The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is a lively amusement park located on a scenic mile-long sandy beach. Established in 1907, it offers a blend of thrilling rides and entertaining activities, set against the backdrop of the Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary. Visitors can enjoy historic attractions such as the Looff Carousel and the iconic Giant Dipper wooden roller coaster.
Definitely a cool experience. I like the fact that there's no admission fees. You pay for what you do, not what you look at. Lots of awesome birds and seals to look at. Lots of fun activities and good 'fair food.' Travellers beware: parking is a nightmare. Either you need to get there when the lots open, or find a place 1+ km away and walk in. It's a nice walk, so I recommend the latter. Do NOT try to get down to the boardwalk parking...I spent literally 30 minutes trying to go a couple kilometers.

Summer Nostalgia at Its Best 🎡🌭✨ So many great summer memories of coming here with my family — and even from when I was a kid myself! While a few things have changed (no more darts to pop the balloons and the games are now cashless), the magic is still there. Who Can forget going on the carousel and getting the ring that you tossed to the clown to make his eyes light up The corn dogs and funnel cakes are just as amazing as ever, and the people-watching? Still unbeatable. 🎠💛
Gina R — Google review
The Boardwalk and the entire beach is such a fun place to visit with friends or family. The beach is great to relax and play some sports. Lots of arcades and rides for young people and kids. The walk is long with lots of shops and restaurants to dine in, and of course, the seals make a lovely side attraction. Best to visit in the morning to beat the traffic and find parking a little more easily.
David I — Google review
This is a really cool spot to walk, people watch, and have a little fun, but our feelings were mixed on our visit. First, parking across the street is $20 flat rate. So even if you’re there 30 minutes you’re in for $20. Second, rides are extremely expensive. They REALLY want you to buy wristbands but the lines can be very long so it wasn’t worth it for us. The fair style food was good but the other options seemed mediocre at best. The arcade was actually outstanding and had reasonable rates, which my family enjoyed quite a bit!
Marshall C — Google review
Had a blast!! Been going here since I was 12! Seen lots of changes thru the years. This is one of the best visits. Ride and attractions and food options improved. Love the addition of the tables and benches to eat!! Overall it was a great experience Thank you!!!
Tina L — Google review
I haven't been here in years! Me and my family had a great time here. Went on a Friday where they had movie night Clueless was playing. It wasn't as busy as Saturday the kids got to ride each ride once. The beach could be cleaner. The food was delicious everything that we ordered was good. Fries could be freshly made tho. Hotel was a 13 min walk which was nice. The area did have some bums around but didn't harass us. Didn't get to play at the arcade and the casino isn't a real casino lol!!
Boss J — Google review
Even though I live in the area and have visited several times over the years, I had forgotten how much fun it could be. Our group spanned ages 5 to 70 and a good time was had by all. There is something here for every age range lots of rides and of course a beautiful stretch of sandy beach. Check it out.
CV ( — Google review
We are willing to take the long drive for us to get here. Brought family from out of state to enjoy the beach and Boardwalk. Plenty of beach to find a spot even on a busy day. Then when you or the kids have had enough sand you can go use the foot shower and enjoy the rides, carnival type games, and arcade on the boardwalk. You can pay per ride which is $5 and $8 in 2025, or buy an unlimited wristband for $80. Parking in the lot has gone up to $30. One of my favorite rides is getting wet on a sunny day with the splashy ending of the log ride. The family all sat down together at one of the spray race games and won my grandson a stuffed animal. There are also fun food booths. Expect crowds on a Saturday in summer.

Mysterious Sites
Located in a dense redwood forest, the Mystery Spot has been captivating visitors since its discovery in 1939. This peculiar attraction defies gravity and challenges perception, with people and objects appearing tilted instead of upright. Despite extensive scientific interest, the cause of these strange phenomena remains unknown. The site's mysterious nature has led to various theories, including extraterrestrial influences.
This place was an absolute hit for the family and I! Our tour guide Jim (if that’s even his real name lol) did such a wonderful job! The jokes were top notch and this was second time for two people from our group and they said it was even better than the last time they went! The price for the 45 minute tour was spot on and don’t forget to tip your tour guide! 🤗 This was one of the highlights of our family trip! If you haven’t booked your tour yet and are still on the fence? Don’t think twice!! Go book now 🐌🌱

Fun and unique place to visit! 🌲 Buy tickets online ahead of time (we waited 3½ hours because we didn’t know). No cell service, but we enjoyed a beautiful hike while waiting (watch little ones — steep drop-offs!). Downtown Santa Cruz and the boardwalk are only about 10 minutes away, so you can explore while you wait. Tour was short but our guide Megan was hilarious and made it great. Overall, awesome experience and worth checking out!
Renee — Google review
Finally visited The Mystery Spot after 10 years in the Bay Area and numerous trips to Santa Cruz. First impression: it’s just a dilapidated house - I expected much more from the area than that. But honestly, that’s more than enough. The marketing of this place is on another level. The tour guide’s presentation alone is worth more than the $10 ticket - they put in so much effort, and you really fall for their presentation. Plus, they’re hilarious. Definitely a fun experience. I don’t believe it’s otherworldly; it’s just an optical illusion at its best, presented the right way. Book your tickets online ahead of time - we did, and we were in and out in an hour. Enjoyed the experience.
Nikhil — Google review
This place was so cool. It was such an amazing experience. I am very sensitive to everything around me and I really felt an odd feeling whenever I entered into what they call the 'Mystery Spot'. It wasn't just because everything looked cockeyed, but it was literally a feeling in my body. I felt like I was carrying around an additional 50 lb on each of my legs. It was the weirdest feeling. It was really cool how everything in this place seem to defy physics. Our guide was super knowledgeable and made it even more fun just because of her great personality. Highly recommend checking this place out and if you can buying your tickets online beforehand especially if it's going to be during a busy time.
Porsche D — Google review
Wow this is definitely a very cool and trippy experience nestled in the beautiful redwoods. There’s a few demonstrations which are cool and some photo opportunities as well. Whole tour takes about 45 minutes and the tour guides are always interesting. The gift shop is great too and totally worth the 10 bucks. Buy advance tickets if you plan on visiting during a busy weekend.
Andrew — Google review
I grew up around the Santa Cruz area and have always wanted to come to the mystery spot since I was a kid. Since I had to move out of state, on vacation 23 years later, I got to bring my family with me to enjoy this small but great attraction. We had fun and enjoyed every moment. The tour guy was awesome, too! Great memories!
Joe A — Google review
The mystery spot is tucked away in the gorgeous spot in the woods. I love their little sitting area to relax while you wait for your tour time, and the gift shop was fun to look through as well. The waiting area and the bathrooms were kept clean, and the weather was just right when we went. The drive into/out of this spot can be a little sketchy in certain spots depending on how big your vehicle is as some spots of the road are a bit narrow for two cars to be going side by side. This was a fun spot to visit with my family, our tour guide was energetic and did a great job. The Mystery spot itself is neat, it was pretty crazy to see the demonstrations because they really do seem to defy gravity and how you perceive what is 'normal'. I honestly can not remember how long the tour was, but it was a decent amount of time and they allow you enough time to take some fun photos. This spot is not handicap or stroller friendly. The slope up to the little shack which is the mystery spot is quite steep and with the slanted angles your ankles/body will be in while walking through the shack will be hard on certain people.
Luna B — Google review
Marvelous mystery in a beautiful forest! Weekends are packed, so if you want less of a crowd, during the week better! Inside the home itself you can feel a little nauseous or vertigo because of the massive incline at which the house is positioned. Nothing permanent, just a crazy feeling. Fascinating to observe and experience! A must-see!

Specialty Museums
The Santa Cruz Surfing Museum is a small but superb museum that lies along the top of the scenic West Cliff Drive in Santa Cruz, California. It contains fabulous photos and short films, surfboards and memorabilia related to surfing culture and local history.
Small, poignant, smile-inducing homage to local surf culture & history, lovingly curated & housed in a charming, functioning, red brick one-room lighthouse, that’s also a bittersweet family memorial for a son lost to the waves & his passion. Sitting alone amidst a lovely green lawn, standing prominently on a spit of land overlooking famous Steamer Lane, with a commanding view of the surfing action down below. Very limited hours, but well-worth planning for! Limited parking on site, but easily walkable from all other nearby sites.
Kaliador18 — Google review
Didn’t go to the actual museum.. However an amazing spot to visit, good views of the sifters down below catching waves..

Visted as sun was setting great place to just chill with some Music playing in background. Parking can be busy. Did not go into the musuem
Mark T — Google review
I've been here many times, but I've never seen it inside. It's just a place where I sat on a chair and drank a drink and enjoyed the sunset and the rising sun a lot. It's a place where you can enjoy the surfing of many surfers and just make you feel happy when you see your dog running on the wide lawn. I hope you take the time and enjoy the time someday !! It is priceless !!!!
Kai D — Google review
Nice little free museum! The location makes it worth visiting.

If you are into surfing, this is a must-see. There are lots of cool pictures and boards from the 1930s to 1990. Free parking and free to get in.

While visiting Santa cruz, I have been wanting to check this museum out. Unfortunately, Google was wrong and said it opened at 10 but didn't open til noon. We weren't able to check out inside the museum, but we still were able to have a great view of the coast and surfer watch, which wasn't too disappointing.

