Nestled within the historic Ironbridge Gorge, Jackfield Tile Museum is a captivating destination that showcases the rich heritage of tile-making in Britain. Housed in a former ceramics factory still actively producing tiles, this museum offers visitors an engaging glimpse into traditional craftsmanship through live demonstrations of tile-pressing, decorating, and firing processes.
This museum is amazing, this was the first time I have visited , the tiles are amazing such an incredible variety . There is even an interactive room where you can design a tile or do puzzles etc the children would love it as would adults . It wasn't very busy which is a shame as it really is a lovely place to visit .tucked away at the back of Ironbridge. Lovely staff brilliant place Ironbridge is just fascinating

Interesting museum if you like that sort of thing, I thought it was very enjoyable. The staff were friendly and welcoming, especially in the cafe.
Scott L — Google review
Wonderful museum about tile making in the region, the owners and how they came to be in the area, how tiles are made, different tile styles, and more. There are examples of many tiles, including mini recreations of pubs, lounges, bathrooms and more to show how tiles were used. We spent about an hour but could’ve lingered a little longer. Small cafe, shop, and toilets onsite. Parking included with Plus Pass or approx. £1.50 per hour.
Becky T — Google review
One of many museums in the historic Ironbridge area. Extensive, colourful and varied selection of ceramic tiles. So much to absorb. Excellent cafe and friendly staff. All set in a beautiful location running parallel to the river Severn. Always plenty of craft activities for children, especially throughout holiday times. Plenty of parking and much more, all within walking distance of the museum.
Tony S — Google review
A fabulous collection of beautiful tiles. The museum is calm and peaceful. The displays are an absolute joy and the whole place was both an education and a delightful experience.
Joules — Google review
The museum displays stunning tiles from the Victorian to Art Deco eras, including those that once adorned churches, railway stations, and public buildings. It also features reconstructed workshops showing the artistry and craftsmanship behind these beautiful designs.
Walaya L — Google review
We didn't really know what to expect from a 'tile' museum, but was pleasantly surprised. Our little children (1 & 4) loved the children's activities (baskets of coloured blocks and tiles to build with and make pictures) and our teenager really enjoyed finding the matching tiles in the activity pack. The museum was clean and very well set out and the tiles were beautiful. The cafe and shop were also very nice.
Amy — Google review
The tiles were stunning, I thinknI was expecting to be able to see a workshop of some sort.

Theme Parks
Wonderland is a fairytale-themed adventure park located in Telford, Shropshire, offering enchanting experiences for families with young children. Set in nine acres of natural woodland, the park features beloved characters such as Snow White, Alice, and the Mad Hatter.
Kids loved pretty much everything about it and as an adult I wasn't disappointed . Very age appropriate for our 1-2 year olds, they were able to go on the rides and enjoyed the fairy tale scenes, the few dinosaur models were a hit too.
Simon J — Google review
Went here with wife and kids. Had a brilliant time, all the staff are friendly and kind. The theme was Halloween. The houses were brilliantly decorated and care was given with having younger children being kind and friendly with he kiddies.
Daniel F — Google review
I rarely leave reviews but I thought the staff and characters here are fantastic. So friendly and engaging to the children. My 5 year old and 18 month old loved all the entertainment. The tea party was lovely and the matter had all the kids laughing. My 18 month old is very unsociable and normally takes months to warm up to people but he was smiling and saying yes to Alice. The people working on the rides were lovely aswell far from the bored looks you get from most UK theme parks. Both my boys were up on the stage dancing for the last disco of the day. Really is the staff that makes it so great here. Thank you
Beth O — Google review
I'm not sure why this place picks up negative reviews. Perhaps if the heavens have opened, and its raining, this may be an idea for another day... However, myself and my 3 year old really enjoyed a good few hours here, during a sun filled lovely day. The staff were very warm, friendly and engaging. We enjoyed the mini story time, mini disco and exploring the woodland area, plus the little trail hunt, and rides. My opinion is... if you have children 5 or under, this is a perfect little attraction to take them to. I'd read previous reviews, and thought it may be hit or miss, but honestly, as a daddy with a little 3 year old girl, I thought it was lovely. Memories created.

Visited the Halloween 🎃 night last night, it was amazing! The kids loved it. Been here lots of times but definitely the best one yet! A lot of effort has been put in and it shows. The characters were superb! Definitely coming back!
Marie H — Google review
Haven't been for a about 4 years due to the price increases however not much has changed. Had a great day but think now kids am 6 it's just overdone and more for younger ones. Had a great time for the teachers' day made the most out of every part and kids round rides countless times. But don't think we will return now till they have kids.
Darrelle S — Google review
We've visited Wonderland for 3 years in a row. Each time has been a good experience. Whilst the attractions remain the same, there's always new & fun things to do at the park. From face painting, hair braiding, decorating biscuits, performances from characters, meeting princesses and having a tea party with the mad hatter. The kids always enjoy the experience. There is an inflatable obstacle course within the castle that is overseen by a member of staff and plenty of toilet facilities. There are a couple of food places where I had a really sickly beautiful biscoff waffle. Coffee isn't great but they can't have it all! Also good to note, the Mad Hatter is played so so well by the member of staff employed. He really goes the extra mile with the children. 10/10 for him!
Hannah L — Google review
I want to thank one member of staff in particular, emily duff. We came to the halloween night friday evening, My son has autism and he couldn't handle the jumping out and screaming at him, he was so frightened we just couldn't calm him down. Emily came and sat with him, showing its just dress up and even walked round with my son, calming him and making him smile. She went above and beyond for him and we are so extremely greatful. Thank you so much emily, you truly are a angel xx

Nature & Parks
Telford Town Park is not your typical city park. Voted the UK's Best Park in 2015, it offers a wide range of facilities and attractions for visitors of all ages. From an aerial ropes course to five children's play areas, an adventure mini-golf course, cycle center, water play areas in summer, fishing ponds, and a visitor center with a cafe - there's something for everyone.
Amazing park, seriously has something for everyone—great playgrounds with slides, swings, rocket slide, spider’s web, sandpit and water splash zone, plus teen, inclusive and sports areas. Clean toilets at the Visitor Centre, lovely picnic lawns and gardens, and it’s dog-friendly (just keep them out of play zones). Whether you're looking to relax, explore trails, or get adventurous, it does it all—even a zoo!
Mukul P — Google review
Superb public park, great play area. Would recommend to anyone with a family. Loved my time here plenty of local attractions ( cinema /outdoor adventure / ice rink) in close proximity. An open area restaurant plaza is adjoining it. With many family favourite chain restaurants. All in all a great day out.
Michael B — Google review
Highly accessible with multiple points of entry for all age groups. Brilliant for kids and adults alike with plenty of space, playgrounds and footpaths. Its also very well maintained and even has a nature reserve. Beautiful place.
Jordan C — Google review
Visited for the annual balloon fiesta. Plenty of parking and space for all the events going on.
Wendy B — Google review
What an absolutely stunning facility for everyone to use! One of the best play areas in a long way!! Quite frankly, a world class play area and that says a lot having been to play parks around the world! Great bike tracks and so close to the Telford Shopping Centre for all the food and shopping g you can do on top of the day at the park! Definitely worth many visits!!
Tim L — Google review
Lovely park have to walk through for work etc it’s kept very clean and it’s lovely in all seasons of the year! Quite a few different walks of the town park as well, a big playground for children and it’s right next to town so it’s walkable also has a food and drinks stand, not sure when this is open though and has the visitor centre next to the playground. Nice park to visit 👍👍
Liam S — Google review
Best park around - love it love it love it. It's what makes Telford great! Slides, water area, wooden obstacle area, Arena. The LA have invested loads into it. Night time is not 🚫 great. If you let your kids out unsupervised here at night it's more of a you problem than the park. So just be mindful.

