Children's museum
Museums
The Children's Museum of Indianapolis stands as a beacon of creativity and learning, proudly holding the title of the largest children's museum in the world. This vibrant destination is packed with interactive exhibits that captivate young minds, from exploring dinosaur bones in Dinosphere to immersing themselves in a recreation of modern Greece complete with charming sidewalk cafes. Visitors can enjoy a delightful ride on a historic carousel or gaze at the stunning 43-foot Dale Chihuly glass sculpture that greets them at the entrance.
Wonderful adventure! First, I was kind of shocked at the cost of admission. As an IN resident on a Monday, it was $98 for me and my 2 children to get in. Once inside, I was much more understanding! I'll be applying our admission today towards a membership! 5 levels (LL, and 1-4) plus the 7+ acres of outdoor fun! The take-a-break room was fantastic for us when we got sensory overload from the lights and noise and people, specifically after lunch. Speaking of which... cost me $52 for 2 slices of pizza ($6.75 each), 2 breadsticks ($5.50), a salad ($16!), and 3 fountain drinks ($16.85). I expected some fairly high prices but the $16 for a salad and the same price for 3 fountain drinks threw me for a loop. Next time, we'll head out for lunch and come back. 😅 Overall, though, the kids thoroughly enjoyed themselves and are worn out. If you're planning to do all of it in 1 day... don't. We arrived at 11:30 am and at 4:41 pm. We really rushed through after lunch when we realized we still had 2 levels and the outdoor area to still get to. They do offer "second day" passes for cheaper than general admission, but that would've still been another $50 for the 3 of us. With the bottom-tier family membership at $225, 2 visits and it's basically paid for itself!

From the second you see the gigantic dinosaur cracking the building open from the car, it is an amazing experience. Every floor is absolutely packed with amazing exhibits. Things for children and parents, nostalgia at its best. On top of the amazing and beautiful exhibits, they have so many things for little children to do. The playscape is a life saver for kids who need to get some energy out. The staff is so friendly and helpful. They are so open to nursing mothers and mothers with small babies in general when it comes to feeding, relaxing, changing. 100/10 recommend. I'd go even if I didn't have kids with me.
Cindy J — Google review
Very good and large museum for all ages of children. It's interactive and knowledge sharing for children. It's great place to take your children here. You must have enough time in hand to see indoor as well as out door facilities. Nicely made museum.
Sukumar S — Google review
This was probably the highlight of our trip! We spent 6 hours here and recommend planning for a full day here. We bought tickets in advance and took a look at all the exhibits ahead of time so we weren't overwhelmed on where to start. This museum is great for families with kids of all ages. It is super stroller friendly with the ramp to get from one floor to another. You were never more than a tiny walk to a bathroom, great diaper changing areas, water bottle refills, and benches. The Playscapes area was great for our toddler to run around and burn off some energy. All three of our kids loved the outdoor sports exhibit! They played hockey, baseball, football, basketball, took a lap around the mini speedway, and climbed through the tree! This place has it all. The cafeteria was excellent for lunch and has a highchair. Lots of great learning and core memories made here! Cannot recommend enough!
Jenna W — Google review
Great immersive museum for children. There’s areas for babies and under 5 and then areas meant for kids 8-9+ and plenty for adults to see as well. Unfortunately the weather was a bit cold so we missed the outside sports area, but it looked very fun. The blown glass sculpture and water clock were were impressive, as were the large dinosaurs inside and outside. Free parking was great, but I wish adult admissions weren’t so expensive or perhaps a discount for second parent to offset the price. It was around $90 for our family of 3. If we lived closer we’d definitely become members.
Mike V — Google review
The 3 little ones and some family really had an amazing time at the Museum. They were able to create(color) their own dinosaur and watch it come to LIFE! They tried the outdoor sports center and went up the huge treehouse! Enjoyed playing music and seeing all of the different exhibits. They had a great time and absolutely LOVED it!
Sabrina J — Google review
Super cool experience and highly recommend! Going on Thursdays at 4 pm will get you a big discount on tickets. Is a great place for children to be children and explore a safe space where everything is touchable.
Paradise W — Google review
My family has always wanted to try this museum but the timing never worked out until yesterday! We went on a summer weekday when some Indiana schools were already in session. We went with 4 adults and three kids ages 4, 9 & 11. We bought tickets in advance and parked in the free covered lot. Entry was a breeze and my kids immediately found activities to interest them. We ate at the museum and the food was good (better than many other museums) and very good choices. Prices seemed fine. We were busy from 11-3 and then had to leave but missed two floors! I think my 11yo might be aging out but anyone into sports or solving mysteries would still love it! I would go back! The special Peru exhibit was our favorite, followed by the sports area and the Rube Goldberg Machine.

The Indiana State Museum is a must-visit attraction in Indianapolis, offering a diverse range of exhibits that cover everything from fossils to pop culture. Located within the scenic White River State Park, the museum is surrounded by other notable attractions such as the NCAA Hall of Champions sports museum and the Eiteljorg Museum. Visitors can also explore nearby landmarks like Victory Field and Lucas Oil Stadium. Additionally, history enthusiasts will appreciate the opportunity to delve into Indiana's rich heritage, including connections to U.S.
Holy COW this museum was great! Firstly, it is organized chronologically, as opposed to most museums which are organized by genre/concept. This made it feel more akin to a journey through time in Indiana. The exhibits also included miniature images of the state with a pin placed to show where in Indiana each artifact was found! So cool! Certain exhibits, particularly fossils, also included sculpted casts by the information plaques, I'm assuming for blind visitors to "see" the exhibits with their hands. This was very neat as well! The facility was clean and the café (especially the customer service!!!) was great.

Leaving a review and shout out for Erica Montgomery, the Event Coordinator there. My Wife and I booked an area for our wedding last week and when I say Erica is the best, she is the best. From the communication, care, above and beyond effort, to the actual day of running back and forth bridging the gaps, her assistance was vital, appreciated, and treasured. She left no stone unturned and even provided us with ideas that made our day absolutely perfect. I can't thank her enough and to recommend the ISM for your special day. Again, thank you to ISM and thank you to Erica for being a Core Memory of ours for a lifetime. Highly recommended.

This place has amazing grounds. We came when they were closed so we walked around outside. They had at least 80 pieces of art on the outside of their building and around the property. You can easily spend a couple hours walking out the beautiful property. Overall if you want to kill some time with the family and see some beautiful art this is the place to check out.

Huge space. Staff is very kind. There is something for everyone. Kids have a lot of the 3rd floor. Basement is where you'll find mammoths and the large skeletons. Famous people from Indiana is cool too.

The Indianapolis Zoo, located in White River State Park, is a popular destination for both locals and tourists. Spanning 64 acres, it houses over 3,800 animals from various species. Visitors can explore a wide range of exhibits featuring rare and endangered creatures such as white rhinos, Amur tigers, Guinea baboons, red pandas, and Komodo dragons. The zoo offers interactive experiences including live feedings and trainer shows that appeal to all ages.
What’s not to love about the Indianapolis Zoo? Having a membership for two years now, my family has fully experienced all the finest parts of the zoo over and over again. The membership pays for itself after only two visits a year, and we’ve gone at least 10-12 times each year. From ZooBoo to Christmas at the Zoo are the iconic ones, but the times during the weekdays when there are no field trips or herds of children are the best for my part-time home wife. My daughter has fed giraffes, pet kangaroos, had her face painted and ate Dippin’ Dots on her birthday, rode the train, watched dolphins splash her, gave high-fives at the plexiglass at the orangutangs, smelled flowers, asked why Flamingos are pink, and almost has a visual map in her head of the entire park. Have I mentioned she just turned three years old? My son is 9 months old, and he’s had a handful of times already at the zoo, and the amount of experiences the zoo has provided has sustained into our home with imagination zookeeping, making animal noises, reading out of picturebooks her favorite zoo animals, and instead of “Old MacDonald had a farm” it is now “Old MacDonald had a zoo!”. As a former educator for 15 years, I have witnessed students who have had experiences outside of the home greatly enrich their education and their overall social capital. Having my daughter exposed to so much of the world in the middle of the heartland of Indiana, through the Indianapolis Zoo, I know that she will find her passions in helping conserve and create a better world for the next generations with the education she’s learning here. I am inspired to continue inviting her into these spaces, and I look forward to seeing the wanderlust my son will have for these escapades to the jungle and prairie and everywhere in the park. If I could give 10 Google reviews with 5-stars, I would give so much emphasis on how essential it is to get a membership, show up and provide the story of the Indianapolis Zoo to embed into your children, and watch them become fuller with each visit. And you, as the parent of course, can have unlimited soft drinks while you mosey! THANK YOU, Indy Zoo! You have members for life!
Erik L — Google review
What a great experience, went during the week, less crowded. It was our first time at the zoo. It was gorgeous. I loved all the places that you can and just sit and observe the animals. The park was so clean. I can't say enough great things about the staff, they were so kind and offered up all the events coming up at the zoo. You must take the time to visit the chimpanzees and the orangutans. They so much room to move around, you always have to be on the lookout. Love Indianapolis zoo can't wait to go back.
Lisa C — Google review
We took the kids to the Indianapolis Zoo during a weekend trip, and it was a great time all around. The place is huge — you could easily spend half a day wandering around without realizing it. We saw all the big hitters: elephants, giraffes, kangaroos, and a bunch of others that I’m pretty sure my kids renamed halfway through (“Look, it’s a long-necked horse!”). We splurged on feeding the giraffes and flamingos, and it was totally worth it — the kids were thrilled, and we got some great photos out of it. We also took them on the little rollercoaster, which they absolutely loved (and which gave us a much-needed break from walking). The dolphin show was definitely the highlight — entertaining, well done, and a nice break from all the walking. The zoo was packed since the weather was perfect and they were handing out candy to kids dressed up for Halloween, so it had a fun, festive vibe (and a sugar-fueled chaos energy). We grabbed some food from one of the stalls expecting the usual overpriced “theme park” meal, but honestly? It wasn’t bad at all. The fries, chicken tenders, and nachos actually hit the spot — maybe we were just starving, but still, solid effort. All in all, 4 stars — great experience, awesome for families, and bonus points for not charging $20 for fries. Just be ready for crowds if you go on a nice day!
Mazin Q — Google review
I've been to a handful of zoos in my life. The Indianapolis Zoo is my favorite that I've been to. The layout made for a wonderful experience as we moved from one exhibit to another. I also think the gardens and foliage planted along all the exhibits really added to it. We went on a Wednesday in the middle of August. Crowds were light which made for an easy viewing of all exhibits. All the animals were active. Watched the cheetahs chase each other around. Then we were lucky to see them get feed raw meat by the zoo keepers. The dolphin show was fun. The tropical bird and butterfly enclosures were awesome to walk through. I'd highly recommend making this zoo a destination if you visit Indianapolis.
Mr. W — Google review
Go now, in October, it is decorated beautifully. I love going. Landscaped and waling layout gives you curvy trails of shade and quiet areas to enjoy seeing the animals. The plants are amazing, such a variety. The front had the cutest Halloween/October themes. If you are a Purdue employee, check out the deep discount, buy it now and use it any day. Everything is just beautiful.
Crystal B — Google review
Loved the place. Went with my baby and he absolutely loved all the animals. Even got to see some animals we never thought we'd see in our lifetime. Also great to talk with the zookeepers as they really care about the animals and the wellbeing of their species

✨ As a wedding photographer, I absolutely love working at the Indianapolis Zoo! Not only are the grounds stunning—with so many unique backdrops that make wedding photos truly magical—but the staff is also incredibly kind and helpful to work with. From start to finish, they were organized, welcoming, and made the day run so smoothly—not just for the couple, but for us vendors, too! There’s something so special about celebrating a love story surrounded by nature, and the zoo offers that in the most beautiful way. It’s a one-of-a-kind venue, and I always look forward to capturing weddings here! Highly recommend for couples looking for a venue that’s both elegant and fun!
Courtney C — Google review
Hands down, middle of the week mornings are the best time to go. The Zoo has made so many improvements, and is looking amazing. With that comes the constant construction. However, its is 100% worth the minor inconvenience. If this is your first time considering the Zoo, DO IT ! Definitely top of the list things to do with the kiddos. The outdoor event center is absolutely stunning, and provides an abundance of shade for relaxing under.

Located in downtown Indianapolis, the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art is a unique attraction celebrating the art and culture of Native Americans across North America. The museum features a vast collection of paintings, sculptures, and jewelry-making with a special focus on Native American cultures. With over 74,000 square feet of space including an outdoor amphitheater, it offers something for everyone from colorful fine art that appeals to young children to fascinating stories that history buffs will revel in.
What a great specialty art museum! We saw Remington's very first bronze in "Attitudes: The West in American Art." (That bronc rider doesn't stand a chance--he's lost one of his stirrups.) We saw all kinds of contemporary beadwork in "Radical Stitch." There was tons more Native art upstairs, from the coast to coast up to Alaska and Canadian tribes. Plus, there were interactive activities that I just had to play with. We spent about two and a half hours there and explored just about everything.
Janet K — Google review
Beautiful art! For your average spectator, you can be through in an hour. They have hands- on, interactive things like putting together puzzles, sketching art, etc. The family zone downstairs was a hit with our students!! They got so into running the restaurant and taking care of the horses. The onsite cafe has good fresh food options .
Keiron M — Google review
This museum was PHENOMENAL. The variety of artwork was amazing. We really enjoyed how the museum showcased not only “conventional” native artwork, but also made a point of showing how native artists use traditional techniques with modern materials to highlight issues that they currently face in today’s culture. The museum is a must see if you’re visiting Indianapolis. The children’s area is also packed full of hands-on play opportunities.
Josie A — Google review
Definitely a great place to walk around. They have lots of sculptures and random art pieces around the property. Even without going inside this place has a lot to offer. Their grounds were clean with a peaceful atmosphere. Outback they had multiple sets of corn hole/bags which was a nice thing for the kids. Overall this is a nice place to see art and kill some time with the family.
Coach T — Google review
I’m not a art expert but I enjoyed the Eiteljord. Lots of beautiful American Indian artworks, Western paintings (including lesser known Georgia O’Keeffe pieces), sculptures, and other interesting displays. The day we went there was an exhibit of Inuit art which was very interesting. The cafe is pretty good too. Validated parking is a plus.

words cannot do the eiteljorg museum justice 💖 you will find breathtaking, touching, powerful pieces that will re-shape your view on "america" as you know it. ever since my first indian market visit, ive made it a summer tradition to visit! its always an amazing experience here. you simply have to come and find out for yourself! chin'an shida gasht'ana 🙌🙏🪶

White River State Park, located in the heart of downtown, is a sprawling urban park along the banks of the White River. It features a diverse range of attractions including a zoo, amphitheater, and cultural venues such as museums and theaters. Visitors can enjoy activities like strolling along the riverside trail or exploring the canal walk with options for gondola rides and paddleboat rentals. The park also houses Victory Field, home to minor league baseball's Indianapolis Indians.
Wow, I happened upon this park at the recommendation of the front desk at the hotel I was staying at. Walked around 3 miles or so of the surrounding canal walkway and park area. The area is absolutely gorgeous and extremely well maintained. Being from Cleveland, it was fantastic to see how this park was set up and how the canal path ran through the heart of downtown. Loved being able to sight see while exploring. All the museums and art areas were easily accessible as a result of how the walkway was laid out.

