Reptile Gardens is a long-standing zoo located on Highway 16, offering an extensive range of reptile exhibits, bird shows, and even a greenhouse. It holds the title of the world's largest reptile zoo according to the Guinness Book of World Records. Visitors can get up close with various reptiles while feeling safe as the venomous ones are securely contained.
Absolutely amazing experience. Lots of fun things to do here. The staff are really friendly. The shows are put on very well and the girls love the excitement! Our favorite exhibit was the Koi fish and the giant turtles, the lady who was running the turtle exhibit, was super knowledgeable and told us all about them and about how most of their turtles are rescues, and how they take care of them. They have so many crazy snakes You could literally go through fifteen times and still learn something new. Overall all 10/10 would do again!

Reptile Gardens was such an amazing experience for the whole family! The huge gift shop was fun to explore, and the dome is incredible — absolutely filled with fascinating creatures and so well done. We loved how interactive everything was. Getting to pet the giant tortoises was such a highlight, and the snake and crocodile shows were both really entertaining and educational. They even let you touch a snake and a crocodile after each show, which was awesome! There’s also a themed playground for the kids that fit perfectly with the park. Overall, it was a fantastic visit — definitely recommend stopping here if you’re in the area!
Kristen W — Google review
We loved it! They do a snake and gator show 5 times a day throughout the day. The shows are entertaining and educational. The brothers Joe and Dane were humorous through their shows and are amazing, they show they enjoy what they do. Once theyre done with their shows they let you pet the animals. Theres a dome to keep the birds they have (we only spotted 3) from flying out while people walk around. They also have a HUGE crocodile "Manic, giant crocodile." Pictures do not do it justice. A little play area and sand box for kids to let them run around on (next to where they do the snake show). And the Tortuises would have to be our favorite. They have 1 that is 120 years old and its just really cool that you can walk near them and pet them as they eat. They have military discount and an amazing gift shop with such friendly staff.

Amazing experience!!! You cannot miss the Reptile Gardens when you visit SD! We had so much fun! The gardens are absolutely BEAUTIFUL and the jungle in the dome is breathtaking! The snake and alligator shows were fascinating and Joey was GREAT! The kiddos got to touch a boa constrictor and a baby alligator and the giant tortoises:) They really do have the largest selection of venomous snakes and it was fun trying to spot the little lizards in the dome jungle:) We had fun taking pics at the old western town area and enjoyed some delicious lunch and ice cream:) Loved the gift shop, too! And all the staff were so nice:) A special "thank you" to Lillee;) We would definitely recommend seeing the Reptile Gardens!!!
Charles B — Google review
My children loved observing the crocodile show and being able to pet the baby crocodile. The tortoise were absolutely beautiful. I felt so bad for the birds that were tied up though. I don’t think I could visit again because it broke my heart to know they couldn’t move very much at all. The place makes enough money with how much they charge they could absolutely give them birds their own cages and not have them tied up for show.
Mckenzie R — Google review
We've been several times and nothing has really changed! Great collection of reptiles/amphibians. We enjoy the dome and the gator and snake shows- be sure to see those! We had burgers at the cafe which were pretty decent as well, pricey but good portion. Grounds, bathrooms and other areas are always clean and welcoming!
Wyndi W — Google review
This was our second time here, the first was back in 2019. We had a great time both visits. The alligator and snake shows are entertaining, and the large tortoises you can interact with are really neat. The collection of snakes is amazing as well, I believe it's the largest I've ever personally seen. We didn't eat much but we did spring for the WI cheese curds, and being from WI we weren't expecting to be impressed, but they were darn good and you get a fair amount.
Kris C — Google review
we had a really great experience here! We arrived shortly before 8am when they opened and the parking lot was empty. We were able to park our 45ft camper along the back edge of the lot and there were also dedicated spots for other trailers which I appreciated. Off the bat, the lady at the entrance was very friendly. My daughter scraped her knee outside and she offered us a bandaid from her first aid kit and gave my kiddos a couple pencils which helped cheer the injured one up. The worker in the dome was very interactive and found us whenever she spotted another reptile in the dome to show our kids. We also stayed and watched the snake show and some of the gator show and it was very entertaining. The food was also good! So happy we stumbled across this place! Well worth the money and time spent.

Storybook Island is a charming park featuring playground attractions inspired by characters and locations from beloved children's books. Spanning 8.5 acres, the park hosts over 100 playsets, including iconic figures such as Cinderella, the Cat in the Hat, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Winnie the Pooh's treehouse, and more.
This was such a nice add to our trip! And best of all it’s free!! My kids 8 and 6 loved it, thank you!! If you want to ride the train it’s $2 and the carousel is $3 each ride.
Courtney R — Google review
I absolutely adored Storybook Island — it was a dream come true for my kids! From the moment you arrive, the atmosphere feels straight out of a storybook. You walk through castle gates over a charming drawbridge, passing a sparkling pond with ducks, whimsical water features, and playful pretend animals. Rapunzel hangs her golden hair from the castle tower, with a prince climbing up to meet her — such a magical and enchanting welcome! There is so much space for kids to run and play among adorable storybook-themed displays. The train ride was a highlight, and at just $3 per rider, it was very reasonable, especially since admission to the park is free. The beautiful carousel inside a covered pavilion felt absolutely precious, and the friendly staff helped the kids hop on their horses with care. Disney-style storybook music plays throughout the park, adding to the fairytale wonder. We loved the playful drinking fountains shaped like a lion and a hippopotamus, the pirate ship with its little pond and bridge, and the playground for kids 5 and under — all clean, safe, and spread out beautifully. Shady trees and plenty of benches made it easy to relax and take it all in. Each bench had a placard honoring its donor, and there were beautiful engraved stones along the pathways with names of people who contributed — a lovely reminder that the park is funded through donations and community generosity. Storybook Island is operated by the Rotary Club of Rapid City and welcomes donations to help keep the magic going. There’s also a cute little gift shop packed with tempting souvenirs, and an ice cream shop on site that wasn’t open yet when we arrived but probably operates later in the day. Overall, Storybook Island is pure childhood magic brought to life — whimsical, charming, and absolutely worth a visit. Highly recommend!

I loved this place so much! It is a must see if you are in the Rapids City area and have kids. It is set up very nicely, well maintained and free. My kids were not the only ones that had fun; I thoroughly enjoyed myself! I only have a few suggestions: An Alice in Wonderland piece would have been neat to see, and a bigger magnet selection in the gift shop (I love magnets!). Visit.Have Fun.Donate!
Emily A — Google review
My kids love this park anytime we are in the area. It has so many fun scenes to interact with your favorite story book characters. The children of all ages enjoyed exploring and interacting with the scenes. For a small fee of $3 you can ride the train or carousel 🎠. Entrance to the park is free. No pets inside the gate. Ample parking and even a rv/bus strip for us out of towners
Julie E — Google review
Lovely park themed in classic childhood comic characters. The park doesn’t have an entrance and is so cool to just walk through. Really special place for Rapid City.
Kevin W — Google review
I have two little kids under 5 and they really enjoyed it here. My husband and I did too! The park was very pretty! Kids loved the carousel, the train, and the park near the middle! We will be back!
Jessica M — Google review
Cute family friendly place. They remodeled some stuff and removed some beloved characters from when I visited as a kid but overall it was nice . Cheap ticket rides for the carousel and train.
Gwen W — Google review
This one is way better than the Aberdeen one. Well maintained, we kept up. And bonus it is free!!! If you need budget friendly day this is the place!