History Museums
Blists Hill Victorian Town is a living museum situated in the Ironbridge Gorge near Telford, Shropshire, England. This open-air museum transports visitors back to the 19th century, offering a vivid portrayal of life during the Victorian era. The town features restored industrial sites such as coal and iron mines, blast furnaces, and ceramic works alongside a charming Victorian townscape complete with various shops and businesses.
Fantastic day out to this living museum. Set in 1900 dozens of buildings have been moved brick by brick to this site and faithfully recreated. Staffed by knowledgeable people who take on roles in the shops and houses dressed in period costume, they great you and give you an wealth of information. We started in the Bank where we changed modern cash into shillings and pence which can be spent in many of the shops. We went around the shops there was so much to see, grocers, butchers, bakers, candlestick makers, sweet shop to name but a few. There are various houses, a school, a fairground the list just goes on. Catering is great and not over priced, you can get traditional fish and chips for £9 in the chip shop or there are two other large cafeteria. It was a fantastic day out with so much to see. I bought the really great value Pass Plus, you can go back as many times as you like in 12 months to this and about 5 other museums in Iron Bridge, you get free parking, VIP fast track entry and 10% off catering and gift shops. Real Value for money and well worth supporting. It was a great day out.
Mark G — Google review
Fun, historic town. Lots of great little shops that have been used to fill lots of the buildings with authentic businesses from around 1900. In proper dress and character docents. Terrific stop for anyone driving through ironsgate village. Super nice area for kids to play and experience what it was like 125 years ago. Loved this place, but too many stores had no one to explain what you were looking at. The fish and chips were fresh and delicious
Stephen G — Google review
Absolutely amazing place. I’ve never visited before but really wanted to come here. Going to the bank and changing cash to Victorian money was fun, and going around the whole site you could pay in modern money or Victorian money which made it interactive and fun. We had a carriage ride with the Shire Horse, and joined the sing along in the pub. We booked a slot in the Victorian photographers, so looked around the site before that. Almost every shop/house/building had a “Victorian” in who were always happy to talk and were very knowledgeable about their “trade”. If they weren’t in, they would have a clock saying the time they would be back. We played a game in the fairground and learnt lots around the site. Even the baker was baking Victorian goods in a Victorian oven (though now electric) which you could buy, and you could buy sweets in the sweet shop. The highlight of the trip was the Victorian photo shoot! It was £30 for up to 6 people, so with only 2 of us was a little pricey but I really wanted to give it ago. They had a whole wardrobe of outfits, and the photographer was very knowledgeable with what outfits went together, and how to pose. We had great fun taking the photos, and could have 1 photo printed (or extra for £10 each) which included a digital copy. Would definitely recommend the Victorian photo shoot! But may be worth booking a slot at the start of the day. Overall lovely place with lovely staff, now one of my favourite places!!

Really enjoyed our visit to Blists Hill Victorian Town. I haven’t been here since I came with my primary school, so glad to see it’s still as amazing at 23 as it was back when I was 8 (I walked in and remembered the layout and the fun memories of my school trip there, if that doesn’t speak volumes of how amazing this place was and has continued to be then I don’t know what could) . Went as a family day out with our dog, we were amazed at how dog friendly it was, out of everything there were only two places we couldn’t go with our dog which was no bother and completely understandable (sweet shop & bakery). The animals located in the town were well cared for and friendly with knowledgable handlers who were more than happy to answer questions, clearly knew the animals likes and dislikes and spoke fondly of their quirks showing a love and dedication for their four legged cast members. Our favourite Victorian character was the local police man (and his “cousin” singing in the pub - who was a very good singer). We met him on our way in and straight away were greeted with a welcoming warmth before he directed us towards our first stop of the day the post office for our very own dog licence which was decently priced as were a lot of items sold in their other shops around the town. My mum’s favourite activity was George’s carriage ride. The beautiful boy took us both and our dog around the town, he looked happy and well taken care of which as long term animal people it was a joy to see him comfortable and enjoying his work. My favourite stop off was the last one of the day for us. It was the printing shop which we visited after having a ride around the town in George’s carriage. Inside the printers we were taken through the different printers, how they are used to help create prints for the village and answered our questions from possibilities of injuries to how the different printers work in terms of changing letters, sizing of letters etc (it looked like a lot of fun and now I wish I could own one). we came away with a couple of notebooks and a postcard that fit perfectly in with Halloween. We will definitely be looking at Blists Hill Victorian Town for future day trips out, and we hope next time we visit we’re in the season for the use of the fair ground as it would have been lovely to have seen those in use.

Wow..What a excellent Victorian Town Everything as it was back in the day. You feel like you're in the Victorian Era. I got myself a one off adult single ticket, £27 Oct 2025 prices, you can buy a multiple pass to see other extractions which works out cheaper in Ironbridge area. It started with a short guided tour at 11.30 with Emily, She was so friendly, kind and so enthusiastic and told us all along short history about the town. The Town itself has shops,Bank, butchers ,bakery, clothing shop and a forerunner to WH Smith with a post office, and plenty of other shops. And don't forget to have a sing song at the pub on the corner The mine as well is a great reminder about how hard it was to work here and the forge, and the tile factory. The houses are open so as you enter you will find now and again a person dressed up and he or she will tell you about the house. There's a few places to eat and have hot/cold drinks. I had a trip as well in the carriage with George the shire horse pulling us around the town. The car park, you pay on exit ,just make a note on what time you actually park. I paid ( £6 for 5hrs, Oct 2025 prices) A must visit while you're are in the area of Ironbridge.

I visited Blists Hill Victorian Town about 20 years ago, and it was great to come back and see how it’s changed. It’s still a fun and educational day out! I loved the traditional fish and chips from the old-fashioned chippy and the Victorian-style photos. It’s a shame you can’t get some of the old-fashioned sweets they used to have, but we really enjoyed the singalong around the piano in the pub which was definitely a highlight of the day.
Kris — Google review
Definitely would recommend visiting Blists Hill. We spent numerous hours with our 10yr old son and he loved it as did we. I’d suggest going on a dry day as there is lots of walking outdoors and the fish and chip shop should you choose to go to doesn’t have indoor seating. Staff were all very pleasant and knowledgeable. Well worth the visit.
Alex P — Google review
Blists Hill was a novel experience. That there is a Victorian town you can visit at all is awesome. I was really looking forward to the Victorian photography, and it was still a good thing to experience. But I'd seen someone mention there were many options for clothing... that wasn't the case. I was also apparently under the illusion you could pick your own stuff to wear... which, surely... but I was shocked that I had to be pushy about it and feel guilty. They were looking to throw anything on you and take your picture. We were rushed from start to finish, and it totally ruined the experience. This was also the case when choosing images. The professionalism of the employee was starting to wear thin at that point. Not very pleasant. Book people an hour apart - at the very least on weekdays. The resolution is simple. Some of the employees at Blists Hill looked bored and uninterested which kind of ruined the experience. I think a lot of people would love to have your job....... or even 'a' job in today's world. Others were passionate, which was wonderful, though sometimes risks stealing time from other sites. My favourite was the Toll House and that general area - though I was very sad by the caged chicken. Chickens are intelligent creatures, and this would later be proven by a local chicken in Haworth, who had befriended the woman at the vintage clothes shop and frequently visited and slept under their table. It was very curious. This caged chicken was staring at me, and I had no choice but to walk away. Not nice. Put a fake chicken in it, or an image. Or just leave it out. Back to the Toll House: very pleasant, chilled-out aura going on there. The two men there were very polite and kind, and were evidently interested and knowledgeable on their topic. Put a very good spin on the trip for me and my partner, who are similar kinds of people. This is where I learned about those very strange Victorian rugs they made out of rags, which I would later see at the Brontë Parsonage Museum. Vegan main needed at the chippy. Yummy chips though. Nice to see there is a sensory room. Considerate and progressive.

Telford Steam Railway, located near Ironbridge, offers delightful rides on vintage steam and diesel locomotives. The railway operates from March to September, allowing visitors to travel along a mile-long stretch of the historic Wellington to Craven Arms Railway. The experience includes stops at three stations and features two steam locomotives and two diesel engines. Maintained by passionate volunteers, the heritage railway provides an authentic glimpse into the past with opportunities to explore historical exhibits and enjoy a vintage tea room.
We visited for The Polar Express and it’s probably the most magical Christmas experience we have had. The staff are amazing! Every one of them in character from start to finish. From the staff greeting visitors at the station to the ones on the train. They all made it a very special experience. I would definitely recommend a visit to The Polar Express.

I had a fabulous day at Telford Steam Railway, I went by myself and I was so happy I was able to book a ticket for just me for the cream tea train ride, as some other similar steam train experiences discriminate against single people and only allow a minimum of 2, when many solo people also want to and love experiencing these days out. When I arrived the lady that worked in the gift shop was so helpful and kind to me, she help me with my ticket, directions, showing me things in the shop and also offering to take a photo of me when I returned, the steam train itself is beautiful! The atmosphere is delightful, the mini engine ride and the miniature train villages was amazing! When I got on the train, they layered it out so nicely with table cloth, tea cup and saucer, sugar, jam, clotted cream and menu, I had the whole table to myself with window seat, the staff on the train were friendly and helpful, each person got one fruit scone and one plain scone that were large and good quality along with the jam and cream, they gave me a box for my leftovers to take home. The trip itself was enjoyable sipping tea, eating scones whilst enjoying the sounds of the train and looking out the window. This trip was good value for money on a beautiful old steam train journey, thank you! 🚂😸

An absolutely magical experience from start to finish! We attended the Polar Express night at Telford Steam Railway as a group of 6 adults and 2 teenagers, and it was so much more than just a train ride—it was a full theatrical experience that brought out the festive spirit in all of us. The evening began seamlessly at the park-and-ride in Ironbridge, where the well-organised bus service got us to the venue in just 8 minutes. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by cheerful staff in festive costumes, setting the tone for an enchanting night. The waiting area was buzzing with excitement, offering delicious hot food, refreshments, and an incredible model railway exhibition that captivated everyone. A few carols and dances later, we were guided to the platform for the main event, and that’s when the real magic began. The train journey itself was unforgettable. The conductor and staff were full of energy, creating a lively, joyful atmosphere for everyone on board. From singing and dancing to meeting Santa himself at the North Pole, every moment was special. When we returned, we had the chance to take photos with the cast and the beautiful train, as well as browse the gift shop for keepsakes to remember the night. The return bus ride to the park-and-ride was just as smooth, wrapping up a perfectly organised evening. The joy on the children’s faces (and ours!) was priceless. This is a must-do experience for families and anyone who loves the magic of Christmas. Five stars all the way!