White River State Park is extraordinary! It truly stands out among Indianapolis's many green spaces, and we had a beautiful Sunday afternoon exploring it. The park boasts stunning lawns, serene water features, the river, a lovely pedestrian bridge, public art, and picturesque views. We especially enjoyed walking our dogs along the promenade near the zoo. Plus, its location is incredibly convenient, offering easy access to numerous other attractions like the ballpark, museums, and the canal. You could spend hours here and still not cover it all. In terms of parking, there is an underground parking garage immediately next to the park.

It was a nice river walk. It would have been even better if we had found a coffee shop or some food places and test area near the canal.

I absolutely love White River State Park and the Amphitheater! Always clean, always professional and willing to assist with needs and wants, both in phone contact and on the premises. What a great place. Everyone we stopped and asked a question of was so helpful and polite. Their directions were spot in. We had general admission tickets and found some great seats up in the grandstands right before turn one. Simply a perfect day.

Went to see the renovated museum and take the track tour. Very nice updates to the museum with many realistic displays. The 8 minute movie was a very immersive experience . The museum was a little smaller than expected with lot of empty floor space for crowds or additional displays later.

Phenomenal historical visit. Not an Indy car or nascar guy, but the place was awesome! Museum was stellar, people were very friendly, and you could feel the history all around you. Track tour was awesome and the volunteers were very knowledgeable and you can tell they love what they do. Would highly recommend this one in you’re ever in Indy!

Amazing racing venue. Unfortunately went on a half rainy day, but it was very cool to walk around the inside of the track. Lots of great angles, specifically the back straight and turns 12-14 (last set of turns). Would definitely see another GT3 race here again.

We visited to see the museum and speedway. Museum was fun and has a lot of what you'd expect. Would recommend getting the additional tickets at the end of the tour to travel to the tracks (they have a few different tours). Went on off season so it wasnt too crowded.

Had a great time at the Brickyard 400!! Indianapolis was one of the best speedway I've been to hands down The staff and concessions people were extremely nice and courteous. If you wanted it to eat or drink, they had it. Food tasted amazing. Will definately be coming back!!

Wonderful experience! Easy to order tickets online with your timing when you would like to go. We ordered it 2 hours before but I am sure you could just walk in. It was clean, easy to grasp the whole museum and we got to see two cars on the track. It is an interactive museum for all ages.

Eagle Creek Park is a sprawling natural oasis, boasting 1,400 acres of water and 3,900 acres of lush greenery. This expansive city park offers an array of activities for visitors to enjoy. From hiking and biking trails to a marina and beach, the park provides numerous opportunities for outdoor adventure. Nature enthusiasts can explore the Earth Discovery Center with its live exhibits of native wildlife and interactive educational programs.
★★★★★ Love It Here – Just Missing a Water Park! Eagle Creek is one of our favorite places — we’ve been going almost every Saturday or Sunday since 2023. The hiking trails are beautiful, the nature is peaceful, and it’s a great place to relax. The only thing that would make it even better is if they built a beautiful, amazing water park with pools and fun features for families. It would make Eagle Creek an even more exciting destination, especially in the summer. We already love it, but that would take it to the next

Hiking at Eagle Creek is seriously such a blast! I love wandering along the trails and taking in all the crazy cool views. , the peaceful sound of running water make it super relaxing but also fun. Every turn gives you a new awesome sight, and I can’t help but stop and just soak it all in. The fresh air and beautiful scenery make it one of my favorite spots to chill and enjoy nature. Honestly, I always have the best time there!

A very nice park! We saw a raccoon who was getting in to the trash, and the birds in the sanctuary were quick active! LOVED the buzzard gal! I wish I could remember her name. She was so curious! <3 A lovely please to walk, jog, or take the kids! I am sad to see that people arnt picking up after their dogs at the main entrance, it's quite rude. Hopefully those pet owners do better.

Lovely place for hiking within the city! Visiting the park was a truly delightful experience, filled with natural beauty and tranquility. The trails were well-maintained, offering a pleasant walk for all skill levels. We thoroughly enjoyed the variety of activities, from bird watching to simply relaxing by the water. The park's cleanliness and overall atmosphere created a welcoming environment for everyone. I would highly recommend a visit to anyone seeking a refreshing escape in nature.

Come here frequently for paddle boarding and it's always an enjoyable time. They have a great area for loading in your boat and even a small dock to temporarily rope up. I appreciate that there are speed limit for boats and that there are safety boats in the resvior. It's also pretty decent for fishing, not the best but still fun.
Natalia C — Google review
LOVED this walk but rated it low because I wish there were more accessibility signs and trails. We have an infant so we were pushing the stroller along the blue trail which started out great but I wish there was a sign halfway to turn around because you can’t get back up to the parking lot on one side it’s rocky (we were able to carry the stroller/car seat separately up the hill but it’s not for the weak 🤪). Otherwise we enjoyed the walk & pelicans.

Beautiful park around of a lake offering a wonderful landscape where walking, fishing, navigating, or having a picnic or BBQ. Also, you can use a bike. The park offers different trails from 1.25 to 6 miles. It's a good idea to arrive early.

We were at the Eagle Creek Park with our friends for Kayaking today. The water was so calm, you can either rent out kayaks or get your own kayaks too. There’s single and double options. They also have lot of other options to ride on the water. There is also picnic area by the Marina, you can set up and have a leisure day under the shade of trees.

The Indianapolis Cultural Trail is a fantastic way to explore the heart of downtown Indianapolis, whether you're cycling or enjoying a leisurely stroll. This eight-mile paved path weaves through six vibrant neighborhoods, including Mass Ave and Fountain Square, showcasing the city's rich tapestry of art galleries, parks, monuments, museums, and gardens. Officially known as the Indianapolis Cultural Trail: A Legacy of Gene & Marilyn Glick, this trail connects three unique public spaces and serves as an urban oasis that links various cultural attractions.
If you're seeking an inspiring and unique way to experience Indianapolis, the Indianapolis Cultural Trail is your answer! This trail is a testament to the city's unique character, offering a glimpse into its hidden gems, from serene parks and vibrant playgrounds to eclectic restaurants and cozy coffee shops. The trail offers a sense of empowerment, allowing you to choose the mode of transportation that suits you best. Whether you decide to conquer the entire 8-mile-long trail or opt for a shorter, more leisurely stroll, like my mom and I did, the choice is yours. We explored the downtown part of the trail, close to the federal building, all the way down to the river trail. It was a short distance, but it was a journey filled with memorable experiences. One of the things I loved about the trail was how many interesting sculptures and pieces of art we saw along the way. Each one had a description and information about the artist, which added to the experience. We also stumbled upon some fantastic restaurants and coffee shops that we probably wouldn't have found otherwise. Overall, if you're visiting Indianapolis and looking for a fun and unique way to explore the city, I recommend checking out the Indianapolis Cultural Trail. It's a gem that's worth discovering!

Easy way to see the city as a tourist, just follow this paved road by foot or by bike. We did the entire trail (loop + bottleworks district) of 13km by foot, it was a good workout. 2 things to note: 1. You sometimes go around attractions and monuments so good idea to sometimes deviate from the trail otherwise you miss some monuments. For example we deviated to follow the canal at some point which was nicer. 2. Buy some drinks/water beforehand, very little amount of shops on the loop before you get to Bottleworks. Otherwise great idea, more cities should do this!

My husband and I did a date day here, there was so much to see with 4 floors of art exhibits, cafes spaced throughout and the amazing gardens all around the outside. We weren't able to see it all in one trip, and will go back soon. I'd love to visit the gardens in every season. There are lots of walking trails too that we will enjoy another time.

The ever changing gardens are an Indy highlight. Love the October and December light events. Cocktails outdoors while walking and enjoying make it extra special. Fun for families and an annual tradition for ours! The exhibits indoors are fun to try on Sundays. Yes, sports in Indy are important too, but so are culture, history and ART!

One of the highlights during a recent visit to Indianapolis. Even as adults, we were delighted by the interactive displays. And, despite light rain, our walk around the grounds was wonderful. Then, of course, there is all the amazing art. Our meals in the cafe were tasty and pricing was on par with other area options.

A beautiful place with ruins and little gardens throughout. There are some nice trails some of which lead to the river. Seems like a great place to take your dog, too. They have yoga and meditations here during the summer and I believe concerts as well.

This park feels like a hidden gem. The grounds are so thoughtfully cared for, every corner inviting you to slow down and breathe. The ruins stand beautifully against the landscape—quiet, timeless, and full of character. Though I didn’t walk the trail this time, it calls me back for another visit. The peaceful atmosphere, paired with the joy of being able to bring my dog along, made the experience even more special. Truly an amazing place to escape and just be.

For literature enthusiasts, the Kurt Vonnegut Museum & Library is a hidden gem nestled near the Canal Walk in Indianapolis. This captivating museum pays homage to one of America's most celebrated satirical writers, known for iconic works like 'Slaughterhouse-Five' and 'Cat's Cradle.'
Stopped in for a quick visit today to avoid the rain and would have loved to curl up there with a book. There’s lots of spots to sit and read & write, a cocktail bar, a gift shop, and of course the history of Vonnegut’s life and works. The displays are modern and interesting. There’s a small parking lot, clean restrooms, and an elevator.
Krista B — Google review
Loved them museum. Such a nice tribute to one of our country’s best authors. The gift shop had a lot of his books some of which you don’t see as often. They also have a coffee shop and a great balcony to sit and enjoy a nice day. I would stop back again.
Josh H — Google review
This is a great museum. It has many artifacts from Kurt Vonnegut's life and work. But that's not all. There is a focus on the things that mattered to him: freedom of expression, local jazz and being a decent human. There is a small concession area that serves snacks and drinks, including some alcohol (after noon for that) as well as a beautiful balcony with views of downtown. Patrons can even rent books. Each time I go I am delighted by something I didn't notice the time before. They offer multiple educational activities and are activists in the fight against censorship. It is also part of N.A.R.M. (North American reciprocal Museum) program. What else could you ask for? Yes there is a small gift shop too.

This was #1 on my attractions in Indy list & I'm so glad i made it! We made it in for Free Visit Mondays (first Monday of each month) ! What a great exhibit with passionate staff. My mom and I spent a good maybe two hours exploring the 3 levels. I think my favorite memorabilia was his actual type writer that you are allowed to try out. A lot of great art as well. They also have a little bar with coffee and alcohol. I will say though, yall are severely missing an opportunity by not having any merch with "So it goes" on it, and or "everything was beautiful and nothing hurt." Those are my favorite quotes and i was a lil sad there wasnt more of that incorporated. Would've loved a little gravestone tee or sticker with one of those slogans. I did however purchase 3 books and another sticker :) happy to have been able to experience this and it's very appreciated to see the activism and education that this establishment brings. Thank yall so much! Hope it stays open forever!

The perfect stop for any true Vonnegut fan. The slaughterhouse five exhibit on the third floor is worth the visit alone. It's a miracle he survived. God must have had a plan for him to write those great works....

The genius Kurt Vonnegut!! Being a big fan, I took the opportunity to check out the museum. I enjoyed it! It’s three levels of a building, so there’s a lot to see. The ticket price was fair. The staff were friendly. If you’re a fan I would definitely recommend checking it out!

What a wonderful tribute to one of the best authors that ever lived. Many times I was moved to tears in this, not just from excitement but from the stories shared within the exhibits. Each floor was exciting and new, offering different insight into KV’s life. Lots of awesome items on display, such as his personal typewriter and numerous copies of Cats Cradle in different languages. The gift shop had the best gifts for any KV fan and even some books you don’t see very often. The young woman in the gift shop was super friendly and made our visit seamless. I will absolutely be back! Loved this place!

I had the pleasure of visiting in July, and this turned out to be the highlight of my summer! I highly recommend that all Vonnegut fans go out of their way to include this stop in their travels, as it is a true gem. Their collection of artifacts is amazing, and the staff are knowledgeable and extremely kind. My personal favorite part was getting to actually sit at Kurt's desk and type on one of his typewriters. What a treat! Thank you, Kurt Vonnegut Museum & Library for going above and beyond to offer a wonderful experience. You're doing important work :)

Worth the price: the guide gave a thorough introduction of the housing as well as the family structure of President Benjamin Harrison. I loved the interesting stories about Harrison’s children and his early career the most!

Though originally from Ohio, Harrison moved to Indiana as an adult and lived here after his presidency. To see the house you join a tour, which is full of information, some well known and some less well known. At the end of the tour we learned his 2nd wife is the reason this house and much of his presidential memorabilia still exists.

The Indiana Medical History Museum offers guided tours and a collection of artifacts that provide insight into 19th-century medical practices within an 1890s pathology facility. Situated on the grounds of the former Central State Hospital, this museum showcases old laboratories, preserved brain specimens, and the nation's oldest surviving pathology facility, the Old Pathology Building. Visitors can also explore the Medical Plant Garden featuring over 120 medicinal plants from around the world.
An amazingly preserved building with so many original artifacts. I liked sitting in the teaching theater, reading the stories behind each of the brain specimens, peering around the autopsy room, and marveling at the beautiful wood and tile cabinets. Great guided tour - I just wished for more time to look around before going onto the next room. You get to go into almost every single room upstairs and downstairs!