The South Dakota Air and Space Museum is a must-visit for aviation enthusiasts and families with kids. Situated near Rapid City, this free museum showcases an extensive collection of aircraft, artifacts, and documents that chronicle the rich history of Ellsworth Air Force Base during the Cold War era.
This is an excellent free outdoor display that every aviation enthusiast passing through should plan at least 1-2 hours to visit. Some of the aircraft have seen better days and I wish they were a little better maintained, but again, it's a free museum and a great little gem of the Black Hills.
David B — Google review
The South Dakota Air and Space Museum outside of Ellsworth Air Force Base has a number of great aircraft on display outside and interior displays focusing on equipment, base history, military history, and space and satellites. There is no charge to enter the museum. The parking lot is large and will accommodate a few RVs and trailers.
Dawn J — Google review
We are lucky to have such a great museum in the state. I can reminded this to anyone passing through. When we stopped it was a free-will donation to the museum. Lots to look at in a small area.
Anthony — Google review
Amazing museum of military aircraft. You can walk up and get a close look and even touch the planes. This is a wonderful place to for a family on a budget traveling cross country with energetic kids. It is free -- your tax dollars at work! Thanks to all who have served in the US armed forces!
Jake M — Google review
This is a great museum to tour both inside and outside if you don’t want to go in the museum, there’s still plenty to see on the outside as well. Parking is no problem even with a big rig RV. If you love military aircraft, this is a must see!
Mark 7 — Google review
Excellent museum outside exhibit was well organized and information provided at each presentation was very interesting. Also the inside exhibits spanned a significant period in time. There were 2 working flight simulators with volunteers at the ready to help guests enjoy the experience. The museum is highly recommended if you are in the Rapid City area. Lastly, if you want a good meal before or after your visit check out Kang San a Korean/Japanese restaurant just a few hundred yards away. Excellent food and service!
Allen H — Google review
GREAT selection of birds, collection of military equipment throughout the years & even a neat engine cutaway. A great tribute & explanation of POWs as well. Would have liked to see more missiles - more info on these and their souvenir shop could use more items. Great prices and they even had a challenge coin, but would have liked a shirt, some hats or postcards from this neat find.
Mata F — Google review
I absolutely loved it. Its especially great being able to walk under and around aircraft. It is a very up close and personal experience. Personally I would have liked to have been charged something like $10 for entry and have some of the aircraft a little better maintained. Also the flight simulator was inoperative and the kids were really looking forward to that. They do have a cash donation bucket but I did not find an ATM. I would guess that many of us would be happy to pay a small admission. Thats my only advice. Otherwise I really loved it.

The Journey Museum in Rapid City offers an enriching experience for families, providing insights into the geological and archaeological history of the Black Hills. Visitors can explore exhibits on Sioux Indian culture and early Black Hills history. The museum also houses a diverse collection of Native American art, including traditional and contemporary Sioux artworks such as beadwork, quillwork, metalworking, and ceremonial regalia. Additionally, temporary exhibitions featuring modern American Indian artists add variety to each visit.
We primarily stuck to the museum itself, rather than the cafe or gift shop. Even with a tight schedule, this was a nice stop. It is always great heading to cultural museums that shed light on the history of the area you are visiting. I would definitely swing in here, because it is educational and has activities for kids, as well.
Charles H — Google review
Such a great museum for families and kids! Each exhibit had interactive and relevant activities for kids as well as an immersive experience! The museum shared multiple viewpoint of SD history making this museum great for all ages! A perfect rainy day escape for any visitors
Heidi G — Google review
I was in the area with time to spend and after some research, decided to check this place out with my preschooler. We went on a Friday afternoon and nearly had the place to ourselves! We had a BLAST in the archeology dino digs- looking at fossils and playing in the super fine sand table were my preschooler's favorite. The STEAM corner was somewhat small, but with no other kids present, we had so much fun checking out the plasma ball and the giant microscope. My preschooler thought it was the BEST launching the parachute up the wind tube and racing to see who could catch them as they fell down! Although most weren't my toddler's speed, the curation of artifacts from early Americans was absolutely beautiful. The amount of native beadwork and garb as well as pioneer regalia was really impressive and well displayed. The frequent nooks for kid activities were well thought out and very engaging. We spent nearly 2 and a half hours here and enjoyed every moment. The only point of potential improvement would be that the bathrooms while marked as handicap, are not fully handicap accessible. Although we are not ourselves handicapped, we do work closely with those that are and noticed some things weren't quite up to our hopeful expectations. The sinks, soap, and paper towel were all too high and while you could maneuver a mobility aid in, it could be challenging to close the door due to the inward swung hinges. Aside from the room for improvement in the bathrooms, this place was a 10 out of 10 for us and my preschooler has already asked when we'll be back. If you're in the area, this is a place worth checking out.
E L — Google review
Was not expecting so many kid-friendly activities! They have stations throughout the museum for kids to stop and play/learn. Very interactive. The worker was running around resetting all the stations so each group could enjoy the activities too! Our little one is only 1 1/2 and she loved it!
Kaelyn R — Google review
Military discount with valid ID for entry ticket. Started our tour with the 20 minute video. Loved all of the exhibits; very detailed. Will be back as your receipt gets you in for free within the week of first purchase. Gift shop was nice. Got 2 gifts for under $10.00. Highly educational and a great field trip for homeschooling families.
Ashley A — Google review
We were genuinely impressed (and grateful) for the lovey rooms the Journey Museum provided Sea Reach Ltd to conduct three days of interviewing. Sea Reach Ltd is an exhibit design firm from Portland, Oregon. Under contract to the US Forest Service to tell Indigenous history, we flew in to Rapid City to interview Lakota, Dakota, and Nakota people. The smaller conference room was perfect for the film crew to set up equipment. It was quiet and easy to control the light levels. The larger room was perfect for greeting the interviewees—bright with sunlight, large windows, and space for guests to cluster, share stories, and enjoy a refreshment. Museum staff were gracious in accommodating a our needs, including a late interview where staff had to wait for us to finish, rearranging a room to make space for the camera crew, and setting out coffee, tea, and water each morning.
Susan J — Google review
Firstly, the museum has an eye-catching building design. There was a wealth of good information in this museum, and we didn't plan enough time to see everything. Really appreciated the Native American history and culture that was incorporated into the exhibits.

This is a fun place to go with toddlers and kids! There are tons of fun things for littles to play with. It also has good information for adults, and a nice gift shop. The cost for a year long membership is very reasonable. I got a membership for 40 dollars, which covers me and my baby under 5

Art Alley, situated between 6th and 7th Streets in downtown Rapid City, is a vibrant back alley adorned with striking graffiti-style murals and writings. This urban gem offers a unique insight into local culture and interests, allowing aspiring artists to obtain permits to create their own masterpieces on approved buildings. The ever-changing street art adds to the area's charm, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic urban experience in Rapid City.
Wow! Seeing all of the art in person was amazing! 😍 It was just a short walk from the parking lot a block away. People apparently live back here, but I'd say its fairly safe.
Ann R — Google review
Some nicely done but mostly just graffiti. They even paint the trash bins. The bins were in the way of some of the nicer ones. Easy to find.
Anne P — Google review
This is a quirky art installation in a one block alleyway in downtown Rapid City. My wife happened upon it in some travel literature, so we drove down to check it out. Easy parking on downtown streets, then an easy walk up and down the alley. Art is by permit only and runs the gamut. A fun few minutes if you are near downtown Rapid City
Gregory S — Google review
Truly some beautiful works of art lining the alley. There are a couple that take up entire walls by themselves and some so small you have to be a foot away to see. Could do with more illustrative type graffiti and less tagging graffiti but even some of the tags are pretty cool.
FoxAndMonk — Google review
I honestly thought it would be a bit bigger but it’s still a fun little walk with some cool artwork and I can never hate on that.
Bernard J — Google review
Located in downtown Rapid City, between 6th and 7th and Main and St. Joseph. Art alley consists of dumpsters, utility meters and the backs of the buildings on both sides covered in street Art and graffiti. This unique area was established in 2003, giving artists the freedom to express personal and political views through art. Its an outdoor gallery of a wide variety of styles and subject matter. Although some people are put off by the initial view of the alley, keep in mind, it is an alley that runs behind fully functioning businesses on both sides. The dumpters and utility meters are being utilized, but have been incorporated into the public art space. Permits must be obtained and certain rules do apply for artists to create here, but, the Permits are free and are fairly easy to obtain. This ensures a constant change to the Art on display. I make a point to stroll Art alley every single time I am in the area. It truly is a work of art!