Our visit to the Telford Steam Railway was for a Guards Experience, a Christmas present from my daughter's family. My daughter was able to join me for my special day and my wife and grandson joined us later for our first journey. We were met by the duty guard, Ben, and introduced to the Pacer, our train for the day, and on one of its only running schedules this season. We walked through the safety procedures, both inside and out, ensuring the train was safe to use. Following us was our driver, who carried out more thorough checks. With all checks carried out and a few passengers on board, we were off. We departed in one direction, then the driver swapped ends, and we set off in the other direction, to another station, which is the end of the current line. We then did the journey in reverse. As the 'guard', I was given the task of clipping the passengers tickets and having a chat with them, as well as operating the doors and carrying out the safety checks before we departed each station. I was given the opportunity of a footplate ride in reverse, which was great. Our lunch was provided at the cafe on site and was fantastic. We rejoined the train for the return journey, where I received my certificate, a year's membership, and a booklet on the history of the railway. We went to view the incredible model railway layouts, which have to be seen before going for a family walk around the lake. We returned, and my daughter had another treat in store for my grandson and myself, the chance to drive a narrow gauge diesel. This year, the Phoenix Railway were offering guests the opportunity to 'drive for a fiver'. Both my grandson and I enjoyed the opportunity of driving the locomotive twice around a large track and blowing the horn when signs appeared to warn people of our presence. Until this year, I had never heard of this railway or Horsehay, but I do now. The railway may be small in travelling distance, but they have some very ambitious plans, which will build over the coming years and bring great delight to everyone. I would like to say a massive "Thank You" to Ben, for his infectious enthusiasm for the railway, all the railway volunteers, the cafe staff, Phoenix Railway, for making our day incredibly special, and we look forward to travelling again with you as passengers. I have enjoyed reading the booklet and learning more about this amazing little line!! For a great family day out, this is definitely worth visiting, as it caters for all ages. Parking can be found beside the Goods Shed and along the old road, which is a cul de sac, as it was the turntable when the line was operational.

What a great experience... The Polar Express train ride was great. It was like an interactive theatre performance. The kids loved it! The staff/actors were amazing, the story really came to life. The hot chocolate and cookies were rubbish but who cares, bring your own! Well worth the money

Great historical museum with lots of things to do everywhere, dine in restaurants pr coffee shops, bear, souvenir shops, etc. Easy to go to via public transport or taxi. Beautiful scenery surrounding it. There are tour available to book online where other museums are included.

Ironbridge is stunning location and the Museum just adds to the appeal. If you haven’t been pay a visit .. we were just returning from an October wedding and had a couple of hours spare. Short visit but very sweet.

Tucked away behind barriers and blue covers, this incredible piece of economic and social history. Jaw-dropping awesome.

A very interesting place, there is lots to learn here. Perfect for a rainy day.
Scott L — Google review
Feel like a criminal, photos on entry. money grabbing all the time as well as expensive entrance fees so unlikely to return. I've just returned from Australia where most museums and heritage venue were free entrance and public transport was cheap sometimes free so no parking charges either
Richard G — Google review
Confusing about which site is which and what they do. I don't know if Google will attach this to the right pin! Visited the museum about iron, interesting, also Ingenuity nearby which is science for children. You need to get someone to explain all the ticket options and discounts (eg English heritage) . NB parking is extra at the various sites £1/hour.

Enginuity is a hands-on science museum located in the former ironworks buildings, offering interactive exhibits designed for kids to learn about science and engineering. The museum features activities such as creating power with dams at the water table, operating an interactive blast furnace, and exploring wind power stations. Visitors can also engage in experiments covering electricity, water, and wind through games and fun facts. Additionally, there are sensory rooms for younger children to relax and play while learning about scientists and engineers in the book corner.
Great place for kids with lots of hands on exhibits. 3hrs is enough for a visit. There are toilets inside. There is no cafe here but within walking distance there is one at another attraction. If your kids have a blue peter badge it's free to enter.
Kuldip S — Google review
It was a fun place to visit, children would love it. Very interesting things to play with. Perfect for a rainy day
Scott L — Google review
Visited with kids ranging 3-7 in age. Lots of hands on experiences for everyone. My personal favourite was moving a steam locomotive by hand. The only criticism - it was absolutely boiling inside on a failry cool October day, especially on the raised walkway. Which makes me think its the lighting that generates the heat. If anyone from the museum is reading this you should switch to LEDs and save a ton of energy costs.
Serge B — Google review
Had way too much fun here. Definitely worth a visit if you get a pass plus for the locations covered in Iron Bridge. Lots of hands on STEM things to get the kids thinking!
Kate C — Google review
What a great day out. We used our pass plus and spent 3.5 happy hours here. So much to do, a place for picnics and it was amazing to see a sensory room for neurodivergent children. My favourite was trying on all the costumes and playing the video games in the visiting exhibition. We also did the toy workshop which was great
Sophie B — Google review
Really good experience for young inquisitive minds who enjoy interactive exhibits. My 5 year old son loved it. Only took us 1.5 hrs so the price is a bit steep (£12 me, £7 him). Ample parking. Toilets on site .
Sarah M — Google review
Not that large, but good fun - reminds me of 'Launchpad' at The Science Museum. Lots of interactive exhibits that kids will enjoy playing with - as always seems to be the way with these things, though, not everything works properly. The 'water cycle' exhibit was a firm favourite with #2 son, whereas the live topographic projection onto a sandpit was a winner with his older sibling. Definitely worth a visit.
Tom W — Google review
I was here 20 years ago and always longed to come back. I was not disappointed. Ingenious models demonstrating mechanical advantage. I even pulled a steam locomotive a few feet! Many museums in the area and one can get a deal on multiple visits. Just go and take the kids!

The Coalport China Museum, located in the former factory where Coalport China was produced from 1795 to 1926, offers a fascinating look into the Victorian ceramics boom. The museum showcases various china collections including tea services, vases, miniatures, and dinner services such as the Indian Tree pattern. Visitors can also witness pot throwing demonstrations.
Interesting tour around the works looking at the history of making china in the nineteenth century. Beautiful exhibits of china, but also explaining the harsh working conditions and health hazards faced by the workers who's lives were often shortened by their employment. Fantastic display of china making in the workshop, we saw the flower basket ornaments being made very expertly.
Jan S — Google review
What a lovely place to visit. Friendly staff, great exhibits with voices from the past. A workshop producing unique gift options and an outstandind surprise, for us, a personal tour of the surrounding area including the, unknown to us, tar tunnel. The guide had somehow amassed an incredible amount of information and was both educational and entertaining.
Mike R — Google review
We didn’t go in but was nice to walk around the area to look and read about the history. But do not park in the car park if you are planning to use the free half hour because like others have said, we were charged the hour even though we were back well within the half hour to leave. The receipt couldn’t print out as the machine had run out of paper.
Ann C — Google review
Lovely little museum. Nice selection of Coalport porcelain and wonderful to be able to walk around the original workshops and kilns. My 5 year old loved the tea cup which triggered short audio clips throughout and gave adults the chance to look at the porcelain. Nice school room for role play and the workshop for the kids to make their own sculptures was great. Thanks for a lovely visit.

We visited during half term and took part in a workshop, making mini clay masks for the Day of the Dead. The ladies running the workshop were super friendly and helpful. We had a great time, enjoyed cuddles with Betty the dog and even got some cake (I don't think this is a regular offer!). A great way to spend an hour or so as part of our visit to Ironbridge.

Lilleshall Abbey is a beautiful and well-preserved abbey, which is accessible to the public. The abbey was founded in 1148 and remains an important historical site. The abbey was severely damaged during a Parliamentarian siege in the English Civil War, but much of the church still survives. The processional door is particularly impressive.
Great place to experience a little English heritage. Let the children have a run around and burn off some steam, as there's rooms to be explored. It's not far from Lilleshall Hill, which is also a great little walk! Lilleshall Abbey is the perfect place for an half hour family visit, or for those looking for a little fresh air in the countryside. You park on the country lane itself and walk down. Please bear that in mind; cars are left at your own risk. We never have valuable items or cars for that matter, so it really isn't a worry to us.

A very picturesque 13th century Augustinian Abbey that was once a Midlands powerhouse. Cited in a beautiful location and has a hidden gem in the form of an intact stairwell that offers fabulous views of the surrounding area. Worth a visit especially as there are other sites nearby as well.

I wish this place was more local to myself as I would probably be there a lot more often as it is simply a stunning place to be.