Extremely advanced. I highly recommend. Tours on the hour. Best to book in advance Medical Herb Garden outside has a plethora of native plants used for medicinal purposes Plants In individual gardens ...one for breathing and the lungs,.another cardiovascular..I stayed in the gardens researched plants for 45 min!
Taryn H — Google review
I'll start by saying you NEED TO BOOK A GUIDED TOUR IN ADVANCE! I knew this ahead of time, but some people may not, so I'm putting it here first! All tours are guided because the museum and building are almost entirely original and not reconstructions!!! It is somewhat of a morbid story- you can view cross-sections of brains with conditions and tumors, accompanied by stories of the people they were removed from, their symptoms, and how each individual was admitted to central state. The tour guides and employees are very friendly and helpful!!
David S — Google review
Beautiful museum and the guide was very knowledgeable. I definitely recommend buying tickets in advance as the tour groups are kept small due to space. Photography is allowed, but no video or audio. Also, they won’t let you in until just before your tour time starts, so don’t get there too early.
Zophael R — Google review
This is an amazing piece of history and I'm so glad it has been preserved for us to visit. There are so many interesting things there and the guide had so many interesting stories. I only wish there was more time to look around at things and read all the information on our own.

First of all, you need to make an appointment to tour this place. David, our tour guide and board member, was wonderful. Made my husband's and my experience exceptional. It was a very knowledgeable and one-of-a-kind experience. They also have a medicinal garden that explains what certain plants were used for back in the day.
Aunty F — Google review
Absolutely amazing experience. This site is beautiful esthetically and filled with such rich history. Anyone will find this information interesting, and especially those who have a passion for medicine and mental health. Our docent, Josie, was knowledgeable and so personable. You could see in her presentation that she has such passion for the facility's history and was a fabulous presenter. I could have spent days reading all the anecdotes, viewing the preserved specimens, and appreciating the artistic style of the building. One hour went by in a flash! We were passing through Indy on a road trip, and this was the only landmark we visited. Zero regrets. 100/10 will return again.
Candace R — Google review
This place was absolutely fascinating. Apparently, it's quite the hidden gem since no one that I talked to who lives in Indianapolis even knew it existed. I'm thankful that Google local guides gave it such glowing reviews. I'm going to add my glowing review as well. The tour guide I had was truly knowledgeable. He took extra time and was really great at answering questions. So much history has been remarkably well preserved. The architecture was very functional and they explain all of that to you. Some of it is pretty macabre, but my wife is a trauma nurse and said she could've spent another 10 to 20 hours in there, and way more if they'd actually let you read the books. The autopsy table, the death room, the lecture hall, the chemical production room, so much stuff they did back then is still in use today, it's just much easier to do now. There are brains and pieces of brains in jars, with the tumors and such clearly described. It was easy to get to, had plenty of parking, and even a garden of medicinal plants that have little tags by them explaining what they were used for. Appointments are required. There is a flight of stairs, and they are old stairs with at least one 90 degree turn in them, so probably not wheelchair friendly. This was definitely worth visiting and I'll go again next time I'm in town if I have enough time to spare. So worth it.

The Indiana War Memorial & Museum, located in Indianapolis, is a tribute to the city's rich military history. Situated within the Indiana World War Memorial Plaza, this free museum commemorates the USS Indianapolis heavy cruiser and its significant role in American naval history during WWII. Visitors can explore various exhibits and artifacts that tell the story of the ship and its crew.
The Indiana War Memorial is a powerful and moving tribute to the state’s veterans, set in a beautifully designed neoclassical building. The memorial honors sacrifice with dignity and offers a quiet, reflective space right in the heart of the city.

Excellent history of the US military, from the French-Indian War to the present, told from the point of view of Indiana. Huge collection of artifacts augmented with videos, dioramas, models, and more. I loved the display comparing the shoes and boots worn by competing armies in WWI, for example. Nothing really hands-on for kids, though. Some of the mannequins were worn, with cracks running all over their faces. But most things looked well maintained. I was impressed with how well the museum showed Black and women involvement in military history, including in the state of Indiana. Beyond the historical displays, there was a stunning auditorium. The upstairs was closed when we were there. (They were in the process of repairing a leaking roof.) So we missed seeing what is supposed to be a spectacular shrine up there. There was no cost to enter, but we left a donation. There are multiple levels. I did notice lifts for wheelchairs by some of the stairs. There was plenty of paid on-street parking available nearby.

Such a cool "attraction" in Indianapolis. However, the sole reason for going was the upstairs space with the flag and the soldiers monument. It was closed for maintenance. I was not happy about that, but just bad luck on our part. It is free to visit and I recommend doing so. Poignant section on 9/11 with Hoosiers who lost their lives, and an entire section on the U.S.S. Indianapolis.

This is a really cool monument with a free museum. If you like beautiful buildings you need to see this one. Highly recommend 💚💯💯

This is great museum! I learned information about the 9/11 attack on New York, I learned about the soldiers that were underground they have a proper name and I do apologize for not remembering. If someone knows what they're called please let me know. These soldiers were underground in narrow, dark, labyrinths. They even had to be able to load their guns in complete darkness because they only had a flashlight to use. I learned about the meaning as-salaamu alaykum this means "peace be upon you". There's so much to see here and it's free admission. The lady who works at the front desk was very polite, and friendly. Overall I enjoyed the museum I learned about so much and I would definitely come again.

So glad we were able to see this. A lovely tribute to our service men and women, in a really cool building with lots of history.

Indianapolis, Indiana, has the largest acreage dedicated to war memorials in the U.S., with 25 acres in the Indiana War Memorial Plaza Historic District, honoring veterans from various wars. This district is a historic landmark that features multiple parks, fountains, and various monuments, including the Indiana War Memorial and the Soldiers and Sailors Monument.
Chitendra G — Google review
The museum is by donation only. There's no entrance fee. The tower is closed for repairs. They are hoping to open again by the end of this year. It's a large museum with lots of information specific to Indiana war history and the residents that fought in them. The building is art deco, just gorgeous! It's definitely worth going to see.

Rhythm! Discovery Center is a unique destination that offers visitors the chance to delve into the rich history of percussion. As the world's only interactive drum and percussion museum, it provides an immersive experience through exhibits, archives, and hands-on opportunities to play various percussion instruments. The center showcases a diverse range of artifacts from different cultures, allowing guests to explore the cultural and historical significance of percussion in shaping music.
Kids of all ages 2-102+ should love this place. All kinds of different drums to bang on with some nice samples of of display sets. Cowbell? Yes, they have that as well. They have a couple rooms with a drum set that you should definitely check out. You can change the acoustics of the room to get a different sound. Unless you are sensitive to loud sounds, check it out. Well worth the Admission and more. Don't miss the Lego drum set and the set made during WWII when raw materials were rationed.

This place was super cool! I highly recommend going early because the kids and I went when it first opened and we had the place to ourselves. There’s a ton of gongs, bells, shakers, and various other instruments for the kids to try out. Tons! There’s also a few areas which are roped off but the employees explain to you that the museum is interactive except for the roped off areas. There’s interactive screens which tell you about the instruments and two awesome studio spaces you can drum on and change the venue with buttons. Love, love, loved it here and highly recommend it.

Get ready for some noise. They have earbuds for free and earmuffs for little people. My kids had a blast. We definitely went through the whole Museum quickly though. It would be great if they offered headache medicine for the parents lol. Bathrooms were clean and they have water fountain. Drinks aren't allowed which is understandable but with little people extremely hard. Not much staff walking around. Had to go look for someone a couple times.
Yvette K — Google review
Overall pretty interesting place if you like drums, gives you an overall look into the ancient history of percussion and some recent history too. Be prepared to spend about an hour if you're not going to read all of the wall information and about 2 hours if you're going to interact and read and watch absolutely everything there. Big takeaway for me is the 2 soundproof chambers that have drums in them. Super fun but the drawback is that the seats and setup in general is pretty bad for posture. Otherwise cool room!
Timmy L — Google review
Visited Indy so many times and didn't realize this place existed. I started drumming a couple of years ago, but whether a beginner, expert or someone who never played before in their life, this place is a great way to spend an hour or two. Pretty much anything you can hit to make a sound (including giant cymbals, wood blocks and more) as well as classic drum kits (and even one made out of Lego) are here. And much of it you can have a.go on!
Neil F — Google review
I was very fascinated by the different drums and xylophones.. It's a very large circle with instruments you can play and some just for show. It was an easy self guided tour. I would love to come back the next time I am in Indy.
Myrtle M — Google review
It was raining on a Saturday morning, so I decided to take my 4 yr old son to Rhythm! I couldn't have made a better choice. This little enclave of drum heaven is truly a gem. Amidst the hustle & bustle of the mall area, this place is located in the same building as Panera, but has its own unique walkway to reach the center. First and foremost, the staff was courteous from the moment we walked in. The center is designed in a way that leads you around a circle in order to explore the various drum-related activities. Due to this factor, you never feel cramped even though the center is not that large in size. There are more drums located within those walls than I had ever seen in my life, and my son had an amazing time playing the different instruments. Rhythym! provides kids with a safe and creative space to enjoy music.

Nestled within the picturesque Newfields in Indianapolis, Oldfields–Lilly House & Gardens is a captivating historic estate that transports visitors back to the early 20th century. This magnificent French chateau-style mansion, once owned by a prominent businessman, showcases exquisite antique furnishings and classic artwork that reflect its rich heritage. As you explore this National Historic Landmark through guided tours, you'll gain insight into life over a century ago while admiring the beautifully restored interiors and charming Victorian decor.
Orchids and other verdant denizens populate this delightful greenhouse. It's not spacious, but if you enjoy plants and colorful life in any capacity (since you're visiting Newfields, I assume you are), it's 100% worth the detour. Unlike some public gardens, it doesn't seek to achieve lusciousness and color by being overly ordered and sanitized - instead, there is an air of walk-ability that really does provide a "lived-in" sense, and it is all the more welcoming for it. I wonder what the estate grounds look like at night - does it flip towards an eerie Hounds of Baskerville? Or is it even more romantic than it is during the day? Either way, a stroll through it feels like a storybook. By comparison, the inside of the house was much more of a historical site - excellent primary experience of an era gone by in this country. Still very much worth seeing, with an audio tour and a much needed, air conditioned reprieve if you're visiting during the summer months.
Elliott Y — Google review
Beautiful gardens. Thoroughly enjoyed the walk around the grounds and ended with a giant pretzel and 2 glasses of cider! Perfect day spent with my wife!

Bliss escape from the main city area. A lovely experience here which is peaceful. The gardens are well maintained and nice pathways to have an enjoyable walk.
Nas S — Google review
The property and greenhouse of this estate are beautiful. I recommend making sure you have time to see the greenhouse because it is jam packed with plants and tons of orchids. I have never seen this many orchids in my life. I believe the greenhouse itself is from the 1930s, so also cool just to see the building itself.
Lauren B — Google review
* The Lily House (Mansion) is gorgeous in its lighting and antique furnishings. * The Madeline F. Elder Greenhouse is charming, if crowded. * The Wood Formal Garden has a Victorian/neoclassical feel. Entry requires the same day's ticket as for the Newfields Museum. Nothing vaguely resembling a weapon is permissable.
Mark P — Google review
Beautiful place and garden. The beer garden was very nice! We had a pretzel and a couple drinks. One downside was that they were sold out on a Sunday afternoon and had a fairly long wait time when all we wanted was to walk in garden which was not all that busy at all.

Stella R — Google review
First and foremost, I highly recommend visiting the Lilly house during their holiday festivities. I have included photos from the Halloween events but the house is also used for Christmas activities. It’s clever, interesting, and well-worth the money. I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Lilly House and Gardens at Newfields, and it was truly an enchanting experience. The meticulously maintained gardens were a breathtaking sight, with an array of vibrant flowers and lush greenery that created a serene and picturesque atmosphere. Walking through the garden pathways felt like stepping into a tranquil oasis away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The Lilly House itself is a stunning historic gem, exuding elegance and charm. The carefully preserved interiors provide a glimpse into the past, showcasing the rich history and cultural heritage of the region. The knowledgeable staff added to the experience, offering insightful information about the house and its former residents, creating a deeper connection to the space. What truly stood out to me was the seamless blend of art, nature, and history that the Lilly House and Gardens offer. It's a perfect destination for art enthusiasts, history buffs, and nature lovers alike. Whether you're exploring the beautifully curated art collections within the house or simply enjoying a leisurely stroll through the gardens, the Lilly House and Gardens at Newfields is a must-visit destination that leaves a lasting impression of beauty and tranquility.

The Indianapolis Art Center is a renowned riverfront arts center located on a 9.5-acre campus in the Broad Ripple neighborhood. It has been showcasing modern and contemporary art for over a century, offering free exhibitions, classes, workshops, and events. The center features stunning exhibits with a focus on photography and sculptures, as well as an outdoor sculpture garden and a peaceful cafe where visitors can enjoy alfresco dining while admiring the artwork.
Art and nature interspersed to create a charming place to enjoy the outdoors. Kids can roam around with plenty to entertain them. There are places to look over the river. When we went there was a fun community art project inside where you create an ornament to add to a tree on the wall using recycled items. It was a lot of fun and we will definitely go back.

Today’s August 2 it’s a nice summer day, and we came to walk through the sculpture garden. They’re limited sculptures. The landscaping is poorly maintained. The walkways have inconsistent gravel. And there is zero art installation inside. Today is a Saturday. Experience not worth going. Attendant at the front was very nice and helpful and said that at the end of the month, the art exhibit will actually have art

For years I had dreamed of having my wedding reception at the Indianapolis Art Center, and working with Mason and her team was a dream come true. My husband and I toured the facility 15 months before our big day and highly recommend approximately that time frame for a place as popular as this. The IAC referred us to our caterer, and set up our reception seating with tables and linens. Additionally, they took care of tear down after we made our exit. Our guests enjoyed cocktail hour under the portico while we headed to the river for our family pictures. The pergola and Ivy wall were a gorgeous backdrop for our sweet heart table and most breath taking of all were all the hanging string lights. I could not imagine a better setting for an outdoor wedding. Beyond that, we booked the library as a place inside to escape just the two of us for our last dance. Magic.