The Museum of Geology features mounted skeletons, rare fossils, and exhibits on geology. The museum has a great atmosphere and is a fun place to learn about the science of geology.
Incredible experience, one of my personal favorite museums that I've been too. It had a welcoming and interesting atmosphere right as you walked in, and it only gets better from there. The exhibits are excellently procured and incredible cool to look at. Before going here I didn't even know there were that many kinds of rocks. I wasn't expecting to see dinosaurs in a rock museum, but in another way they surprised me. This is a 10/10 museum. They even have a little vending machine in the basement if you really get hungry.
Kale — Google review
No longer free as of January 2025 (now $10 for adults 16+, $8 for seniors 60+ and military, $5 for kids 6-15, free for kids 5 and under), but still worth the price of admission if you like this sort of thing.

This was a pleasant little surprise in Rapid City. I was very impressed at this quaint little museum, filled with beautiful gems, stones, minerals, fossils, & dinosaur bones. I took way too many photos of all the beautiful rocks. If you are a rock hound like me, definitely take a couple hours out of your day and go see it. A very well spent 10 bucks... WORTH IT!!!
Andrea B — Google review
With a military ID I got in with $8. If you’re interested in fossils, rocks, etc. then this place is for you! The displays were all highly informative and clever. The museum is small, but worth visiting.
Alex K — Google review
Amazing! The educational cubicles presented the uniguness of each type. I learned some surprising facts about each type. The dinosaurs were a plus. The Mammoth was posittioned at the proper height with the giantic tusks attached. A must see.

Small but mighty! Impressive collection of rocks and bones from SD and around. It's a great place to spend an hour or two :) of note, check the website if there's construction, parking is in a different lot. There are adorably helpful footprints from the lot directing you to the museum. Highly recommend!

I have always loved Dinosaurs, these displays are one of a kind and very well presented. Minerals and other really cool stuff are displayed here. They now charge admitance but it is a full year pass for a very reasonable rate. Totally worth my $10.00.

Dinosaur Park, located in Rapid City, South Dakota, is a 20-acre park featuring life-sized concrete dinosaur figures from the 1930s. Perched on a hill with panoramic views of the Black Hills, this iconic landmark offers visitors an interactive glimpse into the world of dinosaurs. The famous Brontosaurus statue can be seen from miles away and visitors can explore the park's gift shop. Additionally, nearby Skyline Drive Wilderness Area provides hiking trails with stunning city views.
I love this kitschy local park because it brings out the inner child in all. This a free park that guides you to an overlook of Rapid City with fun statues of various dinosaurs and educational kiosks at each species. Recently updated with a handicap accessible path, beautiful metal handrails, & additional informative signs along the walk explaining the start of the park, a popular tourist spot. The gift shop has snacks and fun trinkets for kids and adults alike. Great photo opportunity & rest stop for all. Limited parking but easily accessible. Trail map kiosk also found here.
Susan S — Google review
Cool place for some dinosaur history and knowledge. My daughter would have loved it as a child, she might even loved it still. Super kid friendly with a ramp and stairs to access all the displays and it has a dirt hiking trail around the area as well. Visitor center is typical visitor center at places like this, all the typical souvenir and maps and magnets and things like that. Although they do serve some hot dogs and sodas if you're hungry. I was only here for about 20 minutes or so. Doesn't really take long if you're just walking around but if you have kids then you could be here for an hour or so. Overall fairly decent place to take the kids to check out some dinosaur history not to mention it's free.

Not exactly what we imagined or had in mind, but still a fun, fascinating experience:) We were thinking it was more of a playground with big dinosaur sculptures the kids could climb on. While not a playground, there are HUGE dinosaurs, which are pretty cool, and there were a few small enough for the kids to climb on:) It's a nice little walk with a spectacular view of Rapid City. Cute little gift shop with ice cream, too:)
Charles B — Google review
Easy drive, plentry of parking, Great place that overlooks Rapid City, beautiful views. Kids had a blast looking at Dinosaurs, parents felt safe with toddlers because of the railings having decorative barriers preventing them from going through and rolling down the hills. Nice place to take pictures, I didnt get a picture of the Wooden Bridge but I thought was awesome.

I haven’t been to any other city with massive dinosaurs soaring over the town. Definitely a unique and worthwhile experience. Kids and adults alike can enjoy the park and views!

Free entrance, five minutes drive up the skyline from downtown for 360• view of Rapid City. Visitor centre with food and deck in the back. Accessible for all ages, there’s stairs and paved ramp to make it an easy trek up. Informative plaques, makes for a great pit stop.
Lisa C — Google review
The park was cute, and it has a GREAT view of the city! Fun for some pictures with kids. I will say, if you have mobility issues, it's not very accessible. Which is unfortunate. The path to get up to the top is kind of steep in places and far out of the way. And there are some that just aren't reachable with wheels, or if you're unable to do stairs.
Bailey R — Google review
A group of us hiked up at night. The paths are well lit and are paved. We had beaviews of the city at the top. If you have children, keep in mind there are a lot of concrete stairs. Some elbow and knee pads might not be a bad idea. The visitor center was closed when we went.

Nestled at the base of the picturesque Black Hills, Chapel In the Hills is a serene Lutheran church that beautifully captures the essence of Scandinavian architecture. Built in 1969 as a replica of Norway's Borgund Stave Church, this wooden marvel showcases steep gables and intricate craftsmanship that will leave you in awe. It serves as a tranquil retreat for visitors seeking solace from their hectic lives, inviting both locals and travelers to experience its peaceful ambiance.
This church is one of those hidden gems that you'd never just stumble upon. An exact replica of a Norwegian kirke built in the 1100's, it is a beautiful wooden work of art in addition to being a house of worship. An audio tape orients you to the church and grounds, which you can explore at your leisure. The gift shop and small museum are worth a look. There are also two short paths to walk near the church. Enjoy the quiet stillness of this magnificent little church in the hills near Rapid City.
Gregory S — Google review
This was a really fantastic place to visit, and I recommend going if you are in the area. The big church chapel is apparently a replica of a Norwegian chapel. It was very beautiful to visit and look at. There is also a mini museum not far from the chapel and a really cool gift shop with Norwegian books and wooden nativities. I bought one of the nativities, as I learned someone had carved them and made them on their own. I do feel the history could be better explained. I just wish there was more of a tour that explained the history in depth. There is an audio tour in the chapel and signs that explain the history, but it would be nice to have a guide to explain all the pieces of the puzzles in the place. We didn't have a long time here, nor could you spend a long time here, but I would definitely recommend seeing this and asking about the history because not all the questions and sites are fully explained.

Super cool Norwegian-style, wooden church The chapel is open to public to walk through. While it’s not large, it’s upper cool to see all the design and though that went into this.

Chapel in the Hills is an absolutely beautiful and peaceful place to visit. The rich history of the chapel is fascinating, and the audio narration they offer is well worth listening to — it really helps you appreciate the story behind it all. The prayer walk is amazing and so thoughtfully designed, providing a quiet and reflective space surrounded by nature. They even have a scavenger hunt in the gift shop for the kids, which was such a fun bonus and kept them engaged while we explored. Overall, it’s a truly special stop that feels both inspiring and welcoming. Highly recommend taking the time to visit!

Definitely worth a stop if you're in Rapid City. The grounds are so peaceful and pretty. The chapel itself is very unique and beautiful. There is a cabin full of antiques that are interesting to see. If you're looking g for a souvenir, the gift shop has many useful and decorative items.

During a very busy vacation sightseeing the a black Hills, a visit to Chapel in the Hills was like hitting the slow motion button in a really good way. There was a sense of peace and calm. Our family took the time to take the prayer walk ((very short walk in the woods behind the chapel). I appreciated the attention to detail in the wood, even the rain spouting was made from wood. I highly recommend taking the time to visit this extraordinary site. Didn't miss the gift shop either.
Jeremy K — Google review
I was really impressed. I didn't know that there was an exact replica of the Norwegian 1108 church, but in this case, it was built in 1969. It's a very peaceful place, and you can really appreciate the architecture work and the spiritual environment in this place.