Park
Wilder Ranch State Park, located a few miles west of Natural Bridges, spans over 7,000 acres of diverse landscapes including grassland, forest, and bluffs along the Pacific Ocean. The park offers various activities such as hiking on its 35+ miles of trails, picnicking in designated areas, and even horseback riding. Visitors can explore historic buildings that were once part of a coastal dairy farm and enjoy quieter beaches like Four Mile Beach.
The state park has excellent views and is great for trail running and cycling. I saw multiple people biking in the trails, and the views are simply stunning. Surprisingly it wasn’t very crowded, considering how close it is to Santa Cruz.
Shashank — Google review
Wilder Ranch State Park is a great spot for families with kids. The historic ranch area has farm animals like goats and chickens, which younger children really enjoy. There are easy walking and biking trails with nice ocean views, perfect for a relaxed outdoor day. Kids can learn a bit about history and nature, and there’s plenty of space to explore and play. It’s a fun and simple way to spend time outdoors as a family.
Seena — Google review
The Fern Grotto is a must destination in the park. The vegetation seemed to drip down water like a rain forest. Taking the Old Cove Landing Trail takes about 45 min, but yields breath-taking views of the cultural preserve beaches and cliffs. A shorter back trail will also get there in 30 minutes, but is not as scenic. Be sure to bring footwear to cross the sandy beach.
Steve — Google review
A little slice of paradise. Small slice although. The land is surrounded by farms. It's to wonder if we couldn't leave more space to all these animals. Lucky we are to live in such a beautiful place. Highly recommend to come by bicycle from Santa Cruz if you can and avoid driving there unless you can't. It's a beautiful and easy ride.. The whole loop is 4km long so it takes 1 hour to walk, or 2 hours most likely since you'll stop everywhere to watch and enjoy the beauty of this coast.
Olivier M — Google review
Lovely hike, but the start and end could be confusing as the trails aren't obviously marked. Took the trail to the Fern Grotto, which was amazing! Found lots of seaglass too. Lots of wildlife, wild flowers (late May), and beautiful views. It can be windy and chilly, even in the summer - layers are recommended. The hike was easy - we are in our fifties and trying get get healthier so are novices. Great biking, wide paths. Easy to get to.
Karen T — Google review
Absolutely magnificent 👌 We went along the coastal trail. Stunning views, wild flowers everywhere, beautiful birds, brown pelicans flying everywhere, seals doing what they do best... resting. Well kept path, flat, and wide. Two things we missed, a map to help us first timers, and some benches along the way for us old visitors... but the experience was superb!
Oscar L — Google review
Wilder Ranch feels calm and beautiful. The wide ocean views and quiet trails help you feel relaxed and free. The old farm buildings take you back in time. If your kid loves animals, they’ll enjoy seeing horses, goats, cows, chickens, and sheep. It’s peaceful, a little lonely in spots, but full of natural beauty and charm. You can also enjoy seeing sea lions🦭it’s good for hiking or biking. Few benches were there to enjoy your meal if you have. Restrooms available but it wasn’t so hygienic that day not sure about other days. **Pets are not allowed in the car or in the park**
Amrita P — Google review
Beautiful hike with a coastal view of Pacific Ocean. Several hikes to choose from ranging from easy to hard. The waters are surprisingly blue and seals, seagulls, just remember to wait out for mountain lions

What a gem! We (2 adults) had a great visit. Kids would love it too, but we enjoyed the touch pools as much as kids! Everyone here was so knowledgeable and willing to answer questions. They also have a great tour revolving around conservation and research. Our tour guide, Kevin, was great to talk to and we learned so much. I highly recommend carving out time to visit this amazing place. We spent about 1.75 hours here and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Our wedding at the Seymour Marine Discovery Center was an absolutely unforgettable experience, and we're still glowing from the memories! The venue itself is breathtaking, with that stunning ocean overlook providing the most magical backdrop for our ceremony and photos. The unique combination of natural beauty and the interactive exhibits and aquarium really made our celebration stand out. Our guests were absolutely charmed and engaged throughout the entire event – it was truly a 'fin-tastic' time! We can't say enough about Venk and Cassidy. Their professionalism and friendly demeanor were invaluable during the planning process and on the day itself. They were incredibly responsive, attentive to every detail, and truly went above and beyond to ensure our wedding was perfect. Their expertise and genuine enthusiasm made us feel completely at ease. They were always there to lend a 'helping fin' and made sure everything went 'swimmingly.' The Seymour Marine Discovery Center delivered a truly unique and memorable wedding experience. If you're looking for a venue that combines natural beauty, educational charm, and exceptional service, we wholeheartedly recommend it. Our wedding was a dream come true, and we're so grateful to Venk, Cassidy, and the entire team for making it so special. We were 'hooked' from the start, and it was a day we'll 'sea-riously' never forget! Photos by: Soil and Sea Photography

The UC Santa Cruz Arboretum & Botanic Garden is a sprawling 135-acre sanctuary located on the campus of the University of California Santa Cruz. It features a diverse collection of flora from California and around the world, including rare and threatened species. The arboretum aims to educate visitors about plant conservation while providing a beautiful outdoor experience. Notable attractions include the Eucalyptus Grove, Butterfly Garden, and Australia Garden, as well as a thriving local hummingbird population.
Amazing spot in Santa Cruz to see some spectacular plants and the wildlife they attract. There are four main places represented - South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and California, with thoughtfully arranged trails and sculptures among the plants. Saw so many hummingbirds when I was there, as well as a gopher snake, butterflies, bees, lizards and a huge array of other birds. It's free to enter the first Tuesday of every month, otherwise it's $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $5 for kids. There's also a great shop where you can buy relatives of the plants you've seen to take home.
Helen M — Google review
I highly recommend checking out this place when you visit Santa Cruz. There's three main areas: Australian, New Zealand, and South African. They also have a small succulent area right in front of the gift shop, which was my favorite. It took us about 40 min to see the majority of the plants. It's all outdoor and the area seems to get hot during the day so I recommend bringing a hat and sun cream. Plenty of parking space, and restrooms are available.
Ki P — Google review
I highly recommend checking out this place, if you’re in the area. It’s more than worth the recommended donation for entry. They have a cute little shop that you can purchase plants, seeds, etc. The gardens span a pretty large area, so I would plan on giving yourself 1-2 hours to make your way through it and check out all of the cool plants.
Rose T — Google review
I’m a sucker for a good Arboretum!! Really interesting South African and Australian plants and trees growing there. Plenty of sweet little places to sit/admire! Teeming with bees, lizards, and little wildlife. Very dreamy—would love to have it as my backyard 😎🤩
Erin T — Google review
It’s a beautiful garden in a very natural setting. There are many sections with different regional plants which deserve a whole day to explore. Also we came here for it’s famous for Anna’s hummingbird. It’s quite true. You could hear their distinctive sound once entering the garden. It’s basically everywhere. Also we saw California quail. Although it’s not very greenish because of fall season it’s still quite pretty.
Satsuki H — Google review
Suggested donation $10/person. Great areas highlighting plants from Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. Lots of hummingbirds! Cute gift shop with plants for sale!
Richard A — Google review
This place is pretty amazing. All sorts of interesting plants originally from South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia. Very weird and fascinating things that bloom here. I have been maybe five times, and every time felt worth the trip. Whatever you do, don’t miss the maple syrup tree that is very near the gift shop. Ask an employee to point it out to you if you can’t find it. Or smell it. You stand anywhere near it and it absolutely smells like maple syrup!
Zoe H — Google review
The map is useless. Just wander. Be careful of your step. Few of the paths are wheelchair friendly. The plant labels need attention; more of them, please, and legible. Take care at the entrance. It's not well marked.

This tour boat agency offers year-round excursions that allow you to witness the majestic marine life of California's coast. Each season brings a unique opportunity to see various species, including humpback and gray whales, as well as dolphins and porpoises. The prime whale-watching seasons span from late spring through early fall for humpbacks and winter months for gray whales.
This charter is absolutely incredible! From the all-female crew to the breathtaking wildlife encounters, it truly delivers. Captain Megan showcased her exceptional skills, expertly navigating the boat to ensure everyone on board had the best views. Sam, the naturalist and Julie the co-captain, were fantastic—they kept us engaged with fascinating information about the marine life while we waited for dives and surfacings. I can’t emphasize enough how much this is the boat to choose. The crew went above and beyond, even making sure the kids were engaged, entertained, and learning throughout the trip. Highly recommend!

Went on a shark expedition today and, although we did not see any sharks we did see a very active humpback whale! Staff were knowledgeable and professional. Ship was clean and felt safe. Was a nice way to spend a couple of hours. Bathroom on board was clean and snack bar was well stocked.
Nate L — Google review
Great whale watching, but the boat was extremely crowded. My wife and I had a hard time finding a seat on deck, which for someone with a bad back like me, made the tour difficult as I had to stand the large majority of the trip. The tour itself was splendid. Saw sea otters, humpback whales, and great white sharks, and tons of ocean wildlife. The naturalist on board was extremely knowledgeable, and the crew incredibly friendly. Aside for the overcrowding, the trip was extremely pleasant and I would highly recommend the cruise.
Daniel J — Google review
Had a great trip with Santa Cruz Whale watching! Sydney was such a great naturalist and the captain got us some close encounters with some whales. We even had a breach right next to the boat! Would definitely recommend!
Carli W — Google review
Fantastic experience. Great staff, very educated. Very informative. Speaker on the boat was a little crackly, but they fixed it, plenty of room, coffee was hot, whales were awesome. We followed 3 or 4 had great views. We went late April.
Holly W — Google review
They can't promise you will see whales of course because, well, whales are wild creatures and go where they please, but these guys sure did a great job of finding them and giving us some great views. I've been out on the waters before, but this trip was unlike anything I'd experienced. Seeing the whales out playing, feeding, diving simply took my breath away. Both the captain and the naturist who was aboard to help educate us, as well as the rest of the crew, did a fantastic job!
Kieran S — Google review
Boat is pretty small and not a lot of room for people to sit. We were standing for a majority of the ride. It's about 1 hour going out into the pacific ocean, 30 to 50 minutes of watching and another hour to get back to the dock. It was cool and we saw some dolphins and a few gray whales.
Denise C — Google review
Sam, Sydney and the Captain were all awesome, very attentive and informative. They found the whales and we saw the whales several times as they came up for air before their next dive. Lots of flukes! I would definitely go again!!!