Nice facility. Great especially if you're interested in creating art. Workshops for just about every medium. Very nice grounds to stroll as well. Enjoyed our visit.
Don C — Google review
Such a great spot! We walked the trails and saw the sculptures. We headed inside to warm up at the little coffee shop. The library was cozy and clean with even some sweet little kid art books. The inside galleries were super cool and the workshops looked fascinating!
Jaime C — Google review
The outside area is pretty with some interesting sculptures, and nicely shaded by green tunnels. The nearby river is calming, with some decent views via the wooden walking platforms. You can also stroll right down to the water if you don’t mind getting a little dirty. The art on display when I visited today is a little too leftwing for my tastes, but hey, that’s art. I wouldn’t bring children through it. I’m not in town long enough to take any classes, but it seems really cool. There is a nice little library down one of the halls. The art center looks nice and pretty well maintained, and the few staff members I ran into seemed polite and helpful.
Jason J — Google review
Easy to find. Easy to park. Lots to see inside. Friendly staff. The exhibits and the river were awesome. My main goal was seeing "the crooked house in the woods". My kid is disabled and while there was ramps to walk, the transition from sidewalk to path was rough. The platform to the river was not accessable via wheelchair but amblitory ppl can access it easily.

Located within the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum is a haven for racing enthusiasts and history buffs alike. The museum boasts an impressive collection of classic race cars, motorcycles, engines, and memorabilia dating back to the late 1800s. It also features a permanent exhibit showcasing the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame. Visitors can immerse themselves in the rich history of racing in Indianapolis and explore winning cars from the renowned Indy 500.
It’s an amazing experience from start to finish. Be sure and take the golf cart tour. Jason was personable and made the tour awesome! The museum is amazing! So many important cars and the building itself is a work of art. The only negative is they need more refreshments due to the amount of time a visitor may spend there. Be sure and talk to the different staff around the museum, they make the visit more informative and some of them have great stories. I highly recommend visiting here whether you e ever watched a race or not.

Wow! The newly renovated floorplan is incredible. The detail and displays are easy to read and purposeful to the history of the track. I felt like I connected to the history of the track through the museum. The movie displays stimulating and felt like I was there. The new STEM/kids area is really for all ages and does an exceptional job bringing the racing experience to your finger tips. Plan extra time for thus area. And the top floor is a tribute to the best of the best showing off race suits and trophies. This truly is a key part of American history as well as the commitment to excellence.

WOW. As a lifelong motorsports fan, I've always enjoyed visiting IMS, though it had been years since I visited the museum. After the recent renovation, this is easily the BEST museum for racing fans everywhere. The exhibits are fantastic, it's spotless and well-laid out, and had a large section for interactive activities (including a bank of simulators)! Best of all though - there was a TON for our young kids to do! A small play area for toddlers, interactive games, and an entire room dedicated to STEAM activities. We got a discount for admission from our local library, but I would have easily paid full price. The IMS staff were so incredibly nice, and were very helpful and chill, even with our crazy 18-month-old running around yelling "CAR!" constantly. Well done, IMS! We will be back!
Cameron C — Google review
Loved it! It's an immersive experience that's well laid out in a modern and very clean facility. For a true racing fan, this is a must-see, especially as it contains so much history and includes not only IndyCar and the Indy 500, but also a NASCAR feature that depicts the history of the Brickyard 400. It is my understanding that the NASCAR display is not a permanent fixture in the museum. However, in my opinion it should be because it features IMS in a broader sense... especially since so many visitors only know it for the Indy 500.

Excellent recommended museum for auto enthusiasts and anyone that enjoys historic racing collectibles. This classic museum just had a $65 million facelift and it is definitely worth checking out. $23 Senior tickets. No line to purchase tickets. Easy parking.

My husband loved touring the museum and seeing all the cars they have on display. I’m not much of a race fan or car enthusiast but found the history very interesting. We spent about an hour touring all three levels. They were testing on the track while we were there, so no track tours that day, but we plan to come back and actually tour the track via golf cart.

This place was full of racing history. I loved the short video presentation. Was an emotional experience for me. Took the podium tour and got our picture taken on the victory podium. They have all sorts of race cars and race memoriblia to see. Would recommend this place to any race fan.

The Central Canal in downtown Indianapolis offers a picturesque waterway that is perfect for various outdoor activities such as walking, jogging, and biking. The canal provides stunning views of the city skyline and is an ideal spot for a leisurely stroll, especially during sunset. Visitors can also explore the diverse shops and restaurants along the canal. Originally built for industrial purposes in the 19th century, the canal has been transformed into a recreational area with paddleboats and kayaks available for rent.
These are a few photos of the beatiful architecture that you get to see while walking along the canal. I really, really enjoy my weekly walks that I take along the canal. I do it for my health and peace of mind.

I came across the Canal Walk while visiting Indianapolis and exploring the city on foot. It turned out to be one of the highlights of my stroll — a peaceful, well-designed path that winds along the water right through the heart of downtown. The atmosphere is relaxed, with a mix of locals and tourists enjoying the scenery, public art, and shaded areas. I saw people kayaking and even pedaling around in water bikes, which added a fun, active vibe to the otherwise calm surroundings. It’s a perfect route for a mindful walk, with plenty of spots to pause, take photos, or just enjoy the blend of nature and city life. If you’re ever in Indy, it’s absolutely worth checking out.

Passing through Indianapolis and decided to check out the central canal before being on my way. Way more beautiful and clean that I expected. No trash, graffiti, or unsavory elements. Residents walking, or jogging and take it all in like me. I walked pretty far along the canal and enjoyed the relaxation.
TheDSsucks — Google review
It's a special place to run, with a great atmosphere. You might come across some duck droppings along the path, so just be mindful and run around them. The scenic views along the way make the run so enjoyable that you forget you're even tired. For me, one loop is about 4–5 km, which is just the right daily distance.
Noppadol J — Google review
This river walk seemed cool ! We went on a weekday & it was less crowded. Didn’t feel unsafe. Well maintained, smelled good . Enjoy beautiful city landscape while walking. Wanted to have a boat ride across the canal but boat riding service was temporarily closed .

A peaceful walk along a well kept canal replete with ducks and geese in the middle of the city is quite a treat. I was staying in an adjacent hotel and returned three times for exercise, fresh air and peace. There is an Italian restaurant complete with gondolas for hire and the boatmen give a running commentary on the area they are passing. It's worth going down to the junction of the canal with White River where manicured lawns and views to the horizon without sight of manmade anything offer some of the glories of nature without the wild danger!

It's small, but it is an entertaining piece of Indiana history. If you have about 15-30 minutes, you could go through the whole thing. There are displays of cars, different uniforms from over the years, a memorial to officers felled in the line of duty, and various other things such as the drunkometer (pictured) and various weapons used by the police over the years. The Catacombs in Indianapolis are a historic underground network of tunnels and passageways located at the northeast corner of Market and Delaware streets. Built over a century ago using limestone and bricks, these tunnels cover about 20,000 square feet and were originally used for transporting perishable goods through the city to keep them cool before refrigeration was widely available.
This is a pretty cool tour, if you like unique places. When you get the chance or if you’re looking for something to do, I’d suggest taking the tour and checking out some Indiana history. Your more than likely gonna enjoy yourself and possibly learn something new. Take your time and soak it in

Pretty neat. Worth a detour. Lots of people I asked about it think it has dead bodies, it is not that type of catacomb. It’s just a really neat brick basement. Currently only open twice a month, likely r/t Covid. Recommend booking in advance, tickets sell out. Note- the portion of the tour through the catacomb is quick. There is no time allotment to take photos. So if you want a photo, make sure to just go ahead get together and take them while your guide is talking.

We were in town for a highschool regionals tournament and needed something to do for the team to decompress a little. This was the perfect spot for just that. The venue is impressive with tons of history across all sports and many interactive things to do. Of course they were in the middle of all of it. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with professionalism and hospitality. The staff are knowledgeable, respectful, and passionate about the NCAA’s mission. The offices are modern and impressive, with inspiring displays that showcase the achievements of student-athletes and the history of collegiate sports. Spent some time with my family at the Hall of Champions. This place isn't for everyone. Being a former college athlete and sports nerd pushed me to see this place! The place could be bigger, but with the limited space, the displays were well done! The second floor was interactive and gave my children the opportunity to test out some of their skills in basketball and soccer. Plan to spend less than 2 hours here!

I first visited the NCAA Hall of Champions in 1991 when the NCAA HQ was still in the Kansas City area where I lived. On this visit I hoped to see what 30+ years and a larger venue would bring. Sadly, it feels like they’ve taken 2 steps backward. Some of the interactive exhibits on the second floor might appeal to children but how do you distill 100+ years of college football onto a 10’x10’ (estimate) panel?!?

The Garfield Park Conservatory is a stunning 10,000 square foot conservatory and sunken garden that showcases a diverse collection of plants from tropical regions worldwide. Designed by renowned German landscape architect George Kessler in 1916, the conservatory boasts an elegant art-deco style with expansive glass panels and houses an array of plant species including ferns, bananas, palms, orchids, coffee, and vanilla.
We stopped in here to pass some time before a concert and were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful it was. We didn't realize there was a gnome event and lots of small children were running around. We still enjoyed our visit, just had a bit of loud background noise while we took in the beautiful scenery. I even purchased a plant to take home with us as a souvenir!

Absolutely gorgeous spot. Highly recommend checking out! Bring a water bottle though, it does get humid inside! Went for the carnivorous plant show and it did not disappoint. Beautiful koi ponds, gorgeous plant specimens, various huge thriving tropical plants. Definitely well maintained environment!

This place is beautiful if your in the area and you have an extra $4 definitely go check it out. They have a big beautiful Thai Constellation that had fruit on it when I was their. The fish come up to the sides and greet you. Overall my friend and I had a great time! The walk ways can be a bit narrow for bigger individuals but other than that I will be back to walk around!

First time visiting. Learned about it through my work at a local community center. We like to take our students there. Great space to explore nature, chill, learn about plant life and just be impressed by wildlife. Great reception from the person at the desk. I will say it was hotter than I expected. The structure is well done, there’s a small trail that takes you all throughout the conservancy. Great spot for photos, and a fun spot for a chill date, and more importantly, to wind down. Oh and they have an outdoor children’s garden outside with chickens that have their own garden to feed. Great spot to explore in the city. Cost was $2/person.

My bestfriend brought me to this beautiful place in March and we had such an incredible experience. The plants and everything around us was so amazing and peaceful and we had the best time learning about everything!!

Beautiful botanical garden. Small but very nice. Sunken gardens outside were under construction.

Random stop to stretch our legs on our journey home... we had so much fun doing their scavenger hunt! (Every garden should do this - it ready made our kid slow down and look at things). Really quirky little gnomes everywhere that our 7 year old got a giggle from. Benches and seats to rest and drink your coffee. Some critter cages with things like snakes and fish were also fun to see. Highly recommend!

Park
Fort Harrison State Park, situated in Lawrence, Indiana, spans 1,700 acres and is built on the former site of Fort Benjamin Harrison. The park offers a range of activities including cross-country skiing, fishing, hiking, and mountain biking. It features historic sites such as a Civilian Conservation Corps camp and a former Citizen's Military Training Camp.
Fort Harrison State Park is a hidden gem, and it's even better when you bring your furry friend! I visited with my cat and had a great time exploring. The Saddle Barns are really fun to check out—unique and full of character. There's a beautiful lake where lots of people were fishing, creating a peaceful, relaxing vibe. I especially loved the free picnic areas with built-in grill tools—perfect for a spontaneous cookout. A great place to spend the day in nature with plenty to see and do!

Great park! I can't believe I waited so long to visit. I went for my New Years Day hike. I was disappointed that there were employees at the gate in New Years it being a holiday and all. I was even more disappointed when she asked for the gate fee and it was 1$ more than the other Indiana State Parks!!! I honestly should say I was appalled. Overall I was impressed. There is a playground with an in grounds slide. The restrooms were very clean and all of the stalls had toilet paper. I walked the 4 mile trail. It was a bit challenging and I found the way the trail winds in and out of the hills interesting. I drove all the roads and found the old barracks and horse stalls. I also drove past picnic areas. The picnic areas had me think about the hot summers we get and how there aren't many trees around for shade. I'd like to go back and hike this park more but unfortunately I think the open hours will conflict with my schedule.
Kelsi W — Google review
The saddle barn was amazing. However, we stayed after to hike around and found the map given to be less than useful due to the trails themselves are poorly marked. I also was not a fan you frequently could see another trail making the trails to feel a bit crowded together. However, for being so convenient to Indianapolis, it is a nice State Park.
Kelly P — Google review
Paved and non paved trails, clean enough restrooms, cool playgrounds, you will need to pay $7 in state and $9 per car each time to enter of you do not have an annual pass.

Absolutely beautiful park just east of the Indianapolis metro area. Very well maintained by Indiana DNR. Many trails, including at least one along side a beautiful clear water creek. Lots of picnic areas, horseback riding, and even a golf course. Great place for relaxing and getting away by yourself or with family. One of Indiana's nicer state parks. I highly recommend. $7 entry for Indiana registered vehicles. $11 for non-Indiana registered vehicles. Worth every penny.

I was stationed at Fort Ben from 1988-1990 and visiting is a great walk down memory lane. Duck Pond and Delaware Lake were favorite places to go for a young soldier.