Prairie Edge Trading Co & Galleries is a two-story retail store and gallery that spans an entire block, showcasing a wide array of Native American books, music, jewelry, and ceremonial items. The establishment serves as a platform for Northern Plains Indian artists to display their work and educate the public about their rich heritage. Since the 1980s, Prairie Edge has been dedicated to preserving the remarkable legacy of its artists.
Spectacular selection of local crafts, Indian inspired art, Western clothing, turquoise jewelry, fine art, amazing painting, sculpture, textile arts like Indian blankets.

The only positive aspect of my experience was Maya. She's helpful, kind and polite. I've been a long time supplier of Indigenous botanicals to Praire Edge. I wanted to try their products for the first time. I definitely regret that decision. I purchased $350 worth of herbs and teas. They didn't have the decency nor the respect to package my goods correctly. All of the products I bought were open, spilling out, and thrown into a bag. I didn't check the bags at the store because I trusted they would be properly packaged. The teas were falsely advertised at 2oz, most of them weighed less. I called concerning this issue and had no resolution. They kept transferring me from person to person. The staff started to speak to me rudely and attempted to be condescending. They continued to tell me management is "out of office". Once I finally got to speak to Brenda(GM), all she did was constantly interrupt me when I tried to explain the situation, became rude and raised her voice throughout the conversation. She wanted me to speak to Nancy, and that never happened. She's conveniently always on leave. No accountability from the staff or management. They even told me I'm not welcome back as a supplier or customer for voicing my concerns. From an Indigenous person's perspective it seems like they exploit indigenous cultures and treat the native people with no respect that buy from them.

The Dahl Arts Center, a nonprofit municipal venue established in 1974, is a hub for arts and culture in western South Dakota. Managed by the Rapid City Arts Council, it features five visual art galleries showcasing regional and local artists, a gift shop, and an interactive gallery for children. The center also boasts a nearly 200-foot Cyclorama Mural of American history and an events center hosting performances and community events.
Surprisingly amazing exhibition. And free! Absolutely must have!

A beautiful and well organized institution with exhibit spaces for art that celebrates South Dakota and beyond. The exhibits are well curated. My two recent visits saw exhibitions focused on South Dakota artists. This is such an important place, as it highlights and makes accessible the talent and creativity in the state. It is also a community space. In December 2018, I saw a well attended holiday concert around lunchtime. The event space seems suitable to any use. The permanent exhibit of the Cyclorama mural documents US and regional histories. Completed in 1975, it is just as impactful today, and an incredible piece of history. Take some time to really look at each section for the depth that’s there. There is also a children’s area with art themed activities. It gives parents the chance to give your child a way to see the adult exhibit and then go to their own space if and when needed. The gift shop has many unique pieces by local artists. The handmade soaps by Black Crow Soaps never disappoint. There are also artist created greeting cards and photos of South Dakota landscapes and objects. All around a great museum

The mural room by Bernard Thomas is truly amazing! Finished in the mid-1970s, the mural was commissioned by a local banker (A.E. Dahl). The fantastic details are rendered in spectacular fashion. The mural has become controversial by some in the arts community, who profess perfect vision. Some have even called for defacing the mural because some scene offends their sensibilities. Art is not supposed to be a sedative! It is supposed to engage people. I hope that someone who is truly upset will raise money to tell their viewpoint. In fact, I hope many people do exactly that. We need more art, NOT more censorship.

The Dahl Arts Center was the perfect location for the Great American Book Festival and related events. The building is perfectly suited for an arts/culture related event and fits our theme to a "T". The facility is well maintained and the layout offers a variety of configurations for multiple uses including private meeting spaces. But above and beyond all that, the staff is nothing short of amazing! Having hosted literary events around the country for over a decade I can say that the Dahl Arts Center has, by far, the most delightful people who always go above and beyond. And they do so with a smile and a kind word. We are so very grateful to the Dahl for all that they do. We've hosted our events with them two years in a row now and can't imaging a place more suited for our Writers' Conference and related events. Also a special shout-out to event coordinator, Caitlin, who is the glue that helps hold everything together. She's a Rock Star!

The Black Hills Caverns, discovered in 1882 by gold seekers but known to the Lakota Indians for centuries, offer a fascinating underground adventure. The cavern stretches over 3,400 feet and showcases various rock formations such as helictites and popcorn crystals. Visitors can opt for either the hour-long Adventure Tour or the shorter Crystal Tour to explore this natural wonder.
Had a tour this morning with Isaac. It was great! We had small kids… ages 8, 6 and 4… easily able to do the adventure tour. Stairs and cave is well maintained and the kids had a blast! Gift shop is very nice but there are ports potties outside… recommend you stopping in town at the restroom before you come. Enjoyed the experience!

We took the long tour. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour. If you are looking for massive formations...this isn't the tour for you. If you are looking for natural formation, knowledgeable guides and traversing different landscapes this is the tour for you. Xander was amazing. Clearly knew what he was doing and made it fun. I have done several different caves over the years and really enjoyed this one.

Black Hills Caverns was such a fun experience! I took my 3 boys, and they absolutely loved it. One of my kiddos is on the spectrum, and it was amazing to see how engaged he was -asking questions and soaking up every detail. The tour was not only beautiful but also educational. Xander was our tour guide, he was hilarious and made it enjoyable for all ages. I definitely recommend visiting, and we can’t wait to go back again!

Great experience underground. Maximum distance underground was 250 ft. Pretty cold around 42 to 50 degrees inside the cave so bring a jacket or sweatshirt. Lots of steps.

We really enjoyed this cave tour. Guide was really great and informative. This tour had a much more personal feel than the bigger cavern tours. They aren't kidding when they say moderately strenuous- there are quite a few stairs and some are steep, but there are many stops to look and catch your breath. Take a jacket or buy a sweatshirt in the gift shop- it's around 50 degrees in the caverns year round. Highly recommend!

We did the Chuckwagon supper and show. What an awesome way to end our trip! They efficiently serve a large crowd in a friendly manner. Food was delicious; we particularly liked the chunky applesauce. The musicians were top notch - super talented and entertaining. We brought our 10 and 12 year olds and they enjoyed the sing alongs. At $40 per person for dinner and a show, we found the price to be quite reasonable. Thanks for a fun time! ~ Erica and Roy from NJ

This place is an oasis in the desert. You want to stop here and fill up and plan the day. The .99 cent all you can eat pancakes are delicious! And the biscuits and gravy hit the spot so hard I had seconds. The staff is friendly and the live pianist was a treat. We did not mean to stop on our trip to SD but it is the reason we will be planning a second one. We stayed in the area for a week and ate here 3 times. We can't wait to return. Wonderful museum to kill some time. Half hour to 45 minutes, maybe a bit more if you choose to mini golf. Small theater. Mirror maze.
Elise L — Google review
Pricey for what it is. We spent $42 for the 3 of us to get in. My son loved everything and spent a lot of time in the maze. As an adult, I found it very run down and in disrepair. It's your typical tourist trap, kids love it and the adults think it's meh 😕 at best.
Amanda M — Google review
Based on the outside of the facility my hopes weren't high on what to expect. The cost for what you see, in my opinion, is not worth it, but with updates to the facility could be! The dinosaurs are neat to see. There are some as bones, but the majority are life-size, realistic replicas to show you what they were like. There were several of the replicas that had damage to them (one raptor was missing an entire digit). With your every fee you get access to their mirror maze and mini golf course. The mirror maze was small but fun and well put together. One mirror was broken toward the end, but that didn't detract from the experience. The mini golf course, on the other hand, was a big disappointment. The course is not maintained, there were sticks and debris at every hole. I feel they missed a big opportunity with the dinosaur theme at this course to help with drawing in more customers! There was one mid sized dinosaur sculpture in the middle of the course, but other than that the course was very basic and had no decor or theme. Overall, if the facility had some much needed updates, I feel it could be a great draw for families to enjoy!