This english heritage property is open daylight hours and is free to enter. Access is via a narrow and uneven lane from the main road. There is only space for around 3 cars. This is augustinian priory is a compact but substantial ruin, and much like its neighbou haughmond abbey it has some wonderful architectural detail. History wise Richard II and John of gaunt both stayed here . It is well worth a visit , another top quality ruin .

A stunning, hidden gem of a spot. Beautiful ruins, you wander round trying to imagine the grandeur of this place. Thankfully it’s never that busy as parking is very limited (on road; about three spaces!) Find the Gothic arch, it’s a fantastic piece of stone masonry.

The Coalbrookdale Museum of Iron is a part of the Old Furnaces complex and offers a glimpse into the early iron industry. Adjacent to it is Enginuity, a hands-on science museum for children, housed in former ironworks buildings. Visitors can also explore period-dressed houses once occupied by the Darby family and the nearby Quaker Burial Ground. The museum celebrates the area's industrial heritage, while the Museum of The Gorge provides further insights into its significance.
Very very nice place to visit, loads of interesting facts and it is right across the road from Enginuity, so you can visit both at the same time. It even has a scale model of the actual Iron Bridge that is very detailed, some fossils and all kids of information and facts about the start of the industrial revolution. There are also some old age war memorabilia such as an old musket and some old daggers, very nice visit and the kids also enjoyed it.
Frans C — Google review
An interesting museum showing the history of iron in the area and how this small town became the centre of the industrial revolution. There are two floors of exhibits and lots of information panels explaining how important Coalbrookdale was at the start of the Industrial Revolution.
Annette K — Google review
A fabulous and very interesting museum. Love the iron work and history. The tour was free and in depth, however it was very slow so ideal for those taking their time or with mobility issues. The kitchen was not great but think it was just an oversight.

Very nice museum, lots of information about the area, technology and the people involved. Maybe even too much information, there is quite a bit to read. Maybe a few more interactive things would have been nice. Don't forget to visit the old furnaces outside.

The Hoo Farm Animal Kingdom is a family-focused zoo with animals from meerkats to farmyard favourites, while Dinosaur World is a small zoo featuring dinosaurs. Both are great for food, staff and animals and would make an excellent tourist attraction.
I booked my Son to do the zoo keeper for the day. What an amazing day we have had. The staff are all extremely pleasant and lovely. Our zoo keeper, Adam was amazing! He was full of knowledge, kind, patient and funny. My son and I really enjoyed ourselves! I can’t recommend this enough!! It is perfect for an animal lover!
Vanessa P — Google review
Great place to visit with the children. We were there 10:30-3:30. Could have stayed longer just had a long journey home on a Sunday. Dinosaurs are fantastic. All making noises and moving and looking realistic. Lovely animals to see and talks going on a roast the park. We managed to feed the deer and a dinosaur on our visit. Lovely big parks for the children to play in for all ages too.
Kerry — Google review
My friend and I took part in the Meerkat and Lemur experience, which included entry to the zoo. It was absolutely brilliant and so much fun. The keeper was really lovely and full of interesting and fun facts. The zoo was a perfect size, so it was not too exhausting for us 'oldies' and meant we could take our time walking around. All the staff were friendly and welcoming. We had a fantastic day and will definitely return. In addition to this, we also stayed overnight at Badger's Wood in their luxurious wooden lodge with hot tub... awesome!! We were not lucky enough to see any badgers or foxes on this occasion, but we took some fun photos to make up for this!!!

Been coming here since I was a child and every visit is somehow better than the last! Had the carnivore experience with Mel & was worth every penny! She was so lovely and knew so much about the animals - you can tell how much she loved them it was amazing! Would 100% recommend going here to anyone looking for a good day out, the animals are so happy and loved, staff is so friendly. Also loved the cats walking around the site 🤣!
Anelka B — Google review
What can i say. Dont judge a book by its cover. Its not the best presented place with quite a few enclosures and buildings looking a bit tired, but the actual day we had there was brilliant. Every member of staff was super friendly and very knowledgeable. Big props to the Dino and fossil expert (really sorry i cant remember her name but she had great spider and Velociraptor tattoos). She was brilliant and had such a wealth of knowledge. Could of stayed and listened to her talk all day. She was bursting with enthusiasm too with was really nice to see. Like i said some enclosures are looking tired but ALL the animals are really well looked after and clearly in great condition. Play areas are brilliant for kids. All the Dino parts are great and our daughter loved the shows and the Dino walk. We spent 6 hours there and the time flew by. Very happy and would definitely go again. Worth the journey. Thanks Hoo Zoo!
J F — Google review
A real hidden gem, it had the feel of all those family places I used to go to when I was a kid. The staff are passionate about the critters and environment they're in If you're looking for polished roller coasters, this isn't your place, but if you want your kids to have fun? Get them along
Damon P — Google review
We pre purchased a family ticket paying around £70 and I have to say we thought it was excellent value for money. There were a lot more animals than we had anticipated and we saw almost all of them whilst a couple of the nocturnal animals were sleeping. The dinosaur trail was brilliant and my 10 year old grandson absolutely loved it and was able to name a few before we got to the relevant information boards. The toilets were extremely clean with plenty of hand soap and paper towels. The food was a little expensive and you got the usual burger and chips etc. There was also a good selection of ready packed sandwiches and cold drinks to choose from. If I went again I would take my own as there were plenty of picnic areas. What I also liked was the fact it wasn't overcrowded. It was school holidays but it seems they only allow a certain number of guests I think maybe because of the animals. The only drawback was they have an epidemic of wasps. They were literally everywhere mainly centred around the food area and shop. I don't think I've ever seen that many and we, along with everyone else were continually swatting them away although as we went from that area they did thin out and weren't as many. We took our food to the car and ate there then went back to see more of the animals. As we went around we spoke to some of the friendly keepers and staff and they were happy to answer our questions regarding some of the lovely animals. The wasps didn't deter us from having a lovely family day out and I would highly recommend hoo zoo as a family day out.

The company operates along a 7-mile stretch of the river, offering mini-rafts, kayaks, canoes, and mega stand-up paddleboards for hire. Additionally, they provide traditional coracles for independent river exploration.
5 Stars – An Amazing Day on the River! We had an absolutely brilliant experience today with Shropshire Raft Tours! From start to finish, their service was outstanding – super friendly, professional, and really well organised. The 7-mile trip down the river was not only beautiful but also loads of fun. The raft was comfortable, easy to handle, and perfect for enjoying the stunning scenery along the way. We laughed the whole way through and made some unforgettable memories. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fun and unique way to experience Shropshire. Thanks again to the whole team – we’ll definitely be back!
Natalie H — Google review
What a brilliant experience and way to spend a few hours! We hired 2 single kayaks, 1 fairly experienced at basic level kayaking and 1 newbie and we had a ball on this stretch of the river Severn thanks to the teams’ fantastic organisation and prep advice. It was all really easy due to the minibus transit to the start where you have the briefing and you kayak back to your car. This stretch of rover is a great mix of fun faster moving parts and serene parts where we could float the kayaks together and eat our lunch. Dry bags are provided so you can take food, drink and a phone with you. They give 4 hours which is loads of time even for first timers and gave us lots of opportunities to drift whilst we chatted or took in the scenery and this stretch is very beautiful.
Amy J — Google review
A great experience for all age groups. Well organised and supervised. Distance approx 7miles( if you go straight) through lovely settings. Definitely recommend. We'll be going again.
John C — Google review
Absolutely amazing experience. So worth it.. its not experience, everything's clean. You get a life jacket paddle information pack (tell you where to go even though you cant go wrong) a wet bag for all your bits and your canoe. A pep talk at the start and left to enjoy. If you need help there only on the end of the phone. Lovely people so friendly and made the experience that little bit more fun. You have some lovely views on your way down you can go at your own pace. We just strolled taking our time taking it all in and enjoying the views. Definitely worth doing.

We were met promptly by Sharon who drove us to our starting point where we met Nigel who explained everything in detail and off we set! The trip was peaceful and beautiful. Highly recommend! Excellent staff and fairly priced.

A great late morning/early afternoon trip. A well organised company! Everything went efficiently from the initial meeting point, through to safety instructions and pick up at the end. We hired a canoe for two and enjoyed our leisurely trip down the River Severn, helped along with the nice weather! Saw a Kingfisher and a pair of Great Crested Grebes.

Brilliant - extremely well organised and run by wonderfully friendly people. They really do go above and beyond to make it a pleasurable, stress-free experience. Hired a 2 person canoe with no previous experience. They take you in a mini bus from the car park to the start point and give you useful information delivered in a fun way, as well as a card with helpful suggestions while you are on route. Provide jackets and dry bag, they help you into the boat on the water and off you go!

Sunnycroft, located in Wellington, Shropshire, is a charming Victorian mini-estate under the care of the National Trust. This suburban villa and 5-acre garden offer visitors a glimpse into the life of a brewer's family across three generations. The property remains largely untouched over time, providing an authentic experience of a bygone era. While some areas are currently undergoing maintenance, there is still much to explore and appreciate.
Lovely 'small' home for the National Trust, but lots of interesting information and treasures throughout! The docents/ guides were great and even though it's 'only' 5 acres, there are many places to explore! The grounds do get muddy on very wet days and there is no cafe/ tea room or gift shop. It was a wonderful visit anyway!