The Santa Cruz Museum of Art & History is a spacious venue offering interactive art and history exhibitions suitable for all ages. One of its current exhibits, "Atmosphere," by Monterey Bay artist Enid Baxter Ryce, explores the winter weather patterns in Northern California through various mediums such as paintings, photographs, film, and an interactive soundscape sculpture. The museum also features engaging exhibits that delve into the region's cultural diversity and history.
What a treasure. This was my first visit, and they had a "Woman comic book creators" exhibit, very interesting and fun. Their history of Santa Cruz exhibit is fascinating. Ot had something for every age. Well worth the visit.

We came here to see the “Accidentally Wes Anderson” exhibit and enjoyed our visit. The presentation and space had the appropriate vibe for the subject matter and it was fun to see all the local references. The more permanent history exhibit on the other half of the second floor is also worth a visit. The sculpture garden is a pleasant enough space, but fewer sculptures than you might expect. The adjacent food court was a welcome surprise.

Are you a member? Why not? Support this small amazing small museum. They have wonderful exhibitions, engaging community events, and a spectacular staff. I had my wedding here and couldn't have been happier with the outcome. Please support the MAH, it's only $60 a year.

I can honestly call myself a "museum nerd" at this point in life as for the amazing museums I have gotten to see. While one can travel to larger cities to see grand exhibits of artwork, the MAH (Museum of Art & History) keeps a local mind and focuses on revealing the past through the eyes of the Santa Cruzian. The recent exhibition of redwood surfboards is particularly astounding, as you are not only overcome with a mindset of our surf history and how it has wiggled its way into our world and culture, where those who do not even surf know where Steamer Lane is, names like O'Neill, Billabong, Rip Curl and use the terms "dude", "awesome" and other surf lingo in their daily vernacular. The MAH also defends its history through its people and places. How each diversity has somehow contributed to our society over time and how places, such as Cabrillo College and UCSC have helped shape our minds. If you have not had the chance, spend the $10. The MAH is worth the visit.

After nearly a year of being closed since the pandemic, the MAH has opened up to members and exhibiting artist. We went in last Friday to see our 11 year old daughter's art that she had submitted for the exhibit " In These Uncertain Times". They give you a 30 minute time slot for you and your family when you register. We were able to see most of the exhibits, but didn't have time to read a lot of the descriptions. I let them know it would be helpful to have a little longer to take a little more time for that. I hope you enjoy your visit as we have!

Nestled in the heart of Santa Cruz, Mission Santa Cruz 1791 is a captivating historical site that invites visitors to explore its rich past. Originally established by Spanish Franciscan missionaries, this mission was the twelfth in California and played a significant role in the cultural exchange between European settlers and local indigenous tribes like the Amah Mutsun and Yokuts.
A lovely, calm place. Full of history. The young woman who did the tour was well informed and very nice!
Patricia B — Google review
This “mission” is much smaller than others in California in that this one is a reconstruction of the original mission and a third of the size. The main mission was destroyed long ago, and according to the very informative volunteer, was actually located underneath where the church across the street now stands. Still worth a quick stop, maybe 10-20 minutes. Say a prayer, and light a candle 🕯️

A bit of history on a Sunday morning. A nice walk up the hill from the boardwalk.

Quiet place of respite, overlooking downtown Santa Cruz and Monterey Bay, with interesting exhibits, a gift shop and a nice picnic area.
James G — Google review
Kinda weird to rate a place that was built on the forced labor and torture of indigenous peoples. Regardless of how you feel about missions or religious colonialism, this place is historical, and I appreciate learning about history. The mission and chapel are replicas of the original mission, which was destroyed during earthquakes in the 19th century. It features a tiny museum with artifacts from Fr. Junipero Serra's time, a gift shop, and a nice garden and fountain behind the chapel. One of California's smaller missions. Worth a visit if you're into California history and in the area.
Mary R — Google review
Cute small Mission, well maintained. Masses are celebrated here, there's a small gift shop, and a walk to the pass, entrance is free.

Absolutely love visiting the CA Missions. This particular mission is smaller and newer than others. The original was destroyed in earthquakes in the 1800s. This one was built in the 1930’s

Neptune's Kingdom is a nautical-themed entertainment center located at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, offering a variety of family-friendly activities. Visitors can enjoy an exciting pirate-themed game of mini-golf with firing cannons and animatronics, as well as arcade games and casual dining options. The amusement park also features carnival games at the Midway Games section, providing additional entertainment for guests. With its proximity to the beach, visitors can take a break from the crowds and enjoy some time by the ocean.
Went on a weekday so pretty much everything was closed but the mini golf was open. Had a really fun time and pretty much had the place to ourselves. Also gotta love a pirate theme.

Neptune’s Kingdom is a fun, laid-back spot with something for everyone. The small bar area provides a cozy place to unwind, while the arcade, pool table, and air hockey keep the energy high. Fantastic place. My family enjoyed this indoor mini golf course. Fun for all ages. We really liked the glow in the dark area the most. Only reason not a 5 star review because it was too many people waiting seemingly pressuring you to hurry up and make your shot and keep moving. I recommend.
T. F — Google review
What an absolute blast! $10 gets you 18 holes, and a ton of fun to be had! I'm a bit biased because I've always loved pirates, but this place is very well done in the sense of the theme and all of the decor surrounding the area. The two story miniature golf course and the lighthouse elevator are both really fun touches. Didn't try the arcade for myself personally, so I can't say what works and what doesn't, but everything appeared to be in working order with all of the colorful flashing lights and arcade sounds. They have a lot of brand new games and old classics alike ! Can't wait to come back again !!

BEWARE OF SCAM IN MAGIC STORE There's a magic store inside, they sold my son "magic rope", he even showed him how to do the trick. Appearantly he told my son not to open it until we left (I didn't hear that part). Once we got into the car (hours later) we opened the box and it was empty. $11 down the drain.

Cowell Beach, located near the popular Santa Cruz Boardwalk and Main Beach, offers a range of beachside activities and entertainment. It is known for its larger swells that attract surfers. The beach is clean, safe, and suitable for families with children as well as solo travelers. Situated in a sheltered cove alongside Main Beach, it provides stunning views, picturesque sunsets, and golden sand.
Was here in Janurary off season. Beautiful beach to walk. There is a wharf and the town has some restaurants open. There are public bathroom by the volleyball and were clean and decent.

Cowell Beach is a relaxing coastal spot with soft sands and a great view of the Santa Cruz Wharf. My family and I have enjoyed peaceful walks along the shore, watching surfers take on the waves. The beach is less crowded than the main Boardwalk area, making it a great place to unwind. Parking can be tricky, especially on weekends, but arriving early helps. The water is cool but refreshing, and the atmosphere is laid-back. Whether you're here for a quick stop or a full beach day, Cowell Beach offers a calm and scenic experience.

One of my Fav beaches in SC that I grew up going to. Volleyball court, lifeguard, and handicap ramp, store and dining nearby. Next to The Dream Inn, w/access to pool. Jr Lifeguards go here so beware during summer but there's still room. Sometimes has a lot of kelp. View of Cowells surfing. The main reason to go here is accessibility w/out going to main w/all the tourists, just some.
Mysti D — Google review
Nice beach for family, especially in hot summer. Windy and a little bit chilly when walking and watching sea lion on the bridge. You have to walk to the end of the bridge to watch the sea lions. It is hard to find a place for parking in the afternoon. You may try street parking or on the bridge with $3 for 3 hours, $4 within 4 hours. A little bit crowded at weekend, but you can find a place to play with less people along the long beach. Recommend the beach on the right side of the bridge, there is a quick shower facility next to the beach entrance.
Angel H — Google review
Great promenade along the ocean side with spectacular views.
Serhii M — Google review
It is small beach in front of the hotel. The cowell beach is just side by side of main beach which is a lot larger and crowded. The good point about cowell is clean restrooms right behind it.
Elaheh A — Google review
The quintessential Santa Cruz beach. Activities here range from sunbathing, walking along the waves on the long flat beach, collecting seashells, watching surfers, or braving the cold water to swim. The length of the beach varies significantly with tide, but the side near the wharf is always there (unless it's the rainy season when there's a large river that runs through it). There can sometimes be a lot of stinky seaweed on the beach too, but that's part of the experience. Parking is also hard because there are so many tourist attractions around, but there's a shuttle that brings people from the downtown parking garage to the beach during the summer, so that's helpful.
Brian Z — Google review
Okay beach with a lot of people. It is a little farther from the Boardwalk which make it less noisy. However, it is crowded. There is no table to eat but there is restrooms. Lots of homeless people near the stairs. About 15 minutes walking distance to many parking that are affordable (5$ day). The beach has algae and lots of surfers.

The harbor is one of my favorite places to go to in Santa Cruz! Of course, it is literally right next to my favorite beach, Twin Lakes! There is always something to do here, whether it is a walk around the harbor or out on the jetty or down the beach which is best to walk at low tide. You can eat Mexican food, grab a mocha, sit down to eat at the Crows Nest and more! In addition, you can rent a kayak or a paddle board as well as set sail on the Chardonnay or an O’Neil adventure. Grab a coffee at Java Junction. And watch the sunrise or take a seat at the Crows Nest and watch the sunset. There is all this and more to do and see!

