Space Center Houston is an incredible place, one of those spots that makes you feel both small and inspired at the same time. The exhibits are fascinating and full of real artifacts from NASA’s missions, not just replicas. You can see actual spacecraft, touch a piece of the moon, and learn about everything from early Apollo missions to the latest space innovations. The tram tour is a must, it takes you to NASA’s Johnson Space Center, where you can see real astronaut training areas and mission control. It feels surreal to stand where history happened. The staff and guides are passionate and full of knowledge, always happy to answer questions and share fun facts. Everything is well organized, clean, and family-friendly. Whether you’re into science, history, or just curious about space, it’s a place that pulls you in and keeps you amazed. Plan to spend a few hours, there’s so much to explore and every part is worth it.

Great place for all ages. It has a ton of fun things to do, including off-site fun like rocket park and the astronaut training facility. The tram tours were nice. The mission:sketch was really cool, and the robots were nice too. There were so many fun things to do and see. The space simulators were really cool, fun, and educational. The cafeteria food was not as bad as I expected, and it was preety good. The skittles machine is super cool, I recommend it.

Located an hours drive from Houston downtown. Entry is. $40USD per adult to get in. There is alot to see and explore. The history is covered well and a number or films to watch to get assistance to understand NASA’s space program. The outside there are many cool displays ro walk and see. You need to really give your self 4 hours to see everything. Worth the visit.

Amazing day out… Last December we spent a whole day at NASA’s Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center with our friends. We reserved our timeslot online. This place serves as an inspiration and educational resources for all ages to learn about past and future space missions. The exhibits, NASA tram tour, historic sites like the Independence Plaza and Rocket Park are praiseful. We appreciate seeing the real artifacts, including spacesuits, spacecraft, and lunar samples. We also tried the motion simulator ride which has an additional fee and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The food court is clean and provides a selection of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. We also found our ideal NASA souvenir from their gift shop. Although we couldn’t secure a spot for the Historic Mission Control tour due to its limited availability, we would certainly return to take this tour.

So my travel goal has been to go to every Space Center in the US. So far, I've been to here and the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. This Space Center is awesome and it was a really enjoyable experience. Tickets here are surprisingly reasonable in price. Actually, all the pricing was really solid even for being a major attraction. I really enjoyed that they had a bunch of different tours inside as well as a bunch of films to watch. I was bummed that mission control was under construction when I was there, but I still got to see the bulk of the space center in the day I was there. I feel like you would need at least 5 hours to see most of the space center, but I feel like at least 2 days would be best. I highly recommend it; it's definitely worth seeing if you're in Houston and want to explore outside the city.

Always an amazing place and always has something new to see. This is a must see if you're in the Houston area. Go on all the free tours and if you have time go on to paid tours as well. Everyone that works there are very helpful. Go ahead and get the picture package cuz it is so worth it compared to other places that you go. Of course the gift shop can be very expensive but you can find a couple of little cheap items like magnets and keychains that you would like.

The museum isn’t extremely large, but it’s packed with fascinating exhibits and offers a very fulfilling experience. The interactive sections are well designed and engaging, making it enjoyable for visitors of all ages.The mummy exhibit was especially impressive both educational and visually striking. I also loved the sections about space, ocean life, and dinosaurs; each one was full of detail and excitement. The video presentations and multimedia displays were excellent as well, adding great depth to the overall experience.Overall, it’s a wonderfully curated museum that combines science, history, and creativity in a very inspiring way. Definitely worth a visit!

The Houston Museum of Natural Science is truly worth a visit! Specially for kids but equally enjoyable for adults. The museum itself has four floors each packed with fascinating exhibits. On the first floor I loved the chemistry section and especially the amazing dinosaur skeletons and fossils some over 170 million years old! The second floor is dedicated to gems, sparkling with incredible collections. The third floor is absolutely marvelous with the Mummies and Ancient Egypt culture really interesting and full of history. Right next to it you’ll also find exhibits on the history of America. The top floor explains everything about crude oil extraction procedures in detail which was very educational. If you are someone who loves going deep into information this museum can easily take a whole day to explore properly. As I know, it’s also one of the most visited museums in the USA and I can clearly see why. Highly recommended for families, students or anyone who loves history, science and culture.

I’m a member of the Houston Museum of Natural Science and usually love visiting, it’s one of my favorite places in the city. The permanent exhibits are always fascinating, well-maintained, and beautifully presented. The Hall of Paleontology and the “Death by Natural Causes” exhibition (I think that’s what it’s called) are absolutely amazing, educational, creative, and worth every visit. However, the current Extreme Animals Alive expo was really disappointing. I was expecting something exciting, with live exotic animals and interactive experiences, but most of what’s on display are taxidermy specimens or models. There were very few live animals, and nothing that could really be described as “extreme.” For the price of the special ticket, which is quite high even with a membership discount, it honestly feels like a waste of money. Some areas of the museum were also closed today, which made the experience feel a bit incomplete. That said, the museum staff is always kind and helpful, and there’s still so much to see and enjoy in the main halls. I’ll definitely keep visiting because the museum itself is fantastic, just hoping future special exhibits live up to the title and the cost.

Today was my first time attending the Houston Museum of Natural Science and I was so highly impressed! I must return. I chaperoned for a field trip so the timing was very tight but we got to see and do so much. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone but go and take your little ones they will love all the interactive experiences. Make the trip fun but adding a scavenger hunt for specific things. This helps so much with observation. The kids and everyone had a blast I would love to return. The staff was superior and very informative if needed.

Amazing museum. In many ways it's the best I've been to and even surpasses the Smithsonian. If you have the opportunity to meet Mr. Dan in the paleontology exhibits, allow him to give you an u forgettable tour of the fossils and exhibits. He's truly amazing and engaging and he exudes passion for what he does. He made my visit truly amazing and I loved hearing his dad jokes and learning so much from him. It was truly a joy to visit this museum and be able to experience such hospitality. Thank you Mr. Dan and everyone at the museum.

Amazing museum with outstanding displays and plenty of interactive exhibits that really make learning fun. It’s a fantastic place to take the kids — there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The palaeontology section is my personal favourite — absolutely world-class and packed with fascinating fossils. The on-site food is okay for a quick bite when you’re hungry, but the real highlight is definitely the exhibits. Highly recommend taking your time to explore it all!

Very impressed by the quality of collections and presentation. Went there twice during our stay! Plenty of interactive displays kept my son interested. Loved the top floor covering oil exploration and the alchemy section.

This zoo is so nice! There is a ton of shade on the walkways, and the exhibits for the animals were pretty spacious compared to other zoos. They had drainage issues in the aquatic area when we went this past weekend so the penguin exhibit was closed unfortunately. The capybaras were definitely the highlight for me. You do need to purchase your tickets online prior.

It's a fairly decent sized zoo, there always seems to be something they're updating & maintaining. The staff is friendly & informative, there's several shady areas that help with super hot & humid days. It's not our family favorite zoo, but it is the closest and therefore we do visit several times a year. We still have not been in the children's area, so no feedback on that, but there does seem to be quite a lot under construction at this time of year. A big plus is all the beautiful landscaping which is well maintained & there always seems to be something in bloom.

Very calm and a nice place to visit with families. The zoo was maintained at all times, the food was also good inside. The lemonade was so good and it was so much compared to other portion sizes. I would always come back here for a good family time for sure.

I took my baby girl to the Houston Zoo for her 1st birthday along with her 2.5 year old cousin. Both of them had a great time and were engaged as we went through each exhibit. We went on October 13th, which was Columbus Day (on a Monday) and it wasn't over crowded inside of the Zoo. We were able to comfortably see all of the animals in each area... including the gorilla's which was where we saw the biggest group of Zoo goers. Our visit was during the Halloween season, so there was a lot of awesome decor, however we noticed that hardly any kiddos were dressed in costumes. It was still early October, so that could be why. Some suggestions would be to pack and bring your own snacks, especially if visiting with kiddos. The food and snacks there are grossly overpriced. They allow small coolers so next time we go we'll pack sandwiches, juices, and cold snacks. Also, the parking was atrocious and a bit aggressive so be prepared for that. You may circle the parking lots for a while before lucking up on a leaving family (then you my have to do the whole "I was here 1st" thing when other cars when you do.) Horrible. Overall though, we enjoyed ourselves and will definitely come back (probably on a random weekday to avoid the whole parking thing).

This was a great zoo that was easy to get around and lots of shade for hot days. The kids really enjoyed petting the goats. The park was really clean and great directions. I highly recommend it.

Good zoo. Very, very busy on a November weekend. The sea lions are always my favorite, but the elephants were very fun to watch as well. The animals looked to be low-stress for being in captivity. I actually wished there was more signage talking about the specific animals, and that they have pronunciation guides. I think most signs were in both English and Spanish. Very large zoo with lots of different ways to view the animals. I wish there were more keepers/interns/volunteers educating about the animals or available for questions.

It was such a great experience! We usually don’t go to Zoos but it was fun and nice to see different type of animals that close. Also, at the beginning there is a guy who take nice photos you might try! Little elephant was my favorite.

Fall festival was super fun! A bunch of photo ops and fun for the whole family. If you know Houston heat be prepared I would suggest bringing you a water bottle or cup drinks are $6 totally not worth it. Snow cone was good and refreshing. They do have a few food trucks I didn’t try any but had ok options. Enjoyed all the set ups and would go back again.

Beautiful Garden and play ground for kids, and area to host outdoor events and festivals. IGBO FEST is hosted annually here, and it is Amazing! Lot's of colorful displays, masquerade, delicious 😋 delicacies of African cuisine, African attires and cultural dance 💃🏿

It’s such a beautiful and relaxing spot right in the middle of the city. The park is always clean, well-kept, and full of life, there’s always something going on, whether it’s a live concert, art installation, outdoor yoga, or a community event. It’s a great place for families, couples, or anyone who just wants to unwind outdoors. The playground area is perfect for kids, and during the warmer months, the splash pad is a huge hit. My kids absolutely love running through the water while I relax nearby. There’s also a small lake where you can rent paddle boats, which is a fun activity if you’re looking to do something different. The wide open lawns are great for picnics, and there are plenty of shaded spots if you just want to sit and enjoy the view. The only real downside is the traffic and parking situation. Do not go during rush hour, or you’ll find yourself stuck in traffic and circling for a parking spot for what feels like forever. I spent almost 30 minutes once just trying to find a place to park. It’s definitely worth visiting, but plan your trip for earlier in the day or later in the evening when things calm down a bit. Other than that, Discovery Green is a gem in the heart of Houston. It’s lively, scenic, and full of things to do for all ages. Whether you’re going for a walk, a picnic, or just to people-watch, it’s a great way to enjoy a bit of nature without leaving the city

Nice green park beside downtown gives fresh breathing. The park has a splash pad for kids, lot of green space to relax and water for boating. This park also used to have social events, music and yoga sessions. Good place to relax.