Fascinating glimpse into a private home from the early twentieth century. The guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic giving interesting details into all aspects of the house and it's inhabitants.
Jan S — Google review
This house is wonderful. Even the approach via the drive is amazing. Everything in the house is worth looking at. NT have done a great job preserving the property. It is like stepping back in time and it is as if you're waiting for the owners to return. We had a guided tour which was enjoyable and informative. The history of the residents was very interesting, especially the achievements of the last person to live there. Her artistic ability was amazing. This is one place that should be seen.
Susan M — Google review
Sunnycroft is a hidden gem at the foot of the Wrekin. A Victorian house with subsequent strong female ownership, it is a home that has been lived in and enjoyed. Donated to the National Trust in 1997, there is so much to see and learn. House entrance with a very informative tour needs to be pre-booked, so plan your visit in advance (Sunnycroft has limited opening). Parking is available on site and whilst there is no cafe, light refreshments are available in the 'tuck shop' - make your own tea or coffee and leave a donation. The gardens are intimate and well worth exploring. A small team run Sunnycroft and their enthusiasm and dedication is clear to see.

What a gem of a place, made even better as free to visit, apart from a £2 parking charge. Spent a good hour here, even though it was a grey day with slight rain falling. Shame the lodge buildings are privately owned, so cannot be seen, but otherwise I enjoyed this. There are picnic tables and a boom shop, with information boards around the ruins. So peaceful. Remains of a Norman monastery, well worth a visit if you’re in the area. English heritage maintained but was open for all and free when we visited.

Large cathedral ruins, green surroundings. Not alot to do, but a site to be seen on on way to iron bridge and the Severn. Probably of greater interest to history buffs and English heritage students and conservators.

Exotic Zoo Wildlife Park, located in Telford, is a community-driven and family-led zoo that prioritizes sustainability, education, and conservation. Despite being smaller than commercialized zoos, it offers a unique experience where visitors can get up close to the animals. The park features various zones such as Desert Zone, Rainforest Zone, Nocturnal Area, and a petting farm.
Our first time visiting the Exotic Zoo, and it was wonderful! It was nice and quiet during the week, and we were able to see everything the zoo has to offer. We had pre-booked an Armadillo Experience, and staff member Simon was such a lovely and knowledgeable host for us - thank you! We also had lunch at the Jungle Cafe with great customer service. We would definitely visit again! 🐾

Such a lovely hidden gem of a zoo! We came here as I booked an armadillo encounter for my boyfriend’s birthday a couple months ago, and it didn’t disappoint. With purchase of the encounter, you also get entry to the zoo. They had loads of animals, and some I haven’t seen at any other UK zoos before like skunks and maras. As soon as you enter you have a capybara and call duck exhibit and a sea otter exhibit. The sea otters were adorable, I’m a bit biased though as they’re one of my favourite animals! They were very vocal with loads of little squeaks. We looked around for about an hour, and even got to go into the rabbit enclosure and feed them some veggies while getting strokes in. You can also buy some farmyard food at entry to feed the wallabies, maras, goats and horses, which was so worth it to feed the adorable horse they have! We had our armadillo encounter with Kennedy and she was absolutely amazing. She was so knowledgable on the little “armoured dogs” hehe and she was so kind and friendly. We held one of the two 3 banded armadillos while he curled up, these were housed with some marmosets which loved playing with my phone and perching on our shoulders! We then fed and stroked/gave back scratches to the two girl 6 banded armadillos. Kennedy told us we got lucky as usually they were tired after they’d eaten and they would lie under their heat lamp, but they loved exploring around our feet and standing up on their hind legs to get a better view of us! Our experience was about 30 minutes and it was perfect, I couldn’t recommend it more! I already want to go back for their otter experience haha. Thank you Kennedy and the other lovely staff at the zoo, it was a memory my boyfriend and I won’t forget!

Armadillo Experience!! Yes, really. Great little zoo!! Had a brilliant 1:2:1 experience. Kennedy was the keeper who looked after us, she was excellent, really knowledgeable and passionate about the animals and had some very surprising information about the armadillos!! Great place, tucked away and basic but a really good experience. Would recommend and happily go back again.

Me and my girlfriend visited Exotic Zoo after purchasing a voucher for an armadillo experience. It was a lovely zoo with very welcoming staff including a lovely girl called kennedy who did our armadillo experience, she was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable and made sure we had a great experience. It was well worth the money for both the experience and the zoo itself. I would urge anyone to visit the zoo as it is a lovely experience and worth the very fair price that it costs.
Niall R — Google review
We loved our ‘Armadillo Experience for Two’ and meeting and learning all about the armadillos - both the three-banded and the six-banded! Melon, the three-banded one, is able to curl herself up into a ball and be held, and she looks so funny when she scurries across the floor on her tiptoes! The six-banded one was lovely and more than happy to be fed live mealworms by us. It was great seeing them up close and being given so much information about them - Kennedy really knows her stuff and exudes genuine enthusiasm and care for the creatures!

Thoroughly enjoyable day out. Animals look happy and well cared for. Would love for zoo to offer a year membership so I could return regularly. Absolutely recommend.

Such a lovely small zoo, we went to meet the armadillos and had the best time. Alex was brilliant and taught us so much and we had plenty of time to feed and meet the very cute armadillos. Highly recommend!!

Meerkat experience 🫶🏼 We absolutely love this little gem of a zoo. It has amazing value for money, the keepers and volunteers are so passionate and full of information about all the animals, and the hot chocolates are lush 😉 We gifted my son the meerkat experience for his birthday and we were not disappointed!! Again, great value for money, the meerkats were practically sitting on our hands 🥹. Kennedy (I hope I spelt her name right!!) was our keeper and she was SO lovely, she answered all our questions and told us so much about the meerkats, she was super down to earth too. (Thank you so much!!)

Felt sorry for the girl behind the information desk when an elderly gentleman asked for some information on something out of the area. She didn't know the answer, so she offered to google it for him, for which he said, "I could have done that myself", why didn't he? Poor girl. There's not much to see here. it looks like a half-hearted job. More entertaining in the car park.
John H — Google review
It’s free & it could be interesting, to a degree. The fact that it gets flooded frequently probably presents challenges insofar as what to do with the place & the space going forwards. It seems under-utilised, rooms are half empty. Why fill them extensively if the next flood isn’t far off though?
Toxteth G — Google review
Interesting use of the old building . With a collection of the Merrythought bears & soft toys. The late Sunday effluent release into the river was a spoiler to a great day

Lovely old building and quite a bit on the Merrythought Bear factory and local flooding, which was interesting, but not many actual exhibits...possibly due to the risk of flooding? Worth a look all the same.

Wenlock Priory, a medieval ruin nestled in a serene green area, offers visitors a glimpse into its rich history. The 13th-century church and the intricately carved Norman chapter house stand as testaments to the priory's former grandeur. As you explore the tranquil grounds, you'll encounter ornate stone carvings and remnants of the monks' living quarters, each narrating a part of the priory's story.
A gorgeous site in the small town of Much Wenlock. A nice big car park adjacent to the site and a small shop selling snacks, coffee (from a machine), cold drinks and ice creams etc. Quite a big site with lovely gardens to walk through. Fairly derelict but you can see the shape of the buildings. Shame you can't access the private area including the old infirmary. The audio tour is quite descriptive and light hearted in places, certainly worth listening to.
Brian M — Google review
Stepping into the ruins felt like traveling back in time, truly an experience! The architecture of the place was awe-inspiring, showcasing remarkable craftsmanship of a bygone era. It was interesting to walk around and imagine what life was like in the medieval period. I found myself completely immersed in the history and the stories the stones seemed to whisper. Overall, the visit to the location was a captivating and memorable experience.

An excellent English Heritage site. On arrival, the member of staff was friendly and welcoming. The priory and church itself are impressive, the decoration in the Chapter House is particularly well preserved and intricate. There are topiary animals in the Cloisters, including cats, an owl and a squirrel. Information boards provide a good level of detail, and an audio guide is available. I would recommend visiting.
Jaime R — Google review
Well preserved 800 year old priory ruins by English Heritage. I’m not sure it’s worth the £11 admission standalone, as able to see the few signs and ruins in about 15 minutes, but if an English Heritage member (or a particular interest in these ruins) could be worth it. Several signs throughout, and they also mentioned an available audio guide. Adequate toilets at the front, along with a small shop that also sells a couple snacks/drinks. Car park across the street.

We love our castle, Abbey and Priory ruins! Wenlock is a superb example of a Cluniac monastery. Parking (paid - £3) is nearby and easily accessible. Run by English Heritage the cost was £10 per person. Really a lovely example of a Priory.

Live locally so we have used the ski centre a few times for tots donuts and kids tobogganing over the years, especially over the school holidays when it is as little as a £1 a session. Today, we booked the adrenaline tubing which we haven't done before, and it was a brilliant laugh. Had a 2 for 1 Sunday deal and also had the slope to our self. Staff were friendly and informative and the hour session was brilliant, will definitely go again.