Santa Cruz Beach is a popular destination known for its lively boardwalk featuring numerous restaurants, amusement park rides, and surf shops. The area offers a unique and relaxing hotel just blocks away from the downtown excitement and historic amusement park. Santa Cruz's rich surf culture dates back to 1885 when surfing was introduced by Hawaiian princes. While surfing is a prominent activity, the region also boasts various outdoor options along the picturesque Monterey Bay.
Cruz Beach is the perfect mix of ocean views, good vibes, and fun energy. The sand is clean, the waves are great for a quick splash or surf, and the sunset views are absolutely beautiful. You can grab food or ice cream nearby, walk along the Boardwalk, or just chill and watch the waves. Definitely a great place to go with a significant other or a family. Definitely has a friendly culture. Your night time experience is wonderful as well you can see the end of the wharf to the end of the board walk. Doesn’t require much walking but does get busy in the afternoon highly recommend showing up near opening if you want the best experience. If you want cheaper parking bring quarters and park on the streets.

This beach stretches out to an inlet formed from the bay. Great brown sand with large beach area to put up tents and lounge chairs. Nice breeze thru here today. Entry is thru the free entry of the huge Santa Cruz boardwalk with accessible restrooms and diaper changer as well as multiple food venues like falafel, BarBQ, burgers and multiple snack venues of pretzels ice creams, sodas, 🥤 beer, and more.

Pretty nice, but if you look back the amusement park is kind of an eyesore. Lots of birds at the beach.

Santa Cruz Shakespeare, led by new artistic director Charles Pasternak, offers a captivating summer season at the Audrey Stanley Grove in DeLaveaga Park. The festival features three productions: As You Like It, Hamlet, and The Importance of Being Earnest. In the fall, they will present The Glass Menagerie for the first time and A Christmas Carol during the holiday season at the Veterans Memorial Building in downtown Santa Cruz.
It’s always worth attending Santa Cruz Shakespeare! The ground and side seating is excellent. Bring a blanket and jacket or gets chilly. People bring their own snacks, wine and beer can be purchased along with coffee and hot chocolate. I prefer a giant bag of popcorn and a few beverages. In true this-theater-is-outside-in-the-woods fashion, in the last performance a barn owl landed hooting on the backdrop. Watching theater under the stars among the trees is magical. Become a patron and get cool seat cushions & your name in the program!

Highly recommend Santa Cruz Shakespeare! Everyone should try make it to Shakespeare Santa Cruz every year. It brings talent and variations of Shakespearean plays with creative touches and twists. Location is good although nothing close to UCSC Glen. For matinee one needs hat and sunscreen etc. Food stalls are available offer simple yet tasty pretzels, drinks etc with a hefty price tag :)

Soooooo wonderful ! We go to all the plays and readings. Perfect spot for picnic dinner, and such delightful, thoughtful provoking, marvelous performances. I wish I could see them all again. Never disappoints! (Photo from their social media, no photography allowed)

We saw a superbly acted and produced “Pericles”. Actually we have seen 2 performances of same play elsewhere and this was by far the best! The venue and the ambiance are idyllic. Everyone was friendly. Their parking situation is well organized. Highly recommend. We came from the North Bay to Santa Cruz to see the play and we were impressed!

I just attended the Shakes on the Move adaptation of Midsummer's Night's Dream, at the library for all ages. It was very entertaining, lighthearted, and funny! What a wonderful bunch of actors. I will certainly look forward to attending more shows in the future!

What a great new location! Lovely setting and great production/staging with nice facilities. The food and drink was nice. The seats are improved with a cushion and some warm blankets. Obviously the actors were exceptional and the show was perfect.

Nestled in the heart of Santa Cruz, Landmark's Nickelodeon Theatre is a charming independent cinema that has carved out a niche for itself by showcasing an eclectic mix of indie and foreign films alongside some mainstream releases. This cozy venue not only offers a unique cinematic experience but also delights visitors with its artisanal snack offerings, including organic popcorn and locally crafted desserts.
Love this little theatre. A great experience the staff were very friendly. Went to see parasite the day after it won the oscars and there were only around 25 people in the theater. Plenty of seating.
Wil M — Google review
Love this theater! Very cozy, quaint and filled with great staff who do their job efficiently. Great snacks and ticket prices. Parking is just across the street or right in front(if your lucky). This place only plays the current indie type movies. It's rare to find anything mainstream. Only con is the old style seating. I prefer the recliner seats. I'll put up with crappy seating for a great movie in this one of a kind theater that's the only one of it's kind left in Santa cruz.
Sarah L — Google review
Wow, a great theater experience. Love the independent movies and the neighborhood vibe of this smallish theater. I hope they continue with the retro decor and friendly staff. It's a different, and better experience compared to the large chain theaters, making the movie more memorable. Close enough to Pacific Ave to grab dinner at many restaurants after the show.
Craig O — Google review
The young man with very short brown hair working behind the concession counter was so funny and kind he really made the experience so much fun, he asked if we would like any dessert or popcorn and told us how great the chocolate chip cookies were, that at the end of the day when there is only one left the employees all fight over the last. Really wonderful service, beautiful clean theater, I saw one of the best movies I have ever seen too, the Biggest little farm, I will definitely be going back to see what other independent films are playing ❤👏🤗👐😊 Check it out y'all they even use real butter on the organic amazing popcorn, so so good 🙌😃😉👉👍
Luke C — Google review
This is a great theater mainly because it offers more than the heavily promoted prime time movies and much more of the eclectic, lesser known productions and foreign films. The ticket prices are average and the concession munchies are predictably priced. I use Fandango or Rotten Tomatoes to research what is showing and decide based on selections. Good, reasonably priced parking near by (free after 8:00pm) and plenty of restaurants and eye candy to choose from before the show. Enjoy!!
William E — Google review
Mostly Indie and foreign films at a reasonable price. The snack bar is reasonable, too, unlike the major chains. Yes, the theater is dated, but it's clean and where else can you see these kinds of films (the Del Mar, but that's the same owners)? Note: now owned by small chain, Landmark, but still acts like local theater.
Glenn N — Google review
A great little movie house with 4 theatres. Good pop corn & tasty baked goods. Excellent Indy & art house films are usually shown here. A beloved Santa Cruz movie theatre which makes this town all the more wonderful.
Intelligent T — Google review
About the only "art house" theatre left. Great movies you won't see at the Regals and Cineluxes. We saw The Biggest Little Farm, and Maiden there, The Imitation Game, Beginners and several dozen other GREAT films over the years. Parking no worse (or better) than anywhere else In downtown SC. Go to see films that are memorable, and are worth talking about!

Nestled in the historic Carnegie Library, the Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History has been a treasure trove of knowledge since its establishment in 1905. This captivating museum invites visitors to delve into the diverse flora, fauna, and geology that define the Bay Area. With an impressive array of exhibits showcasing Native American artifacts and natural history specimens, it serves as a hub for exploration and education about our planet's wonders.
Great museum with lots of fun activities and variety of wildlife exhibits. Our 3rd grader loved learning here. Please visit the trees around the Park out front and walk along the path it’s calm and peaceful💜

Very inexpensive $5 for adults, kids are free and adult students are $3. It was very cool we had a great time. It’s small but very informative. They had a lot of local animal taxidermy , fossils, bones , they had live animals , bee colony & sea life . But the best part was the gift shop … check out this amazing book we scored there … see photos ..

Cute, intimate experience & the iconic whale that kids love to climb has been there for decades! This location has plenty of parking and easy for grandparents to navigate because there are inky a few steps from the parking lot! This is the perfect intimate place to bring young naturalist to learn about plants, animals of Santa Cruz. There’s a young children’s craft table and curator to assist and guide the children with projects. The seaweed kelp artist exhibit was interesting and I bought a box of gift cards as a memento of our visit here! If you have time for a picnic take the kids across the street to Seabright Beach & enjoy the afternoon.

A tiny 100-year historic natural history museum. It is a MUST visit if you have kids, won't take more than an hour since it is so TINY inside. Lots of taxidermied birds and animals of the region and some interactive fossil digs and digital microscope. Kids are FREE and adults pay $5. Stuff in the gift shop are so well curated that it is hard to walk away without buying some stuff. And the kids can play on the life-size whale and baby whale outside under the trees while the parents can relax on the seats. Very idyllic. Bonus: right in front of the museum is SeaBright Beach, which is perfect and MUCH better for families compared to the chaotic beach in front of the boardwalk.

While it's perfect for sit-down shows and movies, there is limited standing room in front of the stage and aisles. The venue boasts fantastic acoustics and a large stage with superb sound system.

Watched the Fab Four last Friday. Going here reminded me of how underrated smaller venues like this one are. You get to see the artists from a reasonable distance even if you only managed to get the cheaper seats. I wish the bathroom situation was better but it's not a deal breaker. I would definitely come back if there's another artist I'm interested in.

Caught a movie and a show here featuring the Residents. The price was very reasonable. I have driven by this place for years and never been too. I was happy to see theater style seating. They had a wonderful poster at the front of the house for sale. They are numbered and I want to see who's art this is. Great design work and color

Great local smallish concert/entertainment venue in Santa Cruz. A must visit place for show at least once in your life. Acoustics are great, seats are comfy, and the views of the stage are great in any spot depending on how tall the person sitting in front of you is. Parking can be a little hectic as you may have to find street parking a little distance away - don't let that prevent you from going here, though!

Always a great place to see bands play -- not really a bad seat in the house until everyone stands up in front of you (you'll have to too). And there's beer, but get yours early as they tend to run out and you can be left drinking watermelon vodkas from hell.