Just a great place to go and learn about dinosaurs 💗 kiddos loved the mirror maze and sitting in their little theater watching and learning about dinosaurs🦕🦖❣️

To be honest I’m surprised this place only has 4 stars on Google because we thought it was FANTASTIC and definitely deserves 5!! I read through some of the bad reviews and got the impression that the bad reviews were from the type of people that will have something negative to say about everything…. This place is wonderful!!! The exhibits are very lifelike & had detailed information. The interior of the building has neat lighting to give a more Jurassic/ scavenger appeal which my kids and I thought was great. Not to mention the awesome decor with greenery that made it feel even more real. I saw some reviews that mentioned the building being worn down but in my opinion I thought it was made to look rustic as part of the experience, but that’s just my perspective. I have a 7 year old and a 1.5 year old and they were both entertained with plenty of things to do. We went through the mirror maze about 10 times and giggled uncontrollably every time. We also got to play a game of mini golf outside which was such a great addition! The movie theatre had great sound and we were impressed with the quality of the video. Both my kids LOVED digging for fossils in the sand boxes. Supporting local businesses like this dinosaur museum is crucial for our communities. Let's uplift and celebrate our hometown gems together! Five stars all the way!

Went yesterday and I think the man we spoke with was the owner. He was super accommodating as he was doing maintenance and we had to wait a bit before we could go in. It is also part of the Leonard Swanson Memorial Pathway, making it an ideal day trip for cyclists. With its picnic areas surrounded by lush greenery, it's perfect for outdoor picnics on sunny days.
One of the best parks in the city. It has it all. Plenty of grass (best maintained out of every Park) and play area space with grills that are scattered around for any picnics you may choose. A lake that is stocked with trout with plenty of geese and ducks that are never far away. There are two main gazebos and a Bridgeway that goes to a little mini Island with a small gazebo. WaTiki® Indoor Waterpark Resort Great waterpark. Decent location. Located in the middle of the hotel areas so everyone can share. Great ideal. Even better, they don’t charge extra for using the waterpark. A lot of waterpark will charge extra. Not here. Get a hotel room and the ticket for the park is free. Warning: Come when they open. If not, you will be waiting, waiting, waiting, for a table/chair. Or RSVP online $60 for a table/chair. Your choice. It’s not a Kalahari but decent for the price. Highly recommended

Very crowded signaling its popularity with both locals and visitors. Slides are absolutely kid-friendly and great way to entertain children of all ages. Plenty of life guards posted throughout the establishment and rules are strictly enforced giving a piece of mind for partners. Strategically placed entrances further provide sense of security and ability to monitor children without having to constantly hover over them. Place has a bar & grill that is convenient but a bit pricy and an arcade room attached. Unfortunately, one of the water compositions were closed during out visit for repairs so we didn’t get to experience this par in it’s entirety, but would certainly recommend visiting the place. Staying in Home2Suits that is adjacent to the waterpark gets you free entrance tickets.

Would have given 5 stars except the day passes for the waterpark mean it gets EXTREMELY crowded at certain times of the day. We were lucky to enjoy a little over an hour of time without significant water slide lines and had a blast! Once there were lines to get a tube we left as it was more waiting than enjoying. Our room was spacious and generally clean. We would stay again!

Wow!!! Did a search in the area for a waterpark to bring the kids to. Got a hotel for a few nights then went on line to grab some tickets to the waterpark. The tickets for a day cost me 560 bucks for one day and all the other days didn’t have any left. When I got there the hotel informed me that the park was actually complimentary and we could take the kids in not just the day I had reserved but everyday. I walked over and talked to Lauren, one of the managers and explained that I had bought tickets and didn’t realize that the hotel purchase were giving them to me free. So Lauren refunded my entire ticket purchase and then also gave me 20 bucks dinner credit. Kids are having a fabulous time and I highly recommend!!! Thanks Lauren

Plus, there's a bar for cold drinks, and they even offer mocktails, which I really appreciate as someone who doesn’t drink. Overall, it's a fantastic place to cool off, relax, and have a blast indoors. Highly recommend if you're in the Rapid City area!

*Family friendly *no designated RV/travel trailer parking, but some were parked near anyway *not air conditioned well if at all I was looking for a place to beat the heat with my baby and decided to go here today, June 20th, with a high of 102 degrees. This Waterpark is open year round, which for south dakota means its barely air conditioned if they even have any and the water is heated. This will be amazing in the winter but it makes this spot a horrible place to go to get away from the heat! It was hotter inside than outside!! This is a very family friendly location! For all ages! I came with my 7mo. There is a very tiny little splash pad area thats perfect for littles and toddlers, and a beach area that's perfect to sit in and splash with a baby or toddler! They have life vests available for kids, none for babies. But they allowed me to use my infant flotation inner tube in the lazy river. The lazy river is amazing and was great for my 7mo. We will definitely be coming back once it's colder outside! There were multiple life guards, and you had to have a wrist band or hotel card to enter into the Waterpark. This made it feel very safe! There wasn't anywhere great to nurse a baby. We got there early and picked a table tucked in the corner for privacy. There is a locker room, but its bench is visible to everyone who walks back to the bathrooms. The bathroom does not have a place to nurse a baby. However, it does have a changing table in the handicap stall. This made it incredibly easy to change me and my baby without anything or anyone having to be put on the floor, making it ideal for a single or solo parent to come with their baby! The changing station did have quite a tilt down, but it held my son's weight and had a working buckle. This place is attached to two hotels, and I did not see designated RV/trailer parking, however I noticed a few rigs parked in the back taking up multiple spaces, so maybe they work with RVers All in all this is a great stop and an awesome way to spend your day! Just don't do what I did and go on a hot day!

Miniature golf course
This pirate-themed mini golf course has 18 holes with scenic falls and caves set among the trees. The courses are rated 'Best in the State' by Golf Digest, and have received the Rapid City, SD 'Beautification Award'.
Our family recently played a round of mini golf. The moment we walked in the staff was warm and welcoming. The associates were very pleasant and helpful. We were a little nervous that the warmer temps might make it a little harder to enjoy, but the course has a pretty large amount of vegetation and shaded areas. We thought the course looked nice but we were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. We had a great time playing and recommend playing a round. We are excited to play again and see if we will improve our scores.

I don't typically leave reviews, but I feel it is necessary to let staff and any perspective guest know when a business does a great job. My family and I just got done with a round at Pirate's Cove and we had a blast. The appearance is one that screams "we care about our establishment" and the grounds are well maintained. The staff are nice and also exude a "we love what we do" energy, which seems to be rare to come by these days. We have all been to those businesses where the staff don't care and even loath their jobs and it shows. This is NOT that type of business. I definitely recommend visiting and playing round. You won't be disappointed with your experience!

A wonderful amenity in a great tourist town. The owner was a sweet gal that was more than happy to answer questions and get you the best clubs for your height. The course itself was 18 holes of mix between challenging and easier holes. There were 2 holes in particular that had water features that could level the playing field if you aren't careful. A great way to spend some outdoor time for the whole family.
Mike M — Google review
Awesome mini golf experience! My wife, 3 kids, and I walked in and immediately were helped to get tickets. We played a full 18 holes and had plenty of fun doing it. The only thing that could make it better would be a snack bar. We will be back next vacation

Such a fun, well crafted mini golf course. No major gimmicks - just clever and deceptive. Great time.

Nice place. The course is not too hard or too easy. Fun pirate facts along the way. Would recommend.
Janine G — Google review
We absolutely love Pirate's Cove! In fact, we played two rounds which ended up taking us 2.5 hours and we enjoyed every minute of it. Time well spent with family!
Melissa H — Google review
You will have a fantastic time here! Whether you're putting up or down a hill, in a cave behind a waterfall, or even down a river, you'll find that the course is not too difficult while still being a lot of fun! The theme is fun, the scenery is great, and you will find yourself rather cool under the many mature trees throughout the course! Also, even though it's off a main road, you cannot even hear the traffic. This course is suitable for ages 3+.

The Berlin Wall, a significant historical monument, can be found in Memorial Park where visitors can view a large section of the wall alongside two tank traps. This site serves as a poignant reminder of the past and is beautifully maintained, making it an ideal stop for families and history enthusiasts alike. The surrounding area offers various attractions such as museums and parks that enhance your visit to this remarkable piece of history.
We were happy to discover this outdoor piece of world history in the middle of South Dakota. We had no idea that there is an actual section of the Berlin Wall erected as a monument to the Cold War era. It was a vivid reminder of the freedoms we have enjoyed in America. Our kids got to learn about the extreme conditions behind the iron curtain. It was sobering and worth the detour.