Movie theater
Tibbs Drive-In is a classic seasonal movie theater located in Indianapolis, IN. It has been entertaining visitors since 1967 and recently celebrated its 50th anniversary. The drive-in offers a unique and budget-friendly movie-going experience for families, with double features shown on four screens. In addition to movies, Tibbs Drive-In hosts flea markets on weekends, adding to the nostalgic atmosphere.
Good food friendly staff with i would’ve brought some lawn chairs and maybe a portable radio with me to hear the movie better from the bed of my truck, but that’s on me, it was a very good experience i injoied my time there
Amber K — Google review
DONT watch scary movies here as you will only see half the movie 🎥 as the screens are not equipped for it. Love the pizza!!! The popcorn tasted a little stale this visit but not in the past. Love watching movies under the stars and $12 for 2 is perfect. They do shut down everything at midnight so use the restroom before then. Overall it’s a summer staple!!
Roxanne B — Google review
Went for the first time last night and we had a lot of fun! There is a playground below the screen for the kids while they’re waiting for the movie to start. Can get a full dinner at the concession stand. They had everything - fresh fruit, sandwiches, fried faves and snacks. Think about your set-up, we had to drive around to find a spot where the kids can see from the back seat. Much more fun than a regular movie theatre!
Suzanne V — Google review
I had not been to Tibbs since i was a child, but everything seemed exactly as it did then, and it was amazing. I recommend bringing or buying a radio; most cars don't turn off lights even if just in accessory mode, so having a separate one outside of the car worked a lot better. The food was fair, and they had a variety of Midwest favorites. There were the normal movie concessions, but they also had the tenderloin, pizza, burgers, fries, and hot dogs I remember from 30 years ago - and I reveled in them. :) They don't prevent you from bringing in outside food or drink, but what they offer is hot, ready, and still tasty. Everything has a late 70s / early 80s feel, but nothing is run down or worn out. It just feels like a timeless bubble of Americana hidden away. It was a thrill to rediscover it. It is definitely a great way to watch a movie under the stars, and people were respectful and friendly.

Such a great staff! You can tell the owners care a lot about this place. The food is great, lots of yummy choices. We love The Tibbs!
Kelley R — Google review
Tibbs was wonderful as always. Lovely Autumn evening and the only crowd was at the concession stand. Each screen had Halloween themed movies. We watched the 1943 Phantom of the Opera in 1939, Son of Frankenstein. The fries were hot and fresh. The movies were old and classic. A great night. Another lovely evening at Tibbs. Cool, not too busy. I was pleased they had hot chocolate.

Video arcade
Tappers Arcade Bar is a vibrant destination in Indianapolis that perfectly blends nostalgia with modern fun. This retro arcade bar invites you to unleash your inner child while enjoying an impressive selection of craft beers at its square bar. With a plethora of classic arcade games, it’s the ideal spot for couples looking for a unique date night or friends wanting to relive their childhood memories.
Tappers was nostalgia in a bottle. So many classic arcade games that instantly brought me back to my childhood. Games are free to play with a beverage purchase. Beverages have fun names related to various video games and pulp culture references. The layout of the facility is easy to navigate as the games are spaced out in a ring around the bar with custom wooden tables for your drinks between each machine. Impressive pulp culture references are airbrush painted on the walls. A killer lineup of new pinball machines in the backroom are waiting for you. While not included in the free play, they are a blast too with many different movie/show references. Plenty of seating if you get tired crushing it on Contra or Street Fighter II. There is a handicap accessible ramp to the pinball area and bathrooms were very nice. I suggest coming here after you have a meal elsewhere as they don't really have a full food menu and I'm guessing that if to keep the arcade machines from getting gross. Lastly upfront near the entrance, they have console based games including Super Nintendo N64. They even have some of the classic table top games like you would have seen in Pizza Hut from the 70s/80s. A great find here in Indy!

Great experience! I've never been to a place like this before. It was nice to get a drink (cheaply priced too!) and play as many games as we wanted. We each purchased 1 drink a piece and played an hour worth of arcade games! It was awesome, well worth the stop on our trip.

Super fun place for any 80s kids it’s like a grown-up Chuck E. Cheese. They’ve got all the retro video games and beautiful pinball machines. All you gotta do is buy a beer and bring your friends and have fun. Owner is a cool guy. It’s a great place definite worth a trip

There are a few of these types of places popping up. This one is a phenomenal concept. They have some game systems set up with more contemporary games, a ton of old school, and then there is pinball. I had an amazing time at this place for my birthday! It was just my husband and me, and we had a blast. The bartender was super friendly, the place was really cool, and the games reminded me of when I was a kid. We can’t wait to go back!

The Virginia B. Fairbanks Art & Nature Park, located on the grounds of Newfields in Indianapolis, offers a unique blend of contemporary art installations set within 100 acres of woodlands, meadows, and a serene lake. Unlike the ticketed museum, this park is free for all to enjoy and is open daily along the eastern side of the White River. Visitors can explore permanent and temporary site-specific art pieces by renowned artists like Kendall Buster and Los Carpinteros.
This is by far a beautiful nature park to just get away. Walking a dog around the lake, seeing the wild animals, nature in its glory - all wonderful. Every time I go I see something either new or that I missed on my previous visit. The other visitors and dogs have also always been very friendly. I do recommend that you bring some doggy poop bags as I always do, just in case they’re out like they were today. A word to the visitors - clean up after your dogs. Some people are disrespectful of the park and let their dogs do whatever without cleaning up but the park staff work hard to keep it the beautiful place that it is. Also, parents/guardians let the young ones be destructive. This is why it’s so hard to have beautiful things. Again - my hats off to the fantastic and ultra hard work that the park staff does to keep this place a beautiful attraction. I highly recommend this place - and give the Labrynth a walk through with the Indiana Grass. It’s definitely mind calming if you allow it to be. I can’t give this place enough stars.

Absolutely love it! So glad I found this gem. Perfect for walking, running, biking, picnicking, etc etc. Dogs on leashes are welcome. It's free and there is also free parking. At the time of writing, the visitor pavilion is not functional but the sign says they are working on it. Would definitely recommend.

Great park! Lots of open fields where people brought blankets and food. Lots of dogs and neat artwork. I met several good people with dogs and my own dog loved the interaction. Hard to believe this amazing park is in an urban setting, but it's here for us all to enjoy. I highly recommend visiting this beautiful place. Take your friends, your kids, and your dogs. You will be glad you went!
William B — Google review
We had a truly lovely Sunday afternoon at the Virginia Fairbanks Art & Nature Park. I was initially worried about parking, but it turned out to be surprisingly easy with plenty of spots available. Since we had our dogs with us, we stuck to the 1.4-mile loop trail around the lake. It was perfect for them! The path itself is a mix of crushed gravel and packed dirt, winding through both open meadows and peaceful wooded areas. Along the way, we really enjoyed the beautiful plantings and the interesting artwork accompanied by helpful information placards. Just a heads-up: the path narrows considerably where it runs between the lake and the river, so be aware of your surroundings, especially if it's busy or you have pets. Overall, it was a fantastic, fun walk and a wonderful way to spend the afternoon.
N F — Google review
This is such a wonderful and beautiful place to visit. The nature part of the park is worth it by itself to visit, but then you add in all the great and unique artwork and sculpture as here, and it's all free to enjoy. The trail along the lake is a great way to get some exercise and enjoy nature. There is quite a few sculptures around the park, so try finding them all.

The show was awesome but the little lady at the door really needs to check her self and the way she treats people. Was my birthday outing and we purchased tickets and then we had two friends show which made a group of four. It was understood prior to her yelling at us that we had to just split our group and find openings at occupied tables to sit with strangers which was not bad but we proceeded to grab extra fold up chairs they had available ( one would think you could use these to sit in an open spot) she then approached us and let us know the spot we tried to sit in would block bar. Ok, as we were moving she grabbed chairs from us hollering at myself and the group totally losing it. We luckily found a four top and sat two of us and then other two sat behind us but through the whole show her daggers were disrespectful and ruined the vibe. Disappointed because the show was awesome but the troll at the front door needs a little lesson in how to treat patrons. Awesome show guys lose the bully at the door

The theatre also showcases original in-house productions, paying tribute to local icon author Kurt Vonnegut.
Beautiful theater! I imagine there is not a bad seat in the house. We enjoyed the show and had very good seats in the balcony. The ticket prices were fair. The facility, staff, and atmosphere were great. The special drinks were good, and the DeBrand Fine Chocolates were delicious.

Very nice. Just have to take time to experience a show to know if you will like a theater production. Being an older bldg, the seats are small, you will be rubbing shoulders with the next person if you have a bigger figure or are naturally tall, room between rows is narrow. Suggest isle seats might be best. Otherwise, was a great place, easy to get to and around in side. There is a balcony and can view the interior on the website if needing too.

The Holcomb Observatory and Planetarium is an Indianapolis museum that contains one of the world's largest telescopes as well as a state-of-the-art Cassegrain telescope. Families can enjoy a movie in the dome feature while kids explore the equipment upstairs. This is a great spot for anyone interested in astronomy, with drawbacks being that it's older and has more stairs to climb than some other local observatories.
Awesome staff! We had a really large group (70+) and the three staff members handled it excellently and had a great sense of humor. The planetarium show is very informative and helps you realize just how special the total eclipse really is. We got to see three different views through the telescope. They have bathrooms onsite and lots of parking around the building and in nearby garages. Really cool! Highly recommend!

Our family had a fantastic time observing the 4/8 total eclipse ! The sun and the moon played their parts flawlessly but the experience was so enjoyable because of the Holcomb Observatory staff. Beautiful grounds kept clean and orderly throughout our visit. The activity tables, the Observatory, and the solar telescopes had friendly and informative volunteers. The master of ceremonies provided timely brief description and explanations in advance and even during the eclipse. An exceptional performance by a passionate group of people made this a wonderful way to experience a highly anticipated event.

We took a 1st grade field trip here for the first time. Chase was in charge of our visit and did a wonderful job talking to the students, keeping it interesting, but not talking over their level of understanding. Dinner theater
Performing arts theater
Located in the College Park business development on the northwest side of Indianapolis, Beef & Boards Dinner Theatre has been serving up a delightful combination of American buffet dining and live entertainment since 1973. As one of just seven full-time Actors Equity Association theaters in the U.S., it sources talent locally and from larger markets like Chicago and New York. Executive Chef Odell Ward creates themed buffet menus tailored to each show, featuring hand-carved roast beef and decadent desserts served during intermission.
It was our 1st time taking our kids, and it has been years since I've been. The service and staff were very nice and attentive. Most of the food was good, but I wish they had a few different side options. The green beans were hard and tasted horrible. The ham, though, was amazing!! The show/talent was unbelievable. My family enjoyed it. I do with they had some type of entertainment/interaction while you were there 2 hours early eating....and I feel the prices are a little extreme.

We saw the Little Mermaid. It was awesome. They had buffet and they bring dessert around during intermission. You have to pay separately for dessert and drinks. They have a gift shop too. Also an area to take pictures. Very nice place and nice people work here too. Food was good but I like more pepper on mine. Show was great. Costumes were on point and acting was done very well. Great job everyone.
Kathleen M — Google review
This was not a good value, primarily because of the food. The show was fair, although our PG-rated show had a lot more swearing than I expected. The food was the disappointment. Technically, it was a buffet, but you have more options in your typical Chinese buffet at a strip mall. Yes, the buffet has fish, chicken, and roast. Everything else is plain, basic, and below expectations. It's a small spread with few options. For $90 a person, this was way below standards. Additionally, on this particular night, the women's main bathroom had a major plumbing issue that could be resolved. Have you ever seen over 200 women trying to use an alternate upstairs bathroom? They took over the men's bathroom, and we got to use the single stall employee bathroom. Not impressed. Granted, that will likely never happen again. But at these prices, I won't find out. Drinks - $5 for pop Dessert - extra (what kind of buffet doesn't have desserts?) My final complaint would be the chairs. Think of your typical metallic chairs with pads. That's what they have. Now imagine that, because of the cramped spacing between tables, you are sitting immediately behind your dinner guest, who is at the same height level. So now you are in a stiff chair and have to move side to side to see the action around the head of your guest. That was my experience, and I was in the second row. Overall, not impressed. The service was the only thing that kept it from being a 1-star.

The show is always amazing! We have the VIP subscription (aka season pass) and each play or musical has been performed professionally. The live music to accompany the performances is top notch. The dinner buffet is very good but not very diverse. A nice Salad bar and drinks are up to par. An excellent experience every time. Good seats sell out fast so try to plan ahead for the better seats.

We saw a fantastic show, and the staff was phenomenal!! The food was just ok. Tonight they served breakfast food with salad and a chicken and mushroom potpie. Also roast beef. It just didn't go together and made us feel a little queasy to be honest. Everything else was fantastic! We will definitely be back.

Dinner and a show! Great adult entertainment!! (Not every show is kid appropriate) Always high calibur talent bringing their best every show. We are thankful when we are put in Colton's section. He is a fantastic server. Evening shows have a yummy cheeseball on your table. Our best date nights are here, so we got season tickets to have our favorite seats reliably!

Absolutely the Best Production of The Little Mermaid We've Ever Seen! We've attended many performances at Beef & Boards over the years, but this production of The Little Mermaid truly stands out as the very best. The talent, staging, and overall production were nothing short of spectacular! Every visit to Beef & Boards is a pleasure. The staff consistently provides excellent service, and the performances never fail to impress. This theater continues to deliver top-tier entertainment, and The Little Mermaid was a shining example of that excellence.

Beef and Boards has been a consistently wonderful venue that my family has enjoyed many times through the years. The house staff are excellent and we have always had great service. The food is solid with good options for gluten free and vegetarian diets which are clearly indicated. The medium roast beef is a favorite and is consistently very good. The buffet is clean and well stocked by the hardworking staff We have seen many shows through the years with favorites being Cats, The Wizard of Oz, and most recently Waitress. The sheer talent present in the cast of Waitress is just magnificent! If you have not been yet now is the perfect time to go! You will not be disappointed.

Greatimes Family Fun Park offers a budget-friendly theme park experience with a variety of attractions for the whole family. The 22,000-square-foot arcade center and multilevel Indoor Playland cater to different age groups, ensuring that everyone has a great time. Visitors can enjoy activities such as Miniature Golf, Bumper Boats, and Go-Karts. Located just 15 minutes from Downtown Indianapolis, it's an easily accessible destination for those looking for sunny-day fun.
This is the most fun you can have for the price. Adults and kids will have a blast here. 20 dollars on the games go a long way to be honest. We also did the water bumper cars and putt putt which was a great time. My family and I enjoyed this place a lot. The games were clean, the staff helpful, the prizes were cool and kids will love them. Parking was plentiful, try and go on a slow day to maximize your time on the games. Didn't taste the food but looks like its mostly pizza. Also the playground area is free for kids three and under.

We had a kids birthday on a busy Saturday afternoon. Somehow, they pulled off an amazing event for us. Ash was our party liaison and she was amazing. You should request Ash! She killed it. The pizzas were on time, she kept our drinks full and served us cake. All the kids had a great time. There were some games that weren’t running and despite the great weather, they wait for Memorial Day to fully open everything outside. The prizes were good and the cards for games worked well. We will return! Thanks Ash! You deserve a raise!