Cave Train is a unique and cheesy attraction that has been a favorite for many visitors over the years. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but for those who enjoy gaudy and fun attractions, this is a must-visit. The cave train takes you on an adventure through the caves where you can encounter various creatures, making it an exciting experience for families. While some may find it a bit outdated, it still holds a special place in the hearts of many visitors.

The Landmark's Del Mar Theatre is a historic and iconic Art Deco-style theater located in downtown Santa Cruz. Built in 1936, it has been a local attraction for decades and is known for its oodles of character and history. The theater showcases indie films as well as big-budget movies, offering audiences a unique movie-going experience. With an impressive restoration in 2002, the theater now boasts updated sound and projection systems for a first-rate cinematic experience.
One of the classic theaters still remaining in Santa Cruz and is a wonderful treat to witness a show or performance if you have the choice. I've seen a few movies here and each time have had a good viewing experience. They usually offer both popular hits as well as Indie films that may just be starting to gain some traction. Widescreen theater with ample, comfortable seating and pretty good sound system. The interior of the theater is beautiful and really takes you away from the outside world for just a bit. Staff here were friendly and the restrooms are clean. Can't really ask for more! Tip: You likely don't need to pre-order tickets especially if you're not watching during premier week.

I love the outer design of the old theaters in Northern California. Del Mal Theatre is one of those gems, together with Fox Theatre in Redwood City, and Castro Theatre in San Francisco. Go and watch the last Oscar nominated shorts there – animated, docs or live-action ones. If not the shorts, you'll find something else.

The Del Mar theater provides a great atmosphere and theater going experience! I recently attended one of their october midnight movies, and it was a great time. due to the stadium seating, there really isn’t a bad seat in the house, and the staff is all wonderfully friendly. My only issue with this theater is the strangely low walls in the mens bathroom, which is a little off putting at most.
A H — Google review
What a great theatre! Easy in and outs of the venue with the extra wide aisles. Sound and image quality was solid, but the only negative was limited food options. I know I should feel guilty but they didn’t have any hotdogs to clog my arteries. Would definitely come back to this venue again

Beautiful Art Deco movie theater in downtown Santa Cruz. Check out the gorgeous ceilings and tile work all over the theater. We saw Royal Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew here recently, and it was a fun crowd. We appreciated that the popcorn had real butter (just like in the olden days! lol). Like many old theaters, the seats could use some extra padding. The restrooms made us laugh as they seem to have been transplanted from a kids summer camp.

Nestled in the vibrant heart of Santa Cruz, Neary Lagoon Park is a hidden gem that offers an enchanting escape into nature. This wildlife refuge features scenic trails and floating walkways that allow visitors to immerse themselves in its lush surroundings. As you stroll along the nearly one-mile boardwalk, you'll be captivated by the diverse array of birds, including wood ducks and herons, as they flit about their natural habitat.
Two tennis courts within park! Cool floating walkway through slough. Lotta ducks and mudhens. Great vibe and energy here
Dusty B — Google review
There are bigger playgrounds in Santa Cruz, but when you add in the lagoon walk, the overall experience is really enjoyable. The playground is cute and has a sand pit, a jungle gym, and swings. There is a unisex restroom. There are picnic tables, a tennis court, and of course a long walk through Neary Lagoon, some of which is on a floating trail. Be aware, this is Santa Cruz, which has a large homeless component. This is the only reason we didn’t give the park five stars, simply because stumbling across the homeless with your children can cause some anxiety. The day we visited, there was a homeless gentleman sitting on the slide. He responded to my son politely when my son told him hello. There was another along the Lagoon walk that was also polite and friendly. For those that want to take the walk along the lagoon, keep in mind that the trail is a bit less than 3/4’s of a mile. Not bad, but if you’re carrying an infant or pushing a stroller, it can get you winded. There were reports that one might see goats. We did not. I believe they are brought in randomly to keep the grass and weeds on the surrounding area of the park clear. There are plenty of ducks tho. Our little ones really enjoyed the walk, especially the floating parts of the trail. Here’s hoping your family does too!
KDG — Google review
Mostly boardwalk. Beautiful day, relaxing walk. Lagoon/back-water setting. Lots of interesting birds, butterflies if you're an enthusiast. Parking lot has 5-6 spots only, we got the last one available on a late Sat morning.
Chinmay S — Google review
My boyfriend found this place on TikTok. We went on two different seasons. The first trip was the beginning of January and again in May. Loved it in January. If you are allergic to mosquitos, I wouldn't recommend walking on the boardwalk. The park has a playground, tennis court, a garden and a few sitting areas. The park does have restrooms and a sink to wash your hands outside. I would just bring wipes to sanitize because the homeless do use the restrooms and are in there for hours. I don't mind it, but some people can't clean up after themselves or flush. The boardwalk goes around the lagoon, so it's impossible to get lost. Parking is right on the corner, so it can be pretty easy to miss or just park on the street. Like my 3 year old says, "It's cute."
Bianca B — Google review
Best easy nature experience if you live downtown. Migratory birds, baby ducks, raptors and ... Bobcat!
Julia E — Google review
Pleasant and peaceful place to walk or take your kids to the small playground at the entrance. We saw plenty of ducks and a small turtle.
Bonita J — Google review
Quiet and beauful. There is one part close to the septic plant, either avoid or get past it and everything else is gorgeous. A variety of ducks and other birds, we saw a small turtle, and walked a long distance with barely feeling it... Calm and serene. If you get dizzy easily, the water parts might affect you, but other parts are stationary.
Peter S — Google review
If you like undisturbed nature and wildlife, you'll love this place. Although it is strangely right next to a water treatment facility, once you walk past it you'll enter into a different world, surrounded by tall trees and reeds, with all sorts of birds calling from every direction. Parking is a bit limited though, but it doesn't seem like a densely popular location so the amount next to the bathrooms seem sufficient.

Pogonip Open Space, located near UC Santa Cruz campus, spans 640 acres and features a diverse landscape of redwood and oak forests, grassy meadows, and slopes. The park is known for its unique attractions such as overgrown stone kilns from the 1800s used to process lime. With approximately eight miles of hiking trails offering scenic views of Santa Cruz and Monterey Bay, Pogonip also has multi-use trails popular with mountain bikers.
Hiked the loop at Pogonip which is an energizing 5 mile hike through redwoods with small brooks and streams, visiting the old clubhouse, lime kilns and of the course visiting the koi point. Breath taking views of the Pacific from the start of the hike. Best hiking location in bay area if you get an opportunity to go.

Beautiful easy nature trail through woods. Very picturesque coupled with open space and woods, path takes by small waterfalls, by stream and crossing over a stream breathing in nature. There are several other trails to branch off . Regular walkers do this 4 mile easy walk with friends and families.
Info S — Google review
Pogonip was good enough, but not amazing. Very nice options for trails, some shady trails, some open space trails, some great views, spotted a deer, and some good exercise, but no trail gets a five star from me unless there is something spectacular to see, like a waterfall - and the Lost Boys House is cool, but not spectacular. Besides, when we left, I found a tick crawling on my neck under my ear lobe and then turned around to find 2 more on my dog. We've been on lots of trails around here, and that's by FAR the most ticks I've found. Yuck.

A local treasure of family friendly trails. Both meadow and forest with lots to explore. Highly recommend the loop trail. Don’t miss the hidden koi pond and rock cairns on another visit. Limited parking, but with multiple trailheads (Spring Street, Golf Course Dr, etc.) you can usually find a spot or just hike or bike in. Beware of the prolific poison oak.
Nanette B — Google review
What a great 7-mile hike! The Emma McCrary trail was easy to moderate. The trail is marked very well. There are no restrooms. The trailhead is located at the end of Golf Club Rd. There are several dirt parking spots at the end, but on a weekend, I would park on the paved road. To get to the Emma Trail, make sure you go to the right of the gate and not through the road gate - look for trail signs. There were a couple of homeless camps the first mile of the trail.

Finally walked one of the trails, it is a beautiful 11 mile area close to the heart of Santa Cruz. The trail we walked was mainly uphill but there are others that are less strenuous. Has mountain bike and horse trails too. The Koi pond is lovely, surrounded by Redwoods in a peaceful setting.

The preserve features a peaceful 2.5-mile round-trip trail designed exclusively for foot traffic, ensuring an undisturbed experience away from the hustle and bustle.
This is a very special spot a bit hidden and off the beaten path with fresh air, twisted trees, and spectacular sunsets. It’s a short easy in and out hike. Just make sure you keep your eyes out for the “cow patties” and don’t forget to pack your picnic basket.

Copied from my review on the Trailhead. A truly beautiful trail. There's several different paths to follow, all leading to multiple different places. You'll go from a small winding trail in an oak forest, onto vast pasture, filled with eating cows and a wonderful view of the Ocean. The only down side is that the parking is poor. The strip of road leading up to the trailhead's entrance is private, not parking allowed on the road. You'll have to park before Western Drive if you want to park legally.