Great piece of history in this part of the park. It is on/near the great bike trail. The trail seems like it connects all the parks and the pool and a lot of things in the town. It’s very clean and neat. We only road 8 miles on it but I’m sure that there is a lot more.

Neat memorial with actual section of the Berlin Wall There’s nice plaques with historical context and the area is super peaceful with the river. If you’re downtown, I’d recommend the quick stop by.

Very unique and sobering monument. The wall in Berlin clearly demonstrates how people prefer democracy over communism. A walk this large was required to keep people in a communist country.

Nestled in downtown Rapid City, Firehouse Wine Cellars is housed in a historic fire station dating back to 1905. The winery offers a unique experience with remnants of its past life, including fire poles and antique firefighting equipment. Visitors can sample a diverse selection of wines, from oak-aged reds to sweet dessert styles, expertly paired with artisan flatbread pizzas and cheese boards by an in-house sommelier.
Stopped here for wine tasting before heading somewhere to eat. They had a wide selection to choose from! Obviously most grapes not from SD. The Syrah and Merlot were very good. We had a glass of each after tasting. Reasonable prices. Plenty of room at bar area.

10/10 I wish they had wine cellars like this everywhere!!! Laura was absolutely amazing!!! We had a wine flight then a glass of wine after and it was all so good!! My favorite one was Mythical Beast 10/10 I should’ve gotten a bottle to bring home. Also the have a wonderful and that’s like music to my ears.

An absolutely phenomenal experience. I have tried wine tasting at a couple of establishments and have enjoyed it, yet I absolutely loved this experience at Firehouse. The bartender was a master at selecting wines that were delicious. I tried about 10 wines, and each was fantastic. The atmosphere was quiet and inviting. The quality of wine was fantastic. It was a great time with amazing wine. 5 stars is not sufficient on the quality of my experience. I plan on going back before I leave town, and will certainly be back when I return to town.

Beautiful, clean and trendy atmosphere. Great quality wines that don’t just taste like sugary table wines like some of the other local wineries. They occasionally have live music, events and wine club events. Their food menu is small but the quality of it is excellent. My family loves going here because you can get the great wines AND the beers from their brewery next door without any hassle. The staff is very friendly and provide excellent customer service.

(Wine tasting) I am not into wine but my friend talked me into going. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. The atmosphere is warm and friendly thanks to the staff and patrons. The lady who served us is amazing. I'm sure she could tell I didn't know anything and made me feel comfortable by feeling me in on the process. I wound up buying a bottle of my favorite, the Prarie Flower Rosae. Great place, I'll be back the next time I'm in the area.
Gino G — Google review
During our visit, the woman assisting us was unfortunately not very friendly. When my mother-in-law asked what their sweetest wine was, she was told, "It’s listed on the menu, just read it." My mother-in-law explained that she had tried the Riesling but found it less sweet than she preferred. The woman then responded, "We make real wine here." Later, another customer asked if they sold a certain beer in singles, and she curtly replied, "I’m not in the brewery, I don’t know what they do over there." Overall, her tone came across as dismissive and unwelcoming, which took away from the experience.

Great place for wine and gifts! If you want food, you'll need to go next door. Willam was the best bartender!! He was very attentive and welcoming to not just us, but to everyone that walked in. $1 per sample or 6 for $5. William gave great descriptions of the wine and the history behind the company and knew where all the grapes were from. So many to choose from! Wonderful experience!!

Nicely set up and displayed. The cars all had placards that told about manufacturer details and also the history of the vehicle. They were well done, and having the history behind the vehicle really made each vehicle more interesting. Bill and Peggy, the owners were great to visit with, as well. All this, and it was only 5 bucks - best value around!!!

Memorial Park, located adjacent to Downtown Rapid City, is a 27-acre park that serves as a memorial to the victims of the 1972 Rapid City Flood. The park features various memorials including the Black Hills Veterans Memorial and a segment of the Berlin Wall. It also houses Legacy Commons playground with separate play areas for kids of different ages and abilities. Annual events like the Downtown Pumpkin Festival and Hills Alive music festival take place here.
Very peaceful and calming place amidst the city crowd. There is the Berlin wall memorial in the park that enhances its value. A creek flows through the park so you can enjoy this beauty as well. Ideal place to take a break from your hectic travel or spend a quality lunch break with your loved ones. Also, this would be a nice place for jogging or biking as it has pavements for those. It's also pet friendly. I'm not sure if fishing is allowed in the pond but I saw some people doing it.

Robbinsdale Park is a delightful outdoor haven that caters to all ages and interests. This expansive park features a playground for toddlers and older kids, baseball fields, and even a BMX track for thrill-seekers. Dog lovers will appreciate the adjacent leash-free dog park where furry friends can romp around, though it's wise to keep an eye on them due to tall grasses that may harbor ticks.
Amazing park in South Dakota! Love that dogs can be without their leashes! Amazing!

The park used to have a natural grassy area inside the walking path circle, but it has been clear cut to the dirt. Maybe some landscaping plans are in the works? Petrified Forest Trailhead offers a variety of interconnected trails that provide city views and a glimpse into the region's prehistoric past. While it may not have as many petrified trees as other fossil sites, the main trail off Skyline Drive offers a taste of an ancient forest. The well-laid-out path is partly shaded and features slight inclines, making it relatively easy yet still able to raise your heart rate slightly.
Great trails in the middle of Rapid City. First the City views off Skyline, then the trees and Meadows down the trails with the city backdrop. Turkeys, birds, squirrels. Great place to relax and unwind! Or get your steps in. Or your ride on. So many options!

Its kid and dog friendly, a very easy hike to do with a toddler or baby on your back. Its pretty urban, but theres tons of parts that don't feel too urban. Its not a bad trail by any means, but in comparison to so many other trails in the area I cant give it 5 stars!

It was a great place for a quick hike inside Rapid City without driving 30 minutes or more outside of town. I found both sun and shade on the hike. Lots of different trails to explore. My 73 year old mom did great on this hike with her walking sticks. Some of the trails have rolling gravel, so the walking sticks were nice to have.

Beautifully scenic area. Options of different trail heads. I like to go and get away from the noises of town but it's also very family friendly. I take my kids to go for short hikes. There are different trails with different levels of difficulty. There's the amphitheater and a couple of places to rest along the way.

This is a perfect hike. The path is well laid out. It’s partly shaded. It will raise your heart rate slightly with slight inclines, but is relatively an easy course. Black Hills Maze offers a unique and enjoyable family adventure with its 1.2-mile labyrinth of walkways, bridges, twists, and turns. Visitors can have fun getting lost in the wooden panel maze while collecting stamps at colored towers before finding the exit. The place also features mini-golf and a rock climbing wall for added entertainment. The friendly staff adds to the positive experience, making it a great destination for both kids and adults alike.
I came to SD with my sister and best friend for a girl's trip to Mt. Rushmore and we decided to try out this maze. As adults, we had a BLAST! So I can definitely say that your children will have fun running around this maze looking for all 4 towers. I will be coming again next time when it's a family trip.

Pretty awesome, but don't go during a nation wide, record setting heat wave, just saying. Hail hydrate.
Paul L — Google review
I don't normally do big reviews, but this place was incredible. For those of you wondering what this place is, exactly, it's a large maze (about a mile of walking IF YOU KNOW YOUR WAY THROUGH) made of wood paneling. There are other games here as well, but the main draw is the maze. The object of the maze is to walk through and get a stamp at each colored tower in the corners of the maze, then find the exit. It's pretty easy to get lost in, but that's kind of the point of a place like this. Don't get discouraged, because they have people stationed inside the maze who are completely willing to give hints, and there are emergency exits if you should give up. One of the best parts of this place is that periodically, the maze is taken down and reset to a different pattern, meaning each trip can be different. They also have a Friday night promotion, where you can try to find your way through at night for cheap. It's also more fun in the dark, so Friday night was a win-win for me. In short, this place is awesome. Anytime I am back in the area, I absolutely plan on trying the maze again. I wish I remembered the names of the people on shift so I could mention them here, too.
Jeff K — Google review
Fun maze. Nice activity to get family moving after being in the car. Price seemed ok for the experience. Staff was friendly. The maze was in good shape. Nice little area with refreshments to wait for everyone to finish. 25 minutes was our group's best time.