Fun fun fun with the family on Father's Day. We played putt putt, drive the cars and played the games as well as ate the good pizza. We all were tired when leaving this place. Expect to have a good time for a cheap price. The staff were very nice and friendly. We will be going back to this place.

Fun options, we did the slick track, bumper boats, mini golf, and some of the indoor games. We enjoyed all, but the bumper boats was probably our favorite, a nice way to cool down on a hot day. The 3 rating is due to the need for maintenance and upkeep. Many of the indoor games didn't work at all or had issues (not calculating tickets as indicated) and the mini golf course (while fun) had lots of debris on the course, trash in the water, and we lost 2 balls approximately half through due to one of the holes being plugged up. If they put a little work into the place it could easily be a 4-5 star review, as I said great options, our family spent a few hours here, but if we go back it will be during one of their specials. Today the value vs. the experience, due to the issues mentioned, just didn't add up!
Becky B — Google review
Place is huge for what it is. Arcade selection. Is great and doesn’t cost to much. Putt putt courses are awesome lots of fun obstacles and turns. Bumper boats is so much fun (keep in mind you will get wet). Lots of go karts for all ages. Be sure to wear tennis shoes or you can’t ride go kart.
C J — Google review
The place is clean, and the employees where nice. I wasn't sure where to begin, but they gave us guidance to get us going. We didn't get to explore the rides due to lack of time, but from passing near them, they look in good order. We did enjoy the indoor arcade! Game pricing is moderate. They use a card that you full up with credits; $1 = 100 credits, a game can be from 30-150 credits. I did like that you can use the credits to purchase rounds of golf, go-karts, etc for 550 credits versus having to get back into a line to buy a ticket. The special we used today was the $50 = 5,000 credits, then a bonus amount of 1,000 credits were added, giving us 6,000 credits for $50. There are other amounts that get bonus credits, I think it started off at $20 thru $100 purchases. There's a good assortment on the food menu, with sitting space inside to eat in the AC/heat.
SLEEPER — Google review
We like this family place! Lots of games, nice toddler area, the place is clean and not expensive. It is not crowded during the weekdays and opened till late so it is a great fun alternative for the rainy days or for the cold winter days. For the warmer season they have a great putt-putt outside as well as other activities

This place sucks. Lots of games do not work. 2nd player on games isn't available(broken). If you swipe your card twice before pressing play it will take boints both times. Complete rip off. Highly recommend saving your money.

Nestled within the expansive Eagle Creek Park, Go Ape Zipline and Adventure Park in Indianapolis offers an exhilarating treetop adventure. With five high and long ziplines, including a 40-foot tree-to-tree crossing, visitors can enjoy a bird's-eye view of the lush forests. The park features a challenging high ropes course that takes several hours to complete, along with treetop obstacles and Tarzan swings.
The company should change its name to Great Apes Zipline Adventures because it was a GREAT experience! My family and I had a lot of fun! It was much more challenging than I anticipated and made me face an unknown fear of jumping off a platform and trusting a harness, but I did it several times and lived to tell the tale! I am looking forward to going back again!

My husband and I are volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters, and our "little" has wanted to come here for quite some time. Another scheduled activity fell through, and corporate management squeezed us in and took great care of us (thank you, Doug!). The team on-site are kind, professional, and safety minded. This course is no joke. We had a 44, 40, and 10 year old in our group. Everyone was able to participate and complete the course, but it is not for everyone and highly physically demanding. I definitely wish we'd stretched first! My only real complaint is that the park is tearing up the parking lot, so you have to make a little trek to get to the check-in site. Not too bad , but don't forget to grab your keys when you leave and have to go back to get them like we did. Our "little" had an awesome time and slept the whole way back to Greenwood. If you're looking for a relaxing activity, this isn't it... But if you want to challenge yourself while getting a good workout and some fresh air, I definitely recommend it.

My 13 year old son and I had a blast! Would say this is definitely a more difficult course- compared to what I have done in the past. Great workout and very fun course! Dipper, our guide was fantastic! Very engaging, funny and kept us on our toes. Beware… the zip lines are very fast! There are no lockers for purses so make sure you bring minimal items.

This was mine and my fiancés first zip lining experience. Our guide, Rogue, was amazing!! She made sure I felt safe to move on after needing a little extra help getting back up after the Tarzan swing. She was so patient and kind. She even saw us in the parking lot after with a dead battery and offered to let us use her battery jumper, and we were able to get it started! Thank you Rogue for your outstanding customer service. Keep being as cool as you are!

The entire experience from start to finish was so amazing. The staff was very friendly and informative. I myself could not complete the course, however my husband did and said he will definitely do it again. If you're looking for an adrenaline adventure Go Ape is perfect. The only thing my husband said could be better was taller and longer ziplines.

The staff were excellent! Very patient and genuine. Very clear with all instructions and had a great sense of humor when appropriate. Answered all questions and made sure we were comfortable with what we were doing and especially made my son feel more confident in what we were doing as he was very nervous doing this for the first time. Azrael (probably spelled name wrong, sorry) was absolutely above and beyond, but all the staff were great!

The Soldiers & Sailors Monument, a neoclassical limestone structure in downtown Indianapolis, is a tribute to Indiana veterans who served from the Revolutionary War to the Spanish-American War. It stands at almost 285 feet tall and features statues representing different military branches. Visitors can explore the Civil War museum at its base and ascend to an observation deck for stunning panoramic views of the city skyline.
🥇Soldiers and Sailors Monument – Indianapolis The Soldiers and Sailors Monument is an absolute must-see in the heart of downtown Indianapolis. Towering at over 280 feet, it’s both a powerful tribute to Indiana’s veterans and an iconic symbol of the city. Whether you’re a history enthusiast or just looking for a scenic spot to take in the city, this monument delivers. The surrounding plaza is beautiful and lively, perfect for photos or just relaxing on a nice day. You can even go inside and take the elevator—or stairs if you’re feeling brave—to the observation deck for panoramic views of the city skyline. It’s centrally located, free to visit, and packed with historical significance. Don’t miss this landmark—it’s not just a monument, it’s a centerpiece of Indiana pride!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Amazing part of the city. Driving through the city stayed the night and got up early to walk around and it was so dead and quiet I loved it. Worth going out of your way, if you can find somewhere to park and don’t mind walking a bit.
TheDSsucks — Google review
Not a long visit here but I did stay downtown just to get the chance to see and experience the architectural beauty. Surrounded by restaurants and coffee shops fits my liking. Unfortunately there is construction work going on during this review. But you can still experience this master peace. At night they play Taps to honor the fallen. Parking in this city can be a bit challenging. There are parking garage all around. Do spend some time seeing this. I understand that this is only 15 ft shorter than the statue of liberty.

It's very nice monument created in memory of soldiers and sailors. Very nicely maintained hundred year old monument. They have installed lift to ho up in the minar. This is done without disturbing existing structure. This facility enable all even senior citizen to go up on the top of minar. You can witness downtown from top of building. No entry fee to see this monument. They have all exhibit from this place to main war memorial museum.

Honors Indiana veterans from the Revolutionary War through the Spanish–American War.

The Soldiers and Sailors Monument in Indianapolis is more than just a historic landmark—it’s a family-friendly destination that’s perfect for a homeschool field trip. Kids can learn about Indiana history while enjoying the fun atmosphere around Monument Circle. The area often has games set up for children, and local food trucks make it easy to grab a quick bite while exploring. It’s a great balance of education and fun, giving students a chance to connect what they’re learning at home with real-world experiences. Parents and kids alike will enjoy the mix of history, activities, and community right in the heart of downtown Indianapolis.
Rettak C — Google review
Monument Circle is historically of particular interest because of the Soldiers & Sailors Monument located in the center. The entire monument is dramatic -- intense sculptures depict the various wars Indiana soldiers participated in. Crowning the monument is a sculpture of Victory. During the summer the surrounding public area (which sometimes spills into the roundabout's street so that you may be unable to drive all the way around it) is turned into a pedestrian's area to relax in lawn chairs, complete with umbrellas, ping pong tables, and other such games. Around the circle you can also purchase coffee drinks, chocolates, and other such snacks from local stores.

I had a terrible experience to be honest I arrived and there was a long line at the entrance only to find out that they opened two cashiers out of four not to mention that I live 30 minutes away I expected it to be more organized! I wanted to try it but the line was so long that you had to wait at least 2 hours
Jihad K — Google review
The water facilities are wonderful and there's plenty of staff. Everything feels like safety is considered and it's a beautiful location with lots of parking. That being said- if you aren't a member, expect to wait a long time in line while members get in immediately. $17 seems somewhat overpriced for what the experience is. My son waited longer than a half hour for the wave/surfing situation, and then he had two tries. With instruction and overall time spent per kid it takes about 5 minutes per kid so if the line is more than six kids long, expect to wait at least half an hour. Food was running out by 6, so when I ordered a walking taco it came without meat. They didn't let me know when I ordered. My kids got the soft pretzels, which were chewy and flavorless. My friend let me know that she wouldn't recommend the corn dogs either. General bathrooms reeked and were without AC (possibly a temporary situation but there were no signs). Family bathrooms were spacious and accessible, and even had a shower! No trash can near the toilet. Overall would recommend the park for all the Waterpark features (while expecting lines to enter and at the surf area and water slides- lines were even long on a Monday), but next time I'd skip trying to change there and would go elsewhere for food.

This is a wonderful water park run by Carmel Clay Parks. Municipalities across the country should look at this attraction as a possible amenity for their residents and visitors. We are in Cincinnati but visit every year when in Indy visiting friends. They have something for every age here. A couple neat, large splash grounds for the littles. A dual FlowRider for the adventurous (you have to sign a waiver). The Lazy River is a little small, but there is no shortage of young and old relaxing in an inner tube (you have to be IN an inner tube or the staff will come at you). And a few slides- one dual with a body and tube slide. Tube is on the left when waiting in line, body on the right. The other slide is a short body slide that plunges into a pool shared with a rock climbing wall. My kids really enjoyed this, possibly due to the short line. We never ordered food here, we bring in our own. Alcohol is not allowed, and they do search your stuff. The cabanas are affordable and very helpful on a busy day. They comfortably fit our party of six, come with a fridge and fan, and run around $200. You still have to pay admission in addition to this fee. The staff is generally friendly and helpful, including the lifeguards. We've never had a negative interaction with them. They do have a very aggressive inclement weather policy. If they expect thunderstorms within a 30 mile radius, they will shut down the pool. And by shutdown that means you have to leave the park entirely, and wait for further info, on their Facebook and phone hotline. On the day we visited this year they shut down twice due to rain. No lightning, but quick rain storms. They were not quick to post updates on their socials and phone hotline. After the first delay they reopened after 90 minutes. The second rain delay we just left. Eventually the park just decided to close for the day. It's seems aggressive and somewhat unnecessary, but probably driven by their insurance company I suspect. No refunds or tickets reissued due to the weather, but that's the norm with these venues. Find a day with good weather predicted, book a cabana if available, and you'll have a blast. I wish more municipalities would offer such a great asset to their communities.

I did a weekend vacation with my family of 8. Parents of 4 children 2 yrs. to 15 yrs. with us as the grandparents traveling together with 2 cars. The waterpark was a good place for the lazy river for us grandparents, baby water pad for the 2 yr. old and the bigger slides and pools for the 10, 12 & 15 yr. olds. We had a great day under the cabana when we needed a rest and we stayed for about 5 hours.

This is our favorite waterpark by far. We live in Lafayette and pass the one in Lafayette and Lebanon to come to Carmel. It's more expensive than others, but it's just great. We're older so the lazy river is our favorite, but the scenery here is so nice. We come a few times a year. A couple things I wish they had.....a little more shade (umbrellas), a "changing" or "locker" room, and longer seasons. We love being able to bring our own cooler of snacks and drinks, though, so that's huge. Keep it up, and we'll be back a few more times next year again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

UPDATE!! I wanted to update my first review of this waterpark. As my 2nd visit, both my niece’s birthday party, It was Even worse than the first time. This time not only was it too expensive for the uncleanliness we dealt with in our rented Cabana. I got there early and went on back to our Cabana, only to find that it was just horrible. Everything was sticky, and hadn’t been cleaned it looked like, ever. I went to the box offices where we paid $20 a piece to enter and $120 for the Cabana and asked for some cleaning supplies for the cabana we were getting ready to use for a 6yr olds birthday party . I was being a little Passive Aggressive hoping that they would clean it up at least a little bit, but no. They actually handed me a towel and that was it. I said I’m going to need a little bit more cleaning supplies to make it suitable to hang out in. The inside of the mini fridge was just soaked in a brown substance. You could definitely tell that it had not been cleaned since atleast the last party. I took pictures and sent them to my niece so she could get some money back and I went ahead and cleaned it up enough to make do. But ya, I will not be going there anymore. We spend too much money for a nice place to enjoy the sun and water to be reduced to squander down at the creek for $200. Ridiculous I visited The Waterpark yesterday for my niece’s 5th Birthday party and was shocked by the price of admission. $17 per adult, $14 per child. It’s a nice place. A little too crowded for my taste. It reminded me of Holiday World’s water park. Same set up and all the same attractions and Cabanas. That’s another reason I don’t want to come back, to rent a Cabana is $300 for 3 hours! I understand that inflation is happening and that I was in Carmel, but dang, I thought it was waaaaay too much money to be crowded by soo many people. It was just all way too much for me. We will not be going back EVER! 😉

We came to the gardens right after the tulips finished blooming and before the summer annuals were planted on the weekend before Mother's Day. It was great to see really flowers like columbine, a few irises and rock roses, and more. And the structure of the garden is beautiful. We also loved the whimsy, like the dancing turtles. There are lots of mobility aids for rent, from wheelchairs to strollers and more. There's accessable parking, and its easy to get around in a wheelchair.

My dad wanted to go to the drag strip this last saturday 8/30, he has been fighting cancer, so it was the least i could do, tickets were 77$ each, long walk but that was fine, we were directed to our seats but later learned we were misinformed, so we were moved, by this time the seats were full so took a moment to squeeze in, a older fella and his family were vaping next to my dad, and after several goes at it he said he couldn’t be out there a moment longer. Sadly he was looking forward to the 2:05pm funny cars ect, firework show later that evening but he couldn’t do it. Park clearly stated no smoking no vaping in bleachers, so we walk another mile back to the car. Was surprised employees didn’t say something the the family vaping, was a waist of an experience for him and waist of 144$.