I love this place so much, but there's no where to park. At all really. Besides under bushes sticking out in the middle of the street. I got my mom to come with me once and she brought her dog. He got so many ticks, we all did, but his fur is so thick that we missed one and it was on him for over 24 hours. He developed a limp and we took him to the vet who upon first glance knew he had lymes disease from the deer tick. He was put on antibiotics and can finally run again without the limp. Its so scary. Just be careful please 🙏 😞💕
Korina F — Google review
Moore Creek lies in the buffer zone between the redwoods and the coastal meadows. It's emerald green in the early spring, covered with phlox and poppies later, and gold in the summer. Solitary oaks dot the meadows, and riparian clefts nourish redwoods, fir, and alder...and lots of poison oak. Ancient seashore terraces now take the form of limestone outcroppings painted with lichens. It's free, but parking requires a short walk. I think not wheelchair or handicapped feasible.
Wells S — Google review
a great place to walk with children, there is a train for children, my guys were delighted
Narine T — Google review
A nice isolated place to go on a countryside adventure that's barely outside town. There's basically only one trail (the website says it's 2.5 miles round trip but it's probably closer to 3) but it's a nice one that takes you through a mix of rolling grassy hills with cows and an oak forested ravine with a creek. During the rainy season, the hills are a very appealing green, but there are some mud puddles that take up the entire trail that you have to worry about. Parking at the Highway 1 entrance is limited but possible at a a small turnoff and the views of the bay are very nice

Ocean View Park may be small, but it offers a tranquil and scenic experience. Situated above East Cliff Drive, the park provides stunning views of the San Lorenzo River, the ocean, and the Boardwalk. It's a great spot to relax while your dog enjoys playing in the grass. The park features a playground with slides for kids to have fun. Additionally, visitors can take a leisurely walk along Ocean View Avenue to admire Victorian mansions in the area.
Visited the park recently and it was amazing! Clean restrooms available for convenience, a stunning view that calms the soul, and fantastic slides that kept the kids entertained for hours. Everything felt incredibly safe, allowing the little ones to explore freely. Perfect spot for family outings. Highly recommend!

Nice playground with swings that uses the landscape as an integral part. Walking distance from the boardwalk and the rides. Has public bathrooms and picnic tables.

My kids loved the play structure, down fall is that the long slide only has one working side and there was a lot of dog poop from the dog park. My son ended up stepping in some that spread all over from climbing

Always the best of time here at Ocean View Park! Dogs are welcome. Area for basketball. Restrooms are clean and people are always pleasant. Neighborhood parking. Locals are welcoming. Beautiful views. Clean. Picnicking is a plus here. I love to spend time relaxing here while my son plays. It’s very welcoming.

This hidden neighborhood gem has a beautiful view of the historic Boardwalk and Monterey Bay. Sited adjacent to Jessie Street Marsh, the park wraps around a housing development and offers a giant green belt, a large half basketball court, and a pretty large activity area for kids - complete with overly fast metal slides!

Nestled in the charming westside of Santa Cruz, Sones Cellars is a delightful local winery that embraces a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. This no-frills spot invites well-behaved dogs to join you in their cozy tasting room, where wine snobbery is left at the door. With a focus on Petite Sirah and Zinfandel, visitors can expect an array of wines that are both approachable and intriguing.
I truly enjoy wine tasting here! Their white wines have such a unique profile and they recently added ciders to their menu! While it's true that they don't tell you much about the wine, the conversation is a lot of fun and everyone who comes in to taste there is very sociable. The people who work there are very friendly and happy to talk about anything. I can be somewhat of a wine snob myself, but this is Santa Cruz after all - just kick back and enjoy yourself!
Sara C — Google review
Very personal experience with amazing selection of wine and cider. The building serves both Sones cellars and Tanuki Cider but the owner serving us had great knowledge in both. The owner saw us looking at the menu outside of business hours and invited us in for some Santa Cruz history and delicious tasting. His knowledge and appreciation of cider and wine was superb. It will be a repeat visit when we are in the area and a recommendation for anyone heading this direction.
Luc N — Google review
We did the wine tasting and there was no explanation of the wine, the wines were poured in the same glass without rinsing (mixing red and white) and the pours were so little that it was hard to actually explore the flavors.
Elmar M — Google review
Wonderful place to bring family and your pooch for a lovely evening. Great wine, great host. I'll be back.
Christine P — Google review
Worth a visit. We had a chance to chat with one of the wine makers (husband and wife) and learned a lot about their wine making approach and how diligent and passionate they are. The white blend is unusual and interesting. They have refined it over the years and it now does come out quite well. All wines we had were at least good, several remarkable and reasonably priced. The place is friendly and down to earth.

Cute tasting room! He sources his grapes from lodi, santa cruz and Morgan Hill. The tannat was great and the first time I've ever tried it ! Thanks Michael:)

It's a fun tasting room with very tasty wines! They have a red blend (Hedgehog Red) and a white (Hedgehog White) on a refill basis which change periodically.

Kind, knowledgeable owners. They've got a house blend called Hedgehog, and you can purchase or bring your own bottle to be filled. I adored their white on a hot summer day!

Beach
Seabright Beach, also known as Seabright State Beach, is a spacious sandy shoreline located between the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and Santa Cruz Harbor. It offers picturesque views of the Walton Lighthouse and sailboats. This popular beach is frequented by locals and tourists alike, especially in the evenings when visitors gather around fire pits for bonfires. The beach provides amenities such as lifeguard services during the summer, restrooms, outdoor showers, and maintains a mild temperature.
Seabright Beach is a hidden gem in Santa Cruz, offering a wide stretch of sand and a beautiful sunset view. My family and I have enjoyed picnics and bonfires here, making it a great spot for gatherings. The beach is spacious, allowing for plenty of room to relax without feeling crowded. The nearby lighthouse adds to the charm, and the easy access makes it a convenient stop. While parking can be limited, the walk from nearby streets is manageable. If you're looking for a quieter beach experience, Seabright Beach is a great choice.
Jonathan P — Google review
I loved this beach, is way less crowded if you are coming from San Cruz Boardwalk and is summer, you have to cross a little creek in the beach, so just be careful, my recommendation is go until the light house and have fun =)
Jeff W — Google review
Beautiful beach! Street parking can be hard to find. There is paid parking at the harbor, and a short walk along the jetty to the beach. A short, moderately steep, paved hill. For beachcombers, there is a scattering of beach glass, mostly shell fragments, and driftwood. Dog friendly, on leash. Water is cold but nice to walk along.
Karen T — Google review
Located near the iconic Santa Cruz Pier, this sandy, wide beach features a picturesque lighthouse. The sounds of barking sea lions, chirping birds, and crashing waves create a lively coastal atmosphere. Leashed dogs are welcome, making it a great spot for pet owners. Parking is primarily free street parking, which can be challenging during peak times. We visited early in the morning, enjoying a peaceful stroll while admiring Santa Cruz's charming Victorian and Craftsman homes nearby.
Erin K — Google review
Great beach! We arrived at 830am, found street parking across the main entrance (pic attached), this is where we walked in. There are parking spots, but limited parking. The parking area that gps directed me to has 6 spaces, there a staircase to go to beach. There was another parking area (near E Cliff) that had maybe 8 spaces. If you find street parking, it was your lucky day! This beach has bathrooms (they clean them in the morning), no soap for washing hands though. Dogs on leash are allowed, but we did see some off leash. There are fire ring on the right side of the beach (if you're facing the ocean). But I think people have bonfires all over this beach, there's lots of burnt wood in the sand in most areas. There are three lifeguard stations, but I think only one was being used. It's mid September, maybe during the summer when it's busy there are more lifeguards.
Pam N — Google review
Seabright state beach definitely a staple for Santa Cruz locals. We usually won’t be caught dead at cowells unless for Juneteenth liberation paddle out. Probably one of my favorite beaches in Santa Cruz and was one of the first beaches I brought my daughter. I like how long this beach is and how you can enter by the lighthouse end or by where the film US had a debut scene. When I was young I used to like to park at the end by 4th street and not one will bother you. You can listen to the waves relax or whatever floats your boat. I have seen someone glide off that cliff into the sky once, seen a UFO and watched many of sunsets here.
Katrina J — Google review
This is a world better than the chaotic boardwalk beach. Perfect for families. Great sand and water when the sun is out in summer. And there is a cute lighthouse at the end of the beach. Sorting out the parking is probably the biggest hassle if you visit.
Ashwin N — Google review
This is a good beach to take a walk with a dog. There is some parking spaces on the top of the hill, otherwise the street side parking is available. It is a peaceful beach.

The professional and attentive crew ensures a memorable and enjoyable time on board.
Loved our sunset sail and seeing all the beautiful sailboats last Wednesday night. The wine, beer and pizza were all very good. But it was actually the crew of Captain Todd, Bo and Late that made our experience special. Hope to go again before winter arrives!

Location, parking, check in process was easy. The Captain and crew are well versed and experienced in providing exceptional guest service. Captain sailed the boat very well, engaging with guests. The crew has great balance! And did well in serving a lot of pizza, wine, and beer. The boat is very clean and well maintained. The sailing time at 2 hours is PERFECT! I will recommend Chardonnay to everyone and cannot wait for my next sail!
Madeleine N — Google review
The day was beautiful and the ride was amazing. My wife got wet from the bow of the boat, but the crew handed out blankets which helped a lot. My advice is to dress warm, and be prepared to get wet on occasion. The experience was thrilling as we made turns and the boat almost hit a 45 degree angle to the water. It’s best to hold on and pay attention to the masts but overall it’s a great time. They passed out glasses for a choice of wine or beer and all of the crew was very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this to anyone who has never experienced a sail out on the ocean. There’s nothing like it.

We have nothing but good things to say. Not our first burial at sea cruise on the Chardonnay, but possibly the best. The weather and sea conditions were perfect for us, but beyond that from our first contact with the crew we all relaxed into it. The crew was kind, supportive, and communicated very clearly regarding safety rules. They were wonderful and we want to thank them for helping us make beautiful family memories we can all carry with us. We all share and shared love of this place which has meant so much to us in our lives. It was a beautiful day on the water, and we wouldn't have wanted to sail with anyone else! Thank you

pretty damn expensive but it's got tons of awesome old school games, just tried to come on a weekday because it's pretty insanely crowded with tourists. pretty much all of the machines were working 100%!