My wife and I visited this 20yrs ago and now that we have a 13yr old and 10 yr old we decided to hit it again on our South Dakota vacation. I feel like the price is on the high side but there isn't another one that I know of. It was really fun and took up a good hour if you take time to have fun and enjoy it. The staff were great and it is showing its age with the faded planks. Worth a visit.
Jason L — Google review
The maze was great! The people not so much! I didn't cheat anywhere or anything. And I got 14 minutes (their fastest is 21 minutes) I brought my card in and the guys said I must have climbed under and that nobody can get that fast unless they know the maze already But then I was reading the back of the card and it says no running. And I was running for sure. So I guess I did that but I didn't crawl under anything.

Top notch. Best hidden gem that most might pass up because they don't know where to look or drive on by. I absolutely loved the staff, very friendly and patient with my kind of crazy. 8) My favorite was the man running the show on the bridge (helping those that are looking for help or frustrated after entering the start). Great, friendly service. The ride was fun and felt safe. My kiddo, who isn’t much into crazy adventure, loved it! Buy the 3 pass ride vw the single ride. Definitely worth going multiple times!!

If you're looking for a place where kids can unleash their energy and have an absolute blast, look no further than Get Air Trampoline Park in Rapid City. This vibrant venue offers a variety of activities that will keep everyone entertained, from bouncing on trampolines to playing exhilarating games of dodgeball. The foam pit is a favorite among young jumpers, providing endless fun as they leap into soft cushions.
My family had an awesomely amazing time at Get Air. The Manager Stephanie was so helpful and courteous. I was impressed with the customer service and the cleanliness of the building. The massage chairs were excellent for my elderly mom and myself. We will definitely be back! Thank you, Stephanie, and staff for the fun time!
Gina J — Google review
Employees are rude. One employee was demanding my kids names, threatening to throw them out, over the actions of other kids bullying. Said employee ran off when my kid got me involved. Place has an awkward layout, not many places for parents to sit, aluminum prison stools are not comfortable. Closed snack bar upstairs has unlabeled spray bottles of chemicals all over the service counter. Overall floors, counters, and high touch areas look like they've never been cleaned. 0-out of-5 stars, highly recommend skipping and taking your hard earned money elsewhere. Plenty of businesses with friendly staff that want your business in this area. Clear sign of poor management and absent ownership.
Aaron — Google review
***dirty, dangerous, and rude staff*** Wow, I never write bad reviews but Genna not only suggested it, she told me how to spell her name, and recommended I call/email her manager, Stephanie. Her exact words were “I’ve been trained to be rude to customers when they have attitudes.” My 10 year old daughter is still in awe about that statement. She explained that each person needed to fill out a waiver. Cool, been here a dozen times. I filled out my elderly mother’s because she isn’t fluent in English and doesn’t own a computer. Once waivers were filled out, Genna raised her voice in a degrading “customer service/Karen” voice saying “I saw you fill out your mother’s waiver!” Just a nasty person. She was in the mood to argue and wouldn’t stop going tit for tat. It was shocking how badly she wanted to argue. She was also disheveled and appeared unbathed. Interesting for a company to be so concerned with safety when the sidewalks were not shoveled or salted and park equipment was broken without a caution sign. To make matters worse, I was overcharged and instead of apologizing, Genna blamed it on me! If Genna is going to be around children in a chaotic environment, I hope her manager re-trains her. Genna was even heard on the phone speaking with Stephanie about me and my mother, probably to get ahead of this review. This whole, be rude to customers doesn’t seem like a good business model, especially since the park itself is dirty and extremely rundown. Bathrooms smell like sewage, drinking fountains have been broken for months, tornado game barely spits out wind, and equipment is broken . This isn’t the only bad review Genna has gotten. I have read several about her. I recommend customers check out Jump n Slide Adventure Park- comparable prices and the park is pristine, with a stellar staff!

My kids love this place and Stephanie the manager is AMAZING!!! Stephanie is so patient, caring and great with all the kids. Stephanie is our boys favorite person that works there. They do special events and Stephanie always tries to help our community with fundraisers to help the k8ds raise money. If Stephanie ever left it just won't be the same, she is the glue to this place staying open.
April V — Google review
Staff was rude, constantly yelling at kids. Dude with the long hair yelled at the kids “I swear to god if you don’t listen I’ll kick out the whole group” because some kids were climbing on the top part . There’s a way to be kind and tells kids not how he went about it
Talmai M — Google review
First time going to get air trampoline park. Even though I didn't jump, it was fun watching the grandkids jump. Great place for birthday parties and more. Staff was friendly and willing to help. Thank you for a great time.
Ross J — Google review
Awesome experience with my 12-year old’s birthday party! We got the lowest tier package and the manager Steph was super attentive and accommodating. They had the area cleaned up well and let us know they could clean our mess, however, we opted to pick up after ourselves. I’ve had my daughter’s party at other establishments in the past but none of them compared to the stellar service we got at Get Air. It is a bit pricey but you get your money’s worth between the jump passes, socks, and food—will come back!
Jesse G — Google review
Visitor from out of town writing. Our 3 children (6, 9, and 10) all enjoyed jumping on the trampolines and the swing into the foam block pit was nice but there was not enough non-jump stuff for those that like climbing/Rock walls/obstacle courses like we are used to. Plus, a couple of the activities were closed, which also left us feeling a bit underwhelmed by our experience. We may just be a bit spoiled, but we paid the same price for this Get Air location that we pay at various other trampoline parks, and they simply offer more for our children to do for the money. It was a good experience. We were just left expecting more.

The Roosevelt Swim Center is a great place for family fun. It's affordable and family-friendly, making it perfect for any occasion. The facilities are top-notch, and the staff is always happy to help out. Whether you're looking to swim laps or just hit the pool for some good old fashioned fun, this is the spot for you!
Very nice water walk and swimming lanes. If you're going to the pool for fitness or recovery, you'll be satisfied. There are some other reviews complaining about the place not being kid friendly. I see this as a bonus. I like that there's no screaming 8 year olds when I'm trying to exercise. It's most retirees when I go, and that works just fine for me.
Michael R — Google review
I used to enjoy swimming here but the staff aren’t as friendly as they once were, and the water is colder than it used to be. My mom had asked if they could put on Facebook when the schools were going to be there and the manager, I’m guessing, replied in a rude tone that she only puts the signs on the counter. Well, that doesn’t do much good if you haven’t been to the pool since she posted the signs. Some people travel from Hot Springs and Custer so it would be nice to be able to check the website or Facebook for closures and big events that make it difficult to enjoy the pool and walking channel. Otherwise, I enjoy how clean it is and the exercise room upstairs is awesome.
Dionne P — Google review
Nice pool with multiple pools and things to do. The hot tub is nice and hot and has strong jets "which I enjoy" Nice central location right above the kids area, which makes it easy to enjoy the hot tub while kids play.

Superb. Friendly staff gave my son a military discount. Clean, uncrowded, excellent temperature and strong jets on the hot tub. Easy to use lockers, sauna, fun slide for adults and kids, great lazy river and pleasant water temperature. Changing rooms fully equipped. Great rates on punch card. Really good opening hours. Very impressed that a city of this size has such a wonderful facility.