A Wonderful Experience at Daniel's Vineyard! I recently had the pleasure of visiting Daniel's Vineyard for a date night, and it was an absolute delight! We chose a Wednesday, which happened to be trivia night, and it added an extra layer of fun to our evening. The atmosphere was lovely, with beautiful views of the vineyard and a stunning sunset. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The trivia night was a blast, with a great mix of questions and enthusiastic participants. We had a wonderful time competing and enjoying each other's company. One of the things that impressed us was the ample parking available, which is perfect for events like weddings, which Daniel's Vineyard also hosts. The only minor hiccup was that they ran out of wine glasses at one point. To avoid this in the future, I would recommend having backup glasses on hand. Additionally, if you're particular about your wine temperature, be sure to ask the staff to chill it if they're retrieving it from the fridge. Highlights: - Beautiful vineyard views and stunning sunset - Fun trivia night with great questions and atmosphere - Friendly and welcoming staff - Ample parking available Suggestions for Improvement: - Have backup wine glasses available to avoid running out - Confirm wine temperature with staff if retrieving from fridge Tips for Future Visitors: - Check out trivia night on Wednesdays for a fun and lively atmosphere - Take advantage of the beautiful views and sunset - Consider Daniel's Vineyard for wedding or event hosting Rating Breakdown: - Atmosphere: 5/5 - Service: 4.5/5 - Amenities: 5/5 - Overall: 5/5 We can't wait to go back and enjoy more of what Daniel's Vineyard has to offer!

Daniel’s Vineyard is a hidden gem! Great drinks and an incredible space for concerts, weddings, or just hanging out while you have a drink on the weekends. I’ve never heard any bad reviews for the space. We ordered a few pizzas while hanging out at Daniel’s and our only complaint was the wait time. Hardly anyone at the vineyard but it still took 45+ minutes for two pizzas. We will be returning to give the place another chance.

Daniels Vineyard is a great venue for the casual any time out, special occasions, and a beautiful spot for weddings. Sunset photos from the balcony looking over the vines cant be beat. The pizzas are excellent. The Maiz and Cellar Club Spicy BBQ are . Wine flights and beers on tap have you covered for drinks. And they have the best staff!

Gorgeous facility for a wedding or corporate event!! The upper ballroom is perfect for your wedding reception, and the bridal suite is beautiful. Great facility to visit, drink wine, and eat pizza!! Huge variety of wines to choose from, and fun hats to buy!

Great venue, yummy drinks and delicious food. It was just SUPER busy during a large, public event. Lines were SO long. There is plenty of parking -- but could include being off pavement + a much longer walk to the indoor facility. Valet parking was also an option, for an additional fee. Lots of outdoor seating but during busy events like I attended you could bring your own lawn chairs or blankets.

We hosted our daughter’s Celebration of Life at Daniel’s, and it could not have been more perfect! Lexi was so amazing, from her sincere compassion for our loss to her help making things extremely easy to plan from another state. The space was beautiful, and the banquet staff and bartenders were fantastic. All of the food was delicious too. I cannot thank everyone there enough for such a beautiful event!

Nestled in the heart of Indianapolis, the Historic Hannah House is a stunning destination that captivates visitors year-round. Renowned for its rich history and eerie reputation, this house is infamous for its paranormal activity linked to tragic events from the past, including the haunting tale of slaves who perished in its basement. During my recent visit, I was thrilled to finally explore this architectural gem and delve into its fascinating backstory. The dedication shown by those working to preserve this historic site is truly commendable.
I was fortunate enough to be in the area while The Historic Hannah House was open for tours. I’ve been wanting to go for a while now so I was excited that I finally could. Not only is the house beautiful from top to bottom but the history behind it is quite interesting. The amount of love that is being put into this house now to save it is impressive. I’m SO glad I went and would highly recommend touring if in the area or get the chance to! I’d love to get back for their paranormal fest too!

I did an overnight investigation back in 2024. I liked It for the most part. Activity was low. I thought the owner was nice he talked to our group for awhile. I was little disappointed that we had to have people there while investigating. I found It somewhat difficult because I could hear them talking outside while I was trying to investigate. I understand the owners policy and why they stay while people are visiting. No disrespect towards the owner, that is just how I felt while visiting. Fairly priced and we got T-shirts! I am interested in going back just hope to get more activity.

We had a great time. Enjoyed the staff, they were really friendly. Really enjoy talking to Patrick, the GM. Love the props and the animatronic in the attractions. Really love Bitten attractions but the hayride was awesome. But no one told us where to sit for the best ride. Middle or back is the best seats.

My daughter and I had fun at the event today. I love history and the beauty of the house. It was very nice to see other Pagan/Wiccan/Spiritual and get to really introduce the community to my daughter.

It was ok just need a better speaker but in all fairness it wasn't a actual tour so that could be better. Still a cool place with some history that the majority probably don't even know about that live in Indianapolis.

I had such an adventure spending the night at Hannah House. The staff is wonderful and the house is beautiful. Highly recommend scheduling an overnight or tour!
Todd K — Google review
This was the worst time I had at the Paranormal festival and the Hannah house was a huge let down. They have kids running the house now and you can’t go in most rooms. You go in 2 rooms 1st floor and upstairs 2 rooms then down the hidden stairs and to the basement which is mostly blocked off and can’t your nothing. I’ll never go again!

The Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center is a versatile venue that hosts a variety of events such as conventions, concerts, fairs, weddings, banquets, and meetings. The annual Indiana State Fair is a beloved celebration showcasing the state's agricultural traditions with live music performances, amusement rides, livestock competitions, and diverse food options.
Had a fun time on the last day the fair was open this year. I didn't realize until this year i could get alcoholic drinks! Shower my i.d. one time and got a bracelet so I didn't have to show it again. You could buy as many as you wanted although I only had went in twice. They also have wheelchairs to rent for 25$ for the whole day which is nice because my elderly mother can't walk that far for very long. We enjoy shopping in the tents and getting out the food. My mom got an apple dumpling and ice cream she loved it. I found cheese curds which I was really suprised by never expected to get them at a fair. They were very good but they were 17$ for a cup, which was about a large size of curds I'd say from anywhere else. They had wood carvings which were pretty cool and very cute. We also got bobble heads made of ourselves for free from state farms tent. Which was awesome! I would definitely go to the fair again. Also parking is 10$ but it wasn't too far from the gate and we came later in the day. Also had to have my purse checked. I will definitely be returning and I recommend you try it as well ❤️

We had our 98th national FFA conference in Indiana, and some of us went to the rodeo at the fairground, and some of us went to ice skating, which was amazing. The popcorn is really good at the ice rink. The prices are really reasonable. Also I like the Ag commodity data information on the bathroom mirror.
Sonjia ( — Google review
The fair grounds hold lots of events. Obviously first and foremost is the state fair. But they also hold some other events too like the Oddities and Curiosities showcase and a drive through Christmas light show. I can't say I've ever seen the grandstands used. Maybe it's for some of the concerts held there... But all of the events are well staffed and crowds are handled well. The fair grounds are nice, clean and well maintained. My only negative is that having to walk a circle around a giant parking lot can get a little boring and hot. The area has a lot of asphalt. Some more trees around the area or teardown of unused concrete/asphalt could go a long way. They do have a tractor shuttle during fair days to help alleviate some of the walking though.
Allisa — Google review
The Indiana State Fair was very crowded by 10am on Saturday. But there was still plenty of parking and crowds moved swiftly at exhibits and standing in line for other things. There were plenty of staff there in case of a question or problem which might arise. Unfortunately, the prices seem to be a bit high for the average family to go to. Parking and admission for 2 adults was $44, plus a lunch for 2 which added another $25. Gulp down a $30 bucket lemonade with that and you are already at $100 before even getting started. After some cheap blow up rifles, a stuffed animal that had bad stitching, and 3 gold fish later we managed to skip out without losing more than $100 in a few short games. Without self-control or a little restraint, a person can be well over the $200 which our family spent within an hour of being at the fair. It is an enjoyment to see the animals and pioneer village but outside of that, I wouldn't suggest taking a van full of children unless they are already fed and it is bracelet ride day because if you do otherwise, withdraw $400-700 immediately, with no regrets. Cause that is what it will take to feed and please the group you will have with you.
Daniel C — Google review
The indiana state fair is always a birthday tradition for me, I love going every year. 6 years ago I introduced my daughter to it. I may not be able to go on a lot of the rides like I used to but that dont stop me from walking around and enjoying great food and exciting things. Can't wait for next year.
Lacey J — Google review
Finally went to the fair after eleven years!! Why we decided to go on a hot Saturday I have no clue why. The food items that they had at the fair this year were very delicious. Unfortunately the prices did go up on some of the food items. Playing the games is a waste of time. They're all hustlers. It doesn't matter what duck you pick up in the duck game. They're all small prizes. You may be wondering, well how does she know this? It's because I picked up fifteen ducks and they were all small. This is a great place to bring your family. Don't spend money on games. Spend money on food and the experience at the different entertainment things they have and the different buildings.
N A — Google review
Indiana State Fair is amazing. This is he 3rd or 4th year in a row getting to go with the kids. Seeing them grow up and out of rides as they get taller has been an experience. Rides were fun, food was great, frozen lemonades were fire. Sky ride to end the night is the way to go.

Need more Big fan on the road..more ventilation.. or cooling station.. Super hot today at the state fair.. lots of people being dehydrated.. somebody had a heat stroke that need medical emergency while riding the tram.. and the medical station is only at station 1??? Put more medical station also... This year state fair is our worst experience so far... fewer sponsors, lesser freebies.. General Admission is much more expensive.. the circus is not that impressive..and super hot and humid inside the tent.. again also need more ventilation.. lots of people left and not finishing the show amd walked out..because they cant hold the heat inside the tent...

Our server was amazing! Greeted as soon as we walked in, friendly and speedy service. Food was fresh, hot and did not disappoint. Smaller location with plenty of games to still play and have a good time.

I haven't been in a few years. Brought two of my friends who both had a combo with gameplay. One was a smash burger, beer, and $20 gameplay. The other bacon smash burger, coke, and $20 gameplay. I just got the barbacoa quesadillas. The burgers are really good, but the lettuce was starting to brown. The quesadillas are nothing like the picture on the menu. They are soggy and were not served with sour cream. They did taste okay but not on par as I expected. The service is good. I have no complaints, but she got sidetracked and forgot the sweetener for my unsweetened iced tea. Not a bigger. I will still come back. Playing the games is fun even for adults, but expensive. They make it so confusing. Buy a ticket for cash but then the games deduct tokens from the card. It just makes it confusing. Most games are on average $2 each. Best to get the 90 min unlimited card and pass it around amongst the family.

My wife and I finally got a date night and we decided use up the balance of our coin card. We played some games and then decided to grab a bite to eat. As we went to the hostess desk we were stopped and a waitress that had over heard our conversation and found my wife and I a table by ourselves without any wait. We were waited on by DJ. He was awesome. Got the fight on the big screen for me.

Girls night out! Came to have some fun, cocktails and, food. Greeted right away and the place was huge, got a package deal that included game play and food, wish we knew exactly which games we could play before we purchased the card, overall they were fun. The cocktails were really good and our bartender was extremely friendly and answered all of our questions! We ordered calamari and chicken pasta I honestly wasn't surprised by what we got, this is more a bar food place, the breading on the calamari was very thick, and flavorless, the Cajun chicken pasta was like a frozen dinner, honestly I didn't expect much so wasn't to disappointed I mean you go to play games and drink stick to that and it's all good. Two cocktails, appetizer, one main dinner, 90 minute game play was 117$ plus 40 tip. A quick trip to Noblesville to have some fun. Play on 😁

The service was amazing. Plenty to do for my toddler, myself and my friends. The food was surprisingly really good. I would probably come to just dine in every once in a while. Had the Barbacoa Quesadilla and it was very good. The new Human Crane addition was really interesting to see and my daughter won a huge inflatable banana from it.
Te S — Google review
The place was not busy when we arrived around 5:50 PM. The food was hot and we had a buffet styled gathering with our FFA members and advisors for our trip in Indiana. But we had reservations at 6 o'clock pm. We still had to wait until 6:15 to 6:20 pm for them to get the food out into the warm trays and our group was coming from a 17 hour drive from Orlando, Florida on a charter bus. Of course our students were hungry as well as adults. And so it would have been nice if they would have brought the food out as soon as we checked in. We were able to feed the children, and then, of course, adults who saw what they had for us ordered their own meals. The place was clean. And they had great customer service coming by picking up our trash as well as making sure they refill the food and drinks for the students. The students said they had a great time and that's what really matters.

Royal Pin Woodland is a popular bowling alley in Indy with 80 lanes, making it a great spot for league play and youth programs. The casual eatery offers affordable options like tenderloin and fries, while the bar serves up a variety of drinks including their own Royal Pin lager. The facility is well-maintained and has on-site security. It's also an ideal place for hosting events like birthday parties with affordable bundle packages.
Great Family Fun at Royal pin Royal Pin is a great spot for family time. Located at 3421 E 96th St, it offers 70 lanes of bowling fun, two bars, a restaurant, laser tag, and outdoor putt-putt. The place is clean, well-organized, and has a friendly staff. Prices are reasonable, with even better deals during weekdays. We ordered chicken, a pepperoni pizza, drinks, and I tried a pretzel with cheese. The kids and my wife enjoyed the pizza and chicken, and I liked my pretzel. The food wasn’t outstanding, but for a bowling alley, it was solid. Most importantly, the grandkids had a blast, and so did we. Bowling costs $35 per lane per hour or $4 per game per person—shoes included! Definitely worth a visit for a fun family outing.

This place has been our go to place for weekends, holidays and also perfect places for kids birthday party. Staff is awesome and had good options for drinks and food. We hosted a private party at Woodland Bowl for 300 people on a Friday night. We rented out the full 70-lane alley, which included laser tag and the arcade (the arcade was pay-to-play). We had a great buffet that included unlimited soft drinks, and the staff worked with us to provide a certain number of adult drink tickets per person. This event went really smoothly, and we have had a lot of great feedback. It was minimal work for our staff, and and enjoyable time for our team members and families. We would definitely consider returning!