Love discovery green! Great place for families . To sit down and have a picnic . Great restaurants around at walking distance including in the park . Clean bathrooms . Park is very clean over all, you always see someone cleaning up . Love when they do events . Plenty of space for it . There’s canoeing & bumper boats at the moment . Always good to check out what’s going on for the weekend . Great events for the little ones early in the day .

I went to celebrate my birthday and it was beautiful. Great place for pics. I went at night during the pumpkin festival. But the park looks amazing. Plan on taking my kids soon!!!!!

It was good open access during the Korean Festival. We got to sample a few different products. It was just hot, so if there were cooling stations or more shaded areas, it would be 5 stars.

Perfect escape from the heat, with cool sights, education, and a nostalgic fun atmosphere. My husband likes animals and I love rides so this felt like something we both could enjoy during our Houston trip. Because we were already a little tired from all of the other things we were doing on the trip, this felt like something that wouldn't be overwhelming to enjoy. I was right. The size of this is small so it can be enjoyed in 2 - 3 hours. There are rides outside and breaks from the heat with all the aquariums inside. Plus the decor, music selections, and friendly staff, made me feel generally happy while we were there. Like we had gone to a good place in the late 90s. It was sweet.

This place was a hidden gem! We went on a Sunday morning and were able to see every exhibit and attraction with no waiting time. It’s is super affordable & teachers are free with ID! My kids were able to see and feed animals I never thought they would be able to.

Very disappinting... I was expecting a fun ( preety big) aquarium/amusement park. This park could be fun- if you are 3 years old. This thing is ridiculous. I wasted so much moeny on tickets for this thing. The aquarium itself is very tiny and it only took me 15 minutes to go around. The tanks were like going to an aquarium to see guppies. Again. And again. And again.... the same grey small classic riverfish in almost every enclosure. The acual interesting part were the tigers. But I was to discusted by thier environment to accualy enjoy it. These 4 poor beutiful creatures are living in an indoor plastic small decorated enclosure suffering with constant annoying temple music around them. Not surprizing to jear that they only feed the sharks 3 times a week as well. This is animal misery. There wasnt even anyone else there. Even the gift shop was small and super expensive. The rides were all either baby rides, or closed, and even the open rides looked like they were under construction, and the staff were hanging with friends using thier phones instead of monitoring the rides. The place was so empty - I was the only person there, and it was kind of creepy. I thought that the whole aquarium was 3 stories tall, but no. The whole 2nd and 3rd floor is for thier restaurant ( completly empty) and thier bar and ballroom ( probobly empty too) Dont ask why you need a ballroom for an aquarium... I thought that the shark train ride would be cool, but the train is a little kids size, and you only spend 2 minutes with real sharks. After that, you just spend the rest of the time looking at a beutiful ( not really) plastic shark and you pass through a not so wonderful parking lot...

The downtime aquarium is a 2-minute walk from post market. I grabbed a bite to eat at Post market and parked at Post market then walked to the aquarium. It was fairly quick. The parking at the aquarium is $15. Valet parking is $18. I only wanted to go to the aquarium to experience it. For Friday, the ticket was a little less than $19. I completed the entire aquarium in 20 minutes. There were many different fish. Also there was a tarantula and a few tortoises. They state that they house for 4 tigers however I only saw one. Most likely I showed up during feeding time. All in all, for one person who only wants to go to the aquarium, it is not worth it. I truly felt like I wasted $20 just to walk through a small area and see some fish. Compared to spending $25 at the Houston National Science Museum. If you are going to attend the aquarium and visit the parks, then purchasing a $25 all-day pass would be better money spent.

When people say this place is short they aren't kidding. I took my sweet time and assumed these people just ran through. Not the case. Even taking my time I was done in 20 minutes. It's a tourist trap designed to lure you into their cheap resteraunt and run down amusement park. I give it 2 stars instead of 1 because what little is there of the aquarium is nice.

This is great place for Kids. We took city pass but it does not include all other rides. We have pay extra $6 for other entries. I think Shark show is good. Its not very big, we can spend around an hour with basic entrance fee. They have Bengal Tiger which is great attaction. Parking is very costly but there are parking spots 0.3 to 0.5 miles distance which charges around $4 when paid online.

Was really nice for me and my little one, the aquarium has a unique blend of sea life exhibits, amusement rides, and dining surrounded by underwater views. It’s a fun and visually exciting spot, especially for kids and families. i highly recommend!!!

Genuinely appreciate that military get in free! However… the layout of the museum is CONFUSING as all hell. The museum is made of like 4 buildings + a parking garage. The buildings with art are connected by tunnels. Everything is confusing and hard to navigate. For some unknown reason, there was weird, terrifyingly creepy experimental music playing in both buildings we visited. It was LOUD and could be heard throughout all the exhibits. This is not an exaggeration, it sounded like tortured, haunted groaning + tornado sirens…. Not a pleasant backdrop to your museum experience. I love music. This was downright creepy and made me feel on edge while trying to enjoy the art. Parking is $10 if you park under 4 hours. As an avid museum goer, I was very happily surprised by the amount of Iranian/Islamic, Jewish, and Indonesian art on display! I had never seen so much from those regions and cultures before, so it as a really unique experience. But overall, if we had paid full price for this experience I would’ve felt pretty upset.

I love the Museum of Fine Arts. Free every Thursday. The arts, the atmosphere and creativity. It’s a great time to stroll and let your mind wonder about the messages behind the art. The varies types of art always has you more and more intrigued and enlightened.

If you’re looking for respite from the heat—the MFAH is cool. So cool! We only had a couple hours, so we headed straight for the special exhibits. A.A Murakami created ephemeral performance art with smoke and mechanical breath. Giant bubbles are released to float and explode in a puff of smoke. In another room, puffs of smoke are generated rhythmically and wafted forward. The scenes are mesmerizing and simple yet infinitely complex. Comfy floor cushions provide a place to watch and be immersed. In the Law building, we took in the Anicka Yi exhibit. We saw moving, lit wire sculptures and a constantly refreshing, AI generated scene. Relax and look for your favorite design. Outside Yi’s exhibit we enjoyed the Jewish and Islamic exhibits. I especially liked the video demo of Islamic calligraphy, and the giant painting of Islamic text with only the vowels and no consonants. You can see the rhythm of the words without the letters competing for attention. I also loved the tunnels and found the chromatically lit rainbow tunnel so charming and photogenic. You won’t be disappointed!

The Museum of Fine Arts in Houston is a marvelous museum, one of the finest in the world. It has a wide range of collection s of artworks of various forms, making it one of the leading museum of fine art in the world. The curating is first class. So is the management. The museum is spacious. It is situated in several buildings and several structural blocks, but these are interconnected through tunnel at the level of basement 1. The tunnels are meaningfully decorated. It has sober parking facility. The elevators cater the need of the physically challenged visitors.

Truly a beautifully large museum with so much to see. I think it would take at least half a day to get through everything. Not only is the artwork diverse and takes you through different times, it has many photo opportunities and a family area for kids to interact. They provide free entry to our service members or veterans too.

This was a great experience. I was temporarily in a wheelchair and going through the tunnels was a little difficult because of slopes. I do suggest getting a city pass which covers 5 different excursions. You can see the tunnel with the neon lights.

Such a beautiful museum! We went during the evening on Halloween. We had a cocktail before we went to see the galleries. The art was so creepy and that was excellent because it was Halloween. Gave a nice spooky but beautiful vibe. The cafe inside had the most delicious pumpkin tart ! The measure store was nice and reasonably priced for a museum store. We would most definitely go back !

This is a great park. There's something for everyone here. The conservancy and Japanese gardens are stunning. Fantastic playgrounds and picnic areas. The train is $7 and is hop off, hop on all day. The zoo is an additional cost but worth it. Paddle boats are available to rent, as well. This is easily an all day destination that is worth the time.

I absolutely love Memorial Hermann parks — they’ve become one of our favorite places to spend time as a family. The splash pads are amazing — big, clean, and perfect for cooling off on hot days. There’s so much space for kids to run, play, and explore, and the water features keep them entertained for hours. It’s such a gem, especially if you have little ones. Highly recommend checking it out if you haven’t already!

This park is not just beautiful but amazing! They have everything a kid could dream of in a park. Very clean, and well made. Restrooms are very clean as well. The only bad thing is to find a parking spot available.

Very clean and beautiful park. Alot of friendly birds ducks turtles bunnies squirrels etc running around. The playground and water park is amazing and very innovative. The train is handy for getting around this enormous place. a lot of clean bathrooms as well. Definitely worth a trip with the kids

Beautiful park for kids and families . The toy train , Japanese garden and boat ride are highlights in a day long picnic . A thoroughly enjoyable outing in the midst of the city . We can extend it for another day by visiting Houston Zoo

Very cute park! Still have not explored the whole thing, but there were lots of clean benches and places to sit, wide paved pathways (and some gravel ones, typically narrower but still flat and maintained), and lots of turtles in the pond! We even saw some late-season baby ducks today, so cute 🦆

Really beautiful park in Houston. Spent a day here with toddlers and it was amazing! Picnic in the park, ducks to feed, train to ride, paddle boats, carousel and the new Commons area. The Commons is really neat - slides and areas for both bigger kids and small kids….and an area for water and sand play. Loved it and will return.

When I arrived, I was told at the front desk that wagons aren’t allowed due to policy. I was really upset at first because it meant I had to carry my baby for three hours while also managing my toddler. Thankfully, the staff were very kind—they offered to hold my wagon for me this one time and even gave me a complimentary entry ticket to make up for the inconvenience. I really appreciated that gesture and it left me with a positive impression of their customer service. Aside from that, I absolutely loved this place—honestly, I think I enjoyed it even more than my toddler did! There’s such an incredible variety of things to do. They have a mini H-E-B market that feels so realistic, plus areas for architecture and interior design, an ambulance and police car, hands-on sections for physics and chemistry, a dedicated infant and breastfeeding room, and so much more. Outdoors, there are musical instruments and even a splash pad, which I thought was such a fun touch. My dad was visiting Houston, so I brought him along, and it ended up being such a wonderful experience for both him and my kids. I only wish there were a place like this in Cypress—I’d definitely become a member! I took a day off during the week to go in order to avoid traffic and a crowd.

Always a good time and it’s going to be busy pretty much anytime you go. It is designed for it to be busy. Parking garage is super convenient at $12 and just across the street. Walking and parking free at McGovern’s garden is free but can be hard to catch. Kids love the kid town, the science spot, water flow works, and all the hands on activities. Don’t feel bad you don’t see the whole place before the kids wear out. It’s practically impossible to do it all.

I recently visited the museum for the BOOSEUM, what a fun filled experience. All the employees were dressed in full costume. They handed the kids a bag with a map to areas that would have candy for the kids and they zip through their educational areas! So much cool props and lots of activities from interactive to self paced coloring. My kids had a amazing time we can’t wait to go back.

My daughter and her cousins had a great time here. So much to do! Inside and outside activities. The gift shop or the little restaurant isn’t over priced either. Very clean, staff was every where and super educational.