Had no idea this gem was here. Had a friend's daughter out for a birthday party. This is a place for smaller children (0-7yrs) they provided a room and party plates/napkins/silverware. Kids really enjoyed the jungle gym and slides. Small area set up for crawlers as well.
Amy R — Google review
I took my kids here for the first time today. They loved it! My younger kids played nonstop for the several hours we were there, and my older kids who were too big to play on the equipment enjoyed being able to have a fancy drink while we were there. I myself enjoyed a cup of coffee, which was also excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive, and like many other reviews said, I actively saw them sanitizing the toys and equipment during our visit. It was pretty busy when we first got there, and we were wishing there were more tables and chairs closer to the play area, but it didn't take too long before one opened up. Overall, this was a great experience, and we will be back sometime!
A K — Google review
My kids could spend hours on end here and not even notice it. It has been endless fun for them and a great social environment. Staff is so friendly and I love the coffee for me!!! We got the monthly membership and so far its been worth every penny! I will definitely continue with the membership!
Pamela F — Google review
McDonald's has gotten rid of all their play areas which really was a disappointment but this new place is a great replacement! With it being cold and snowy more then half the year in South Dakota what a well needed addition to our community! Its nice to just let the kids run! Its exceptionally clean (which we all know McDonald's play area was not). Staff was very warm and inviting and seemed eager to make your visit fun & enjoyable for all! The cost seemed affordable, but I only brought 1 child so I'm not sure if they offer discounts for multiple children. The location was hard to find with my Google maps navigation and being from out of town it took me driving around a few parking lots to find it. Hint: its in a brand new strip mall by Sonics!
Alissa S — Google review
Almost 4 stars. I really like having a place indoors to take my daughter to be able to play and run around. Pricing is reasonable. The staff are very polite and positive. I will continue to take my daughter and even bought a pass. So on to the reasons for three stars. The place is too small for the amount of people on busy days, keeping in mind this is around holiday when kids are out of school I understand that it was probably busier than normal. The layout has several blind spots. I would give a fourth star for a solution to a couple blind spots. When not over crowded supervision of blind spots is easy. There is an opening on the end of the bar and my daughter runs right into the men's restroom from there. She doesn't do it all the time but enough that when she goes around the equipment I know I need to hurry over there, I don't always make it in time, depends on how crowded it is. I hope this place does well and if it expands or opens another one they will be able to improve on some of this. Like I said I will still go and it's a good place to take my daughter to, I just have to stay alert and can't relax too much.
Elizabeth S — Google review
Very small. Yes its clean and also full of rules. One of them being no adults on the play equipment. The equipment states it is designed for ages 5 to 12. My 11 year old daughter was not allowed to help my 3 year old play on the equipment but 20 minutes later 2 other adults were playing in there with a toddler about the same age. Why make so many rules if they aren't going to enforce them. This place was a big disappointment. Will not be returning. Why it gets so many high reviews I will never understand.
Jeff M — Google review
We have been here multiple times and my children never get tired of playing here. There are times with his busy and there are a lot of children around usually once school is out or on a holiday but that just makes it more fun for the children because they have more kiddos to play with. We have a membership and we utilize it so much on cold snowy days. The staff here at outside in are so nice and they are always seen sanitizing the toys and making sure nothing is going wrong. I like how I can watch my children freely from a bench or the coffee area, or I can just sit on the floor with my toddler and watch them run around. I'm part of the local MOMS club so it has been a really fun place for us to bring our toddlers and we can sit and chat and not feel like we're running around chasing them lol! This is something Rapid has needed and I'm so glad they made this place
Christine B — Google review
We had a blast! The staff is wonderful and equipment was so, so much fun for my one and half year olds! Although the place was pretty packed, there were no issues of any sort with anyone and we frequently saw the staff cleaning and sweeping. My twins are going to sleep well tonight!

Fun & Games
Legacy Commons Playground is a unique and vibrant theme restaurant in Grand Rapids, offering a 1970s vibe that sets it apart from the city's dining scene. The owner, Beth Rich, drew inspiration from her experience as a bar owner in Santa Monica to create an unforgettable dining experience. The playground caters to all ages, with various play areas and equipment for kids of different ages. Parents can easily find seating on benches and picnic tables while keeping an eye on their little ones.
So many fun playgrounds for all ages. My 2 year old who loves slides found one the perfect size for her. Tall enough to be exciting, but short enough that she could climb up and slide all on her own. Benches and picnic tables are spread around so parents never have to look far for a seat. Finally, the "Pulse Tennis" machine is lots of fun with plenty of running back and forth. The only downside is that parking is not real close so you have a bit of a walk to get to the playground.
Andrew ( — Google review
Very dirty park that isn’t well maintained. We stopped over on a Sunday morning and each playground was filthy. Trash, alcohol bottles, clothing, and homeless people all over the place. I would highly recommend going to a different park. The grass is overgrown as well. Pretty sad to see the potential of a park like this but is so poorly maintained.
Adam L — Google review
Has various aged playground areas. Each area has a variety of things for the kids to do. In addition to the play area there are exercise equipment for you to do a quick workout while watching the kids play. The play ground area is slightly padded or bouncy. A nice touch of the local items as in the B-1, B-52, grubby the miner to name a few. I myself had a great time. Will have to park a little bit away as there is not parking near and it is near a major road way.
Brandie J — Google review
Lots of cool features, but the location was poorly planned. No fence, and on the corner of two busy streets- yet you still have to park 10 minutes away. We travel full time and I’ve never seen anything like it.

I would Not!!!!! recommend this casino in any way shape or form.

Buffet chain offering pizza, fried chicken & classic American sides in an Old West-themed setting.
Fantastic! Great place for families because they prorate kids based on ages, so it doesn't break the bank. Delicious pizza options, plus you can special order one, and they notify you once it's done and at the buffet table. Best dessert pizza I've ever had! Wish they had this where we lives but it is probably a good thing because if we lived it Rapid City, we would get fat from eating here all the time!!!

The pizza is pretty nice. THE MASHED POTATOES are fire fr fr. Honestly, everything is pretty good. It's not like a HUGGEEEE buffet, but it's really good anyway. Has a chill arcade, although the machine to get tokens wasn't working, but that's ok.

A lot of fun for kids. Staff was very helpful and efficient. Fun games for younger and older children. You buy and use a card (reusable if you keep it) to put money on and swipe at games to play. You earn points using cards at machines and points earned are saved on the card to be redeemed at the prize area. Prize selection area was very well organized with a lot of good options for any amount of points. There is a large screen display so your child and you can see how many points they've used and on what and how many points remain for prizes.
Amanda N — Google review
We love taking the kids for pizza and games. The arcade is way overpriced though. For $10 you get 48 credits, the games are 4-20 credits, so be ready to either tell your kiddos they get about 5 minutes of play or have your wallet ready. Food is good 😊

Got there kind of late just before closing but started to hit bonus after bonus. I recently visited Iowa and they had a much larger Casino there. I did better at this casino than I did any of them in Iowa. Thanks for the short-lived entertainment
Jesse B — Google review
Sorry about the 4 star review but not all of your staff is friendly. I like the atmosphere there, can sit down and have a nice frosty one and not worry about someone coming up and asking to borrow a quarter. 😆
Mark S — Google review
Nothing special. NO LIVE ACTION. Just simple slot like machines. For a very basic taste of gambling. Nothing special. The guy in the night shift was pretty cool. Helpful. It's just a place to make a few bucks and pass time. Nothing serious.
Anuj S — Google review
I've won here. But the environment is kind of sketch. The quality of customer probably not the most upstanding citizens.

Mary who worked at 1pm was very nice, then a younger lady took over for her.....now she has a counting problem, need to watch her math becuz she's short-changing people. Not good.

Day time lady was sweet and friendly. Afternoon dude was stand offish and kind of a jerk. Place was clean and well maintained.

Chance is the best manager, friendly and makes it a great place to hang out. 11/10 go hang out with the King of the Casino!!

Friendly little neighborhood casino. The evening casino attendant named Gene is just amazing. He is so friendly and helpful and funny too. The place is stuck in the 1980's and definitely needs remodeling and sprucing up. Machines are a bit tight but sometimes you leave surprised and happy with extra cash.
Gary — Google review
The attendant (an older lady, didn’t catch her name) was GREAT! She was very welcoming and gave us some incredible tips on places to visit! I’m a video poker guy and they didn’t have a lot to offer on that front, but it was generally a good experience.

The bar keep was rather rude. They only serve the most popular drinks, and when I asked for something other than Budweiser he told me the place was a peanut stand. I left after that.

We will definitely be back. Place was clean and cozy. Steph made sure to greet everybody as they walked in and even took the extra step and as we left told us to have a good night and thank you for coming by our cups were never empty and she made sure to clean all machines as guests moved or left. Great customer service and experience!