Our company reached out to Royal Pin Woodland to hold an event for our employees and the extended families. Royal Pin had a team of extremely helpful party planners who reached out to us and helped us make the event a true success. The facility is beautiful and all of our employees had a wonderful time due in large part to all the efforts of the Royal Pin staff. Would definitely bring our company over to Royal Pin in the future for another event. If I could give 10 stars, I would do so!

Movie theater
The IMAX Theatre at the Indiana State Museum is a giant screen theater that presents 3D films. The movie series "Summer Nights" features classic love stories every week, and is perfect for couples who want to get close to the screen while watching their favorite film. Parking is free in the garage, and sound and picture quality are amazing. The only complaint is that there isn't much leg room, but it's still an excellent way to spend a night out.
Drove 5hrs to watch the 70mm editions of tenet & DUNE 2- I appreciate that parking is complimentary with tix purchase. The concessions and service were excellent. Same crew helped me both days and were excellent. The audio! And theater didn't disappoint. All the extra $ I spent to make it here was worth it. I did not tour any other exhibit or feature of this gorgeous building but I strongly recommend watching a 70mm feature here. Honestly. I'm probably coming back indy to watch dune 2 again. No other way to watch such a movie..
JC E — Google review
Basically no bad seats in the theater, sat far left (C31) and still had a great view of everything, but I can imagine the front two rows might get some strain looking up the whole time. Seats were comfy and most recline slightly, but there is very little leg room for people over 6ft or in situations where people might need to shuffle past. Films generally have no trailers and only minimal State Museum ad clips before starting, our 4:30pm film started only about 10 minutes after posted time. Concessions are the right size considering there's only one screen, but gets backed up when everyone shows up 10 minutes before start time so show up earlier if you want popcorn.
Austin S — Google review
Went here for the first time in nearly 20 years. I wanted to go to one of the AMC theaters, but the matinee time was available at this theater. The concession workers were nice and your ticket gets validated so you get free parking which was a pro, and the restrooms, lobby and theater was nice and clean. But the con was the feature with the projection on the big screen. I really could've saw this at home, but I wanted to support this feature. The other con I didn't like my food item that I wanted a refund on. I had to wait for the manager and they/them wouldn't grant it. I would recommend Living Room Theaters, Kan Kan, or the newly Alamo Drafthouse. This theater is no different than the average theater you could go to.
STEPHANIE M — Google review
An incredible viewing experience, boasting one of only a handful of IMAX 70mm projectors. The sound is deafening (when it’s meant to be) and the picture is crisp. Great selection of local beers and typical concessions. Plus they have a rewards program and validate parking! They recently upgraded/updated their seats as well, so now the experience is plush and comfortable for bigger people, too.
Evan S — Google review
Definitely one of your favorite movie theaters in Indianapolis! They always have a great lineup of movies, and watching them on an IMAX screen with high end sound is incredible. What I like the most is that this movie theater is always clean and never crowded. And the type of folks that come here is mostly adults which makes the whole experience more peaceful and relaxing. A cherry on top is free underground parking (just get a free ticket validation at the concession stand). The only reason for 4 stars is the seating situation. It’s the Frontier Airlines of auditoriums. The seats are narrow and there is no legroom, especially if you’re 6 ft or taller. They also recline easily, so people sitting in front of you can hit your knees (which happened to me, and it wasn’t pleasant). If they can add a few inches between rows, this would be a five star movie theater!
Alex — Google review
Very rude staff. Asked for a spill to be cleaned up that was right in front of our seats and was dismissed because they were busy trying to get guests in the theater. I guess I was not a guest they cared about getting in the theater? I guess they would have preferred we slipped and cause a bigger issue for them. Pics show before and after the floor was wiped up after asking three times. Poor customer service.
Lela M — Google review
Fabulous screen and sound system. Definitely see anything you can here. Skip the concessions (I only had the popcorn). It was the crappy, dusty salt, super cheap type. For $20 a ticket, the popcorn could use an upgrade.
M C — Google review
My son and I went to see how to train your Dragon at the IMAX. Of course, the movie was exceptional especially seeing it on the IMAX screen. The only drawback was the concession was out of hot food other than popcorn. They had nachos, but the cheese was not hot. This is concerning because it was a Saturday afternoon.

I'm so glad we booked a trip here. It was an awesome experience. It's not Italy, but your gondolier makes you feel like it is. Our man Bruno was awesome. He's an amazing singer. Even though we couldn't understand what he was singing it was fantastic. He explained what each song meant and also info and history of the canal and surrounding area. The couple we met were really cool and friendly. I totally recommend this to everyone.

Here for a volleyball tournament this weekend. Horrible experience. First of all, parking is horrendous. People parking down side streets, backing up the residential areas in this area. Once I finally found parking, I walked nearly a mile to the entrance. The lady working the front desk says “$12 or $15 for admission in.” What?? The facilities had no fans, no air circulation. The courts were set up on top of baseball turf! Staff members were taking lunch boxes from the players and asking adults what they had in their bags, to avoid allowing outside food or drink in. Games went until 10pm but the concession stand closed over two hours prior. Absolutely horribly experience. If I could rank it lower, believe me I would.

They need to limit tickets/admission for large events (and frankly, this place really isn’t big enough to be hosting large sporting events with a lot of out of state attendance). Having parking overflow where around 100 vehicles are parked on both sides of the road, in other private business lots, and all along the streets of adjacent neighborhoods is not only inconsiderate, but almost certainly a fire code violation having that many people in the building at once.

Here for a volleyball tournament. This place is super outdated. Needs a face lift. No cell service unless you want to pay for their wifi. Seating is awful and the temperature inside made you sweat when it's 60 degrees outside. If your league plays tournaments here schedule elsehwere.

Visitors can enjoy outdoor fitness stations and a boat ramp for paddling into the river. Additionally, there are picnic shelters and areas for gatherings.
Exceptional outdoor recreational areas for all your needs. Including safe trails, exciting playgrounds, gated and friendly dog park with amazing views! Also an on-site updated indoors all inclusive recreation center. I love using this facility there are fees for members but some are free for usage of the facility. Overall one of Indy's more well known gems!

My 2 Bostons love the dog park it’s worth getting the membership. Most of the owners are very good about picking up after their dogs. Running water during the warm months and members buy and donate kiddie pools for pups who enjoy playing and cooling off! During the winter months my dogs enjoy the park as well. Most dogs are well behaved. It’s a social time for the pups and the parents as well! I love this place it truly is “Dog Heaven”💕

This is a large, wooded park along the river. There's are gravel walking paths, picnic shelters, a playground, and a large dog park. Benches are well placed throughout this park and mature trees provide tons of shade. Towards the back of the park, there's also a wooden overlook that provides a nice view of the river.
Carolyn R — Google review
A great deal of planning, community input, and dedicated effort have clearly been poured into this park. Far more than a static green space, Broad Ripple Park is a public treasure trove of outdoor (and indoor) recreation. Although some of the amenities require sign in rotas or membership to make use of them, these restrictions are obviously there to protect these phenomenal resources and ensure they continue to benefit the local community for many years to come. In my brief time visiting the park, I found many great ideas, implemented well, which I would desperately love to bring to my own hometown. If you find yourself with a free afternoon, you would be well served to see this park for yourself.

Had tickets to a concert and we couldn't park there! The person I had with me has a condition where is hurts to walk long distance and when we asked about ADA parking the guy told us there was none. So we ended up not even seeing the show... very disappointed!
Brandi B — Google review
Nice park for a show. Good crowd and a few food trucks.
Ivebeeneverywhereman — Google review
Don't park away from the dog park or you may get your car damaged or crazy sauce splattered on it by juveniles driving around the parking lot and throwing things out the window. It seems teens like to roam into the park in the evenings by foot and car and there's no security or police presence.
Timmysun P — Google review
We go here often with our toddler and I've never had any issues with cleanliness or broken anything, which is a huge plus. There's a fenced in dog park at the front entrance, a new family center that I think even hosts kids' parties, walking trails, picnic benches, and a good sized playground. I'm only knocking off 1 star because the bathrooms are almost never open and available which makes our visits shorter than we'd like.

Rhodius Park is a popular neighborhood destination with various amenities for outdoor activities. It features basketball and tennis courts, an outdoor pool, and a recreational center with a game room. Visitors enjoy sledding during winter and tubing in the snow. The park offers ample space for picnics, sports, walks, and other gatherings. Families appreciate the safe environment with plenty of children's games available.
We love this pool! It is big, has a diving board, no slides, water basketball goal! My 12 yr.old picks this pool over Riverside that has 2 waterslides. He likes it because he can actually swim! Lots of space to enjoy without feeling crowed!
Jean N — Google review
Per the website they are open, but when you arrive they won’t let you in. The person at the front desk, said “per the manager, they are cleaning the pool and will open in one hour”. However, when you walk up or drive by the pool appears to be OPEN. It’s noon now. So the pool opens “whenever”. Don’t waste your walk or drive 😂 Oh and be prepared for an Instant attitude from Staff. I just asked why they weren’t open and it was slamming hands, jumping up and eyes rolling. No thanks. I wanted to take a long lunch and enjoy the sun not this garbage. Do better. I wanted to give my grandparents old hood a second chance. Sadly it’s just not other the trouble to give back, at times.

Very spacious, plenty of lifeguards, clean water, friendly staff, life jackets Surrounded by playgrounds, &ball diamond

Rhodius Park is a lovely green space with well-maintained trails, picnic areas, and playgrounds. Perfect for family outings and peaceful nature walks. Highly recommended!

I found it very fun to do with the snow and in summer there is where to recreate with friends and family very safe many games for children this great just need to enjoy them
David O — Google review
It's an awesome park to go to but needs updated because the benches and some of the play area is rusted falling apart and there are rubber slabs missing making it easy for children to trip and fall if they're playing tag running and not paying attention.
Samantha H — Google review
Nephew is in the softball little league, nice clean environment, has a concession stand. Everyone was friendly

They have a pretty decent sized pool and it's well maintained. Plenty of seating and patio furniture. More than enough safety and floatation devices

Stout Field Park is a fantastic destination for families with young children, offering a variety of activities to keep everyone entertained. The park features a well-designed splash pad and playground with unique structures and interactive water games. Additionally, visitors can make use of the onsite restrooms and shelter house with tables. With paved walking trails throughout the park, it's an ideal spot for kids of all ages to enjoy outdoor fun while staying active.
Over the years they have really developed this park into a great place for the local kids to go to. It has a good size splash pad and the playground is really unique. It also has a few paved walking trails. Good for kids of all ages.

Plenty of activities to cool off and get some exercise with the toddler. Restrooms onsite, splash park, jungle gyms of cool shapes and activities. Interactive water and games. Shelter house with tables. Plenty of sidewalk to walk, run, bike or scooter on.
Driver M — Google review
My great grand kids go there and it a wonderful school and playground.
Karen M — Google review
Second year in a row we showed up after reserving the shelter house only to find people already there & it totally trashed. These photos are just one side of the shelter house, the other side was 10x worse. If we reserve something for $50, we expect it to be decent enough that when our toddlers are running around, we don’t have to worry about them stepping on broken glass or picking up someone else’s old drinks. It was absolutely disgusting. Also, to add to this, both trash cans were overflowing. The one for the shelter house disappeared. The bathrooms were locked after us being told they would be open. Highly recommend NOT renting/reserving this shelter house.

In the autumn of 2021, I began taking tennis lessons at IRC, an excellent tennis club located on Dean Road in Indianapolis. Despite being a newcomer to the sport and lacking hand-eye coordination skills, I felt anxious about learning as an adult. However, the coaches at IRC are exceptional in their ability to instruct players of all levels with a non-intimidating and enjoyable approach.
Tons of courts with good viewing areas. The pro shop is top notch. They have all the latest clothes, rackets and shoes. They even have super cute tennis gifts, like coasters, plates and trays. The sweatshirts with the club's name on them are very high quality, super soft. Prices on shoes are usually a little less here than online or in other stores.
Amy G — Google review
I went to the Indy Racquet Club to get some vintage tennis rackets strung. Staff were so welcoming and more than willing to help. They only charged $20 a racket (Dick’s charges $25 a racket). They were finished with all 4 rackets in just 2 days, and they did a phenomenal job. Also, their pro shop has the widest selection of dampeners I have ever seen. I ended up going with the emoji dampeners because they made me smile the most (and they were recommended by a staff member). Definitely an inviting atmosphere and positive environment at this club. Will be going here for any future tennis needs!
Jamie C — Google review
The pro shop was outstanding. Was in a bind and needed my daughter's raquet restrung mid season and in a hurry. Called other places and was told it would take a week. With her having another match in 2 days that didn't work. Call here and the pro shop got me in same day and out in less than an hour. Friendly service and a great selection. Recommend this place to everyone.
Scott I — Google review
I've been going to the Indianapolis Racquet Club for a while now, and it's always a great experience. The service is friendly, and the pro shop is awesome. I don’t play tennis, but I do play pickleball—and they’ve got a great selection of paddles. I really like that they offer a rental program so you can try out paddles before buying. They also have a nice variety of shoes, and the staff is always super helpful. Definitely recommend checking it out!
Ben W — Google review
Exceptional service! The staff in the pro shop is friendly, helpful, welcoming, extremely knowledgeable, and they take great care of their customers. My daughter has played several tournaments there, it's a very nice facility with lots of courts and multiple viewing options. Facilities are well taken care of.
Jared U — Google review
It has been over a year since the first time I visited IRC, and I am pretty impressed with the upgrades to the facility they have made. The front reception looks very professional and clean, the facade looks very modern. The locker rooms are very clean and they have an extensive pro shop.
Kelsey W — Google review
Beautiful facility. Kiddo had a fantastic time playing.
Mindframe — Google review
IRC pro shop has good selection of products , many products and rackets always on sale that is better than anywhere else I don’t like their aggressive welcoming behaviors however . They start with, you need anything , how can I help you , etc .. this makes customers uncomfortable right off the bat ! Customers often times they have something in mind and they will ask about it or just exploring around to see if there is something they could buy . I think this culture should change to give customers more space .