Good news: Members get free parking at the Children’s Museum during spring break. Bad news: The parking lot fills up quickly during this time. I recommend allowing at least three hours for your visit. The newly updated Game Quest area is a great spot to sit down and play. If the weather is nice, the outdoor water play area is also a fun option.

Celebrated my Son's birthday at the Children's museum and the staff was amazing highly recommended for birthdayes an fun the Room was the perfect size!! My Son loved it 💙

My kids LOVED LOVED LOVED here. So much to see and do This museum is so practical. So interactive with the shopping where they buy fake produce, pay for it and return it all back. There was a bank where my daughter loaned me $ 😂. We also were newscasters. They rode in a police car, played EMT doctors and veterinarians and we dined in a fake bakery. My kids didn't want to leave and we didn't have time to see everything cos it was so much fun and not enough time. We will definitely be back

This amusement park is beautifully designed and located right by the sea, which gives it a unique and relaxing atmosphere. The whole park has a strong Spanish character, which adds to its charm and authenticity. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from, offering a variety of food options — and many with great views. The rides and attractions are a lot of fun, well-maintained, and offer something for all ages. Prices are relatively affordable, especially considering the quality and variety the park offers. All in all, a fantastic day out — fun, scenic, and very Spanish in the best way!

Great place to spend a day with the family or a date. Lots of fun things to do and you can even get a tour in a boat 😵‍💫. They have a nice Hotel there you can stay and different restaurants with all kinds of food. The parking ticket is 15 dollars and the whole day pass was like 30 which is the best option. The roller coaster is insane 🤣 so much fun.

Our 1st time here, personally I was quite excited. The weather afforded us cool breezes, we arrived 11:45ish for scheduled noon opening and after walking around, having lunch the rides were just opening. When we left at 1:30 there was only one shop open. Totally disappointed! Don't know if this happens on a regular basis but I don't think we'll be driving an hour for this.

Kemah Boardwalk is a perfect family-friendly destination packed with fun and entertainment for all ages! From live music to exciting acrobatic shows, there’s always something happening. Enjoy one of the best dining experiences by the beach, with plenty of restaurants to choose from. Kids will love the carnival rides, splash pad during the summer, and the charming train that circles the boardwalk and even passes through some restaurants. Parking is paid, and weekends tend to get busy—so plan ahead!

The kids and I had a blast they enjoyed the rides. We got the all day pass which is a good price if you go on a decent amount of rides. The food is overpriced but that is to be expected. I do recommend the souvenir cup which is $10 since the refills are $1 vs buying 1 drink that ranges between $4 - $8 especially if you plan to stay a while. We paid $12 for parking for the open lot right next to the boardwalk that is card only but you have to scan a QR code to pay but there is also a car garage for parking also that is right next to the boardwalk.

Great place to take the kids, I took mine here as kids and now as teenagers and there is plenty to do for both age groups. Lots of restaurants to stop and grab a bite to eat. Rides for small kids as well as the bigger ones. And the view on the boardwalk is so beautiful especially at night from the ferris wheel 🎡

My favorite place in all of Houston not only is a museum fantastic but the parks and the grounds of the whole Mano collection are fantastic. Always try and stop by even if it’s 10 to 15 minutes it reminds me of old friends. It gives me a sense of peace. The red swing is fantastic. The Rothko Chapel is great. Everything is wonderful. Highly recommend oh the bookstore fantastic bookstore.

The directions to the museum were a little off and I had to ask how to get to the museum because I couldn’t find the building based off google maps. It turned out that I was across the street from the actual museum even though the whole area is considered part of the museum. It is a beautiful area and we enjoyed the walk. They have a swing across the street and you can sit in the park and relax. The museum art wasn’t very appealing to me except for a few paintings. You are not allowed to take pictures or videos inside the exhibit rooms only in the hallways. Over all I enjoyed the outdoors more than the actual museum, but it was a good experience.

One of Houston’s most UNDERRATED art museum. Absolutely beautiful art with brilliant and unique pieces. The museum is made up of a few different buildings which are in walking distance. The Menil Drawing Institute was my favorite with very thought provoking pieces and nice staff. And on top of everything, it is all free! Great place to unwind and to enjoy some art with a friend or a date.

No picture-taking inside, nice space and not much good art to see. There is a separate building dedicated to one abstract "artist" a photo of which is attached. Main building has some famous modern artists like Warhol . I think the room with Magritte is interesting as some art shown there isn't in books and publications. You can also trace his artistic growth by looking at art in the beginning of his career and in the end . A few Max Ernst pictures, Greek vases, etchings and lots of African wood sculptures make the best of this museum. It would take you half an hour to see it The collection is located in a nice neighborhood with beautiful old trees. There's Rothko's chapel with giant black paintings inside. If you want to feel thoroughly depressed, you can spend time there. Newman's sculpture decorates the front . Everything is free and so you can't say 'no' if you have plenty of time to kill.

Though I have visited The Menil Collection in the past, the exhibits never cease to amaze me! It was clean and reverant as I walked through every single room. I stayed and pondered over the displays that truly interested me. As an artist, I got ideas on how to improve my own work. The atmosphere was smooth and welcoming. If I lived closer, I would visit more often.

The main building has more interesting things. The other three are more contemporary art, like a lot of scribbles, which I'm not a fan of. Pictures are not allowed in most of it.

The art was great. Planning to see Adam. I’m planning to find an interesting.. Bothered us was the fact that we went on a slow Thursday night and the only people present in the entire facility. When we walked inside, My little brother had to use the restroom, and after asking the concierge where it was without even making eye contact, he faintly pointed his finger towards the door without saying anything. No big deal. After entering the building, we decided to browse at the exhibitions that had to offer that night and quickly to realize that the concierge was following us like we were some looters at Walmart. At one point, he said don’t get too close to the paintings even though we were standing anywhere between 8 to 15 feet away from them not understanding what he meant We continued our tour. No matter what part of the building we were in, he was standing over us, making us feel like we were some type of losers pretty much breaking down our neck which made us feel really uncomfortable and resolved in us, leaving quite swiftly. The place has great exhibits and is definitely worth going but the concierge or the security guard that worked there clearly not only had no manners, but also had a very pushy way of dealing with things. My family visiting me from Europe, thinking Texas is a hospital. State definitely did not get that impression from that guy “ Security or concierge whatever you wanna call him” Point blank. The place was great and they exhibits were nice to look at but the security guard that day literally made us feel like we were trying to either Steal something or damage and followed us around like a policeman. My mother Who does not live in the states ask me if this is normal and I said absolutely not and we just brushed off the bad experience as if the guy was having a bad day. Regardless, the museum is awesome and the exhibition is definitely worth going to, but hopefully you’re going on tonight when that gentleman is not working because he will make your day a bit sour with his pushy and Nonchalant verbiage…

beautiful covered amphitheater at Herman Park in Houston. with hill and train and concessions and everything a great park has. we were there for symphony at the theater and 25000 other people in the park to watch the fireworks 🎆 for July 4th festivities!!!

The Show tonight was Great! I assumed it was going to be a repeat of Friday night’s show. Boy! Wuz I wrong, and refreshingly astonished. I accidentally met tha performers of tha group Astro Inn before their set. Those guys were very good. I enjoyed their performance so much, I failed to record much of it. My favorite of tha three was Vortexz. I don’t recall tha lead singer’s name, but, he was a true showman. visions of Little Richard, Michael Jackson and a few others popped into my head as I observed him dance and prance across tha stage. Imma let my videos and photos complete tha tale.

The Three Pigs Remix by the Ensemble Theater was enjoyable. The background music was incredible and complimentary to the acting scenes and stage. The acting talent was pleasant and interesting, I just wished they would have gone 10 minutes more. Enjoyable moment to catch this play at the start of the summer.

I have never been disappointed when I have gone to see a show. Always enjoy myself. In fact, I LOVE IT. I'm there a lot, in the spring, up until it's over. Great performances each and every time. They have something for everyone. I attend most of them. Never say on the hill. I like being underneath the sheltered area. Can't go wrong. Make donations for it to continue. Great date nights. Have not had any incidents ever, when I was there. Everyone vibing, singing, dancing..etc. Having a good time.

I typically go when they have the Motown Tribute. You have to get there at least 3 hours before the performance to get a good spot on the hill. Bring food, drinks, fans, umbrellas, sun hats, and all the things to keep the heat at bay. Chairs are on one side, and blankets are on the other. If you position your seat just right, you will be able to see the stage perfectly. I enjoy sitting on the lawn. Have great conversations with your neighbors and hear great music for free. I go every year. There is plenty of parking, and it fills up fast. Make sure you wear good shoes because it's a STEEP hill on the sides. There's a paved pathway that goes around to a less steep hill. It's a lot of walking if you park far, but there is a drop-off place for those with disabilities. They do have a concession stand that sells food and drinks. Bathrooms and port-a-potties for the large crowd were available. There were vendors selling gelato on both sides of the hill. They did ask for donations to keep this, motown tribute, event free. Tickets are free buyout have to reserve them. Five minutes before the show, they opened up the seating under the Pavillion for those standing in line for the seating.

Watched the Symphony Orchestra perform songs of Summer Nights. it was a beautiful evening, and even from far away the music was able to be heard, as we walked towards the park from our stay. The front area has seating, but you should definitely remember to bring a lawn chair or blanket if you're not going to sit up close. Also there were thousands of people there that came to watch, and everybody was so respectfully quiet.

My daughter and I enjoyed Jaxz in the Park. We brought our blankets to sit on the lawn, brought our on drinks and snacks. A delightful time was had.

It’s incredibly peaceful and surrounded by beautiful wildflowers and trees in every direction. The trails are well-maintained and great for hiking or a relaxing walk. Wow! We had no idea this was such a hidden gem. Beautiful way to start the day surrounded by the nature of Houston. We will definitely bring the kids back to enjoy all the beautiful flowers and butterflies. Plus the fun climbing structures and museum to explore will be perfect for the family too.

It was the second time i had been here (the first time for a photography session) and i loved it each time!

Is a pretty place to feel connected with the nature. The trail was in condition to walk or run even with a stroller and the playground was incredibly for kids of all ages.

Although there are beautiful plants the Arboretum doesn’t live up to the hype. It is a very tranquil place to take a walk but not many plants to see.

We're on a business trip and just happen to be across the street so we visited. It was a really amazing place and great for taking walks. We saw various wildlife but did not do any of the things in the buildings.

Went for the pumpkin plotter event and the whole event was so fun and informative! Took a walk afterwards through the trails and they’re so well kept and beautiful.

I really enjoyed walking through the grounds, taking in fresh air, catching the scenic views but most of all, the quite I experienced was truly appreciated. It felt like an oasis in this big city. I would definitely recommend going during the week when there's less foot traffic. There are so many shaded spots where one can sit and enjoy a good book.

This is so beautiful. It’s a house and garden from the 1700’s. The tour explains a lot of details. The furniture and the art pieces are beautiful to look at. The gardens are so relaxing, I could spend hours here.