Rang up twice to ensure we could go skiing before we drove over as it’s a 1hr 45 minute drive there and back! The woman asked if we both had skiing experience, I said I did but my 30 year old partner didn’t but his been a skater his whole like so knows what to do, She ensured that was absolutely fine!!!!!!!!!! Arrived there 2 blokes basically laughed in our face and said no! I explained I had already spoken to someone about it and she assured me it’s okay! He then said all the information is on the website, although it does not actually say anywhere on the website that you can’t go on the slope without a lesson, and I rang up twice!!!!! Absolutely awful service!!!!! Will never return here!! Also the slop looks terrible it’s a blue run and super small!! Literally for little kids!!! So don’t get excited!!

Really helped me learn the basics of skiing, it's amazing seeing the transition between how confident I was at the start and at the end. One of the 2 hour sessions is just enough to go on a skiing holiday or just for a day out. And the price is definitely worth it

Bridge
Historical landmark
The Iron Bridge, constructed in 1779, stands as a remarkable symbol of Britain's industrial heritage. The project involved various stakeholders and partners, including Historic England and the local authority. Funding was provided by English Heritage and donors like the Hermann Reemtsma Foundation from Germany. This iconic bridge, located in Severn Gorge, revolutionized bridge construction with its single cast iron arch spanning 100 feet across the gorge.
See other review (Robin Hood pub), which covers this beautiful town in much more detail. I will travel back here one day and spend more time. Unfortunately, I was on my way home, having finished a week away, so I ran out of time. Beautiful place with beautiful people what's more to say. Go visit. I'm sure you'll fall in love with the place, I did.
Fred W — Google review
The Iron Bridge is seriously impressive, especially when you see it in person. It’s such an important landmark—the first of its kind—and you can really appreciate the engineering and history behind it. Walking across the bridge with the river below and the surrounding old industrial buildings gives you a real sense of stepping back in time. Plus, the nearby museums and trails make it a great spot to explore for a few hours. Definitely worth a visit!
K E — Google review
I love the area, so scenic and classic English feeling to the town. On this occasion I was passing and stopped for a drink and a sausage roll. Visited many times before, lots to see do and enjoy. Great for families.
Daniel S — Google review
Beautiful bridge with lovely views over the River Severn - free to see and walk across, and a prime spot in town. Built in 1779, it was the world’s first bridge made of cast iron and became a symbol of the Industrial Revolution. Be sure to pop into the small Tollhouse museum beside it for more insight into its fascinating history.
Becky T — Google review
Ironbridge is an absolutely beautiful place with the world's first iron bridge. We planned to stay here for two days, but we're going to stay for another, because there is so much to see and do. We bought a ticket to all of the Ironbridge museums. It's well worth the money, and the various museums give a wonderful insight into the industrial heritage of the area. If you don't want to pay for the museums, there are enough free museums and lovely shops and walks along the river, in woodlands and in the valleys and gorges.
Alison L — Google review
Fantastic landmark, well worth a visit. You can really feel the history of the place. The town is stunning as well, like something from a film. Incredible.

I remember having to learn about this bridge in GCSE Geography. So much more impressive to actually see it. I do like a good bridge, and this one was a masterpiece of technical wizardry. On top of this, the setting is very pretty. The town is a delight to work around, though pretty steep(!)

Took 2 children and 2 of their companions to Inflata Nation Telford, an enjoyable amusement center. The youngsters had a great time bouncing around in the inflatable park. The employees were excellent, displaying kindness and helpfulness. Unfortunately, one of the friends misplaced their watch during the jumping session but left their contact details with the staff in case it was found.
Great place for the kids, as we could tell by their very sweaty faces and massive smiles. Good fun, and a hard workout as well
Chris R — Google review
The cafe is bad and basically tastes like cheap instant coffee. I paid 6.50 for a cup of coffee and tea. A rip off. The play area is very loud with white noise but I guess it needs to be to keep the jumping area inflated. The play area itself is really cool, our 3 year old had a blast in the under 4s zone which was much bigger than we expected.
M G — Google review
The boys both 9 years old loved it. 1 hour was more than enough as they said they had completed it at the 45 min mark. Friendly young team who were helpful when ever needed. Great work team.
Leigh J — Google review
The kids loved it. They have a small arcade section and a section for the smaller kids in there to. Feel like there is a lot of wasted space but overall nice place.
YZF V — Google review
If I could give zero stars, I would. We had a truly disappointing experience here. The staff were shockingly rude — even the managers, who we spoke with directly, were dismissive and unprofessional. The way they handled things in front of our children was uncomfortable and frankly toxic. For a place that markets itself as family-friendly, it’s anything but — especially for families with more than one child of different ages. There’s a strict division between the under-4 and over-4 areas. If you have one child under 4 and others over 4, the younger one is left to play alone unless you pay £15 just to supervise them in the older section. Yes, £15 — simply to stand by your child. That policy is unreasonable and completely unfair to parents trying to keep their children together. What made the situation worse is that we saw several other parents in the over-4 area without paying and without being questioned — but somehow, we were singled out and told we had to pay. It was inconsistent and felt targeted. This experience ruined what should have been a fun family outing. I would strongly advise other families to think twice before coming here. Poor policies, poorly enforced, and staff in serious need of training.
Amy C — Google review
Great place but under 4s area was full of 8,9 and 11 year-old. No policing. We had an eleven month old and had to keep an eye on the older kids throwing balls and diving in the ball.
Sue W — Google review
Good place to take the children for a few hours. It is fairly expensive, however it's worth it for what you get. They've recently redeveloped the entire inflatable, with more ball pits and slides etc which makes it great fun. Staff were a little, for want of a better word, miserable. HOWEVER, we went on a bank holiday weekend so I don't blame them 🤣 Cafe wise they have a good selection of cold drinks, but aside from pizzas (that didn't look particularly appetising) and snacks such as crisps and biscuits, there isn't anything else to chose from so I'd advise bringing your own food or plan somewhere to eat afterwards as we did. Overall it's a great way to spend an afternoon, kids enjoyed it and were worn out afterwards.
Amy — Google review
It's ok. BUT we went on Saturday 14 June, and it was too hot inside, with no air conditioning. Bear in mind it was only about 21 degrees outside and I can only imagine how unpleasant it would be inside this venue on a hot summer's day.

Great place for children and toddlers. Good place for well organized parties for kids. My son loves this place.

Enjoyable soft play area. We took advantage of the BIG ticket with laser tag, golf and soft play all included. You get a two hour slot so best to find out the slots so you get the most out of your time. You can book ahead which is helpful, though for the big ticket we had to do this over the phone. All 3 activities were a lot of fun and one of the better soft play areas in the area, along with a few extra paid for arcade style games and things round the outside. The cafe is also reasonably priced on comparison to other soft play places which usually charge the earth! I did find the £2 charge for adults a little cheeky, especially as we were going to order food and drink anyway. The salad was beautiful, I've paid a lot more for a salad like this in fancy eateries and got a lot less!
Esta-Jane M — Google review
Came here for a kids party recently so didn't have to pay (bonus!). It was bizarrely quiet for a Saturday morning (10am ish), so loads of space to sit down and have a coffee - which was lovely from the cafe and not too expensive. The soft play area itself is, in my opinion, quite small for the size of the building, but I suppose it feels quite big for a 5 year old. The girl that looked after the kids party did a really good job. My only criticism, which really should actually apply to the parents and not the staff, was that a lot of children were trying to walk "up" the slide and nobody was stopping this, which eventually will lead to injury.
John P — Google review
Always love taking the kids to jungleland. Fantastic value for money, decent food served that isn't super expensive, and the kids always have a fantastic time. Have booked several parties here over the years, both exclusive hire and normal parties, and have always been really impressed by both price and what you get for your money. Would absolutely recommend to anybody wanting either to take the kids for a couple of hours of fun, or wanting to book a birthday party for their kids.
Elizabeth B — Google review
A well run and large soft play. There are three different soft play areas for different ages. On occasion, there are issues with older children in the toddler areas, but staff are responsive if you ask them to move the children out. The cafe is fine. I recommend the finger food platter for toddlers. The train ride is also a lovely addition and really helps lift Jungleland above the standard of some other local softplays.
James E — Google review
Pretty average children play area. Could do with being a bit cleaner. Babies area could do with more things for youngsters to do especially since the ball pit areas have been emptied. Sensory room is good for babies, toddlers and children with SEN needs.

Friendly staff, clean facilities, reasonably priced. My son is getting too tall for .any soft plays despite only being 9, so I'm grateful there is still one locally we can attend.

We love coming here regularly with our little one. He loves it and asks us to come to soft play weekly. The pay per rides aren't the best (a bit worse for wear, and some are dirty), but the actual soft play is great, and the food and drinks are well priced, too.