Fun time, went around 7pm last night and it wasn’t really crowded. Got easy street parking, usually money goes quick. But last night points actually lasted a while. I loaded $20 and my husband and I were able to play games for a bit. We recharged a few times and ended up staying over an hour. Collected enough points for a big stuffed prize in the shop. We never have enough points for anything in the past.
Kennedy F — Google review
So much fun here! The verity of arcade games is amazing! There’s something for everyone. The only downside is it is a little pricey and we though we had earned a good amount of rewards when it turned out we only had earned 74 🙃 after being there over an hour. Still had a great time! Extra star because they still have the original Tron game!!!
Vanessa R — Google review
Pretty good for kids, but be ready to drop some money. The games are pretty well kept and the card system avoids all the problems of keeping up with tickets, but still rewarding the kids. Like most arcades, it is a bit dark and dirty, but you can see they are trying harder due to the pandemic.

Giant Dipper is an iconic red and white wooden roller coaster that has been a staple of the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk since 1924. It offers breathtaking views of the beach and wharf as you scream at the top of your lungs. The amusement park also features an indoor arcade, souvenir shops, and a beautiful beach for a casual stroll. Many visitors reminisce about their childhood experiences riding on this historic roller coaster, feeling the thrill of its speed and turns.
Crazy ROLLER COASTER! I LOVE THAT its not super fast but doesn’t lack in the thrill! The beauty of this olden roller coaster is unparalleled, absolutely love the excitement and didn’t disappoint, queue was also extremely fast and didn’t need to wait long. What was the best part? The excitement and noise from the previous coasters going before you, making the thrill even more enjoyable!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Iconic, Thrilling, and Nostalgic – A Must-Ride in Santa Cruz! The Giant Dipper at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is an absolute gem. From the moment you step into the historic wooden structure, you’re transported back in time. The ride begins with a dark, suspenseful tunnel that instantly gets your adrenaline pumping—and then, you’re off! The first drop gives you that classic stomach-flipping thrill, followed by a series of twists, turns, and airtime that keeps you grinning all the way through.

What a fun classic roller coaster!! This thing is almost 100 years old, and relatively smooth! There was no back breaking moments, just a couple rickety moments but not painful at all. The coaster had a lot of hills and turns and was very fun to ride.

What a great experience riding a roller coaster that’s over a hundred years old — it still looks and feels amazing. Definitely worth it! Just be ready for long lines if you go on the weekend.
Joe Z — Google review
I'm a big rollercoaster fan, even some of the wildest ones. But I recommend avoiding this one to anyone who has ever had a concussion. My concussion was decades before I rode this rollercoaster. This 1:52 ride brought the same post-concussion sensations back. This is much too jarring for a human brain. Feels like riding a jackhammer. Dangerous. The other roller coaster has all the speed and more fun twists.
TJ M — Google review
Probably one of the most iconic attractions within Santa Cruz, aside from all the natural wonders and beauty of course. If you're ever driving through Santa Cruz, and see a roller coaster on banners, or painting within stores, it is likely the Giant Dipper. It is over 100 years old now, and is still just as fun as ever.

Yeah you gotta get on this old ancient 100 year old wonder. A fun ride that you will feel. Any wooden coaster will be sure to knock you around and you feel everything in the cart! 04/22/2022 Decent size free day use parking lot. No parking 10pm to 6am. Two all gender single restrooms available (flushable toilets) though they aren't very clean. One very cold public shower and there is a spigot next to shower with excellent water pressure if you need to fill gallon water jugs or for pet. Van, pickup truck or car only. Not enough room for large RV's. Beach is across street. There are paths throughout park to exercise or walk your dog.

My favorite beach and walking path in Santa Cruz county. And one of the last free beach parking areas in the whole damn world. Tiny beach, mostly locals, but gorgeous. The eucalyptus forests of the park are beautiful and smell terrific and are home to the Monarch butterflies during migration season. Well worth the visit.

One of our go to walking trails in Santa Cruz. This is a great place to park and have about a 2 mile walk along East Cliff to see the ocean and all the surfers along Pleasure Point. There are public restrooms at this park and picnic tables. The reason I give this park only 3 stars is that there is also a lot of homeless people that spend their days here using the showers and hanging out in the parking lot. It makes it less comfortable sometimes and I wonder if my car is safe here. That said, in over 20 years of coming here I have never had a problem to report, so as long as you lock your car and are here during the day, it seems completely safe.
Paul B — Google review
Love this place for the free parking (when you can get it), the fact it has a rest room (if ever desperate) and how handy for the beach it is. Just walk across the street. Loses one star due to the sometimes sketchy people congregating there. That being said, no one ever bothered or harassed me when there (usually in the evenings). So worth checking out if you're heading to the beach.
Thea N — Google review

Simply one of the best right-hand waves in the world. This area is the birthplace of surfing in the US and also has a very cool small surfing museum. The area has a nice “cold-surfing” vibe, with pines instead of palm trees and the coldest waters I’ve been to in California. There are a lot of seals playing in the water and also many surfers enjoy this beach that comes close to perfection.
Gustavo G — Google review
One of the most historic and popular sports in Santa Cruz. The lighthouse beacon light serves as warning to sailers and a museum honoring surfing and surfers. There’s a large lawn for activities, a restroom close by and terrific views of the Wharf and The Boardwalk. If you care to stroll the pathways take you for miles in several directions. It’s a beautiful leisure walk. The weather in this area can change so bring a hoodie, preferably a Sana Cruz red dot. Parking is free along the roadway.
Chalipo K — Google review
This is a very nice historic spot to go to. It has a small lighthouse. I heard that people can go inside of its museum, but I don’t think they’re open now. Also I think that you need to pay for an admission to go inside. I thought that the lighthouse might be slightly bigger than what I actually saw online but that’s alright.

Fantastic point break. You want big waves though. Beautiful coastline. Must see!! It gets busy. Surfers should wait for high tide for foot safety. Plus jumping off the cliff is an iconic dream. The views are breathtaking and the land and sea life is super abundant.

Amusement park ride
The Looff Carousel, a cherished local gem and National Historic Landmark, has been delighting visitors since 1911. Crafted by Charles Looff, the mastermind behind the Coney Island carousel, this wooden marvel is one of the few carousels worldwide with a functioning ring dispenser. The nostalgic experience includes tossing rings into a clown's mouth for a chance to win. As you approach, the restored Wurlitzer organs fill the air with lively tunes while riders enjoy the ocean backdrop.
My favorite ride at the Boardwalk, been here many times, and it never gets old! The ring toss game they offer is why people come and ride this! It is an instant classic in Santa Cruz as well as a must-try. I almost hit the clown’s mouth with the ring a couple times which is a good thing though!
Gabe C — Google review
A timeless treasure at the Boardwalk! The Looff Carousel at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is pure magic. It’s beautifully maintained and full of charm, with hand-carved horses that bring out the kid in everyone. You'll love the old-fashioned ring toss game—it adds such a fun and nostalgic touch. Organ music gives the whole ride an authentic vintage feel. Whether you're visiting with kids or just revisiting childhood memories, this classic carousel is a must-experience. It's one of those simple joys that makes the Boardwalk so special. Don’t miss it!
Scott S — Google review
You can feel the rich history in the soul of the Carousel as you approach. The brilliantly restored, fully automated and functional Wurlitzer organs play their distinct, festive multi-instrument tunes over the laughs and screams of the happily terrified amusement riders and the ocassional, faint crashing of the Monterey Bay Pacific Ocean waves in the background. Take in the music, the sounds, the smells of sweet foods permeating the ocean air during the 15 minutes or 20 minutes you wait your turn for a couple minutes of immersion in the ambiance of a special day a hundred years ago. Examine the detail of the elaborately painted and impeccably restored carousel horses, Wurlitzers, and the tier-domed structure overhead. And decide which of the creatures, in motion or stationary, you'll race to when you finely pass the gate. When you grasp the spiral brass pole that supports your galiant, colourful creature and climb up onto a straddle, you'll get a perspective and gain a memory shared with fortunate others over the past 100 and more years. And when the bell rings and the Carousel slowly begins turning and the horses begin their slow, undulating trot, visualize those of the past who came by carriage, by model T, by Studebaker, by Pinto, or by wood-paneled station wagon over the decades, dressed in the garb of their era with the ones they loved... to do the very same thing for the very same reason as you are now. Reach out carefully to snag a metal ring from the chute and have a go at flinging it into the hole in the curtain that is the clowns mouth. It's harder than it looks. Look up and down and take a gander at mechanics of this entertaining marvel. It's truly a work of engineering and mechanical art. After about a half dozen revolutions, you can't help but feel that exciting disappointment as the the horses slow their pace and the the huge, turning platform gradually conforms to the motionless concrete floor below it. In your youthful enthusiasm and smiles and photos and conversation exiting the ride, try to remember to walk the perimeter of the Carousel gate and read the placards that accompany the majestic and whimsical mechanical and musical objects around you. The stories are fascinating and the work to bring them to us for entertainment and appreciation is passionate and exhaustive. And now it's time for a corn dog, an ice cream, a cotton candy, or maybe a beer, then decide if next you'll go toward the arcade, the other direction to more rides, or take a break with a walk on the sand...
Six O — Google review
This beautiful wood carved carousel was created by Charles Looff, renowned for being the Creator of the Coney Island carousel. The one here in Santa Cruz came after and was installed in August of 1911. It's one of the only remaining carousels in the world that still has a working ring dispenser. In the old days, if you got the "brass ring" you won a free ride. These days, the rings are steel and you "win" by tossing the ring into a clowns mouth. Many people keep the rings so the Boardwalk buys 60,000 each year to keep the carousel in supply! For special events, they still occasionally add brass rings to the dispenser. Make sure you also check out the antique organs that take turns providing the music

This is a must ride carousel - one of the few remaining merry-go-rounds in the country with a functioning brass ring dispenser! The other one in California is at San Diego's Balboa Park but this one in Santa Cruz is in better condition. The target is the mouth of a freaky clown 🤡.
Larry S — Google review
The Looff Carousel is amazingly well maintained and an historic work of art. The Ruth & Sohn band organ is magnificent. Too bad they keep the organ muffled in a box to meet contemporary sound level codes. I really enjoyed it much more when the organ blared at its full volume! I've still got an old brass ring on my keychain (that I "borrowed" many years ago)
Matt G — Google review
This is a well-maintained classical merry-go-round. Sit on the outside horses as you can pull rings from a dispenser and attempt to throw it into the clown's mouth to make the eyes light up, etc etc. It's great for when you're travelling with kids or the elderly as it's low impact and gives everyone a little break.