This place was amazing. If your interested in sweeping gardens,art and Texas history in the middle of Houston this place is a must! We didn't the garden and House tour! The tour guide was the sweetest little lady. I am sad I don't recall her name. My friend and I just had the best time with her. She was so knowledgeable and kind! We will definitely be back when the azaleas bloom!

Sadly I came on a day the house was closed due to no AC so I paid $12 USD ($16.50 Cdn) (cost for the grounds) which are not worth it in mid August when nothing is in bloom. I would highly recommend coming when azaleas, magnolias and camellias are in bloom, not when I came out. The workers on the grounds take great pride in their gardening and it shows. They love to let you know about the trees and flowers too and were very friendly. The gardens are quite pretty but wait till they are in bloom and def go to see the house for the extra $2 USD.

I was working during my visit so seeing everything is another trip, however, I will be back as a patron and museum goer! The grounds are beautiful! You can picnic here! It's quiet, historic and plenty of room for a rambunctious kiddo to run around. As a Texan, who didn't even know this was an area of Texas from the beginning, it's amazing how well preserved it is, walk amongst what was once the literal beginning of this great state. I love history, especially history you can see, and experience for yourself, not quite a time capsule experience, but one worth visiting for natives and visitors alike.

Another beautiful place to visit if you love museums, art and architecture. Entrance for children under 12 is free. Pictures look amazing inside and outside the house.

Decent place, but when visiting Bayou Bend please be very aware of your surroundings! If you are terrified of snakes avoid this place, just pay close attention when you’re walking the property individually or with family and be very careful! I definitely will not be coming back!

The See You At The Top Fleet stopped by Buffalo Bayou Park. one of the best places to unwind in Houston. The views of the downtown skyline are incredible, especially at sunrise or sunset. The trails are wide, clean, and perfect for walking, biking, or just taking a moment to recharge. Between the Nature Play Area, the Johnny Steele Dog Park, and the Cistern, there’s something for everyone here. A real Houston gem that blends nature, art, and community in one beautiful space. This is one of my favorite parks. It's large, and you can do many activities like walking, running, and biking. You can go alone or with someone, with your family or friends who play sports. You can also do more outdoor activities like picnicking, playing volleyball, or fishing. It's a beautiful place in downtown Houston. I highly recommend it.

Buffalo Bayou Park is a great park. They have trails for walking and biking. Several large grassy areas to hang out. An awesome dog park. Great people watching. The Waugh Drive Bridge has a cool bat colony that I have watched several times. It's super fun to see them drop from under the bridge and fly out into the evening sky. A little bit of sensory overwhelm, but it's definitely worth watching at least once. I do wish there were a few more restrooms throughout. But I made it work. Parking can be a challenge as well, but I have been lucky every time I have gone.

One of the best spots in Houston for walking and relaxing. The trails are well-maintained, with amazing views of the skyline and plenty of greenery. Perfect for a morning jog or evening stroll. I love how peaceful it feels even though it’s near downtown. Great mix of nature, art, and open space.

Nice visit at the Health Museum in Houston! It’s a great spot for families, especially with kids. The exhibits are interactive and educational — lots of fun learning opportunities through hands-on games and displays. The visit took me about an hour, and while it’s not a huge museum, it’s definitely worth a stop if you’re looking for a family-friendly activity in Houston.

I recently took my three kids to The Health Museum for a frog dissection class and they absolutely loved it!!! It was so fun, very hands on and very educational. We also really liked their body exhibit. 10/10 recommend!

We went during their "free" hours, so there were lots of people. If we had arrived a few hours sooner, we would have paid for the special exhibit. We arrived 45 minutes before closing, and we were out 15 minutes before closing. The attendant at the desk was very helpful. Tip: For free day, get your tickets online and have them ready to scan. When you enter, it will save you a few minutes.

My niece was interested in anatomy, so having found Body Worlds has an exhibit in the Health Museum, we made our way there. Many years ago, I attended Body Worlds elsewhere, so I was excited to show my family what I saw. The exhibit was half the size of the one that I saw many years ago. I was shocked by how small this exhibit was. It was disappointing despite all the cool anatomical displays. There's organs, blood vessel tracks, diseases, and artificial joints. Beyond Body Worlds, there was an interactive permanent exhibit where you can understand how different organs work. We especially love the sound booth and were competing to see who was the loudest. For $12, the experience was more than worthwhile. While I expected more from Body Worlds, I would encourage anyone to attend this one still.

Review of The Health Museum, Houston My wife and I visited last week with the main purpose of seeing the Body Worlds exhibition. We were under the impression that the admission ticket for the museum included access to Body Worlds. To our surprise, it turned out the exhibition required an additional payment. Even more disappointing, we were expecting the full Body Worlds experience that was shown in Houston about 20 years ago. Instead, what was presented felt like only about 10% of that original exhibition. We left feeling frustrated, misled, and upset. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. Clearer communication about what is (and isn’t) included in the price of admission, along with managing expectations about the scale of the exhibit, would have made a huge difference. Unfortunately, as it stands, we both left very dissatisfied.

Great option for the kids! Make sure you visit on theirs days for free but request tickets in advance on the webpage!

This was a nice experience. This is a small museum with many interesting exhibits. My friend and I were in awe of the real humans on display.

Awesome, The interior was a lot bigger than anticipated. Walking through the whole thing was about 2 and 1/2 hours. Very great displays and very informational. Very historic experience. The parking lot is spacious enough for the typical crowd which is small to medium size on the weekend. The price is great with only $15 per person. You're allowed to take as many pictures as you want, this makes for a good outing

If you are in Houston simply go! Absolutely fantastic! If you enjoy the history of funeral service, automotive, history of cultures and people than this is a museum for you! You will learn the history of embalming and caring for decedent to the how transport has changed over the years. There is a fascinating display about the Shroud of Turin and the burial of a Pope. Life size replicas of scenes. There is also a room filled with Memorial folders for famous figures in history from presidents to civil rights leaders to actors. The price is reasonable as well and the staff is very friendly and there to answer any questions you may have.

Very large museum, I thought I could get thru it in an hour but there is a lot of interesting information and many more rooms than I was expecting! Their gift shop is so cool, I love the staff there and overall wonderful experience!

An amazing museum that will excite any museum fan. There is a huge exhibit with plenty of stuff to see and learn about. I went during the Witch's Brew event and it was really amazing to see such a huge variety of vendors who each sold unique items that was a must-buy for me. Pair that with all the unique costumes that other patrons wore coupled with the super friendly and helpful staff made the experience unbeatable. I also really enjoyed the company of the on duty officers that were there. Even with such a large crowd, their presence made the place feel very safe. I'm looking forward to going again next year! If you can get the V.I.P. tickets, they are totally worth it!

I love horror and all things spooky so I was super excited to visit this Museum. While death can certainly be those things, I actually found that they made it less "spooky" and much more informative/historic with their pieces. It was a nice surprise because those in my group who don't love "spooky" were able to learn & enjoy the museum just as much as those paranormal obsessed. The gift shop was fun and a great spot for Halloween gifts! I really enjoyed the look into how different cultures view/honor the deceased. It was informative, fun, and an affordable way to spend a few hours. I would suggest going because death is inevitable and this museum explores it in a peaceful way!

What is learned here, they don't teach in schools. There have been so many wonderful improvements since I was here over 10 years ago. My daughter learned about parts of our family that she would have never experienced if it weren't for this place. Be prepared to cry at least 5 times while you're here. It just comes with the territory.

Took my son here in a self guided tour. They do offer tour guides. Or you can get a pair of headphones and listen to commentary. It was a beautiful tribute made of butterflies for the 1.5 million children lost to Nazi genocide. Worth checking out with mature children. My son is a history enthusiast and has a special interest in military and war stories. He found this very interesting and informative. Warning, there are some images and videos for mature audience. He is mature enough to understand the seriousness of the war.

My friends and I had a wonderful tour the day we visited. We had a very well informed tour guide who had personal stories that went along with the tour. His parents were holocaust survivors, so the experience was more personal.

Free on Thursdays 2-8pm, otherwise ours $22, or $16 for seniors. Very informative, well put together. Teen appropriate,I don't know if younger they'd understand it. Lots of reading. I was there from 2-7. Inside pics not allowed except for the butterflies display. Large lot for parking or street parking for pay.

This is a must see in Houston .after being closed for several months and undergoing a 34 million dollar renovation this museum is better than ever more interactive and engaging. The stories are soul wrenching the exhibits world class. The art gallery upstairs recommended after exhibits that will provide food for thought . This place gets better and better. I went for the Mandela exhibit. Visited permanent installations. Always a great experience.

Definitely worth a visit to learn about history in Germany and other countries in Europe that was occupied by Nazi troops. It is not too graphic in comparison to the holocaust musuem located in Berlin, Germany, which can be a good and bad thing. Meaning it is more suitable for young children.

I went to see the Kinsey African American Art & History Collection and learn lessons about the holocaust. This museum is for all people to learn and educate them selves on how the holocaust happened, watch survivors tell thier stories, and learn that we are not just to stay silent when atrocities toward different groups of people happen. I had such a nice time while educating myself. Thank you!

Highly recommend this portion of the museum. In addition to the butterfly center, there is a highly informational and fun exhibit on arthropods of all types and even some that you can pet. As a huge bug and spider nerd I was in heaven!! Loved it thoroughly.

The Cockrell Butterfly Center is truly a magical experience! The moment you step inside, you’re surrounded by a lush, tropical environment filled with hundreds of colorful butterflies fluttering all around you. It feels like walking into a living, breathing rainforest. The exhibits are not only beautiful but also educational — from the butterfly life cycle displays to the interactive insect exhibits, there’s something fascinating for both kids and adults. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, always happy to answer questions. The rainforest conservatory is well-maintained and offers great photo opportunities. Highly recommend visiting if you’re in Houston — it’s peaceful, educational, and unforgettable!

I just loved visiting this place ! It's like a butterfly heaven, trully magical. Once i stepped in, it felt like entering a jungle and I was really mesmerized by the ambiance of the waterfall and being surrounded by all the butterflies and geargous blooming flowers. You can really take your time to walk around and contemplate, its very peaceful. Highly recommend!

It was a nice experience and the gardens were beautiful. Aside from all the beautiful butterflies there were also birds, and an iguana. It’s very educational and interactive! I will definitely be back. One thing I’d suggest is to figure out the parking ahead of time because it’s $30 in the garage if you’re not a member which is ludacris!

Visiting the Cockrell Butterfly Center in Houston was an amazing experience. I got to see many different kinds of butterflies up close, each one beautiful and unique. The atmosphere feels magical, full of nature and vibrant colors. It’s the perfect place to relax and appreciate the beauty of these incredible creatures. Highly recommended!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We had such a great family outing at The Houston Flight Museum! The airplane displays are terrific — I loved seeing the planes up close. The exhibits cover flight history in such an awesome way, and the interactive engineering models kept everyone entertained (even seen adults had fun with them!). The Toddler Terminal was a huge hit for the little one — it’s the perfect spot for young kids to play and explore while still being part of the experience. Overall, it was fun, educational, and a great day for the whole family. We’ll definitely be back! ✈️👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

We had to stop after finding a museum that was open on a Sunday. The place was clean, the staff was polite and helpful. Most of it was aimed at youth which was fine. We were there to see the aircraft and well, the wife could not resist trying her hands at a flight simulator. Lots of aircraft from various periods on display with many more static displays on information on the aircraft and the history. Also included a photo of the aircraft from across the highway at the American Legion hall.