Excellent value, always clean and tidy. Staff friendly and helpful. We have the membership so we come 2-3 times a week. The after school sessions are fantastic with food and unlimited squash, also tires the kids out so they are ready for bed soon as we are home! It can be busy at times, but sometimes it is quiet bit that's to be expected The only disadvantage is parking so sometimes have you will have to park on road, although it's a fair sized car park it fills up pretty quick, but there is plenty of street parking available.

I held a 9th birthday party at Airea51. From an organisational view everything was great. It was easy to book online and pay a deposit. A week before the party I was sent an invoice for the remaining balance. I phoned to amend the number of guests and the revised invoice was sent out to me before I'd even hung up the phone. I had originally booked for 10 children as advised but we had 19 due to arrive. There was no issues with this big jump in numbers. We were also sent a form to fill in with all of the guests names and food orders so that waivers could be checked promptly. When we arrived we were introduced to our party host and there were socks and name bands ready in our party room. The room was spacious and had Airea51 themed artwork on the walls which made a good background for a group photo. After an hour of bouncing, the food arrived promptly and all of the orders were correct. The host dealt with our cake and even located the random song my child asked to be played in the room. The kids had a great time and I would definitely book another party here. The reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is that it was very hot even just as a spectator. Some of the kids were dripping with sweat and some AC would be appreciated. The chips were also overcooked. An important note is that you have to pay the full balance before the party. If you have any guests that don't turn up on the day you will still have paid for them and at a minimum cost of £20 per child be careful who you invite!

We went to the under 5 session from 10am until 11am. It was great value for money at only £9.50 for one adult and child. You could then stay after 11am until 1pm if you wanted to, when the older children were around. Our 3 year old daughter and my partner had a great time. I would have loved to join in to but had not long had a baby. It would have cost I believe £5 more for me. However I was allowed to observe and they didn't charge me anything. I sat upstairs in the café after 10mins and watched from above. They have a wide selection of food and drinks available at reasonable prices. Hotdogs were £3.50. They had a small soft play area upstairs just off the café for under 5s also. Free to go on. The only thing that let it down was how hot it was! I was sweating and I wasn't jumping up and down. My daughter was very warm and kept needing to stop what she was doing to have a drink. Was too uncomfortable and for such a place, you would like to think they could put some air con on.

AIRea 51 is a trampolining experience and I was very impressed with the range of equipment and for me the safety of use of same. The age range covered equipment for the very young to adults. The very young had their own little area that was to one side of the general equipment. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. On a mezzanine floor that provided an excellent viewing area also housed a cafe serving drinks and via an Internet link meals could be ordered. The toilets were clean. There was plentiful car parking available. At the time of visiting, charges of £10 for 2 hours per individual was the admission. A really good entertainment.

Nestled away from the chaos of urban life, Benthall Hall offers a serene escape into its beautifully curated gardens. Here, visitors can wander through vibrant blooms and stunning landscapes that showcase the perfect harmony between nature and human creativity. The hall itself is steeped in fascinating history, with ties to the English Civil War and even Dame Judi Dench! Knowledgeable guides share intriguing stories about the hall's past, including details about its striking white walls and staircase.
This is only a small property, but worth a visit. As you head to the hall, you have to cut through the churchyard. Do go in, as it is nice The hall itself has a lovely collection. The guides are knowledgeable and ready to chat. Downside, limited photography. No photography upstairs due to many of the items belonging to the family. There is no gift shop either. They have the guide books on sale.

Visited Benthall Hall with family (three adults) two days ago, and it was a delightful outing for anyone who enjoys historic buildings. This National Trust property may not be large, but it’s packed with character and history. The house itself is fascinating, with unique features like the quirky three-legged chairs and striking tiled floor in the dining room. The volunteer guides were a highlight. Friendly, enthusiastic and brimming with fascinating stories about the hall’s past, including its Civil War connections. The gardens are pleasant and well-maintained, perfect for a leisurely stroll. The small attached church is also worth a peek, steeped in history. We spent about two hours exploring, which felt just right. Ample parking and a coffee van were convenient, though we couldn’t find any toilets. Overall, I’d recommend Benthall Hall to history buffs or anyone looking for a charming, low-key visit. A lovely way to spend an afternoon.

A little hidden gem, away from the hustle & bustle of life. One of the smaller NHS properties & surrounding grounds, but no less impressive. The gardens were full of autumn colour & the orchard & vegetable area were the perfect place to enjoy a sun dappled lunch. The house is worth a nose around, with most of the rooms open for viewing & very knowledgeable volunteer guides in each room. There is a small bookshop beside the church & tea & cake can be purchased from a kiosk in the car park.
Dyan R — Google review
Nice National Trust property with a small church, approx. 8 interior rooms, gardens and walks. There is not a lot to see in the church, and the house is decent - with a more historical feel on the ground floor and decor from the mid-20th century upstairs. There are signs/books in each room with more info and lovely volunteers onsite, and we felt we saw it in about 15 minutes. The grounds were beautiful - with lovely flowers still blooming in mid-October, and nice walks past sheep nearby. Small single toilet around the back, and coffee cart in the car park.
Becky T — Google review
I visited on Sunday 20th of July after not having called in for a number of years. A lovely place, set in beautiful grounds. The gardens are looking lovely and are much bigger and more extensive than I remember them. Very welcoming staff too. Car parking is close by, there are toilets in the grounds. There is a refreshment kiosk in the car park.

This is a bit of a hidden gem near the famous Ironbridge. The house is not a huge edifice like many of the NT sites, but it is very appealing with its gabled roof and two storey bay windows. Inside there is plenty to see and the staff have some great tales to tell about the history of the building and its contents. Lots of interesting period furniture particularly downstairs. Outside you can wander in the gardens, there are also two longer walks taking about an hour and a half. There is a tea hut for refreshments which was fine with outdoor seating. As we were there mid October we sat in the car. Lastly the 17th century church is worth a look and there's a small second hand bookshop as expected. All in all a good day out.
Andy H — Google review
Interesting property that's manageable in an afternoon with options for a stroll along footpaths on the estate if time allows. Craft fair held by the volunteers inside the historic church. But in particular many thanks to Barbara and Pam for being such brilliant guides.

Encouraged by NT new promotion to visit different places with the dog we went for a walk at Benthall hall. Sadly much of the area is off limits for our furry so we couldn't take a closer look at the house. However there is a woodland walk which little Ru seemed to enjoy although I thought it a little dull as walks go. Parking is free for members so don't forget your trust card and the man on the carpark was incredibly helpful. Anyway we're one step closer to the coverted bag of dog treats and tag!

Tenpin Telford is a clean, well-maintained bowling alley with screens to segregate each lane. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the food is good. The slushies are always a hit!
What a great place. Bought tickets in advance as it’s so much cheaper (£12 junior deal with food) for two rather than buying a game there and then as it’d be £14.95. Arcade was fun, food was excellent and was delivered to the lane’s table, and had no problems whatsoever. Overall an amazing day, highly recommend to all!

This was a superb venue for bowling, with a large counter ran by friendly staff who checked us in for our booking right away! They were kind enough to allow us to wait longer when my friend went outside and plenty of bowls are available for games, blue design across is stylish. The pins lit up purple is a nice ending touch, scoreboards are really good too!

Booked out karaoke, had the best time! Noticed half way through the microphones weren’t working. Staff (oscar) went above and beyond to try and fix this for us. He was a massive help! Even though it couldn’t be fixed we were all still very pleased with our time there and were offered a free half an hour to make up for the microphones not working
Kaci C — Google review
Tried to come in tonight and security stopped me because I had an unopened can of pop with me. I said it wasn't open and I was happy not to open it. Me and my partner were planning on buying food and drink anyway. I was told I wasn't allowed in if I didn't have a bag to put it in. I get not allowing outside drinks into places but losing business over me not having a bag to put my drink in is a little silly. Ruined mine and my partners night. Luckily I didn't pre book anything.

Not great. Sunday evening offers were obviously void on a bank holiday so very few people bowling. Would have had a couple of games but no offers. Had to book the bowling in front of staff using the app to get the best deal which is ridiculous. Ordered drinks via the app but they never turned up as short staffed - promised refund which we supposedly take 3-5 days. Wouldn’t recommend unless you have an offer.

If you want to end up injured tenpin Telford for you they have management that don't take health and safety seriously a technician that leaves oil on the apprcoches and people slip like my self bowled In the league and fell three times and still nothing done I advised avoid tenpin Telford for bowling everything else is good but till new management team is appointed and new technicians then don't bother if u wanna risk a fall and injurys

The Wrekin is a majestic mountain offering stunning views of the Shropshire hills and up to 17 counties on a clear day. It's steep climb is well worth it, with folklore suggesting it was created by a giant. There are options for parking, including a paid car park with card payment and free roadside parking. The two-mile hike to the top rewards visitors with breathtaking scenery.
Great walk! Easy ascent from the car park (in my opinion) Great views up top, some rocks to clamber over of you fancy. Path down other side trickier, a few loose rocks to be careful of :)
Robert — Google review
Absolutely amazing place with stunning view of 17 counties. If you lucky enough to climb the summit in a good weather you can see absolutely stunning view. And so many places to enjoy the view away from the crowd which can be at the top. Mid way down you can pop to the shop and have some nice drink and ice cream. It is a bit of a push to your calves on the way up and quads on the way down, especially mid way through the climb. But it’s very straight forward hike.

