here very quickly.
Daisy D — Google review
Large and kids had fun. Could be a bit cleaner (sticky everywhere) and machines for sweets not maintained but the actual play (which is the whole point) is good! Best to book though.

Definitely going back again! This place is fab, 2 year old thoroughly enjoyed herself and its big enough that adults can walk round and climb too without having to squash yourself through. 2 sheer drop slides, although the red one was closed on our visit. Was lovely and quiet on a Wednesday morning so had the run of the place to ourselves. Equipment was clean and floors appeared clean and tidy too. Not much of a food selection but enough for the kids and plenty of other choices in the area. Will definitely go back and definitely recommend!
Cathryn B — Google review
It's a good place to go, good value for money, children have a lot of fun, only downside is that the shop is highly expensive and when it comes to buying for X3 or more plus yourself works out way over budget, we always have a KFC afterwards, but then having a drink and sweets etc in here is not something I would do on a regular basis

Stats online it’s open , currently 11 am on a Tues morn. Drive all the way there , empty ! Told it’s a private booking party this morning and not open till 12:30 to the public . What am absolute joke. Why would you close to the public for private bookings when you display on line your open. Travelled all the way to you , 35 mins and a wasted journey . Redicilous

5 stars from me and my partner as it's the only play area that really keeps up with hygiene and cleanliness through out as we have been to a good few and none are as good as this place. We booked before hand as we know it can get very busy which could be a disappointment if you don't book before hand. They have a large variety or slides for all ages which is great(as you can tell by the video the slides were great)😂as we have a 1year old and 7year old they have a kids area for the babies which is good. Would highly recommend to friends and family!!

Good exercise too gets the heart rate up and steps in. All the action movies you've seen, pretend you're Rambo or Dutch or the terminator, good crack and support local businesses.

Just visited new site today after many years of happy visits to old site. What a blast, absolutely loved the fun and warm welcome.....🙂

Amazing time and birthday me and my friends had a month ago, the young employee set it up perfectly for all of us with their timing and party bags.

Kids had an excellent time in there. Attended a birthday party there. Kids enjoyed very much.Must visit for them. Not easily identifiable building. Walkable distance from St David’s car park. Kids had so much fun

Wonderful place. Very affordable and interesting because you can play with your friends and even people you don’t know. Staff are so amazing. A lot of fog is always there so you enjoy the game more. It has floors so people could have a large space to play and run around.

Great fun, be careful about other guests. One boy jump scared my little girl and then slapped her to get the gun out of her hand! As it was dark couldn't be sure which one is was so nothing could be done. Staff were amazing and so apologetic, they gave us vouchers for a free game valid until August

My daughter absolutely loves going here. It is so much fun for any age. Reasonably priced, 15 minute sessions, we usually book 2 sessions. Easy to book, friendly staff.

I contacted the swimming pool beforehand to inquire about the need to download their app for booking a swim. The receptionists kindly suggested checking the website for timetable information, but I was glad to learn that I could simply arrive and pay at the reception. This policy is inclusive as many sports facilities now require app bookings, which can be exclusionary. The 50p fee for non-members' parking seems reasonable.
Fantastic pools and very friendly staff! The shower area could need some renovation. There is no separate shower area for women.

The pool itself is great, and so good to have a 50m facility in Swansea. Unfortunately it is really badly run, with reception staff making the whole thing an unpleasant experience. I would have held off putting this review on here, but an official complaint I made over 2 weeks ago has not been acknowledged or actioned. Very disappointing to say the least.

I had an unpleasant experience with a lady reception staff member at the facility today. Upon inquiring about the pool opening hours, she disregarded my question and failed to provide the information I needed. As a new customer, I found her lack of helpfulness and impolite demeanor quite disheartening. A more attentive and courteous approach would have greatly improved my initial impression of the establishment.

Imagine having to pay to park at a shop/supermarket/gym, well you have to pay to park here. Pay to enter AND pay to park. There's 1 sign on entrance to the lot, the pay & display machine at the far end of the lot out of sight for most. No reminders to pay & display, none at all - only the small sign at the entrance. Predatory, as I found out. £30 fine for missing these minimal signs of paying at a venue where you have to pay. Double-payment required to swim. Absolutely disgusting business practices all-round.

The pool itself is great. However, changing room and shower need refurbishment or at least a good clean. Smelly drains and water pressure is weak. Lockers are small, can't hang your clothes or separate your boots from the rest of your stuff. Moreover, you need one pound to close your locker, it's so crazy in 2024....

clearly a busy day, pool meet, athletic meet in stadium. Coffee shop rammed and vending offline. Approach receptionist on mobile, to say Vending offline. If you go to coffee shop they have a key. Coffee shop rammed I state, ohh ... They are rqxy busy qué outside the door. How about HELP, those you work with . Two of you sitting on your phone doing nothing! Look at your reviews management Facilities great, reception poor.
Claire A — Google review
their booking system doesn’t work on some phone and doesn’t allow you to do by phone - should change their system !! plus do false advertisements . they say free sessions, none is free you have to have a membership.

Restaurant
Grosvenor Casino Swansea is a modern chain casino located on the High Street, offering gaming tables, slot machines, a grill restaurant, and a late bar. The casino features popular games like Roulette, Blackjack, and Poker along with slot games such as Cleopatra and Lucky Ladys Charm. It is conveniently situated with easy access by car, train or bus.
It was a fun evening with friendly staff. Shout out to Vi (Wolletta) in dining. Food was good with great service through out. My luck was fair and left £190 ahead! I’d return as the menu is reasonably broad and the quality good. It was lightly crowded with a fair selection of video slot machines (no reels). Table games available. Full bar. Prices were reasonable.

The card room at Grosvenor Swansea isn’t really poker-focused — it’s more like a gambling hangout disguised as a tournament. The atmosphere is clearly designed to encourage all-in action and rebuys rather than structured, strategic play. Many regulars treat it like a cash game with chips flying in left and right, and the staff seem to encourage that vibe. If you're a casual or visiting player hoping for a fair, skill-based game, this environment is very unappealing. Multiple all-ins with 6-high or T7 suited “for the fun of it” in a £70 tournament shows the lack of seriousness. If you're a real tournament player, this isn't the place — unless you're there to gamble, not play poker.

Wow!! What can I say ! 2 of us, sat night, few drinks amd meal, it's cold, we head to casino to end the night. Thuglife bouncer who likes the trainer wearing £5 spenders who drink free Pepsi are allowed in, but my friend is classed as drunk and not allowed in ? Were adults, in our 40s, and have money to spend...... Oh well, I guess loss making is the way these days .....

We as a party of 4. 2 girls 2 men. Very much enjoy until suddenly the 2 men bare in mind they are Turkish we're not allowed any more alchol we're as us 2 English females were allowed more alchol when we had drunk the same amount. They couldn't provide an answer as neither of the men were drunk. Based on the elderly bar staff reaction to them. We as a group definitely felt she had some racism in her the way she reacted at them and cut them off suddenly but not us

Fine, if you like this sort of thing! Very busy on the Joshua fight night but bar staff still working hard. The old place is starting to look a bit shabby again after the previous refurb, but I guess you're not too worried about that when drinking or gambling!

I've been to several casinos throughout the UK, for me Swansea just has a nicer feeling about it. Dealers, managers, everyone's a bit more friendly and approachable. Great little venue.