Had such a nice time, the quartet played each note beautifully! Also, it’s Adele, so duh lol. Definitely a super cute activity to include in a date night or night out with friends. Make sure to arrive early to have ample time to walk around the museum and explore.

I really enjoyed walking through and looking at all the history and reminded of how far we've come. That's pretty scary. The employees are awesome and have a lot of knowledge and men that have a lot of experience in the war as well. George W bush has his airplane in there. I knew the backstory but not in this detail. Everyone should go to the museum.

We had a great experience! We used a Groupon and saved a few bucks, which was a nice bonus. There were so many fun activities for both kids and adults. it’s a very family-friendly place. The airplanes were beautiful to see up close, and the flight simulator was such a cool touch! I really appreciated that some of the staff were teen volunteers; they were incredibly respectful and knowledgeable. There were so many interesting facts to learn, and the whole museum had a fun, hands-on vibe. Highly recommend visiting this awesome aviation museum!

This is a fun little museum. I appreciated the scavenger hunts. 2 things from the scavenger hunts were not available but I think it was because we were there the first day open after the air show. The children's area was fun and interactive.

Amazing hidden gem museum. Tour guide was authentic and amazing. Lots of laughs and memories made. My little one and I love history so this trip up the road was perfect.

If you’re at Rice, come see it. Otherwise don’t waste your time or money. You’ll have to pay parking and there’s construction at the moment. You can still access it by going around the construction but the light show isn’t working and there are no signs alerting you. Website says it should reopen in Spring 2025.

Located inside the University. It looks like an art piece and it lights up after sunset, although sometimes it doesn't turn on due to technical difficulties. If you really want to see the lights, it might be a good idea to call first before making the trip over. The Moody lot is pretty close and it's a paid lot. I don't think there are any free ones on campus. Be carful where you park as some are restricted and you will get towed. That being said, the campus is very peaceful and it's a nice place to take a leisurely stroll. We enjoy coming here in the evenings for sunset.

This exhibit is best in the twilight hours until dark. An inspiring place to relax and reflect. The acoustics are also great. If you can get in alone, it's a wonderful experience to practice and enjoy the views. Thank you, Rice University, for keeping this open to the public.

Stumbled across this when we were staying in the area. We were there for sunset, light sequence was awesome against the clouds and lightning in the background!! There were several people there enjoying the quiet and meditating. Parking available along the street. It’s quick and easy to stop in and stay for a short visit. If you go to the website that’s shown when you are reviewing this location on the map it will show the best times to arrive for your visit!!

I've lived in Houston for a year. I moved here from the Midwest. I was trying to find some unique things to do in Houston that were inexpensive or free. This looked amazing based on the reviews and it's free except for the parking. You can go for sunrise or sunset. Based on reviews it seemed as though sunset was busier and since I was going alone I didn't want to deal with crowds. It said to arrive an hour before sunrise. It's on the campus of Rice University. There was no one there when I arrived .There was no lighting in the art structure. Frankly, there was little lighting on campus. I was a little concerned for my safety. It said the light show started 40 minutes prior to sunrise. That time came and went and nothing happened. But since I was up I decided to stay for the sunrise. Eventually a few other people showed up. Right as the sun started to rise a guy started to mow the lawn right next to us, I mean literally inches away! That took the wind out of my sails. The sunset was still pretty, although it looked better in my rearview mirror as I drove away. I am willing to give the sunset option a try because the reviews were current for that. You have to park in an on-campus parking lot which is about $6. It's about three or four blocks away from there. The concept is very interesting just disappointing that the show didn't happen. When I got home, I reviewed the website meticulously to be sure I hadn't missed any pertinent information about the sunrise show not happening on certain days or at all for that matter. I couldn't find anything. Oh well, you learn something new everyday

Twas a nice light show and relaxing place but full of mosquitos 🦟 omg! If you don’t put repellant then you’ll be bitten so badly! Other than that, enjoy the show!

A very meditative experience if it were not for all the 50 or so tourists. It gives a very peaceful and reflective ambiance and I was so impressed and amazed walking through Rice to witness this kind of natural-yet-electronic sculpture/pavillion. The lights are much prettier when you view from the outside or sitting in the lower level of the structure, not the top.

Contrary to its name, this is not actually a park. This is a small collection of abandoned buildings that have been painted with murals and various art, by local artists. It’s a great place to take pictures and capture some of the feel of H-Town. There are also places close to grab photos of the skyline. USE CAUTION if alone. There is a homelessness presence in the area.

FREE! Something to do if you’re in Houston. I went on a Saturday afternoon it wasn’t a lot of people there I honestly felt safe. Dope murals and a great opportunity for some photos. Really awesome I was able to see one of the artist repainting part of the wall in Pokémon.

I recommend you get a drink and walk around and take it in... This is a great free activity and a good options for pics.!

Very artistic graffiti art. Definitely worth a visit if you have time to spare.

The graffiti park in downtown Houston has cool, vibrant and colourful wall art . Unfortunately, a parked car ended up blocking a portion of the graffiti. It's kinda sketchy around there, especially if you're alone. I went solo and kept my stuff concealed because it didn't seem like the safest place. It looks abandoned, a bit grimy, and you can catch a whiff of weed. Still, it's a great spot for taking pictures downtown, even though there was no security, which was surprising given it’s high up on Houston’s to-do list.

Absolutely beautiful back drops to take pictures in front of or just to take pictures of the art . This place was much better when you could park in the parking lot. They closed parts of the parking lot but you can still access the parking lot on foot. It is a really good place to visit while in Houston.The new Bart Simpson graffiti is very cool. Over the years the art has changed many times so you will not know what is there u til you arrive. I really enjoy many evenings just taking pictures of my friends and family in front of the memorable pictures like Selena and Kobe. If you haven't had a chance to visit make sure you do before you leave Houston. It's free and worth the trip to downtown.

Best spot for photos. I love to bring my visiting friends and family out here for photo ops. If you pick just the right time, you might just see one of the artists out painting a new mural.

major shout out Lauren was an amazing host! i can't remember my guy who hosted the heist escape room, but he was awesome as well. i managed to do two (more) games today. I truly love the location + the detailed escape games they offer! i have two more rooms to escape + they'll be 100% complete. sthank you guys for the hospitality, the fun + the challenge! ☺️

My hubby and I had a fantastic time at The Escape Room in City Centre! Justin, our room guide, was incredibly helpful and made the experience smooth and enjoyable. We completed and escaped both The Heist and Timeliner—each had their own unique challenges. The Heist stood out as the more difficult of the two, requiring sharp critical thinking and teamwork, while Timeliner was fast-paced and fun. We’d definitely recommend this experience to anyone looking for a great time with friends or family.

The Gold Rush is one of the best escape rooms I’ve ever played! The design of the different puzzles are awesome, I especially enjoy the part where I can shoot the targets, and the slide. The circuit design was also amazing! The host there was super nice and helpful, the hints were given as soon as they were asked for, and the entire experience was just so great! I’ll definitely come back again!

Not only did we have an amazing time (we’ve done almost all the games from Escape Game now and they are the BEST escape room experience hands down), but the staff at City Center went out of their way to accommodate and help us. They not only do escape rooms well but they genuinely care about their patrons and treat them so kindly. Thank you for such a great experience for me and my family! The best time ever! It was a first for my husband and me, but our daughter had done it a few times in New Orleans, but never Gold Rush. We found the gold & ESCAPED with time left on the clock. If you have never experienced it, I highly recommend it. Kudos to our guide Hunter! He was a great. Thank you.

Went to The Escape Game for my mom’s birthday. The Heist was the best. It was hard but the unlimited clues definitely helped. Justin was great with the clues, great customer service and fun to work with in the room. I wouldn’t go to any other escape room. We will be back.

kiana was the goat, absolutely nice, amazing place gotta come again. didn’t catch the guys name working front desk but he was extremely welcoming and extremely nice. the other workers who helped in our rooms were awesome and the experience would definitely make me bring friends here. We did three rooms in a row back to back. the stress from the prisoner was super fun. definitely a 9 for a reason

Nothing about Houston makes sense! This beautiful attraction is the only attraction to see for miles. Houston must be so large that they sprinkle a little art all around. Luckily this was just a short walk from our hotel. It draws a lot of visitors. I loved to see the diverse crowd that gathered for photos. Be careful though, there isn’t a place to park. The tow truck was hovering and almost towed a car.

One of the most beautiful waterfalls I’ve ever seen inside the city of Houston. The design and atmosphere are truly stunning, making it a perfect place to relax or take photos. This park also holds a lot of good memories for me, which makes it even more special. A must-visit spot if you’re in Houston.

This place is breathtaking! You get to see a huge wall of cascading water that is awe-inspiring. This is located near the Galleria. This iconic Houston landmark is most likely the best thing one could put inside of a city.

Love this place. So peaceful when u visit this early in the morning so there won't be a any crowd. Plan ahead for photos you can definitely have few nice pics.

Honestly, this is one of the more random things to be so unexpectedly found while exploring a city. Crossing through the city through some of the less than favorable parts and then stumbling through a couple of blocks of a downtown, you find yourself here, something that you can see and hear while driving down the street. It was certainly a fun find, and of course I had to stop and check it out. Be mindful that you may need to cross an entire lawn depending on where you park. It had just rained so there were tons of holes and mud spots in the grass - be aware when you go. Staring at this waterfall structure makes you ponder why they put this here, and then you just marvel that it is here. Then you think about how everything you currently enjoy was made up by someone not much smarter than yourself.

An excellent quiet and soulful place in the historical part of Houston. Don't miss it and give yourself a break, disconnect from your phone and connect with your inner you.

What an experience! It's really something to behold. I loved every second of it, I understand it's not for everyone, but if you enjoy abstract art, you will LOVE it. The broken obelisk outside is a beautiful way to welcome you to the mood change for serenity and calm . When you enter the chapel, it will be dark and quiet, and then you enter a room with a huge painting of Rothko's work powerfull work, it's not easy nor comfortable art, it's dark, confining and agonizing feeling when you see them, I can't describe it... they have seats you can set and observe.

It is a place to meditate, quite a modern building not big, quite strict on the silence mode, a bit disappointed for the outdoor sculpture,is quite cool but is small compared to what is advertised. Small little park next to it and just 2 steps from the museum, and university!

The chapel is located in a quiet, suburban area of the city. There's many free street parking available when we visited. The place has a calming atmosphere and a water station. Inside, no chatter nor loud noises are allowed. It is a serene building, with one security present to supervise. We spent a good 10 minutes here, then looked at other nearby buildings and activities. Overall, Rothko Chapel is a good stopover during our long road trip. Admission is free too!