Great location for a quick getaway out from Birmingham City after work. Beautiful sunrise and sunset landscapes, clean and fresh air, great for photographers, cyclists and walking in general. Recomandation is to have a bin bag for your rubbish, entry level boots will do the work, 1-2 litters of water, some protein and energy bar and enjoy the views 🤩
The W — Google review
The best place to train both body and mind. Loads of hiking and cycling trails around the hill. You can take it easy — or push hard and run out of breath real quick. Your choice. Just don’t give up.

OMG This place was amazing, abit of a moderate to hard walk with some sheepish parts and abit hard under foot but my god is it worth it when you get to the top, Stunning 365° views, could see for miles, was so beautiful.

TIVOLI Cinemas in Cheltenham offers a unique and charming experience, blending contemporary and classic elements. The cinema provides a cozy neighborhood feel with its comfortable seating, friendly and helpful staff, and art deco setting that takes you back in time. Visitors can enjoy watching films on super comfy chaises while savoring delicious food in the calming atmosphere of the restaurant. This hidden gem in Regent Arcade is definitely worth a visit for an exceptional cinema experience.
We had such a great experience at Tivoli, the beautiful cinema tucked away in the basement of Regent Arcade. The aesthetic is absolutely stunning classy, cosy, and fits right in regency Cheltenham. We recently bought a membership and are so glad we did; the comfort and atmosphere are miles ahead of a regular cinema. What really stood out, though, was the service. I forgot to use my membership discount when booking, but the staff were incredibly kind and went out of their way to fix it without any fuss. It was a small thing, but the way they handled it really showed their attention to detail and commitment to great customer care. We’ll definitely be coming back our date night here was perfect. Highly recommended!
Samuel B — Google review
Turned up to the cinema Saturday night to a very empty bar area. Told that we have the screen to ourselves and to sit in any seat we liked. We got into the screen and to my wife’s shock every table had empty bottles and rubbish just left and not cleared away. I informed the desk that we had to make space for our own drinks. To the managers credit he was very apologetic but as a customer I didn’t really need excuses as to why it had happened. Annoyingly when we arrived the empty bar had 3 members of staff just stood around chatting. The room was cleared in 2 minutes so not sure how this was missed. We did get a refund for the tickets but honestly we probably won’t be going back.

9/10. We stopped here for lunch rather than the cinema as we were just visiting the town and were hungry. We got the smashed burger and two of the kids meals and we were very pleasantly surprised. The place had a calm and quiet atmosphere and the food was delicious. My only gripe was that the size of the chips were too small. Both the portion and the actual size of the chips. For £14 a slightly bigger portion would have been appreciated and the chips were so small they were a struggle to pick up and dip them in sauce. Friendly staff. Would go again.
Adam B — Google review
A great luxury cinema experience. Located in the basement with lift access. A very nicely furnished bar and lounge for you to wait, have a drink or something to eat while the screen is prepared. The theatre itself is not huge and we had a luxury velvet sofa with plump cushions. The staff were excellent, always helpful and polite. We had dinner - the food was great - after the movie and enjoyed the ambience of the lounge.

A gem of a cinema in the centre of Cheltenham with friendly and professional service. My daughter and I watched Weapons and enjoyed the film and the cinema greatly. Sumptuous comfortable sofas, beautifully clean and tidy, delicious food, great range of drinks. Massive thank you to Darcy who was fantastic and took care of us so well this evening.

Today we visited for the first time and can’t wait to go back. The staff were so polite, friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The snacks we ordered were all fresh and cooked to perfection and brought to us. Although it’s slightly alittle more than your nearby cinema we felt the whole experience was worth the extra fee pounds.

Hollywood Bowl Cheltenham is a modern bowling chain located in The Brewery Quarter. It features a bar/diner, arcade games, and a dedicated games area. The venue offers a fun atmosphere for families and groups, with options for pre-booking online to secure a good deal. Despite being busy at times, the staff are efficient in managing the crowds. In addition to bowling, there are arcade games and pool tables available for entertainment while waiting.
This was a flashy venue for entertainment, which is shown throughout with the fancy design! Decorations like the Hollywood bowl star, glorious lights and mock-up car help set this scene, pool was really cheap as well as fun. The games were a proper variety, including Mario and Space Invaders!

On Sunday morning, I decided on the spur of the moment to take my two children bowling as we were already shopping in town. We were charged more than £56 for two games! While I appreciate that it can be cheaper to book online (we could have done this for approx. £36 if I had booked beforehand), I now feel more than slightly ripped off. Less than half of the lanes were in use, so there shouldn't really have been much of a premium charged for a 'walk up' booking. I won't be going back anytime soon!

Telford Theatre is a modern playhouse that offers a variety of entertainment, including popular music, comedy, family shows, ballet, and pantomime. It's a great place to unwind and enjoy quality time with loved ones. The theater hosts a range of performances from comedies to dramas and pantomimes, ensuring there's always something new to watch. Visitors praise the friendly staff and clean facilities at this decently sized venue with good acoustics.
Went to see panto yesterday and I was blown away by it. I have been to numerous pantomimes with what are described as big stars in them that cost a fortune and I can honestly say this was by far one of the best I have seen the cast were just brilliant and the costumes were just wow. I just hope we do not meet anybody called Carl for awhile when I have my grandson with me ha! Ha! Thank you all so much for your hard work and I most certainly will be back next year. I thought the venue was brilliant too with plenty of parking.

Oakengates Leisure Centre offers a variety of facilities for exercise and relaxation. The gym is well-equipped for full-body training, while the swimming pool provides excellent learning opportunities with classes catering to all ages and skill levels. The presence of qualified instructors and vigilant lifeguards ensures a safe and enjoyable experience. Although some visitors have raised concerns about the cleanliness of the health suite, management promptly addressed these issues by closing it down for a deep clean.
Went for a public swim on a Saturday, it was quite busy but still managed to get some widths in It's not the biggest pool but big enough

Oakengates Leisure Centre is an excellent place and means of enjoying exercise. There are excellent swimming facilities, the pool being first class to learn to swim. The classes available to learn to swim cater for all ages and levels of capability. Each class is run by a qualified instructor and the thing that really impressed was the fact that a lifeguard was continually patrolling the baths. The swimming lessons are usually 30 minutes duration. For parents bringing children to learn to swim there is a viewing gaiiery around two sides of the pool with seating with excellent views of the pool. There is also a separate sports hall where badminton, basketball and netball are available at relevant times and days. The viewing gallery also is available for the sports hall. There is available an exercise facility available under the name of Aspirations, with all of the exercise machines that make up a first class gym. In the foyer there are coffee and soft drink machines.

Been swimming here for many years, but after the so called refit the showers were still filthy with small black flies all over the walls . I've reported twice, but still the cleanliness is not great. Many locker are broken along with locks on shower doors. I do blame the schools that use these premises and beleive all schools need there own pools or share other schools and leave these for the community of Telford.
Jackie S — Google review
I was looking forward to my first visit to this centre. And the pool was excellent. All went well until I came to showering after swim. There was no shower with a seat as at. Newport so as a disabled swimmer. I had to use the disabled changing room. The toilet was dirty Architrave off round the door meaning that it was not possible to clean properly. The shower was a trickle Whilst there was a great seat under shower however I had to sit on the bed to get dressed The room was generally dirty. Now I appreciate it’s not possible to clean after every use, but it does need to be of a suitable level of cleanliness. Some disabled swimmers might have immune issues where cleanliness keeps them safe. I am of the opinion that “ it’s only the disability room it’s ok “. It’s like it was forgotten when the rest of the changing rooms were upgraded. One small gripe when someone is paying by card how about adding the cost of a locker token. I pointed out that I was first time user and presumed that like Newport where I was told I’d need a 20p for locker. I didn’t have any cash and they gave me a spare one. I will return one on next visit I was not expecting to need a token , I then went back to front desk where I was pointed to a machine. I had to use my card for 25p which is wasteful. Anyway I’m sounding ungrateful the pool was actually very good easy access and clean
Tracy C — Google review
It’s okay. It’s a primitive in the sense that they have no new equipment and the smith machine has been broken for I believe over a week now. I would love for this gym to have foam blocks or a hyperextension machine. It’s missing the little things. As a gym, they advise no feet on the bench, yet provide no equipment to use to do Bulgarian split squats with. One thing I way so though is that their staff are so lovely and kind. I had an issue with the drinks machine once and they sorted the situation right away. I really love the staff but the equipment definitely needs looking into. All in all, Good for newbies ❤️
Stacey M — Google review
Real lack of facilities for visitors, attended to watch the American Football and there was no food, drink (vending machine only) available. Out in the open, no shade, how no-one was seriously injured amazes me because they were constantly filling in divots/holes. Needs to better maintained, it was dangerous to play on.