The Smiley Orca Face Painting Booth offers fast and high-quality face painting and henna designs by award-winning artists. Located near the Giant Dipper exit and Cliff Hanger, the talented and friendly artists are known for their extensive book of designs. They are open to customizing designs based on customers' preferences, taking time to chat with them to understand their personality before creating a matching design.
SmileyOrca Face Painting and Henna artists are super talented and friendly. Even though they have an extensive book of Face Painting AND Henna designs, I tend to be the customer that says, "I like this design but with these colors...is that possible?" and they always say "Sure!" Sometimes I leave it up to the artist to paint whatever and it's neat because they take time chat with me and figure out my personality to find a design that matches me. It's a great service that adds color and sparkle to your day! 🎨✨🌈

We hired smiley orca for our company celebration on Halloween, our theme was Dia de Los muertos I was in charge of event and didn’t know where to start to find a last minute face painter , I was referred to smiley orca and was hoping that they were good, since our theme required much detail I emailed and Lisa promptly returned with reply . The day of the event Lisa showed up early and I was the first to get my face painted I just gave her a brief description of what I wanted and she used her wonderful hand to do her thing when she showed me my face I was very impressed since I’m so picky and once the other staff saw they were anxious to get their faces done overall Lisa did a fabulous Job and I would highly recommend her she is reasonable and precise. Once again I’m glad we chose smiley orca for our event .

I cannot rave about the Smiley Orca family/employees enough! Not only are they insanely talented with both their face painting and henna skills, they are also incredibly nice and professional. They have very high standards, and only use the best products (especially their Henna, which looks and SMELLS great)! My daughters never miss an opportunity to stop at their booth at the Boardwalk, fair, or street festival.

My daughter has been getting her face painted by Smiley Orca Face Painting since she was a year old and she is now 9. We always look forward to their booth at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and the Monterey County Fair. The entire staff is friendly and extremely talented. My daughter has sensitive skin and we have never had an issue with the products used my Smiley Orca Face Painting. I would highly recommend visiting their booth.

What a fun experience! Lisa came to our home and painted my face beautifully for a Halloween party. About 30 minutes from start to finish with lovely chatting all along. A beautiful job. Thanks Smiley Orca!
Cynthia Q — Google review
My kid was painted by a member of the smiley orca team and the face painting was OK. Definitely not the best I have seen. I was very upset to find out, however, that while smiley orca is often making $150 per hour for face painting, they are paying their painters as little as $10 per hour! That is deplorable! I would highly recommend another company that both charges less and pays their face painters more fairly.

Went to the boardwalk today and excitedly walked up to get my face painted. There were about 6 girls just sitting there talking amongst each other. A minute or so passed by before I had to start the conversation vs. one of the 6 of them asking if they could help. Regardless, I smiled and asked if they could provide a face painting for a "big girl" as I am quickly approaching 30. None of them were amused by this and the short blonde in the front said, with less than an enthusiastic "sure....". I then asked, due to my nerdy self, and it being July 31st, Harry Potter's birthday, if I could get a outline of his glasses and a lightening bolt. The young blonde rudely responded saying no, she could only do what was in the book, when I have gotten this very same face painting, many times before. She told me if I got it in the past, that someone broke the rules and she liked to follow the rules, with a smirky tone and facial expression to match. This was ridiculous to me, to say the least, and I really didn't appreciate her tone one bit. You'd think someone who face painted for a living would have an ounce of kindness in her. I wish I got her name so I could personally thank her for her lack of hospitality and disposition. Maybe next time.

Smiley employees and Smiley customers! Whether booking a private event or visiting their henna/face painting booths on the boardwalk i'm always pleased the the quality or their work and friendly helpful demeanor or their artists!

Laser tag center
Laser Tag at the Boardwalk offers an exciting experience in a 3,500 square foot arena located inside the Casino Arcade. Players can form teams or join individually to navigate through obstacles and tag opponents under black lights. The high traffic at the boardwalk attracts many inexperienced players, providing ample opportunities for enjoyable games with full participation.
I'm shocked this doesn't have many reviews. For context, I've been to over 10 laser tag arenas across North America and have won every match every time I've played. This laser tag spot is pretty good for a few reasons - you get high traffic at the boardwalk, so there are plenty of inexperienced players (sitting ducks) who want to play these games. You could play for hours in a row in full games, all packed with people who aren't very experienced. The laser tag arena is a little bit small, so if there are a lot of people it can get pretty hectic in there. All-in-all, it's a fun spot though.

When you find yourself at the beach in Santa Cruz, you're not just stepping onto golden sands; you're entering a vibrant world of fun and flavor. The Boardwalk is a treasure trove for dessert lovers, offering delightful treats like airy Cotton Candy Clouds that evoke childhood memories and irresistible Funnel Cakes drizzled with powdered sugar and topped with strawberries or ice cream. But the beach isn't just about sweet indulgences—it's also renowned as California's surfing hotspot!
Y would anyone go to the beach I don't like people who go to the beach.

Park
DeLaveaga Park, originally owned by Jose Vicente DeLaveaga, offers a variety of outdoor activities such as archery, hiking, and cycling. The park features five trails catering to dogs, mountain bikers, and joggers. One popular trail is the Branciforte Creek trail which provides a scenic view of the golf course. Additionally, there's an enclosed dog park near the entrance. The park also boasts designated picnic and barbecue areas near its recreational area.
We went to check this park out today and was very happily surprised. The park is absolutely stunning and well maintained and there is beautiful areas for kids, adults and dogs. This will be a common spot to visit forsure. The trails are also lovely and not too intensive.

Two fields, well kept and regularly used. This park is nestled in the beautiful woods, has plenty of parking, a picnic area and playground. I met my husband playing ball on this field, then I married him on this field.
Rachael — Google review
Loved this park, I entered from a side trail due to the park being closed because of COVID-19. The benches were plentiful and lots of places to cook outside. There was also a great Frisbee course, but we didn't play on it. The surrounding trails were lush with a banana slug sighting. All in all, it is a must adventure places for kids or adults.

A surreal disc golf experience. From wide open fields to a basket, to long tree tunnels, or up with dog legs, this is really a location that will stay with you once you have played here. 27 holes with a number of options of layouts, and the world's first signature top of the world. This is a definite bucket list course.
Brett C — Google review
I was at DeLaveaga park to see a Shakespeare play that was being held at the theater area inside. I have also seen the surrounding area and it seems like a great place for community activities and events. It also just has amazing scenery in the area with nice smelling Eucalyptus trees in the park with plenty of greenery.
Finn M — Google review
A beautiful spot in Santa Cruz for so many activities… I love to play golf on this very nice and challenging course and I have walked my dogs along the many trails that run all along the hills and ridges. There are baseball fields and playgrounds, large group picnic areas. And even a very nice disk golf course. I have been told that the mountain bike trails are also world class.
Paul B — Google review
Had a blast playing the disc golf course with some friends, definitely get a view of the wonderful scenery especially on a nice warm sunny day. I definitely recommend checking out this place if you're in the area, even for a hike or hitting the bike trails.

Casino
Oceanview Casino is a friendly and inviting spot for poker enthusiasts. The atmosphere is filled with energy, making it an exciting place to play. On Thursdays, they offer hi/lo Omaha action, providing the perfect opportunity to test your luck at the tables. The staff are welcoming and create a homely environment for both regulars and newcomers. It's a great place to join in on tournaments or simply enjoy some casual games with friends.
People were really laid back very welcoming. As any poker game I was hanging on to my seat. Room definitely needs some upgrading.. looks like an old used carpet building if you will. But it didn't smell. I live about 3 hours away. But I would definitely take the drive just to go back there. Like I said if not for the welcoming people I don't think I would have stayed as long as I did. If anyone reads this that was there thank you for being so sweet to my mom and I. We hope to see you guys soon.

it's a cute card room. although they took me to the cleaners on my last visit. I'll be back.

Absolutely , without even anyone even in the same realm, THE WORST card room is n the entire state. I’ve been to at least 50, cannot believe this place is even allowed To be open. Place opens at 3 pm, game starts at 5pm. Shilled together with employees and randoms. First big pot a player wins, they cash out and break the game. This room is run by clowns, for clowns. Dope fiends sleep right outside the front door. Unreal.
KEVIN C — Google review
Great friendly little place, came to watch a tournament and ended up walking away with a nice little stack afterwards (beginners luck). Would highly recommend sliding through after a tournament: lots of regulars and the ego energy was flowing, great environment for a newcomer. The manager on the floor was very friendly and went out of his way to make me feel welcome. I'll be back when I need a quick buck(;
Warren S — Google review
What can I say about my favorite place in town. I have been coming here for a long time and I love it and the staff you feel welcomed and at home in this spot. Even though I moved away when I come back I make sure to always stop in and spend the night playing cards.