The chapel contains 6 or so Rothko paintings. All of them are black. And they require concentration to see the hidden shapes in the paintings. Of you like that type of art (I do) it's a very nice experience. It's a single room. There are benches and there is no pressure to "move along" so there is plenty of time to study each painting at your leisure. A lot of people don't like that type of art. But if you do. It's a special place.

Terrible!! It is one octagon shaped room with big black Rothko paintings on the wall. That would all be fine and perhaps meditative, but there are three security guards guarding this one little room so you can't have any kind of calm sense of place with six bad-vibe eyes beaming upon you. Too bad. One security guard would do.

I can’t believe I did not know this place even existed. Great place very calming and meditating here is a must. I bright my five year old and it was great to start training to be still and quite. She did great we stayed for a few minutes but definitely plan on coming back once a week to have her appreciate the silence. Homeschooling a five year old is great but having this type of experiences are greatly appreciated to have reachable moments. Thank you! We actually were in the area and just walked right in in a Thursday and it was free!

I parked in the Alley Theater Garage and made my way down to the ground floor via the elevator, I ran into Whitney, from Operations for the Alley Theater. She told me all about the theater and showed me around, made me feel like a VIP! I went back stage, I went main stage, saw the smaller stage with an active 'reading' going on, it was a sight to see. I have a curious mind and love exploring, Whitney made me feel like I belonged. There's a whole gigantic hidden world underneath the theater stages. I loved every second of it, she even gave me a free water unasked, that was very nice of her. I loved the impromptu tour of Alley Theater, perhaps someday I will make my way back here to see a show. A lot of work goes into the shows, so many moving parts and people involved. Thank you Whitney! You have a wonderful upbeat positive personality, perfect for theater. I wish Whitney and the theater the best, I'm glad she showed me around, and glad I took a random chance and stopped to ask her questions. It always surprises me the places I end up seeing just by taking a chance and talking to people I don't know. It was awesome.

What a sensational experience!! I had the pleasure of viewing “The Mirror Crack’d” opening night at the Alley Theater. The whole evening was enchanting from start to finish. They offer a few charming beverage bars that offer a variety of wine, liquor, and beers that guest can help themselves to prior to the show and during intermission. They also have plenty of tables and seating areas inside and out to mingle. The outside balcony has breathtaking views of downtown! The auditorium is spacious with every seat providing a spectacular view of the stage. The overall production from the actors to the sound was more than I bargained for! I will definitely be returning, so if you have not treated yourself to an evening out- I highly recommend suggest The Alley Theatre. 🎭

I absolutely love Christmas Carol last December. The original actor apparently couldn't do the Scrooge roll & the understudy did a fabulous job. Ghost Of Christmas Future was the coolest & huge. I wanna go see it again this Christmas. I love this theater & I've already gonna see 2 more plays there. Highly recommend 👌.

We attended a school showing of Christmas Carol. My children loved their first play! The production was magnificent. We can't wait to go next year.

I'm actually in here waiting for my Wife and Mother-in-Law, who got tix to "A Christmas Carol." I had seriously planned to sit in the parking garage next door & chill, but alas, after 2 1/2 hours, nature calls. The absolutely amazing folks at the front door let me in and scanned a badge to get me to the restrooms on the 3rd floor. That was awesome. Even better, I was asked if I wanted a drink from the bar & invited to stay. Every one of these folks has been amazing - I wish more businesses would subscribe to this group's training. The play that I've seen on a 55" TV, in the bar area, has been well produced. I wish I'd have gotten a ticket, but this is a bit of an outside view. Such a beautiful theater.

This was my first visit to this theater and I was impressed. The performance I saw was in the basement. It was a central stage with seating on three sides. The lighting was great and the sound carried decently well (I was towards the back and my imperfect hearing was totally adequate). Very well located in downtown near a lot of good bars and restaurants.

Free admission!!! We were pleasantly surprised with this museum. Very small gallery but the collection they had when we visited were great conversation pieces (in a good way). Interesting art that can be discussed depending on the eye of the beholder. Would love to check out other collections that they display. Staff at the front were polite and welcoming even though we came near closing.

This is probably my favorite museum in the Houston area. they are very friendly, it's a completely free museum honestly it's such a hidden gem and I would like more people to know about this museum. They have two floors and two separate exhibits on each floor. They have restrooms on the bottom floor in the corner. Sometimes they have a reading corner which is really cool on the bottom floor as well. A must see if in the Montrose area.

I love this place! It's one of my favorite Houston museums. CAMH presents art made by living artists that speaks to our now time. Exhibits often provoke thought and strong emotion. Most weekends, a hands on art activity is offered to encourage visitors to connect with the art on display.

The Contemporary Arts Museum Houston was a vibrant and thought-provoking visit—and best of all, admission is free! Tomashi Jackson’s Across the Universe stood out with its bold colors and fresh energy, offering a powerful reflection on societal power and community empowerment. The OUT OF STOCK teen exhibition was impressive and timely. Some pieces felt dark, capturing the real struggles of today’s youth, which made them even more impactful. A meaningful and accessible experience all around.

Very Nice museum , must visit while you sell around the art district, promotes local artists and has some workshops in which you can do different activities

I visited during a college night and it was pretty cool. The staff was friendly and helpful. One of them gave me a high five. I had some pins made for my kids. I met some amazing people. I would definitely come visit again. 10/10 awesomesauce!

Smither park is a good park to go to during night or mornings, as it gets very hot during the day during the summer. No restrooms available, but great art and lots of things to look at. Scavenger hunts are available sometimes. Open dawn through dusk and not really crowded most of the time. Shade is available but all seating areas are outside of shade? I don't recommend a picnic hear but 100% bring water.

This park is a small park in my neighborhood and it's really beautiful and clean. I've never seen a park with such lovely mosaics before. With swings and all, it's perfect for kids. I enjoy taking short walks here in the afternoons and it really lifts my mood. 😊

Its a beautiful strip park made by a artist. Its sculptures are all made of busted glass,ceramic, shells . Its so beautiful. Its a small place so much artistic work involved in this place. Pictures doesn't do this place justice. Its a must see . It only has on street parking. Entry is free .

This is a small linear park in the heart of a neighborhood. The artist were creating new works while we were there. Very creative and peaceful. There is limited street parking.

I saw a FB reel about this place and thought it would be cool for a family outing. I really liked the scavenger hunt aspect. Turned it into a game, whoever could find the most things on the scavenger list got to pick where we went for lunch. They didn’t have any sheets left so we made the best of it and ended up taking a picture and going off that. (The wife won). Ended up being a good time. Left after around 40 mins due to it getting hot and seeing most everything.

Love the temple, the energy is super beautiful i love the people giving you the details about the building construction, every piece hand made in India, the stone was from Italian and the many of voluntaries build this beautiful a Temple! Is not a simple building is a magic place filled of love and magic and spiritual clues to you find into your self your own magic Espirtual life! ❤️❤️❤️❤️I love it!

Transport yourself to another time and place. Visited New Year’s Eve before Devali. Majestic limestone and marble from Turkey and Italy hand carved in India and reassembled here in Texas over many years. The craftsmanship must be seen in person - it’s even more impressive inside (no pictures). Friendly staff will offer info and history to those who are curious to learn more.

This is a peaceful and beautifully designed place. The intricate architecture and serene water pond at the entrance create a calming atmosphere right away. Just note that the temple doors remain closed in the morning and open around noon for aarti, which is definitely worth experiencing. The volunteers are friendly, and the temple is very welcoming to families and visitors of all backgrounds. There’s also a vegetarian restaurant on-site that serves fresh, simple, and tasty food — perfect after spending time at the temple. The whole space is clean, well-maintained, and a great spot to slow down and reflect. Whether you’re going for prayer or just to explore, it’s a relaxing and culturally rich place to visit.

Beautiful experience. All people are warmly welcomed. Be there at 11:15 to experience a short ceremony. The guides are very kind and informative. The marble carvings are incredible. Also, don't miss the store and cafe for lots of great treats. Highly recommend!

Gorgeous architecture and nice museum. I loved the lookout on the second floor of the water/mist going out. It is not too large of a museum but I liked the exhibits and they were really interactive. There’s a parking lot right across the street $7 for general or $5 for members. There is a café inside, which was pretty cute, though a little small and on the ground level. I like the interactive booth where you can learn a few words from various Asian languages, which was fun.

Great facility, relaxing, and very tranquil atmosphere must come inside to get a feel Thursday night is free for entry. They have a lot of different activities and events to go to bring awareness of Asian culture and fulfilling their mission as an organization.

It’s smaller than I expected, but there is nice rooms and some Asian culture. It doesn’t really go in depth of Asian history. There is also a cafe but it closes early.

It was an experience. We sat in a room aboard th3 train and visited cities in Asia that was very interesting. I enjoyed it.

The battleground was a fun time. We stopped here and ran around the park seeing many birds, turtles, and other things. The actual museum was closed during our visit, however we could still walk around the outside and the rest of the park. They are currently doing some construction/updating to part of the park, so there should be some extra things to view in the coming months. I assume this might be from the lack of being "open" but the bathroom, which is open without a door, was accompanied by a massive wolf spider roughly the size of an adult's fist and large frog in the paper towel dispenser where the towels should be. Anyhow, the battleground is very scenic and beautiful, just keep your eyes open on the bathrooms if you use them.

We had been here before with our kids at least a decade earlier. They have a good sized exhibit in the base and part of the admission fee includes a ride to the top of the monument. It is really neat to see the surrounding bay from the top. I am uncomfortable with heights but wasn’t bothered by this here as the observation area is completely enclosed. I don’t know how busy it gets as we went in on a Friday morning. Overall it was an enjoyable experience.

Ostentatious is what comes to mind. The grounds are well kept, quiet and serene. I haven't been inside the museum yet... but walking around the property and building itself tells the story of how Texas began...how the 18 minute war was won. Its definitely a site to see. I look forward to going back to thr observation deck. This monument is taller than the Washington Memorial. Its difficult to fit the monument into one pic. On my visits, there never seems to be a wait to get inside the museum. 🤷🏽‍♀️#BiggerInTexas....

I have been coming here since my parents would bring me in a stroller. People still referred to the park as The Battlegrounds. I'm 64 now, enjoyed innumerable picnics and introducing out-of-staters to Texas History. The park has changed over the years, mostly for the better. It's always fun to go to the observation deck. I miss the Texas. She belongs here, not Galveston, but the important thing is that she's preserved.

I took Jacob here and he was very interested in the exhibits and film. I don’t think he completely understood what it was about but he liked it and asked questions. Very educational for all ages and worth taking the time to visit.

A beautiful and well kept piece of Texas History. Beware though, the museum is not open everyday like what Google describes. It is closed Monday and Tuesday. The battlegrounds are open every day though. We went on a Tuesday and google said it was open. We showed up disappointed the park store and museum was closed. Overall, happy to pay this beautiful piece of history a visit. They do a good job keeping it running

I saw The book of Mormon and waitress here valet parking is very affordable and convenient. There’s really not a bad seat in the house. Staff is very friendly. Always a great experience.

Review for American Psycho! TL;DR definitely go see it! Parking was very easy in the Hobby Garage for $20. Thankfully, a nice gentleman working outside pointed us towards the correct entrance. We arrived about 30 minutes early and got our tickets from Will Call with no issues, taking some photos of the 80's memorabilia outside. It was easy to find our way to the upstairs seats in the Left Mezzanine. I don't think there are really any bad seats in the theater; I could clearly hear and see everything. The show itself was longer than expected (ended around 10:30PM) but it was so much fun. I went in blind, having not seen American Psycho, and it was definitely inspiration to go watch the movie. The actors and musicians were top notch, the scene transitions were smooth, and they used lightning to highlight movement extremely well. A few minor camera jostles here and there and I think the Detective's microphone was a tad lower but overall, an amazing production for one of their first showings!

This theater has some of the most incredible performances. I’ve enjoyed Peter Pan & Life of Pi. Parking can be hectic I recommend arriving 45 mins early if you want to park on site. Easier to uber if you live close. Visuals at Life of Pi were just instantly good followed by amazing actors.

The volunteers are almost always a delight, brimming with enthusiasm. Those that aren't are still polite and professional. The staff are generally very good though sometimes it slips at the concession stands, things like not scanning your season ticket vouchers can happen. If you spot that, the theater puts it right. Ultimately, that's the part that matters when mistakes are made. Seats are comfortable, most guests respect the no phones rules. Those that don't usually respond to a polite "reminder." Nobody wants to be distracted or blinded because you can't leave your phone alone or step out to sort something. Plus the actors can see that shining light and it's rude. (Rant over.) All the shows we've been to have been high quality performances, with some real standout performances. Allow Time (with a capital T) to get out of the car park. Obviously, a lot of people are leaving at the same time and you can be there a while.

I have only been to 3 theaters prior for broadway productions. The Amsterdam theater, CiBC Chicago and Hotel Theatre in Vegas. The Hobby Center by far was my best viewing experience because of the site lines and the sheer comfort and leg room of the seats. I am 6 ft 2 / 235 lbs, so I fill up a seat pretty good! This was our first time here so I was a little nervous about the parking situation because we arrived only 45 minutes prior to our 7pm showing. The paid parking was a breeze but the lesson learned was to probably arrive at least 1 hour ahead so you don’t end up above the 4th floor. When leaving the exiting process is the worst part of the whole experience. They empty the garage from the bottom up! A better option would probably be to valet if you don’t want the hassle ($25) . The theater is also one of the better looking ones that I have visited. Everything was clean including the restrooms. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had right balcony seats for The Wiz and the view was very good. The only thing that may have been slightly off was that with certain characters I had trouble understanding the dialogue. There was also an elevator not operating so transporting people to the upper levels was limited to one elevator but the staff did a great job of making that happen as efficiently as possible. It took us about 30 minutes to get out of the garage after getting to our car, so that’s my reason for the 4 Stars and not 5. I definitely wouldn’t hesitate to come back.

Went to see Joe banamasssa, thier ticket app was a fail, kick us out mid order, finally able to buy tickets, we go to the show, mind you I don't match the demographic of his fans, so I was singled out for secondary screening, then, finally we get to the ticke taker, and again the app failed, she asked if it ws a screenshot, not possible on thier app, they dont even know how thier own app works, sent us back to the ticket windows for paper tickets, what the point of the dumb app. Show was good, venue not so much. Future events here, I will have second thoughts as this is the second time I've had Issues with ticketing.

Easy parking and seated within 10 minutes of parking. Nice venue. As with many places, the intermission line for the women's restroom was ginormous...wish the architects would plan for that. Snacks and water prices were about $5 each Sound and sight line was good in the upper balcony. Binoculars would have been nice.

It doesn’t open until 11am. Google says 9am but that is incorrect. Three slides were down so we missed out on those. They closed all slides, wave pool and jungle gym two hours after being there because they said lightning was spotted 5-10 miles away. We did however buy the “all day dining package” and I believe it’s worthy as everything cost $16-20 per food item. With the pass you can get one food item every 90 minutes and it also comes with an all day refillable drink and you can refill it every 15 minutes. We enjoyed the time we had but wish we got to experience more rides.

Caution: Double-Check the Hours Before You Go! *Long post alert* Before planning your visit to Hurricane Harbor, I highly recommend calling the park directly to confirm their hours of operation. Unfortunately, both the website and Google listed opening times that were two hours earlier than when the park actually opened. This caused a lot of frustration for my family and several other guests who arrived early, only to be turned away and told to wait. On the bright side, the security staff was very professional and understanding. The guard who spoke with us mentioned this happens quite often, and he kindly suggested some nearby restaurants where we could pass the time. The Good Stuff: Once inside, my friends and family had a fantastic time! There are plenty of rides and attractions to keep everyone entertained, from the youngest kids to adults. The staff throughout the park were friendly and helpful. I was especially impressed by the lifeguards—they were attentive and clearly took their responsibilities seriously. A Few Downsides: Prices inside the park are quite high, though that’s pretty standard for theme parks. The initial inconvenience with the posted hours put a damper on the start of our day. Overall, while the experience was mixed due to the confusion about opening hours and the high prices, we still made some great memories. And at the end of the day, those memories are priceless!

So the park is actually quite nice. I'm a little disappointed as a person who owns a pass that works for both Cedar, Fair, and Six Flags, and it's kind of misleading. There's no way for you to buy an all park meal and drink pass for Six Flags without paying for a another season pass, even though you already have one that works at both park chains through Cedar Point, it's a glitch. They need to fix ASAP. Also, they didn't open up the 2 highest tallest slides until more than half the day was gone. They said it was maintenance, but it was clear. There wasn't enough people there to justify having 2 employees standing up there. So those of us that came early instead of later in the day didn't have an opportunity to enjoy those slides. Another issue it seems like a petty money grab that they don't provide inner tubes free of charge for their lazy river. You have to walk in it. I've never heard of a lazy river where you have to pay to get an inner tube.

Hurricane Harbor is good park and there are many good water rides. Only problem I see is every time I visit the park there are at least 2 to 3 rides which are partially closed or fully closed. We also visited Tidal Cafe and employee over there are friendly and helped customizing the food request, I want to thanks *Nevaeh T* she did took care of our order. Since many years this park has not changed and lazy river is not good at all compare to other water parks. New rides addition should be done and upgrades are much needed in this park.

Definitely a great family place. Wouldn’t recommend a major holiday lol but we still had a great time. It wasn’t packed but busy. Great food. Great service. Life guards are on duty but you need to keep an eye out for your own children of you can.

Today I brought my son to the waterpark for the first time. My son has some Disabilities and so I did some major planning to make this trip, right. I will say that over the phone was very hard to get through to anybody, but once I got to the park. The staff was absolutely amazing! I didn’t struggle with the check-in through security with his medical equipment or dietary needs. Had a small hiccup, but Officer Bryan cleared it up quickly. They also made my son feel very special and gave him a security hat and a badge and a patch. My cabana host was extremely sweet to us getting any information we needed. I believe her name was Kcj. The lifeguards made my job easier at any attraction we went to by making sure my son’s wheelchair was take care of while we were in the water. Everybody was very accommodating about how to get around in certain areas with his chair. The staff continuously checked on us. Officer Bryan Came to check on us more than once. Even as we were leaving the park the staff was making sure that we were good from start to finish.

We bought season passes for the kiddos because Mondays we are off and have done this for a few years. I understand that the weather has been weird but even on the days where the weather is great, the park has been closed. I haven’t been able to use my pass at all this year and 4 times we’ve driven up to the park for it to be closed. Other families are waiting and including today, the park is closed! Y’all were supposed to be open at 9. It’s after 1030 and people are leaving while we sit here waiting, now impatiently. No updates given either. At this point we need a full refund for not being able to use our passes. The summer is halfway over! A waste of drive time and money!

Amazing Day at the Waterpark! We had an incredible time! The park was super clean, well-organized, and had something for everyone — from thrilling slides to relaxing lazy rivers. The staff was friendly and attentive, and there were plenty of lifeguards, which made us feel really safe. We loved the wave pool and the kids’ area was perfect. Food options were decent , a little bit expensive . The best option is to join as a member. You only pay once and can visit anytime without paying again.

Nice waterpark next to Katy Mills mall. no food allowed. they have lots of restaurants to choose from. I like how they have cabanas everywhere in each section. Bathrooms were clean and nicely tiles. Ok lazy river..lots of ridws. 2 kiddie sections. Lines were not too long at the major rides. Loves rhe vintage vehicles spread out over the property. A good amount of floaties. Waves pool by the stage area. Lots of cool features in this watee park.

I came to Typhoon Texas Waterpark in Katy few weeks ago. I really liked it and I wanted to go back. But I can't afford paying $40 again. I missed the final summer day last Monday for $20 admission. Oh well, until next year. I wish the lazy river was longer, tho.

We visited Typhoon Texas as part of our family vacation. We purchased Pogo Passes to help make the vacation planning easier. Highly recommend Typhoon Texas! My kids loved the shaved ice stand by the wave pool, unlimited drink refills with the souvenir cup, and all of the slides. My daughters were nervous to ride The Typhoon, but had a blast doing so!

This was great fun but you need a full day to enjoy all slides and pools. The changing rooms were clean and pool areas clean. There are lockers available at $25 (ouch) but you can open and close it all day long.

My grandkids and I have memberships they pay for themselves. My grandson birthday 🎂 Party was there in one of the cabanas the hostess was great. We had a great time.

Really great water park and super convenient if you're on Houston's West side. The season pass is a great deal for a city with hot summers and not a lot of outdoor, kid friendly attractions when kids are out of school.

We visited this past Saturday and had a wonderful time. The volunteers there are very knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and friendly. I learned way more than I had expected to! And, watching planes take off from either the roof or the ramp was absolutely amazing. For all that and everything you get to see in the exhibits, it is definitely worth the admission price. I will for sure be back.

I cannot say enough good things about the 1940 Air Terminal Museum as our wedding venue. From the very beginning working with their event manager was easy. Their pricing was competitive and they included a lot of items that would have been extra at other venues, not to mention the fact that the money spent was actually going back into supporting the venue and the Houston Aeronautical Heritage Society! The space itself is so beautiful, fun, and unique that it barely required any decor. The museum exhibits, airplanes, and runway right outside the door provided tons of activities for the guests to enjoy during cocktail hour and throughout the evening. I could go on and on but do yourself a favor, if you are considering them as a venue contact Juan and drop by the museum one day and I am sure you will fall in love with it like we did!

HIGHLY recommend if you love museums, planes and a good time! I went on a rainy Thursday and it was just by chance. (I was in the area and needed to kill a couple hours) There was a lot to see, read and learn about! The whole staff was sooo fun to talk to. Lucy & Mike are the best and I can’t wait to come back! This place is awesome. It is like traveling back in time. Jim was great explaining the history of this place. Local goverment should get involved in preserving this place. It relies purely on donations and volunteers. Congratulations to all the personel dedicated to this place. You're doing an excellent job!!!! Come on people, let's support this place!!!!

Wonderful experience at Air Terminal Museum My children and I attended the OPEN RAMP event. We really like everything about aviation and knowing what aviation was like in the past was something incredible, plus there are many photos and things we had never seen before! If you have the opportunity to visit the museum, do so and sow the seeds of aviation in the children the future pilots and flight attendants.

Who knew Houston had such interesting aviation history. The art deco building and how it came about is worth the visit. Inside they take you through how much air travel has changed since it's beginning. Friendly and knowledgeable staff adds to the experience.

Mostly come here for the dog park. It’s very big, very clean compared to others, and it’s astro turf so you can bring your pups even after it rains. Love the fact that there’s multiple water fountains in the park instead of having to leash and take your pups outside. Only downside is parking. It IS downtown after all. Great if you live nearby but still alright if you don’t mind a walk with your pups.

Very peaceful when there is not an event going on but still very nice when an event is happening.good place to go to get out the heat. Has a bathroom and a nice place to bring your dogs.

This is the meet up spot for Thursday night Clutch City Riders (Bicycle, Skates etc but no motorized) 7pm meet and gather then ride out at 8pm. Round trip was 14 miles. They have a stop point at the halfway point. About an hour break. I forgot the name of the venue but Drinks and food was sold. It was my first time and it's very well organized. It's a fee event, but the organization sales t-shirt s. I will be buying two shirts to help support. FYI, bring plenty of water, hydrate in advance. I made the mistake of heading back 7 miles about 10:30pm without the pack. That was dangerous, dark streets. If you have no choice but to do that, set your GPS to Bike. It will keep you best as possible with sidewalks. A few spots were missing sidewalks, so we went into the street nervous. Stay with the pack/group. Amazing, I estimated it was about 500+ riders. Some creative people had boom boxes strapped on to their backs, bikes so on. One of the most interesting things I've ever done. I follow Clutch City riders on IG.

A little late with this post but this was fun. I look forward to attending again next year!

I had been thinking about visiting this place for a long time. Just yesterday I found out that entrance to the cistern is free every first Thursday of the month and, today being coincidentally the first Thursday of this month, decided to finally do it - everyone loves a free thing, right? There's also free parking available but you might need some luck to get an available space. The tour into the cistern was pretty bare-boned; some history recounted, some dimensions and capacities discussed. We made an entrance into a darkened space and the guide used her flashlight to illuminate different parts of the place to explain each one. We then did some fun echo and reverberation stuff and finally the lights were turned on to enjoy the whole cistern in all its splendor. The guided part lasted maybe eight to ten minutes, after which we were free to walk around on the surrounding walkways. You may have seen pictures, during your research, of all the columns beautifully lit up. Well, lighting on this tour was very basic. Only the periphery was lit up, the rest of the space was still dark. The complete lighting is apparently only switched on during special events. Over all, it was a nice and enjoyable 25 minutes or so. After visiting the cistern, if you have the time, you may want to go for a walk on the trails next to the bayou, and make it a nice healthy morning for you.

This is a great place to take out of towners. They aren't many cisterns like this so if you don't want to fly to Istanbul, this is your spot. Also, if you want to listen to cool singing or music, they have some artistic events that take advantage of the the acoustics and echoes in the space. Rosemarie was a fantastic tour guide. She was clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about the topic. She also dedicated the time to write a poem and learn it in several languages. She's sang it in three languages, which was impressive. It was a pleasure hearing the heartfelt song bounce off of the walls and water to create a unique a sensation of being enveloped by sound. Highly recommend the tour and events. Go early to find parking.

It was a very interesting and informative tour. It was hot outside but just right on the inside. Hard to imagine that the founder father's thought that was going to be enough water for Houston.. My friend and I where in Houston for a vacation so we had time to kill and we saw this on You Tube listed as a thing to do. I recommend it as well. There isn't a lot of parking but if you drive past the place you should see a large parking lot on your right. Just make a right turn and you're there

I’ve lived in the Spring area for over 30 years and don’t travel to Houston often, thanks I45, but made a weekday trip to visit the cistern. I am sooo happy I did. It’s amazing to see the craftsmanship that went into ‘a hole in the ground’ almost 100 years ago. The guides were fantastic with the history, the inside of the cistern, considering the age, is awe inspiring, I can imagine a small intimate instrumental group playing at the base with dim lights and the echoing of their instruments reverberating off the walls. This is a must see…just do t wait 30 years to do so.

I was yearning for some awe and I got a nice dose on my tour of the Cistern. I did both the self guided and historic tours and I enjoyed every bit of my time here. Highlight was the singing by our tour guide. Truly amazing experience

We went in really hot temps so I would have loved more inside AC options however the animal sightings, reptile center and buffalo viewing area were great. We probably will not go back at peak temp times but will be back in the future. Cute gift shop as well.

I suggest trying the Dr Ned and Fay Dudney Clear Creek Nature Center for better views and facilities. ABNC used to be a great place for families and events 15 years ago, and it still has some small marshes for bullfrogs, a couple bison, and a red-tailed hawk enclosure, fine for a walk through. Unfortunately, it is now staffed by those that couldn't make it anywhere else in society due to lack of ability or insecurity.

Such a nice quiet nature filled place to go locally. Saw deer, raccoons, alligators, tons of frogs! Take family and friends there when they come to town. Beautiful place to go.

Always a great time when we visit! We happened to arrive just in time for their boat ride and decided to join in. It was a wonderful experience that took about 1.5hrs. we saw many birds and alligators. Late winter and early spring is a great time to see migrant birds and mating displays. We were told that there is a bald eagle couple staying here but did that sight them today. The trails are always pleasant with a variety of wildlife to find. We also enjoy seeing the bison. There are also plenty of programs available for people of all ages to enjoy. A big plus is the cleanliness of all areas including the bathrooms. All the staff members were amazing at providing us a lot of information about the area and animals and provided us with great service. We're always looking forward to visiting!

The sunset pontoon tour was wonderful! We had a great time and saw alligators, deer, herons, and egrets. I highly recommend it and your payments help continue conservation efforts!

Loved this place, so much information on local wildlife and plants. Trails can be very intense, come prepared with plenty of water.

Beautiful space! I went with a school field trip and then returned with my family for their fall festival. Their educational program for the school trip was tailored just for our students at no extra cost! The fall festival had a lot of old timey prairie activities, fun for all ages! Their other events look fun too!

Was hot when we went so bring lots of water and bug spray, you sit on the grass or stand on the bridge to watch the bats the only thing I was hesitant about was the parking. We arrived super early hoping to get a parking spot but no luck we had to end up parking waaaaaay far away and walk. I think if I end up going again I would map out a parking location before I head to the area because once you get there traffic is so fast you don't have time to look or search. It was very quick and only lasted about half an hour then they are gone. But it is a good experience and something to do that is free besides parking

I followed previous reviewers advice and parked at Whole Foods and walked. It was good advise, as there's no other parking as close, as far as I could tell. There's a sidewalk, but it isn't smooth, so if you're using a wheelchair you'll have trouble. It was really cool to see the bats, and I think the best view was from the bridge itself because you can see them in the distance as well as exiting from under the bridge.

Arrive early to get a parking space along Allen Parkway. If so, then the bridge is a minute or two walking distance away from the bridge. There's an area that provides fun facts about the bats and a grassy hill where you can sit to wait for the bats to fly. Such a neat experience!

An unforgettable experience at the Waugh Bat Colony! Watching thousands of bats take flight at sunset was absolutely magical. A huge shoutout to the Bat Chats volunteer team — their passion, knowledge, and dedication to educating visitors made the evening even more special. They answered every question with enthusiasm and made the event fun for all ages. A must-visit spot in Houston for nature lovers and curious minds alike!!

This was an awesome experience I have been twice and it amazes me at how many bats exit that bridge. I love the facts they have up closer to the street. I saw a boat tour there to watch which seems like it would be an amazing view.

Wow! Go right at dusk it was so cool seeing them! We even brought a flashlight to see I between the cracks when the sun settled. Also, read some cool facts from the internet while there makes the whole experience super cool. Like there are 300,000 Mexican free tail bats! We lucked out and found parking right next to it but I definitely can see how it would be hard to find close parking.

Rating: 4.5 We visited Color Factory on Mother’s Day, and it was a blast. The whole experience was bright, interactive, and full of surprises. We brought our 15-month-old, and she went absolutely wild with joy. That said, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it for most young kids there’s a lot of stimulation, and we just got lucky with how well our little one handled it. The rooms were each like stepping into a different art installation. One had a glowing neon wall that read “YOU ARE MAGIC,” lit with bold rainbow lights that made the whole space feel electric. Another room was a black-and-white striped playground with massive floating pastel balls, it felt like being inside a life-sized pinball machine. Along the way, they handed out sweet treats like lavender ice cream and one flavor called “Black Hole”; both served in vacuum-sealed cones, which was a fun and creative touch. The ice cream was more about presentation than flavor, but still enjoyable. There were tons of fun, Insta-worthy spots throughout, so bring your camera or phone. Just a heads-up: the gift shop is a bit pricey, so plan accordingly if you’re hoping to grab a souvenir. Overall, Color Factory is a great experience for families, couples, or friend groups looking to do something different. Just be ready to engage, explore, and take lots of pictures.

I had an amazing time at Color Factory Houston! This interactive art experience is one of the most fun things to do in Houston for all ages. Every room was vibrant, creative, and beautifully designed — the colors, music, and lighting made each space feel like its own little world. The transitions between rooms kept things exciting, and the photo opportunities were endless! The QR code photo stations were easy to use and made capturing memories effortless. I loved the thoughtful touches too — the purse hooks and water holders were genius! I felt like a kid again, running around and exploring every corner. It’s such a joyful, hands-on experience whether you’re going solo, with friends, or as a family. And the cherry on top? Ending the visit with a delicious black ice cream! 🍦 Highly recommend Color Factory if you’re looking for a fun, colorful, and unique Houston attraction.

Color Factory was such a great time. You have plenty of time and space to go through all of the rooms. The staff was amazing and so sweet. 10/10 experience with so many cute photo stops along the way.

The rooms are fun. Even though we went at a slow time, we were there with a family that just didn't respect us and would allow their children to just grab at everything and just do as they pleased. That kinda made it less enjoyable. For the price I was not too happy that we where rushed or could not enjoy each h room like we would of liked

Fun place. Second time here since child really likes this place. All staff members were very nice. I was surprised to see that the ice cream is now charged. It is not longer free even though the website still has a picture of it.

This place was really fun and a great way to spend time with my partner. So many opportunities for memorable photos. This place is great for any group size, but is a great environment for a date night.

Great experience with the kids today at this Houston location, can’t complain about one issue other than parking was hard. All the rooms was pretty cool for the child to enjoy for about an hour and a half.
